“Located 40 minutes away from Waterford City centre, this easy to access mountain range offers wonderful vistas across the county and down to the sea. Described by some as Ireland’s best kept secret, the Comeraghs offer everything from a dramatic waterfall down a cliff face to the mystery of the ‘magic road’ which runs through the gap of the range. There are many different walks you can take, from easy to moderate and difficult. Check the links on the entry. (50 minutes by car)”

“The gentle rolling hills of the Slieve Bloom Mountains rise from the central plains of Ireland, forming a natural link between the counties of Laois and of Offaly. The area is picturesque, peaceful, gloriously multi-coloured and one of the least explored in Ireland. Dotted around the mountains are quaint little villages, and to visit one is like stepping back in time to an era when life moved at a slower pace. These are the places where people will take the time to talk to you, will listen to your stories and enjoy telling you theirs. ”

“One of our favourites in the Killaloe / Ballina area. Rustic bar and excellent restaurant tucked up in the East Clare hills above Lough Derg. Beautiful, quiet spot where you can enjoy a drink or meal outside and enjoy panoramic view of the surrounding country side. While the weather is not so kind, lovely cosy bar with open fire to enjoy a few pints and the craic. ”
