  • Linda and Robert were super friendly and welcoming! The studio was beautiful; clean, all the amenities, comfy bed, a big bathroom, and the special touches such as the robes and snacks. This is my new favorite in Redmond!

  • Linda was very friendly and accommodating. We had a nice stay.

  • Linda was there to welcome us when we pulled up to the house. She graciously showed us around the studio space and explained all that we needed to know. The space is neatly organized with all the equipment needed to have a dinner in. It was snowy while we visited and the view from the dining table was gorgeous, looking out onto a snow covered garden. The studio is cozy, warm, and has lots of wonderdul windows.

  • Loved the location, and the space. If you're climbing at Smith and looking for a bed and warm place to stay, look no further! Linda and her family are kind and welcoming, looking forward to making it back.

  • This studio is just the thing for a single or a couple. A super comfy bed, beautiful bathroom and new, new furnishings. Although the space itself is small, there is ample outdoor space to hang when it's warm. Their farm fresh eggs and basic supplies make for a quick breakfast if you arrive late. Linda and her family are outgoing and friendly, and are there to help with recommendations, etc. Linda provides the personal touches that make it feel so homey. This is very quiet retreat and so close to Smith Rock and several restaurants and watering holes nearby. Heartily recommended!

  • We only stayed one night at Linda' place and wished we could've stayed longer. We loved everything about this adorably decorated, clean and homey studio. Its very private with its own parking and entrance. Linda has incredible attention to detail, the sleeping area is carpeted, you have two hotplates to use with dishes and utensils. She even left us fresh eggs, water and juices in the fridge. Overall, this is one of the homiest airbnbs we've stayed in, we will definitely be back!

  • We loved staying at Linda's place! She and her family were so kind and welcoming. We loved making breakfast after running at Smith Rock. Hoping to come back here soon!

  • As others have commented, Linda and Robert are great hosts. Their place is comfortable and cozy. Everything they promised. Heading back next year. Peter & Donna

Terrebonne is a small town just North of Redmond. Although our town is small, we have a very nice supermarket and two excellent restaurants to choose from. You may also make the 10 minute drive to dine, sample beer at local breweries and shop at the newly restored downtown part of Redmond. We live in an area of small acreages. Many of our neighbors are professionals and retired seniors who have chosen to live in the country. It is very relaxed and relatively quiet. Bring your bikes and enjoy the scenery on the country roads surrounding the house.
  • Had such a lovely time staying at Sallie's place. The suite is very private- separate entrance from the house. There were so many great snacks and breakfast items provided. Perfect for a day of climbing. And it was so close to smith state rock park- made the visit super easy and very enjoyable. Sallie wnd her husband are very friendly and warm and made us feel right at home.

    Ellie2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sallie's place. It is very close (5 min) to Smith Rocks which was the reason for our trip. The bed was great and the suite as a whole was well-equipped with everything we needed. We will be back!

    Ryan2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean accommodations and had everything we needed. We were met by Sally and Eric who offered to let us use their back porch to enjoy the view of Smith Rock. Unfortunately, it was too cold so we chose to enjoy staying inside. Bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed the coffee, yogurt, and delicious fruit bars that were kindly provided for us. Great access to Smith rocks.

  • Beautiful and spacious B&B close to Smith Rock. Very clean, well equiped, sperate entry., very nice hosts.

  • A very welcoming home with a comfy bed, private entrance, and great views of Smith Rock. The place looked even better in person and Sallie and her husband were great hosts! Would 100% recommend.

  • Very nice and welcoming! The place had a WONDERFUL view, and was extremely close to Smith Rock. The place was clean, nice and quiet, and just perfect!

  • This is the perfect basecamp for climbing, hiking, and biking at Smith Rock. It's only 2 miles from the park, and Monkey Face is clearly visible from the shared back porch. The suite is extremely comfortable and well equipped, and Sallie is a very welcoming and hospitable host. Would definitely recommend.

    Chris2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay! Sally was very welcoming. The accommodations were lovely. Lots of space for just the 2 of us. Simple & inviting decor. Comfy bed. Very clean. Yummy goodies to munch on. Loved the locale. Hiked Smith Rock a couple of different days. Sally helped us with finding places to eat & other activities to enjoy. As a bonus, we got to meet 9 new puppies! Highly recommend & hope to return. Very good value.

Our guest house is a 1970 21 foot Ideal Travel Trailer with views of Smith Rock, full kitchen, full bathroom, and outdoor terrace -- a very comfortable space for two.
This charming retro Travel Trailer is a simple, unique, clean and comfortable "tiny house", restored to its original 70's vibe. The sitting area couches make into a queen size bed. With the full kitchen (fridge, stove, oven) you can cook-in as much as you like. The bathroom is stylish and surprisingly adequate for a 21 foot trailer, complete with toliet, sink and shower. There is hot and cold running water, heating and air conditioning. You'll have views of Smith Rock out your window, everything you need in town within walking distance, and day trip options to hundreds of beautiful Central Oregon destinations.
Our neighborhood is a small, quiet, 70's style, working class neighborhood. The house (and RV space) sit on the last street on the east side of town at the edge of the bluff that overlooks the west perimeter of Smith Rock State Park, 2 miles from the property. We are 3 blocks from the center of town (Terrebonne, population 1,200) which boasts a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars, a grocery store, a gas station, a hardware store, a climbing supply store, post office, salons, etc. The railroad, along which all the main towns of Central Oregon are located, runs north and south along the bluff a few hundred feet from the property. We love the train and consider it part of the landscape and charm, but want to be clear about its existence in case its an issue for our potential guests. It passes at random hours, a couple times a day.
  • How lovely to wake up to the smell of pine and juniper and a beautiful view of Smith Rock! The vintage trailer was cozy and surprisingly quiet given the nearby train tracks. The easily accessible kitchen and bath were well stocked and there was even good beer in the fridge! Communication with Elizabeth was effortless. Highly recommended for two people looking for an affordable, unique and fun place to stay in Central Oregon.

  • Better than expected to say the least. Our hosts Beth & Duane made this one of our favorite airbnb stays so far. The location and view of Smith Rock is hard to beat. The accommodations were exactly as described, but more charming than we anticipated. We even enjoyed the occasional train passing and the 2-minute walk to the old train depot which was converted to a wonderful bar/restaurant (highly recommend their happy hour). As you approach Smith Rock (by car or two-mile hike), your expectations continue to be blown away. The park has beautiful views and great hiking and for those more adventurous, climbing and slacklining. We thoroughly enjoyed our short visit and plan to be back again. Thank you Beth and Duane!!

    Alisa2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice place to stay in a great location (slightly marred in our case by smoke from the nearby fires). The trailer is not so much “Retro” as a very well preserved original – and anyone who lived through the early 70’s will recognize the interior color scheme centered around the “avocado green” appliances (as opposed to “harvest gold”, the other cutting-edge color of the day). It’s obviously one of that era’s top of the line models with the king size bed, 4 burner gas range w/ oven and a bath tub, and everything works fine and shows little wear considering its age. A modern AC unit has been added which was fine for keeping it cool during the day. The toilet is a typical R.V. / boat type unit and for folks not familiar with the different way it works there are instructions as well as a quick demonstration provided by Elizabeth. The trailer has a 7’ ceiling height so very tall folks should take note. My husband is 6’2” and had to watch the light fixture in the bathroom. The location faces east towards a bluff on a normally very quiet residential street and has a rural kind of feel, with a small amount of road noise drifting over from US 97 depending on the wind direction, and train tracks on the bluff’s edge across the street and beyond a small field. Trains come through on no particular schedule, usually one per night and zero to one per day. That being said, the presence of the tracks means there is no development obscuring a “potentially” fantastic view of Smith Rocks and the hills behind (Elizabeth says several of the climbing routes are visible on a smoke free day). There is a nice sitting / eating area under some trees in front of the trailer situated to make the most of the view. There’s a very nice brewpub style restaurant in the converted railroad station five minutes away by foot, several other restaurants and a good-sized grocery store are a few minutes further, and Smith Rock State Park itself is about 2 miles away, a walkable distance or less than 5 minutes away by car. Elizabeth’s husband Duane pointed out several bicycling routes from their place, both road and mountain biking, and water recreation spots on the Deschutes River and Lake Billy Chinook are reasonable driving distances away. We beat the heat and smoke with an afternoon innertube float down the Deschutes from Tumalo Bridge to Twin bridges, about a 30-minute drive from the trailer.

  • This is such a cute and well taken care of home. They were very helpful and check in was super easy. I would recommend this place to anyone. I would also love to stay there again.

  • This is an excellent place for stay. My wife and my 3 young nephews loved it. Place was very clean, well kept and quite. Better than what we expected. You won't be disappointed. I would definitely stay here again if ever in town.

    Anish2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house is centrally located to hiking, shopping and other adventures available in Central Oregon. The house and surrounding area was exactly as advertised and the yard provided a perfect space for our two dogs. The hosts were fantastic and provided great suggestions for food and entertainment during our stay.

    Shannon2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Cozy Compound was clean and comfy, and included some pleasant extras. There were fresh flowers and a piano to greet us, plus comfortable beds, good coffee and separate spaces for early/late risers. Fridge was supplied with organic juice, filtered water, a fresh box of strawberries and delicious scones. The place is equipped with all necessities PLUS a washer & dryer. It also had a nice fenced yard for our two pre-approved small canines. There were other thoughtful touches like games, books and videos for all ages. The one drawback is that it sits between a highway and a railroad, so if you can't take a little background noise, move on. There were only 3 trains daily during our stay, and traffic noise wasn't an issue for us. This AirBnb is a great value for the price, and I'd highly recommend it for backpackers, hikers, and Smith Rock climbers.

    Vicki2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house was the perfect spot for us. It is inviting, clean, and nicely furnished. Plenty of room for us and space in the master to set up the pack n play for our 1 month old son. There is a chicken coop in the back, and the hosts left fresh eggs in the fridge for us. Kitchen had all needed appliances, and the hosts had provided scones, coffee, juice, butter, jam etc in the fridge. The home is located very close to the train tracks, and with the window open at night it was very loud when the train went by. Other than that, our night here was wonderful and we would certainly stay again!

    Nicole2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Guesthouse had everything you need for a comfortable stay. They even left some goodies in the fridge. Great location to lots of trails, Smith Rock, and so many other outdoor activities.

  • This rental had everything we needed and the location is great! 10 minutes to Smith Rock State Park which has been the highlight of our trip through Oregon so far. Close to Bend and the price seriously can't be beat. Thank you for all the little breakfast goodies and the beer growler! We have a white noise machine for our baby and it canceled out any train noise. The trains were super cool, btw, if you've got kids in your group they will LOVE seeing it go by! Thank you so much for being great hosts!

This cute studio apartment is perfect for just one or two people. Appropriately named "The Nest" it is quaint, artsy and tucked away high on a hill overlooking Smith Rock State Park. A pine log queen bed, whimsical paintings, and a rustic juniper breakfast bar bring the outdoors inside this unique little escape.
This little gem is located on the west end of our shop. We have two resident shop cats (T-Cat and Mich) who are very loved and well cared for but do not come in either of the two rentals on the property.
We are on a dead end road in a very quiet well maintained neighborhood with a paved access road. Homes are all on approximately 2 acres which gives the neighborhood a nice spacious feel. Speed limit on our road is 15 mph. Our area is located on a hill overlooking Terrebonne, rural farm fields and Smith Rock State Park. The Cascades, Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson are very visible as well.
  • My daughter and I stayed here during a quick climbing trip to Smith Rock. It feels like the owners had fun decorating this place -- it is very comfortable for two people and of course very convenient to both the park and really everything else in the area. Nice views of both Smith and the Sisters. The fresh eggs were a really nice extra touch. Will check this place first if I'm fortunate enough to visit again.

  • Cindy and mark are the most gracious hosts we've meet in a long time! Very friendly and communication was swift. They also have a lot of good recommendations on things to do and where to eat (go to Diegos, if mark tells you to!) it's a great place to stay if going to smith rock, which is only 10 minutes away by car. The nest was very clean when we arrived, and the fridge was stocked with fresh eggs! We enjoyed our time at the nest and hope to come back one day.

    Astrid2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is phenomenal! Amazing views, incredible hosts and plush amenities. You won't regret staying here for a minute. Wish I never had to leave.

  • Perfect quiet spot to relax after spending the day enjoying Smith Rock.

    Shirley2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a total steal. Already planning our next trip back. Check out the hike that's out back. It was about 2 miles for us and was a great way to start the day.

    Caleb2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy and Mark were great! Their communication was prompt and booking their place on short notice was no problem. The Nest is a simple, clean, and great place to stay. It is in a central location (10 min to Smith Rock and about 25 min to Bend) with beautiful views of Smith Rock, Mt. Hood, and Mt. Jefferson. We will definitely be considering The Nest for our future visits to Central Oregon!

    Race2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The nest was absolutely perfect for our trip! Relaxing and intimate ! Its located in the perfect spot to where you're close to things but still have the privacy and views of the surrounding areas. After hiking smith rock that shower was probably my favorite thing in the whole wide world besides coffee lol Everything in the nest was perfect! Cant say thank you enough for the hospitality & the egg's from the chickens :)

    Tawni2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy and Mark were great hosts. I had significant problems on my flight up to Redmond airport, and they offered to pick me up at the airport late at night and bring me back the next day if needed. Fortunately, it wasn't, but that was above and beyond. They seemed to really care that I had everything I needed. The room was clean and "outdoorsy" in decor, which is right up my alley as a biologist. The drive to a Smith Rock State Park was easy. I'd stay here again if I come back up from LA.

Modest home on Hay Farm in beautiful Central Oregon with Smith Rock views in the morning and the 7 Cascade Peaks at Sunset. Located on a scenic bike trail, this spot is close to everything you want: climbing, fishing, rafting and snowboarding, skiing
There are very few places to lodge in Terrebonne, home of Smith Rock. Central Oregon is a fantastic location with so much to experience in the outdoors! Our farm is in the heart of it. The views and tranquility of the farmland are captivating and restore the soul.
This is a small farming community. There is a wonderful grocery store and a couple of really good restaurants down the street. Smith Rock is the main attraction just 3 miles from our farm house. If you would like a social scene at night, you can go to nearby Redmond in 5 miles or Bend in 20. There are so many breweries and restaurants.
  • Enjoyed our stay in your Terrebonne home. Loved the pool table and air hockey. Lots of room and fully equipped kitchen. Could have use a microwave. Views of the mountains were awesome. Thank you for the coffee, it was a treat.

  • Tara's Farm was perfect - the house is spacious and comfortable, the field beyond (in the back windows) is relaxing, red-tailed hawks perched on the fence posts, and a bunch of big beautiful cows meandering from one patch of grass to another off in the distance. Tara was very accommodating and friendly! The bed was comfortable, kitchen big and functional. Everything was great and we'd definitely stay again.

    Paul2015-10-26T00:00:00Z

  • This was an excellent home for my boys and I to stay in. We enjoyed playing pool and air hockey. We played soccer in the field outside. The view and sunrises and sunsets were incredible. Close to Smith Rock!

  • Tara was always a text away and it was a lovely home. Unfortunately the PS2 was broken so we didn't have any netflix/online movies for the kiddos but it worked out ok. I asked Tara about it and she said she'd pick up a new one but that seemed wasteful to us so we declined. Very big house, perfect for our large group. Lots of time spent with the pool table and air hockey.

    Kassi2015-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tara was easy to communicate with and the house was perfect for the 8 of us. The house is secluded but in close proximity to a small town that had a grocery store and everything you'd need. We used the house as a base for Bend and Crater Lake and it was perfect. Place was clean and all of us were very happy with our stay at Taras!

  • Communication from host was great, location was great and the room was perfect for a couples relaxing weekend. Great value for the area and proximity to Smith Rock and Bend was perfect.

    Nic2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Big and cozy space to relax and take in a great view. Hot tub and wood stove were perfect for the snowy night we spent there. We will be back!

  • Janet was friendly, helpful and just a wonderful person. The place was the best with beautiful accomodations and artwork. Everything you could need or more. The special prize were the miniature donkeys and the hot tub. Love it!!!

    Dorinda2015-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great great experience! Just in time for the snow, very pretty. The road is pretty decent to drive even with a little it of snow and ice. Super close to the smith rock, which is very beautiful in snow. Hot tub is warm and an unique experience! Definitely recommend!

  • This place is a dream! Great couple get away.

    corey2017-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cozy little space, with views of Smith Rocks across snowy fields. Janet was wonderful and after our introduction to the space, we were given 100% privacy with the option to contact her if we needed anything at all. If you go in the winter, do yourself a favor and play a round of backgammon in front of the woodstove! What a cozy room and wonderful local getaway. Warm blankets, morning coffee, the sunrise over Smith Rocks and the hot tub all made for a perfect weekend for this busy downtown Seattle couple. :) Thank you Janet and Eric! ~Destiny and Justin

    Destiny2016-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • This studio was the perfect spot for a weekend climbing trip at Smith Rock! We even enjoyed our rain day with board games and ample use of the wood stove. Thanks Janet!

    Adam2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at this room! It truly is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore Bend as well as hike/climb at Smith Rock. The room is very spacious and clean and the hot tub is a nice treat at the end of the day. All in all a great place and we would very much enjoy staying there again in the future!

Beautiful custom home perched on rim rock with stunning natural views. Located on 6 acres of basalt rock and pasture, and less than one mile from Smith Rock State Park, the crown jewel of Central Oregon. Perfectly located, just 15 minutes from the Redmond airport (RDM) and just 30 minutes from Bend, Madras, and Sisters.
This home is large and inviting with lots of natural light and incredible views from nearly every room. Perched upon the bluff of an extinct caldera, the home is situated to take advantage of the views of nearby Smith Rock and the Ochoco Mountains. Located at the end of a sparsely populated road less than five minutes outside of Terrebonne. Redmond, Bend, Sisters and Madras are all within a short drive from here. Resident wildlife includes deer, marmots, foxes, rabbits, and coyotes. Birds frequently fly over the bluff in view of the amazing breakfast nook, including quail, ravens, turkey vultures, red tailed hawk, and even the occasional bald eagle. The master suite upstairs occupies the entire second floor, with a private deck overlooking the valley below. Two bedrooms downstairs have Queen beds and a queen-sized Aero bed will be made available if needed. Guests have full access to the main living quarters, however, the garage of the main house has been converted to a small apartment and is occupied. Access between the two living areas is fully secured. Also on the six-acre property is a detached garage with guest house above that is occupied.
The closest airport, Redmond Municipal Airport, is a 15 minute drive from here. The home is surrounded by 5 acre rural properties with custom homes, yet is within 2 miles of a small grocery store, gas station, and four eateries.
  • The views from this home are just amazing! We stayed the weekend for the once in a lifetime Total Solar Eclipse! The home's location was perfect! The hospitality of the hosts were awesome, they left our family a welcome basket that our kids enjoyed so much! The home had everything we needed for a wonderful and comfortable stay.

  • This was a fun getaway. They were very accommodating and the pictures truly depicted everything!

    MaKenna2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Matt were really gracious hosts! The tent was very cozy and clean. The outdoor shower was really luxurious, including the fluffy towels and robes. There were lots of little details like extra firewood left for us, a cooler of beer and water, good coffee. The bed is really, really comfortable and there's even a mosquito net around the bed to help keep bugs out. It was a great night's sleep. We left early the next morning to hike at Smith Rock, which is a really short 5-10 minute drive from the tent. I highly recommend staying here!

    Brooke2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Camptique was exactly what we had hoped for and even more. Such thought and attention to detail went in to everything - from the bathroom set up to the beers in the mini fridge. Thank you for a great time!

    Michelle2015-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most amazing "glamping" experience! A beautiful, large backyard in the picturesque countryside of Terrebone. Tire swings hanging from trees and chickens and cats and dogs! I couldn't have asked for a more picturesque stay. We loved the heated blankets added to our heavenly comfortable bed. There was even coffee and cream available for our breakfast! The bathroom is extremely clean and charming. Stephanie was also so helpful and gave us many great local tips- we loved adventuring around Smith Rock park with a few of her tips about which trails to take. We felt right at home in Stephanie and Matt's yard. What an amazing experience!

    Rachel2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at Camptique and loved it. Matt greeted us and showed us around, which was very welcoming. It was quite chilly during our stay, so having the wood stove was fabulous. The bed was very cozy, the robes were a luxurious touch and we loved having the "feel" of camping without actually roughing it :) There were beers and water left for us in the mini fridge, and Matt and Stephanie loaned us their state park pass as we had told them we were going to Smith Rock. They were perfect hosts - attentive but respectful of our privacy. All in all, an excellent experience and we'd definitely stay again!

    Lily2015-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Matt were the perfect Airbnb hosts! They helped get settled in an even brought beer for my husband and blueberries and orange juice for me (because I am pregnant). The glamping experience was FABULOUS!!! We would definitely love to stay here again! I really recommend this place to others!

    Jamie2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was truly a great place to stay! Stephanie was incredibly welcoming and very helpful with fun things to do in the area! The tent and facilities are really comfortable with the perfect balance of camping but feeling like you're at a hotel! There's no doubt that if we go back to terrebonne, we would gladly stay here again! Super safe! Fun! Close to Smith Rock and ab 15 minutes from Bend! I highly recommend it!

    Katie2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This set up is absolutely stunning and exactly as portrayed in the pictures! The landscape surrounding Stephanie and Matt's property is beautifully bucolic and relaxing and Stephanie herself was a genuine and welcoming. I was in love with the outdoor shower and even the swanky port-a-potty! Not to mention the bed was so comfortable that I considered abandoning all obligations for the next day to sleep in. All around a charming experience and one I would recommend without reservations.

  • Glamping, a must do! What a unique idea and Jeremy was a fantastic host. He greeted us in the driveway and we could see the tent all lit up and welcoming in the backyard. Once inside it looked almost romantic and was full of the cutest most thoughtful touches; chocolate, pez, beer, water etc. The outside shower was clean and perfect and it was hands down the cleanest port-a-potty I've ever used. Jeremy also greeted us on our departure. Just a sweet guy.

    Laura2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome! This was my second time staying here, and it was as charming as the first time. Super close to Smith Rock and all the other great parts of Central Oregon. About 25 minutes to Bend. I will say, the earwigs are fierce at night...if you're squeamish, bring a bug net! But it is glamping after all. :)

    Amanda2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our time at Jeremy's was amazing! We were visiting while the weather was off and on, but the canvas tent was amazing during it! At night, the rain sounded so relaxing. It was the perfect middle ground between hotel and camping. Jeremy was an amazing host for our stay! He responded very quickly to messages and greeted us when we arrived on our first night. It was a completely private stay, but with a cozy outdoor touch. We will definitely be back next time we are in the Bend area! Also, the sheets on the king size bed were soo soft and amazing!!

    Sarah2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome! I'm used to primitive camping, so this place was luxurious. The bed was super comfy and plenty warm enough with the heater and electric blankets turned on. Rinsed off in the outdoor shower before dawn and the hot water available made it perfect. We didn't get the chance to meet Jeremy, but he left some snacks and drinks for us that made our trip complete. Already recommended it to some fellow climbers at Smith Rock. If I'm back out that way anytime I would definitely stay again!

    Savannah2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet getaway for a busy couple. Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way.

    Laurie2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Very clean. Very flexible with check-in and check-out.

    Jessica2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Jeremy's place. It was great for a weekend away. A luxurious version of camping. The bed was extremely comfortable and we stayed warm throughout the whole night. The outdoor shower and sink were great, and very warm water, quickly! We definitely want to stay there again and make it a yearly excursion.

    Hailey2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • So many great things to say about this listing! All of the basics were covered (cleanliness, accurate description, easy check in, etc) and there were so many details that we loved including robes (fantastic for the outdoor shower), wood for the fire pit, water in the mini fridge, wifi access and so much more. We heard an owl at night, enjoyed the mountain views, cozied into the cloud-like bed (complete with heated blanket) and utilized the coffee maker and outdoor grill. If you're thinking of visiting this Airbnb, I highly recommend it! Perfect glamping getaway.

  • This is my second time I've stayed at Kathy and Scott's apartment. Both times have been fantastic experiences! Kathy and Scott are absolutely delightful people! The apartment is not only homey and cozy but very clean. It is furnished with a microwave, coffee pot (with coffee), dishes, sink, nice counter space, refrigerator, choice of two twin beds or I believe a queen (maybe a king), beautiful views, not to mention a very peaceful setting. I would much, much rather stay here any day over the hustle and bustle of a hotel room along side a busy highway. Kathy and Scott make every effort to make sure our experience is nothing but the best! I highly recommend!!!

    Kim2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy and Scott's studio was seriously a cool place to stay! Located within Redmond, surrounded by beautiful mountains and Smith Rock State Park, it is serene and convenient. Scott installed a lot of cool gadgets to make the apartment super convenient and trendy. He also is a coffee aficionado and offered to make us a cup before we left! Really appreciated their hospitality and enjoyed every aspect of our stay at this studio. Probably the best airbnb I have been to!

    Maya2016-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy and Scott have outdone themselves. There isn't anything I would change about their suite. It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. They were extremly accommodating from communication to giving a tour of the suite upon arrival. The only thing I wish was that I would have stayed longer! : )

    jenna2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great AirBnB. We are repeat guests of Kathy and Scott's and look forward to our next stay. It is a wonderful well-appointed, modern space with all conveniences. It is peaceful and private. The hosts are easily available but do not disturb guests. Instructions are available and description of space is accurate. Another great stay...

    Gene2016-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy and Scott were really quick to reply to any of our questions. They have even added a fridge which was handy. The views were amazing, especially watching the sunrise. Everything was just as pictured. This was exactly what we were looking for during our quiet weekend away. We would definitely recommend staying here!

  • My boyfriend and had a lovely stay with Mike and Carolyn. They are the most gracious and friendly hosts you could hope for--and the house and property are gorgeous. The house is near all the restaurants in the area as well as the local grocery store and of course smith rock and the hiking trails. And the breakfast is fabulous.

  • Such beautiful views and lovely hosts.

  • CJ and Mike are incredible hosts and have a stunning property. They worked with us to make sure our booking and check in process was seamless and acommodated our change of travel plans with a very positive attitude (early check in and stay extension). We had such a great time that we extended our stay purely to hang out with CJ and Mike. The property is a modern loft style cabin overlooking the Smith Rock state park. The views of three sisters, Mt. Jefferson and the Smith Rock area are breathtaking. You have a clear view of the sunset over these mountains and it is BEAUTIFUL. The room we stayed in had a really comfortable mattress and pillows. There is ample space in the room for storing all belongings in the closet. In the room, CJ has left many maps, magazines and guide books for all kinds of activities in the Bend/ Central Oregon region. She advised we float down the Deschutes River in Bend and we had such a blast. Every morning, CJ made us the best breakfast we ever had. A big bowl of fresh fruit, beautifuly decorated with flowers from her garden. There was freshmade scones and biscuits, orange juice, coffee and eggs! We certainly gained weight from this trip. We had family style dinner with CJ and Mike 2 out of 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. CJ and Mike have many fantastic stories of skiing, mountaineering and world traveling that blew our mind. It felt like we could sit and chat with them forever. We surely made friends for life on this trip and can't wait to return in the near future. Highly recommend CJ and Mike's Smith Rock Paradise - best AirBnB experience!

  • Cj and Mike are very kind and welcoming. They made us feel right at home the moment we arrived. They have a lovely home and are well versed in what is available in the area. The view is truly breathtaking from their home and Smith rock is just a few minutes away. This was such a wonderful anniversary weekend for us. Thank you Cj and Mike :)

We slept one night while it was high 90s outside during the day but the night was cool and the AC really helped. The ranch is very nice and quiet and we enjoyed having breakfast with an amazing view. One mile from Smith Rock State Park & 30 minutes from Bend, Fallen Snag Lodge will be your very own private nature preserve. A wrap around deck faces the Marsupial rock formations & Crooked river, with lounge chairs set to view hawks, turkey vultures & eagles during the day & for stargazing at night. Ideal for one or two couples wanting to get away from it all in a beautifully appointed, comfortable lodge set in central Oregon's magnificent high desert landscape.
I originally purchased Fallen Snag ten years ago because of my love of climbing & it's proximity to Smith Rock State Park. But over time, I have come to embrace what Terry Tempest Williams evokes in her poem Wild Mercy: "To protect what is wild is to protect what is gentle. Perhaps the wildness we fear is the pause between our own heartbeats, the silent space that says we live only by grace. Wilderness lives by this same grace. Wild mercy is in our hands." Given that I live in the Seattle area, I am pleased to be able to share this wonderful refuge with like minded others. The lodge itself has two separate, private bedroom suites, each w/ a Queen sized bed & its own private bathroom & shower, and sliding door access to the deck or patio. There is also a bonus room w/ sofa & desk w/ sliding opaque glass doors. It can be used as a reading room or overflow for a sofa-surfing child or guest. The gourmet kitchen has a gas fired stove & oven, frig, dishwasher & is fully furnished w/ pots & pans, cooking utensils & a complete set of dishes, glasses & cutlery for up to 8 people. The dining room seats 6, while the adjacent kitchen countertop seats 4. The living room comes w/ a sofa, 2 easy chairs, and a high efficiency compact Norwegian wood stove. Well water is filtered & purified. The house is well insulated and is relatively cool in the summer given it's northern exposure, w/ windows open at night + fans running in the living/dining room, bonus room & master bedroom suite. Guests have access to the powder room (across from the front door entrance) through which there is a door to the utility room. A washer/dryer in the alcove next to the dining room are accessible via sliding doors. There is adequate parking in the driveway roundabout.
  • If you're looking for a place to get away to, then look no further. The house is designed around a view of Smith Rock State Park, and it's absolutely beautiful! The house was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our group consisting of 2 couples. We cooked a couple of our meals there, but also spent time in Bend...just a short drive away. The house is also perfect for access to Smith Rock for hiking, mountain climbing, etc. I certainly recommend Fallen Snag Lodge. One of my favorite Airbnbs. We will be back!

  • Menno called shortly after I booked the house and was very helpful with directions, points of interest, and suggestions on things to see in the area. The house is lovely, with a fantastic layout, large roomy bathrooms, and a great kitchen for cooking. The views from every room in the house are stunning, and he location is very peaceful and private.

  • I can't say enough about our experience at Fallen Snag Lodge! The home itself is beautiful, warm, comfortable and inviting. We had a gorgeous view of Smith Rock and thoroughly enjoyed our time climbing and biking. Our host was remarkably responsive and available to answer any questions and provide us with details for recreation in the surrounding area. We would definetly stay here again.

  • This is a beautiful house just down the road from Smith Rock State Park. The house has a gorgeous view of the Marsupial area of the park and is a great base camp for climbing, hiking or biking as well as just for relaxing with nature. Super clean and peaceful abode!

    Laura2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Snag is a slice of heaven in a secluded spectacular location. We spent a week climbing at Smith and returning after long days on the rock, the house was a relaxing, clean, and comfortable oasis. Menno was quickly available when we had questions and the local beer and wine chilled in the fridge was a treat. The snag had everything we needed - we will be back!
