“There is a great visitor center and easy access to viewing platforms if you are not interested in hiking. You can also tackle the steps to take you down to a closer view of the gorge. You can hike to the floor and traverse the bottom of the gorge and come back up the other side- but you must register at the ranger station and get their early because they only allow about 100 hikers down to the bottom each day.”

“Float down section II of the Chattooga River in your own raft, canoe, kayak, or inner tube! Lovely and serene, with a few fun little rapids to run. Make sure you check the water levels ahead of time! Low water levels can make for a very long day on the river if you float it without a paddle.”

“Great walking paths and hiking trails. Can take an easy walk to overlooks or strenuous hikes. Your choice. If you want to hike to the bottom of the gorge you must make reservations ahead of time as they only allow a certain number of people per day.”

“This is the nearest place to take garbage and recycling if headed south from the lake. Disregard the signs about no out of county garbage - if anyone questions you, just tell them you have been staying at the lake.”

“Tallulah Gorge, a 1,000-foot (300 m) deep gorge formed by the action of the Tallulah River. The major attractions of the gorge are the six waterfalls known as the Tallulah Falls, which cause the river to drop 500 feet over one mile.”
