Ferns place was all we needed. Her pets were really friendly and she was very hospitable

Myself and 4 of my friend's stayed at Fern's overnight. Her home was on a beautiful street just outside the heart of Syracuse with easy accessibility to SU. We were in town primarily to spend time with friends that went to SU and were mostly at Fern's only to sleep. Fern is an incredibly kind woman that is willing to accommodate you in seemingly anyway possible. She lives there with her daughter, her cat who we only saw when leaving, and her adorable, loving dog Katie. The room was perfect for the 5 of us to sleep in and there was enough room to move around freely, though if you plan on spending a lot of time in the room with 5 people (the maximum she allows in any room), it might feel a little cluttered. There was a fridge, a coffee pot, snacks and very comfortable sleeping arrangements. We would gladly stay with Fern again.

Comfortable, and relaxing. All we hoped for and more!!! Friendly host, and our daughter LOVED all the special touches...pillows, snacks and meeting the dog! A perfect central stop for our trip.

Fern's place was exactly as advertised--cozy and a great place to crash for the night on the way to the airport. No frills, but she adds details such as fresh towels, shampoo, snacks, recommendations for food and transportation, and a warm welcome that make this place an excellent value. I would stay here again.

Fern is the sweetest, most caring host! Our door got stuck right before leaving for a concert on Wescott St, and she fixed it for us so we could leave and be on time. She is also very useful for information about the town and how to get around. Her cat, Frenchie, loved us and snuggled a bunch, and her dog, Katie, is a cutie. I definitely recommend this airbnb if you love animals!

Fern was great and very personable. We arrived late evening and Fern was quite accommodating. Room was as described and bed was comfortable. Bathroom reminded me of my mother in laws. Not a typical shower head, but a handheld shower head. It worked great. fern has a lovely dog who is very friendly. At one point he jumped into bed with our son. Fern's home is less than 10 minutes from SU. Highly recommend a stay at Ferns

Room could've been cleaner, i.e. floor swept as there was trash under the bed and behind the fridge. We got stuck in the room twice because the door knob was broken. Fern said that it needs to be adjusted once a month; however it happened to us two times during our stay. Bathroom door sticks and you have to pull it open really hard. Fern said that it's 2 to 3 weeks out of the year that the door sticks but I'm not so sure about that. When you enter the home you are in a breezeway. It was very cluttered and it smelled like cat litter. First impressions of the house when we pulled up were not that great. Trash was visible in the driveway. Not just barrels, but some trash on the ground and an old appliance. Just not a good first impression. You do share a bathroom with other people, but if all rooms are full it could be anywhere between 4 to 12 people. There is only one bathroom so that could cause issues. Bathroom could've been cleaner. There was gross old soap in the soap dishes. The "mattress" mentioned under the bed is really flimsy and doesn't give much support, if any. My friend folded it in half to get a comfortable night sleep the second night. Fern and her daughter were lovely people. Her daughter even offered to walk our dogs if we were gone for an extended period of time. We were there for a dog show so they were with us all the time anyways, but it was a sweet offer. The amenities she provides are great. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste. And the brands are high-quality. She also leaves snacks in your room. Many were gluten-free which was a bonus for us because my friend needs gluten-free. The park across the street that she mentions is nice. Wasn't totally great weather while we were there but we were able to walk our dogs around there. We also didn't really have a lot of time to do that. But it would've been nice to walk in the park if we had had the time and it was good weather. Some nice restaurants around the area. Fern also leaves a ton of take-out menus and suggests restaurants. She also has a board you can write information about restaurants that you visited that the other guests may be interested in. She also provides information about how to get around by taxi or public transportation. Would we go back? No. But perhaps if Fern takes the suggestions in our review it could be a better place for the next guests.

Another nice stay with Gretchen. We had a nice breakfast, that we made in the kitchen and ate in the dinning room.

Host was accommodating. I came late, Gretchen was there to welcoms me. The room was great, comfortable, and clean. Also allowed me my own privacy and recommeneded a few spots to eat. Would stay again and very close to campus.

Gretchen was great. She was very responsive to all forms of communication (text, call, email, etc). The house was very clean and offered everything I would want and more! She also has a pretty sweet parrot that hangs out on her shoulder sometimes. The location was great close to SU, close to restaurants, and two parks for runs/walks. If youre visiting Syracuse, stay here!

I've stayed at Gretchen's place three times now and am always pleased! Gretchen is friendly and kind, and the neighborhood is quiet and walkable to SU and the Westcott business district. I highly recommend staying here, whether you're in Syracuse for business or fun.

Gretchen's home is a very comfortable, clean, and quiet place to stay. I chose the location for its proximity to the Syracuse campus, which is walkable in about 20 minutes. The check-in instructions were easy to comprehend, the house and rooms were very clean and tidy, and overall I had an incredibly pleasant experience. Gretchen helped me make coffee in the morning and was very kind and fun to chat with. I highly recommend her as a host, and this location for a comfortable stay in Syracuse!

Ed's mansion was very spacious and had a nice relaxed atmosphere about it. If I were to visit Syracuse again I would definitely look to Ed for an opening.

The house is conveniently located just outside of the downtown area. A short walk can take you to the Oncenter Convention center. Also the location is a simple drive from the main highway. The house was built in the 1800's and has wonderful stained glass windows and exquisite woodworking decorating the hallways. Yet, the house has been updated. The bathroom and heating system have both been brought up to todays standards. It was warm and comfortable on a cold night with temperature down to the single digits.

What a magnificent old house & what a delightful host Ed is.

We had a beautiful stay at Ed's place. We booked a massage and relaxed in the Jacuzzi then had a lovely dinner in Armory Square. I will definitely remember this place next time I need a relaxing weekend. The house was beautiful I would absolutely recommend staying here!

We had a nice time at the spa. The futon bed was very comfortable for two adults and we enjoyed the freedom of coming and going as we pleased. Felt comfortable and welcome.

This was my 3rd stay in Syracuse but my first with Victor. My first stay was a bed and breakfast with unclean towels. My second stay was at the Crown Plaza which was loud and the only clean thing in the room was the towels. Victor's place was perfect. We slept great because it is a very quiet neighborhood and it was very clean! I would definitely stay there again.

I had a very comfortable stay(1 week) at Victor's home. He offered me free upgrade to a room with hall and a personal bath. Both the room and hall had TV's(had cable, netflix, hulu, other apps) and the area was recently renovated. The location of the house was really good (about 1.5 miles from Syracuse University and 2 miles from SUNY upstate). There was a bus stop on the road behind the house which made my daily travel very easy. Kitchen was shared and had all the necessary utensils. An organic grocery store is just next door. Also another grocery store is about 10 minutes walk from the place. Overall its one of the best places to stay in Syracuse.

Victor was an excellent host - responsive, friendly, and very accommodating. I was able to check in at my convenience due to a keypad on the front door, and checkout was also very flexible. The "room" was basically a suite, with my own bathroom and living space, and everything was very clean and neat. Less than 10 min from Upstate Med University - I'd highly recommend Victor's place for others interviewing there!

I had an excellent stay at Anil's place. The location is great and the home itself is clean and updated. Anil is also super helpful, friendly and available. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Syracuse area. It is especially convenient if you are without transportation.

Can't rate high enough. Anil is gracious, friendly, well-traveled, and extremely accommodating. His place is artfully decorated and immaculately clean, as well as FULL of amenities for his guests. He graciously switches bedrooms for 2 or more guests, giving you a spacious view of Armory square. He was also gracious enough to let us stay a little bit later with regards to checkout time, no problem. Any future trips to Syracuse will definitely be booked with him!

Anil was a great host and his place is wonderful. Not only was check-in a breeze, but he's able to get you in remotely, so it doesn't matter whether he's there or not. Directions were clear, apt. is really nice. He has nice pictures of his terrace, but note that not only is it a clean, relaxing space but it's on the 2nd floor. So you have no foot traffic except tenants. Street parking can be an issue, but it's mostly free weekends if you find a space and if you can't, there's a secure parking lot 1 block away for $8-10 per 24 hours. Apt. is above a restaurant, in Armory Square, with countless other restaurants/bars and shops you simply walk around to. Apt. is spotless, BR is very comfortable, and Anil welcomes you to simply treat his apt. with respect; otherwise, take your shoes off and relax! Highly recommended for short or long-term, all year long.

Best location and friendly host!

Paid parking available a short distance away. We found it hard to find a free space in front of apartment. Anil is a very nice host who shared his bedroom, bathroom and couch with us for a night. The best part is being close to a very interesting, unique niche shopping district filled with brewerys and bakeries. Some distant noise from active nightlife below filtered into our room. All things considered, we would stay with Anil again, because he is a 5-star host. He made us feel very welcome, comfortable and safe. Great experience!

I have stayed with Anil four times now and have always enjoyed it. He is always very helpful with recommendations about the area and he responds quickly to every message. He always makes sure that the check in is very easy as well. I'll definitely stay with him the next time I am in Syracuse. If you are looking to have a lot of good restaurants and bar, this is the place to be.

Betsy was a nice host and helpful host. We were on road trip from chicago to new york city and had to do a short rest stop in Syracuse. The place was nice and indeed a close drive to things to check out in Syracuse.!

It is a quiet and safe community, however, you need drive to the close grocery. the description is accurate and the apt have everything you need. Susan and Reg is very friendly and great people. The only thing is the wifi signal are not working in the middle of our stay. But Susan try very hard to fix it. A nice place to stay in.

The two room apartment unit was the perfect size for the weekend trip my girlfriend and I rented it for. Susan and Raghav were great, friendly hosts; we took them up on an offer of a place at their board game table and had a great time!

It's always great to get what you're expecting, and this apartment was just what I needed. The location is excellent for Syracuse University, the flat was comfortable and well equipped, and the hosts were friendly, available, and flexible.

We had a wonderful stay at this location. The space was exactly as advertised and perfect for our needs. The hosts could not have been more accommodating; including greeting us upon arrival at 1230am! They were more than gracious. Upon learning that we enjoyed authentic Indian cuisine, Raghav provided us with a beautiful dish to sample for dinner. The cooking alone warranted a 5/5 review! We will definitely return for our next visit!

Susan has gone to exceptional lengths to make the apartment as cozy and comfortable as possible.
