  • We had a fabulous one night stay here. The cottage is well designed, the bathroom is huge with funky tiles, large shower and deep bath. Kitchen is well equipped and Gilli leaves a welcome pack of organic bread and beautiful home made marmalade. The hot tub is a huge bonus, we had a sunny soak in the afternoon then back again in the dark to study the stars. The King Arthur is a short walk, good food and lovely atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will visit again and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore Gower

This 18th Century Grade 2 Listed renovated Chapel provides a lovely and airy place for a couple to spend some quality time. The Chapel still contains the stain glass windows along with the pews now being utilised as the wooden floor. The open plan kitchen and living room focus on the vast log burner which blends seamlessly into the mezzanine floor containing a double bed and shower room over looking the vast living room space .
The vast floor space and high ceilings lend Y Chapel to spending time round the vast log burner in the winter months. In the summer months the close proximity to the beautiful beaches of the Gower, most reachable within 15 minutes, means you will want to keep returning to explore the area tome and time again.
A lovely rural setting nestled in the heart of the Gower providing quick access to the many beautiful beaches.

You’ll have a bedroom, ensuite shower room and your own private separate kitchenette in our colourful Californian style bungalow. Both rooms lead off the front door which we don’t use so you don’t have to enter the main part of the house unless you wish to. We are in a convenient & quiet location for visiting Mumbles, Gower and Swansea; it’s 5 min walk from beach & coast path, 10 min from shops, cafes & bars of Mumbles & 10 min drive to the Uni. Free Parking next to house.
You’ll be staying in a cosy bedroom with a very comfortable double bed and a private ensuite shower room concealed behind a mirrored door. The chairs and headboard are upholstered in Caroline’s own textile designs and one wall of the room is taken up by fitted wardrobes which you can use to store your luggage and clothes in during your stay. We have recently installed a separate private kitchenette with a sink, fridge, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery opposite the bedroom. It’s fully functional but it’s a work in progress as I take the time in between hosting to hand decorate the walls! Both the bedroom and kitchenette are at the front of the house next to the front door. We don’t use the front door and to give you more privacy we keep the inner door to the main house closed. As some guests have commented its like having your own private suite! You’ll have your own set of keys and you don’t need to enter the main house unless you wish to sit in the garden. Our property was built by an architect as his own home in the 1960's. He’d spent some time in California and the design and layout is inspired by a Californian bungalow, the type you see in a David Hockney painting! It is built around an outdoor swimming pool which takes up most of the garden and the south facing verandah gets so hot in the summer sun that we grow our own grapes. You’re welcome to sit in the garden. Please note that the pool is not fenced off so the property is not suitable for very young children. The house has been featured in many publications - as a progressive project during and shortly after it's construction and more recently for it's beautiful setting and unusual and colourful interior. It was also in an article entitled 'Airbnb in Wales: 17 of the most beautiful, quirky and interesting places you can stay' Our hosting experience was published in the Airbnb UK Insight report 2018. We also have another ensuite bedroom in our house on Airbnb which is occasionally available. It’s called ‘Artists studio with en-suite nr beach and village’ This is the link https://www.airbnb.com/h/californiainwales
If you want a few days to relax, walk, eat, drink and leave your car, the beaches, coastal path, castle and village of Mumbles are all close by. We are in a convenient location on a very quiet road road with easy access to the amenities of the area. Turn left out of the front door and it takes 5-10 minutes to walk to Rotherslade Beach which is sandy and pebbly with a cafe serving breakfast, lunch and coffee all day. 5 minutes walk round the corner to the right is Langland Bay which is a larger sandy beach, popular with surfers and paddle boarders. It is renowned for it's beach huts, palm trees and Surfside cafe on the beach. There is also a good restaurant, Langland Brasserie, at the far end which has an outside deck and is great to sit outside on a warm summers evening. If you continue on the coastal path, it'll take you about 40 mins to walk from Langland to Caswell beach where there is another cafe on the beach. If you're lucky you may see some seals on the way! Turn right out of the front door and within 10 minutes you'll be in Mumbles with a good selection of shops, cafes, bars, Oystermouth Castle, and Joes Ice Cream. The closest access to the coastal path is at Rotherslade Beach from where you can walk around the Gower Peninsula, taking in Caswell, Oxwich, Rhossili and Llangennith. If you have less time you can walk the cliff path in the opposite direction and head towards Mumbles, taking in the Lighthouse, pier and lifeboat house on the way. There is a list of restaurants, cafes and bars in your room along with plenty of maps and information on the area and suggestions of where to visit. If you fancy surfing we can recommend the Progress Surf School in LLangennith which provides all the equipment and lessons for groups and individuals. If you are staying to visit Swansea University or Singleton Hospital the walk along the prom will take about 40 mins or 10 mins in the car.
  • Caroline and Brian's place is so lovely. I felt safe and at home and the house is so beautifully and uniquely decorated. They were so hospitable and welcoming, truly lovely people. We stayed in March for only 1 night and the only negative is that we couldn't stay longer! Rotherslade beach is gorgeous and a short walk from the house, there is a direct bus into Swansea just outside of the house and you can walk easily into Mumbles - the location is perfect!! Thank you so much Caroline and Brian, we hope to be back soon!

  • Loved our stay with Neil! Such a quirky location with stunning views. Neil made our stay feel like we’re old friends! He even taxied me about in the wettest storm ever!! What a guy. Thanks again Neil!!!

  • We loved our stay here, it had everything we needed for one night, and everywhere was within a close driving distance. The King Arthur Hotel and The Beach House at Oxwich Bay were both amazing places to eat out at. And being within such close driving distances of the beaches was great. I'm sure we will be back to visit the Gower again soon and would not hesitate to stay and also recommend Neil's place!

    Lynsey2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely annexe in the heart of the Gower. We saw wild ponies on the marshes as we drove down. Neil and Sally are so hospitable and kind, we really felt like welcomed guests. We had a lovely walk on nearby Oxwich Bay and Neil had plenty of recommendations for eateries etc. He also offered to drive us to our car in the morning if we’d wanted to have a few drinks. The space is clean and comfortable and has everything you need, including a spacious fridge, crockery and a sink for washing up (separate from bathroom). We will be returning, hopefully for longer next time. Thanks for a memorable weekend guys! 😊

  • Great little spot from which to explore the Gower from. The wood burner does a really good job too. Communication and responsiveness was great. Parking is very easy. Scenic views as soon as you step outside. Definitely recommend for a short stay on the Gower Peninsula.

  • Great place to stay right on the estuary - very comfortable, everything you need, and very clean. Didn’t realise that there were no cooking facilities there, but made no difference really! The hosts were very friendly, we enjoyed a glass of wine in their lovely home, and they were more than happy to help us with taxi firms etc. Very comfortable bed, amazing log burner, plenty of hot water (much appreciated after a long day walking the incredible beaches of the Gower coast, and exploring the castle ruins). Highly recommend this little guest house. And definitely recommend a cwtch from Dot the dog! Thank you both!

  • Beautiful accomodation in such a beautiful part of the world. I went to get away and clear some head space and the holiday here really helped, the hot tub is lovely with a roof for the rainy days. Really appreciate how easy everything was and the privacy the hosts gave me

    Callum2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage. The underfloor heating made it really cozy so it was lovely to return to after cold and windy walks. Some beautiful dog friendly walks from the doorstep and stunning surrounding countryside. Thanks Matt and Lara for a lovely stay

**NEW BOILER FITTED OCT 2019** Our house has been lovingly hand made using reclaimed materials and a unique, inventive design. We have an open fire in the living area to keep you cosy and in the winter evenings Outside we have a large garden space with multiple seating areas and a BBQ for those long summer nights Our home is perfect for a cosy romantic getaway, a catch-up with old friends or for a family treehouse adventure, kidds love it! We allow dogs but charge £10 per dog that stays 😊
Home of the designer builder of the solar showers and recycling ‘Reclaimator’ at Glastonbury from late 1980’s and first ‘Green Gatherings’ Passive solar designed for natural winter heating/summer cooling and a TMSthermalstore Our Beautiful Eco-Home, nestled in the treetops of Three Cliffs Bay, will tantalize your senses and make you feel OH so at home. Hand made from logs and recycled materials - There is love in the walls. Designed to maximise internal space but minimise the external (for energy reasons) – Is truly like an eco ‘tardis’ The house is 4+ bedroom, however not in the conventional sense - Two bedrooms are on upper mezzanines (hence the 4 dbl beds) and the 5th bed is a single in a cozy annexe snug. Be aware that the house is open plan and privacy limited - so if you are all on holiday 'together' as a group - one big family, then Treetops is perfect! Just let the tree trunks and flickering flames from the open fire sparkle the earth pigment lime washed walls to create a timeless atmosphere! Space - I lived here happily with my partner and two kids for many years, and we have even had groups of 10+ people stay. Kitchen - recently refurbished, open-plan so you are all together, with fridge, toaster, kettle and a new oven & hob (2019) - enough equipment to cook up delicious dinners! Bathroom - shower with water heated from solar, wood or gas. Cosy & homely, and perfect to wash the sand off beachy feet. Bedrooms - Two downstairs bedrooms, both sunny and bright, with curved hand carved walls and beautiful wood. Two mezzanines, one alice-in-wonderland, up a spiral staircase, which kids absolutely love. The other over-looking the sitting area, for more responsible monkeys, and a grand view of all that is going on. Outdoor - There is a open patio with a large table, a barbeque, outdoor fire pit, and large outdoor sink..perfect for washing wetsuits! Also surfboard storage, padlock points for bikes (cable type locks needed) and covered places to drip dry wetsuits & clothes. The garden sweeps upwards over terraces, spaces for yoga, apple trees and paths of sea shells. Our home makes a beautiful romantic getaway for couples, wine in hand, logs crackling on the fire and with no disturbances. For families, Treetops is a weird and wonderful adventure house, children love the magic of the mezzanines, the tree trunks running through the house and the excitement of the open fire, more communal than televisions! The open plan space allows for a real sense of togetherness. It is also wonderful for groups of friends meeting to catch up and have a good time! However we must add that we are not the house to use for a wild party as we must respect our neighbours. Sound travels to their house quite easily so noise must be kept to a minimum during the night. I.e. no loud music... Sorry!!
Treetops is more or less as close as you can get by car to Three Cliffs Bay. You can walk to the famous Pennard castle with it's glorious sunset views over the river and beach, within 5 minutes. The beach is then a further ten minutes from there. Around the corner is another beautiful beach, Pobbles. By car you can quickly and easily access all of Gower's award winning beaches. Treetops is on Sandy Lane, famous for it's hippy vibes, open minded and down to earth people, its green spaces and quirky hand built homes. It is a special place, famous to many people, and a real getaway from the hustle and bustle of normal life. An experience in itself! Nearby are farmers markets, the busy fishing village of Mumbles, with many shops, cafe's and restaurants, and the Gower Heritage Centre. Pubs are within walking distance (one only 5 minutes away, perfect!) Padlock points for bikes (cable type locks needed)

  • A lovely stylish apartment in an amazing location. Arrived to thoughtful treats left by Ian and enjoyed spending our time walking the coastal path, exploring Mumbles and admiring the amazing view from the living room.

  • Our second visit to this apartment, just as good as the first. Sparkling clean, modern & stylish space, great location & my favourite view ever. Ian offers great communication, & is always on hand if needed but the apartment is so well equipped it’s unlikely you’ll need him. Prosecco on arrival is always a treat. I love this air bnb, can’t wait to come back again & again.

  • Clean apartment, fantastic views, welcome gifts wine and Welsh cakes and milk in the fridge. Beautiful coastal walk right outside the door, and the ice cream parlour downstairs also allows dogs and does really nice food too

    Trish2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing apartment in a fantastic location. The flat is modern, clean and has everything you need. Ian the host was excellent and we enjoyed the welcoming treats. We spent hours just people watching from the large picture window with views of the bay. We had a brilliant day walking along the coastal path to Pennard Cliff and returning by bus. This was a perfect location and we will definitely be returning.

  • A super relaxing pad for a short stay, everything you need to be comfortable. The views are outstanding, we had a ringside seat for Storm Ciara! Breakfast at the pier, a walk along the Gower followed by ice cream at Joes, just perfect.

  • The room is as shown as pics. It's spacious for single bedroom, comfortable and clean. I didn't meet the host, it's self check in /out and I didn't contact him anyway since there's email beforehand that explained the process. Although overall spaces were clean, there's a bit rust and moldy here and there. It's a residential neighborhood so almost nothing to see/buy here. Dollis Hills station connected to Piccadilly line (Heathrow Tube) via Green Park. The only stairs to overcome was on Dollis Hills. Overall it's worth the value. It would be much better if there's any info to use all the appliances or tips here and there since we didn't have any host to explain everything.

Self contained one up one down cottage Light and airy and well equipped 5 minute walk to Mewslade Beach and perfect for walking the Wales Coast path A perfect get away for peace and quiet in the heart of Gower Wood burner with first basket of logs provided, further logs at a small additional cost
A unique cottage with all home comforts but with a rural location
  • A wonderfully snug little cottage which is perfect for two people in a wonderful location for the coast path. There is a delightful garden for sitting in when the weather permits. The the cottage has all the amenities you would expect and the woodburner is a wonderful bonus and makes it all so cosy. I love the way space has been so cleverly used and it is such a relaxing place that I really did not want to leave!

  • Wonderful place to escape to for a few days. The cottage is perfectly located for walks along the coastal path and beach and there is a pub within walking distance (10 mins). The cottage itself is lovely and cosy, the space works so well and had everything we needed. Thank you, Kate!

    Thomas2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had spotted this little cottage whilst out on a walk on a previous Gower break and I had kept their business card, pleased to see it was suitable for 1-2 people (I have found in the past that most self-catering accommodation sleeps 4+ and is therefore priced accordingly). It is a lovely little cottage, small in size but cosy, with a warm rustic feel to it, comfortable and well designed, as well as thoroughly equipped. The wood burning stove is very enjoyable in the evenings (a must for me when I select accommodation) and the south facing garden, with table and chairs, is perfect when the sun comes out. The digital radio was a pleasant surprise and so was the extensive library of books and DVDs. The location is superb, with one of the most beautiful stretches of the coastal path just at the bottom of the field. The Middleton bus stop is just a few steps away, making it very easy to reach this cottage on public transport. Rhossili with its stunning beach and the Worm's Head pub, for a pint with breathtaking views, are also easy to reach on foot. A pretty detour on a footpath across the fields makes a pleasant 20 minute walk to the village, off the paved road. Owners Kate and Steve are very welcoming, as is their little dog Djenko. I make regular visits to the Gower, as I love walking in the area, and this little cottage makes a perfect base. Thank you!

    Nico2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for going down to an amazing beach and for the coastal path. We could not have stayed somewhere nicer!

  • Such a cosy, lovely little place! Ours hosts were very friendly and helpful - including their very cute little dog Jango! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn’t recommend it enough. A short walk from Rhossili Bay and a 10 min drive from a great pub - The King Arthur - that Kate recommended to us.

My place is very close to the beach (3 minute walk), Wales Coastal Path (1 minute walk) and Oxwich Bay Hotel (3 minute walk). You’ll love my place because of the privacy, ambience, outdoors space (backdrop of a wood), neighbourhood, and 50 Mbs FTTP Wifi. It is good for couples or a family, for the beach, or lots of walks, or functions at Oxwich Bay Hotel. Enjoy the 1st AONB in UK with the world's 2nd highest tidal rang on the doorstep, and a Gower Ambassador host.
You have a large lounge come dining area with a well equipped kitchen. The sofa changes into a double bed, in addition to the two singles or one Superkingsize-width bed in the bedroom.
A small village beside the beach
  • Good hospitality, great local knowledge, fab location (2 mins from the beach), really recommend 😀

    Emma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at the house for a wedding at Oxwich Bay hotel and the local is absolutely perfect. The house itself has everything you could need, a lovely space for a weekend trip. Claire was very helpful and accommodating, couldn't fault a thing

    Jenna2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This one bedroom (plus sofa bed) cosy annex to Alan and Claire's home is a superb stay. Information beforehand was excellent, especially lots of messages about the status of the area in the middle of storm Dennis just as we were due to arrive. The location on Oxwich bay is perfect. We walked to the stunning Three Cliffs bay and back, with gorgeous light, a rainbow and big skies (small detour for lunch at the Gower Inn). We also took a bus to Rhossili (bus stop two mins from house) and hiked back all along the coastal path, about ten miles. With a stop in the pub in Port Eynon. In Oxwich itself here's a fancy beach house for Michelin starred food, or the Oxwich hotel for a bit lower key but we didn't make it to either. The apartment itself has underfloor heating throughout so it's super cosy. It was lovely to arrive to milk, juice, bread, tea, coffee and two hearty slices of Barabrith! Alan's enthusiasm for the area is infectious, and his knowledge encyclopedic. He even managed to lend us a coat when my son forgot to bring his! All in all, a lovely, homely, comfy stay in a superb location, with lovely hosts. Thank you so much!

    Laura2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Good communication, Claire and Alan seem to care a lot about their guests, I felt very welcomed. Would definitely recommend if you're an outside person though there isn't a lot more to Oxwich than the beach/walks, but if that's what you're looking for you've found the place.

    Cormac2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent time at Claire & Alan's, and fantastic orientation chat on arrival. The place was sparkling clean and the location is amazing - a stone's throw from the beach. Plus views over a delicious garden. Thank you for your great hosting A&C! We will be back.

    Alex2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous stay and loved the location for our walking trips along the coast. The house was lovely and clean, and had everything we needed for our weekend. Was lovely to meet Alan and hear the local tips too! We’ll be back! :)

  • A wonderful stay at Olivers! Cosy yet more spacious than expected with plenty of storage for clothes including a wardrobe with hangers and shelves. The fire kept us lovely and warm and we enjoyed the views of the beautiful wild garden with birds in the trees right outside our windows and Olivers chickens! Lovely added touches of games and books, especially enjoyed the one about the life of a honeybee! Would definitely recommend!

  • Caravan was lovely and clean, and had all that we needed for a few days away. Definitely lives up to its cosy name! Oliver was friendly and helpful with prompt responses to queries we had. We also used one of the OS maps from the caravan on a walk and we would happily stay here again in the future.

    Ben2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay, great host and a fun contrast to regular hotel rooms!

    Cristina2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Needed a place to rest our heads whilst our daughter was in hospital for surgery. Oliver's cosy little hideaway was perfect. Great location, clean and tidy, spacious and quiet. Olly was great host, quick to respond and very polite. Will be using his caravan again😄

    Bill2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • On arrival the site looked a bit ramshackled and garden very wild. Despite this the caravan was located in a good position to explore this beautiful area and was comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. Access was easy and parking off the narrow road. Cooking facilities totally adequate. Good internet access. Convenient for supermarkets and other shops. The weather was chilly, windy and torrential rain showers but we can imagine it would be good to sit on the decking enjoying the birds and chickens activities. Ollie was friendly and on hand for advice. It is extremely good value for the money and we certainly recommend.

    Josh2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ian was a wonderful host with excellent communication on when the place was ready, even offering earlier check in and a later check out. The location was far better than the description! The view from the place was breathtaking, even with the gloomy autumn weather. It sits directly on the most beautiful coastal path in Wales and is close to the beach and some beautiful little restaurants. Some lovely little touches like wine and, for us Brits, milk and tea were left with clean bedding and towels. The beauty of this place was the way you felt secluded in such a picturesque place. I will definitely return to this place if I can!

  • A perfect, cosy stay in the hut - not even storm Dennis could stop us enjoying this lovely spot! It was warm, dry and the most relaxing place to read a book, drink wine and listen to the rain. When the clouds cleared we got a superb night sky to gaze up at. The dogs also made themselves at home and none of us wanted to leave. The only thing to bear in mind is the shower/kitchen is a bit of a walk from the hut but I probably wouldn't mind this in dryer weather! Luckily the toilets are just a few steps away. Would definitely recommend and would love to return and explore the area more in the warmer months.

Burry farm is in an ideal location to explore the whole Gower peninsula. It is only 10 minutes away from the coast and a choice of at least 5 beautiful beaches. We welcome families and couples and are dog friendly (sorry no cats) The cottage is within 4 miles of the following wedding venues King Arthur, Fairy Hill, Old Walls, Oxwich bay, Ocean View & Carreg Adventure. I am happy to arrange a suitable arrival time for wedding guests. Need an extra ensuite bedroom? try our new Whitewell barn.
Our farm cottage is full of character with stone walls and beams. It was built 10 years ago for use by my family all living in London. Burry is very much a farming area and we are adjoining fields with sheep and cattle. The accommodation consists of 2 bedrooms to sleep up to 6. One bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe, dressing table, side table, lamp and chair. The second bedroom (our family room) has 1 double & 2 single beds and a cot. It has 2 bedside tables & lamps and wardrobe. It is perfect for young children who like their parents to sleep in the same room. There is a full sized cot, 2 stair gates, highchair and baby bath. There are 2 double beds which would suit 2 couples. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, oven, hob and microwave. The lounge is very spacious perfect for relaxing after a busy day. Games, toys and dvds are provided. Tv with free view and wifi. Outside there is a private patio with garden furniture. The propery is surrounded by our flower & vegetable garden and during the summer it resembles an allotment. Produce is for sale at the farm gate.
Burry is in perfect location to explore the whole Peninsula. Beautiful beaches on our doorstep. Port Eynon is the nearest, perfect for families. Visit Worms Head in Rhossili voted into the Top 10 views of the world. Eat out, and enjoy a drink at the King Arthur, highly recommended only 5 mins by car. Book surfing lessons in the Llangennith surfing school The Gower Heritage Center is perfect for young families or Perriswood Archery.

  • We had a great stay and it’s a lovely sized cottage for a family. Our son enjoyed the box of toys and even asked to go to bed. Would recommend and even checked out summer dates - which are unfortunately full.

  • I booked last minute for a weekend away with my husband, baby and my parents. The house was perfect for us with a lovely crib for our little one. The location was great and the cottage was very homely. Marion is a lovely host who was very welcoming and happy to help with anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

  • We really enjoyed our two night stay in January. The place was very well equipped, with nice spacious rooms. We were staying with an enfant, and the place was ideal for that. We would be happy to stay here again in future.

  • Great location! We had a, lovely stay for new years. The Christmas tree was up and made us feel very festive.

    Lauren2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cottage in the middle of the Gower peninsula. Marion was very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. The King Arthur pub is a great local and you’re just a short drive to the breathtaking beauty of Rhosili beach. There was another cottage in the same site. A great find.

  • Our second stay at Marian’s, such a comfortable, warm house with everything you need for all the family - a real home from home. Great location and we visited all our favourite haunts, some in glorious sunshine, some in driving rain! Thanks Marian for making us all feel so welcome again, we hope to return soon.

We are Perfectly located and within walking distance to Brandy Cove, Pwll Du and Caswell Bay, as well as being an easy drive or bicycle ride to every part of Gower, the furthest being only a 20 minute drive away, we have no idea how long by bike !! The lovely fishing village of Mumbles is just a 10 minute drive or a short trip on the local bus.
The flat we are offering is on the ground floor and suitable for persons with mild mobility with only two low rise steps into the accommodation, and a 2 inch split level step between the lounge and dining room. A very spacious flat, it consists of a large lounge, dining room, fully fitted and equipped kitchen, excellent sized double bedroom, and a bathroom with shower cubicle. The flat has direct access to our back garden, from the kitchen.

  • We would highly recommend this accommodation to anybody and in particular if you have a dog. Sharon The Host makes you feel very welcome and the area is fantastic couldn't recommend highly enough. There were lots of little touches as well which made it even more perfect

  • Lovely flat, great for dogs and very thoughtful little touches that make this an exceptional place to stay. Spotlessly clean, warm and quiet. Cannot recommend highly enough. We know the area well, and have stayed in several Airbnbs in the area and this was definitely one of the best, if not the best.

    Geraldine2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • great location, pubs and local shop very convenient, clean, welcoming

    Kathy2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ortari is brilliantly well positioned for a walking holiday in the Gower. It's an easy drive to lots of great walks, and there are several beautiful walks that could be done without taking the car at all. There is a Co-op across the road (open til 10pm) and 2 great pubs who do food just yards away. The flat is spacious and very well equipped. Sharon is very welcoming and helpful. We went at the end of October and the flat was warm, and Sharon explained to us how to work the heating if we wanted to have it on at different times from the timer - very easy to do . Can thoroughly recommend, especially for walkers. There was even a space to dry walking boots and damp outer clothes. Can thoroughly recommend.

    Julia2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The bed was amazingly comfortable and the little extras (like a delicious pack of welsh cakes) milk and many other treats were definitely a great touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will book it again the next time we are in the area.

A great location as well - a short walk to the castle and easy access to the beach. We spent a day walking in the Breacons too - only an hour away. Loved it and hope to be back soon!

  • Highly recommend. Marian is lovely lady and the cottage is very clean and well equipped. Marian goes the extra mile to make your stay comfortable (apart from the yummy homemade scones she sourced me some chamomile tea!)

  • Such a brilliant space, its renovated ti a high standard. The kitchen was brilliant, like the fact theres a hair dryer as well! Brilliant location close to sone of the most stunning uk coastline I've seen (only 7.5 miles away at Rhossili) Marian was so helpful as well. There is a local shop close by, but worth visiting supermarkets in Llanelli on your way through. All in all a brilliant stay and will be visiting again to explore lots more of the Gower!

  • A warm, cosy & welcoming cottage in a beautiful location with everything we needed for an all too brief stay. Marion was quick to respond to any queries, & very helpful contacting relatives on our behalf as there was no phone signal. A rail by the 2 steps into the property then level & step free accomodation made it the perfect place to stay with my Mum who has mobility issues. We're already planning dates to return!

    Liz2020-01-13T00:00:00Z

A delightful stone cottage we call the Stable. The house was build in the 1700’s, just perched above the village green. Our holiday accommodation boasts spectacular estuary sea views. We are located just 100m from two dog friendly country pubs. Llanrhidian Marsh is part of the Welsh Coastal Path, ideal for walkers. Adjcent to our home is the local church. Our holiday accommodation is ideally positioned in Gower close to wedding venues and for holidaying by the seaside. NO EXTRA CLEANING CHARGES.
The Space. A small but unique country style two floor open plan self catering cottage, with a double ensuite bedroom. The lower floor has a living area with a kitchenette. Includes: (Portable oven, 2 stove cooking elements. A microwave, Tefal chip fryer. Plus a toaster, kettle and fridge.) We also provide complimentary tea, coffee and milk. Plus a cereal pack. Number of guests. The cottage is ideal for 2 guests but has a sofa bed option for a further 2 guests (£20 extra charge per guest over 2 persons. Extra bedding and towels will be provided.) N.B the ensuite shower & toilet is to be shared by all guests. There is a TV with DVD player. We have a selection of DVDs, plus a small library of books. There is an electric fireplace with steam effect flames. Parking. We try to keep a space free just outside our house. Although we do appreciate that 1 Space is kept free for our neighbour who drives a grey volvo. He parks near his house opposite. However it can be busy with weddings so if you are struggling to park then please let me know and I can arrange a space at the rear of our cottage to park. Dogs. Dogs are very welcome to stay free of charge. Max 2. Dogs are not to be left alone at the property. Guest privacy. We respect guests privacy and please make yourselves at home. Soon as you have your front door key you are free to come and go as you please. In the late summer evenings its lovely to sit outside on the garden furniture looking out at the estuary sea views. With a glass of your favourite tipple. All we ask in return is to consider the neighbours. If you require any further information and tips of local knowledge then please drop us a text on the airbnb app. Alternatively you can knock on our door. We are very friendly and we always enjoy meeting our guests.
Some people miss out on magical places because they head straight for the beaches and who can blame them. However Llanrhdian village has some amazing senary that attracts walkers from near and far. Weobley Castle is easy reachable from Llanrhdian, just a 30 to 40 minute walk along the Welsh Coastal Path. And finally not forgetting the Dolphin Inn beer garden, one of the best beers gardens on Gower.
  • This is the first time we stayed at this accommodation. We booked for one night with the intention to explore the local area. The accommodation was in an ideal location for exploring the local beaches and sights. It was around 10 minutes away from the Three Cliffs Bay and Whiteford Beach. The accommodation itself was easily big enough for two people and was exceptionally clean. The kitchen is small but well equipped. We went to The Welcome Inn (which was a stone throw away) for dinner. They served typical pub grub which was nice but a little pricey. Overall we had a lovely stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back! Thank you!

    Lauren2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Airbnb, would highly recommend. The cottage was spotlessly clean and really nicely decorated. Communication from the hosts was excellent as well.

    Alicia2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay.

    Ruth2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The stable was a perfect size for two in an ideal location and the fact you can take your dog was a massive factor in choosing this accommodation. The hosts provide thoughtful little touches like a highlighted map of things to see, cereals, proper coffee, milk and welsh cakes. It was super clean and everything clear and easy to use. Don't panic when you can't see a hob or oven as these are portable to use if you want to cook, however there are two great pubs within an easy walk which are dog friendly too so eating out is an easy option.

    Tansy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A sparkling clean and well designed little cottage with a nice garden space which would be nice in the summer! We did miss not having an oven, but would cater with that in mind next time!

  • Jacky's cottage is superb! We planned (unexpectedly) our long weekend during storm Dennis - Jacky very kindly kept us informed regarding the road closures and offered to defer our stay because of the storm. The cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy, and the log burner kept us and the dog warm throughout the evening. The location of the cottage is perfect as it is close to all the beaches and has nice walk routes right next! Thank you Jacky for our lovely stay!

  • What a beautiful cottage! We stayed for the weekend whilst attending a wedding in Fairyhill. Jacky was very accommodating and kept in touch every step of the way. Staying here made our weekend extra special. Very relaxing and comfortable. Will definitely be looking at coming again so we can see more of the area!

    Lisa2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the cottage and were sad to leave. It’s super cosy and was very well set out and equipped for our toddler also. It’s in a lovely peaceful setting surrounded by sheep, countryside and within striking distance of everything in the flower as it was so central. Jacky met us on arrival and had bought us a bottle of Prosecco which was a lovely touch. We had fresh logs for the fire and were made to feel welcome straight away. The cottage is very comfortable and we loved the farm animals and the garden too. We will be back again for sure. Don’t hesitate to book especially if you have kids or just want to get away for a relaxing break.

    Claudia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z

The pet friendly ‘Chalet at Cow Corner’ is an eclectic, book lovers retreat. Small, but perfectly formed, this 2 bedroomed chalet bungalow is tucked between Limeslade Bay and the Mumbles Cricket Club with easy access to the Gower Peninsula and a minutes walk to the world renowned Wales Coastal Path. Ideal for those wishing to be near the village of Mumbles and the beautiful bays of Langland and Caswell, this bungalow comes equipped with everything you might need for a perfect getaway.
The chalet consists of entrance porch, with toys and puzzles, the perfect place to dry your wet weather gear and discard your walking boots. The porch is also where you will also find a cold bag, freezer packs, thermos flask, plastic food containers, beach shelters, picnic rugs, umbrellas, walking sticks, hot water bottles, dog bowl, shopping bags and other beach paraphernalia. Basically, if you can't find it, it's probably in the porch! Please remove excessively muddy boots before entering the cosy sitting room with television, DVD player, CDs, books and maps. Designed for sprawling and relaxing, there is also a Nintendo Wii console with various games for the family to enjoy. I’m told that it may be of interest to point out that we have now upgraded to a SMART TV. The fully equipped galley kitchen is situated between the sitting and dining areas - well placed so that the cook is never excluded from whatever is going on in either area. There is a washing machine, slimline dish washer, full sized cooker, with ceramic hob and fridge freezer, not to mention a slow cooker and all the various pots and pans you may need. The double bedroom although small, contains a full size double bed and a generous amount of storage space, you will also find additional blankets in the upper cupboards should they be needed. The bunk room has a toy chest with more books and toys for rainy days, there may also be some dressing up stuff, depending on what's been left by visiting grandchildren. The bathroom consists of WC and full sized shower. The combi boiler provides instant hot water and the central heating is linked to the thermostat in the sitting room. Outside patio with table, chairs and sun umbrella are also available for your exclusive use. Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Iceland and Waitrose all deliver (admittedly I have never actually used Waitrose, but I’ve seen the vans 😊)
There are no cows at the Pet Friendly ‘Chalet at Cow Corner’ the name is derived from its position relative to the local cricket ground. This is a quiet cul de sac with a mixture of residential and holiday homes. The Mumbles Cricket Club (MCC) hosts many social events throughout the Cricket Season, and visitors are always welcome to make use of the facilities. The nearby Village of Mumbles is well within walking distance with its many pubs, restaurants and boutique shops, although some guests might prefer to take the more scenic route back via the bays of Bracelet and Limeslade in order to avoid the steep ‘short cut’ back home. The Gower Peninsula is a short drive away, in fact the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty starts right opposite the front door of the Chalet at the boundary of the field across the road and when the breeze is lively you can hear the Mixen Bell clanging it’s warning from the Mixen Sands off the Cherrystones Reef out in the Bay. At the top of the cul de sac you reach the cliff top path, this is a perfect spot to sit and watch the seals at low tide, the memorial benches are there for all to enjoy. From here turn right for the famous surfing beach of Langland and the lesser known Rotherslade and Crab Reef, or left for Limeslade, Bracelet and the Mumbles Pier and Lifeboat Station. The Gower Peninsula is now a ‘Dark Skies’ destination and as there is no street lighting here, it’s the perfect place from which to view the constellations - better still, on starry nights, take yourself up onto the cliff with a drink of your choice and gaze out across the bay. Watch out for badgers though!
  • Comfortable and well equipped, Vivienne’s place was great for our short stay. Ideally situated close to the cliff path it is a perfect setting off point for walks along the coast and trips into Mumbles.

    Val2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an ace couple of nights in Vivienne's chalet. Perfectly located for Mumbles/Gower.

  • Great accommodation, great location and the most wonderful hosts that anyone could wish for. Dog friendly and such stylish accommodation with books for everyone. cannot recommend it highly enough.

  • This place is a true little gem! Tucked away in a fantastic location on one of the most stunning coastlines in Wales. Sparkling clean, super warm and welcoming and some lovely finishing and thoughtful touches and so very well equipped. This truly felt like a home from home for my family and I. Thanks, Vivienne. We will be back to make more magical memories in The Mumbles ❤️

    Hayley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to very friendly hosts & your quick responses. We loved the character of the cosy chalet, lovely and warm and we even got some sunshine in the Stormy February half term. Would recommend.

    Katy2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Vivienne was a perfect host, lots of helpful advice and tips, plus excellent recommendations for places to eat and things to do. The chalet had everything we needed and more, loved the book collection, didn't enjoy the GCHQ puzzle book but only because I was rubbish and struggled to do even the easy puzzles, even with the clues :) The chalet is at the top of a hill, not a problem for us as this was a walking holiday and we had a drink at Castellamare before heading up to the chalet. We found the locals super friendly, helpful and love a chat, which I enjoyed.

Beynon Cottage is a luxury seaside retreat, newly built in April 2011, to a high standard. It sleeps 4 in comfort, and is situated in the heart of Port Eynon village just a two minute level walk to Port Eynon's award winning sheltered, south facing, blue flag beach. Beynon Cottage is a 7-minute drive from the Michelin-starred restaurant The Beach House at Oxwich.
The cottage is named after one Philip Beynon, Master Mariner, who lived on the site of the cottage in the 19th Century. Port Eynon is a Conservation village with a simplistic quality and style of house, typified by white-washed walls and slate roofs. Once occupied by mariners, oyster fishermen, and quarrymen, the village is now a holiday destination flourishing amidst a truly magnificent coastline and some outstandingly beautiful countryside.
Port Eynon is the most southerly point on the Gower peninsula and is steeped in history and intrigue. The Gower was the very first part of the UK to be dedicated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with all of its beautiful beaches, stunning scenery and renowned coastline within easy reach of Port Eynon, itself a dedicated Conservation Area village.
  • Ideal location to explore the area, walks from the doorstep and added bonus of a pub just around the corner. Well equipped cottage with everything you could need

  • Lovely short break in the Gower. The cottage was very clean and well equipped - we enjoyed the welsh cakes and milk left for us. Good communication and easy check in. There are walks from the door - pub is a short distance away and the beach as well as the cottage is in a good location for exploring the Gower. Would consider booking again!

    Helen2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cottage in a fabulous location from which to explore the Gower. Rhossili Bay is stunningly beautiful but so too is the walk to Oxwich Bay and Three Cliffs Bay. Spotlessly clean, really comfortable with some nice touches. We would absolutely recommend cottage Beynon to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful part of the world.

    Jane2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beynon Cottage is a delightful place to stay to enjoy the wonderful Gower Peninsula. Perfectly located on a village lane 1 minute walk from the beach and round the corner from the Ship Inn. Very well appointed and with a lovely little enclosed front garden with table and chairs to sit outside in the evening with a drink and enjoy the peace and quiet. Highly recommended.

  • This is a fabulous Airbnb -compact but ideal for 2 people and is to a vary high standard. Spotlessly clean and some nice touches -dressing gowns and brownies Lots of useful local info and the beach is on your doorstep. We walked to rhossili bay in the coastal path which is about 8 miles one way but you can get a bus back Definitely will consider a return visit

  • Western side cottage was fabulous. Stylish and practical, in a great location, quiet yet more than close enough to the local pub! A wonderful place to stay in a truly breathtaking part of the world. Can not reccomend enough.

  • Beautiful annex set in peaceful little village. Great location to visit the Gower and surrounding areas. Hosts Hari and Chris were so welcoming and helpful with top tips on the area (as well as delicious homemade brownies upon our arrival!). The annex is beautiful and super clean! Cannot recommend this Air B&B more! If you are visiting the Gower, this is where you should stay!

    Naomi2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • As we have stayed at ‘The Side’ several times before, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. The location is stunning. The accommodation is of a high standard - the bed is so comfortable, the shower is amazing and the whole place is cosy. We really enjoyed the delicious brownies after a day out walking. Hari’s recommendation of the Britannia Inn was spot on for a special birthday meal. Hari and Chris are great hosts - prompt in communication, on hand if you need them but give you privacy. It’s a lovely place to spend a few days.

Apartment is in a great location near the end of the promenade but within walking distance of both the pier one way and Mumbles village the other. Apartment is at the rear of the building so no sea view but you are on the seafront when you walk out the front door so don’t worry 😁 Apartment is ‘home from home’ and has everything you need. Highly recommend and will definitely return

We also wandered out for the evenings and was easily walked by 2 adults. Friendly, helpful host too and very easy check in/out due to the key safe.

A beach house retreat with everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. A 3 minute stroll to Langland Bay, 10 mins to Caswell and Rotherslade and a short drive to the vast beautiful beaches of the Gower. The popular village of Mumbles is 5 mins by bus/car or a 20min stroll, where you’ll find bars, cafes, restaurants and shops . If you enjoy surfing, walking, eating out, exploring or simply putting your feet up in front of the wood burner, this is the perfect space for you.
COVID-19 update We would like to put your mind at ease amidst all this craziness if you are considering a staycation. We pride ourselves on our level of cleanliness but have increased our already high standard during this time. Every soft and hard surface will be thoroughly cleaned and sterile when you arrive. If you want to escape and stay in, there’s plenty of wood for cosy nights, games, books, TV and Netflix to keep you occupied. In the local area, many of the bars, restaurants and cafes are taking extra precautions with sanitisation as well as opting to go cashless....lots of restaurants are even offering a new takeaway service. The vast stretch of the Gower gives you ample opportunity to create space for social distancing and absorb the calm of the waves. If you have any questions or special requests, please just ask. We hope you and your loved ones stay healthy and will do our bit to ensure you stay that way. The Space We count ourselves super lucky to have a home so close to the beach so we chose to share it with like minded people. The Loft is a purpose built annexe stylishly decorated with everything you need from a perfect holiday hide out. If you’ve enjoyed a coastal walk, head back to the loft and cosy up on the sofa and light the log burner. On sunny days, grab yourself a drink and relax in the private enclosed garden which is a real sun trap! There are plenty of books and games as well as freeview TV and Netflix to keep you occupied if the weather is bad. If you are planning on staying in, you will find everything you need to cook yourself a meal (except the food ;))
Langland Golf Club is a stone’s throw away. Watersports are available at the nearby beaches. The Mumbles is a short distance away where you will find restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. You’ll find 2 gorgeous beachside eateries on Langland Bay which is a 3 minute walk down the hill. The university and hospital are a 10 minute drive away so if you’re visiting family or coming to Swansea for work, this is a good place to relax and unwind.
  • One of the nicest Airbnb's we have stayed in. A cosy modern space with lovely decor. Liz and Jon were quick to respond with any queries we had and they left some lovely food and drink items, which is always a nice touch. Only a 2 minute walk to Langland beach this place is brilliantly located for exploring the Mumbles and the Gower. Thanks for a great stay - I am sure we will be back!

  • We had a great week in this delightful holiday cottage - starting with a very warm welcome from our host Chris. The cottage is spacious and well equipped – perfect for the two of us for an enjoyable stay. Extras such as DVDs, books and lots of maps and guide books in the cottage too. We found the location a great place from which to explore the Gower Peninsular. Our expectations of wide skies, expansive beaches and long walks was fulfilled – except for one day of rain but, truth be told, we needed the rest! If we return to The Gower we would definitely book here again.

Within five minutes you can walk to Cefn Bryn, common land where you’ll see ponies, cows and sheep roaming freely, climb the hill and you’ll discover spectacular views of the peninsula overlooking the estuary on one side and across to England on the other!
  • Absolutely amazing place to stay. Louise was a fantastic host, she added special touches which were so thoughtful. Would definitely recommend and come again. Thank you so much 😊

  • A beautiful well looked after annex. Comfy bedding, quiet nights, modern bathroom, well equipped kitchen. Would suggesting following Google maps to the farm opposite to find it. The hot tub was great, went in every night in pitch dark and looked at a super starry sky. You do have to go out the front and round the side to get to the hot tub area so may be worth bringing an extra towel or robe and a pair of flip flops! I would recommend Louise's place to others, enjoy!

  • Really lovely stay in a beautiful spot. We were greeted with a welcome message on the little board in the kitchen and some home-made brownies which our kids devoured! We didn't get to try out the hot tub but the wood-burning stove in the living room was very much appreciated. Information and practical guidance second to none.

  • Louise was a lovely host, very welcoming and the cottage was perfect! So many little touches that made our weekend very special, from the homemade brownies to the fluffy towels. The cottage was everything we wanted for a relaxing weekend away. Despite the horrendous weather brought by storm ‘Dennis’ we still braved the hot tub which was a great addition to the already perfect cottage. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will definitely be returning :-)

  • Louise's place is adorable and a perfect location near Fairyhill for my cousin's wedding. We loved all the amenities, and the place was as clean as a whistle. It was so comfy and cozy. The stairs are a bit dangerous if you have children, however that was a child safety gate, and no issues for us (no children). Louise and her partner were so lovely, and very helpful! They provided towels, fresh eggs, and homemade brownies amongst many things. We will certainly be coming back! Also the hot tub was a great addition.

  • Fantastic cottage in a lovely rural location. Local pubs, places to eat are only a few minutes drive away, and there are plenty of opportunities for a nice walk. Louise is a great host, very flexible and accommodating, and very responsive to texts. The cottage has a nice homely feel and Louise adds a few welcoming touches for our arrival. The log fire is easy to use and heats nicely, and for the the night time the TV gives you access to multiple platforms to relax and enjoy your night. (Netflix, now tv ect). I would highly recommend staying here, I’m sure we will again.

  • Mandys place is just fantastic! Perfect for 2 and so cosy and warm. Fantastic stocked kitchen, comfy bed and seating area and nice thoughtful touches like tea bags and milk! Couldn't fault the accommodation and brilliant location out of the back gate and straight on to lovely walks. We walked to the pub in Pennard across the golf course which was nice for pub food. Also went for walks at Port Eynon and found a very lovely pub there too. The Gower Inn on the main road wasn't too our tastes but the Cafe at Three Cliffs Bay was amazing!! All in all a lovely base to explore the Gower Penninsula.

  • Thanks for a lovely stay and warm welcome Amanda and Jeff. The apartment was spotlessly clean and cosy. We loved the walk to three cliffs bay through the garden gate with our dog . A lovely circular route, past pennard castle, down to the beach, over the river and down to three cliffs and the sea front, then along the coast to three cliffs cafe ( seating mostly outside with a dog, with lots of gf , veggie/vegan options and yummy cakes) then Southgate county club ( dog treats and warm welcome) on the return. Nice and relaxing to return to a warm clean apartment ( in February) which had everything we needed. We appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the provision of herbal teas, ground coffee and cooking oil/condiments. We look forward to visiting again. Mary
