  • Lovely home on a gorgeous lake with easy access. Could use some TLC, and a bit of dusting, but the location is fantastic and there is everything you need to be comfy and enjoy the lake and scenery. Lots of great communal spaces inside and out, especially around the fire pit! Our family had a wonderful stay. Evolve takes their time in getting back but the local host was quick to respond. Would definitely come back.

We have several other beautiful homes in all price ranges and sizes featured on AirBNB- check out Sweetheart, Polka Dot, Noni's Joy, and Hiawatha too! Holiday weekends are three night minimum. We're flexible when we have last minute availability- never hurts to ask! "Sunset" is a deeply romantic getaway and serene year-round destination for writers, artists, nature lovers and all who appreciate the beauty and gentle pleasures of a quiet Adirondack lake. Located on Pleasant Lake in the accessible southern Adirondacks, "Sunset" is named for its western views from every room and three levels of sunny, furnished decks. This lovingly detailed lakefront cottage was completely remodeled and furnished with your comfort in mind. It accommodates six, with a queen master bedroom, queen sleeping loft and queen living room sleeper-sofa, and is particularly suitable for adults and older children. "Sunset's" STUNNING LAKE VIEWS, framed by magnificent pines, include two islands and the daily light show of the setting sun. Sunrise, reflected in the lake, is equally beautiful. An Adirondack swing is a romantic spot for sky-gazing. At lakeside, a ladder and diving board offer easy entry into deep, clear water. A rowboat is provided seasonally; kayaks and a canoe are available for an additional fee. "Sunset's" light, airy OPEN-PLAN LIVING SPACE includes a living room and lakefront dining room with vaulted ceilings and a full-size eat-in kitchen. A lakefront master bedroom, sleeping loft, bathroom and entry hall complete the interior. From the relaxed comfort of country antiques mixed with casual new classic furniture, to generous windows and the warm mood of vintage lighting set on dimmer switches, exceptional care went into every detail of "Sunset's" design. Floral hooked rugs soften pine floors; ceiling fans enhance lake breezes. A JotuI gas fireplace keeps "Sunset" toasty through Adirondack winters, takes the chill off brisk spring and autumn mornings, adds a glow to any evening. The LIVING ROOM's plush sofa and rattan furniture plumped with sumptuous down cushions and cozy throws create flexible groupings for pleasant conversation and quiet entertainment. Vintage bridge lamps and sconces provide bright reading light, while a glass-topped coffee table is perfect for Scrabble or another of the classic board games we provide along with a selection of guidebooks, magazines, CD's and videos. The TV/DVD can be viewed from almost anywhere in the cottage. Sheer drapes drawn between living and dining rooms create intimate spaces or privacy for guests using the sleeper sofa. The LAKEFRONT DINING ROOM radiates light from two picture windows set in sunny yellow walls. Fireplace flames, mirrored arches and a shimmering Italian chandelier add to the lake's sparkle. An antique table seats six; vintage pastel Lu-Ray dinnerware, floral Bavarian serving pieces, reproduction "French ivory" cutlery, and crystal wine and champagne glasses set a sophisticated and romantic table. Two rocking chairs are ideal for bird watching. A deck spanning the front of the cottage is furnished for warm weather al fresco dining, with a patio heater extending the season. The highlight of the FULLY-EQUIPPED EAT-IN KITCHEN, charmingly fitted with new and vintage elements, is its aqua 1950's electric range with double ovens, which inspired "boomerang" Formica surfaces. A double-basin, skirted farmhouse sink is deep enough for a lobster pot. Display shelving offers easy storage above enameled cupboards. A dishwasher makes wash-up a breeze. The refrigerator is equipped with ice maker; a cooler of local spring water supplements the drilled well. A stainless-steel gas grill is steps away outside the entrance. The kitchen is well-equipped with sharp knives, stainless pots, cast-iron skillets, handy gadgets, microwave, 4-slice toaster, blender, rice cooker. A coffee-bar by the sink offers coffee grinder and maker, electric teakettle and mugs. Bakers will love the Kitchen-Aid mixer and full complement of baking pans. A breakfast counter has vintage metal stools, freshly powder-coated in ice-cream enamels. An intimate ambiance unusual in a kitchen is created with pendant task-lights on dimmers and soft strip-lighting behind the crown molding of the low, exposed-beam ceiling. Above a pine table with press-backed oak chairs, festive baubles animate a tole chandelier. It is hard to say which is the focal point of the ROMANTIC LAKEFRONT MASTER BEDROOM - the spectacular views or the Adirondack fantasy bed. White birch trees form a canopy of branches shimmering with tiny white lights above the queen-size bed. Windows spanning three walls flood the room with light. A view-reflecting mirror, French door and sky- blue ceiling add to the feeling of being outdoors in this serene, luxuriously comfortable bedroom. Rattan chairs share panoramic views with a window seat built from an antique chest. Vintage glass feathers and flowers on a mahogany dresser continue the glittering theme of the beautifully illuminated room. Bedside tables, halogen reading lights, lamps, ceiling fan, and plush woolly white rugs complete the furnishings. A walk-in cedar closet accommodates hanging clothes for both bedroom and sleeping loft. Antique porch posts support the LAKE VIEW SLEEPING LOFT, suitable for adults or older children. Reached by a sturdy library ladder, with a curtained privacy railing (please note the railing is not structurally supportive and must not be leaned against), the cozy loft has a queen bed set against a rustic log wall, antique bedside dressers and reading lights flanking a window with whimsical pediment. The peaked ceiling, textured and sponged in an abstract swirl of sky and clouds, features a stained-glass star lantern. Luxury linens at "Sunset" include down duvets, feather pillows and soft fleece blankets. You provide sheets, pillowcases and towels. The BATHROOM features a tub with "rain" shower head, and a pedestal sink and toilet set below a mirrored wall with shelves and medicine cabinet. Amenities include a magnifying mirror and hair dryer. During the warmer months, "Sunset" offers the treat of a hot outdoor shower. The ENTRANCE HALLWAY is an all-weather mudroom, with hooks, boot-trays and bench for removing and storing outdoor gear. Because "Sunset " has a "no shoes" policy, guests are requested to wear slippers, socks or bare feet in the house. "Sunset" is a quick walk from our ample parking area off a maintained dirt road. All-wheel or 4-wheel drive or chains may be required in winter. "Sunset" is an ideal base camp for OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES IN EVERY SEASON. Swim, fish and boat from our deep, clear water-front. Several golf courses, and spectator sports including motocross, NASCAR and horse racing, are within easy distance. Downhill and cross-country skiing, ice-skating, ice-fishing and miles of Adirondack wilderness trails for hiking and snowmobiling are all within minutes. With no commercial facilities and few year-round cottages, Pleasant Lake feels peacefully remote; yet necessities are available nearby. Convenience stores, gas, restaurants, bars, espresso and the Sunday NY "Times" are within five miles; all the services of a city are within 20. In a region bountiful with natural beauty, historic sites, museums, antiquing, music venues and family fun, day trip destinations include Saratoga Springs, Cooperstown, Lake George, and the Albany Capital Region. Peaceful, quiet, serene, gorgeous.
  • The cabin by the lake was very peaceful, charming and had one of the nicest sunset views. My boyfriend and I went for a getaway after a busy year of work and could not have been a better weekend.

  • The cottage is absolutely gorgeous! Even prettier than it looks in the pictures. We were there in unusually cold negative temperatures and there was a chill to the air inside but the beautiful gas stove did a great job of keeping up.

  • We found this beautifal cabin in a last-minute search for some r&r after a hectic few days in the city. We did not know the area at all but wanted a quiet lake-side retreat to relax in for 2 nights before heading back home. We booked it at 10pm the night before and arrived at the cabin at 2pm the next day, everything ready for us and Aimee had been so useful in helping us arrange the stay, responding to emails very quickly and ensuring we had all the necessary info. When we arrived at the cabin, we were both utterly blown-away by the beauty and charm of this stunning place. Not only is every detail provided in the house, from fur rugs, vintage china and slippers, but the detail in the furnishing was unlike anywhere we have ever stayed. On top of this, the location is directly on the lake and offers panoramic views of the lake and surrounding forest, which is stunning during the day and particulaly at sunset. In addition, the cabin offered great wifi, the most amazing array of classic films on dvd/vhs and cds for our enjoyment. We also took the canoe across the lake which was so easy to use and meant we could explore surrounding bays and islands. This is our first air bnb experience and we honestly don't see how this can be bettered, we have already recommended to our friends in CT as a 'must-do'. It is very long way from our home in Dubai, but we hope one day we will return and Aimee thank you again for a magical stay! Lucy and Ian

  • I can't say enough good things about our experience at Sunset! My husband and myself shared the cabin with our 2 best friends for the week. We enjoyed all the lake and surrounding area had to offer, hiking, antiquing and of course kayaking. Aimee was great at responding promptly to all my questions. I highly recommend sunset as a restorative and absolutely beautiful refuge where you can relax and absorb the tranquility of nature.

  • Sunset Cabin was a wonderful retreat! They have really gone out of their way to ensure their guests have a comfortable stay. There are so many little wonderful details. I will say, bring groceries upon arrival... the store/restaurants are a nice commute away. Thank you so much for a lovely weekend!

    Michele2014-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin came perfectly clean and well appointed with condiments, dishware, and the like. It was filled with charming details that made this stay especially personal. We loved the stove and the swing on the lake the most. My fiancé commented that it felt like we were in another time. We played a jazz CD there at night at felt incredibly relaxed. The pictures don’t do it justice. Aimee was an ideal host. She left detailed instructions and was available if needed. We hope to return.

  • What a great long weekend we had at Sunset! The property is beautiful with it's awesome late afternoon sun. The house is decorated to perfection. We loved the general store at Canada Lake. Our new family of four had the perfect getaway with swimming, boating, hiking and relaxing! We would love to go back. Thank you!!

  • We had a lovely weekend at Sunset - the house is amazing and beautiful with awesome views of the lake. Very private and peaceful with good access to hikes in surrounding areas. Only issues we had was the toilet overflowed and we had alot of trouble unclogging it, and when we tried to contact Aimee about the issue we only got through to voicemail. Also when we tried to grill the gas ran out halfway through cooking the only meal we had on it, which was frustrating. Apart from that it was five stars.

Our cabin is close to lots of outdoor activities, like hiking, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing, and features a big swimming pond. It's an adorable cabin with comfortable amenities, heated floors, a cute kitchen, and a fluffy queen-sized bed. You’ll love it because of the coziness and great sleep you'll get - far from street noise (100 miles or so!), the only noise you might hear is the sound of the wind chimes in the eaves. It's good for couples and solo adventurers.
The cabin is a high-tech brand-new unit, built in 2010. It features radiant heat in the floors and super high quality insulation, but also an antique (and functional) woodstove and gas range, and about 650 square feet of living space, including a full-size refrigerator.
Salisbury Center is a tiny village in Herkimer County, NY. It is home to one of NY's last remaining covered bridges (next to a great swimming hole). It's bordered to the north by the Adirondack Park. Just a short drive away you can find the world-famous Herkimer Diamond Mines, lots of terrific antique stores in Little Falls, and an abundance of local farm stands, delicious food, and outdoor opportunities like fishing, hunting, hiking, and more. There's a quaint Amish store within walking distance of the cabin for baked goods and pantry basics... and, of course, the famous Amish hand-woven baskets and other crafts.
  • Ashley and Chris were honestly the best hosts that we've ever had. They made us feel so welcome, and the cabin is really an amazing place on an amazing piece of land. We were there for New Year's Eve, a period of time that saw 20+ inches of snow dumped on us. It wasn't a problem at all (though if you're not from a winter clime, the roads are to be watched). Ashley gave us snowshoes to manage the trails, which were beautiful in the winter snow. There was also plenty of wood for the stove, though in the end, the cabin is perfectly insulated. You'd never need anything at all, but cooking on the old wood stove and making coffee over a wood fire is really brilliant. It was a challenge and the best of experiences! I cannot say enough about this experience. It was easily the best we've ever had, and I hope we've made some great friends for the long-term in the area. This is the best value cabin you could ask for, and we were so happy to be the first to stay there!

A serene 1 acre country mountain setting next to one of New York's 18 historic covered bridges(1875) with its own white water creek. You can hear the soothing sound of the flowing water from the property and the fresh mountain air flowing in the windows makes for a restful night's sleep. The 1850 home sits 2000 ft. above sea level. 2 miles from the Adirondack Park. South is the Mohawk River Valley & Erie Canal with antiques, shopping, groceries at Little Falls (18 minutes) or Dolgeville 3 miles.
Eat in Kitchen, pine & (cedar paneled shower)/bathroom , living room with the original 1850 wide plank spruce floors, tiled foyer, staircase to the 2nd floor with a long hallway & 3 bedrooms. The little trail on the side of the house brings you up 20 feet to the large elevated back yard framed beautifully all around by large maple trees with an open view south to the covered bridge & next evergreen crested mountain.
The house borders a county park with trails, fishing, literally just a few steps from the front door. Across the street is a 200 year old blacksmith shop, up the road is a 200 year old Frisbee House with tours on Saturday.

Remote Adirondack Lodge Located On 100 Private Acres. Looking to enjoy nature to it's fullest this is your spot. Located at the end of a dirt road adjacent to 300 acre wildlife preserve this spot is for the true nature lover. Enjoy hiking, horseback. The cabin is off the grid and is powered by a generator. The cabin has a drilled well with in door bathroom , hot shower , and dishwasher. Located on the edge of the Adirondack park minutes from several lakes and hiking trails.
I built this Cabin from the ground up in 2008 and my family has used it as a vacation getaway every since. If your looking to unplug and get back to nature as well as spending quality family time this is your place.
  • I booked this cabin after the hotel we normally use wasn't available for our 6 day stay (the super popular Boilermaker 15k). The area is fairly light on accommodations and this one would fit our 5 adults and 2 kids, and of course the price was right. All the pictures and info representing the house are totally accurate, there's plenty of room. "Off the grid" living with all the amenities minus a fridge. He provides two coolers and plenty of instruction on how to work the generator, breakers, etc. AC unit and fan do a good job of cooling down the house in the heat. We couldn't really get the tv to work but that may have been user error and it didn't matter much to us since we weren't there a lot except for morning and evenings. Cabin seemed a bit dusty in the corners, windows. My main concern is that there was a mouse there. We found evidence of it eating the toilet paper and Kleenex on different nights. Finally one night we spotted it and, having not much else to do, tried to trap it. During this we found a dead mouse behind the couch which we got rid of. The live mouse eventually went under the basement door (which is locked) so we trapped it with a towel wedged beneath the door. Still the next couple mornings we saw droppings in multiple rooms. I realize a mouse is not the worst thing that could have been in the cabin, but it definitely put a damper on the trip. I let Frank know about the mice immediately and he was apologetic and said he would take measures to have them removed. Despite our houseguest, Frank was a great host.

    Lauren2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Frank was a great host. He met us at his cabin in the woods, gave us the tour, walked us through how everything works (he's off the grid but his generator setup is really simple to use), and gave us the rundown on where to find what in the nearby town. He was available all weekend for questions we may have had. Very nice and friendly. The place was perfect. There were 6 of us meeting up from Boston, Ohio, and LA looking to get away from the cities and enjoy some quiet. This was exactly what we were looking. Cabin in the woods, far away from roads and the sounds of cars passing by; just a nice quiet spot in nature. And it has all the amenities you'd want - heat, AC, hot water, gas-stove, shower, dishwasher, comfortable beds - it was great. We did some cooking in the mornings, grilling in the afternoons, and had fires at night under the stars. Couldn't have asked for a better time.

    Thane2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Frank explained everything about the lodge: how to run the generator, using the water heater, etc. He was very responsive to my emails and got back to me pretty quickly. If you are looking for off-the-grid quiet, this is the place. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The location is about 15 minutes from Dolgeville, so anything you need is a short ride away. The road getting in is a bit challenging; we had rain one night, and the lane (which was already a little beat up) got a little soggy. Yay for four wheel drive :-) We saw a 30-pound (?) porcupine, and Donna the doe (as she is called) wandered by the first morning after we got there. We had a VERY comfortable stay at Frank's place. Highly recommend!

    Maryanne2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Frank's spot is amazing. Surrounded by 100 beautiful acres, it's just you and the deer. We spent a magical couple of days in the cabin, using the firepit, grilling, listening to the wind in the trees. It's pretty much perfect. Frank was an incredible host, really going out of his way to make us feel at home. You can tell he loves this place, and we could see why. A true treasure.

    Daniel and Helene2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • My family really enjoyed our stay. It was an excellent opportunity to literally unplug from all the electronic devices and have quality family time. Having to actively turn on the generator for electricity was actually a nice feature.

    Patrick2016-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our two-night stay in August at Frank's cabin was comfortable and peaceful. The cabin is solidly built, spacious, airy, and cozy. Would love to go back in the winter to cozy up with the wood stove in the two-story great room and try sleeping up in the loft. (Just need to borrow a 4-wheel drive, as the rugged dirt road would be a challenge for my little sedan when slippery!) Once you fire up the generator located outside at the back of the house, you have all the amenities of a modern house, but we preferred the silence and serenity of the woods and being a bit rustic. At least the stove can be manually lit. Anyone who likes a taste of quiet and solitude will love this gem in the woods, and Frank is a real gentleman, very friendly and helpful. Look forward to going back soon!

Pictures say it all! Beautiful lake views and ADK decorated house! Main house has 2 beds and futon. Separate outdoor cabin bedroom! Fish or kayak off dock! Hike, swim, bike ride right off beautiful wooded road. $250 MON - THURSDAY. $300 FRI - SUN. The water around the dock is shallow and not ideal for swimming ( walk or boat to the middle for swimming or visit the swimming area down the road). Cleaning is required after stay for a full security deposit refund.
The view, the decorations, and the house itself. Words cannot describe, the inside just screams ADK! Even the toilet paper holder is a bear!
This is glorified camping at it's best... closest gas station is 15 minutes away... you are really in the wilderness!
  • Wilderness Lodge is a wonderful, peaceful place. Explore in the Kayaks or sit on the dock and paint the breathtaking surroundings. Comfortable and cozy, this is the perfect place for friends to gather and reflect. The "little house" which houses the third bedroom is down by the water and great fun for adventurous people. Jack was very gracious and available to help with planning and reminders of things to remember. Don't forget linens including dish towels and a bath mat. This is a place I could visit every year!

  • Beautiful cabin decorated so great. Gas fireplaces and a fire pit and wood. Outside cabin is not rustic it's very new and clean. It's an amazing cabin with loft style setup but the upstairs is separated so it's private. 1 shower/bathroom downstairs and 1 bathroom upstairs in the master bdrm no shower. Decorating is out of this world and there's everything from candles to a lit up dock beautiful deck and very high quality handmade EVERYTHING. I've never seen anything like it. Thanks Jack it was a great time at your cabin (cabins) the lake was awesome we went swimming, rafted, canoed, bicycled (if your goal is to bike far your dealing with some older bikes. A beach cruiser and low end mtn bike (shifted well and felt safe to me) and they get you to some amazing trails and swimming areas within like 5 minutes. Beautiful peace lake and hiking or walking whatever your forte is. I would definitely consider going back It was reasonably priced and very recently renovated. Me and my girlfriend actually rented the place and we chose to stay in the outside cabin because it was so nice and peaceful and private and had an awesome bay window we could watch the fog come off the water in the morning knock you killed with sunlight and heat. No air conditioners, but we did not need them in fact the last night we had to use the gas fireplaces a little which work except no thermostats so you have to watch them or you'll be sleeping in HOT cabin a few hours after you turn them on. Jack has pretty much everything yprovider and WiFi is so slow ou imagine a lake house would have. If your a cell phone nut there's no service anywhere nearby within walking distance WiFi is satellite and so slow even checking email is difficult. Tv is only love tv a few channels but they have DVD movies and players in 3 rooms. Just don't plan on accomplishing cell phone related things unless you drive into town which is about 20 min. All in all it's nice to have a break from the internet honestly and the house iold moms a solid 4.8/5 pretty much all around So amazingly quiet and peaceful it was nice to say the least We even get a 81 year old guy out on the raft with us and my boyfriend's 62 year old mom out on the canoe. Rent it and enjoy it guys! There is a land line so you can still make a call of need be or receive if you have to. One last thing is while the temperature was fine for us keep in mind no heating or ac in the outside cabin so bring warm clothes. Thanks for the great time and. amenities

  • Jacqui was a remarkable host! She quickly contacted us from when we first made the reservation, and made herself available through the end of our stay. The cabin was beautiful, and even more amazing than we expected. My wife and I came and stayed for our anniversary, and my wife said it was one of the most lovely places she's ever stayed. The dock, fire pits, and screened porch were particularly pleasant. The weather was gorgeous, and we took a canoe out on the lake, which (along with the kayaks and a row boat) was easily accessible, and we were able to put in from the dock right by the cabin. The cabin also had all of the amenities we could possibly need - dishes, sheets, certain other kitchen supplies, and so on. Jacqui really went all out to make sure every need was anticipated. If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway that's still within a half hour of small nearby towns, this is just the stay for you, and Jacqui will ensure you're

  • We stayed for 2 nights and absolutely loved it! The cabin is beautiful, and has everything you could want - including kayaks, a rowboat, and stand-up paddleboards. The home has lots of room, but feels very cozy. The lake is very quiet and peaceful. Totally relaxing. Would absolutely come back, and recommend to anyone!! Jacqui was super responsive to the few questions that we had :-).

    Colin2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The rustic, comfortable cabin is on a beautiful, quiet lake. Jacqui sent us a welcome text and made sure we knew she was available if we had any questions. Information and instructions all made sense. No satellite or cable service but our ATT and Verizon cell services worked just fine. We swam, kayaked, played golf in Newport (a hidden gem) and enjoyed the perfect weather and scenery driving around the area. Would definitely stay here again. Note: most "rated" restaurants in the area are only open on Weds or Thurs through the weekend.

    Christine2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is perfect, the place is quiet and beautiful. Jacqui provided neaely everything we would need for our staying. The kayaks are great for enjoying the lake. Btw, the sofa is super cozy.

  • A group of six of us visited the cabin for the weekend and fell in love. We had a lot of fun with the kayaks and canoes and found the cabin to be really welcoming and comfortable. Great fire place, welcoming feel and a beautiful spot on the lake. We would love to go back some time. Highly recommend

  • Jacqui and her husband Joe were great host, with plenty of useful help about the area. We arrived to find a beautiful cabin tucked away at the end of a gorgeous quiet lake, the pictures don't do it justice! The area was very quiet and had many hiking trails to explore. One of the simple but nicest things we did was to sit in the sun room in the morning, overlooking the serene lake, with a cup of coffee and the changing fall leaves painting the shoreline. They were generous enough to offer their canoes and kayaks which was also very nice, as we made good use of them every chance we had. One day was a rainout, but fortunately the cabin had a few board games, some old dvds, lots of good magazines about mountain lifestyle and architecture, and even a baking sheet (my girlfriend managed to sneak a pack of cookie dough into our cooler) and it ended up being a great day full of laughs and time spent together which was exactly what we were after anyway. This was a great find and will be on our list for future trips!

  • We loved our time at Camp. Thank you Jacqui and Joe. The rental was even better in person than on paper. The whole area is beautiful. We enjoyed the Lake, the kayaks, sitting on either of the decks, the peacefulness, a campfire. Had birthday dinner one night in Herkimer. Climbed Kane Mountain. The cabin was well stocked and comfortable. We were 6 people and there was plenty of room for all. The large/long kitchen table was perfect for cards and scrabble on the one rainy day we had. Lastly, communication with the owners was fast and easy. We would gladly return for another vacation.

    Karen2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was absolutely lovely. Cozy with two fabulous bedrooms and a really nice sleeping porch. Everything we very clean and well kept. The boats were great fun, and our kids loved swimming off the dock. We had a terrific time exploring the lake by kayak and canoe. We highly recommend the hike to Nine Corners Lake included in her "To Do" folder - gorgeous. I highly recommend this property - it worked especially well as a place for active kids to be with their grandfather. Very fun.

Our rustic but very comfy lakefront cottage with private beach in the front and miles of wilderness in the back makes this a true Adirondack vacation. Multiple trails, cliffs, creeks, small lakes and meadows literally out the back door of our cabin
The cabin is the perfect get away to get in touch with nature. The lake is 50 feet out of the front door with a private beach and the perfect swimming spot with cool clear water and sandy bottom. Children love this lake because they can walk out for 200 feet and still only be in a few feet of water. Listen to the loons as you sit on the bank overlooking the lake and the mountains. All of the water to the cabin is drawn from the lake so please DON'T DRINK THE TAP WATER. You may bring drinking water but there is an office style water dispenser with 5 gallons of fresh spring water for your use. Washing, showering and doing dishes are perfectly fine with the tap water. Nights can be chilly, even during the summer months, so bring blankets/sleeping bags to your liking. No linens or towels are provided. There is a small paddle boat on the beach for use but please use at your own risk and wear the provided life jackets. Bring a fishing pole and try to catch one of the many fish in the lake, sunfish, trout, or bass. It is a great place to reconnect with nature and explore the beautiful Adirondack mountains.
  • We had a wonderful time here! It was like being in the lap of luxury in the middle of the woods. The cabin stays really warm at night, the lake was super fun to play in, there are too many trails to count in the surrounding area. The stars were magnificent from the beach.

  • Want to thank Scott for the wonderful time that we had at the cottage. The view from the bedroom was breathtaking. Great place to kick back and relax!!

    prajna2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's cabin was even more charming and comfortable than we expected. Everything from the well-stocked kitchen, comfy bedrooms, and cozy wood-burning stove were beyond exceptional. The beach really is just out the door and down a few steps—we spent a lot of time out there and on the paddle boat! As the description and other reviewers have said, bring several comfy blankets because it gets colder than you'd think at night (we went Labor Day weekend). Also think about picking up some firewood for the firepit along the way—we recommend the local Stewart's because the wood's kept nice and dry. All in all, this was a super cozy and relaxing getaway and we'd be pleased to come back.

    Andy2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Bring your own bedding & blankets - it gets cold at night (our trip was late August) and the cabin isn't well insulated. Also, bring your campfire supplies and get ready to enjoy an awesome week/end away from all the craziness! This is absolutely a five star getaway.

    Tim2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect Adirondack getaway. Hiking and swimming during the day, and the cabin is great for evening relaxing, cooking and campfire. Recommended!

    Tom2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place was exactly how he described it and what we were looking for. Perfect rustic cabin in the woods. A great experience had by my girlfriend and I. Thanks Scott!

    Kyle2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a rustic cabin in a beautiful location -- right on a a lake that's great for swimming, kayaking/canoeing, fishing, etc. The front bedroom is virtually all windows, the two back bedrooms have a partial wall between them. It's well stocked for water sports-- life jackets, paddle boat, blow-up float... There's a nice fire pit and the screened in porch has a wonderful swinging chair for two. A great place for couples, families with young children.etc.

  • The Lakehouse was so perfect. It was way better than the pictures. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The kitchen was fully stocked. The lake was beautiful and Dave and Betsy were so kind. The house was immaculate. We would love to stay again.

  • Quintessential Adirondack experience. Great house on a very nice lake, with even nicer hosts. Everything was taken care of so we could focus on activities and relaxation. Highly recommend.

  • Such a great spot for a getaway weekend with friends or family!

    Sarah2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a terrific house !! Just what my family and I needed. The lake and the dock and the loons kept smiles on our faces all weekend . Nothing disappointed us inside or out . Definitely want to come back , a rustic and vintage treasure !

    Mary2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Dave and Betsy's home on Canada Lake. They met us when we arrived and responded immediately to our questions, which were mostly about places to walk the dogs safely and wildlife we saw. The house had everything we needed and the setting is lovely. Very quiet, relaxing and peaceful. The downstairs bedrooms have double beds (not queen as advertised) which was the only drawback to the house as far as we were concerned. Wonderful wildlife, fantastic stargazing. Well worth it!

    Barbara2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The host was great, very good about communicating with me and very accommodating. The only thing I wish I knew about beforehand was that the house is on well water, but it tasted fine and didn't end up being an issue. The lake is very sandy by the dock which is great for swimming. The house was clean and full of interesting decorations. It was a great weekend and we would definitely go back.

    Carl2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Dave and Betsy's home is truly a hidden gem. It's location on Canada Lake is easy to find. The home itself had anything we needed and was directly on the water. We cannot wait to come back!

    Lakeside Adirondack Home

Auskerada! Nestled on a wooded 3 acre lot at the end of a long stone driveway you'll find a destination that is the epitome of comfort and charm. Natural in every way and decorated in the finest Adirondack style you'll come back year after year.
****There is more to life than being in an alcohol induced coma. Drink responsibly. **NEW** Because of a high demand of guests looking for snowshoe rentals we have purchased some high-end SNOWSHOES that are now available for rental. Please inquire about availability($10/weekend per set. $20/wk per set). A liability/replacement waiver will need to be signed on arrival to cover lost or damaged snowshoes. Quiet seclusion. Located on 3 acres and nestled perfectly and quietly among the native woodland of the southern Adirondack mountains(including balsam, hemlock, maple, and oak trees), Auskerada offers a unique and traditional lodging experience, with seclusion unlike most cabins in the area. Waking up to the sounds of nature you'll will find it effortless to unwind from a world of electronics(but we have those too). As you approach Auskerada you'll notice the rustic charm and care that has gone into such an extraordinary cabin. With all details considered and created by your host, you'll understand why guests come back time and again. From the stone chimney and natural landscaping to its rustic traditional Adirondack railings, you tend to forget the coldness of city life as the log cabin historically exudes warmth and invite even in the dead of winter. You will notice the large inviting promenade style porch along the front of the lodge which harkens back to a day when the porch was the center of neighborly society and conversation. The promenade offers comfortable rocking chairs, ceiling fans, and plenty of lighting for charm and mood including a stained glass post light that bids goodnight to the setting sun, welcoming the moon and the night time serenade of Adirondack wildlife...and asks "How was your day?" when returning from a day of shopping, skiing, hiking, fishing, canoeing, or just a day in the sun. On the south-facing side is a well thought out screened porch(a must have in the Adirondacks) offering a quaint sitting area for reading or a private romantic breakfast. It's the best way to enjoy the outdoors comfortably from nighttime insects. Also what's most inviting in this space is our new hot tub! Lending itself to the desirability of the cabin, this feature offers a spa-like escape for the fatigued hiker(or (URL HIDDEN) and is a perfect remedy for a chill in the autumn or winter air. As you soak in the CLEAN fresh water of the jacuzzi, you will enjoy the sites and peacefulness of the surrounding woodland. Fresh white towels hang next to the hot tub on rustic fish hangers. Ok, enough about that.......let's go inside. Upon entering through the classic front door via keyless entry(your code will be given to you prior to your arrival) you will feel instantly at home. Auskerada's rustic decor is front and center offering a comfort that other cabins cannot provide. The lodge is completely renovated and immaculate right down to the scents, and Adirondack detail that are specifically appointed making you a spoiled guest right from the start. Natural surfaces calm the spirit as an Adirondack getaway is intended to do. Every space is full of detail, comfort, and surprise for the curious traveler. Handmade items, antique finds, and Adirondack art fill these spaces. Two screened-in spaces are available for outdoor comfort. All guests enjoy Pine's Peak all year round(but crisp autumn days are certainly the best. I enjoy listening to the call of the loons on the lake from this space. The hot tub is available for use, but requires an additional charge of $35/wkend or $50/week. We like to try to keep our prices a bit lower for guests who do not wish to use the hot tub.
Auskerada is the last cabin on a dead end road enhancing the privacy.
  • What an amazing cabin, with an excellent host! My husband and I traveled to Auskerada for an unusually cold Memorial Day weekend getaway. The cabin is at the end of a very quiet street, surrounded by nothing but nature. It has everything you can possibly need, including cookware, a grill, games, tv with dvd player, and a great indoor fireplace! It was very cozy and could definitely comfortably accommodate 2 couples and 2 children. The screened in porch was a new addition, and really helped us hang out outdoors without having to worry about bugs. Chris was an amazing host; he was very quick to respond to emails, and was more than happy to give us suggestions and directions while we were there. We loved the cabin and the town (they had a great Memorial Day celebration!), and would definitely come back in the future!

    Maria2013-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing retreat! We absolutely loved the cabin and just like other reviewers have said, the decor was awesome! Getting snowed in was a high point of the trip and watching the snow from the hot tub was superb! We will definitely return as Chris was a great host. If you want a quiet retreat- this is your place!

    Laura2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Words can't describe how amazing of an experience we had at Chris's cabin. The Auskerada lodge wins you over as soon as you drive up and see the warm and welcoming cabin inviting you in. Chris put lots of time and effort into hand crafting the cabin and it's decorations and furniture, and it clearly comes through. The cabin was clean and well equipped with everything you could need. Chris communicated well with us and was accommodating of our late arrival. After a long day of travel we hopped into the hot tub and relaxed in the beautiful ambience of the woods and the cabin. We had a fantastic stay and would do it again in a heartbeat

    Elliott2014-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin. Very cosy. Quiet area. Host has been very helpful. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, I would certainly recommend this cabin. We had a great time!

    Haye2015-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is probably the cleanest AirBnB I've ever stayed at. Beyond that, the cabin is spectacular--the house itself, the surroundings. Everything was beautiful. Sitting in the Jacuzzi, looking out at the forest, everything was perfect. I would highly recommend and definitely return.

    Elizabeth2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Auskerada is truly the most beautiful cabin I've seen, and we felt so lucky to have called it home for our anniversary weekend. The amount of love and attention that Chris has put into the cabin shines out of every cozy corner. The aesthetic is purely Adirondack, from the handmade furniture to the carefully chosen paintings. We enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen (all of the spices and oils we needed), the netted outdoor spaces, the comfy bed and couches, and of course the hot tub! Chris was a fantastic, personable host with great communication up to and during the trip, and his rules were straightforward and easy to follow. I could not have asked for a better experience!

    Alex2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was beautiful in a secluded location, but close to the lake and trails. Everything from the decorations to the hot tubs was great. He was available right away when we had questions. The cabin was clean when we arrived and had everything we needed for a great weekend. My husband and I would definitely return or recommend to anyone looking for the perfect cabin.

    Stacy2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was great. It was very clean, the cleanest rental I have ever been in by far. Everything was comfortable. It would be a great retreat or destination place. We stayed there as an alternative to a hotel because we needed lodging in the area. The price was comparable and the cabin was so much more than a hotel. We spent some time exploring in the woods, hiking, and sledding. We only wish we had more time to spend there. We would love to return the next time we are in the area. Communication was easy and prompt. Our boys (4 and 6) loved it. Again, it was very clean!

  • Trent was an excellent host, always willing to offer his time and insight about the local area and his beautiful home. Stonehaven was immaculate throughout and I would highly recommend Trent and his home for anyone looking to spend some time in the area.

  • Our stay was great. The house had everything we needed and Trent was responsive throughout the whole booking and during our stay. The lake is short 4-minute walk and the lake and town are very quiet. It's a great place if you are looking for peace and quiet.

    Karen2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place definitely lived up to the pictures. It was very clean and new inside. Very quiet and we had a camp fire each night right outside the front door. The town it is located in is very small so make sure to bring what you need to eat/drink as there is not much around. Trent was very quick to respond to any questions. Thank you for a great stay!

  • Trent was very helpful, I had no problems booking the place. The house itself was perfect for us. We had 4 adults and a kid. We loved the house, the yard, the deck, the area, all of it. Id highly recommend staying here.

    Larry2014-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean, well-equipped, and nicely decorated. Extremely kid-friendly. It was a short walk to the lake. We rented a boat and explored East and West Caroga Lake, which are small but fun and great to swim in. Plenty of hiking and nature in the area, and not too far from Utica, Cooperstown, Saratoga Springs, and Howe Caverns. Winter is probably beautiful there. You will need to bring your own Keurig cups and bath towels. Only issues were the old bedding, and communication. The owners did not provide much information about the property before-hand, and were unreachable when we checked in.

  • This is our third stay at this perfect place. The house is big enough for extended family, and the hosts think of EVERYTHING. Sitting in one of the several rockers on the large front porch with family and friends is the perfect way to end the day. The stunning sunsets on the lake and the songs of the loons are icing on the cake. The house has a private and shallow beach, perfect for young children.

    Susan2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house was in great shape and essentially built for hosting large groups. The lake was beautiful and the lot that the house is on has a lot of frontage on the lake and spectacular sunset views. One great thing about the lake was how clear it was... no seaweed or anything, just sand. It also is shallow pretty far out, so it might be a great choice if you have kids. Everything was as expected, no bad surprises or anything. We all had a great time and would definitely consider renting again!

    Izzy2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The property was as advertised. It is a charming spot. The host was very responsive.

    Sam2014-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice house that easily slept all 12 of us. On a dirt road off the main drag. Nice yard along the lake where we were able to set up a couple yard games. Volleyball court on the other side of the house. We had a couple pairs of people go out in the canoes out to the island in the lake. They said it was really nice, but I did not go myself. The sun sets right over the lake; great time for pictures. It also lets you get some more outdoor time in before having to start turning on the outside lights. Porch on the front was great for lounging, deck on the back with a table and umbrella next to the grill. The foosball table got a lot of use while we were there. Kitchen was nicely stocked, linens and towels were provided in each bedroom, and rooms were nicely made up. Everyone commented on how nice the house was. Great house for a relaxing weekend with a large party.

    Robert2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The lake house was a great vacation home for our friends and kids. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay especially the kayaking around the lake. Arica and her mom were always available for all the questions we had. Overall it is a great camp for family and friends.

    Rakhi2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the house and the setting was fantastic! The house and beach felt private and we swam and kayaked and sat and simply enjoyed the view of the lake from both the porch and lakeside. We had one rainy day and the house was stocked with more games than we could play. We (10 women age 60 -72) all recommend this for your next vacation getaway!

    Barbara2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location and the house. The house was large and well set up, everything was clean and ready to go. There were lots of activities available - volleyball (which we didn't get around to), soccer, kayaking on the lake, hikes. We did plenty of kayaking out to Stoner Island, our 6 y/o loved it, as we did. We did some great hikes too, out to a beautiful waterfall, and up to the fire lookout nearby. The countryside is rugged and not overcrowded, some lovely forests and trails are nearby. The vibe of the house was really relaxing, and the late September weather was outstanding. Coolish nights and sunny warm days.

  • We had a wonderful time and family get together with our children. The house was great with it's decor and amenities. It was very clean and the kitchen had alll you needed with new appliances. We used the fire pit one night, played games another and watch a movie too. The lake was a short walk and my only caution is, if one of the guests had difficulty walking, the path to the lake would be hard. Otherwise the was a new dock to swim, sun, or launch you kayak from that we enjoyed at the lake. Our host Nichole was also very helpful and answered all our questions promptly.

  • All we can say is wow! Nicole and Matt really put amazing detail into their cabin, which cant be compared to others. Brand new, beautifully contructed. Nicole was on hand whenever we needed anything. Just a few minutes walk to the dock to fish. Netflix and Hulu to binge watch your favorite shows. Lovely porch to chill. We didnt use the firepit due to weather, but it would be great. Lovely themed bedrooms. It was an equisite couple of days, and we got to meet them both on the last day, a lovely couple. We'll be back. :)

  • We stayed at Nicole's cabin for the long weekend and had a great time. Her cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. She was incredibly communicative and easily accessible for anything. She offered recommendations throughout the weekend to ensure we enjoyed our stay. I would certainly stay again. Thanks Nicole

  • My family and I had a lovely visit at the house. We will definitely try to make it back. Nicole is a great host and has fantastic communication. The house was perfect for my family of four and had so much charm. 5 stars all around.

  • Had a great stay with 7 others. The cabin was clean and cozy and it had lots of amenities and everything else we needed. Everyone had a fantastic time here! The only issue was the water to shower and brush your teeth with; It strongly smelled like rusty/ metal/ blood. I am assuming because it is well water? Otherwise everything else was on point. Thank you Nicole.

  • Great property, perfectly clean. A short walk to the lake. We enjoyed both porches. I would stay here again for sure.

The living room's deep sofa, cushioned daybed and wicker chairs face a stone-backed Jotul woodstove-fireplace and an entertainment armoire with LCD flat-screen TV with basic cable service, VCR, DVD and stereo with a jack for connecting your digital music source to the indoor, porch and outdoor speakers. There's a piano and sheet music, a vintage dollhouse, and a collection of regional guidebooks, cookbooks, children's books, fiction and poetry. • My second stay at Lady of the Lake, and just as lovely as we left it! Would highly recommend it to anyone. I slept better than I have in months!

  • Lady of the Lake made for the perfect weekend retreat with its big beautiful porch, lovely dock with boats at the ready and everything you need to make great meals. The lake is quiet and clean and the view from the house is amazing. Dale is a great host and the house and grounds in excellent shape. Highly recommended!

    Alexander2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Dale's cottage was absolutely perfect. It was quaint but still had everything necessary to have a fantastic experience. It was well equipped with kitchen supplies, firewood and blankets. The only thing I would change is the requirement to bring sheets, since that was a bit of a hassle coming from NYC.

    Isabel2014-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Most relaxing vacation ever. Felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves. Loved watching the small boats go by. So peaceful.

    Dawn2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dale was great - very accessible and helpful. The house is fantastic and very charming. The outside space is awesome - huge decks, long tables for groups, and a fine grill. There is also a dock for direct access to the lake. The house is small but comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

    Carlos2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous time at this beautiful cottage on the lake. We watched the moon rise and reflect on the lake every night from the large screened in porch. It is everything Dale says and more - well equipped kitchen, grill is easy to work, the water is clear and wonderful for swimming and boating. The views are magnificent. This is a charming place - lots of nooks and crannies for relaxing - several hammocks indoors and outdoors. A lovely deck off the master bedroom was great for morning coffee and reading. The sound system has speakers for inside and out on the porch - rocking chairs to relax in too. Beds were very comfortable - good quality mattresses in the bedrooms. I enjoyed the bed on the porch listening to the lake in the cool evenings. This is a gem - we look forward to visiting again. There is a little pie shop in town open on the week-ends with fabulous homemade pies - our favorite was the raspberry.

    Alice2014-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Lady of the Lake was a fantastic place to spend our honeymoon! It was lovely, peaceful, and exactly what my new wife and I needed. The master bedroom with its 3 walls of windows looking over the lake was a particular highlight, as were the chic, rustic appointments throughout the house. We found everything in the listing and in communication with Dale to be true when we arrived, and would recommend it in a heartbeat!

    Patrick2014-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most magical places that I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Dale has created such an incredible gem. So appreciative that she has opened her home to share this special place - It is truly one of a kind.

  • We had 5 Adults, and 3 large dogs, nice fire pit, there was nothing we needed. It was in excellent shape, the stairs are a little steep going into the Loft with two double beds, but I at 81 with two steel hips had no problem. But best of all I got to rock my one month old 24th Great-Grandchild. Probably will return next year for her 1st birthday.

    Barton P2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was clean and cozy, as promised. The hostess, Carol, was warm, kind and resourceful. Carol said to just bring clothes and food, and that was very accurate. She had everything else you would need available: clean towels, linens, water, coffee, wood for the fire pit..and more. The yard is lovely and we very much enjoyed sitting under the trees enjoying a fire each night. Next door neighbor kind and welcoming, as well. The cottage rental was priced fairly. I would recommend this home to someone who wants an Adirondack experience, but is not into camping/tenting or pop-ups.

    LisaMarie2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cabin in the woods with a short (but steep-ish) walk to the edge of a beautiful ADK lake (West Caroga). The cabin was clean and comfy, Carol was welcoming and helpful, and the area stunning. Recommend.

    Kent2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was a great host. She makes sure guests are comfortable and have everything needed for a nice stay. Use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps to get there, we got a little lost on the way.

    Stephanie2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this cabin and we particularly loved kayaking around the lakes and marshes of the adirondacks. The cabin is cozy sweet and user friendly. We had everything we needed.

    Harriet and Marie2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's place was super cute and extremely clean, the perfect size for our family, and much more quaint and attractive then the pictures showed. The backyard is pretty private, and is very sweet - with a really nice umbrella and nice lighting, fire pit, outdoor chalkboard the kids enjoyed, plenty of seating, grill, etc. Carol was also SO helpful, leading up to our reservation, and even offered to extend our stay due to the rain that (unfortunately) hung around for most of our trip. She was a thoughtful host, but not at all overbearing, and we truly appreciated her extra effort. We would definitely consider staying at Carol's place again!

    Carly2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin/house in the woods, great deck, backyard, firepit, short walk to lake and short drives to dozens of lakes in the area.  Definitely recommended!

  • Great cabin for a weekend getaway! Very clean, quiet and a large kitchen to cook in. The lake was just a short walk away and is beautiful and secluded! Carol was a gracious host and very accommodating! We would stay again!

  • Larry was a gracious host, welcoming but not obtrusive. The family enjoyed the cabin, the fire pit in back and the overall Adirondack feel. There are lakes very close by to enjoy, and lots of trails too.

    Kevin2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was as advertised. Larry was a great host, very friendly and helpful with local suggestions. There were only 2 of us, so there was a lot of extra room as it would be comfortable for 6. The landscaping was nice, as was the option for a fire inside or outside. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend exploring the Adirondacks.

    Travis2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect Memorial Day weekend retreat for six friends looking to get out of NYC. Larry was fantastic and gave us the low-down on what to do, and the lodge was cozy and just right for what we needed. We did two different beautiful hikes and spent an afternoon leisurely kayaking around one of the lakes. The wifi worked well for our needs, like checking the weather and occasional email, but we wanted to disconnect anyway. We cooked most meals, and the kitchen was equipped with all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed. And of course we loved ending every day at the outdoor fire pit under the stars!

    Natalie2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Larry was awesome. Super available and super nice. The cabin was perfect for our situation and my friends and I had a great stay. Larry really made our stay there wonderful.

    Cameron2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Lodge was perfect for exploring the Southern Adirondacks and Larry was a great host! The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The hiking trails that Larry suggested were perfect for our group of six adults with varying hiking abilities. Paddling the river and lakes was peaceful and quiet. The house easily accommodated the six of us for a week and we were pleased to find a full size bed in addition to the queen bed that was listed. (The other bedrooms have a bunk and twin respectively.) One of the drawbacks of The Lodge is that it is located on Route 10 which is busier than being tucked away somewhere in the woods. If you are sitting on the absolutely beautiful porch you can expect a vehicle to drive by at 55 mph every few minutes. Also, we were only able to open two window upstairs (one in the master bedroom and one in the bathroom) so it did get warm and stuffy in some of the other bedrooms even with the fans that Larry provided. I included the above because I look for details from the reviews before booking places and they were enough to keep me from giving it a 5 but overall The Lodge is certainly a 4.5!

    Laura2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • I rented The Lodge this past weekend with 7 girlfriend for a little bachelorette retreat. What a lovely experience!! Even with some weather-related challenges, we had a great time. Larry was readily available to answer questions and also called to check in periodically. His neighbors were friendly as well & even helped us change a flat!! Lots of great lakes & hikes nearby, many we did not get to explore. Beautiful region of the ADK park, I'll definitely need to get back this way again for more adventures. Thumbs up Larry!!

    Kassidy2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was just what we were looking for - an alternative from the city life - something cozy with a wood burning fireplace, where we could easily access hiking trails and scenic destinations. Larry was fantastic in communicating with us about getting settled in and offered many tips on the area. His cabin is located just a short walk to a few hiking trails, and there are another 10 trails within a 10 minute drive in any direction. Get the Nat Geo trail map, which is sold at the Canada Lake Marina / gas station / general store. It's a great source for information on the trails. When we arrived there was already 20 inches of snow on the ground and drive up the mountain at night during a rainy-snow was somewhat horrowing for us as we didn't have a proper vehicle. I imagine that this is the perfect place for a group of outdoorsy people that would fish and hunt all day and then settle into a good meal around the fireplace. I have never seen a fireplace as large as in this cabin. It's great. Great area and great memories hiking out the Jockeybush Trail through 20 inches of snow using Larry's snowshoes, and then up to the Mt. Kane Firewatch Tower/Trail. From that top of that tower you can see for miles in each direction. See you next time.

    Kevyn2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Larry is such a gracious host. He took care to call me as we were traveling up to offer directions and make sure we arrived safely. Once we got there, he arranged kayaks and a canoe for us to explore the river nearby - simply fantastic views. I definitely wanted to unplug so I had no problem with hacking limited wifi/no cell service, but for those who need it there's a phone in the Lodge. Larry and his neighbors are incredibly friendly. Larry has decorated and renovated the Lodge beautifully. The interior is rustic and comfy. My friends and I joked the couch and lazy boys were so comfortable we couldn't get up! During our stay we lit up a fire in the gorgeous indoor fireplace, cooked with the grill, and just spent good quality time together as friends - the perfect weekend getaway. I highly highly recommend!! Plus, at the end, Larry took pictures of our entire group with the kayaks and the lodge in the background with his drone! :D you definitely won't be disappointed if you stay here.

Beautiful coastal inspired beach cottage. Huge enclosed front porch for living and dining decorated in whimsical vintage wicker. Our cottage comes with a fully stocked kitchen granite island for food prep or just sitting in the kitchen. This cottage is from a bye gone era, charming , with all modern amenities. Our linens are all cotton and we have Tea pots and chinathat gives our guests the ultimate relaxation and beauty. We have a pot belly stove for cooler evenings.
Its a one of a kind cottage, designer decorated every detail thought out for the ultimate comfort.
This is a family neighborhood. No parties and no noise after 10pm
  • We were coming to the area for a family reunion, and this is our first experience with Airbnb. Overall, we were very impressed and happy with our stay here. Liane was there waiting for us when we checked in. She showed us around and happily answered any questions that we had. The cottage was very warm, inviting, and better than we expected. The pictures here don't do it justice, and it has more room than it looks. The entire place is completely furnished, including the kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe, and you're about a 2 minute walk from a private (deeded) beach on Caroga Lake (Liane set out 2 chairs with cushions for guests to enjoy). There's also a solid phone/Internet/TV connection. We would love to stay here again, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area!

    Christopher2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Liane was there to greet us as we arrived. She is super helpful and sweet. The place looks even more amazing than it does in the pictures. Next time we are in the area, we are definitely coming back!

  • We stayed at the Endless Summer Cottage over the 4th July weekend and can’t wait to go back already. Liane has done an amazing job decorating the cottage and you feel very at home from the moment you arrive. The cottage is clean, up to date and beautifully furnished. It also includes a grill and a fire pit in the backyard. You will feel comfortable in the neighborhood as well, where people are friendly and it is very safe. The beach area is only a minute walk away and Liane has two Adirondack chairs reserved for you on the beach. Would highly recommend this cottage. We had the best experience possible with both the house itself and also with Liane and her husband being the perfect hosts.

    Kasper2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Beach Cottage was a lovely place for me and my friends to stay. You can get a sense of the beautiful decoration and comfy atmosphere in the photos. The lake is nearby and guests get access to the private back which was amazing and such a treat. Overall the house was great for us. The listing does not specify that there is one bedroom downstairs with a full bed, and the entire second floor is the second bedroom with 1 full bed and 3 twins. The listing states 6 beds. The 6th bed might be the couch? I'm not sure, but the set up worked fine for our group of friends.

    Molly2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Liane couldn't have been nicer! She was there waiting for us and extremely apologetic that the septic tank had backed up and the toilet wouldn't work. She quickly came up with alternatives, which saved the day -- and had the septic guy come out first thing the next morning-- a Sunday! Of a holiday weekend! It was awesome! The place is totally adorable, and part of a very nice little summer colony with friendly inhabitants. The only drawback was that its usual quiet, especially after ten pm, was shattered by some noisy renters next door-- not the fault of our hostess, but probably due to its being a holiday weekend.

    Lissy2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is nice!!! Full of decorations!! We had lots of fun backyards for the BBQ and bonfire. It is easy to get everything we need from the house. It would be a little bit cold at night during Oct, but the cottage is full of sunshine during the daytime!!!! Love it! Since we have a group of seven, it takes time for us to get hot water for shower. Autumn there is so beautiful!!!!!

  • The cottage provided the perfect environment for our winter get-away. It was warm & cozy, yet provided plenty of space for my family of 4, plus my parents. The spacious kitchen made preparing meals a breeze and the dining room table was perfect for playing games.

I bought this 1920's lake house in December of 2016. It is essentially a new home as it was totally renovated. The house boosts the beauty of the lake. There is 45 ft of private flat sandy beach with a very gradual decline into the deeper water. Snowmobiling is great here with local groomed trailed will bring you all over the ADK.
50 min to Saratoga, 3 miles to Royal Ski Mtn 1 hour from Albany New forced hot air heating system.

Gorgeous lakefront home boasting an open floor plan and hard wood floors. Enjoy the sunrises and sunsets on the dock and porches. This room has a new queen mattress. Wake up to loons calling and a gorgeous panorama of the lake and mountains.
Beautiful Lakehouse located in the Southern Adirondack Mountains. Cozy front porch and sunroom overlooking the lake and mountains. There are four bedrooms, two of which I rent. There are two full bathrooms, dining room, living room and kitchen. Use of the beach and dock are included as well as a fire pit near the lake.
I love the serenity of the lake and easy access to hiking, biking, swimming, fishing and boating. There is a local golf course and marina nearby. Popular attractions include: Lake George, Saratoga Performing Arts Center and Racecourse, Cooperstown Opera, Fenimore Art Museum, Farmers Museum and the Baseball Hall of Fame. We are also home to the Caroga Lake Music Festival from mid-July to mid-August.
  • This was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Lake front property with access and immediate view. Surrounded by The Adirondack forest and mountains. Wonderful outdoor opportunities for hiking, fishing, kayaking, and a small campfire. Very relaxing and peaceful. Sue was a wonderful host. Very upbeat, positive, and friendly. And she has two cuddly dogs who were very welcoming to us. We will always recommend this BnB to all our friends. And we look forward to our next visit.

  • We spent a week there during summer relaxing and enjoying the little town of Lake Caroga. Sue was there when we arrived and during all the week and she was very helpful and nice to talk to. Lake Caroga is a very quiet town and her house has access to the lake. We could swim, use the canoe, etc, and even made fires near the lake. Nice porch, nice house, nice sofas. Sue has 2 friendly dogs going around the house, which was ok for us since we like dogs. Good experience!

    Anna2015-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's home was so cozy and warm during the frigid cold weekend we were up there, her dogs were a delight- so sweet and loving. We had a clean and comfortable room overlooking beautiful caroga lake and it was just the peace and solitude we needed. We will definitely be returning in the summer!!

  • Sue was wonderful and we really enjoyed staying with her. The room is as described and the house is lovely. Sue helped us find hikes and was nice about letting us cook in her kitchen and watch movies in her living room. I'm not generally a dog person but her two dogs were also really sweet. Sue made us feel very welcome and I would definitely stay there again.

Full size washer/dryer. Walk to bars and restaurants. Several Golf courses to choose from when not participating in water sports! The home has a large kitchen, great for cooking or grill with the charcoal grill. Outside picnic table and fire pit. Three season porch to gaze at the water and mountains.
There are bars and restaurants in walking distance to the house. Sandy beach and lake bottom makes for wonderful swimming and lake fun!
  • We had a great relaxing weekend and the house accommodated to everything we needed. It was a nice spot for a mini getaway from the city. The host communicated quickly and was informative.

Located just a short walk to a private sandy beach on West Caroga Lake, my 1940's camp is furnished with all the comforts of home - plenty of games for all ages, large movie, tv shows, reading, and music libraries. With a recently updated, decorated, and artistically inspired interior, the property has a fire pit, and plenty of seating outdoors and dining to enjoy days and evenings with family and friends. Fulton County has 44 lakes and many hiking trails and restaurants with live music.
Caroga Lake is a wonderful lakeside neighborhood. The lake is excellent for swimming, boating, and fishing. A few miles away is the Nick Stoner Municipal Golf Course, hiking trails, and several restaurants and bars. Close to Saratoga Springs, this idyllic Adirondack home is a relaxing and refreshing getaway.
  • Nice camp on Caroga Lake. It was close to the main roads that could take you to great hikes, more lakes and ice cream. Walking distance to necessities and the best part was one block from the private beach which the kids loved. Thank you!

  • We booked Camp Caroga fairly last minute & could not have found a better temporary home had we searched longer & harder. We were visiting family in the area & Kelly's camp became such an embracing home base. The open kitchen made meals a joy, the master bedroom was a perfect retreat, we walked the few flower-lined steps to the water whenever the urge struck to swim or fish or stroll, & we ended each night by the fire pit. The cottage is funky & rustic, though it warmed right up with use & all the details of Kelly's artistic eye slowly came to our attention. We hope to return & wish others the same experience of reprieve from the day to day. Enjoy!

  • Camp Caroga was the perfect cozy weekend getaway. Kelly was extremely responsive and helpful with directing us to activities in the area. The house was very well equipped and organized and was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. We appreciated the abundance of board games and the backyard set up with the outdoor fire pit as well as all the cooking tools you could hope for.

  • Great value. House is easy to find. Sleeps 8 but 2-4 adults and a bunch of kids would work best. Our two couples fit fine. House is a little quirky (round windows) but it grows on you. Lake Caroga is beautiful and a short block away. Sunset walks very pleasant on road along lake front. . We used the house as base camp while we spent 3 day biking along Erie Canal and had a great time. Drive to canal was convenient and scenic. Owner quick to react and helpful with small problem we had.

  • The lake house was great! Loved all the decor, made us all feel right at home. The place is big and it had enough rooms for all 5 of us to have our own. The home isn't on the lake but it's only a 3 minute walk to a private beach. The lake is crystal clear and the trails close to the house are great too. There are few good restaurants and bars near by and the kitchen is well stocked so cooking there was easy. The backyard was great as well, it had a table to sit at and a fire pit. Kelly was there when we arrived and showed us around the house. She was a great host and we all had a wonderful time. We'll definitely be back for another long weekend!

    Sarah2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly was extremely easy to connect with, as she was easily accessible by text or phone, from trip preparations to check-out. The house was situated a very short distance from the lake beach and the neighborhood was very cute, and neighbors were so kind. We had a gaggle of children that we had to wear out each day and the area is absolutely perfect with multiple lake fronts and hiking paths within a 10-15 min drive. There are some local stores and spots within walking distance, but you have to be prepared to have all your favorite foods with you or trek a few miles away to get them! The space is equipped with just enough room and supplies, and the kids loved the backyard area (as did the parents!). We even arrived to a basket of s'mores ingredients waiting for us! We enjoyed our trip and were really happy to have stayed in Kelly's house. Thank you!

  • Kelly's camp is the perfect getaway. I came up here with a group of friends for a long weekend and we couldn't have been happier with the place to stay and the lake nearby. The house is decorated with fabrics from around the world, giving it a cozy bohemian vibe. We loved the music collection and the kitchen as well. Would definitely come back again!

    Caroga Lake, NY, United States

This is a beautiful lake front (just across the street) camp on West Caroga Lake that is perfect for a 1-2 family getaway. It is a perfect FAMILY place - a sandy beach that is waist deep for ~100' out, canoe's/lifejackets/floats for use, almost always kids in the neighborhood looking to play, a walking/biking neighborhood, near hikes, blueberry picking, crystal grove diamond mines.
The camp has 4 small bedrooms: 3 with double beds, 1 with a set of twin bunk beds and one crib in the house. Almost every room in the house has a view of the lake (only Bedroom 3 and the bathrooms are lacking) and while the bedrooms are small all the living areas are generous. It has a large kitchen that opens onto the living room with a view of the lake and a great fireplace. There is a semi-separate sitting area at the front of the camp with a 180 degree view of the lake front with reading chairs/rockers and a large oak round table (see pictures!). The wrap around porch has a porch swing as well as an area for dining. The porch faces both the lake and the side street which frequently has families going to and from the beach. While the house is lakefront the beach is across Caroga Lake Shore road and the beach is semi-private as it is managed by the Lakeview grove association (~20 camps up Lakeview ave that have rights to the beach along with our own camp). This is really a benefit to families as there are often other kids and people on the beach and the beach has a bin of toys available for use. The beach is sandy and is only waist deep for the first 100 feet or so which is wonderful for kids to play in. It is a CAMP - that is the plumbing is lake water and is not-potable. It is on septic that we treat nicely (yellow-mellow) but have not had any issues with. The furnishings are eclectic - old family photos, a random mix of dressers with no consistent style, beautiful 'Bob Ross' style paintings (by my Aunt who was a master instructor), some unfinished & un-level spaces. There is limited heat - a few small space heaters but not in all bedrooms and the main heat is the fireplace, this is sufficient in summer which is the only time we use or rent the camp. Aside from these nuances, which guests have adapted to quickly in the past, it lives and functions as a vacation lake house.
The camp is on the corner of Caroga Lake Shore road and Lakeview Avenue. The camp shares a private beach with the other residents of Lakeview Grove - during the week there are very few people and on weekends it can get quite busy. Every year we go up and almost immediately my kids find friends in the neighborhood to play with and almost without fail they will setup a lemonade stand. We recommend this for families with children for this reason - it is a camp to be social with others in the neighborhood, not a private hideout in the trees

  • Spent a great time in the cabin, Dave was very helpful before, during and after the stay!

    Thomas2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The host was readily available with any questions. Cute, simple and rustic cabin with a cozy indoor fireplace and a fun outdoor fire pit. We loved how quiet the nights were, and really appreciated the coffee provided in the morning! The lake is a short walk away (definitely worth checking out), and the drive through the Adirondacks is simply beautiful. Reception is spotty, so be prepared to enjoy an "unplugged" vacation. Thanks Dave!

  • Great spot near lake, the apt was very comfortable and had all the amenities needed. BBQ and fire-pit made for a lovely evening. Surrounding community were very nice and helpful folks as well.

  • Dave's communication was near instantaneous and very helpful. We had a great time exploring the lake and surrounding trails for the holiday week. The cabin was very clean, well-equipped and just the right size for my wife and I and our small son. Quiet neighborhood kept everything peaceful and relaxing!

    Brian2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. The house is just a short walk away from the lake. Dave was quick to help out when we had an issue when we checked in late the first night. The water heater was not working, and Dave had arranged with his brother and had it fixed first thing in the morning. I would also suggest renting a boat at Caroga Lake Marina. They are great people over there. It is just a few minutes from Gloversville or Johnstown if you need something that you can't get locally.

    Peter2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Dave's cottage is pretty nice and cozy. Love the fire pit, gas grill, the yard, the kitchen and the fresh scent of the linen. You can always find what you need at this cottage: various of utensils, coffee machine, board game, travel guide and ice in the fridge. Another thing I wan to to say is this cottage is very suitable for family with kids, since it has one queen bed and two twin beds. The location is pretty nice for a relaxed vacation: only 5 min walk to a small lake. We walked down there to see stars, which is awesome. You can also rent a boat at a nearby marina(~5miles). Grocery store is near and supply everything you may need. 1-2h drive to sarotoga, lake George and some whitewater rafting&tubing sites. Dave is quite helpful and considerable. And the price is very friendly too. Strongly recommend!

My place is close to The woods, Hinkley Lake, West Canada Creek, Black Creek, Jerseyfield Wild Forest, great fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and hiking. You’ll love my place because of Because of the seclusion and proximity to nature and wildlife. Yet, there is a working refrigerator, TV and wireless internet access. The cabin has no running water, however, the outhouse uses an RV toilet so it is not like a typical composting toilet.
This is a unique off the grid, Adirondack Cabin, made out of local Rough cut lumber cut by loggers and sawn by Amish craftsman. My brother and I built the cabin. There is a propane stove, refrigerator and hard connected lamps (2). The outhouse is conveniently located off the back of the cabin. There are 2 wood burning stoves. One on the back deck for three season heating and another inside, to keep you cozy at night. There is a propane heater that can be lit to come on when the fire goes out, so you don't have to get up in the middle of the night to stoke the fire. I've cut plenty of fire wood for you to use on the stoves. There is a unique deck system; the back deck is covered for outdoor/out of the weather experience, this wraps around to the front where a glass sliding door lets you into the cabin by the kitchen. The wrap around deck is covered by the second story deck, which comes off the open bed area upstairs. There is a third story deck for wildlife observation, Bird watching and star gazing. The views are nice from up there. The cabin is outfitted with solar power (please turn the power off during the day to let the batteries charge, when your out hiking, fishing, hunting, kayaking or whatever) that powers a TV; satellite dish programming, internet connectivity, wireless access and lights. With all that you really don't miss a lot of the amenities. My son loves to get on line and play video games at night. The shining star of the Adirondack experience is the outdoors. I have a great fire pit for you and friends to build a large bon fire, listen to the wildlife (Owls, Coyotes, fishers have all been heard at night in the distance), star gaze and spot satellites, and enjoy each others company with some adult beverages. I have plenty of fire wood next to the pit for you to burn this year. I can't promise that in the future, but this year there is plenty. The 212+/- acres is exquisite, when I'm out there in the woods I feel closer to the life force of the universe. Down the hill from the camp is an excellent trout fishing stream, known as Millbrook. There is an excellent swimming hole just off the corner of the property, known as slanted rock. Out about a half mile from Slanted Rock, upstream, is the high falls. Its easier to get to high falls by taking the logging trail on the left when facing east when your at the cabin, walking along the highland and turning north when you see the state land signs. The logging trail continues from there to go to the northeast corner of the property. Diverging north at any point after seeing the state land sign will funnel you to the high falls, you can't miss the sound. Going down the middle road, which we call the meadow road, a few hundred feet and you hit the meadow. The logging road continues for some distance here and takes you to the southeast corner of the property. To east and then south from here, out on the state land, is a high promontory that points south out toward dairy hill. The views are pretty cool in that direction. Be careful there are some steep drop offs here. I have heard rumors that there are Indian caves in this vicinity, but have never found them myself. The road to the right, when you are standing at the cabin heads off to hedgehog mountain, which you can see from the cabin and is the least used part of the property. That said, I have tree stands that you can use, four of them are setup now and I have five more that will be setup in time for the hunting season.
This is part of the Adirondack Park, the Jerseyfield Wild Forest. There are thousands of acres of state land off the north and east sides of the property that go for miles. Essentially, the only neighbors that are there year round are a half mile down the road.
  • Craig's place was great. Definitely hike to slanted rock beach, build a fire, and go swimming.

  • Craig's cabin is rustic and secluded, the only noise you'll here is a nearby creek. We went wading in that creek several times which was great, no one else around, just us and nature. We also took several hikes on the property, using Craig's careful directions we were able to hike off trail to a beautiful waterfall. Deer can be heard by the edge of the property at night. This is a great place to stay if you're willing to give up indoor plumbing for private forest adventures while still having wifi. Craig let us alone but was responsive and very helpful by text.

  • A wonderful, relaxing place, better than expected. Took a few hikes the first day. A huge thunderstorm cut things short (but I will admit it was scary-cool as it came in), but overall had a great time. Most relaxed I have been in a long time. I rented this cabin as I wanted to go to a place where I felt like I was in a secluded place and this place absolutely delivers in that respect. Heard Coyotes at night and grunting from some other creatures as well. Would like to come back next year. Craig was great to deal with.

  • Great place to relax. Sarah was an awesome host.

    George2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Camp Kumenagen was a Godsend for me this summer. I needed a place to escape south Florida heat and entertain my kids. I rented it for the month of July and loved every minute of it. We disconnected from city life immediately and were reluctant to return to it. The photos Sarah has online are spot on. Her home is welcoming and charming in the lake/Adirondack decor. This home has been in her family for generations and the photos on the wall are genuine family history of this camp. The years of happiness here are palpable. If you've ever gone to someone's cozy home or camp and secretly wished you could stay longer- this is that place. GPS will bring you right to the doorstep and all you need is your comfy clothes and camera to capture the beautiful scenery. Cellphone reception is spotty at best and there is no internet service. I wanted it that way for a variety of reasons - but there is a landline and cable tv, so you're not stranded or cut off from the crazy world. Bring your own towels and sheets. One double bed and four twin beds make it a very spacious getaway for a family, as the camp officially sleeps 8 if you use the pullout couch. As with most seasonal lake homes, there is running water but it's lake water so you need to bring water for drinking and cooking.

  • Mark and Lindsay let me book last minute, and we're very accommodating on my flexible check in. I adored this place. All sorts of barn materials have been reclaimed to build it. The old wood stove is delightful. Sure, there's no shower, but I heated up some water and had a little washcloth bath. The bathroom is thoughtfully appointed with toiletries. I loved listening to all the barnyard sounds as I lay in bed. The animals are a riot, especially the Mrs. Pig! Lindsay brought me some breakfast materials and home laid eggs. If you're looking for a truley unique Airbnb experience, this is the place to stay.

  • A truly unique experience. The farm was beautiful and the milk house was a rustic adventure. Mark and Lindsay were excellent hosts. The animals were fun and we had a wonderful time.

  • The space is beautiful and a lot of fun. Sleeping in it was such a treat after watching a sunset. We went to some magnificent waterfalls nearby, walked around the farm land, ate lots of picnics, enjoyed the smells and sounds of all the animals. It was wonderful to experience a different life for a few days at the milk house. Linsday and Mark are great people and their family is the stuff that dreams are made of.

    J2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived to Mark and Lindsay's organic farm at dusk the evening of check in, and were met by a warm and welcoming Lindsay and a flock of beautiful chickens in the driveway! The milk house sits alongside a classic red barn, and it was just perfect for a couple nights in the country. Basic, but very well equipped, we had everything we needed for our stay - we especially enjoyed sitting and watching the stars come out, in front of a fire on the deck. Lindsay and Mark provided ample fire wood and kindling to get us started, but let us know where to get more wood. We took advantage and had lovely campfires each night - enjoying local NY state wine and beer from the nearby Ommegang brewery. From St Johnsville we took a day trip on the Erie Canal at Herkimer, and drove to Cooperstown for brewery visits and a look at the beautiful finger lakes. Mark and Lindsay were the perfect hosts - professional, kind, available, and happy to entertain all our detailed questions about how the farm worked. Cannot wait to return - thank you Mark and Lindsay!

  • Hidden gem, incredible rustic cabin on a beautiful farm. Mark and Lindsay were amazing hosts, very generous, easy-going and friendly. We had drinks on the porch watching the sunset, met some of the farm animals and made a cozy fire in the wood stove at night. The next day we took eggs and meat home with us. We had a wonderful stay and hope to come back again!

  • Great get away. Just be mindful of the races if you mind a little noise. The quit promptly at 11 when we were there. Didn't bother us at all.

  • Super find in Caroga Lake 2 doors down from Royal mountain. Pet and family-friendly in a charming lodge with a spacious, open living space. Kept very clean, and we all loved the easy access to hike Royal.

  • Like the house and enjoy the stay. The view outside is beautiful and the house is right next to a ski trail. Definitely recommend this place.

  • Caroga Lake is a great little town, and the location of this listing worked very well for us. It was near enough to Johnstown to be able to get groceries and other supplies easily, but also relatively isolated. The cabin is furnished adequately and comfortably. The electric combo lock on the door is a GREAT idea. We enjoyed our stay.
