I live in the old part of Tiverton town - just south of the river Exe. It's a historical mid-Devon town with easy access to Exmoor and Dartmoor and the north and south coastline. Main supermarkets are nearby (Morrisons, Tesco, Marks & Spencer) plus a fantastic local bakery, butcher and wine store a stones-throw away! Also close by is a recommended Indian cuisine restaurant/takeaway and excellant fish-n-chips eat-in or takeaway. The beautiful Knighthayes Court (https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/knightshayes) owned by the National Trust is also very close which has lovely open gardens, fields and idyllic woodland. Open all year round from 7 am. The scenic Grand Western Canal begins in Tiverton and winds its way north many miles ending at Lowdwells which is also great for dog walkers.

This is a newly refurbished Annexe - light and airy with a new shower room and adjoining WC. There are tea and coffee making facilities with essentials provided, and a fridge for your convenience. The property is situated ten minutes from Tiverton and two minutes from the A361 - the main route in to North Devon and Exmoor, and North Cornwall. Extra service: we welcome your dog at an extra charge of £5 per night. If there is more than one dog, please chat to us first
The property is situated on the edge of Exmoor in an elevated south facing position with stunning views towards Dartmoor. It has a large level dog proof garden and no near neighbours. Rolling farmland and woodland are a feast for the eyes!
The property is positioned midway between the two villages of Stoodleigh and Oakford, both pretty villages with pubs and churches. The area is tranquil and rural with spectacular views - yet not isolated. Tiverton is a ten minute drive away with shops and supermarkets and a railway station. There are many walks from the property - particularly of interest to those guests that bring their canine friends!
  • We stayed here for 4 months after we sold our house before moving to the Midlands. As a long let, Sarah added extra amenities i.e. a fridge, armchairs, microwave, heater to make our stay during the winter months cosy and homely. The accommodation was cleaned weekly with fluffy fresh towels. Sarah was a great host, contacting us regularly to make sure we were happy. The views were amazing and we would not hesitate to recommend Sarah’s place for short or long stays.

    Karen2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed just one night at Sarah’s place as I was going to a friend’s party nearby, so unfortunately I didn’t spend that much time there. It is a really lovely place, with fabulous views from the deck outside the room; it would be perfect for a longer stay especially in the summer when you could sit out there in the evenings! The room itself was great, with a very comfortable bed, plenty of storage, and a decent TV (which I didn’t watch but did use as a radio while I was getting ready to go out). The small lobby area has a kettle, fridge and the makings of tea and coffee, and there is a beautiful shower room and separate toilet. Everything is stylishly decorated in relaxing tones, and was sparkling clean.

  • Fantastic place and owner (sarah) location etc lovely place

    Scott2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little place, lovely and clean with THE BEST views in the area! So relaxing sitting outside drinking a cuppa or a glass of wine overlooking the rolling hills. Definitely recommend, and if you're in the area don't miss out on a meal in the stunning historical The Stag pub, 2 miles away and 800 years old!

Set in Bampton, The Garden Cottage is within easy walking distance of all the local amenities; butcher, baker, greengrocer and two small supermarkets. The village is blessed with several fine, very popular eateries including a Top 50 Gastropub. On the edge of Exmoor, Bampton is surrounded by beautiful countryside and only 40 minutes from Exeter. The cottage has electric heating and a wood burner and is set within a fenced driveway and garden. A BBQ is supplied for guests' use. Dogs are welcome.
  • The great place to stay and close to local pubs and restaurants. Lovely decoration and very comfortable

    Satoko2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at The Garden Cottage. All the added extras such a coffee, milk, eggs etc were very much appreciated and made life so much easier. The Garden Cottage was very clean and tidy and was the perfect pit stop for our one night stay after a long drive down on the way to visit friends.

    Jonny2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed one night at Garden Cottage but wished we could have stayed longer! Perfectly located near to great local amenities and lovely walks, such a lovely spot to unwind and completely switch off. Clare had thought of everything, with special touches throughout. A wonderful, peaceful (and spotless) cottage with everything you could possibly need. Can’t wait to go back!

    Heather2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a three night stay in this lovely cottage in the sweet village of Bampton. Lots of lovely walks in the nearby National Park. Clare was fabulous host and the cottage was warm and cosy. The dogs loved it too!

    Clive2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a little gem! Perfect location in the village and close to lots of great eateries. Lovely fish and chips from the local chip shop, breakfast at the Toucan (super dog friendly) and evening meal at The Swan. The accommodation was immaculately clean and well equipped. We were slightly worried when it said electric heating but they were efficient heaters rather than night storage heaters and kept the place really cosy even during Storm Ciara. The woodburner was lovely for nights in and Clare kept us topped up with logs. Perfect base for us to explore the area with our dog. Thank you Clare.

    Tori2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, beautifully furnished and in a handy location close to the village and walks, what’s not to love about this cottage? We visited in January and so the log-burning stove was a highlight for us. Clare made us welcome and the complimentary groceries were a surprise and much appreciated. Would definitely recommend.

    Bill2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy and spotlessly clean cottage for 2. Clare was so thoughtful and provided all the essentials (and more) for our stay. Fantastic communications and we would highly recommend to any couple wanting to visit the area...

    Paul2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous cottage! Everything you could wish for. Warm, cozy, spotlessly clean, great location, and great selection of food available on arrival. Lots of little shops nearby, and plenty of quaint villages. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be back!

We also have a small lockable garage with EV 7.7 kW untethered charger for classic or Electric vehicle. The garage is 4.8m long with a 2m by 2m door. Contact us for availability.

    Vanessa2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly beautiful place to stay in Devon. Jill and Andrew are perfect hosts respecting your privacy but there if you need them. The cottage is immaculate and modern with tasteful decor. Highly recommended!!

  • You can expect a warm welcome along with little extras like fresh flowers, local milk sausages and not forgetting the biscuits. The barn conversion is of a high standard throughout and the views are awesome. We had planned our days out but found it was so peaceful and tranquil we stayed in and enjoyed the decking area and the numerous visits of the deer. The ideal place to de-stress.

    Susan2019-05-21T00:00:00Z

  • Everything about Jane & Chris's place is great, from their lovely cute and friendly dog Bumble, to the super shower, and log fire in the private living room. The place is in a gorgeously historical location, next to a ruined mill, where it would be great to sit in warmer weather. Jane was very attentive, and made sure we always had everything we wanted, but we were left to enjoy our privacy too. Couldn't have wished for a better experience. Highly recommended.

The house is clean and tidy, it's a really lovely place to stay, homely and comfortable. I hadn't noticed breakfast was included and that was a lovely extra touch for me. Being right in the middle of Tiverton was fantastic, shops and supermarkets just a few mins walk away. I loved staying here and wouldn't hesitate to return. Spacious and comfortable self-contained accommodation with expansive south facing views of the quiet Devon countryside. Consisting of the converted first floor of a historic farm building, The Granary is conveniently located close to Exmoor, Dartmoor and north and south coast beaches. The property has a double and twin bedrooms, bathroom (bath with shower), kitchen (oven, washing machine and fridge) and living room with dining area. Private garden with space to park two cars.
The space is entirely self contained and private.
We are in a rural location conveniently placed just 10 minutes outside Tiverton. Tiverton is a medium sized market town with a mainline trainline into London Paddington, remains of medieval castle, supermarkets, weekly centuries old Pannier market, a new swimming pool and plenty of parkland. Gold Street is the independent shop quarter and there are a plethora of cafes to enjoy. We enjoy visiting 'Knightshayes' National Trust property only 10 mins away on the outskirts of Tiverton and the wonderful parkland and gardens there. Beautiful and historic Exeter is 40 mins away. Barnstaple is 40 mins away. Taunton is 35 mins away. Alternatively you may simply enjoy a 40 min stroll into Rackenford to sample the delights of 'The Stag' Inn, delicious food served at the latter end of the week. We are close to National Cycle Route 3 between Lands' End and Bristol, which passes through beautiful Dulverton on the edge of Exmoor (20 mins away). Our favourite coastal locations are Lynton/Lynmouth on the north coast (1 hour), and family beach at 'Putsborough' beach near the surfing havens at Croyde and Woolacombe (just over an hour). Child-friendly activities are plentiful, our favourites being the 'Devon Railway Centre' at Bickleigh Mill and 'Quince Honey Farm' just near South Molton. Both have inside and outside activities in case of inclement weather. We are excellently places for craft courses held at ‘The Bulworthy Project’ . However, one of the best things to do with little ones is a short walk down our pretty quiet lane to paddle at the little stream at the end! We've compiled a folder containing local activities and sights of interest for you to browse through when you arrive.

Beautiful stone (semi detached) cottage set in rolling Devonshire countryside on a working venison farm. Close to Exmoor National Park, Hunter's Cottage is a cosy, recently refurbished one bedroom barn conversion, with a south facing garden and direct access to miles of footpaths and bridleways. With a wood burning stove, modern kitchen, comfortable bed and power shower room, Hunter's Cottage is a great base from which to explore all that Devon and Somerset have to offer.
Outside, there is a patio area and simple lawned garden with elevated views across the farm yard to the wooded valley opposite. The cottage is adjacent to a stable block where horses are kept. Our friendly dogs, who might bark from time to time, will want to make friends. We are a working hill farm where we produce red deer for venison. You might also see wild deer, fox, badger, bats, and hear owls at night. Logs for the wood burner are free and you can collect these from our barn. There is a footpath and bridleway through our farm. Our ground is uneven, and the cottage is built into a hillside with steps into the garden and cottage.
Hunter's Cottage is at the heart of our farm which is located about a mile up a private no-through-road. Our place is very quiet and full of wildlife and beautiful views across rolling hills and wooded valleys. Often the only thing you can hear is the stream and the birds. We have no traffic noise at all and the dark starry skies can be amazing!
  • Lovely cottage just outside of Exmoor. Excellent location. Very easy to access Exmoor and local villages (Brampton, Dulverton) yet near to Tiverton and main routes back home. Excellent amenities, great local walks. Ideal place for a break. We would definitely stay again.

  • I highly recommend this cottage located in a venison farm. The cottage was super clean and spacious with quality furniture. Cookies and a nice bottle of wine were there for us upon our arrival. The communication with the host was also excellent ! We spent a very relaxing weekend near the fireplace, exactly what we were looking for :)

We only stayed one night and the weather was terrible so didn’t get to see much of the immediate area but the place is so comfortable that it would be a pleasure to stay again for longer next time. The wood burner is glorious, the bed is super comfy and the shower is great. What more could you need?!

  • This is an airbnb where the pictures don't fully do it justice - it's a lovely cottage, recently done up and very cosy. Ian was a great host and even gave us a lift to pick up our car from wedding venue. We found the location very relaxing and loved the feeling of being on an actual farm. Would definitely recommend.

  • We had a lovely short stay in this very peaceful spot. The cottage is well equipped with a super shower and very comfortable bed. It was great to come back from a walk and spend the evening chilled out in front of the woodburning stove. We appreciated the local info and had a great meal at Woods one evening. Definitely a place we hope to come back to! Thank you!

  • We stayed at the end of February and the cabin was warm and cosy despite a storm!! We even braved the outdoor bath. Lots of nice dog walks, would stay again!

  • A stylish yet rustic cabin that takes you back to nature, in a peaceful location with great hosts

  • Amazing place. Robert’s parents are so wonderful. They have been so kind and helpful. I definitely recommend this place 👍👍👍👍👍

    Macy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little getaway. Wood burning stove kept us super warm even in January, and was able to rustle up a number of meals on it! Loved the outdoor bathtub! Very hot and easy to fill up. Would definitely love to return!

    Harriet2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rob’s Mum Suzanne was the perfect host, she really went above and beyond. Such a lovely quiet place to stay, with beautiful scenery and a lovely pub nearby. We stayed in January when it was freezing cold outside and we kept lovely and warm!! Cooking on the wood burner was a great experience. All in all couldn’t have asked for a better weekend away!

    Euan2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I can not recommend Roberts hut enough! The perfect space if you want a secluded little break away from it all. The hot bath outside was brilliant, even on Boxing Day! A little place I won’t forget in a hurry

    Thomas2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at robs place. The weather was unfortunate but we stayed really warm inside the hut. Perfect place to relax and not worry about anything. Loved cooking on the wood burning stove and also really appreciated the gas ring for a quick cup of tea. Very peaceful and we saw a pheasant or two walk by! Rob is a great host and I would recommend highly for a real quiet break

    Melanie2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in Robert's cosy cabin - such a gem of a place, perfect to escape it all. We were here in winter and in case people are worried about the temperature - we found the cabin was really quick to warm up (and stay warm) by the fire. We spent evenings playing chess (in the cabin already) and cooking over the fire, and our highlight was the outside bath, a great base for a spot of pheasant spotting. A regular toilet in the adjacent shelter, too - we were expecting compost / a long drop so a nice surprise! Would definitely come back again - thanks, Robert!

Welcome to my cosy home in the delightful village of Bampton. Easily accessible from Tiverton Parkway station and Junction 27 of the M5, it is a great base from which to explore beautiful Exmoor and within easy reach of Exeter, Taunton and the north and south coasts of Devon. Bampton has a great pub, excellent restaurants, coffee shops and bakery. A great base for cyclists, walkers, guests visiting family or attending weddings. I live alone with my small dog and look forward to your visit!
The double room is extremely comfortable and although overlooking the village high street is very quiet at night. You are welcome to make coffee and tea in the kitchen and help yourself to bread from the bakery next door. If the weather is nice, the garden offers a great place for breakfast. There is a small bedroom with a sofabed which can be booked in addition to the double bedroom - This cannot be booked without booking the main room.
Bampton is a pretty small town or large village with a great bakery, butcher, greengrocer and a good choice of restaurants and pubs. It is easily accesible to Exmoor

  • We loved our stay at Combe Head cottage and hope to be back. It was everything as described, and more. Super peaceful, exactly what we were looking for on our two day stop over. Some essentials left for us for breakfast (eggs, bread, milk, tea, etc). Good access to Exmoor and all it has to offer and a local pub just down the road with good pub food. Jane and family were friendly and outgoing, while giving us plenty of space as if the cottage was our own.

We stayed in December and the cottage was so warm and beautifully equipped for us and our small French Bulldog . We were made to feel very at home during our stay . We walked to the Swan pub which was dog friendly and amazing food . This cottage has a beautiful wood burner and no end of wood to keep us warm . We didn’t want to leave !

Little Wood is 7 acres of secluded, tranquil deciduous woodland, set in a quiet valley near to the village of Stoodleigh in Mid Devon. Ideal for those wanting a secure place to wild-camp and get back to nature for few days, surrounded by green ferns, tall trees and big sky. Bring your own tent or use the many trees to rig up your basha and your hammock. Check out our other listing that includes the use of Tentsile Stingray 3 man tree-tent, pitched ready to go on your arrival.
We would recommend contacting us before you plan your stay and we will gladly talk through what's on site and how you can prepare for your wild-camp adventure. We do not live on site but if you prefer, we would stay on site long enough to make sure you're all good-to-go. Whilst on site, we'd gladly spend time to share our knowledge of the woods and the nature within. Here is a link to a PDF that will tell you more about the woodland. https://home.mycloud.com/action/share/df01bdc3-cbbf-4738-a75c-20e220e2adfb There is a long-drop outdoor covered toilet on site. You would also have access to the wooden shelter should the elements really take a turn for the worst or if you want to make your valuables more secure should you wish to go offsite to explore the surrounding area. (The wooden shelter is very basic, it will keep you dry, there are no beds).
  • A nature enthusiasts dream! This wild camping location is truly stunning. Perched up high on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, you feel like you are very much immersed in nature. I was lucky enough to see deer, tawny owls, buzzards, squirrels and numerous birds. There is a basic toilet and wooden shelter if the weather turns. I pitched my hammock among the trees and got woken up by the most amazing sunrise. If you want a 5 star hotel, this isn’t for you but if you want a unique location for wild camping and the chance to have some fantastic wildlife encounters...then book!!

  • We have just got home from a week in Oak view at Nibbs Farm. We had a really relaxing week and very much enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very spacious, clean, comfortable and has lots of special extras such as the hot tub, land to explore welcome scones, and the most fabulous view, especially at sunrise (which we saw and photographed every day as we took a toddler with us who was up at that time). The cottage is really well placed for exploring both North and South Devon, and we popped into Tiverton and the flying pickle for lunch which was recommended by Deishan and very nice! The beds were really comfy and all the bedding etc smelt really clean and fresh. Additionally, having a toddler with you means you spend a lot of time on the floor, it was really nice to see all the under furniture areas were really clean too, (which is often not the case) and we didn’t mind sitting in the floor with her because of this. Finally, being able to take a dog with us, and stay somewhere so nice, where there was no evidence dogs had ever been was great, again speaking time the cleanliness of the place. Deishan also answered all our questions both before and after arrival and was very helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay, would really recommend and would consider coming back and bringing family and using both cottages.

    Tom2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • My first experience of airbnb and it surpassed every expectation. We booked very last minute and were welcomed with opened arms in what were very difficult circumstances. The accommodation is set in a beautiful location and is immaculate inside. Deishan is a fantastic host, discreet and professional and the finishing touches are fabulous making the lodge feel like a home from home. The freshly made scones were greatly appreciated on our arrival. I would recommend the lodge without hesitation.

    Natacha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don’t do the property justice it’s so big inside. Spotlessly clean with scones and fresh eggs on arrival. We had enough kitchen equipment to cook a full Christmas dinner. We enjoyed the hot tub watching the deer, the beautiful sunrises. The WIFi was great and we also had Netflix, board games and DVDs. Lots of lovely little walks near by, dog friendly.

    Emma2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place to stay. The property is modern and stylish with everything you would need. There is lots of local information inside the property to help you explore the area and for local amenities. If you would prefer to stay in, the property is spacious yet cosy and some nice Christmas touches made it even more special. We were greeted with a cream tea which was very welcome after a 6 hour drive, as of course was the hot tub. Deishan was a perfect host and lovely to talk to. Finally you have to mention the views and the beautiful deer playing in the next field. We would certainly recommend Deishan and Nibbs Farm Cottages to everyone.

    Ross2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place, breathtaking views from the hot tub, beautifully clean and dog friendly

    Dawn2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely weekend at Oak View Cottage. The views are stunning, particularly from the hot tub which helpfully had a new roof to keep off any bad weather (although we were very lucky!). There are lots of little touches that make the stay just that bit more special - be it the afternoon tea awaiting our arrival, the fresh eggs or flowers. Deishan was also an excellent hostess and very communicative. We will definitely be back.

    Alexandra2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed staying at Nibbs Cottages. The views with the deer are such a special sight to see. The cottage itself is so clean and well maintained. Cream tea on arrival was amazing (the scones were still warm) and the hot tub is a luxurious extra which was welcomed after being out all day. Everything is well thought of inside right down to there being a slow cooker in the cupboard! We will definitely be returning next year to recharge our batteries!

This small two bedroomed cottage was built in 1800 when the Mill opposite was fully working. It is in a remote, quiet and secluded part of Mid Devon within an hour of both the North or South coasts of Devon. It is accessible down narrow single track country lanes. The nearest shops are in the town of Tiverton, five miles away.
What's included? Basically just bring yourselves, and food and drink. The beds are made ready for you with cotton linen, towels & tea-towels provided. We provide washing up liquid, liquid soap and shower gel and the first few toilet rolls. Also is provided a basket of logs (and kindling, paper, matches) for the woodburner. The kitchen is well equipped. The second bedroom can be made up as two singles or as a king size double, just let us know which you prefer. We live nearby so if you need anything else please ask.
Templeton Bridge is a small hamlet, in the heart of the unspoilt, rolling and partly wooded countryside of mid Devon. The River Dart runs past the garden, its source is about a mile up the valley and it ends up entering the River Exe at nearby Bickleigh Mill. At night we have regular visits of otters to the river and wildlife ponds opposite the cottage. Also deer and buzzards are frequent visitors. There are no shops or pubs within walking distance of Mill Cottage, however to the east, within easy reach by car (five miles away), is the town of Tiverton which possesses a full selection of local amenities, including superstores, shops and restaurants, hospital and leisure centre. From Tiverton there is quick access, via the A361 (North Devon link road) to junction 27 of the M5 motorway, beside which is Tiverton Parkway Railway station with regular mainline connections to London (Paddington) and the North of England. About 2 miles to the north of Templeton Bridge there is access onto the A361 (North Devon link road), leading to Barnstaple and the spectacular North Devon Coast with its sandy beaches. To the south is the university and cathedral city of Exeter. To the north and south, are the National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor with their beautiful scenery and many opportunities for walking, riding and fishing.
  • What a hidden gem! The pictures don’t do this gorgeous cottage justice. It was such a lovely surprise. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed as well as some treats! Bed was incredibly comfortable and the living room very cosy. Finding the cottage was easy, I would suggest using google maps and then switching to the air bnb map once you’re close enough. As google maps will stop you just around the corner. As mentioned the WiFi is not the strongest, however we came to get away for the weekend so that didn’t bother us at all. There’s a DVD player in the living room and we brought some movies with us. It was a perfect place for us to get cosy over the weekend in front of the fire. The nearest pubs are an hours walk and an 10-15 minute drive. However we were very content just locking ourselves in for both evenings. Roger and Bindy have been fantastic hosts, they message back quickly and were on hand to help us with whatever we needed. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back
