  • Very romantic place, has everything you need if you look for a place to rest and read a good book! Melanie is wonderful and easy to communicate with!

    Kim2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie's home was all we needed for a weekend getaway. Cosy and comfortable ....we felt at ease almost immediately. Melanie was always approachable and helpful!! Quality time with friends....oh sure we did have!!

  • This was our perfect stay in a wonderful home, in a lovely little town. Walkable, gentle area, best butter tarts in the land, fun shops, and a great host. I loved the kitchen!

    Stefanie2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice stay with Melanie. She is very helpful. Thank you for everything!

    Letícia2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We have already started reccomending this place. So clean and great for the price. We will be back next year. Thank you Melonie. We will miss Rainie.

    Lisa2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie's place is a lovely, tranquil cottage in the middle of a small town. The house itself is a beautifully renovated and decorated century home. Much of the character and historical details have been restored rather than removed and we found it quite interesting to see the old kitchen hearth complete with the iron hook for the pots to hang over the fire. It is set in a nice town lot surrounded by a english-cottage style perennial garden, only a short walk to the grocery store. Melanie herself is a very gracious host that made us feel welcome and went out of her way to make our kids feel important. It is not easy to travel with 4 young children, but staying here made the trip go smoothly. The only thing to keep in mind is that the stairs are a bit steeper than they would be in a modern house and all bedrooms are on the second storey.

    Vanessa2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a unique and lovely house. We love the privacy and comfort provided by the host.

  • We had a fantastic time weekend at Oak Lake cottage. Beverly and Brad were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We loved the awesomely large Bodum for morning coffee, paddle boarding and canoeing (the water is so clear!) and relaxing by the fire pit in the evenings. We are definitely going to visit again soon!

  • We had a lovely stay at this cottage on Oak Lake. The cottage had everything we needed. Beverly and Brad were lovely hosts, they were welcoming and made sure we had everything we required.

    Adèle2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Bev and Brad were great hosts. They responded very quickly with any inquiries that we had. The listing description was very accurate, they went above and beyond all expectations. The cottage was extremely clean and very homey. The check-in was extremely easy and all information was provided upon our arrival. The cottage surroundings were beautiful and the neighbours were extremely friendly. We had a great time.

    Jennifer2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage met all our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, very quiet. Bev and Brad are great hosts, very charming and hospitable, and did everything to make us feel welcome. This is a great place to spend time outside, with kayaks, canoes and paddle boards available to take out on the lake. The water side fire pit and dock were great for afternoon snacks and beverages. The views from the upper deck of the cottage are fantastic. This cottage is ideally located close to a variety of nature trails, fishing spots and day tripping venues (Empire cheese curds near Campbellford being one of our favourites!!!) We definitely look forward to returning in the future.

  • Just finished a wonderful vacation with the family at the cottage. Kayaking and canoeing every morning on the lake and having marshmallows every evening around the fire pit. Beautiful view of the lake. The girls didn’t want to leave.

    Ophir2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I meet yearly for a cottage getaway weekend (us from Ottawa and the others from the Toronto area) and Oak Lake was the perfect middle ground. Bev and Brad were wonderful hosts - very kind and accommodating. The cottage was clean and had great access to the cute lake. Access to the canoe, kayak, and paddleboard was awesome!

Unfortunately we just spent one night at David's cottage. But at least we've had a wonderfully peaceful breakfast on his terrace enjoying the great view onto the calm Oak Lake. Thank you, David!

  • We had a great stay, we were on Oak Lake to go to a friends barn party so it was perfect, nice and close, room for all of us and can make our meals!! Dave's place is great, kids loved watching the ducks in the morning. Had everthing we needed, clean, easy to find and Dave was great for being able to get us the key! Like others never met Dave but know need as he left a note and everything was easy to use/find. would recommend a stay there and hope to get back again next summer!

    Linda2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely LOVED staying at David's cottage!! It is amazing! Right on the lake, gorgeous sunsets, peaceful quiet evenings around the fire, all the comforts of home! Due to a conflict in our schedule, we made a last minute reservation with David, and he so graciously accommodated us. He had just a few hours to clean and prepare the cottage, and everything was great. We will definitely stay there again! What a wonderful place to rest and unwind from the stress of life! Thanks, David, for allowing our family to enjoy your cottage for a much-needed vacation!

    Marilyn2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed David's place for a short stay. It was rustic and quiet!

    Adrienne2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to spend a weekend in a beautiful and serene area. David's cottage was just what my family needed, the area was quiet and most of the things we required was within a ten-minute drive if not less. The cottage was clean and it came equipped with everything we needed for the weekend. We will be back again!

  • This property is incredible -- we were seriously considering becoming squatters ;) -- and unique; a true log cabin that is quintessentially Canadian. The cabin itself is located in a picturesque forest setting, with a small lake nearby, perfect for walks. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated in a mix of antiques and comfortable furniture, with carefully integrated modern amenities. The bedrooms and living room are very spacious and airy, the kitchen/dining room is cozy with it's own fireplace and well-stocked with everything needed. Overall it is perfect for a group that is looking to cook, take in some nature and really relax. Jamie and Christopher were great hosts, accessible by phone to answer questions, and even left us a lovely bottle of local wine.

    Pratha2017-01-02T00:00:00Z

An outhouse and outdoor shower, large fire pit, netted gazebo and hammock are within steps of the cabin.

Don't be fooled by the size - it is super comfortable, Lisa has thought of everything one might need, and the outdoor area is private and welcoming. • Clean open style cottage. Very cozy TV area. Lots of "extras" to help us have a comfortable stay such as board games, cards, books, satellite TV, fruit and orange juice. Beds were comfortable. Quiet area in a well treed property. Lots of shade keeps the cottage cool. Short 45 second walk to the dock to enjoy fishing. Lots of room to pull up a chair to enjoy the view of the water and nature. The hosts were friendly, helpful and available. Hoping for a longer stay next time!

  • Another great visit at Yellow Finch Cottage!! We were there in June as well and liked it so much went back for almost a week in August. Marilyn and Bob are such nice people. Great experience :)

  • We had an amazing stay at Marilyn and Bob's cottage. Marilyn thought of everything and was a very gracious host. Will definitely be by again!

    Melissa2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn and Bob were wonderful host, the cottage was everything and more that we would of needed for our mini vacation. They greeted us at a flexible time for our check in and we had a fridge filled with fresh orange juice, muffins, bagels and much more. They were very gracious and in spite of our yappy dogs. Bob was very attentive making sure that we were warm during the nights even if the fire place was not working he brought us in a heater, thankfully it was not really needed as we had plenty of blankets. We can not say enough good things about our stay, we had a great time and our dogs could not have been happier. Highly recommend this cottage.

    Felipe2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is very nice a cozy - couldn’t ask for anything more. The property and water was very calm and beautiful. Marilyn is a great host and kept the cottage well stocked with snacks, breakfast foods, coffee and water - there were even board games and books supplied in case you needed something to do. Anything we could possibly need during or stay was provided, just brought some clothes and food to grill on the BBQ. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the view and outdoors, some area to throw a frisbee and of course a deck with a BBQ for grilling.

    Trevor2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spot on the river. Kids loved the dogs and their loft bedroom.

Secluded off grid cabin. Not remote but a very quiet and peaceful location beside the stream on our small hobby farm. Cabin is surrounded by woods and the good sized screened in porch overlooks the stream. Built in a 2016, the cabin was designed and decorated to reflect an earlier era. Suitable for one or two people, there is ample room to relax. No washroom, but a new, clean outhouse and if showering is desired, can be arranged in the house.
  • Our time at this lovely, charming little cabin far exceeded our expectations. As you approach the cabin you see and hear the ripples from the beautiful stream and it will instantly relax you. Walking into the cabin we felt as though we had stepped back in time. We fell in love with all of the beautiful antiques and were pleasantly surprised with the delicious home baked treats. We spent hours relaxing by the stream and especially adored the screened in porch (overlooking the stream) that was lit with an oil lamp when darkness fell. There is a lovely fire pit and a ton of fire wood available to use, a picnic table and bbq. The cabin has bbq utensils, pots/pans, paper plates/cups/cutlery. The hosts provide water for drinking and there is a tiny cooler to use as well. We were looking for an off the grid experience that would allow us time to read, play board games and simply enjoy nature surrounding us and we found it! Hearing the horse and buggies go by was another additional treat. We have friends that have already booked and more people that are very intrigued about this experience. Thank you to the hosts. We look forward to coming again when it's a bit cooler and we can enjoy the indoor woodstove.

  • There's something magical about airbnb. Beyond affordability and easy access from Toronto, John and Beth's cabin on the stream truly felt like a home away from home. Decorated with Wes Anderson-like antique decor, flooded with natural sunlight, and the sound of birds chirping in the morning, this charming spot is the perfect getaway. Relax, turn off your phones, and choose this home away from home.

    Alex2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is the sweetest little cabin, situated on a picturesque farm, set beside a babbling brook. The birds are chirping (we saw a kingfisher), you can hear horse and buggies from the local Amish residents go clip clopping by, and the expanse of the starry sky is hypnotic. The bed is soft and comfy. The kerosene lamps give a soothing glow in the evening. The place is extremely clean, including the outhouse! Driving the rolling country roads in this part of Ontario is a beautiful blast! Within 30 minutes from the cabin, we enjoyed the local Church Key Brewery in Campbellford, swam at the Harold Quarry and did a hike and swim at the Vanderwater Conservation Area (Flat Rocks) on the Moira River. There are lots of country fairs in this area too. The hosts John and Beth were very welcoming. John returns emails quickly to answer questions. I was very thankful for the offer for an indoor shower one morning. We were sent home with a super delectable chocolate treat that Beth made. You will have good memories staying here!

    Lisa 2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cabin for one night and I wish we could have stayed longer but it was booked for the next day. The cabin was beautiful and every little detail was thought of. Everything in this cabin is a hand picked antique. There is some really cool stuff! The outhouse is the cleanest I've ever seen and didnt smell at all! We spent the whole time sitting on the screened in porch listening to the sound of the creek and the occasional horse-drawn carriage going by. So relaxing and our dog loved it too! The cabin is tucked in the woods and very private which was also really nice! John and Beth were amazing hosts that made us feel very welcome. They even had home made cookies for us when we arrived and brought us fresh doughnuts from the market in the morning. I would love to come back again before the end of summer!

    Alicia2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing weekend! John and Beth were great hosts. The cottage is lovely- the screened porch with the bubbling brook next to it is so relaxing. Will definitely be returning!

    Sarah2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • John and Beth were amazing hosts. They made sure everything was nicely setup for us when we arrived. The attention to detail in how the cabin was decorated was very cool. They really went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The back porch was a relaxing place to hang out and we really enjoyed the fire pit. The coffee and muffins in the morning were a nice touch! I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a break from the city. I'm sure we'll visit again.

    Andrew2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at John's place for one night. As other reviewers had said, it’s a beautifully decorated cute little cabin. We didn't get to meet Beth but she was sweet enough to leave some homemade candies for us when we arrived. Everything is as described. The cabin has some disposable dishes, water, bbq utensils you can use, and even dish soap and basic spices. Great escape to the city.

    Marcela2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy wooden cabin both in the woods/by the river and on farm lands, which provides you beautiful surroundings and quiet nights! The cabin was very cozy and more spacious than expected, and the bed was very comfy. Great spot to explore nearby PEC and Presqu'ile Provincial Park, and have a break from the busy life in the city! We also could bring our dog which was a big plus, value was very good, and John/Beth were a very welcoming and friendly couple :) we would return any time!

Close to restaurants, golf course, wineries, theater, beaches, bicycling, boating and a new casino. You’ll love my place because of the serene sound of the birds, garden fountains, waterfall, the million dollar view and exquisite landscaping. You will feel like you are at a retreat.. My place is good for couples, singles and business travelers.
Few places can match the serenity and natural beauty of our place. You can watch luxury boats go by the backyard on their way up to Georgian Bay or just listen to the sound of the waterfall and fountains and enjoy our beautiful gardens. We feed the birds so we attract a nice assortment for birdwatching.
All of this within 25-40 minutes of the wineries and beaches of Prince Edward County We are 15 minutes from the cities of Belleville and Trenton, 60 minutes to Kingston and 5 minutes from a golf course. We also have waterfront docking for a boat, jet ski, kayak, canoe etc. In addition to the above, there are a many, many wonderful places of interest that I will highlight below: MUSIC AND THEATRE There are also two fine live performance theatres within 20 minutes. One is the Stirling Festival Theatre. (URL HIDDEN) and the other is the Empire Theatre. (URL HIDDEN) PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY JAZZ FESTIVAL : August 15th to the 20th EMPIRE THEATRE ROCKFEST: July 21st, to the 24th. • We stayed with Sandra and Glenn for three nights and wish you had stayed longer. Their house has a beautifully scenic setting on the Trent-Severn waterway with views up and down the river, just wonderful. Sandra provided a printed tour to use around Prince Edward County of wineries and restaurants which was very helpful and Glenn took excellent care us while there. Kitty, Annie and Mickey were lovely friends. We would definitely recommend this tranquil oasis.

You can see for miles at the back of this home . I really recommend a stay in this home . Thank you Sandra for a wonderful weekend . Nancy and Peter

Our very modern home is located in a quiet subdivision with nice big fields in the backyard, perfect for the kids! The private backyard has a nice patio-bar around the pool along with a BBQ and fire pit! 10min from the highway, 45min from Sandbanks! Perfect for a single person or a couple! View my other listings if different needs in # of guests. Please read the whole description!! All of our guests have their own full bathroom.
Our modern house is the last in the street and is situated in a "cul de sac" with only one neighbor which cannot be seen because of the patio so it's very private! The pool is surrounded by a nice patio-bar and a BBQ. There is beersbee lawn game, a fire pit and a lot of space in the fields for the kids to play! As you walk in the house, you will be in the common area which is a big open room including the living room, the kitchen and the dining room which is also the home to a beautiful vivarium with frogs, geckos and fishes along with our small parrot named Isa who is a very lovely, socialized and quiet. There is also Deejay our well behaved and very affectionate Chihuahua that likes to hangout with people :) On the same floor, there is also the master bedroom, the first private guest room and a full bathroom with washer/dryer. The second private guest room is in the basement along with the rec room and a full bathroom. We are bikers friendly.
We live in a subdivision so its quite quiet and peaceful here! There is a nice splash pads for kids nearby and the tourist park has a nice little beach with a playground.
  • This was a last minute booking for myself and my dog, Bella. It was an overnight stop before we made our way to the County the next day. Communication was great with P-A and Ash met me at the door when I arrived. Thanks guys!

  • A scenic and historical drive to a small town, Frankford. The house is located in a quiet and relatively new subdivision with one nearby park for dog walking or for busy children needing exercise. Above ground pool beside the bbq and outdoor eating area. Some repairs needed (shower dial and pool pump). Hosts are sociable and hard working Canadians. Support our military!

Stay for a night, week, or month and enjoy country living. Your hosts are friendly even their pets are sociable. Shared entrance, kitchen, WiFi internet.
Our home is a century farmhouse with many upgrades. Lovely grounds to walk or just sit and relax.
  • Wow, what can I say! Colleen and Mike (and all their wonderful animals) were such warm and welcoming hosts. They were so friendly and down to earth and happy to help us out with whatever we needed. Wonderful country house, beautiful and big bedroom. Also a fabulous big barn that is perfect for a gorgeous wedding venue!

    Anne2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • It could not have been a better welcome from Colleen and Mike from the very first contact to my arrival. The room was exactly as described. The bed was beautifully made up and extremely comfortable. Small touches like a vase of flowers and interesting magazines completed the welcome. Even the dogs were welcoming!

    Jacqueline2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen and her husband were very welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend their place!

  • My room, the home, and the distance to Belleville were everything I expected. Colleen, Mike, Matthew and Rochelle were great hosts and made me feel welcomed immediately. I spent 4 weeks with the family when I started a new job in Belleville and needed temporary accommodation while looking for a permanent one. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. I even needed a ride to and from Belleville for work when I had car troubles and Colleen and Rochelle were happy to help. I truly loved my stay. Thank you to the Kerbys for making me happy at Kerbyhollow.

  • Very welcoming and helpful :)

    Hannah Louise2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen, Mike, Matt and Rochelle are the perfect hosts! Their country home is warm and inviting. Our private, charming room had everything we needed including a bar fridge. Lots of plugs and free wi-fi. The password is easily located in a picture table frame. Towels and an extra blanket are also provided. The bed was very comfortable for a restful sleep. In the morning you'll find self serve breakfast items left out for you but since Colleen was home she offered to make breakfast for us. We requested just coffee, toast and fruit but purchased some our their farm fresh eggs to take home. Delicious! They also have a long driveway which could accomodate several cars. Colleen and her family make her guests feel welcome and right at home from the moment you arrive! She is very accommodating to the needs of her guests. Early check-in was no problem and neither was the extra pillow we requested. The location is tranquil on acres of beautiful property. One thing needs mentioning is you must be okay with friendly dogs and cats. Two of each in house and also a few barn kittens scurrying about the property. Very cute and entertaining. If time, I recommend taking a leisurely tour about the property especially the barn they rent out for weddings. If you are looking for home away from home then look no further than Colleen and Mike's home, Kerbyhollow!

    Cheryl2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Colleen could not possibly be more welcoming. They are a delightful couple, even their dogs and cats give you a great welcome! They make you feel instantly at home and as much part of their daily life as you wish.

Cozy yurt in a private forest area. Walking distance to the cheese factory (ice cream, lunches, snacks), produce stands, and a park. Short drive to Madoc (groceries, beer/ LCBO, parks, beach, library, bakery, restaurants, etc). Perfect area for star gazing, long walks and bike rides. This yurt is in a camping setting, with no shower (stays over 3 days can use the house shower) or wifi but there is electricity, indoor camping stove, BBQ, mini fridge and clean drinking water.
The yurt is on the same 20 acre property as our house, but it is in its own secluded area in the forest. For guest stays over 3 days, you are welcome to come up and use the house shower/ bath. The yurt is all setup to cook meals both inside and out with all dishes and utensils provided . We have provided an indoor stovetop for the interior and a small propane bbq for the outside. The outside area of the yurt is in a secluded spot and includes a seating area, chairs, a fire pit and the game "cornhole". We encourage guests to pickup some firewood for the interior wood stove during the cooler months to heat the yurt. There are many places locally that sell big bags of spilt wood for $5. We do charge an extra fee for additional guests to cover supply costs and cleaning, but this is only applicable to additional adult guests. Families are welcome with no extra person fees. If you are looking to relax and take in nature then this is the place for you.
We live in an active farming community that has a large Mennonite and Amish population. Down every road you can find a produce stand, farm fresh eggs and other awesome organic goods. There are always tons of events happening in the small towns surrounding us and multiple farmer's markets every weekend.
  • We had high expectations based on other reviews and we weren't disappointed. The yurt is extremely comfortable and ideally located for when you want to escape the city - its close enough to Belleville for things you forget (or to visit the Signal brewery) yet its quiet and peaceful and great for kicking back. Highly recommended and we're already looking to plan our next trip!

    Andy2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly magical! It feels like you've entered your own little oasis in the woods. So cozy you have to experience it for yourself. Can't recommend highly enough.

  • Beautiful yurt and quiet place. But don't forget product against mosquitos. Because of that we couldn't enjoy outside.

    Kristell2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a one of kind experience this is the ideal location, especially if you have never stayed in a yurt before. Everything was lovely, welcoming and handy. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals including coffee bodum and coffee/tea. The living room space in front of the woodstove is so relaxing & the little table (complete with lovely candle holders) is perfect for romantic dinner. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the information package left by the hosts was very helpful. The outside space is equally inviting. There is bonfire pit, bbq & the outdoor seating area is idyllic. A beautiful yurt in the forest! Thank you, we will be back again!

  • #burttheyurt is a hidden treasure. Begin your adventure with a very short walk down a trail. Winding your way to a beautiful clearing where the yurt is situated. Hidden among cedars & other trees fire pit, seating and outdoor game are all part of the initial scene. Upon opening the door to the yurt....we were thrilled with the quaintness and quiet that surrounded us. All the amenities you could need. A comfy bed, quiet setting. We relaxed and enjoyed. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to recharge their batteries. I slept like a baby all weekend!

    Debbi2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful couple days at the yurt! Even though we were there during two of the hottest days we were comfortable and enjoyed ourselves. The yurt has many comforts of home and the overall vibe is very relaxing. We plan on coming back again soon! :)

    Courtney2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • What else can we say about Alysia's beautiful eco-Yurt, other than it's absolutely amazing? We arrived after a three-hour drive to find a cute, short trail leading to an off-the-grid Yurt with everything you could need to enjoy your time in the wilderness. The bed is as comfy as can be, the kitchen is great for making your own meals, and the outdoor space was perfect for grilling on the BBQ and enjoying a cool breeze at night. We brought an extra fan with us, as it was quite warm during the day, but at night, the sliding doors make it effortless to let in a nice, cool breeze. Close to PEC, Quinte, and Belleville, we would definitely recommend Alysia's Yurt if you're looking for a quiet, off-the-grid experience without leaving the lap of luxury!

You will be staying in the main Mill (Gristing mill) next to the Cider Mill. There are multiple buildings however you will only have exclusivity to one.
Take yourself back to 1867, the birth of Canada as a country. You’re standing on a small bridge overlooking a powerful cascade of water over a dam. This cascade is generating power that drives the water wheel turbines in the grist mill to the right and the sawmill to the left. Behind is a large mill pond, where swimming, summer boating, waterside picnics, winter hockey, and skating take place. All these features form Stockdale Mill, the social hub of a small thriving community near Trenton in eastern Ontario. All in all, a unique countryside treasure filled with an historic past. Today, standing on that same bridge, you admire the view of the waterfall and the rustic Stockdale Mill grist and cider mills. These structures have been inoperative only 40 years. However, situated on nearly two acres of alluring natural habitat, they are all still a scenic piece of history that artists have been recreating for decades. Inside, the changes have been dramatic. The interior and exterior are an inviting four-level, open-concept heritage set of mills. The cozy ambiance features a mixture of new pine, old barn board and sturdy support beams. Antique fixtures, pictures and furniture abound. And pieces of the old mill, including the two original stone millstones, recall its past. Just as enticing is the breath-taking view of the surging waters outside from the windows on the first, second and third levels. A fourth level leads to a loft.
Wineries, Orchards, farmers markets, beaches, fishing, swimming, antique shops, breweries, distilleries, Picton and the Drake Devonshire in Wellington.
  • The mill is unique and beautiful, very comfortable and well equipped, located in a calm and scenic environment. We loved the atmosphere, the art on the walls, the warmth of the wood, the view on the waterfall, our meals in the deck. We enjoyed the show of a beaver in the river, and the quiet presence of a heron. The kids had fun playing ping pong and fuss ball, and exploring the area. We highly recommend this place and would love to come back ! Jose and Erik have been very kind, welcoming and accommodating. Great hosts !

  • We had a fantastic stay at Jose's place. The place is beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. Jose greeted us when we arrived and was easily reachable when we had questions. We spent one day exploring the wineries which are only 30 min away and spent the next day enjoying the patio and cooking at the spacious and well stocked kitchen. Would love to come back again. It's a gem!

    Katerina2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jose's mill for our friends' wedding (bride and groom were with us!) and we were blown away at how amazing it was! Such a stunning and interesting place with so much character. We loved it!

    Jessica2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The mill is fantastic. Such an incredible view from the living room of the water. Wish we had been able to stay for longer. Highly recommended.

  • It is special experience to stay in the mill. Three of us had great time here and love it. Jose has came all the way from the city to Quine west to help us check in first night as we arrived late at night. Much appreciate about what Jose did for us! Highly recommend this place!

    Anita2017-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We wanted to show our family visiting from Australia what country life in Eastern Ontario is like, and Jose's mill was perfect. The location was perfect. We saw snapping turtles, deer, fish, and even some kind of water snake. The mill itself was gorgeous too, a beautiful and comfortable abode with a very rustic and eclectic charm, with modern comforts. My dream home! We'll be back for a visit.

    Bec2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay, the views were incredible. It's such a unique place!

    Peter2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Original, rustic, and decorated with boho style, the mill was an interesting stay. The kids loved the foosball table and we enjoyed the electronic keyboard. The kitchen had a good layout and was well stocked but needed a thorough cleaning and a dishwasher. We found some new favorites in the area - the quiet and beautiful Trans Canada Trail and the incredible butter tarts in Stirling.

  • Susan is a great host. We were able to arrange our check-in time so that she was there to greet us. Enjoyed a glass of wine on her patio, as we got to know each other. The room was as promised - a very comfortable king with a full ensuite. Breakfast was great and the weather cooperated, so we could again enjoy the patio in the morning. Many thanks Susan.

  • Susan was a very welcoming host, we were even welcome with a homemade glass of wine. She had a lot of great tips for restaurants and things to do. The room was very clean and we had a lovely breakfast at the terrace in the sun!

  • We had a great stay at Susan's. She was very nice and hospitable. When we arrived, we got tea and cake and in the morning she made us a delicious breakfast. She also helped us planning our trip to Kingston. We can highly recommend Susan's perfect retreat!

  • We felt most welcome in Susan's beautiful home. The spacious room and the entire house were exquisitely decorated with lovely accents and comfortable furniture. We particularly enjoyed Susan's warmth and hospitality. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. Everything was perfect from the welcome drink and chat, to the flexible schedule, as well as all the special attention we received. Information about the area, places to visit, restaurants, was readily available. As a bonus, Oreo, her discrete cool cat, would wander in and out without a care. Definitely a top of the line hostess and BnB! Thanks for everything Susan. Roxanne & Louis

The room was lovely and very comfortable, and Elizabeth provided a delicious continental breakfast in the morning. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

  • Liz was a fantastic and welcoming host. The room was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was fresh and clean. Her continental breakfast was perfect and very much appreciated before my busy day. Would stay here again.

  • Elizabeth is a very kind person. She is generous, helpfull .. I am very glad to have met her. The house has a good location and it's a very quiet neighborhood. The room is great and she offered me all amenities I needed. I had my privacy but I could enjoy the back patio and she offered me the possibility to cook my salads. The house is close to the highway and it's very easy to find it. It's only 30 min away from the island. She also gave me a lot of advices and maps for me to be more comfortable during my stay. She is interesting and she likes talking with you. I recommend to stay there and I will come back, of course. Thank you so much Elizabeth !!!!!

  • Elizabeth gave us clear, concise directions and greeted us warmly when we arrived. Her home was lovely and close to the wineries we wanted to visit over the weekend. The room was comfortable and clean and our days began with a simple but tasty breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

  • I spent a night with a friend at Elizabeth's and it was great. The house is warm and welcoming, impeccably clean, and Liz was a fantastic host. It is apparent there was some thought put into the setup, such as TV and WiFi code in-room, extra pillows, towels that matched the bathroom decor - everything is setup for a comfortable stay. I especially liked that there were maps and other tourist information right in the room, as I was heading to Sandbanks, and had no idea there are other interesting things to see in the vicinity. The location is also great because it's on a quiet street, but close to the highway, stores, and food. If I am back in the area I will definitely return!

    Julie2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was very friendly. She creates an atmosphere that is very cordial and relaxed. Her morning breakfast and tea was a delight with lots of food options! As my boyfriend and I were there to visit the wineries and sandbanks, Elizabeth provided us with plenty of maps and tourist guides to help us navigate. She also keeps her house very clean(URL HIDDEN)would highly recommend staying with Elizabeth.

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Wilma and would highly recommend that you stay with her if you're planning a trip to Prince Edward County. The entire space was spotless and beautifully decorated. Wilma offered us a variety of yummy self-serve breakfast options. Wilma's place is a close drive to antique shops, restaurants, breweries, and wineries and she provided us with maps and directions which made it easy to get around. After having a busy day, we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and getting cuddles from Wilma's adorable dog Lucca! A lovely and relaxing stay!

  • Wilma's place was wonderful. She was very friendly and had so much to offer. There was a lot of attention to details in the decor, the room set ups and instructions. The bed & pillows were very comfortable (even better than some of the nicer hotels I've stayed at). Her dogs were so well behaved and adorable! There is truly nothing to complain about and I look forward to our next trip to Belleville so we can stay with Wilma again.

    Jessica2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wilma's place was beautiful. The neighborhood feels very safe, and the place is so we'll taken care of and decorated. The backyard is very peaceful. There was a nice assortment of food for breakfast and snacks! My husband loved the pool table and the Keurig coffee machine as he is a coffee monster, haha. We had a lot of fun. This is more than just a room, it's a great place to hangout in.

    Sophie2017-07-16T00:00:00Z

I would describe my decor as European since I was born in Amsterdam. I enjoy decorative pieces that are different to make it warm and inviting. I love working on my garden to make it enjoyable with many rock gardens and a peaceful waterfront with beautiful sunsets. My gazebo is a beautiful place to relax and share conversations while enjoying the romantic candle lighting, the flowers and the view of the river gently flowing. It's very relaxing with the sounds of birds crickets and frogs

  • Quiet and comfy location. The cottage was very spacious and exactly like the pictures. The water was great with barely any boat traffic and we were able to relax on the dock everyday. Jeff was amazing and resolved any issues we had very quickly and answered all questions when needed. Canoe and kayak were such a plus and were used often. Highly recommend!!

  • This is the second time we stayed here and cannot complain about anything. We had an issue with the septic which backed up the downstairs toilet, but as soon as I contacted Jeff, he had a plumber on site the next day to fix the problem. Great place to stay if you are looking to get away and relax and the immediate attention Jeff gave for our issue allowed us to continue to relax and enjoy being with family. Will definitely be booking future weekend getaways here again.

  • Jeff was a great host. He was always quick to respond, and was very accommodating. He even arranged for us to arrive earlier and check out a little later. The cottage was nice, however could have been a little cleaner. Very quiet area and a good, relaxing time had by all.

  • We had an amazing week at the Blue Roof Cottage. Our hosts were great with answering all our questions before and after. Our young son loved the space, and yard. He was able to play along the shores of the river. They have a canoe, and kayak that the adults were able to use. Cottage itself was also equipped with everything you could ever need, and it was clean. It was a perfect home away from home! Thank you to Jeff and John :)

Perched in the Moira River, this 1930s converted grain storage building was part of an old stone grist mill. The 1000 sq. ft. wooden structure literally sits in the river on concrete pilings. It is just a few kilometers north of Belleville, Ontario.
The cabin consisting of three rooms: an open living room and kitchen combination and a bedroom that incorporates an open format bathroom will provide comfortable accommodation for two couples looking for a week or so of relaxed, laid back country life but very close to “civilization.” Amenities include the usual kitchen accouterments, a wood stove for cool evenings, wifi, a double bed, convertible couch, running water and a modest sound system. The bathroom has a composting toilet (don’t let that scare you, it’s easy to use and a whole lot nicer than an outhouse!).
My cottage is on a dead-end road and the Hamlet of Latta Mills is just far enough away from the actual City of Belleville to make it feel like you are in the country.
  • Gary was a great host. He met us when arrived and showed us around. We loved sitting outside overlooking the river. Its close to everything, but feels like being in the country.

    Janet2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in this lovely cottage . So nice to be right on the river next to the dam . Very relaxing . We only had 3 days and a wedding to go to , wished it was longer. A swim in the river was a lovely way to start the day. Very refreshing Gary was a great host , we met at his home and after showing us around he left us to it .He is very generous and interesting host With a great cd collection. We did have a small problem with the eco toilet , but all was sorted out very quickly by Gary . I recommend this place and would love to go again , maybe in the winter to check out the log burning stove next time.

    Charlotte2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing space! Gary was very nice and his river retreat couldn't be any cooler. We fished muskie, saw turtles and swam below the dam and enjoyed the unique view. Would definitely go back again.

We live in the middle of farmers fields. Very private!.....but a short drive to everywhere.
  • This is a hidden gem. Karen's home is so private in the middle of a large track of farm land, with a swimming pond feet away and a near by woods to walk in and yet only 5 minutes to Belleville and 30 minutes to Bloomfield in Prince Edward County. Karen responded very quickly to our questions and she and Kurt made us feel at home. Karen left a lovely surprise of milk, coffee, tea, fruit and baked goods to get our mornings started. Karen's home exceeded our expectations. We will be back!
