Completely restored 1892 guest room in the heart of Morrison's national historic district offers Victorian elegance with many modern conveniences. Amenities include a full kitchen, washer/dryer, luxurious queen bed, Roku Smart TV, and high speed wi-fi. The 800 sq ft apartment includes original Doug Fir flooring, 10 ft high ceilings, pocket doors, claw-foot tub, custom cabinets and cherry island. Perched above an art gallery, this is the perfect clean and quiet retreat for work or leisure.
At the turn of the century 112 E. Main was a gentleman’s suit shop. Much of the original cabinetry still exists in the building, including a large chest of drawers in the guest room. The cherry counter tops, coffee bar and island all come from wood milled just north of town and custom made for the space. The building is filled with character, truly an example of recent and historic craftsmanship. It should be noted that the guestroom is on the second floor of a commercial building, so the guest(s) will need to go up 21 steps for access.
Being located in the center of downtown Morrison, the H.A. Boyd guest room is within three blocks of many restaurants and drinking establishments. For activities, stroll around town and look at Morrison's historic residential and commercial architecture. Morrison is also great for bicyclists, being surrounded by hills and five minutes from Rockwood State Park. For a drive, the Mississippi and Rock Rivers are 10 minutes away.
  • Really awesome space. Super clean, lots of charm and character. Everything you need and super cozy.

  • Located only a few feet away from a chic place called "Da Bar" and two attorney's offices one can create and have solved many of life's problems of an evening. Other fine points of this flat include stylish and attractive furnishings, a great location, an extremely inviting decor and an instantly home-like feeling. The sight lines, smells, textures and furnishings make this a special place.

Communication with the super health was spot on along with all instructions and directions. The convenience and location of the Airbnb made it so that my husband could spend time with family and not have to worry about traveling. I would highly recommend this for anyone that needs to spend time in the area. He reported that it was very clean and Comfortable. Do you know men..... I couldn’t get a lot out of him. LOL! We will definitely be taking advantage of this Airbnb in the near future. Highly recommended!

  • When we saw this listing, even though it was a bit out of the way of where we were headed, we decided to book it anyway and we are SO GLAD we did! This is one of the nicest AirBnB's I have ever experienced - Kelly's place is absolutely GORGEOUS! I loved every single detail; she obviously took great care in designing the space, and takes great pride in maintaining it. The towels are soft and luxurious, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. Extra-special little touches were everywhere, from bottled water to makeup wipes. This was an absolutely perfect stay in a charming location, and I look forward to having a reason to go back there again, someday. Thank you, Kelly!

Pops River at Deja Vu is located along the Mighty Mississippi river, or as we call it - the east coast of Iowa. We are in a 3 story brick building that was built during the lumber boom of the late 1800's by Simon Shoecraft selling coal, wood and building materials. The first floor now houses Deja Vu Furniture and Accessories, a venture we started in 2009. The second and third floors were converted into apartments in the 80's, some of which we have converted into great spaces for you.
This unit is on the 3rd floor with access by enclosed stairway that is not handicapped accessible. We are a no smoking/vaping building. Not child friendly and no pets allowed. Kitchen with stove, refrigerator, micro wave, toaster, blender, coffee pot and some pots, pans and dishes.
We are situated in beautiful downtown Clinton with a great view of the Mississippi River from the dining room window. The downtown has retail shops, restaurants, parks, bike/walking trail, seasonal bike rental, showboat theater, outdoor swimming pool, pickle ball and baseball fields just to name a few. And if you like trains the Canadian Pacific main rail runs across the street along the river, ear plugs will be provided if needed. Quiet zone for railway crossing is in the works to be completed in the next couple of years.
  • Great place! Would definitely recommend if you are planning a stay in Clinton! Great host and very polite and helpful. This please had a great view of the Mississippi River. Location is great also not far from anything you will need!

  • Lou's place was fantastic - very clean, well located, and with a very easy check-in process. The pots/pans were a little limited for cooking, but we nonetheless were able to prepare some wonderful meals in the kitchen. One thing to note is that one of the bedrooms doesn't have windows. This was fine for us because it made for a quiet/dark place to sleep, but just something to note. Overall a great stay, and we'd definitely come back if we ever find ourselves in Clinton again.

  • Pastoral, perfect and peaceful—a great way to disconnect and be in the moment. The holidays were magical (here/there) and I can only imagine what it’s like in the spring and summer. I will definitely be back.

  • My family of 4 had a great time staying at Erin's house. Much more spaciousthan crowding in a hotel room. Erin had bottled water and snacks laid out for us...nice touch.

  • If you are looking for a cozy comfortable quiet getaway this cottage is the very definition Of relaxation. Although we utilize only one bedroom to sleep the upstairs had a meditation room that I thought was a very nice touch to Add onto the peacefulness you feel by staying in this home. The house has tons of character, and the owners are readily availableAnd prompt to answer questions. Thoughtful little touches all around the home for a nice little surprises as well. We found that by the end of the weekend the home had everything that we needed. I will definitely find myself passing through here again.

    Sandra2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of great things to say here. Big property, feels like you have privacy. The amenities are pretty great, my favorite is how well the house maintained a comfortable temperature. The host went above and beyond to provide a picture of their backyard fire spot before booking. Also very informative instructional/recommendation sheets. Highly recommended!

  • Quirky old house in Grand Detour. 10 minutes from shops and restaurants in Dixon. Lovely, quiet place to stay.

    Leigh2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED this place! It's a great get away spot for city dwellers. The house is spacious and clean with rooms to spread out and relax. I recommend the yoga room highly. We built camp fires, grilled, walked by the river (a block away), and almost fell asleep in the Jacuzzi bathtub. This is wonderful place to kick your feet up, turn off the phone, and reconnect with nature and the star filled sky. Thank you to Erin for being such a great hostess. We had everything we needed and more!

El Bulli Farm private and quiet one bedroom cottage on our 4 acre hobby farm. Separate from Main House. Located just outside Dixon city limits.
The cottage is connected to the pasture so you have views of the cows most of the time. It’s in the country but a mile plus a bit from town...we live on the property but respect our guests privacy as we go about our life on El Bulli Farm..!
We are less than a mile from “That Place on Palmyra” Restaurant and are close to many State Parks and the Rock River.
  • Beautiful farm; great stay.

  • Relaxing, quiet and enjoyable place, in a nice area. It's clean and comfortable. I liked seeing the chickens and the cows from the windows.

    Daniel2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay here at El Bulli including a toasty fire one cold evening. Only wish we could have had more time to enjoy the ambience (this is the first time I've considered a cow an "amenity"). Also recommend a couple of places in Dixon just 5 minutes away on W. 1st St.: Somkit (Thai food) and The Crystal Court (fantastic wine bar), which we enjoyed one evening followed by the Gingko Tree Cafe for breakfast the following morning.

  • If your like me you might never have used air bnb before and are a little nervous and not sure what to expect. Kelly makes everything so easy. She was so amazing getting back to me via the text chat before our trip out and when I asked for a specialized package she help guide me to figure out what I wanted. My husband and I had moved our wedding up so instead of coming here as an engaged couple we were exactly a week into our marriage. This was our mini honeymoon and Kelly made a thanksgiving trip to Camanche a cute little honeymoon! I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Wine, chocolate and flowers next to a roaring fireplace. Couldn’t ask for a more romantic stay. She is such a cute designer and the apartment has such an amazing rustic charm not to mention if you go around Christmas she goes all out with Christmas decorations. Such a beautiful tree. My husband had asked me a question so I thought I would add it encase you have the same question. Kelly provides you with towels, shampoo, soap. The same amenities you would in a hotel and more. Don’t worry about the little things. My husband and I both agreed that this little slice of country is going to be our number one place to stay when we are visiting family in Chamanche!

    Shelby2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • I needed a place to stay so that I could attend a funeral. Kelly was friendly and so supportive, and the room and adjoining rooms were spacious and tasteful. She did everything she could to make my stay pleasant. I would love to stay there again.

    Joan2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly put so much time and effort into creating a hospitable space for guests. I had a very clean room with a super comfy bed, and a bottle of sparkling cider waiting for me in the fridge. There is a lovely bar area and patio for guests to use. I wish I had stayed longer to really take advantage of the amenities available. Stay here!

    Vincenza2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly’s home is truly a traveler’s paradise. Located in the outskirts of Clinton, right off the golf course, sitting atop a hill overlooking the wonderful landscape, Kelly’s home offers one a peaceful oasis. The amenities are wonderful. The home is very clean. The communication with the host was terrific. Kelly was not only accommodating but she went above and beyond my needs. I felt like I knew her for years. I highly recommend that a traveler consider staying at this property!

    Aaron2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible home on the outskirts of Clinton...our hosts were gracious and thought of all our potential needs. Bedrooms were well-appointed with doors to the outside deck where you could enjoy being out in nature. The huge living area boasted a fireplace, big screen t.v., bar area with seating...coffee pot and more, sofa, loveseat, chairs. The 3rd level down had a pool table, hot tub, exercise equipment and access to the outside patio. They thought of almost everything. In the early morning hours my sister even watched a coyote stroll through the backyard of this six acre property. The only thing I can think they can improve on is the access to the back entry. It is down a steep hill with unsteady pavers. Plus, there are several steps between levels. Would definitely book again.

Built in 1907 along a beautiful stretch of the Rock River and surrounded by thousands of acres of State Forest, you will be in nature's paradise. Secluded, yet only 10 minutes from the quaint town of Oregon. Your stay at the cabin includes 60 acres of private land (+2000 state forest), river frontage, huge yard full of hammocks, firepit, BBQ area and a legit settler's cabin -rustic yet well appointed. 1-night stays are possible depending on calendar. Aug 30 - Sept 3 is priced for 4 people.
"Rustic Charm" is an understatement on both accounts. Native Americans lived here until the 1830's, enjoying its protected woodlands and excellent fishing. The land was deeded to an early settler in 1855, and the cabin was built in 1907. Although updated with electricity, hot water and a kitchen, it remains rustic. It may be a great place to escape the hustle and bustle but there's no escaping nature here. Well suited for hiking, boating, barbecuing, swinging in hammocks, campfires and porch sitting. There's one bedroom, loft, a large common area, kitchen and bathroom. The bedroom has a full bed, the livingroom has 2 queen beds including the sofa bed, 2 day beds and a loft with 4 additional mattresses. Several hammocks are set up outside as well. Large lawn under the oak trees is ideal for pitching tents if you have a large group. There are several tents and sleeping mats you're welcome to use stored under the window beds.
This is one of the most tranquil and remote locations you can imagine, bordering Lowden-Miller State Forest and a beautiful stretch of the Rock River. It's at the end of a windy road through the woods yet has electricity and pristine drinking water from an artesian well. Light traffic (Rt 2) can be heard across the river but it's muttled by the constant symphony of songbirds. A tallgrass prairie and wild bison preserve (Nachusa Grasslands) is 4 miles away and Oregon, Dixon and Franklin Grove are neat little historic towns with shopping, dining and a bit of nightlife. La Vigna is a sensational little Italian restaurant just down the road towards Oregon. Check out https://www.visitnorthwestillinois.com/ for a local events calendar.
  • What a beautiful place! Better than described. Private, serene, and lovely. I’d recommend this to anyone who appreciates nature and tranquility. Cabin had everything we needed and we were comfy and cozy on a chilly autumn evening.

  • Tim’s description of the cabin was accurate and it was perfect for our guys weekends. Great location and just a quick drive to some state parks for hiking. Loved the outdoor space with the fire pit and view of the river. My friends were even able to catch a bass and catfish fishing from the landing. We will be looking to rebook for a future weekend.

  • Authentic well equipped cabin experience with awesome river views and access. Rustic and wonderful!

  • We had such a amazing time at the cabin. Even though it rained the entire weekend. The cabin was so cozy and restful. Was just a great place to unplug and recharge. Thanks again Tim, well be back next year.

  • The goose island cabin was a truly unique & much needed experience. Lots of discoveries to be made inside and relaxing to do outside! Tim, thanks for the honey and sharing your garlic growing knowledge with me. Looking forward to visiting again!!!! Arachnophobes, this might not be your thing;) Nature lovers enjoy!

  • This place is very special, especially, I imagine, for city people like me. It’s a magical place where time almost stands still, where one remembers what breathing is supposed to feel like. For anyone who spent any part of their childhood in a cabin/cottage in the woods by a body of water, the sweet smells, sights, and sounds will conjure up intense feelings of nostalgia. And the host Tim Benedict is the most hospitable person you’re likely to meet (and an extraordinary raconteur and all-around great guy). Highly, highly recommended.

    Frank2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is really special and Tim is an exceptional host. We wanted a weekend for the kids to be outside and to relax. It was that and much more. We enjoyed the rustic nature and rich history of this cabin, plus used all the fun amenities in the river -- fishing rods, canoes, fire pits, and hammocks ect. There was not a dull moment and we were outside the entire weekend. Pure magic. Tim even went as far as to have his local honey waiting as an arrival gift AND he took us to a local Bison Preserve. My kids were in heaven and so were we. Thanks, Tim!

  • We are return guests at the M&M .... everything this weekend was just as we expected: PERFECT. You will love spending tine at Marsha’s farmhouse and relaxing in nature’s beauty. Her home is pretty and accommodations are spotless. Capped off with delicious breakfast and great hospitality.

    Mary2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful experience here. The house has been beautifully restored and the property is quiet and spacious with no neighbors in site. You are close enough to town for dinner and drinks if you need to venture out. There is a drive in movie theater 30 minutes away and it is awesome. The breakfast and coffee in the morning are excellent. The room was very comfortable/private feeling. Lots of light comes in through the stained glass windows and you have views out to the trees and corn fields. I'll definitely stay here again.

    Adam2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful place out in the country where you can relax, recharge, and hear yourself think. We would love to come back if our travels bring us through this area again!

  • Above and beyond in every way Amazing home, Marsha was so welcoming and personal. She let us bring our dog and we had the best time ever. She gave us recommendations that were amazing for say trips and cooked up delicious meals both mornings. We can't wait to go back in the winter. She shared a wonderfully delicious foraged mushroom with us in our breakfast and we were treated left and right. Beautiful room and we enjoyed the giant claw foot tub. Best get away ever

    Spencer2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you want peace and quiet in Northeastern IL nature, this is a good place to go. Marsha definitely made us welcome, as if we were old friends just catching up. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the unique-antique claw foot tub! Marsha's homemade breakfast always was a delicious start to our day. We recommended Marsha’s place to our friends and family.

  • Marsha is a wonderful host.... she has a wonderfully warm and inviting property. We immensely enjoyed our weekend spent at her family farm!

  • Sheer words cannot manage to express how exceptional of an experience my partner, Jeremy and I had at M&M Bed & Breakfast thanks to the genuine kindness of Marsha and the positive energy of this 4th generation farm. I anticipated a touch of nature and great breakfast, yet my partner and I received essential supplements of healing in our journey as individuals and as a couple. I can’t wait to return!

    ElementYES LLC2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at M & M Bed and Breakfast. Marsha was very welcoming and gracious. Upon request, she told the House history and gave a tour. Beautiful home, gardens and property. Room was perfect with period decor, 5-star mattress and pillows, robe and chocolates. What a treat to take a bubble bath in a vintage claw-foot tub. Well done in maintaining authenticity. Thank you for providing something different than a boring hotel room.

Cabin is located with a view of the peaceful Rock River. Very relaxing & cozy, perfect for a calm getaway. Minutes from Castle Rock State Park. Enjoy canoeing, fishing, & hiking trails. Reconnect with nature, enjoy board games, barbecuing, & outdoor activities. Enjoy exploring the quaint small towns, antiquing, & local restaurants. Go from city life to country, just “90” minutes from Chicago. Keep in mind, the cabin does not have WiFi. Tv channels are limited. This is a place to relax & unwind!
  • Leslie's cabin is the sort of place that's a pleasure to enjoy. We came out of a cold winter night into the most amazingly warm space, with all sorts of amenities and special touches to make us feel at home. Clean, well-appointed, with all the most important things anticipated before we opened the door. The cabin far enough away from everything (towns, traffic, neighbors) to give you space, yet close enough to various diversions (hiking, restaurants) in case you get tired of the quiet. Looking forward to visiting again in the future!

  • Adorable little cabin. Perfect for couples. Very relaxing and peaceful. Television and internet are a bit spotty. So many great little thoughtful extras. Snacks and beverages were left for us along with a lovely note and gift. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away.

We loved the overall aesthetic of the cabin, it wad super cozy. The location is beautiful with a bonus great view of the night sky. Leslie and Rose offered a lot of local tips on places to eat and experience while we stayed on Oregon. We are so grateful for our stay and can't wait to come back in the future!

This home is steps to the Mississippi River, park your boat on the beach. Room for an air mattress. Excellent fishing off the property. Breath taking views, a bit of Heaven. The bike trail is one-half block away plus Ice fishing in Spring Lake, Chestnut Mountain has a zip line, alpine slide, downhill . Boat launch 1 mile, restaurant is walk able distance. Golf 4 miles, Savanna 8 mi, Thomson 4 mi, Fulton 8 mi, Clinton IA 10 miles. Both interior and exterior multiple steps into the home.
The space is an open floor plan. It was once an earth home with a mowed roof. As a result, you feel like you are directly on the river just looking out the window. The entire front of the home is floor to ceiling glass (with blinds). You enter through the garage.
The neighborhood is very friendly. Ask any neighbor for directions or suggestions for dinner, fishing or otherwise. You will have privacy. The Mississippi Pool 13 is a wildlife refuge. It is easily located on map as the widest point shore to shore, 5 miles. Take a trip to a lock and dam to witness lock traffic and bird watch. The first weekend of January is Eagle watch weekend with lots of activities outside. Anytime the back waters freeze you will see Eagles from the home and as many as hundreds at the lock and dam. Of course, ice fishing is prime. There are local guide books in the home.

    Michele2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great view of the river from the living space of the home. We had an eagle perch in the big tree not 30 feet from us one morning, and spotted another feeding on river ice not far away. Super cold and windy during our stay (sub zero and 20 mph winds right off the river), but the house stayed warm. Would stay again.

  • Bill was fantastic. He gave us a great deal on photos (very unexpected), offered to build us fires outside for us (even when it was crazy cold), and to top it all off he brushed the snow off our vehicle before we got up and it had snowed the night prior. Great place, lots of fun! If it was closer we would look into buying the place.

Lil House On The Prairie (LHOTP) is aptly named because it’s located on the edge of Nachusa Grassland’s 1,000 acre south Bison pasture. The 100+ herd of free ranging Bison can often be viewed right along the boundary fence to the west! This recently remodeled two bedroom cottage can sleep six with two queen size beds and with a pull out sofa bed. LHOTP offers a quiet, convenient, and comfortable place to base your adventures from. Behaved dogs & responsible owners welcome!
LHOTP can best be described as a full featured country cottage. It features two bedrooms, an open common area with 10 ft ceilings that includes the kitchen with large island, a bath with shower (no tub), and over 2 acres of open area for a variety of outdoor recreational activities. The kitchen has a pantry closet with some basic supplies like waffle mix for the waffle maker, coffee and filters, coffee creamer, sugar, real maple syrup, salt, and pepper. Small appliances include waffle maker, coffee maker, toaster, hand mixer, crock pot, and micro wave. Larger appliances include smooth top electric range, dish washer, side by side refrigerator, and stacked apartment sized washer and dryer. The upper cupboards hold plates, bowls, glasses, and cups ... service for eight ... and more in island cabinets if needed (see photos). Also in the island cabinets is a complete set of cook ware (see photos). Silverware is in a drawer by the refrigerator, sharp knives next to that drawer, and cooking utensils are on the counter by the stove. The bathroom has a motion sensitive switch for the wall light by the shower and a humidistat to activate the exhaust fan. Towels and wash clothes are supplied along with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. A secretary just inside the entrance holds a variety of games, decks of cards, and visitor guides to the local area. The house features a wood burning stove that is not currently functional but our plan is to have it working soon.
Lil House On The Prairie (LHOTP) is located on the edge of Nachusa Grassland’s 1,000 acre south Bison pasture. The 100+ herd of free ranging Bison can often be viewed right along the boundary fence to the west! Nachusa Grasslands is a prairie restoration project sponsored by The Nature Conservancy. They now have invested in over 4000 acres in the immediate neighborhood and the restoration goals are to return it to its original condition in 1835 before the white man settled the area. they have constructed a visitors center less than a mile up the road that gives wonderful information about their vision and the bison herd. Bison, Whitetail deer, and turkeys are routinely seen just outside the door of this property ..... or through any window! Franklin Creek State Park is just 1 mile to the south, Lowden Miller State Forest is just 5 miles to the north, Lowden State Park (Chief Blackhawk statue) is less than 10 miles to the north, Castle rock State Park is on the other side of the rock River about 15 miles away, and White Pines State Park with an excellent restaurant is less than 20 miles to the northwest. The Lincoln Highway Association National Headquarters is located just 4 miles away across the street from our wonderful local cafe!
  • Earl was a great host to say the least! Everything we could have needed was provided, much more than the basics. The view was wonderful, especially when the bison where out! The evenings where great with a wonderful wood stove going. Could not have asked for more and we are looking forward to a return trip!

This vintage bungalow is bright and welcoming. Four bedrooms (great beds!), two baths, a spacious living area, and a fully-equipped kitchen provide a sense of home and comfort for your family and friends. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are supplied. The screened-in front porch is a pleasant space to relax, and the back yard fire pit invites everyone to gather for memorable evenings. Guests often see wildlife on the large, park-like property. Conveniently near town and many local recreational activities.
You’re sure to note both the pride Dixon takes in its history and its contemporary energy. The King family has had its own place in Dixon history ever since the house and farm were given to the owner’s grandparents as a wedding gift in 1915. And as a guest in the homestead, you’ll contribute to its ongoing vitality. We know you’ll enjoy your stay, and we hope you’ll want to return often.
The Rock River is the centerpiece of Dixon, the hub of its history and a major attraction for visitors. The city’s downtown district is within walking distance of the house and has the distinction of being listed on the National Historic Register because of its architecture. You can eat out, shop and, if your timing is right, enjoy one of several annual city festivals. The many options for outdoor recreation include boating, canoeing, kayaking, and water skiing on the river, or hiking, biking, horseback riding, and jogging on park trails. Lowell Park (200 acres) offers scenic drives, trails, a dedicated natural area and nature center, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and boat access. Meadows Park is a 567-acre open space along the Rock River that includes hiking trails and sports fields. Also worth your time and attention are three nearby state parks: Lowden State Park, Castle Rock State Park, and White Pines Forest State Park.

The house also had bug spray citronella candles and sunscreen we used and were able to spend a lot of time in the backyard as well!

  • We loved the privacy yet we were close to downtown. The house was more than enough room for 6 of us. We loved all the wildlife. We saw turkey and deer every day that we were there. • Mary’s place was cute and cozy for the perfect low key New Year’s Eve. The place itself was very clean, and we loved having the state park out back to play with our dog. We went to both local bars and the people were very friendly. We’d love to come back in the summer.

    Felicia2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s place is peaceful and the river is beautiful to look at.

  • Great place! The birds put in an amazing show in the enormous trees out the big front windows. I must have seen at least five cardinals and all sorts of other beautiful birds I couldn’t. Very serene.

Escape your busy life and unwind at Grandma's home of hospitality in the quiet and quaint historic town of Dixon, IL! Fishing and boat enthusiasts can take a short 3-block stroll to behold the breathtaking views of the Rock River dam and waterfront. Located only 0.8 miles away is our adorable downtown where you can explore quality retail shops, a charming bookstore, bakeries, a fine art gallery, wine shop, multiple fine dining restaurants and Heritage Crossing on the Riverfront.
Enjoy over 2,018 sq ft of living space with a very large screened in sitting porch. (it's a favorite place for everyone to hang out and visit when family is home) Lower level has large rooms with high ceilings and beautiful woodwork. Spacious and open which makes it perfect for hosting an event. Upstairs, two of the three bedrooms have had top to bottom make overs. (the 3rd will be finished soon) New carpet, paint, mattresses, bedding, linens, etcetera. It's a top priority of mine that my guests have bedrooms with beds so comfortable they don't want to get up in the morning! (I allow late check out for that very reason) The house has cable television with Netflix on lower level, smart television with Netflix and Amazon Prime in bedroom and I will be hooking up dvd players as well since there is a library of movies in the book case downstairs. A piano is in the home as well as games, cards, puzzles, videos and books. Grandmas house is homey, comfortable and peaceful. What makes Grandmas even more special is the location. Literally walking distance to everything. Ten minute walk south and your downtown at the riverfront where there are excellent restaurants and pubs or ten minute walk north and you're on the Lowell Parkway Path. The path is beautiful and you can walk all the way to Lowell Park or veer off and take another path down to the meadows and the river. Three to five miles of paths. Great for biking and hiking. Grandma's house is within three blocks of a grocery store, city park, pharmacy, dollar store, gas station and the YMCA. It's central to just about everything in town.
The house is located in a quiet, friendly, residential neighborhood within walking distance to downtown restaurants, bars as well as the riverfront. Within three blocks of a grocery store, drug store, city park and a short walk to Dixons bike and hiking path which leads to beautiful Lowell Park.
  • Great place to stay. Within walking distance to everything!

  • It is like your home but in another town. It is full of history, neat little touches, amenities you would not think of, and comfort in every room. Judi is a host of hosts and so easy to work with. You won't consider a hotel in Dixon ever again. Grandma's House!

    Krista2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Grandma’s House for 4 days. It was myself and 3 sisters. The house is well appointed and had everything we needed. Judith supplied us with some groceries which was very thoughtful. I also liked how close it was to downtown Dixon. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks Judith for the wonderful stay.

    Olivia2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Charming home and plenty of sleeping and living space. Beds were also very comfortable. We would book again if ever in Dixon!

    Vicki2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect house for family get togethers in the Dixon area. We had a wedding in Rock Falls but it was close enough to make the drive daily

    Joe2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely traditional home to gather and celebrate with family and friends. Judith is proactive in communicating and helping to prepare for a warm, comfortable welcome. We are repeat guests and will certainly return.

    Susan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I felt so at home at Grandma’s house... we wanted a comfortable stay for two families coming together from out of town. The pictures are exactly as the house is... beautifully appointed bedrooms, screened-in front porch, well-stocked linens, generous food staples, homey atmosphere! I could go on and on! We will definitely stay here again in the future!

  • Jim and Sue are quick with replies and make you feel very at home. Very comfy space that puts you right with nature. We enjoyed seeing Savanna and all its touches, including food reccomendations made by Jim. The view is amazing! We really enjoyed this home and plan to be back!

  • Cozy and comfortable home - perfect get away from the every day norm. Mother Nature hit us with 5 inches of snow followed by an ice storm but we still enjoyed our peaceful stay and were able to get out and see Savanna and meet some locals. Hope to visit again when it’s warmer. Wonderful host - felt right at home.

    Deb2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a nice place to stay! We were able to have coffee on the screened in porch in the morning, the bed was super comfortable and the house was so clean. It was only a few miles to wonderful hiking and a short drive to some great places to visit. My boyfriend had never stayed at an AirBNB before and he said this stay converted him from a hotel only person. Jim was an outstanding host who provided fantastic recommendations.

    Carmen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We originally wanted to stay in Galena, but this place is a hidden GEM and you couldn’t ask for a better host! He was responsive, helpful, and clearly takes very good care of the house. Before our arrival, he had lights and heat turned on so the second we walked in we felt welcomed. The house feels secluded, on top of a hill overlooking the river. Great place to stay for a nice relaxing weekend. Close to a beautiful biking/walking trail through the palisades, a few minute drive to the state park, and only about 40 mins to Galena. We were surprised how great the restaurants were downtown. We wished we could have stayed longer!

    Sara2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jim's place was a cute private little house. Since it was raining on our visit, the screened porch was a great asset. Very comfortable stay with everything you'll need. Easy check in and great communication.

    Ann2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jim’s home is lovely—clean, comfortable, and just what we needed for our weekend get-away. He’s thought through what travelers need, and made sure it’s all there for his guests. And a king-sized bed—what heaven in airbnb land! The view is lovely, the amenities well-considered. Thank you for your hospitality.

  • Scott and Angela are amazing hosts and their home is beautiful! They have always made sure that I am comfortable and that I have everything I need. Any question or need is taken care of very very quickly and they had recommendations for places to go and things to see. Their home is beautiful, comfortable and in such a great location! You can see the river from the back deck and I have enjoyed walking through the cute little downtown area along the river. You can't go wrong staying here! Scott and Angela thank you both so so very much!

  • Scott and Angela’s place was absolutely wonderful. Everything is feels brand new, fresh, and up to date. The bed was super comfortable and so were the pillows! The host left coffee and teas, as well as a few bottles of water to get me started with my week. That was a great touch that I appreciated. It snows 8 inches while I was there and Scott came over and shoveled the walk and driveway to make sure I could get out. Great WiFi! I would definitely recommend staying here and hope I have a chance to come back again!
