“Nine-Twentynine is known for their pour-over method and also has excellent drip coffee, lattes, and a variety of loose-leaf teas. They make several of their own seasonal syrups. Also have tasty pastries. Our family favorites are the nut butter balls and sausage muffins.”

“Best drinks in town... and also, the most expensive. Really fun vibe-- you walk into the alley, and down into the Guest Room, which is below Restaurant Tyler. Ask you server for specialty drink recommendations. If you are hungry, you can also order food or dessert from upstairs. If you go during the Christmas season, you are in for a special treat-- just be prepared for a long wait!”

Dive Bar

“Ok, so it's technically a bar, but this place makes really good food! The pizza is my favorite in town. If you go for dinner, ask who is playing later. You may decide to stay for the music. Fair warning for the squeamish: This place puts the dive in dive bar. It's loud, the service is iffy, and they keep the lights low to distract you from the decor but I LOVE IT!”

“This is my favorite restaurant in town— partially because I don’t eat beef, and at Bulldog Burger, I can sub a turkey patty for any burger on the menu. They also have a super veggie burger made in-house with 21 veggies! The chicken and salads are great too! And you should definitely consider a Nutella Milkshake or Shipley’s Donut Bread Pudding for dessert!”

“People watching on the patio. Upscale bar food for lunch and dinner. If the sun is shining this is probably where you want to enjoy Starkville. Turns into more of a college crowd after 10 pm. Late night food from 10pm - 2am Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Bin 612 is a 5 minute walk from CollegeView Cottage.”

“Harvey's really falls into the 'Starkville Standards' category, but my favorite is to go before 3 PM on a weekday and ask for one of Joan's margaritas. Famous for their broccoli bite appetizer.”

“The oldest restaurant in Starkville, established in 1945. A traditional Southern cafe with breakfast and a plate lunch daily, and dinner on Thursday through Sunday nights. It will be packed for breakfast on games days and the Sunday after. ”

“Stromboli's pizza redefined what good pizza is for me. The dining area is tiny, so call it in and walk over to grab it!”

“Known for their funky lattes and comedic street signs, Strange Brew has quite a following among students and visitors alike. They have a variety of pastries, including some keto options. I like the lattes; my kids like the Butterbeer and ‘’kids-temp hot chocolate.’ We all like the oatmeal cream pie cookies! ”
