Places to stay in South Thomaston
Small studio apartment attached to a main house in a small mid-coast Maine village. Kayaking, swimming, hiking and sight seeing nearby. Dog friendly with extra deposit.
  • Nice, comfy, pet friendly, affordable place. I would definitely stay again.

    Tyler2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay at Evelyn’s place was just as comfortable as was our first. It is exceptionally clean and cozy, and located in close proximity to a lovely nature preserve - very convenient for someone travelling with dogs. Will certainly stay here again if I happen to travel through this part of Maine.

  • Fabulous room. Evelyn went above and beyond.

    Ruth2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay -- just as advertised! There was some noise from the above floors and adjacent rooms, but the amenities and location were excellent. Would recommend and return!

    Carlina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our short stay in this apartment was lovey. Cute, immaculately clean, comfy bed, all at a very affordable price. Evelyn’s suggestions for things to do and places to eat were top notch, as well!

    Trevor2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Evelyn is a great host and we had a great time in the cozy room. The fresh fruit was a great touch and everything was very clean. A very nice place to stay for a night in the snow.

  • Quite simply: This is a wonderful find!

  • John's cabin in Owls Head looks small from the outside but has everything you could ever want on the inside. The cabin and property are warm and welcoming and John is a first-rate host. Not only is it a great place for relaxation and escape, but also a great home base for exploring Owls Head and much of mid-coast Maine.

    Thomas2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This a charming, well-appointed cabin on well-maintained grounds. It is close sites in the Rockland area. It has no WiFi and cell phone coverage is minimal, but that is no problem when a seeking a stress-free stay. I recommend this accommodation.

    Mary2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • John's home is a gem—it is thoughtfully designed and decorated, well-stocked for guests, and very clean. The heaters in the bedroom and living room took the edge off the chilly October evenings and worked great. We appreciated the small touches like loaner bikes, a menu for the general store, kayaks, and a fully stocked kitchen with essentials like olive oil, pans, utensils, milk, coffee, etc. The beach is just a short walk or bike ride away and is a great spot to watch the sunrise. If you plan to visit the restaurants, shops, or museums in Rockland, it is only a 10-minute drive. While there is no internet, Verizon phone reception was excellent and we were able to use it as a hotspot for some of the computer work we needed to do. Travelers should note that Google maps has the house location wrong—it thinks the address is a few houses down the road past the actual location. The house is visible from the road and the number displayed prominently on the home, however, so we had no trouble finding it after Google led us astray. I would highly recommend this Airbnb to travelers and would definitely stay here again.

  • This place was the best. More than we expected, tasteful, accommodating and relaxing.

    Rosario2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved John and Katie’s cottage at Owls Head. A beautiful setting and all the touches of home! Every amenity was present and generously offered! We will definitely be back! Very good value.

    Suzanne2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful spot! John was so helpful, and replied quickly to each and every one of our messages. We loved this spot, and enjoyed our honeymoon here so much! There was quite a lot of plane activity due to a small regional airport, but we came to be able to enjoy the sound of the small planes flying overhead!

    Alissa2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • John's home is a perfect retreat in a great location. It is a short drive to the activities of Rockland and Camden but far enough to feel very peaceful and relaxing. We loved the big yard for our toddler to explore. The house itself is beautifully decorated with interesting artworks and has everything you need to be comfortable, including a kitchen well-stocked with cooking accessories and a very comfy master bed. We loved being close to Birch Point Beach park. A great place to take kids for shell collecting!

    Laura2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • A quintessential cabin in the woods experience but with all the mod cons. Very stylish interior and exterior the build is a great example of a simple structure that works perfectly with its surroundings. Amazing views. Photos did a great job of showcasing the cabin, it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful surrounding area, and the town of Camden is well worth a visit, we had the best Thai meal we have had in America for sure. we traveled with two young boys & the cabin worked well for our family. We didn’t get chance to take out the kayaks but the hammock was put to good use.

Beautiful coastal cottage with spectacular views. Enjoy dramatic sunsets in a large yard overlooking islands. Close drive to Rockland, Camden and many other local attractions such as vineyards, museums and lighthouses. Spend your days kayaking the protected harbor, or relaxing with a good book in the Adirondack chairs. Ideal setting for outdoor cookouts and breakfast in the morning. Come enjoy everything Maine has to offer in this charming cottage! Small dogs OK - PUGS always welcome!
This is an amazing cottage with a large yard overlooking the Atlantic Ocean! The stunning views are constantly changing. While there are many places to explore on the Island and beyond, nothing yet has beaten the experience of sitting out by the rocks. A gas grill and lobster cooking set up is provided, along with a full propane tank. Large picnic table outside. Full kitchen with oven, sink and everything you'll need such as cookware, utensils and cooking oils/spices. Lobster kits too! Storage available in shed if needed. Parking for 2. cars on scene. ***Please note*** most of the Island is run off collected rain water and is the norm for cottages on the ocean as there is no way to drill a well. It's fine for showering as it's filtered and treated, but not suitable for drinking or cooking. You will need spring water. A couple gallons will be provided but it's recommended you make a Wal-Mart run to stock up. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are available. Your best entertainment is right outside the door, but sometimes you just want to put your feet up and watch a baseball game or a movie. The loft bedroom has 2 single beds and is ideal for kids as the ceiling is low. There is a secured ladder that leads up. There are railings to protect anyone up there and the beds are on the other side. Linens and Towels will be provided. The main bedroom and bathroom are insulated with baseboard heat. The kitchen, living/dining room do not have heat, but it has never been necessary during summer months. There is no kayak launch on the property but plenty of good spots on the island (1-2 min drives max.) I'll be happy to share them with you upon request.
A quiet neighborhood overlooking a working lobster harbor. It is not a party island. Many people on the island may enjoy themselves by a campfire at night, but it is not the place for loud parties into the night.
  • Our family had a wonderful experience at Rick's Cottage. The view is spectacular and there are many things in the area to see and do. We enjoyed exploring Rockland, checking out Birch Point Beach, Owl's Head State Park and of course dining at McLoon's. Also check out the Gnome lady by Waterman Beach, we brought one home as a memory from our great trip. We brought our 2 1/2 year old with us, so the loft area was not appropriate for her age (which we expected but share for other parent's benefits) and a blow up toddler bed worked great for her. Rick has offered many recommendations for a variety of interested, we highly recommend.

    Ashlee2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great rustic cabin with spectacular views of the near by islands and Penobscot Bay. Mcloons lobster shack is a couple hundred yards down the road and has everything you need for lunch or dinner. Great fast and courteous service with well prepared seafood. Get your Lobsta fix on!

    Alexander2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Rick's house. We spent as much time as we could relaxing and enjoying the view. He was very helpful and we had everything we needed for our stay.

    Melissa2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to relax by the ocean while watching the lobster boats and enjoy beautiful views STAY HERE! We just got back yesterday and I already want to return! This is by far the best vacation rental we have had. The house is perfect and comfortable. The views are outstanding and there is a world class lobster shack right around the corner. Also very easy to go to any of the surrounding towns. Rick has all of the local information in a book and it was really handy. He called to make sure all was well and suggested many places of interest and made suggestions based on our interests; I am a photographer and he went out of his way to make sure I knew where the most scenic places were. The house has everything you need - dishes, linens, extra blankets, books, nice shower and bathroom and a loft if you have guests. It is perfect for two people and the loft takes care of any (able-bodied) guests. The chairs overlooking the ocean were perfect - spent every morning and evening out there. I would have been happy to just stay there and not go anywhere for the week. We will definitely come back, thank you so much Rick for your personalized help!

    Cindy2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was an amazing host. Offered so many recommendations and history of the area. The views from the cottage are absolutely priceless. It exceeded all of our expectations! Thank you Rick for letting us and the dogs enjoy your special place. We had such a great time and came home very relaxed!

    Scott2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is terrific! It’s centrally located between Portland and Bar Harbor, so the drive to either is a couple of hours. Honestly, though, if you want to relax by the water within walking distance of a great place to get lobster, this property fits the bill. We will definitely come back and stay here!

    Frederick2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place is wonderful. The view can't be beat. Rick was very helpful and informative. We enjoyed our stay!

    Sara2019-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was adorable and sitting out on the lawn watching the lobster boats come and go was so peaceful. The moon rise over the bay was just incredible.

  • Beautiful space.

    Jonathan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The greatness of Airbnb is that it's possible to stay at such terrific apartments for less than a hotel and to also meet interesting and gracious people like Fred & Nud.

    Gary2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend Fred’s place as it is close to all the local attractions, easy to find, and yet nicely secluded for a peaceful stay. Fred was an amazing host with tons of knowledge and really amazing hospitality that you just don’t find anywhere. Everything was sparkling clean and beautiful, will definitely be back for another stay!

    Matt2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fred & Nud are such warm and wonderful hosts of a beautiful space, which is even more amazing than the photos. We instantly felt right at home, but also enjoyed luxuries (i.e. all of the beautiful stonework, the amazing walk-in shower) you couldn't normally find at a hotel. We would love to come back again and highly recommend The Granite Chateau to anyone who has a chance to visit.

    Hadley2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • There are many reasons to stay here. The location is prime, close to the beach and down town. The place has a modern Hobbit hole vibe, very beautiful and unique. Fred is also an amazing host, he's very welcoming and offers really great suggestions on things to do or places to eat. He's also one of the kindest people I've met.

    Caroline2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you are staying in the Rockland area, you MUST stay at the Granite Chateau! Fred's gorgeous home in Owl's Head is a work of art, and Fred and Nud are the warmest and most accommodating hosts you will ever meet. If you are there in the winter months, even your feet will be toasty from the radiant heating under the floor! We can't recommend this sanctuary enough and look forward to our next visit.

    Katherine2020-02-15T00:00:00Z

    Aaron2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect home away from home. We needed a comforting place with my mother critically I'll at Pen Bay and Evelyn's place was warm, charming and felt like home. We would have stayed longer if it had been available and will definitely return as we stay frequently when we visit family in the area. Thank You Evelyn!

  • This place is perfect. Very stylish. Right on the water. Very private, peaceful and secluded. Carlos and Karen are all star hosts who were so responsive. There was a snowstorm while we were there and they came and shoveled for us. There are very clear check in and check out instructions. They have multiple recommendations, games, books, dvds and WiFi. There was no cable, which was fine and what we wanted. I can not recommend enough.

    Kerry2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent several days at Evolve's place in South Thomaston over the Christmas holiday. We arrived after dark but the light was on, there was fire in the wood pellet stove casting a warm welcoming glow, a plate of sweet treats on the kitchen table, and tasteful holiday decorations throughout the house. The house was sparkling clean and although we did not meet our hosts, they were responsive and easy to communicate with. The house was an easy commute to friends and relatives who live in mid-coast Maine as well as a quiet, restful retreat from all of the holiday festivities.

    Eunice2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The cottage is cosy and had all the necessities you could ask for in case you were to get snowed in. Carlos was a perfect host and was very easy to get in touch with and also checked in regularly to ensure we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again!

    Raphael2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We could not ask for anything more ! Perfect location, beautiful weather for Foliage. Everything is provided (more than we need) . Great people!!!

    Ting2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • I kinda don't want to publicize how AMAZING this little place is, because I'd like to keep it to ourselves, BUT-Wow! just WOW! Great hosts, super clean, great kitchen, and comfortable beds. View was superb! Love, love, love.

    Natalie2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough good things about our stay! My boyfriend and I wanted to take a short vacation to relax and forget humanity exists for a bit. We only stayed from Thursday to Saturday, but we wanted a place on the water, isolated, and that had wifi (didn't want to totally unplug from civilization). I spoke with Carlos in preparation for our stay and he was phenomenal. Very quick with responses, made sure the heat was on when we arrived, showed us around the home, and let us check in much earlier since we were driving up from NJ. This home has the most amazing windows and view! They received about a foot of snow a few days before we arrived so we had a picturesque winter view that I cannot rave about enough. We enjoyed breakfast at the table next to the windows and even sat outside on the porch despite very low temperatures. We also saw a seal! He was sunbathing on a floating sheet of ice and we took the liberty of naming him Gerald. The location feels pretty isolated, but you can see other homes around the water and there are a few homes on the path to where we stayed. We could kinda see one or two homes through the bare trees but we never felt as if we had neighbors. The home is incredibly clean and well stocked. We would absolutely love to stay here again!

Thomaston was known as "The Town that Went to Sea" and due to the shipping industry in 1840 two out of the seven "millionaires" in the United States lived in Thomaston. The town is rich with the echoes of that illustrious past and is filled with history! Thomaston is located at the start of two magnificent peninsulae filled with history as well, and with the stunning natural beauty of the Maine coast, all starting at your doorstep. There are in- town hiking trails, Schooner day trips, bare boat charters, sea kayaking, ferries, swimming in lakes and coves, and beach-combing the coast with its islands. Penobscot Bay is one of the world's greatest sailing areas and boating enthusiasts will find this a paradise. There's also historic Knox Mansion overlooking the town, and Port Clyde's Marshall Point Light (featured in the movie Forrest Gump). We are four miles from Rockland, 8 miles from Rockport, and ten miles from Camden. The Cushing and St. George Peninsula both start at the harbor. Easy access to the Blues Festival, Wooden Boat Show, Lobster Festival, and Farnsworth Museum. Perfect for a quiet night's sleep and getting up early to catch the ferry from Port Clyde to Monhegan Island, or as a home base from which to explore the entire mid-coast region, with day trips from Pemaquid Point to Acadia National Park!
  • Daria's place was a 10/10. It was very clean, very comfortable, & in a great location. Her attention to detail, & thoughtfulness was very evident throughout the place. The original owner seemed like a cool guy too, & I appreciated that she shared some of his history with us. Her communication was excellent, & she was patient, as we had some delays & phone issues whilst getting there. I only wish we could of stayed there longer. Thanks Daria.

  • Spent six nights at the Morse house between Christmas and New Year's. You could not ask for a better location - close to Rockland, Rockport and Camden, while being a short walk into Thomaston. The place was lovely, and exactly what we were looking for - it was quiet, neat and tidy, with a well furnished kitchen where we could make some of our meals. Daria was awesome, and came to meet us as we arrived to show us the place. Highly recommended for your mid-coast stays!

    David2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best AirBnB experience I have had! Daria's place was meticulously clean and full of all things necessary for my week-long stay. I booked her place to visit family during Christmas, and Daria even provided an extra touch by cutting down a Christmas tree and providing decorations so my family could decorate the tree. It was a lovely stay!

    Sophia2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place at a great price. I would love to stay there again!

    Steve2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a wonderful weekend at Daria’s place in Thomaston. We found our accommodations to be excellent and could not have been more pleased. Firstly, the house is cozy, warm and inviting! More spacious and prettier than its pictures. The beds are most comfortable! The house is spotlessly clean and very well-stocked. We found that every little thing had been taken care of and I’m sure you will too. If for some reason you need attention, there is no doubt that Daria will be there to care for it with her exacting detail. I just asked Rob for his thoughts for this review. His response: “Of all the places we’ve stayed along the coast of Maine, this place was the homiest, the most comfortable…it just felt like home.” Thomaston is just a few miles from Rockland and a good starting point for so many adventures along the coast. The town itself is picturesque and has a lovely restaurant, the Thomaston Café. When we plan our next trip to the area, without question we’ll look to reserve Daria’s place again!

Captain Jacob's Victorian House circa 1854, newly renovated apartment, located on the first floor, with private entrance. Located in the historic town of Thomaston. Five minute drive to Rockland, ten min drive to Lucia Beach (Birch Point State Park). Within walking distance to the Public landing. Local amenities in the neighborhood, coffee shop, restaurants, hair salon, laundromat, antique stores, the famous Thomaston grocery store, library, parks, hiking trails and other great stores to check.
You have come to one of the best kept secrets in the world! Midcoast Maine is a fantastic destination year round. There are always events and fun to be had. We particularly love the look and feel of walking around the historic town of Thomaston. You can easily hike or drive to the top of nearby mountains, which provide great views of Penobscot Bay. There is great shopping in Rockland, Camden, Thomaston, and beautiful beaches along our rocky shore.
We are located a block from downtown Thomaston. The downtown has a grocery store, book store, gift store, restaurant, gym, clothing store, and small bar. Thomaston business district has ice cream and a nice movie theatre, the Flagship. Rockland is a five minute drive away and contains tons of museums, shops, restaurants, nightlife, a historic theatre, a ferry to vinalhaven, and a small beach. Owls Head is a ten minute drive and is home to a few nice beaches, the Owls Head lighthouse and park, as well as the Owls Head Transportation Museum. There is a small airport offering daily flights to the islands of Penobscot Bay. St George is fifteen minutes away with more great beaches, public tennis courts, a small ferry to Monhegan, great seafood restaurants, general stores full of love and charm, and swimmable rock quarries.
  • Maria and her apartment are fabulous. This cozy 1 bedroom has everything you need for your trip. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bed is very comfortable. Located in Thomaston, you can walk the town to explore or easily drive to Rockland, Camden, or Port Clyde. Maria was incredibly responsive to any and all of my questions, often responding in minutes! The next time we are in the area I intended to stay here if it is at all possible. It was perfect for my husband and I.

  • This apartment was perfect for what I needed on my trip. My goal was to explore the coastal area of Maine, and staying here gave me a great home base while I accomplished that. Great amenities and a great location!

  • Maria Jose's Captain Jacob's Victorian apartment was a dream. Cosily comfortable and sparkling clean, easy to access with lots of information about the area and things to do. What was so impressive to me was that anything you needed was supplied, from a first aid kit to candles for a blackout to beach towels and beach bags. Wonderful experience

Our two bedroom one bath ocean front cottage is tucked away on a private road in Owls Head, ME. Private beach with great views of Muscle Ridge Chanel. Close to food and art in Rockland and Camden. Interior is dated, but clean and comfortable.
Great location right on a quiet cove.
On a private dirt road with 6 other cottages.
  • We love this place!! This is our second stay and we can’t wait to come back! Nothing can beat the location and cozy feel of this cottage! It offers everything I could want from a cozy Maine vacation. This cottage would be perfect for a couples get away or a small family vacation! We just love it here.

    Nadine2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet cottage in a lovely private waterfront setting — but only 12 minutes to Rockland and close to numerous options for lobster rolls, sweet beaches, Owl’s Head light, and the ferry to Monhegan. Well supplied, comfortable beds, quiet neighborhood. All very lovely.

    Leslie2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was the perfect off-the-grid getaway. My boyfriend and I stayed for a week in mid September, which was mostly temperate weather and just outside of heavy tourist crowds. The little bay was quiet and sparkly, aside from the occasional plane. We drank coffee on the screened-in porch and watched an osprey nest. Wild blackberries grew around the home and the lack of WiFi/signal was a welcome slow down. Hot water was plentiful, the dishwasher was convenient, and bed super comfy. I had never been to Maine and this made for such an idyllic home base! Can’t wait to come back.

    Hannah2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. The view is amazing and we were less than a mile from Birch Point State park. Rockland was a quick 10 - 15 minute drive away too. Overall, a cute and cozy place to relax and get away from it all. Be prepared for no cell service or wireless - this was not an issue for us as we were looking to "unplug" and relax.

    Alexis2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome location for a weeks' vacation, particularly if you are looking to unplug! Very private spot overlooking the bay, and very convenient to local attractions. The cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need including pots and pans, soap and shampoo, bedding, towels, plenty of hot water for a shower, as well as a washer and dryer. Nathaniel was very responsive to questions and we will definitely be returning soon! Thank you for sharing your place!

    Theresa2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Second time we have stayed here. Perfectly quiet and lovely just like last time!

    Suzanne2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special place that we don’t want anyone to know about! Nathaniel was a great host and provided excellent recommendations. We will be back!

    Grant2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Be prepared that there's no tv nor internet but the wonderful waterfront location is worth it. It had the seclusion we wanted yet handy to our favorite lobster places. Well stocked kitchen. Very clean. A very nice cottage.

Cottage by the Ocean is close to art and culture, great views, restaurants dining, and museums. The guest room is dubbed the Tree Top because of the skylight and the corner windows tree view. Cottage by the Ocean is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. Please note that my two cats, Puppie and Pistol, help with the hosting. Convenient to Rockland, Rockport, and Camden. The room (see photo galley) can accommodate 2 travelers (+$20). Extra disinfectant applied between guests.
Dubbed the "Tree Top" room because it corner windows look out on a wooded scene and the sky light always provides a glimpse of the sky. The cozy Ikea-styled room with s is quiet and comfortable for a short stay in the area. The desk area is well lit and includes easy access electric outlets and a charging station.
Cottage on the Ocean features an unobstructed view of the Atlantic. Quiet neighborhood. Just a mile away, downtown Rockland offers boutique shopping, world class museums, and great dining. The location is perfect if you are participating in programs at Maine Media Workshops, Center for Woodworking, The Apprenticeship Program or other extended length educational activities. Great proximity to Rockland's downtown Strand Theatre whether you're coming for a musical concert or for one of the many events such as the Camden Conference or the Camden. International Film Festival And of course The Maine Lobster Festival, The North Atlantic Blues Festival and Rockland's premiere art museums: the Center for Maine Contemporary Art and the Farnsworth Art Museum. other museums include The Sail and Steamship Museum and the LIghthouse Museum.
  • Pam, Pistol and puppy are warm and welcoming host. The only thing better then the view is the shower!

  • Great view, parking right outside the house, easy access to the center of town but far enough away to avoid any crowds. My stay was in winter, when tourist amenities are limited, so I can't comment on available activities in the area.

  • I was so excited to come across Pam's place, and even more thrilled when I arrived! A true home away from home, I instantly felt relaxed as soon as I stepped foot in the door. Pam and her kitties are wonderful hosts. Everything about this place is ideal: the location (what a VIEW!), the room, the sweet little breakfast nook in the room, and, of course, the price. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • We stayed with Alianna & Daniel right after a big storm swept through the area. Faced with a rare power outage, they were very communicative about the situation and we were able to work together to modify our stay. Once we checked in, it was great to meet them both and we enjoyed our time at this home. Great location for our needs to visit family in the area and we enjoyed early morning breakfasts looking out at the river. Would absolutely stay here again!

  • Alianna & Daniel were great hosts! They greeted us upon arrival and gave some great suggestions for nearby places to explore and local restaurants to check out. Our space was roomy and clean. Alianna went above and beyond in her hospitality, decorating the space with fresh flowers and an anniversary balloon. We loved our stay in Thomaston!

  • The hosts are exceptionally lovely people-- very welcoming and kind! The upstairs space worked out really well for a friend and I for a weekend visit to the area. • Brud was the highlight of our trip to Maine. His hospitality was over the top. We highly recommend his farmhouse for a unique Maine experience

    John2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Brud was a very congenial host who took care of all of our needs. His place is beautiful and quiet. We found the fridge well-stocked with breakfast food from yogurt to fresh strawberries for the cereal he provided. Snacks were also available. We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

    Bonnie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Brud's space is always grand! We have made his apartment our full stop or partial stop for several trips to Maine. Price and location are a great fit. Brud is a kind and hospitable host.

  • Brud's home was a perfect spot for our stay in the Owl's Head/Rockland area. It's a great space with many fine touches and extras. Sparkling clean and easy to find and check in. Brud is a great communicator and offered some great ideas for us to consider. Plenty of up to date literature on food and fun in the area. In fact, the only negative was not meeting Brud. He been called away on family business. We'd happily stay again and highly recommend others stay here too.

  • Rebecca’s home is very welcoming and beautifully maintained. The location is perfect - right next to the river and a short walk to the Main Street. Mornings were enjoyed sitting at the table overlooking the river while drinking coffee. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were quite comfortable. We were not able to hear the upstairs neighbors so there are no noise complaints here. The listing is in a nice town that is about an hour away from Freeport and 30 mins from Camden. We were a group of four (2 couples) and had ample space. We enjoyed our stay very much. We would love to stay next time we are in the area. Thank you Rebecca!

  • Carrie was the most amazing host I have ever encountered on Airbnb. We were traveling was five kids and she had amazing recommendations for family activities that would captivate the entire crowd. She was extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area and offered excellent suggestions from food to activities that led to wonderful memories for our family! Additionally, Carrie checked up on throughout our stay to make sure we were taken care of. Upon arrival, she provided a thoughtful handwritten note and additional contact information should anything come up during our stay. I cannot speak more highly of Carrie. The home is cute and was a great location for all of our ventures. It is a dog friendly home and I believe a dog lives in the home when it is not occupied with folks from Airbnb. That is clearly explained in the description. A great stay!

    David2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The home was clean, welcoming, and comfortable. Everything was convenient. Carrie provided us with excellent tips and welcomed us with gifts. We were so glad we chose her home to stay in and highly recommend it for!!

  • A wonderful week at a very comfortable and charming country rental. A beautiful setting, off the main road (quiet), with great bird watching. Carrie put so much thought into making us feel welcome (fresh linens, soft towels, suggestions to local haunts, kayaks). The kitchen was even stocked with supplies for a yummy country breakfast! Communication is amazing with these extremely considerate hosts. Fully stocked kitchen, small patio, plenty of space to spread out (family of 5). Rent this home!

Step back in time to 1945 in this Vintage Seaside Cottage ..period furnishings with the essentials needed for everyday living...
Secluded as can be with nothing but the Ocean and Islands to take in....the sounds of the SeaShore are so relaxing and you'll find yourself dozing off while reclined and letting your cares be taken away by the warm breeze ...
  • The place was amazing. The pictures don't do the view justice. Making breakfast every morning and then sitting on the patio and just listening to the ocean Beach morning was a magical experience. The only complaint we had was the showers water pressure. But even with that, I would highly suggest this property.

    Tori2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything we hoped it would be. The views and sunsets are spectacular, the yard is large and lush, and the fire pit on the pebble beach was especially wonderful. The cabin had everything we needed from kitchen supplies (French press, pour over, drip pot, and grinder for coffee, complimentary water bottles in the fridge, cooking supplies, etc) to box fans, lawn chairs, fire wood, and kindling. Some things to note: Cell reception (for Verizon) was poor but usable. The four bedrooms are all on the second floor. There was plenty of hot water for showers but the water pressure in the shower was pretty low. It was pretty hard to locate (it’s a grassy driveway next to a large totem pole, the white plastic sign with the address number near the driveway is hidden behind some brush).

    Justin2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Read the description thoroughly, read the reviews and if it sounds like your kind of place, you won't be disappointed! A very special home in a very special place! "Rustic - in a good way" nails it! The beach, the lawn, the house, the area - so special!

  • It‘s a paradise for sea-lovers; kids and city slickers who want to escape the hectic city life and enjoy some peaceful days in a rustic retreat by the sea. Sea kayaking with seals; enjoying a wood fire on the beach under the star spangled sky of Maine is outdoor feeling at its best. We — two families (4 adults and two 7 year old kids )— stayed a week in owls head and enjoyed every day. It was truly epic — we cannot wait to return!

    Christiane & Christoph2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular location and view. Rustic in the best sense of the word.

    Stephanie2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This house is right on a huge expanse of ocean- visible from the upstairs bedrooms, and the front porch- and a few steps down from the lawn. It is rustic, the colors are beautiful. It is peaceful and serene. A real Maine summer home. No wifi at the time, but we liked that. The kids had to do without, as did we.

  • Aimee and Chez Liberte were terrific. The accommodations are well-appointed and equipped, spacious and immaculate. The star of the show is the beach -- cannot be beat! I'll be back!

  • A choice location with great privacy (though know it is 4 miles from town). A lovely house--so comfortable, so spacious. Everything we needed was provided. An outstanding private sandy beach. Pretty gardens. We had a marvelous time!

    Patricia2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee is very responsive to your needs. The house is awesome and packed full of all sorts of trinkets and décor to look at. When you wake up in the morning you can walk out to the water and see beautiful views. I would highly recommend it. Note, use Aimee's detailed directions to find it, GPS doesn't do a very good job.

  • Really clean and charming home with original artwork on the walls. Lobster dinner was the deciding factor in our choice.

  • Very well appointed, clean, stylish, etc. I can't think of more one could ask for.

  • Emily's place in Owl's head was very clean and well located for what we were looking for. Hosts were incredibly responsive and provided both written information and a few in-person tips for how to get the most out of the area.

    Stephen2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s house in Owl’s Head was great! Very clean, updated furniture, and nicely decorated. The bedrooms are small, but the living area is spacious which worked great for us. The dining table easily seats 8 adults. She also provides toys, books, and a pack-n-play for families traveling with small children. We loved that it had a full kitchen, with all the pans and utensils you need to cook at home. The lobster was delicious! The location is convenient to lots of great places to visit. We loved walking around downtown Rockland and going out to the breakwater lighthouse. You need a car, but everywhere we visited had plenty parking available. Emily’s welcome packet has lots of great tips for local beaches, lighthouses, restaurants, and wineries! Highly recommend a stay here!

  • Great experience. Would return.

    Ryan2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean, great location, cozy, comfortable property! Need we say more? Oh, and the lobsters weren’t bad either! Would definitely stay here again. Emily was super quick with answers to our every question and didn’t lose her patience with us 😀

This rustic Cabin is located on Headacre Farm a working farm, and produces goods for Cafe Miranda. Home to Chef/Owner Kerry Altiero. Owls Head and the neighboring communities offer an incredible vacation experience. From the bustling streets and restaurants of Rockland, to the quiet rocky beaches of Port Clyde, it is the true definition of ‘vacationland’ The cabin is good for couples and solo adventurers. (URL HIDDEN) (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)
Secluded and rural yet less than a mile from The Art and Culinary center of the midcoast. The city of Rockland has world class museums, shopping and culinary delights, coffee roaster and all the urban things you want, yet in a small town spirit.
Located on 17 acres with gardens, walking paths and privacy.
  • Cozy, private, and clean. Showering outside during sunrise is a privilege everyone should experience, at least sometimes.

    Andre2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a one room cabin on a farm. It has a portapotty to the side of the entrance and the outside shower is on a small deck at the back. This is definitely not the spot for everyone but I loved it. The cabin is up a rough unmade track, some big bumps. The place is adequately if spartanly equipped, eg only two forks so don’t bring friends over for linguine! Go to Cafe Miranda instead. Would suit free spirits and campers.

    Deb2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot! The cabin was just as described and conveniently located just down the road from downtown Rockland. Thanks Kerry!

  • Unusual place !! Kerry is a super nice and hospitable guy. For fans of motorcycles do not miss his collection of moto-guzzi, ducatis, buell ... he also has several beautiful alfa romeo that leave no doubt about its Italian origins. He also has a restaurant in town that sells the detour. We recommend this address

  • The cottage was fantastic and comfortable to stay in. The outdoor shower was perfect with HOT water and privacy and we appreciated the air conditioner on the warm nights. Quiet, waterfront retreat on the beautiful St. George Peninsula.
Long Cove East is a newly renovated waterfront cottage in the Clark Island area of St. George. Drive down a dirt road, through the woods, into the field of old apple trees that opens onto stunning Long Cove. Long Cove East is a private 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with a large deck with 180 degree views of the ocean. Here you can launch your kayaks or paddle boards and pull them up onto the bank until you are ready to go again. You can also swim or fish off the smooth rocks at high tide. The 10 foot tides provide views of an ever-changing land/seascape. The cottage is away from it all, yet close enough to walk to a sandy beach or swim in an island quarry during the day and later, see the stars in the dark night sky with no light pollution. In the morning you can hear the drone of lobster boats leaving to fish for the day and watch eagles, terns, osprey and other sea birds right out the windows. Inside the cottage you will find 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with a gas stove, dishwasher, microwave and bottom freezer refrigerator. Stools placed around the stove island provide a great spot for conversation with those preparing meals. There is a living room /dining area on this floor as well as a full bathroom and a bedroom with a queen sized bed and a desk under the window with water views. The second floor consists of a full bath and a family bedroom with a queen bed and 2 twins. Also on this floor is a semi-private space for reading or to play games and do puzzles. The cottage is equipped with WiFi, DirecTV, A/C, heat and washer/dryer. It is just as cozy for a single couple or two or a family with children. The cottage sleeps. 6. The town of St George on the St. George Peninsula, consists of two distinct villages, Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde with areas such as Martinsville, Clark Island, Spruce Head in between. The cottage is located halfway down the Peninsula, equidistant from the authentic fishing village of Port Clyde with it’s lighthouse and mail boat to Monhegan Island and the vibrant city of Rockland with many restaurants, museums, shops, live entertainment and galleries.
Long Cove East is off the Clark Island Road that ends at the causeway to the island. The quiet road is great for walking or bike riding anytime of day. The area was once a thriving village of workers and their families coming from Finland, Scotland, Italy among other places, to ply their skills in the many quarries. When walking to the cause way one can pick out buildings that once had stores, the post office, a social hall and boarding homes. The Craignair Inn was one such boarding house and now serves dinners on summer evenings. Clark Island Beach, is here as well. This is a great spot for families, with tidal pools and long sand expanses. It's somewhat remote location with few parking spots makes for lots of room to spread out and explore. Rockland with it's many restaurants, museums, shops and galleries is a 15-20 minute ride away. Also 15 minutes in the other direction, you will find Port Clyde, an authentic fishing village complete with a general store, lighthouse and museum, ice cream shop, the boat to Monhegan Island for a nice day trip.
  • This is a gem of a place. My wife, toddler, and I stayed here for a few days, enjoying the astoundingly beautiful setting, homey but stylish decor, and proximity to lighthouses, walks, amazing stargazing, and good seafood. Suzanne was a very thoughtful host, and provided bright orange hats to counteract danger from hunting season during our walks. This is a truly lovely place.

    Pedro2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Location was the best thing about this. Quick access to further down the peninsula, McCloon’s Lobster Shack, a couple parks and Rockland. The house is in a gorgeous setting and the house is modern and stocked well. A+ trip!

    Gregg2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! It's a perfect middle ground with having both quiet places and access to more hopping towns. We were in town for a wedding and kept joking that we should just skip that event and hang out exploring around the house. There are walkable beaches, a restaurant, and so many cozy reading spots at the house. The house is 100% lovely - spacious and cozy at the same time, with all the amenities we could have wanted. And the kitchen is a dream set-up - plus that grill! Wow. We highly recommend.

    Emily2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, clean, comfortable house in a wonderful location. Suzanne was welcoming and available, and the written information in the house was clear and helpful. We would happily return another year.

    Peter2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house, amazing location. And amazing owner!!

    Mary2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very secluded while being just a few minutes from town to get pizza or whatever you may need. The views are stunning and Rockland is very close for shopping and site seeing etc. If you have kids bring a frisbee or some type of yard games, the yard is huge and it’s so nice to be outside here! It’s Maine so get ready for ticks, we pulled off quite a few, but we also did a generous amount of hiking in the area, we are outdoors people. I recommend this place if you’re considering staying near Rockland and want to be off the main drag or avoid staying in a downtown area. There’s a very nice 1.5 mile hike nearby that comes out at the ocean at the end and it’s just lovely! There was plenty of room for Everyone without being too big, i like to able to see the kids from anywhere in the house and I could do that here. Perfect.

  • This was a perfect little get away. The site was immaculate and the views picturesque. We were incredibly cozy and comfortable both inside the charming tent with the camp stove and outside in the Adirondacks by the fire. The bed was amazing and we slept great. There is a wonderful walking path to the rocky shoreline and kayaks you can use to paddle around the peninsula in. We honestly hated to leave. Claire was very gracious and ensured we made it to our site and had everything we needed. The outfitter tent stays very warm with little wood. We brought extra and but left it for the next visitors. This is definitely one of my new favorite places to stay on Airbnb. Can’t wait to come back!

    Alicia2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot on the coast! We brought our dog, rowed out to a nearby island with one of the boats provided, and enjoyed apples from the trees. The wood stove heated the tent up quickly! Just remember to bring your own pillows and extra blankets!

    India2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most beautiful experience I have had. My (newly engaged!) fiancé and I stayed for my 30th birthday celebration, and everything was SO perfect. The privacy and security I felt there was unmatched by any other camping spot we’ve ever stayed at. The Tentrr itself felt like home immediately, and was absolutely pristine and SO unbelievably romantic and adorable. The view was spectacular no matter what time of day it was, and the peace you feel while staying here is indescribable. We slept better than we had in ages, and the fact that our dogs could be with us to enjoy their own freedom was just the cherry on top. The suggestions Claire and Micah had for things to see and eat were all amazing little local gems We wouldn’t have stumbled across by ourselves! Plus, the kayaks and row boat were an amazing extra feature! We were able to include our dogs in everything we did and again, I can’t explain how much that means to us. Claire and Micah are beyond thoughtful, personable, and overall just great people from all the interactions we had, plus all their personal touches for our stay were incredible!! Kyle and I will absolutely be back, and we will be telling everyone about how amazing this place is!

  • Annie’s place was lovely. It had everything we needed and the location was so beautiful! Annie was very responsive to all questions and even provided us with a pack n play for our baby to sleep in. She also made her kayaks available to us to use. Annie’s place met and exceeded all expectations and needs during our stay.

  • Great view, right on a quiet cove. Wake up watching the local fisherman across the water head out. Close enough to town so you can head in for dinner but secluded enough to see the entire milky way. We will be back

    Jim2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a scenic spot! We didn't get to use the kayaks but Annie had some great suggestions for spots to kayak. The location is great and you can quickly get to great restaurants and beautiful vistas. The shower is a little small and can be challenging. Also beware that the bathroom area is in the back close to the pipes and water heater. It can be a bit noisy and smelley.

    Erin2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spot with nice views. Annie is lovely and accommodating. I love her dog Bella! This is a studio and is quite comfortable for one and could be with more if you don't mind sharing space.

  • Annie is awesome. her recommendations of activities made our weekend. Excellent location to everything, but very secluded as well. We got lucky and saw one of the best sunsets of our lives across the water from her house. 1 mile from an epic beach, 3 miles from epic ice cream, 4 miles from Rockland. Book her place!

  • Our stay was fabulous. The house was larger than expected and clean as a whistle. It's at the end of a quiet street, so it was nice and quiet, secluded, and private. Very kid friendly - toys, princess doll house play corner, playground, grassy yard. The pool was the perfect size for kids (and a few adults). The kitchen was well equipped and easy to use. Air conditioners and lots of fans. so it was very comfortable inside. Bedrooms were all comfortable generous sizes. The sheets and linens were great - nice to have extra towels. Elizabeth was super responsive to all our questions. We will definitely stay there again!

    Bill2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful experience staying at Elizabeth's place. The house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The air conditioning really came in handy during our July visit since it was very warm during the daytime. The house is very close to the city of Rockland, Rockport, and Camden which makes hiking, fishing, and shopping excursions very easy.

Enjoy views of the water as you dine in the Bunkhouse or outside in a Long Point lounging chair. Skylights, fan and electric heater are additional amenities in this snug, insulated cabin. You have easy access to Rockland's museums and culture, Port Clyde's working waterfront and ferry to Monhegan Island or you may decide just to hang out at Long Point watching seals in the Cove, eagles and osprey overhead and the peninsula's red squirrels. Two night minimum. Pricing includes a continental breakfast for your first morning.
This is the true mid coast of Maine--beautiful but not remote, authentic and fun. You can swim off Long Point, kayak or paddle board in Port Clyde, eat lobster on the dock in Spruce Head, see live music or a new indie film at The Strand in Rockland . . . lots or nothing to do, as you chose.
  • Everything about staying with Dayne and Gardner was perfect. The grounds and landscaping were peaceful, thoughtful, and in harmony. The bunkhouse was charming and had everything you need to escape. Dayne and Gardner were fantastic hosts, they greeted us to ensure that we knew how to use the bunkhouse amenities, to answer questions and they made suggestions of what to do in the area, where to eat and where to explore. I wanted to do some kayaking while visiting and they took extra time to show me where I could launch. Muffins, fresh fruit and yogurt were left for us to enjoy in the morning. The space is small, so you don’t want to bring too much with you and you should be sure to travel only with someone you like, but the space is well laid out and feels bigger than it is. But, let’s be honest, when you have an outside as stunning as it is there, you won’t want to spend much time indoors. I would have no hesitation recommending a stay here and look forward to returning. Thanks Dayne and Gardner!

  • Wonderfully helpful hosts, beautiful spot, peaceful, and quiet. We loved our getaway and absolutely fell in love with the location and environment. 100% recommend the space and look forward to going back!

  • We had a lovely stay here. The location is beautiful, situated on a secluded bay. It was nice to wander around the property and relax in the hammock after a long day in the sun. The cabin is just the right size for two people and is a perfect home base for the sights in the area.

    Jill2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful spot!

    Margaret2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived quite late at night, but Dayne waited for us and showed us around the bunkhouse!! It felt much bigger than it looks! It has more than everything you need! The location is A plus! We spent an afternoon just lying on the hammock. It felt soooo nice! Will definitely come back in the future!!

    Monica2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our fourth year staying at the bunkhouse. That should say enough about how wonderful Dayne and Gardner are, and how amazing this place this is. This year’s highlight was picking wild blueberries scattered around the property. A real highlight. Thank you Dayne and Gardner for sharing your beautiful space with us.

    Edouard2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you seek quiet, peacefulness and beauty this is the spot. We loved our stay.

Captain Jacob's Victorian House circa 1854, newly renovated apartment, up a flight of stairs located on the second floor, with private entrance. Located in the historic town of Thomaston. Minute drive to Rockland and beaches. Within walking distance to the Public landing. A variety of local amenities in the neighborhood, coffee shop, restaurants, hair salon, laundromat, antique stores, the famous Thomaston grocery store, library, parks, hiking trails and other amazing stores to check.
  • Enjoyed our stay here so much!! Such a beautiful apartment. The bed was incredibly comfortable! Had some trouble with the TV and he was there in a short time to fix it for us! We will certainly be back! Thank you so much for your hospitality!

  • What a great, cozy and comfortable private apartment. Hosts are quick to respond and provide a thoughtful binder of info for what to do in the area. We really enjoyed our stay and would totally recommend!

  • A great location and friendly host. I’ll be back for my next visit.

  • We had the pleasure of staying at Maria’s Captain Jacob's Victorian Residence for two nights. The apartment is spacious and extremely comfortable. In fact the beds were so comfortable I had the best two nights of sleep I have had in ages. We will be sure to stay at Captain Jacob's Victorian Residence again when we are in the Rockland and Camden area. Thanks Maria.

    Randall2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment in center of Thomaston but on a quiet street. The apartment is larger than it appears in pictures. The bedroom is huge with lots of storage and very comfy bed. The living room has a day bed and there is a large pantry next to the kitchen. The apartment is sparkling clean and very tatstefully decorated. The responses were very fast and Maria let us checkout later because there was noone coming in right after us. We will be back. Thanks.

    Ania2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was awesome! Decoration was awesome, my girlfriend loved the pictures on here and loved it even more when we got there. The bed was also super comfortable which was nice. The town is tiny but very nice to walk around, and right around the corner was a place called The Block Saloon, we ended up eating there both nights of our stay, really great place. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a place in the area. Kitchen was great and everything was very clean. Hopefully we’ll be back sometime

    Jordan2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a terrific stay! Next time we’ll make it longer. The apartment was perfect, cozy and comfortable, with plenty of space to stretch out and feel at home. The location is perfect for a stroll around town. Take note that the apartment is located up a flight of stairs. Not a problem if you are capable of climbing. Plenty of extras include a binder full of information about the area. Very thoughtful!

    Rose2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very spacious and has everything you need for a short stay, including bath towels and beach towels, shampoo, cooking equipment and a lobster pot. It was nice staying in a less touristy location than some of the other nearby towns, and by car it was easy to reach lots of different towns and beaches. Although we didn't meet Maria, she replied to messages quickly and gave us some local tips. There is a big 'things to do' binder she has made which contains lots of useful info.

    Bart2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time staying in this quaint cabin. Marci was so kind as to let us have our pup stay there as well! She made checking in and checking out seamless and was very accommodating and quick to respond with any questions we had. The property is beautiful and you get the best of both worlds of being hidden in the tranquil woods of Rockport Maine and only a minute drive to the ocean views! Thank you for being such a great host Marci!

    Julianne2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The location is close to sevices but feels secluded. Has a nice open living area and kitchen with fireplace, comfortable seating, games and a large tv. Having the in unit washer/dryer was so helpful. We enjoyed a cozy christmas in this beautiful cabin in the woods!

    Gretchen2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place; Marci is very responsive and very cordial. It’s beautifully decorated and had everything I needed.

    Susan2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cabin that has all the comforts of home. Marci was very communicative throughout our stay. It is conveniently located between Rockland and Camden. We enjoyed our stay and we plan on returning in the future.

    Lucy2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, cozy stay at Marci's place! The cabin itself is very well-appointed (the working fireplace, smart TV/wifi, and openness to canines was absolutely critical given the lousy weather we were granted during our stay), and the location can't be beat by anything in this budget.

    Katie2019-11-20T00:00:00Z

This house was built in 1847 as a home to shipbuilders during Thomaston’s historic ship building heyday. The house is 1 block from the St. George River and a short walk to the waterfront. It is a 3 block stroll along shady streets to the village . Inside the old fashioned house is bright, cheerful and quaint. For railroad buffs, there is a bi-weekly local freight train that passes by. This is a pet friendly home and neighborhood!
This is an old "rustic" house with character! There is an oil furnace and gas monitor in the kitchen that heats the downstairs nicely . (The wood stove can not be used by guests per insurance policy) The upstairs, as characterized in most old new england houses, does not have central heat. But I have provided radiant heaters in the bedrooms as supplementary heat.
This is a neighborhood with a lots of dogs . Very dog friendly ! A small fright train may pass by once during the week. Otherwise a quiet friendly neighborhood with a small view of the river .
  • Great house, great hosts. Easy walking the dogs down beautiful neighborhood streets. Quiet location. House is set up very well, and was wonderfully clean. Thanks so much! Also, Thia was a great communicator.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Thia's home. The house was so charming and clean. It is conveniently located to town. There were fresh flowers in the kitchen, which were so thoughtful. The neighborhood and town feel very safe. Thia's communication was fast and very friendly. We would highly recommend staying there and definitely plan to return. Thank you, Thia!

  • Charming home with lots of character. Lots of great toys for the little ones.

    Emily2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thia’s home is a rustic, Maine house. It is conveniently located, clean, and a good value. It was quiet. Thia is a very responsive host.

    Damian2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, spacious historic house walkable to everything in Thomaston. Easy access to Rockland and Route 1. The neighborhood is beautiful, very close to the river and we loved seeing all the historic houses. It is tastefully decorated with lots of antiques. We made good use of the kitchen which is very well equipped, including some lovely pottery. We appreciated the little touches such as fresh flowers, coffee and creamer. The railroad crossing is right in the front yard, the train never passed by during our stay - would have really made my son's vacation extra special if it did!

    Poulomi2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thia was a great host. She was easy to get in touch with, personable and quick to answer my questions. The house is within walking distance to Thomaston Main Street and if we were in the area we'd walk up for dinner or breakfast. We also walked down to the restaurant and public landing on the river. The house was comfortable and the living area large enough to have extended family over for the evening. It's in a great location ... quick drive to Rockland, Camden, etc and lots if lighthouses. I would stay here again.

Our two room suite has a private entrance with the living and bedroom separated by French doors. It offers a comfortable queen bed, a sofa, and a full bath adjacent to the suite. A well located home base for your mid-coast adventure. Whether you are traveling here to see our many lighthouses, visit our well known museums, appreciate Maine coastal arts, kayak, hike, or mountain bike, or just plain eat lobster, it is all close.
Located at the end of the house with its own entrance, livingroom and bathroom, this accommodation has a peaceful and private feel. Surrounded by windows on 3 sides, it is very bright with a relaxing view of an open spruce forest. It is about a 1 minute walk to the village waterfront. There you can enjoy a dockside seafood meal at Luke’s Lobster, a bakery, a German/seafood restaurant, grocery store with gas and deli, and more. You may choose to relax in your suite where there are many books, games, and puzzles for use. Free wifi is provided as well as the use of a Roku TV with a chromecast (you can mirror your enabled devices or watch Roku channels already downloaded to the tv). The full bathroom includes a tub/shower, sink, and toilet for your use. This private bathroom, next to the suite, is for guest use only. There is a Keurig coffee maker and a mini fridge in your living room.
It is about a 1 minute walk to the Tenants Harbor waterfront. There you can enjoy a dockside seafood meal at Luke’s Lobster, a bakery, a German/seafood restaurant, grocery store with gas and deli, and more. The town landing is also here where you can launch your kayak or hang out and watch the lobster and fishing boats depart, arrive, and bring in their catch. The view here is wonderful!

Maine the way life should be is not just an expression at River Run its a way of life. Located in Andrew Wyeth country (town of Cushing, Maine) River Run is a recently renovated 600 square ft cottage 75 ft off the St George river. It sits on 260 feet of privately owned tidal salt water river frontage just miles upriver from the Atlantic Ocean. Great for a romantic get away or to reconnect and recharge. Spend your time on the shore or sight seeing in the near by towns of Rockland and Camden
We live on the property behind the cottage. We respect your privacy however we are here if you need us for direction or want to share a glass of wine at the end of the day by the camp fire. We do have a dog named Cooper he is an 11 year old Golden Doodle who loves to be petted. Please let us know if you are not dog friendly and we will make sure he stays out of your way. Our location is quiet and peaceful in a rural neighborhood although you will hear the wild turkeys, seagulls and other birds or perhaps our neighbor's horses. We pride ourselves on providing a clean, safe cottage. You will have total access to the shorefront with easy slope to the shore. Down by the water you will forget all your troubles while you are surrounded by nature. We are located just a couple of miles off Route One so traveling to attractions and local sight seeing places is easy.
Our neighborhood is a quiet rural neighborhood an easy place to relax and get away from the busy world. However we are less than 2 miles from Route One and the Town of Thomaston. The Main Street area is filled with elegant old homes and a small downtown area with a few restaurants. 5 miles further up Rte One is Rockland the Lobster capital of the world with many shops, art galleries and restaurants as well as Wal Mart and other retail chains. Ferry terminals for trips to the local islands are also close by.

With beautiful serene ocean views (270 degrees of water from front deck), you'll fall in love with this cozy cottage in no time! Peaceful and quiet, but minutes from all Rockland activities.
The views are breathtaking and the peace of mind is priceless. There's is a HUGE master bedroom with new queen bed and oceanviews. There's an additional room downstairs (with a full size bed), which also has ocean views. There are two lofts upstairs-- one has a brand new full sized mattress and the other has a single/twin sized cot. Fresh linens and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for lobster boils! You'll have all the cooking utensils you need and I try to provide the basics (salt, pepper, etc.), but you may want to plan to bring your own spices/extras to make sure you have what you need!
The cottage is located in gorgeous Sprucehead and is in one of the largest working lobster wharves in the world. The property is quiet and peaceful, but all the amenities and attractions of South Thomaston and Rockland are within a 15 minutes drive.
  • It was a wonderful getaway and a perfect cottage to spend our Christmas Eve. The bay view outside the deck was spectacular. Definitely a place for a getaway!

    shruti2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! It’s a very quiet and clean house, right on the water. The kitchen is well stocked, and there are lots of linens and towels provided. Everything was spotless! We loved our fall vacation here and would certainly return again one day. Thank you!

    Fiona2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica was a lovely host, very prompt and informative. The location is great and the house with all the amenities is very comfortable and accommodating. From reading the previous reviews we knew the house would be "well-stocked" but we were still pleasantly surprised to find the many toiletries and necessities in the vanity and bureau drawers! We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate at the chance to stay there again!

    Renee2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Waking up to a spectacular view of the water is one of the clearest ways to really epitomize everything that is being in Maine. The house's idyllic setting, combined with Jessica's responsiveness to all manner of issues made for a spectacular weekend.

    Evan2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is an exceptional house with an exceptional view.

    Garnet2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect vacation house, equipped with everything you need. We had a great time here, and really hope to come back next year. Thank you Jessica!

    Doron2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica's cottage is a wonderful getaway. It's beautiful, relaxing, and probably the best-outfitted Airbnb at which we've stayed (kitchen needs, games, etc). The view is amazing, the place is so peaceful, and Jessica is a joy to work with! I can't say enough good things about it and her. We'd really like to go again sometime. The area is wonderful too - so well-situated in Maine. For all, site and kids, you should check out the Transportation Museum nearby (yes, I know it sounds boring, but it's NOT!). Additionally, McLoon's Lobster Shack is just around the corner - so tasty and cute, you need to go! Overall, Jessica's cottage is very highly recommended by our entire family!

    Alan2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Jessica’s. This is definitely the most well stocked Air BnB I have ever rented. From the bedside night shades & ear plugs to the fans, games, fishing pole (we added a second one), smart tv, Adirondack chairs and humongous lobster pot it’s hard to want for anything. We’ve been coming to the area every August for the last ten years for a family reunion and have rented 4 other homes but this is definitely the best one. The beds are comfortable, the house is sparkling clean and the view is beautiful and calming. My 81 year old father joined us and he walks with a walker and was able to make the 2 steps into the house. There is a bedroom right next to the front door and across from the bathroom - a perfect set up for him. He also enjoyed his meals at the dining table overlooking the water and he sat outside on the deck for a bit each day. I know the serenity and view was good for his soul!! Take the time to visit Port Clyde - an often overlooked gem. The Monhegan puffin tour is longer and less expensive than boat rides out of Portland or Camden. The general store offered bigger and less expensive live lobsters than our usual go to, Millers. The Barn (across from the general store) was a fun place to grab a drink, talk to friendly people and take in some local art on the second level. Thanks Jessica! We look forward to returning next year.

You can't get any closer to the coast of Maine. The cottage perches on a dock next to a small cove. Low tide beach, high tide swimming area, and lapping waves on a near by ledge make this get away a perfect retreat for one or two guests.
The cottage provides everything you need for a comfortable stay: New mattress and bedding, comfortable chairs for relaxing and dining, a kitchenette for light meals, and deck furniture to enjoy outdoor living. Wrap around windows provide views of the cove and access to summer breezes. A heater keeps the cabin toasty on cooler days.
We are located in a neighborhood of year round homes and summer houses. The nearby (.5 miles) Audubon property offers walking trails. Damariscotta and Round Pond, 15 minutes away, have many restaurants and shops, and galleries. A half hour drive will bring you to Camden and Rockland where you have more access to restaurants and museums. The Midcoast is a beautiful area of Maine that appeals to people who want to view the scenery of the rocky coast while they also enjoy the uniqueness of each village.
  • Sharon and Dick were expert hosts. The "Little Heaven" description of this location is an understatement. It was absolutely perfect. My soul, my body, my mind, were completely at rest in this place. I can't describe how beautiful it is: waking up to a calm inlet at low tide, sleeping to the sound of the waves lapping inward as high tide was rising, the fishermen headed out to sea in the morning, the leaves across the bay having changed looking like a palette of earth tones. It was heavenly, indeed.

    Todd2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely stunning spot- perfect for relaxing, and also perfectly positioned to adventure out and explore beautiful Maine. Sharon and Dick are perfect hosts, and their warm, welcoming personalities are evident. My husband and I listened to the tides come in and out, heard the loon singing, owl calls- Perfection really, for anyone that likes being in tune with nature.

    Caitlin2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This space is small and cozy, right on the water where you can experience the changing tides and bird watch throughout the day (we especially loved watching the cormorants fish!). Location is great, and Sharon & Dick are super responsive and welcoming hosts. Excellent experience!

    Nikki2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in a beautiful setting! Hard to beat the location - directly on the water - lovely to be able to watch the tide come and go on the rocky shore. The cottage is small but masterfully set-up to take advantage of the space. There are two comfortable armchairs in the windows for watching the tides and the sunset, and a deck with more chairs and tables outside. The kitchen was so meticulously set-up that I sent my son, who is a fan of "tiny houses," a few photos of the layout of dishes, cookware etc inside the cabinets - he was impressed. We had no difficulty cooking a range of nice meals despite the small space. We hope to have a chance to stay in this wonderful place again sometime soon.

    Piper2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Words truly cannot describe this little place. My husband and I eloped from Iowa, and got married right there on the boat dock, and spend a week relaxing, seeing the local sites, eating lobster and oysters, and watching the trees start to turn colors. Our first time in Maine was unbelievable, and would not have been the same had we stayed somewhere else. We loved the winding, wooded roads, and just wish we had our motorcycle! This little cottage was perfect for the two of us. Well equipped with everything we needed. We loved cooking live lobsters, grilling steaks and burgers, and eating on the deck. Dick & Sharron are wonderful!! Always friendly when we saw them around the property, and we still felt secluded and in our own private space. We look forward to returning to Little Heaven again someday!! Best vacation of our lives!

    Sarah2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space and hosts. Waking up on the water was truly inspiring.

  • This is an amazing little spot on the water. Sharon and Dick were so helpful, but not intrusive. Life does not get much better than sitting on the deck, eating lobster and watching the seals.

  • This cottage is truly an unforgettable slice of heaven. We had the best time staying here and felt right at home. The cottage itself was adorable, very clean and well organized, allowing us to make dinners and breakfasts everyday, as well as grill on the porch. We enjoyed nearby hiking and sightseeing, beautiful sunsets and blissful mornings. We loved how quiet the location was and its tranquility, with unique birds and a fresh ocean smell morning and night. Sharon and Dick were very welcoming and accommodating, and we felt very comfortable lounging on the porch and sitting on the dock off their property. All we can say is thank you so much for an unforgettable experience and we definitely plan to return! This place is Maine’s best kept secret, in my opinion ;)
