Professionally decorated, warm and welcoming guest house. Privacy abounds in this stylish, cozy retreat that has all the amenities that any seasoned traveler could hope for, including those for your canine family members too!
Professionally decorated, warm and welcoming guest house. We have taken extraordinary care to create a space that pleases all our guests' senses -- the aesthetics and views; quiet privacy; lovely, scented accents; crisp linens and soft bath towels and robes; and welcoming beverages upon your arrival. Prime location near the Rose Bowl -- we are closer than some of the paid parking lots! We have beds for 4+ and a porta-crib. Plenty of pillows and blankets. The husband is an avid bicyclist and welcomes fellow cyclists to loaner road bikes so that our guests can enjoy some of the incredible roads and trails nearby. We are an electric vehicle family and have on-site charging available. We have a sweet, mixed-breed rescue dog. She is a non-barker and loves visiting with our two- and four-legged guests! Large windows to take in the treetop views -- the guest house is above our garage and is accessed from a winding path through the front yard, up six steps to the porch. There's a robust A/C unit and a wall heater. The kitchen is well-stocked. If there's something missing, just let us know!
Located in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood full of luxurious family homes. Walk to the Rose Bowl, short Uber/Lyft ride to Old Town Pasadena, Eagle Rock and La Canada.
  • Barbara and Chris are wonderful hosts! They have great communication and are very welcoming. Their guesthouse is conviniently located walking distance to the Rose Bowl and just a short drive to Old Town Pasadena. I can't say enough about this place and the hosts. I definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a home away from your home. It has just about anything you need. Very spacious and clean! We had a peaceful, relaxing stay and will definitely book again!

  • Wonderful private resort style guest guest house. I loved staying here and they were such great hosts! Very clean, spacious and comfy. I've never felt so welcome staying in an Airbnb space.

  • My daughter and I had a fabulous stay! The cottage was everything we had hoped for and more, and Barbara and Chris are friendly and very accomodating. The location is in a very nice neighborhood and only 2 miles to Old Town Pasadena. It's even closer to the Rose Bowl. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the Pasadena area. I wish our stay was longer! Loved it!

    Teresa2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara and Chris made us feel welcome in every way. The cottage is beautiful! It was clean and they let us park before the game, so we could walk over to the Rose Bowl. I would absolutely recommend this listing! The pictures do not do this beautiful guest house justice.

    Megan2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We found this cottage comfortable, very well equipped, in a lovely residential setting with big trees, a huge variety of flowers and shrubs and a very short walk to the Rose Bowl and hiking trails. We spent 11 days visiting family, had excellent communication with our hosts, our dog was welcomed and had the run of this large, fenced yard. Very quiet beautiful neighborhood, perfect for walking. The cottage is designed for readers, with great lighting and comfortable chairs, even over-bed reading lamps. We loved our stay, would return over and over. Barbara and Chris are excellent hosts, friendly, accommodating, respectful of our privacy. Highly recommend this Air B&B

  • Barbara and Chris are the best! They are very accommodating. The cottage is clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the cottage and the surroundings which is very safe and quiet. They are both very accommodating. We would definitely recommend to anyone.....and the chickens and "Daisy" the doggie are very cute and fun to have around.

  • Great location, close to my work and very cozy. Nice large kitchen with beautiful hardwood floors throughout. I really loved the bed and blankets, it was the most comfortable sleep I've had when traveling. The hosts were very accomodating to my needs and responsive when needed. Thanks Barbara and Chris I hope to be back again soon.

Newly furnished and newly listed bungalow situated in Eagle Rock (at the border of Highland Park, near Pasadena and Glendale), this 2-bedroom garden bungalow is walkable to restaurants, Occidental College, and Highland Park's trendy York strip.
This 2 bedroom home is perfect for those with a kid or two with a large yard to boot. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has a full bed (updated photo to be added ASAP). The house is cozy, but comfortable. Visiting on business? The house comes with lightning fast wi-fi and is quiet as a mouse. For those who want to experience Los Angeles, this bungalow is conveniently located a short walk from Highland Park’s York strip or a short Uber ride from Pasadena, Glendale, Silver Lake, Echo Park and Downtown LA. As far as staying on the East Side goes, you could not be more centrally located than to stay in this adorable Garden Bungalow. Though it's air conditioned and heated, this wonderful home usually stays right around the perfect temperature due to the large amount of foliage and trees that shade and protect it from the elements. In fact, this spectacular charmer has a huge yard in the front - perfect for tossing a ball or two with Fido or relaxing in the glow of an Angeleno sunset. Has a driveway spot. Otherwise, there is ample street parking for guests or additional parking needed.
Our home is in a residential area between Highland Park's adorable York Blvd. and Eagle Rock's Colorado Blvd. Enjoy many independently owned coffee shops, restaurants, and stores. Come enjoy the laid back eastside charm of the area!
  • This place was beautiful. We got there after a last minute notice that our townhouse was being fumigated and we were so frazzled bc of the move-out and working crazy full time, but they couldn't have been nicer hosts. The place was sparkling clean and even stocked with nice shampoos and soaps and candles, and a lovely coffee set and kitchen/towels/etc. Everything you need to just live normally. It was also decorated beautifully and the yard was absolutely gorgeous. Our dogs had so much fun in the yard and were so happy. This is a great place to rent for an LA getaway if you want to just live like a normal Angeleno in a beautiful house.

  • This was truly one of the best Airbnbs that I've ever stayed in...SO clean and charming, it had everything we needed. The size is perfect and I love the neighborhood it's in- really great for walking around and seeing the beautiful homes. I stayed with my parents and we would definitely come back! Only downside is that one of the beds is a double, so not ideal for two tall couples....but otherwise, fantastic!

    Elyse2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • PROS: Alyssa’s little mid-century modern bungalow was charming and immaculate. The house provided ample room for my sister and I to have our own space, which is crucial when you’re both adults. We enjoyed spending our mornings out on the front porch with a cup of tea, talking about our plans for the day. The gated driveway was a bonus – the extra security allowed me to sleep at night knowing my car was safe. The decor was lovely and welcoming, and she provided all right amenities to make us feel right at home. We also appreciated that kitchen and bathroom were spotless. CONS: I am allergic to dogs, and this pet-friendly AirBnB triggered my allergies. When I booked I requested that the house be cleaned thoroughly and aired out, and this was either not done or it wasn't effective. If you're allergic to dogs, strongly keep this in mind when booking. Also, LA is pretty big, and this AirBnB isn't that close to much, so budget in some time for driving. Crucially, it's worth noting that LAX is an hour's drive each way from this AirBnB.

    Kyle2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Alyssa's place was a wonderful, clean, comfortable space it was perfect for our stay. Would not hesitate to stay there again!

    isabella2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is comfortable, impeccably clean and spacious. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal (and then some). Parking was easy, and the neighborhood is incredibly quiet and residential. We loved our 5 night stay! Our family of three had more then a enough room (two adults, one dog) - and the fenced in yard was a huge plus. The location is perfect; with restaurants and groceries stores just minutes away.

    kim2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Alyssa and her huisband are charming people hoe are present to help if needed but still discret. The house is exactly like on the pictures. Fonctionnal and cute. 100% satisfaction

    Quentin2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Centrally located in Eagle Rock on the East Side of LA, Alyssa's place is super chill and cozy. Perfect jump off point to Echo Park, Highland Park, and Downtown areas where we spent most of our time. The bungalow was huge: full kitchen, 2 bedroom, bathroom, and living room with plenty of space. Clean, white walls, wood floors, with minimal but tasteful decor which added character. Alyssa was super sweet and was always responsive and accommodating. Our dogs loved hanging out in the front yard. They also appreciated the air conditioning during the 90+ degree summer weather, lol. Really enjoyed our stay here, such a gem... Thank you!!!

    Marky2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, quaint and comfortable. Required being in a lot of traffic to get where we wanted to go. Loved the bed in the larger bedroom. The one in the smaller bedroom is quite firm. Smaller bedroom has a tendency to get a little warm. Very well stocked. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Stay in a charming, historic home in a wonderful neighborhood--close to restaurants, stores, galleries, museums, and the Rose Bowl, which is a great venue for concerts and sporting events. The house is full of beautiful art and sunlight.
This is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home with an extra outdoor shower. The family room has a sectional couch and an 85" plasma TV. There is a large backyard and a patio with plenty of seating, a grill, a tree house, a 5-person jacuzzi, and an outdoor shower with hot water. The beds in the house follow: one king (upstairs bedroom), one queen (downstairs bedroom), one full (upstairs bedroom), one twin (family room), one twin rollaway, and one queen air bed. The home comfortably sleeps 7-10. As an added security measure, there are security cameras around the outside of the home (but certainly not inside).
My home is in the beautiful, safe, family-oriented, incorporated city of South Pasadena, known for its many trees and gardens, excellent schools, artists & musicians, and of course, the Rose Parade every New Year's Day.
  • This was my second time renting from Debora. Last year was a different house she herself was just as accommodating and charming. The house this year was her personal home and it had such a welcoming and homey feel to it. My group and I were very comfortable and over the course of our week stay we ate in every night since it was simply just so comfortable. I will say I did try to venture out and stay in the really cute tree house, but it was hot, and being that it is a "tree house" there were some harmless spiders, so I simply made my way into the house and slept on the roll out bed instead and was much more cozy. Thank you again Debora for opening you home up to us! Hope to be able to do a repeat again next year!

    RaeLea2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Happy to spend four days in the here. Debora is very ardour. The room is very comfortable, very spacious. The garden is the children the most loved place, and hot springs is very good. The log cabin is exotic.Thank you.

    Ru2014-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is our first airbnb experience and everything just turns out perfectly. Debora is a great host and always makes sure everything is alright. The house is super clean and tidy and it's located at a quiet and decent neighbourhood. We traveled with three kids and the back yard of this house is truly a paradise to them! I'd highly recommend this house to my friends who will travel to LA. My kids are already begging me to bring them back to this house next summer:)

    Wai Ming2015-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Debora Parks' home in S Pasadena. Debora was very welcoming and even provided some breakfast items on our arrival which made our first night stay that much more relaxing. Debora was very helpful in ensuring that everything operated properly and in making suggestions for local activities. The house was very comfortable, clean and charming. The backyard was perfect for our family - great for BBQs and with good space for children to play. The location was perfect for us in residential S Pasadena within walking distance of shopping. Overall everything met or exceeded our expectations and we would recommend Debora's house.

    Greg2014-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Debora's house. She met us and walked us through, very friendly and she was staying nearby so fully available when we had a question. The place is beautifully equipped and made it easy for us to cook and relax there. There is also a little outdoor shower that we all loved - nothing like looking up at a palm tree while washing your hair! The house is on a slightly busy street but because it is oriented more to the back, the noise never bothered us. We took some lovely jogs and walks through the neighborhood to the south Pasadena commercial area - very cozy with cafes, etc.

    Jinx2014-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Not only is the location convenient to everything, the house is spacious, well appointed and a great place gather. The backyard was the perfect setting for a post wedding cookout and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. We thoroughly enjoyed our week.

    Michele2014-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful house (photos don't quite do it justice) in a great part of South Pasadena. Can't recommend it more highly. Young kids (like my three-year-old son) will love the backyard, including the tree house. Debora was an excellent host.

    Jameel2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • I was traveling with a group of graduate students and post-docs visiting Pasadena for a conference. We had a wonderful time staying in Debora's lovely home! It's very comfortable and homey (while still being immaculate). The treehouse is truly awesome -- I envy the lucky children who grew up here!

  • This listing was a stellar listing for us. My colleague stayed 8 days at this home during his business trip to Los Angeles. Barry was easily accessible for any questions and very helpful in his responses. Had a book on one of the tables that basically listed all instructions necessary for the home. Is a really nice area and close to shops and restaurants. Home is recently renovated so was very nice, comfortable and more than we can ask for. Perfect size bedroom with a very comfortable bed, big kitchen with everything you need and a wonderful little private back yard enclosed with a barbq grill and garden furniture so quaint for coffee in the morning or dining outside. We have another colleague who will be visiting and we hope this listing will be available at that time for we want to book again! Thank you Barry and Van-Martin for the hospitality and sharing your home with us. We'll be back for sure.

Our sunny "mother in law" apartment is the perfect home base to explore North East LA and beyond. Cool concrete floors, beautiful open layout and stylish furnishings comfortably fits two. Open kitchen, quiet patio, laundry, eco friendly products.
Apart from the cool concrete floors, facing West means amazing light throughout the afternoon and evening, not to mention the sunset! The furnishings add just the right amount of comfort while also feeling clean and fresh. The native landscaping is inviting with many places to sit outside and enjoy the SOCAL weather. It's a great place to relax while exploring our great big city. We've recently added amazing new upgrades including: An outdoor living room, AC/heat, flatscreen tv with WIFI, a full line of organic, earth-friendly bathroom and kitchen products, and a microwave!
Walking distance from our house are all the great shops & restaurants on York & Figueroa Boulevard. We are also a great starting point for an urban hike, there are many open hillsides to gaze at views, watch hawks soar or just ogle homes.
  • We absolutely loved staying here! We spent most of our time out exploring the city so it was quite nice to come back each night to this cozy apartment. It's conveniently tucked away in hip Highland Park which was so fun to get out and explore. Highly recommend staying here!

  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely three-night stay at Lake's gorgeous apartment. Everything was exactly as pictured. The apartment was a calm, quiet spot but is very close to great shopping and food. I especially enjoyed sipping coffee on the patio in the mornings. We briefly met Lake and her family and they were warm and friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

  • "Pasadena Posh" nails it! One of our best (of many) airbnb experiences. Clean to perfection, fabulous space, design, location and generous and attentive hosts. Actually now that I write all that down, maybe this is the best! Quiet street, private entrance, indoor-outdoor living. Hosts provide snacks, wine and breakfast food down to tailoring your choice of milk (in our case almond)! Barry arranged our parking pass and was over in two minutes when we requested some additional supplies.

    Michael2014-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Barry and Van-Martin are two of the loveliest people you will meet. Staying at their ultra swank appt is like staying at a loving friends home. You are lucky if can score a stay here.

    Jacqueline 2015-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place is as nice as described, at least! ... loved the snacks, wine and nice toiletries that greeted us. (This was our third visit!) Great location, great comfortable furnishings, and a peaceful space. We appreciated the air mattress provided for our son, too.

    Hilary2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Both Barry and Van-Martin went out of their way to make us feel welcome during our 12-day stay at Posh Pasadena. Barry greeted us as we arrived, offering to help carry our luggage, and asking us to contact him if we needed anything during our visit. We really lacked nothing; Posh Pasadena is comfortably and beautifully set-up for the most decerning guests. Half-way through our stay, a gorgeous, blooming orchid plant simply appeared in the apartment for us to enjoy! There are two lovely, enclosed patio areas, which I wish it had been warm enough to enjoy; both have gurgling fountains that add to the garden atmosphere. The kitchen has basic equipment, although I was able to prepare a semi-fancy dessert one afternoon using what was provided. Posh Pasadena fit our needs well, and we plan to return.

    Neanna2015-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous property. I felt like we were staying at a bungalow at the Four Seasons. The guest house is very well-appointed, decorated beautifully, and very secluded. What a great place to recharge. It was such a nice treat to have snacks and Prosecco waiting for us, too!

And if that wasn't enough, Kittie & Chris are amazing hosts! The perfect balance of welcoming & giving you privacy. I immediately booked with them as soon as I found out I had to stay longer for work! Believe the prior reviews, this place is awesome!

    Maria 2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed for a long weekend to attend a wedding in Pasadena. Kittie and Chris' place is so cute and exactly as pictured. They were both so accommodating and attentive. When my flight was rescheduled and I arrived at 12:30am Chris was there to greet me and show me the ins and outs of the bungalow, while Kittie was quick to make restaurant recommendations and give other local tips about where to find parking. Chris and Kittie were so welcoming and sweet. I definitely recommend their place and would stay with them again.

    Pia2017-03-27T00:00:00Z

  • We could not have been happier discovering the Blue Moon Bungalow --it is more charming than the pictures, even though the pictures are great. And Kittie was so warm and so generous with her little thoughtful extras (coffee, oj, eggs, bottled water, croissants and welcoming notes!) The place (including the queen bed) is very comfortable. Be sure to have your morning coffee and breakfast in the perfectly lovely private garden...and turn those lights on for your return home after dark. Peaceful and lovely. We will be back.

  • This place was absolutely beautiful. Although we did not get to meet Kittie in person, she was very helpful and responded to our questions very fast.

    Kevin2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kittie is a great host. She was detailed and considerate. The place is amazing. It is such a charming place. The entire experience was exceptional.

    Tzu2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kittie and I were able to conduct business professionally and created another important element which is trust that made it easier for us to develop this friendship on the very first day. The photos were real in life nothing really hidden and all expectations from the advertisement were all fulfilled as I went to see it personally one day. We reached in a win-win agreement about the casa when I told her that I would also use it for my student film thesis. Not only she gave me a student price but more so, she prepared the setting of the case suitable to my genre of the film. Another element that is very impressive of her is that she was able to adjust to my needs for the casa and assured me that everything will be alright and extended all the needed help for our 4 day shoot without any hassle. Her house manager was there always on a standby if any pressing issues that may come and that was I felt comfortable that I am being taken cared of.

  • Casa Luna is beautiful, and Chris and Kittie are even more beautiful! I really felt cared for by them! Lovely home in a great area!

  • We rented this for my in-laws on the weekend of my wedding. From the beginning Kittie was amazing at communicating - she has a great energy about her! She wasn't able to meet us to check in, but her son was there and he was great at showing us all around! There was even a basket of snacks as a welcome, which was amazing! My in-laws loved it there!

    Jin2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was really great experience to staying at the house. It looks beautiful and unique that I have never seen among the house that I have stayed from Airbnb. Kittie was nice and warm and it was easy to communicate with her. She did answer quickly to whenever I had questions. It was great experience in Los angeles thanks to her !

  • A wonderful place! Lesley and Ned were great hosts - super responsive and helpful.

    Reuben2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing stay! Lesley and Ned were perfect hosts, beyond accommodating in every way imaginable, and the cottage is so stunning in all aspects. Great facilities, cozy bed and TV/sound system, lovely pool area to lounge around... There is no doubt that they have put so much effort to ensuring guests have the best stay possible, I give them my highest recommendations :)

    Vanessa2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Cottage was clean, updated, and cozy. The massive projector with surround sound was a bonus we were not expecting! A little Pasadena Paradise! The communication for checking in was very easy to follow and I had no questions. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Raechel2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Seriously one of the most perfect spots I've ever stayed in. We should start with the propert...perfectly landscaped, with that pool right off the door to the guest house, the fresh tomatoes growing in old wine casks...gorgeous. The unit itself is perfection. The open floor plan creates a feeling of tremendous space. The bathroom is perfect, as are the furnishings inside the main space. The drop down (URL HIDDEN) cool. The kitchen is fully equipped. I could go on. It's so peaceful back there. You have easy access to LA and Pasadena while feeling like you're in a secluded town on the central coast. I could recommend this more highly.

    Joshua2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lesley and Ned were great hosts. The place was even more amazing than it looks in the photos. The central location made it perfect for our much needed vacation. The perfect place for a relaxing retreat or to explore the city.

    James2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was probably our best Air BnB experience to date. "Sanctuary" is completely accurate, and it's not a "room" so much as a private bungalow in a great central location. Immaculately decorated and maintained, every detail has been addressed, from modern shower features to the rustic barn/garage doors. Round it off with vaulted ceilings and an ingenious murphy bed design, and you've got a great place to stay. Then there's the pool and fire pit, both of which were so luxurious and inviting that we didn't really feel that motivated to see anything else in Pasadena (we did, of course, and Pasadena is great!). Seriously, where else are you going to get a private fire pit AND lap pool! Ned and Lesley were superb hosts, very knowledgable about the town and SoCal in general, and they were ready to cater to any needs we might have had (we didn't- everything was perfect). Enjoy an evening in Pasadena, have a night cap by the fire pit, and before you retire, indulge in a good movie with the cinema experience they've created in the room. We will definitely be back!

    Trent 2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful and coupled with the lovely pool makes for a quiet, peaceful stay. Lesley and Ned were great hosts pointing out the cool features of the cottage such as the movie screen, shades for ceiling lights and scented air freshener as well as arranging for parking. The furnishings are high quality from the bedding to the kitchen and bathroom. Their location is ideal, basically 45 minutes from Santa Monica beach or 30 minutes to the Dodgers or 10 minutes to Pasadena. The hosts are welcoming, friendly and interesting to talk to.

    Mark2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • To say that my stay at the Corsey Cottage was amazing would be an understatement. The cottage itself is beautiful, and Lesley and Ned were the perfect hosts. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

My neighborhood is close to everything. You could walk/metro to any place in LA. Pasadena is a beautiful and quaint part of LA County. Not to be missed, especially during the holiday season.
  • Cool host, very helpful and patience with my parents who don't speak English.

  • We had a great time staying at Sergio's apartment. The place was immaculate and Sergio was a great host. I highly recommend this apartment

    Bill2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were impressed with our experience from the moment we approached the front door. It was night, and a lovely globe light had been left on to help us enter the apartment. Sergio had left the air conditioning on just enough to make the space cool and relaxing. The space was spotlessly clean. It was beautifully decorated and well-stocked with so much more than we expected - even sharp knives and ceramic pans. The bedrooms were large, and the beds were so comfortable. Sergio was charming, and responding immediately to any questions we had. The area felt safe and quite, and was conveniently located. We would definitely stay again!

    Patricia2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • I recently stayed at Sergio's place as I was attending a conference at CalTech. Sergio was very attentive and took care of any problems that arose during my stay. Sergio's place is comfortable, well stocked and situated. Check-in was very easy. I would certainly recommend this place.

Year-long remodel restored the charm to this 1922 craftsman bungalow on quiet street. Central heat and air, washer, dryer, king bedroom, queen bedroom, and pullout sofa. 5 min walk Elysian Park and Valerie Tea House
Our place will comfortably fit two couples or a family of four. We've got a king bed, a queen bed, and a couch that folds into a full bed. There is a small office that you can use for work or we can rearrange it with a pack and play for a baby or a cot for a toddler. We also have a detached 120 square foot cottage with fold-out bed that we can rent to you at an extra charge if you need a little more space. After an extensive remodel, the house is essentially brand new with central heat and air, washer and dryer, wifi, Roku, dishwasher, great kitchen for cooking, and a deep bathtub for soaking. You can borrow beach stuff, iron and ironing board, and charcoal grill if you need them. Just ask.
We are located in a quieter part of Echo Park with good coffeeshops and restaurants near Silver Lake, Downtown, Los Feliz, and Highland Park. We have two beautiful parks (Elysian and Echo Park) and dramatic hills which make for great walking.
  • Very nice place to stay to visit LA. It was a great location with so much to do nearby. The description was very accurate and I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Anup2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful bungalow! Incredibly comfortable for 4 people in an ideal location in Echo Park. We loved walking up the steps to Elysian park, sitting at the coffee shop, and catching the bus down on Sunset. The kitchen has everything you need to cook full meals (which we did!), the beds are super comfy, and the bathroom is gorgeous.

  • Jennifer ensured a great stay in a great place. The bungalow was guest-ready as soon as we arrived and our host was communicative when we had questions. Keep up the good work!

    Elmer2015-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was prompt in responses for booking and a great host! My husbands colleagues loved her place and said it was really neat inside--updated with character and style! We will definitely use her place again if possible!

  • We had a great time staying at this place. It's in a great location in Echo Park. Jennifer and family were great hosts and very responsive to messages. The house was really well done and looked like everything had been recently refurbished. Overall, I highly recommend this listing.

  • We LOVED our stay here in Echo Park. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay with such fantastic hosts! The house was lovely, decorated perfectly and the beds were so soft. Jennifer and her family were helpful, kinds and accommodating and we would loooove to come back and stay again the future :) Thanks guys!

    Jessica2015-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer made us feel very welcome and responded promptly to our numerous questions prior to and during our trip. Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay at her echo park bungalow. The bungalow is as-described: we traveled as a party of 3 adults and 2 toddlers, and it was enough space for us. We set up our 2 toddlers in a small office (it was tight, but Jennifer explained this ahead of time and went out of her way to adapt to our party's size), and the adults used the two bedrooms. The bungalow is really nice and appears to have been very recently renovated. Everything was clean and stylish, and super kid friendly! There's a shared outdoor space and the common area/kitchen is open, making the space feel bigger than it is. The neighborhood is super cute. There is a great coffee shop within walking distance, and countless stores and sites within a short drive. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend this home without reservation. Happy traveling!

As you step into this 1956 mid-century home, you'll immediately fall in love with the deck's view! The home is styled with a blend of Art Deco meets Mad Men. Tucked up in the hills, this home is cozy relaxing space to return to during your travels.
Minimal furnitures, and lots of vintage pieces to give the space character. It's a fusion of atomic colors and industrial pieces combined with Art Deco flair . Open and spacious. Cork flooring in the kitchen, and hard wood flooring for the rest of the house. One side of the house is entirely of glass windows to enjoy the deck view. Anyone with an artistic eye would love this space!
My home is near the top of a hillside, with spectacular sunsets, and the stars are out at night. Just down below, there are infinite selection of Chinese and other Asian cuisines available where you can always find restaurants with late hours.
  • Sharlene is a amazing host and she made me feel at home. Everything was laid out perfect and she explained everything in detail. The house and the neighbourhood was great and easily accesible. I would always like to stay at her apartment whenever I am in Los Angeles and would strongly recommend this to all members who are planning to visit LA.

    JOJO2016-05-01T00:00:00Z

  • The best place I ever have. Six start !

    XUN2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sharlene's place is close proximity to Los Angeles, right next to the highway which was very convenient. Her home was tidy and clean. She offered refreshments to her guest and had great communication. The room was clean but a bit on the hotter side. At night the balcony doors are open which feels real nice in the living room but the guest room where we stayed it was probably 10 degrees hotter even with the fan going. If you are used to sleeping in cooler temperatures (70-72) then I would not recommend this place. Overall everything else was great.

    Linda2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxed house, nice interior, amazing host: good place to be!

    Michael2017-09-06T00:00:00Z

  • I stayed here six nights, and had a wonderful experience. Both the residents (hosts) and guests on the premises were polite and respectful and just the perfect amount of interaction. A wonderful private studio right off the pool. Stay and enjoy, and the location is convenient so you can get anywhere easily. The resident boxer is a wonderful pup as well.

    Clark2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical. Alex and Dennis have created a place that comes close to paradise! We could not get enough from the great views, hanging around the beautifully and comfortably arranged pool house and pool and exploring LA from this perfectly situated location. I can recommend this place and Alex and Dennis as hosts 100%. You will never want to leave. We will definitely come back!

  • This is so much more than a 'private pool house', it is a haven of relaxation, a beautifully furnished, ultra modern escape from life's constant chattering. Each space - internally and externally - possesses a personality, something unique, something to admire and enjoy. Comfort, cleanliness and modernity coexist seamlessly, creating an environment unlike no other. Each space offers luxuries and extras that go beyond simply hosting, making your stay that more pleasurable, ensuring that initial smile remains throughout. The vistas on offer have to be experienced. Mere words will not suffice. The feeling of seclusion and safety, from entering the gate and parking in your private space, remains throughout your stay, such is the ideal isolation on offer. Dennis and Alex, your thoughtful and generous hosts, ensure excellent communication and guest satisfaction, achieved without impinging on your privacy or space. We were blessed to have found such a hideaway. This is Airbnb at its very best

    Geoffrey2016-07-10T00:00:00Z

This quirky Highland Park guest house with private entrance is just 2 blocks from the heart of the street that Conde Nast calls "The Coolest Street in Los Angeles", yet it's nestled in a quiet and secluded backyard designed by a TV show, featuring an outdoor bar and chickens!
The most charming part about the space is the backyard, a quiet oasis with lots of little nooks for eating, drinking, reading, and relaxing. The guest house itself is a modest 400SF with a full bathroom and a galley kitchenette. The "bedroom" (it doesn't have a door) is small and cozy with a double bed. The main room has a pull out sofa (firm foam queen size). There are space heaters for the winter and a couple of fans and a portable AC unit for the summer.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Our little pocket of Highland Park is a very safe, residential area within walking distance to many attractions: Within a 5 minute walk, you can get to some of LA's best restaurants, bars, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, a playground, art galleries, record shops, vintage clothing stores, book stores, and even a "make-your-own donut" shop. Occidental College is also within walking distance (1.5 blocks to the edge of campus). And in 10 minutes, you can walk up the hill behind the house and see 360 degree views of the area, including sometimes as far as the ocean and Catalina Island!
  • Sara and Kevin were on the ball as soon as wanted to stay at their location. Sara reached out to me on several occasions to confirm and to make sure everything was up - to - date and for me I like that because as a new person to this it made me feel more comfortable and confident in going this route versus a hotel. Their listing was accurate and the neighborhood was great! ! We enjoyed it very much! ! We also enjoyed listening to their cd the two of them made, lots of fun!! Thank you again!!

    Genevieve2014-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was very cozy and private! Sara was friendly and easy to reach. The neighborhood has a surprising amount of good local spots (of which they have made a nice list for visitors), considering how suburban and quiet it feels at night. The chickens are marvelous!

    Cimara2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sara and Kevin made checking in very easy. The place is exactly as described... a very nice, comfortable back yard, and a great neighborhood, easily within walking distance. The actual unit is comfortable but bare bones, with what looked like salvaged furniture. It does get hot in the daytime, but cools down easily at night, as described. The chickens are great -- lovely and actually very quiet, however I had kind of a rude awakening by some gardeners with their gas blowers right next to the window early in the morning. It was very nice to see a coffeemaker and coffee.

    Ryan2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sara and Kevin's house was amazing. It's conveniently located in the middle of highland park, just two blocks from York. Everything that I could want or need was all within walking distance. The property itself was magical. The outdoor patio was a good reading nook and an awesome get together spot for my friends and I. Overall, I loved it.

    Elizabeth2013-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time staying at Sara and Kevin's Guesthouse recently! Although, we did not spend a ton of time there (out exploring LA) it was so lovely to come back to such a quaint and private place. Their backyard is absolutely AMAZING, if it had not been a little bit chilly that weekend I probably would have just spent the whole trip sitting out there. The location of their house is also terrific. It is literally a 2 minute walk to the main drag of Highland Park. It was awesome walking down their and visiting some of the cool shops and restaurants in the area. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and definitely hope to be back one day. Thanks Sara and Kevin!

    Deandra2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Simply delightful! Cozy spot in a great area with lots to do. Sara is warm and attentive. Chickens a plus! Recommend highly.

  • We never had the chance to meet with Sara or Kevin but loved staying in their guest house. It was clean & comfortable. Perfect for our needs. Friendly chickens & great yard to hang out in. We loved the neighborhood and felt safe walking around with our 6 yr old. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.

Studio apartment in hillside Eagle Rock home. So close to all that Southern California has to offer, yet we feel like we're a million miles away... Minutes to Old Town Pasadena, Glendale, Hollywood, and downtown Los Angeles, with all the sites these areas have to offer. Fantastic views of the mountains and foothills; we even have a view of the "Rock" (Eagle Rock)! We're surrounded by huge pine trees and lush growth everywhere you look. This is an extremely quiet place... we're into meditation, and we jokingly call our home "The monastery". But those that want to live it up a little are absolutely welcome as well! We have a 3 story Mid-Century modern home, with the first level serving as our guest unit. Your entry is very private and separate from the house. You'll have your own private deck, a living room with flat screen TV, a studio style sleeping/kitchen area, and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Lots of street parking right in front of our home... no permits required! Easy access to freeways and public transportation make getting around a breeze. The kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave (no stove), toaster-oven, coffee maker, water-cooker and counter with a sink. We also have guest-suite with a private bedroom and bath - "Beautiful Eagle Rock Views" listed here in Airbnb.
  • Jerry & Chiu were not only fantastic hosts, but their studio was absolutely perfect. This was our first Airbnb experience, and I believe they set the bar very, very high! A wonder array of welcoming touches made our stay very special in addition to the super comfortable bed and delightful pool. Staying at this peaceful studio in the pines will be our first choice whenever we need to be near Eagle Rock. A true treat!

  • Jerry is tbe perfect AirBNB host, be was incredibly quick to respond to my questions, super welcoming and made me feel right at home, the apartment is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. If I come back to LA, I will definitely try to stay here again!

  • Everything was in line with expectations: welfare, great view, very welcome and geniale pool! Jerry and Chiu were very good hosts. Nothing more to say I highly recommend to visit LA in peace.

  • My folks were actually the ones who stayed in the apartment so here is what my mom as to say: This apartment exceeded even our great expectations in being especially comfortable. The location in Eagle Rock was perfect in terms of our preferences for proximity to family and friends. When we arrived at the apartment, I was immediately struck by the attractive furnishings that provide a balance in terms of softness and splashes of color. Jerry, a very cordial host and owner, provided a “tour” of the apartment and invited us to partake of the coffee, tea, snacks, and breakfast food that he graciously provided. The view from the windows and balcony is spectacular, and the parking was easy. As university professors, we are accustomed to providing grades, and we would assign an A+ to Jerry and his attractive and comfortable apartment. We look forward to returning on future LA visits. Thanks so much, Jerry, for taking such good care of my parents!

  • This is a beautiful little apartment with great views and lots of privacy. I would definitely stay here again: comfortable bed, clean and spacious bathroom, beautiful views. Jerry and Chiu were very accommodating, hospitable, and excellent about communication. I look forward to staying here again next time I'm in LA!

  • This was our first experience with airbnb.com and we were hoping that this would be all it was said to be. All my wife and I can say is that Jerrys' place was fantastic!! It was just as, if not better than stated. Beautiful view, comfortable, quiet, and a great deal. Jerry was a great host and even had the place stocked with some goodies that we really appreciated like coffee, bagels, fruit, candy, OJ, and more. The pool was an additional perk that we loved using. This place is in a great location and was within a half hour drive to many of the places we wanted to go to like Griffith Park, Forest Lawn, the Rose Bowl, LAX, Beaches, Hollywood, and The Getty Museum. Just want to say Thank You Jerry. We hope you will have an opening the next time we visit LA.

    Garry2014-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jerry was an excellent host! We arrived while they were out, but he gave us the key number so we could let ourselves in. They came to check in on us as soon as they were home and made us feel welcome and very comfortable! Great space, too!

Free standing guesthouse with private entrance in Elysian Heights. Clean and airy with lots of light. Indoor and outdoor space balanced by an open kitchen that leads to private deck / pebble garden, surrounded by lush plants. Our guest house is not lived in by somebody else and is a free standing building with no shared walls. We take pride in its simplicity. The queen bed is super comfy, firm but supple with temperpedic top layer. The kitchen is includes stainless steel appliances, quality cookware, dishware, toaster, complimentary small batch coffee and a variety of teas along with essentials like olive oil, sea salt and pepper. And if you need additional cooking tools we're well stocked next door and happy to share! Flatscreen HDTV with cable (supports netflix, amazon, etc.). Modern high capacity washer and dryer reserved exclusively for guests. If you're looking for your own spacious, private garden the setup is ideal. The outdoor space is slightly larger than the guest house. The deck is bordered by lights on a dimmer, which makes for great ambience after sunset. Large cacti, mature yucca and cypress trees, jasmine and potted plants/herbs surround the outdoor space. The deck is also cut around a tree which offers a canopy of shade in the warmer months. Enjoy afternoon naps in the hammock tucked under the apricot tree. We provide clean towels, soaps, a hair dryer, iron, yoga mats, new scanner/printer, an acoustic guitar and a small Weber charcoal grill. We also offer hi-speed wifi via Apple's airport express router. You can also stream music wirelessly from your laptop to a 70's era Marantz amp (or plug-in your iPhone/iPod directly). Traveling with children? We have a pack n play and some toys/books you are welcome to use. We also have a spare mattress. While the space is ideally suited for two people, several small families have enjoyed a comfortable stay. Feel free to inquire. Guests have their own private entrance from the street. The outdoor space is also for guest use only (not shared). We really enjoy meeting new people and making them feel at home. We are also totally cool with giving our guests all the privacy they need. The location is ideal for Echo Park. We're nestled up in the canyon which gives a secluded feel but not way up a steep hill or at the end of the neighborhood, so walking to cafes and restaurants is still easy. The dash bus stop is a minute walk away. There is excellent coffee around the corner (Fix Coffee) and Elysian Park (the oldest and second largest park in LA) is just up the Baxter stairs. Restaurants, cafes, bars, a yoga center and pilates studio, mom and pop shops, a gourmet boutique grocery market, a record store and music venues are within walking distance too. Echo Park is funky and charming with historic architecture and a hillside landscape, carved up by walking paths and hidden stairways. The wooded hillsides make the northern edge of the neighborhood feel like an extension of Elysian Park, despite being located in the heart of Los Angeles. The Dash bus is less than a minute from the front door (which will take you down to Sunset Blvd in 3 minutes). Silver Lake is our next door neighbor. Downtown is 5 minutes by car. The 2, 5, 101 and 110 freeways are all super close. Other nearby neighborhoods include Los Feliz, Atwater Village, Chinatown, East Hollywood, Hollywood, Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Glendale, Burbank and Pasadena, which are all between 5 and 15 minutes away by car. LAX is 25 to 30 minutes, longer at rush hour of course. We reserve our space for travelers and guests looking for a slice of home away from home. If you're looking to rent our space for film shoots and other commercial endeavors we're not interested. We try our best to accommodate early checkins and late checkouts, but this is rarely possible when we have guests arriving and departing on the same day. Feel free to inquire, otherwise checkin time is 3 pm (or anytime thereafter) and checkout is 11 am.
  • This is a charming and private getaway — just as lovely as pictured in the photographs. My husband and I stayed here for an entire month and loved it. Patrick & Sidonie’s guesthouse is modern, clean, charming, and located in a wonderful neighborhood. The private, front-door entrance & secluded outdoor space made this feel like our very own home-away-from-home. The wifi connection was strong & stable (we both work remotely, so internet access is essential for us). A dedicated washer & dryer and plentiful street parking are key conveniences for a longer-term stay. The bed is especially comfortable, showers are hot with great water pressure, and the kitchen is small but fully functional for preparing simple meals. The outdoor deck is beautifully landscaped, private, and inviting. The location is a perfect jumping off point to explore Echo Park, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Atwater Village and downtown LA. Bonus! There is also a ton of great, inexpensive food in the area — Guisado’s Tacos, Silverlake Ramen, and Fix Coffee around the corner were all standouts. Patrick and Sidonie are the perfect hosts — very respectful of privacy, but super responsive to any issues or questions. When the dryer heating coil stopped working one weekend, Patrick had it replaced with a brand new dryer the very next day. We will definitely be staying here again next time we visit LA. Thank you so much, Patrick & Sidonie!

  • A really excellent place to stay! Good location, really nice outdoor space, and extremely responsive hosts.

  • I had a wonderful time staying here. Patrick and Sidonie were great hosts, they welcomed me with a very generous gift and made me feel right at home. They were easy to contact and responded promptly. The location is brilliant and the place is lovely. 5 stars for sure. thanks guys!

    Sean2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great space - Patrick and Sidonie made it very easy to get the keys, check in and leaving was a breeze. There is a great park to walk in that is very close. Patrick was very responsive to all my emails.

  • I love this apartment because the wonderful kitchen with almost all seasonings. As well as the comfortable mattress, the host prepared a mattress for kids in advance. Also thanks for the welcome wine and fruits, more importantly, Sidonie helped us communicate with the car rental company since our car got low tier pressure. The pity is that we didn't have time on the neck and BBQ. Parking has never been a problem there, even we came back at 9:00 pm. Absolutely recommend this place and I will stay when I visit Los Angeles again.

    Ying2014-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Love love love this place! We stayed here for 5 days while in LA apartment hunting and it was such a nice serene space to come back to after a long hectic day. Being able to open the big double doors onto the deck really doubles the space and makes it seem even more airy and bright. Patrick and Sidonie were wonderful hosts and even gave us great suggestions for places to eat and check out in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Heather2013-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • First time in LA, so romantic place ! Really nice little house, very clean, perfectly designed with taste and simplicity. Echo Park is calm around but not very far away from good bars, coffee and restaurant. And mostly, Sidonie and Patrick are really really cool and very ready to help ! That was a very good stay. Hope to come again !

    Marie2013-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick and Sidonie were friendly and warm from our first encounter onward. We only met in person when I was checking out, since it was a stand-alone apartment and not a shared space, but they already felt like friends, and this seems the essence of what Airbnb is about. Not a hotel-like feel, but like honest, well-intentioned neighbors who simply have a nice space vacant that they'd like to offer to those who need it. The price point is not worth giving a second thought to because you ARE getting what you're paying for: the photos are accurate (a bright, airy, spotless, well-appointed space) and their description is spot on. It is private and safe, easy to navigate the area and the apartment itself. Parking was a breeze and I didn't fear break-ins at all. Coffee and other amenities are walkable, but you also have what you need in the apartment for coffee in the morning. I didn't stay long enough to spend time in the yard but I wish I did because it's beautiful. The absolute only hesitation I have in writing a glowing review is that their place will be booked up and I won't get to stay there again! Thanks, Patrick and Sidonie, for a lovely experience, and for being great people. Please treat their home with the respect that it deserves because they obviously put a lot of love into it.

  • We loved our stay at The Crow's Nest. Lisa & Aaron were warm and welcoming and always quick to answer any questions. The Crow's Nest was cozy, very clean and private. The bed was comfy, the kitchen had everything you might need and the best part was the record player! Oh, the deck with the amazing view was pretty great as well. We enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood by foot (lots of places to eat and shop) and it was close to Universal, Sunset Blvd etc (by car). We would go back for sure!

  • Lisa and Aaron were the perfect hosts. They made themselves very available without being imposing. They clearly love where they live and find joy in helping those that stay with them find the best parts of their neighborhood. The space is an Urban Cabin indeed and was cozy and lovely and the outdoor space is definitely the highlight. Morning coffee and evening cocktails are almost required by default. This was BY FAR my favorite Airbnb rental EVER. Thank you for sharing your amazing place! I can't wait to come back!

  • We had a brief but awesome stay at Lisa and Aaron's place. The cabin was super cute and super clean. It was near a lot of good food places. We unfortunately couldn't try them all but we walked by a few. Donut friend looked amazing and so did town pizza. We ended up going to the ramen place which was really good. Lisa recommended for us to check out highland park bowl. It's a definite must see. They have really good cocktails too. Thanks Lisa and Aaron. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely come back again!

    Fatima2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about our short stay at the Crow's Nest in Highland Park...Lisa and Aaron have created a gorgeous, relaxing hideaway in a fun neighbourhood and it was a real pleasure to stay here in their cosy cabin. Everything you need whilst away from home is provided.. And more! Loads of finishing touches which really made our stay special... the Beatles Abbey Road on vinyl is one of my favourites and now will always remind me of the splendid view across Highland Park to the mountains - thank you for everything!

When a friend is thinking of moving to Los Angeles, people make sure to bring them to my house. The yurt is the most compelling part of the conversion experience. Nestled among 30 fruit trees on a half-acre lot, it's classic bohemian California.
Staying in the yurt is definitely "glamping" (a more luxurious version of camping). If you usually like to stay at the Marriott, this rustic spot may not be right for you. Once inside, you wouldn't guess that you're only a few miles from Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles. A yurt is the Mongolian version of a teepee, invented by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. Unlike the traditional version, this yurt sits on a raised platform with hardwood floors, windows, and modern amenities. The circular room is 16 feet in diameter, and the conical roof has a skylight directly over the bed. The setting is a rural oasis in the middle of the city: the yurt sits on a half-acre lot which it shares with a 1920's farm house (where I live), a little red barn (which is also on Airbnb), and a little mobile chicken coop (where our chicken lives). Sitting by the antique wood-burning stove, you can occasionally hear a train go by. There are several hammocks hung around the yard and a firepit that's great for campfire sing-alongs. Just outside the yurt are some mature fig trees, a lemon tree, an avocado tree, and an orange tree (to name a few). Ten steps across the yard is the outdoor bathroom with a toilet, sink and outdoor shower. You stand on rocks from the LA river beneath a giant "raincan" shower head that is big enough for two. Above you are tree branches and the sky. The tankless water heater allows infinitely long hot showers. PET OWNERS: I love pets (especially dogs)! If you are bringing one, please select "additional guest" when you book and do a little extra cleanup afterwards. PHOTOGRAPHERS: I love having photoshoots in the yurt, but it will be a separate fee. Just ask!
Glassell Park is a sleepy gem of a neighborhood about three miles from Silver Lake and Echo Park, four miles from downtown, and four miles from Hollywood. It's part of a vast, hilly, residential area that includes Eagle Rock, Mount Washington, Highland Park, and South Pasadena. If you head northeast, you can wander for hours through the narrow winding streets without hitting a freeway. It's in the process of gentrification, but is still extremely diverse, with lots of authentic Mexican and Salvadoran food. There are some awesome bars (Verdugo Bar and Los Candiles), and one of the best brunch places in L.A. (Lemon Poppy Kitchen). There are several great parks. Elyria Canyon has some short, beautiful hikes. Rio Los Angeles and Glassell Park Recreation center have tennis and basketball courts, an outdoor pool (open year-round), soccer, baseball fields. One of the most beautiful spots in the neighborhood is the L.A. river, which in the section closest to us is still wild. It has truly great bird-watching, a ten mile bike path, and just this year opened for kayaking! Griffith Park and Elysian park are also just across the river. If you aren't familiar with L.A., the East Side (where we are) has really been blossoming lately, with downtown, Silverlake, Echo Park and Highland Park dominating on the nightlife and foodie fronts.
  • The yurt was amazing! Even though it is nestled in the middle of LA, being there made me feel like I was in the middle of the forest. It was a beautiful space to roam around and hang out. The outside shower was the best on a hot day. Even though we didn't meet Carrick until the very end he was super nice and greeted us like we knew one another for a long time. He also made himself available for anything that we needed. Thanks for having such a safe space to go to and relax, we loved it! -Carla :)

    Carla2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in the yurt. The listing and other reviews are accurate. It was a peaceful stay and the bed was very comfortable. There is a lot of neighborhood noise but it was constant enough to lull me to sleep... others may want earplugs. It was hot during the day but cooled down quick at night with the screened windows. The yard is not as private from the sidewalk or neighbors as I expected but it was fine. The bathroom (with a regular flush toilet) was rustic but clean. For the right people with a sense of adventure it is an amazing place and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

    Jessica2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was magical!

    Diederik2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time at the yurt! The place was super clean, the bed was very comfortable, and we loved the outdoor shower (it's much better then our shower at home even). With the fans on and the windows open it stays cool and breezy during the heat, and warms up well in the nighttime. There's plenty of places to lounge around in the sun, beautiful canyon views, and we definitely recommend walking down for breakfast or lunch at the nearby Lemon Poppy Kitchen. We also found the neighborhood to be very conveniently located to freeways to get around town. It's only about a 30 minute drive to Santa Monica and the Getty, and even closer to the Griffith Observatory and Silver Lake area. We'd definitely stay here again!

    Margaret2014-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt may not be for everyone but we loved it: cozy, unique, comfy bed, even a vintage Wurlitzer. We didn't get to meet Carrick but he was friendly and responsive. The outhouse (with running water) and outdoor shower remind you that it is glamping as advertised but it's far from roughing it. And the price is right. We'd definitely do it again. Only possible drawback is that it's in a "developing" area of East LA and you need to drive for good eats/walks.

    Jason2015-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was comfortable and clean, and the yard was spacious so the dogs we had with us could explore. We used the lovely fire pit to entertain a couple guests. A very relaxing place to stay!

    Logan2016-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is a magical, cozy, comfortable & amazing place to stay! You feel like you're living in the country, when really you're right in the city, you're close to bookstores, coffee shops etc, and not more than an 15 minute drive to lots of the coolest bits of LA. This place was a DREAM, I would live in that yurt for a million years if I could.

  • When I first arrived Richard was there to greet me. He was warm and inviting. I met Jan unfortunately, my last day only because my schedule was so full, and I found Jan to be just as down to earth as Richard. We were all able to chit chat before I departed and I was sorry for having to leave because they are both such fun and interesting people. I will come back when visiting my family and stay at their cottage. You won't be disappointed....

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the private cottage. The space was perfect for what we wanted, something cozy, clean, and close to a metro line. Richard thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible and we felt right at home. Every morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and some great conversation. I'm so happy with my experience, we even tried to extend our stay, but unfortunately, he was booked through the end of the week. We hope to be back soon.

  • Richard and Jan’s BNB, a wonderfully magical place. The hosts were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the South Pasadena area, and helpful in navigating the drive to Los Angeles. The room/cabin was private and cheerful, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room had lots of nice touches, with fruit, beverages and snacks, as well as a beautiful private garden area with outdoor furnishings to relax in the shade with a cold drink or have your meals. They really go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. We stayed a week and a half| and wished we could have stayed longer. We will try to book this place again whenever we are in the area! 5 stars!

  • Let me put it up front: I liked everything about this place. The lodging, location and hosts are highly recommended. First, the guest house is small but the most efficient I have stayed in. The owners thought of all kinds of ways to make this space live far bigger than it actually was. The location is ideal with restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and a park within walking distance. And the hosts were just great people. They really enjoy making guests feel welcome and i sure did. I wish I could think of ways in which they could improve but I can't . It was a wonderful week at their guest house, just got home tonight, and I want to go back. Thanks Jan and Richard for everything. WB WB

  • Our hosts, Richard and Jan, were very warm, helpful, generous and welcoming. They really made us fell like home! My boyfriend and I have stayed in this beautiful cottage for three months and really, really loved it!!! We had the most wonderful backyard and Richard and Jan haven't forgot anything in this little cottage, everything we needed to use was there. Perfect location in South Pasadena, with supermarkets, restaurants, local business and Metro Gold Line all within 10 minutes walk. With the Metro we were really well connected from downtown L.A. and old town Pasadena, since we didn't have a car. I cannot encourage you more to book this cottage. We will be coming back soon!!!

  • Richard and his wife are so kindly. They waited for us till the midnight and provide many drinks, snacks, fruits and detail room guide to us. We like the room and the cute rabbit, the beautiful yard. What's a pity we didn't meet the dog and pig. Hope we can stay long time next time.

    jun2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed in Richard and Jan's cottage for over two months this summer. We were immediately made to feel welcome, given bikes to borrow for the summer, and provided with the utmost hospitality...right down to fresh scones, croissants, and fruit salad some mornings!! Both Richard and Jan were very available should we need them, but they also were very respectful of our privacy. The cottage is small but well equipped with everything you need, and the bed is extremely comfortable. The semi-private yard that includes a grill and eating area for guests was an absolute treat, and we will truly miss having coffee and breakfast under the fruit trees in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Marshall family and sharing a few meals with them, and we cannot recommend this host enough!

    Maureen2014-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say, Jan and Richard are remarkable hosts who'll make you feel like you have known them for years the moment you meet them. They are an adorable couple who personify hospitality, good humor and geniality. I stayed here for 4 months during my transition to a new job in LA and the cottage was my place of refuge. The place is immaculate and well stocked with everything you need. Jan's weekly housekeeping and laundry service were especially appreciated by a busy professional like myself. Jan and Richard will happily interact with you (especially over a glass of wine!) but also respect your privacy at all times. I can not recommend this place enough. In fact, my wonderful stay here compelled me to buy a home and settle in South Pasadena! I feel truly lucky to have met them and I look forward to continuing our friendship.

  • This was my first Airbnb experience and Debra had set the bar very high. I absolutely loved her treehouse and she was a great host though we never got to meet each other, as she'd gone away before I arrived. The house was immaculate and the views reminded me of the hills in Tuscany. (The pictures didn't do justice to the lovely views and her pretty gardens.) I felt positively spoiled staying at her house all by myself. I didn't have a car but Uber was quick and inexpensive. I would love to stay at her place again in future visits to LA.

    Lana2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Debra's tree house is way way better than any hotel I've been in. She is super helpful and kind. Best place in South Pasadena hands down.

    Ricardo2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Debra is a wonderful Host, the rooms are very comfortable and everything one needs is provided. The area is a beautiful hill top view. Was nice to stay there and I will go back if I need a room in the area again.

  • I had a great stay with Deb. The neighborhood is really charming and the views are beautiful. The space is clean as a whistle and well appointed. Very comfortable. Deb was very friendly and welcoming.

  • It was a beautiful place. Parking???? actually parking was perfect it was the streets driving, a bit scary. Loved it though

    Kathleen2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • On our arrival Debra was there to greet us and showed us around the Treehouse. Debra was a friendly, efficient host and everything we could have needed during our stay was provided. The treehouse matched the online description and was well presented and clean. A highlight for us was enjoying meals on the terrace with the picturesque view. We found South Pasadena to be a peaceful neighbourhood with a good variety of shops and cafes nearby, as well easy access to the Metro.

    Sarah2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Debra and her space is fantastic! The place is clean, well designed and spacious. Water, coffee, tea & everything needed was provided. It's a well thought out guesthouse, plenty of clean towels and it even has a stapler provided. The whole experience was great!

    Sam2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse is my "home away from home." Nestled in the hills in a lovely area, the Treehouse was perfect! The free WiFi allowed me to connect for business, and the HDTV, microwave oven, delicious coffee, made me feel completely at home. I could not have asked for a more gracious host. Debra was always available -- in person, or by text -- to answer questions. The accommodations are private, safe and secure. Oh, and the bed is super comfortable. The rooms were immaculate and the setting is flat-out gorgeous! My only hope is that it will be available the next time I visit Pasadena. Thank you, Debra, for another (second time) great stay,

Homey place in a really homey neighborhood! South Pasadena is a very residential and quiet area that is extremely convenient to Pasadena, downtown LA, Echo Park, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Glendale/Burbank, and several other hip neighborhoods. The apartment is within walking distance to the Gold Line and there is ample street parking in front of the building. This is a small building with only 10 units. I am in and out during the day and often work evenings.
I have home gym equipment that is available to guests. The living room TV has Netflix, ABC, Amazon Prime, and an antenna that has basic channels. I also have an HDMI cord so you can play anything from your laptop or tablet/smart phone. Coffee/tea and filtered water is available at any time.
South Pasadena is a quaint residential neighborhood. Lots of families and it quiets down after about 9. Downtown South Pasadena (by the train station) is a very charming strip with shops and restaurants. The whole area from the apartment to the train station is extremely walkable and fun to hang out in. There is a beautiful park with 2 tennis courts within a 5 minute walk from the apt.

In the heart of highly desirable and safe South Pasadena. This home is located next to our backyard behind where my parents live. This is on the lower level with 2 bedrooms and no living room, but we have setup one of the bedroom as living room with queen size sofa bed, so it can host 4 adults easily.
You will have the entire place to yourself.
South Pasadena is a very safe city. We are located on a bright and wide street in the quite neighborhood of South Pasadena. Our home is 10 minute drive to Rose bowl, great for football games and other events.
  • We had a great stay at Jin's appartment in Pasadena. It is perfect for a family of 4 with 2 children (if they can share the sofa bed). The place is spotless and very well equipped. The neighborhood is very quiet and pleasant, quite close from shops. We had a very warm welcome from Jin's family living in the nearby house and there is a very nice private garden for e.g. breakfast. We would rent this place again without hesitation!

  • The location is great - just a couple of blocks from the Gold Line Metro, so my trips to LA were easy. The studio has a very well equipped kitchen, so making meals was a great option, especially since Trader Joe's is just a short walk. Kristin is a great host; she provided some drinks, fresh fruit and even a great coffee cake!

    Margaret2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kristin and Richard were fantastic hosts! We came to Pasadena for an important family wedding. They helped make our short time together in CA a memorable and relaxing time. We had a BBQ in the charming patio, were able to sleep in (very quiet area) and used the compact but, well arranged space, for three of us to get dressed for the wedding. The studio was very well equipped. There were even a variety of snacks and beverages us for us to enjoy. Every time I though, oh, the studio can't have this item--I would find it it neatly tucked away and available for our use; i.e., extra towels, hair dryer, salad strainer, cork screw...etc.! Just amazing!!

  • We had a wonderful stay while in town for the Rose Parade and our hosts, Kristin and Richard, were very gracious. We selected this studio for its access to the gold line Metro to get to and from Pasadena with ease. Check-in was easy and the accommodations were exactly as described. Upon arrival, we immediately knew our hosts have put attention to details - from the basket of fruits / breakfast items / sodas to the bath robes provided. Thank you, Kristin and Richard, for the visit and allowing us to pin Oklahoma on your map of guests!

    Andrea2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible, beautiful, homey place. It is small, but perfect, and has everything you need. Kristin has thought of every detail. I couldn't rate my stay more highly. On top of that, the location is really ideal: walking distance to great restaurants and coffee, and all that South Pasadena has to offer. Highly recommended.

  • Camry's place is very nicely located in an excellent neighborhood. The private setting of this cottage-styled home made our stay worth enjoying and safe. I stayed with my wife and daughter and we wouldn't hesitate coming back again. Our host was always available and ready to intercede on our behalf.

  • Great place to stay! Very cozy guest house that had everything you could need for a short or long stay. If you are expecting privacy this is not the place for you, there is a queen bed and a twin bed in separate rooms but you must go through one to get to the other and the bathroom is attached to one. There was also a pullout sofa bed that we didn't need to use. Very easy to find would definitely stay again!

Enjoy comfort & privacy in a charming, detached backhouse studio cottage. The bright cottage has 2 extra comfy Queen-sized beds and an ensuite 3/4 bath. Perfect for a single person or couple. Private entrance on gated lot so you can come/go freely.
Our backhouse studio cottage features about 400 square feet of space, cathedral ceilings, has 2 really comfortable Queen-Plus (almost a King size) American Leather Comfort Sleeper Sofa (sleeps better than a lot of regular beds), has a large flatscreen TV (with Apple TV and antenna for free TV but no cable) and media center with access to Netflix and other streaming media services, free Wi-Fi, A/C and heater, ceiling fan, lots of natural light via the windows and skylight, a functional but generally decorative fireplace, low-maintenance carpet, wardrobe armoire, dresser, desk, chairs, lamps, mini-fridge, mini-microwave, Keurig coffee maker, bath towels and bath amenities (soap, conditioning shampoo, lotion, etc.), and a private attached bathroom (sink, stall shower & toilet). There is generally no access to the main house, which means that there is no access to a kitchen or laundry- however (!) there is a mini-fridge and microwave as well as a coin laundromat literally across the street and lots of food options including the Trader Joe's also literally across the street. *Note* We are in the process of adopting a few sweet backyard chickens who may be free ranging around the backyard. The hens are docile and generally keep to themselves and sleep in their cozy coop at night. They can help welcome you to the property!
Charming, safe and super convenient neighborhood, just a few blocks to the Metro Gold Line Train that easily connects you throughout the rest of LA. Steps away from Trader Joe's (literally a 30 second walk!), adjacent to a dry cleaners, across the street from an awesome taco shop (Senor Fish), hair salon and coin laundromat. 7 minute walk to historic downtown Mission Street with quaint shops & restaurants and lovely weekly farmers market every Thursday night! A great walking neighborhood and picturesque Victorian home that has been featured in Hollywood films, TV shows & commercials.

  • Cindy is definitely on the path to being a SUPERHOST. Her cottage is cozy, accurately portrayed and loaded with amenities and conveniences that made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Do NOT forget to buy the overnight parking passes from South Pasadena Police Station, which is a 3 min drive away. Trader Joe's across the street is so convenient -- Cindy is so thoughtful in giving us a $5 gift card at Trader Joe's to buy a treat. My son and I would definitely book with Cindy again next time we want to visit LA.

  • This was my first time experiencing an Airbnb. Andrew and Gabriela made it such a pleasant experience. Andrew kept in touch prior to our stay. This was so appreciated as I didn't know what to expect. We arrived at our private studio behind their lovely home. It was perfect having a place all to ourselves, yet close enough to the hosts if anything was needed. Everything looked clean, crisp and just waiting for us. The bed was very comfortable as we watched Netflix on the big screen TV. Our thoughtful hosts even asked prior to our stay about our wine tastes. Along with a basket of treats, was the bottle of white wine. The refrigerator was stocked cold bottles of sugar cane sodas! The best was the rain shower! It was heavenly! I'm obsessed! We will definitely be back!

  • Woke up the last day feeling like I was leaving home rather than going home. Great hosts and a great place. Would definitely stay again!

  • My husband and I were in town exploring Pasadena and house hunting in the area. Andrew and Gabriela were very welcoming and we felt right at home. The kitchen was well stocked and they were kind enough to leave us some snacks and a bottle of wine. We were very appreciative of their hospitality and highly recommend this studio!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Andew and Gabriella's airbnb for 12 days. This was our first time to stay at airbnb. It was such a wonderful experience of our California trip. The studio was so cute and super clean and have everything that we need. There is a kitchen so that we can cook food. They also kept authentic mexican soda in the fridge for us and the soda tasted sooo good. Andew and Gabriella also prepared us a bottle of wine to welcome us. The bed is so soft and we watch movies on Netflix when we lay down and chill. We love South Pasadena. It is such a beautiful neighbourhood. We will definitely come back.

  • We received a warm welcome from Andrew and Gabriela and felt right at home in the garden studio. The room was quiet, comfortable and well equipped in a beautiful location and safe neighborhood . Great shower and comfortable bed. One of the best Airbnb locations I have used. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Great little spot close to South Pasadena, Rosemead, Irwindale, and the highways leading to LA. Nice big bed and clean living quarters with a safe and quiet neighborhood.
