  • We can only confirm what everyone else is saying that this is fantastic spacious accommodation and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The Hope & Anchor in Hope Cove was shut during our stay due to flooding so we ventured into Salcombe and visited the Victoria Inn. Delicious food and pleasant surroundings

  • My partner and I stayed here for a weekend away and it was just what we needed! We were able to switch off from everything and relax, there were many places to go and explore and it’s only a short drive from the shops. The enclosed garden is great however dogs will be able to get out! We had a lovely weekend and would definitely come back!

  • We had an lovely weekend staying at Sam's place. It is very comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Despite living in Cornwall, the South Hams and East Devon are areas we hadn't visited much, but this weekend enabled us to really explore. Sam communication was excellent, informative and friendly. It's the storm season...! But with better weather / lighter evenings, we would have easily been able to walk to Hope Cove. We would definitely recommend it here.

  • Lovely quiet spot in a beautiful part of Devon only a short drive from Salcombe. The most spectacular coastal walks are easily accessible from The Lair and plenty of places to visit too. The cottage was beautifully clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The super king bed was so comfy. Sam left a lovely bunch of daffodils in the sitting room along with other nice touches. You can even buy lovely pieces of handmade pottery that are displayed in the cottage. The wifi was a bit intermittent but we did manage to connect iPhones and an iPad to the wifi. There was no mobile phone signal for our phones but that might not apply to all networks. We would definitely go back to Sam's place.

  • Had a lovely stay! Beautiful location and the house was exactly like the pictures, great comfortable space! Was able to bring my dog along too which was amazing. Note there is absolutely no signal anywhere around so grab the WiFi code before coming. Hopefully will return again!

    Iris2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly relaxing place, very peaceful and beautiful scenery. The house was very comfortable, especially the bed and sofas! Thoroughly recommended and would definitely stay again!

    Jo2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Lair is in a beautiful and rural part of Devon, yet not totally isolated. The property is well equipped, fantastically cleaned, homely and well decorated- something which is more difficult to find when looking for a place that accepts dogs too! Value for money is excellent as you get a lot of space both outside and inside all to yourself! Communication prior to our visit and check-in couldn’t have been any smoother. We were left to ourselves, yet, it was reassuring to know that help/advice was only around the corner if needed. Perfect little set up for a relaxing weekend away to switch off and explore the coasts and moorlands! Thank you.

  • We had a very warm welcome from Sue who had also left a very generous welcome pack. The cottage is charming and beautifully clean and tastefully decorated. I particularly enjoyed all the coastal themed art work all around the cottage. Added to this the stunning countryside and cliff paths to walk.

  • Great peaceful place. Very homely and comfortable. Brilliantly clean. Great communication. Thank you

    Liz2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sue & Nigel place absolutely blew our expectations out of the bag. It's so beautiful, clean and so many added touches. Sue even went the extra mile and bought us some bread, milk and cereal for our stay before we arrived. This was my first visit to Salcombe and I'll definitely be back - what a beautiful place!

    Alice2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed a great weekend, perfect for an escape from hectic life. Spotlessly clean, warm and very cosy, nice touches with the bread, prosecco and toiletries, thank you very much Sue. Will definitely return here.

  • Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The property itself was lovely and cosy. It was close enough to Salcombe and Hope Cove the two places we most wanted to go whilst we were here. Everywhere was nice and clean. This was our first air bnb experience and we much preferred it than to staying in a hotel. Thank you Sue and Nigel, we had a great stay!!

Well equipped maisonette with outstanding views and within an easy walk via onsite footpath to beautiful Hope Cove beach (25 mins) and SW coastal path. Friendly hosts looking forward to welcoming all guests! Two friendly dogs and three ponies on site. Rural tranquil location and close to many South Hams beaches and attractions such as Salcombe, Bantham, Burgh Island, Thurlestone, Kingsbridge and National Trust venues. Enclosed private garden with BBQ. We are told the photos don't do it justice!
Ideal also for walkers and surfers
Super easy access to all local attractions but the perfect bolt hole for a restful sleep surrounded by fields and wildlife. We recommend an evening stroll to Hope Cove and its lovely eateries, the Cove, the Hope & Anchor and Lobster Pod Bistro. Scenic walking route with views of Burgh Island and ideal for pre-dinner drinks or an evening out. Bantham, Bigbury, South Milton, Thurlestone Sands and Salcombe are only a short drive or longer walk away. Amazing coastal walks and National Trust areas to explore. Kingsbridge has numerous restaurants, a cinema and other amenities such as supermarkets although the Co-op in Malborough has fuel, cash point and good selection of groceries and baked goods. Newly opened Ashby’s of Salcombe has a superb Salcombe Meat counter, fresh fish from Beesands, the Blue Whale Cafe and hoards of other local produce, gifts, household items. Just past the Co-op
  • A great place to hide away from the busy city life. Great walks straight from your front door. Wide open spaces and everything you need. Eva and Richard are great hosts, communication was easy with quick response. A definite add to my list of recommendation and would return any day.

  • Perfect little place, well positioned between Hope Cove and Salcombe and close enough to local supermarkets. Definitely requires a car. It is rural but directions given by the host were perfect and the Airbnb was clean and comfortable.

    Annie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy and comfortable cottage. Close to lovely restaurants and beaches. We had a great time and would definitely come back!

    Sebastian2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and even better views out on the countryside! Lovely and friendly guests! Highly recommended to anyone who wants to visit south Devon!

    Keiran2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Eva and Richard are lovely hosts. We were met by Eva withing minutes of arriving, who was able to explain the way things worked at the cottage . Follow the instructions to find the cottage as it is easy to go wrong on the barely a car width lanes. The cottage was very comfortable for the 2 of us plus dog. Plenty of space and storage. We had no issues with the cottage at all, everything worked as it should. Walking from the cottage is up hill in all directions initially but is lovely countryside.

    David2019-10-31T00:00:00Z

Lovely peaceful bungalow set in the rolling countryside of the South Hams. Safe sandy beaches at Hope Cove 1 mile away. Bolberry Down and coast path half a mile. Sleeps four. Nice gardens with decking/barbeque. Ideal for romantics or families.
PLEASE NOTE - VERY IMPORTANT Bookings are from 2pm Saturday to 10am following Saturday only. Short breaks can only be arranged less than a week when it is unlikely a full week will be booked. ___________________________________ The location is perfect for families, walkers and romantics. The bungalow sleeps 4 with one double and two twin beds. It is fully central heated with the addition of a log fire.
The neighbourhood is beautiful. Situated on a tiny country lane bordered by the archetypal high hedges of Devon, this is the perfect example of a rural idyll. The beaches at Hope Cove must be some of the best in the UK, safe and gorgeous. The coast path at Bolberry Down, half a mile away, is one of the best stretches on the entire South West Peninsula Coast Path.
  • Remote (perfect). Only a mile and a half from Hope Cove (perfect). Warm, comfortable, lovely place to stay and Sam is a great owner.

    Roger2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful cosy and secluded cottage. Ideally located for exploring the whole of the beautiful South Hams area yet only a brisk walk away from the charming Hope Cove. All amenities provided for not forgetting the welcome pack of essentials. Sam's a great host, always available for advice, recommendations and even driving directions! You'll always want to return.

  • If you're after England as it used to be, this is it! A hideaway cottage down Devon lanes for idyllic peace and quiet but within range of the wonderful South West coast footpath which opens up the whole of the south Devon coast and coves and beaches I never knew existed. The cottage is ideal for four and has everything you need and Sam is a wonderful, friendly, generous and thoughtful host. Highly recommended

  • What an amazingly beautiful part of Devon, so many great, sandy beaches, with rock pools, water sports, beach cafes. South Milton sands a favourite 😊 Great for kids and dogs. Sam's place is in a lovely, secluded, green spot, well equipped with everything you could need. Lovely fresh clean towels and linen. We had a great week!!

Lower Orchard is a recently renovated, 2 bedroom holiday let with 2 ensuite shower rooms, suited to 2 couples or a family. A small well behaved dog is welcome. There is off road parking for 2 cars. Lower Orchard is situated in the quiet South Hams village of Galmpton, one mile from the delightful seaside village of Hope Cove with its pubs and restaurants - and access to the SW Coastal footpath - and under 3 miles from the popular harbour village of Salcombe and the market town of Kingsbridge.
Whilst Lower Orchard is relatively small, the space is enhanced by an elevated deck reached via sliding patio doors in the lounge. The deck, which has table and chairs, also gives access via steps to a separate small gravelled garden where a charcoal barbecue (provided) may be used. This area does contain a greenhouse so is not suitable for ball games. For guests' convenience a dishwasher (and tablets) is provided, as well as a Nespresso machine plus some complimentary capsules (a cafetière is also provided). A DVD player is linked to the TV, and a good selection of DVDs is available, along with various board games. The property is reached by a flight of steps ( with handrail) and there are stairs internally to one of the bedrooms. This makes the property relatively unsuitable for someone with mobility problems or small children.
Hope Cove, with its harbour, beaches, access to the SW Coastal footpath, pubs and restaurants is about a mile from Lower Orchard. Malborough with Post Office, pubs and Coop is a mile and a half; the popular seaside village of Salcombe is around two and a half miles and the market town of Kingsbridge is around 3 miles away. Many walks can be started from Lower Orchard, including to Soar Mill Cove and Salcombe and to the very popular South Milton beach around a mile and a half away. A guide and a map of local walks is provided.
  • Richard and Judith paid much attention to every possible detail. The details on how to get there were perfect. There was a bottle of prosecco waiting for us and scones., and treats for our dog. The place was perfectly clean. We booked without knowing much about the area and we were ever so lucky. The house is 1/2 mile away from Cove Hope, which is really beautiful (we were there over the weekend of storm Dennis, I can imagine how beautiful must be in the summer), good pubs and great for taking long walks along the coast (map and walks information provided by the hosts!). Salcombe is a gem. The only problem is that is 5 hours drive from our place, else, we would be back more often!

    francesco2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had high expectations of Lower Orchard, given the previous reviews but it was even better than we hoped. The accommodation is great - cosy and clean. It was our first trip to south Devon and we will definitely be back. Richard and Judith were very prompt in their responses before we set off and were very helpful and kind when we were down there. Thank you

    Rob2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great space with the main bedroom adjacent to the living room/kitchen and the other being upstairs. Both have their own bathroom, giving a sense of privacy. Furnished to a very comfortable standard with a coastal theme throughout. The kitchen is well equip with the addition of a dishwasher and capsule coffee machine. An elevated deck balcony area outside with steps down to a small garden was lovely when the sun shone. A cream tea with a bottle of prosecco was a welcome touch on arrival. Dog towel, blanket and bowl were also provided. We would definitely recommend Richard and Judith place to others. Close enough to walk to Hope Cove and nearby beaches but with the tranquillity of the village.

    Lisa2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect accommodation in a beautiful location! Lower Orchard is a stylish , spotlessly clean property with everything you need (including delicious cream scones and bubbly on arrival). We loved Hope Cove and surrounding area with plenty of places to eat and drink as well as beautiful empty beaches during our October stay. Highly recommended.

    Jules2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lower Orchard is a wonderful place to stay. It is warm, comforting and cosy , beautifully decorated with a few personal touches here and there to make it feel homely. Richard and Judith were very welcoming and we really appreciated the cream tea and fizz that was waiting for us on our arrival. There were plenty of board games, maps and local information guides which were really useful as well as reading books and DVD's: I could go on! Above all the accommodation was spotlessly clean. Thank you very much for a truly enjoyable stay.

    Lynn2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautifully furnished and Richard and Judith were very welcoming.

    Elaine2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely property with great access to Hope Cove, Salcombe and all the other delights of the South Hams. The property had all we needed as a family of four. Thanks very much to Richard and Judith for their hospitality, in particular for letting us borrow the fishing nets! We hope to return.

    Neil2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Richard and Judith’s place is very much as described - a lovely cosy 2 bed which has been renovated beautifully with some clever touches to fit 2 beds and 2 baths into the space. It was very well equipped and exceptionally clean, making it a pleasure to arrive to on a cold wet night after a long drive! We took our 2 year old who loved all the seaside touches to the decor. Richard and Judith were very helpful with directions for arrival and with tips and ideas on walks and local places to eat which was appreciated. Hope Cove and Salcombe are beautiful places to visit I would highly recommend this Airbnb as a base for a trip.

The Keeping Cottage sleeps 2 with room for a child or baby. It has a sitting room with lovely country views, one bedroom with a 5ft French sleigh bed, contemporary shower room and modern well equipped kitchen. The cottage has a tiny patio with table and chairs. There is a beautiful beach exactly one mile from the property, which is an easy reasonably level walk. It is also possible to park at the beach. The beach is safe and sandy, with fabulous rock pools at low tide. There is a cafe at the beach which does delicious food, and in the evening you can take your own wine and enjoy the lovely seafood they serve, along with other dishes, and then walk back to the house. It really is a glorious beach the sunsets are spectacular!

  • As a place to stay while you explore the beautiful surroundings of South Hams, The Keeping Cottage in South Huish is absolutely perfect. Generously furnished, with a helpful, friendly host and an ideal location (5 mins from South Milton Sands and 15 from Kingsbridge), for the price I doubt you'll find much better. My partner and I wouldn't hesitate booking again in the future!

  • Great location for exploring the area with easy access to the coastal path and walks to Hope Cove and Bantham. The cottage was bigger than expected and Annabel was a great host, providing recommendations on where to eat and directions which made finding the cottage easy.

Comfortable self-contained accommodation. Enjoy the magnificent views & big garden. Good country pubs & well-stocked village shops are a 20 minute walk along the beautiful coast path to the picturesque Hope Cove village or to Thurlestone. Enjoy snorkelling, crystal clear water, rock pools or water sports on the beach (5 min walk).
The Cottage upstairs still has many original features of the 1920s flat including the original sinks in the bedrooms. Downstairs is a cosy living area. Also downstairs is the toilet and a separate shower room. The setting is unique and beautiful. This is a true find just one stay and you will be in love with the huge expanse of sky, the peace, the air, the scenery and wildlife. The beach is popular for all the fun it offers - water sports, rock pooling, safe swimming. Kayaks & stand up paddle boards can be hired. The Beach House cafe is a hidden treasure, serving daytime snacks and dinners and full English breakfasts during the summer months. This area is very popular for birdwatching as the wet lands attract rare sightings. Horses and cows graze in the meadow - idyllic. Just relax and breathe and enjoy! Please note that we don’t currently offer bedding or towels, and so our price reflects guests bringing their own.
This is a very rural & quiet place, guests are asked to respect the wildlife and peaceful character of the area. No fires, no pets and no large groups can be accommodated.
  • A quiet location in an authentic setting. We had a good week of rest there. The house is atypical and charming with a very pleasant view. A quiet place where we spent a week to rest. The house is atypical with very nice view on birds. Thank you Anne!

  • A pure delight to stay again at our new favourite place to stay. A perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the modern world, lay back in bed and enjoy the sound of the sea as you drift off to sleep after a long day of walking around the beautiful countryside and beach of South Devon. You won't be disappointed if you decide to stay here.

  • Despite the weather at the time we went, this is a fantastic place for some R & R. If you are looking for some peace & quiet, some great coastal walks, beach and nature on the doorstep then this the place to stay. We were delighted by the abundance of animal & birdlife on the wetlands and local walks. We will almost certainly like to return for longer next time and could not speak more highly of our hosts.

    Keith2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the cottage is lovely, so quiet and peaceful and surrounded by beautiful walks. Even if you don't like walking, the short cliff top walk to Hope Cove is unmissable. We loved the fact you could walk from the door and the area is full of interesting wildlife. The cottage is well equipped and perfect for an active couple who need a break from the outside world. Anne and Laura were charming and helpful.

    Guy2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a Blissfully peaceful 5 days at Anne`s place, the location was pure Heaven to us, we did not want to leave and could easily live there. We hope to return again may times .

** 10% OFF 7 NIGHT STAYS IN OCTOBER & NOVEMBER** (special offer sent upon enquiry) Welcome to The Stables! Newly refurbished in the summer of 2016, The Stables sleeps up to 6 people. The Stables is a 2 bedroom barn conversion, sleeping 4-6, situated a mile from Hope Cove on a working sheep farm. We’ve lovingly restored this barn - now modern, it has no signs of the previous equestrian residents (thankfully) but retains its charm - plus few luxuries!
'The Stables' is newly renovated barn in Galmpton, near Hope Cove and Salcombe - just a 30 minute walk across the fields to the beaches at Hope Cove and the South West Coast Path. Formerly part of the old stables and piggery on the farm, the barn has been lovingly restored and refurbished so there are no signs of the previous equestrian residents (thankfully!) but to retain its charm - plus few luxuries! The barn has oak flooring, doors and windows throughout which have been both handmade and sourced locally. On the ground floor, there is an open plan living room and kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and all the kitchen utensils you'll need. It also features a wood burner, for which logs can be ordered ready for your arrival at a small extra cost. There is also a small bathroom downstairs with a WC and hand basin. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms - a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom (featuring a large walk-in shower) and a double bedroom, again with its own en-suite bathroom (featuring a bath and shower). If an extra bed is required, one of the sofas in the living room becomes a double bed, which offers room for a further 2 people. Outside of the barn, there is plenty of parking available as well as an al fresco BBQ area with seating. There is a children's play area at the back of the farmhouse which is situated next to the barn, which all guests are welcome to use as well as having the ability to have a look round the farm as well. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. We welcome four-legged friends to accompany you whilst staying in The Stables! The Stables is on a working farm where husband David and son Richard take care of an award-winning pedigree flock. We’ve over 300 acres in an area of outstanding natural beauty – some of which borders the coast – and provides a great coastal walking and breathtaking views. Walk across the fields to Hope Cove – a small sandy beach with local pubs serving food and drinks to both locals and holiday-makers alike. 1 mile to the village of Malborough with shop, Post Office & pubs 1 mile to the picturesque fishing village of Hope Cove with 2 sandy beaches & pubs 3 miles to the Kingsbridge - Salcombe Estuary
The Stables is located on a working farm with over 1000 sheep (as well as our resident geese - Gerty & George) so there is always something to see and do here! We are: - 1 mile to the village of Malborough which has a playing field, mini-supermarket, petrol station, pubs & Post Office - 1 mile to the fishing village of Hope Cove which is situated right on the South West Coast Path, with pubs and sandy beaches - 3 miles to the picturesque (& famous!) estuary town of Salcombe, situated at the mouth of the Kingsbridge-Salcombe Estuary, with its turquoise waters, designer shops and some of the best views in the South Hams. - 4 miles to the market town of Kingsbridge, situated at the head of the Kingsbridg-Salcombe Estuary, which has a variety of independent shops and picturesque walks along the estuary. - 15 miles to the edge of Dartmoor, perfect for walks, stunning views and exploring what the South West has to offer.
  • A spotlessly clean comfortable barn conversion. Strong showers, comfortable beds, great fittings and amenities. Wonderful countryside , walking and pubs. Had a great time even though it rained constantly so that’s saying something!

    Colin2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, 5 mins from Hope Cove and we prefer it to being in the noise of the resort. The renovation is thoughtfully done and an attractive space, plus the barn is equipped beyond the level of most other self-catering properties. The comms were good and it's good value for what you get.

  • A lovely cottage as part of a set of three or four other cottages. We had an action-packed holiday, walking 30 minutes through lovely fields to the beach at Hope Cove most days. It was a great base for exploring Salcombe (use park and ride). We attempted cycling but it’s quite hilly in the local area so didn’t do it too often! The cottage was lovely and had everything you needed. And our dog had a fab time too!

  • Lovely little Cottage! Great amenities inside and lots of little extras such as games for the kids. Really enjoyed our stay, would defiantly come back.

  • The stables is in a lovely location on a farm, with very pleasant, light and clean accommodation. It is a short drive to several nice beaches, as well as Salcombe, in a very picturesque part of Devon. Highly recommend on all levels. Ann.

  • A beautiful barn with everything provided that you could possibly need, including tips on things to do in the local area and maps. Also a lovely touch having milk, tea, coffee and cake waiting for us on arrival! We would definitely recommend The Stables to others for a lovely break in Devon! We came for our first holiday with our 3 month old son and it felt like a home from home.

Thurlestone, named after the large sea rock with a hole through the centre famously painted by the artist, Turner, is the perfect choice for a seaside holiday. Thurlestone Sands, with its wide sandy beach is one of several locally owned by the National Trust and attracts both families and water sports enthusiasts. The wide sandy beach is backed by a nature reserve where rare and exciting birds have been spotted. Those preferring exercise to sunbathing can take off along the South Devon Coastal Path for wonderful walks with spectacular views. Picturesque and historic Thurlestone village, slightly inland, with its 13th Century church and pretty thatched cottages also offers a pub, a hotel and post office/village stores. The hotel has its own tennis courts, putting green, swimming pools, gym and rackets courts that are normally open to the public. Thurlestone Church dates back to the 13th Century and it was from a fire pan placed on the turret of its tower that the first beacon fire was lit on the Spanish Armada being sighted. In and Around Salcombe Travel the estuary by ferry, one of the nicest ways to get around. Take the Rivermaid to Kingsbridge and explore this pleasant market town. Nearby are the high cliffs of Bolt Head. Visit the Overbecks Museum with its exotic coastal garden, rare plant species and spectacular views of the Mewstone and Salcombe Estuary.
To come to this part of the South Hams is to step back in time. Whilst the roads may be a little busy during the peak holiday periods, once school holidays have ended the pace becomes tranquil and relaxed. In the autumn months the weather can be very mild and the seas remain warm with swimming sometimes continuing into October. Frequently there are, during those mellow months, the most spectacular sunsets. There are 2 safe, sheltered, sandy beaches, 400m. approx. • This is a superb apartment - the location is fantastic for watching all weathers from the large bay window and views of the beach. The lounge is lovely and light and sunny, a really lovely room. The apartment is extremely well equipped and really nicely furnished, so comfortable and homely but also sparkling clean. It's a great location for so many walks from your doorstep in either direction along the coast, and there are some great places to eat in Hope itself and also in the surrounding area. We had mixed weather but as it's so close to the beach you can quickly go out and grab the best bits, we also loved watching the wild wind, rain and waves crashing on the breakwater from the comfort of the lovely warm lounge!

  • What a fantastic place to stay, the huts were beautifully presented and so much bigger than expected! We knew the area well but this campsite with its stunning views was a perfect holiday destination. Will definitely re-visit one day! The facilities were excellent. You won’t be disappointed!

  • Set in the beautiful rolling hills of the South Hams with views of Kingsbridge estuary this site is idyllic. A perfect location to explore the surrounding towns and villages. The Shepard’s huts are lovely and equipped with all the things you need for an relaxing weekend. (We can also vouch for their sturdiness as they were tested with very high winds whilst we were staying) The hosts are lovely, friendly and very helpful. We highly recommend staying here.

  • My husband and I stayed at the Campsite last September we were impressed having stayed at a number of Campsites near Salcombe over the years however this site ticks all our boxes . We saw the Shepherds Huts and when the listing came up on AirBnb and knowing the site and it’s immaculate facilities I booked the Shepherds Hut for my daughter and her boyfriend as her birthday treat . They are seasoned Airbnb users and were absolutely delighted with their stay . The June weather was warm however the Hut is equipped for all seasons , stylish and comfortable. They too loved the views over the Estuary enjoying their Breakfast outside in their own private area. The local area is a walkers haven and Salcombe itself is a comfortable walk. A local farm shop is superb and a very short walk away . Everything you need for your stay, highly recommended.

  • We had a lovely time away at the Shepherds Hut. We arrived while it was wet and windy, but we were able to get straight into the hut quickly and warm up. It was really cute and cosy with everything we needed right there. Vicki was around if we needed her, but was really happy to let us have space and get on with our own thing, which was greatly appreciated. We would definitely go back!

Vicki was really helpful and when we got delayed due to car trouble we were able to check in much later than planned. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

  • The Shepherds Huts in their own right are just beautiful; include the shower block and you start to have a real gem of a campsite; then top that off with the location - you are really in glamping heaven then last but absolutely no means least is the host herself - Vicki’s love for the site is infectious as she wants you to have a relaxed time. Big 👍 from us.

  • We loved our stay at the Piggery. A great location to base yourself to explore a fantastic part of Devon; and just as gorgeous a place to stay as the photos on AirB’n’B had us expecting. We found it such a comfortable, cozy place for our break away, and had everything we needed. Also all our contact with Anne and Alex was great before our arrival - plenty of really clear instructions, and very prompt responses to any messages we sent.

    David2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful beautifully equipped cottage tastefully decorated in a stunning location ... lovely thoughtful touches like cake on arrival made our stay at the Piggery very special .. thank you Anne and Alex

  • The Piggery is a lovely cosy cottage, spotless inside and beautifully renovated (great shower!). All amenities you need and great attention to detail. We stayed over New Year and were welcomed with mince pies and dog treats after our long drive down! Amazing location, close to Hope Cove (The Cove Cafe Bar is a must!) and Salcombe. We only saw Anne briefly but communication was easy with prompt responses. Thoroughly recommend.

    Romy2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is very cosy with all the necessary amenities, and well placed to walk into the lovely seaside village of Hope Cove and only a short drive to other favorites such as Bantham Beach and Salcombe.

  • The Piggery is a well appointed and very comfortable cottage on a working farm nestled away in the hills, about twenty minutes walk uphill (road of footpath) from Hope Cove. We would definitely stay again. We only saw the host briefly but communication was very easy with quick responses and plenty of information regarding check in etc. We were surprised to find it was lambing season and it was lovely to be able to wander into the barns and see the lambs. We had a great time.

    Christopher2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • A well organised and welcoming space on a wonderful working sheep farm. Communication was excellent and we were invited into the barns to see the newborn lambs and chat to the staff. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others as a perfect space to explore this stunning part of Devon.

    Alison2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to stay in a beautiful part of the world. The Piggery was very clean and had everything you needed. It suited 2 adults and a toddler perfectly. The beds were comfy and the shower was amazing. We loved seeing the animals and tractors on the farm everyday, it’s so nice for young children. Anne was a fantastic host from start to finish and all the people in the farmhouse were very helpful too. Hope Cove is in walking distance but much easier to drive if you have a buggy! We’ll be returning next year.

Welcome to ‘The Hayloft’! **10% off 7 night stays in November** Newly refurbished in the summer of 2017 - The Hayloft is the perfect place for a couple’s get away! The Hayloft is a one bedroom barn conversion situated a mile from Hope Cove on a working sheep farm. We have lovingly restored this barn so that it has a modern feel but still retains its natural charm - plus a few luxuries!
‘The Hayloft’ is a newly renovated barn in Galmpton, near Hope Cove and Salcombe - just a 30 minute walk across the fields to the fishing village of Hope Coves with access to sandy beaches and the South West Coast Path. Formerly part of the old barns on the farm - which consisted of the piggery, stables and grain store - the barn has been lovingly restored and refurbished so it is modern, but still retains it’s charm - plus a few luxuries! The barn has oak flooring, doors and windows which has been both sourced and handmade locally. The barn is reverse level with an entrance on both floors - on the ground floor, there is a double/king size bedroom with ensuite bathroom (featuring a bath with a shower over it). Upstairs, there is an open plan living room and kitchen, with dishwasher, oven, microwave and all the kitchen utensils you’ll need. It also features a wood burner in the centre of the room, for which logs can be ordered ready for your arrival at a small extra cost. Outside of the barn, there is plenty of parking available as well as an al fresco BBQ area with seating and a courtyard area directly outside the barn. Free wifi is available throughout the property. The Hayloft is situated on a working farm where husband, David, and son, Richard, take care of an award-winning pedigree flock. We are situated in over 300 acres in an area of outstanding natural beauty - some of which borders the coast - and provides great coastal walks and breathtaking views. From the farm, there is direct access to the footpath across the fields which allows you to walk to Hope Cove which has 2 sandy beaches and 2 local pubs (that are both situated right on the water) serving food and drinks all year round. 1 mile to the village of Malborough with COOP mini-supermarket, Post Office & pubs 1 mille to the picturesque fishing village of Hope Cove with 2 sandy beaches & pubs 3 miles to the Kingsbridge - Salcombe Estuary
The Hayloft is located on a working farm with over 1000 sheep (as well as our resident geese - Gerty & George) so there is always something to see and do here! We are: - 1 mile to the village of Malborough which has a playing field, mini-supermarket, petrol station, pubs & a Post Office. - 1 mile to the fishing village of Hope Cove which is situated right on the South West Coast Path with pubs and sandy beaches. - 3 miles to the picturesque estuary town of Salcombe, situated at the mouth of the Kingsbridge-Salcombe Estuary, with its turquoise waters, designer shops and some of the best views in the South Hams. - 4 miles to the market town of Kingsbridge, situated at the head o the Kingsbridge-Salcombe Estuary, which has a variety of independent shops and picturesque walks along the estuary. - 15 miles to the edge of Dartmoor, perfect for walks, stunning views and exploring what the South West has to offer
  • A wonderfully stylish yet comfortable barn with everything we could have needed to enjoy our stay. We'll be back!

    Sally2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Anne is a brilliant host and a lovely lady. We loved staying at the converted hayloft - it's been beautifully and thoughtfully converted. Just right for one person or a couple. There are other larger converted barns for larger parties - all beautifully converted. There is also a lovely courtyard outside with outside tables and chairs and it is nicely lit in the evening. It was so cosy and comfortable and it's in a brilliant location for exploring South Hams, for going into Salcombe, for walking, and for enjoying the amenities of Hope Cove including the great beach. As is Bantham beach, which is about 10-15mins drive away. I loved being in the location of a working farm and seeing all the sheep, dogs, geese and ducks. Anne is a great host and very helpful. Can't wait to go back.

  • An amazing stay, can’t wait to go back!

  • Amazing stay ! Clean, cozy and very stilish tree house. We will definitely be back in the summer.

    Bianca2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely romantic quirky getaway! Would definitely recommended to anyone thinking about booking this treehouse :)

    Amy2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Booking this weekend away was possibly the best decision myself and my partner have made! The treehouse is located within walking distance of the lovely salcombe, it is a bit hilly, but after a few gin and tonics you hardly notice the slopes! We stayed in mid February, and even with the rain and the wind, we felt incredibly warm and cosy in the beautiful treehouse (which has underfloor heating!!!). Our lovely hosts sent through a massive comprehensive list of not only great places to go for dinner, but a large list of taxi numbers and directions on how to get to and from wherever you need to go! On top of this there was a massive booklet full to the brim of great activities to get stuck into during the day! We opted in for the full cooked breakfast which was winched up to us in a hamper ready for us to cook in the morning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Everything was so fresh and tasted amazing, and not being the smallest chap, I was impressed with the portion sizes! Worth it every time! I think we witnessed the treehouse being tested as storm Denis was still whipping the coastline during our visit, but apart from the occasional whistling wind, you would hardly notice there was a storm outside! It’s beautifully quiet and with my phone on airplane mode it was the perfect weekend to switch off. It is worth noting that the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the sheets, towels and all cooking utensils were absolutely spotless! We are both very much looking forward to our next visit (maybe in the summer next time to make the most of the lovely patio area with the fire pit!). Thanks again!

  • A lovely unique stay, great location for exploring Salcombe and the wider area. A particularly lovely touch was the option of a breakfast being winched up to the treehouse - we went for the full English and the local produce was excellent. The shower was lovely and warm, a welcoming experience after being out in wet and windy weather!

    Bryony2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful treehouse! Very clean and incredibly well equipped. The underfloor heating and electric wood burner were certainly needed to dry off clothes after a wintry walk! A 20 minute brisk walk to Salcombe along a lovely path, is an added bonus.

    Dave2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say thank you enough for our stay. First and foremost The Treehouse and the surroundings are both absolutely gorgeous. The bed was incredibly comfy, in fact the whole place is just so warm and cosy. The shower was absolutely to die for and all the space so well designed. Freya was the perfect host, so informative and organised ahead of arrival and attentive on check in despite her own busy diary. The short walk into Salcombe is really pleasant (bring a torch!) but far enough out of the town that it is it’s own little world. I could not recommend this place enough.

    Will2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Can't recommend the Treehouse at Salcombe Farm enough. It is so comfy and inviting and was absolutelty spotless. The decorations for Christmas were a really nice touch, loved the mistletoe hanging over the bed! Thank you so much Felicity and Freya, can't wait to come back soon.

    Gracie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at the treehouse for a birthday celebration. Wonderful woodland location but still within a short walking distance into Salcombe. The property was very well presented with lovely extra touches. Good communication, hosts very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend!
