  • Very nice historical house in downtown Sonora on a quiet street. It was the perfect space to spend a night on our way to Big Bend NP park. The complementary breakfast at Bump Gate cafe was a very nice surprise.

  • This place is awesome! Tammy is a super host that is quick to respond and makes sure you have everything you need. The listing itself is super cool - it’s an old house and it’s filled with antiques. It was like staying in a museum. We loved it. Bed is huge and the futon is cozy! Great spot.

    John2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place, lots of character and nice decoration touches, my daughters of 9 and 10 loved it. Nice place also to have breakfast included complementary on our trip.

    Alejandro2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • I’m a traveling musician, and my partner and I needed a place halfway between shows to stay. Tammy was great with being understanding to why we needed such a late check in/out, and everything went smoothly. It’s a cool spot that I’d come back again!

    Dan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean home in a very convenient location. Enjoyed my stay.

    David2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Don't drive by Sonora on your way to somewhere else! Now that Tammy's place is online, you have a cozy, cute and comfortable abode right in the middle of things. Tammy -- a fifth generation resident and local rancher -- plugged us in and treated us great. The local museum is a gem , Caverns at Sonora amazing, local folks a reminder of what makes small town Texas life a treasure.

  • This is a really cool old house. The antique furniture and building style give it a refreshing old-time feeling.

Rustic cabin on hunting land. There is a pull out sofa on the main floor with a queen size mattress on one side of the loft, kids area on the other with air mattresses/sleeping bags available. There is a running water, a restroom with trough shower. The kitchen area has a farm sink, fridge, microwave, keurig, electric skillet, toaster oven, crock pot. There is a dvd player but no tv service or wifi, limited cell service. The property does have a feeder and blind. Property is 42 acres in size.
There is an area were a fire can be built outside.
The property is located in a gated hunting area with divided tracts.
  • Awesome place to unplug and recharge. There is no cell service or wifi, so it’s a great place to go to for some good old fashioned family fun. We enjoyed hiking, charades and making s’mores, but the best part was just simply the time together. The cabin is very clean and is adorable. Friendly neighbors.

    Misty2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a place to getaway from life and unplug for a bit, this is it! The property is gorgeous, secluded, and quiet. There is a lot of wildlife around! The cabin exceeded our expectations. It is homey, comfy, and clean! The porch is screened it and you can also build a campfire right outside. Definitely will be coming back!

    Ashley2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Natasha was an amazing host. You’d have to see it in person to receive the great experience that I’ve had here. The rustic theme was very unique. Between the two of us, my girlfriend and I had a 10/10 experience. There were amenities there so that we could cook and eat without having to eat out and we appreciated that. We will definitely be coming back to this location so that we could tackle the wild tour at Sonora Caverns. Thank you Natasha. 😊

You can sit on the patio and enjoy wonderful sunsets and sit back and watch as we work on the ranch. The ranch house will allow you to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature. Sit out on the front or back porch and let our simple way of life be your entertainment.
  • The ranch was full of life, yet quiet and serene. The ranch house was charming and clean.

  • Great place to stay...home is super clean and location is extra quiet. Sandra welcomed us at the front door upon our arrival and showed us around. Complimentary breakfast items (eggs, bacon, milk) in the fridge was a pleasant surprise. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

    David2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay! Wonderful people who are very welcoming and it was very clean. Definitely coming back for another stay some time!

  • Expect beautiful sunsets and a cozy atmosphere! The host was very hospitable and the location really makes you "disconnect to reconnect". We loved it here!

    Michelle2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful experience to stay with Sandra and her family. The drive to the ranch was incredible, we are from the U.K., so driving across Texas was something very new. Then we couldn’t have been happier to get to experience life on the ranch, if only for a very short stay. Sandra and her family were very hospitable and kind to us during the stay, showing us around and telling us about life on the ranch. It was a peaceful stay and a new experience, which was exactly what we were looking for. If you are lucky you’ll get a clear starry night to see the heavens!

    Megan2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was like a little slice of heaven. It was so peaceful and there and the ranch animals are allowed to roam free. The cottage is adorable and you can get some amazing pictures there. Sandra and her family are very friendly and the fridge was stocked with milk , eggs, bacon, condiments, water. There was also pancake fixings, coffee, creamer, tea bags. it was very well stocked. All in all it was a charming place!

    Rebecca2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect little get away from all the craziness of day to day life! Loved going on a walk to see the ranch and blue bonnets!

  • Sylvia is truly a Superhost. When we asked about a fire pit for smores, she built one and added the wood and kindling! All we had to do was strike a match and start roasting marsh mellows. The 14 deer that marched by while we drank our morning coffee was an added bonus.

    John2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sylvia is a great host! Great communication upon arrival! Unlike any place we've stayed before, she provided a stocked fridge with eggs, sausage, milk, orange juice, fresh fruit and pastries. What a fantastic surprise! The house was great for the two of us, who were in town for fishing. We won't hesitate to stay here, or at any of Sylvia's properties in the future!

  • This was out 3rd stay at Concho River Retreat with Sylvia. She is absolutely the most gracious host. Her property is stunningly beautiful and she always makes our stay so comfortable and makes us feel so welcome. We love sitting in the river with friends and family, fishing, and kayaking. We will continue to choose Sylvia and to be our host and her little slice of heaven to get away for our much needed breaks. Thank you Sylvia. We’re so happy we found you!

  • Nol's place is a gem! Beautiful cabin tucked against a cool river with built in "pools". Nol is a very helpful host who goes above and beyond to make your stay amazing. The cabins have everything you'd need, but the real draw is the amazing location and riverside setup, with hammocks, recliners, and floating options!

If you are looking for a place to get away. The camp house may be the perfect place. Miles down a gravel road and one mile down a dirt road will take you to some long overdue peace and quiet. Relax on our comfy leather furniture and enjoy watching the livestock and wildlife come in for water. Relax on the porch. Curl up in one of our comfy beds and enjoy a peaceful nights rest. The camp house is your destination if you need to disconnect from the real world and enjoy some down time.
Check out life on a Texas ranch, property is located in the middle of a ranch. Our family has been ranching for over 100 years, we love our way of life and would like to provide people with an opportunity to see how peaceful the ranching life really is.
The area is very remote. Great for nature lovers who want a chance to view wildlife in a natural setting. No phones, your cell phones will probably not work, no wifi, no TV, just peace and quiet. It truly is a place for those who want to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature.
  • Very remote ranch that lets you unwind and disconnect. The hosts are very nice and helpful. There are things to do on the ranch (photos of animals, walk to Indian Mounds, attend a church service with Carmelite Nuns, etc.) Also, you can go into Christoval to the winery or other area attractions, but this location is more about staying on the ranch and enjoying it for what it is - a working West Texas Ranch.

    Gretchen2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is truly a wonderful place to disconnect from the world. It is quiet and peaceful and the hospitality and friendliness of Sandra and her family is above and beyond. It is remote and cell service is non-existent for many miles around, so do take that warning seriously. However, for me that was part of the charm. There were board games, cards, and a DVD player with movies. There were plentiful breakfast items provided and we even had breakfast for dinner one night. I highly recommend the Pfueffer Ranch for a perfect opportunity to disconnect and reconnect.

    Lisa2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful place to stay if you truly want to enjoy living at Ranch. Place is big, comfortable and surrounded by nature. Just make sure that someone has turned on water and air-conditioning before you reach there. I will like to stay here again if opportunity will be there. Host is amazing.

    Padma2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exactly as advertised and a very comfortable place to stay in the wilderness of west Texas. What a beautiful ranch. Sandra is a great host, and even came to find us when we missed our turn. Much appreciated!

  • Great place to disconnect.

    Jennifer2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra was a great host! She checked on us to make sure we had found the place and we even had breakfast provisions in the fridge! The place was one of the cleanest rentals I've EVER been in. Directions were easy to follow and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. The dirt roads were in good shape and we loved watching the livestock graze. Props to the host for sharing their slice of heaven with the public- this place is beautiful and so relaxing!

    Mary Helen2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Just absolutely glorious, we loved it here. The house is spacious, comfortable, clean, and beautiful. Sandra and Ray were absolutely adorable, kind, friendly and helpful. We loved our stay there. The countryside is so beautiful and incredibly interesting, we saw so many creatures new to us and absolutely loved the Texan hospitality.

Welcome to our river-side escape with B&B lodging for up to 4, ages 12 and above. Morning Glory House is one (1) of two (2) options from which to choose, with the other being the "River View Bunk House" (also listed on this site) whether for a romantic get-away, family reunion or wedding. Located near Christoval, Texas, just on the edge of the famous Texas Hill Country, guests can bring their favorite "flotation devices"...whether they be tubes, kayaks or a canoe and are welcome to fish.
Morning Glory House, a 2-story B&B cottage, sits just above Concho River's edge and sleeps up to four. Built in 2002, the house has cozy decor. From the wrap-around porch guests enjoy views of the river along with open spaces where wildlife abound - owls, turkeys, and deer visit while tiny jeweled hummingbirds visit during warmer months. Our S. Concho River flyway is a welcome habitat for a variety of birds seeking food and water in the vast West Texas area.
This is an 8 acre property bordered on the East and West by artesian-spring fed water. It's secluded with our nearest neighbor being Christoval Winery (with tasting room open Thurs.-Sun.)

Sylvia was incredibly helpful and responsive to all of our inquiries. The amenities including juice, milk, cheese and meat and breakfast foods made the experience even more enjoyable. The views can’t be beat! Saw deer every morning grazing outside the cottage, as well as tons of amazing birds. We will certainly be back!

She provided breakfast food, coffee, snacks, and tubes for the river. There is a gas grill, and nice porch area. There is even a spot to fish. Easy drive back to town when needed.

  • We spent our last summer weekend at Cabin 1 and had a great time. We have two kids (7 &9) and they were busy at the river the entire day. On Saturday morning we drove to the second river crossing from her cabins. It was about 3 miles down the road and we did a 2.5 hour tube ride back to the first river crossing. Absolutely beautiful scenery , very few people on the river and we also saw some axis deer. We will definitely be back next year

    David2019-08-18T00:00:00Z

  • This is our second time to stay and we enjoyed just as much as the first time! The house is spacious and has everything you need. You can hike, canoe...or do nothing but relax. The property is clean and well manicured. The foreman does an excellent job of presenting the perfect environment! You will not regret your stay!

    Analisa2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed this location!! From 11 to 65 years-old, each of our guests continually said, "pictures do not do this place justice! This place is SO beautiful!" The Youth that stayed in the Lodge felt comfortable, yet it was a priviledge to stay there. We all enjoyed a nice fire outside each night and no one even had to collect firewood!! The accomodations were so well thought out that we did not even have to guess where the matches were 😉!! We will definately return!!

    Anne C.2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is nothing short of amazing! If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, this is the perfect spot. If history is of your interest, your appreciation for this ranch will increase greatly! The owner and foreman took the time to set us up and make us feel welcome. Clear Creek has everything you could ever need to make your stay enjoyable. Small gestures do not go unappreciated. We were greeted with holiday decor and even got great tips for things to visit and explore. We ventured out to some of the recommendations and had a great time! Pictures and words really do not do justice for your experience!
