Cozy pet-friendly cabin in walking distance of the Shenandoah River. • Hot tub • High speed internet •Fully equipped & stocked kitchen • Onsite washer & dryer • Grill • Gas fireplace • Private Garden Pub/Bar
You know those big mountain resort neighborhoods? This isn't one. This is a secret spot close to all the big attractions, but tucked away from "the hubbub." Guests love being able to walk to the Shenandoah River, a private lake, hiking trails, and Shenandoah River Outfitters. They also love finding a pet-friendly cabin that is modern rustic... not just rustic. Come get away from it all at our cabin. Enjoy the simple life, sleep in, and breath the fresh mountain air. Revel in the beauty and bounty Shenandoah has to offer guests, and feel free to revel in the garden pub... which is 120 square feet of country fun tucked into the woods. We're happy to provide you with a list of our favorite restaurants, wineries, activities, hiking trails, excursions, and more. We like to consider ourselves the unofficial ambassadors of Luray!
Off the beaten path, but by no means 4-wheel drive necessary. The cabin is part of a quaint little neighborhood walking distance to the Shenandoah River, and Shenandoah River Outfitters.
  • Terrific mountain getaway for couples!

  • Beautiful little house we really enjoyed it hope to be back sometime

    Josh2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to visit! The cabin is off the beaten path, and while it is a bumpy road to get to the location; it's worth it. If you want to have a romantic weekend -- or have a good time with some friends, a great place to visit.

  • Culin is reply’s to messages every time and the place is beautiful. Would recommend.

  • Wonderful space with great ammenities! Very comfortable and relaxing place. Culin was a great host. He gave lots of helpful suggestions about local restaraunts/activities and responded to messages very quickly. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • If you're looking for a secluded getaway, this is the perfect place. The pictures are an exact representation of what to expect when you get there. The hot tub was already warmed and waiting for us, which was great after the long drive down. One thing to note though, is that you have to take all trash to a public trash disposal. The closest one is about a 30 minute drive, so be mindful of what you'll be throwing away, and the smells that may go with them.

    Devin2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic! Nestled in the middle of mountain trails and a beautiful river, we were never far from anything we wanted to do. The cabin itself was immaculately clean and the yard was very well kept. Needless to say, but the hot tub was spectacular! 10/10, will try and reserve again!

Elevated 900 sq ft space with vaulted ceiling and 500 sq ft of wrap-around deck in the treetops. 3 bedrooms (2 Queens + full-size futon which is 6" narrower than a Queen and therefore definitely a bit tight for 2 adults) and 2 full bathrooms. Adjacent to National Forest land and just 40 miles from the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah Nat'l Park and Skyline Drive. Our home is within the Bryce Resort - offering (in season) golf, mountain biking, zipline, and lake with beach, kayaks/canoes
This is the “treehouse” of my childhood dreams, and I know you’ll enjoy it too. As you can see in our photos, the Treehouse has a wrap around deck which is 500 sq ft and offers peace and quiet. We have lots of tables and chairs on the deck for bird/critter watching, eating, playing cards, etc. There is outdoor lighting on the deck. Please note: Because the house sits at tree top level, we advise against young children as guests. The main room has a vaulted ceiling and a wall of windows making it feel like you are living in the treetops. The windows look out onto the deck and into the trees making the home feel like more than just 900 sqft. We have three separate bedrooms and two baths. Two of the bedrooms have a queen bed. The third bedroom has a new full-size futon; this room has a TV and DVD player (no cable or satellite). The master bedroom has an attached bath. All of your linens and towels are provided. There is a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. Due to the extremely hilly terrain, cell phone service is sketchy. We can typically (but not always) get signal from Verizon to allow voice calls, but other cell data connectivity is spotty at best. The home does not have cable/wifi, but the Resort Clubhouse does. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots and pans. We have a coffee maker, a George Foreman Grill, and a pancake griddle. The fridge, oven, and microwave are in very good shape. We have 2 driveways, one on each side of the house. Both are steep and narrow and require that you turn around at the top. Please do NOT attempt to back down. The first 40' of the steepest (and most convenient) drive is paved so it's entirely manageable with most any vehicle. If you utilize the other (totally unpaved) driveway, you need to drive up in a SLOW and STEADY manner to prevent spin-outs and tearing up the driveway. It is not feasible to accommodate a large RV, towable trailer, boat, or such at the treehouse. Parking more than 1 vehicle per driveway is nearly certain to require some vehicle jockeying. If you would like to book the Treehouse, we ask that you tell us a little about yourself either by completing the Profile section of your Airbnb account or within your Inquiry to book. We've been on Airbnb since 2014. We hope you'll read our profile. Please note a few house rules: - There is no grill and no grilling is allowed on the deck. - No smoking on the property. - The small loft is solely for storage and is not for guest use. - The fireplace is not for guest use. It is not in working condition. - No pets please.
Our home is located within the Bryce Resort community. The resort is NOT a gated community and is very much on the low-key end of the spectrum (as we prefer), so - while not "fancy" - it is very quiet and yet still has a very nice variety of activities. Visit the Bryce Resort website for information on golf, mountain biking, a zipline and more. There are specific days/hours of operation and reservations may be required for these activities; please check the Bryce website to see fees and schedule. Lake Laura has a 3 mile walking trail that is open to the public year-round for free (can also serve as an easy-to-moderate mountain bike trail). For a small fee during the summer, Lake Laura offers beach access and kayak/canoe/paddle boat rental (check Bryce Resort website for summer schedule). The "town" of Basye is really just the resort. There is a clubhouse restaurant/bar. Just outside the resort, there is a brewhouse/restaurant, ice cream stand, and a very small market and gas station. Mt. Jackson is 11 miles away and offers a full grocery, State liquor store. Woodstock is a 30-minute drive and has most everything including a Lowe's, Walmart, Cracker Barrel, etc. Zoom out on the map in the listing to see some suggested points of interest. The resort is very hilly. We enjoy long walks for great exercise. I enjoy biking within the resort, but it is very strenuous due to the hills.
  • Just a great place overall from the fact that it’s a TREEHOUSE to all the personal touches and information to explore the surrounding areas. Even on the rainy days we had board games and movies to watch. Just a cozy place with everything you need and a great place to come back to after a long day of hiking!

    Kari2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at the treehouse was incredible! We loved relaxing for our 2 night stay and exploring the town around us. The guest book and the binder put together by Mark was amazing. I also loved that there were basic needs in the house like soap, shampoo, toilet paper, spices, etc. Loved the DVD collection that was available for us to binge watch Simpson’s at night while we relaxed inside since it was colder. The wild life was awesome around the treehouse too. The first driveway was paved halfway up and my 2019 Toyota Corolla was able to make it up with ease. We didn’t attempt the back driveway because the top was significantly more convenient for us with no steps. Mark was very communicative about the stay also. We already have our next trip booked! PS. Don’t hike Orkney spring trail off alum spring rd. We couldn’t pass through the main road to Marks recommended spot because of a downed tree and found this trail. It was a 35% grade and was super hard despite what all trails said. I’m still sore today. Lol! If you do decide to, only go to the view point. The super steep treck to the top brings you to the peek in the middle of the woods with no view. Wasn’t worth it.

    Amber2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Linda are great hosts! I had a great time at their tranquil treehouse. It is everything it is described as and more. I would highly recommend staying here!

    Mackenzie2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a special and beautiful place this is, and at such a reasonable price! The location is gorgeous and the treehouse is both a great place to hang out and a wonderful base from which to explore the area. This is our second time---we'll be back! And Mark makes the process very easy and smooth.

    Katherine2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! This place is truly amazing...loved everything about it. It felt very homey, cozy, and was sparkling clean. I was so happy that the heating worked because it got a bit chilly at night. I can't wait to come back and see what it looks like during winter and spring! Highly recommend!

  • The place is beautiful and very peaceful.

    Anthony2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting in the trees. The cabin is interesting in design and has everything you could need. Lots of space for a small setting. WiFi would be nice since there is limited cell coverage.

  • We absolutely loved staying at this cabin over the weekend. It's located right in Luray, so it's close enough to stores but far enough for some much-needed solitude. Everything was so easy, from check-in to check-out. Culin always made sure to respond to questions and provide us with plenty of information to make our stay as memorable as possible. We'll be back!

    Casey2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Blue Moon Cabin is a great place to go to escape. The front porch looks over the beautiful mountains and the back porch with the hot tub is great in the day with the view of the mountains and in the night with the view of the stars. It feels very secluded and private. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Great place for a romantic getaway or family trip!

    C2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay at! Enjoyed the beautiful outdoors hiking and was extremely thankful for the jacuzzi! Beautiful cabin that we hope to rent again. Highly recommend.

    Renee2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • House appears to be very new and everything is in excellent shape. It was very clean. Appreciated the grill and accessories even though the rain ruined our plans to use it. Hot tub is great and there's evidence to prove it is taken care of regularly by a professional. We thought it would be more private - pictures don't show there's a house on each side and one in back (but neighbors keep to themselves). Note, the walk to the river is more of a hike. Communication from owner was very helpful. We had a great stay, thank you.

    Jessica2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway from the city - highly recommend! The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful and had all the amenities you would need and more. Everything from the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were well stocked and felt very homey. Culin was a great host and provided us with all the information needed for check-in, check-out, and local hot spots!

    Ashley2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I loved our 2 night stay at Blue Moon Cabin! It was VERY clean and surpassed all of our expectations. Culin was an amazing host, he gave us so many great suggestions for the local attractions as well as very fast response times. It was the perfect private getaway while staying in Luray! Our only disappointment was that many of the local breweries and wineries are only open on weekends during this time of year, so we were unable to visit them during our stay. Fortunately, we picked up some wine from the local Walmart and had a great time enjoying the large front porch and rocker chairs at the cabin. (:

    Emily2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean place and had everything you needed for a cozy cabin getaway! Culin was great with recommendations and always prompt with check-in and responses. My mom, sister and I really enjoyed our time there. We went to Hawksbill Brewery one day and took a walk down to the river.

    Chase2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Culin was quick to respond and offered lots of local tips. The cabin was clean and well decorated. The hot tub and fire pit were really nice and overall, it was a fantastic trip.

I enjoyed having my coffee on the screened porch with a beautiful view both mornings of my stay. Will definitely stay again. This is a great value for the space and location.

  • This place is awesome. If you are looking for a quiet and tranquil environment this is it. A great place in and out. The fireplace added that special touch to a cozy night. I would recommend this place to friends and family. Thanks for having extra items to keep busy. It was very thoughtful.

    Erick2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was absolutely beautiful. We used the fireplace every single day, it was definitely the thing I loved the most. The kitchen was stocked so well we actually packed a bunch of things we didn’t need because they were provided. There were tons of games and movies to keep us occupied. Culin also made tons of great recommendations locally. He was very easy to reach and helpful. Truly a beautiful place to stay we had a great time.

    Nelda2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a great place to get away, Culin's place is fantastic! The location is wonderful - close to Shenandoah (we were able to go for a great hike) as well as Luray Caverns. The house itself is beautiful and so pleasant to stay in. We had a great time using the grill and the fireplace. Definitely planning on a return trip if we can. One thing to note is that the driveway is no joke - we got lucky that there was no ice/snow, but if there had been, our compact rental car would not have been able to make it up the hill!

    Nora2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is exactly what we were looking for! It was a perfect getaway! It’s secluded up a gravel road with mountain views surrounded by trees. It’s got a wrap around deck and screened in porch that’s so cozy. The inside of the cabin is everything you need! The kitchen is fully stocked, plenty of games for adults and kids, and anything else you would need. The fireplace was our favorite part! Culin was an excellent host; he was so helpful and informative and always quick to respond with any questions we had. We can’t wait to plan another getaway there.

    Gina2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very private and cozy spot. Host is quick to respond. Would love to visit again!

    Elizabeth2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it. Absolutely LOVED it. Had such a wonderful time looking at the Mountain views and visiting local shops and restaurants. The cabin was so cute and clean at the top and in a peaceful secluded area. 10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a quiet getaway for a while !

    Alissa2020-01-28T00:00:00Z

Welcome to Old Hill Cider House! Located just steps away from the first row of Summer Rambo Apple Trees at Showalter's Orchard. The thoughtful renovation was just completed in early July. The former wash house could be a base for all your Shenandoah Valley Travels or this light airy and romantic little house is a comfortable and cozy place for your farm vacation. The kitchen is small but has all the basics, one queen bed, one bath. We look forward to making your acquaintance.
The cider house is a separate outbuilding fashioned from the farm's original wash house. The cottage is light and airy with clerestory windows. Its views are exceptionally suited to take in the vistas in each direction of apple trees as far as you can see to the west and of the Shenandoah Valley to the East. Just a few steps from the doorstep you'll be standing in the oldest part of our orchard. Enjoy exploring the rows and rows of trees. If you are visiting during apple or peach harvest season, we offer pick your own apples and peaches. Your ciderhouse kitchen is ready with everything you need to prepare your meals or even better to make your apple or peach pie with fruit that you just picked. You'll find our favorite recipe for apple pie on the kitchen counter. If your visit happens to be when the bounty of the vegetable garden is ready, please help yourself. It too is right outside your door. This peaceful and private place is also perfect to relax and rejuvenate and watch your favorite Roku programming or take advantage of all its natural light to read to your heart's content. A brick patio under the canopy of enormous oak trees is available along with a fire pit and firewood to sit outside and enjoy looking at the stunning view while you sip a glass of cider. The production facility and tasting room for Old Hill Cider is on the premises. Enjoy a complimentary tasting for two while you're here.
  • My boyfriend and I loved staying here! We loved the house and how close it was to the cidery. The cider was absolutely amazing and everyone was super nice and welcoming. Will definitely come back.

  • Located on an orchard farm. Peaceful and relaxing place!!! Very romantic!

    Rosalind2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is so cute! The place itself is exactly as described....very cute and clean. We went in the off season, so weren't able to pick apples, but did visit the cider tasting room and loved it! The surrounding area is so pretty too.

    Stacy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This little house is so cute! It looks exactly like the pictures! We were able to feel at peace and relaxed for our stay here. We wish we could’ve seen how the orchid looks in the spring but we plan on coming back! Sarah provided us with everything we needed to cook and live comfortably. This place is a great experience with a beautiful view

    Karina2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I purchased this stay for a family member for Christmas and they absolutely loved every minute of their stay! Here is their review of the trip: "Our weekend Old Hill Cider House was amazing! What an absolutely adorable cottage Sarah has created on her beautiful orchard property. If you can’t relax there, you can’t relax anywhere! Had a great time tasting their hard ciders and surveying of the grounds, and also venturing in to the tiny little village of New Market and down to Harrisonburg. I hope to make it back to the Old Hill Cider House again!" Thanks so much for making this weekend getaway wonderful for my family! They can't wait to come back again sometime!

    Alixandra2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s orchard farm is amazing! We loved our stay in the cute little guest house - it was warm and inviting yet very romantic! We did the cider tasting and Kristy was a doll. We love the people on this farm and will returning soon (but not soon enough)

    Alexis2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful time at the orchard. The space was beautiful, staff were friendly, and the furry friends snuggly. Great location for exploring the mountains and surrounding towns.

    Bianca2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place is the perfect spot for a little get away. It was just as described and depicted and met all of our needs and then some. Very clean, quaint, quiet, relaxing, and welcoming. Checking in couldn't have been easier and communication with Sarah was easy and super helpful. Sarah's place is located off of country roads, in a very accessible location, just a short trip to Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, etc. The cottage sits on an orchard with easy access to the on-premise Cidery. Their hard cider was delicious (much different and better than an Angry Orchard cider) and they offer quite the variety, I definitely recommend anyone that stays here to pop in for a drink around sunset time - great views of the mountains and the orchard.

  • If you're looking for a space you can show up and relax, this cabin is for you. All the little details are taken care of, with helpful notes laminated and placed everywhere to let you know how to use various appliances, where to put trash and dishes, and you don't have to go searching high and low for local information - it's all neatly provided on the book shelf right inside. The proximity to a bunch of local sites is great, and while you can see neighbor cabins, it's still quiet and the view is gorgeous. What an absolute find this place was - worth the money, and I'm VERY excited to come again in a different season.

  • Jim and Lisa were excellent hosts. This cabin is perfect for two people. It's well-designed, with a spacious kitchen and dining area, ideal for cooking meals at home. Their guest manual was also incredibly detailed, with many helpful suggestions for fun attractions and sightseeing in the area. We loved the fact that this cabin was just a 15-minute drive from a local vineyard, the Massanutten Storybrook Trail, Luray Caverns, and Stanley's small downtown area. I highly recommend booking a stay here!

  • Jim and Lisa’s place was perfect for a romantic getaway weekend in Shenandoah. Skyline Drive was closed the day we were there, but we found some great local wineries and stayed around the cabin. Very cozy. The hot tub and fire pit were amazing!

  • Genuinely the best 2 day vacation I've ever had. The private driveway is very rocky and a little narrow, but even my 2010 toyota prius could handle it. However, if you care about your car's paint job, you may want to use a rental car for this trip. The cabin was very clean, kitchen was much more well stocked than I'd expected and the fireplace in the living room made the whole place very warm and cozy. Overall 10/10 would reccomend and will definitely be back again to enjoy it in the summertime

  • What an awesome weekend we had at Olivia’s place! The view is breathtaking! We enjoyed cooking meals in the fully equipped kitchen and the grill outside, playing board games that are in the house, watching movies in front of the fire place and drinking coffee and wine on the deck, taking in the beauty of the surrounding nature, we had lots of birds, small and large, “join us” on the deck! This place is very secluded, and did I mention the view? We decided to spend our entire time at the house, taking in the view and enjoying the quiet place together.

  • We stayed at this location with our 2 pups for a nice Valentine's weekend if relaxation. We arrived very late at night but Olivia's directions and self check-in information made it a breeze to arrive and get in. The views are spectacular. There is a peacful feeling being up so high in the mountains. The cabin was very cozy and had everything you would need for a stay including lots of games, dvds and a fully stocked kitchen. One thing that the listing doesnt empathize on is how Dog Friendly it is! There was a giant dog bed, a basket of toys and extra dog bowls. It was a really nice added bonus. Our dogs loved looking out the windows over the valley. The fire place was amazing and very easy to use. It helped warm up the room very quickly. We had a great time and now my husband wants to buy a property near by. Lol. Thank you Olivia!

    Jessica2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home with beautiful views. Super clean and Olivia was very responsive. If you visit here, make sure you wake up to see the stunning sunrise views

    Ibrahim2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • The views at this place were spectacular! We stayed during the winter and were even treated to about a half-inch of snow on our second day - really couldnt ask for much more!

    Chris2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place fulfills all your expectations and more. You have wonderful views of God's creation along with the amenities where you don't have to leave the cabin for the entirety of your stay! Would go back in a heartbeat!

    Emily2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This home has the most beautiful mountain views we have ever seen! It was breathtaking! Sitting in front of the fire was one of our favorite spots. The bed was extremely comfortable as well. It is the perfect romantic getaway! It's very private and quiet but also has great wifi. Olivia thought of every little amenity. It was extremely cold in January, but the heaters kept the place toasty warm. She had plenty of fire wood and starter logs there for us and lots of kitchen appliances. We cooked almost every night. It was perfect! I highly recommend Olivia's place!

  • Great Place to get away and enjoy some quality time with the family. Views were amazing and porch looking at the stars at night were the best!

  • Great spot! Secluded, quiet, peaceful. Great way to get away for a quick weekend trip!

    Harry2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely wonderful, relaxing place to disconnect over the weekend. We were able to spend some time exploring Luray, but our favorite part was hanging out at the cabin by the river.

    Amelia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Bruce's place was unforgettable. Be careful to follow his directions - the cabin we stayed in is tucked away in a very private spot (we missed the turn more than once), which always makes for wonderful views! He was always quick to communicate, and extremely friendly and hospitable. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a quiet, cozy getaway!

    Dustin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved our stay. We found it to be very relaxing to wake up and watch the loons on the river.

    Amy2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet place to stay. Unfortunately, it was raining the whole time I was there, so I didn’t get to experience the outdoor space.

    Craig2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Bruce’s place! It was quiet, peaceful, and calm. Just the place for a reset weekend! The place is very clean and beautiful.

    Tegan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were thrilled to spend the weekend away at this quaint cabin without wifi or cell phone service. The photos don't quite do it justice -- if you're on the fence and reading this, just book it now!! The property is just tucked away enough so that you feel like you are "out there" but close enough to civilization and the Town of Luray to run errands and do some touristy things. The place was CLEAN, I cannot stress this enough as someone who's walked into a bad rental before. It was exactly as expected/listed, if not better. We brought some dvds but were surprised to find the cabin had direct tv. We loved using the kitchen and outdoor grill to cook some tasty meals and enjoyed a fire by the river. The in-ground fire pit was too wet, so Bruce brought us another fire pit to use. Bruce, aka Dr. Dirt, had great suggestions on what to do in the area even outside of the listed guidebook. The living room has a desk full of maps and tourism pamphlets. There is plenty to do in town, such as visiting the Warehouse Art Gallery for local art and Hawksbill Brewing, which we did, but this is also the perfect place to do absolutely nothing. Kennedy's Peak Loop is just a quick drive down the road. You can either do the entire 8ish mile loop or do the 5 mile out and back. There are great views of Luray and it takes you to an old fire tower with 360 views. Highly recommend! We saw people of almost all ages doing this trail. My favorite thing about the cabin was the value for the location. I liked having the cabin all to ourselves, but having the hosts nearby in case we needed something. Bruce was friendly and welcoming and we would love to visit again in the summer with our dogs.

We invite you to stay in our completely renovated home with all modern conveniences, including central AC, heat, & high speed WiFi. Our goal is to provide a superbly clean, safe, comfortable stay with access to a multitude of outdoor activities. Short walk to the River Outfitters for tubing, canoeing and kayaking. Public boat landing a block away. Short driving distance to Luray Caverns, George Washington National Forest and Shenandoah National Park. We are family friendly and love dogs.
Hi! We travel often for work and usually stay in Airbnb rentals around the world. From these experiences, we bought and renovated this home as a full-time vacation rental with all the little details we expect (and are often missing in other places). Basically, we created our dream Airbnb vacation stay. It's modeled on several Airbnbs that we visited in Norway, Denmark and Sweden (can you tell?). We are Airbnb SuperHosts and hope you'll read through our 5-star reviews to be confident in your booking. The Shenandoah Valley is our home and we love to share the undiscovered pleasures of this area. We have mountain ranges on either side of the valley with a gorgeous river running through it. We're proud to call Luray home. Our nightly price covers up to six guests. Kids are always welcome, and we're pet friendly (with prior approval). Just let us know who you're bringing so we can accommodate (need the high chair, pack n' play or dog bowls? Let us know!). If the Mid Century Home is booked or you're booking for several groups, please check out our other new renovated rental in Luray: Modern Farmhouse near Shenandoah Nat'l Park + Lake https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4169256 House: We have lovingly renovated this unique, mid century house and turned it into a modern home with a European style. The house is located on a small hill near the Shenandoah river with gorgeous views of the National Park. You'll wake up to the sunrise, then watch the sun slowly fall on the mountains as night comes. Though we are on a small road that follows the river, you'll feel secluded because there are no visible neighbors. We've updated the home with all conveniences, including central AC, heat and high speed WiFi. This is not a rustic cabin, but some seriously awesome luxury. A great way to enjoy the outdoors. If you have any special needs, just ask. We live a quick ten minutes away. Parking: The home is on a small hill with a concrete driveway that will allow you to drive right up to the front door. Two cars can park up top. One car can park at the bottom of the driveway, if needed. Bedrooms: The house sleeps up to six people, but also perfect for a couple who want a quiet getaway. There are two private bedrooms. The downstairs master suite has a Restoration Hardware king size bed and flat screen TV. The second, upstairs bedroom has a West Elm Queen Bed, flat screen TV and private deck with mountain views. There's also two adult-sized, handmade bunk beds that are built into the downstairs nook. You can use the heavy curtain to separate the space for privacy. Great for kids, or adults who are kids at heart. We gladly provide all bed linens and pillows. Bathrooms: We have a large full bathroom with a brand new, Americast soaking tub and rainhead shower. We provide shower gel, shampoo and towels. Living room: We like to spread out on two couches and the stylish West Elm wing chair. There are plenty of board games, playing cards, novels, kids books and backlogs of magazines to read. Or hook your phone up to the speakers and play music on the stereo (bluetooth or plug). Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with an six person farm table. You’ll have everything you need to cook a holiday meal, bake cupcakes, or just make coffee + toast and use the microwave for simple reheating. The refrigerator is a smaller European model but can hold enough food for a big family. Plus we have an energy efficient dishwasher for easy clean up. We provide a blender, crock pot/slow cooker, pots, pans, dishes and all utensils. If you need anything we don’t have, we'll do our very best to accommodate. We provide a lot of "starter stuff" so guests don't have to over-buy for short stays (condiments, Olive oil, spices, bug repellent, sunscreen, etc). Coffee. We love it! So we provide a couple different ways to make coffee. We have a Bonavita drip machine with a reusable brass filter. Or you can use our stainless steel french press. We provide Starbucks Medium roast coffee, sugar (and non-sugars), creamer, stevia. If you bring your own beans, you can use our electric burr grinder. We provide different kinds of tea because tea is good too. Entertainment: The house and property has high speed WiFi access. We installed a Ubiquiti wireless router so the internet reaches to all corners of the yard and around the house. If they even have it, many local rentals have either slow satellite access or limited bandwidth from the cell tower. We made sure to get fast, unlimited broadband. Lounge inside to check your email and catch up on videos, or hang out on the deck while researching cool hikes online. Both flat screens are hooked up to Apple TVs. You can watch unlimited shows and movies on our Netflix account, or sign in to any of your accounts to watch what you want (NFL, NHL, HBO, MLB, iTunes, Hulu, etc). Kid stuff: Because you're probably traveling with enough stuff already, we do have a high chair, a Pak n' Play, and plastic eating dishes for small kids. Just let us know if there's an infant in your group so we can have things ready for your arrival. BBQ: We have a brand new Weber gas grill with plenty of fuel. Have fun cooking on our custom hand-laid stone patio. We have foil, wooden skewers, and all the tools you need. There's a rock fire pit to build small campfires on the side yard above the patio. You can either buy firewood from the store or adventure across the street to gather wood in the National Forest. Be careful crossing the road! Outdoor Space: Our crowning renovation achievement is the black locust hardwood deck with a view of the Shenandoah Mountain Range. Six Adirondack chairs allow you to enjoy the view with a cold drink (bottle openers on every chair). Sunrises and sunsets are priceless. With no light pollution, you can see the Milky Way from the porch at night. The yard is fairly steep since the home is on a hill, but there is an area to walk your dog right outside the door for quick relief. We also have a long leash secured to a pole on the front porch by the BBQ area so dogs can safely be outside while you're cooking or lounging on the benches. Shenandoah River Outfitters: 500 ft from our front door is the Shenandoah River Outfitters. Here you can rent tubes, canoes, or kayaks to float down the river. They handle everything including life preservers, floating coolers, and transportation to and from the river. We have their schedule and prices posted in the house. It's an all day adventure. If you have your own equipment to float, you can drop off at the Bixler's Ferry Bridge and get out at the public boat landing just down from our house. It's a nice 3-4 hour float. Fishing: The Shenandoah River offers plenty of spots to fish. There's also a small public lake two minutes from the house. The fish are kept stocked by the Fish and Wildlife department. Great for kids who demand guaranteed bites! George Washington National Forest: The forest includes the land across the street from us, but it's a fifteen minute drive to some of the best hiking trails in the area. The Stephens Trail Hike offers panoramic views of the Shenandoah Valley along the Massanutten Mountain ridge line, ending at the stunning panoramic Kennedy's Peak tower. It's a really fun hike (our favorite) with lots of chances to see wildlife. Luray Caverns: The Caverns are world famous since they were discovered over a century ago. The family who runs the Caverns have done a great job creating an inspiring, tasteful experience. It's a perfect place for an afternoon trip underground. There also plenty of other activities for kids like the giant maze and jungle gym. The Pioneer museum showcases demonstrations on how the first settlers in the area lived. Shenandoah National Park: We're twenty miles from the entrance to the Shenandoah National Park. It's a quick drive with no traffic lights between you and the Park. You can buy a day or week pass into the park to drive the 110-mile Skyline Drive. Or choose from the approximately 100 day hikes (of varying difficulty) that show off the Park's many waterfalls and vistas. We have booklets describing all the hikes. If you want to get 5 feet away from a deer, you'll be able to. Sometimes it's fun to eat at Skyland on top of the mountain where you can see the all of Page County below. Weddings: Luray is known for its beautiful wedding venues. Our house is a perfect home base to stay when attending your friend's or family's wedding. We're just 13 miles from Khimaira Farm and Faithbrooke. In order to help you look your best, we have a full length mirror, iron and ironing board, and lint rollers. Small Town USA: Luray is 10 miles away. It's the a quintessential small American town with a number of restaurants from fancy dining to burger joints. Gathering Grounds is our coffee shop with wifi. Every Saturday morning from May-September, there's a great Farmer's market in town to pick up local produce and meat from area farms. The indoor Willow Grove Farm Market sells locally produced food all year long. Several pizza places deliver to the Mid Century house if you just want to relax and let someone else cook. Treasure hunt at the antique stores, or grab outdoor gear at the outfitters. The 6-screen movie theater, a true local treasure, is open for matinee and evening screenings. Uncle Bucks is the sports bar where locals enjoy the game (stays open till 1am every night). Several groceries stores and Walmart will provide you with everything you need. There's also The Valley Cork wine bar that's open Thurs-Sunday 4-10 to enjoy a local (or int'l) wine tasting. Hawksbill Brewery recently opened where they make all their own beer. The Luray Zoo is on the edge of town and famous for rescuing exotic animals. Perfect for kids who want to safely get close to animals (like goats!). A newly renovated hospital w/ a 24-hour emergency room is close by. We provide a binder with maps of everything in the area and are just a text away if you have questions. Renewable Power: We buy 100% renewable power from our local electric coop (SVEC), which buys the power from Stony Creek Wind Farm. We have an outdoor 110v outlet if you want to trickle charge your electric car (we hope to see more of them!). If you are Elon Musk, we'd love a supercharger, but we'll have to stick with 110v for now!
This is a quiet, rural river community. Full time residents are friendly and wave to strangers!
  • Ryanne and Jay have truly thought of everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. From excellent hiking recommendations to a fully stocked kitchen, this place was exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway. We loved the European-style decor throughout, and the porch is just an amazing place to soak up some mid-day sun and relax. Communication was excellent and everything was as described! Hope to make it back here again soon.

  • We fell in love with the touch of modernness during our cabin trip to this house. It was exactly like what we imagined a perfect cabin trip in West Virginia would be. Highly recommend!!

    William2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t imagine a better AirBnB for visiting Shenandoah and the Luray area. Ryanne and Jay have put so much good time and effort and thought into this place. It looks even better in person, despite the excellent photos. We’ve never seen an AirBnB with so much cooking gear. Made meal making a breeze. Even the grill was impeccable clean. And somehow even the firewood was the best I’ve ever used haha. The hike they recommend has to be taken, if you’re able and interested. We actually liked it better than any we’ve done in Shenandoah proper.

    Alex2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, great for a mini family reunion with my brothers. Really appreciated the local suggestions. Would stay again!

  • A tranquil escape in the mountains.

    William2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was AMAZING! I went for the weekend with a few friends and it exceeded all of our expectations. Inside is decorated beautifully and very stylish. The upstairs is PERFECT from the balcony, views, and huge couch to hangout on. Would definitely recommend, and stay here again.

    Lauren2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised, beautiful all around.

    Henry2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely wonderful. From the moment we walked in, it was quite clear that Ryanne and Jay had poured their hearts and souls into this cozy, yet surprisingly spacious home. I was vaguely familiar with Hygge, the Danish concept of creating happy spaces, before this trip, but having stayed here, I really get it now. The Hygge here is strong, with lots of wood, green plants, ample light, cozy nooks, and an abundance of great books. It was tempting to stay the whole weekend here without venturing to the nearby caves (our whole reason for coming to Luray), and next time we might just stay put! Ryanne and Jay, you’ve created something very special and we’re grateful that you shared it with us!

Cozy romantic couple's getaway repurposed from an historic 18th century water mill's cooperage (where barrel staves were built). Great for JMU & EMU parents weekend. Perfect for a honeymoon or babymoon! Covered deck overlooks the picturesque mill and water wheel, providing relaxing sounds from the creek. Located in the ghost village of Moore's Store, now surrounded by orchards and farms. Private yet convenient to wineries, breweries, ski resorts, hiking, caverns and rope adventures.
Open concept cabin with two sleeping areas (doors only in the bathroom) and a large deck to bring the creek sounds in. I raised my daughter here when we had no running water - just electricity. Now grown and with a family of her own, recent renovations were lovingly and imaginatively made to provide a comfortable place when visiting (and entice them to visit granny more often!). Filled with items salvaged from the mill such as grain chutes, mill auger, flour packer, pulleys and timber framing beams made from rare wormy chestnut that make this a creative and unique space to enjoy.
Quaker Thomas Moore was a surveyor and pioneer who settled the area, obtaining a large land grant from Lord Fairfax in the 1750s. Moore's Store was one of the first autonomous settlements in the Shenandoah Valley that centered around the merchant mill and also featured a sawmill, foundry, cobbler shop, doctor offices, harness shop, slave quarters and post office. General Custer burned the mill and family plantation home during the Civil War. A sawmill fire destroyed nearly the entire village in the 1870s. Moore's Store was named for descendant George Moore who died in the Civil War. Rebuilt twice, the grist mill and store operated under the Moore family for over 200 years until the 1930s when a dynamite accident claimed the life of the last miller, George Armentrout, who had married the widow of George Moore. Just a few houses now remain along with the mill, granary, cobbler's home, and harness shop. Neighbor's dog Malachi, who lives in the former doctor's home, is the unofficial mayor and might greet you when you arrive.
  • Great place to escape the stress of life and just unwind.

    Joseph2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 would recommend. The house is very charming and gives a cozy cabin feel. The creek is right outside the back porch and provides an excellent sound track for a relaxing weekend.

  • If you are looking for a quiet getaway in the woods...look no more!! This place is magical. I recommend bringing your own food to cook in her awesome kitchen because the nearest restaurants are at least 15 min away. Also, be sure to check out Showalters cidery for some amazing views! Thank you Joan!!!!

  • The Grist Mill exceeded all expectations and there were tons of great flea markets to check out in the area. Great food and beautiful scenic drives nearby. We never wanted to leave the cabin!

  • Joan's place was truly special. Situated next to a lovely creek, the entire cabin had thoughtful touches and beautiful decor that instantly made us feel at home. Good location to relax and get away from it all (make sure to see the stars at night)! We will certainly be back again

    Catherine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Peace, quiet, relaxation, the typical qualities you would hope to have on a sweet lil getaway. Joan’s place was amazing and even more beautiful in person. Would love to come back to see the greenery surrounding the property when it is warmer! Even in colder weather, though, the mill was so perfect.

    Alyssa2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely amazing! From the detail in the decor to the beautiful location on the creek. So much rich history and such a unique little cozy home. Couldn’t ask for a better space to escape for a weekend! Joan is a great host and her place is a home away from home.

    Kyle2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a must! Joan was a wonderful host and she has put so much heart and effort to make this place one of a kind. • Donna and Robert's place was beautiful! It was much larger than expected and decorated to perfection. It was extremely clean and well organized, plus little touches like delicious cinnamon bread waiting in the fridge made the stay super special. Donna and Robert were quick communicators and even made some suggestions on local eateries that were having dinner specials. We wish we could have stayed longer! Definitely a recommend if you're in the area.

    Nicole2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay and Donna & Roberts place for two nights. This apartment we booked exceeded our expectations. Very clean, nice furnishings, spacious and comfortable. We stay here after hiking Old Rag mountain and it was so nice to come back to a lovely place to relax. We would highly recommend staying at Donna & Roberts place, they are also very lovely and greeted us on arrival.

Donna and Robert, were excellent hosts, quick to reply to our queries regarding the local area, the apartment was immaculate and the cake was delicious! Already recommended to our family and friends.

COVID-19 UPDATE: We're still open for guests. Place has been cleaned and disinfected with commercial-grade cleaning products. ############################# A simple, yet comfortable small shaker cabin placed in the middle of the Massanutten Mountain with views to die for of the Shenandoah River and National Park. Wake up to the sight of the magnificent "Blue Ridge Mountains" and the town of Luray, VA from 1,500 feet.
We debated long and hard whether to list this place on airbnb. After all, this is our hideaway, with a view that regretfully only a few will ever get to enjoy. But because we love it so much, and in the spirit of the sharing economy, we felt compelled to open its doors to others and allow you to experience the wonderful warmth that this small and rustic cabin will bring to your soul, your heart and your sight. While here, every sense is lifted, every smell improved, every sound a symphony. If you're looking for modern comfort and the latest gadgets, this is not your place. Instead, if you want to warm yourself up, you'll need to place wood in the stove. If you want to check the latest stock prices, you'll need to call your broker because Internet is NOT available. If you want to watch TV in your room, please look elsewhere. However, if you prefer to wake up to the most extraordinary sunrise in your life, simply sleep on the futon couch and open up your eyes in the early morning. If you find delight while hearing the buzz of a hummingbird, just place a few seeds in the balcony. If you want to reconnect with your inner self, seat in one of the shaker rocking chairs, pull up your legs and open that book you always wanted to complete. If you're lucky, you may even see a black bear or two roaming around (no worries, they are not dangerous). The Cabin is located at about 1,500 feet overlooking the Shenandoah River, the town of Luray, and the "Blue Ridge Mountains." The view is a feast to the eyesight. But don't stop there. Visit the Luray Caverns, 6 minutes at the bottom of the hills. Hike to your heart's content on the Massanutten (Stephen) Trail a mile above or in one of the dozens other nearby paths. Bring a road bike and challenge yourself to the top of the mountain. Go horse back riding. Explore the Virginia wine country. Or just...relax. Welcome to a place where time has finally slowed down!
Chances are, you will not see the neighbors. This cabin has easy access, yet it's extremely secluded. The town of Luray is about 6 miles from the Cabin. Your closest neighbor is probably some 200 yards, if they're there at all. Welcome to rural Virginia!
  • I can't recommend Rodrigo's cabin enough! Four of us visited and had a perfect weekend getaway from DC. The cabin was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked - it had more kitchen gadgets than my home. The view is very impressive. We spent less time hiking than planned because we didn't want to leave the main room with that incredible view. Rodrigo was very communicative and checking in and out could not have been easier. We hope to visit again soon!

    Ally2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • There are not enough words to eloquently express our delight with this stay. From attention to details with little unexpected touches to all the excellent instructions but most of all THE VIEW in this place and the coziness of the space is what enchanted my husband and I. Rodrigo left nothing to guess work and his response time is impecable. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The access to multiple hiking places with breathtaking views is also fantastic. We will definitely come back!

    Joise2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Off the grid yet so close to town. The view and experience is like no other. You have to go there to experience the magic first hand. Getting back to basics sucks you in and you never want to leave. Rodrigo is an amazing host, and communication was so timely. He left no stone unturned when it came to being a super host. Can't wait to return. There is nothing like this place... Where memories are made.

    Erin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our group stay in Rodrigo's cabin. The view is spectacular; the kitchen is amazingly well-appointed (great use of a small space); the bathroom is lovely; the living room is very cozy in the winter; the porch is serene, with birds all over the bird feeders; there is enough room for a group to sleep comfortably; and you can walk directly from the house to some fantastic hikes! Things to note: while it feels completely private at the house, take note that there is a road directly below the house, so the house is not sound-isolated--several cars go by every hour. In addition, the second futon is not full-sized, but they do have an air mattress available. I would recommend this house to anyone!

    Lillian2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The most incredible view with the most authentic rustic feel- a cozy cabin for sure. We went to Luray Caverns, Quievremont Winery, and Copper Fox Distillery. A bit of a drive, but a scenic one. We enjoyed the wood stove very much and were really toasty! An overall great time.

    Eleanor2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little piece of the world Great getaway

    Melanie2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to unwind with a view you won’t want to leave.

    William2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is my fourth time staying at Rodrigo's home, though the first time in the winter months. It was as spectacular as ever. Very remote and peaceful with terrific views during all seasons. Did not get around to hiking this time (which is one of the wonderful features of the location), but enjoyed sitting out on the deck, making breakfast (always use the waffle maker!), and tending to the fire. Make sure to follow the directions Rodrigo provides, as some cell carriers lose service temporarily on route and roads up the mountain are windy. Keep an eye out for the sign on the private driveway. If this was a bit closer to home (~2 hours from DC) I'd be here even more frequently...but that's part of the charm. Thanks Rodrigo!

Welcome to The Perch! Our beautiful A-frame cabin opens up to the Shenandoah River. Cabin is perfectly suited for couples or small families looking for the perfect mountain getaway with a view that can't be beat. Take in the sights from the rooftop deck, screened porch, or by the fire pit in this year-round riverfront retreat. Prime location for canoeing, fishing, hiking & biking - the perfect escape to relax in the woods, on the water and to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Shenandoah.
Our cabin is located on a beautiful bend on the Shenandoah river, complete with a picturesque view of the mountains in the background. There is much to explore outdoors, but the indoor space will keep you cozy when you want to kick your feet up. The open concept floor plan allows for plenty of mingling and family time, but when it's time to turn down for the night, everyone will enjoy their own private areas. The loft hideaway area is accessible by a ladder, which is perfect for small children to sneak away for their own movie time, but only under the supervision of an adult.
Our cabin strikes the ideal balance between seclusion and access to necessary amenities. You'll be just a 10-15 minute drive to just about anything you could desire: restaurants, outdoor activities, Skyline Drive, etc. Our cabin just few miles away from the Shenandoah Outfitters Canoe Company if a day trip is more your style (tubing, kayaking, etc.). There is much to explore through the Shenandoah National Park, in the heart of Luray, and nearby wineries and breweries.
  • What a beautiful location and cabin! You can’t beat the tranquility of this place, with direct water access on top of it all. The cabin is wonderful; such a cool design, with a rooftop deck, and it was sparkling clean inside. Lyndsey is a wonderful host too—super responsive and she has a great guidebook that gives useful tips on nearby hikes and restaurants. We had an excellent stay and are looking forward to returning. Thanks, Lyndsey!

    Nicole2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Situated right on the river the Perch offers a priceless setting to unwind. The roof top deck also provides a panoramic view of the area. Inside the home has a super cozy living room with a toasty fireplace to stay warm on cold nights. The fully functional kitchen makes it convenient for cooking.

    Dan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This quiet and cozy cabin was exactly what my family needed to get away from the city. The view is breathtaking especially from the loft and the rooftop deck.

    Yzalia2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Looking for a easy get away from all the chaos of the DMV? The Perch is your answer! not only is it super easy to get to, but the house itself is everything we could have asked for and more! We booked in Jan and still had an amazing experience. The house is soooo cozy during winter, her living room stove heats the house up FAST!!!! The area is quiet, with the only major sounds are coming from the river in the front yard!!! this place offers the perfect escape!!! the campfire was perfect during the cold winter nights. Lyndsey offers so many extras, every time we realized we forgot something, Lyndsey had everything we needed! Would recommend the Storybook Trail short like with spectacular views! It’s only about 30min away but with beautiful sights to look at on the way, the drive feels incredibly short!!

    Marsha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This location is fabulous and the cabin and grounds are gorgeous. This is the perfect place to enjoy the mountains and also a quick ride over to Luray Caverns. We came in the winter, and the fireplace inside was perfect along with the campfire outside and grill! Right on the river, we had a beautiful view. 10/10 would recommend!

    Jake2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first trip together and this place made it remarkably unforgettable! Clean, beautiful with Breathtaking view! We loved our stay in this cabin! Thank you Lyndsey!

The Cottage at the Barb Farm is a cozy two story cottage nestled in the Shenandoah Valley on the historic Fisher's Hill Battlefield. The cottage was used as the summer kitchen in the civil war days. It was rebuilt in 1991 to the current cottage. There is lots of civil war history to discover, hiking trails, wineries, and breweries in the area. The town of Strasburg is about 15 minutes away. If you're looking for a weekend getaway or a relaxing vacation in the mountains, this is the perfect spot!
All bed linens and towels are provided. The Cottage has a Keurig machine, stove, oven, toaster, microwave oven, hair dryer, iron, and gas fireplace. There is china and silverware available for guest use. Wifi and TV provided.
Fisher's Hill Battlefield Park is about 1.5 miles away on Battlefield Road. The Town of Strasburg with antique shops and restaurants is 15 minutes away. The Cottage will have brochures available for many of the interesting places to visit in the area.
  • We stayed here for a trip to Shenandoah national park (this is 30 min from the front royal entrance, little over an hour from Thornton gap). The cabins super spacious and cute, w thoughtful amenities such as coffee, Netflix, and a gas fireplace. The main room could use a bit more light but overall, this place is awesome!

    Ellen2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage. It is historic, yet updated with modern conveniences. The directions were excellent, and we were able to find it on a day and rainy night. The gas fireplace was especially welcome, as were the comfy recliners facing it.

  • Anne's hospitality is amazing! There was absolutely nothing we lacked while there. She anticipates and provides a guest's every need. Anne thoughtfully leaves detailed instructions about where to find what you might need in the cottage. You will leave feeling pampered and refreshed.

The house is close to George Washington National Forest, Hiking, Biking, Rock Climbing, wildlife (deer, turkeys, sometimes bear!), the pond is literally out the window with fish. You’ll love the large FIREPLACE, the semi-stocked LOG BAR, the view of the pond, the pine forests you can walk through, the wildlife, the views, the location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
-Semi-stocked LOG BAR where you can craft a cocktail by the fireplace. -You can also sit in the gazebo and enjoy the breeze on a nice day. -Within a 5 minute drive of George Washington National Forest. A couple hikes close by: -Strasburg reservoir hike -Lower buzzard rocks hike -Kennedy's Peak hike -Woodstock Tower hike You can quickly search them online, the app does not allow me to put links! -25 min drive to Skyline Drive! -** 2 of the 3 BR's are attached to the garage beside house, right outside the door of the house, but detached. No guests have had an issue with the layout!
  • Justin’s cabin is a cozy, natural getaway! If you’re looking to escape the city- this is the place. We loved drinking wine by the fireplace and hiking the local trails. If you need WiFi and modern amenities, this is not for you- But we loved the chance to unplug and enjoy nature. We will certainly be back!

    Marina2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for peace and quiet to get away from it all, this is the place for you! Quiet, country setting without service.

    Libbi2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in a beautiful and remote location. We stayed only one night but would love to come back one day with our dog and explore the area more! Cabin was cozy and rustic and had everything we needed to disconnect and be cozy for a night in the mountains. Loved the gazebo! No cell service or wifi but we knew that going in so we were prepared and actually enjoyed it. Thanks, Justin!

    Sarah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great remote place to getaway from city. Last couple miles are paved road, so if the weather is not good it might be a little challenging to get up there with a sedan car. I highly recommend bringing your own drinking water, tap water has a sulfur smell, nothing bad but I would imagine drinking would be hard. Also there is not much around, its better to bring your own food and cook, instead of driving down. Side note, there was no hair dryer, or we weren’t able to find it, its better to brining.

    Alara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

    Sydney2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

    Jessica2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you need a quiet break from the city, this is your place. The area is gorgeous, and there are beautiful trails nearby. Bring your groceries and enjoy a secluded weekend away. The house is super cute with a log bar and a fireplace. Our dog couldn't have been happier running free is the big back yard, taking long walks down the road, and hiking through the trials. It was just what we were looking for!

    Jessica2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most phenomenal time at Justin’s place. The most authentic cabin situated in the woods, it was absolutely stunning to drink from the bar and overlook the lake. Serenity ! It was about a 35 minute drive down into woodstock which we loved the diner down there, an extremely auThentic experience. Everyone we encounter were so lovely and warm. We would have loved to have gone hiking but we were snowed out which was just lovely anyway !! Throughly enjoyed.

  • The view from this cabin is incredible - definitely worth the trip. We had a wonderful time sitting in the hot tub looking out over the mountains and having a fire in the evenings.

    Elizabeth2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Place was nice and cozy. The view was amazing.

    Jarrett2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a wonderful and relaxing week at Ashley's cabin. The views were beautiful. The only thing we had trouble with was the long, bumpy road up to the cabin. 4WD is a must. Overall, we had a lovely experience!

    Jimmy2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was amazing!! The pictures don’t do the view justice. Everything was clean and neat upon arrival, and communication was excellent throughout. Definitely would recommend not driving a sedan up the mountain, but we had a small SUV and it worked perfectly fine. We will definitely be staying here again!!

    Kelsey2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing stay. 5 stars! The pictures don’t do the view justice. The kitchen had everything you needed, plenty of space to move around and stretch in the mornings, board games came in clutch, and the grill was also super spot on. My favorite part was probably the hot tub. Definitely coming back again! Grocery stores are about a 30 minute drive which isn’t bad since it’s pretty out there but if you want to avoid driving just plan your meals!

    Mark2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a terrific birthday weekend. The view is great, the cabin was clean, and the hot tub was our favorite part. It was a quick drive down the mountain to explore Luray Caverns. We also enjoyed the many wild birds that would visit the property

    Alex2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and everything was as expected. Great communication with Ashley. We had a wonderful time and plan on a return trip in the future.

    Joe2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views, wholesome and cozy space, very responsive host and decent location. As the reviews below state, the drive up the mountain to the property was definitely more suitable for a SUV or truck. Although I did see a neighbor/other guest driving up in a Mini Cooper, so it can be done in a smaller vehicle. My friends and I stayed here for an extended weekend and had an amazing time. We had no complaints and can’t wait to come again for a longer period of time.

  • What a lovely little last-minute getaway. We have had hit and miss stays at airbnbs, but this was above and beyond what we had hoped for. We feel like we found a lovely little gem. Loved the views, speakers wired throughout the house and the AMAZING CD collection. Sharon was very quick in responses and very thorough in details. Can't wait to make it back!

    Anne2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lost River modern was amazing. The house was beyond fabulous and such a beautiful setting. Highly recommended

    Sarah2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place in such beautiful surroundings. We can't wait to go back! Thank you so much, Sharon!

    Tom2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My significant other and I wanted to get away from the city for a weekend and found The Lost River Cabin as a great in between of isolation, relaxation, and beauty. Thank you Sharon for sharing the cabin. We will recommend it to our friends for sure!

    Sasha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home - it's the kind of place I'd love to live in permanently! The clean modern design was beautiful and the amount of light the place got is fantastic. The location is less than 5 minutes to Lost River State Park, which was great, and since the park doesn't have a usage fee we were able to go back and forth multiple times a day. A few things to mention: we would've loved to use the hot tub, but it looked like parts were broken or missing and we didn't want to mess with it since there weren't really directions. The hot tub as well as the wood stove required wood, which we found in the shed, but hadn't been mentioned anywhere in the info provided. Also, the wifi info at the house didn't match the directions so hopefully that'll be updated to match. But really, those are minor issues, and we will definitely be back. It's such a lovely place to stay and you can't beat the fact it's a short drive from DC!

    Brook2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of architecture and nature. Wonderful!

    Arnaud2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon’s place is fantastic. It’s a super cozy cabin in the middle of the woods. All comfort you may want, surrounded by nature. Sharon is also a ver efficient and kind host.

    Gastón2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to get away. The cabin, set along a hillside with tons of privacy, was super stylish and clean. We spent most of our time relaxing around the well-appointed fireplace and enjoying the view from the enormous deck (which expanded almost the entire length of the building). The host provided lots of firewood(!) so we didn't have to worry about how much to bring, yet the cabin is conveniently located to the other spots around Lost River.

Nestled in the wooded hillsides of the George Washington National Forest, Santi's Lost Stream provides a serene retreat from the stresses of urban life and is the perfect base to enjoy all the area has to offer from hiking to cycling, and more. Completely renovated in 2018, this classic A-frame cabin offers sleeping room for up to six, and plenty of living/lounging space. Booked for your dates? Check out our cousin cabin High View Hideaway at https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/39899541.
Santi’s Lost Stream boasts a fully-equipped open plan kitchen and spacious living/dining area that leads out onto a large deck nestled among the treetops, perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks. The open plan dining area features a convertible dining table that can seat up anywhere from two to six people, as well as a breakfast bar with additional seating for two. The master bedroom features a queen bed and large picture window with forest views, as well as an ensuite bathroom with walk-in rain shower and heated floors. The separate guest bedroom also offers a queen bed and hand-made shelving unit that provides generous storage space for all your getaway garb. The loft snug is the perfect place to cuddle up with a book, play a game, or watch a movie, and also provides additional sleeping space with an ultra-comfy queen futon. The cabin has two full bathrooms furnished with lux quick dry towels and toiletries, including soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The ensuite master bathroom boasts a custom vintage vanity, heated floors, and spacious glass enclosed rain shower. While Santi’s Lost Stream is a the perfect place to fully unplug and unwind, we understand the pressures of modern day and the need to stay connected may not allow you to do so, so we’ve wired the cabin with fiber optic high-speed internet and Wi-Fi access, as well as a large screen LG smart TV with access to Netflix, Hulu, and more, ideal for cozying up on the comfy sofa to catch your favorite movie, sporting event, or television series. The cabin sits on 5 acres of wooded hillside grounds frequented by all forms of wildlife. It’s not uncommon to wake up to deer peering through the bedroom window or enjoying a midday snack among the lush greenery. Firewood: If you plan to use the fire pit, we definitely recommend picking up a couple small bundles of wood en route. The Garden Market and Kerr's carry them for $5-6 per bundle and you can find spots on the way that sell bundles by the "honor" system. Please note that as our cabin is located in a national forest it is prohibited to bring firewood from outside the region into the forest. Please also note that this is hunting country, so do not be surprised if you hear shooting in the area when hunting season is open (November 24 − December 13).
Within easy reach of Santi's Lost Stream are a wide array of trails that offer both gentle walks and serious hikes through the wilds and wonder of the George Washington National Forest and neighboring Lost River State Park. A popular spot is Trout Pond recreation area, a short 10-minute drive away, and offers scenic walking trails, canoeing, fishing, and swimming (in warmer months). A slightly farther trek (30-minute drive) will bring you to Lost River State Park, a great spot for both the young and old(er) adventurists to enjoy. The nearby town of Wardensville offers several shopping and dining options. Make a stop at the Lost River Trading Post to stock up on craft brews and local wine, and peruse their impressive selection of local products and amazingly curated antiques and curios. On the weekend, pay a visit the Garden Market and Bakery to enjoy some of their farm-fresh produce and delicious baked goods. (Our favorite is the Cowboy Cookie!) Pop into Ripples in Time, a precious little antique shop, to hunt some their hidden treasures. The quaint village of Lost River (15-minute drive from the cabin) offers a few dining and shopping options, as well. Enjoy local produce, ice cream, and gifts at the Lost River General Store or grab a bite to eat at the Lost River Grill. And if you seeking a relaxation and wellness experience, book a session at the Lost River Yoga Studio. The popular Guesthouse Kitchen & Bar just outside Lost River (12-minute drive from cabin) is a great spot to enjoy a lovely meal after a long day out adventuring. This locally-owned and operated staple of Lost River establishment offers farmhouse style, American inspired dishes, and libations in a comfortable modern farmhouse setting. Highly recommend booking in advance. A bit further a far from Wardensville and the Lost River Valley, there are a range of activities including hiking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hunting, and seasonal skiing to enjoy.

  • Buckeye Adventures place exceeded all my expectations! The place was stylish and super cozy. The owners thought of everything when it came to supplying all the bathroom essentials and kitchen essentials. As a traveler you wouldn’t need to bring much but clothing to feel at home here. Corn hole and fire pit outside for entertainment. Owners were quick to respond via message and cared that everything was going smoothly on the trip. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Highly, highly recommend staying at Maureen’s cabin. I went for a weekend trip with a friend and we each had the best time relaxing in this beautifully serene and secluded pocket of WV (especially considering these crazy times). The cabin is stylishly decorated and well equipped with amenities for a weekend away from technology (absolutely no phone service or WiFi). We especially enjoyed the indoor fireplace, the backgammon board, and the croquet set :-). Our trip happened at the beginning of spring, so the trees surrounding us were still bare — I can’t imagine how beautiful this spot is during the later spring or early fall. Either way, this cabin is a great escape from the usual routine of life, when you are seeking easy relaxation! Can’t wait to come back.

    Marcie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was absolutely perfect. The space was clean, incredibly stylish, and as cozy as we could have hoped. The location was beautiful and remote. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a weekend away from civilization, including wifi and cell service. Maureen was very responsive, and her cabin included so many great little touches. Even on the last day we noticed things they'd done to make their cabin special. Highly recommend for a getaway.

    Marc2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was really great!

    Andrew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little cabin! We have stayed in many cabins around the area and this was the best one yet. All of the amenities were just a little better and you could see the thoughtful touches all over the cabin. We are already talking about our next visit.

    Brian2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin in a beautiful area. Very well thought out for the traveler, easy to get to, great location. This cabin is obviously well loved and cared for by the owners and that heart shows in the space. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place in this area. Great space for a digital detox too! I was grateful to be fully off the cell phone/internet “grid.”

    Jen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little cabin in the woods. The personal touches like fresh fir and a welcome note placed upon the bath robes and the fact that this quaint little cabin is stocked with everything you would ever need, makes the experience unforgettable. I cannot recommend this Airbnb or Maureen enough. Perfect weekend away from everyday life.

    Cody2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a lovely little getaway stocked with just about everything you will need, including lots of nice personal touches, some fun books and games, etc. The location was great for my interests - close to lots of good hiking trails, in a woodsy setting, but still close to good roads and easily accessed from DC. The only real drawback was the lack of wifi and cell service (which is clearly described in the listing), which made navigating to hiking trails, among other things, challenging. Being off the grid can be nice, but make sure you are more prepared than I was and download or print out everything you might need!

    Laura2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful get away place! No Verizon cell service in the area makes for a nice get away. It is a good idea to print out directions before driving here as you will lose cell service about 10 miles before you reach the cabin. The cabin was very clean and had a fully stocked kitchen and the bathroom had plenty of toiletries. I think the best hiking spot is at Lost State Park (white Oak Trail leads to Cranny Crow Overlook).

STAY 1 NIGHT, Mon-Thurs! Enjoy stunning views of the Blue Ridge mountains... a sight best enjoyed from the decks off the master bedroom and dining room, while kicking back in the swinging chairs on the patio or while relaxing in the Jacuzzi tub. Hiking, fishing, kayaking, and swimming are conveniently available. Picnic outdoors under the patio area, enjoy s'mores around the fire pit or throw a game of corn hole in the back yard. Come and enjoy the adventures that await you at Vista Grande!
Vista Grande comfortably sleeps 6, with beautiful views from the dining room deck, kitchen window, as well as the deck off one of the bedrooms. Views also can be enjoyed while relaxing in the large Jacuzzi tub or sitting in the swinging chairs on the patio! A large stone fireplace provides warmth for cozy and/or romantic evenings and a fire pit out back is perfect for roasting hot dogs, making s'mores, or just relaxing after the days end to share stories and good times. Please note, Vista Grande is not located in a secluded area, there are other homes in the area however most are other rentals and the neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful!! Regarding pets, please refer to "other things to note" for our pet policy and fee... also, charcoal for grill and firewood for fireplace / fire pit are not provided (firewood can be found locally for purchase). F.Y.I. --- for those with groups larger than 6, Vista Grande is next door to another one of our properties, "Relax at Acorn Hill" (which also sleeps 6)... although separated by a wooded lot, homes are close enough to walk between yet separate enough to enjoy a quiet and relaxing stay at both locations.
there is much to do depending on your likes... the Shenandoah River is close by for canoeing/kayaking, many hiking trails throughout the national parks and nearby areas, shop flea markets and antiques stores, visit local Virginia wineries, or just sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery while relaxing on one of the decks.
  • Great communication, had everything we needed just had to bring groceries just like they said! Check in and out was a breeze, the location its self comes with an incredible view, the neighbors were nice and respected our privacy, other neighbor is another rental down the street! Coulda sat in tub all day long

    Robert2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view! The area is amazing and this place showcases it well. The house was fairly small, but just big enough that our family of 4 did not feel tight. I also enjoyed that I could let my 1 year old crawl around and not worry about his safety with no stairs. The host was quick to respond to my questions and provided many amenities you would need away from home. There were also many games and dvds. We did have some confusion with the tv (a little manual would help). Loved just soaking up the view in all the rooms. Thanks again!

    Michelle2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Vista Grande was perfect for a weekend getaway from the city. Kitchen had everything you would need. A double porch allowed for beautiful views of the mountains. A nice relaxing jacuzzi tub. Ending up extending our getaway no only because of the property, but also because of Becky & David. Super communicative and flexible with us ending up staying around two extras nights. Can’t wait to come back!

    Jane2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place. The view is truly stunning, and the cabin itself is fantastic. Super cozy, has everything you need, is very clean, and has great air conditioning and heating. The hosts were very nice, communicative, helpful, and easy to reach.

  • This place is beautiful with wonderful mountain views. Lots of places to hike in the area. We hiked to the top of Kennedy Peak, which is about a 15 min drive from the house. We also visited Luray Caverns. I highly recommend staying at one of David and Becky's homes!

  • Great place. Fabulous hosts.

    Thibault2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place. Great view and located close to many places to visit. Loved the Wood stove and wood. Thanks for sharing your vacation home with us!

    Margaret2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place for a short getaway. The space was comfortable, stylish, and very clean. We really enjoyed the wood burning stove and great views. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a mountain retreat.

    Kelly2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The space was stylish and clean, with all the amenities you will need for a weekend away. The views from the house were spectacular and being able to come back to a cozy living room with a wood stove was definitely great. John and Parker were very quick with their communications and helpful whenever we had a question. We would highly recommend staying here.

  • Great place but even greater owners.

    Keith2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cabin/home! Loved the coziness and openness of the space and it is a treat to see the stars at night. We took up John and Parker's recommendations and enjoyed hiking at Lake Laura and the Big Schloss, as well as lunch at the Woodstock Garden Cafe. We look forward to returning!

    Kristina2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • John & Parker’s place was exactly as advertised. The place was very clean, well equipped, and the fireplace was a nice touch. During our stay there were no curtains in the living and dining areas but the open concept gave the space a lot of light during daytime. The kitchen had everything you need to cook with. The bathroom was spacious and clean with some storage space for your essentials. The views from the living room and main bedroom was nice to wake up to. Even though there were neighbors, they were far enough to where you couldn’t see their living spaces. It was a bit of a drive to get to the nearest grocery store but that comes with the location. Thank you John & Parker for the lovely accommodation and quick responses to all of our questions. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a weekend getaway with a mountain view!

    Abi2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at John and Parker’s cozy cabin. Beautiful space, great view, helpful directions. We’ll be visiting again, I’m sure.

  • Our stay Debbie's place was great. It was cozy with an excellent view. We'd went away for our anniversary and she left us a bottle of wine!

    Caren2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had such a wonderful time at Debbies place. Everything was exactly as pictured and described. It was perfect for our weekend away from the city. Would definitely recommend staying here so you can take in the beautiful views that her property offers!

    Roger2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway in the mountains. The views were great, the house was super clean, and Debbie is a very friendly host! It was a short drive to the ski resort and my daughter loved all the board games in the house. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

    Kendra2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was SO CLEAN and comfortable. The property is lovely. Too bad the weather was awful or else we’d have explored more.

    Becca2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a secluded and private getaway in the middle of the countryside this is for you. And it's reasonably close to hiking and outdoor areas. The pictures didn't do justice for the views and the quality of the interior of the cottage. If we are ever back in the blue ridge mountains, we will definitely be reaching out to Debbie.

    Kevin2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location and scenery! The view of the mountains were outstanding. I strongly recommend doing some stargazing at night! The place itself was comfortable, cozy, clean, and exactly what you want in a mountain getaway.

  • The house was everything that we needed and then some. There are thoughtful touches all over the place to make sure you have a comfortable stay. We had so much fun with the fire pits (there are three!) and the hot tub. Brenda is thoughtful and goes the extra mile. Stay here for a wonderful escape from the city. Take care of the place so others may enjoy it, too!

    Shanaz2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This house is truly set up for 5-star stay! The host was welcoming and tentative to any needs or questions we had. The house itself was very clean and very cozy, where you could relax and watch a movie or play a game of chess. If you were looking to enjoy some air, the side patio had the large tub and plenty of space for some catch. The kitchen was also fully stalked with kitchen ware and plenty of cooking space. The 2 main floor bedrooms were SUPER COMFORTABLE! Loved this stay very much! Will definitely return!

    Kimberly2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! It was well kept, clean, and in a gorgeous location. We had everything we needed and more. The thoughtful gifts and touches made us feel so welcome. The hot tub was lovely! The house either met or exceeded our expectations!

    Amy2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in the mountains with tons of amenities and fantastic hot tub. Very quiet with lots of options for hiking pretty close

    Jacob2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the best Airbnb I've stayed in. The amenities and special touches such as a personal note and welcome goodies basket were top notch. Brenda was always accessible and went out of her way to assist with any questions we had. We are looking forward to visiting her home in warmer weather. Thank you for making this such an enjoyable vacation for us!

    Laurie2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a great stay. We will definitely try to make it back again. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

    Jonathan2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous place to stay! We stayed with our two young children and my parents and the house had something for everyone. Books, games and puzzles, toys and a room that had my three year old entranced, and the wonderful hot tub. The kitchen (indeed the whole house) is extremely well-equipped and stocked with all the essentials. The location is remote enough to feel that you’re away from it all but conveniently close to Luray and other hubs. Brenda was fantastic to communicate with and our whole experience was just a delight. Would recommend to anyone and we will definitely be coming back in the future.

    Nadine2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • I knew dream view house would be perfect for myself, my husband and young adult daughter, and it was even better than I expected or that photos can show. The front deck was a favorite place to hang out with our dogs, and the location was close to so many towns —five breweries, Luray Caverns, great hiking trails, etc. After a day of adventure coming home to this lovely place was paradise! Now, I want to come back to visit soon. We drove up from Florida, but it was less than 2 hours from my daughters DC area place, so a perfect meeting place & common ground for us. The dog beds and outside porches made the pups welcome too!

  • The cabin was absolutely wondeful. The campfire, view, and hottub all made the experience truly unique

    Sam2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was nestled in the mountains - it was very serene and had a lovely view! We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the home and the amount of space. My colleagues and will certainly return if we ever head back to the area! The last bit of the drive involves a steep hill and a gravel road, so be sure to bring a car that can handle that!

  • We had such a great stay at Grand View Cabin--the best birthday I have had in a long time! The cabin is comfortable and cozy and my granddaughters loved sleeping in a "tree house." The little touches like the Brita water pitcher in the refrigerator and brochures for local attractions were very nice. I appreciated that everything was so neat and clean. The host-to-guest communication was excellent, especially the directions.

  • This cabin is really thoughtfully put together, and in such a beautiful spot! We loved taking some time to slow down. My only wish is that the weather be slightly warmer next time so that we can be on the gorgeous porch even more.

    Kate2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet - secluded - peaceful - beautiful - perfect getaway for my wife and I and our daughter. From the outside fire pit to the hammock to the thoughtful and warm interior, this mountain cabin checks all the boxes. Clean with all the essentials and a few thoughtful touches to include a trip guide with local attractions were great touches. Thanks again Rachael and family.

  • Beautiful cabin surrounded by trees and a peaceful view of the mountains; it was the perfect place to disconnect from reality and recharge. Our 3 year and 1 year old enjoyed running around the open floor space and playing with the toys provided. We didn't have to worry about any sharp corners or dangerous spaces they could wonder into. We had a baby gate provided for the steps, it was awesome to be able to lay back and relax while they had fun. The place is very cozy but roomy enough for everyone. We can't wait to come back!!

    Paula & David2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a quiet weekend away. The space is very cozy and Rachael has added so much thoughtful touches (including local wine and coffee). The incredible views disrupted our plans for the weekend because we had to be sure to get back to watch the sunset from the porch. Loved the area, they provided a map with suggestions for wineries, hikes, etc. in the area. Highly highly recommend.

    Deborah2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at The Laurin! Rachel and Jonathan have a beautiful place that is well-appointed and cozy in the most beautiful setting. They were very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to questions. Highly recommend this place!

    Sarah2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful location to stay at. My boyfriend and I love escaping to the mountains and this spot provided a great view and secluded area to do that. The fireplaces inside and outside were perfect to sit by in the morning and evening. During the day we visited a Cidery and went hiking in Shenendoah. The space is very cute and has comfortable amenities for any group staying. Only 2 very small things I noticed. The first is that there is no dishwasher - so be ready to hand wash dishes. Second, occasionally you might notice a bug or two if you don’t keep the windows shut (it is in the woods of course!). We would absolutely stay here again.

Completed in 2016, this cozy retreat features one of the best views of the Shenandoah Valley. Mountain Music is tied to the natural beauty that surrounds it. You can sit quietly & hear the sounds of Mother Nature. Hawks & Bald Eagles often fly overhead...you may even spot deer or a black bear in the field below! Even though you'll feel as though you're "miles away from it all" rest assured that civilization is only a short drive away. Luray is only 8 miles south & Front Royal is 17 miles north.
  • Amazing views and plenty of stuff to do around Luray and Front Royal. Great for kids and adults alike. This was my first AirBnB experience and it was a good one. The drive up the mountain was rocky and fun for me in the Jeep.

  • This cabin is amazing! The view is so incredibly gorgeous and the atmosphere is so relaxing. It was the perfect getaway

    Brittany2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s place was great ! It was clean in all areas and fully stocked on kitchen utensils we needed. after our first night we lost heat and cable TV and the duty manager on site was quick to bring us space heaters in multiple rooms which heated the place right away. He was able to effectively trouble shoot the TV and we got more channels in minutes. Very accommodating. Very quick responses from Caroline and duty manager accessibility. The hot tub was a great touch to our trip. We didn’t get to use the grill as much as expected since we forgot foil but the oven worked just as good. Beautiful views and easy directions to find the place and very detailed. Caroline was accommodating to our check in time and check out which helped with kids. Kid friendly place for sure . Highly recommended and would definitely be back .

    Elissa2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s cabin was the perfect weekend retreat! My husband and I enjoyed the weekend relaxing and taking in the beautiful views! The cabin kitchen has all the cooking tools required, TV available if you want, and a very well organized cabin that would have been great for two other friends to come with us. You will definitely need AWD / 4WD to get up to the cabin!
