Vacation Rentals in Selinsgrove

Just booked in Selinsgrove

“Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there someday.” A.A. Milne, in Winnie the Pooh Sunny riverfront 4 BR, 2BA with wrap-around deck, peaceful views, paddling, hiking, world-class fishing, abundant bird life, in central Pennsylvania.
With many beautiful and little-known covered bridges, Amish farms, real farmers' markets, and one of the few remaining drive-in movies in the United States, this area in central PA is almost a step back in time. The house is close to the charming village of Selinsgrove, to Bucknell University, Susquehanna University, at least 13 vineyards, thousands of acres of state forest lands for hiking, and glorious, rolling fields of corn in the heart of summer. Only a few yards from the river, it has lots of light and a warm, simple feeling. Family meals are a pleasure in the sun room that overlooks the river. There are two floors plus a basement where the boats are stored, two full baths, one large bedroom with full bed on first floor, one large bedroom with full bed on second, and two other bedrooms upstairs, one with two twins, one with one. The lot has plenty of parking space and can easily accommodate four cars. We routinely see bald eagles (there are at least two nesting pairs on the islands), kingfishers, mergansers, swallows, herons, orioles, song sparrows, nuthatches, egrets, and many other birds. There are active river otters just off our beach--seen several times in 2017. There are deer on the islands, sometimes wading across river channels. In the state forests, we have seen black bears and many wild turkeys, hawks, woodpeckers.
Selinsgrove bills itself as "three hours from everywhere" and that seems about right. It is in central PA north of Harrisburg, about 3.5 hours from NYC, 3 hours from Philadelphia, 3 hours from Baltimore and 3.5 hours from Washington DC. Most of the houses on river road are summer or vacation homes, and there is much more to do in the region in the summer, but there are some full-time residents there and the winter views can be lovely. Parts of the river commonly freeze over by February. Nearby farms offer wonderful summer corn, fresh eggs from free-range chickens, and heirloom tomatoes and apples. There are vineyards nearby, a fascinating Big Cat Rescue center, a buggy museum, the world's largest inflatable dam, and Lake Augusta, for large power boats, just up river.
  • Susan was very responsive to all of the questions I had about this residence. She was incredibly helpful and timely and her follow up. I booked the house on behalf of guests in town, so I did not actually stay on the property. My guests found the house very charming and comfortable.

    Sara2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a great experience. The house is quiet, warm, clean, and has all we needed (pots, towels, shampoo samples, ...). The dining room overlooking the river is just beautiful. Susan is a wonderful host, very responsive and helpful.

    Viviana2014-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the porch! We spent a lot of time enjoying the view of the river. Plenty of sheets and towels. Our dogs had a great time running in the yard. Overall a peaceful weekend away!

    Ashley2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our host was professional, thorough and helpful. The house was represented well online and everything was as expected. There are amenities close by and the neighborhood was peaceful and away from through traffic, which is a bonus if you have kids. We loved being on the river, especially in the mornings for sunrise. Absolutely lovely.

    Emmet2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house is absolutely beautiful. The river is an unbeatable backdrop. The house contains all that you need for a relaxing stay

    Heather2015-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was great. She sent us all the information we needed the week before the trip and was available if we needed anything (which we didn't). The house had a few issues (the plumbing was not vented, meaning the drains gurgled and backed up a lot; some of the porch steps seemed to be rotting/unsafe), but all around, it was great. The porch is fantastic. The neighborhood was very quiet, and access to the river was super easy. The shore itself wasn't the best (very rocky and narrow), but we had fun fishing.

    Mel2014-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay in Susan's river house. House was right on the river and had a beautiful view from the deck and living room. We had a great time using the kayaks and exploring the islands. There is lots of wildlife in the area, saw bald eagles multiple times/day. Susan sent a thorough packet prior to our stay with all the informtion we needed about the house, kayaks and things to do in the area. The packet was so informative we did not even need to contact the host! House comes with laminated maps for exploring river and islands. Would love to come back!

    Mary2014-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was a wonderful host and the home that we stayed in was amazing. Just as described on the listing. We really had a blast and her home had everything we needed for a successful weekend. There was a supermarket about 5 minutes away, open 24 hours. That was really nice to have. The view at dusk it's phenomenal. There was a huge deck and large backyard with river views as well. I'd definitely want to go again during the summer. There are canoes, and the river looks great for a swim. Thank you Susan!

    Susquehanna River House
    80 reviews
This lovely first floor living area is on the Isle of Que, 300 yards from the Susquehanna River. It is a short walk to restaurants, playgrounds, and Susquehanna University. Perfect location for those who love fishing, kayaking, and the outdoors.
The house is located 300 yards from the Susquehanna River. The first floor accommodations are cheery and have easy access from the street and side parking area. The house has all the amenities of home. The kitchen is fully equipped with all that you would need to cook a meal and/or entertain. There is seating in the kitchen as well as the dining room. The sunroom/laundry room has a patio table and chairs. There is also a small outdoor patio area with a patio table and two chairs. The master bedroom is in the back of the house, so it is quiet when resting. There is a second bedroom with two single beds. The bathroom is bright and cheery. Linens, toiletries, etc. are available for use. An iron and iron board are also available. The home is clean and well maintained. It is a lovely spot for a quiet get away.
The neighborhood is on the Isle of Que, situated between Penns Creek and the Susquehanna River. The river front is ideal for walking and running. It extend three miles to the southern tip of the island. Quaint houses and cottages dot the river bank, as well open fields and farm land. A boat ramp is about a half mile from the house. Picnic tables are available and fishing is allowed. The boat ramp is good for launching flat bottom fishing boats, kayaks, and canoes. People also put inner tubes in and lazily float down the river on hot summer days. Eagles and Herons are spotted on a daily basis. Fishing is good for bass, catfish, muskies, and walleyes throughout the year.
  • My wife and I are planning on renting out a room in our basement on Airbnb and Marilyn was a perfect example of how we should try to host! Thanks again.

    Kyle2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here is everything you could ask for. The house was clean, quiet, and extremely comfortable. Marilyn was also extremely nice. 5 out of 5!

    Nathan2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was the third time that my wife and I stayed at Marilyn's place, and it was wonderful as always. This time I just happened to mention to her that a kettle would be really nice in the kitchen for making tea. The next day a brand new kettle magically appeared on the stove. The care that Marilyn puts into making this a perfect, memorable stay cannot be underestimated. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

    Damion2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great - very comfortable and everything we needed for our family of five. Marilyn was a great host and attentive to our needs. She was very available and responsive.

    Daniel2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn was great, very sweet and hospitable and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Just steps away from the Susquehanna River, this place is truly relaxing and homey! Thanks so much to Marilyn for helping us enjoy our stay and for being flexible when we had requests. Would definitely stay here again.

    Ian2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn's home was centrally located but yet is on a quiet island about a block from the river. We traveled with my 3 year old great niece who loved walking to the river. Marilyn and Bill were great hosts and very helpful with information on the area. The home was very comfy and relaxing with everything needed for our stay.

    Gale2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Pine Street Place served our family of four very well. The detailed descriptions matched what we experienced. The space is furnished as a home and felt comfortable as our home away from home. Marilyn accommodated our request for a slightly earlier check-in time, so we could get settled before heading to an afternoon wedding. Our only regret is that our schedule didn't allow us to stay longer. We hope to return sometime.

    Mark2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn and Bill are truly super hosts. The location is great and the place is very comfortable with everything you need. Try not to burn anything- the smoke alarm is sensitive. I set it off twice burning toast. . They didn’t seem to hold it against me.

Steps from the Susquehanna river on the Isle of Que. This is a very large, furnished 1-bedroom upstairs apartment. You can access the Susquehanna River via the public launch nearby, and you can even borrow a kayak or bicycle during your stay.
It has private entry, a large living room, large kitchen/dining room, washer/dryer, and a relaxing private balcony. A large lawn and off-street parking gives you plenty of room to spread out, explore and enjoy the Isle of Que.
Friendly community with lots of vacationers walking along the river.
  • Super cozy place to stay. We enjoyed our stay. Very convenient to the University.

    Melissa2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Place was exactly as advertised. Would stay here again in a heartbeat if I was in the area again

    Gary2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Adam's space was lovely, with more amenities than some hotels! The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of space, and the kitchen was well-stocked. The location was beautiful; we stopped by the river in the morning before continuing on our way south to the beach. Would absolutely stop through here again!

    Samantha2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Make sure you allow extra time to enjoy this apartment! If you don't you will be disappointed in yourself!

    Michelle 2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Adam was very gracious and easy to communicate with, and his place was lovely! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

    Emmeline2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Adam was a great host! His place was very clean and exactly how he described. Loved that it was walking distance from downtown, but also a bit away from the craziness. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our Homecoming weekend stay and would love to stay at this location again in the future!

    Cory2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was perfect for us. We were in town visiting our son at Susquehanna University. Close enough to walk to campus and downtown. Adam keeps the place very well stocked and clean. We've stayed at the Hampton Inn many times in the past but will most likely stay at Adam's in the future.

    Kasey2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • A truly wonderful apartment in an absolutely stunning location. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well featured. Adam was a great host, and we would definitely recommend staying here to others.

Our home has an attached 1 bedroom, 1 full bath apartment; just under 400 square feet. Also has a full kitchen and private entrances. Located in the heart of the Central Susquehanna River Valley. Walking distance to Susquehanna University.
1 bedroom apartment/in-law suite attached to our home with just enough space for a small family or a couple. Sleeping accommodations for four, though I think the most comfortable arrangement would be 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. I also have a pack and play, I could set up for small children (infants/toddlers). Pets may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Very family friendly, quiet neighborhood, farmed fields behind our home. Ball park/children's playground and Susquehanna University within walking distance. *If you are joining us in the spring, summer or early fall over the weekends you will hear our speedway races taking place*
  • Andrea was great--very kind and patient when our schedule was changed. She made us feel very welcome and the place itself was good for our needs.

    Scott2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • We found our stay to be of value . The place was roomy and clean . It was well stocked with towels , blankets, sheets and other basic amenities. Even though it was attached to the house we found it to very private . We will definitely stay there again .

    Joe2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were lucky enough to get to stay here again and had another wonderful experience! Andrea and her family are so helpful and so accommodating. The apartment description is accurate; cozy for us and 4 furry babies. There were a lot of amenities in the apartment and it was very clean and tidy. The surrounding community is wonderful; very quiet neighborhood, friendly neighbors, close to anything and everything you need. Andrea and her family are wonderful people that will go beyond what is expected to ensure you are comfortable and have a great experience. Thank you for hosting our little family and we pray continued blessings for your little family.

    Jami2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea was wonderful! She made us feel very welcome and even provided local snacks and information. She told us how to get a hold of her if we needed anything.

    Laura2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea made us feel very welcome with her thoughtfulness: water, soda, snacks, coffee, a Guest Manual containing info on restaurants and local attractions, and providing an opportunity for guests to leave comments. The manual enabled us to find a restaurant to eat shortly after we arrived. The dwelling was just as it was described, although we had the option of using one or both bedrooms in the apartment. The neighborhood is very peaceful, which allowed for a refreshing sleep. The parking was perfect. Andrea was very responsive to our questions AND very flexible with our arrival time, which was several hours later than planned. It was nice to get to meet her and her two children; adorable!

    Shirley2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! I highly recommend it.

    Holly2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea is a fantastic host. Communicates well before arrival. She has just completed a remodel of the place, it is terrific.

    Kimberly2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea and I had great communication upon my arrival. She gave clear instructions of the do's and don't's. Andrea was out and about when I arrived and I let myself in. I was greeted by a happy card welcoming me. When Andrea arrived home a bit later she knocked to say hello. The location was in a VERY nice neighborhood really close to Susquehanna College. The availability was great for my short notice about needing a place to stay. I was happy it was available. Andrea was very friendly and her daughter was as cute as a button and the dog was friendly too!

In the heart of Downtown! Steps away from Susquehanna University, Restaurants, Riverfront, Parks, etc....Queen bed w/en-suite bath. Private entrance with keyed entry. Owners live on site. Discount offered when booked with the Governor Curtin Room.
Once upon a time.....Pennsylvania Governors Hartranft and Curtin were guests to this grand home. In recent years, we acquired the property with intentions of restoring to its original grandeur. The Governor Hartranft room showcases original fireplace, hardwood floors, & windows. Although, we've added the modern convenience of a bathroom.
Walk out the front door, and guests are steps away from Susquehanna University, downtown businesses, and outdoor activities. For the adventurers - kayak Penns Creek or Susquehanna River ending your day at Selin's Grove Brewing. Romantics may prefer an evening of music and culinary delight at Isabella. Life-long friends reuniting for a weekend of stories and fun may enjoy long-standing establishments such as BJ's or Bot's (Botdorf's).
  • We stayed in the Governor Hartranft Room 11/3 - 11/5/17. Bobbi is a wonderful host and it was great getting to know her! Her breakfasts were a delicious, wonderful way to start our day. She included thoughtful amenities; snacks and refreshments available 24/7. The location to Susquehanna University and downtown Selinsgrove is perfect. The room was larger than we expected and was equipped with a great shower and in-room sink. She does note road noise in the listing and that is true.

  • Bobbie communicated with me prior to my arrival to ensure that I would have a great stay. I was "greeted" by a small bowl of chocolates, a very nice touch for the traveller with a sweet tooth. The home is very charming, meticulously maintained, and located in the center of town. I stayed in the Hartranft room. Bobbie has managed to preserve the original beauty and integrity of the home while also providing modern updates. I would definitely stay here again!

This house resides on a peninsula called the Isle of Que. It is a two-bedroom charming home on the waterfront of the Susquehanna River and the home of Susquehanna University. The house has a fully furnished kitchen, waterfront deck, enclosed front porch, pool, outdoor fireplace, and hot tub.
This is a waterfront, historical property on the picturesque Isle of Que peninsula in the small town of Selinsgrove, PA. USA. It is a five mile isle along the Susquehanna River and Penn's Creek. The house is in a residential section of town, but is within walking distance of the downtown restaurants, bars, and shops.
The neighborhood is a friendly, close-knit residential area with Isle of Que natives who have lived on the river their entire lives. Guests are welcome by the community to use the house bicycles, kayak on the Susquehanna River, take walks and runs on the riverfront, sit on the deck, have a picnic lunch at the boat launch, participate in downtown festivities such as The Rudy Gelnett Music series ( rock), Music at the Gazebo ( big band), Hops, Vines, and Wines festival, TATA Trot, Antiques on the Avenue, children's library programs at the Rudy Gelnett library, supervised playground programs at KidsGrove, athletic events at the high school and collegiate level, Tree Fest, the artist's series, community gardens, and downtown dining and shopping.
  • If you have business or pleasure in turn around Selinsgrove Pennsylvania, the Isle of que guest house is a wonderful place to spend your down time. The owners of the guest house leave it sparkling clean and loaded full of amenities such as coffee and soft drinks as well as a few beers that start your trip off just right. I have no difficulty recommending the place to other weary Travelers

    Ekaterine2015-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really pleasant get-a-way. They have nicely merged modern amenities with an appearance of the old. More importantly for a city-dweller, the house is tight enough that unless someone is doing something especially energetic outside, the house is infused with the silence of peace, and, when your jangled nerves have settled back down, you can pop in your own CD's and enjoy the sounds of your choice without all the distracting side-noise. There is a large window in the living room and a delightful porthole-like window at the top of the stairs through which you can watch the river glide by, see the antics of the squirrels, or ponder the activities of all the birds. During the 9 days I was there Cardinals, Blue Jays, Robins, Finches, Sparrows, and Blackbirds made near-daily appearances, as did wild Ducks, Geese, small Gulls, and Swifts out on the river, whose darting, swirling, diving, dabbling, and/or paddling were a joy to watch. To top it off, I was afforded a nice view of an big Osprey that came and made some circles through the air close to the house as well. Definitely a nice respite if you are getting worn down by trying to do the too much too fast in the midst of the too many who are likewise hurrying through the too noisy land of brick, block, and concrete.

    Richard2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Christie and her husband were so kind and welcoming. They welcomed our family with open arms and even supplied marshmallows to roast at the outdoor fireplace when our sassy 6 yr old asked if they had any marshmallows. We spent the weekend celebrating our 28th Wedding Anniversary with our children and on our last day we had friends and family come to the house to have an outdoor barbeque. It was to celebrate our daughter's high school graduation. The setting is gorgeous and relaxing. We only live about 7 minutes from the property, but we wanted somewhere special for our daughter's party and this proved to be a perfect place. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the home, the river and the hospitality of the hosts.

Our home is "your home away from home" We live in the country and enjoy all that comes with living in a rural setting. We encourage you to relax on our wrap around porch, in the summer watch the "lightning bugs", or enjoy a swim in the pool, in the fall enjoy the crispness of the air and the changing leaves, in the winter it is best to enjoy from the warm comforts of the house, unless of course you are of a "hardy nature". Our WELCOME mat is always at our door!
We live in a "remodeled" 2 story 1890 ish farmhouse in a rural setting. There is the "babbling brook" in the backyard that is often visited by the local heron looking for a fish snack. We are close to the Susquehanna River for fishing or keeping an eye out for the bald eagles. Our woods are home to many critters, deer, foxes, raccoons and we can often hear the hooting of the owls. Bucknell University in Lewisburg is about a 20 minute drive as well as the many fine restaurants and unique shops. Selinsgrove as well is home to Susquehanna University and also boasts of good restaurants and shops and is about an 8 minute drive. We are surrounded by beautiful farms and farmland and the quaint Amish /Mennonite communities. There are always fruit and vegetables stands that are often manned only by the "honor system" We think we have the best of both worlds and look forward to hosting you if only for a brief one night stay or a relaxing weekend
Small, quiet, and friendly community where you can feel safe walking down the street at any time of the day/night.

  • We wanted a peaceful and scenic alternative to our family weekend at Susquehanna University, and this was just the place! Nancy welcomed us into her beautifully decorated home surrounded by a cornfield, a brook with the serene sound of running water, and a colorful landscaped hilltop. Gracie their dog was well behaved and greeted us with a wagging tail after she got to know us. Definitely worth the trip if your in vicinity of Selinsgrove!

Very quiet neighborhood..with the exception of the alarm clock birds early mornings. They get really excited early mornings, to know they are alive. :)
  • Great spot for our recent overnight for a wedding in Milton, easy check in/out. Would stay here again!

  • The place is just as described. It's a cozy, clean place to stay. It's a great location that is close to many attractions in the area. It was about 30 minutes from Bald Eagle State Forest and about 25 minutes from Knoebel's Amusement Park. We spent the morning exploring the state forest and then went to Knoebels to relive my wife's childhood. It's fairly close to Mifflinburg, Lewisburg, and Sunbury. Both Mifflinburg and Sunbury were great dining options. The neighborhood is very quiet and just what we needed after a rain soaked day at the state forest and a night of spinny rides at Knoebels. The apartment is true to how Danielle describes it. My wife would have been fine with staying there and just reading a book on the couch all night on a rainy Saturday night. Had my wife not needed her yearly fill of tri-tators and pierogies followed by a go around on the Flying Dutchmen we probably would have begun to read a book on fell asleep on her couch. It was very cozy, comfortable, and clean. It's defintely a place to consider if you are looking for a place to stay while out in the area. Thank you for a great night away from home.

    Won2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The home is as described by the host. Would not hesitate for a minute to say again in the future. Super clean and quite accomadating.

    Evelyn2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle has great communication, made sure we had everything we needed. Easy check in and out. Perfect little apartment for 1-2 people. No Wi-Fi connection FYI, but definitely not a deal breaker. Fair pricing and great host. Would rent from her again!

    Andrew2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Home was charming, comfortable and clean. Danielle was responsive and welcoming. She checked in to see if there is anything I may need. Highly recommend this Air BnB!!

    Cathy2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle's was the cozy oasis we were hoping for! Easy to locate and a beautiful drive from Philly. Town is extremely quiet and peaceful, which suited us just fine. I will note that the bed is a plush pillowtop, so if you're used to a firmer mattress, prepare for an adjustment.

    Jocelyn2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had wedding events to attend in Danville and Sunbury so the location of Danielle's place was perfect. Her communication was quick and friendly and she was able to get the place ready for us on short notice. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and centrally located in the small town of Northumberland. We were able to go on a morning run from the apartment and through the nearby state park, which was convenient. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you just need a place to crash.

    Jason2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle communicated throughout the planning and arrival of our trip. She is exceptional and more than willing to assist with anything you need. She was very accommodating and one of the cleanliest air bnb hosts I have yet to experience. Everything was exactly how she stated. We never met face to face, but she made our arrival easy with a convenient key location. This location is very convenient to Bucknell University, as we easily hopped between the two places for our 3 days here. If you are looking for the basics in a safe, clean, and warm apartment for two adults and perhaps a young adult, her apartment is a deal. If we are in this area in the future, we would definitely stay with her again. Thanks Danielle!

  • What a great place! Comfortable bed, beautiful home, friendly family! What more could you ask for. Robin's house is accurately described on the listing - you will be glad you chose to stay here.

  • Robin's home is in a very quiet, mountain town. Her home is lovely. My room was quaint and cozy. I slept quite well, in fact. Robin and her daughters were incredibly welcoming. I feel like I've known them for years! They also have a cute, friendly cat.

    jennifer2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is an excellent host. Her house is beautiful, clean and located at the end of the road in a quiet, woody neighborhood. It feels like country but it is only about 6 minutes from downtown Lewisburg where there is a bunch of places to eat and shop. I had a couple of questions before my stay and Robin answered them in a timely manner. I met her daughters as well, they are very kind and friendly and enjoy talking to people from all over the world. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and if I am ever again in the Lewisburg area I wouldn't look anywhere else.

    Tomas2017-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is very welcoming and her house is very homey. We felt like we were just coming to stay with relatives!

In the heart of Downtown! Steps away from Susquehanna University, Restaurants, Riverfront, Parks, etc... Queen bed w/en-suite bath. Private entrance with keyed room entry. Owners live on site. Discount offered when booked with our Governor Hartranft Room.
Once upon a time.....Pennsylvania Governors Hartranft and Curtin were guests to this grand home. In recent years, we acquired the property with intentions of restoring to its original grandeur. The Governor Curtin room showcases original fireplace, hardwood floors, & windows.
  • Great room in a cool, historic house with a lot of character. Bed was very comfortable and the host was accommodating, pleasant, and responsive. Enjoyed our stay!

  • Lovely room in a fabulous location! We enjoyed the breakfast treats and conversation about the area and local restaurants. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

  • If you are coming for a reunion and don't want to drive, this is the place to stay! So convenient, we were able to walk to campus, go down to the isle and grab a drink or bite in town, this is the place to be! Very comfortable bed, quiet and Bobbie is more than accommodating and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

    Laura2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We were very comfortable (a great bed) and enjoyed the very convenient location on a charming street with restaurants within a short walk. Bobbi is a wonderful host.

    Paul2017-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I returned with my girlfriend to Selinsgrove for my 20-year anniversary at Susquehanna University. Bobbie was there to meet us and was amazingly friendly and updated me on new places in town. She has a min-fridge with wine, beer, water, humus, and cheese and told us to help ourselves. For us, the location was perfect. It is steps away from the majority of pubs and restaurants in the area. Also, Susquehanna University was only a few blocks away. Despite this central location we had no noise in our room and could enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. Every morning Bobbie put out coffee and fresh baked muffins. Awesome. To be honest, the room looks better than it does in the pictures. It is spacious and extremely clean and comfortable. We will def stay here again in the future.

    Bryan2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great, we loved the breakfast provided (we had cranberry nut bread one day and the muffins/pastries on day two with coffee, juice, yogurts, and fruit. The room was very comfortable and clean. The amenities of the hair blow drier, bottled water, soaps, etc came in handy and were very appreciated. Bobbie was very hospitable and communicated very well with us. We had a late arrival (3 am due to car trouble on the way out) and she was very helpful and accommodating in getting us all the information we needed to check ourselves in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!

    Summer2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • After an initial miscommunication about the door code, Bobbie came immediately to let us in, and we enjoyed our stay in the small town of Selinsgrove and in this convenient location. Bobbie gave great advice on local (and walkable!) restaurants and was super friendly.

  • We loved our stay at Jon's house - spacious and clean with a beautiful view of the river. Easy check in and check out, and Jon was very flexible with our arrival time - thank you!

    Arthur2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for an excellent place to stay during our Thanksgiving holiday and son's wedding. It was perfect for our family to have four bedrooms and large kitchen. Huge family room for everyone to watch football. Every morning we enjoyed the absolutely beautiful view of the river! Sunrise was amazing. It is important to note when renting the full house, it does not include the detached suite. It was not a problem at all, just a heads up. We would definitely stay here again. We are new to PA, so maybe we will come again in the Spring or Summer to really enjoy the river.

    Deb2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Riverbreeze Villa is an absolutely beautiful home right on the Susquehanna river. We rented the home for a Susquehanna University graduation weekend and it exceeded all of our expectations. It provided a wonderful gathering space for our family, both inside and outside. We thoroughly enjoyed preparing meals in the well appointed kitchen and eating on the back porch overlooking the river. In addition to the four bedrooms, there is a large family room with doors that close for privacy if necessary (air mattress provided). There is plenty of parking available on the property as well. Jon was a gracious host and was always available to answer any questions we had. We highly recommend this property!

    Janet2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous Thanksgiving celebration at Jon's house. The kitchen was a delight for two cooks, and there was everything we needed to create a special dinner for everyone. Having two tables with chairs made it so we could all sit down together. The living room worked great for watching football, and the setting on the river is absolutely stunning. Jon quickly responded to all my questions and even had seasonal decorations for me to use. A very thoughtful touch that helped make our stay special.

    Lynda2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location. We rented while celebrating Bucknell's graduation. Well equipped kitchen. Jon was incredibly attentive to any questions we had. Extremely accommodating. Terrific host. Many thanks!!

    Eileen2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Hi, everyone. Riverbreeze Manor is exactly as advertised. I loved the location to the river and the outdoor fireplace and BBQ. Kitchen lovely, clean towels and etc. Jon even put up a "privacy" curtain for the walk-thru bedroom that gave us the needed privacy. Thanks, Jon.

    Questa2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house meticulous restored with well cared for grounds right on the river. The house was lovingly prepared by hosts that we found to be friendly, generous and kind. Jon even gave us a ride on his party boat over to see the eagle's nest. We basically lived in the screen house and cooked up a storm in the kitchen when we weren't playing games in the huge family room. Overall it was a perfect vacation

    Deborah2015-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our whole family was in town to visit our elderly grandmother, and the house worked perfectly. The bathrooms and kitchen are nicely updated, the house is charming and well stocked with a beautiful view. Everything is very clean. John made us feel welcome even before we got there with a text on the weather! He was very attentive, and communicated often to make sure our visit went well. We would certainly stay here again.

It comfortably fits 4 persons but will accept 5. There are two queen beds in cathedral ceilinged bed room.
Although this unit is located on a busy Rt 204, it is quiet, peaceful and private inside & out back. The walls are 12" thick logs. Besides being adjacent to a two bedroom unit, the nearest neighboring houses are 1/8 mile away. We are In the country but close to conveniences. One mile south, there is a 24 hour Weis Markets & 1/2 mile North, across the bridge, there is a Mennonite Country Store selling bulk foods, baked goods and Deli products, open 10 - 5, closed Sundays.
  • Cozy cabin was both cozy and spacious...plenty of room to enjoy. Lovely setting and view. Convenient to town and SU. Hosts were very nice and greeted us on day 1.

  • Cindy was a great host. She kept in communication from start to finish. Cabin is very nice and close to the 11/15 thoroughfare if you on your way to New York. A great location with space if you need to get away for a couple days or a couple weeks. Will definitely stay there again. My last stay was ten days.

    Daniel2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the cabin very much. It was a great place to relax and unwind, but close to restaurants and right down the street from a Weis grocery store. We didn't get to meet Cindy, but she kept in contact and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall we had a great time!

    Shane2015-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Although we were in the area due to a family member being hospitalized, the cozy cabin provided a comfortable location where we could relax a little bit during a stressful time. The cabin is exactly as described and pictured. It looks out across the picturesque Penn Creek and is very spacious. We enjoyed being able to spread out across the cabin, cook our own meals (the Weiss market is very close), and do our laundry whenever we needed. Cindy was also kind enough to provide us with fresh eggs from her chickens and other breakfast items. I would definitely recommend this location to others.

    Kelley2015-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Cozy Cabin was a great place to stay! Despite being only a one bedroom, I was surprised by its spaciousness. Everything was well stocked: the kitchen had everything we needed, the bathroom had more than enough towels, the tv was loaded with movie channels, and the bed was clean and comfortable. I could definitely be comfortable staying there for an extended period of time.

    Aaron2015-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Everything thing was great! My dogs and I spent a comfortable and restful night. The bed was perfect and your extra touches including refrigerator treats definitely hit the spot. The river is so beautiful!

    Donna2015-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great, comfortable place to enjoy a quiet weekend. Nice setting on the river.

    Nick2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • CIndy and her husband were excellent hosts, their cabin was very spacious and inviting. The cabin was well appointed and Cindy made sure to leave information about her gorgeous town and it's rich history as well as where to go and things to do, I especially like that. It was the perfect place to stay for us because it had all we needed for a quiet relaxing weekend away. Will definitely stay at Cindy's cabin again.

Imagine a beach house in the mountains. Lots of glass and blonde wood. Contemporary and modern in every way. Totally private. Totally secure. In the summer when the trees have leaves, you cannot see any neighbors. Your sun room suite will be just as private: the upper level features your own bedroom with Sleep Comfort Queen bed, full bathroom, and a spectacular sun room with a double bed and TV.
The house is in a small, private subdivision about four miles south of Lewisburg, PA and Bucknell University. Very quiet, private, and secure. Very near Bucknell and Susquehanna Universities.
The house sits on over an acre of land in a subdivision called Gilead Mountain. The house is up a steep hill leading to a steep driveway. There is plenty of parking up the driveway. The house sits on a cul de sac so except for the four neighbors whom you will never see, there is no traffic. The walks around the neighborhood are lovely, but it is very hilly.

Our town is a sleepy German village in the central Susquehanna river valley of Pennsylvania. Siting along Penns Creek, it is a dividing line between Union and Snyder county. With a population of just over 800 it was the original county seat of Union County. The courthouse building still stands in the Town Square and houses the Courthouse Museum. Our area is rich in history with museums, covered bridges, and Amish farms with many types of road stands throughout the county. Wineries & Antique Shoppes also dot the area not to mention the many festivals and fairs we are noted for. Also close by is Penn State, Bucknell, & Susquehanna Universities. For a better look at our area check with the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau.

Note: The cottage is a "family oriented" vacation home. It sleeps 10+ but that is a mix of adults and children (i.e. some of the bedrooms are bunk beds, etc..) We would not want more than 6 adults staying over at any given time. *We provide fresh Linens including all of the comforters after each stay. *We have two (2) Pack N Plays on premises for newborns & toddlers.

  • We rented the with anther family as a weekend getaway to Knobles. The house is spacious! We were pleasantly surprised with the large room on the top floor. The room works great for the kids while parents hangout downstairs. The upstairs room is equipped with a bathroom, tv, and portable air conditioner. There is a deck in the front that runs the length of the the house and is perfect for after dinner star gazing.

Beautiful country experience and still minutes from Lewisburg. Swimming pool, and fire ring.
  • Great stay. Thank you for everything. Room was exactly as expected. Our host waited up to greet us when we arrived late. Great advice on travel to Penn State and Bucknell, and things to do at each. Really wonderful experience for my son and I as we look at colleges.

  • Rod and Lisa were great, welcoming and made us feel right at home. The house was very convenient to Lewisburg and Bucknell. We would definitely stay their again.

  • Really convenient location to Bucknell campus on a beautiful piece of land in the countryside. Rod and Lisa were lovely hosts, and we enjoyed having the opportunity to spend a little time with them at the beginning and end of each day. They even allowed me the use of their kitchen to prepare a salad that I needed to make for a team barbecue.

    rochelle2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Rod and Lisa are so hospitable and went out of their way to make us comfortable! We felt right at home! We had plenty of room and privacy but felt comfortable visiting and getting to know them a bit! Breakfasts were delicious and our daughter enjoyed meeting the goats and feeding the horse! A beautiful view to wake up to in the morning as well! I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a place to stay near Mifflinburg. Lewisburg or selinsgrove!

  • If you are reading this review, your airBnB search is over! Rod and Lisa are so warm and welcoming, and just cool people to hang out with. My friend and I stayed the night while we were visiting Bucknell for commencement weekend, and it felt like we were staying with old friends. They live on a beautiful country road, on a picturesque propoerty close to downtown Lewisburg. They were extremely responsive in communicating logistics leading up to our trip, and were very flexible with our check-in and check-out times to accommodate our schedule. 5 stars isn't enough!

  • Just wonderful. It was like staying with family without the complications. The Josephs are kind and charming people. Since we are building a home nearby we can see them becoming close friends. What could be a better testament.

The canopy bed, fireplace & large air tub will quickly let you feel the beauty of this room. The quietness of the neighborhood combined with the central air make relaxing easy at the end of a day of Antiquing, Cycling, Kayaking or Wine Tasting.
The Susquehanna Room is a very elegant room with mauve, green, & accents of the Selinsgrove area. The southern exposure welcomes guests after awaking from a nights sleep in the queen size canopy bed. There is plenty of seating by the gas fireplace to just relax or read a book. The large bathroom offers guests a large air tub to relax in as well. A separate shower area is also offered.
  • The host made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. None of the online pictures did sufficient justice to to this beautiful Inn. The building is beautiful....the room was gorgeous.... the air tub was wonderful.....and there is a very charming country store adjoining ...with antiques and beautiful country items. We can't wait to go back.

This clean comfortable camper sits w/2 other campers on a 2 acre well manicured lot overlooking Penn's Creek. There are panoramic views of fields, woods&wildlife. You will enjoy fresh air&sites&sounds of deer, geese, ducks, birds, frogs, crickets, turtles, etc. Watch the sun rise& set. Penn's Dr is a recreation road w/ joggers, bikers & walkers. The creek has fishing, kayaking& wading/swimming. 4G Cell Reception. If you have data, it works well. Your camper has a shower but there is a bathhouse.
There is a bedroom with a queen bed with a pocket door off the living room, the table drops to a small bed and so does the couch and there are two bunk beds by the bathroom with a private door. Sleeps 2 comfortably but can sleep up to up 6 but would be cramped. There are other campers that may or may not be occupied.
This unit is based on the corner of a 150 acre farm which you may hike. There is an Amish Store 1 mile away where you can buy fresh picked fruit and veggies. You have a view of the creek and the Kratzerville Bridge where you can wade into the creek and swim in a hole. The creek is home to Herons, turtles and ducks and geese. Sit above the creek across the road and enjoy nature. You may fish from the bridge or any where along the creek. There is a trailer home and a farm house below to the North. The farm has a rooster or two.
  • Both Cindy and her husband were very good hosts. Beautiful property and very quiet. Close to hiking trails and entertainment.

    Christina2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cool little place to light a fire, listen to the water flow, and just chill. The camper was clean and comfortable, and the location was secluded, yet close enough to civilization to get anything one may need. Cindy was an awesome host, who just happened to share the same bday as my wife...and was sweet enough to bring her flowers on her bday.

    Nathaniel2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy was a great host. She was always accessible if I had any issues (which I didn't). She even brought me fresh eggs from her farm. The RV was great. Everything worked fine. The bed was very comfortable. The whole place was clean. There is a spacious separate bathhouse with shower if you feel cramped in the RV shower (which I was just a bit, but that's because I'm 6'6"). If you are looking for privacy and quiet, which I was, this is the perfect spot. Very quiet during the day, and completely silent at night (except for the crickets). The creek is very nice, and I also discovered a few local state parks with excellent views and hiking trails. The surrounding towns are fun to explore. Milton, PA was probably my favorite. As someone else said, this place is very private, but only 10 minutes away from a major road with tons of stores and restaurants if you're looking for something to do. I have ZERO complaints about my stay. It was one of the most relaxing vacations I've had in awhile. I will definitely be back.

    Matt2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • I would say the location is just as Cindy described. She met me there and made sure I had everything I needed. My gps took me to the house on the corner but it is actually a few hundred feet down the road - this was my fault because I got in later than expected but I did want to mention just in case anyone else had the same issue. Thank you!

    Katie2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • For anyone wanting to explore the Susquehanna River Valley this is an ideal spot to set up camp. The camper was everything it was described to be - most certainly clean, comfortable, and well appointed, and surrounded by open fields and charming farmstead. Cindy and her husband were terrific hosts - solicitous and most friendly. For my first Airbnb experience, I couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you, Cindy!

It has electric, hot&cold running water, double sink, shower, flush toilet, queen size bedroom with a pocket door&a double size fold out sofa bed on the other end of camper. There are beautiful views of fields& Penn's Creek. At night you can leave the windows open for enchanting sounds of nature or close the windows & turn on the AC. Fire Pit, picnic table, charcoal grill & bath house.
It is located on an acre of manicured lawn that sits high above the Penns Creek for a panoramic view of fields and woods and water on the corner of my 150 acre farm.
The property sits above overlooking Penn's Creek and the Kratzerville Bridge. The creek has lots of visitors in the summer fishing, kayaking and swimming. The road has joggers, dog walkers and bicyclists. Although we have been noticing some heavy traffic at times. There are no neighbors south, east or west but below to the North is a house trailer and a small farm house. It is extremely quiet at night.

  • The trailers are ideally situated or quiet evenings, great breezes and views of Penns stream. Cindy and her husband were wonderful hosts. She made sure I was comfortable at all times, and giving me suggestions on areas to explore by bike. She even allowed me to come take photos of her chickens. The trailer experiences was a first for me. I'll definitely stay again next time I'm in the area.

  • We enjoyed our stay on Cindy's farm, amid beautiful, quiet countryside, forests and streams. And Cindy and her husband went out of their way to meet us and make sure we found the place after we took a few wrong turns. We spent a good amount of time sitting on the swing in the front yard, taking in the wildlife across the road, picking wildflowers, and chasing after the many multicolored butterflies. The camper was just as advertised and well equipped. We hope to come back and stay in the treehouse sometime.

  • This was our first airbnb experience and it was perfect. Both Cindy and her husband were hospitable, accommodating, and kind. The camper CORSAIR was very spacious and comfortable. It was an ideal weekend away from the city because the location there is serene and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks to Cindy and Kurt for adding to the wonderful relaxing experience. • Staying at Cindy's camper was an absolute blast. We loved the "vintage" style and found it to be very spacious for two adults and two large dogs. The bath house is a great addition and it is so clean! Two little things to keep in mind... 1) if you think you are going swimming in the creek, think again, there is not great access to it at the site of the camper. However, I am sure there are plenty of other spots to do so in the area. 2) bring flashlights! we regretted it the first night when up after dark doing crosswords and then even more the second night when the power went out. It was spooky/romantic for us, maybe not so much for you:) Thank you again Cindy for letting us bring our goldens Trigo and Dalia to your camper.

The TreeHouse is 10'x10'x12.5' &the a framed loft is 10'x6'x4.5' &the balcony is 10'x5' with bistro table&2chairs. The main floor has a futon& 2 cots. DBL bed in the loft. So 6 could sleep in the tree house. An added pop up camper gave us 4 more beds that can sleep 2 in each bed. There is plenty of shade & even a breeze at night, it is like sleeping outside when the 8 windows are open. The TreeHouse stands 14 feet in the air and you should be mindful when navigating the well lighted staircase.
The TreeHouse is off the grid. There is a separate Vintage camper that serves as the kitchen and water closet with flush toilet & has a gas stove, gas oven and gas refrigerator/freezer. There is 12 volt battery feeds water to the sink and flush toilet and runs the gas refrigerator. Upon request, there is a battery operated satellite radio for your entertainment. Completely self contained and Off the grid. Solar lights go up the stairs. TreeHouse actual living space is 100 square feet and the deck is 50 square feet with amazing views of fields, farmland, mountains & valleys. The wildlife consists of deer, rabbits & squirrels. The yard is not flat so wear your hiking shoes but it is well groomed with a swing that seats 2, a fire pit (free wood in the woods) & two Tiki Torches with additional fuel.
There are no neighbors for a mile & that would be us at our farmhouse & the campground a mile the other way. It is just you and nature. Star Gazing is the main event. You are on top of the world and can see for miles around.
  • Our group was four friends who stayed for one night during the Covered Bridge Festival at Knoebels. Hosts were very friendly, flexible, and attentive. They welcomed us at the treehouse and showed us around. Provided fresh water, and even wood for the fire. The location gives you a nice secluded feel and the view is gorgeous! Bathroom, refrigerator, and running water (sink) on site. We had a really nice time, and I wish we could have stayed a little longer. Thank you Cindy and Kurt!!

  • If you want something special, something remote, something rugged yet elegant in its simplicity....than this is it. I didnt realize until I got there, but the tree house is far (a mile, maybe) from the main home and road. It was a bit tricky to find, but I suppose that is part of the adventure. You must drive up a dirt road, which may be tricky if muddy, so plan ahead. Amazing views, cool breezes during the summer, solitude, a fire pit and a smoker! IMO, this is one example of why airbnb is so much fun....without me and my lady would have never had this experience. FYI-the bed was kind of small, but it is a tree house. Have fun!

    Michael2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse is really a fun alternative to camping and I cannot say enough about Cindy! She went above and beyond to assure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We were prepared to use sleeping bags, but Cindy premade our beds and also accommodated us with an extra cot. She's an amazing host and it's a nice change of pace!

  • A great off the grid getaway! Very welcoming and helpful hosts set up and got the BBQ going. We loved making s'mores and cooking on the BBQ. Great sunsets and star watching! The treehouse is comfortable and very peaceful. Thanks so much.

  • Think of how fun treehouses were back when you were a kid, then imagine that combined with a neat, well-built cabin that you'd be comfortable staying in as a grown up. That's how I'd describe it. It's not fancy, but it's a lot of fun. Sleeping and hanging out up in the trees with a great view, privacy, and access to your own off-the-grid (but reliable/modern) fridge, bathroom, stove/range, and running water.

    Bill2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a good time at the tree house. Cindy and her husband were very nice , definitely would recommend and go again !

    Alejandro2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We're always on the hunt for a good spot for short family summer vacations. Secluded, fire pit, and rustic but functional are usually the top things on our list. We found all this here at Cindy's off-grid treehouse! It was just the right amount of rustic while still being comfortable and having access to a sink and fridge was nice for meals! We loved the time we got to spend here, and hopefully will be back someday!

    Alicia2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was an amazing stop on our way back home from a New England Road Trip! We spent the evening on the balcony of the tree house star gazing! The views from on top of the hill are amazing during Fall. We had tons of room for us and our two dogs to roam around. They loved it too! I would recommend this for anyone that is looking to escape the city for a quiet getaway to enjoy nature.

Lots of dining in town about 4 miles away and Knobles is about 30 mins away. We would definitely stay here again just would request for a better cleaning of the cabin or even bring our own cleaning supplies to give it a good wipe down.
