  • This place was amazing. Great host, great location, great space, everything was perfect. The hot tub is nice in the cold weather and the loft bed is surprisingly comfortable. The washer and dryer were super convenient and we were provided with laundry detergent which was super nice. The kitchen has the full set up as well as all the usual utensils and cookware which was very nice as well. If you’re looking to stay in Maine definitely stay here. This place is a 10/10 🤙🏻

  • We had a great time at this cottage!! So cozy and inviting from the moment we walked in!! Enjoyed a nice nor’easter storm on the porch, an awesome fire pit, and exploring the surrounding areas!! Kelley was a great host! This cottage has everything you can think of and is a perfect home away from home!!

    Erika2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely for our fall getaway to Maine. It’s close to state parks, close enough to Portland and had everything we needed for a great time!

  • Terrific space!! Perfect accommodations for our group. Kelley is a great host!

  • We were blown away and delighted with the Irish Cottage. Every bit of it was astounding in the thoughtfulness in decor and usefulness of all aspects. The decor was amazing, demonstrating so much thought. Kelly would be a dear friend if we lived closer. Thank you for being an excellent hostess.

  • Wonderful home away from home that has everything you need - very comfortable and cozy.

    John2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Irish Cottage was a perfect place for our family to stay while attending a wedding at The Sebasco Harbor Resort. Everything was cozy and comfortable and we loved that we were allowed to bring our dogs. Everyone had a blast running around outside and sitting around the fire pit making s’mores. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

    Katie2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place. In a spectacular part of the world. We spent most days at Popham Beach. The home is cozy and well maintained and our host was on top of it. I would stay here again

    Ross2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house and grounds invite memorable family gatherings! Be prepared for cottage like decor and amenities, outdoor gathering spaces with cushioned chairs and a well stocked kitchen for seafood preparation. Our stay of almost two weeks was very comfortable and Kelley was welcoming and available if we needed her. We loved our Maine vacation here!!

Escape to this quiet space and deep soak your mind in the meditation room or relax your body with the deep soaking tub and recharge after a long day. The whole 3rd floor is yours. A private sitting room, bedroom and bath are ready for your arrival. This is a 3rd story walk up. There is a parking space right outside the front door and a keypad lock. Easy access in and out. Your dog is welcome to join you.
There is a refrigerator, microwave, electric tea kettle and coffee maker for your use. There is no kitchen for cooking.
This neighborhood was developed well over 100 years ago by the local mill owners who built the homes here to provide housing for mill workers from Canada and their families. Eventually a walking bridge was built to allow families to get to church and to school across the Androscoggin River. That bridge will bring you into Brunswick in 5 mins. where you'll find great restaurants, breweries, a local movie theatre, museums, art galleries and Bowdoin College. My favorite coffee shop is an 8 min walk across the pedestrian bridge. Union Street Bakery and Coffee Shop makes the most amazing muffins, breads, cakes and cookies. Along with sandwiches and soups. You won't be disappointed if you head there. You're 15 mins from Freeport and LL Beans and just 30 mins from Portland and its amazing food and music scene. The most beautiful beaches in Maine are just a short drive from here. Along with hikes through the woods, bike trails, boat launches if you've got a canoe or kayak on the roof of your car.
  • We stayed with Mary for a month in winter and loved the place. it's a short 0.5 mile walk to downtown by way of the beautiful Androscoggin foot bridge and 0.75 miles to the Amtrak station. This makes her location perfect if you want to spend time at the wonderful restaurants in Brunswick and take the train into Freeport or Portland, all without driving. Mary's place is larger than the pictures suggest and it's very cozy and private. You effectively have a private entrance. The mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle are sufficient for longer stays if you don't need a full kitchen. Mary is very kind and communicative. We have already booked another month with her and would highly recommend you give her place a try as well.

    Byron2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We arrived a weekend of a snow storm and she made sure to check in on us to make sure our trip was going well and we were staying warm with the below average temperatures outside! Great location with plenty to do!

    Scott2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed my time in Mary's sweet place. Luxurious bath, comfortable bed, and a convenient spot to enjoy Topsham, Brunswick and Portland. I loved walking across the footbridge to Brunswick (there's a yoga studio only a 10 minute walk away). Short drive to beautiful hikes through woods or on beaches. I'll be going back, for sure!

    Amy2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This space is clean, organized and stylish. The tub is spacious and pleasant amenities are provided to enjoy it in. Interesting books are provided to read with a sitting area. The mediation room is tranquil. The bed has great pillows and is cozy, the room stayed warm the entire night even with the snowfall outside. Highly recommend this blissful getaway retreat.

    Ally2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a quick getaway! Mary’s space is exactly as it’s described in all the best ways. It’s as peaceful and charming as it looks, the tub is amazing and the location is perfect for quiet and strolls into town. I hope to visit again!

    Lauren2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is a wonderful host. If you get the chance to try her breakfast, it is absolutely delicious!! I enjoyed the meditation space and the amazing candle-lit bath. All-in-all, I had an amazing and memorable experience here!

This circa 1900 ocean cottage is now available for rent during the spring, summer, and fall in the lovely village of Sebasco, Maine. Sebasco (aka Sebasco Estates) is primarily a small fishing village in the town of Phippsburg, Maine, a peninsula extending south from Bath, Maine to Fort Popham, Popham Beach, Small Point, and other notable historic landmarks. (A second cottage is also available from the Classic Harbor Cottages web site).
Both of our modernized cottages are directly on the shore and overlook the ocean and islands. The southern mid-coast region of Maine offers many recreational activities, which we have information about. Whether you wish to partake in a lobster bake with fresh local lobsters, cruise the shoreline and islands, attend a wedding at Sebasco Harbor Resort or simply visit the local beaches, we will try our very best to ensure you have a pleasant and relaxing stay.
The Water's Edge restaurant is a short walk up the road and a popular eating spot for summer folks. Spinney's restaurant at Popham Beach is another popular spot only 15 min. away.

Stay healthy!! We are booked for now, but hope to see you this summer! You're invited to enjoy a tastefully furnished, private apartment among the treetops. Above our quiet home only two blocks from downtown and central in the MidCoast area. Bowdoin College is a half mile away, less than a ten minute walk. The BR has a memory foam queen mattress, a small full bath and a well equipped kitchen. Built in 1960, the unit is relaxing, well appointed, very clean with oak floors.
Nestled up in the tree tops, your apartment looks over a wooded back yard and creek. It's an older house (though not by Maine standards) so there are some quirks and is a bit vintage by default. Although just two blocks from downtown Brunswick, you will feel like you have escaped the hustle and bustle of staying in town. Start your morning at the small seating area on the porch among the singing birds.
Our residential neighborhood is quiet and friendly. You will often see neighbors out and people walking to and from town. We have some of the oldest houses in Brunswick and you can still see the stars at night!
  • Our stay at Judi’s was wonderful! The space was so comfortable and thoughtfully decorated, it really felt like home. This second floor space felt very private and had a lot of natural light with windows overlooking a field. The space was very clean, had easy parking, and was very convenient to downtown Brunswick while being in quiet neighborhood area. The kitchen area was stocked with coffee and tea and had any flatware, dishes, glasses, and utensils that you might need. Judi was very friendly and communicative. I highly recommend a stay here!

    Cara2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Judi is a fantastic host! She was very responsive and helpful. Her place is very clean and neat, just what we were looking for. The bed linens and towels are extra soft and comfortable. Judi was extremely hospitable and catered to our specific needs. We will definitely stay here again.

    Sharon2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Judi's place is another level. Two different roasts of coffee to choose from, kitchen staples, toiletries aplenty, very comfortable bed/bedding, awesome eclectic decor, perfect location, books to browse, and of course Judi herself-Lovely!!!

    Carol2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Judi’s place was absolutely perfect for my business visit to the college nearby! The apartment is super clean, very close to town, and the bed is so comfy! I’d stay there again if I head to Brunswick in the future.

    Janna2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Judi was a great host and the apartment is conveniently located within a few blocks of the downtown where there are many nice shops and restaurants. The living room sofa is large and very comfy as is the bed. The apartment is spotless in a quiet street and has all you may need for your stay. Judi is very responsive and was there to greet me and make sure lights outside were on and I had no questions.

    Maria2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Judi's apartment was very easy to locate and check-in was a breeze. Judi was very gracious and kept in communication throughout our trip. A wonderful getaway!

The interior of this guest house on Bailey Island is uniquely decorated in a contemporary-Maine coastal style. Queen-sized bed in the bedroom, modern bathroom, full sleeper sofa in living room. This house house is located near and above the end of Hugh Avenue, along which are several seasonal cottages and a few year round residents. Hugh Avenue tends to be more quiet and less travelled area than many other local locations.
  • A great cottage off of the beaten path! We enjoyed the locals and exploring the area! We will definitely book again in the future.

    Christy2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • George and Debbie were perfect hosts! The Lil’ House was perfect in every way! The view of the ocean was amazing. You could see it from the living area and from lying in bed. You can wake up to the sun rising on the ocean! It was very clean and we felt like we were home it was that comfortable. You could hear the ocean if you were out on the deck. We never give anything five stars on everything but we had to on this one, it was that perfect!

    Fred2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • George and Debbie were great to deal with. Loved the area, the sunrise and sunset. The place had everything and more! Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Erin2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful perfect little house. I would recommend it to anyone

    Ann2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, clean, airy cottage nestled in the woods on Bailey Island with gorgeous views and every amenity you need for a comfortable, relaxing and safe stay. The perfect getaway for some R&R!! George and Debbie were on point with their directions and suggestions and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this place and I definitely will be coming back to visit!

    Payal2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • It is a wonderful cottage and it is equipped with all the things you need. The location is perfect and the view from the porch is incredible. We will come back. Debbie and George are very nice people and they tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

    Marcus & Maria2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Lil' Guest House on Bailey Island was a wonderful spot for a couple's getaway and birthday celebration. The house is so well thought out and equipped.....it's obvious a lot of thought and care went into it. Very relaxing and peaceful, beautiful views, private beach nearby, nice furnishings, so many special touches, great kitchen and bathroom, huge deck, fire pit out back, comfortable bed. We can't wait to go back!!

    Donna2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • George and Debbie are the warmest hosts you could ask for. The cabin overlooking the ocean was spotless and creatively d'accord. Fresh Lobster delivered to your door, warm friendly visits with owners and family, and reading books down along the shore. A Dreamland vacation. Book it before it goes. Highly recommend!

Charming seasonal waterfront cottage boasting awe inspiring views of Buttermilk Cove. Interior is tastefully decorated with granite countertops, stainless steal appliances, wood floors, a gas fireplace and many attractive touches including a spiral staircase. Lounge dockside or venture to the rooftop deck where you are completely private from your neighbors. Close to Bowdoin College, Maine State Music Theater, Freeport and 25 minutes to Portland.
  • Beautiful location and view with many thoughtful touches, supplies, and homey feel.

    Katrina2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a nice place with a great view. The fireplace is very cozy. It was easy to visit Portland, Freeport, and Brunswick.

    Heather2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Snowed our last night there, and lost satellite connection, but other than that, no complaints! Super cozy.

    Renee2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is well-decorated and very comfortable and cozy. Staying there in the winter was amazing because the fireplace is very effective at heating the place; the temperature is very easy to set to whatever you desire (including quite warm, if that's what you want). The furnishings and decorations were very nice, and the kitchen has a large counter with modern appliances and all the pots, pans, and utensils you need to cook. We enjoyed watching ice float down the inlet as the tides went in and out. There is no WiFi in the cottage (as described in the listing). AT&T had decent cell coverage but T-mobile was very slow. The place was also extremely well-stocked with towels, blankets, and linens. There was ample hot water for the shower.

    Alex2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage. Gorgeous views from the house. It snowed while we were there and they had someone plow the driveway which was great since we only had 2 wheel drive cars. The fireplace was very nice as well!

    Kerri2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • A great little get away spot, close drive to town and local attractions. Beautiful view of the river. Close to street, but easily able to cancel out traffic sounds with music, white noise machine options. Very clean and nice layout to just relax. Loved the fireplace - kept us toasty on cold days.

    Tess2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • It is a beautiful spot on the water.

    Sorcha2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay this past weekend. We saw the bald eagle mentioned in previous reviews and were even able to take a closer look with the provided binoculars! The tv is HDMI compatible and we hooked up our IPad and binged Netflix in front of the fire for hours. The store/restaurant is just a few yards to the left which is very convenient. The street can be noisy at night, so I’d recommend a fan or white noise machine for light sleepers like myself. Overall, we had a great stay and would love to come back in warmer months too!

  • Stephen’s cottage was a fantastic place to get away for a few days. The space is large for two people, thoughtfully decorated, and has all of the amenities we could have needed for our stay. It was also very clean when we arrived. The pictures really don’t do it justice, it’s a beautiful home. Check-in was simple, and that was quite nice after a long day of traveling. Though we didn’t get the chance to meet Stephen, we was responsive and helpful whenever we reached out. Our first morning there, we woke up early and were pleasantly surprised to be able to see the sunrise over the ocean from the kitchen window. It is a fairly long drive to get in and out of Orr’s island, but we found we were always looking forward to going back to the cottage if we’d left the area for the day. It seemed like Orr’s/Bailey island had plenty to do if you don’t want to leave the area. We’ll definitely be back in the future and highly recommend Stephen’s cottage to anyone looking to stay in the area.

    Zoe2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Steve’s place in Orrs island is a delight! We had a lovely couple of days making the cottage our base as we explored Maine’s beautiful natural bounties. Steve was extremely gracious and flexible with our check in / checkout process. The cottage itself is beautifully situated with windows bringing in plenty of sunshine and giving pretty views. The presence of art and thoughtful details in the decor is very heartwarming. Interacting with Steve himself was the best part of the stay though! Don’t pass up the opportunity of experiencing this slice of heaven!

  • WONDERFUL stay Totally worth the value. Stephen is a great guy and wonderful host. Gave us lots of tips and insight. Also provided firewood for us

  • This a spacious well decorated cottage. I love that it is handicap accessible complete with ramp. Beautiful view from decks. We will be coming back again

    Edna2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. For a couple this is a spacious place. I was actually surprised by the room. In the distance you can see a cove out the kitchen window and one out the front window. Not gonna say it is a spectacular view but hey it was nice to know your close to the water. Stephen is a great host with lots of info on local stuff. Easy to cook here. Being about to do your laundry is great if your on longer stay. This was our first trip to Maine we loved it. This place is in the slower paced area and we were happy about that. Check out the candy shop up the street. The ice cream is amazing and big servings. Overall very satisfied.

    Brett2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place if you are looking to detach from work and just the business of life. Lovely little coastal town, and Stephen is a great host. Honestly wish we had more time to chat and get to know each other better, but great at responding and answering questions immediately. Will gladly book this place again for a second time.

    Kenny2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty summer house! Quiet and intimate place. The host is charming, take the time to chat with him. He knows the islands well and is good advice for places to visit. House located in reasonable distance from Portland. Thank you again!

Both structures have views across a river bay, and down river to where the Back River meets the Kennebec River (hence "Madawaska") just before both flow into open ocean, past Seguin Island (where George Washington commissioned a lighthouse). PLEASE NOTE: as much as we love pets we have a strict no-pet policy in our dwellings! AUTUMN VISITS: Come stay in the tree dwelling in Autumn for stunning views of foliage and crisp walks along the marsh back to the tree dwelling to warm up in the cedar hot tub. The dwelling is well insulated and warms up quickly with our top quality wall mounted heating units. THE VIEWS: Gorgeous views down the Back River, and across the river lie hundreds of acres of pristine conservation land. Part of the year, this tree dwelling will be used for the Seguin Artist in Residence Program at the Back River Institute, which is under development. Use of KAYAK's and CANOE's are included with rental and available at anytime during your stay NOTE: We also have a brand new tree dwelling with a wood fired cedar hot tub and a second bedroom, which can be converted into a living room space upon request.
We are located in the picturesque coastal village of Georgetown, Maine (which includes Five Islands). Reid State Park, with its beautiful, sandy beaches and hiking trails, is just a few miles from us, further into Georgetown. Be sure to visit the Five Islands Lobster Co. for best lobsters, lobster rolls, fish sandwiches, corn on the cob--and harbor views. Five Islands Farm and Gourmet Market is an excellent source of fine wine, beers, local produce, meats, cheeses, gifts. We are a ten minute drive from the town of Bath Maine, which has a great coffee shop (Cafe Creme), bookstore (the Mustard Seed), deli (the Living Edge), grocery store (Bracket's Market), health food store (Bath Natural Market), great yoga studio (Ebb and Flow), BBQ (Beale St. BBQ), fine dining (Salt Pine Social), Maine Maritime Museum, and locally famous Reny's! We are 20 minutes from Brunswick with Bowdoin College, Sea Dog Brewery, Gelato Fiasco!, coffee shops, great restaurants and bar/restaurant/hangout (Frontier), indie movie theatre with couches (The Starlight). We are 30 minutes from Freeport, for original L.L. Bean store and outlets. We are 45 minutes from Portland, with its exploding, world-class restaurant/foodie scene.
  • After seeing the tree dwellings online I knew I just had to stay there. The view certainly did not disappoint. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax in the trees. The first night it rained all night and the sound of the rain hitting the roof was perfect. I slept like a baby. If you are looking for a place to stay look no further and make sure to book if you see an opening. Communication was a breeze and responses for always quick. Will definitely stay again if In the area.

  • A perfect weekend getaway. Everything from the location, size of the dwelling, and furnishings was perfection. Even my skeptical husband is looking forward to returning!

  • We stayed for three nights in this amazing tree dwelling! Perfect views, super comfortable bed and everything we needed to make our first stay in Maine the best! Thank you for having us Marsha! I am very sure that we will be back!

  • It was truly a pleasure celebrating our October anniversary perched up among the trees in this cozy Marsha’s cozy tree house. We enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom overlooking, forest, salt marsh and water. It felt very private and we even left our curtains open bathed in the full moonlight. We appreciated that the kitchen and bathroom were in a separate space from the bedroom (bring slippers). The petite kitchen has a hot plate and dining table if you want to eat in. To my husbands relief, we found a coffee maker! The water was nice and hot and good pressure. The owners chose Tea Tree Oil shampoo and conditioner and. Dr. Bronner’s body wash for the shower…perfect for the tree house. We also noted a hair dryer under the sink. One of our favorite things about the tree house was the screened in porch where we had coffee in the morning and late night talks in the evening overlooking the forest. We sat with candlelight in the Adirondack chairs listening to only the sounds of nature. Marsha was kind enough to leave a pass for Reid State Park and we enjoyed walking the beach and paths and climbing the rocks. We spent time in Bath exploring the books stores and coffee shop and restaurants. Per Marsha’s suggestion, we made our way to Waldoboro to visit the Morse's Sour Kraut Market & Deli which was amazing. Overall, We had a wonderful stay at the Madawaska Tree House and we appreciated all the design details. Thanks to Marsha for a great stay.

  • A sweet, sweet cabin with sweeping views. Fancy? No. Lovely? Yes. A simple place--living in the woods. Just wonderful.

  • Our second time this year! We love the setting and the area. Discovered some more hiking nearby and enjoyed time in Bath, Brunswick and Wiscasset. Can’t recommend this enough even if it means more competition for bookings!

    Pierre2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great getaway from my husband and I! Everything was wonderful and the tree house is great! Far enough away from things so you can enjoy the quietness, but can easily drive into town for a bite to eat. Just a suggestion for people who do stay here, is the bathroom is not in the same building as the bedroom so in the middle of the night, you have to leave the bedroom and go outside and go into the other building for the bathroom. So just make sure you have slippers or something to be able to walk in the middle of the night. But we will definitely be back!

Charming cottage on a beautiful island near marina, beaches, restaurants, and hiking trails. Wonderful mid-coast Maine location for lots of possibilities for outdoor adventures, antiquing, visiting art galleries and shops, and enjoying delicious cuisine. The cottage has everything you need for a peaceful getaway. Decorated with natural elements and local art pieces to get you in the mood for this beautiful location.
Here is the GuideBook I made for the space. It's under our other listing https://www.airbnb.com/things-to-do/rooms/14293135 Camp Fire available upon request If you need a later check out time, please request it :)
Robinhood neighborhood on Georgetown Island. Quiet road and peaceful, natural setting. Walk down the road to the AMC hut for water views and nice uphill climb on the way back. Less than a mile from the Robinhood Free Meetinghouse which has a variety of events including live music, Sunday brunch, WIFI, morning coffee, and pop-up restaurants. The Anchor Inn (Osprey Restaurant) and Marina are just around the corner as well. Only 10 minutes from Bath, 15 minutes to Reid State Park, and 50 minutes from Portland, makes this a highly desirable location!
  • Marcella's place is perfect for someone who wants a nice quiet stay in the area but not too far from local attractions. It was very clean and very cozy and well stocked with coffee, tea and essentials needed to cook meals. Check in and out was very easy. I highly recommend Marcella's if you are traveling to the area. If you are coming to the Shelter Institute, it is about a 15 minute drive but off Route 1 which is very busy and loud all night long. I know that because I switched to Marcella's place half way through my stay because staying off Route 1 was so loud.

  • This cottage is an absolute work of art, so clearly built by hand with care, and a place that honors Maine and the land and nature of this great state. Marcella and her husband are incredibly kind, communicative, helpful. Their cottage is delightfully rustic yet loaded with all the luxuries. It was a treat to stay here for two nights and it was so convenient to town, nature, ocean. I would highly recommend you book this if it’s available. It’s a perfect spot for a visit to Maine.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Island Alchemy cottage! It was an adorable place, and it was clean and had everything we needed. It's in a quiet, woodsy area while still being close to Bath; it was a great location for the things we wanted to visit in the mid-coast area. The state park pass was a wonderful extra (and the state parks nearby are very worth going to)! We would love to stay here again if we came back to the area.

  • Alchemy Cottage was charming, comfortable, and clean. It was perfectly situated for our visits to gorgeous Reid State Park and fascinating Boothbay Harbor, with plenty of good seafood nearby. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

  • Nothing but praise re all aspects

  • If peace and quiet is what you want, Alchemy Cottage is the spot! Unlimited wireless was a bonus since TV was pleasantly absent.

    Karen2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Well worth the price of admission , Marcella is super quick on responses which is great and the place itself is super cute. My girlfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend for my birthday and it was so quiet and peaceful and serene. The included park pass is a nice touch and I love the faucet in the bathroom! Will definitely stay here again!

    Chris2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Expect to stay at a clean, tidy and very cozy place. The cottage is an experience in and of itself. It is very thoughtfully decorated and laid out. And Marcella is a lovely, considerate host. The area has lots of things to see. Mostly nature and state parks. There's a great beach and cute little fisherman's villages nearby. Then there's Bath itself, which is nice to check out. Marcella's got plenty of recommendations for the area and so do the locals.

We were able to take a couple kayaks out without needing to track someone down which was very convenient and the experience was breathtaking. The info pack was very informative and the decor was unique and beautiful. Only wish we had the time to stay longer! We would highly recommend The Nest for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

  • Beautiful location on a tidal cove. Floor to ceiling windows on one-half of cottage made you feel as if you were outdoors, when you were in fact indoors. Easy to get to all spots in Harspwell, Brunswick, and Bath

  • This is a lovely spot in a gorgeous, private location. The kitchen is well-equipped, the washer and dryer are first-rate, and all the comforts of home are at you fingertips. Highly recommended!

    Patrick And Rob2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this loft/cottage. The property is gorgeous. Watching the tides come in and out with the sunrise and sunset were one of our favorite things to do. The loft is gorgeous, and spotless. The kitchen is a nice size, and allowed us plenty of room for cooking which we enjoyed. You are close enough to shopping and restaurants that you don't feel like you are in the middle of nowhere once you leave the property, but you are far enough from the road to feel like you are in your own private world. Very relaxing! Heads Up: If you aren't a morning person (we were so it wasn't a problem) be aware that there are no blinds on the side of the house facing the water, so you will be up at sunrise every morning. There are also some very active turkeys and roosters across the street who like to serenade you throughout the day! We found it charming, and kind of hilarious after a few days, but it is something to keep in mind. You don't normally hear them inside the house though, so that's a plus. We highly recommend this property!

    Leigh Anne2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin I loved the details like the hammock and the park bench in front for overlooking the water or watching the sunrises in the morning.

    Mauricio2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house exceeded our expectations on every level. We thoroughly read through previous reviews and agreed that Your Island Connection took every critique to heart and modified their abode for subsequent offerings. We booked the house for Thanksgiving weekend and packed the car with everything necessary to cook a hearty meal. We were surprised at the full offerings of kitchen necessities including a Henkel knife block and martini shaker. Although the house seems isolated, there is a surrounding neighborhood, something that put my girlfriend at ease. The genius layout has the expansive windows facing only the water, nothing else. You feel alone, but there is a surrounding community. The loft bedroom was perfect to escape and get a solid night's sleep. It became toasty quick with the additional heater and thick down comforter. We brought extra blankets but felt we didn't need them. The loft was small, but we could fit the dog's large crate and covering with little issue. And it was quiet enough when she needed to settle down she did so without complaint. Upon check-in you get professionally laundered linens, we were short 2 pillow cases but my girlfriend found some in the closet we could use, proof that this house has every item you could possibly need for a stay. It felt like a real summer rental and we could have only brought clothes and been without complaint. Every morning you can watch the working lobster boats motor out from their moorings and carry in their daily catch. During low tide we took the dog to explore the silty shoreline and look for sea glass. The house was perfect. It was so perfect that I asked my girlfriend to marry me while sitting in the living room on Saturday morning. We are already planning our return trip.

    James2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Always a great sign when you're planning your return to the rental next year within an hour of arrival. Impeccably decorated space with stunning views of Card Cove. Relaxation manifested. We enjoyed magnificent sunrises, all kinds of weather, and generally embraced the calm as we watched the fishermen come and go in their boats. The privacy was spectacular, despite the absence of any curtains on the windows, aside from the bathroom. One house nearby, about 2 acres away, but otherwise a totally private house with room to roam. Neighboring turkeys and chickens, who greeted us upon arrival, provide a steady but pleasant farm-like soundtrack any time you're outside. If you don't like cockadoodledoos at 7 AM, and 7 PM, this might not be the place for you. We didn't mind them in the least, and you can't hear them inside. Living room area had somewhat spartan furniture; pullout couch (we did not use the pullout) and two chairs, one a rocking chair, and a flat-screen TV with decent cable access. Ultra-fast Wi-Fi. A bit of a challenge to watch TV from the couch. The kitchen was fully stocked with every implement/pan necessary for making tasty meals. The fridge was on the smaller side, and getting ice trays into the freezer without spilling them was quite a feat. Be sure to use the griddle to make pancakes (with local syrup, duh). Coffeemaker initially posed a challenge, but the hosts promptly resolved it. Nearest larger grocery store is Shaws (very nice!), or WalMart, about 10 miles away, so best to stop on your way in. The bathroom and laundry area was excellent, and spotlessly clean. Water pressure not the greatest but not terrible, either. Huge shower! The bedroom, lofted over the living room, had a pretty low ceiling, but high enough that you could walk around without bumping your head if you paid attention. Views of the cove from up there were amazing; so nice to lay in bed watching the sunrise. The bed itself was quite firm, and the sheets were definitely not high end. We'll bring our own next time. Also didn't find any extra blankets lying around (fortunately we indeed had brought our own, in anticipation of using it outside, which was a brilliant move). Surrounding area was gorgeous, should you desire to venture away from the house. Check out the nearby Giant Stairs and Land's End Gift Shop. We got a wonderful lawbstah dinnah at The Dolphin, a nearby seasonal restaurant (closes at the end of October). Convenient to Freeport (outlet shopping) and Brunswick (home of Bowdoin). We are eager to return!

    Michael2018-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect locale and cottage! The cottage was the perfect size for me and my pups and the dogs had room to roam outside. Loved all the windows and the morning sunlight! Very clean with all the necessary amenities. Communication was good and the local info was helpful. I would definitely stay again!!

    Elizabeth2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect getaway for a couple. We had a low key time sitting in the dock, having a fire in the evening and just RELAXING. You can see the water from bed and everywhere else in the home. At first we were confused when we saw the trailer on the property and were concerned about privacy but it seems to be unoccupied or a project being worked on. We had easy access to everything we needed throughout the house; kitchen supplies, grill, puzzle we did throughout our stay, fire pit etc. If I had to critic anything negative it would be the coffee maker isn’t too great. Besides that, I highly recommend staying here!

Unwind at a classic Maine cottage in Georgetown just 1.5 miles from the beach at Reid State Park and near all the beauty and activities of Midcoast Maine. The cottage sleeps 4 with 2 queen bedrooms, with an additional single, and 1.5 baths. Whether you like beaches, history, dining, hiking, kayaking, fishing or just beautiful places, you will find too much to do in only one week. Rented by the week from Sunday noon to Saturday noon. Possible to start Saturday evening some weeks. Please ask.
Nestled in the woods, the newly refurbished cottage sleeps 4 with a combination of two queen bedrooms and an additional single bed on the upstairs landing to allow flexibility. Downstairs is a 4-season dining porch, a cottage-sized great room with living room and kitchen, one queen bedroom and a full bath with washer and dryer. Upstairs is the second queen bedroom with en suite powder room and the single bed on the landing. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary tools - including a lobster pot if you want to steam your own (ask us how to get "boat price" lobster from a local fisherman. Or to-die-for clams to steam...) Georgetown is very beautiful but technologically challenged - which is really just as well since you will be so busy exploring mid-coast Maine. The cottage has WiFi, a TV, DVD player and Roku for free channels but no cable or satellite . The maximum speed available on the Island is 10 mgs which is fine for watching TV and movies. Cell phone coverage at the cottage is spotty but is fine if you go just 1.5 miles north to Five Islands or south to the Georgetown Country Store.
The house is 1.5 miles from the beach at Reid State Park, OR a lobster with a quintessential Maine harbor view at Five Islands, OR the equally classic Georgetown country store. In case you want to drive more than 1.5 miles, Georgetown gives you easy access to mid-coast Maine. It is just a few miles to the historic city of Bath, with dining, shopping and the Maine Maritime Museum (check out their boat tours, by tour boat or on a schooner, for a fun and easy way to get on the water). The next peninsula south from Georgetown has Popham Beach, including a Civil War fort and the site of the 1607 Popham Colony. Or go to the next peninsula north - picturesque Damariscotta and lovely Boothbay with more shopping, scenic views and the Maine Botanical Gardens. On your way visit historic houses in Wiscasset to explore Wiscasset's shipping heyday, brought to a crashing close with the Embargo of the War of 1812. Or maybe the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland to immerse yourself in Andrew Wyeth?
  • A well supplied kitchen, excellent location, a super short drive to a lovely quiet beach, a lovely island and lovely cottage. Elisabeth also left some really helpful and thoughtful tips, was very responsive to any questions, and really helped make our week-long Maine stay superb. Definitely a super host. A big plus: I was there doing some work and was glad to find the wifi reliable and decently speedy.

  • Jack and Elisabeth were very kind and gracious hosts. The cottage is accurate in their description of it and its location. They were tremendously helpful with local attractions and tips for acquiring lobster, as well what restaurants to visit. The cottage was very clean and nicely appointed. Cozy place! Price is very reasonable. We're looking forward to returning soon. Highly recommended.

  • Excellent location, within steps of the ocean. You wake up to a beautiful sunrise. The house is tiny, but very efficiently designed. The furnishings are all modern, clean, and in great condition. The beach allows for dogs after October 1st, so it was fun letting our pup run around and jump in the ocean. He had the best trip ever! Horses are, also, allowed on the beach after October 1st, so we ran into several horses and their friendly owners. Would recommend to anyone that loves the ocean, and would like to get away for a long weekend.

  • The cabin is perfect for an ocean view getaway! I visited with my dog and we took a long beach walk every morning and evening. After Oct. 1 the state beach is usable by those with dogs, and it was a great spot to visit that we could walk to in minutes. On the other end you can walk down to the old fort/historic site which is also great to see. The cabin itself is very nicely done - it's really cute inside and has everything you need. The fridge held our food for the week no problem and it was a huge plus to be able to make meals right there. It rained some while we were there and just sitting in the cabin watching TV with the curtains open to the ocean (it is a spectacular view right from your bed!) was perfect. The instructions were clear for the property, the check in was self-done and simple, and the host is available to contact if needed. A really great, smooth visit!

  • Great location with stunning views. Very cozy with all the necessary amenities.

  • This little cottage is perfect for a couple . It is bright, airy, has most everything you would need for your stay. Mostly, the location is amazing, with only the beach grass and dune between you and the ocean. The stairs to the beach are only steps away. We will definitely be going back!

    Marsha2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is truly magical! The space is very clean, and the views are even better in real life. It was a perfect little cottage for our first anniversary. Even on our one dreary day, it was lovely just to snuggle up and watch the waves. Thank you again!

  • Beautiful location very close to the beach. This is a great little cottage for 2 people - clean and very nicely decorated.

Spacious bedroom with en-suite private bathroom, queen, and twin bed on Harpswell's Great Island. We are steps from an ocean cove (view only), and only 5 miles to Cook's Corner, Brunswick and Route 1; 5-10 miles to oceanside hikes/beaches; and only 40 min. to Portland! This second-floor bedroom has A/C, heat and comfy beds with cotton-rich linens. Enjoy coffee/tea, water cooler, shared mini-fridge and great views of our yard. We have 2 cats and 1 dog, Jaxon, who barks to say hello and goodbye.
This room is upstairs with other Airbnb rooms, so you may meet other travelers on your way upstairs. You have a private bathroom and space, so are welcome to socialize as much as you'd like. We offer kitchen access, but we cook often, so it may not be spotless. You may hear road noise if the windows are open and no fan/AC is running.
We are steps from the ocean and a short walk to the Great Island Boatyard, where you can enjoy views of Orr's Cove and sailboats. We are close to Cook's Corner, shopping, restaurants, and microbreweries.
  • It was wonderful! I felt so good. Everything was clean and Sharon and Rob were really welcoming. The area is very nice. I can highly recommend it!!

  • Clean and spacious!

    Rachel2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • My traveling companion and I enjoyed our stay at Sharon and Rob's place. The room was perfectly clean and very stylish. We loved the en suite bathroom which was also sparkling clean!

  • My friend and I booked a last minute stay when heading up to Maine on a holiday weekend. It was a quick stay but Sharon and Rob's place was exactly what we needed. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the instructions for check in were detailed and easy. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

  • Cozy place for my mom and I to stay for one night! Coffee and tea in the morning was a bonus.

  • Sharon and Rob's place is beautiful! Getting in and out was easy, the location is beautiful and quiet, and the room was super comfortable. We enjoyed talking with both Rob and Sharon, and meeting Jaxon and the kitties. I really appreciated the coffee/tea station and mini-fridge - excellent amenities! Would definitely stay again next time we're in Maine.

    Kameron2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon and Rob’s place was great! My husband, daughter, and I were visiting a local college and the room was perfect for us! It’s brand new, sparkling clean, had some local travel tips in a little booklet, there was water and some glasses and a great new bathroom in the room. We arrived at 9:00 (dark) and instructions on entering the property from the road all the way up to the room were spot on and easy for a tired trio! We met Sharon and Rob the next morning and loved chatting with them for a bit! Great place!

  • The location was sublime. Waking up to foggy mornings on the water was delightful. The home was spotless and well laid out. The games made for a fun time for my small family. Cundy's Harbor is a lovely community, fun to walk around and visit the store and restaurant. Your Island Connection was super easy to work with and everything was as described. What a lovely welcome bag on our arrival, too! Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Julie2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is perfectly located right on the water. It is very peaceful and relaxing. This cottage is located on the “quieter” part of Harpswell with one restaurant and one local store. If you want to stay on the islands and feel that island/vacation vibe like we did (instead of traveling back to Brunswick) be prepared to travel at least 20-30 minutes to explore other parts of the area like Bailey Island. Overall, it was a great stay at Harbors Edge!

MAKE PLANS NOW for a vacation or “mini vacay” to remember in Harpswell! We are consistently fully booked for the summer and early fall season. Minimum number of nights may vary. Welcome to your home away from home! You’ll want to relax and take your time here - so much to see and do! Just a short drive to sunsets beyond belief!! (October 24, 2019) You will find our guidebook (in the studio) insider tips to be invaluable and they will make your stay so much more enjoyable! No added cleaning fee! Pet-free space! Newly installed efficient ductless heat pump for warmth in the winter months and quiet cooling in the summer months. Turn on the propane woodstove style heater for ambiance. Picture a toasty fire with real flames as you enjoy a glass of wine. No drafty seasonal space - bask in year-round comfort regardless of the weather! Enjoy a nice hot chlorine free shower with well water! (like all families with a well, we still need to be mindful of excessive usage - thank you in advance for your help with this!) And excellent drinking water - no need to buy bottled water! We have room for one or two vehicles maximum. Kindly let us know if you will have more than one vehicle. This is a smoke-free space - no smoking (cigarettes or marijuana) , candles or incense are allowed. Once you are here, you will appreciate how stunning this area is! Our studio is a good value in desirable Harpswell. We are THE BEST-SITUATED AirBnb on the Route 24 side of Harpswell leading down to Orrs and Bailey Island for visiting Bath, Brunswick and Topsham and for getting on the highway to venture further. All of these towns are just a few miles and less than 15 minutes away. Bowdoin College is just 6 miles (12 minutes) away. The studio is located at the back of our house considerably far from the road. We live on a two acre piece of property. We are on a busy road, but this means that we are very accessible to many amazing destinations including small beaches (some you need to know how to reach) and hiking trails within 20 minutes and two state parks with beaches within 35 minutes. Our 488 square foot (45 square meters) studio on one level (slight step up between rooms) features a private entrance, bedroom area, large efficiency kitchenette (see details below) and private shower bath. The surprisingly spacious area is bright and airy with lots of windows, high ceilings, two skylights that open and two ceiling fans. The decor is comfortable and eclectic rather than contemporary. We’ve decorated the studio with original artwork and a few nautical touches. Outside you will have your own personal sun space with seasonal gas grill, table and chairs. Lovely garden and water views from our property! Check out our two small sitting areas across the road with spectacular and expansive views of the New Meadows River! Consider it part of our shared outdoor space - it just happens to be across the road. We have tidal water access. All use of this area is at your own risk. Water shoes or sandals are necessary for swimming and use is dependent upon the daily high tide schedule. You have approximately 1.5 to 2 hours before and after high tide for swimming. The ”efficiency plus” kitchenette area features a refrigerator, separate upright freezer, kitchen sink, microwave, countertop convection oven (with toaster feature), coffee maker, glass electric hot water/tea kettle, single state of the art glass induction cooktop (gets rave reviews - heats up fast!), and an electric skillet. We ask that you make every effort to operate only two high wattage appliances at one time. We provide pots and pans, cooking utensils, silverware, tea, coffee, olive oil, butter, condiments, milk and flavored coffee creamer. REGARDING LOBSTERS (A Harpswell Specialty) : We want our space to be fresh, odor free and welcoming, so we ask our guests to refrain from deep fat frying or indoor steaming of lobsters and clams. Outdoor seasonal cooking of lobster and clams may be available with advance notice. Year round at Gurnet Trading (1 minute up the road) you can order lobsters cooked to order and other seafood and non-seafood meals for eat in or take out. Erica’s (open Mother’s Day Weekend to Columbus Day Weekend) is well worth the 25 minute drive to the other side of Harpswell for freshly prepared seafood - a guest favorite! Steamed lobster at market prices with just a slight upcharge! And in Brunswick, a few more places offer steamed lobsters year-round. The studio has a queen bed with soft cotton sheets in the bedroom area along with a newly added futon couch (double). There’s also a pullout queen size couch in the living room. Regarding the sleeping arrangements - it's your choice as to using EITHER the futon in the bedroom area or the queen sized pullout couch as the second bed option. Please let us know so we can leave linens for the second bed for your arrival. We think the space is perfect for two people or at most three good friends or three family members. Both parts of the studio have cathedral ceilings and ceiling fans. The living area has rough-hewn beams that are original to the house and two skylights. There are privacy drapes separating the sleeping from the living space. The living room area has a 42 in HDTV with DirecTV including HBO. (subject to change) We provide an Amazon FireStick (current apps include NetFlix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu - these are subject to change) and a dvd player (there are some dvds in the studio and many other dvds and cds readily available - just ask). Redbox is at several nearby locations. We offer both wifi and an ethernet "hardwire”. Please note that our studio is NOT child proofed. The studio adjoins our home and is separated by a wall and a pantry. Two supermarkets are just up the road (7 minute drive - Shaw's or Walmart), so you can easily get provisions for your stay. Zach's store (2 minute drive) has an excellent selection of wine, beer, liquor (hard liquor prices are the same everywhere in Maine), pizza and some groceries. If you want a big breakfast, we will be happy to recommend one of the local breakfast spots. Cooks Corner shopping area in Brunswick with Sears, TJMAXX, BigLots, Bath and Bodyworks, Staples, Applebee’s, etc. is just 3.5 miles up the road, but we might as well be a world away across the Gurnet Bridge here in Harpswell. We provide a soft side cooler, cool packs and a couple beach towels. If you have kayaks or bicycles, bring them along! There are many public boat launches in the area (one is just a minute away) and some good areas for bicycling as well, particularly the nearby former Navy base. There are also three kayak and paddleboard rental places (two that deliver) and arranged kayak tours available as well as sailboat, schooner, ferry and charter boat tours. (seasonal) And to prospective home buyers - we have a few friends in the business!
We are in a residential area conveniently located to many of the area highlights. We are so spoiled here with scenery and little getaway places! There’s a year round seafood place less than a mile and one minute by car! Eat in or takeout! (5% cash discount). Close by there’s a general store with beer, wine, spirits - and pizza! We are in one of the lobster "capitals" of the world!!! Fresh off the boat and so tasty!! Shopping!! Just 6 minutes (3.5 miles) but worlds away to TJMAXX, Sears, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Bath and Bodyworks, Goodwill, BigLots, DollarTree, etc. Just 15 minutes (6.5 miles) to Target, Reny's, etc. Just 24 minutes (9.5 miles) to all the stores and outlets in Freeport including LL Bean flagship store (open 24 hours, 365 days per year) and the LL Bean outlet store. Breweries!! There are more than 20 breweries within a 45 minute drive, with some as close as 15 minutes away. Check out the Maine Beer Trail! We are very close to Flight Deck, Moderation, Sea Dog, Black Pug and Bath Brewing. Flight Deck is an especially fun place with outdoor and indoor seating. Feel free to bring your own food or order from the food truck.. Moderation is also BYOF. You will need a car to get around, but the driving is easy! You can choose to head towards "civilization" or head in the other direction away from the hustle and bustle - or do a little bit of both. Harpswell is a paradise for lobster lovers and for those who love seafood of all kinds. Unspoiled beauty abounds! Harpswell consists of Great Island, Orr's Island, Bailey Island and the peninsula of South Harpswell. We are surrounded by saltwater here! Late June, July, August and September are simply enchanting! Nearby Brunswick is a college town, so there's plenty to do there - lots of restaurants, several museums and beaches and trails that you can walk along every day of the year. We are directly across the road from the New Meadows River. This saltwater river goes out to Casco Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Our home is located midway between the fun and charming town of Brunswick and the city of Bath (The City of Ships, voted "best main street" recently) We are on Great Island in Harpswell on the way to the Harpswell islands of Orr's Island and Bailey Island. The peninsula of South Harpswell is just across the Mountain Road. This area is a year-round destination for enjoying Maine hospitality and scenery. Grocery stores and many shops and restaurants are within 5 to 15 minutes by car. A favorite outdoor seafood place (byob, cash only)- Erica's - is located on the other side of Harpswell and is open from Mother's Day Weekend to Columbus Day Weekend. Erica's is a must see destination featured in Coastal Living Magazine in June 2018 issue. Harpswell and the neighboring towns of Topsham, Bath and Brunswick have many nature preserves, hiking trails, public boat launches, a riverfront bicycle trail, river and ocean views and walks. What's really great is that many of the natural scenery can be enjoyed for free - so you can plan a whole day for only the cost of your food - brown bag it, get takeout, or dine in a restaurant. There are 184 restaurants in total in the towns of Harpswell, Brunswick, Bath and Topsham according to TripAdvisor. For nature enthusiasts, get a taste of what you can see by going to the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust website. Brunswick also has Bowdoin College with Maine State Music Theatre and the International Music Festival throughout the summer. Bowdoin College also has two museums (an Arctic and an art museum) and the Chamberlain House Museum is just across the street. Bowdoin often has events and performances that are open to the public. So much to do -consignment store shopping, watching a movie at nearby Regal Cinemas feature film movie theater or the independent movie theater or scheduled dinner, live entertainment and film options at the Frontier cafe. Smitty's in Topsham offers movies and food at the same time! Four theaters to choose from with Regal Cinemas just a five minute drive away! We are just off Route 1, so we're in a great location to explore Mid Coast Maine for day trips. Visit Rockland/Camden/Rockport, Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta all within an hour and 20 minutes or less drive. The Maine Maritime Museum is located in Bath. It offers river cruises in the summer. We are less than 20 minutes (12 miles) from Live Well Farm, a very popular venue for weddings and retreats. The intriguing and fun city of Portland (with a tremendous number of restaurants, breweries, bars, museums, lighthouses, beaches etc.) is an easy 35 minute drive. Portland has become THE foodie destination- recently voted #1 by Bon Appetit magazine (2018). Augusta, Maine's capitol city, is also about 40 minutes away. Take a spectacular noontime scenic cruise of Casco Bay just down the road from us on Bailey Island (June 22 - Sept 2, 2019). USA's #1 voted favorite place (according to Good Morning America 2014 poll) Acadia National Park is a three hour drive. We're a good stopping point on the way to Acadia in Bar Harbor if you are heading north. There are some beaches and special places that are only accessible off season - yet another reason to visit any time of the year! Beaches are almost always walkable -even when there's snow on the ground. Schedule horseback riding on Popham Beach from October 1st through March 31st. We have many brochures and a helpful “cheat sheet”, so you can put off the planning until you arrive and then comfortably explore the area. Many of our guests have used our Harpswell Heritage Land Trust brochure with a map, description and directions to some amazingly beautiful places that require only an easy hike or drive to visit.
  • Beautiful place !! Super clean very nice

  • This studio apartment is located on one of the most beautiful peninsulas in Maine, literally across the street from a coastal inlet - which dramatically fills up, and then empties to mud flats during low tide! So much to do in this area, with close proximity to a Country Store and a Lobster Shack in less than a mile. Also close proximity to Freeport, Bath, and Brunswick... under a half hour... and myriads of outdoor and Hiking choices. The hosting couple thought of everything! From spices to bathroom needs, everything was addressed and provided that we had forgotten to take! Plenty of towels and sheets. Very clean place. They are also personable and conversational, but very respectful of our privacy as well. Lots of television options, too. Hope to stay there again in the future!

  • Bill and Alane’s place is lovely - super quaint and cozy. Alane was very quick to respond to my messages, even though she and Bill were away for the first day or so. Alane made us pancakes one morning - they were delicious! She gave us recommendations on what to do in the area, but also gave us space to do our own thing. Also, their dog Jimmy is adorable :)

  • We booked a 2 night stay with very short notice. At check in we were greeted and given all of the in's and out's of dining and hiking in the area. We ended up having a great time and enjoying several beach hikes in the surrounding area.

  • Our stay was everything we were hoping for. A beautiful view from sunrise to sunset. We saw a variety of ducks, loons and an eagle. Be sure to bring your binoculars, you won’t be disappointed. The apartment was private and very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. There are also good restaurants and walking trails nearby, a perfect get away.

    Susan2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • There are many great waterfront places on the islands but what sets this place apart is the crashing waves right outside the door. My visiting wife and my local family were thoroughly impressed. We relaxed while watching the ocean for hours. We will be back.

    Nathan2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Edgecliff is the perfect property for two people to get away from it all. The view is amazing; we would sit for hours just listening to the waves crashing on shore while watching sail boats pass by and lobster boats at work. The apartment has all the important modern conveniences, including a well-equipped kitchen and reliable wi-fi. Although it was warm when we were there, there was always a nice breeze so we were very comfortable. The location is fairly convenient and I enjoyed taking in the sunrise from the nearby Giant’s Stairway trail.

  • Our stay at the cottage was perfect! Great view at the cozy harbor and a very nice and quiet place in nature. Thank you for all!

  • The Drake Cottage is hidden treasure. We had a great Maine experience staying there and in Cundsy’s Harbor. I did not know what I would need for a trip where I expected to cook some meals in, so I brought the staples, but did not need to. The cottage had everything I needed. I just had to add the fresh ingredients. The deck was so nice with chairs to relax in and a dinning table and chairs. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom sufficient. The cottage was also beautifully decorated for a cozy feel.

  • Great space for us and our dog Ruby. Close distance to Maine Street and all it has to offer. We tried three local breweries in Brunswick (all allow dogs!) The space is decorated simply but amazingly all in the same. The extra touches went a long way. We didn’t get a chance to peek into the art studio but I am sure we would have been pleased if we did. Highly recommend!

Completely renovated 2019 Popham Beach cottage! You simply cannot beat this location. Come stays steps from from the beach, Fort Popham, and Spinneys restaurant! Please do not hesitate to ask us questions! We apologize for not having many new pictures available yet. Renovations are underway and will be finished around May 1, 2019!
If you know Popham, you know how awesome this location is!
  • The cottage is clean, thoughtfully furnished (the kitchen had everything necessary to prepare and serve meals!) and very comfortable. It is located in very close proximity to Popham Beach - even though we visited in the winter, we were able to enjoy a few walks along the sand. The upstairs game room was a great space to keep our little ones entertained when it was cold outside. Our family enjoyed our stay very much.

    Katherine2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Really cute place, near the beautiful Popham Beach. Perfect setup for dog owners. Everything is in good conditions. There's a seafood restaurant at the corner of the street. Try one the chowders, they are all very good!

    Nicolas2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, right near water and fort popham. You can tell it was updated and modern but still felt very cozy and just like you were at home! Plenty of room for six of us!

With a 100 yard walk to the ocean you can't beat this location!
We are located between the Popham Beach state park and Fort Popham. Both are nice walks by beach from the house.
  • Great weekend getaway place.

    Harsh2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great space for a family getaway. So close to the beach, you can hear the waves. Mahbella felt very homey and inviting. Lots of space for quiet time and play. Relaxing.

  • The house was lovely and the beach was perfect. Would highly recommend this rental!

    Cheryl2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Mah-Bella, the location was amazing. It is almost right on the beach, there is nothing between the house and the path down to the beach except a small dirt road so you can hear the waves and have a great view of the ocean from upstairs. We were the only ones in the neighborhood but it was the dead of winter. We went when it was below zero at night but the house is warm and cozy and the living room is nice and sunny. We had the beach to ourselves most of the time and it was great being able to bring our little dogs. The house was very spacious and had everything we needed. The cell phone service was a little spotty so it was a comfort to have a landline just in case. It was just the two of us but it would be a great spot for kids, the third floor is all set up for them with a tv and movies and plenty of sleeping area. The second floor has a pool table and tons of games and another tv.

    Claudia2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location!!! The ocean is literally right across the road. Pet-friendly was a plus. Toys and games for kids. Warm and cozy. Had everything we needed. For grocery and restaurants in off-season, drive about 20min to Bath, ME, which is also a quaint little town with cute shops.

    Casey2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Randy is a great host and beautiful beach house steps away from Popham beach and fort Popham. The house was spacious and we had a great time hosting family on Christmas Day with the game room. The house was nice and warm even on a crisp winter day in December. Will definitely do it again in the near future.

    Roland2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here in December and although it was chilly outside it was wonderful. We were fortunate to get some snow, and walking on the snowy beach was magical. Since it's not the high season we were pretty much the only ones in the neighborhood, and certainly the only ones on the beach, and that was really neat and different. The house stayed nice and cozy and there was so much to do between the pool table, games and puzzles. The kitchen has everything you could want for cooking and the house fit 7 of us comfortably. It's great that the house is in the woods but a dash from the beach. We walked up and down the beach many times - to Fort Popham State Park where we got to walk to Fox Island at low tide (while it was snowing - so cool!) - to Fort Baldwin on the other side. We also drove about 5 minutes to a nearby park Morse Mountain and did a short hike to an amazing scenic view. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in this gorgeous place! We would love to come back.

    Kate2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in an amazing location on our favorite beach! It was clean and had everything you’d expect from a beach house. We were there in the winter so we only saw a few people and our dogs were in heaven (wonderful that they were allowed to join us). Water was provided which is helpful and remember nothing much is open off season so bring food! There is plenty of space for a big family/group... we didn’t use most of the house being only two of us. We would highly recommend this beach house and hope to return in the future. Remember to bring your own bedding (which is no big deal)!

We're now taking reservations for stays starting May 1, 2020. Our cottage is one of four on a ten-acre peninsula on the east side of the mouth of the Kennebec River. It's a serene, lovely spot overlooking Todd Bay, a shallow tidal basin/flat off the main river channel. Our children learned to kayak in the bay (a path leads from our deck, along which they also picked blueberries). The thirteen summers we spent there--and many winter holidays--were magical for us. We hope your time will be too.
The cottage is insulated to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. Its primary heat is from baseboard electric units in all the rooms, with a small wood stove in the living room. For summer, there are ceiling fans in the bedrooms, living room, and dining room, and there's usually a breeze blowing up from Todd Bay. It comfortably accommodates six, with two large bedrooms and one smaller "guest room." All three have large closets, and the bigger two rooms have dressers or built-in drawers; the guest room has two luggage stands in the closet. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking anything from blueberry pancakes in the morning to lobsters, corn, and clams at the end of the day. We acquired the cottage in 2002 and enjoyed it in many different ways. In the summer we spent a lot of time on the screened porch, watching the weather coming in from the west, the tides rolling in and out of the Bay, and the birds in the trees that framed our view. We watched red-gold sunsets and, later in the evenings, fireflies down the slope. The cottage was our home base for exploring the tidal waters in kayaks that we kept at the end of our path, for digging clams at low tide, and for driving across Georgetown Island to lobster rolls on the wharf at Five Islands, or to the long beaches and surf of Reid State Park. There's always something to do in Georgetown and its surrounding communities. When it rained we stayed inside and read, or played games with our kids, or went to the Maritime Museum in Bath or the Boothbay Aquarium. We have prepared an expanded "house manual" for our guests in which we list many of our favorite local destinations; you'll receive a digital version when you make a reservation, and you'll find a paper copy in the cottage on your arrival. In the fall and winter we came whenever we could. In October the road down from Bath blazed with astonishingly bright color, and as the leaves fell we saw more and more of the Kennebec River from our windows. Usually snow would fall by late December, a treat for our Californian children. We have decided to keep the cottage open for rental through late autumn for guests who want to experience Maine in its beautiful, quiet off-seasons. It has idiosyncrasies. The main entrance is through the laundry room/"mudroom" (an advantage in winter). Like all other Georgetown homes, it's on a well/septic system, so guests need to be careful about water use, but in fact we've always had enough. There's no trash pickup, and we'll leave instructions on taking trash to the town's Transfer Station two and a half miles up the road. There's a wi-fi network for the house (and a small study with some great views), but no cable TV; we rely on streaming services. And the closest gas stations and supermarkets are in Bath, twelve miles or so to the north.
Georgetown is a town and island at the mouth of the Kennebec, connected by bridges to the mainland. Its center is about nine miles south of Route 1 and the small city of Bath, Maine. The cottage is two and a half miles south of Georgetown Center, in Bay Point, one of the quietest neighborhoods of Georgetown Island. It's rural and slow-paced in our southwest corner of the island, but there's plenty to do in Georgetown and beyond: sandy beaches, hiking trails, historical sites, museums, antique stores, restaurants of all kinds. We've been exploring midcoast Maine for thirty summers (and several winters) and still feel like newcomers. We've prepared a guide in the cottage for our guests to some of our favorite nearby destinations, but you'll probably find things we didn't know about. In all our explorations, however, we've valued most being able to come home to the quiet of Todd Bay and Spinney Point.
  • A gem of a place in a beautiful location. Great host as well...would like to return in summer

  • John’s house was perfect for our family of 4. Plenty of room, yet cozy too. We loved waking up to the beautiful view across the way. The girls took lots of photos from the deck. We plan to return again next year.

    Shannon2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very nice stay at John's place. Needed a writing retreat for a few days and it was just what I was after. Lovely well-appointed home, quiet, peaceful, beautiful setting, glorious water views. Would definitely stay again.

    John2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • John was the sweetest host and it was a spectacular stay! My family members loved it! Unfortunately, I got ill before we drove up but they really enjoyed the whole experience learning about the hosts winding down with a fire and the simplistic tone of the house! So thoughtful especially the muffins welcoming us to the home in the fridge and the binoculars! This is an idyllic location and I do hope to stay again and for a much longer time, it was just not long enough! Also, there was a storm before we stayed and john was so responsive and observant about the power outage at the cottage the power ended up turning on before we left thank goodness it was meant to be! He sent this beautiful picture of the sunset and said so glad this worked out via email! I really appreciated that touch! I really don't like writing reviews but this one deserves the effort and again I was sick I wasn't even there yet the host and my family sent out rays of welcoming energy.

Experience the airiness of life up among the pines in Georgetown, ME. Unique structures perched atop 21-acre wooded hill sloping to water views. Set in classic coastal Maine village with Reid State Park beaches and famed Five Islands Lobster Co. River views from the King size bed, through wall of windows. 4 Day minimum (but if you see an opening between other bookings, drop us a note - you'll have to select a random 4 days to contact us.)
Part tree house, part tiny house, this abode is called "Isle au Haut" ("High Island"), named after an island in northern Maine. The dwelling consists of two elevated structures connected by a rope bridge (elevated on posts and trees). We've used vintage and salvaged materials when possible. STRUCTURE #1: a bedroom, with a wall of south facing windows affording stunning river views. Includes KING SIZE BED (or two twin beds upon request). STRUCTURE #2: includes a small kitchen and dining area with large windows for water views, a small full bathroom, and a screened-in porch with rockers and river views. Kitchen includes: two-burner stove, sink, small fridge, pots, pans, dishes, toaster oven (no regular oven). NOTE on PICS: the exterior pictures included here are actually pictures of our other tree dwelling ("Madawaska"). Madawaska's two structures are connected by a deck, as you can see, whereas Isle au Haut's structures are connected by a rope bridge. PLEASE NOTE: as much as we love pets we have a strict no-pet policy in our dwellings! AUTUMN VISITS: Come stay in the tree dwelling in Autumn for stunning views of foliage. The dwellings are well insulated and contain heating units. THE VIEWS: Both structures have views across down the large tidal Back River. In the distance you can see where the Back River meets up with Kennebec River just before both flow into open ocean and past Seguin Island (where a light house was commissioned by George Washington). Across the Back River from the land lie hundreds of acres of pristine conservation land. See our listing on Airbnb called "Modern Tree Dwelling with Water Views and Cedar Hot Tub"
We are located in the picturesque coastal village of Georgetown, Maine (which includes Five Islands). Reid State Park, with its beautiful, sandy beaches and hiking trails, is just a few miles from us in Georgetown. Be sure to visit the Five Islands Lobster Co., for best lobsters, lobster rolls, fish sandwich, corn on the cob--and harbor views. Five Islands Farm and Gourmet Market is excellent source of fine wine, beers, local produce, meats, cheeses, gifts. Also check out the Robinhood Free Meetinghouse online for local live music events. We are a ten minute drive from the town of Bath Maine which has great coffee shop (Cafe Creme), bookstore (the Mustard Seed), deli (Live Edge), grocery store (Bracket's Market), health food store (Bath Natural Market), great yoga studio (Ebb and Flow), BBQ (Beale St.
  • The treehouse is amazing. I recommend planning on spending time at the treehouse and at Reid State Park. We really enjoyed the quiet and the views and left as little as possible.

    Katie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was a slice of heaven on earth. The breezes blowing, the leaves rustling, the views of the bay and inlet, the bridge connecting bedroom to the kitchen & bath was fun and made us feel adventurous. Just a remarkable place. The design was rustic and yet had everything one would need. Just so thoughtfully and tastefully done. We loved the treehouse and our time there!!

    Rachel2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical! My boyfriend and I love to visit Maine and this was our second time visiting the tree house. If you want to completely relax I highly recommend booking this tree house!

    Amber2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. It is cozy and the small space is very well thought-out. We loved sitting in the screened deck and taking in the morning views (chilly in September, but still nice!). The location is great; you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but it’s still very close to small local stores, shops, and small towns are not far either. Marsha is very helpful and provided many suggestions of things to see in the area. We totally planned our vacation around this beautiful Airbnb, and it was a great relaxing and nature-y experience. I’m not usually one to repeat trips, but I’ll be very tempted to visit here again someday!! Thanks Marsha!

Our room was spotless and the bed warm and comfortable. We both appreciated thoughtful touches like interesting books and a french press for Coffee. It would be a wonderful place to stay for a longer visit sometime.

We would both reccomend this stay and come again!

Some decor is coastal themed with other items from my travels and overseas job placements. The kitchen is well supplied with dishes, glasses, cooking and baking pots and pans. A back deck is nearly exclusive to guests, only sharing a grill with the owner. Bring your kayaks or small sailboat and launch in the neighborhood or at other nearby sites!
Sebasco Estates is a village within the town of Phippsburg just south of Bath. The area is rich with boat building and fishing industries that have a long history in this coastal Maine region. The neighborhood consists of nine cottages on a private camp road across the small harbor from an acclaimed resort.
  • Beautiful cottage situated in Sebasco harbor. We had a wonderful time in Elizabeth’s apartment that was so much more that we imagined before arrival. The neighborhood is really calme, has only a private road access so you hardly ever see or hear anyone. From the kitchen living room there is a wonderful view on the trees of the front yard and the bay is only a few meters away. The house was perfectly equipped and absolutely clean. The bedroom was also beautifully arranged and beds were very comfortable. We traveled with our 18 month old son in Maine for almost two weeks and Elizabeth’s place was one of our best experience. She is very responsive and discreet, gave us nice advices about local restaurants and hikes and made our stay so comfortable. Overall a perfect experience!

  • Clean, spacious and close to all that Maine has to offer for a seaside adventure. Also, liked the convenience of the restaurant and pub at Sebasco resort.

  • Excellent in all respects

  • We absolutely loved our stay! It was our first time visiting Maine, and we couldn't have asked for a better location for exploring the coast. Liz's communication was fantastic, and she gave us lots of recommendations for the area before we arrived, so we had plenty of time to plan our visit. Her cottage is right across the street from the water, and is so peaceful and quiet. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

  • The Sea Rose cottage is a peaceful place to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of glorious mid-coast Maine. We loved the comfortable and cozy feeling of the cottage, and the interesting art pieces from Elizabeth’s many travels. The cottage is so well located for excursions. We hiked Merritt Mountain, ate at Anna’s, spent a day at Popham, poked around Sebasco Resort, and visited a friend in Georgetown. The games, puzzles, toys, and high chair were much appreciated and thoughtful touches for the kiddos. Elizabeth was a kind host, easy to communicate with and made sure we were comfortable and had all our questions answered. Worth noting that the bathroom is fabulous and the back porch and grill are great amenities. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • Wonderful stay!

    Nikki2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, bright and well equipped place to call home while on vacation in Maine. Wonderful location and friendly and helpful host. The neighbors were also friendly and welcoming. While vacationing here we were lucky to spot osprey, juvenile eagles and herons in the neighborhood! We also had daily seal sightings at Popham Beach! Definitely recommend staying here!

Enjoy gorgeous views of the Sasanoa River (also known as Robinhood Cove) and the surrounding foliage of Midcoast Maine when you stay at this beautiful Georgetown home, a secluded waterfront getaway with a deep water dock and a wrap-around deck. Stunningly positioned on a large peninsula property only 200 feet from the calm, saltwater cove's edge, this two-level home is just five miles from the town of Georgetown and the Josephine Newman Audubon Sanctuary, nine miles from the historic city of Bath, and 10 miles from the lovely seascapes of Reid State Park. The great room is full of natural light and exposed knotty pine, creating a warm and welcoming living space for families, boating enthusiasts, and all lovers of the outdoors. Relax in the window seat as you admire the sweeping river views, grab a book from the shelves to read on one of the sofas, or use the generous supply of wood to build a fire in the cozy wood stove. After a day of kayaking on the Sasanoa River or strolling along Mile Beach in Reid State Park, gather your family for a movie night in front of the flatscreen cable TV, VCR, and DVD player. Upload some pictures of you on the water over the WiFi. Pick up some fresh local steamers and lobsters from the legendary Five Islands Lobster Co. and prepare a seafood feast in the spacious full kitchen. You'll have plenty of cabinet space to store your groceries, as well as a dishwasher to take care of the clean-up. There is seating for eight around the dining table in the great room, but you'll spend most of the summer and fall around the patio table on the deck. Launch your kayak from the dock to enjoy an invigorating morning paddle, watch the kids as they play tag on the grass, or soak in the sun from a seat on the deck. With two bedrooms and a loft, this home can sleep as many as six guests. You'll find a queen-size bed and a twin in the master bedroom, as well as direct access to the deck. The loft offers another queen-size bed, while the guest room on the main floor has two double beds. The main floor also features one full bathroom, two half-baths, and a private washer/dryer for your convenience. Celebrated by birders, fishermen, and artists for decades, the island of Georgetown offers a glimpse of Midcoast Maine at its best. Enjoy views of the Cuckolds Light, the Hendricks Head Light, and Seguin Island Light Station from Reid State Park, or set sail to reach the point where the Sheepscot River meets the great Atlantic Ocean. Come and experience the beauty of Midcoast Maine - a stay at this wonderful Georgetown home will become a tradition for years to come! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.
  • House was beautiful and the setting could not have been more perfect. We would not hesitate to recommend to others. Only drawback was the sofas and mattresses are very old and could use replacing.

  • This location was a slice of heaven. The house had perfect spaces for spending time together as a group and all the necessary kitchen amenities. The large porch and screened in porch allowed us to spend tons of time outdoors basking in the beautiful views. Would highly recommend this house. Great location and easy communication.

    Courtney2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin with stunning view. Peaceful, relaxing and full of wildlife wonders. We saw dear in the back yard, harbor seal off the dock and lots of birds. We all enjoyed the row boat too.

    Joanna2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice woodsy cabin on the water.

    Katharine2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious, beautiful views, very private. Hope to be back.

    Kenneth2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • No photo could ever do justice to how amazingly beautiful this place is, inside and out. The perfect blend of comfort and camp, we never wanted to leave this picture perfect location, with perfect swimming both off the dock and around the corner in the inlet. If you’re considering a stay here, just book it now. There isn’t a chance of regret.

    Benjamin2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully crafted views, and cosy charming cottage are words that will not do the place justice. Don't make our mistake and stay only a few days-spend all the time you can, it's fabulous!

Stay in our custom designed tree dwelling w/ wood-fired cedar hot tub up among the trees! This unique structure is perched atop a 21-acre wooded hill sloping to water views. Enjoy stunning views from the King size bed through a wall of windows. Located in a classic coastal Maine village w/ Reid State Park's miles of beaches + famed Five Islands Lobster Co. (See 2 other tree dwellings on our 21 acre property listed on AirBnb as "Tree Dwelling w/Water Views." See our reviews!).
Part modern tree house, part tiny house, this abode is called "Souhegan" (which means "Watching Place") because of the gorgeous views of the river and neighboring conservation land. The dwelling consists of two elevated structures connected by a rope bridge (structures are elevated on posts and trees); a second rope bridge leads to a wood-fired cedar hot tub elevated up among the trees. We've used vintage and salvaged materials when possible. STRUCTURE #1: a two-story structure: master bedroom on the second floor (accessed via a SPIRAL STAIRCASE), with a wall of south facing windows affording stunning river views; includes KING SIZE BED (or two twin beds upon request); on the first floor is a small kitchen and dining area (with large windows for water views), a small full bathroom, and a screened-in porch with rockers and river views. Kitchen includes: two-burner stove, sink, small fridge, pots, pans, dishes, toaster oven (no regular oven) and, importantly, cork screw! STRUCTURE #2: is a convertible space with a wall of water-facing windows. UPON REQUEST (for an extra fee of $20 per person/per night, this fee includes labor of converting the living room space into a bedroom + extra linens and towels for the extra guests), we can set it up as a second bedroom (with either King size bed or two twins, do let us know at least one day in advance) or we can set it up as a living room space with sofas and coffee table. There is a water-facing veranda off the front of Structure #2. PLEASE NOTE: as much as we love pets we have a strict no-pet policy in our dwellings! There are 2 other tree dwellings on our 21 acre property listed on AirBnb as "Tree Dwelling w/Water Views." See our reviews! WINTER VISITS: The tree dwelling will be available 11 months out of the year. February 1-Jan 1. IN WINTER MOTNHS WE CAN ONLY HOUSE 2 GUESTS IN THIS DWELLING. They stay super cozy on cold nights, and there is no better time of year to sit in the hot tub, snow flakes swirling around you. Warm up after a day of cross country skiing or snowshoeing. Part of the year, this tree dwelling will be used for the Seguin Artist in Residence Program at the Back River Institute, which is under development. Use of KAYAK's and CANOE's are included with rental and available at anytime during your stay
Also check out Robinhood Free Meetinghouse online for their local live music events just down the road from the dwelling. We are a ten minute drive from the town of Bath Maine which has great coffee shop (Cafe Creme), bookstore (the Mustard Seed), deli (the Living Edge), grocery store (Bracket's Market), health food store (Bath Natural Market), great yoga studio (Ebb and Flow), BBQ (Beale St. BBQ), fine dining (Solo Bistro), Maine Maritime Museum, and locally famous Reny's!
