Places to stay in Santa Fe
Spacious yurt near SF with 2 decks, amazing views of the mountains and a herd of 11 llamas. Peaceful, sunny place for nature lovers. Santa Fe River walk park 5 minutes away. Guided llama tours for a $25 donation to our feed the llamas fund. For guests on Fridays we offer our guests free admission to our Roswell alien themed roller rink, Rockin' Rollers and a slice of my neo-Neapolitan cheese pizza
This is a private location in a rural setting with views of every mountain in northern New Mexico. The yurt is exquisitely constructed using Kentucky yellow pine. Wide open feeling with lots of light from 4 windows and 2 doors. Kitchen with stove top, microwave, refrigerator and sink. Bathroom with composting toilet and shower.
Friendly neighbors with horses and other livestock. Quiet, rural. Near the park and walking trails. Views of the mountains are always changing with the seasons.
  • We had a great time at the yurt and can't wait to come back. Our three-year-old wasn't wild about the llamas up close - he's kind of a city-slicker - but was happy to say good morning and good night to them from the door of the yurt each day. Cosmo the dog was his fave. We loved watching the sunset from the deck, too. Bill and Robbyn are gracious hosts, and happy to answer questions and offer recommendations. If you're looking for a place with personality, just a bit off the beaten path, yurt it up.

  • We love the rustic experience of being in a yurt, being able to experience the weather and nature more directly than in a hotel setting. The sunrise is beautiful! The yurt has a clear view 50-60 miles view ahead. Bill's yurt is only 7 min drive from amenities (Sprouts grocery, Starbucks, restaurants). It is ideally situated in an area that feels rural, yet is right by the city. The yurt itself is spacious enough for our family of 4. The kids really enjoyed the bean bags and Cordaroy beds. This type of bed can be a bit lumpy for the adults, and takes a bit of work to fluff up flat. The adults had ok sleep - we were pretty tired from a lot of hiking. During our stay, Santa Fe had a historic rainstorm event and we experienced 2-3 inches of rain / hour with high winds and hail. We were in the yurt, enjoyed an hour long lightning show (no thunder so it was really far away), watched the storm slowly moved towards us, and then saw dust storms in the distance before it hit us. When the storm arrived, it was really fun for us grown-ups. Kids got a bit scared but they experienced something real first hand, which is valuable. We enjoyed the feeling of wind outside, and hearing the pitter patter of rain from within the yurt. The yurt shook a bit, but was very sturdy. There were quite a few drips and another bigger puddle by the fireplace due to the immense rainstorm, but Bill mentioned he has plans to deal with them. Many places in Santa Fe flooded, so we did well. We will never forget the experience. It was so real. Good thing we were in the yurt not in a hotel then, for we would have missed this!

  • Bill was a most welcoming host and his yurt really is a top-tier glamping experience. We loved coming home to his cozy little sanctuary. Next time we'll make a point of being in town on a Friday to get the full experience!

  • It was an unforgettable experience staying in Bill & Robbyn's yurt. Their place was very special to me and my husband, not only because of their unique property but also because how that the 2 nights we spent staying there, having just a few conversations and interactions, could changed us in a way. They gave us new perspectives about life, nature, and sustainability. Bill & Robbyns were very lovely and gracious hosts, they emit those positive vibes right from the start when they welcomed us. And their Llamas are such a joy during our stay! We can't recommend enough this Enchanted yurt. Agree with the other review, I already missed that peaceful moment when I lay down on bed and look up at the ceiling, watching the fire flicker and listening to the sound of pile of snow falling from the roof every now and then. Would love to experience another stay here in the summer!

  • Bill and Robbyn are wonderful hosts. The llamas, as well as the dogs, make the experience truly enchanting. We enjoyed every second of our stay and will be back...

  • Staying at the yurt was a unique experience we will never forget. Bill and Robbyn were excellent hosts who were more than willing to share information about the area and landscape. The communication with them was great. They were there both to meet us when we arrived and to send us off when it was time to leave. They obviously have very fond memories of many of their guests and encourage you to leave a small trinket behind in the garden as a remembrance of your stay. The yurt was bigger than we expected and had everything we needed. Our family has two adults and two college students, and there was plenty of room for us all to be comfortable. The views from the deck were beautiful, especially watching the sunset and stargazing at night. The location was convenient to restaurants, stores and Meow Wolf art experience, which is a must-see for anyone visiting the area. Most especially we enjoyed getting to know the llamas. They were delightful to watch and made the experience even more special. We are glad we chose to stay at the yurt and experience Santa Fe in this unique way. It was definitely a special time for us.

  • Cozy space. Friendly llamas to greet you just out the back door. Host introduced us to the llamas, and shared some fun facts about them. Enjoyed our stay.

  • My son fell in love with the llamas and had a great time in Santa Fe. Fun family adventure and wonderful hosts!

  • Absolutely lovely Yurta! So comfortably decorated and the bed was amazing! Loved sitting in the chairs and star gazing for theevening! !

    Elizabeth2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Gregory is very communicative and Robbie is so kind and hospitable. This trip is one my boyfriend and I will never forget. The yurt is so chic and beautiful, the kitchen is fully equipped, we cooked an entire steak and veggie dinner over the fire pit and the food turned out amazing! It wasn't difficult to find the location from the airport and we attended the ABQ Balloon festival very easily. This is one experience that has been etched in our hearts forever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to you both.

    Irma2018-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay, I wish we could have stayed longer. The space they have created is magical, the yurt was super clean, cozy and beautifully decorated. The stargazing area and places to sit and eat are in the the middle of a beautiful garden. Included on the property is an orchard and vineyard, the Concord grapes were delicious. My boyfriend loved the outdoor shower and bathroom.

    Gretchen2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Was an absolutely wonderful experience. Its quiet and peaceful. Loved natures aroma of juniper and lavender. Met Greg and felt very welcomed. Would definitely recommend staying in the beautiful yurt Wish our stay was longer.

  • Our night in the Yoga Yurta exceeded our expectations by far! A luxurious and at the same time rustic living space. Robbie and Gregory are exceptional hosts and have created fabulous indoor and outdoor living spaces. Wish we could have enjoyed the outdoor kitchen area which had almost every convenience you could think of. Definitely worth checking out!

  • I highly recommend staying at Shelly’s. The yurt was lovely.

  • Such a cool experience! The Yurt was clean and stocked with everything we needed. I definitely want to come back!

  • We got in late at night and they were so awesome to communicate with us and make sure we found our way through the back roads in the dark. The space is beautiful, and waking up to those views is unbeatable. Will definitely be back for another visit soon!

    Meghan2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The little yurt was awesome! My boyfriend and I️ stayed for two night, and could’ve stayed more! The yurt was cozy and comfy for the two of us. Shelly was a great host and drove us in and out of the land a couple times. We decided to play it safe and not drive our car in, but probably could’ve made it if we took it slow. We walked from the yurt back to our car and it was a nice 45 minute walk. The desert, the sun, the stars, the moon.

    Megan2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Shelly's magical property in the dessert was a special way to begin my summer. The peace and quiet, her kindness and affable nature, and the beauty of the landscape will bring me back! What a gem.

  • I can’t say enough nice things about this place. Shelly is a fantastic host! Responded quickly, gave great tips for the area, and the view from the yurt is breathtaking. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

This heated yurt offers a unique way to enjoy Santa Fe. For those who want to camp with a flair, this 30 ft diameter yurt is beyond a tent but not quite a house. We designed an experience with your comfort in mind. Although there is no running water, there is a makeshift kitchen with 5 gallon containers for drinking and washing. The outhouse is a short walk from the yurt and the solar shower is right outside. Set in the pinon pine forest, this yurt is ready for your memorable Santa Fe visit!
This affordable Santa Fe experience is not for everyone. There are 8 steps that lead up to the yurt so guests should be confidant on their feet. It is rustic since it has no running water but it does have a gas heater and electricity. We have tried to make it just as comfortable as it can be though with a comfy king sized bed, nice furnishings, a microwave, barbecue, solar shower and fancy outhouse. It is a unique experience for those who have an adventurous spirit. We think you will like it a lot!
  • It's a nice and magical place. You have to be willing to experience a rustic time, but it's really enjoyable! We didn't meet the host but she made our stay very easy going.

    Urs2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was big and clean and charming. Yes, you have to shower outside and use an outhouse. But the outhouse is clean. And it was all worth it when it poured rain and we got to isten to the rain fall on the roof.... Heaven. We also loved sitting on the patio with books in the afternoon.

    David2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place and so comfortable! At first I was concerned I wouldn't sleep well with a highway fairly nearby. But there was a sound machine available, and soft flowing water sounds in addition to a very comfortable bed made for a great uninterrupted night's sleep. The yurt is beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

    Terry2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The stars here are incredible! It's still fairly close to other houses, and RV's, but it still feels private and cozy. If you are looking for a comfortable place to hang out for a while, this is it.

    Laurel2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! We would definitely stay here again! The bed is huge and really comfy. It is way bigger than the pictures make it look.

    Erin2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay! The yurt is a lot larger than expected and has everything you need and more.

    Brooke2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was super cosy! Especially at night. It was spacious and a great glamping experience. However, if you are sensitive to noise or want total seclusion you should wear earplugs when sleeping. I found the road quite noisy even with noise machine and there are several dogs in the area loving to have barking and howling competitions.

This beautifully appointed Colorado style yurt is on acreage that borders the Embudo River in Dixon, NM. Walk with your coffee to the river and meditate. Breakfast served each morning. Dixon is a lovely community known for its history, culture and art. SPRING FLING special. Book 2- get 3. Does not include Fri- Sat. Book 2 and I’ll block the 3rd, but check that it’s available and communicate this to me.
I live in a yurt full time on the property . I am committed to this simple, light footprint and live to share it. We only use natural simple cleaners. Our sheets and comforters are cotton and down. Everything is washed in environmentally safe detergents with no scents and dried in the sunshine. The floors are wood. Our food is local and organic whenever possible. We avoid disposable products unless they are compostable. We surround your stay with natural beauty, natural local body care products and local art! The Queen size memory foam bed has 500 count cotton sheets. There is power in the yurt. Cell phone service can be sporadic on site, but it is better in town which is 1.5 miles down the road. The library has computers, wifi, copies, scanning and faxing. There is clean water available in the yurt in a water dispensing crock and a Brita water pitcher. An electric kettle is provided as well as tea and coffee and a coffee press. It is expected that guests will enjoy the local restaurants rather than preparing meals on site. There is a hot plate for warming up food. The outdoor kitchen has running water for 3 seasons and it is drained for the winter. The separate bathroom is now usable all seasons! Hot and cold water cast iron tub/shower....soak with local herbal products. Water is available on site in the winter and electric for heating water. Do not consider staying in the winter unless you are proficient with a wood stove.
We are located in a rural agricultural valley...known as the apple basket. Dixon is an hour north of Santa Fe and 40 minutes south of Taos. Sipapu ski valley is 40 minutes away. We are 40 minutes from Ojo Caliente Resort and hot springs. All drives are lovely...we are on the Taos High Road Scenic Route. We have rafting, paddle boarding, hiking, galleries, skiing, fishing, shopping and so much more. The annual Dixon Studio Tour just completed. Book early for next year. Stay with us and ski Sipapu! Even in the winter we have beautiful sunny days!
  • LisaAnn went above and beyond to make our anniversary trip special - she is a stellar host! The yurt is perfectly located for exploring Taos and Santa Fe, but we also enjoyed the amenities and beauty of the property, plus the co-op and winery right down the street. We felt at home and enjoyed all the special touches LisaAnn included throughout our visit. It's truly and enchanting place to relax and unplug - we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

    Kelly2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • What can I possibly say that hasn't been said about this host and property? What a great weekend! Please don't wonder if this is too "rustic"; I am not a camper or glamper, and this room was larger, cleaner, more beautiful, and completely and thoroughly appointed than any hotel we've stayed in for a long while. If your idea of "love the night life" is to see stars you haven't seen in years, here's your place!

    Laurel2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you are interested in yurt living LisaAnn's space is the place to try it. She was kind and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed--and even gave us a tutorial on how to use the wood burning stove. It was a peaceful, comfortable getaway and relatively close to Taos and Santa Fe.

    Jaime2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival we could tell that LisaAnn had a very special space to offer. The yurt and grounds were beautiful and LisaAnn was incredibly welcoming. We arrived late and hadn’t eaten and she did not hesitate to offer us a few items for dinner. This is the type of host she is - genuinely caring and accommodating. We had an amazing time in the surrounding area of Dixon, with phenomenal recommendations from LisaAnn. I forgot my toothbrush, there was one there for me! This air bnb is truly everything we could have dreamed of (and more). The Enchantment Yurt is now our favorite getaway from the city!

    Laura2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at LisaAnn's Yurt. It was a beautiful location that surpassed our expectations. Thanks for the wonderful recommendations LisaAnn!

    Gabriela2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • LisaAnn was a wonderful host! The beautiful yurt and furnishings are excellent. The grounds and facility are tops. This is our best stay with Airbnb yet..... and we have stayed in many. We will return again soon.

  • Lisa Ann is a lovely host and her Yurt is a wonderful experience, very peaceful. The Breakfasts were Great too!

    David2018-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • LisaAnn is an amazing host. She was super responsive and had great suggestions of things to do. We loved the breaksfasts she made us. This space is so peaceful. I would definitely stay here again, but next time, I'll make sure to spend a couple extra days specifically to enjoy this property. The space is extremely clean, bed is the firmness that I prefer, the linens were perfect for both warm weather and the cool nights. I loved the outdoor kitchen and sitting at the fire pit drinking my coffee. We were awakened to coyotes howling in the distance and as soon as day broke, the buzzing of the hummingbirds. This was the chill experience I was seeking.

Our place is good for couples, two friends and solo adventurers. The yurt is part of our ranch in the East Mountains. Enjoy the wide open spaces, grill outside on the BBQ, sit outside and enjoy the evening sky - and you are only 30 minutes from big city stuff! And only 90 minutes to Santa Fe for wonderful museums, art galleries and skiing in the winter. The kitchen is fully equipped with range, oven, microwave and a full size fridge. Coffee machine and more! We lived in the yurt for two years so it's well equipped and stocked with all the basics for cooking, including spices and utensils. Super comfy queen bed, pellet stove to keep you warm in winter, skylight to star watch from bed!
Easy access from the I-40 but Secluded in the country. 25 minutes from Albuquerque
  • Carol’s yurt is beautifully put together outside of the city of Albuquerque. We had a wonderful stay there. It was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our time completely. We loved the secluded location and seeing the stars at night was a huge plus coming from the city. We highly recommend this stay for anyone traveling!

  • Lovely place for a weekend, welcoming hosts, great location for wandering about New Mexico!

    Katie2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Carol’s yurt for 3 nights and it was such a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, Carol met us at the yurt to give us a small tour and explain how best to reach her if we have any questions. At this time, we also got to meet her pups as well which was just cute. She has her horses on location that you’re allowed to walk up and pet when you feel like it. There’s also an honesty bar which offers wine and bar if you so choose. She also has some food, soda, water, and coffee for free in the yurt as well. The whole place was so surprisingly quiet and peaceful, I was expecting to be able to hear everything from outside noise to the other person inside using the restroom but everything was built so well, none of that was an issue. Carol did such a great job at ensuring we were taken care of from showing us how to work the AC, making sure we had heaters if it got cold, providing shower necessities, etc. I just really can’t recommend this place enough. We loved it so much!

    Danielle2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt has everything, including peace and quiet and wonderful views. It is the perfect place to relax and Carol is a great hostess.

    Peter2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in the yurt! It's super nice inside and was plenty of space for two people. Secluded in a beautiful setting but was perfect proximity for us to hike in the Sandias and visit Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Carol was very understanding and helpful when we had to arrive after "check in" time due to flight delays and was very communicative with questions we had. I would absolutely recommend her place! Wish we had more time there!

    Natalie2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • So beautiful! Very unique and secluded but includes every amenity of a modern home. The property is gorgeous with a walking path and horses to see. Would definitely stay again

    Kole2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Carol's Yurt. The yurt was clean, surprisingly spacious and had all the amenities one could ask for. It was easy to cook Thanksgiving dinner in the well-equipped kitchen, and we loved the fact that the pantry and fridge were stocked with assorted snacks. The bed was comfortable, and the pellet stove kept the yurt very warm. Carol was quick to reply to our questions, and always helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay again!

  • We loved our stay in Carol's yurt! We have stayed in several yurts before but this was by far the most luxurious one. We slept very peacefully listening to the rain and enjoyed a cup of coffee on the porch overlooking a view of the mountains. Carol was warm and welcoming. This is the perfect place to get a little peace and quiet, grill out, and enjoy the nature. Definitely would stay here again!
