“A great local spot to head to if Precita Park Cafe isn't your jam. Charlie is often there and is one of the friendliest guys you'll ever meet. Great for a quick bite before exploring the city - but also a nice place to for an afternoon with a cup of coffee and a book. They open at 6:30am (30 minutes before Precita Park Cafe) if you're an early bird, but they're closed on Sundays.”

“Local food co-op with an amazing selection of organic and other specialty foods. Lots of bins for buying in bulk and huge selection of fruits and vegetables, however, they don't sell meat. Bring your cloth bags and walk, bike or take mass transit as parking a car there is extremely difficult. ”
