We live in an 1895 Victorian top flat with 12 foot ceilings on the best block in San Francisco. Our calendar is always up to date. Location Location Location~ Our home is close to the Mission, Lower Haight, and 2.5 blocks from the Castro theater. The underground is 3 blocks away, with a street car even closer. The room is small and cosy, but a great price for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US! Please fill out your profile if you are interested~and make sure to arrange a time to meet prior to your arrival, I lead a busy lifestyle, work full time, and wouldn't want to miss anyone! Check in is at 5 and we are 37 steps up from street level. Please go light on perfume and cologne - we are allergic. Restaurants are plentiful and beautiful Dolores Park is quite close. Your room has a twin day bed 75 inches long with a desk and a solid door. The room is 9.25 feet by 8 feet. Amenities include wireless and a gorgeous full kitchen. We have one cat that enjoys company almost as much as we do and a sweet rescue pooch. Our flat gets more light than any other home I've been to in my 13 years of living in this great town. For all you foodies out there BiRite Creamery, Tartine, Delfina's Pizza and Proper are within 4.5 blocks of our front door. Michelin rated Range is just a few farther. As much as we love bikes, and we do, we don't have space for storage. If you rent one please return it at the end of the day or lock up on the street at your own risk. Please ask if you would like to have a friend for a short visit.
  • What a fantastic stay. Brenda's place certainly is 'Perfectly Located' with everything I needed within easy travelling distance. Brenda herself was very welcoming and made me feel more like a friend than a paying guest. She leads a busy lifestyle, but was always there when I had any questions, and recommended many fantastic restaurants and places to visit. As for the room, it is a perfect size for a solo traveler - the bed has a very comfortable mattress, which was perfect after a long flight, and the desk in the room is a good size, with enough space to work if you need it. The rest of the apartment is nicely decorated, with a light and airy feel throughout. I also had the opportunity to meet some of Brenda's friends and family and had some very interesting conversations with the group - thanks for that Brenda!

  • Brenda is an amazing host, incredibly generous and caring. She also gives very useful tips about the city. The apartment is very well located, between Castro and the Mission, tasteful decorated, and as beautiful as shown in the pics. The airbnb room is cozy and has a twin bed, but it is comfortable enough for one person. And her pets are just adorable. I had a wonderful stay in San Francisco!!.

    Nuria2013-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was my first expirience with Airbnb and I loved it a lot. The house is in a perfect location, really easy access from the SOF. The room has unique atmosphere and the whole house as well. Brenda is a very nice and helpful host. Her two lovely animals Boo and Moo Moo make the stay even cozier. I would recommend her place to everyone who would like to stay in the amazing San Francisco.

    Sirma2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Great accommodations and a great host! Could not have been nicer.

    Bill2011-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time traveling using airbnb. And my experience couldn't have been better. Brenda's place is just lovely, the room was very clean and so was the apartment. Brenda really knows her neighborhood (and the city of course) and has wonderful suggestions about places to go and see. The BART and Muni are close by so it's easy to get there for the airport, ideal to see the city using public transport and come back "home" after a busy day! If you're thinking about staying here, don't think another second. I'd definitely stay here again! Brenda, Gates, Boo and Mumu are great!

    Michiel2013-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not sure Brenda's place can be recommended more highly than the numerous positive reports below but let me try! The location is truly fantastic, the home is full of warmth and culture and the pets are super welcoming too. I don't think I've ever received so much affection from a cat before! On top of all that Brenda was easy to contact in advance and was flexible with my ambiguous arrival arrangements! Thank you Brenda!

    Joanne2013-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • I felt immediately 100% comfortable in the house, and Brenda is very open, kind and welcoming. It's a small room with a little bed, but I was at ease using the kitchen, lounge, etc, and Brenda is good company :)

    Ryan2013-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't have asked for anything more. Brenda is an amazing host. She has lovely pets and an awesome apartment. It' s close to F Train which is super convenient. It was really quiet during my stay and i could always rest up after a good day of sightseeing. Brenda was helpful with everything! Thank you so much, Brenda for your hospitality!!!

Bernal Heights is a very popular neighborhood. It's interesting, safe, convenient, beautiful, quiet. The best place to live in SF!
  • We had a nice stay at Mike and Nic Marrelli and Griffin's Studio. The facilities in the studio were good. Bernal Heights is also a nice, authentic, quiet, and safe neighbourhood. This was especially good for our family. Access to central SFO was not a problem using the two bus lines whose stops are just a few minutes away from the studio.

  • We absolutely loved our stay here! It was an awesome location close enough to the city center and everything we wanted to do. The apartment is really nice and mike & nic were awesome. We would totally stay here again!

  • This apartment is 100% perfect! It's so beautiful and it's in an amazing neighborhood that's within walking distance of so many cool streets/neighborhoods! It was also super easy to find parking nearby which was a big plus. The apartment itself is lovely, amazingly designed and so spacious! Mike and Nic were friendly, communicative and helpful. Definitely recommended! Will be staying here next time we return to SF! :)

  • We had such a wonderful stay here! The place was as cozy as it appears in the pictures. We were warmly greeted, our host was very attentive and helpful, everything was very clean and inviting, the bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen area was fine for preparing or enjoying meals. Right across from the apartment was a walk up Bernal Hill, to the City Park, from which we enjoyed dazzling views from either the easier or the more uphill climb paths. We found that Folsom St., which runs parallel to Prentiss St. offered a less steep climb to the apartment, much welcomed after all the other walking we enjoyed, including walking to the BART about ¾ mile away. Cortland St., down the block, had small stores and eateries and Mission Street was nearby where a Safeway store is located. In summary, we loved staying in the apartment and hope to return again!

    Bernardino2013-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Hello Mike and Nic! Thanks so much for yours very cozy Studio. Really beautiful area! and I really liked my daily walks from the Studio to the Downtown of San Francisco! Welcome to Moscow (Russia).

    Svetlana2013-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Mike is really nice. He allowed us to do early check in, introduced the apartment to us, and more convenient way to hand around that area. The apartment has a lot of books and tourism guides, which really enriched our travel a lot.

    Bin2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • what a great find! the studio is charming and well equipped. the location is great. there is a great area to run/walk just a couple of blocks away and the view of the city is great. there are fantastic restaurants within walking distance (try the Nepalese place!) public transportation stops are also very close, the bus station was walking distance and the caltrain station is about 2 miles away. mike and nic were great hosts. the communication was fantastic and they were available to answer any questions we might have had. we had a fantastic time and would absolutely stay again.

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • It was my first time in SFO and the 2nd time of my husband and his brother after 15 years, and Sara's place gave us the best experience of SFO! We loved her place the moment we saw it from outside and walked in our cozy apartment at the back. We felt right at home. Her place is very pretty, cozy and clean. I love the style of her place and we like the neighborhood. It's conveniently located right in the center of where we wanna go and I'm in love with the houses on the street. There are lots of places to eat that are just walking distance. The bus stop is right there as well. Sara was such a gracious host that she even allowed us to leave our bags in her own home since our flight was still at night and we checked out during lunch. Her dog Boo was so lovable too! We definitely enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again each time we visit SFO. Thanks again Sara!

  • Sara made my family and I feel very welcome in her home and in the neighborhood. She had great restaurant recommendations as well fun day activities. Her home was comfortable and overall very pleasant. The neighborhood was quiet, and perfectly located near many restaurants, shops and bars, as well as the Golden Gate Park. I would definitely come back and recommendation her apartment to anyone looking for a cozy place in a lovely section of the city.

    Amanda2015-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Location of this AirBnB is fantastic. Just easy walking to good food and drinks. Great location for getting around SF by bus or car and walking. The small and cosy, with a great gas flame fire to keep us warm in the night. Very homely decorated and Sara the host provided lots of amenities in the room such as Espresso coffee, juice, milk and some snacks. We had a great stay. Thanks

    Mike2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you are an old hippy, or even if your not, it was a great place to stay. "The Haight" is a little gritty but that was the authentic experience we were looking for. Had a rental car but left it parked and used Uber to get around the city. Anywhere in the city is a $10 Uber away. Nothing but good things to say about Sara's place and San Francisco.

    RICHARD2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in the house for 5 nights in July 2017 with my wife and daughter. Location is excellent its very quiet and private as accommodation is at the back of the property so there is no street noise. Its a neat, clean and comfortable place. Well equipped for what we wanted, which was to have drinks or simple breakfast in the house and to then eat out for lunch and dinner. It feels safe and secure so no concerns with keeping your belongings there whilst you are out. Location gives you quick access to local restaurants and shops all within a 5 min walk or via a 10 min walk to Cole street you can catch the Metro into central San Francisco .

    Martin2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Sara's garden apartment. The location was great, really safe and we loved the neighborhood area. The transportation options were fantastic and we went to every corner of San Francisco very easily from here. Sara and her daughter were lovely and made us feel at home in their garden apartment. Little touches of chocolate, beer, milk essentials were a lovely touch. I would def recommend this apartment and thanks again for a wonderful stay!

    Katy2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Sara's place just north of Haight. It was exactly as described with a larger bedroom than I'd expected with plenty of room for us and our 2 year old. Light and airy but also super cosy with a gorgeous fire. Parking was really easy and we found on-street spots right outside on both sides of the street (for street cleaning day). The neighbourhood was great - not sure I'd spend too long on Haight itself but really near Golden Gate Park and with some nice neighbourhood restaurants (we liked Zazie for breakfast and Sparrow for lunch). Easy hop into town on the 71 bus, and you can even switch route half way to the historic trolley buses. Very much appreciated Sara's help with questions in advance, and we both particularly enjoyed the nicely stocked fridge as we spent the first night enjoying a beer in front of the (very warm and cosy) fire. Lovely spot to stay that opened up a whole new neighbourhood to us.

    Shelly2014-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Sara's apartment for four nights to kick off our honeymoon and our first time in the states. Sara's place looks as beautiful in real life as it does in the pictures. Her home is central, close to shops and public transport yet private and reclusive at the same time. Sara was an amazing host who was very responsive and helpful answering any questions we had. We spent most of our time exploiting the city but we loved coming home every night and getting cosy in front of the fireplace. We we're lucky enough to meet her dog boo who is very quiet and gentle. We loved staying here. Highly recommend!! Thanks Sara :)

Private entry, sidewalk-level suite of living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath with artful touches in 1911 Edwardian. Close to beaches, GGate Park, GGate Bridge, groceries, cafes, restaurants on city-wide trolly line for memorable vacation/business/retreat. Easy drive to Marin.
The private sidewalk level suite, is clean and comfortable with original windows and doors providing natural light and fresh air. It's San Francisco living so you can be sure to hear the sounds of a trolley passing by and footsteps from people in the flat above. SF STR permit number (4 zeroes) 949
We live in a friendly neighborhood with cafes and restaurants, and are perfectly situated to walk or take local transportation to nearby visit museums. Step out the yellow door and there are walks through wooded trails to Baker Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge, Land's End, and Ocean Beach -- to the Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park, the DeYoung Museum and/or the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, with its lakes and beautiful gardens of the Arboretum. If you prefer to sidewalk explore, it's fun to walk down Clement Street from 25th Avenue to Arguello, stopping in at the pubs and Chinese restaurants (little Chinatown) -- head a bit further to Fillmore Street, or take the full journey on the California 1 trolley (electric bus) - 7 miles to the Ferry Building (about a 2 hour walk) through the distinctly different neighborhoods that make San Francisco such a great place to visit and live. If you are looking for a movie and dinner -- Pizetta 211 and the Four Star Theater are just around the corner. There's something for everyone.
  • We had a great time. The apartment is beautifully finished with many unique touches. The neighbourhood is lovely as well.

  • The location is great and walking distance to restaurants. The are is good for walking and not hilly unlike the touristy part of SFO. There is a great hike to Golden Gate Park, and the scenery was beautiful and quiet.

  • Very cute and cozy place in a charming neighborhood. Baker beach and GG bridge are walking distance, great to take a little stroll and catch the sunset over the Pacific. Dennis and his wife were great hosts, quick to respond and gave helpful suggestions for the area. There's a delicious pizzeria about 30 seconds away, bonus!

  • The host was very gracious and accommodating! Check in was listed at 3 pm, but the host was nice enough to let me grab my keys, leave my luggage at his house, and charge an external battery for my phone at 11 am. The room was better than what you would find in a hotel and had a comfy bed, amazing bathroom, and free wi-fi. The host was very kind and even gave me insight on what to check out in his neighborhood and even where to get dry cleaning. I can't say enough nice things about this listing.

    James2015-08-14T00:00:00Z

    Sean2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a awesome location. Jeffrey recommendations in the neighborhood are great. Could not have asked for anything better

    Mike2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The room was nice and clean! But to reach it one has to go up one has to climb a number of stairs and if you like your morning cup of tea and coffee, one has to go out to buy it as there aren't any appliances and there aren't any chairs or a table to sit and have breakfast. Being a frequent traveller one comes to expect these every day conveniences.

    Ramola2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Jeff's place. He made us feel welcome even before we arrived by allowing us to check in early due to our early flight. Upon arrival Jeff was super informative with lots of local restaurant and sight-seeing destination recommendations. The room itself is spacious and just as described. Lots of light from the bathroom skylight and very private. Staying here felt like staying at a tiny hotel because of the quality of the room and the freedom we had. In addition to the great room, the neighborhood is happening. With CO2 Ice cream just down the block and many amazing shops and food within walking distance. If you are on the fence about staying here, do it! I would recommend staying here to anyone.

  • Blair was a terrific, responsive host. Her condo was immaculate, stylish, bright and quiet. Every inch of the place exuded warmth and comfort. Blair provided the ultimate experience and should be the poster child for (URL HIDDEN) I just hope that her place is available the next time I'm in San Francisco!

  • Blair's condo is gorgeous and in such a great location!!! As soon as we walked into the condo, we were blown away by the chic decor and style. Blair was also super sweet and always easy to communicate with. The location is in Pacific Heights, which is mostly residential, very quiet, and safe! We loved coming back to a nice, comfortable place after a long day exploring the city and would definitely love to stay here again on our next SF trip!

  • This was my first Airbnb rental and it was a fantastic experience. Blair was very easy to communicate with and answered all of my questions promptly and accurately. The property was exactly as described - very stylish, clean and in a great neighborhood. The pictures you see online are what you get. I strongly recommend Blair and this property if you are staying in San Francisco.

Beautifully appointed as described and visually presented and the proximity to Fillmore Street couldn't be beat. For any up coming trips to San Francisco I would hope that her wonderful home will be available.

  • Rob is a very kind person who is extremely helpful and welcoming. His home is very beautiful and a great place to come back to after a long day in the city. There are lots of amenities in the house and the space is very comfortable. This space would be my first choice to stay at whenever I come back to San Fransisco.

    Barry2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rob’s place was a perfect spot for my trip. He was very nice and accommodating. Thank you!

    Christina2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Rob's house is absolutely beautiful and a great place to stay. He was communicative, flexible, and organized, and had a good system in place for handling multiple guests at a time with no hiccups. The neighborhood is relatively quiet but only a few minutes from the hip part of Mission and only a a 10 minute walk from BART. Overall, great value and would definitely recommend.

    Ella2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rob is a very welcoming host, and his home is a very beautiful, quiet and comfortable apartment in the Mission. It is within very easy distance of surrounding areas such as Noe Valley and the Castro, which are both a short walk away. Downtown is also minutes away by BART and bus and from here you can walk to North Beach, Chinatown and the Embarcadero. Rob's apartment is close to the bus and BART hub on Mission and 24th St., so it's easy to reach the city's major sights by either mode of transport. This meant that we could also easily use public transport to go to places like Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury, the Golden Gate Bridge and Crissy Field. Rob's apartment is located close to some brilliant restaurants and coffee houses, fine bars and bookshops, as well as convenience stores and pharmacies and. Because of the location, we had a great time, walking from district to district, taking in everything that these areas had to offer. If we felt a little tired at the end of the day after all the walking, we could get the bus and BART connections home (these are very frequent and very easy to use). I have been to San Francisco many times and Rob's apartment is by far the most comfortable and beautiful accommodation that I have stayed in - its fusion of Asian and Victorian style is an experience and a work of art in itself, and the view from the living room (where we had our morning coffee) along 29th Street toward Sutro Tower is spectacular. Rob is a great host, who kindly helped us with all of our questions before and during our trip, and we would most definitely stay here again.

  • There is no wonder why this apartment is booked months in advance. My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of boarding here while in town for a music festival, and we loved starting and ending our days here. We would not hesitate to come back to San Francisco and stay here again. The moment you enter this second-floor location, you're overcome with a sense of quietude. It may be due to charm of the wood floors, white walls and spacious rooms, or the antiques and small plants that balance out the apartment with an beautiful Asian aesthetic. The windows allow in soft, northwestern light throughout the day, light that is further diffused by the gentle fog that rolls across city. The street this Victorian-era home resides on is not at all noisy, and there are many wonderful spots to eat and drink. (My girlfriend and I highly recommend Cafe St. Jorge, just a short walk up the street, for a delicious Portuguese-inspired breakfast and an espresso.) During your stay, you may encounter other guests here. In our brief time here, my girlfriend and I met four different couples (two leaving, two arriving), and all of them were very pleasant, as well as equally affected by the tranquility of the apartment. In short: you should have no trouble with others that have travelled across the world to visit the City by the Bay. When we return, my girlfriend and I hope to further explore all the sights and sounds San Francisco has to offer, and will certainly look to stay in this gem of an apartment that checks all the right boxes for us.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Rob's place a lot. I would probably stay with him again if I were in the area.

    Kyle2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Rob's house is great, clean, and Rob is a very kind man who gives many useful info about the city and my journey.

    sicong2016-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rob is a great host. He is very helpful and accommodating. His house is beautiful and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. We mostly used the coffee maker and the microwave. The bathroom is always clean. We didn't experience any issues with the bathroom situation since we barely saw the other guests. Also, Rob has a good system in place. The house is close to many things like the grocery store and drugstore. There are Muni (public transportation) stops everywhere. There is a nice coffeeshop nearby called Cafe Seventy8 and a famous ice cream shop called Mitchell's Ice Cream. 10/10 recommend staying here

Welcome to San Francisco's Mission District, the sunniest neighborhood in town! Enjoy Valencia Street's world-class dining, shopping, and nightlife, or a picnic in Dolores Park on a sunny afternoon... It's all just steps from our 100 year old home!
Your sunny room has a queen size bed, and looks out over lush gardens. It includes all the comforts of home... Sofa, dresser, closet space, rocking chair. Your private (though not "en-suite") bathroom has a "like rain" shower head, over a clawfoot tub. We have a twin mattress available for $60/night, to use for a 3rd Guest or for separate sleeping. (It can go on the floor in the same room, or in our dining room if you'd like a little more space.)
Located between Valencia Street and Dolores Park, our home is in an ideal location for exploring the Mission, as well as the rest of San Francisco. It's an easy walk to the Castro, Haight Street, Hayes Valley, and Noe Valley. And we're close to BART and Muni, so it's easy to visit the Ferry Building, Union Square, Downtown... Everywhere! Then again, you might not want to leave the neighborhood at all... Here's a very incomplete list of spots within 4 blocks of our home: Foodie Heaven: Tartine, Delfina, Bi Rite Market, Mission Chinese Food, Locanda, Foreign Cinema, BiRite Creamery, the list goes on - and seems to grow daily! Shopping: 826 Valencia (Dave Eggers' Pirate Supply Store!), Paxton Gate, Curiosities for Kids, Beta Brand, Mission Bicycle, Self Edge, Weston Wear, Shoe Biz... Dolores Park, the Chapel (for live music), Clarion Alley (home to the CAMP Mural project), the Women's Building (maybe the most famous of the famous Mission Murals), Mission Pool (seasonal outdoor swimming, walk there in your towel, it's 3 doors down!)...
  • Lovely house, great hosts, and a fabulous location! We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks, Ivan and Wendy!

    Stacey 2010-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ivan and Wendy were gracious, helpful hosts. Their home is beautiful, spotless and truly in the heart of it all. I'd definitely stay here again.

    Chris2013-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ivan and Wendy's place was absolutely beautiful, even better than in the photos! Clean and nicely decorated. Although our trip was short one (we were there for less than 24 hrs) it was well worth it. The house is centrally located in the Mission district, close to shops, restaurants, bars and Dolores Park. Really, if you know and like the Mission, it doesn't get much better than this. Will definitely be back for a longer stay in the future! ....and hopefully we can meet Wendy and Milo then as well!

    Alex2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay and great location! Ivan was so friendly and flexible about my arrival/departure plans. The room was lovely and sunny and I had the best night's sleep I've had in months. Wonderful, updated home and even a lovely clawfoot bathtub!

    Katharine2015-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was a fantastic experience all around. The house was lovely, the area was great, and the hosts were very friendly. I felt totally at home. :)

    Anna2015-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent time at this lovely place, it felt like I was there on my own as I barely saw the hosts but this suited me as I was happy to get going and discover SF on my own. However I knew Ivan was there if I needed anything or had any questions to ask. It's a beautiful and comfortable place and a great base if you want to discover the City as everything is very easy to get to. Everything was clean and very comfortable, no complaints at all. Will definitely recommend in the future and stay again!

    Sin-ni2012-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Ivan and Wendy were great hosts, their house is really nice and clean and they were super accommodating when my friend and I were sick. They provided multiple options for setting up the futon, which was handy. Overall, friendly people and nice house, would stay again.

    Rob2013-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were very welcoming. The room was comfortable and we liked having a private bath. Although located in the heart of the Mission District, the street itself was quiet. The location is very convenient for restaurants, a wonderful grocery store, and public transportation.

Excellent location for getting around town while staying in a wine country atmosphere, or hang out close by and enjoy some of the finest restaurants and cafes in San Francisco. No kidding!
  • The cabana was cozy and bright with just a touch of funky style. I especially liked the eclectic reading selection--I actually got wrapped up in "Infinite City: A San Francisco Atlas" for an hour or so until I realized we were on vacation and should probably, you know, explore the actual city. We were very satisfied! Kepa was awesome, super prompt and communicative, and she had lots of great recommendations for places to visit and ways to get around.

    Benjamin2015-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kepa's Garden Cabana was perfect for our short visit to SF (I only wish we had more time to stay)! The location was excellent: easy street parking and quick access to many restaurant options (including weekday breakfast) on 18th street. The room was very comfortable and felt very private. Kepa was extremely friendly and accommodating as well! I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Kepa!

    Sara2012-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely oasis in the city. The garden was beautiful, the cabana was perfect and exactly as advertised, and we appreciated the thoughtful amenities -- coffee and tea, a couple of beers in the fridge when we arrived, bowls, spoons, and forks for snacks, and information about local restaurants (Goat Hill Pizza was excellent). Kepa was very friendly, informative, and a great host. We would definitely stay here again and we have already recommended it to friends.

    John2013-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful relaxing stay with Kepa, she is a great host that is attentive yet respects your privacy. Kepa was extra help to us as we were arriving in San Fancisco the day of the earthquake in Napa, where we happened to be going for the first few days of our vacation. She provided news on the situation in Napa and was more than willing to help with accommodations, if Napa was not accessible. Tremendous help for us as we were on route and had no idea what the situation was like. When at Kepa's we stayed in the Cabana, we found it nice and cozy and all the necessities were provided. There is a private patio to relax on and an extraordinary garden to admire. This was my first experience with airbnb and what wonderful experience it was. I hope to visit SanFrancisco again in the near future and stay with Kepa.

    Donna2014-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kepa was just as warm and accommodating to myself as she was for my boss. She left a personalized note on the door welcoming me to the Cabana and really outdid herself with the decor and hospitality feel. I wish we could have had a bit more time to get to know each other as I'm sure she has a wealth of knowledge to share about the city but as I plan to stay with her as many times as possible and I know we will have plenty of time to turn me into as much of a SF native as possible.

    Mijin2014-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Superb experience. Easy check in and out, lush surroundings and every detail taken care of!

    Hannah2015-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • My self and a colleague stayed at 2 of Kepa's great properties. It was a wonderful local San Francisco experience, we were in SF for work but this would be a wonderful vacation destination also. Both the Cabana & Studio were cosy, stylish and private....the perfect ingredient, thanks Kepa. xox

    KARL2012-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • What an exceptional place! Enjoy the style and tranquility of the Cabana - nestled in a beautiful private garden in the hip Potrero Hill area. Equipped with everything you need during your stay - including well chosen amenities and tips for the neighborhood and San Francisco. Kepa is a wonderful host: well organized, super welcoming and full of ideas which she happily shared with me. I stayed for six nights and couldn't have asked for a better first airbnb experience. Thank you, Kepa. I will for sure come again.

In peaceful GGPark area, my king-sized Master Suite is a 3rd Floor kitchenless studio with independent entrance, 2 blocks from the heart of savvy Inner Sunset. Offers a deck over green spaces, luxurious walk-in shower & soaking tub, 4 blocks from UCSF.
SAN FRANCISCO SHORT-TERM RESIDENTIAL RENTAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: STR #000713 Possession of a San Francisco Short-Term Rental Registration Certificate certifies that the registration certificate holder has agreed to comply with the terms of the San Francisco Short-Term Residential Rental Ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 41A). This ordinance does not require an inspection of the unit by the City for potential Building, Housing, Fire or other Code violations. Note: My home was thoroughly remodeled and in 2014 passed all the SF City inspections required for residential occupants :-) My master is a convenient, kitchenless suite on the 3rd floor of my house! You can come and go as you please. It also offers its own separate, luxury bathroom. (Please note 3rd floor - not terrible, but definitely 2 (two) flight of stairs walk up) STREET PARKING in the neighborhood is usually good (see below), there is no parking space with the unit. INDEPENDENT DECK overlooking yards/green spaces. WASHER/DRYER available for your use on same floor. UCSF only 4 blocks away.
Eclecticism with a family atmosphere made even better by the huge green space of Golden Gate Park 3 blocks over. It is also a 4 block walk to the University of California, San Francisco - UCSF is CA's premier teaching hospital. Within the distance of a short 5 minute walk, you have the heart of the Inner Sunset - a zillion restaurants, cafes and bakeries to browse at, the Botanical Garden, DeYoung Museum and the California Academy of Sciences to amuse and educate your brain, and an entire park leading down to the ocean for picnics and meandering. And on top of all that, it is a 25 min MUNI ride by train down to Union Square, Embarcadero and the heart of the urban city.
  • We enjoyed staying at the Upscale Golden Gate PK Master Suit. It's a beautiful facility. Well kept and very well stocked. We would be pleased to stay there on our next visit to SF!

    David2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was only my second visit to SF and was definitely a memorable one because of the AMAZING accommodations that Kelly provided. I don't even know where to begin. The master suite was absolutely perfect. I loved the modern feel, it was exactly mine and my girlfriend's taste! It was the perfect size that we even said that we would move to SF just to live in that suite! Although the weather didn't permit it, we still loved the cute little deck outside our door! The bathroom, shower, and tub were AMAZING. We felt right at home. Truly felt like a home away from home. We loved feeling like we were locals there. Kelly made the best recommendations for food and for touristy things to do as well. And since we were celebrating my girlfriends bday, Kelly was so kind as to respond to my request of an extra bday surprise when we arrived at the suite! Thanks so SO much for making our trip that much more special! :) we will definitely be coming back to stay at this adorable/cozy suite!

    Alexis2015-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly is the perfect host, very helpful. Since this was my first airbnb experience her guidance was both welcomed and appreciated. The apartment is just as described, beautiful. Kelly's good design sense is evident in all of the thoughtful details throughout. This is important to us as travelers. We loved coming back to such a comfortable spot at the end of a long day. The Inner Sunset neighborhood is a big bonus with all of its great eating places. Here again, Kelly has thought of that in her coffee table guide book to her favorite area eateries and places to explore. Golden Gate Park is just a short walk away and the mass transit system makes it easy to go anywhere in the city. Our experience couldn't have been better and we plan to return when we come to visit my son in San Francisco next time.

    Viktoria2015-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I have done many Airbnb stays and Kelly's place is on top of the list. The place is immaculate. I was very impressed by the fine details, for example, there's a remote control for the curtains! I went out on the deck for stargazing and was in awe. The apartment is a few blocks from Golden Gate Park, lots of restaurants and coffee shops around to chose from. A $30 uber ride to and from SFO. Kelly is the kindest hostess, super friendly, easy to reach via phone or in person. I really like this place and am looking forward to have my friends and family stay here when they come to town.

    Julia2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying at Kelly's place for the weekend. The place was as described, and felt like a 5-star hotel, but with a great backyard view. The neighborhood is very nice, a quick uber ride to anywhere in the city. Kelly is very responsive, and didn't get a chance to meet her during the stay, but she was quick to help with a quick question we had. Would highly recommend.

    Tom2015-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We never actually met Kelly, but she responded to our messages within a couple hours. The suite was impeccably clean and there were even chocolates left on our pillows! The suite itself is amazing and true to pictures. The bathroom is probably the nicest one I've ever been in and the walk in closet was very spacious! We stayed Monday through Friday and they even came to change the sheets, take out our trash, and leave fresh towels halfway through our stay. There isn't a real kitchen, but the microwave, mini-fridge, keurig, hot water boiler, plates/forks, wine bottle opener were more than enough to keep us comfortable. Also, having access to a washer/dryer right next to the suite was a definite plus! There was a heat wave while we were there, but the suite remained cool enough with opening the balcony doors (there are screens) and using the box fan that is there. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay! Also, Kelly's restaurant recommendations in the binder are spot on!!

    Alice2015-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This Master Suite was as luxurious as an upscale hotel room and had all the comforts of home: wifi, big-screen TV, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, Keurig, electric kettle, washer/dryer and a bathroom sink big enough to wash a few dishes. We spent a comfortable week here visiting grandchildren. The property is also very close to UCSF and only a short walk from the wonderful restaurants and shops of the Inner Sunset district of SF. However it is up two flights of stairs, which was no problem for us, but could be for others.

    Diana2015-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly has a lovely suite, it's exactly how the pics look. Everything seems like new, I enjoyed reading my book on the deck and soaking up the California sun. Having a washer/ dryer was a nice amenity. My husband and I went to SF for our 10 yr wedding anniversary; Kelly was accomodating to our check in needs, provided plenty of suggestions and responded promptly to our texts during the visit. We rented a car bc we had a short period of time to visit the city & we didn't want to rely on public transport. Parking wasn't too bad, but be sure to rent a small car! We did take the train to AT&T ball park, train ride was affordable, easy and accessible to the area. Great restaurants and shops in the inner sunset too. Overall, an amazing trip.

Stay in this luxuriously large master bedroom and experience a funky, artist loft / maker space! Shared penthouse loft is conveniently located in modern building in SoMa near several public transit options, the Moscone center, the Giants stadium, and more! This private room is outfitted with a memory-foam queen bed, full-length couch (extra guest?), a private full bathroom, and even wireless custom LED lighting! Loft has a full, high-tech kitchen. Coffee, tea & light breakfast options available.
Our home is a large loft filled with LED art and a maker workspace. This rental is for a private room in our loft/apartment. We are one female and one male. I am a tech-artist, maker, and educator, as is one of the other roommates. The other roommate is also a tech artist, maker, and educator. We are very respectful. Loft is filled with super tall ceilings with full length windows facing day-time sun. Beautiful building. Kitchen is decked out with gas stove, automated espresso machine, ice maker, blender, kitchen island, etc. We are all frequently working on projects at home. FYI, we have two other rooms available on AirBnB at our place here: 1) small room: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/5184693 2) large room: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7698019
Loft is located in SoMa SF. This is a very convenient, centrally located area. For example, the Moscone Center is less than a mile away. The Powell BART station is a ~15 minute walk (you can get to my place from SFO by taking the BART to Powell St, then walk down 5th or 4th st). In only ~5 minutes walking, you can reach the Caltrain station (4th and King) & Embarcadero trolly stop, grocery & drug stores (Whole Foods, Safeway, Wall-greens), and cafes and restaurants. If you walk a little farther, you'll reach Mission Bay (a beautiful public park on the water), the Giants stadium, and the Embarcadero. Cheap Lyft Line and Uber Pool options are available from my place, usually around $5 to most of SF.

Sunny, contemporary, newly renovated one bedroom guest suite in the heart of Cole Valley, one of San Francisco's most walkable and friendly neighborhoods. Suite covers two floors, and includes a large sitting room with breakfast table, TV viewing area and a spacious writing desk on the main floor, and one bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Suite faces south, with great views of Sutro Tower. Suite is very private and secure, tucked away behind a charming, locked courtyard, with a shared backyard.
Our guest suite is a delightful alternative to an upscale hotel suite and comfortably accommodates up to two guests in a quiet and private setting in Cole Valley. Newly renovated in 2016, the unit features furnishings from Restoration Hardware, CB2, West Elm, Anthropologie and linens by Serena and Lily. While the unit does not have a kitchen, it does have a Marshall Amp mini fridge for drinks and snacks, as well as a Nespresso machine and an assortment of teas. In addition, there are numerous food and drink options within one block of the house, including La Boulangerie, Luke's Local, Padrecito, Burgermeister, Zazie, Inovino Wine Bar and Grandeho's Kamekyo Sushi, as well as a great pub, Finnegan's Wake.
Cole Valley is a San Francisco gem, a small friendly community with an amazing neighborhood high street. Excellent food and drink options are plentiful, including the Boulangerie, Luke's Local, Padrecito, Burgermeister, Zazie, Inovino Wine Bar and Grandeho's Kamekyo Sushi, as well as one of the best pubs in the city, Finnegan's Wake. We are a short walk to the Haight, Divisadero and Golden Gate Park, and UCSF Parnassus Campus is about 5 blocks away (we are also only about 12-15 minutes to downtown on the N-Judah light rail train line).
  • This little guesthouse is the cutest place in Cole Valley. Just like all the other reviews said, the decor is perfect and the location is super convenient. I definitely recommend it to anyone.

  • Great stay! Very warm welcome and cool place.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Catherine's place! The space is brand new, spacious modern, immaculately clean, and beautifully designed. Catherine and her husband were incredibly helpful and kind - highly recommend this airbnb! We also really loved the Cole Valley area - their place is a short walk from some some nice restaurants, a wine bar, a cute retro ice cream shop, and a small grocery store. The location is an easy Uber ride to anywhere else you'd want to go in San Francisco We'll definitely be back!

    Jeanine2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine and her family have a great spot in Cole Valley. The apartment is impeccably decorated and was a lovely spot to return to after long days walking around SF. We especially appreciated the close walk to a bunch of tasty brunch and breakfast spots.

    Alexander2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • I could go on and on and on and on about how wonderful of an experience we had at Catherine's lovely rental! First, the location was amazing. I was unfamiliar with the area, but Cole Valley was charming. We walked right out the door and to the corner cafe La Boulangerie on our first morning, and we loved the French charm of the spot. On our last morning, we walked down to Zazie for brunch in their garden patio – a can't miss! The food was amazing, and since the location was so close, we were able to get there right when they opened and beat the crowd. We really enjoyed exploring the neighborhood! The home itself was perfectly decorated – minimal, clean, and chic. We loved the little details like the clothing rack, the huge desk with fabulous natural light, and the bottle of wine left out for our arrival. I had the chance to chat with Catherine on our final day, and I only wish we had spoken sooner in the trip! She was a joy to talk to and I loved hearing more about her background and what brought her to SF. I highly recommend the spot and cannot wait to visit again myself!

  • I had a great time at Catherine's place, highly recommend it.

    Utsarga2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as described. Everything is high end, including the bedding and sheets, bed is really comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet but lovely, has great restaurants and shops only a minute walk away. I was in town for work so didn’t get the chance to explore too much. Catherine is an amazing host, the communication was perfect and she even left a bottle of wine which I was able to enjoy with a friend after work :) I can highly recommend this place and would definitely come back.

    Merja2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We typically visit San Francisco at least once a year and Catherine's place was at the top of places we've stayed. Cole Valley and the location was perfect. The place was great and well put together and offered everything we could need.

They hold group activities, are very helpful with suggestions, and have a lights off policy at midnight, to ensure sleep for everybody. I wish I could have stayed longer, but do plan on coming back on my next trip to San Francisco. Thank you for your hospitality!

My charming, quiet and comfortable fully furnished one bedroom apartment is on top floor of a Victorian house a block away from Market St. and all the Muni lines, and 3 blocks away from Dolores Park in the Mission/Dolores/Castro area. Best location! Brand new super comfy Casper Queen bed in the bedroom. Full gourmet kitchen and bathroom. Nice heater system. There are big windows everywhere so there's a lot of light, but apartment is facing the backyard so it's quiet. There is another queen bed in the living room so 2 people could be comfortable in different rooms.
The location couldn't be better. A block away from Whole Foods and 24h. Safeway, all mayor Muni lines and trendy restaurants, bars and stores. Market Street is around the corner, but you can enjoy the beautiful Dolores/Mission area with palm trees and Dolores Park. Walking distance to many other neighborhoods in the city. This area is very safe and improved now. Prime location.

  • I really enjoyed staying at Rebecca and Seth's place. It's so close to the 43 bus (about a two minute walk) which pretty much took my mate and I everywhere we wanted to go. I wish I had more time to hang out with these guys too - heaps of fun and Lola (their dog) was a bonus.

  • Rebecca has an eye for design and a fanaticism for cleanliness. Every plant, and there are a select few, looks like a work of art. The back balcony is truly a space of repose. Entry to room is kind of funky.

Large nice private bedroom with sunroom opening onto large deck with panoramic views of San Francisco Bay.
Nice sunny and spacious bedroom with views of skyline, Bay Bridge, San Francisco Bay, and East Bay Hills.
The Portola District is a diverse and quiet neighborhood famous for its gardens bordering 315-acres John McLaren Park and noted for its expansive Bay views. Bernal Heights, Glen Park, and the Mission are all within walking distance.
  • Such a large room with amazing views however far from central areas! Enjoyed our time here however it was sooooo cold we ended up not peeing during the night due to fear of hypothermia... ok that may be exaggerating but honestly it was cold and could do with some heating, bear in mind this was July!

My sunny, 3-story Victorian house is in tranquil Noe Valley, 1 mile from the heart of Mission District, with easy access by streetcar to downtown. Your light-filled bedroom has a queen-sized bed and access to a bathroom with shower and tub (shared with other guests). Free street parking available with some restrictions. In residence: a friendly woman and a part-time teen. SF Short-Term Rental Reg #STR1278
The available bedroom has wood floors, high ceilings, and lots of natural light. It has one queen-sized bed and comes with towels and bedding.
My neighborhood is called Noe Valley and it is known for its sunshine and peaceful atmosphere. It is a short walk from my house to the Mission District, which has some of the best restaurants in the city and much more nightlife.

  • Lovely place in noe valley. Maria was very nice and check in/out was a breeze. Very clean and comfortable!

    Moriah2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Although Maria's listing didn't have any reviews due to her being a new member to the Airbnb community, after seeing the listing, my friend and I fell in love with her home and decided to book. Once arriving, we knew we made the right decision. The home was bright, beautiful, lively, full of color, cozy - exactly as in the photos - and, most importantly, clean. Our bed linens/pillows were clean, the bed (although a bit squeaky) was very comfortable and big towels were provided and replaced with fresh ones after a few days. Before, as well as, the day of our arrival, Maria was very responsive and provided a way for us to reach her should we need to and, during our stay, she remained available and/or present without being intrusive. Additionally, the neighborhood is peaceful and safe. There was one particular night we made it home much later than usual; however, while walking home from the MUNI stop, neither me or my friend felt threatened in the least and actually found ourselves commenting on how quiet it was. Speaking of MUNI, the property is conveniently situated close to multiple MUNI transportation stops going in every direction and any stop we needed during our stay could be accessed via a 2-5 minute walk. As aforementioned, Maria was very responsive and is quite personable. Her daughter is also friendly and their dog is very easy going and laid back - not aggressive at all. Overall, our stay was super pleasant and I'd not only recommend it to others, but would totally consider staying here again on my next visit to San Francisco!

    Nicole2015-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful in a quiet neighborhood. We were in a spacious private room with a shared bathroom. Maria was open to us using the kitchen if needed. The living space was amazing! You’ll love my place because of the location, close to Golden gate park and the Presidio, the views. My place is close to Green Apple Books, Burma Superstar, and Clement st with many fun shops and restaurants. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and small families (with kids).
Our apartment is safe, clean, and in a central location to all the San Francisco neighborhoods.
The Golden gate park is less than a 5-min bike ride. The Presidio national park is close as well. Other highlights include the Conservatory of Flowers, Stow Lake, San Francisco Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden. Museums, Museums Two of the City’s most impressive museums are found in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. The newish 400,000 sf California Academy of Sciences which includes an aquarium, planetarium, and rain forest. The de Young Museum, San Francisco’s main art museum. The Band Shell at the Music Concourse, between the two museums above, is where the Golden Gate Park Band gives free concerts on Summer Sundays.
  • Emily's Apartment is a gem. Especially considering the fantastic neighborhood she lives in. If more tourists coming to San Francisco would consider checking out all the different districts that San Francisco has to offer , Pier 39 and all the other traps would fade in comparison. Do yourself a favor and explore the Inner Richmond District... check out Clement St. Golden Gate park 2 blocks away and a little secret seafood restaurant, Pacific (URL HIDDEN) uber ride but totally worth (URL HIDDEN) prepared for a waiting list....but you can hangout on the curb and they serve free wine while you wait. Too much to list. Getting out walking is the secret way to find all the gems that await you. The apartment is super clean and has all the amenities you could need. Thank you again Emily ....I will definitely be back!!!

  • Emily's place is amazing - in a quiet, safe residential area (Laurel Heights), close to some great shops and restaurants and a short walk or bike ride to Golden Gate Park. The apartment is beautiful and beyond clean. Emily was so easy to communicate with - would highly recommend and would love to stay again!

    Jennifer2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Emily's place was great! It is a short drive from most of the places we wanted to visit, like Lombard Street, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf & The Golden Gate Bridge. The apartment is in a great neighborhood, it was quite and cozy. We felt safe and comfortable. Having access to a kitchen was a big plus for us, it allowed us to make a grocery purchase & be able to cook meals. For me, the only drawback was no coffee machine, but I was able to find a coffee shop nearby, problem solved! The apartment was also very clean. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Emily's place.

    Claudia2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emily's place is well decorated and well located - very safe pretty location -- steps away from golden gate park. We loved meandering with my 14 month old and husband. Her kitchen has all basics you need to cook. It got a bit hot - record heat wave! so if you come with baby in summer bring or order a small fan - it can go a long way. Emily was one of the most responsive and flexible hosts ever! We had to extend our check out due to baby oversleeping and - and she was so flexible - we really appreciated it. I would definitely stay here again if I visit San Fran. The key does stick a bit - but while I had issues my husband managed to open it right away so I guess it just takes some jiggering :)

    Eugenia2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Emily's place is very clean with parking, functional wi-fi, in a very safe and conveniently located neighborhood (easy 10-15 minute walk to Golden Gate national park). She also had great restaurant recommendations and was easy to reach. Check-in/Check-out was a breeze. What more do you need? Would definitely recommend/stay here again!

    Chris2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous apartment and great pick for a trip to San Francisco. It's convenient especially if you plan to go to Golden Gate park and all the museums in it, and is an easy drive to/from the airport. Immaculately appointed--there was zero clutter. I left Emily's place determined to go home to Chicago and clean my own until it looked more like hers! Great kitchen, hot shower, comfortable bed, gorgeous wood floors...I mean, this is a killer apartment. And Emily was super responsive. Parking was on site and it's a safe area. I could not have had a better set-up. And Emily didn't mind the fact that we had a toddler with us! It was great for him because the total lack of clutter made it safe. Thank you for the amazing stay, Emily.

  • Although we haven't met in person, Tony organised everthing for check-in very well in advance and replied quickly to all my questions. I had a comfortable stay at his place!

    Miriam2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean. Although I had some trouble opening the front door and accidentally locked myself out once, Tony was super responsive and helped me solve the problem right away. The location is approximately 30 mins to downtown SF by car. Pretty safe neighborhood, close to China town, China beach and a public park. So good for travelers who want to be close to nature.

  • Pros: -super comfy bed -clean apartment -has basic house amenities suvh as laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, closet w/hangars, tv Cons: -pretty far from downtown and lively areas

  • It was great! Thanks, Tony!

    Eugene2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The check in and check out process is extremely easy. Really cozy and comfortable room - if you're looking for a simple room to sleep, it's great. I also thought the bed was really comfortable!

    Brendan2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here. We were walking distance to restaurants bars and a market. It was a safe and quiet neighborhood to walk in too which is exactly what I was looking for during my stay in San Fran. Everything was clean: the room and bathroom. Clean towels were provided which helped with my packing. And it was fast and easy to Uber anywhere in San Fran.

    Mariah2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tony was super nice. My friend and I had no chance to see him but he explained the detail and helped me out very quick whenever I asked for something. But I did not expect that it was a shared apartment with other people so it was a bit uncomfortable for us to go to the bathroom.

Cozy private room half Block to Golden Gate Park. Near lots of restaurants and shops. Ample free parking.
The bedroom and Livingroom common areas are available to all guests
Next to golden gate park and lots of restaurants on Irving street. Best Thai food in SF on 24th/Irving. Starbucks on 19th/Irving and lots of other spots between 25th and 19th. Great breakfast spots further down on 9th and Irving :)
  • Roerto's place was in a great location- feet away from Golden Gate Park. It was a 6-15$ uber rides basically anywhere. There were nice little restaurants a couple blocks away. It was a quiet neighbourhood. Roerto was extremely accommodating- he allowed us to check in a few hours early because of our flight time. He responded to our texts quickly and he checked in when our flight arrived. We had complete privacy- we actually didn't see the host or the other people staying in the Airbnb. There is a shared bathroom, so you have to be okay with that if you stay there. The only downside was the accommodation wasn't clean. Looked as though window sills, base boards, trim, and walks had not been washed in a long time. Bedding was clean but cleanliness was comparable to a bachelor pad. The pillows were really thin so if you can bring your own- I would recommend that. For the price, you get what you pay- it's a place to crash at night and overall we had no complaints and had a great stay and Roerto was an awesome host!

    Brooklyn2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was okay.

    Nate2017-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Roerto confirmed my booking request within 15 minutes of receiving it! He is an excellent communicator that offers clean rooms in a very hospitable environment! I will definitely book with him the next time I'm in San Francisco!

    Brett2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very large room, great place for quiet and rest. If you are driving into the city or texting a car, having an included off street parking space is a hear bonus.

    Cameron2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Location was good close to public transportation. Room was clean bed was comfortable. Good Thai and Asian food in the area.

  • Big private room next to Golden Gate park. Communication was simple and definitely felt like I got my moneys worth. Thanks Berto.

    Dane2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place's location is great -- a walk away from Golden Gate Park and close to public transportation. It's pretty affordable compared to other AirBnB's located within downtown SF. The house is an older rustic building. The drinking fountain's hot water valve was not working.

    Annie2017-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Not the cleanest spot but a great location and Roberto was super nice. Definitely a great place if you're looking for a cheaper place to stay in an otherwise expensive area.

Private room in a bright house in the Glen Park area of San Francisco. Easy street parking. 4 block walk to BART train. 2 blocks to MUNI cable car, K line.
Bright with Skylights. Its a house. Quiet. Unique little street in San Francisco with its own character. Large kitchen. The place is close to the BART station. About a 10m walk. BART connects to SFO and downtown/ Mission area. It is an 8m BART ride to get downtown. A 1m ride to get to the Mission area. There is also a MUNI (J) train which is about a 5m walk (2 blocks). Though its not advised to take any MUNI transpo unless you have a good book. There is plenty of street Parking available and no daily limit. You can park all day only needing to move twice a month for Street Cleaning.
Glen Park has excellent Thai, Mexican, Italian, French, and Japanese restaurants along with local produce at Canyon Market.
  • Nice room in quiet neighborhood- away from downtown but perfect for folks I was visiting. My flight was delayed and I arrived after midnight but Robert arranged for key and left lights on in my bedroom and bath to make it easy to settle in. It was easy to find street parking outside - about 1/2 mile walk to BART station, local shops, etc. for morning coffee or to get downtown. He was hosting lovely older dog that weekend - so overall its a better place if you are a dog person (or OK with dogs). But he'd let me know beforehand -- so all good with me! I'd definitely stay there again!

  • Kind. Available for time to check in or check out. Worth to stay!

    Satja2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Communication is key and Robert is a master of this. He made sure the check-in process was easy, and he recommended some places to check out in SF. (Excellent recommendations, by the way.) If Robert's got something you should know about, he'll let you know about it. An example of this was Tubby. During my stay, Robert was taking care of a French bulldog (Tubby). Robert was upfront about it, letting me know before I even booked — and I definitely didn't mind hanging with Tubby for a few minutes before I headed out each day. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay, this is a fantastic option. Public transportation is within walking distance, and the residential seclusion of this house provides a much-needed dose of quiet after a day full of SF hustle and bustle.

    Charles2016-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Robert is a really amazing guy. Made me feel very welcome in a new city. Location is a great little house away from the business of the city, but very easy to get to wherever you want to go. Definitely recommended!

    Joseph2015-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Homey, quiet place to stay in SF. For my purposes, location was ideal. It's a safe neighborhood, so no need to be concerned about that... Being a spacious house, there's plenty of room for privacy when Robert's home. He is both friendly and respectful, keeping the right balance of being sociable and giving privacy. Highly recommend him and the place.

    J.2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Robert is a nice host, open minded, fun. I played his drums . His house is beatiful and the room is cute.

Wonderful, cozy and clean private bedroom in the Castle. Comes with a King sized bed. Feel free to take a walk on a private nature trail to enjoy postcard picture perfect views before settling in to live like a king in a restored San Francisco castle.
My complete description follows this city generated notice which all short term rentals are required to include in their listing: SAN FRANCISCO SHORT-TERM RESIDENTIAL RENTAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: STR-1915 Possession of a San Francisco Short-Term Rental Registration Certificate certifies that the registration certificate holder has agreed to comply with the terms of the San Francisco Short-Term Residential Rental Ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code 41A). This ordinance does not require an inspection of the unit by the City for potential Building, Housing, Fire, or other Code violations. The Castle is located in the heart of the Bayview nestled into the hillside of a real working class neighborhood. When you stay at The Castle you are not just renting a bedroom. The large private yard full of exotic plants, breathtaking views, private nature trails, and a mountain water fall flowing into a wishing well make The Castle a hidden San Francisco gem. Various fruit trees on the estate are visited multiple times daily by the Telegraph Hill Parrots. The Castle is a private wildlife sanctuary 12 minutes from downtown San Francisco, the Mission, Dogpatch, SOMA, or the airport. The Castle is nestled into the north side of Silver Terrace above the landmark church All Hallows. Up until the early 1950's The Castle took up the entire north face of what is now Silver Terrace. The Serenity room is a spacious (170 square feet) private bedroom with a king size bed sharing 1 bathroom, within a large common area. The Castle is located 1 block from the 3rd Street T Rail Station which takes you directly into downtown.
Bayview is simply one of the most interesting neighborhoods in the city from being home to San Francisco’s Butcher Industry to housing a naval shipyard to being the longtime home of the 49ers and the Giants at Candlestick Park. Curbed magazine recently ranked the Bayview District as the # 1 up and coming neighborhood in the United States. Nowadays Bayview is going through a modernization process with the goal of revitalizing the entire neighborhood. It's a diverse working class neighborhood where people talk to each other, you don’t see much of that in San Francisco anymore. Quite a few nice places for coffee. My absolute favorite coffee house is Road House coffee company. I love going there. Very small and peaceful. Another really nice place is Javalencia on Third Street. It’s bigger and less crowded. Across the street there is a Starbuck's in the Bayview mall. Any of these places are a great place for meetings with plenty of tables and very friendly staff. My most recent favorite hangout to socialize and grab a bite to eat: Butchertown Gourmet, a sandwich place during the day and a wine bar at night. I always see people I know there. Radio Africa Kitchen is an Ethiopian place with yummy food just around the corner. Sam Jordan’s is a place for hanging out and delicious BBQ. For breakfast, Auntie April's Soul Food is a great place; One of my all-time favorites. Continue further into Dogpatch, the Mission, or any other San Francisco neighborhood for even more options to suit your culinary and social appetite. There are several wonderful parks in Bayview, but my favorite is herons head park. It’s a bird-watching jetty that takes you out into the Bay. It has beautiful views of the East Bay and the shipyard. Also, India Basin Park is great too. There’s a new park on the hill called Hilltop Park with a big grassy area and a skateboard park. People go there with their dogs and kids. For the artsy and crafty, The Third Street Village. A little community area where you can rent space for art and small events. It’s open to the community. Wonderful place! The Bayview is a mecca for local progressive starving artist with many underground studios, exhibits, and parties.
  • Great as always! love to stay here when I’m visiting

  • Paul is really welcoming and gives a feeling at home he's really warm I enjoy having a conversation with him he knows a lot

    Michel 2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house or rather the "castle" from Paul is huge. We had a very comfartable room with a good bed and a big flatscreen. If you come to San Francisco to make Sightseeing, you will need a car or rather you have to use the train. At the 3rd street you find some simple reastaurants. It is a walk of 5 minutes.

    Daniel2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place, quiet and clean.

    Charlotte 2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic place to stay and enjoy SF, without all of the crowds. The Serenity room is spacious and sunny, with comfy king bed and a beautiful city view out the window! It was down the hall from the shared bathroom which was kept clean and well-stocked with towels, shampoo, etc. Paul was easy to communicate with and has the house well-marked with signs and directions. I'd recommend asking in advance about where the accessible common areas are - the ones on our floor were all marked as private. It's an easy drive to nearby excellent coffee and restaurants, whether in Bayview or up in Dogpatch as well. Check out the Castle!

    Katherine2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Good place

    Cola2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome time! Easy access and check in.. everything is laid out in check details and signage is used which helped. The budding looked liked a castle and the roof top access has a beautiful view! Food and drinks were offered complementary to guests! Definitely recommended to anyone .. would love to go back!

    Trevor2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy and comfortable stay! Nice and clean and efficient. I was in the city for a few days on business and my room at the castle was exactly what I needed. The K train is only a block away and took me right downtown to my meetings. Was a treat to lay in a big comfy bed and watch TV :)

Thus, while part of a shared house, the master suite provides more space and more comfort than many private apartments!
Besides having the most reliably sunny weather, the Mission District is one of the most rich and diverse neighborhoods in San Francisco, and interest and excitement can be found on almost any street corner. Whether your desire is to take in the parks, colorful murals and authentic taco shops, or to sample from the many boutiques, cocktail bars and upscale restaurants, the Mission District has something for every taste and imagination.
  • Room exactly as described - very spacious including lovely terrace. Stack of SF guidebooks to browse in the corner was a nice touch. Graeme was out of town for the weekend but left clear instructions prior to arrival for access. We were out exploring the city most of the time so not seeing anyone around was not a problem for us. Thanks for having us, great place!

  • Graham's place is fully decked out and is a fantastic place to stay in regards to facilities and location. If you like cats you will be in heaven as there are two cats in residence who are ridiculously friendly and very welcome. We had a small hiccup upon arrival with parking arrangements and although Graham had to resolve it remotely he did this very quickly with minimum impact on our stay for which we are grateful. We would recommend staying and would love to do so again ourselves.

  • Our host welcomed us in person and responded promptly to all our requests. The room and common areas were clean and beautifully furnished. Excellent library.

    Tahn2015-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The home is beautiful, and the space was clean and private. There are two extremely sweet cats in the home, but easy to close a door to the bedroom area if that's of any concern. The location was central and lively. Great array of bars and restaurants in the area. If I'd recommend one restaurant in the area it would be Cuisine of Nepal, delicious. The home is highly recommend!

    Brent 2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This listing is actually the top floor of the apartment. It is very spacious, with lots of lounging space indoor and outdoor. Not to mention lots of privacy. I checked in on my own due the odd hours but had no problems due to Graham's clear instructions. His welcoming party (2 cats) were adorable and always available for cuddle and snuggle. The location is great too, convenient but quiet. Absolutely love the place. One of my favorite airbnb listing so far.

Culture Center of San Francisco. This is an amazing neighborhood, just steps away from great street food, bars, museums, and restaurants. Close to Moscone Convention Center, Dolores Park, and 24th St BART. And of course, the weather in the Mission district is the best San Francisco has to offer.
Safe and secure space, with lots of people visiting this street to look at the famous Precita Eyes murals. There is a great sense of community in this part of the city that is really out of this world, and I'm excited to share it with guests.
This is the best neighborhood in San Francisco because it still has the SF charm that I fell in love with 10 years ago. There is a lot of heritage in this area, and the families and local artists work to keep it that way. On any given weekend you can find a block party or street festival that's been organized by the community.
  • This place was amazing!! Great location, and place for use to experience San Francisco. Super welcoming and made us feel right at home. Walking distance to great coffee shops and food. We had a perfect weekend!

  • Man this place was absolutely perfect for my needs! The room was private, and the host was extremely friendly and accommodating, checking with me now and then to see if I needed anything. Quick to respond if I contacted him. Quiet and very cool little area. The neighborhood was absolutely fantastic! Two bookstores within a few blocks, the best burritos and tacos in the area are right on the corner, numerous other great restaurants nearby, skateboard shops, barbershops, etc. so much art and life in this area!! A few blocks from the Against the Stream meditation center. Close to BART. I walked everywhere I went and I didn't need anything that wasn't close by! Highly, highly recommend!

    George2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jacob made my stay hassle free with excellent communication and the spot is super clean. The apartment faces an alley so it can get pretty noisy with people out there late and the garbage trucks coming early. But if you're not there to catch up on zs this is a great option in an awesome neighborhood.

This contemporary studio w/separate kitchenette, spa quality bathroom, furnished garden and indoor parking is totally private and walking distance to many popular locales, Golden Gate Park, DeYoung Museum, CalAcademy, Japanese Tea Garden, Haight Ashbury, and Twin Peaks. Public transportation is a 1/2 block away and 15 minutes to downtown at non-peak hours.
You are transported into a rich contemporary studio that is fully furnished and tastefully decorated. The full/double bed is awash in 400 thread count sheets, down blanket, and four sleeping pillows. The bed for a third guest uses the large sofa equal in length to a twin size bed but slightly narrower and uses 400 thread count sheets and down blanket. The main room is tastefully lit with quad recessed lights, dual sconces w/remote controls, as well as other lamps. For media, a 55" LED 1080 is powered by Direct TV and Roku 3 for internet streaming. The content library included is Showtime, HBO, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. There is a red wine refrigerator and a gel powered wall mounted fireplace. Should you have a car, SUV, or truck, secured indoor parking with remote control garage door opener are included during your stay. The spa quality bathroom has a tempered all glass shower with three shower heads to cleanse the day off you. Luscious and thick 100% cotton 900 gram towels are provided. The essentials include the customary Nexus shampoo and conditioner, soaps, hair dryer and almost everything else you can think of! The galley kitchenette is equipped with a full sized stainless steel refrigerator. The refrigerator and freezer come stocked with Brita filtered water, orange juice, cream cheese, butter, ice cream, a vast condiment array, Haagen Dasz bars, and full bag of ice. Other appliances include large microwave oven, toaster oven, inductive two range burner stovetop, and mini Keurig K-Cup coffeemaker, electric water pot and blenders for making smoothies. Cooking utensils include cookware, flatware, drinking/wine glasses, plates, bowls, and serving dishes. Starbucks French Roast K-cups and a selection of teas are available. Finally, my research tells me I am the closest AirBnb or overnight location available to UCSF scheduled surgery patients and supporting family members, health care professionals on rotation, or others in medecine here for a working seminar, training, and certifications. The UCSF campus is two blocks away.
The two neighborhoods within walking distance and its lively streets are Cole Street and Haight Street (known as the Haight Ashbury, famous in the 60’s and 70’s for its counter culture and hippie heritage.) Combined, the two streets are loaded with restaurants, cafes, and for Haight Street in a particular many different types of shops on the cusp of eclectic, funky, retro and used. Two blocks away from your private studio is Cole Street. Highly recommended on Cole Street is Zazies for brunch, Peet’s, the best coffee hands down, La Boulangerie for fresh baked pastries, Padrecitos for Mexican fusion with it's distinctive tequila selection and party atmosphere, Ino Vino wine bar, and Reverie’s, a chalkboard menu eatery where all the locals go regularly. Outdoor seating is availabe at most resturaunts. You'll also find wine bars, regular bars, retro ice cream bar, and a cheese shop to name a few. Of course, foods styles on Cole Street and its perimeter include Califonia/French fusion, Mexican fusion, pizza, sushi, Middle Eastern, Thai, Japanese, and a burger joint. Most, but not all, have outdoor seating in the front and back of the resturaunts. Also close is a Whole Foods Market, Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks, bicycle rentals, yoga and spin studios, weekly Wednesday Farmers Market and Thursday night mobile food truck jamboree called "Off the Grid".
  • Martin is the best host that I ever had, he is kind and was all the time taking care of us, when we arrived he was even waiting for us with breakfast !!! The apartment was perfect, everything is new, and the most important, has a garage !!! The neighborhood beautiful quiet safety and very close to the public transportation. Totally recommended option !!!

    Esteban2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this beautifully decorated space! The communication with Martin was easy and prompt. We were greeted by Martin and Cooper upon arrival and given a tour and helpful tips. The delicious snack basket, bagels and drinks (Keurig, filtered water, oj) were appreciated! The towels, sheets, shower, and tv channels were all fabulous. We loved the kitchen area with table and chairs and the outside patio space. This was within walking distance to shops and restaurants (recommendations and menus provided). Just down the block is public transportation; it's a comfortable walk to Golden Gate Park with all of its wonders. Everything provided was of high quality and there were thoughtful touches throughout (toiletries, magazines, books, space heater). Much more than we expected or what a hotel provides. There was room for three adults. Martin was a great host!

    Brad2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • So glad we stayed with Martin! He was very easy to communicate with and has a fantastic place with all the amenities you could need. Thanks for being a great host, Martin!

    Maddie2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Martin's studio apartment is lovely. The bed is very comfortable and the down duvet a nice touch. The bathroom is well lit with a superb shower, too. The kitchenette is in a former storage room, but with enough kitchen utensils to cook a good meal. It was my first experience with an induction cooktop and to be honest, I might consider it instead of my current gas one. The area was a bit noisy when we went to bed, but by midnight, it was very quiet. We took advantage of his garage, and didn't move the car until we checked out. We loved the neighborhood. There is a Whole Foods a couple of blocks away. We walked everywhere and it was fun to see the touristy areas as well as where the locals hang out. We used Lyft to get to places that we felt were too far to walk, or just being tired at the end of the day. For 2 people, Lyft Line is about the same cost as taking a bus. I would definitely recommend Martin's apartment.

  • This place was just as advertised and I commented on this to Martin. He was a great host with amenities such as bagels and cream cheese, great wireless, DirecTV. The apartment was cozy and comfortable and the bathroom was great. We will be definitely staying here again as it is very close to our daughter's apartment and to restaurants, stores, etc.

  • My wife and college-age daughter stayed with Martin for the weekend. They report that "Martin was a wonderful host. He thought of everything! And his studio apartment was just perfect for us -- and near everything we needed!" So, a happy wife and daughter=a happy husband and dad! Thanks, Martin!

  • We chose Martin's place first because of the proximity to UCSF. Having a private secure parking space with a garage door opener was a really big deal. If you're visiting UCSF, the location is truly perfect!

  • Absolutely great location. Wonderful set up and very comfortable. Just. Be aware that you're on the bottom floor and depending on your upstairs neighbor you might find it a little noisy. Martin is a wonderful host and has thought of everything - and the bed is nice and comfortable. Strongly recommend staying.

  • I WANT TO LIVE HERE! What a fantastic experience! David and Del have a wonderful place -- modern, clean, bright, comfy bed, a wonderful huge tub -- and I really enjoyed myself. They made everything so easy for me. Even had a fantastic conversation with David. I cannot recommend their place enough and I can't wait to go back.

  • I really enjoyed my stay at Del's place. Room is really nice and bed is fantastic; my shoulder injury improved a lot during my stay there:) Everything is perfectly clean and organized and in case you nevertheless still have questions, Del always have an attentive ear to help you out! Moreover, Mission neighborhood was a good choice and it is probably the place to be in SF. My stay in SF couldn't be best than by Del's place and I recommend the place to anybody.
