We live in an 1895 Victorian top flat with 12 foot ceilings on the best block in San Francisco. Our calendar is always up to date. Location Location Location~ Our home is close to the Mission, Lower Haight, and 2.5 blocks from the Castro theater. The underground is 3 blocks away, with a street car even closer. The room is small and cosy, but a great price for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US! Please fill out your profile if you are interested~and make sure to arrange a time to meet prior to your arrival, I lead a busy lifestyle, work full time, and wouldn't want to miss anyone! Check in is at 5 and we are 37 steps up from street level. Please go light on perfume and cologne - we are allergic. Restaurants are plentiful and beautiful Dolores Park is quite close. Your room has a twin day bed 75 inches long with a desk and a solid door. The room is 9.25 feet by 8 feet. Amenities include wireless and a gorgeous full kitchen. For all you foodies out there BiRite Creamery, Tartine, Delfina's Pizza and Proper are within 4.5 blocks of our front door. Michelin rated Range is just a few farther. As much as we love bikes, and we do, we don't have space for storage. If you rent one please return it at the end of the day or lock up on the street at your own risk. Please ask if you would like to have a friend for a short visit.
  • Great place to stay. Brenda is an excellent host and the house and room are beautiful and incredibly well looked after. The location is perfect with great food and transport links nearby. This is the place to book!

    Jake2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • I felt immediately 100% comfortable in the house, and Brenda is very open, kind and welcoming. It's a small room with a little bed, but I was at ease using the kitchen, lounge, etc, and Brenda is good company :)

    Ryan2013-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed with Brenda for four nights and had a lovely experience as part of my transition into the city. Brenda's place was is super cozy and full of stunning light. Location is also stellar! I wish I was there for longer! Thank you Brenda!

    Katie2013-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda is great and I really enjoyed staying at her apartment. She is very nice, welcoming and helpful. The room was gorgeous, comfortable and clean and I love how the room and apartment have been decorated. Brenda has also an adorable cute dog and a very quiet cat. The location is also very cool, close to restaurants and in a nice area. I would definitely chose to stay with her again should I be back in San Francisco.

    Valentina2014-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda is a very very nice host! Safe, clean, convenient! Highly recommended!

    Yuen Ting2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda is absolutely lovely--extremely helpful and kind too. The apartment is beautifully decorated and very clean--the room is on the smaller side, but perfect for one person.

    Katherine2012-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was fantastic host. I am definitely staying with her again if I re visit San Francisco. She is very easy going and flexible with time. I loved her cat so much. :)

    Ra2011-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had another successful stay at Brenda's, last week, and I'm reluctant to even consider staying anywhere else. Never give up on a good thing, right? I also haven't been able to try all of the recommended places in her neighborhood, yet, but the ones I have tried were good. I also took advantage of the wash and fold service at the end of the block, which is super convenient. I'd highly recommend it. It was a little louder outside than the last time I stayed, but the white noise machine helped significantly.

  • It was a nice, spacious and clean apartment. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and easy to find a parking spot. Buses are nearby to different area. We enjoyed our stay.

  • This apartment was located in a neighborhood with a very safe feeling and absolutely lovely old houses packed side by side up and down the hills. The neighborhood is very charming. The apartment looked just like the pictures and was comfortable for 3 persons; though the studio couch was certainly not a standard bed, it allowed for a restful sleep. The bed was great. The host met us soon after arrived and again when we checked out and phoned between once checking to make sure everything was OK, and it was. We rented a vehicle the last 2 days and easily found a parking spot just over a block away.

  • Mike and Nic's studio was the perfect place to stay during mine and my husband's trip to San Francisco! The location is great, as it is close to downtown and many other popular places to visit, in addition to being a short walk from many good restaurants. Being in a residential neighborhood, it really gives you the feel of what it's like to actually live in San Francisco. We also liked that the street parking around the place was free and there was plenty of it. The studio is very spacious and has all of the amenities you could need. We had a terrific stay and are looking forward to hopefully staying at Mike and Nic's place again in the future!

    Kara2012-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was in a great location, close to Cortland Ave. and shops and restaurants. The studio was comfortable and roomy. The furniture was old but certainly usable and enough for storage, etc. The kitchen had all of the necessary items. The adjacent parking was free and very much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

    Kevin2013-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Nic are very nice. It was very easy to coordinate with them our stay. When we arrived to the apartment they gave us lots of maps and guidelines to plan our trip in San Francisco. The place is really wonderful and so confortable that we actually felt like we were at home. It is located in a quiet area which also has markets, coffee shops and restaurants nearby.

    Josefina2012-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and accommodations! Mike and Nic were easy to work with.

    Trudy2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Mike and Nic's place. It is super cozy! Good location--we were able to take an Uber pretty much anywhere we wanted to go for about $6-$10. Mike and Nic were quick to respond if we needed anything. We would stay here again!

    Melissa2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mike certainly made us feel welcome. We had last minute changes of our travel plans and he was very understanding. The apartment is spacious and homely.

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • Sara's place is cute as a button! It has all the essentials for your stay in San Francisco. My husband and I are coffee fiends so we greatly appreciated the Nespresso machine and the selection of coffees. We also enjoyed relaxing in the backyard but also by the fireplace in the evenings. Having access to the high-end washer/dryer to do a load of laundry was so very convenient. Sara provided a binder with suggestions for the area which led us to places like Magnolia (for burgers and craft beer) and Bacon Bacon (for breakfast).

    Anna2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Sara's little retreat! The gas fire place makes it extra cosy & Sara & her family (including dog Boo) are super nice! We wish we stayed longer & saw more of them!! X

    Joss2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying at Sara's apartment. It was a beautifully decorated, comfortable, relaxing retreat which was a delight to return to after long days exploring San Francisco. The neighbourhood was safe and exiting to explore and public transport was seconds away. Sara was great to communicate with and highly accommodating with our check in & out times. I would highly recommend her apartment to anyone visiting SF.

    Marie2015-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was a wonderful host, her appartment well-prepared, charming and cosy. We enjoyed our stay highly, including the most interesting neighbourhood at corner Masonic and Haight. Sara's place is a perfect place for a San Francisco trip. Very recommended!

    Wolfgang2014-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Sara's Garden Retreat was my first time to San Francisco and it could not have been more perfect! My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and Sara was very welcoming of us bringing our fur-baby with us as well. The unit looked exactly as it did in the pictures and was very clean and beautiful. The coffee maker, Nespresso machine and the stocked fridge was beyond wonderful and appreciated. Our first night there, we walked less than 10 minutes to dinner and enjoyed the eclectic neighborhood. Sara was so kind to leave a binder full of suggestions for food, drinks and activities. She was always available for any of our needs and made sure our stay was perfect. I would recommend her home to anyone visiting SF! We had such an amazing anniversary trip. Thanks Sara!

    Molly2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sara had everything well organised and ready to go for us. She had a very useful book in the room with many suggestions of great places to go and things to do in the city. The listing was just as advertised, and we were very happy with everything!

    Michael2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's garden apartment is a perfect little space ideal to use as a base to explore the city. It's a short walk down to Haight Street which has a variety of restaurants & cafes. Sara is extremely friendly and certainly helped to ensure we had everything to ensure a comfortable stay. We had an 11.30 pm flight and Sara was kind enough to allow us to stay until we needed to get to the airport. This is what makes a host a super host. Big thanks for that Sara. We will be sure to let our friends from Australia know about your apartment when they come to San Francisco to explore the city and of course there is still plenty for us to see so a return visit is likely. Cheers, Martin & Geoff from Australia.

Private entry, sidewalk-level suite of living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath with artful touches in 1911 Edwardian. Close to beaches, GGate Park, GGate Bridge, groceries, cafes, restaurants on city-wide trolly line for memorable vacation/business/retreat. Easy drive to Marin.
The private sidewalk level suite, is clean and comfortable with original windows and doors providing natural light and fresh air. It's San Francisco living so you can be sure to hear the sounds of a trolley passing by and footsteps from people in the flat above. SF STR permit number (4 zeroes) 949
We live in a friendly neighborhood with cafes and restaurants, and are perfectly situated to walk or take local transportation to nearby visit museums. Step out the yellow door and there are walks through wooded trails to Baker Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge, Land's End, and Ocean Beach -- to the Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park, the DeYoung Museum and/or the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, with its lakes and beautiful gardens of the Arboretum. If you prefer to sidewalk explore, it's fun to walk down Clement Street from 25th Avenue to Arguello, stopping in at the pubs and Chinese restaurants (little Chinatown) -- head a bit further to Fillmore Street, or take the full journey on the California 1 trolley (electric bus) - 7 miles to the Ferry Building (about a 2 hour walk) through the distinctly different neighborhoods that make San Francisco such a great place to visit and live. If you are looking for a movie and dinner -- Pizetta 211 and the Four Star Theater are just around the corner. There's something for everyone.
  • Dennis' place was perfect for us. The location was excellent and provided a great opportunity to see the city.

    John2017-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Dennis's place. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The entrance is so inviting and the place itself so lovingly presented, it was perfect for our stay. We became well acquainted with the coffee place Angelina's on the corner, and it was very handy to have the shop over the road. Sandwiched between 3 parks it was a great base for some lovely walks and a handy bus ride to town. Don't miss Clement Street's 'Green Apple' bookstore just a short walk away!

    JENNIFER2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely basement flat. Very clean and comfortable with a great wee kitchen. Some nice little quirky touches!

    Gill2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Good price and decent location. Could have taken the public transportation...but Uber was easier. Would stay there again.

    Colin2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis's place was as advertised. It was clean and comfortable. It smelled fresh like flowers and it was nice to have the heated mattress pad. It was in a nice quiet neighborhood, but it was a little far from some of the attractions. The space was in the basement, so the ceilings were a little low and the entrance could have been better. There was a large bush covering the door and the flooring entering the unit was uneven and security in the unit could have been better. Overall, the space worked well for us.

    Emily2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis and Nancy were very easy to work with- they provided easy access instructions prior to our arrival and we had no issues finding it. We ran into them while they were sitting outside the unit and they made us feel very welcome and offered lots of tips for nearby points of interest. The unit is charming, thoughtfully decorated, and stocked with everything you need. The neighborhood contains many nearby gems and is within easy walking distance of Bakers beach and the gorgeous batteries to bluffs trail. But the neighborhood is a bit aways away from many parts of the city, so depending on your itinerary that may be something you wish to keep in mind.

    Alexandra2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Dennis' studio. It was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully decorated and had everything we needed and more. My husband is quite tall so the low ceilings were a bit of a surprise. The studio is in the basement which makes it a bit cold and damp. However, we were provided with an electric heater and lots of extra blankets so it wasn't a problem! The neighbourhood is safe and quiet. We ate breakfast every day at Angelinas - only a few meters from the front door. We used Uber to access all the tourist attractions which was cheap and easy. We highly recommend biking the bridge and taking a Go Car tour of the city. Dennis provided us with helpful maps and leaflets that got us on our way exploring. Our one criticism is security. The flat door is secured with a padlock only. We were anxious about leaving valuables and passports etc. in the flat. Overall a super stay and we would happily recommend Dennis' place to others!

  • Our hosts were incredibly welcoming. They made sure to coordinate with us ahead of time so that they would be there when we arrived to give us a key and help us bring our bags upstairs. They gave us personalized recommendations for stuff to do in San Francisco, even leaving a message for us during the day based on where we had spent that morning. Our accommodations were exactly as described in the review. The place was very clean and the bathroom was the quality you would expect in an upscale hotel. The room was also equipped with hotel amenities such as a hair dryer, soap, and shampoo. Even though there are other airbnb guests in different rooms, we did not see or hear them at any time (which in our case was welcome, I'm sure we could have made friends if we'd wanted to). We were right across the street from a grocery store (and a Starbucks), which was very convenient. There were also a lot of restaurants and shopping a block away. The neighborhood was quiet, but there were still things to do. If we return to San Francisco (which we will, loved the city in general), this is definitely somewhere we would be very interested in staying in again.

    Brandon2015-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very gracious and accommodating! Check in was listed at 3 pm, but the host was nice enough to let me grab my keys, leave my luggage at his house, and charge an external battery for my phone at 11 am. The room was better than what you would find in a hotel and had a comfy bed, amazing bathroom, and free wi-fi. The host was very kind and even gave me insight on what to check out in his neighborhood and even where to get dry cleaning. I can't say enough nice things about this listing.

    James2015-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • warm and friendly I felt like Jeff was an old friend! The home is GORGEOUS. I definitely will stay here again for another biz trip. Unbeatable location in Pacific Heights. Blocks away from incredible views of the city and Bay!

  • Great stay as always with jeff!

    Nick2015-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was very welcoming and the property listed was exactly like it was shown, very clean, the room and bathroom were lovely. My husband and I enjoyed eating breakfast at the neighborhood restaurants, Jane and Sweet Maple. The neighborhood had nice boutiques to shop at and was very convenient to restaurants, groceries, gas station, and parking was plentiful. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay there again.

  • Blair's condo is absolutely beautiful! It's located in one of the prettiest neighbourhood's of SF, it's quiet, very well decorated, equiped for making your own meals. We felt like home there and could see ourselves settling down in that kind of lifestyle! Shops are a few blocks down but you need to be a good walker ! Alot of steep streets to get to bus stops, grocery stores etc Perfectly located for siteseeing around SF, pretty central. Blair is very available to anwser your questions which is very helpful & nice. Overall I definately recommend staying in Blair's condo!

  • Blair was an excellent host! Check-in and check-out were a breeze, not to mention that Blair was very accommodating with our request for a later check-out time. This was our first experience with Airbnb but the description and the pictures were true to the space, even exceeding our expectations. The apartment is truly lovely. It is well-decorated and cared for, clean and cozy. We felt instantly at home, so much so that we are already talking about our next stay at Blair's.

  • Blair's home was absolutely stunning and met our expectations if not exceeded them. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. Everything was clean and neat. The neighborhood was great. We felt very safe and at home. There were a lot of good restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance from the house. Blair is a great host and very accommodating. A 10 out of 10 experience! Thank you Blair.

  • I arranged for my mother to stay in the Garden Suite for one week during her stay in San Francisco. The Garden Suite was very clean, and perfect for her stay. There's a regular sized fridge and microwave, and my mother was happy that there was complimentary instant Starbucks coffee and some Ghirardelli chocolate squares. If you want to hand-wash clothes, you can hang it up on the bathroom shower rail. There are also two laundromats half a block away. The windows look out onto the back garden, which makes the space seem bigger than it is. The location was very convenient for us, as it allowed her to walk to my place, and there are many restaurants on Geary and Clement within walking distance. You can also take the Geary bus straight downtown. Linda was very easy to communicate with, and quick to accommodate us as possible when we asked about changing check-in and check-out times. My mother would be happy to stay here again.

  • Linda's Garden Suite was a great find for the price. The place was cozy and private. The best part was that it was within walking distance to Golden Gate Park and a good selection of restaurants. Linda was very communicative and helpful throughout the process. Before checking out, she asked us to help out with changing out the sheets and taking out the trash but it wasn't a hassle at all.

  • This place is extraordinarily awesome, keyless entry is really convenient and the garden is a huge plus! I had tea here with my girlfriend and it was quite an experience. :) Linda is a really great host, she took care of everything and did a great job keeping things clean and tidy. I had a package arrived at the Garden Suite after I checked out, and Linda went out of her way to ensure I received it! I really appreciate her hospitality and would definitely recommend this as a great listing. A 5 out of 5.

  • Linda's Garden Suite was like a home away from home. It was so clean, comfortable, private and quiet. Highly recommended.

  • Had a great stay at Linda's place. Although it was a last minute arrangement, the communication was very well and had no problems during my stay. The place is very clean, quiet and comfortable. The area has easy parking by SF standards.

  • The appartment was a perfect location for a holiday in San Francisco. We stayed there for 4 nights. The appartment was very clean and calm (residential area). As we had a rental car the parking situation in the area was important to us - it was very easy to find a parking lot. Public Transportation (bus) is nearby (2 minute walk). The appartment has a separate entrance, a kitchen with fridge. The bathroom is small but ok and clean! Linda was very friendly and answered very quickly! We can highly recommend the appartment. If we visit San Francisco once again we know where we wanna stay :)

  • The Garden Suite is quaint, clean and just what I needed. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The kitchenette was perfect for breakfast and heating up leftovers. Su answered any questions I had. I would definitely stay here on future visits.

  • I really enjoyed the community established between the staff and visitors. Staff is extremely helpful and meeting other travelers from around the world was the icing on the cake. Now sharing a room and bathroom with strangers may not be for everybody but the shower area and toilets were kept very clean by the staff and fellow travelers and I rarely had to wait to use these facilities. I stayed a week and everyone that I shared a room with was very courteous and considerate. Now staying downtown can be very noisy especially around trash collection time which is very early in the morning and probably the most difficult part of my stay because I awoke from my sleep every time the waste collection trucks did their work. The only other thing I didnt care for was the smell of Chinese food all night due to the fact there is a Chinese restaurant on the first floor. Given everything I would definitely stay again because the price was right.

    Santiago2014-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location and excellent people! The entire staff is super-friendly and will make your stay as comfortable as possible! You will also be in between the Financial District and China Town. A perfect location!

  • Great location and very friendly atmosphere in San Francisco. That was very convenient and very nice, especially if you travel alone and want to make friends.

    Anne2012-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were great, and people were welcoming. I just managed to have bad luck and be placed to a person that snored all night so I didn't get much sleep. I wish the there were more than one bathroom per floor, but other than that it was good. Thanks!

    Andrea2015-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Pacific Tradewinds was amazing. It is a hostel so I was sharing the room with 7 other people, as well as the whole place was fairly full with other Travellers. With that said it made the experience that much better because I got to meet people from all over the world. Everything was fairly accurate to as described in the description. Only thing i wasnt ready for was the small bathroom but that really isnt a big deal, it suffoces for what you need you just need to compact a little. The place was clean and I enjoyed seeing that it is cleaned every day. I was also pleased to see that they were fairly stern on the clean up after yourself rule, especially with the kitchen. There was a lot of people using the common space so having that rule being inforced is needed. This was my first solo travel completly by myself as well as in san francisco, and it was my first time staying at a hostel and if I ever venture my way out there again I would deffinitly stay at Pacific Tradewinds!

This is an entire one-bedroom apartment in the heart of Hayes Valley. It is a goldmine - located centrally near Civic Center, public transit, shops, and restaurants. Nearby bus lines include the 21. There's street parking but beware of signs as there may be restrictions. My home is very comfortable and clean. It is family friendly, with a full kitchen, a bed, and couch. Washer/dryer onsite. Apartment is on the 2nd floor. As your host, I am readily available over email/phone. Contact me anytime
  • Ian's place in the Hayes area is a short walk or transit to everything San Fran. He is such a welcoming guy and was very accommodating. His places has all the essentials and is very clean. Would book again in a heartbeat!

  • A nice apartment in a great place! In the very centre, so it's easy to explore San Francisco! Clean and very nice equipped with all needed things! Strongly recommend to anyone! We ourselves are gonna stay there again soon!

    Ruben2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was comfortable and perfect. Ian's place is centrally located to parks, restaurants, drugstores, etc. and it's in an up-and-coming neighborhood. From the communication to the convenience, everything was great. I would gladly return to Ian's residence and recommend it to any of my friends.

    Gisela2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ian and Liz are fantastic hosts. Their just getting their place squared away for AirBnB but they'll surely have no problem booking it in the future. Communication with Ian and/or Liz is fast and friendly. Never did I feel like I would be waiting for a reply. The location of the place is very convenient. I hate "taking a stroll" and walking around places but I felt compelled to because it was such a warm little spot. Convenient restaurants (Chez Manns' muscles and créme brûlée down the street were delicious!), shops, a park, and UBER or public transportation to Castro, Chinatown, and Fisherman's Wharf. I believe we only spent around $5-$13 in Uber fares and public transportation is $5 one-way for two. Only issue may be parking . We took a rental and it's San Francisco after all... But Ian and Liz will be able to provide help with some solutions to that. Don't hesitate to book this place and walk around the neighborhood or hang out in the living room, roll up the window, and enjoy the SF sounds outside.

This room can fit five people. Nobody else will be in your room other than people in your group. The bunk beds sleep four, and the fifth person will sleep on an air mattress on the floor. There is a shared bathroom down the hallway, not a private bathroom.
Quiet bedroom in a house shared with other airbnb guests. This room accommodates from one to five guests. Guests must be at least six years old to sleep on the top level of the bunk beds. The beds and mattresses are from Ikea. The mattresses are 'medium-firm.' If you book this room, the entire room is private just for you... nobody else will live in your room. The bathroom is down the hallway, and is shared. I have another listing with a private bathroom, if you like. If you have five guests, the fifth person will sleep on a cheap air mattress directly on the floor. This is a detached 5 bedroom house near Golden Gate Park and Twin Peaks. Before you contact me please run an Internet search for this phrase: "What time is it in San Francisco, California USA?" If the time in San Francisco is between 12 midnight and 8am please do not message me, send a booking request or attempt to alter an existing reservation with me, because those actions will cause my phone to beep which will wake me up and I will have to correspond with you immediately. I can't turn off my phone to avoid being woken up, because I have to be available at all times for my current guests, who may be out late but need my help. I also can't ignore your attempt to contact me, because airbnb is timing my replies. If I ignore a message all night long that will damage my response rate average. I will not let you stay here if you wake me up from midnight to 8am my time. Of course, if you are a current guest here in my home and some emergency requires you to wake me up, that is OK and welcome. Also, if you need to cancel a reservation and you are within 8 hours of the cutoff window for getting a partial refund, you may cancel even though that will wake me up. I don't want you to lose all your money just to not wake me up. Now, on to my description of my home. Mine is a detached 5 bedroom house in a central location near Golden Gate Park and Twin Peaks. I offer four of my bedrooms here on airbnb, though not every night of the year. This is a hostel and it gets very busy here with over a dozen guests per night, during peak times. My partner and I are expecting a baby on October 4th, 2017. I may not be able to prepare your room or greet you if I am at the hospital awaiting the arrival of our child, but if this happens, I will provide you the door code, a stack of clean linens and instructions so you can be self sufficient. I will also return $50 to you to compensate you for having to clean and make up your own room. Note my birthday is October 6th and I don't have guests that day, so do not book that day, even if airbnb shows it open, since they have trouble blocking days reliably. There will be other guests here during your stay, potentially half a dozen or more, though usually fewer. This is perhaps not the place if you want quiet private time with your significant other, though I have had many couples stay here on their honeymoons. Please read my listing and my profile before contacting me. There is plenty of free unlimited time parking in front of my house on the street. Note I checked the box that says free parking on premises so that my place would show up in searches for places with free parking. I want to be clear that there is no parking inside my house, but there is parking across the street in front of my house. This is street parking that is uncovered. If you arrive with bikes, you may park them in your bedroom, but it will be cramped. You are welcome to make use of the kitchen. Large living room with a large dining room table you can eat or work at. There is a deck out back. The house is on a hill, and the nearest house out back is a block away, so the view is spectacular. You get your own bedroom with two twin size bunk beds. I also provide towels, sheets and blankets. There is one five foot wide clothes closet with hangers. If you book for five guests, I place an inflatable air mattress on the floor where the sleeping surface is about 8 inches above the floor. This room is a guest bedroom so it does not have a private bathroom... rather you have to share a bathroom with others. You may use only this shared bathroom, not any of the other bathrooms in the house, so keep in mind. There is no 'emergency bathroom' you can access, not matter how dire the situation, so please do not ask. If you want to cook while you're here, you can store food in the fridge, but you should keep it in a bag and put your name on it so my other guests don't accidentally think it's food provided by me for them. There is just one large refrigerator for my use, the use of my girlfriend and all of my airbnb guests. The fridge is usually packed, so don't expect to go shopping and store a ton of your own food in the fridge. The closest underground Municipal Railway (MUNI) station is Forest Hill. You can walk there in 12 minutes. The 36 MUNI bus stops there and will take you to and from the house. The bus stop is right in front of the house. This bus only comes every 30 minutes, during operating hours, so many guests prefer to walk to or drive to the subway station. The house is centrally located, but not close to bars, shops, tourist spots, nightlife or anything other than private residences. That means this location is unusually quiet and even peaceful for a busy city like San Francisco. Some call it serene. If you stay here, please don't later write in a review that the house is not near attractions or rate the location other than fantastic on a star basis. You can see the location on the map before you book, and you can use street view to wander down the streets to see how awesome the neighborhood is. There is no reason any guest should rate the location other than five stars. If you stay here and feel inclined to not rate the location five stars, that means you booked the wrong place for your needs, and it is your fault alone, because I am warning you so plainly here there is nothing to do nearby my house. Please do not stay here if you feel this location is not a great location. The stars matter to hosts very much, and I have five stars across the board as of June 1, 2016. I can't do anything to change the location, but I can talk guests out of staying here by asking them to stay elsewhere if they don't feel this is a great location. Read my many reviews that praise the location. The location is in the geographic center of the city, so I consider it a great location, but please don't expect to walk to the exciting places from my front door. I provide breakfast ingredients, including juice, bread, pancakes, eggs, tea and coffee. The coffee beans are in the freezer, and I provide a coffee grinder. Sometimes there are special extras like yogurt and fruit, but please don't be disappointed or complain if you don't find these items when you visit. I understand few airbnb hosts provide any food. I provide plenty of food. I provide breakfast food you prepare every morning without charge, and this will save you a lot of money versus eating out. Please weigh this benefit when you evaluate my prices. Note that the food I provide I get at the same grocery stores I shop for my own food. I do not provide single serving containers of butter or cream cheese. Rather, there is a full size stick of butter and a full size bowl of cream cheese that everyone shares. The bread is in normal retail bags that contain half a dozen or more servings. The juice is in a large jug, not in individual bottles. The coffee beans are in a large bag, not in individual packages like at a motel or hotel. If you believe the way I handle food is improper or not safe, all I can say is I have been providing food to guests since 2008 when I began hosting, and nobody has ever complained that they became ill. If my providing food in this manner makes you uncomfortable, then please do not eat it. I have shampoo and bar soap for you in the shower, and liquid hand soap in pump dispensers at the vanity sink and by the kitchen sink. Please bring your own bar soap if you require a fresh bar. I don't provide the individually wrapped bars you find in hotels, but the conventional large bars used in private homes, and multiple guests use the same bar until depleted. This is much less wasteful than hundreds of individual bars I would otherwise use per year, but if it upsets you, please bring your own bar soap. Note I require my airbnb guests to have 'verified ID' to book here. This is for the safety of my other guests. Please verify your ID before you send me a reservation request, or you won't be allowed to stay here. Quiet hours are between 10pm and 7am. I ask that you whisper quietly after 10pm, and not watch any movies without earbuds. You'll have to retire to your room by 10pm, as I don't allow use of the living room, dining area or kitchen during quiet hours. Please do not plan to wake up prior to 7am. This means if you have an early flight or other transit trip, you should stay somewhere else. As I mentioned above, I offer up to four rooms in my house to airbnb guests which means there could be a dozen or more guests. If you wake up at 5am and start walking around your room or the common areas, it's likely you'll wake up at least some of these guests, which is not fair to them, and hurts me too because I live here and can hear people walking around on the hardwood floors. Additionally, I have to be concerned about my reviews, as I strive to achieve a five star ranking. If you wake up a dozen other guests because you have to leave early, at least some of those guests will not be inclined to rate the experience staying here as highly as if they slept soundly. You should also not plan to sleep soundly past 7am if you stay here. When a dozen people start walking around, cooking breakfast, showering and talking with each other, the house is full of energy. It can be a quite noisy depending on the mix of guests that morning. This mix of guests starting their day is one of the most compelling reasons to stay here, however. I have guests from dozens of countries stay here each year. You will meet fascinating and lovely guests during breakfast. It's nothing like the breakfast room at a hotel, where people silently eat and never talk to anyone not in their party. If breakfast as I describe sounds unappealing to you, there are many other less busy places to stay in San Francisco. I write this explanation to help make your stay delightful and charming, not to scare you. Staying here is an experience most of my guests really, really like, as you can see in my over 600 reviews. I don't have any reviews I consider to be bad, and I want to keep it that way. I want you to enjoy the experience as well, and if you think you'll not enjoy such a social experience, I encourage you to stay with one of the many other kind hosts in San Francisco. I no longer offer pick up or drop off service. Ride sharing companies such as Uber and Lyft now operate legally at area airports, and their prices are lower than taxicabs. I used to offer pick up and drop off, and you will see mention of this in some of my reviews. It's quicker for you to hop in a ride share car than for you to wait for me to arrive in my car. The San Francisco airport if four cities away from San Francisco, so it takes 30 minutes to drive there. The ride share companies charge about $30 for this trip. Please do not ask me to pick you up or drive you anywhere during your stay. You must have a smart phone to use these services. There is free WiFi at the San Francisco airport. The network name is: San Francisco Free WiFi and there is no password required. Please load the app before you leave home and enter your credit card details then, so the app is ready for when you arrive. I offered rides at any hour for years... most recently at 4:30am. I am exhausted and am happy Uber and Lyft exist. From 7am to 10pm: Kitchen, living room, dining room and outside deck. Anytime: Toilet and guest room. It is very important you understand this rule and thoughtfully reflect on it before you book. If you get here during quiet hours, you have to retire to your room until quiet hours expire, even if you are starving and have been on a plane all day and night. You can't order food to be delivered during quiet hours, and you can't eat in your room. Please do not stay here if you are not OK with this. This means you may not sit quietly in the living room or dining room, even to work on your computer or read a book. Please do not ask me for an exception, because I want to be helpful and grant you an exception, but I should not, for the benefit of my many other guests. This room has a writing desk and a chair in the closet, so you may work in your room 24 hours a day, although it will be a bit awkward given the location. I like to talk with my guests. I sometimes even have dinner with my guests and/or take them sightseeing. I live at the house in my own bedroom, and I work from home, so I am around to answer questions and help you make the most of your visit. When you arrive, I will offer you a free map of San Francisco. I will also suggest we sit at the dining room table to discuss what you want to do while in the City. I will point out on the map the places you mention. I will also suggest other places you may not have heard of or considered. Many of my guests later write in their reviews how much value they obtained from this conversation. Lots of hosts on airbnb don't spend the time to help their guests make the most of their visit. I love helping out my guests, and you'll sense my enthusiasm when we meet. I love San Francisco and I'll help you love San Francisco too. I am not like the concierge at a fancy hotel. I don't collect commissions from any of the places I recommend. You can trust what I say.
  • I enjoyed staying at Kevin's house! He was a gracious and helpful host. My room was pleasant and neat, and the neighborhood is very quiet and safe. The bus stop is indeed across the street from the house, and the Metro station just a short bus ride from there, so anywhere you'd like to go in the city is pretty accessible.

  • Kevin was a great hoster! When we got to his home, it was very impressing, near the twin peaks with a wonderful view! We loved to stay at Kevins terasse and look into the green nature.. Theres all you need at his home and Kevin explained us very well how everything is working. The bed is wonderful comfortable! And the best when we woke up: You can make your own breakfast theres really everthing you need for a great start in the day! Thank you so much Kevin, we wish you all the best! Shirin & Magdalena

  • Kevin is a great host! He helped us in anyway he could and we met all these amazing people while staying there.

    Domen2014-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Expect your stay with Kevin to be friendly and social. Kevin lives on the lower floor of the house and lets the rooms on the upper floor out, and the upper floor is like a very nice hostel. The accommodations are clean and very basic - he's really stripped his space down to the bare minimum. I was with him for two nights and all other rooms were full, and because Kevin loves hosting people, it was always a lively environment. I came back to the house each time to find him engaged in conversation with groups of guests. If you're a light sleeper, consider bringing earplugs: the walls are very thin, and though everyone I met was super respectful, even normal conversations in the morning and snoring sounds at night traveled right through. You'll have everything you need, including things you don't: like fixings for a basic breakfast, which is such a nice addition, and a ride to/from the airport if you need it! Kevin was available, thorough, and generous to a fault. He also had a great tip for an app called Lyft, which meant I could get a taxi whenever, wherever! I'd stay with Kevin again in a heartbeat.

    Jennifer2014-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin was a lovely host. He spent ample time going through the details of his home and the best places to go and see. The room was clean and spacious. The location was good for getting around and didn't take too long to get to the heart of San Francisco. I would recommend Kevin's home to anyone looking to stay close to down town but not in the hub of the business.

    Grace 2014-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin was by far the best host I've experienced staying in an airbnb! Not only did he exceed expectations, but he also took an extra step by helping my friends (it was their first time in San Francisco) decide what activities best suited them. I would highly recommend staying with Kevin.

    Josh2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Kevin's house. Other guests were respectful of each other. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable and house was quiet. I would stay here again whenever I need a quiet place to stay. I highly recommend Kevin's place!

  • The house is located in a quiet and convenient place and easy to get most of the famous places. Kevin is very experienced host and happy to be of help. He indeed helped us resolved some urgent issues. We enjoyed our stay in Kevin's house in SF, and we would love to stay there in the future visit in SF as well. Thanks.

  • Cheryl was super friendly! The room was very comfortable and had all the necessities. She even bought the nice brands of toiletries and left them for guests to use. I would definitely stay with her again!

    EMILY2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl's place is located close to public transportation. The space looks just like the pictures. She checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure we had all we needed. She was a great host.

    Jasmine2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl made our stay in San Francisco an absolute dream. The room was very spacious and had great facilities. Cheryl went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We did not get the opportunity to meet Cheryl however she was always quick to reply to messages and aiding us in anyway she possibly could. 10/10 would recommend, lovely first air bnb experience!

    Holly2016-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl is an amazing host, very sweet trustworthy and helpful. The place is super clean and safe. You would be surprised by the hospitality you would receive.

  • Cheryl's apartment is conveniently located to so many beautiful areas of San Francisco. Cheryl could not have been any more hospitable. Small touches like letting us store our luggage in her garage pre/post check-in, providing bottled water/snacks, letting us wash our clothes, and being available to answer any questions/offer suggestions go a long way. My girlfriend and I would stay at Cheryl's Airbnb

    Jason2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best airbnb I've stayed in. The room was exactly as described and had snacks and toiletries as well. Cheryl was so nice and if I am ever in San Francisco again I will be sure to book here!

    Caitlyn2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl's place was amazing, we felt really at home, even if it were for just 1 night (felt sorry we couldn't stay longer). Every detail in the room felt right, the wonderful bed, the little accessories in the bathroom and also the complimentary chocolates were a treat! Bur the most important thing I want to mention is the host herself :-) Cheryl is a very nice person, she did al she could to make us feel right at home and she even pointed out some things for us how to visit the city by transport. Thanks again Cheryl for an amazing stay, we will be back! ;-)

Relax on the balcony and take in the view of downtown San Francisco and the East Bay all from the gay friendly neighborhood of the Castro. You'll find quiet in your private room and the recently renovated bathroom offers both shower and tub.
What I love most about the apartment is the quiet, yet smack in the middle of the city. If you like plants and tropical fish, you'll enjoy the living room. You'll have exclusive use of the full bathroom and are welcome to hang out in the living room and balcony. Arrangements can be made for kitchen use during your stay as well. I'll be available each day and will spend some time acclimating you to the apartment and neighborhood when you arrive. Have a special request? Let me know. The apartment is perched right above The Castro with only a 10 minute walk to shops, nightlife and The Castro street MUNI station. One of my favorite things to do is take one of the many walking paths that zigzag across the hills from The Castro to Twin Peaks. The nearest bus line is only 2 blocks from the apartment although I prefer to walk to The Castro street MUNI station about 10 minutes away for more convenient service. Street parking is comparatively easier in my neighborhood with spots usually available no further than 200 meters. Be mindful of street cleaning days.

  • If you love a great view, solid walking, and a firm mattress this is the place to be! Michael communicates very clearly and has a wonderful set up in his home space. We really only spent sleeping hours and a few waking hours in Michael's home but it was pleasant the entire bit!

    Jennifer2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Michael's apartment was great! Everything as described and better. Amazing view, beautiful bedroom and bathroom. Michael is very nice and helpful. Great place to stay!

  • We had a really good time at Michael's flat! The appartement was very quiet and he view from the balcony is stunning. The room was clean and confortable as well as the private bathroom. Michael was a really nice host, he always made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks again Michael !

  • I don't know which one was better: the drop dead gorgeous balcony view or Michael's fun personality! Michael greeted my boyfriend and I with a warm smile. The place was clean and spacious. I will definitely be back! Thanks again Michael.

  • Our stay at Kitty's place was very nice. A spacious and comfortable bedroom. There were 3 shared bathrooms in the apartment which we shared with other residents, which were all available all the time. It was very close to public transport to get us to most areas in San Francisco. Kitty communicated very well prior to our stay which made us feel very welcome in her place.

    Shaun2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice private room in a shared apartment. The bathrooms are shared with other rooms in the same floor, but i've always found them tidy and clean. Room is spatious and the apartment is in a very nice and strategic area. We had an issue with the room locker, but Kitty was always very responsive and gave us instructions on how to retrieve back-up keys. Overall, i would suggest this accomodation.

    Benedetta2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, right near bus and train lines. Ample bathroom space for all the tenants. Typical issues of an older house in the city: lots of street noise and noise from other tenants. Kitty was helpful and responsive. This place was great for a weekend in the city.

    Greg2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was so clean and convenient. It was super easy to check in and out and it was perfect for our trip. Bathrooms and kitchen were clean and nice. The neighborhood is quiet and cute but super close to so many things.

    Megan2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The room was spacious, bright, super clean and had nice circulation. We didn’t have issues getting into the room, we had a nice big TV, the bed was comfy, and we received a nice little gift from Kitty. There were three restrooms, and two with showers so there was no waiting. We were near the street so we could hear people passing at night but not a huge deal unless you’re a super light sleeper, but we were also on the second floor with a third floor above us and heard nothing. All in all, it was a great stay and we would definitely visit again!

    Delphina2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place, next to MUNI station and lot of restaurant. Would come here again.

    Thomas2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is very good value for your money in a good location. There are many eateries and bars around. A safeway is also close by. There are multiple rooms in the building. It all felt a bit like a hotel with shared bathrooms, just without a lobby and personel. The entrance features a narrow, steep stairway!

  • Igor's place is in a really nice location close to everything and primarily to Golden Gate Park. it's also within a couple of miles to Baker's Beach and Cliff's End. It was a good experience as the room was large enough and also clean. There is a cleaning lady hired. There is plenty of parking in the street and nearby. Would definitely stay there again if given the opportunity.

  • My fiancé, her sister and her mom stayed with Igor for two nights and loved their time in his home. Igor was extremely warm and hospitable; and his home was clean and beautiful. Igor welcomed my fiancé with open arms and they loved meeting his family. I would highly recommend Igor based on how he treated my loved ones with respect and friendliness.

    Benjamin2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, very simple to use public transport. We enjoyed our stay, the noise is quite loud as walls are thin, however after purchasing some Ear plugs to sleep it was fine for us. Thank you Igor

    Todd2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • It was in a nice area but not near most of the activities nor the BART so you needed to take a car or bus line to get around. A little nosy with other guests and sharing a bathroom but overall, a good place to stay.

    Wendy2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place wasn't what I expected judging by pictures and description. It is ok, but there is a strong odor in the home. Room was sloppy in appearance which didn't make me feel confident about the cleanliness. I didn't feel like there was much privacy as there was a loud gathering or party one night... I think there was a family of guests also staying? The best thing about the place was the location. Otherwise, I didn't feel very comfortable at this Airbnb.

  • Mary was so nice and responded to all of my questions right away. She recently renovated the rooms and the bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds I have ever been in! Both my boyfriend and I slept like babies. The house was about a 20 min drive to central SF and there was a bus stop right out in front of the house. There were several restaurants and take aways within walking distance. There was plenty of street parking which was very nice considering SF is usually a nightmare for parking. Mary had a variety of snacks and food available and it felt more like staying with family or friends than at an Airbnb, we both felt very comfortable and the place was immaculately clean. All in all a wonderful experience and if we ever come back to SF we will definitely stay again :)

    Megan2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and elegant. Closely located to a lot of attractions in San Fran. Close to public transportation. Great restaurants about half mile away too.

    Amy2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend staying at Mary's place! She is an amazing hostess who exceeds expectations and immediately makes you feel at home. The updated room and bathroom were very comfortable with top quality linens and mattress. The location was perfect as we were visiting our family less than a mile away. We'll definitely come back again the next time we are in town!

  • We had a nice stay. The bed was sooo clmfortable. Public parking on the street (safe neighbourhood). Great breakfast: Eggs, Cheese, Pancakes,... On the Weekend Mary made us great breakfast. Tank you for the nice stay.

  • This was our first time staying at an Air Bnb. Mary is an amazing host, incredibly sweet and understanding (let us check in a little earlier so we can go explore SF). The room was amazing and super inviting and safe. The bed was super comfy, especially the pillows! Lots of FREE street parking! I haven't been to San Francisco in a long time and didn't know parking had become so crazy and expensive! You can park your car and Uber or take a bus.

    Cristel2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Mary for the host. Good location, clean, easy to access, easy to park as described. Mary is responsible and responsive. Though some noise in late night and early morning by other travellers. Whole experience was still great!

    Ling Pong Joe2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was a very welcoming host and very friendly. The room and facilities were top class; the bed was extremely comfortable and the facilities (TV/internet/cooking/toiletries/etc) were better than many top hotels I've stayed with. I would stay again and recommend to anyone. The room is up one flight of stairs which was not a problem for me.

    Shane2017-05-17T00:00:00Z

Hi, here I am sharing my not too big 1br apartment with Airbnb guests. It is going great so far but I thought I should put down a few notes in here. - Yes, I live in this apartment too but I close my room's door and my guests have super private, their own studio apartment. - I am almost never home, leave early in the morning and come back late at night. - One rule very important to me, "NO SHOES" please.
This is a living room area turned into a bedroom. Guests will have their own space, divided by room dividers. - I have 2 beds One Queen/One Twin. Twin bed opens up to a King for 4 people's stay. - Queen bed is a little more private comparing to Twin/King because of the room dividers. You will wake up to great views of San Francisco, I promise. Full privacy, I might not even be home during your stay since I stay at my cousin's pretty often.
    - This apartment is super centrally located. You are literally in the middle of the city. - Get groceries at Safeway or the Farmer's market on Saturdays, and breakfast at cafes just steps away. - There is lots of free parking on the street right in front of the building. I help my guests with parking if they need to.
  • Tolgay was an awesome host. He was very very easy to communicate with, was nice and flexible with my schedule, and made me feel at home. He immediately made me tea and gave me some of the delicious asparagus he made. Comfy place great view and really convenient for walking. Like a 5 minute still to Japantown which was nice because I would go and come back and go. Right next to other awesome shops and restaurants on Filmore.

    Rahul2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tolgay is super responsive and very friendly, it was a great stay in San Francisco in a nice area. The apartment has an incredible view... every morning!

    Wilhelm2017-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great accommodations. Tolgay was very hospitable. Location is close to restaurants and grocery. Will visit again!

    Stacie2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Tolgay was very communicative and check in was easy. Other than checking on us to make sure we had found parking, he kept to himself for the rest of our stay. His space is clean and has a nice view of the city. We would highly recommend staying with Tolgay to anyone visiting Sn Francisco.

    Molly2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tolgay's apartment is a very good option to stay in SF. It is located outside the noisy city center, which I great. The bed is very comfortable, and the kitchen is very well equipped. The apartment has everything that is needed to have a great stay. Tolgay is a very nice guy. He asked me several times of I needed anything. I would certainly stay here again.

    Nicolás2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Tolgay's apartment is very well located in San Francisco what enables to enjoy the city without coping with transportation issues

    olivier2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tolgay was an amazing host. My parents from Korea stayed at his place and it was pleasant! Perfect location to go to Japantown/ korean market (on foot)

    Yujin2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had such a wonderful time staying at Tolgay's apartment! The place is welcoming and thoughtfully furnished with a beautiful view of the city. I can't say enough about Tolgay, who went above and beyond in making me feel at home during my first hectic week of moving to San Francisco! It was also very helpful for me that the building has elevators since I had multiple suitcases.

This room has a separate entrance to the house which is very convenient for the guests and their privacy. It is walking distance to attractions such as Lands End, the Cliff House Restaurant (an iconic San Francisco restaurant), 5 blocks from golden gate park. Room has a new 65' inch Sharp flat screen TV with cable and Apple TV. There is a mini fridge for guests in the room. The room has a private bathroom. The location is the best part about this listing with close by attractions.
This space is unique because it has a separate entrance to the house so you feel removed and do not need to see people. It is very clean a good space and before entering the room you will see the backyard of the house. There is also a "crash pad" mattress in the closet available if you would like to accommodate a third guest who could use this to sleep on. Extra guest after 2 people is $25
I love this neighborhood because it is located so well and gives a chill vibe in the big city.
  • We loved the room. Both bathroom and room were very clean! Easy access, cute backyard, very private and peaceful. Thanks for such a great place to stay!

    Marisa2017-03-31T00:00:00Z

    Vincent2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wes' room was tidy, clean, and comfortable and exactly what we needed for our stay in SF.

    Robyn2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great find. We didn't have much contact with the host in person, but he was quick to respond whenever we texted. We asked for a "late check out," but the other guests were slated to arrive. Wes was very accommodating and allowed us to leave our luggage at the house until we were ready to leave for the airport. Having a private entrance and bathroom was a major plus! We'd definitely stay here again!

    Nicole2017-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wes' place was easy to access, conveniently located and had the essentials. We appreciated the private entrance and location, away from the hustle bustle yet accessible to public transportation and Uber. The maps and snacks were a nice touch. Good bang for our buck.

A block from Valencia, 3.5 blocks to BART, fabulous cafes, restaurants, shops and clubs within one block. Yes, you have your own space, your own bathroom and your own entrance. Our building has 3 units, and you will be sharing a wall. The people on the other side of the shared wall are loud. I wish I could say we have a quiet sanctuary. If you read through my reviews, you will see that the noise bothers some, but not all. I provide a background noise machine and earplugs.
The space is on the ground floor with a sliding glass door that opens to the back yard. The main room has a queen size bed, dresser, desk, and futon sofa, cable TV, and shelves to organize your things. There is a small room outside of the bathroom that has a small refridgerator, and microwave. Since it is not a real kitchen, there are disposable plates and utensils because doing dishes in the bathroom would not be a good idea for our plumbing. You will find a Nespresso coffee maker, coffee pods, a toaster, cutting board and knife. The bathroom has a sliding door, The toilet is under the stairs, so a sloping ceiling, please take care not to bump your head! (See the picture) There is a sink and shower.
The Mission is hard to describe. It is vibrant, and a little bit of all that SF has to offer. There is great food, and the best people and this block of SF has the best micro-climate in the whole city. I feel lucky to live here.
  • Karen's place is really nice, like a decent hotel room, in the way it is set up. Everything is self contained and nice and neat and clean. The snacks were a nice touch. Karen was really communicative to make checking in a breeze.

It is clean, modern, and offer all what you could need. I truly recommend this place. It is near to nice places and completely independent. It is a nice loft.

    Marcela2015-08-26T00:00:00Z

  • Karen's place was my first Air BnB experience and turned out to be a great experience. Karen is very informative and kind. There are so many things available at the rooms with very comfortable amenities. It is much better than staying budgeted hotel!! Location is super convenient with lots of restaurants.

    Reina2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Karen was my husband's and I's first airbnb trip, and it was a great one!! Karen met us when we arrived in the morning and let us drop our luggage off while we explored Mission District. She gave us many recommendations of places to visit in the area! The room was just as she described. Karen has thought of everything! From snacks to cold waters to local beer to coffee/expresso to anything you possible forgot! The bed was very comfy which made for an even better stay! We loved having our coffee in the patio garden! We really enjoyed the area. Very cultured, lots of quaint shops, great food, and a couple blocks to BART. Thank you so much Karen for a lovely first airbnb experience!

    Kristen2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is the perfect little hideaway for in the midst of the bustling city just outside. It's quiet, cozy, and very comfortable. The bed especially with the great tempurpedic mattress topper. Pure heaven. Karen has thought of everything. One of the best Airbnb spaces I've had the good fortune of renting. Looking forward to returning.

  • The neighborhood was nice and safe. Vienna gave really clear instructions for check-in. It was really nice that she also offered complementary snacks in the kitchen.

    Jingyi2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Vienna's house was perfect, I recommend.

  • Wonderful place...always love to stay here!

    Reggie2017-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Vienna's place. The house was nice and clean, and also very close to the SFO airport. Vienna provided us with detailed instructions so that finding the place and check-in procedure went very smoothly. The coffee and snacks being restocked every day was also a nice touch!

    Danielle2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well taken care of. Vienna went out of her way to provide bagels, bananas, and cookies in the kitchen so that all of the guests had breakfast/snack options which wasn't expected and very much appreciated. There was a miscommunication about my accommodations when I first arrived, but Vienna was nothing but accommodating and did everything she could to make it right. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again the next time I'm in the city.

    Kevin2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Vienna was extremely helpful as this was my first airbnb experience! The location is ideal, sooo close to the (URL HIDDEN) directions are detailed and perfect. Would stay there again and recommend to others!! Good value and clean & tidy!! Thanks Vienna!

    Diane2017-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the room in the 3rd floor of Vienna's property in San Bruno. The room is bigger than it looks in the pictures, it has everything you need. A queen size bed, a table and a small sofa. Check in was easy and convenient due to the use of keypad for entry to the property and to the room. Vienna does not live in the property and the house is shared with other Airbnb guests, the common areas were kept tidy by the other guests and we didn't have any problems.

    Andrés2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Vienna's was very comfortable. Everything was kept very clean, and my husband and I definitely appreciated the croissants that were there for breakfast. I much preferred staying there than I would at a hotel.

We look forward to sharing one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the city with you, the Mission! PLEASE NOTE: We provide parking but we ask $20 per day, not included in your booking price. It is payable in cash when you arrive. There is only one spot and we have two rooms so please inquire about availability. If you are 2 people and you would like us to set up 2 beds, we ask 15 dollars extra per night to set it up for you. We live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath flat and list 2 rooms on Airbnb. The two guests rooms share one bathroom. You will either share the bathroom with one other guest or have it to yourself if the other room is not booked. We are near the Valencia Street corridor and we are a 5 minute walk to foodie heaven (Delfina, Bi-RIte, Arizmendi, Dosa, Tartine, etc) . . A very short BART ride gets you to other great parts of the city (door to door 10-20 minutes) including the Moscone Center, Union Square, the Embarcadero, Chinatown, North Beach and we are walking distance to Noe Valley, the Castro, and Hayes Valley. Very easy bus or MUNI (train) connections will get you to the Haight/Ashbury, Golden Gate Park, and Fisherman's Wharf in about 30 minutes. However, San Francisco is a small city and the greatest way to appreciate it is on foot! Our commitment is to provide you: 1. Great Value 2. An immpecibly clean room and house 3. A very central location, easy to access everything you want to see in the city and lots of public transit options 4. The most comfortable bed. It is a hypoalergenic, organic, Natura mattress (you need to try it to appreciate it) 5. Expertise on the city to help make your experience memorable- we have over 30 cumulative years in San Francisco and very diverse interests. We're here to help! 6. Assistance if you want it and peace and quiet if you don't. 7. Very flexible check in and check out We are within walking distance to great restaurants, bars, and diverse nightlife . Check out our guidebook for things to do in the neighborhood. We've tried to provide a varied list of the best our neighborhood has to offer. You will have a private bedroom (full sized bed) with shared bath. If you want to "cook in" we have markets a few blocks away with everything you'll need. If you are 3 people, we have a trundle bed which pulls out to accommodate a child or extra person. If you are 3 adults it is a little tight, but we have had many groups of 3 who have reported it was perfect. Please note that 3 is the maximum number of people the room can accommodate including children. Coffee and tea are available in the morning. The house has WiFi and a 42" LCD TV which you are welcome to use. We look forward to making your trip to San Francisco a memorable one! Michael and Yesica
  • Michael and Yesica were awesome. Beautiful home, wonderful location. My best stays on AirBNB so far.

    Logan2015-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, modern apartment in a great location. Sitting in the bay window with a glass of red after a "hard day" sight seeing was a highlight. Public transportation is easy to get you to all the sights. The Mission District has loads of local character but don't expect Rodeo Drive. Michael and Yessica were away at the time but they organised everything prior to our arrival via emailed instructions and their friend Lorena made sure the keys and parking were all good. Highly recommended. Paul Conroy, Melbourne Australia

    Paul2013-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accommodations! Very clean and cozy. Michael and Yesica are very sweet, excellent hosts!

    Kate2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great pleasure to stay with Yesica and Michael. We felt very welcomed in their stunning and cosy apartment. Their recommendations about places to dine and see in San Francisco were just perfect and we enjoyed every moment of our stay.

    Elena2015-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • MIchael and Yesica were very hospitable and all around great hosts. Their communication and representation of the experience were spot on. Their home is modern, stylish, comfortable and clean, and they made every effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Long time residents of the Mission, they were quick with excellent recommendations on local conveniences. Awesome location and excellent access to almost anything you'll want to do while visiting San Francisco. Even though parking in the neighborhood was easy, if you have a nice car you should definitely take them up on the extra charge and utilize the parking space in the garage which is clean, easily accessible and a fair extra charge. Thanks Michael & Yesica!

    John2013-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • It's the sort of lovely place that feels lived in and cared for. Wish I had had more time to chat with my hosts, who couldn't have been more cordial!

    Amy2014-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Yesica and Michael beautiful sunny room in the hear of the Mission. Its in a great area - close to lots of bars/cafes and quick ride via the bart into the city centre. Yesica and Michael were the most friendly and helpful hosts. We highly recommend staying here!

    Kirralee2014-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was lovely staying with Michael and Yesica. Certainly what an AirBnB stay should be! It was lovely chatting with them and learning about their experiences. The room is cozy and well lit, and everything was as clean as can be!

  • We arrived super late due to late flight connections because we were coming from Europe and our hosts were so nice and prepared everything so we felt like we could just come in and feel like at home. We've had a home made bread and butter made by the hosts which impressed us big time! They were helpful with directions and attractions near by. We would definitely recommend staying with those lovely hosts !

Don't find just any room; book one in the heart of SF that you'll actually enjoy! Room comes with 42" HDTV equipped with free access to Netflix, two full futon beds, a couch pull out bed, privacy in your room, and total access to the kitchen and two bathrooms (shared w/ other guests). You'll have free/easy street parking, be a quick 14 min drive from SFO, 3 min walk to T train (which goes directly downtown), and a 13 min drive to downtown and AT&T Park. You'll be in the heart of it all! :)
Please note that while your rooms are 100% private with a lock on it that only you will have, you will be sharing the kitchen and two bathrooms with three other Airbnb rooms. This is part of the fun though as you can meet different people from around the world who are staying here with you. Access to the kitchen and bathrooms is usually fine as most people spend the majority of their time out and about in the city, but sometimes during peak travel times you may feel the house being a little more full. So to be very clear, you will see several other Airbnb guests in the home who are living close to you (the nature of such a dense city as San Francisco) and sharing the kitchen and bathrooms, but as you can see in the reviews that my guests have loved their time here as people are usually very friendly and respectful. Your room is a converted living room, so it has a lot of space! The door is accordion style and has a pad-lock on it to keep your things secure throughout the day. The pull out bed comes with a memory foam mattress to make your sleep super comfortable! The futons have very thick, comfy mattresses that are enjoyable to sleep on. You also have a space heater in your room so that you can control your temperature.
Your stay will be in the Bayview District. It's a historic community with a lot of amazing character and people. You can look up more info online if you'd like to learn more.
  • Perfect stay for exploring the city. Everything like free coffee was provided. Easy and prompt communication. 5 star host!!

Everything we wanted to see in our short stay in San Francisco was very close and also very close to the airport. Sean is a great host and takes very good care of everyone, very responsive to messages. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone, and hopefully, I'll have a chance to come visit again too.

    Ivana2017-09-28T00:00:00Z

  • We had a wonderful stay in San Francisco. The house was very neat and comfortable, the location was perfect and we used Uber everywhere we went (free parking available!) The only issue we had was with noisiness. We were in the downstairs living quarters, and late at night and very early in the morning's we could hear all the talking and moving around from above and it was quite loud. However, overall we were very pleased with the stay.

    LESLIE2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was a fantastic place to lay out heads for a night. The only challenge we had was finding parking as we got into the area around 11 pm.

    Katie2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were very pleased with the room. It was very spacious and had everything we needed to have a great stay. It was also very private which we liked. The water was very hot and both the living room and bedroom had doors with locks which made us feel very safe. The bed was very firm and the people upstairs could be heard getting ready in the morning but this was expected. After all, we were in San Francisco. All and all a great experience and we would definitely go back again'

    Patricia2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy's room war very big (it's actually a small flat), quiet (except for the upstairs neighbor sometimes) and comfy. It wasn't right in the middle of the city but that's ok because there are enough buses around to reach every spot!

    Jens2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy process, Sandy was extremely helpful and accessible. Clean place and a good size for the two of us, would recommend.

  • Super clean, super cute room and house for usage along with the room! The room was quite small but perfect for the rest we needed!

  • Even though the place is not directly in the heart of San Francisco everything was easy to reach via Muni or other public transportation. If you like to go to the beach, Ocean Beach is not far away and you could walk there. I walked nearly everything from their apartment. It was awesome that the place has two bathrooms so at least one is always free to use. Furthermore the bathrooms as well as the room itself were really clean and tidy. The room included towels to use as well as a TV with Netflix. So even on a rainy day you could watch some series until the rain ends and head to San Francisco. Check-in and communication was easy and very fast. Responses from Daniel were always very fast and included every information needed. I would go there again if I come back to San Francisco!

  • Very clean. Tight space, but perfect if you just need a place to lay your head for the night.

  • Place was great, perfect for a 2 night stay. Instructions about check in/check out were great, had no trouble with that. Other guests were unfortunately quite loud in the early morning/ late night but apart from that uncontrollable issue, would stay again. Thanks alot.

  • Very accommodating and helpful during not entire duration of stay. Would recommend.

  • This place was great! The room was very updated and our hosts were very accommodating! Our room consisted of a bunk bed with a TV and many plug ins. It was perfect for what we needed. The shared spaces in the kitchen and the bathroom were very updated and clean. This location is a great place to stay for the night especially if you plan on sightseeing throughout the day! Definitely worth the very affordable price!
