  • Amazing place to stay and great host.. definitely a place to find your center

    brandie2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This loft is beautiful! It is clean, airy and a great place to stay. We loved everything about our stay. Merete is great and very helpful. Definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting San Diego

    Irene2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and comfortable unit very convenient to downtown sd via Uber. Host Merete is very pleasant and accessible and outside kitties are adorable and friendly. Downsides: the surrounding area is not one that feels safe. It's quite a run down neighborhood. There were three non working outlets in the unit. Overall a pretty nice place.

    Timothy2017-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you have never stayed in a tiny home before, this place would definitely set your standards high. The home is cozy and relaxing with a nice zen garden to enjoy outside the home. The home is equipped with plates, utensils and glasses if you would wish to cook. Though there is no air conditioning and it was in the middle of the summer, the house stayed cool by simply opening a few of the windows. Parking is available on the street and it is not hard to find. Merete is a great host and really makes you feel at home.

    Marialice2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Place was cosy will definitely be making a return trip

    Michael2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Merete's place! She was so hospitable and responsive to our every need. The neighborhood is charming. There is a panadería at the end of the block and a taquería next door. It is a quiet neighborhood and within short driving distance to Gaslamp and Coronado. The loft itself is so cute, very clean, and well furnished. I would recommend this place to groups of 1-3. The fourth person is a tighter squeeze, but it is also doable.

    Kate2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was as advertised , very cozy and merete was a pleasure to deal with. Very courteous to our needs. A definite joy to stay at her place. Thanks merete , til next time .

  • The tinyhouse is an absolute gem! Light and airy, with an extremely comfy bed and a funky modern vibe. I would live here if I could :)

    Loft in the Heights

@rt7oft:02 is located in the heart of Downtown San Diego, with a walking score of 93! You are a few blocks from the Convention Center, Embarcadero, the marina, Little Italy, and a multitude of restaurants and bars, shops and grocery stores. Enjoy over 800 sqft of space with a zen modern vibe that is tastefully decorated with a mix of contemporary and mid-century furniture, high ceilings, openness, & my extensive art collection. It's ideal for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Our Loft is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown San Diego’s East Village neighborhood. Inside the home, is a combination of tasteful decor, warm minimalism, and an abundance of art that results in a destination striking in both it’s modern aesthetic and comfortable feel. The open layout space welcomes guests with a complimentary cocktail, tea, bath amenities and a number of other perks including a super comfortable mattress and high end bedding and pillows. We are fully stocked with all the appliances you need including a Washer & Dryer. We also provide premium cable tv with a lineup that includes Viceland, HBO and Showtime. A few important notes: — Our building, although it has an elevator is a pretty long walk away from our unit and it’s just easier to access our unit by walking up 2 flights of stairs. We encourage using the stairs, think of it as a forced workout minus the gym membership! :) — San Diego has beautiful weather all year round and even on the hottest of days San Diego cools off in the evenings. There is central air-conditioning available which you are more than welcome to use but we encourage our guests to follow more eco friendly practices and join us in our initiative to going as green as possible and reducing our carbon footprint. — As expected with city living, street noises although not too loud, can be heard to a certain extend in this unit. If you’re a light sleeper, shutting the bedroom window helps but we can certainly provide you with some ear plugs if needed.
East Village is one of San Diego’s most desirable neighborhoods and is also known for it’s wide range of dining options, cafe’s, artisans, and trendy boutiques. If you like to eat or consider yourself, for lack of a better word, a “foodie”, you’re going to be very pleased with the wide range of dining options that Downtown and it Surrounding neighborhoods have to offer. There’s some seriously good food here for even the most discriminating of palates at various price points. East Village centrally located and will be a breeze to get around to other neighborhoods and attractions. It’s a 10-minute drive from the airport, just a few blocks from the Gaslamp, Petco Park and the Convention Center, and is 2-15 minutes away from popular destinations like Balboa Park, North Park, Hillcrest, Sea World, Coronado, & Pacific Beach.
  • Sami was a great host, he gave us the best recommendations to explore the city (James coffee was awesome). The place is very good located to explore San Diego. Very nice design of the condo, recommend it.

    Liliana&Eduardo2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Superb location and wonderful apartment. Jackie and Sami are very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!

    Shi2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in Gaslamp Quarter. Well equipped with great features such as quality cable and wifi. Quick uber or walk to most restaurants and attractions. Sami was very helpful in recommending quality spots and tips. Some of his recommendations became highlights of our trip.

    Brian2016-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic experience. I have not one single complaint and lots of compliments. I stayed at Sami's "Art7oft" for 5 days while I was in San Diego for a conference. It was a mere 5 minute walk from the convention center, and is close (read: walkable) to tons of stuff in the downtown/Gaslamp area of San Diego. Sami was courteous and forthcoming in his communication prior to arrival, timely in meeting me, explained his setup but didn't overwhelm me, and continued to have good communication throughout my stay -- overall a fantastic host. He even gave me a dozen or so recs on dining in the Gaslamp and greater SD area. I tried a few and the man has great taste. His condo was clean, comfortable, hassle-free, and in a nice building with other condo owners. Additionally it was (as) quiet (as downtown San Diego nighttime can be), modern, and his amenities are fantastic. Would stay again, also would recommend to others.

    Catherine & Greg2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sami was an amazing host. It was hard to find parking, but he kept an eye out for a spot when we arrived, which was a godsend because we were so tired from driving through Sunday traffic. The place was beautiful and a short drive to many points of interest. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

    Jannet2017-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay here. The apartment was in a fantastic location and had all of the amenities that I needed for a comfortable stay. It was clean, safe/secure, looked just as it does in the photos, and I felt (EMAIL HIDDEN)munication with Sami was extremely easy and check in & out was really smooth. I couldn't have asked for a better stay and would most definitely stay here again!

  • Nice place, nice neighbourhood, chill vibes.

    John2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Came to san diego for one night to see a chargers game. Very close to the game so it was perfect. Took an uber to gaslamp which was also close ($10). Comfortable bed and couch. Had everything we could need. Thank you very much!

    Melody2016-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • The area and neighborhood were fabulous. The surrounding homes were beautiful. Very cool restaurant selections within minutes by car.

    Sherry2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great value and the host where very nice. The bed was comfortable, but you had to climb in from the end. Nice space and I had not used a French Press in a long time, so I had to figure that out. I would suggest having printed directions and a timer on hand for the next user. Parking was no problem.

    Jeannie2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood was fabulous! It was a quiet neighborhood that was convenient to everything around the city. We never met Ian, but he was very responsive and communicative when we reached out to him. It was very warm in San Diego while we were there, but Ian had one fan to help cool the upstairs down. The kitchen had everything that we wished for and the rooftop deck was lovely. Thanks Ian.

    Julie and Brendan2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a special and beautiful property. Exceeded my expectations! All the amenities were great and Ian gave us our privacy. Fresh towels, linen, and sleeping bags. Beautiful view from to roof!

    Derrick2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Ian's place, and we just love it! The North Park area is great in itself plus so many parts of San Diego are easily accessible from there. Ian is a very responsive and accommodating host. We will certainly be back. Thanks again, Ian!

    Cristin2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our two days here - the house is quiet, very clean, comfortable. Ian was easy to contact and left nice little welcome surprises in the kitchen. We liked the upstairs area - the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is clean, and the overall feel was of peace and quiet. We loved the little windows open at all times to keep us cool and breezy. The kitchen is well-stocked and nicely se-up. The whole house has been refurbished recently and feels very fresh, modern and welcoming. The location is in an older neighborhood with lovely homes, very quiet, easy to get to more busy areas, museums, the zoo and other attractions. This was the perfect little getaway - thank you, Ian!

Victorian private loft apartment in Queen Ann Victorian home, Adorable 60's/70's Decor Vibe. Located in San Diego's Historical Sherman Heights district, Centrally located, 10 minutes walk to East village, 20 minute walk to Gaslamp District. Private Entrance. Ladder to Loft bedroom, Must Use Caution. Sorry but may not be the best fit for comfort for big and tall guests.
Our beautiful home is an example of a Queen Anne Victorian two-story house built inSan Diego in 1889. We converted one level of the house as two separate vacation rentals. The loft apartment bedroom is accessed by a ladder/stair that must be climbed up/down using a ladder, pictured in listing. The apartment is on the second floor accessed by an outside staircase. It is fully equipped and has a private entrance and cozy living area. This unique apartment can be your home away from home!We are a few blocks east of downtown San Diego (with free street parking) and a 5 minute drive/cab ride from the vibrant Gaslamp Quarter (on 5th Ave) where you will find great restaurants, coffee houses, bars and nightclubs. We are minutes away from Petco Park, the new baseball stadium, Convention Center, San Diego International Airport and the Santa Fe Train Station. Sherman Heights is the Historical Heart of San Diego's beginning. Many beautiful homes from the end of the nineteenth century can be seen throughout the area. It is 5 minute car ride down Market street to Gaslamp Quarter Downtown. Bus stop is 2 minutes from house.
Sherman Heights is located east of the East Village of downtown San Diego and only 10 blocks from Petco Park, the new baseball stadium for the San Diego Padres. We are just south of Golden Hill and north of Logan Heights. The neighborhood was designated a historic district by the City of San Diego in 1987. Sherman Heights consists of primarily historic homes, which border Downtown San Diego’s East village. The Downtown San Diego development boom over the last decade and its inland crawl through East Village has altered a once fading neighborhood. Today, you will see a huge movement underway in the preservation and restoration of the neighborhood. Homes and buildings are being restored back to their original character and charm. Sherman Heights is a very diverse neighborhood shifting from mainly established Latino community to a younger Hipster style crowd. Sherman Heights also hosts the annual events, the Latino Music Festival, Soap Box Derby, Open House Fair and Day of the Dead festival.
  • Our stay with Rene was great. He is a very attentive and thoughtful host. The apartment was neat and clean as pictured and described. I would recommend this listing!

    Gersende2015-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rene made us feel welcome from the first message communication inquiry! Promptly answered any inquiries and concerns throughout process and stay. Kindly accommodating to a later check in request. Place is quaint with a lot of charm and personality + some of the conveniences of home. Geographically a great location from all the hot spots in San Diego. Like any city you have good and bad areas. Being L.A. natives we never felt unsafe coming to and from our activities/destinations day or night from the loft. Enjoyed our visit!

    Francine2015-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place is part of a Victorian home that is historical and beautiful. It was a bit smaller than expected. Location is walkable, but distances to points of interest are a bit long, so we relied on lyft/uber quite a bit (which was extremely easy and convenient). Overall, a great deal for San Diego! Also, loved the water, milk and oj that was left in the fridge for us!

    Ivie2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! great location, not to far from all the great attractions in San Diego. My wife and I had a blast! Rene is an awesome host, very polite and attentive.

  • Rene was an awesome host. I could reach him at any time. His place is so cute and cozy and super clean, I loved it. The location is great and close to everything. I would recommend him for sure.

  • ONE OF A KIND. This was one of the greatest Airbnb experiences I have had. The place was perfect and better than described. I love finding unique little Airbnb's to stay at and this was one of them! Rene is a great host and the place was stocked with all the essentials that we may need! Thank you!

The bedroom contains a full/queen size bed and a long comfy couch with a TV that we can provide access to Roku with our Netflix & Amazon Prime accounts. Will also provide wifi, kitchen, and an alley parking spot that will fit a compact car 12.5 feet in length. 2 adult size bikes available for use.
Ocean Beach is an old hippie town known for it's 70's reputation. There are some great restaurants and natural wonders to experience. Such as, Sunset Cliffs which are amazing and a sight to see before eroding away. Dog Beach is just a couple blocks away as well as the longest west coast pier, which doesn't require a fishing license.
  • Kristy was a great host. The place was exactly as described. Ocean beach is a fun town with lots of restaurants and bars and we loved being 2 blocks from the beach. The beach bag and towels were a great perk. Even though it was probably the hottest weekend in San Diego we managed without having A/C at the place. We would definitely stay here again.

    Robert2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the place and Kristy! She is a very good hearted and fun person to be around. She gives you all the privacy you need but checks in sometimes to see if you need any help. The place is cute and enough for a couple to have a little of home feeling (we were travelling for over 3 weeks already). I stayed home working while my husband was doing a one week course in San Diego university. Kristy was a perfect host, even taking me out for a perfect day with Chuwey. I saw the beautiful place she lives. She lives the life we all dream off. If you are looking for a home feeling, near the beach and near restaurants, this is the place for you.

    Natalie2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kristy and Wade were super nice and helpful. They offered food suggestions and kept the communication open. The day we were checking out was the solar eclipse day and they were even kind enough to let us use some solar eclipse glasses! The place itself is cute and very clean! It's so close to the beach we just walked there a few times. The parking situation was a bummer because our car was too large to fit in their spot but luckily we kept finding a spot near the house The bed was very comfortable and they are right, the planes can be loud in the mornings. They did provide some earplugs in case you need them :) Overall, we would def stay here again!

    Kate2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot in the heart of Ocean Beach. Close proximity to many restaurants, shops, bars and only 2 blocks from the beach as well as driving to other parts of the city. Hosts were very helpful and responsive in organizing this trip. Parking is available for compact cars, which made driving easy too. Price was perfect and whenever we decide to return we will surely look this place up first. Highly recommended.

    Kevin2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed for 10 year anniversary, loved the house and the scene in OB! It's super convenient to everything. Very highly recommended!

    Nikki2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy home in a very cool neighborhood!

    Cameron2016-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in Ocean Beach. Very close to the beach and cool restaurants/bars. Certainly a more chill beach town feel than other beach town areas in SD. I would definitely stay here again. The house was cozy and comfortable, nothing too fancy, which is exactly what we were looking for!

    Chris2017-01-23T00:00:00Z

  • Its a comfortable oasis

    efrem2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • I love how tucked away this little gem is. I came for a conference and always had a peaceful retreat away from the madness. Essential: Tuesday karaoke at the Beachcomber around the block. Sang my woes away. Managed to get one of the 2 rainy days/year in San Diego and I got to hear the pitter patter of the rain on the sunroof. Thank you!

    Jacqueline2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was beautiful and exactly as expected. It is a 60 second walk to ocean or bay, and the beach is really nice. The airplane noise was very occasionally annoying, but didn't really affect my overall experience. The shower water pressure & temperature were a little finicky, but not enough to even bother mentioning while I was there. I would definitely recommend staying.

    Jeff2016-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay, steps from the bay and a walk across the street to the ocean. Very clean with beautiful woodwork that lines the entire inside. I especially loved all the natural light that was able to come in due to the architecture of the house. Doesn't feel like a studio at all, space was used very well. Neighborhood was relatively quiet and calm. I stayed with my mom and we loved every bit of the place. She especially loved sitting on the small outside patio with her coffee in the AM. Without a doubt, I will be booking again next time I need a place here.

    Jennie2014-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Zen Studio for a week for our honeymoon recently and we couldn't have picked a better place. It was gorgeous, well-furnished, and two blocks from a beautiful beach. Keyless entry means you can go for a swim without worrying about your keys being stolen. There were plenty of restaurants and corner shops a couple blocks down the road, and Belmont park is a short walk away. The bed was extremely comfortable, which is so hard to find when you travel! Also, minimal interaction with the hosts makes it feel as though the place is your own, coming and going as you please. We had a fantastic time buying steaks from the Pacific Beach farmer's market and grilling them up on the patio. Seriously, we've both been dreaming about going back since we left. Stay here if you have the means!

This well designed studio is located in one of the most sought after neighborhoods in San Diego - Mission Hills. Surrounded by canyons with private entry and quiet patio. Only a couple of blocks away from great dining, grocery stores and shopping.
This beautiful canyon studio apartment "the Roost" designed by an architect and interior designer offers a quiet peaceful setting, yet it is close to all San Diego's popular destinations, such as Balboa Park, Hillcrest, Little Italy, Downtown, Old Town, the beaches, the Zoo, Sea World and Coronado, all just a mere 10 minutes or less away. Relax on the patio with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and enjoy the birds and the zen setting. The kitchen is small, but well equipped to make simple meals. The kitchen has a small refrigerator/freezer, microwave, two single portable induction cooktops, hot water boiler, toaster and the choice of a French press, or a Nespresso machine for coffee lovers. We will try to leave you fresh eggs from our chickens, although in the fall and winter they do not lay many eggs. If you prefer to eat out, some of San Diego's popular restaurants such as Brooklyn Girl, the Red Door, the Patio, Farmers Bodega, Lefty's Pizza or Harley Grey's are just around the corner. Starbucks, Meshuggah Shack, Heartwork Coffee Bar, Kettle and Stone and other coffee places are just a couple of blocks away as well.
Mission Hills is one of the most central located neighborhoods in San Diego. Most attractions (Balboa Park with many museums, the Zoo, Sea World, the Ball Park and Fashion Valley) and popular neighborhoods (Old Town, Little Italy, Downtown, South Park, North Park, Hillcrest, Coronado, Point Loma, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and La Jolla) are less than a 15 minute drive away.
  • We had a delightful stay in Chuck and Yvonne's studio. They are extremely friendly and welcoming, fun to chat with. The place is so clean, private and tastefully decorated with a European feel. The neighborhood is very quiet and the view from the French doors and patio, along with the chickens, gives a sense of being far from the city. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking and there were fresh eggs waiting for us as well as a bottle of wine , which was especially welcome after some glitches with our travel. Yvonne gave us directions for accessing the key in case they were not home at the time we arrived. It's very quick to reach from the airport and easy to find. We're so glad we chose this place!

    Charles & Marilyn2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • 11 out of 10, off the scale! This is what AirBnB is all about. Yvonne and Chuck, kindred travelers themselves, are ideal hosts offering a warm genuine welcome and an excellent stay. They are immediate friends. It's probably in the best location to stay in San Diego, just off Washington Ave., which leads to everywhere. The restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood are among the best in the city. As for the room, the pictures tell it all, such a beautiful tranquil setting. Awesome hosts, awesome place, excellent location. Thank you, hope to be back soon!

    todd2015-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck and Yvonne are great communicators throughout the process from reservations to checking in. They supplied us with plenty of information, phone numbers, and directions. We were welcomed with a delicious bottle of wine. Nice after a long drive through the desert to get there!

  • Great place to stay while in San Diego! Really convenient to jump on the 5 and head to work. Walking distance to lots of great shops and restaurants. Chuck and Yvonne made staying here really easy and had everything on hand that you could want (not to mention free eggs from the chickens)! Checking in was really seamless and I felt right at home. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • If you do only one thing in California ... YOU MUST STAY HERE! Currently lay in bed on our final morning looking at the beautiful and serene gardens sipping Nespresso wondering if we could stay just a few more days. Yvonne, Chuck and their beautiful family are the perfect hosts - they gave us their beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrella yesterday for our day in Coronada, invited us in for wine and beer and even gave us a lift downtown. They have all the local knowledge and gave us great recommendations for both restaurants and things to do. Can't praise them enough for their warmth and friendliness. The place is everything you could want... Comfiest bed ever Peaceful Private balcony Great sized kitchen with Nespresso Coffee Machine Wet room Use of laundry room Chocolates and bottle of wine upon arrival Great view over the valley I don't normally write reviews this quickly, but in this case I had to make an exception.

  • This is a beautifully appointed private apartment in a quiet neighborhood. It's within walking distance of many good restaurants and a short drive from all other attractions. It is very true to the description on the site. We would love to stay there again sometime.

    Laura2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful studio in a great part of San Diego that's close to everything. Accommodations were better than advertised and a wonderful place to stay.

    Brendan2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Yvonne and Chuck made us feel very welcome and introduced us to their amazing studio. It's a truly unique place, secluded and welcoming, with a great patio overlooking the valley. The place had everything we needed to live comfortably and more (fresh eggs from their own chickens!) and both my girlfriend and I slept very well in the comfortable bed. Another big plus is the location, with walking distance to a great deal of restaurants and bars. Would gladly stay here again!

  • Rachel's apartment felt like a home away from home. Everything was tidy, and the aparment beautiful. Location also perfect, in the heart of Little Italy with many amazing restaurants nearby. Rachel was an attentive host and made us feel welcome in her home. I would stay here again if I ever travel to San Diego again!

    Julia2016-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great week spent at Rachel's apartment in Little Italy. Lovely area with a farmers market at the weekend as well as restaurants and bars, and a well equipped apartment for an easy stay.

    Amy2016-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the apartment was fabulous! Two blocks from the green line so navigating San Diego was easy. Harbor cafe is a great place for breakfast. Apartment was clean, well stocked and very cool with the window air conditioners. We met Rachel at her wonderful weaving shop downstairs. Little Italy is the best place to stay in San Diego!

    Lavena2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Rachel's place in San Diego. The apartment is very clean and beautifully decorated. The location is ideal, and just like many other reviews here, the breakfast/lunch downstairs at Harbor cafe is amazing. You really are in the middle of everything here and the waterfront is only a couple of blocks away, an easy walk. There is also a great kids playground on the waterfront. Apartment is nice and spacious with plenty of room for a young family. Thanks for having us, Rachel.

    Olivia2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We so enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect- we were able to explore, walk to and eat many amazing meals. Our three nights was perfect. We especially loved the loft with beautiful natural light and the cozy bed. Hope to be back!!

    Amy2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We (2 friends) spent 4 nights around Thanksgiving in Rachel's spacious place, and loved it. It's ideally located, with great Italian restaurants nearby and a useful parking spot behind the building. We loved our breakfast time preparing for the day of sightseeing, and enjoyed being able to get back after dinner and sleep in separate beds, one downstairs, and the other in the mezzanine upstairs. Everything, decoration included, is as pictured, and Rachel was charming, making sure we were happy and confortable. We could not have made a better choice!

    claudia2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This house was lovely! Right in the heart of everything which made parking a little tricky. There is one spot available, but the parking lot was jammed full of other people parked illegally. Rachel was more than helpful when I called offering a bunch of solutions so we could park. The house has AC in both bedrooms which is great for summer nights. We would absolutely stay again!

    Taylor2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's place was exactly as described. She was extremely detailed in explaining the unit, arrival instructions, parking and offered great insights into the surrounding neighborhood. What we loved most about the place was the location which could not have been better for enjoying all that San Diego (and especially Little Italy) has to offer. This spot comes highly recommended to anyone seeking a great getaway to San Diego!

This is the cheapest way to stay in the hippest part of town in San Diego in a completely over-the-top concrete urban loft! Art, Design, High End luxury and amenities are showcased here just a few steps to the San Diego's finest restaurants, clubs, parks, waterfront, Convention Center and convention mega-hotels. This loft would rent for over $750 per night, but we make it completely affordable by renting out just the private bedroom/bathroom that is just inside the main entry door to the loft.
AWESOME LOCATION. One Block from the Trolley Stop gives you instant and very quick access to the Convention Center, Downtown, Petco Park and many attractions here in San Diego. Steps outside the door in this stunning Little Italy Artists Loft is about 60 restaurants and coffee houses right in the heart of the greatest neighborhood in San Diego. Steps from Broadway Pier and the Harbor front, this is truly one of the most desireable places in San Diego to live, work, stay and play. This is an over the top, stunning urban artist loft loaded with design and luxury amenities. This rental is for a very comfortable, very conveniently located room only inside the owners concrete loft. The owner and his 11 year old son live in the upstairs loft area and use the common space that is not shared with guests (except for use of microwave, filtered water in kitchen). You have your own private room with cement walls, and a large bathroom right outside your door for your exclusive use that includes a "Smart Toilet" washlet and bidet system. All accented with glam slate tiles in beautiful copper, bronze, and jade metallic colors. The entire home is 1650 square feet and is exquisitely and artistically designed in a very modern and contemporary urban setting. This is perfect for someone who wants a safe, modern and luxurious space on the cheap that is going to a conference downtown or otherwise enjoying a holiday and all that San Diego has to offer. You will be given a physical key and fob to the front unit through a self check-in system. Your security deposit is instantly refundable when you give these back, and is kept if you fail to return them. There's a very dramatic patio that you can use where you can overlook the breathtaking beauty of the San Diego Bay. The room and the bathroom is yours and located right by the front entrance door for easy access coming and going. You are welcome to utilize the microwave or fresh filtered water/ice and the patio, but otherwise, you have a choice of about 60 or 70 amazing restaurants and coffee houses just a few steps outside the door. This is like living in Manhattan with a San Diego style and artistic edge: everything is right here! The condo's owner Sam and his 11 year old son live a very full and busy life and likely will not have a lot of interaction with our guests, but when there is, I can guarantee it will be very friendly and comfortable for all! Check out (URL HIDDEN) to see why this condo located in the heart of Little Italy is likely the best location of any AirBnB in San Diego! Without doubt, this is the safest, most scenic, most "happening" neighborhood in all of San Diego with so much to walk to and to do, you are literally in the heart of everything! The Amtrak and the Trolley are a couple blocks away. Downtown is a 1/2 mile away. The convention center is just a couple stops down or a 28 minute walk, or an 8 minute drive. Everything in Little Italy is walkable (literally right out the door) and most activities are a short Uber drive from Little Italy. We do provide an underground parking space which alone is a $40 value! This is a non-smoking home. There are no kitchen privledges outside of the microwave and fresh filtered and iced water that is available to you. Best of all, you will breathe easy when you stay here as I've got 2 hospital grade air filtration systems to completely filter every bit of air every 2 hours. The entire modern loft is made out of concrete, providing a solid, secure and quiet private space for you. (Note: there is a train that passes right behind the house, but is not heard in the room unless the window is left open)I believe that THE BED is the single most important part of your stay, so I've purchased a new PuraSleep 10" thick medium comfort level: Medium Firmness (4 to 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the firmest). PuraSleep products are designed to cradle your body in luxurious conforming comfort. Dual layered comfort and support with 2.5” top layer of high density 3.5 lb. microgel bead infused memory foam provides the ultimate in enhanced cooling, conforming to your body shape for luxurious comfort. This is an perfect fit for someone who is attending a conference at any of the nearby hotels (Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt) or Convention Center. It's a very private room and bathroom that is right upon entering the loft, so you are a bit separated from the Father/Son family that lives here with 2 cats. We try our best, but cannot promise quiet after 6:30 am as the nanny is here, my boy is getting ready for school and it's possible you might hear that until 7:10 am.
Located in the heart of Little Italy, San Diego's "SOHO" arts district, you are completely surrounded with dozens and dozens of things to do within walking distance. You can even walk downtown or to the Horton Plaza Shopping Center. Our building is in the heart of the annual "Festa" Italian Festivals as well as San Diego's beloved "ArtWalk" event in April. We are 2 blocks from the Harbor Front where you can dine, jog, and take a look at the many cruise ships that pull into port, right in front of our window here.
  • The best location you could have whilst staying in San Diego. Thanks Sam for having us!

    Mario & Francesca2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • For the parking garage spot in the heart of Little Italy alone, this listing is amazing. Throw in the super fancy OVE toilet and maybe the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, this will be my go-to spot whenever I am in San Diego.

  • I’ve been Airbnbing for a while, but never have I ever seen such a luxurious and stylish apartment such as Sam’. The check in is easy and Sam is a great host, knowing the best areas in the neighborhood. I would recommend everyone to stay at Sams place, it really is an experience.

    Benjamin2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • You can't beat the location! We really enjoyed the beautiful patio and view of the harbor. Sam was very accommodating. We really enjoyed our trip!

    Jennifer2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's place is perfect for anyone wanting to stay in the heart of "Little Italy" in San Diego. The building is very upscale and modern. You use a key-fob to enter the building and there is free underground parking for your stay - a real benefit for the area. I highly recommend and would stay here again.

  • Our stay with Margo was great and she was a helpful host. We took her advice on some nice spots to go to in the area and really enjoyed San Diego as a result. Our check-in was the only snag but this was mainly due to us being late from our delayed flight. Only downfall is the fact that ants were all over the room, minus the bed. Desk, nightstand, floor - all had ants on it which got on/in our personal items. Overall review - good place to stay if you don't get skeeved out by that stuff. Thanks Margo!

    Ryan2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Margo's place was very comfortable. I had a wonderful stay. Her dogs, Tasha and Jack, were the sweetest and gentlest dogs. I loved when they were around. Margo was very helpful with tips, including nearby places to eat. Thanks, Margo, for a lovely stay!

    Susan2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • It has been an exciting stay at Margo's, in the red room. Everything is thought of (definitely enough pillows for example) for the guest to be able to fully relax and enjoy the time. The place is cozy and filled with memories, it's very clean and has all amenities needed. Margo is super friendly and helpful at all times. She is communicative, provides information and hints for the area. I would recommend this place to everyone who gets to visit San Diego, it is easy to get to places and parking is available. It was perfect for my weekend trip!

  • Staying with Margo was wonderful! She was a fantastic host, and we recommend staying here to anyone and everyone! The house was so charming, and it was so nice to have snack and breakfast options included. Thanks for everything, Margo!

    Kelly2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Margo's was absolutely pleasant and comfortable. I was on a short trip (less than 12 hours) for an interview and she kindly let me leave my bag at her place while I interviewed at 11:30am. She was very friendly, absolutely caring, and such a remarkable person to get to know. Place was very clean and organized! She was easy to reach, always helpful, and gave great spots for places to eat! Store was conveniently across the street (bought myself a lovely guilt free pint of ice cream there). Loved my stay here. When I come back, I plan to book with her again! Thank you Margo for making me feel right at home! PS; her dog, Jack, was so friendly!! Totally adorable and loving! He didn't bark and was very well behaved! The other dog of Margo's wasn't there, so I unfortunately didn't get to see him/her, but I'm sure the dog is well behaved and friendly as well!

    Alyssa2016-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoy staying with Margo. There are a lot of good restaurants and bars around the house. The house is very comfortable and clean, feel like live in Disney land. Margo is very friendly, give us a lot of help with laundry and tourism information. We had a lot of fun with dogs.

    Fei2015-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Staying with Margo has been one of the best parts of my West Coast travels! The house is wonderful! The breakfast she provides in the morning is healthy and plentiful. I'm not normally a big dog person but her dogs are lovely! Very well behaved and plain adorable! Margo herself is a brilliant woman. She goes out of her way to make you feel at home and ensure you get the best out of your time in San Diego. I went to an air bnb and have now made a dear friend. I cannot recommend staying at Margo's enough!

A bus stop one block from the house, and everything is pretty much 5 to 15 minutes from home by car. This is a quiet residential neighborhood and after 10pm we keep the noise level down. The closest touristic area are Old Town, and Sea World. We love that we live 10 minutes from down town and from the airport as we travel a lot.
  • We had a great stay at Violet and Bill's they were very accommodating and made sure all our questions were answered. The suite was a very good size along with the master bath. It was very generous of Violet and Bill to arrange the fireworks every night that we could see from our balcony (actually you can see the Seaworld fireworks from the room which is a bonus). The home is very central to Everything San Diego has to offer..make sure you check out Luce resturant a short distance and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) search away. Jim and Wendy

  • This was our first time staying at an AirBNB and we were a little nervous what to expect. Well we couldn't ask for a better experience! Violet and Bill were amazing. Their home is beautiful and our room was great! I can't think of anything that was wrong. Their home is centrally located easy access to all main freeways. The bed was so comfortable. I love to iron my clothes and she had a very nice iron..made my day :). I could go on and on. Loved our stay!! Spoiled and Violet set the bar high. Definitely will return on our next trip to San Diego!!!

  • Voilet and Bill's home provided us a very relaxing and spacious place to stay. We enjoyed our breakfast on the balcony every morning after a very comfortable sleep and the pool was a great place to cool off from the afternoon sun. We were provided with everything that we needed and Voilet and Bill were very responsive to our questions even though they were away during our stay. We would highly recommend their place.

  • Violet was so welcoming upon our late arrival. The room was more than expected with the highest level of detail. We're so glad we opted for their space. You're able to enjoy the relaxing outdoor area in addition to the balcony overlooking the bay. The location is quiet and convenient to all of San Diego. Will definitely be back when we're in the area. Thank you Violet & Bill!

    Lindsey & William2015-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • As always violet and bill are welcoming. I will continue to be a repeat customer as long as they let me.

  • Violet and Bill's Master Suite was a large, lovely lodging which we enjoyed greatly over two nights recently. We found the location (east of Mission Bay) to be very handy for us. Nice view of Mission Bay. As promised in their listing, close by parking was a breeze. It was very close to Luce, where we had an excellent Sunday brunch. We didn't avail ourselves of their pool, the kitchen or their complementary minibar but certainly would have had we been able to stay a bit longer. Will definitely consider staying with them again when we're in the SD area.

    Douglas2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Violet and Bill were very accommodating and proactive about meeting our needs. The room is on the second floor. Spacious and clean. Bathroom was big and gorgeous. Big tv with cable channels. Wifi wasn't the best for streaming movies, but there was so much to do in the city it wasn't a problem. There was another guest staying in the room across from us, but noise was minimal. Violet and Bill stayed downstairs and gave us lots of privacy. It was a great trip.

  • This cottage is PERFECT for a nice getaway. we drove down from Seattle and did not have to get back into our car once to have a wonderful time. That being said, we did drive to the Old Town Mexican Café which I highly recommend! Access to the suite was easy and everything we needed for 5 nights was provided. I recommend this place for a family or for two people sharing a room. Where the pull out queen bed was comfy and well situated the unit itself is quite a tight space so be sure you truly love your couchmate! 6 thumbs up from all three of us. we will be returning for sure.

We love having explorers from all over the world to bring good energy into the art studio! If you are an experienced camper, you'll be so happy here. Please read every word of the description, especially if you are not a camper, we have a camper toilet, not a flush toilet. Someday, the world will not be able to sustain flushing drinking water into a sewer. The Art Studio has a light footprint on the earth! Runs on solar, has efficient heater, small water tank, induction plate, Southern windows.
Nestled in South/North Park, a gentrified neighborhood, the Art Studio Retreat is on a quarter acre canyon lot which is lovingly maintained with lots of places to read and rest. It was designed for "Green conscious" travelers and "glampers" people who camp .If you are not a camper, read on very carefully. Many guests have said that "the studio called to me". And it does! It was handmade with a lot of love and good vibes, to be a healing & creative space. It is cozy, romantic and serene. The rustic cabin is self-contained with all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay : kitchenette,WIFI, induction heating burner w/pot and pan, cooking utensils, toaster oven, toaster, microwave, mini-frig, french press coffee maker, water heater, George Forman grill, clothesline, big art sink, electric heater, soaps & toiletries and hair dryer; twinkly lights inside and out, a porch, a patio and a pool! A queen size bed with comforters, a 4" foam topper, big blankets, fresh sheets and towels. Or take an outside shower with colored light-head generated by the water ! It is a one of a kind place. "It feels like I'm home," our guests tell us a lot. Remember, it has a camping toilet, not a flush toilet. The water from the cabin drains right onto the plants! The electricity runs off our solar house panels. The cabin has a small but fast electric hot water heater; most basic composting toilet called "Loveable Loo" uses no water (see YouTube) and we compost it. Mexican Chiminea fireplace for romantic nighttime fires, tree-house effect in the city; and all with a friendly yoga teacher, Jean, who specializes in working with cancer patients and does cancer advocacy work. Chris is a retired social worker, open-ocean swimmer, gardener, and photography buff. We enjoy our guests and are just friendly people. We seem to attract the best guests on the planet!!! Our quaint city neighborhood is centrally located, about 2 miles to the Zoo and Balboa Park, and full of nightlife, local micro-breweries, wine tasting bars, colorful pubs, artist lofts, The Big Kitchen (split a meal), homemade ice cream, fresh scones by Rebecca, Ginseng Yoga Studio, 24 hr gas station, independent grocers, weekly Farmer's Market on Thursdays, and a walkable neighborhood with everything you need! Bus line #2 a short walk away and takes you downtown. All major freeways within 2 miles. This one-of-a-kind place is for the adventurous, creative life-loving, soul seekers, artist type, nature-lover, and unique traveler!! Earth-lover, if that's you, you'll have a great vacation at the Art Studio Retreat and its garden!! We've had incredibly accomplished guests, artists and holistic practitioners, hikers, bicyclists, scientists and writers who have sent their friends & family. We appreciate their trust in us and are grateful for it. Europeans especially love our Art Studio Retreat! Campers think they've found Nirvana! We are listed under GLAMPERS (glamorous camping) on Airbnb. People who camp are very comfortable in small quarters and big nature. If you are not a camper, you might not enjoy what the Art Studio. ******We are a recommended destination and work hard to maintain our rating.******* If you like hotel chains and standard motels, you might look elsewhere. We want you to have a fabulous experience with us and Airbnb!!! Thanks for your interest!! Safe travels!! Blessings!! We love our eclectic neighborhood, with a small town feel and all the funky locally owned places that wouldn't be found in suburan areas. We think the Big Kitchen is a blast from the past! Our locally homemade family ice cream is the bomb! We have some incredible resturants within walking distance! Rebecca's Cafe has the best scones, anywhere! Tex-Mex restaurants, great homemade Italian and a Chocolate place!!
  • This is a sweet space. A rustic studio cabin set back in a quiet residential yard with plenty of mature shade trees and casual landscaping. The french doors open to a wraparound patio with a view of the garden. A lovely spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. The futon is comfortable and the kitchenette fully equipped. The hot water in the shower runs out a little quickly for my tastes, but nothing that can't be planned for. Lots of privacy. I'd definitely stay here again.

  • Chris and Jean really go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. The cozy outhouse is located in a luxuriously large backyard that has a pool! The eco friendly toilet made for a very memorable experience. Parking is plentiful on the street. Great hosts!

    Henry2011-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. I could not have had a better experience. Chris & Jean were overly accommodating and the space was exactly what I wanted. My stay exemplified all the reasons airBnb is far more than an alternative, and nothing short of a revolution in hospitality. 1. This cost less than a hotel and my money went to two beautiful members of the local SD community. 2. I made a personal connection with Chris & Jean, which I have never done with any hotel employee in 10 years of traveling the US. 3. The space was exactly as described, unpainted walls, compostable toilet, privacy, palm trees and friendly dogs. It felt like home.

    Bishop2012-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Jean and Chris were the most amazing hosts. They were very available (Jean even offered us rides during our trip and explained the history of the city along the way), yet they respected our privacy. The cabin is perfect and has everything you need (especially comfort and peace). Don't miss your chance to go visit Jean and Chris while you're in San Diego!

    Raphaelle2012-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend Jean and Chris's studio enough- they re lovely and the studio is a balm for the soul.

  • The art retreat was an amazing and unique experience, and the story behind this project is inspiring. Chris and Jean are two of the greatest people I've met; so friendly and full of energy! Their dog Balto is also a sweetheart. Being a recent SD transplant my boyfriend and I are so happy we've meat Chris and Jean and made our first friends :)

    Kellie2013-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to spend our five days in San Diego! This is truly a retreat - peaceful and comforting, such good energy here. We so appreciated the privacy and having our own table to enjoy our take-out food on! The bed was comfortable, the house was clean and well-stocked and the location couldn't have been better - close to the park, the university and downtown, but in a wonderful neighborhood walkable to South Park shops. Chris and Jean, you were the perfect hosts. We only wish we could have had time for more conversations! We hope to stay with you again!

    Elizabeth2014-07-01T00:00:00Z

  • Kate was a very nice hostess. The room was small but very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The house was centrally located and many restaurants were not to far away.

  • The place is great. I really just needed a place to sleep, but the place felt very comfortable and I enjoyed the stay.

    Alexander2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place was great. Although I didn't get to meet her, we stayed in constant contact and she was immediately responsive. The room was as advertized and even had a personalized welcome sign waiting when I arrived - very classy. The parking situation was pretty good compared to the rest of San Diego. And the rest of the people in the house were very nice and friendly. Definately worth staying at and you can't beat the price.

You will wake up to morning chirping from the birds with a panoramic view of the sunrise in the canyon on the wrap around deck. The outdoor shower is nothing less than therapeutic and an experience within itself! Lovely area for photos as well. Just a romantic little getaway - can't wait to go back!

  • The cottage was such a treat. It was relaxing, well equipped and beautiful. Upon arrival the room was filled with fresh air, a lovely scent, and sprigs of lavender. It was such a peaceful little room. And the views, could not get enough of the views. We chose to just stay in and relax on our first night in SD, because this bnb was that relaxing. The shower, was literally the best part. Also, what a sweet and cute little family!

    Willie2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Such a sweet, lovely, special place! Everything was warm & welcoming from start to finish. Wonderful hosts, cozy cottage, nice getaway!

  • We decided to stay for one night after watching SIA perform at Viejas Arena. The Lyft ride round trip was less than $15. The Cottage was quaint, clean, and beautiful. Just enough space for the 2 of us and the view off the porch is gorgeous.

  • This is the perfect place if you want to enjoy the beauty of southern California. There is an amazing porch with a great view and an incredibly cool outdoor shower with flowers growing in it - it is absolutely amazing. Perfect place to stay if you want to sit on a porch and drink a glass of wine. While not downtown, it is easy to get to the interstate it is under a 30 minute drive to anywhere you would want to go in San Diego area. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Perfect spot and great host, we could not have been happier with this delightful home-away-from-home.

    janet2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed this place. It was modern and comfortable and the bed was perfect. The owners had great communication and the neighborhood felt safe.

    Bridgett2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The listing photos and descriptions are perfectly accurate! The guest house is as charming, neat, and clean as it appears in the pictures. The private outdoor space was very much appreciated, the bed was comfortable, and bathroom/shower were very clean and well functioning. The kitchen area had everything we needed (silverware, plates, cups, microwave, refrigerator) and MORE. My husband and I were much more comfortable than we would have been in a hotel and found the location to be perfect- we were an easy Uber ride away from everything that we did including trips to Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach. Also very close to the airport! Would stay there agin if we have the chance! Also hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with through the AirBnB app.

    Erica2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house was our first Airbnb experience and it was better than expected. The guest house was beautifully decorated. Had everything we needed and so close to so many things we wanted to see during our stay. Although we didn't get a chance to meet them in person. They were always quick to respond to any questions we had during our stay. They even noticed we left something behind and made sure to contact us to arrange shipping to return it. We had such a good time. My girlfriend and I didn't want to leave. We highly recommend the guest house and hope to return in the future.

    Brett2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend for travelers looking for a clean, nicely decorated, and centrally located place. My husband and I stayed here for about a week and loved that it was walking distance or a short uber to just about everything we wanted to do. Every morning we were able to walk to a different coffee shop and stroll through balboa park. We walked to all the museums, great restaurants (Cucina Urbana, Craft and Commerce, Ketners exchange, Donut Bar), Ballast Point Brewery, the trolley station (which we took to Tijuana and would highly recommend), and the movie theatre. Ubers to Old Town, Sunset Cliffs, Coronado island ferry, and Ocean Beach were all under $10. So if you like to walk, no need for a rental car while staying here. We also appreciated little things about the space such as: the private porch, kitchen supplies which made cooking meals at home easy, provided bathroom toiletries, and proximity to a laundry mat. Overall, we really enjoyed the space and it surpassed our expectations

    Caitlin2017-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place was even better than the photos, we loved it for our stay. Super clean and cute and had everything we needed. Thanks for having us!

  • This little house is perfect for a quick stay in San Diego! Yola & Cachaulo were easy to communicate with and provide everything that you might need during your stay. The house is definitely tiny like they say, but each square foot is used in the best possible way. Thank you for a wonderful little sanctuary during our stay!

  • The Casita at North Park is a gem. Seth and Dorit were perfect hosts - communicative, friendly, and very hands-off. The casita itself is perfectly clean and cozy, the setting is really lovely, and the location is nearly unbeatable. You can get anywhere from there in almost no time. We loved staying there and would absolutely book with them again.

    Layla2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay, the location was perfect for everything we wanted to see in San Diego. Seth and Dorit's place had all the essentials and was cozy and comfortable, perfect for the getaway trip that we planned. We have already begun recommending this one to our friends!

    Jeffrey2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Such sweet people! Seth and Dorit went above and beyond to make sure our stay was nice the entire time we were there. The Casita is clean, well decorated, and the perfect size for two! We enjoyed staying in such a cute neighborhood walking distance from great restaurants. We came and went from the beach, which is about a 15 to 20 minute drive away. The coffee shop Coffee and Flowers was a real hit with us and is a short walk from Seth and Dorit's place. Overall, wonderful stay! We'd recommend to anyone!

    Carly 2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely recommend this cute quiet guest house. Close to Northpark shops and street parking available.

    Olivia2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was nothing short of perfect. Not only was the location quiet, but central to nightlife and very close to the Zoo and Balboa Park. Seth and Dorit provided fantastic communication! I would definitely recommend. 5 Stars!

  • We had the most amazing stay at Greg's place. It was quiet, immaculate, quaint and cozy. It was easy to get to and in a great location. We will definitely stay here again next time we return to San Diego. Thank you so much for your hospitality Greg! We truly enjoyed it! Sincerely, Jennifer & Jeff

    Jennifer2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and cozy home, inside and out! The owners and host were very friendly and helpful as well.

    Katherine2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Greg had his wife were very hospitable when it came to me staying at there place during my visit to San Diego. Even though there were some internet issues, it was out of Greg's control due to the fact that it was the providers issue and not his. He was very in touch with communicating with me every step of the way trying to get the issue resolved. The location is perfect as well for San Diego. Many great eateries around this location as well as places to visit. I would definitely stay at this place again if/when I visit San Diego again.

    Terry2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • From the time of booking until the end of our stay, Greg was super helpful and accommodating to our needs. The house itself is well-kept, clean, and comfortable. We had all the amenities we needed. We would definitely rebook when we return to San Diego!

    Ann2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, wonderful place to stay!

    Gail2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Greg wasn't there to greet us but we sure felt welcome! It was better in real life than the pictures make it out to be! There was a welcome/thank you card for us and there were complimentary snacks and also everything was easy to find and navigate! We went for a late night walk our last night there and I must say, the neighboring was really nice and quiet. There was just the right amount of lighting in the streets where we didn't feel like we were in the spotlight and it wasn't very dark. Our 15 minute stroll turned into a 1 hour walk down Adams St.

    Mario2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at this Airbnb and it won't be the last!! I absolutely love the perks that come with this house and Greg, Adam, and Holly are amazing and extremely accommodating as well. The house is super clean and quiet so if you're looking for a little get away this is the one. If I could give the place an overall 6 stars I would!

    Lauren2016-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a fun little place. We loved being able to walk around the neighborhood and be entertained and feel safe. The home is adorable and so clean and ready for us as guests. Feels very private and easy to come and go. Greg was a great communicator and helpful.

Private, studio guest cottage located behind a historic home in Banker's Hill! Walking distance to Balboa Park (15 museums, Old Globe Theatre, IMAX), the San Diego Zoo, Little Italy, farmer's market, restaurants, downtown, and more!
Cute, studio guest cottage located behind a historic home in Banker's Hill! This private, studio guest cottage is perfect for a single guest or a couple or 2 close friends. The cottage is located behind the historic Zundelowitz house built in 1894. The cottage has a full size bed, a sofa, a small bathroom with shower as well as a kitchenette equipped for simple cooking (2-burner cooktop, microwave, sink, small fridge, and basic supplies). The studio is small, less than 400 sqft, but provides the basics and is a cozy, private space with no shared walls. The cottage and adjacent private patio with gas grill are separated from the main house by a privacy fence. Wifi: Free high speed wireless internet access available. TV: There is a TV with Apple TV only. You may log into your Hulu, Netflix, HBO etc. accounts. (No cable or local TV stations) Parking: Only street parking is available, but you can typically find a spot within a block or two. There are no parking restrictions, street cleanings, or permits required anywhere nearby. We often host couples with one small child. Pack and play and high chair available. Please note there is no air conditioning in the Studio Cottage. This is not uncommon in San Diego and most days it's not needed. There are a few fans available to provide extra airflow or white noise as desired.
The studio cottage is situated in Banker's Hill, an affluent and historical neighborhood in central San Diego immediately north of downtown. It is a pedestrian friendly neighborhood with a walk score of 91. A diverse array of coffee shops and restaurants are located within walking distance of the house as well as several convenience stores and small markets. Our guests frequently express interest in San Diego's vibrant craft beer scene and the Studio Cottage has several tasting room/bar options somewhat close by. Let us know if you're interested in recommendations. Balboa Park (just four blocks east of the house) boasts many of San Diego's museums, parks and gardens, the Cabrillo Bridge, bike paths, hiking trails and the San Diego Zoo. The famous San Diego Zoo is accessible by car or foot (approx 15-20 minute walk). Many beaches (Ocean Beach, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and Coronado Island) and Seaworld are only about 10 minutes away by car. Little Italy is a half a mile southwest of the property featuring many upscale, authentic Italian restaurants. The famous Gaslamp Quarter features almost endless dining, shopping, and nightlife options is approx 1 mile to the south. Downtown San Diego also features the family friendly Seaport Village and Waterfront Park with sweeping views of the San Diego Bay. Hillcrest is just a ten to fifteen minute walk north (or 5 minutes by car) and features many eclectic restaurants and gay bars. Along with the more well known San Diego attractions, the immediate neighborhood boasts several canyon hiking trails and hidden gems for you to discover such as several unique pedestrian bridges. You many also enjoy the many beautiful, historic homes located in Banker's Hill.
  • The studio was well equipped and spotless. It is in a great location for walking to Hillcrest and Balboa park and parking was no problem. Yola was friendly and super responsive, we had a great stay!

    Katie2014-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A cool Appartement. Good Location close to everything. Very useful to have a car. The place was very clean, private and just the way we expected. The patio is nice and you can have a great bbq. Unfortenately the gas was empty at our stay. But besides that a great place to stay. The communication was very professionell and an good overview of the close surrondings is provided.

    Simon2015-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to lodge us in San Diego. The location was perfect. It's a nice neighborhood and walking distance to everything you could need. We also had a car and found it really easy to find parking in a street nearby. The place was very clean and well stocked. It had everything vacationers might need: face clothes, towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner, hair blower, iron, and even coffee. We also enjoyed having breakfast and playing a game of darts in the courtyard. Although we didn't get to see Yola, communication was easy and quick. You can tell that the hosts are very attentive to their guests. We would definitely come back.

    Marie2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I came to San Diego to run in the Rock n Roll Half Marathon, and we're so glad we found Yola's studio. This was the perfect homebase for our stay in San Diego! Gorgeous, clean, airy space with everything you'd need, great privacy, lots of sunlight, and friendly neighbours. Awesome location too - about a 15 minute drive to the stunning Pacific Beach (ps make sure you rent a bike and cycle up to La Jolla - wow!) and walking distance to Balboa Park. Walking distance to downtown too, and close to the airport. Really can't go wrong as there's something to do in every direction! We opted to use car2go instead of renting a vehicle during our stay, and we had no problem finding them in the area. For groceries, we found the Bi-Rite Market on 1st Ave the most convenient (about a three block walk), but there's lots of amazing restaurants nearby as well! Absolutely loved this airbnb and would definitely recommend :)

    Krysten2015-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very well designed small space and convenient location to airport, Balboa Park and the Gaslight district. Check in was easy. Our only complaint was noise- temps in the area were warm, necessitating leaving windows open. The home is so close to the airport that there is a lot of jet noise. There were also chickens/roosters right next to the house that were loud every morning for at least an hour.

    Lisa2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The listing is accurate and the location is convenient.

  • I didn't get to meet Cachaulo and Yolanda, but they always responded to my messages and even checked in with me during my stay. The location of the cottage is a perfect distance from the city. Uber to the gaslamp is about 5-10 dollars. The room is really comfortable and quaint. It was a bit hot during our stay as it was humid in SD. So there isn't a/c, but they do have a ceiling fan and a couple fans to keep you cool. Shampoo and body wash was already provided, as so was clean towels. Our Internet stopped working, but there was backup Internet provided. Getting in and out of the cottage was easy peasy. Also they let me book SUPER early for comic con and a lot of other hosts didn't. So I'm really glad we stayed here. :)

  • We had a great time in San Diego and Violet and Bill were the perfect hosts. The room and the house were really beautiful, just like a spot in paradise. The location is really good, close to the bay area and also the beach or the city center is only a few minutes away if you use Uber which also was really cheap and convenient. Everything we could have needed they provided and when we had questions they were very helpful and gave us useful tips. We really felt at home and welcomed and Violet and Bill always wanted to make our time as pleasant as possible. We are happy that we had the opportunity to stay at a place like this and recommend it to everyone.

    Lukas2015-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Violet and Bill are great hosts, the house is perfect and the room has everything you need. We couldn't have afsked for more. Violet even put out homemade corn bread and cookies for us. Better hosts are hard to come by.

    Sara2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • How do I describe Violet and Bill's place...AWESOME! Great set up. Private bedroom with an amazing bathroom with steam shower. House is beautiful. Backyard is even more so. I'll definitely be staying there again if they'll have me.

    Bob2014-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was great staying with Violet and Bill. They really made us feeling home. The room was very clean and very cosy. I would highly recommend to stay in their house.

    Claudia2015-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! Violet is very kind and friendly, their house is just lovely.

    Linda2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Bill and Violets home. The room is so nice and clean and spacious. Unfortunetly we didn't met Bill and Violet in Person but nevertheless Violet was so caring and er stayed in contact by texting over Airbnb. We met Bobby (their son) who was also very helpful so there was a person to talk to personally if we would have has any problems or questions (which we didn't have). We do definitly recommend this everyone as it's so close to everything you can do in San Diego (and there's a lot :) )

    Julia2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience with Airbnb and was excellent. The room and house were exactly as I expected, Violet was extremely responsive to any and all of my messages, everything was very easy and wonderful. Violet was eager to share some trip ideas and had a few lovely books with even more. I was a bit concerned when I ound out a baby was staying in the other private room- but either it was the quietest baby in the world, or else the soundproofing was spectacular! Mt only regret is that I wish I utilized this beautiful house more than i was able (due to all of my plans).

  • Kirk & Kathleen are so nice and cool! The place is even better than as described, so many interesting little pieces of art. The neighborhood is also a great place to hang out, highly recommend this whole experience!

    Brent2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place! The hosts are two of the most wonderful people I've ever met. I would come back here for sure!

    Luke2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home with lovely hosts and cats! They were so helpful in giving us recommendations for great local restaurants and even got us free tickets to a comedy show! Sitting in the jacuzzi in the moonlight was the perfect way to end the day. The coffee in the morning before we left was delicious! They even let us leave our bags until our family had arrived. Thank you for great company and a wonderful trip!

    Richelle2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kirk and Kathleen were great hosts, and their beautiful home was awe inspiring and seemingly magic! Tucked upon a magnificent canyon hillside, this place was other worldly and super cozy. The hosts were very accommodating and even made us cappuccinos in the mornings! Their home is covered in lush gardening and various cultured works of art. Making it a perfect fit for traveling artists or enthusiasts who could respect the serenity of it all. Their cats were so goofy and we very much enjoyed hanging on the porch drawing with them purring as they flop about the tropical style deck. In the evening, we were super stoked to relax and star gaze in their deck top jacuzzi. Overall though, these guys were absolutely wonderful, and we highly recommend them for any San Diego adventurers! Much Love, Amy & Jake

  • It was great! Lovely & friendly people, a beautiful & unique house in a good neighbourhood close to 30th street. We would recommend it to our friends and family! We hope to be back one day...

    Ellen2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The experience was thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing. Beautiful house and the most gracious hosts around. We had never stayed in an Airbnb while the owners were home, but it wasn't an issue as they were respectful and gave you as much space as you wanted. Highly recommend if you want a beautiful, relaxing setting with kitties and super friendly hosts. :) If you want a relaxing and chill vibe in the neighborhood, North Park is the way to go. P

This California cottage sits in the eclectic and ever-changing Barrio Logan. Located only 5 minute car drive from downtown, an $6 Uber ride from Petco Park/Downtown/Convention Center/Zoo/Coronado, 15 minutes from airport/train station. Mission/Pacific Beaches 15 minutes away. My place is close to Ryan Bros Coffee Inc, Chicano Park, Salud! Hipster Taco Shop, Xborder Brewery, Iron Fist Brewery, Salt & Pepper Art Gallery, Basile Art Gallery, Panchita's Authentic Mexican Bakery, Café Moto.
The cottage was built in 1929 with all the charm and characteristics of that era. I have remodeled and updated honoring the charm but adding a modern twist to make it comfortable and quiet. The cottage is about 750 sq ft so it is cozy but has an open floor concept. The room is approx. 10 ft x 10 ft and lightly furnished to ensure a comfortable stay. It has it's own air conditioning unit and heater. It is a shared bathroom. The room and bathroom have sliding barn doors-they are not traditional door see bathroom picture for example. Both doors have locks for your privacy. Also Lola ( 20lb ) my dog is very friendly and likes to socialize with guests. Please see reviews:) However, if you do not feel comfortable around dogs, this might not be the home for you.
Barrio Logan is an eclectic neighborhood that is seeing a lot of change. Many artists and art galleries have made Barrio Logan their home because of its proximity to downtown and the rich local history that includes the renowned Chicano Park, home to beautiful murals depicting the Latino experience.

  • Erika's place is very clean and comfortable. The place description is accurate and she is very friendly. I strongly recommended her place.

  • Erika and her bulldog, Lola, made us feel completely at home, and treated us like friends more than guests. Her home is in a great location, the bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the shower rejuvenating. It was a terrific alternative to staying at my pricy conference hotel, and a hop, skip and a jump away from Balboa Park and Coronado Island!

    Lauren2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Erika is a fantastic host: she has made us feeling like at home. We have perfectly comunicated with here and the house was very clean and not far from downtown. We also like her funny dog Lola!

  • Erika ensured we felt at home and informed us in advance of what to expect and to make herself available to answer our questions. Arrival went smoothly and the cute cottage was easily found. We were greeted by her cute and friendly dog. This little pooch was well trained and had a wonderful personality, mase no demands and was happy to be taken out for walks and to show us all her favorite neighborhood spots. Erika's cottage is tastefully furnished and very confortable. She went out of her way to make sure everything went smoothly and we were happy, which we definitely were. It made a great base for exploring San Diego. Would visit again!

  • Erika was very kind, informative & answered my questions. She has a natural way of making you feel welcome! I really liked the neighborhood, such an eclectic mix of things! I was able to walk to dinner that first night, she wasn't kidding about ¡Salud! Very good food indeed, & the pricing within my budget. I really enjoyed my quick trip to San Diego, & I'm looking forward to coming back!! Can't forget Lola! She's just a doll, having her there to greet me was an added bonus!!!

This master suite within this gorgeous Villa features a queen and king foam topper bed surrounded by beautiful Venetian Plaster walls. Also included is a Jacuzzi Tub, a Huge Shower, plus a "smart toilet" making this a unique and comfortable stay!
This home has custom ironwork artistry in a dramatic fence surrounding the property as well as the balconies and interiors. Grand entrance with custom double doors opens to a spacious formal living room and dining area which overlook lush tropical greenery and bamboo in the back canyon that feels more like a Mediterranean country estate than a home that's only 1.8 miles to downtown San Diego.
This neighborhood is a HIDDEN GEM in San Diego! It feels removed and extremely quiet, yet it's about 1/2 mile to the airport, 2 miles to the convention center, 5 minutes to SeaWorld or the Zoo, and 1.5 miles to the terrific restaurants in Little Italy. All this without the hustle and bustle of the city is quite extraordinary. It feels more like a country estate than a home that is not even 2 miles to the city center of San Diego!
  • Great place, very spacious, extremely clean. I would definitely stay here again. No complaints! Highly recommend this place.

    Caroline2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Matt's place was one of the nicest we've ever stayed at. It was perfect for us. The neighborhood is so quiet. The porch was the perfect place to sit and talk. The beds were comfortable. Absolutely no complaints.

    Joseph2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great host and great location! What an awesome house and Matt did all he could to make the stay awesome. We would definitely visit again.

  • This was my first experience with airbnb. What a great experience it was. I am a very cautious person by nature, but I always like to try new things. I saw the listing on this place, and thought...sounds to good to be true. I figured maybe the location was bad, maybe fake pictures, maybe a rude host...well I was wrong. I showed up and everything was as advertised, actually nicer then advertised...the bed was great, the message chair in the room was great, the bathroom was great, the common areas (indoor and outdoor) was great, and the host answered all my questions within minutes...the only drawback was that I could only stay one night because the place was fully booked for the rest of my stay! Next time I'm in San Diego I will plan ahead a little further so I can stay in this place my whole trip!

    Sean2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place is wonderful- the area, the house, the host. I would highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway.

    Megan2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Unreal opportunity. Amazing room, great host, and BETTER than a resort stay.

    Lester2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was the easiest and most relaxed room rental process I've ever experienced. Matthew sent detailed information about how to get into the house to find my room and everything was just as he said it would be. The room is large with a great walk in closet with built-in drawers and plenty of hangers. The king-sized bed was more comfortable than my own bed at home and I slept unusually well. When in San Diego again, I'll very likely to try to reserve this room again.

    Heather2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's place is so beautiful and luxurious. I was in town to visit friends and this place is accessible but at the same time be in my own getaway villa. I use Uber all the time and it only took 8-10 mins to downtown. You can can walk to Balboa park from here. The neighborhood is also safe (saw some nice houses too!) Checking in was a breeze. Cleanliness: top notch. My room had a tub jacuzzi with overlooking windows. I looked forward to that warm relaxing bath after a night out. The bed, soft sheets and nice scenery to wake up to made the experience even better. Not to mention the massage chair! After a warm jacuzzi bath then sit on the massage chair....the best! I would definitely stay here again when I go back to SD. If you're the get-up-and-go type of person looking for a luxurious respite after a day around town, I recommend staying here.

  • Lovely stay. We checked in when no one was home, but we were given detailed instructions on how to let ourselves in and get comfortable. Angela was quick to respond to questions and made us feel very welcome and at home. The pets were great to play with as well!

    Kathrina2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay. Angela and Sailor (very friendly dog) were great hosts and company. The exterior is very comfortable and makes for nice lounging. The lovely interior decorating added to the wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

  • Angela was so welcoming! Her beautiful house was clean and comfy. The house is in perfect proximity to so many things in San Diego! We only wish we could've stayed longer...will definitely be coming back!

    Lara2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic experience start to finish. Communication was excellent, the house was absolutely gorgeous, the room was comfortable, and the cats were friendly when I greeted them but generally didn't bother me (good news for other people who do not like cats). Angela ended up having to be out of town during my stay, but her preparation and communication made the whole process a breeze.

    Jon2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Angela did a great job at welcoming us. We came in for a short getaway. The best features of the place is the outdoor sitting areas. There is a beautiful fire pit in back with comfortable outdoor furniture. We were able to walk to great coffee shops and restaurants. The neighborhood is very cute and friendly.

  • Great host, awesome pets!

    Xinyang2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home in a perfect neighborhood! The room was clean, cozy, and private. The bathroom felt like our own, and the common areas were all very inviting and bright. Angela made us feel welcome our entire stay with an easy check-in, clear communication, and even homemade muffins!

    Chloe2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Angela has been very nice, I arrived earlier than I was supposed to but there has been no problem at all. She offered a delicious home-baked banana muffin and she showed me the house that is really nice and clean. Unfortunately I have been very busy to be able to experience some of the amenities but I really would consider to go back there whenever I'll come again in San Diego.

  • Alex and Diane were cool and we felt very comfortable visiting; house rules were clear and fair. House is beautiful, loved the yard, and the neighborhood was perfect for exploring.

    Kristen2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Diane was such a lovely host, and her home is so charming, comfortable, and located in a great central area. We stayed over a holiday weekend and she did everything to make us feel right at home. She gave us some pointers about the area, and even had games and toys set out for my step-daughter to play with that belonged to her children. The linens were cozy, and the home is well appointed with all necessary amenities. Is a great place for a small family, couple, or solo. Diane is a warm host and I wish I had more time to get to know her. My family will definitely be staying here again.

    Elizabeth2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Diane was great. Beautiful home. The patio is amazing, great place to chill. This is very much a family home. The beds were really comfortable and the location is really pretty. Diane has a great little folder about things to do and see. She recommended a fantastic pancake place.

    Shane2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Diane was the perfect host, she was very welcoming and made us feel at home! She was there to answer any questions we had and gave us tips on where to eat etc. Her house is beautiful and in a great location, close to old town, airport and the city centre. I would 100%, recommend staying here, I only wish we could have stayed longer! Would stay here again if I returned!

    Alex2016-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Diane was a perfect host and her house is indeed very charming. Location: Diane's house is in a very nice neighbourhood in Mission Hill. It is quiet and within walking distance to the Old Town Transit Center, which is convenient if you want, as I did, go downtown by trolley (the walking path is not illuminated and therefore only recommendable during daytime). Presidio park is very close and looks nice but I did not have time to make use of it. Accomodation: My room was nicely furnished and I had a bathroom for myself. Everything was clean, well functioning and without any problems. Diane provided me with towels. The house is nicely furnished with a big kitchen that seems to be fully equipped (I only had breakfast and used the oven once to heat-up a pizza). Diane: Diane was very friendly and cooperative. She answered me any question I had (next restaurant, next supermarkt), provided me with fruits, milk, and cereals for my breakfast and even offered me to ride her bike. I enjoyed very much the few conversations I had with her. General impression: Everything was perfect. I highly recommend Diane's place to anybody that visists San Diego and likes to be close to Downtown and/or the Airport but not in Downtown itself. I would not hesitate to rent Diane's place again if opportunity arises.

Our house is just steps from the beach and is within walking distance of all that Ocean Beach (OB) has to offer. Enjoy the sight and sound of the Pacific Ocean from your comfortable front bedroom or the roof top deck. OB is a great place, come and stay awhile.
Near the beach (life guard tower is nearby), the pier, many restaurants and bars.
OB is a relaxing beach community close to downtown San Diego, but yet it still retains a small town feel. Besides the obvious benefit of having beautiful beach, there are bike trails, cliffs to hike along, good restaurants and a fairly lively nightlife scene. On Wednesdays, there is a farmer's market nearby with lots of fresh produce and live music. There is no real reason to leave OB, but if you chose to, easy access to the freeway system means you are not far from all that San Diego has to offer.
  • Wow! This place is awesome! The house was immaculate, the room was very private and accessible. Our host, Jhonny was warm and gracious. If that wasn't enough, the location CAN'T BE BEAT! Steps from great dining, coffee and all the shops you'll need (groceries, sundries and beverages). The decks were great for relaxing, people watching and seeing the sun go down. My wife and I scheduled our travel around the availability of this room. We both agreed that we're really glad we did. We ended up parking the car in the covered, secured, off street garage and didn't use it again until we left. While there's a lot to do and see in San Diego, and this place would make for a great travel base to explore from, we opted for a slower pedestrian stay. Ocean Beach delivered. We'll be back to OB and we'll definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!!!

  • Very gracious hosts who shared their perfectly situated home on the beach with us and made our brief stay very comfortable. The Ocean Beach neighborhood is very laid back and lively. It was a real treat to sit up high on the third floor deck and survey the scene. Great experience!

  • Great Room, Great Location, Great Host. What more could you want. The room was as advertised, if not more. The location was right across from the beach. An awesome deck where we watched the sun set in the Pacifiv Ocean with margaritas in hand. Johnny was a great host and made us feel very much at home

  • Great location in Ocean Beach. Private room with connected bath- very comfortable. The views from 2 decks are amazing and we had such easy access to cafés, restaurants and markets. We were lucky enough to find on street parking but there is a garage space provided as well. We had lots of privacy but our hosts were available if needed. I'm sure we will be back!

    Ralph2014-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely and clean. The location was amazing and we were steps from the beach. You can see the beach and ocean from the second and third floor decks as well as the living room. Kitchen fully renovated. Bed very comfortable. It was also great having a private garage so close to the beach. We had a wonderful time and the hosts were gracious and accommodating.

  • This is a little gem hidden in a very relaxed area of San Diego. The place is lovely and full of little surprises and decorative touches that will make you smile. The photos tell only a part of the whole story. I stayed there only for one night, but it was enough to make me want come back. You're very close to the beach, there's a bunch of nice bars/restaurants/cafes a few steps away and Mission in general is a great place to take it easy and chill out after a busy week. Since the house the rooms are a part of is quite thin-walled, you may want to sleep with earplugs, if you're a light sleeper (that I am not). The bed is too comfortable! You won't feel like leaving it in the morning ;) (which you totally should, because the beach is 2 minutes away)

    Michal2014-04-07T00:00:00Z

    Brian2015-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice spot on the beach, the room was very clean and everything was perfect for our stay. The small garden area outside is super cool to relax in after a day on the ocean and the BNB was secluded away from the noise which is very rare for this area. All in all we had a great stay and will definitely stay here on our next trip out to the west coast!

    Jami2015-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely fantastic. Super cute and neat and comfy. I wish I could have stayed for a few more days. Hot water wasn't working but Nicolette came by to see if she could fix it but since we were only staying for a night, it was no big deal. Their kitchen has all the fixin's a small kitchen can have- I made bomb steak and rib dinner while I was there.

    Mary2012-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment itself is a testament to creativity and efficiency- Ozlem certainly has a flare for perfectly appointing such a small place and making it feel cozy. We didn't spend much time aside from getting ready and sleeping in her place (which is always the case when the SD weather is so nice). I will echo the other reviewers who called out parking as an issue- as a former San Diegan I can confirm that Mission beach parking has always, and remains, a big problem. Park in PB and walk down to the place, unless you get lucky with an overnight spot. Also, the apartment photos are shot with a lot of range, the place is pretty small....maybe 180 square feet or so, and the bathroom is tight enough to fit about one person only, so if you're looking for a place to stretch out or take a bath, this is not it. Had a good stay there though, everything as advertised.

    Danny and Shannon2012-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Good instructions and the place was very comfortable.

    Susanne2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Must be the coziest apt I've ever been ! Ozlem is such a beautiful and lovely person and a great host. If you need peace and joy or want to add some more to your own, this apt is the best place to be. Enjoyed my few days there !

  • If you are seeking a comfortable, affordable, swanky place to stay during your visit to the Beaches of San Diego, just stop your search right here. Seriously. This is the ideal place for a week or weekend in this awesome area. My girlfriend and I spent a full week in this apartment and loved every minute of it. Wonderful studio in the heart of San Diego. It boasts off street parking private bathroom and small garden for sipping coffee in the morning or enjoying evening sunsets. An amazingly well done garage conversion that allows privacy but still gives access to two locals with great ideas to make your trip wonderful. Walking distance to a handful of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. 1/2 block walk to public transport or a quick drive to beaches, downtown, and zoo. Ideal for two ready for adventure
This space is a brand new converted garage that been meticulously renovated. We have given it the feel of a luxury hotel. It has an amazing bathroom with custom shower. Our space is ideal for up to two people who want to live with the San Diego locals and really get to know what San Diego has to offer. There is a private off street parking space dedicated for the studio. This spacious retreat gets a great off shore breeze from the Pacific Ocean. The floors are a hardwood look alike that is awesome for walking bare foot on. The bed is a queen size pillow topped delight that is oh so comfortable. For Restaurants we have Dimillies Italian, Antique Row Cafe, Soda and Swine, Blue Boheme, and El Zerape. All of these restaurants are walking distance from our home or a 2 minute drive away.
  • Great place to stay for my weekend getaway! The studio was perfect. It had everything a hotel would've had and more! Was in town for a music festival so didn't have much down time but I will definitely book this place again next time I'm in town. Nina is super sweet & accommodating as well :)

  • What a wonderful place! So private, quiet and serene. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here, and would go back again. Amazing to wake up and open beautiful french doors and be so close to the beach! We saw dolphins every morning, it was PERFECT! We miss it already!

    Patrick2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancée and I chose this location to celebrate a Babymoon in advance of our first born and we could not have chosen a more comfortable place. From the minute we arrived, Matt and his wife Pat were incredibly welcoming and saw to it that we took advantage of everything his place had to offer. The photos cannot fully describe the relaxing feel of the place (it doesn't hurt that it really is 40 steps to the beach). The amenities (comfortable bed, mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, etc.) were just as described and since we were below the main living space in the primary residence, we felt as though we had plenty of privacy. The neighborhood is quiet at night so all you hear are the waves crashing in the background - very easy to fall asleep to the sound of that. Also, the location is not far from a great local restaurant scene (no chains) in Oceanside or Carlsbad (lots to choose from).

    Josue2015-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew and Pat's place is amazing! The view of the ocean is stunning; the apartment is comfortable, cozy, well appointed, and has everything you need for a retreat from the world. The hosts are gracious and hospitable, and have a lovely balance of warmth and privacy towards your stay. The apartment is exactly as described; it's charm is hard to capture in pictures and words-- it is that special. You will have a wonderful time!

  • Janet and I really enjoyed staying here. As mid-westerners (wisconsin) we don't get to see the ocean very much. The view of the ocean was from the french doors in the room as spectacular. This property is located away from the busy public beach areas, and we really appreciated not having to share the beach with the masses! Room was comfortable and very modern. If I come to Oceanside to stay again this is where I'm going to go if I can

  • My wife and I were able to spend three incredible nights at 40 Feet from the Pacific. The location is perfect, the accommodations were amazing. Everything about this location is perfect. We look forward to our next visit.

  • This place is all about the beach. What a beautiful place! All you hear is the waves crashing on the beach. You can watch the surfers through the open French doors and the sunset from your private patio. The house feels like a French country home, mixed with California Beach flair. If you wonder whether the price is worth it, believe me it is! If I could give more than five stars, I would. We will be back soon.

  • This was our first experience with Airbnb and honestly it could not have been better! The Caulfields were gracious hosts! We immediately felt welcome and comfortable. The suite has a private entrance and is beautifully decorated, truly the pictures don’t do it justice! Matt and Pat pay attention to detail. The suite was spotless and well stocked from the linens and toiletries in the bathroom to the breakfast items and snacks in the kitchen! The bed is 5 star comfortable as is the leather recliner! When your eyes open in the morning you look out on view of the ocean and sound of the waves crashing the beach…PRICELESS! Another trip is definitely in our future! Thank you Matt and Pat it was our pleasure meeting both of you!

Fully private suite/guesthouse with your own living space, bathroom, and full kitchen. Our place is close to San Diego State University (SDSU), Qualcomm Stadium, and 15-20 minutes away from the beach, Seaworld, airport, Downtown, Tijuana, and more. You’ll love our place because of the incredible 180+ degree views, the coziness, the pool & hot tub, and convenient access to all San Diego sightseeing. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
  • Great place and central location to many of SD attractions. The view is hard to beat to! We will definitely be remembering this place next time we are in SD.

  • Great place to stay. Joseph was amazing in his quick responses. Pool and view are great. Anything we needed we got, and there was so much there already. Felt like I was at home. Price was great, definitely staying here next time. Definitely recommend.
