  • House is so cute and cozy for a winter weekend away. I’m sure in the months with leaves on the trees it is even more amazing. Easy check in and good communication. Well stocked kitchen and good WiFi. The yard looks like is it still in process, but the inside is clean, cute, and nicely decorated. Everything in the house was so warm and comfy. Great weekend away! Will definitely come back.

  • Richard was a wonderful host and his house is beautiful and unique. If you're looking for a getaway in the country, the location and the space can't be beat!

    Gabriel2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Richard was very accommodating, his space was excellent!

    Stanley2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time at Richard's place! The space is nice and spacious and the pellet stove, while we were apprehensive at first, was easy to use and kept us nice and toasty during a very cold weekend. Richard was very responsive and gave us some great tips for dining in the area!

    Kristen2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This Arbnb exceeded all of my expectations. It was super clean, spacious and sophisticated. The location is away from crowds and yet it’s only a few minutes from every service I needed. I especially appreciated the open atmosphere Richard created with few distractions, one that I needed for writing. It’s airy, spacious and quiet. Everything was easy to find and full stocked -linen, kitchenware, and amenities. A snow storm arrived during my stay and didn’t cause any problems. I was warm, comfortable and safe, even the pellet stove was easy to use. Most of all I appreciated how responsive Richard was during my stay. No need went unmet. I highly recommend this Arbnb.

    Geraldine2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this beautiful and modern home. Cute Scandinavian style remodeled barn with open floor plan, which is bright, cozy and super clean. Setting is private with close location to towns and restaurants. Richard was very responsive and kind. Thanks again for a great stay at your wonderful home!

    Claire2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • It’s lovely, light filled and relaxing space. There aren’t any real bedrooms but the spaciousness meant that my grown sons and I each had comfortable places to sleep, and we all slept very well. The living room area and kitchen were both set up nicely and worked great for cooking, eating and hanging out. We would stay there again.

Doze off in comfy patio chairs to the sound of a babbling brook. Have BBQs on the deck or have formal meals in a dining room by a blazing wood stove. Choose a book from bursting shelves, then sink into a well-loved leather couch for a quiet night in.
The seasons are alive at Fern Rock Cottage! With front and back decks and a private deck off the master bedroom, there is much opportunity to take in your woodsy surroundings year round. Bring your kids, your dog, or just escape with that special someone— privacy and peace and tranquility are here. Sit outside around the gas fire pit, bring out your inner grill master on the BBQ, or sit in the comfy chaise lounges on the back deck. Inside— the home features wide plank pine floors, a wood stove, forest/country/mountain/lake views from almost every window and a definite cottage vibe. There is an overstuffed big leather couch in the family room, lovingly used upholstered chairs to sink into in the library, and comfy beds with new pillows, down duvets and luxury linens in the guest rooms. The mudroom will help absorb your travel bags and/or ski equipment, and a full sized stackable washer dryer is ready to clean your weekend play clothes before you return to the "real world." There are three private bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate 7 guests in individual beds. Bedroom three features a queen bunk, with a single bed over top of it. It is situated within 30 minutes to Mohawk and Catamount for skiers and snowboarders. Salisbury School, Hotchkiss, and Berkshire School are minutes away for families visiting their boarding students. Enjoy the beautiful lake view, but it is a private lake, so no boating or swimming. But get your lake fix by heading to "The Grove" just two minutes away at Lakeville Lake to swim, sun, or take your kids to the lakeside playground.
Fern Rock Cottage is in the Salisbury/Lakeville area near the Village of Millerton. It's on a scenic road that's popular with pet owners, nature lovers, and exercise enthusiasts. Stroll by a reservoir, meadows, and catch glimpses of a private lake.
  • Everything about the stay at the cottage was great beginning with the warm welcome from the host and ending with waking up to the dramatic vista. It is a very tastefully decorated place, pleasing to the eye and mind, very fit for a restful stay away from the hustle and bustle of New York City.

    Christopher2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We keep coming back to Fern Cottage, which has become almost our country house. We love this place so much and Kerry is the best host ever.

    Basile2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We (my friend and I and our two teenage girls) loved this modernized historic home. Extremely clean, comfortable, and well-decorated. Lots and lots of books and art, a wood-burning stove, wine and flowers upon arrival. The house is very peaceful, with lots of different areas to sit and read or chat, and had everything we needed to cook, rest, play games, and take walks in nature. Kerri was very responsive and accommodating. We had a perfect stay and plan to come back again for a writers’ retreat.

    Mindi2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We rented this place for a secluded business retreat to unplug from technology and the distractions of the outside world and get work done! It was perfect for that. We cooked our own meals every day and the kitchen had everything we needed for that. We took long walks by the pond for fresh air, and when we were going a little stir crazy we hopped into the sweet little town for a bit. The beds were super comfy and the place was full of character and charm. The library had books covering just about every topic you could ever imagine too!

    Grace2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Book it! It’s a wonderful, serene place, artfully decorated, clean, comfy, and great location.

    Nancy2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent upstate getaway with friends from out of town. Kerri and Kirt are star hosts. They both shared great tips for the area and also made sure that our newborn was well taken care of with a pack and play, new sheets, and all.

    Megan2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Warm and cozy home.

    Patricia2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great. My family had a wedding at the Interlaken Inn on saturday afternoon and normally the checkin would've been after the start of the wedding but Kerri was super generous and let us check in early. The home was clean and so charming it was perfect for a night away with the family. Definiely would recommend this to others visiting the area!

Newly renovated and designed by Stoneledge Farm + Home — featuring Casper mattresses and pillows, Pine Cone Hill linens and a Williams Sonoma kitchen. Mika is the Owner and Founder of Stoneledge Farm + Home - A design and lifestyle brand. Housewares from the collection are available for sale at the cottage upon request. The spaces reflect a casual, but sophisticated design aesthetic. Salisbury Cottage exists as a prototype for an "experiential retail" model of luxury travel and experience. Our special cottage is convenient to Berkshire School, Hotchkiss School, Indian Mountain School, The Salisbury School and Trinity Pauling (a bit further). It has a quaint front yard with a classic picket fence and has been the location for garden parties and the like. Not to mention the White Hart is available for catering!
  • Best home away from home ever!

    Dana2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful stay! The house is perfect for families with young kids—there’s a lot to do within walking distance and lots of fun activities (Catamount, the lake) only a short drive away. The house is modern, fully equipped, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. Can’t wait for our next visit!

    Laura2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and clean home. We had a great weekend with kids and family. The location was ideal!

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This home is beautifully and thoughtfully appointed. The appliances are new and clean and all of the sheets and towels are of very high quality. The location cannot be beat! Mika is a responsive host and the home is very clean and inviting.

    Natasha2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! We absolutely loved our time at mika’s beautiful cottage! The house was so well appointed with beautiful cozy furnishings. Even better than the photos suggest. We loved having the White Hart next door and ran out in pjs to get delicious baked goods every morning. We can’t wait to return again!!

    Erika2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mika and Renee made the weekend away super easy and relaxing. Check-in is super simple, the house is super nice and there is plenty of *everything* you’d need. We’ll be back!

    James2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Salisbury Cottage is a perfectly renovated house just off of Main Street. White Hart Inn is a stones throw across the street and offers excellent dinner and breakfast options. We also made it to Neo Restaurant and Bar (5 min walk) which was also great (both are child friendly). We visited a local brewery (Norwood Farm) not too far away that has great beers, pretzels and also has some great hiking on the property and disc golf. The house was extremely clean, with fresh linens, comfortable beds and a great wood burning fireplace. Look no further if you are staying in the area!

    Michael2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly stylish and cozy space. We were floored by the beautifully renovated interiors, stylish furnishings, and coziness of the house overall. Even the pots and pans in the kitchen are the real deal, not just flimsy afterthoughts (I am a chef so I pay attention to this stuff!). We had a lovely week and could not have been happier we stayed here.

  • Hi Andrew - You have such an amazing place - so warm, comfortable and filled with light. From every vantage one gets a beautiful view of the surround forest, hills and landscape - truly bringing the outside in. I was excited to come and stay and your place exceeded every thing I had hoped for - so beautifully appointed, clean and welcoming and so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. It's definitely on my list of places to come back to - can only imagine how wonderful it is on a warm mid-summer evening to sit out on the deck, relax and take it all in. So thankful that you've shared your place! -- Larry

    Larry2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place is absolutely stunning, location is so quiet and private. Incredibly clean and such an inviting environment. The bed was insane cozy, probably could have stayed in bed for days. Loved the decor and being surrounded by the nature - including a little family of deer that visited regularly. Andrew was incredible with giving suggestions on places to dine, things to do and was very understanding and helpful in all communications. Highly recommend staying here!!

    Carissa2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Andrews home was fantastic and far exceeded our expectations! The photos simply don’t to the place justice - the double high windows make you feel like you’re living in nature and the views are spectacular. Would recommend this stay to anyone!!

    Jessica2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Spent a long weekend at Andrew’s beautiful and serene home. We were in our happy place. Stunning, sunlit views... a warm fireplace nook perfect for reading... and a great stretch of land for fun and games with the kids. Perfection!

    Atit2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Jenn’s place could not have been more perfect. It was immaculate, comfortable, and the perfect place to relax and enjoy the weekend. We especially enjoyed the fireplace. It was great to be in such a quiet and peaceful setting, but also be close to some shops, skiing, etc. We have stayed in a number of Airbnb’s and this was by far our favorite!

    Lydia2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Could not be more perfect! What a gorgeous space —everything comfortable and clean. True luxury in the woods. Andrew’s responses before and during our stay were always immediate. The second bedroom was just as nice as the master suite. We cannot recommend this place more highly. THIS Is what Airbnb is all about!

    Dan2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing Airbnb experience — everything and more you could ever want in a place; beautiful accommodation, great location and wonderful amenities.

    Keira2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is as beautiful as advertised. The kitchen is excellent. The living room is probably, in fact, understated by the photos. The affect of the giant windows and high ceilings make the room bright and airy during the day, and warm and cozy at night. The couches are spacious and comfortable. The king bed is a real luxury. We also really enjoyed our time exploring Salisbury and Lakeville. They are just down the road in either direction. Our conclusion is that they are both very underrated! I highly recommend!

  • We had another great stay at the Goddess Cottage. Highly recommended for luxury, seclusion, and r&r. Also, really cool spontaneous adventures nearby, brewery/distillery tours, hiking, great antiquing along Rt. 7 and more!!

    Todd2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancee and I had an amazing time, it was the perfect romantic getaway. We had the chance to observe wildlife on our hike and while we took a motor boat out on the lake. The local food was delicious, the seafood was so fresh. Last but not least the cottage was itself was cozy and beautiful, the drive at night is a little creepy at first if youre not used to surrounding darkness but once you get out and see the stars and then get inside to that warm fire it just melts your worries away!

    Shane2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This home is an incredible find. Lola is probably the best host of the many I have rented from in the past. There is so much attention to detail in this cottage. The location and ambiance is second to none in the area. If you are looking to recharge your batteries and enjoy the outdoors within the comforts of a beautiful home, this is your place....

    Nand2019-10-14T00:00:00Z

Lovely Lakeville home that will accommodate 7 guests. Large living room with fireplace connected to three season porch. Small family room with pull out couch. Finished basement/playroom. Newly renovated gourmet kitchen.
The Main house at Interlaken Rd is an updated Antique home originally built in 1785. In addition to the spacious home there is a large patio with a grill overlooking a lawn and play area for children..The main house is close to Hotchkiss, restaurants in Millerton and Salisbury. Rental also comes with guest pass to lakeville lake.
We loved living in Lakeville, you are close to all the private schools in our area as well as restaurants and of course Lakeville lake.
  • Ben's house is very comfortable and tidy, especially the soft and warm configuration of the bedroom, which makes the sleep very sweet! The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, dishes and spices. You can enjoy a clean, independent and free life here. Ben is very considerate and always responds to any questions. He also asks about the accommodation and whether there are any other needs. This is my favorite stay in Lakeville and I look forward to coming back next time.

    2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend skiing and enjoying some time out of the city. The house is perfect for a family getaway. It is cozy and charming, and Ben is a great host! I would highly recommend a visit in winter or summer.

    Thomas2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Benjamin's home and would absolutely come back again. The house was clean and well furnished. The property was spacious and worked well for our large group of six adults. We especially enjoyed the large, newly renovated kitchen and comfortable living room, which made for enjoyable spaces for our entire family gather. The house is a quick drive from a few cute towns and walkable to Hotchkiss School. I cannot recommend this house enough for a relaxing, quiet stay in CT!

    Sara2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Charming home; great kitchen; very light and airy; quite comfortable and great location for the area

    John2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Both the main house and guest house were perfect for our group coming up for a beautiful fall weekend. The setting is gorgeous, walking distance to Hotchkiss, and you definitely feel like you're doing a typical New England weekend. The Guest house is better than expected and quite nice. Main house is 80% great, 20% "charming," meaning it's an old farm house and you should expect it to be a little creaky. The non-master bedrooms feel a little small/stuffy and the bathrooms are a little dated, but on the whole as long as you have appropriate expectations, this is pretty close to ideal. Ben was a fantastic host.

    Alex2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's house is a lovely home with farmhouse charm. The location is one of the greatest assets, situated close to the towns of Lakeville and Millerton. We loved using the Town Grove pass that Ben provides his guests and would highly recommend that future guests take advantage of that access. The pool was clean and well-heated; the house was also very clean. There is no air-conditioning on the first-floor, so I may recommend bringing a few fans with you if possible. Ben is an excellent host and communicator; we highly recommend staying here!

    Sameena2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn’t haven enjoyed my stay more. Plenty of room for friends to visit the house, kitchen open and bright for serving meals and the pool was the center of activity while I was in town. The location was great for eating out at local restaurants and enjoying the surrounding towns. So wonderful - will try for two weeks next summer. Also plenty of fluffy towels and comfy beds.

Markets nearby and lots of great things to do and good for walking. Good kitchen and space. Kitchen could have done with some serving dishes but otherwise all good. Small comfortable place close to Lime Rock Park and Ski Butternut. 3 bedrooms. Including one master with full bath. Lots of great restaurants in the area and places to hike or take out your canoe or kayak. Fenced in backyard for your pet. There is also a small fish pool to enjoy. I do have cameras pointing at the front door and back door to see when guests arrive and when they leave. Please do not try and sneak in extra guests you didn't intend to pay for. I've has these issues before. Welcome!
This home is a wonderful place to relax. In the summer the backyard has flowers and a vegetable garden, picnic table with umbrella, large fire pit and a bench. I have a small fish pool that has a fountain and gold fish that love to be fed. Please don't let your children or pets play in it though!! There are two grills you are welcome to use, charcoal or propane. In the winter the wood stove in the living room has a window that you can watch the fire crackle from.. I wish I had a real fire place because I love to watch the fire :) but this is the best I could do. I have a small wood stove in the kitchen which heats up real quick which I like to start on those chilly mornings while I make my coffee and get ready for work. The front porch that you see in the picture has a futon. It's nice to sit there with a glass of wine in the evening when the bugs keep you from going outside. You can even sleep out there if you'd like and listen to the peepers and crickets or the rain :) You'll have to come by to see the rest! I hope you will. I know you'll love the area! Cheers! Gabriele
Sand Rd. is a rural road with a farm and an operating quarry on it. It is a nice flat road if you'd like to bring your bike. The town of North Canaan is about 3 miles north and south you'll find the center of Falls Village. Not much going on there but the Falls Village in is a great restaurant and there are nice walking trails by the Housatonic River. The Great Falls of Falls Village are also a sight to be seen! Especially in the Spring or after a good rain. The AT goes through this area and the Northwest Corner of CT has some gorgeous views!
  • What a wonderful and relaxing break for the hustle of New York City. The house has everything we needed, including a fenced in yard for our dog to run around. Candy in jars around the house was a welcome and yummy touch. Gabriele was incredibly responsive, which brought us great joy!

The room is available with a choice of two single beds or one king size bed. Walking distance to Appalachian trail and surrounded by great biking and cycling roads. Walk to coffee on weekends. 20 minutes by car to Great Barrington, Mass. I do have a dog and kitty. Informal. Great for hikers, cyclists, or accommodations for local events. Breakfast is simple - coffee or tea, toast, jam and yogurt.
  • Laura's place was really nice and comfy! We only stayed there for one night, but Laura went the extra mile to make us feel welcome! We arrived at around 10pm and she offered us tea and biskuits. The next morning she prepared a lovely breakfast for us and she had some great recommandations for our trip. Would love to stay there again.

    Manuela2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Laura has a cute house with much rustic charm. She is extremely friendly and would definitely recommend staying at her place.

    Will2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was so kind and welcoming. After a day of traveling, we were greeted by a lovely pot of tea and friendly conversation. Laura provided recommendations of things to do in the area.

    Mark2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place was just what I was looking for. Easy to find and within walking distance of town, but not right in town. It was quiet and peaceful. The room was clean and good access to an equally clean bathroom. She gave great pointers about where to go on the rest of our trip. At her suggestion, we went and checked out the falls nearby and thought it was beautiful. (And seriously 2 minutes away).

    Mary2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We both slept better at Laura’s place than we sometimes do at home. The bed is large and comfortable. The bedroom is light and airy, with lots of windows. There are blinds too, if you need them. The bedroom is tucked away in a corner of the house and, together with the adjacent bathroom, forms a private suite. The bathroom itself is also spacious and bright. Everything works well. The Wifi is great. Laura is friendly and helpful. So are her dogs and cat. All of our arrangements were easily made and there were no problems of any kind. The house is on a quiet road on the edge of the village. We drove to the local coffee shop in about three minutes. Note, however, that it is open only four mornings a week. We stayed at Laura’s place after visiting nearby Infinity Hall and will certainly consider doing the same again at some future date.

  • This is a nice old house and very comfortable! One of the best things is the location just by the footpath that runs between Salisbury and Lakeville. Easy walk to a grocery, bakery and more. Ethan is a great host who makes sure everything goes smoothly. I would definitely stay here again.

Come enjoy our cozy, clean, newly renovated semi-detached cottage in the Litchfield Hills. Stay in, cook dinner, and relax on the large porch and listen to the sound of our brook and the Housatonic River just steps away. An ideal writer or artist retreat. Or enjoy the surrounding area - there are lots of restaurants, galleries, day hikes, and outdoor activities within a short drive. 8 miles to Kent, voted the prettiest small town in CT, 5 miles to Mohawk Ski Area and 20 minutes to Metro North.
  • Great location. Stylish, well-designed space with everything you need. Comfortable, quiet stay. Kind, responsive hosts: Pam and her partner went out of their way to help me with the WiFi passcode. Thank you!

    Hong2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Pam responds very quickly and garnishes her cottage with special touches making you feel welcome in a home away form home. We will definitely go back to explore more of the area! You will not be disappointed staying in this well decorated, clean, cozy home away from home.

    Justina2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pam and Walter have provided the perfect home-away-from-home for all types of travelers. The kitchen is perfectly sized and appointed, the location behind Pam and Walt’s home is private and serene, and they are more than happy to help should you ever need anything! I can’t say enough about this stay, except I almost don’t want to post how wonderful it was in case it’s booked next time is like to visit! Thank you, Pam and Walt!

    Meredith2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pam's cottage is truly charming, you won't be disappointed! My husband and I were just there for the night so we could ski at Mohawk Mountain the next day; it was perfect for us and only a few minutes from the mountain. Pam's communication was prompt and warm, her space full of personal touches and so welcoming, and our only complaint is we wish we could have stayed longer! The space is small but really all you need and very clean, the bed is comfortable and the sheets soft, and Pam and Walter have thought of and supplied so many amenities like toiletries, kitchen basics, and a binder full of local recommendations. Pam was also wonderful to communicate with and accommodating with logistics when we needed to arrive late. Check in and out was incredibly easy and to top everything off, the cottage is in a beautiful area with a river rushing by. Thanks Pam for everything!

    Lindsay2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Friends and I booked this cottage as a gift to my brother and sister-in-law. They thoroughly enjoyed their babymoon at this location and are already talking about hoping to return in future. Pam was extremely accommodating and friends and willing to work with us on making the trip feasible to gift. My sister-in-law describes the cottage as adorable and cozy.

    Leah2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a perfect getaway, 10/10 would stay there again.

    Rebecca2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Pam & Walt’s cottage was wonderful. It was such a cozy, tidy, and relaxing place. They left a binder full of suggestions to maximize our comfort and enjoyment in the area, and were extremely quick to reply when we had any questions. We felt right at home and can’t wait to be back.

  • The house is just down the block from the AT hiking trail. We enjoyed cooking in the open and bright kitchen. All the beds were comfortable after a long day of hiking. It was great to have 3 beautiful bathrooms for our party of 6. We enjoyed the bottle of wine and the beautiful tulips that welcomed us when we walked into the house. We highly recommend the house if you are staying in the area!

  • Tanya’s house is clean, stylish, well equipped and conveniently located. My family of six stayed for 3 nights and were very comfortable. The house is a stone’s throw from Salisbury’s town center, 10 minutes from Millerton and 20 from Great Barrington—so a perfect jump-off point for lower-Berkshire/Hudson valley excursions. We heartily recommend the undermountain house to anyone.

    Isaac2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • My Husband and I had the pleasure of staying in Tanya's house for an overnight stay on our way to Vermont. The house is in a great location right up the road from the White Hart Inn. We woke up and had a lovely breakfast at Provisions and then got on the road. Tanya's house is warm and inviting and although we did not get to enjoy the wine she left us we thought it was a lovely gesture. Thank you Tanya. Our Best, Kathy and Alex

    Kathy2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible time at Tanya’s place! Staying here gives you the authentic experience of being in Berkshires. Driving distance to the towns and walking distance to coffee and cute uptown area. Well known restaurant down the street as well. The house was huge and very comfortable. Perfect for families, friends or a romantic trip with your significant other. We entered a sparking clean place with wine and cupcakes waiting for us since it was my birthday weekend. I would definitely book here again!

The house is on a very quiet private road. Lots of privacy and a wonderful forest feeling. The frog pond is close to the house and a small bench is set close to the pond. • Madeline went above and beyond our exceptions. She met us at the door, showed us around, stocked the fridge with yogurt, berries, bread, eggs, coffee and treats. We didn't cook but if we had wanted to, there were plenty of supplies. Everything we could ever need was available, from hair products to fans for sleeping and even hair dryers. The place had more than enough room for the three of us -- we could have easily fit a few more people. We were very comfortable -- Madeline anticipated her guests every need and it was all available! We loved watching the birds outside the living room windows while we sat by the fire -- thank you for providing wood, fire starters and matches! We were lucky with beautiful weather. We were able to hike the Appalachian trail on Friday and Saturday and get in a nice run on Sunday -- with minimal driving. The house is close to Lakeview and Salisbury centers. We had a drink at the White Hart and coffee and pastries at Sweet Williams -- we'd recommend both. To future renters: expect "basic" fixtures, as pictured, i.e. an older kitchen and bath (though the hall bath is new and quite nice!), builder-grade materials, etc, but a fabulous supply of books, games, cards, comfy bedding, throws for lounging, great coffee, luxurious soaps and shampoo. The owner knows how to make guests feel comfortable. The only "odd" part is a sort of septic smell. We noticed it each time we walked in but got used to it almost instantly so it wasn't bothersome. Everything was very clean and in working order so not sure the cause but something to be aware of.

    Molly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Madeline’s home was warm and cozy. A perfect spot for a weekend in Salisbury. She was a thoughtful and gracious host.

    Aimee2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Madeline’s place is just what we were looking for. I was so relieved that it was what was shown in pics and more. The house is very clean and beautiful. This was our first experience with an AirBnB and because it was such a great experience it won’t be our last. Thank you again Madeline for being so accommodating. We had a wonderful vacation where we got to meet our new grandson before Christmas. You won’t regret renting from Madeline. Thank you again!

    Sheila2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Madeline’s and we can’t wait to visit again soon. The house is lovely, immaculate, and in the perfect location. Madeline is the best host and she truly goes above and beyond to make sure her guests are comfortable and having everything they need for a wonderful stay.

    Sarah2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • It has been a joy to stay at Madeline's house. I would recommend it to anyone who is going to be in the area. Would love to try it again in the summertime.

  • Madeline's place was everything described and more! It was absolutely perfect for our family of four and two small pups:) Walking distance from town, yet totally quiet and secluded. If you're into running, walking, hiking, biking or just hanging out in the super comfy living room by the fire, surrounded by windows and natural light, reading, watching the birds on the back porch or your favorite sporting event(volleyball:), this is the perfect place for you! Madeline greeted us and showed us around, offering local tips on hikes, bakeries and restaurants. The fridge was well stocked with everything we needed for breakfast, and there were thoughtful snacks for us to nosh on throughout the day. Most thoughtful were the cupcakes from the delicious local bakery, Sweet William's, Madeline purchased specially for my daughter's 16th birthday:) High end towels, linens and bath products made us feel like VIPs. Thank you, Madeline, for a truly memorable family weekend getaway!

We loved being surrounded by nature, all of the couches to hang out on, the big table to eat together at and the comfy bedrooms. • My family and I traveled to the Berkshires for my daughter's 10th birthday to go snow tubing at Butternut. We thoroughly enjoyed Amanda's place and found it to be exactly as described. The beds are super comfortable and we pulled out the cozy extra blankets when it got chilly. The kitchen has a ton of prep space, and the dining room table was perfect for game night. The house backs up to the sawmill which is on the same property and was closed the entire time we were there. Wasn't a bother at all - would stay again!

    Kade2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Amanda’s place over the Salisbury Jumpfest weekend. The place was warm and cozy and clean. The beds were comfy, and the stock of coffee ready to brew was a very nice touch waking up in the morning. Checking in and out was seamless and could not have been easier. Great stay!

    Natalie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Place was amazingly clean 😍. Very cute house. It is right off a main road and pretty easy to locate. The backyard is a saw mill like people have mentioned, but sound was not an issue next door. For those with dogs the front yard is fenced, some spots a stronger dog could get through, but good if your dogs are trained. We had a wonderful time!!

    Olivia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda’s place is awesome. Located on a beautiful lot with a sawmill in the back, Amanda’s space is stylish and has great Bluetooth speakers and a great deck. There are even outdoor speakers! The yard was big and the neighborhood was beautiful. Thanks for having me.

    Chris2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda was a wonderful hostess! I would definitely recommend her home to anyone visiting the Falls Village area :)

I have a 3-night minimum stay for holiday weekends such as Memorial weekend, and Labor day weekend, etc. The cottage can accommodate 4 people, when the 4 people are 2 couples, but is really ideal for 3 people as one of the bedrooms has a double bed and is tiny. I do not allow guests to sleep on the couch or the floor or install any kind of sleep arrangement on the floor. I have a strict no pet policy - no exceptions.
The cottage is an ideal retreat - any season for 2 or 3 people. It is perfect for parents visiting local schools - Hotchkiss, Salisbury, and Indian Mountain - or those wanting a brief sojourn as they consider relocating to the Northwest Corner. Nestled well off a quiet country lane which, just beyond the property, becomes a steep hiking path - highly favored by locals seeking a challenging workout. At the top (.7 mile) is a cross country ski area, view of Wononscopomuc Lake and the surrounding South Taconic Range and Berkshires. The cottage is fully furnished - living room, eat-in kitchen, one bedroom with a queen bed and second very tiny bedroom with a double bed. My residence is also on the property, so if you like, introduce yourself. I am often there with my family including my grandchildren who may be playing frisbee in the yard, if the weather permits. Pastorale, a nice restuarant is .7 mile - a lovely evening walk, if you are so inclined. A babbling brook runs throug the property. In the summer take a glass of wine in the evening and relax in one of the Adiirondack chairs streamside. Or have dinner on the patio. Lakeville Lake - Wononspocomuc - with swimming, boating and fishing - and the hamlet of Lakeville with yoga classes, art galleries and restuarants - is 1 mile. Salisbury village with cafes, grocery, and gifts shops is 2 miles. Nearby attractions include Music Mountain summer music festivals and Lime Rock Race Track (too far, however, to hear it, except under the rare conditions when the cloud cover and humidity is just right) Butternut, Catamount and Mohawk skiing. Horse back riding Appalacian trail hiking Counrty roads for cycling Housatonic River for canoeing or fishing Salisbury Ski Jump - February 7 - 9, 2104 Nearby schools include the Hotchkiss, Salisbury, Indian Mountain, and Berkshire Schools Car Rental: Autorent, 130 Main Street, Sharon, CT (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) miles from Wassiac Metro North Station - Harlem Line) Stay for a long weekend, week or month.
My neighborhood is usually quiet - there is the occasional lawn mower. A car comes down the road once a every few hours, but many locals wave hello on there way up the hill for a hike.
  • This is a cozy, clean and quiet cottage. Enjoyed our stay.

  • It was an adorable cottage and a very comfortable, clean place to stay! Joan was incredibly hospitable. She provided everything we needed and went out of her way to be helpful. We are super happy with our whole experience!

  • Joan's place was very comfortable and convenient to so many things. Great beds and a lovely view of green space!

    Mary2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Joan's cabin was lovely! a very quiet place to stay, set back on a quiet road and excellent location. the cabin is big, especially for one person, but its a nice cozy country cabin and I very much enjoyed my stay there.

    Chrysanthi2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient cottage in a lovely, quiet garden setting. It had everything we needed for a quick weekend visit to the area. Joan was a considerate, responsive host, and the cottage was clean as a whistle. We were there to visit family so didn't spend much time at the property, but I almost wish that we had had more time just to enjoy the surroundings.

    Catherine2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and charming cabin conveniently located to the town and nearby attractions.

Recently built 500 square-foot one bedroom apartment with separate entrance. Kitchenette. Private screened-in porch overlooking Jug End State Reservation, Mt. Everett and the back of Catamount Ski Area. Three miles from Berkshire School, five miles from the center of Great Barrington and .3 miles from the Appalachian Trail. Queen bed in bedroom; can sleep additional two in living area on sectional sofas. Electric fireplace. Mudroom perfect for storing hiking and ski gear. Very quiet.
  • Ingrids place is clean comfortable and perfect for a couple. The area is great for hiking in the spring, fall, and summer.

    Gretchen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed at Ingrid’s place for a ski trip and it was nothing short of amazing. The amenities, location, cleanliness, and communication was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend Ingrid’s place to anyone looking to stay in the area. We will be returning again soon!

    Taylor2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ingrid's space really exceeded our expectations. There were so many thoughtful and elegant touches. We were impressed! It was a very high quality Airbnb; one of the best we've stayed at. The only thing I'd mention is that an electric fireplace apparently doesn't produce real flame, something that I wasn't aware of when booking. While I may not have booked the space if I was aware that an electric fireplace is more like a space heater, I'm still glad that we stayed there because everything was so lovely otherwise. We wouldn't hesitate to book again if we were in the area.

  • A lovely and scenic spot for two. Very clean, modern and charming all at once. Ingrid was always available for any questions or needs. Highly recommended!

    George2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ingrid’s home is beautiful, cozy and serene and was one of the nicest Airbnbs we have stayed in. She was very communicative about check in instructions, and her home has many thoughtful touches like local recommendations, chocolates, candles and a variety of teas and coffee. We plan to visit again in summer to take advantage of the in enclosed deck!

  • This place was wonderful, quiet and relaxing. I would recommend to family and friends. William was a great host.

  • if u like quiet, easy access to hiking, yet close to town, you will want to stay at bear mt. awesome porch, comfy beds, high end furnishings, easy sleeping.

    Jeannette2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • I’d live there if I could. Bill is warm and welcoming, super responsive, and attentive. Perfectly communicative about important details and helped to orient us as soon as we arrived. The home is a gem....!! a super clean and beautifully adorned, chic cabin. The beds are more comfortable than my own. The kitchen is fully stocked. Comfy couch in front of a beautiful fireplace. My only regret is not spending more time out on the porch which is hands down the biggest porch I’ve ever seen. The home is remote, yet a super quick 5 min drive to the town center. Great hikes all around with unbelievable views. Never knew CT was so beautiful (and I grew up there). Thank you Bill for an unforgettable weekend! We’ll be back.

    Julian2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Bill is a superb host. He laid a real log fire ready for us and chopped extra logs for our second night.

    Jane2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of 5 stayed here two nights for a wedding and it was a great experience. Bill's place is clean, spacious, great location for hiking and very well equipped (full kitchen, extra towels, etc.). Bill was very hospitable and good at communicating about check-in and check-out. He also provided a couple of snacks, which we appreciated a lot! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking to stay in the area.

    Viviana2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place was wonderful and we had such a great stay.

    Jane2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Bill was a great host and very responsive to our needs. The home was comfortable and spacious, well stocked and stylish. We would love to visit again.

    Jillian2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this place! The hosts were fabulous and very knowledgeable about the area. At their suggestion, we checked out a local beach with a playground and places to launch your boat called Town Grove- our daughter loved it! It was super hot while we were there but our hosts made sure we stayed cool. There is a nice long deck accessible from the living room where you can eat a meal, sit on a swing- very relaxing. The house is ideally located, close to some charming towns in NY, CT, and MA, only 20-25 mins to Great Barrington and 45 minutes to Tanglewood. The area is extremely quiet and private. We loved our stay!

  • Liz's place was beautiful, clean, and well-located on a quiet piece of the Berkshires overlooking a field. What made this place so special, though, was Liz's hospitality. We woke up to the smell of gingerbread, which Liz offered us along with tea, and the chance to chat. She was a thoughtful and kind host with a lot of insight into the area. Highly recommend if you're in the Great Barrington area.

    Aaron2019-12-31T00:00:00Z

  • We booked Pierce's place for an overnight stay after a friend's remote wedding. We were offered an open room at their venue that night, so we didn't use our reservation after all. Regardless, Pierce was easy to communicate with and was very accommodating to our situation. If we had stayed, I would be very satisfied with the value and location.

UPDATE: If you are a nurse, doctor, or health care professional needing temporary housing near Sharon Hospital, I am offering need-based discounts for those tasked with keeping our community safe. Please contact me for long-term rates and accommodations. I will give preference to LOCAL persons in need of housing and shelter. Additionally, if you are on rotation at the hospital and concerned about cross-contamination, but only need housing 3-4 days per week, I will pro-rate the long term for the days you need and NOT book around you so that you may rest assured the residence is vacant during your absence. Additionally, if you are a student, traveller, or other person who suddenly finds themselves stranded because of travel restrictions, delays, closures, or health issues; or, you are seeking shelter from populated areas; or, you have a family member nearby, I will provide appropriate crisis related discounts to accommodate you. If you are seeking refuge from NYC and are coming to our community to shelter, please do so with respect and caution. Tell me about your plans to quarantine when you arrive and if you have had any significant exposures. Our community is friendly and open, but we also want to know that you are coming with our safety and yours as a priority. An outbreak is not the time for a vacation. The rental unit is isolated from the main house, is cleaned and disinfected after every guest and regularly, and is away from close-quarters lodging and high-risk crowds and contamination in more heavily populated areas. There is a 3 acre yard, quiet screened sitting area, and for the time being, there is meal delivery from a local restaurant. This is an 'in-law' apartment in a larger house. There is a separate entry, and all areas are private and dedicated to guest occupancy only. The booking will include two private queen bedrooms, a living room with dining table, a kitchen, bath, and 3-season porch for sitting and entertaining. The house features wood flooring, crown molding, and antique cast-iron radiators.
The NW Corner of Connecticut is rural and secluded, but also convenient to so much! My property is only a mile or so from the Appalachian Trail for those hikers who need a break from tents and lean-tos; but it's also only 20 minutes from the Wassaic station on the Harlem Valley Line to NYC. You'll be close to a wide array of arts, crafts, outdoor, and shopping activities as well as several of the private schools like Hotchkiss, Kent, Salisbury, and Marvelwood. The Trinity Retreat is about a ten minute walk across the river and Music Mountain and Sharon Playhouse are each about 15 minutes by car.

Our host Angela very kindly left some basic food amenities for us (coffee, milk, butter, eggs, etc), which was great to have in the morning since there are no grocery stores in the town. We would definitely stay there again!

  • This place is incredible! Surpassed all expectations, Elisabeth and Ricky are the most generous and kind hosts I’ve ever encountered. Made the whole experience extra wonderful. Home is so beautiful and clean too.

  • Elisabeth and Ricky’s Berkshires apartment in Sheffield is absolutely incredible. The space was pristine with well thought amenities such as fresh eggs, milk, kitchen accessories and other that made our stay tremendous... you can easily stay and cook meals right in their renovated and spacious kitchen. The home is very comfortable and had special touches throughout — excellent Wifi, teas and coffee with coffee makers, toasters, microwave and stove. Bathrooms were stocked with everything in case you forgot one of those needed toiletries. Bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of storage and extra blankets/pillows. This wasn’t our first visit to the Berkshires but there is plenty of information regarding activities and places of interest that made planning any excursions simple and easy. Loved everything about Copper Hill and will definitely be staying again in the future!!

    Vincent2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay with beautiful scenery. The airbnb was extremely clean, relaxing, and very close to many points if interest in the Berkshire's. Elisabeth offered lots of helpful suggestions and stocked the place with helpful amenities (breakfast items, tea, flashlights toiletries, etc). Perfect place for a weekend getaway, highly recommend, we hope to return in the future during foliage.

    Amor2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Elisabeth & Ricky well deserve the title "super hosts". Their property and apartment are wonderful. They are conscientious and warm hosts. You wont need anything more than a toothbrush for your stay. Their lovely personal touches will make you feel welcomed and appreciated in a way you wouldn't experience even in a five star resort. This space is absolutely perfect for anyone seeking peace and tranquility. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

    Isa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Elisabeth and Ricky's place is absolutely spectacular! Not only are the views amazing, the small touches throughout this cozy little space really make this place extra special. From eggs from their chickens, to the fixings provided for a yummy breakfast, to the super comfy bed, this is definitely a spot that we will be returning to in the spring/summer.

    Tina2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cozy, homey place to stay. Elizabeth was a great host and made our stay amazing!

    Amy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • 10 out of 10 would recommend to a friend. Very clean apartment with everything you need for a great weekend.

    Brandon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot recommend this spot highly enough. Clean, cozy and bright with wonderfully thoughtful touches. The farm fresh eggs and local honey were incredible, and Ricky and Elisabeth were very informative and hospitable hosts. We did a great nearby hike up Alander Mountain and checked out the local brewery / distillery in Sheffield. Great Barrington and Stockbridge were also fun to explore, and we enjoyed some scenic runs and walks just out the back door of the property. The kitchen is very functional and we had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner each day. Would stay here again, no question!

Nestled between the Berkshires and the rolling farmlands of the Hudson Valley, The Ancram A is perfectly situated for your Upstate getaway. This unique A-Frame was originally built in the 60s and then reimagined in 2012 with modern luxuries. The cabin is on a lake so grab a towel and head down for a swim. 25 min from bustling Hudson and Great Barrington. 15 min from quaint Millerton. Also, there are many farms to visit. We look forward to sharing our picturesque hamlet of Upstate NY with you.
Our cozy cabin is outfitted to make your stay as comfortable and easy as possible. There is a projector screen with Roku and a game bin for nights in. Outside, we have a smoker and a BBQ near our fire-pit and welcome you to cook and hang outside. Every room has a fireplace and two out of the three bedrooms have private decks. Please read the Information Packet upon arrival for all the details. We also have posted tutorials on how to build a fire and use the projector on our Instagram: @the.ancram.a
The Lower Rhoda Lake Association was a teachers colony in the 1930s. Many of the locals spent their summers around the lake. Shore Dr is a pedestrian path to the water. Sometimes you may see a neighbor walking their dog or going for a run. Everyone is very friendly and are proud of the community. There are many farms close by ranging from berries, tomatoes, cattle, poultry, dairy, and even flowers. We love grabbing a bite at The Copake General Store and going for a hike. We will have a recommendations list available online and at the cabin.
  • This cabin is a dream! Where to start?! A fireplace in each bedroom makes this place so unique. Each room is stylishly decorated and has modern, artsy vibes. The pull down projector was so fun at night and made us feel like we were in the movies. And the heated floors were so cool! We also spent some time outside at the fire pit. In warmer weather there’s lake access nearby. Ariella and Adam were great hosts, very communicative and made sure the cabin was stocked with everything you need. We hope to come back again soon!

    Jamie2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ariella & Adam's Ancram A is an incredibly picturesque, cozy and unique place for a getaway with friends or family. The hosts are very attentive to any needs or questions that may arise during your stay. The space is absolutely stunning, and comfortably accommodates six people. Great food, hikes, farms and attractions are all within a 30 minute-radius, with nearby Copake as a great town with all your essential needs. After spending a weekend there, it was very clear that this is a special place that makes for an unforgettable trip.

    Jonathan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ariella and Adam’s A-frame is totally perfect. From the thoughtful touches (local Irving Farm coffee), beautiful and comfortable interiors, and modern luxuries (gorgeous and efficient fireplaces) this is a picture-perfect Hudson Valley getaway for friends. The location is in great proximity to cute towns, delicious restaurants, hikes, and farmstands, yet still remote. Ariella and Adam’s guide to the house and the area is really helpful. Would absolutely come back.

    Margo2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ariella and Adams aframe was absolutely perfect. It is very clean, trendy and surprisingly spacious. Their home is full of thoughtful touches like heaters in each room, projection screen for a perfect movie night, mood lighting and stylish accents. We will be back as soon as we can be.

    Lauren2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment I arrived I was blown away. It was a truly a dream scenario. Walk in and notice the spacious, yet cozy quality this place offers. Everything is new and beautiful. The tiles are heated, there’s a projector in the main room with a sweet sound system. 3 bedrooms , trees all around with a lake nearby. An extremely peaceful and satisfying time. Super romantic upstairs, and the ability to make a nice little fire in any room is really something special. Definitely the best Air bnb I’ve ever been to. Thanks Ariella and Adam

  • Super host! Very accommodating !

  • For those looking for a great location near the Hotchkiss campus, you can't beat the guest house between the lakes. It offers a comfortable, immaculate setting that is peaceful and centrally located to take advantage of all that NW Connecticut, Massachusetts and NY have to offer. Great hiking, skiing and charming New England villages and mountain towns are easy day drives away allowing you to return to the tranquility of the guest house that is quiet, well appointed with a great kitchen, comfortable rooms and on-site facilities that allow for extended excursions in the area. Thank you Benjamin for being an amazing host and I can't wait for my next trip to the area.

    Rob2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place and Benjamin is a wonderful host

    Krishna2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect accommodation for a couple - we were so comfortable - great location. heat, bed, bathroom, linens, kitchen- it all worked out great and Ben was available if we had questions. lots of space so our grandchildren could visit and color or cook. plus 2 televisions in 2 different rooms! we were wired. we would love to come back. Thank you.

    Laura2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you re visiting Lakeville, this charming barn is the perfect retreat. We loved having the extra space as well as having a full kitchen. Ben was a wonderful host- he usually responded within minutes, answering any questions we had. We would definitely stay there again!

    Kelly2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home and property on lovely setting right next to Hotchkiss. We hosted a group of many families including the guest house and it was perfect for that purpose. We would certainly come again and would recommend to others. The slight drawback is that the house is an older home and while it's 80% awesome and they've done a good job of renovating, it is a little "charming" in the secondary bedroom areas in particular. As long as you come with expectations appropriately, you should have a great time.

    Alex2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ben is an outstanding host. The home was beautiful - the proprietors have done a remarkable job of retaining all the charm and character of a quintessential farmhouse while updating the things that matter most such as kitchen and bed / bed linens and towels with quality pieces comparable to the kinds one might select for one's own home. The fittings and decor were also so beautifully curated. A truly stylish and peaceful retreat. The photos do not do justice to the beauty of the place which enjoys much larger volumes than reflected online. Also, the host is very kind and communicative.

    Katherine2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay here! Everything was perfect for a last minute getaway with our labradoodle. Beautiful place, inside and out. Enjoyed sitting outside with my morning coffee and walking around the property. Location is great for enjoying Salisbury and Millerton. Pass to the Town Grove was a bonus - enjoyed an afternoon at the lake. Benjamin was a wonderful host, great communicating.

  • We really enjoyed our experience at Jane's Dacha. We stayed over during a ski trip with family and kids. The house is comfortable with a good sized living room with cathedral ceiling finished in wood. Pantry is well stocked with basics which allowed us to cook and spend time togetther. Jane was very helpful and quick to reply to all our questions.

    Dona2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jane was a fantastic host, super responsive and accommodating. The cabin was perfect for our young skiing family and we look forward to coming back.

    Katie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place is set in a cozy wooded area just 15 minutes from Catamount Ski Resort. The house is clean, the kitchen is exceptionally well stocked, and the bedrooms are dark, quiet and comfortable. Jane provides thoughtful touches such as firewood, fire starter, and marshmallow sticks for s'mores, which our kids loved. There are lots of comfy places to curl up with a book - my favorite was the rocker/recliner. A word to parents of young children: the stairs are quite steep and the railing is spaced wide enough for a child to fall through. The babygates provided were not anchored to the walls, and therefore weren't a good solution for our very active (pushing/climbing) older toddler, but may work fine for a different family.

    Jill2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 2 nights at Jane's place. Cozy and welcoming. Jane is very easy to communicate with. Great location for hikers at less than 15 min around. I fully recommend!

    Jeremy2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place is amazing! We had a great time, everything was perfectly clean, the location was superb, and the cabin is super cozy and comfy! Totally recommended!

  • Really special house in super cute tiny village. Totally unique use of the space. Kitchen was perfect for group dinners, living room great for fires and games and the swing...that swing. Bedrooms were cool and bathrooms are great. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a funky get-together spot.

  • Really night, bright lighting during the day, cozy, interesting, and affordable. Easy to get to and lots of space.

    Shelley2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clifton's place is wonderful. We stayed for a few days through New Year's eve with another family of four. It's a big open space while cozy at the same time. We cooked over the open fire and enjoyed making meals in the big kitchen (fully stocked with every kitchen implement you could need) and sitting around the long table and fire, playing cards, reading, enjoying the swing. The kids put on a play - you can't resist in that space. The beds are extra comfortable and the bathrooms are beautiful. The nearby trails are excellent. We had a few great hikes up Bear Mountain and to see Rand's View. In sum, a truly excellent, peaceful and relaxing few days.

  • This is a great property in a beautiful location. I stayed while attending the races at Lime Rock and the place was very near the track and very convenient. It will certainly be my property of choice when I visit the area again.

  • We had a wonderful time in Clifton's marvelous Artist's Sudio. It is an amazing space that exudes creativity. I traveled to Falls Village to hike on the Appalachian Trail, and Clifton was gracious and helped us with transportation to the start of our hike. His homemade bread was fantastic. We had two dogs in tow, and couldn't have asked for a more dog-friendly location. I simply can't wait to return!!!

Bright, cheery, peaceful and cozy studio apartment in a quiet rural town, near the attractions of the Berkshires and close to the many private schools: Hotchkiss, Berkshire and Salisbury. "Impeccably clean, gorgeous space, outstanding attention to detail. Laurie and Michael’s spot has the feel of staying at a boutique hotel for a better price than you would ever find at one, especially in western CT. " - Ramon C. Private entry, full bath, queen bed, stove, coffee/tea. Private & peaceful.
This is a large yet cozy studio apartment with a comfy queen-sized bed, a kitchenette (stove, oven, toaster, coffee maker and small fridge), a fully stocked cupboard with tableware, glassware and cutlery, and a renovated bathroom with shower. The apartment is furnished with antiques and a few homemade touches. We just repainted and upgraded the WiFi to a state-of-the-art system. The entrance is private; come and go as you please. The space is very quiet and opens onto a garden and acres of woods, ready for exploring. This is a convenient, affordable option when visiting the many Berkshires attractions like skiing, hiking, biking or cultural centers like Tanglewood, Lime Rock, Shakespeare & Co, or visiting one of the many nearby boarding schools: Hotchkiss, Salisbury, Berkshire, IMS. PLEASE NOTE: if you would like to use the air mattress (the 2nd bed), please make your reservation as a party of three.
The house is in a quiet New England town, close to loads of outdoor activities and culture. The ski areas of Butternut, Mohawk and Catamount are nearby. The local towns don't get much more quaint: Salisbury, Great Barrington and Stockbridge. For culture there's the Norman Rockwell Museum, Berkshire Botanical Gardens, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Shakepeare & Co., and Berkshire Theater Festival. There is great year-round hiking and three-season biking nearby. It's within 15 minutes of the four major private schools in the area. There are two gas stations, quaint diners and a large grocery store within two blocks of the apartment. We have a whole list of recommendations for eating and recreation upon your arrival. FAQs about distances: Hotchkiss, Salisbury and Berkshire are all about 10-15 minutes away. Great Barrington is 20-25 minutes away. Kripalu and Tanglewood are about 35-40 minutes away. That's Stockbridge, too. Geer and the Mountainside are literally down the street.

  • We greatly enjoyed our stay in Lakeville at Troy’s place!

  • I cannot say enough about this cozy little apartment. Troy made sure we felt right at home. The check in and check out process was absolutely painless...and he was always extremely easy to reach when I had a query...and very warm and welcoming. He even collected my delivered packages and brought them to my door! The apartment is well equipped and extremely clean with lots of thoughtful touches including a little welcome basket of snacks which proved invaluable for the mornings I was dashing out the door! There was also a comprehensive folder of local restaurants and menus which I also found very useful. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Thanks Troy!!

  • Place is beautiful and clean. Troy and his wife are beautiful kind people. They live little snacks and amenities that you don’t realize you need until you need it. If you are in the area there is no better place to stay.

WEEKEND SPECIAL: COME FRIDAY LEAVE MONDAY AM. Our NW Connecticut retreat is equidistant from NYC and Boston and sits on 23 wooded acres with a serene, private spring-fed swimming pond. Newly built in 2012, it has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, den, fireplace, modern art & beautiful furnishings including mid-century modern standouts. Near Hotchkiss and Salisbury Schools, Catamount, Appalachian Trail, Millerton, Hudson, Great Barrington, Music Mountain, MassMOCA, Jacob's Pillow & Tanglewood.
We built our beautiful dream house--and then I got a job in California. Barnlike on the outside, inside our place is sleek and modern and built for a relaxed, elegant, grownup life in all seasons. We like to cook and eat with friends, tramp through the woods to the dock and dive into our private swimming hole in summer, watch the sunrise through the trees, sit outside under the stars at night, and curl up with a good book in front of the fireplace or in one of the hammocks. Three queen beds, a queen sofabed in the office, a blow-up bed and a single couch for overflow, plus 3.5 baths, mean there's plenty of room and privacy. Front porch gets sun in the morning, back patio in the afternoon, and the dock and utterly private pond are beautiful in every season. For special accommodations outside our settings, please feel free to email us. [We are rented long-term from September 2019-May 2020 and will be in the house ourselves for most of the summer.]
Salisbury is a beautiful colonial town with one main street, a well-stocked grocery (LaBonne's), several very good restaurants (The White Hart in Salisbury, The Woodland in Lakeville, Serevan in Amenia, No. 9 in Millerton), a beautiful historic library, and numerous outdoor attractions, from the Town Grove (swimming in summer) to hiking on the Appalachian Trail (trailheads just down the road). In Sharon (15 minutes), several farms host pick-your-own apple weekends, and Lime Rock racetrack has frequent events including antique car shows. Great Barrington (shopping at Guido's, an excellent grocery store, plus concerts, movies and yoga) is 20 minutes, Millerton about 15 (good movie theater and restaurants). Catamount ski area is 20 minutes, and Hudson's antiques and art galleries and great food are 35 minutes away. We have a list of favorite hikes if you're interested.
  • Peggy and Sean's place is the perfect retreat or getaway. Perfectly situated and tucked away in the woods — the home is elegantly and thoughtfully designed in every way— and you have access to beautiful nature and towns around you. Could not recommend more!

  • My Husband and I stayed in Peggy and Sean's home for three nights over the Holidays. It is a lovely home with great flare and energy. The home is very well designed and we woke up in the mornings and had our coffee around the big table in the kitchen before setting off for our daily adventures. We loved this property and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hope to return in the New Year. Thank you Peggy and Sean for opening up your wonderful home to us. Our best, Kathy and Alex

  • Peggy and Sean's home was even more fabulous than what we had imagined. It is spacious, filled with light- a great open space that brings in the outdoors and in the best location close to the town of Salisbury with its amenities and great eateries. We had a long xmas weekend with our adult children sitting by the fireplace cooking good meals and spending precious time together. Peggy and Sean were very responsive to anything we needed and that is always very gratifying. We are planning to return many times.

  • Outstanding. My sister and I, along with two friends we haven't seen in years, just got back from our girls weekend stay at Peggy and Sean's place and it was amazing. Gorgeous house, with everything you could possibly think of provided by them. Kitchen was great to cook in, beds were so comfortable, wonderful music choices, books, furnishings were beautiful and comfortablel. If they will have us, we'd love to return next year. Thank you Peggy and Sean. We had an amazing time.
