Breathtaking 2 Bedroom Luxury Cornish Cottage with Panoramic Sea & Harbour Views with Hot Tub - Featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces Situated on a beautiful bay in South Cornwall where seals & dolphins are regularly spotted & local fisherman bring in their daily catch. Less than 5 minutes walk to the local restaurants, bars, pubs, ice-cream shops & ancient Grade 2 listed Port showcasing exquisite tall ships and famous for the film set of Poldark & Alice In Wonderland
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland...and most recently George Clarke, who featured Harbour Lights, formerly known as the ‘Loo with a View', on his hugely popular ‘Amazing Spaces' TV programme. It's not hard to see why George was so captivated by the intricate work lovingly carried out on this imaginative and elegantly restored property.  Built in 1771 as a fish and net cellar, the building was later renovated into public conveniences before we rescued it from its ramshackle state in 2015.  The building has now been fully renovated into a truly luxurious pet-friendly two-bedroomed holiday hideaway, full of natural character and marine-inspired style, featuring truly unsurpassed sea views from the cliff top.  Great care and attention has been taken with the design and furnishing of every room to ensure perfect harmony with the beautiful coastal surroundings.  Ancient reclaimed timber décor and solid oak doors add chic touches of time-honoured style, alongside the more contemporary pure white Italian marble worktops and soft grey backgrounds that perfectly complement the magnificent bay and harbour views from the windows. The ground floor encompasses a spacious open-plan living area, described by George Clarke as fabulously "light and airy", featuring a fully furnished designer kitchen that looks out across the harbour.  Fire up the stylish log burner and watch the ships as they glide languidly by! Take the stairs and discover two exquisite bedrooms, one large double featuring glorious views over the harbour and Charlestown Bay - with a luxurious Heritage bath right at the bottom of the bed.  The second, slightly smaller, bedroom features a beautiful view of the garden area. You'll also find a stunning Italian marble and stainless steel furnished en-suite, and a utility area and walk-in wardrobe featuring fitted storage, washer-dryer, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Underfloor heating and a Sonos sound system with three independent zones runs throughout, so that wherever you happen to be, you'll be effortlessly able to set the perfect mood! Simply download the Sonos App on your smart phone and away you go! The views become even better outside, when experienced with a glass of bubbles from the lavish four-seater hot tub looking out across the sea!  There's a slate patio with wash off area that's particularly handy after a sandy day on the beach, and a beautiful garden with decked terraces and colourfully lush flowers and plants that have been carefully selected to make the most of their surroundings. Discover Harbour Lights' namesake at the end of the garden...a quaint little lookout shed which in times past was home to the searchlight that guided the Tall Ships safely into harbour.  Here you'll find two benches carved from the old roof timbers, creating the perfect romantic hideaway. Oh - and just in case you're wondering whether any remnants of the building's former history remain, hanging proudly above the downstairs bathroom are the original ‘ladies' and ‘gentlemen' signs… We just couldn't bring themselves to flush those away! You'll find it extremely difficult to tear yourself away from this sea sanctuary, but if you decide to venture out and about, why not take your dog to Charlestown beach for a run, perhaps with some seal and dolphin-spotting along the way?  Watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch before taking yourselves off to indulge in a gourmet seafood meal at the award-winning Falmouth Bay Seafood Café in Truro, another of our stylish dog-friendly retreats. The ancient Grade 2 listed port is steeped in historical architecture...along with a glittering touch of celebrity from its regular use as a film set. So set sail to Harbour Lights and enjoy an invigorating and relaxing break with genuinely breathtaking sea views you won't forget in a hurry!
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland. Go off in any direction along the coast and you’ll find a range of wonderful cafes and restaurants.
  • Harbour Lights will knock your socks off if you are after a relaxing break with great views and facilities

  • This is a special place, in particular for a 'couples getaway'. We went as a family (two teenage girls) and though a squeeze in the spare room for the girls we all found it a great place to spend a week exploring the local walks, beaches and food. Notwithstanding our stay included a visit from 'Storm Dennis' it was a fantastic week and we enjoyed watching the weather coming into the bay.

  • Really lovely place in a great location with lovely restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Charlotte was a great host who was available to help with anything required. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks! X

  • What a nice place harbour lights is. Location is perfect with amazing views & the accommodation is brilliant.

  • This really is a ‘gem’ — absolutely stunning property with luxury finish, in a truly superb location! Walking distance to local beaches, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and everything you will need. We never used our car at all during our stay, and wakening up to the sea views every morning...just ‘wow’!!

  • Well where do I start!! The property it’s self is nothing short of amazing. Charlotte kindly accommodated an early check in which was much appreciated. My dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay with lovely complimentary doggie bags. The views from the hot tub are to die for and there was nothing better than relaxing in the bath looking out at the ocean at the end of the day. The scones and the bubbly definitely made it that little bit more special if that’s even possible! Charlestown is beautiful and the recommendations from the welcome pack where much appreciated. Longstore was a special place for a very nice steak. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to be able to stay again soon.

    Toni2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Charlotte and Joey’s place is a gem! A wonderful location with spectacular views and easy access to quaint Charlestown. Charlotte went above and beyond by getting us a travel crib for our 20 month old. I will miss the relaxing nights of hearing the ocean from the master bedroom and relaxing in the hot tub. Charlotte even had scones, Cornish cream, milk and bubbly awaiting ya upon our arrival! A class act. Not to mention the place was spotless and had everything you needed and more. The closest Tesco is about a mile away so make sure you get essentials before getting there. Charlotte had general hand soap and shower gel but if you need laundry detergent and shampoo you’ll want to bring it for your stay.

Nestled between St Austell and Carlyon Bay, Charlestown is a picturesque, historic fishing port on the South East coast of Cornwall.Having largely resisted the modernisation and commercialisation of some other popular destinations, Charlestown has held onto it's unique, quintessential Cornish charm. For this reason, it has been a popular backdrop to a number of film and television projects, including Poldark, Dr Who and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Steeped in history, no visit would be complete without a trip to the Charlestown shipwreck and Heritage centre, which exhibits a fascinating array of artefacts, stories and information about the village and it's maritime history. Aside from the museum, Charlestown also has a couple of art galleries, a harbourside pub boasting excellent views, a small sandy beach and a number of small shops to browse your way through.Once a year the village holds its annual Regatta: a week long event featuring watersports, games, sports competitions and a carnival, all to raise money for the village. With plenty to while away a very pleasant day, Charlestown is well worth a visit.

  • A great house in a great location! We appreciated having a dog-friendly house in this great location. We loved being able to walk down to the Charlestown beach each morning and evening, be within 5-10 minutes drive of beaches at Porthpean, Carlyon, and Par, and so close to grocery stores (Tesco, ASDA, and Lidl) for supplies for self-catering. The house was lovely and warm, stylish, and exactly what we were looking for. Would love to come back at some point.

Small double bedroom with adjacent private bathroom in a modern and professional home. The bedroom itself is relatively small however perfectly suitable for one person. South facing and decorated in neutral colours the room has an airy feel to it, you’ll find a small double (4ft / 1.2m wide) bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress, single mirrored wardrobe, chest of drawers, a side table and one bedside cabinet.
The room is laid out with the bed against the wall so as to allow more space for moving around. If this is not an issue you may find that it is suitable for two people. Other items in the room include; Touch lamp on bed side cabinet, television with Freeview, hairdryer, iron & ironing Board, oversized king-sized light weight duvet and four pillows. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is used only by this room, it has a toilet, basin and bath with shower over, also in the bath room you will find the following; Bath towel, hand towel, flannel, bath mat, shampoo, conditioner & toilet roll. It may be possible for you to use the washing machine but please confirm this first and bear in mind there is only an outside washing line for drying so you’ll need to time the weather right! It is a modern semi-detached three-bedroom house positioned at the end of the close and subsequently has a calm and relaxing feel to it, the house is clean, tidy and well-presented and I am very lucky to have lovely neighbours. I live here with my three cats, Josie, Tilly & Teddy who are naturally convinced that they are in charge and subsequently roam freely (please keep your doors closed if you don't want to have guests of your own). There is a well-equipped kitchen if you wish to prepare any meals – just be sure to load the dishwasher and try to be finished by ten so that I can get my beauty sleep! Opposite the house is a dedicated private and off-road drive for you to park a car. The back garden is split over two levels, please feel free to make use of the top level where you’ll find a selection of garden furniture available on the lawn. Please feel free to use the sitting room during the working week days, I do reserve this to myself for the evening and weekends though. House requests Other than respecting the non-smoking policy please just be mindful of the time and noise levels within the house after 10pm If you wish to stay up chatting after this then the conservatory off the kitchen is a great relaxed place for this.
The house is built on a recent housing development in Par, Par is a village and fishing port with a harbour on the south Cornish coast set between Charlestown and Fowey.
  • Matthew was a fabulous host and the accommodation itself is great — exactly as it is described. A great room for both short and long term stays being close to many attractions. Having the shops in Par and the beach within walking distance is handy. You’d be hard pressed to find a more helpful, friendly, and welcoming host than Matthew.

Little Poppies is a light and airy self-contained annexe with its own access; it is exclusively for the use of guests. We are situated on the outskirts of St Austell, within 5 minutes of Porthpean & Charlestown beaches. The property is a sun trap with a Mediterranean feel, sun beds are available on the decking area which are ideal if you are looking forward to some relaxation. Enjoy an evening of gazing at the stars from the lovely private hot tub in our garden.
Little Poppies is a self-contained annexe exclusively for use of guests. The annexe is accessed via it's own front door; it has a kitchen, bedroom/lounge area, bathroom and access to garden with hot tub. Shampoo, shower gel, WiFi, tea/coffee, orange juice, bottled water, range of cereals, towels, bed linen, extra blankets and toilet rolls are provided. Ideally situated on the South Coast of Cornwall, with numerous beaches, coastal and woodland walks and attractions such as Charlestown, Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project, Fowey and Mevagissey. Charlestown harbour is approximately 15 minutes walk away; the harbour is unspoilt, listed and has been used recently as a key location for filming the remake of Poldark. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and gift shops to be enjoyed whilst taking in the breathtaking views out over St Austell Bay. St Austell is in mid Cornwall and is a great central location for Cornwall as there are a number of beautiful places within easy reach. There are a number of supermarkets nearby; Asda is within walking distance. We are dog lovers and have a number of small family pets including a few rescue dogs, they are very friendly and are always eager to meet new people. They do have access to the garden, however, we are able to manage them separately if you wish to use the garden.
Quiet, friendly neighbourhood, a truly wonderful place to live.
  • Our stay at Little Poppies was far better than we could ever have expected. We knew it was a lovely place from the pictures seen on Airbnb but Lindsay and Tony's hospitality and their attention to detail topped it off and made our weekend in St Austell perfect. The place has a real homely feel to it and there were numerous extra bits provided such as books and games as well as information about the area to name a few. We will definitely be staying again!

    Krishan2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Poppies is the ideal place to stay and explore St Austell and Cornwall in general. The home is maintained to excellent standards and there are several little touches that will make you feel at home right away! Lindsay and her partner Tony were warm, kind, receptive and super helpful. I would 100% recommend this air bnb.

    Shani2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! This was my first ever stay in an Air bnb, and I would definitely reccomend Little Poppies. The place was really beautiful and all the little thoughtful touches just made the stay even better. The hot tub was just perfect for relaxing in after a day of adventuring and exploring the area. Lindsay, Tony & Chloe were fab hosts. Nothing was too much trouble; they really went above and beyond. Thank you x

    Katharine2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay and Tony are great hosts, very welcoming and helpful. Little Poppies is a delightful space, stylishly decorated and has everything you could ever need (including prosecco and a cream tea waiting for you on arrival!). Overall we would highly recommend this air Bnb :)

  • Lindsay's place is a great place to stay if you are visiting Cornwall. It is very clean and so pretty! There are so many thoughtful touches- you notice more & more of them the longer you stay. And it was so reasonably priced! I'm glad it was within our budget.

    Merlyn2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Lindsay and Tony’s place The Little Poppies and it was spectacular! Lindsay and Tony were wonderful hosts and made our stay far better than we could have ever expected. It was amazing looked after and clean and had all the best little touches that really blew our mind and the Hot Tub was just the cherry on top in the private garden. It was the best way to end every day. We would highly recommend staying at The Little Poppies. We would definitely go back the next time we go back to Cornwall.

  • A brilliant apartment with great facilities in a wonderful location. Very highly recommended.

    Bonnie2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolute GEM of a home, with wonderful hosts. I decided on a weekend away (alone) not having done anything like this before, and can say hand on heart I had the most amazing time. Lindsey and Tony showed me around, and most importantly how to use the hot tub, but then leave you to get on with things privately without interference, although you know if you need them they are only next door. Little Poppies is just idyllic, the attention to detail is faultless with little added touches to make you truly feel 'at home'. Home made scones, fresh orange, and all types of tea and coffee, among a variety of other delights await you, there is no need to worry about shampoo or shower cream these are all provided too!.... The hot tub was amazing after a day of walking around taking in the fab scenery, an added bonus to this incredible home... I did not want to leave, and have been telling everyone of this wonderful find. Am definitely going back to Little Poppies again. Thank you so much Lindsay and Tony, truly cannot wait to come back again x

Modern house with a lovely garden in a quiet estate. Less than a 5 minute walk to the train/bus station, which has direct links to the Eden Project, London and the North. The town centre is also less than a 5 minute walk away. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, gas hob, kettle, toaster, washing machine, dryer, etc. A bright, spacious lounge opens onto the garden through double doors. The driveway has room for two cars and parking is also available on the road.
The house will have new furniture to what is shown in the photos. Guests are welcome to use the kayaks, fishing rods, bbq, and whatever other fun things you can find in the garage. Please be respectful of neighbours; the estate is primarily occupied by young families who have to wake up early for jobs and school runs.
Most people who come to St Austell come for the things it's close to: beautiful beaches, amazing gardens and of course, the Eden Project. Don't get me wrong, these are all very good reasons to visit! But there are two little gems I'd like to give a mention that are within walking distance of the house. The first is the mining museum of Wheal Martyn. St Austell was a clay mining town after all, and the museum does a fantastic job of taking you through the history of the clay mining industry and how everything worked. With a wealth of indoor displays and a beautiful outside area to explore, there are a number of ways to enjoy your visit there. The second is Menacuddle Well, which is a magical little place that is free to visit. It lies just outside of town, where the St Austell river flows through the valley. It's not a tourist destination, there are no toilets or cafes, just a few very old man-made structures (including a small waterfall) in a woodland clearing that was recently unearthed and is now maintained. Unfortunately it is right next to a busy road, but once you're down at the water's edge you can hardly hear it, and the whole place is very peaceful and calming. I'll be more than happy to provide maps for walking or driving to each of these places, as well as some tips to stay off of the roads as much as possible if walking.

Mevagissey is a wonderful little Cornish fishing village in South East Cornwall. Ideally located within easy reach of both The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. The tiny seaside village is packed with old Cornish cottages complete with narrow alleyways leading to converted fish cellars offering gift shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Once a major Pilchard port, now the harbour boasts a smaller fleet, many of which provide sea tours, or boat trips to Fowey situated further up the South coast. The Harbour provides an ideal back drop for a fish and chip supper, followed by a stroll through the town at dusk. With a eight minute drive to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and 30 minutes to the Eden Project, Mevagissey provides a excellent location for the keen gardener. Gorran Haven nearby offers an alternative day out as well as Pentewan with its fresh water dock basin. You can continue south along the coast down to Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Cliff walks in all directions along the coast offer spectacular views out across the St Austell Bay.
  • Great location and great accommodation, we will definitely come back to Ferryman’s Cottage.

  • This was just what we needed for two for a week; we needed Friday to Friday and not many were available. Excellent views over the inner harbour. Quiet location, almost no traffic underneath, only occasional foot traffic immediately in front (probably a bit different in summer?). Not large but very comfortable. Nice to have a real bath after a wet walk. Very narrow and quite steep stairs; no worry for us but could be a problem for some. Electric hob very basic old-fashioned style but quite adequate. The wifi key was not visible and asking the 'host' Richard said I should ask the housekeeper which wasn't as helpful as it should have been. I didn't bother as we had good 4G reception and a goody bag with plenty of data, and I think it unlikely the housekeeper would have known; it doesn't strike me as part of their role. If you really need wifi double-check details before booking. Richard is not really the host, but agent for cornwallscottages, but in his role as host as far as Airbnb is concerned he should have been more helpful.

  • This cottage is even prettier in real life than it is in the photos, and that's saying something! We came here directly after our wedding, hoping for a quiet, relaxing few days on the Cornish coast, and it was exactly what we were hoping for. Richard sent very detailed and easy-to-follow instructions very early on, which was extremely helpful, especially given how busy we were before leaving. The house itself couldn't be better located - the sea, the harbour and the town all just a few steps away - but also extremely quiet and peaceful. It is beautifully furnished, very clean and cosy. The town itself is lovely, with plenty to do nearby and the coastal path easily accessible. All in all we had a wonderful few days and would recommend this to anyone.

  • This cottage was the perfect break away from the stress of everyday life. The cottage itself is very beautiful with lots of character. It is perfectly located on the harbour with stunning views and easy walking distance to the pubs / restaurants. This cottage was so good we will definitely be back again.

  • Has a wonderful week long stay in the beautiful Mevagissey. The cottage is very quaint and in a perfect location. The view of the working harbour is exceptional. The cottage has everything you could need. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to use. Comfy bed, good storage space just outside. The bath was great and the shower too. We loved having a real fire in December. There was even wifi, which we weren't expecting! There is a fairly steep climb to the cottage, so anyone with mobility issues may want to consider this. But in less than a minute you can be at the harbour side. The car had to be parked across the harbour, about 3/4 km away, but a pleasant walk looking at the boats and shops (and seagulls!) even in the rain. Easy to unload and load your luggage just below the cottage, but may be a little trickier at the height of tourist season. We have stayed in Meva on several occasions, but this is our new favourite place to stay and we will be back. There was even a very lovely ginger cat who invited himself in, which we were very pleased about! Such a friendly chap. We shall give him full marks on Catadvisor. (His name is Willow or 'The Harbour Master' and he belongs to a woman called Molly who lives up the road! There is also Ralph, a black cat, who is also a great local feline!)

    Claire2018-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Had a really great couple of days at the cottage. Fantastic location a short walk from everything you need. The cottage is well equipped and has everything you need. The only thing I struggled with was the mixer taps on the shower! Parking was easy even in the middle of August!

    Cindy2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The views from the cottage are absolutely lovely. It helps that Mevagissey is still a working fishing village. It makes it more interesting. The cottage is really funky. It's been carved into the rocks and as such the walls follow how the place was carved out. Namely, the walls are not square and instead tend to be curved in places. Otherwise the place is very comfortably and had everything we needed. I would certainly stay there again if we were to return to Mevagissey.

    Claudia & Steve2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy cottage with spectacular views. Clean and tidy. Very close to stores and restaurants. It was a little chilly, even with the space heater. A wood burning stove is available if you have the means to light it.

Sarita is communicative and thoughtful, making our valentine's break just right and Charlestown is a great little hideout for a couple of days or base for a longer stay. The Longstore is our favourite for food, drinks and service and we also loved a fantastic lunch in the shelter of the Boathouse this time. Great to be back; many thanks, Sarita xx

Now with cheaper foreign imports the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. Wet weather activities could include the visitor centre at St Austell Brewery, sampling beers and ales made on the premises. The brewery has recently started exporting its products across the Tamar River to England, so you may just find where your favourite brew is made.

  • We've had a wonderful few days at Tregolfa cottage, with the advantage of having had beautiful weather ! The cottage was clean and spacious and all facilities were present and working (Wi-fi, TV, washingmachine, dishwasher, 2 bathrooms etc.) We did not meet with the owner or housekeeper, which for us, was just what we wanted. Explanation on how to obtain the key and guidelines for use of the cottage were all sent beforehand via email. We loved the nice gesture of leaving us milk and cookies to find when we arrived. We were happy we could stay at the cottage with our dog, without many restrictions except the obvious ones (taking care she would not disturb the other guests and golfers at the neighbouring golfcourse). It is a wonderful place with stunning view and for golfers (which we are not) a fantastic chance to stay and golf all day at the golfcourse ! We hope to return one day!

  • What a location, a real hidden gem, didn’t want to leave. Everything you possibly need, very comfortable bed, good shower and the most delicious welcome fruit cake. Take some good walking shoes and so many beautiful walks.

  • Beautiful location and perfect place to unwind!

  • Beautiful location, a short walk into Mevagissy, Portmellon is an a very pretty little cove, nice walk round to Chapel Point. The Shack was wonderful for a healthy lunch option and we enjoyed a drink in the local pub, although the opening times were a little random. Chy Rani was so cute, perfect for the two of us and our little dog. Everything we wanted and more a fabulous break.

  • I had the best air bnb experience at Chy Rani. Everything was perfect and I even extended my stay. The cottage is perfectly laid out, even with baking awaiting me. Close to the coastal path and only a 15 min walk to lovely Mevagissey, I cannot recommend Chy Rani enough. Correspondence and care was excellent and I loved making my coffee and watching the sun rise in the morning. There was even a Christmas tree for me. Like another reviewer wrote, I’m currently working out when I can return. Beautiful spot for a serene retreat with gluten free bakery Teacup in Mevagissey and fab pubs when you need some coastal company. Thanks so much for a fabulous stay!

    Melanie2018-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fab views to die for, accommodation does what it says on the tin. Small but comfortable and everything you need. Lovely welcome touches from hosts. Great stay and highly recommended. You can get better quality accommodation at the same price; I suspect the view and excellent location is what you're paying the extra for!

    Mark2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Location: Chy Rani is perched right above the sea, on the edge of Portmellon cove. The beach and local pub are both a 1 minute walk away. It’s a 10 minute walk to Mevagissey which has lovely restaurants, great fish and chip shop and a beautiful harbour, plus a tackle shop. The rooms: The place was extremely well appointed and quiet, despite the sea being so close. It felt spacious and had incredible views across the water. We sat outside to eat breakfast in the sun most days! The kitchen had everything we needed. There wasn’t tons to do in the local area, we enjoyed the Lost Gardens of Heligon and walks on the coast path. Highly recommended.

For those wishing to visit the delights of places such as The Eden Project, Charlestown and Fowey, this is the area for you, located on the Eastern side of St Austell. With large attractions such as the Eden Project on the outskirts of St Austell, The Lost Gardens of Heligan towards Mevagissey, and Lanhydrock National Trust House & Gardens a short drive inland it provides an ideal base for your travels. The coastal town of Fowey is a simple drive to the coast past the China Clay port of Par, offering fabulous restaurants, galleries and gift shops. Daphne du Maurier spent her later years in properties in and around Fowey.St Austell was once the major producer of the worlds China Clay, now with cheaper foreign imports the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. Wet weather activities could include the visitor centre at St Austell Brewery, sampling beers and ales made on the premises. The Eden Project hosts many bands throughout the season as well as featuring an Ice Rink out of season.Bodmin was the former county town of Cornwall for many years and the only Cornish town to be recorded in the Domesday Book, which was lodged in the town's prison during the First World War. The county prison is now a museum and open to the public. It was the first prison in the country to have separate cells. The oldest part of the town is made up of mainly granite buildings clustered around the Bodmin Beacon. The Beacon is a 144 feet tall obelisk in memory of Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert. The area around the Beacon which has woodland and traditional hay meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994. At Tregullon you are just 10 miles away from The Eden Project and 2 miles away from the National Trust's amazing Lanhydrock House.Nearby Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A30 is home to one of Cornwalls Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwalls highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwalls stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families.
  • Treganoon Round Barn is perfectly situated for families to explore the main tourist spots in the area (Eden project, Charlestown, Bodmin Steam Railway to name a few). The barn itself was stocked with all amenities we could need including plenty of toys and games for our son to enjoy. The barn was cosy and warm on the stormy winter nights and is in a very tranquil location with no worries of any noise disturbance. Jenny was on hand to help us connect to the wi-fi and also let us have a look at the owl cam in her home before we left.

  • A very comfortable barn, ideal for family holidays, in a beautiful, tranquil location. Richard provided two cots, two highchairs and a stairgate for us, at our request in advance, as our little grandsons were staying with us. Everything was in place when we arrived and we all had a wonderful time. There were lots of toys and books for the little ones too, so it was perfect. We'd love to visit again.

  • This was an amazing property. There was 6 of us staying here an was more than big enough. With free rage chickens running around. The property was clean and we had a great welcome with fresh scones. Location nice and close to the Eden project and the beaches, but far away so all you could hear was the sound of the birds. None of us wanted to leave. Would recommend this to everyone:)

  • We stayed in Jenna’s house for a few days whilst visiting Gardens of Heligan and Eden using public transport. It was very comfortable and convenient. Aldi just round the corner and we walked to Charlestown for an evening meal.

  • Jenna is a very nice and helpful host. I haven't met her because she was busy at work but she answered all my question on line. The house is in very quiet area not far from Eden Project, perfect location. The room was lovely, very clean!

  • Very nice place to stay, Jenna is a pleasant person and easy to get on with. If you’re looking to stay in Cornwall I would definitely recommend this place to stay. Jenna also couldn’t be any more helpful in answering our questions prior to arriving.

  • I had a lovely stay here, with a private bedroom and bathroom. Jenna was very accommodating to changes to my booking and, being out for the majority of my stay, I felt very comfortable coming and going as I pleased. There is an Aldi close by and just a 10 minute drive to the beach. A very warm and comfortable stay.

    Caitlin2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna's house is very nice and clean and it was a pleasure to stay in. Too bad we didn't meet for long but her notes showed how nice of a person she is. The house is a 25-minute walk to the train station, which was very practical to discover the beautiful region. The neighbourhood is also very calm, yet supermarkets are a very short walking distance to.

  • A really lovely cottage with everything provided for a comfortable break away. Rock Cottage literally perches in an unbeatable location for sea views and for stepping down onto Portmellon beach. Car parking nearby was straight forward and there was plenty to do straight from the door as a family with dog eg walking into Mevagissey was a short, scenic route. Stuart was on hand with local top tips and we were well looked after. Wild weather days and the noise of crashing waves just added to the cottage's charm. We definitely hope to return one day.

    Tim2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning cottage in a tranquil location. Situated literally on the sea front, sounds of the sea could be heard through the day. Found this very peaceful and relaxing. Stuart’s extra touches were second to none. Fresh milk, eggs and cake welcomed us as we arrived in the cottage. Can’t wait to return in 2019!!

  • We have just had the best holiday in the beautiful Rock Cottage. The scenery is mesmerising and we loved the tide coming in and going out—and waking up to the sound of the sea. I would thoroughly recommend Rock Cottage- probably the most well equipped cottage that we have stayed in. The owner gave us some great advice on the roads and the places to visit and we have many many memories to cherish from our stay.

With large attractions such as the Eden Project on the outskirts of St Austell, The Lost Gardens of Heligan a 15-minute drive towards Mevagissey.Charlestown, a beautiful and traditional harbour and the scene of many historical dramas including Poldark is just a short drive away. The Shipwreck Museum is well worth a visit. The coastal town of Fowey is a simple 20 minutes drive past the China Clay port of Par, offering fabulous restaurants, galleries and gift shops. A short car ferry across the river takes you on to Polruan. Daphne du Maurier spent her later years in properties in and around Fowey, a festival of her works takes place each May.St Austell was once the major producer of the worlds China Clay, now with cheaper foreign imports the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. We are a five minute walk from St Austell centre with many shops, pubs and restaurants. We are in a quiet cul de sac with only 4 detached houses however we are also a minute walk from Macdonals, KFC, a 24 petrol station for snacks and drinks and Costa coffee. We are about 3 miles from beautiful Pentewan beach ..a ten minute car drive or a pleasant hour walk along country paths and a river. The Eden project is also a ten minute drive, as is Heligan Woods. There is a cinema in town with all the latest films - 5 minute walk. I will now write my best recommendations if it is your first time visiting Cornwall...a lot is dependant on the weather as the beaches are beautiful (but not in the rain!) but I am sure you will have lovely weather. St Michael's mount is a must and I would suggest a day touring down south - we are an hours drive on to Penzance (where the Mount is). During that day you could visit the Mount - then go up to Land's end (20 minutes on) where there are lots of attractions for the children including a new Wallace and Gromit one, then onto Porth Curnow beach nearby which I think is the best and prettiest beach in Cornwall which is overlooked by the Minnack theatre built into the cliffs. There is also Paradise Park if you like birds - the children would love it - and on this route you could also visit St Ives. Other days out could include Flambards - a theme park plus museums - Lappa Valley near Newquay (30 minutes from us) for a ride on steam trains,. Within a 5 mile radius of us there is the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Pentewan beach - beautiful Charlestown with the tall ships ( where Poldark was filmed) and there is a lovely museum, Caerhays castle - I will leave brochures out for you which have money off vouchers too. Hope this helps. There are several lovely beaches down here. The best and safest for children is Perranporth (45 minutes from us) where they have the famous Wateringhole pub on the beach but the place is very popular with families.

Stylish, comfortable, clean home with helpful host. An ideal base for exploring Cornwall.
There's so much to see and do around Saint Austell. The Eden Project is twenty minutes away and is a must if you haven't been. Charlestown is fab, a proper Cornish fishing village. Great food and gardens like Trembah and Heligan. Truro is fourteen miles away and definitely worth a visit. I love Mannings for a cocktail or a light lunch. A welcome awaits! Experience Cornwall!

The room is lovely and clean and the bed is extremely comfortable! Gail would allow me use any of the items in the kitchen to cook and would use the dishwasher to clean them for me. I would recommend staying.

The village of Tregony (3.5 miles away) in Cornwall is often referrred to as the 'gateway to the Roseland'. The exceptionally wide Fore Street is a relic from the days when this was a busy port and market town with considerable traffic. The port has long since silted up due in part to china clay workings up stream, but Tregony has retained its charm. Tregony has an unusual clock tower on Fore Street and the seventeenth century almshouses which boast an unusual wooden gallery. The site of a twelfth century Norman castle known as ‘Treg-ney’ from which the village got its name is situated on Tregony Hill. Tregony has a good local convenience store, plus a Post Office and good village pub in the Kings Arms. For really good food, we recommend the Kings Head at Ruan Lanihorne, only a short drive away. The city of Truro (10 miles away) with it's great shopping including a Tesco, Sainsburys & Marks & Spencers, is within a 15 minute drive of Tregony. St Austell (5 miles away) was once the major producer of the worlds China Clay, now with cheaper foreign imports the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. Wet weather activities could include the visitor centre at St Austell Brewery, sampling beers and ales made on the premises. The brewery has recently started exporting their products across the Tamar River to England, so you may just find where your favourite brew is made. With large attractions such as the Eden Project on the outskirts of St Austell, The Lost Gardens of Heligan a 20 minute drive towards Mevagissey, and Charlestown mere minutes away it provides an ideal base for your travels. The coastal town of Fowey is a simple 20 minutes drive past the China Clay port of Par, offering fabulous restaurants, galleries and gift shops. A short car ferry across the river takes you on to Polruan. Daphne du Maurier spent her later years in properties in and around Fowey, a festival of her works takes place each May.
  • Little Carwinnick is a wonderful place to spend holidays in Cornwall: clean, quiet and with all the facilities you need. Very friendly owners. All sights are within easy reach. Highly recommended.

  • Very comfortable and cozy, in a beautiful location. Facilities very good, and you really feel you've got away from it all. Great location to explore east to Eden, or west to Falmouth. There is nothing within walking distance - but plenty of choice of pubs, restaurants, supermarkets within 5-10 minutes drive.

  • Ideally situated for exploring the surrounding area. All facilities were as expected.

My place is close to the local towns of St Austell, Truro or Bodmin. There are many beaches close by and you’ll love my place because of the peace and quiet and the location we are within reach of so many places in just a few minutes such as 'The Eden Project' and 'The Lost Gardens of Heligan' which can be reached and these are open most of the year! The area and Cornwall is steeped in history! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers and the scenery is breathtaking!
Our place is unique because our guests have the use of the 2 rooms and the heated conservatory on the lower floor with large TV, they can relax in the evenings with a cuppa in the sitting room/second bedroom complete with TV. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the sitting room. This gives our guests their own bit of space but still feel at home! On the warmer evenings they might want to eat outside in the garden where there is a large patio table and chairs for their use. The main guest bedroom has a kingsize bed and a single sofa bed. The second bedroom/sitting room. Please note:- Breakfast is laid out in the main dining room upstairs. Please note: Breakfast is laid out from Monday-Friday 7-8am Weekends 8-9am Check out 10am
The neighbourhood around us is very quiet, we hardly ever see anyone walking past unless they are going past while walking their dogs. And as we are in a cul-de-sac the only traffic that comes through our road are locals or if someone has to turn around at the bottom of the road. The village is just a short walk away from us and has a variety of shops including Premier Store, Co op, veg shop, butchers, charity shop, laundrette, fish n chip shop, Chinese take-away, small cafe, taxi service, kebabs, pharmacy and post office. Oh! And a lovely pub! The Rock Inn just a few minutes walk, and they serve delicious food as we and our other guests can recommend! If you would like a table booked for the evening of your arrival please just ask and i can do that for you as i have for many other of my guests! Both pub and the fish-n-chip shop are within walking distance, their food is delicious and is also a chip shop has a restaurant should our guests want to eat in.
