Places to stay in Rosburg
Small private camp ground located just minutes off Hwy 4, in Rosburg Wa. Location is not to far from the 101 when traveling the coast. This beautiful spot sits near the creek and river with pastures and cows next door. Lewis and Clark once traveled this area looking for the ocean so as their ship could pick them up and head back to the East Coast. Boat ramp is just out the gate for smaller boats, kayaks, paddle boards. Shared camp spot with 2 developed sites.
We enjoy the creek and river next to us while also having the Columbia River and Ocean close by. Great for those traveling through the area looking for a safe spot to camp for the night with a port a potty and water. Old house on property and shed that separates the 2 camp spots, fire ring near each.
Super mellow spot with water front access for great paddling, kayaking or fishing. Share this private spot with the closest neighbors, the jersey cows of Organic Valley Diary. Long ago this spot serviced locals and water bound travelers as a local market, the steam ship would make daily runs to this location to drop off passengers here as well as goods. As there were no roads in this area pre 1900, all travel was by water then. Enjoy the privacy, quietness and beautiful valley views. Easily launch your kayaks or boat at the boat ramp next door at the old Rosburg Community Hall. Good launch at high tide muddy at low tide, but still deep in the channel. Great location at the beginning of a 10 mile dead end road for those wishing to explore Pillar Rock Road and the once thriving community of Altoona. Whether by bicycle or car: rich history of the thriving Salmon canning industry of the late 1850's - 1910, Is still evident today. As is Pillar Rock at the end of the road as it was when Lewis & Clark camped near this location on Nov 6, 1805. Pronouncing O! the joy" as they felt they finally had the ocean in view. They celebrated that day by having a big party at camp that night. *Port A potty at site *No electricity 2 sites available

  • A perfect little nook, with everything you need for a peaceful camp site.

  • Great private campground. Clean. It was a bit noisy (barking dogs, traffic) - I'd bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Lovely location.

    Jessica2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice quiet spot. It’s right off the main road, but there was almost no traffic at night. It was easy to find in the dark. The outhouse was clean and stocked with both toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The host responded quickly to any questions I had. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Showed up late on a Thursday night and everything was easily accessible. The site is exactly as described, and good for the price.

  • Very peaceful and quiet!

    Deborah2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot! The water access is awesome. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table available. And it’s in a great location for visiting Astoria and other surrounding areas.

  • Great campsite for a quick weekend trip. Directions were clear and the description is accurate. Our favorite part was when the cows in the adjacent field came over to watch us cook breakfast!

The Coho Cabin, is located at the old fishing town of Pillar Rock . Each guest has an opportunity to tour the Pillar Rock Cannery, originally established in 1877. Lewis and Clark also camped here and documented they first saw the ocean. Located on the banks of the Columbia River, the cabin has absolutely fantastic views! View and enjoy a beautiful secluded sandy beach, with private access from the cabin. Upstream is a stunning view of historical Pillar Rock.
Krista's family moved to Pillar Rock in 1979 and have loved living here ever since. Our family and friends have spent countless hours working to keep the Cannery from collapsing into the river while caring for this historical piece of property. The area is very rich in local history, Lewis and Clark, York, Sacajawea and the rest of the Corp of Discovery camped here in 1805 and documented in their journals they saw the ocean for the very first time. From your cabin you will enjoy the same stunning views of the Columbia River, the beach and Pillar Rock. You will also view commercial ship traffic as it passes by headed for destinations throughout the world. We share the property with abundant and diverse wildlife. Activities include beach combing, sunbathing, swimming, fishing, hiking. You are welcome to bring your own mountain bikes, wind surf boards and kayaks. Boat launch available for small boats and wave runners. Our sandy beach is great for kids. In the evening we have fire pits to toast marshmallows and view beautiful sunsets. This is truly our paradise and we would like to share it with you!
The Pillar Rock Cannery, Pillar Rock and the Columbia River are our special landmarks. In August of 2017 a lightning storm passed through the area, a lightning bolt struck one of the largest fir trees on the property. You can see the site from your cabin, view the devastation and feel the energy at the "Lightning Tree." In addition to our road and beach, we have a hiking nature trail to explore more of the property.

  • What a beautiful hideaway! The 10-mile drive off the beaten path is a 20-minute detour from the rat race. Stunning location, sensational deck, comfortable everything ... such well-designed and supremely appointed cabin — Krista has thought of everything!

Astoria has a wonderful outdoor market from about May to October every Sunday. Illwaco, WA has a market on Saturdays. Dale and I are able to provide lots of information about other areas for hiking, coastal beach activities, and exploration. Excellent restaurants on the Long Beach Peninsula and in the Astoria/Warrenton area.
  • Great views, family fun, thoughtful amenities.

  • Cheryl’s tent by the river was amazing. The tent had everything we needed and was built beautifully. It rained pretty hard over night and waking up to the sound of rain and the river flowing was an amazing experience. The cooking shack also had everything we needed, including pans and a griddle and running water. Cheryl was very communicative and hospitable. The only problem we had was the group in the other cabin was pretty rowdy until early morning. But we will definitely come back for another stay!

    Cat2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a cute little shack in front of the water. You can’t access the water but it beautiful. Lots of amenities like a grill, picnic table, seats in front of a fire ring. Awesome little spot.

  • This is an amazing space surrounded by nature. There is a fantastic private beach area with a fire pit that is amazing to watch barges go by or to have a fire. The wooden tent had everything we needed for a comfortable glamping experience. The cook shack had everything we needed plus lots more! Cheryl was very prompt in her communication and had great suggestions for local activities.

  • Columbia River Rest is a piece of heaven. If you are looking for a secluded getaway right next to breathtaking scenery, then this is your place, located right on the beach of the Washington side of the Columbia. Cheryl goes out of her way to be a top-notch hostess, from prompt communication, to nice thoughtful touches like bringing down kindling for the fire, to pleasant conversation, to tips on local places to venture to. I really cannot wait to visit again!

    Andrew2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t beat this little cabin on the water. For the price it is by far the best air B&B one could possibly hope for. Beautiful location (if it stays clear) and very easy to make the drive out to the coast to have a day. Had everything we needed, can’t go wrong here.

  • As vacation rental owners ourselves we can tend to be a little critical when we stay as a guest. This charming beach house leaves us nothing to be critical about. This place was well described, an amazing waterfront location, very thoughtful touches, and a very comfortable bed. Enjoy a beautiful drive to this gem on the Columbia River and put away the cell phones and relax amidst the wildlife and amazing views.

  • Great place! Great host! Great views! What more could you ask for. Cheryl was a very gracious and kind host. I was visiting on my birthday weekend and she brought me a cupcake! What a thoughtful touch. I felt very at home and was able to enjoy the beauty of the land. Thanks Cheryl! Hope to visit again.

    Brandon2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. The view is so stunning and soothing. Cheryl is very responsive and considerate. We asked for privacy and she gave us just that. We liked to read out on the deck and take walks on the beach and on the roads. This place had everything you can want/need. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. I usually get back pain from soft beds, but this one supported my chronic pain. Thank you so much Cheryl.

Our cabin is on a quiet country road. While nestled in the trees, the cabin sits on a bluff and offers amazing views of the Columbia. It is 45 min. from Astoria, and 60 min. from Long Beach and. Sit on the porch and watch river traffic, eagles and deer. Build a fire, in the fireplace, play games or read. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 with a view of the river, and a loft that kids love. The front porch runs the length of the house and has a deep roof, so it can be enjoyed in any weather. Very private
$10 per person after the first 2 does NOT apply to guests 2 yrs. old and under. To be able to share my cabin and the beauty that surrounds it means a lot to me. You will need to bring your own firewood. Most of the places around the cabin are owned by cousins, and are vacation homes. The cabin is rustic, no WIFI and no cable TV. The kitchen is pretty complete. There are extra quilts and comforters. There are a few old pieces that belonged to family members that have meaning for me and I enjoy seeing. I'm not sharing a space, I'm sharing part of my life. So please feel free to have a cozy fire, play some games, watch a movie, sit on the porch and enjoy the view. We provide pancake mix, syrup, jam, a variety of coffees and teas, quick breads, Swiss Miss for breakfast. We also provide sheep milk soap, so good for your skin. Please take home any unused jam, breads and soap. We would also like your feed back, what you liked what you didn't like so please leave a review on airbnb. The cabin is on a well. If you don't like well water, you may want to bring some bottled water.
The cabin is set in the woods, 9 miles off the main road. My cousin Is the closest neighbor. The other 3 homes are vacation homes. The area is very peaceful and beautiful. The view of the river is well worth bringing your camera. The deer come almost every day. We feed them sliced up apples or pears and slices of bread. It is a great place to bird watch. At different times of the year, there are seals in the river. You can see them and hear them barking. I like to sit on the porch with a cup of tea or glass of wine and watch the river. If the fog is heavy, you will hear the fog horns. A walk down the road will often bring you in contact with other neighbors out for a jog or walk. Stop to pick some black berries when in season, you can't beat the taste. Bring your bike and enjoy some great views as you ride the back roads. Or take them to Longbeach and ride the bike trail. Hunters Inn in Naselle is a favorite spot to eat. If you'd like dinner by the water, then The Duck Inn in Skamokawa or Moe's, for seafood in Astoria.
  • We loved the cabin! Felt immediately at home :)

  • Very private. Amazing view! Porch is serine. Saw 5 deer around dinner time, a few raccoon in the early morning. Multiple barges passed by on the columbia. Bring firewood for the fireplace if you want a fire! Multiple tea varieties, microwave, stove, oven, full fridge. I felt very safe and the place felt like home❤

Pillar Rock Camp, near the beach, is a new camping trailer with all amenities and parked overlooking a spectacular view of the Columbia River. We provide a private beach access where you can spend time, have a beach camp fire, and enjoy viewing the natural wildlife and seeing ships "up close and personal". You also have your own fire pit, lounge and outside eating area, all with a spectacular view!! Watch the deer brouse around your camp and view stars so close you can almost touch them.
There is a communal fire pit on the front lawn, again with spectacular views as well as a private fire . A walking road up the mountain (behind the property), provides deep woods and a seasonal waterfall. The views are incredible!! NOTE: We are 30 minutes from a town for groceries, so stock up on your way.
We are almost to the end of a 11 mile paved road which follows the Columbia River. The neighborhood consists of well spaced out residences with lots of beach views, abundant wildlife and a slower lifestyle. There are walking opportunities along the scenic road and people here are very open and friendly.

Clean wonderful stay with the help of having eggs, pancake mix and breakfast articles there for us. Worked so well for use. Thank you for a great stay.

  • This is such a lovely spot! We had a day at the beach and a day at Astoria and wished we could have stayed longer. It was fun in the rain and in the sunshine. Kathy is a warm and practical host. Excellent.

    Carie2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy is lovely and brought us eggs and fresh tomatoes from her garden. The apples from her tree are excellent also. The deer hang around at night which is pretty special.

  • Kathy and Fred have a beautiful property and are so generous and kind. Their camper sits perfect so you can sit at the table and watch ships pass. Which was my favorite thing to do in the morning. My husband and I enjoyed their beach property and stayed until way past dark. This a wonderful area and it's so quiet and relaxing. I recommended it to most of my friends. So, I'll recommend it to whoever reads this too :)

We live in an especially beautiful, serene, and naturally rich area. The waterfowl on the Columbia is very diverse: white Pelicans (new to the area), hawks, several varieties of ducks, geese, osprey, and several species of owls. Eagles are everywhere and many are in our big fir trees at the front of our property as I show in our photo album. They put on quite a show and have been known to drop fish out of the sky onto vehicles--seriously! Occasionally, we get a show from some sea lions and seals gobbling up the Salmon fingerlings. One of our guests described the night silence as "you can hear your own heartbeat." You might hear an owl, or a frog in spring, or the stern wheeler or a tugboat if you are not yet asleep, but the freighters slip by us with only a low, barely discernible hum to their engines. Spring and fall might bring the distant mournful sound of the ship's horns, but instead of it seeming like noise, it is rather romantic. You might find yourself trying to figure if it is coming from upstream or downstream and staying awake to find out.
  • Cheryl's place is my new favorite escape. Gracious hosts greeted my friend and I with a warm welcome, explanation of all the amenities, and then left us to unwind and enjoy. Morning coffee watching dawn break on the Columbia River was a comfortable beginning to the day. The stay was very enjoyable.

    Eric2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl’s place is the perfect balance of remoteness with all the conveniences. We loved being on the river, seeing deer and eagles, spending a lazy evening watching boats go by, but we also enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and the large, private space. The WiFi was top-notch and the Springer Spaniel, Max, was the perfect welcoming committee. Another guest mentioned the road- it is paved the entire way, not dirt, and narrow at times, but not difficult or scary- even as we came in at dusk in a teeny rental car. As other guests have said, we could have easily spent a few more days of R & R here.

    Aimee2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended for those who need a peaceful vacation away from the city for a few days, and who love daily scenic views.

    Cindy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a great location for nature, relaxation and the view but a little far out from any larger towns and the road was a bit scary, especially in the rain after dark. It’s only one lane in parts for the last several miles. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s well worth the drive. It’s very quiet and peaceful, with a fabulous view of the river for watching wildlife or ship traffic. There were 6 deer in the yard at one time, eating apples fed to them by Cheryl. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. I was surprised to find very fast Wi-Fi for our various devices. We didn’t have much good weather on our trip but we went into Astoria and checked out the maritime museum. We had brunch at Coffee Girl, which Cheryl recommended and it was great. It’s a very interesting area, even when it’s stormy.

    Anthony2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl’s place is in a remote spot with breath taking views. The guest suit is stylishly decorated, cozy and very clean. My wife and I only stayed one night and would have stayed more if our schedule had permitted it. If we are ever in this area again, we would most defiantly go back and stay again, longer. LOVED IT!!! If we could give more then 5 stars, we would.

    Troy2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • My family (2 adults and one 3-year old) stayed at Cheryl and Dale's place for 3 nights. It was just what we were looking for... secluded, relaxing, and plenty of outdoor adventures to entertain the 3 of us. We lucked out and had 1 really hot day that was perfect for swimming. We had fun exploring the beach at low tide, taking walks on their nature trail and along the road, checking out the deer in the yard, and eating way too many waffles (courtesy of our hosts). We brought all of our lunch/dinner food with us. There was more than enough room in the 2 mini fridges available to accommodate the food we brought. And the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook. There were instructions on how to make different breakfast items, which we appreciated (e.g., how to poach an egg in the microwave and how to make eggs in the convection oven). Overall, the apartment had everything we needed (and more!). Cheryl and Dale were wonderful hosts and great to chat with! If we get the chance, we'll definitely be back (and will be recommending them to friends too!).

    Jill2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely area, peaceful & beautiful. It is quite a way off the main track, but well worth the extra distance and the road is good. Cheryl & Dale are great hosts - their apartment has everything you could want to self cater & they had supplied ample yummy things for breakfast. We would definitely go back!

    P2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl and Dale are great hosts, they're extremely thoughtful and sweet. We enjoyed our 2 night stay. It was awesome to see the ships going by on the river and there were tons of deer in the area. Had it not rained the day we were there we would have rented kayaks to explore the river.

3 bedroom home on 2.5 acres overlooking the lower Columbia River. Main floor includes master suite with 2 queen beds, 2nd bedroom with 1 queen bed. Downstairs daylight basement includes 1 queen, 2 twins. All rooms have a view of the Columbia River! We are 9 miles off Hwy 4 in Wahkiakum county. Definitely out in the country! Guests often enjoy seeing deer that get into yard, along bald eagles flying by. We have blueberries, cherries, apples and pears, depending on the season. The last couple of miles are pretty winding, but the view at the end is worth it!
Right on the Lower Columbia River. Ship channel close to the shore, see ships and tugs as they travel from Astoria upriver. The site was a homestead for the Elliott family, established long before there were roads. Beds for 10 guests. No smoking, no pets.
The view says it all. In hot weather it is cooler than Portland, Oregon. Usually quiet and peaceful. Rural. We are about an hour from Astoria, Longview or Ilwaco. Restaurants and grocery stores are 20 to 30 minutes away minimum. We strongly suggest bringing your groceries with you.
  • Fairview has a beautiful view, it's definitely worth the drive! The well stocked game room is a nice touch as well.

Our 322 sq ft. vacation rental apartment is next door to, but separate from our two room Twin Gables Inn on Skamokawa Creek. Best for two, but sleeps four in a pinch (queen sleeper sofa in living room). $15 per additional occupant over 2. The apartment does not face the creek, but it is 30 feet from the back door to the water's edge. 5 steps up to the apartment. Breakfast available at inn. Small dog with prior permission only. Dog-friendly park, wildlife refuge and Fairgrounds nearby.
One bedroom apartment with kitchenette. Can sleep two couples. $15 per person additional fee over 2 occupants. Queen bed in bedroom. Queen sleeper in living room. Small bath with stand up shower. All linens and towels provided. Kitchenette has stove/oven, small refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker and microwave. Pots, pans and utensils provided. Fresh-ground coffee. Boat dock available for guest use. On Skamokawa Creek, just off the lower Columbia River. Not suitable for sailboats due to low bridge. For canoes and kayaks: a small boat launch is just down the creek from us We are a short walk from a general store, the Redmen Hall Friends of Skamokawa Museum and bookshop, a wildlife refuge with several miles of flat, lightly used road for cycling, Skamokawa Vista Park, where you can walk one of the few beaches along the Columbia River. Breakfast, or our 'Simple Suppers' are available in next-door B&B for $15/pp for those who want a break from cooking. The apartment includes free wifi (CenturyLink 'up to' 10 mbps) and an internet ready TV with a Netflix subscription. Note on location. A major search engine maps us a few miles away from where we actually are. We are in central Skamokawa, a 5 minute walk from the general store and paddle center, and across the highway from Skamokawa Vista Park. We are located on the waterside of Skamokawa Creek, which empties into the Columbia River just downstream.
We are in the Skamokawa National Historic District. Houses here face Skamokawa Creek. The creek was once the town's 'Main Street', as much travel was done via water. There was no through-road to Skamokawa until the 1930s. The human population is small, outnumbered by a variety of wildlife. You may see deer in the yard. Eagles, Osprey and Red-Tailed Hawks are common sights, as are Herons and many migrating water-fowl. You may hear coyotes yipping in the evening. Beaver, Otter and Nutria are often seen in the local sloughs.
  • A lovely place with everything we needed, and great hospitality! Had an amazing breakfast cooked by our hostess. Convenient location for visiting Cathlamet and for day trips into Portland. If it had been warm enough we would have hung out on the inviting porches - one facing the quiet courtyard and one facing the slough behind the inn. Hoping to visit again in the warmer months!

  • A nice space from which to explore the north side of the Columbia.

    Jeff2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and two little dogs had an awesome time at Kathleen's place. She welcomed us we arrived, showing us to our adorable home for the evening. A delicious and full breakfast was served the next morning....making us feel special as we were the only ones in the dining room. Kathleen kindly put my coat in the dryer as I got drenched walking a dog. Thank you for a great stay.

  • Very conveniently located right across from the park and walking distance to town. Cute and clean with a comfy bed and great home baked cookies.

    Robbie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet, clean and quaint. Perfect spot to enjoy the Columbia River without the hassle of camping.

    Michael2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this place. The room worked very well for three of us and our dog. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind that’s located in a beautiful part of the state, you should definitely plan on coming here. There’s a nice creek you can paddle on that’s behind the hotel, and the park across the street has a sand beach on the Columbia river. Also, the owner makes the best shortbread cookies we’ve ever tasted.

  • Brian and Linda are deeply sweet, thoughtful and amazing hosts! They really go out of their way to make you feel spoiled. Coffee was brought up to our room before breakfast and there was always extra treats and snacks waiting for us when we arrived. They are flexible, helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and at home. You will not regret a stay at the Dahlia House!

  • The Dahlia House was an exceptional surprise for us. Brian and Linda are wonderful hosts. If you are looking for something different this is the place to go.

  • I can’t say enough good things about this place. The house and he location are absolutely gorgeous, and Linda is a true professional who goes out of her way to accommodate her guests. The breakfast is delicious, the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

  • Our stay here was a dream. The home itself is beautiful. Like a dollhouse on top of a hill overlooking the river. While the water is calm the river reflects the sky like a mirror. Take a very short and easy walk to their beach and look for seaglass. We stayed in the pillar rock room and woke up to the view of the sun shining on the river. Location is stunning and peaceful .room and restroom were both immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The bed is SO comfortable. Brian and Linda are wonderful hosts. They were patient with me and my roommate as we arrived late and yet they still greeted us warmly with smiles and Brian carried our luggage up for us which was so nice as we were exhausted from being out all day. We were served breakfast in the morning and it was amazing! I ordered the pancakes (infused with fruit) and bacon with Brian's homemade triple berry syrup and it was so delicious! There are plenty of places to sit and have your morning coffee and to enjoy the views. Brian and Linda are warm and welcoming and truly make you feel like you're staying with your aunt and uncle. Our overall experience was above 5 stars. I wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be returning for our next Northeastern coast trip.

  • You will find gracious hosts who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The scenery is breathtaking right across from the Columbia River (which is huge!) and the beautiful home is filled with intriguing trinkets -- very tastefully updated historical home. Can't recommend it highly enough!

    Pam2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding from the second I arrived to the second I left. The peace and tranquility is something I don’t think I’ve ever experienced, and I live on a 300 acre farm! Linda and Brian do everything in their power to accommodate any and all needs one might have. And let me tell you, the meals are impeccable! Make sure you stay and pay the small extra for dinner, you will not regret it! This will be my “mommy getaway” for years and years to come.

  • Kathleen is a wonderful host. She fixed great breakfasts both days we were there. We had a large room with a private bathroom. There is another room upstairs which is smaller but also has a private bathroom. It was two separate houses that her husband purchased both of them and built an addition between them and you cannot tell they have done all that work from the inside or the outside. Very impressive workmanship. (I know, I'm in construction.) My wife and i had a wonderful time for both days staying with them.

  • When you come to realize you have raved about a place to all your friends, you are reminded to write a review about just why the visit was so great! Linda and Brian, the hosts of Dahlia House, are simply the best! We felt so pampered! Their attention to detail, in their home, in their presentation of meals, etc... is fantastic! My husband didn't know what to expect, as the location was a surprise, and I have to say his eyes misted over when we entered The Hummingbird Room. And the bath!!! Don't hesitate to stay at Dahlia house Bed and Breakfast! We recommend the pork loin and cheesecake, dinner prepared just for you by your hosts, and be sure to linger for a sumptuous breakfast the next morning.

This newly constructed home is airy and light, kid and dog friendly with a welcoming great room, complete kitchen and screened porch. It's a great gathering place for friends and families to escape the speed and noise of the city and find the healing peace of nature and silence.
There is a complete kitchen designed especially for people who want to cook their own meals. The house is on one level so there are no stairs to negotiate.
Historic Skamokawa is a small town (400 people) in a county of 4000 with not one stop light. Be sure to visit our River Life Interpretive Center at Redmen Hall. Nearby Cathlamet has a small grocery store, art gallery and River mile 38 Brewery.
  • Kitty & Don are such welcoming hosts, with whom we shared an aperitif and fun conversation the night we arrived. Their property is lovely and was great fun for our grandchildren, who encountered cows, chickens and pigs each day, while the Roadhouse itself was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. We couldn’t have asked for a better gathering place for our family!

  • This home is an amazing getaway! This house comfortably slept 5 adults, two children, dogs, and there was still room for more guests. The house is fully furnished and cannot think of one thing that we needed that was not already there. The house was spotless and is well taken care of. Kitty and Don are so very nice and spectacular hosts, any questions we had were answered within minutes. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the getaway and will definitely be back in the future.

  • Perfect quiet getaway with great hosts. Kitty and Don's Roadhouse was pristinely clean, spacious, and peaceful. It had everything we could have possibly needed, is set up well for families and groups, and everything is new or in excellent condition. They even had kids' books for our daughter! Kitty and Don were both lovely and very hospitable--even though we were later than expected, Kitty welcomed us in person, she invited us to pick blueberries from their bushes, and showed our daughter a beautiful spot to play in the creek. Kitty and Don also let her feed the chickens and pigs, and we all loved watching their two beautiful cows in the field right outside. We will definitely return and have already recommended it to friends!

  • We stayed at the Roadhouse as a jumping off point to explore the region and to avoid the crowds. Just an hour from Long Beach and 1.5 hours from Cannon Beach, it suited us nicely. The geography of the area is beautiful, a small farming community tucked away against somewhat dramatic tree covered hills. It’s a short but pleasant drive off the highway. The roadhouse itself is a modest house from the outside, but well laid out for even 7 adults a baby and two dogs and beautiful new construction on the inside. The main are of the house is an open concept living/dining/kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliances. It made for relaxing evenings cooking and playing games. Now, the real cherry on top is the gracious hosts Kitty and Don. We were greeted with a plate of fresh brownies and a handwritten note inviting us to stop by to say hello. The main house is located about a 5 min walk from the Roadhouse, so the level of privacy was perfect. But we really enjoyed sitting down with Kitty and Don in their living room to get to know them a bit. Super interesting and warm people! Of course they had great tips on how to make our stay even better, pointing us toward the local brewery just 10 min down the road. It was a blast and I can’t wait to visit again.

This beach home is nestled in front of a scenic hillside and across the walkable road from the waterfront beach access, relax in a natural sanctuary on the mighty Columbia River while seals bark on the beach below. Single bedroom home features queen four poster bed, full-sized sofa bed, complete kitchen and laundry. Wildlife abounds in our pristine area and only the soft notes of nesting geese and loons can be heard at night.
This sweet home was built in 2014 and lived in part time for only a year. It is ideal for couples looking for privacy or small families in search of a unique coastal vacation. Note: we have a wonderful access to the river for kayaks and canoes. The living room has a new pull-out bed and the bedroom has a roomy and comfortable new queen sized bed. We keep the kitchen stocked with basic seasonings and provide full sized appliances so you can cook up meals. We do allow doggies, but please, no large breeds as the house is not large enough for bigger, more powerful dogs. (Dogs not allowed on bed or couch, or left alone in house) There is a $15 pet charge, paid at time of arrival. Your dog will love running on the beach (they all do!). See our uTube video at https://youtu.be/7i6P0jcqAvc
We live at the end of an eleven mile road that traces the north side of the Columbia River. We see an amazing array of coastal wildlife from seals and sea lions on our beach to deer in our yard. Eagles fly above as well as hawks, and occasionally osprey. Loons, ducks, geese and white Pelicans make this their nesting home. If that wasn't enough, we live within driving distance to some of the most treasured bird sanctuaries in the Northwest. Many state parks in both Washington and Oregon are a short drive away including Stevens Park, Cape Disappointment, and Fort Columbia. We can also recommend amazing restaurants along the coast including Norma's in Seaside and Fort George Brewery in Astoria. Finally, we have some of the most beautiful public beaches in the area less than an hour away (though our private beach is pretty special too).
  • It’s tucked away along the river. Quiet and remarkably beautiful. Kathy is an excellent communicator and the guesthouse has everything you need for a night or an extended stay. I definitely wish my schedule allowed for a longer weekend. Beautiful beach, there’s nothing else like it.

    Gayle2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy’s place was amazing! A five minute walk from a completely private beach, our dog loved it! We did not see anyone else on the beach during our Saturday-Sunday stay. The road and area is very quiet and peaceful. The river views from the cottage are beautiful as well. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet weekend of beaching and cooking especially if you have a four legged friend who loves romping on the beach!

    Natalie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous area and a charming retreat. Kathy is extremely responsive to messages and was a great host. Breakfast items being provided was very appreciated!

  • Kathy’s place was easy to enjoy! A wonderful spot in a picturesque location. Would recommend to anyone seeking a relaxing stay off the beaten path.

    Ahnika2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to get away from it all and just relax and watch the boats go by on the Columbia River. If it's raining, you can sit inside and still have a great view. It is quite a long drive (10 slow miles) down the road to get there, but that's why it is so quiet and peaceful. I loved my mini-vacation there and wish I could have stayed longer.

The Captain's Quarters is located on Altoona Pillar Rock Road, once home to the early salmon fishing canneries of the west. We live on a dead end road at about 9.5 miles down a narrow windy at times road. Because of its remoteness, we have lots of wildlife and quiet. House sits across the road from the Columbia River and we see plenty of large ships heading through the ship canal. Available is loft area with queen bed, and small bedroom with double bed, shared hall bathroom for guest.
Large house which will sleep 4 comfortably. 1 bedroom & loft, 1 bath available for guest. Open kitchen, living room, dining area that has large fireplace for that cozy homey feel. House is fully furnished with all linens, blankets, towels, dishes, wood, ect. This location is a great place to bring your family and friends to step back and enjoy life. Beautiful walking spots, great bike riding location with very little traffic on our road, close to launch site for kayaking or paddle boarding or sit and enjoy the ships going by the front window or great front yard! This house is perfect for those wishing to get a little R&R time away from it all. Right across street to the left is a walking trail which leads you down to the water on our property.
Beauty, nature and quietness, this house allows you to regroup and be able to concentrate and think again without all the noise that clutters our spaces.
  • A very nice place to unwind. A beautiful location and all the comforts of home!

    Katya2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to go for quiet and privacy, yet close enough to Cannon beach, long beach, and Astoria if you want to do those things and come back to beautiful peace and quiet. Great place to unplug.

    Jeff2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • If you don’t mind being absolutely in the middle of nowhere this place is awesome. Bit of a climb to the river but not a long distance.

    Benjamin2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Captain's Quarters is a simple, peaceful stay away from home. Comfortable home and I loved being surrounded by nature with a beautiful view of the water! I got to spend morning coffee watching two deer rest in the yard. The clawfoot tub was also wonderful to use and the wood stove a cozy touch! I would definitely stay here again.

  • Beautiful property! Worth the windy road to get to it (; super quiet and relaxing area. Perfect for a little get away.(:

  • a very neat cabin to get away from it all !

    Paul2018-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again no doubt! It was a bit further away from the sights we wanted to visit but the value and the hospitality made up for that small detail. Everything was clean and neat and as advertised. It was a comfortable and relaxing environment and the wildlife that visited were an added bonus! Carl and Kathy were very helpful with local tips and directions and left us to have the quiet and private getaway we wanted.

    Stephen2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay. Very peaceful and quiet. You see more ships going by than cars during the day. Nice place to unwind and enjoy the scenery. Great kitchen and living room with beautiful view. Comfy bedrooms and it was all very clean. Great communication.

Check in anytime after 2 p.m. Check out 11:00 AM.
Lots of deer make regular visits to us.

The Inn At Crippen Creek Farm offers a respite from the hectic rhythm of everyday life. Stroll our 15 acres, rest by the creek, enjoy the beauty of our farm, the garden, the orchard and the livestock. Your stay includes a full country breakfast. We also offer optional gourmet dinners and cooking classes. On weekends you can enjoy live music and craft beers in nearby Cathlamet at River Mile 38 Brewery.
The Inn At Crippen Creek Farm is a 15 acre organic farm nestled in a quiet, remote valley in the Willapa Hills. Our guests love the gourmet food, they are charmed by the animals but I think it is the quietness that speaks loudest to them. However we do have our unique country noises from coyotes, owls, tree frogs and roosters. Most of our guests tell us that they sleep so well they don't notice them and if they do they find it a refreshing change of pace from urban sirens, traffic and garbage trucks.
We love the quiet and lack of traffic. No sirens, no booming stereos. We can count on one hand the number of vehicles that we see while on a walk or bike ride. A morning walk is a real treat.
  • Outstanding accommodations, warm hospitality, quiet, clean, and delightful.

    Christopher2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really appreciated the way Kitty and Don make us feel right at home. The place is very peaceful and quiet. I couldn't even hear a car passing. The room was immaculately clean and the bed super comfortable. I enjoyed playing the piano in the living area downstairs. Outside by the creek we saw a great blue heron up close. We also enjoyed our conversations with Kitty and Don and the other guests. We look forward to coming back.

  • Kitty and Don have a beautiful home, and the rental suites are large, beautifully appointed, and sparkling clean. They offer gourmet dinners (which I am sad to say I didn't partake in). They served me wonderful home made soup and bread when I arrived too late to get dinner and made me feel very comfortable and at home. I recommend the house, and Kitty and Don without reservations. A gem!

  • Kitty & Don truly offer you and your loved one much more than a place to stay - they give you an experience you won't soon forget! From the moment you enter in their beautiful red front door, you are treated like family or a long lost friend. We felt so welcome and immediately connected with both Kitty and Don around their huge island in the kitchen. They are people that greet you with genuine warmth and interest - even after a very busy day for them hosting a fundraiser on their farm. Since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, we decided to splurge on the optional gourmet dinner. What a great choice that was, not only for the very tasty three course meal including wine, but for the wonderful visiting around the table with our hosts and other guests! Their home is just lovely in such a peaceful, pastoral setting. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, lots of light in the windows and a nice private bathroom. The wifi was super nice to have as we had no cell phone reception. Don took us on an informative tour of their farm the next morning after breakfast. Oh, and what a great breakfast it was! Starting with the deliciously moist cinnamon rolls and then a special dish with poached eggs - it was a culinary delight! We spent less than 24 hours at this relaxing retreat and it felt like so much more because of all we experienced in such a short time. Don't hesitate to book this little farm for your next special getaway - you will NOT be disappointed!

  • If you ever want a bit of heaven in a setting - this is it. The rooms are spotless - The country side is charming. The house is polished but homey. AND the hosts are the best hosts we have ever experienced! Kitty and Don can't be beat - It is a place that should be everyone's destination. We're returning SOON! James

  • What an amazing weekend at Crippen Creek Inn! The farm was beautiful, the food was fantastic (had homemade foccocia bread, panna cotta (cooked cream) with fresh berries, pasta putanesca Verde, red wine, chocolate croissants, farm fresh eggs!) and the room was better than a hotel. Don & Kitty have made their home into a haven for weary travelers needing to get out of the city and get into nature. I got to feed the pigs, say Hi to the new cows and pet "Bruce" the dog (best dog ever!). The room was spotless and the bed super comfy. I woke up to sunshine streaming thru large windows and......quiet. Awwww. I slept over 10 hrs the first night I was there! The best part about Crippen Creek besides Don and Kitty is the location! It was a quick drive to Astoria, Cannon Beach (in OR) or Long Beach and Disappointment State Park/Ilwaco (in WA) from the farm. I was there on a holiday weekend and traffic was clear and the farm is located up and away from the highway so no white noise. It was just a perfect weekend and definitely will be going back! Don is an amazing chef and has cooking classes for anyone interested in his Italian secrets. Kitty is a super host who can knit, needlepoint and feed farm animals all in the same fell swoop. Thank you for such a great stay!

Sorry, we are closed until July. This booking gives you the whole upstairs and includes 2 good sized bedrooms, both with a view of the river, 2 bathrooms, and a small deck. We are right on the Columbia River and a great place to enjoy the great outdoors! We are just an hour away from Astoria and about an hour and a half from Long Beach. A small cot is available for one extra person. See the pictures for more details. Breakfast is always included.
We have recently restored this 1895 Victorian Home to its former glory. This listing is for the whole upstairs. See our other listings for booking the Pillar Rock Room or Hummingbird room separately. Both rooms are decorated with Victorian antiques, nostalgia pieces and many special touches. While we do not have Televisions in the bedrooms, (we want you to unplug and relax) we do have WiFi available throughout the house. One room has a King size bed and a magnificent private bathroom just down the hall (robes provided). It has a slipper tub and shower. It is well worth the few steps to get there! The other room has a queen size bed with a new glass block shower. The house is located just steps from our own private beach along the Columbia River. Take a walk and comb for driftwood, shells and rocks. Explore the woods surrounding our home and keep an eye out for the black tailed deer and bear. Take a nap, read a good book or watch the ships go by. Your nights stay includes an evening snack, a comfy bed to sleep in and a farmhouse breakfast. Breakfast consists of fruit, breakfast breads and your choice of waffles, or an egg dish. We can also do gluten free or vegetarian with advance notice. Your meal can be served in the sun room or in the dining room, your choice. Coffee, tea & hot chocolate are always available. We are located over 20 miles from the nearest store or restaurant. It is a peaceful area and promotes relaxation. Astoria, Oregon is just over an hour away. Long Beach is about one hour and a half. We suggest you arrive before sunset as the view is well worth it and the road seems narrow and a bit twisty at night. Dinners are available by request and are extra You can see more at our Dahlia House website
There is not really a neighborhood. We are pretty remote, but that's what makes it special.
  • This is easily the prettiest Air B&B we have stayed in and we have been using this service for almost five years. The location is picturesque and if you stay in the hummingbird room, you can wake up to the most gorgeous view of the river. Linda and Bryan were the warmest host ever and they cooked us a delicious breakfast ! I highly recommend Linda and Bryan's place to anyone who wants to spend some days in a peaceful locale with gorgeous views. We will definitely come back again!!

  • We had the uttermost pleasure of staying with Don and Kitty for one night (which definitely wasn’t enough). Our hosts were kind and professional but also felt like friends. Don is an exceptional chef so I highly recommend taking an eat in option. You won’t get food of that standard for miles. We had wonderful discussions with our hosts and spent quality time with them. The accommodation is immaculate and tranquil, with everything you need for an indulgent retreat. Blissful. The area has lots to offer including beaches, lakes and forestry.
