“Not actually an art gallery - Free to the public: visitors watch the artists at work and see how projects are developed through live demonstrations and open studio viewing. There are also other little shops selling unique, locally made items.”

“"The Bird Trail" is a paved walking trail through the woods behind the YMCA. You can park at the YMCA and walk around the right side of building to reach the trail. Or there is a gravel parking lot behind the neighboring building just past the YMCA parking lot. This trail is great for a quick walk around the loop (est. 10-15 minutes). ”

“The Grainery, located just South of Roanoke in historical Rocky Mount is a beautiful gallery boasting the works of many local artists working in an array of mediums. The Grainery is also home to Hot Taffy Glassworks where visitors can be mesmerized by onsite demonstrations and even take classes on the art of glassblowing. ”

“Hiking trail through mature forest. The first 1.5 miles is basically up hill, once you get to the top of the trail there is a long loop along the ridge line. We usually take a right once you get to the loop and go another 1/4 to 1/2 mile to the "vista" there is a bench and a nice view of Rocky Mount.”
