Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • Zac and Renee's place is simply amazing, great attention to detail, open, warm, super clean and comfortable. Convenient location close to some really fun areas in Midtown and just a quick jump from downtown. It was a breeze parking and getting in and out of the place. We were fortunate enough to get to meet Zac and Renee on the way out and they were just as warm and inviting as they seemed from our communication leading up to our visit. Oh yeah, almost forgot my mandatory Taco the cat shout out, what a guy.

  • Our stay at Zac and Renee's apartment was a great experience from start to finish. They were prompt communicators and accommodated our request to drop off our bags and park early. We also happened to see each of them at separate times and both exchanges were great with lots of useful tips. The apartment itself is beautiful, spacious and full of amenities. Really love the thoughtful decor and attention to detail. Thanks for stocking lots of basics (like linens, towels, shampoo, soap, and a washing machine for clothes), and little things (like coffee, mixed nuts, butter and other snacks / essentials). There are also lots of board games, books (incl. local guidebooks), a TV with Netflix, a claw foot tub...etc. Come to enjoy Detroit but be prepared for the temptation to just stay in and relax. The location is also convenient - about 30-40 min walk from downtown (but a ~10 min Uber ride) and probably half that to Midtown. For a weekend those two neighbourhoods are enough to keep you busy. Their street is quiet, well-kept and felt safe. The apartment was also well-protected with locks and an alarm system. It was hot when we visited but open windows were enough - no need to use provided A/C. Lots of natural sunlight made for a visually appealing experience too. All in all a great experience and would definitely stay again - thanks!

  • We loved our stay at Zac and Renee's. The property is exactly as described and pictured. Zac and Renee were amazing hosts; accessible and always willing to answer questions and help us out. I feel as though we've made new friends. The neighborhood is in transition, with many houses being renovated. We were at the house for the better part of three weeks and walked outside daily. We never had any concerns about safety. Would definitely recommend this house for anyone wishing a cool urban experience.

  • Excellent host. Zac and Renee made my stay very easy and their place looked exactly like the photos.. The place was very clean and roomy. I'd visit again for sure.

  • Absolutely loved our stay. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable. It was clean and just as seen in the photographs. Beautiful old details throughout. We will be back!!

  • Zac and Renee are amazing hosts. They reached out to us several times to be sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They responded to our questions in a very timely fashion. The house is exactly as pictured; very spacious, comfortable, well decorated and cheerful. The neighborhood is definitely in transition, with many houses being rehabbed and improved. We walked almost everyday and felt very safe and welcomed.

  • Loved this apartment! Beautifully decorated, extremely clean, and quite cozy too! The block is quiet, there is plenty of parking, and there is easy access to downtown and midtown. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it! Zac and Renee were so helpful! They even helped me with the corkscrew that I couldn't seem to make work! Great place to stay, would definitely stay again!

    Alex2016-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at Zac and Renee's place! It was close to all the downtown spots we wanted to check out, easy to get to (with ample street parking), and they were both lovely hosts. Also, it was insanely gorgeous--just as beautiful as the photos show. For the price and location, its definitely a steal. We look forward to staying there again when we return to Detroit.

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • This place was absolutely perfect! By far the best place to stay in Detroit. Check in and out was extremely easy and convenient. The neighborhood is beautiful and historic. So much good food and things to explore right out your doorstep! I cant wait to come back and stay here again! Already planning my next trip to Detroit!

    Ben2013-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! We had a great stay and the host was friendly and helpful.

    Jade2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Honor and Folly is every bit as beautiful as it looks on-line. Restaurants just downstairs serve great food. It is Detroit so the neighborhood beyond the immediate area feels desolate, but you can feel a devoted, friendly community working hard to fix that. One comment: there is no number on the door and the mailboxes right there are for a different address, but it becomes pretty obvious that only one door has the right kind of lock and that's the door to Honor and Folly.

    Alicia2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay, fun/funky/eclectic apartment, great neighborhood.

    Michael2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Meghan's loft above Slows BBQ is in a great location in Corktown! Very beautifully decorated and very comfortable. This was my second time staying here and I hope to be back!

    Lisa2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • From my first inquiry on the listing Meghan was extremely responsive. The place was even better than described and we had the best time. I hosted a group of 8 clients for a pop-up salon before Fash Bash and the space was plenty roomy enough for 8 women to get hair/makeup done and move about with ease. We didn't stay the night there so I can speak to the comfort of beds but the living space was incredibly charming and clean! We will be renting avian hopefully in the near future. Thanks for everything, Meghan!

    Julia2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Honor & Folly, and it was as great as the first. Everything is perfect, really.

    Cyrus2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Between the opening of Little Caesar's Arena and the Crain's Detroit Homecoming, the hotels I usually stay at for work were crazy expensive/booked up. I'm so glad I remembered having stayed at Honor & Folly about 5 years ago and recommended it to my colleague as an alternative. It was as charming as I remembered it and worked perfect for two business travelers (two separate bedrooms/full baths.) You can't beat the location for easy, exceptional dining nearby. We had coffee/breakfast at Astro and cocktails at Sugar House (both right downstairs) Even though we came in from Texas, we probably would have also made it in to Slow's for BBQ had my colleague not been a newly minted vegan. But that being the case, we walked to Takoi/Brooklyn Street Local for other meals that were really great. There was plenty of room to work during the day and the bedrooms were quiet and comfortable to retire to at night. Meghan was an excellent host—sending a ton of recommendations prior to our check-in and being super responsive for the few questions we had. Even if our normal hotels are available for our next trip into town, we'll definitely consider staying at Honor & Folly again, it was the perfect home base for our quick work trip.

The studio is really convenient for multiple night stays. Very private. There is a small, equipped kitchenette with a two burner stove, fridge, microwave and toaster. There is an iron, also a TV with Blu-ray and a variety of DVDs.
We are located in a quiet neighborhood just steps from nationally recognized restaurants ( Slow's BBQ, Gold Cash Gold, The Mercury Bar, Ottava Via, Le Petit Zinc) bars (Sugar House, PJ's, Nemos), breweries (Batch & Brew) and Two James Distillery. The Cultural Center offers the Detroit Institute of Arts, The Michigan Science Center, The Detroit Historical Museum and The Wright Museum plus a variety of art galleries, Wayne State University and restaurants. Oh my--I do go on. Come and explore.
  • The nicest and most hospitable of hosts! We were greeted with not only a comfy, beautiful little room, but also with lots of information about the area. This was so helpful as our stay was fairly short and we did not have much time to explore. Highly recommend!

    Caleb2015-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • So lovely! Space is just as pictured/described. Barbara and John are superb hosts and go above and beyond in accomodating guests. The apartment was spotless, tastefully decorated. Extra treats in the pantry and fridge provided were a delight. Perfect Corktown getaway. Highly recommend.

    Dave2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Studio B. This was our first trip to Detroit so we appreciated Barbara and John's advice about the best places to eat and see. it was wonderful to go out, explore, and then return to a comfortable, inviting space. Out had plenty of amenities, including a nice selection of beverages and treats.

    Garrett2016-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Phenomenal experience! John and Barbara went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Really enjoyed the apartment, everything is as it appears in the description and pictures. John even offered to give us a ride to the Joe Louis area and provided a nice tour of the corktown area! Would recommend anyone to stay here!

    Ryan2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • My stay here was amazing. I was welcomed in with open arms. They are the cutest Airbnb couple of could of asked for! The place is beautiful. Just like the pictures but better! It was super clean, the bed was amazing and everything you could of needed in the stay were there at your disposal. From snacks ready to eat to a full fridge of refreshing drinks. It was all there for you! The bathroom was small but ideal if you ask me. The loft is very well lit.. but if you don't want the light shining through in the morning, they give you a key to close them all! THANKYOU so much for my stay! Was excellent. ❤️

    Pierce2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this spot was ideal. Barbara and John made check in as convenient as could be even though we had a somewhat late arriving flight. The space is super charming and stocked with amenities. Perfect for a weekend trip. Walking distance to plenty of bars and restaurants. Manageable walking distance to downtown as well.

    Donnie2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable, clean and stylish! 5-10 minute walk to restaurants and bars and a mile from Comerica Park. We went for opening day which was perfect because Nemo's was a 5 minute walk away where we had some beverages and took a free shuttle to the game. Barbara and John are lovely people and couldn't have been more accommodating and welcoming. This is an excellent place to stay and we plan on returning. Thanks for everything John and Barbara!

    Tracey2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in the best neighborhood in Detroit! Great food and drink options just steps away and the space is modern, clean, and homey. Barbara and john love Detroit too and give great tips and support. We love Detroit and love this place!

    Studio B in Corktown
    230 reviews
Our peaceful and comfortable loft is located in the heart of Corktown, Just 5 minutes from Downtown Detroit, and 5 minutes to the Ambassador Bridge to Canada. Our loft provides an ambiance and an amazing view of the City of Detroit.
The Loft is beautiful. Lightly decorated with burgandy cement floors, newly remodeled kitchen and 2 bathrooms. A full bathroom is located on the first floor and a walk-in shower is located on the second floor. The building is quiet. The unit includes purple sofa and loveseat, 2 big flat screen TV's , brand new bed, and linen. The space can accommodate up to 4 people. 2 can sleep upstairs. An air bed is provided for lower level if needed.
The neighborhood is seemingly quiet. The loft is located directly in between Corktown and Southwest Detroit. From the outside, the building appears to be an old warehouse, but inside the building is decorated with hardwood floors, and an beautiful structure.
  • Nice Flat. Spacious. We liked the 2 bathrooms. Area seems to be safe. Check in was easy, just as described in the previous summaries. 10 minute walk to mexican town, 30 minute walk to bars and restaurants in cork town, 40 minute walk to downtown, if you don't have a car. Quite hot in summer as the air gets stuck there, noisy at night due to trains passing.

    Hannah2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Brian2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Place was as described. Neighbor had a Saturday night party that went until 4am. Sound carries easily in the older building, plus nearby train tracks, & road noise be advised for light sleepers.

    Shayna2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amara was very flexible with check-in and very understanding when our flight was delayed and we arrived very late. Our stay was only for 1 night but Amara was very helpful and welcoming.

    Alexander2015-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amara's loft was beautiful and blew our expectations away. We stayed in her new loft (in the same building) which she had just moved to the day we arrived. All past complaints about noise should be disregarded as this new loft has concrete walls and no outside noise creeps in. The loft itself was fantastic. As a former Detroit resident, the location couldn't have been better for everything we wanted to do. You can easily walk to Corktown and get a great cup of coffee at Astro or brunch and beers at the bars nearby and it's a 5/10 minute drive downtown to concert venues, museums, casinos, sport stadiums, grocery stores and Belle Isle State Park. Amara was always available if we needed anything, was a great host and her loft felt like home. Couldn't recommend this place any more and can't wait to come back. Thank you!

    Mark2015-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Upstairs and downstairs bathroom. Check-in / check out very easy and convenient. I would stay here again.

    Chris2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • A bit strange upon check in, as you have to wait for someone to come out of the building to initially enter. The location was very close to cool areas (driving) like Corktown. If you plan on cooking during your stay, you'll have to bring your own tools--we went grocery shopping and realized there was no cutting board nor cutting knives :[ The kitchen also smelled like toxic cleaning products. We were also concerned about the screaming children next door and constant noise from the TV. Of course this isn't anything the host can control, but it was certainly not as quiet as advertised. All in all, it was a fine stay for a good price.

    Carlisle2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice Loft, perfect for a couple. friendly owner. Safe place with gate. Nice view of the downtown. everything is clean. 2 min in car to michigan ave bars and restaurants ! bring your own towels ! Good spot for our 2 days trip in Detroit !!

The Claddagh loft is on Michigan Ave. upstairs from the legendary PJ’s Lager House, a music bar and restaurant. This large loft space is a great getaway for a couple and is comfortable for up to six people. To be absolutely clear, the loft is intended to be used by those who reserved it. IN NO WAY IS IT ACCEPTABLE TO HOST A PARTY OR LARGE GATHERING OR "Having all my friends stop by before we head out." If you have any questions contact the owner prior to reserving. Thank you.
Claddagh loft has exposed brick walls, hardwood floors and tall ceilings which gives this newly renovated 1200 sq. ft. loft a very spacious feel. There is a private bedroom with a traditional queen bed, a second queen bed in the main room a fold down couch that opens into a full sized bed. There is a sectional couch that separates and can be slept on comfortably. There is a full kitchen with gas stove & oven, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. There are dishes, silverware and glasses for 4-6 people. The bathroom is new with a walk in shower and towels are provided. The space offers guests a truly authentic Detroit experience... but remember, THE BAR LOCATED DOWNSTAIRS CLOSES AT 2AM. THERE IS SOME SOUNDPROOFING, BUT DO NOT EXPECT THE SPACE TO BE COMPLETELY QUIET. The loft is intended for the use of those who have reserved it. It is not to be used for parties or gatherings of more than the reserved number of guests. If you have questions, contact the owner prior to making you reservation. There is a lot of history in this 1914 structure, but it has all the amenities. The kitchen island was built from salvaged Detroitus, including the island top pieced from a demolished high school gym’s basketball court. Flooring throughout came from the historic Hudson’s department store that was imploded in 1998. Claddagh harks back to the days when travelers stayed in the rooms above an inn or roadhouse. It can be rented as lodging by the night or week. THE HISTORY Claddagh is located at the east end of Detroit’s oldest neighborhood, Corktown. Downstairs is PJ’s Lager House, which is open daily until 2am. Kitchen till midnight. Next door to the west, is the Brooklyn St. Local, a very nice local diner. Immediately to the east is the DetroitInstitute of Bagels, with real NY style boiled bagels. Within a 10-minute walk there are a number of restaurants and bars ranging from the original sports bar, Nemo’s, to the well-known Detroit rib joint Slows. The neighborhood also boasts the original sight of Tiger Stadium and the empty, iconic Detroit Train Station. Enjoy the history, enjoy the music, enjoy our amazing boot-strapping city. And come back soon. We always love to see you.
Restaurants, bars, cultural sights, casinos and major sporting venues are all within a half hour walking distance. Rental bicycles, Zipcar, Uber, cabs and pedicabs are all available for going further afield to the Motown Museum, Belle Isle and Midtown’s art and shopping venues. However, if you like food and music, the best tavern in Detroit is right in your building. This lovable dive, PJ’s Lager House, was named one of Esquire Magazine’s 200 Best Bars in America and was featured on Esquire TV’s Best Bars in America program. PJ’s Lager House has been serving up original Detroit music by local and national bands since the '90s It’s a favorite haunt of local musicians of all genres, rock, punk, roots, Americana. You never know who you might meet here. In fact, many first-time visitors to Detroit stop in to meet the ridiculously friendly regulars – and PJ, the owner – who are full of advice on what to do and where to go and love to talk about their city. For you history buffs: Situated above PJ’s Lager House, Claddagh is at the gateway to Corktown, Detroit’s oldest neighborhood named for the Irish immigrants who settled there. P.J.’s Lager House made its home on Michigan Ave. in 1914. It was a restaurant, bakery, furniture store and finally, after Prohibition was repealed, a beer garden. In the fifties and sixties the Lager House was a hangout for Irish politicians and celebrities like the actor Pat O’Brien whose portrait hangs in the bar. Later it was much beloved by the Teamsters whose union local is only a few blocks away. Local legend has it that when the teamsters wanted to drink later than the owner wished to stay, he’d hand over the keys and let them leave payment for their drinks on the bar and lock up after themselves. Today the regulars are there for the camaraderie, the drinks, but mostly the food! Much of the menu will take you right to New Orleans: po’ boys and the best gumbo in town. Another part of the menu will take you to vegetarian or vegan heaven with a wide selection of options. There are also gluten free options (even gluten free beer)! Of course, we also serve great char-grilled hamburgers, corned beef, burritos, nachos, and homemade soups. We serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am-3pm with a menu you’ll find nowhere else with wonderful choices ranging from vegan biscuits and gravy, to corned beef hash or our other-worldly shrimp and grits!
  • Listing description was very accurate. Very clean and had a lot of charm. We stayed there for the Detroit Half Marathon and it is right along the end of the race route. It was our first experience using Airbnb and we were very happy with our stay!

One of the most beautiful homes on Airbnb. This is a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom historic home in one of the most beautiful, one of a kind neighborhood of Detroit. Woodbridge is in Midtown, and a mile from most of Detroit's finest sights, art, and stadiums. About the Cleaning Fee: I get none of this amount. There is a neighborhood group of three that help maintain the place. All cleaning fees go to them.
This is a great 4000 sq/ft three story single family home. Very spacious with tons of light. All the bedrooms have great closet space and two rooms have en suite full baths.
Woodbridge is one of the most beautiful areas of Detroit. Within 1-2 miles of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Whole Foods, Eastern Market, Downtown, Wayne State. Comerica Park, Ford Field, Masonic Temple, Fox Theater, Corktown. Detroit safety and emptiness comes up often. This house is in the safest part of Detroit. We are the only area that is patrolled by three police departments due to Wayne State University and the variety of medical centers near by. Many are thrown off by the current state of Detroit. There are amazing small "islands" of great neighborhoods throughout the city, but a lot of emptiness, grafitti, and development between all of them. You can't escape it if you are staying in Detroit. It's the nature of our city. This house is in one of the safest and most quiet neighborhoods in all of Detroit. We are only a mile from city center and most attractions. My reviews tend to be all 5 stars except sometimes we fall short in "location". I attribute this to guests being unfamiliar with Detroit, so I am trying to give a more detailed background of the nature of our city.
  • The absolute best Airbnb experience. I've stayed here multiple times. Can't recommend it highly enough!

    Hazel2015-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a find! George makes you feel right at home in this beautiful (and huge) house. Fairly central location, only 5-10 minutes to downtown, the Eastern Market, Corktown, etc. The beds were great and he even provided us with a pack and play for our little boy. Woodbridge is a little gem of a neighbourhood. As Canadians who haven't experienced many Fourth of July celebrations, we were shocked at the number of fireworks the locals were lighting off, but it was all in good fun. Even the rowdy party next door was completely quiet by 2 am and cleaned up in the morning. Detroiters - you know how to party it up right. Too bad all of us young parents hit the hay by 11. Will definitely look to stay here again if we come down for another Tigers game!

    T.J.2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • About the house - Beautiful and big house. Very well equipped. The attention to detail is excellent. Shows what Detroit city must've been in its hay day. More than enough room for 6 people. About the host - Although I never had a chance to meet George he was very prompt with his emails and communication couldnt have been better. Check in process was super smooth too. George was always available via text to answer questions. He left a great list of things to do / restaurants to eat at. To sum it up - it was an extremely comfortable stay in this beautiful house that has absolutely well appointed bedrooms and living areas - we will definitely be staying here for all our future Detroit visits.

    Bhupendra2014-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • George was an excellent host! Super responsive during the booking process and very helpful when arriving. My editorial team that stayed only had positive feedback about their stay. I would definitely have my team stay at George's place for the auto show next year!

    Melissa2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is boss! Danielle is possibly the sweetest most accommodating airbnb host I've ever had. She also has impeccable taste and is generous with bathroom amenities! It takes 10 minutes max to get anywhere in Detroit from her place. The building that the loft is in is a bit decrepit, but this just adds to the Detroit experience. There were no rodent or critter issues at all.

    Jessica2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room was absolutely amazing and the hosts were so very kind. They were great when it came to communication and they were very accommodating when it to things that I needed. I can't wait to come back and stay here again!

  • Danielle is a fantastic host. She leaves customized suggestions for best places in Detroit. We loved staying at her loft. the place is beautifully decorated, open and comfortable. The building is close to downtown and it's safe. Couldn't have wished for a better experience in Detroit.

  • I must admit I thought I was in the wrong place. It's a business with a sofa bed (nice and firm) upstairs. My purpose was just to crash for a few nights. It is very lively as a rental spot for parties and such is across the street. Definitely entertaining. The host seem nice but did not see her at all but received a welcome message. Located close to the highway which was a plus.

FREE morning coffee! You won't find a better value in Windsor! This is a quiet, sunny private room in a house with lightning-fast wifi, in which I am the ONLY tenant. I didn't like the budget offerings in Windsor so I'm offering a better stay. It's a single bed w/ work station and closet but if there's a couple we can switch it for a full Queen bed. Room is right next to washroom. Downstairs is TV, speakers, ample living area and full kitchen. Backyard w/ garden, front porch with chairs
My house is lovely, quiet and warm! Lightning-fast wifi, ample space to chill out and everything you need to cook and live. There's parking on the street and it's extremely close to the university. My guest is my only focus. No one else. At my Airbnb I only offer one room (meaning that I focus on one guest at a time). That means you get personal space, peace + quiet, and a bathroom + kitchen that's only used by one other person (me). Even when I am home, I try my best to stay out of your way, give you access to everything and let you do your thing.
Quiet neighbourhood near beautiful parks and the university of Windsor.

  • This was the perfect spot for our two night stay in Detroit. The area was perfect for walking to shops or downtown, the space was exactly as pictured and super clean, and Jon and Marissa are great hosts. I definitely recommend this space for anyone staying in Detroit.

    Kelsey2017-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jon & Melissa are very nice. I was in Detroit for my work and the truth is that they've been very helpful. A great experience, a great place and a really nice neighborhood... I really recommend there place. Thanks again for everything!!!

  • You'll be comfortable and feel right at home at this place! It's a nicely sized suite for 2 people with a comfortable bed for 2 and chairs for relaxing. The space was clean and adorably decorated for our stay, and they provide a lot of bathroom amenities like body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The kitchen includes basic utensils and a mini fridge, and they even provided snacks and soda and beer for our stay! Corktown is also an awesome neighborhood with restaurants, cafes, and a couple breweries all within walking distance. I'll definitely be staying here again if I need to come to Detroit!

    Dipika2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • You are going to be spoiled! This place is safe, quiet, spotless, convenient, roomy, and full of extras. Enjoy the funky neighborhood with it's amazing coffee, cool bars, wonderful retro sites and laid back vibe.

    jean2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jon was quick to respond when I had questions about the space prior to booking. I felt safe in this neighborhood. I enjoyed my stay and would visit again!

    Kari2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jon was so friendly and communicated very quickly with us. We were able to check in a little early. The timing was perfect. Jon was outside when we pulled up. His instructions were clear and we felt like we could ask him for whatever we needed. He was familiar with the restuarants and breweries nearby and gave us some great suggestions. The Mini-Suite was clean and just what we expected from the pictures. Close to bars and restuarants, neat, and easy to access.

    Lisa2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jon and Marissa's mini-suite is fantastic! I agree with the other reviewer (Fatima) that the pictures don't do it justice at all. They certainly have put some good thought into the renovation: all the little details add up to a very comfortable experience, and you feel very much welcomed. There is plenty of room for two people. Besides the bed shown in the picture (which is super comfortable!) there are two armchairs, and the kitchenette has its own eating area with bar stools. They even left organic coffee and oatmeal (toppings and all!) for breakfast! They also have some reading material handy - I particularly enjoyed taking a look at the history of Detroit one. We actually only met Marissa and Jon in person briefly, as we had a busy schedule during our visit, but they both were extremely kind and helpful. We were worried about coming back late from a show, but the separate entrance ensured that we didn't have to bother them. The area is charming, and as both the description and the other reviewers say, there's plenty to do nearby. There are some restaurants, a cool bagel shop and a very nice brewery all within walking distance. We had a great time! Thanks a lot Jon and Marissa!

    Carmen2015-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jon's place was perfect! A very charming, cozy, and clean place to rest for the night. It's got a lovely little kitchen area, where he thoughtfully left little snacks and some oatmeal for breakfast, as well as some tea and coffee. The bed was VERY comfortable and we loved the softness of the t-shirt cotton sheets. The location is also perfect and within striking distance of everyplace we wanted to check out (Downtown; Corktown; Eastern Market).

Clean, secure, 1 bedroom in a cozy suburban oasis with 3 cats, a large yard, and proximity to all Detroit has to offer. Less than 20 minute drive to Hart Plaza, Metro Airport, COBO hall, Comerica Park, Little Caesars arena, Ford Field, Ambassador bridge, Canadian tunnel and Detroit Medical Center. Less than 10 minute drive to FoMoCo Headquarters or Beaumont hospital- Dearborn. Less than an hour drive to Toledo, Ann Arbor, The Palace, Great Lakes Crossing. LGBTQ- friendly.
The neighborhood is mostly blue collar working class homes. It was originally built in the 50's for housing options for families who worked at the auto plants a few cities over. The current neighbors are a diverse mix of racial/ethnic backgrounds and very friendly. Everyone says hello and waves to each other when taking a stroll. I have lived here for 14 years, have never had a problem, and continue to feel safe living alone. There are ample restaurants and shopping centers within walking distance.
  • Phoenix's home was lovely and the perfect spot to call home for our few days of exploring the Detroit area. We were only in the house to sleep so we actually never met in person, but her communication was clear and quick, and we had no trouble whatsoever getting set up in her (very comfortable) guest room. The 3 cats are fun travel companions and the white one, Feisti, is incredibly friendly and loves to come in for a snuggle if you happen to leave the door open even a crack. House had great character and was fun and cozy. Parking was a breeze too (and you'll almost certainly need a car if you're going to stay here).

    Avery2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Just can't be beat for the price. The neighborhood is quiet and the bed is hands down the MOST comfortable bed. I've slept in $400/nt hotels that aren't as comfortable. Phoenix is quiet and sweet and the entire ambiance was extremely welcoming.

  • Phoenix was amazing! I really needed a place to stay and her home was heaven sent:) it was clean, close to where I work and It was kept clean. The room had everything I needed and I felt really at home the whole time I was there. Phoenix was also really flexible with her hours for check in and while I was there, for which I was extremely thankful. Thanks again! I 100% recommend:)

    Suzy2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Even more charming than the pictures! Phoenix was a great host, and has created a very welcoming environment. She had a thorough guide put together to tell you the hot spots around the city, and her personal recommendations for dinner were spot on. A short drive from Fairlane Green, which had an inclusive variety of stores for all of the random little things I had to pick up (due to poorly planned packing). Very convenient. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

    Emily2017-08-18T00:00:00Z

I like cats in the house and particularly, Feisti, is very friendly. Thanks to Feisti. I found it a perfect place for my stay. This is an excellent place and I would highly recommend.

It's located in Mexican town behind the El Club if you're looking for a spot to crash after a concert. It's close to 75 & Vernor Hwy & a short drive to Cork town, Riverfront & downtown. It was the perfect location for us & the two bathrooms were a plus! Please note - there is no a/c, but there are huge industrial windows we were able to open & it was a cool day. There is also no wifi, but I was able to tether my phone, so no problem there either. There is gated parking & we had no issues, but there are some empty dilapidated warehouses surrounding the building that may scare off some people. We stayed there the night of the McGregor/Mayweather fight, so there were lots of parties & loud music. We didn't mind the noise since we were there for fun & not business. If you're looking for a 4 star hotel, this isn't it. If want to stay like a local in an original, industrial apartment with no frills, this place is for you. We very much enjoyed our stay & felt at home. Plus, Josh is a great artist & we liked his screen prints & Simpson's paintings!

  • Josh was wonderful host. I loved his place, and I loved the building where it was! Josh patiently waited for me (my plane was late), bought breakfast for me, left me some food, and promptly answered all my messages. This was a great experience!!! :) :) :)

  • Fun stay! Unique place!

  • Josh was a great host, and was very accommodating to us and our needs. The apartment itself is really cool, a loft apartment in an old factory. I highly recommend this apartment and this host!

    Paul2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cool place. If you want to experience the "grit" of Detroit, this is it. If you want anything else, look elsewhere. I enjoyed seeing Detroit through an honest lens. Josh was cool and discreet.

Beautiful Four Square turn of the century house in the Historic Woodbridge Neighborhood. Mid-town location in the cultural district next to Wayne State University.
Cathy is an urban gardener/horticulturalist/artist. Gary is an animator/artist/educator.
The Woodbridge Historic Neighborhood(1860's - 1920's) is a modern day Mayberry in an urban/rural setting.
  • Gary was very amicable and his house is extremely unique, feeling like the home of a very well traveled artist. Barney the dog was also very sweet.

  • Gary and Katherine made me feel so welcome in their home. The whole experience was quite sybaritic: music, good food, and fantastic architecture and art. My room was warm and inviting. The location of their art filled house is close to public transportation in downtown Detroit. We shared thought provoking conversations in the early morning and late evening.

    Elaine2014-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Gary and Kathy were terrific hosts very welcoming and eager to show me the city of Detroit. Gary's post industrial apocalyptic landscape tour provided me with all the insights of a well informed local. Just what I was looking for as a first time visitor of the city. The house is lovely and the bed comfortable. Will definitely book again on my next visit.

    Stefan2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Avery was great! Lots of stuff to see and do nearby. The loaner bike was perfect to join the famous Slow Roll and the free show at the Wayne State Art X series was fantastic. Go to Detroit Threads for a history lesson in music, go visit Alan at Packard Bicycles for economy lesson, Batch brewing for the best beer in town, and sniff out the underground hip-hop warehouse shows if that's your thing. Just don't walk around alone, act like a tourist, or gawk at the urban decay and you'll be just fine - didn't want to leave. Can't wait to go back home with visual proof to support my arguments - this country is owned by China and run by corrupt American Citizens. It's up to us to open our eyes, chat with all these awesome characters and make sure the rest of the country doesn't wake up to a rude awakening!

  • Gary and Cathy were super friendly. Check-in was easy and they made us feel welcome and at home. We spent a nice evening chatting with them and the location was convenient to access different parts of the city.

    Kat2015-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gary and Cathy are incredibly nice, smart, low key hosts. They made my first Airbnb experience easy and stressfree. Their house is in a walkable neighborhood of older, well-kept homes. Make sure to leave time in your schedule for Gary's tour and to enjoy Cathy ' s backyard garden.

    Kate2015-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Avery is beautiful, warm home with great hosts. They were very flexible regarding my arrival time and communication with them was great. I would definitely stay again!

    Anna2015-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment I arrived, Cathy and Gary made me feel like I was coming home. Their open-mindedness, generosity, and warmth made it very easy for me to relax and enjoy my month with them. Their house is a gem filled with wonderful pieces of art which all have a story behind them. My room had a large and very comfortable bed and armchair, A/C, closet, drawer, and window with drapes; everything one needs to have a comfortable stay. Cathy was very helpful and jump-started my field research on urban agriculture by connecting me to several people I was having difficulties getting a hold of. I especially enjoyed cooking with her, she has a real gift turning the vegetables she grows into beautiful dishes. Gary is a passionate animation artist and a bundle of energy. He is very well-connected in the Detroit art scene and I benefitted from this immensely. We went to a lot of openings where he introduced me to many interesting and inspiring artists. Barney is a very kind dog with entertaining and adorable traits and not a bad bone in his body. We became friends quickly. He enjoyed my petting him and I enjoyed looking at his soul-melting face. All in all, I would come back to stay with them in a heart-beat! Both went out of their ways to introduce me to the city and its wonderful people. Cathy and Gary made me benefit tremendously from my stay here and they were beyond helpful in my endeavor to learn to understand the culture and the people of Detroit. I will treasure the conversations we had and I hope to come back as soon as possible for a longer stay.

Hola-Hello! My place is great for travelers looking to get an authentic Detroit experience with insights from someone who was born and raised here. We’re located in the vibrant area of Southwest Detroit which is 1.5 miles from Downtown and many of the things that bring people to our city including: the Renaissance Center, Cobo Hall, Hart Plaza, Eastern Market, Wayne State University, Historic Michigan Central Station, Mexicantown Business District, Riverwalk, and the Detroit Institute of Art.
As we say in Detroit: “WHAT UP DOE?!” My home is cozy, sunny, clean and peaceful. My cat Matis will give you endless kitty cuddles and in the warmer months, the backyard or front porch areas are great for lounging and relaxing. Whether you're here for business or to check out what's going on in Detroit, we think you will love staying with us!
Southwest Detroit is one of the most vibrant and diverse areas of the city, with strong ties to Latino art and culture. We have lots of great restaurants, bakeries, concert venues, bars and public art/murals to enjoy! My spot is one block south of the iconic Michigan Central Train Station and to the north you can see the Ambassador Bridge to Canada from my porch. We're also down the street from a community icon, Honeybee Market - La Colmena, where you will find fresh local produce and lots of Mexican specialties. Other places nearby include: Green Dot Stables, Slows BBQ, Mercury Bar, the Mexicantown Business District, Huron Room, Our Detroit Vodka, Two James Distillery, Corktown Neighborhood, Mexicantown Mercado, Mexican Village Restaurant, Hello Records, Mama Coo's Boutique, McShanes, Red Corridor Bar, Motorcity Wine, El Club Detroit, Mangonadas del Barrio, Clark Park, La Gloria Bakery, Algo Especial Market. Some things that are within a 5-10 min ride are: the Downtown Detroit areas, Riverwalk, Ford Field, Comerica Park, Cobo Hall, Joe Louis Arena, the Renaissance Center, Hart Plaza, Eastern Market, Wayne State University, the Detroit Institute of Art, MOCAD, Fox Theatre, and Campus Martius.
  • Great deal for the location - walking distance to Corktown and downtown! Seemed like a safe area

    Holly2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • I had a long layover at DTW, i booked this place to spend a night in Detroit. It was a little bit far from the airport, not so much time for me to spend in the city, but because i stayed here, i was able to see most of what i wanted in Detroit. Everywhere is just walking distance. The Ambassador bridge is about 15mins away, you can sit in the Riverside park to wave at the people from Canda on the other side. The abandoned Michigan Central Station is 5 mins away. For those who are up for a short trip or even a long one that wants to experience most of the City, i recommend this place.

  • Amelia was very reliable and prompt in all her responses. The room was very cozy. I loved that Amelia added touches like a library of fantastic reads (we have the same taste in books lol). She even had a list posted with tips about where things were (like the iron, towels, etc.) and where to find places to eat. The south west neighbourhood contained a supermarket (so convenient) and other shops and restaurants close by. I took quick uber rides to my destinations like the Eastern market. Another guest stayed in the other room and we got on very well. We both found speaking with Amelia who shared her passion for her community truly enriched my stay and outlook on Detroit. Her cat was cute and friendly. At the same time she was also busy and the type of host that would respect the space of a guest looking for a less sociable stay. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Amelia for being so accommodating and enriching my stay! I will definitely rebook on a future visit.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Tammy's lovely home. The room was clean and peaceful, with a super comfortable bed! Communication was easy and check-in/out was a breeze. Only 5 minutes to the Ambassadaor Bridge, it was a great place for our day trip to Detroit. Tammy is a great host and had fantastic suggestions for things to see/do/eat in the area. Highly recommended.

    Susan2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tammy was hugely hospitable and showed great patience with us even when we showed up 3 hours later than we had said! She texted us all the way along, guiding us to our destination, gave us advice on both cities we had on our itinerary, made us breakfast and coffee in the morning and was just a pleasure in general! The house itself was large and stately, the photos do not do it justice! There was even a basket of slippers!! 5 Stars!!!!!

    Jeremy2015-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I recently stayed at Tammy's for a second time and again it was a pleasant and wonderful experience. We travel to Windsor several times a year and Tammy's place had become our go to place to stay. Tammy and her husband are very welcoming, our room is always clean and cozy. Tammy supplies everything from towels, toiletries and continental breakfast. She's located close to the border and minutes away from downtown Windsor.

    Shirley2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • I recently stayed at Tammy & Greg's house for a week while visiting family and friends in Windsor. The private room, on the upstairs floor with access to a full bathroom, TV room, and kitchenette was perfect for my needs. Even though the other rooms upstairs were also rented out while I was there, I seldom saw the renters as we were all coming and going at different times. I never felt crowded, and did not have to wait to use the facilities. The house and property was very nice. The location is close to major roads so it was easy to get around town. Fairly close to lots of food options. The house is also close to a few beautiful, large nature areas with lots of trails for walking. Both Tammy and Greg were very hospitable and easy to talk to. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a place to stay in the Windsor area. I would not hesitate to stay here again next time I am in Windsor

  • The Nunnery in Windsor is a wonderful place. Tammy is welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. She greets you at the door and was available to answer any of our questions. The place is beautiful, quiet, clean, spacious and has everything that we needed. Tammy provided a continental breakfast in the morning which was nicely displayed and always ready when we got up. It is conveniently located, about a 5 minute drive to downtown Windsor, but it was also easy to access the highway for our trip to Pelee Island. I would highly recommend this place.

  • Great location near eastern market, secure parking and Dj was easy to communicate with. My only complaint (which I'm not taking points off from the rating) is the building is quite old and has very squeaky floors- I'm a light sleeper and woke up constantly when the neighbors walked around. The building is super cool though, and the folks we ran into inside were really nice.

  • Mary Clare's place is located close to the bus which takes you to Downtown in no time. The best thing about staying at Mary Clare's was meeting her. She is a lovely host: she offered me advice about which sites to visit, washed my clothes and gave me a lift to town and bus station. On top of all these wonderful things, she offered me a novel in my native language.

  • Had a great 3 night stay while visiting Windsor for a friends wedding. Wasn't planning on spending a lot of time with many things to do and aces to visit, so just wanted something clean and safe. The welcome process and communication was great, room was neat and details like coffee machine in room was appreciated. We had the third floor which only had a drape for a door, a locking door would have been nice. The shared areas were very nice. We had a minor issue with the front door, but communication was great and solved quickly. Thanks Mary!

  • The room I had was amazing. Plenty of space and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was even better than the pictures suggest! Mary was a good host even though I did not meet her: She left a towel in the room, a house key, and a note with the wifi information. Good location a short uber ride away (or walk) from downtown. • Mary and Courtney made me feel like a friend coming home to Windsor for the weekend from the moment they picked me up from the train station. Mary's communication before and during the stay was excellent and the room was great - super comfortable bed and very spacious. The Keurig in the room was a nice touch also. I was offered fruit in the kitchen and Mary and Courtney even took the time to ask if I was hungry when I arrived off a late train. I felt very welcome and totally at home, would definitely recommend.

  • Loved the customer service provided by the home`s hostess Linda, the home`s decor and cleanliness, and the home`s proximity to all the places where I wanted to go.

  • Mary did an excellent job at making me feel comfortable. Her house was very clean and stylish. I felt like I was right at home. I would definitely go back in the future. She also makes great squash.

When we first moved into our little loft from the suburbs into the city, we were excited and nervous. Excited to finally have a loft apartment in the "Big" city and nervous because we had no idea what it had to offer. Three years later we have seen the growth of Detroit as a city and we have grown to love our proximity to everything! Great bars, restaurants, casinos, stadiums, literally everything. So we decided to share the wealth with you!
Let me warn you ahead of time. This is not a 5 - Star Hotel. But, if you are in search of a quaint little studio, boasting the industrial charm of the city and an optimal location, then we welcome you to our spot! Our studio offers 600 square feet of beautiful wooden floors, a queen sized bed, full kitchen, full bath, lots of storage, and all the necessities to make your stay pleasurable.

  • Hemory shared check-in information early and made the check-in easy. He also recommended a couple great spots in Detroit. The place was as described and shown in the photos.

  • Place was awesome. Hosts were excellent communicators and provided everything I could need for my stay. Apartment itself was super clean and well provisioned (snacks, bottled water, tea!), and I loved the open floor plan. As other reviewers mentioned, the unit is just off a relatively busy freeway, so it is fairly bright a somewhat loud throughout the night, but nothing a person couldn't get used to. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

  • I was in town to take care of some business and catch a Tigers game! I generally stay in a shared Air B&B space but it was nice to have an entire space all to myself and the location was perfect! Freeway access is nearby if you have to get somewhere by car, almost everything in Corktown is within walking distance, and Downtown/ Stadiums are a short Uber/Taxi ride away or a game day shuttle bus from a couple nearby Corktown pubs (which is what I used). The place was clean and secure, check-in/ check-out was made easy by the hosts! One thing I always need to conduct business when traveling is reliable internet, no complaints here, it worked fine for me every time!

  • Although not pretty on the outside, inside the apartment the place is nice and spacious. Very very clean and welcoming. Pauline and Hemmery were very friendly and helpful! Next time you're in town for concert, stay here!

  • This place is really great! Close to the interstate so you get a lot of sound from that but usually the air conditioner drowned it out. I would go here again, we had to arrive late and they were completely understanding and quick to communicate. Awesome place overall!

  • Don't judge a book by its cover on this one!! The city of Detroit is actively working to re-vamp its appearance, and this loft location is no exception. Inside you will find a great loft that will meet your accommodation needs handsomely. Comfortable bed, large windows, air conditioning & a fan to keep the air circulating. A bookcase with a selection of books and games... nice touch!! :) Kitchen has an island and kitchenette that you can prepare your meals. Coffee, tea and granola bars were a nice surprise, and cold water waiting in the the fridge. Bathroom had supplies - hair dryer, hygiene products and clean linens. We had self-check-in which was a breeze. Hemory came to introduce himself once he had the chance, and was wonderful & friendly. We enjoyed our visit greatly!

  • This place was great for my quick work trip. Hemory was very communicative and flexible with my work schedule. The loft was lovely and seemed bigger than the photos. It's in a great location, would stay here again on future trips!

  • A great little hidden spot. Neighborhood seems a bit rough but we had no issues and enjoyed a great breakfast right down the street, recommended by the host. An easy uber or drive right into downtown and no issues with the studio itself. All around a great nights stay.

1600 sq ft loft in the heart of Corktown. A short jaunt to the river, downtown, midtown etc.. My loft space has 40' x 9' of windows overlooking the city. The building is comprised of artist work/live spaces. The halls are decked with the owners collection of local art. I am a designer and stitcher of all things. I've had a menswear collection, commercial/contract sewing company, costume designed, and large scale fabric site installations. Currently between here and NYC. Space run by Mara.
This is the ultimate sewn product makers space. Set your inspiration free with all the natural lighting that can fill the 16ft high ceilings. Great resource and reference library and serenity as there are no tv's! Do your morning vinyasa's on the expanse of floor.

  • Great location close to airport, greyhound shuttle, near many places to get food and drinks and plenty of night life and casinos around! Very clean unit, house looks kind of old but very well maintained!

  • The Bagley room was great- just as it was advertised. Very clean, comfortable room with a lovely attached bathroom. The house was quiet, and the hosts had left some pages with helpful tips on the area. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!

  • This room is really nice--a historic feel and very comfortable.

  • This is my second time staying with Mindy and Tony, and I'm not sure what I can say in my second review that I missed in my first. This is a great space in a great location. Everything is clean, the space is beautifully efficient without sacrificing charm, and it's maybe ten minutes from downtown if that. Perfect!

    Penny2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the stay, the accomondation was neat, clean and picturesque. Mindy and Tony were helpful and answered all the questions that we had before the visit. In the neighbourhood there are some cool restaurants, bars and shops. And a nice brewery just a block away.

  • Staying with Mindy and Tony was absolutely amazing. The house and room was everything I expected and more. We were lucky enough to be able to meet Mindy and Tony. They were so nice and hospitable. I would highly recommend the Bagley room and cannot wait to stay here again!
