  • Hanna's place is just as pictured - gorgeous, spacious, impeccably decorated. Not to mention she offers a well-stocked kitchen, an amazing welcome basket and lots of toys and games for kids and adults alike. The property and shoreline are great to just gaze at or explore, though I would recommend water shoes for swimmers as the beach is rather rocky. A beautiful, beautiful place.

  • What an amazing location and space! For my first Air B&B experience this place met all of my expectations! The property is so beautiful and the cottage is gorgeous, definitely worth it to stay longer than two days - there is just so much to do and appreciate! The perfect place to host my friends for a weekend and not have to worry about bothering anyone around us! Hanna was fantastic, she met us on arrival, gave a quick walk through of the cottage and then she left us to do our own thing! We can't wait to come back next summer for at least a weekend if not longer!

    Megan2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time at staying at Hanna's Airbnb! Her cottage was beautiful and equipped with all the necessities. The welcome package was thoughtful and delicious. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Thank you Hanna for the wonderful stay. Your home is beautiful. We loved the beach, the books, the fire and the quiet. We loved the welcome basket. Especially the coffee! Your pantry is well stocked with basics and this is SO helpful for large families like ours. Thank you for a cozy and worry free long weekend by the sea. We will visit again!

  • The Murray house, built in 1899, is absolutely spectacular and lovely. It is large and clean and can accommodate a number of people comfortably. Peter has all modern updates such as dishwasher, washer and dryer and microwave available as well. Highly recommended!! We loved our stay there.

  • We loved the house & River John

    Bill2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • My extended family of 7 adults and 1 toddler stayed at the Murray House for 4 nights in August. We had a wonderful time. The house was spacious, inviting, and beautifully kept. Just a 10 minute drive to the beach and a short drive to the new Mabel Murple's Book Shoppe and Dreamery that our toddler loved. We cooked all of our meals at the house and the kitchen amenities and BBQ were much appreciated. The 5 bedrooms are large and comfortable and everyone agreed they enjoyed their stay and would be happy to return. Gorgeous property. Peter the host was wonderful to deal with and helped me sort out a confusing Airbnb glitch prior to the trip. Thank you again for all your help!

    Andrea2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's house is a very impressive and a nice, roomey one, as according to the pictures. We went places from here on, but I think I had wished we had more time to enjoy the house completely. This is definitely a place to stay if you're looking for family retreat and quietness. The place has a soul and we all liked it, adults and teens alike..

    Louise2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • First of all let me say how lovely this home was. The furniture alone and the details of the home were beautiful. This home is huge. It has five bedrooms upstairs. Can easily fit 10 people in beds and room for blowup mattresses. (That's just upstairs). The main floor has two living rooms that are huge, for dining room, kitchen consists of two rooms and the area out back is the party area. Has a bar area and lots of place to play games, watch TV or even use this area for people to stay. Great host. Great manager. Clean. Neighbours great. Absolutely no issues. Will stay again.

  • Great place! Susan was nice and always ready to answer questions via text/e-mail! Great place to get away from the city. Super clean and well equipped cabin. I'd come back again!

    Lindsay2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • My family (husband, 2 daughters), stayed at Susan's cottage over Thanksgiving Weekend with the goal to unplug, relax and spend time with one another. The cottage was cozy, clean, and complete with so many thoughtful extras that made our holiday goals easily happen. It's location is great, and close to many things including Tatamagouche (Brewery and Farmers Market are a must!), Sugar Moon Farm, and plenty of fantastic hiking and cycling trails (great for our outdoorsy family) . The water in the Northumberland straight was still warm enough to swim in too! Extra perk! Fantastic host, Highly recommended.

    Jenn2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our week stay. It was cozy and comfortable. Well furnished and lots of towels and utensils for use. Sheets and blankets too.

    Lynn2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage is at a peaceful and quiet location, a block away from route 6, sunrise trail and a church beside the bay. The cottage is cozy and good enough for a small family. Since it did not have any sort of technological connection such as wifi/internet/phone or TV, we spent time as a family and roamed/drove around a lot, checked out each and every park around, went on a full Cabot trail/highland park,PEI island via ferry and drove back, Peggy's cove, Dartmouth, Halifax, bay of fundy, Wallace, tatamogoush, pugwash, collected clamps in a low tides, fishing and lot more. So it was a lot of driving and fun. Enjoyed it. Only thing that I found in Canada is that every day my car had to travel about 30 miles on gravel road anywhere I went, I think it is great to sightsee the wilderness but I think the tires and car feels miserable. I call those as signature roads of Canada, I tried to avoid them but anywhere you go, I was bound to get one while coming to cottage. So it had it all! Thanks Susan for having us.

    Vishal2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Both the home and area were beautiful! Just what we needed for some down time away from the city!

    Andrew2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 5 stayed for two nights at Nestled Cottage. We knew booking that it would be a cozy fit, and that we'd use the pull out couch in the living room. The cottage was cute with high, slanted ceilings and had everything we needed (including BBQ). We had a great time exploring this area of Nova Scotia, visiting two local beaches. The kids favourite was Skinner's Cove as they saw lots of crabs and thought the water there was warmer.

    Betsy2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • I was not so impressed with this property given what I wanted to do this weekend. The property is advertised as a cottage or cabin with a 200 m walk to the ocean. It is a 200 m walk to the ocean but the property is not a cabin. It is on a very small plot of land and has neighbours on all four sides. The land isn't large enough to have a fire pit while still following NS domestic fire regulations (at least so many feet from the building or deck). It is also very close to the main road so we heard the traffic inside the house. As a cottage (the way the property is listed) I would say that it is very misleading. I think it would be better described as a small well designed home that people could use as a jumping off spot to visit the sights in rural NS. House was very clean and well laid out. Checking in was painful since the code didn't work and I was required to crawl under the an out building to find the key.

Sandy beach with the warmest water in Nova Scotia. Nice and quiet. 10 minutes away from markets and services.
  • Cabin was clean and exactly as expected. Ours was right on the beach, allowing us to go walk in the waters! Rooms were comfortable and having a barbecue was great! Loved every minute of our short stay there. I would love to go again sometime in the future.

  • We met some other families on holiday (they frequent the McLeod's every year and were very welcoming) and enjoyed our first AirBnB cottage in Nova Scotia. Constance's in-laws who were staying at the main cottage/office were very warm and helpful. We were a bit surprised that our cottage was not on the beach, but it was close enough and we benefitted by having a larger space.

  • We liked the size of the place - two bedrooms, and a small kitchen. There was everything we needed inside the house for cooking utensils except for a BBQ lighter, but that was provided by someone at the office quickly. The back deck door didn't work properly, but the view was very nice.

  • Jeanne is a great host. Easily accessible for Q&A, they had everything we thought needed and everything we didn't know we needed! The house is amazing and organized and clean. The beach is a stones throw away and the walls at low-tide is just icing on the cake. Go here for peace and solitude and gorgeous sunsets.

Go for a morning beach walk or sit back and take in the salt air. Be adventurous and grab the kyaks (2) in the chalet and go for a paddle. Located just 15 minutes from the bustling seaside town of Tatamagouche where you'll find quaint restaurants, shops, grocery store, brewery and more. For gas, post office, liquor store & staple items, head to River John just five minutes away. The Northumberland Straight are the warmest waters this side of the Carolinas.
  • The chalet was exactly as described. Carol and Brooke made our rental arrangements and stay a breeze. The location feels secluded with amazing views, yet close to a lot of sightseeing. We loved the modern decor and small cabin charm. Having use of kayaks and laundry facilities was a nice bonus. Totally loved our stay!

  • Beautiful location with a tremendous water views and vista of the Cobequid Hills in the background. Interesting Contemporary interior design. Layout however is best suited for just a couple, due to very small kitchen/ dining area. Four people might find it a bit small, especially if the weather was less than stellar All in all though, very peaceful and relaxing spot

  • This place exceeded our expectations. 3 families totaled 12 people had more than enough space to enjoy each others company. The place is secluded and private, yet you are mere minutes from any amenities you might need. Only issue we had was the couple of Montreal Canadiens paraphernalia we found displayed...... ;) . All joking aside this is a great property, Donald is a great host and would recommend his place to anyone!

  • The beach house was the perfect setting for a family beach holiday. The cottage was "rustic" but very cozy, just as pictured. It had all the amenities that you would need. We combed the beach multiple times a day and fires on the beach were the perfect end of the day. Our host, Kristin was easy to reach and check in was so easy. River John is a nice community and we enjoyed our visits to Tatamagouche as well. They were having a festival while we visited and there was so much going on......something for everyone. Sit on the 750 sq ft deck and enjoy the view, or spend the day on the sandy private beach on an amazing stretch of golden sand. Shallow waters with sand bars at low tide make this a safe place for children to swim and play.
This is an exceptional cottage set on 4 acres with a view of the Northumberland Straight. Cottages like this are almost impossible to find for rent. The shallow water is considered the warmest water north of the Carolinas and the lifestyle is laid back. The gorgeous sandy beach makes up the front acre of the yard. Sunsets are the best part of the day! Preference is weekly rental to families wanting a beach vacation or visitors to the area looking for waterfront home base. There are only a couple homes on this beach so it is a terrific spot. Walk along the 1km beach in the morning or evening!

  • Just returned from our wonderful trip to Nova Scotia, which would not have been nearly as memorable if we had not stayed at Kim's home. Her place was just as she had described it and better. It is a lovely, modern home with an open floor plan down stairs, and two bedrooms, two baths upstairs and a sitting area with TV. Very clean and seems to be very new. They are still doing work on the outside deck but is not a distraction at all. We set many a morning and evening on the deck enjoying the beautiful view of the bay. The sunset is beautiful but the best view is from the beach. There are several houses within viewing distance but only had occupants on the weekend, except one, who appears to live there year around. Very quiet and secluded. If you like lots of activity, this house is not for you. However, it is the perfect quiet retreat. Kim was very good to work with and Hal the caretaker is a gem! We were lucky enough to be there during lobster season, and Hal, being a lobster fisherman, took our order for 4 lobsters and they were absolutely the best lobster we have ever had! Hal also greeted us and made sure everything was in order. I also received several emails from Kim checking on our stay. The home is centrally located to sites, so within l 1/2-2 hours we could visit all parts of Nova Scotia. It is also only 10 minutes from the ferry to Prince Edward Island and that trip is well worth the trip. No cost getting to PEI, but there is a charge to leave the island. I highly recommend this home! Thanks Kim for sharing your wonderful retreat.

  • Best summer family vacation! The home is so beautiful and had everything that we needed. Also, having the private beach right in front of the home was unbelievable! It's a perfect vacation stay for the (URL HIDDEN) quiet and peaceful. Kim is great with responses and very helpful. The caretaker, Hal, is also very kind. He made sure to check up on us and always responded quickly to our questions and even helped us with dining recommendations and things to do in the area! We were able to enjoy fireworks by the waterside and have great family time on the beach. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

  • We just returned from a lovely long weekend in Pictou County at Kim's magnificent Beach Cottage. The property is just as described, and is truly a gem! It was a real treat to be so close to the beach, while also having the modern comforts and amenities in the cottage. Kim and her property manager Hal were great to deal with, and the check-in / check-out went very smoothly. Thanks for a great stay, and some fond memories!

  • Stephan's place was lovely. There were two, very friendly cats that we just couldn't get enough of. It was amazing how secluded the space was - it was nice to just get away and have a peaceful place to write and think. The breakfast is delicious! Stephan bakes his own bread and it was so hearty and filling. I've never had bread like that. What a treat! The location is great. We are very much looking forward to having you stay at our Tata Cottage. As you’ve seen from our pictures this is our home away from home. We fell in love with Tatamagouche 4 years ago and decided to build our forever home of 2 acres of ocean front property. The house itself is a 1 and a half story style with a ¾ wrap-around cedar deck and red tin roof. When you drive up Sand Point Road, I assure you that you can’t miss it!
When you walk in the front door you will immediately see a two-way fireplace the really sets off the great room. We built this house keeping in mind our family and friends and the gatherings that we would be able to host. With that said, you will notice that all of the rooms are just a bit bigger than normal so that everyone has their own space and no one feels on top of each other. The entry way also features a half bathroom, large walk in closet and a laundry room. In the laundry room you will find all of the extras (towels, sheets, detergents etc.) Turning to your immediate right you will be led up into the loft (our favorite space) which features two extra-large bedrooms each with a queen bed, a full bathroom, and a family room. A fun fact - my husband actually hand built the stair treads out of wood from his father’s farm in New Brunswick! Back on the main level you will see the great room that features our wall of windows – you literally have an ocean view from anywhere in the home. To your left you will find our beautiful kitchen that is stocked with everything you would need to prepare beautiful meals, a raised breakfast bar with four stools and an extra-large dining table that can comfortably seat 8 adults. If you lower the stools they work perfect at the table for our smaller visitors as well. On the main level you will also find the master suite – this room has a king sized bed, a walk in closet, and an ensuite with a soaker tub, walk in double shower, and dual vanity. There is access to the deck from three points – the front door, off of the dining room and out of the master bedroom. The house also has Internet and Apple TV which we use to host a Netflix account. Not as exciting but equally as important, the home is heated/cooled using geothermal, which means there is whole house AC during those hot humid days. The house also features hot water on demand, which I have personally tested between bath time, laundry and a dishwasher cycle. Please do not hesitate to test it out for yourself. We have a pretty big water tank system so in order for the temperature to be regulated a certain amount of water needs to be drawn. This means that when you're taking a shower upstairs we usually also run the tap on hot or in the master bathroom just make sure that both shower heads are turned on. This will ensure that the water temperature won't fluctuate ☺️. We also have a number of camping style chairs that are perfect for days down on the beach, and a propane fireplace that stays on the deck and is perfect for roasting marshmallows. Tata Cottage is also a smoke-free home. There is plenty of space around the property, we just ask that guests that do smoke do so away from the house and most definitely not inside. We are very much looking forward to sharing our cottage with you and hope that your family creates some amazing memories at Tata Cottage.
Sand Point is a beautiful and tranquil setting. Being near the end of a no-through road minimizes the traffic and allows you to relax to the sounds of nature.
  • We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Tata cottage. Kate was a great host with timely responses to any questions we had. The cottage itself had a gorgeous view, well stocked spacious kitchen (basics of oils, vinegar, spices there which is great when preparing your own food), very clean, and had a very comfortable vacation worthy king sized bed in the master bedroom. Would highly recommend! Thank you Kate.

  • Amazing place!!! Great hosts - super responsive to our questions. We had a wonderful holiday on the water. Gorgeous views and lots of space for our two families.

  • Staying at the Tata cottage was an absolute pleasure. The location was secluded but still only a few minutes drive to the main Tatamagouche area. Very peaceful with modern finishes and luxuries of home to make for a comfortable stay.

    Allison2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Tata Cottage is everything we could have expected and was perfect for a gentlemen's golf getaway. A beautiful property with stunning views and the home itself has everything you can possibly want. No expense was spared on the home setup...great beds, luxury kitchen etc. And Kate responded to every request and concern and even had the extra beds setup with bedding in advance of our arrival.

    Andrew2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kate was very responsive and helped with other area requests. Her home is lovely. The air is fresh and stars brilliant.

We are an elegant country farmhouse situated in tiny Balfron, about a 7 minute drive from Tatamagouche. We are an hour and fifteen minutes from the airport and an hour and a half from Halifax. You can rent by the room, (in which case you may be sharing the bathroom), or rent the entire upper level for a minimum of two nights, weekly or monthly. I travel a lot, speak reasonable French and Spanish, and enjoy meeting people from around the world.
Entire upper level: 2 Queen Bed rooms, 1 Single Bed room, Private Bathroom, large upstairs hall area with desk and access to downstairs public rooms We have air-conditioning, via heat pumps, downstairs and window fans in each of the upstairs rooms.
This is a rural area, although we do have neighbours, including Meadow Brook Farm, about a 5 min. walk, which has a small shop. You can walk on the farm or drive to amenities, beaches, restaurants, the Lavender Farm, Jost Vineyards, Sugar Moon Farm and Maple Museum etc. within 15 - 30 minutes. In a little over an hour you can be at the UNESCO Joggins Fossil Cliffs or at a lookout point to see the highest tides in the world on the Bay of Fundy. And we can provide lots of suggestions for activities in the area, just ask!

It is a pristine, natural setting on a half mile of private beach, on the Northumberland shore. The chalets are near the Town of Tatamagouche on the Northumberland Strait coastline, but tucked away. Tatamagouche has waterfront walking trails, parks for walks and bike rides. Hiking, mountain biking, and more are on the Trans Canada and Cobequid Mountain trail systems. Two beach parks are close by. Northumberland Strait is famous for the warmest waters north of the Carolinas.

  • We we're there in a offseason time. But let me tell you, the view and the cabin was perfect! The place was very welcoming. Well kept and very clean and organized. The environment was very quiet, the folks around we're very nice. I have nothing more to say than everything was there for a romantic getaway. Again thank you so much and hospitality. We will recommend and most and likely come back again for sure :) Highly recommended for a romantic getaway for Cabin #3. For very quiet people who wants a break from noise. Not a place for partying. This 110 year-old farmhouse is located just 2kms from the picturesque community of Tatamagouche along the Waugh's River. A short drive to warm Northumberland beaches, stunning waterfalls, restaurants, the Tatamagouche Brewery, and the Jost Winery.
Although the house is a work in progress, it is a cozy and comfortable space. The newly renovated bedroom has a queen bed and mini fridge. Located next to the bedroom is a newly constructed private bathroom. Christopher is an amazing breakfast cook and can accommodate almost any diet. Eggs and fresh veggies are grown and harvested from our property. $95 per night, breakfast for two included.
Fresh air and a star filled sky.
  • Amanda and Christopher provided a clean comfortable room, enormous bathroom (I considered sleeping in the tub it looked so comfortable and inviting), interesting and fun conversation, and a delicious breakfast. I recommend to all.

    Alejandro2015-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Amanda's and Christopher's! The room was nice and clean and equipped with a fridge. The bathroom is just astonishing. They must have put so much effort and love into their house. Their daughter is just cute as button, we enjoyed meeting the family and had a nice chat with them as well.

  • We messaged Amanda on the day of our arrival & we were greeted that night. The house was really nice, the bathroom was amazing. Christopher made us a great breakfast & their little daughter was delightful. It's awesome to stay with people who open your eyes to healthy lifestyles! Would definitely recommend staying with Amanda & Christopher if you're in Tatamagouche.

  • Amanda and Chris were very welcoming, their cute little daughter Vela even danced for us :))) The room was spacious, bed comfortable, the bathroom - AMAZING, the breakfast was really great and healthy! The whole house has a very distinct and gorgeous antique-yet-modern style which I absolutely loved (being a designer). Would definitely recommended this place!

  • Most enjoyed our visit and meeting the family. Accommodations in this old farmhouse were comfortable and unique. The 'back to nature' lifestyle the family embraces was refreshing and inspiring. Breakfast was fantastic...nice job in the kitchen Chris! The 2 children Vela and Eva were a treat to be around.

    Brian2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience with Airbnb so we didn't know what to expect at all. It turned out to be such a lovely experience! We were welcomed into Amanda and Christopher's home and it was so wonderful of them to share their space with us. Their two little girls are adorable and we made the best of friends with their dog and cats! Amanda made frittatas for breakfast, which isn't something Chris and I had had before and it was delicious! I ended up trying them out myself once we got home! Thank you for making our 1st wedding anniversary one to remember. :)

  • Amber was very good with communication and arrangements before I got to her house as well as during my stay. The room is very comfortable (bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, tv, closet) and seperate from the rest of the house which allows for privacy if wanted, although Amber and her family are very friendly at the same time. Amber had great suggestions for places to see and restaurants. I would gladly recommend this stay to anyone travelling in the area.

  • Amber and her family are very nice people, she has two adorable kids and a friendly dog. We stayed there for two nights but we wished it was more! Communication was great, we arrived later than expect and she received us without any problem. The place is great, everything is new, clean and nicely decorated! The room is private and spacious, with a tv, coffee machine, microwave and a small fridge. Amber was very kind and left some fruits and yogurt for us there. The attached bathroom had fluffy towels and a very good shower. Definitely one of the best airbnbs we've ever stayed, Amber is a superhost!

    Laurie2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot for two. There is a foldout couch but it would be tight for additional adults. The washroom is self contained but it flows off the bedroom. The host has made a real effort to make this a warm and cozy space. Everything you might need is there. It's a great sport from which to tour Tatamagouche and the surrounding area. Cara plans to add additional services (laundry & TV) in the near future so extended stays will be even more enjoyable. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

    Margaret2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • When we booked the cottage we thought it would be a nice place to stay, it turned out to be even better than expected! We were a party of two and had the perfect amount of space and privacy. Everything was clean and instructions for how to get there and get checked in were very clear. Cara was a fantastic host and gave a number of helpful suggestions to add to our weekend getaway! • Wow! What can I say about this place? If you want an incredible experience and not just a place to catch 40 winks then this is for you! First, from the beginning, Mary communicated with us before our trip and then, she was warm, welcoming and kind. She greeted my daughter and I and showed us her beautiful property, cafe and to our rooms which were immaculate. The pillows were far better than mine at home as were her breakfasts. Mary gave us tips about the area and encouraged us to eat dinner at the Train Station Inn (great suggestion). In the morning, we had an incredible breakfast and Mary offers a full breakfast and is willing to work "off" menu, too. The second evening we stayed, we went to a restaurant which, unfortunately, was less than mediocre. Mary brought us fresh organic carrots, humus and guacamole to cleanse our palate and feed my daughter who had hardly touched her meal. How nice! Mary provides organic food, and bird friendly coffee. Her meadow garden is beautiful and she is passionate about the environment. Her cafe has games to play. Supportive of her community, it is clear that Mary has a passion for meeting visitors. Highly, highly recommended.

    Sara2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The hostess was amazing, beyond words. Her place was like visiting a "very young" grandma, where she had homemade food and quilts and a welcoming personality. It was a great value and we highly recommend. It is central to everything Tatamagouche.

  • Mary is an excellent communicator and extremely welcoming. The breakfast were incredibly yummy and Mary was always accommodating to my particular diet (gluten free, vegetarian). My best meals were at the BnB. The atmosphere is so well cared for, everything from the adorable quilts and antique furnishings, to the home grown veggies and bird friendly coffee. The fact that this establishment is so environmental conscious made me appreciate my stay even more.

  • This is a fairly new listing and we're glad we found it! It was perfect for our Oktoberfest visit, close to everything. It is super clean and Mary had thought of everything you need, and gave us great suggestions. We slept well and had our choice of 3 different rooms. We would highly recommend it to others, especially suitable for large groups or families because there are 3 rooms available. A wonderful hearty and healthy breakfast was included, and Mary is an excellent cook! We look forward to staying again the next time we visit Tatamagouche.

  • Thank you so much Mary for a wonderful This 3 bedroom unit was great. We stayed 2 nights. Extremely good value for the cost. Centrally located. Exceptionally clean. Yummy full breakfast with several choices. Hope to return some time again and check out this lovely little town further. Wished we had time to do a buggy tide - which if included in the package. Would highly reccomend this location.

  • I had a wonderful, relaxing long weekend at Lisa's. She's a friendly and welcoming host. The house is gorgeous, and looks like something out of a magazine. It's very clean and comfortable. Lisa offers a lot of privacy, but is also readily available. I really enjoyed chatting with her, and her dog is super cute too! The location is great for those who want to explore the Northumberland Strait beaches - some of the nicest beaches are within 15-20 minutes drive. It's a short walk to a few restaurants and the brew pub. Thanks for your hospitality, Lisa!!

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. I had my own private upstairs suite, so beautifully decorated with great design touches and flair. The bed was super comfortable, the location is within walking distance of all the hot spots in Tatamagouche and Lisa is a gracious and thoughtful host. I could not have asked for more.

    Gail 2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's place is bright and clean. This was my first AirBnB with my kibble eater and Lisa is a very understanding and accommodating dog parent.

  • Lisa's house was one that seemed straight out of a magazine! She really put her interior design skills to use with her house, it was really cozy and comfortable. Lisa was a fantastic host. She had everything arranged for my check in and was very easy to communicate with. I had the most wonderful chats with her over tea. I would highly recommend stopping here for the house, Lisa's company and Tatamagouche! The house is right on Main Street and is close to everything.

  • It's a fantastic place to stay. The house is beautiful and there is a porch and a lovely garden to relax in. Everything in Tatamagouche is within walking distance from the house. Lisa is an amazing host. She is kind, friendly and easy to talk to. Definitely recommend it!

  • I loved my stay - the room was lovely and comfortable and I loved the decor. Great hot water. The nearby small town was easily walkable and the house was central to my travels. Lisa is a great host - highly recommended.

  • You can't find a better deal if you plan to explore the Northumberland area of Nova Scotia. We could walk to everything including several restaurants, a brew pub, convenience store and nice cafe plus easy access to the rail trail. Tatamagouche is perfectly situated to explore the area by car. Lisa's place is spacious compared to your average hotel/motel room. It is tastefully decorated. Lisa provides dishes, cutlery, microwave, bar fridge, coffee maker (with coffee, tea & milk provided & toaster so you can save some money by eating some of your meals in your place. Lisa was busy studying for exams so did not get to interact with her. But she greeted us when we arrived and was available by telephone if we needed her. I would definitely stay at Lisa's place again. One caveat, if you are tall like me 6'2", the double bed is a little short and may feel cramped if you are used to sleeping in a queen or king bed. Otherwise, a perfectly comfortable place to stay.

    David2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's place was beautifully decorated in an older house that has been updated with the best of everything. It was located centrally on Main Street just a short walk from the little shops and restaurants downtown. This is the closest place to stay on the Transcanada Trail. Great location for cycling through the short line from Oxford to Pictou, NS. I found that it was a very private part of the house and relaxing after some long days of cycling. I would highly recommend this accommodation, Lisa was a great host and willing to help out with whatever was needed, very quiet, hardly knew she was even there. Highly recommended.

  • My wife and I spent 11 great days at Jody,s and Gary,s cottage. The cottage provided us with everything we needed and more. We were comfortable our first few hours of arrival. A short walk down the road we were on the shore which allowed us to take long walks. The people in the area couldn't of been more accommodating and friendly. Jody and and Gary were wonderful hosts, carrying and attentive.

For more than a century our home has watched over Tatamagouche Bay - it has witnessed everything from the launching of sailing ships, to the activities of a busy Creamery to the annual migration of Canada geese. Conveniently located on the corner of Creamery Rd and Main Street, our home is an excellent 'home base' for exploring the North Shore, a weekend away or a business trip that brings you to our area.

Historic Tata House is over 100 years old and the original dentist's house in Tatamagouche. Classic architecture with all kinds of nooks and crannies to explore but beautifully redone. Four bedrooms with enough space for the whole family or group of friends. Large corner lot with a big yard and plenty of space for children and pets. Minutes walk to the Tatamagouche Brewery, TransCanada Trail and the Atlantic Ocean. Plenty of parking and flexible check in options to make your stay stress free.
Historic property with all the charm.
  • Everything was great! Robert was very accessible with questions and concerns. The house was clean and roomy. The only point worth mentioning is that there is no bathroom on the main floor and the laundry is in the basement. If anyone in your group has a problem with stairs or you have a child who's not completely potty trained it could be an issue but it's not a problem with the house, just something to be aware of. Overall, he was an excellent host.
