  • The perfect place to getaway and reconnect! Loved every detail and thoughtful touches. Thank you!

    Natalie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loved spending hours in this private, peaceful cabin tending the fire pit and wading in the pool. Will definitely return.

    Kate2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb property is very desirable and has excellent amenities. Just know that if you are specifically looking for an outdoor 'hot tub' that goes above 95 degrees, this is not the listing that you want. That said, the heated outdoor pool is fantastic and there is a huge bathtub in the house. Amazing fireplace in the house and outdoor fire pit. Definitely worth the price.

    Solomon2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing hosts, super responsive and the place was freaking immaculate. I was so happy we brought groceries with us to cook and for homemade snacks. It allowed us to really enjoy the space and feel at home. They had a great spice right and just about everything I needed to make my meals. The space was well designed, smart and quiet. The instructions left were clear, and check in super easy. We are definitely coming back and recommend anyone to stay there. You won’t regret it. Thank you again Heath for an amazing stay. Job well done!

    Izetta2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Heath's cabin in the woods met all of our expectations. We loved lounging by the pool and soaking in the massive egg shaped bathtub. Do keep in mind that the solarium is quite a distance from the main unit and requires hiking through the woods to get to. We were so grateful that we only had four persons in our party, as this house is certainly not suitable for more than four guests. Thanks again, Heath!

    Jordan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Heaths place is as described. Beautiful, serene, calm, lovely really. We relaxed a lot. Cooked a lot, and spent much time trying to figure out the technology of the home - luckily Heath had a pretty decent lay of the land for us. The location was good, but definitely be prepared for 15-20 minute drives anywhere substantial. This is no an “Uber” place. There is no “running up the street for a coffee” - it’s all that’s you’d expect an epic escape to be. The pool was amazing, bed was comfortable, don’t just look at the amenities - pack groceries some beer and enjoy all that the property is. Side note - Amsterdam for breakfast is a MUST - take a ride for lunch to the Culinary Institute of America and see some history on the way...and if you’re a yoga person - Cleo at Rainbow Yoga runs a phenomenal class - we took our first ever aerial class and LOVED it. Enjoy! Cheers!

  • Maitopia is a warm haven. The property is minimal and stylish and every space is purposeful. Kitchen is fully stocked with all cooking/ baking tools necessary. The cabin, solarium, and pool were sparkling clean. Heath is responsive and has done a great job curating an incredible place for a fun, mellow time

A bright, serene space with reclaimed fixtures and hidden nooks throughout, the barn is surrounded by wildlife-filled fields. We are easy drives to quaint towns, hikes and art in all directions. Please read the entire description & rules before booking. Our base rate is for 2. A game room in the lower level will be available 5/1 (ping pong, fussball and more!). The barn is perfect for work stays as well. 28+day stays currently desired but will consider weekly stays. Hope to hear from you!
Full of light and divisions created by old window sashes, the space holds an open feeling while still harboring hidden nooks for curling up with a good book. The big windows face an upward sloping meadow, a veritable bird sanctuary much of the year. The interior is serene with a cozy fireplace for winter. The space encourages both reflection and community. Note on number of guests: We state 6 as a maximum. This has worked for families with children or tight knit groups of friends & relatives. Less tight knit groups should study the space carefully and understand the barn has only two bedrooms, and the upper bedroom interacts somewhat freely with entire upstairs space. We encourage those seeking to accommodate 7 or 8 to see if the farmhouse suite is available (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2822915). Feel free to ask us more questions about the space! • Please also note that a suite in our house (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2822915) may be rented out at the same time but is sited away from the barn maintaining privacy for all. • SAME DAY BOOKINGS: Please contact us first to make sure we can have the space available on time. • WEEKENDS: If booking on a weekend, please book both Friday and Saturday - thanks! • We charge 10$/night/per dog - welcoming dogs who are well-behaved and taken care of. Please let us know in advance of booking about dog(s) that they are well behaved, a short description, and please also note additional requirements for dogs in the house rules. Thanks!
The barn & home is in bucolic Columbia County, in the Hudson River Valley where there's a unparalleled foodie culture. The breathtaking views of Stissing Mountain are 7 minutes away, as is Thompson Pond. 7 or 8 hip/quaint little towns can be reached in 5 to 25 minutes.
  • This is a fantastic spot in the Hudson Valley. It is a beautiful, rustic converted barn with a great country feel, a fireplace, and a large property to explore. Open layout with comfortable bedrooms, and a great kitchen & dining area, ideal for cooking and serving the wonderful local produce available in the area. Molly & Gregg are kind and responsive hosts, very highly recommended.

    Sean2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Molly and Gregg’s home is a cozy oasis. We booked last minute, and Gregg was so accommodating. We arrived late at night and found the space lit and warm from a fire Gregg had made for us. The space itself is quite beautiful— there are a number of cozy nooks and thoughtful details, including fresh milk and eggs in the fridge. We hope to be back soon. Thank you for an incredible stay!

    Charlotte2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible hosts. The place is beautiful. Would definitely come again!

    Julio2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an fantastic stay! The Barn was everything we expected and more. Great communication before during and after our stay with Gregg & Molly, checking in and out was easy and they offered a lot of info into the surrounding area. The Barn was spotless and looked even better then the photos. We loved our stay will are already planning our next trip back up!

    Lauren2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful spot! Perfect for a weekend getaway

    Kendall2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Molly and Gregg were lovely and so was there home. Great area and space, easy communication, and lots of great recs for activities nearby. Would definitely recommend!

    Cally2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful space and a peaceful property. Gregg greeted us when we arrived, introduced us to his gorgeous home and was super helpful with fun recommendations for adventures & restaurants in the area. This barn is truly special - we enjoyed a super cozy, relaxing stay. I would return in a heartbeat.

    Keenan2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Molly & Gregg's barn is the most magical place you've ever visited. It is totally unique and you'll have to drag yourself out of it to explore, it feels too beautiful and cozy to leave! The space is quite open, so you need to be sure you're ok without huge privacy from whoever you are traveling with, but for us it was perfect. The barn is right next to Molly & Gregg's house but feels totally isolated, with most of the windows facing a beautiful meadow and trees away from their house. This place is unreal, the details are gorgeous, thoughtful and unique. It's not an ikea setup, its definitely an artists creation. We can't wait to visit again. Don't hesitate to stay here!

This 1968 a-frame cabin, situated on 6 acres of untouched land, is perfect for anyone seeking a serene escape to the Hudson Valley. Floor-to-ceiling windows grant an idyllic view of the lush outdoors, all from the comfort of a meticulously furnished mid-century gem. The home reflects the owner's (Brooklyn-based designers) love for art and design, being filled with vintage Danish furniture and one-off pieces from their travels around the world. Cozy up by the fire in the winter, and enjoy the outdoors in the summer, all within minutes of Rhinebeck & other great attractions. @hudsonvalleyaframe
Our Hudson Valley home is our getaway from the rush of big-city life in Brooklyn - and we've set it up to be an amazing place to relax, decompress and have fun. Here are some details about the home, property, and things to do while staying: The 6-acre property: When we were looking at properties, I initially wanted a farmhouse in the middle of a large field. The idea of the woods made me nervous as a city dweller, but my mind changed the instant I saw this house and the land that surrounds it. Immediately around the house, there is a large lawn with lawn chairs and a fire ring. It’s big enough for games like frisbee or bocce or running around with kids. Just beyond that there is an additional 5+ acres or untouched but sparse forest land. The trees are quite tall but only have a canopy at the top, so it feels like an open, quiet, and beautiful yard, not a dark, dense, creepy forest. The land is flat and easy to walk – something we highly recommend. You’ll definitely see a variety of birds, squirrels, and chipmunks, and occasionally deer and wild turkeys will traipse through. The home itself: The kitchen is recently renovated with all new stainless steel appliances and comes stocked with all of the pots, pans and cooking utensils you’ll need to make a nice meal. It’s large, thoughtfully designed, and super functional. We love to cook and know the value of a great kitchen. It also has a breakfast table set for two and just off the kitchen there is a covered deck perfect for drinking a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper. Next to the kitchen is the den flanked on two sides by large windows, furnished with an extremely comfortable couch, desk for working, and a TV and DVD player for relaxing. We wind up here at the end of every night, working our way through the entire 007 catalog. The den leads into the living room, which we consider the show piece of the house and one of the main reasons we purchased it. The floor-to-ceiling windows that flank the A-frame roof are stunning, letting in a ton of light and allowing you to see all of the nature that brought you to the Hudson Valley. The room is large and open, housing our handmade (by my husband) walnut dining table set for 6, wood-burning stove, couches, and stereo. It’s set up as an amazing place to play a board game, read a book, have a glass of wine with friends, or stare out into nature. It’s our favorite room in the house and we’re sure it will be yours as well. In the middle of the wall of windows, you’ll find a sliding glass door that opens out onto the largest deck of the house furnished with a large wooden table and benches and a brand-new gas grill for memorable summer meals. Off the living room you’ll find the bedroom with en suite bathroom. There is a comfortable full-sized bed with brand new feather comforter, pillows and sheets. The room has a linen closet that houses all of the backup sheets and towels as well as a blow-up mattress that can easily be set up in the den, as well as a large closet stocked with plenty of hangers. This room is painted a beautiful deep blue and houses an amazing mid-century chandelier that we brought back from our travels to Portugal. The room has a large window as well as a sliding glass door that takes you out to a small deck and the outside. It’s super peaceful especially because it faces west so it doesn’t get a ton of direct sunlight to wake you up in the morning. The en suite bathroom is split by the hallway with a toilet and sink on one side and tub and shower on the other, which makes it easy for someone to shower while another gets ready. Heading upstairs, you’ll find the classic A-frame loft, which we have transformed into a large open bedroom. This room is equipped with a large queen-sized platform bed centered in front of a wall of windows, and flanked by side tables with two mid-century globe lights (also brought back from our Portugal trips). There is a small desk in case you need to fire off some emails, as well as a luggage rack, and an authentic Morris chair. Across from the bed you’ll find a well-apportioned half bath with pocket door, toilet, large mirrored medicine cabinet, and marble countertop. Around the corner you’ll find a large bookcase stocked with books, magazines and a DVD collection as well as a full drum set (my husband’s). Back downstairs next to the front door, there is another full bath, that is currently being renovated, so it’s not available yet but will be completed soon. Continuing down another set of stairs, you’ll find a small laundry room stocked with soap, bleach, stain stick and dryer sheets for your laundry needs.
Located in the town of Milan, and a short drive from the village of Red Hook and Rhinebeck. The area is immersed in nature and countryside, surrounded by working farms where you can pick apples, pumpkins, blueberries, cherries, and plums, depending on the time of year. As an AirBnb Plus property, our listing is only able to show photos taken by the Airbnb staff, so there are not many photos of the outdoors, or surrounding areas. Please visit our instagram account for more! @hudsonvalleyaframe
  • A beautiful, classic mid century a-frame on a lot of gorgeous land. Super relaxing and very comfortable. The beds and bedding were great. Loved the CO Bigelow products in the bathrooms. Probably wise to bring eye masks since the morning sunlight floods both bedrooms.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Brenna's house. The house is beautifully designed, furnished with lots of love and everything you need is there. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful living room by the fireplace or are outside behind the veranda in the forest / garden. We really enjoyed the time. The next town is about 15 minutes by car (Red Hook), where you can get everything you need. Red Hook and Rhinebeck (small, sweet colonial-style place, we really liked it) have some nice restaurants / cafes and Brenna provided us with great tips. Communication with Brenna went really well. We would definitely go back.

    Eva-Maria2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great escape from New York City! Brenna's house is beautiful, comfortable, clean and relaxing. We had everything we needed, and especially loved the fireplace and record player (with endless Beatles albums!). We felt right at home! Communication was timely and comprehensive. The house is about 15 mins away from Rhinebeck, with plenty of great restaurants, shops and the Mirbeau Spa. I highly recommend this house for a peaceful weekend getaway!

    Maya2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely and a great landing pad for checking out nearby towns of Rhinebeck, Red Hook and Tivoli. Wish we had had better weather for our winter stay (it rained a good bit) but we managed to make s’mores with our kids in the fire pit, loved cozying up by the wood burning stove and our final morning woke up to sparkling sunlight coming through the surrounding woods! Wish we’d had another day to explore!

    Courtade2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was genuinely beautiful and fun to live in

    Tim2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brenna’s place was a perfect secluded getaway away from the hustle and bustle of the city area. It was the perfect recipe for a amazing Valentine’s Day for me and my girlfriend. Check in was super simple. We stayed in, got the wood burning stove going, and cooked some delicious home made food in the spacious and perfectly styled kitchen. The decor was lovely and suited the place perfectly. It made for a very special weekend! Btw the drum set was the icing on The cake! Thanks so much Brenna and I hope to stay again in the future! Cheers!

    Scott2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Brenna’s place upstate. It was a lovely weekend spent out of the city. You can tell right away that this house was styled with love, and there was thought put into every detail to make guests feel comfortable. We appreciated all of the amenities available to us especially in the kitchen with everything you need to make a nice meal. The highlights for us was having the 6 acres of land to roam around, and enjoy nature, peace and quiet. And we loved the wood burning stove! It was so cozy and relaxing to hang out in the main room, listen to music, and enjoy the cool vibe of this house. Already planning to go back!

    Kimberly2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a team building activity. All of us loved our stay here. The place is smart yet cozy and comfortable and, of course, clean. Great location as well. The space outdoor was beautiful even in the winter. The instruction book was very thorough and super helpful and communication with the Daniel prior to our stay was so friendly and seamless. Our stay was very relaxing. Will definitely be back!

Our home is designed to be open with large windows and glass doors overlooking the woods. Feel like you are outside while being in the comfort of a newly renovated and tastefully decorated home. The hot tub on the deck can be enjoyed year round!
We bought and completely renovated this house a few years ago so that we could enjoy weekends in the country. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! We’ve done it up with designer furniture and great details. The hot tub provides for great outdoor enjoyment year round, as does a very private camp fire location in the woods. Enjoy dinner or a bottle of wine on the spacious deck during spring, summer, and fall. The house is on 4 wooded acres at the end of a dirt road. Stay in for quiet seclusion. Or... enjoy the great restaurants, antiquing, and outdoor activities in the area.
The house is on a private dirt road with only a few other houses on it. There are no neighbors visible from the house, but a few near enough to feel safe. The wooded views from the house are beautiful year round! The area is full of towns with incredible restaurants, shops, history, beautiful scenery, and outdoor activities! Please send us an inquiry for a list of specific restaurants and activities that we recommend.
  • Beautiful idyllic hideaway that exceeded all expectations. The house is thoughtfully and stylishly decorated, perfectly laid out, and so cozy we never wanted to leave! Heated tile floors in the main bathroom were a true paragon of luxury. This is the country house we wish we owned, and look forward to returning to someday soon!

    Jennifer2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie's house looks out into the woods from a perch on a small hill. The kitchen was well stocked and there is ample space on the large dining room table. Having two baths was great! The hot tub on the deck was a nice way to unwind. Would stay again.

    Claudia2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie's place was great! It's such a perfect and easy getaway from the city, and the check-in process was easy! It's so peaceful and had such beautiful surroundings for those craving nature instead of a concrete jungle. Layout of the home is perfect and very group friendly. She responded so quickly so any questions I had and is so friendly. Definitely recommend.

  • This was our second time here, we enjoyed it so much the first time around. The house is such a cozy spot with beautiful / hip touches throughout and everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's especially amazing sitting in the hot tub on a snowy winter day, and warming your toes on the heated floors. We can't wait to come back and enjoy the huge porch and BBQ a summer weekend!

  • The place was great. Accurate to the pictures. Very cozy spot.

  • This is our second stay at Jackie’s over New Year’s and it once again was incredible. A gorgeous house with great small touches, a well-stocked kitchen, and an ideal rural setting in the woods. Highly recommend!

  • Susan’s place was perfect for our three person weekend. Clean and comfortable, close to great restaurants in Rhinebeck and the tours we had lined up.

    Christine2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place is quaint and cozy. Just a short walk into the town of Rhinebeck it’s a great place to stay when looking for a weekend away but with more comfort than the usual hotel room.

    Natasha2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed in this very special place in the woods. It is warm and cozy and well supplied with extra touches. I have added it to my list of places to return!

  • Such a great place to stay, great location for the sheep and wool festival. I can’t believe my luck in finding this place!

  • The Serenity House, in Rhinebeck NY, was very nice. Very clean and spacious. It was close to town and the owner stocked the frig with lots of goodies. I would definitely recommend this Air B&B!

  • Lovely setting. Large apartment with very comfortable furnishings. Fresh flowers were a nice touch as were the food and beverages provided.

    Sally2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We struck gold when we decided to stay the night in Rhinebeck on our way back from Quebec City to Alexandria, VA. Susan and her husband, Bill, were greats hosts and their roomy apartment was spotless and well-provisioned with coffee, juices, yogurt, muffins, cereals, etc. The apartment is attached to their home with a separate entrance. Susan stayed in constant touch with us and gave us a great list of restaurants in The center of town a few minutes away. We could not have been happier and would recommend this apartment without hesitation.

    Pete2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's Airbnb is perfectly located, just a short distance outside charming Rhinebeck, New York, itself the most charming village in the region--with wonderful stores and restaurants, as well as the unique Upstate Films. The quarters are private (with lovely views of the woods), very spacious, well-designed, attractively decorated and furnished, and fully equipped. I could not have been more pleased with my stay at this Airbnb rental.

  • Can’t say enough great things about Sarah and her place! Highly recommend!!

    Christopher2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much, we had an excellent time. Great property and an even better host!

    David2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our second year in a row staying at Sarah's - it's always lovely! Clean, perfect location, awesome hot tub and total privacy.

    William2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is amazing, we drive 4-5 hours every year and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. We love the animals too!

    William2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, wonderful people. The host had coffee, towel warmers, a fireplace, hot tub, local suggestions, and was amazingly friendly and nice. The best stay I've ever had. Beautiful.

    Daniel2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place is amazing! Love using the hot tub on the deck in the cold. There are so many thoughtful touches from the slippers to the towel warmer. A great place to stay for a weekend in Rhinebeck. Don’t hesitate just book.

    Daniela2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Sarah was booked two days before our arrival. From the start, Sarah greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the room and showed us where all of the amenities are. Sarah got back to us very quickly when we had any questions and also helped greatly with outside accommodations. Using the hot tub during the night was absolutely amazing, with the lights off you can see all of the stars in the sky. There are plenty of indoor activities to do in the surrounding areas like bowling, pool, an arcade, etc. If you were to visit, I highly recommend Ferncliff Forest. It has a sketchy tower you can climb for a beautiful view of the entire Rhinebeck area.

    Henry2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was a very warm/kind hostess and the room was very cozy...including Netflix and movies for our veg day! The fireplace apparently gets too hot to really use in the small space but it was nice to look at/have. The hot tub was great in the cold weather! Great coffee for the am.

This is a private suite, with your own entrance to come and go as you please. The suite, in a 219 yr old eyebrow colonial, consists of one large living room with small kitchenette, decorated with mid-century modern furniture and an old farmhouse table & chairs. A separate bedroom offers a quiet night's sleep, while the full bath is highlighted with a hot steam shower option.
White walls, lots of light, original art, books galore and internet access. What more do you need? Oh, yes, a fridge and a coffeemaker.
There is a unique creative, bespoke, and food culture growing exponentially in the valley. We are within minutes to much of it. In the outdoors: 7 minutes to Stissing Mountain hike and it’s breathtaking views, 7 to the serene walk around The Nature Conservancy’s Thompson Pond, 12 to the Audubon’s Buttercup Farm Sanctuary, and 22 to Bash Bish Falls, the highest single-drop waterfall in MA. There you can also find fantastic quarry swimming and a sweet kid's swim area cut out of the outflowing stream. Closer to us, swim at the beautiful beach at Stissing Lake with the mountain backdrop. Swimming holes can also be found in the Roeliff Jansen Kille, minutes from us. Kayak and row boat rental can be had at Lake Taghkanic State Park. And don’t forget berry picking! Thompson Finch in Ancram and Grieg Farms in Red Hook are two great choices. Great farmer's markets are in every town: Rhinebeck's on Sunday and Copake-Hillsdale's on Saturday are recommended. In Pine Plains, you won’t find a more cozy old inn with good food than at the Stissing House. Another Fork in the Road in Milan is quieter but always amazing. We are 15 minutes to Red Hook with terrific dining at Mercato or Modern Taco. Hudson (22 minutes from us) is overflowing with gastronomic surprises, antiques, and eclectic shops, while Rhinebeck (17 minutes) has superb options itself. Gaskins in Germantown and The Corner in Tivoli are also highly recommended. Millerton (20min), Millbrook (25min), Salisbury, CT (27min), and Chatham, NY (30min) are also charming and within reach. Good to great coffee shops exist in all the small towns including the Pine Plains Platter, Murray’s or Tivoli Bakery in Tivoli, Cafe La Perche in Hudson, The Farmer’s Wife in Ancramdale, Red Devon in Stanfordville, and Irving Farm in Millerton. World class art can be found at the Hessel Museum at Bard College, Art OMI’s outdoor sculpture park, and the Wassaic Project in Wassaic (always something interesting happening). Basilica, Time & Space Ltd, and the Hudson Opera House in Hudson also always have interesting happenings. If staying longer, Mass MOCA in North Adams, MA (1:15min away) is our favorite day trip and may want to be considered. Regular and alternative movie theaters exist in Rhinebeck, Hudson, Red Hook and Millerton. Historical sites include the FDR Library, Eleanor Roosevelt’s Val-Kill, Frederick Church’s Olana in Hudson, Thomas Cole House in Catskill, Livingston’s Clermont Manor, Montgomery Place in Red Hook, Mills Mansion in Staatsburg, and the Vanderbilt House in Hyde Park. In Winter you can ski at Catamount (35min) or Buttnernut in Great Barrington (50min). Cross country at Copake Country Club (reportedly has groomed trails and rentals available) or Art OMI, Olana and Clermont Mansion, also reportedly having trails. Sledding at Burger Hill is also a big hit with the kids. Columbia County Tourism, Rural Intelligence and Chronogram also have great online resources for ideas. Any other specific questions, please ask! The guidebook at our other listing has even more of our favorites: https://www.airbnb.com/things-to-do/rooms/8425020
  • My stay was amazing, thank you Molly & Gregg!

    Nick2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you like vintage furniture, an abundance of books to read, and cozy quiet time, Molly and Gregg's is the place to be. The property is beautiful and within roughly 20 minutes of Red Hook and Rhinebeck- two cute small towns with a lot of history and good eating spots. The property is also 40 minutes from Kingston, NY which has a beautiful historic district with Revolutionary War-era buildings. If you are looking for a quiet weekend away, Molly and Gregg's is the ideal place! I personally didn't want to leave.

    Zachary2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Molly and Gregg’s home is a fantastic get away! Nicely decorated, great artwork, a fun collection of books and very comfortable. We had a great time. And Gregg was a very warm and helpful host. We would highly recommend!

    Abigail2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is as beautiful as the photos and sparkling clean. We absolutely loved the tranquility of the space and found the location to be perfect for traveling to various little towns. We could have sat and read for hours. Truly a dream for any writer or creative who needs to unplug. Can’t wait to go back.

    Amber2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • An introvert’s paradise. This little home is so inviting and cozy; we got snowed in our first day here and it was wonderful, plenty of books to read and the apartment itself is so interesting. Even though it’s attached to the host’s home it feels private and pretty quiet. It was close enough to surrounding towns and the hosts had lots of great suggestions. Little details like organic tea, a steam shower, and the hosts attentiveness to clear out the snow made our stay so relaxing. What’re you waiting for? Book this place!

    Melissa2020-01-20T00:00:00Z

You’ll love our place because it is a cozy, private one bedroom apartment with a full galley kitchen, dining area, full bathroom and private entrance. Experience life within the village of Rhinebeck.
The one bedroom apartment is newly renovated with its own private entrance. The apartment is on the 2nd floor. The owners, Frank and Mette, live on the main floor of the house. We are more than happy to welcome and accommodate our guests with all of their comfort needs.
Our place is only a 5 minute walk to the center of Rhinebeck, with top notch restaurants, cafes, quaint shops, walking tours, and an outdoor public recreation center for hiking and sports, including swimming and tennis. The town also has a renowned Independent Film Theater. Other sites within 10 to 30 minutes by car include public golf courses, hikes along the Hudson River with spectacular views, a climbing tower at Ferncliff Forest, a Poet's Walk in Annandale, The Rhinebeck Aerodrome, tours of the FDR Estate and the Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill and much more. A one hour drive can take you to ski areas in the Catskills.

Unique experience ! Clean/Sanitize and secluded. Enjoy a weekend or a few days eco-friendly retreat in an architectural, geometric masterpiece on 30 preserved acres just minutes from all that Rhinebeck and the Hudson Valley have to offer. The house is an open plan, and though it has zero bedrooms, it can sleep four!
At the entry porch, an orb of wood carved out of the house will welcome you into a play of geometry. Situated around one main volume and open to the second level, the kitchen is placed in the center. There is a futon queen bed, 1 sleeper futon sofa, one single futon bed. Instead of fossil fuel, the house is heated and cooled geothermally. Instead of grid power, the house has electricity from the sun. We are sensitive to the environment and respect its ecological balance. The wood stove is highly efficient and keep the space warm in the Hudson Valley winter. Guest have access to a large supply of wood stacked outside the house. (Tip about the stove : Build the fire like a tipi and add wood in a vertical position to make sure the fire will be strong and well maintain) There is no central AC in the house, it is design to allow the air to flow when all the doors and windows are open, in addition the floor heat is connected to be cooling in the summer. Outside of the kitchen there is a dinning table with 4 chairs and a Charcoal BBQ (we do not provide charcoal or starter ). We do not accept Pets of any kind, guest bringing pets will be charge an extra 200$ cleaning fee.
Just 2 hours from NYC, minutes from Rhinebeck and Omega institute. 45 mn from Ski resorts like Hunter Mountain, Windam and Catamount. A car is highly recommended.
  • The space makes you feel things

  • This is a gorgeous property and it was such a pleasure to spend a winter weekend here. The host provided detailed instructions for check-in and check-out, which made the logistics a breeze. The house was so serene and comfortable, with beautiful views of the outdoors at every turn. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to prepare meal during our weekend away. Even better than I expected!

  • Great place, cozy and design, a haven of peace

    Olivier2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful unique home in a scenic wooded setting! The sculpture path from the house through the woods is wonderful and was a nice surprise.

    Frank2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely stunning. The appliances were new and easy to use. Our only thing was that we felt a bit scared at night (city people problems) because it's pitch dark outside and there were only 2 blinds upstairs, and no blinds covering the window right next to the main bed. We're sure it was super safe and all but mentally we just felt a little unsettled. Overall we still really enjoyed our stay - just had to get over our own fear of the dark.

Home very secluded and private, but two minutes to town with restaurants and shops. Wonderful library and always something to do for night entertainers. A very private and tranquil setting,. Lots of light and windows in your room overlooking rolling lawn waterfall and woods. Guest are welcome to use kitchen, grounds to relax, swim in swimming hole or hang by the campfire at night.
I live at the end of a dirt road in the woods, yet am within walking or biking distance of town, Hudson river and trails for hiking. Close to Bard, Rhinebeck fair grounds, Kaatsbahn, twenty minutes to Woodstock or Hudson for a day of antiquing or just hang by the creek and jump in!
  • This place is way more than what you can see in the pictures and read in the description. We were so glad and lucky to be here. The location is quite, full of nature, has wonderful animals and filled with amazing vibes. Annemieke is such a lovely host and an amazing person. The house will keep you close to woods, creeks, river and waterfall. The town is not far and there are some amazing restaurants within reach. All the animals are so friendly and welcoming. Would love to be back again.

    Mudit2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Annemieke is an amazing host! She went extra mile making us feel at home, whatever we asked for - she made it happen (even gave us a ride to a local bar that we wanted:). We loved a cozy house with a fireplace and very friendly dogs and a cat. We'll definitely be back!

    Olena2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had a memorable experience with Annemieke. The setting was more remote than I had expected, but once there, I realized that there was something indescribably genuine about the setting and the house. The overall atmosphere was intimate and relaxed, and the indoor animals (two dogs and a cat) were my instant BFFs. Annemieke herself is open, accommodating, and accepting. My bed was warm and comfortable, and the cool night air and calming water sounds coming in through my open bedroom windows lulled me into sleeping an incredible 11 hours! It's a special place and perhaps not right for those who are seeking hotel-like comforts. But for me it was perfect and I will gladly return.

    Marilyn2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay at this sweet, quiet place. I definitely recommend staying here!

    Eileen2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Annemieke house is just as advertised. And she is a warm, hospitable host with lots of great suggestions for activities and restaurants and yoga. Will most definitely stay here again.

    Evie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • What does it say that I rebooked within hours of heading to go home. I do not like sterile, hotel or motel environments. Annemeike's offering is singular. I missed my pets but the furry residents made me feel welcome. Everywhere there were creative interesting touches. Cozy and historic would define the ambience.

    Leslie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were only in the house in the evening, overnight into a short couple of hours in the morning due to family event but it was just like home! We were met with tea, great conversation, the smell of apple pie and sweet beagle Bolt in the evening as well as the lovely dollhouse set my daughter played with. In the morning, we went for a hike around the property, watched the chickens and enjoyed the hammock while my daughter played in the sandbox. Exactly what we needed!

    Anna Lisa2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Annemieke is a great host. She was full of compassion and kindness and we had a great breakfast time with her. The house, which is surrounded by a lot of nature, has been renovated from an old historic building and was able to relax comfortably. We want to stay here again!

Come and stay in our Tiny Home, on our tiny farm! Enjoy an incredible view of the Catskill mountains. Our land is connected to Tivoli Bays 1400 acre preserve. The entrance to the Bays hiking trails is 1/8 mile down the street. Our three lambs, three goats, hens and rabbits all contribute to a warm farm environment. Resting in the hammock under the willow is one way that guests unwind. We are 8 miles from Rhinebeck and one mile from Bard. Hate has no home here.

    Leela2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This bedroom with a wood stove — and a super comfy king size bed — is my new idea of heaven. So cozy. And the grounds were so much fun to explore with my daughter and dog. The hosts were lovely and I can’t wait to come back in the summer and try ice cream from the place they run in town!!

    Amanda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax and get some reading done, while listening to classical music of course.

    Andy2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa & Brians place was lovely and so were they. Super cosy cabin with everything we needed for a peaceful weekend update.

    Karsten2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa & Brian's place was wonderful and just what we were hoping for. It's very tastefully and thoughtfully arranged, and feels really cozy too. Lisa & Brian also provided some great tips on the area and were very responsive to us throughout. I'd definitely recommend this home!

    Jamie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Brian's home was so comfortable, cozy and quiet -- in a beautiful part of the state. We loved our time there over New Years and would recommend it to anyone. Lisa and Brian were very thoughtful and easy to communicate with. The fireplaces are amazing and the bed SO comfortable. Also, an easy place for a young child. We very much hope to be back!

    Rachel2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful and super cozy. It was exactly as pictured and situated in a secluded area on a very nice plot of land. Thanks so much for hosting us Brian and Lisa!

Hudson is also a driveable distance away and we can give directions and suggestions to some great places.
  • One of the most amazing spaces we’ve ever seen: a cross between a treehouse and a ship’s cabin, but more spacious and comfortable. We wish it had been warmer outside so we could have enjoyed the balcony, but we loved the kitchen and the comfortable bed.

    Amy2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We like this place so much, we keep going back!

    K.C.2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, just as described. Very responsive hosts. House is in a beautiful spot, very quiet and safe. I was staying to visit my daughter at Bard College and the home is very close to Bard. Would highly recommend.

    Kay2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check in, very warm hosts with a slightly stocked kitchen for visitors!

    Emily2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot, close to Bard College. The apartment is clean and comfortable and quirky in a wonderful way. Very peaceful space. I didn't meet Gerald & Sylvia because I got in late and left early, but they were attentive by message and the check in process could not have been easier. Easy parking, comfortable bed, highly functional little kitchen, well-stocked -- what more could you want? I'll certainly stay here again.

    Amy2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gerald and Silvia's space was so nice. Fit our needs great. Great communication and an added bonus of delicious milk. Very well outfitted.

    Dalis2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Gerald & Silvia's place is a cozy, funky little studio on an upper floor, entrance in the back. It's very clean and comfortable, with a friendly atmosphere. There's a little bit of noise from the nearby highway on that side, but very quiet at night. Lots of trees around. Very fast internet. Gerald and Silvia were helpful and concerned when we had a medical problem, which was much appreciated.

    Gregory2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Gerald and Silvia's place. It's a super warm and cozy space and feels really homey. Check-in was great, and all the amenities were fab.

Private, quiet, quaint, cute and clean guest cottage, located on my 5 acre corner parcel in a park-like setting, 5 minutes to Omega, 10 minutes to Rhinebeck, Red Hook, or the Taconic Parkway
Located in a quiet country setting just 7 miles outside of Rhinebeck and Red Hook, the guest cottage is set well off of the road and is a perfect location for visiting the Hudson Valley. 4 miles from Omega Institute. The kitchen is fully equipped. The cottage is handicap accessible and has its own parking space. There is a pond on the property with plenty of cooperative bass if you wish to fish (catch and release policy). The guest cottage is a large studio with the main living area approximately 18 ft by 18 ft with a galley kitchen and bathroom. My house is located on the property with a shared large driveway.
Very private setting, rural, quiet, and serene, can't see the neighbors' homes at all in the summer and only from afar in the winter, and yet just 10 minutes from town
  • I spent a wonderful winter week in Merri’s super cute “cabin in the woods.” Warm and cozy (potbellied stove helped enormously), fully stocked with kitchen utensils and dish ware, location central to everything I needed to do in the area. Would definitely stay here again, especially on other seasons!

    Liz2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a lovely, wooded retreat in the Hudson Valley. It was very peaceful and had everything you could need in a studio space. It is very close to the village and near to several farms and other attractions like Ferncliff Forest and even the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park. I highly recommend this space for an individual or couple looking for a nice respite with fully equipped kitchen and warming touches.

    Lauren2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding country cottage- immaculately clean-beautifully decorated-warm and welcoming host

    Carol2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, cozy guest house with charming touches.

    Chloe2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Merri’s cottage is nestled in the woods not too far off the main road, providing all seclusion and peace for a weekend away. Her and Carolyn’s communication is phenomenal and the Airbnb has more than you can ask with it’s personal touches. The cottage is completely renovated and with its high ceilings it makes you feel as if the space is bigger than it actually is. Plus with its traditional non-gas fireplace - if you like building and tending to fires this place is just for you. Definitely will be back to visit when the autumnal leaves begin to fall.

    Moj2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place provides you with a comfortable bed to rest, a view of the back woods and a pond, a well equipped kitchen and a cute fire stove for you to warm up after a day of hiking. We came in later than expected from the city, and Merri was kind enough to call us and let us know about a few things so we wouldn't get lost (since we were coming in late at night). She prepped the stove and had the space heater on so we came in to a warm house. We only saw each other on our way out. You feel as if you're secluded in the woods, even though their house is pretty close. Highly recommended if you're thinking about escaping and relaxing!

    Gina2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Merri's place was super cute and nestled in the woods. It was close to Omega Institute which is why I chose it. I would definitely stay again.

  • What an incredible weekend! The Painted Turtle Cottage blew us away! We stayed here for a birthday weekend getaway and it was such a spectacular experience. There were so many small thoughtful touches that really made this one of the best AirBnB experience we've ever had - from the homemade pancake mix and pre prepared English muffins and breakfast to the bottle of wine waiting for us. We highly recommend this place! And we can't wait to stay again!

Relax in Rhinebeck on 3 rural acres that's only 5 miles from the crowded village! A charming vintage home with top ratings for both cleanliness as well as style. The retreat features a mid-century modern design aesthetic, colorful decor and furnishings, contrasting textures and patterns, and is close to the Hudson Valley's many outdoor and cultural offerings.
This is a sweet little circa 1968 period rambler on 3 rolling, wild-flowered acres, newly refurbished (with period elements intact) and decorated in a style that is the intersection of Mid-Century modern and Mad Men/Boho chic. It's a nice get-away and centrally located to enjoy all that Rhinebeck and the Hudson Valley has to offer. There are 2 bedrooms with new beds, vintage period dressers and luxury linens, plus a bright and sunny eat-in kitchen. There are 2 separate living rooms ... one with a 50" flat screen TV, the other for music or reading. A separate dining room with views of the field complete the setting. It's nicely country: close to everything, but a 60 acre horse farm is across the street (where some guests board their mounts), deer often in the back yard (and eat my topiaries out front), and a beautiful pheasant or a shy red fox often can be glimpsed in the field on the side of the house.
The home is located just five minutes from the town of Rhinebeck. Visit the village to discover its restaurants, art movie house, and events at the Fairground. The area is also home to historic homes and heritage sites.
  • We spent a long weekend in DJ's home and couldn't have asked for more! From the excellent communication to the extra touches she provided, this place is truly an escape from the city. The home is comfortable and cozy and within short distances to the nearby towns of Red Hook and Rhinebeck. DJ's expertise of the area came in handy at all times of the day. Great host, great home, and a beautiful opportunity to explore upstate New York!

  • We spent our Christmas holiday at Dj's home. The house is charming, clean and well equipped with anything you might need for a stay. Dj includes a few special touches for your arrival. Check-in/check-out seamless. I will be returning to the area and would happily select this house again. Thank you Dj!

  • We had a fabulous long weekend at this Airbnb! The house had everything we could’ve needed to make our stay comfortable and was stylishly decorated. DJ was an exceptional host! She gave us many recommendations for things to do and restaurants in the area that made our stay much easier to navigate. I would absolutely recommend this place to a friend!

    Rachel2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • DJ was an awesome and very thoughtful host. She left very detailed notes and checked in on us, which we really appreciated. She also left a coffee cake! We had everything we needed and more. I asked her about doing an early check in, which she was not able to do, but said she would treat us to cappuccinos while we waited, which she did :). The kitchen and bathroom were very well stocked and the check in and check out were a breeze.

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at DJ's cottage. We had everything we needed. Loved the little touches like the fresh baked coffee cake, endless supply of keurig coffee pods and milk in the fridge. Plus, DJ checked in with us on our arrival and departure. The cottage is only a few minutes' drive from the village of Rhinebeck, so very convenient for us while we were there to take my husband's son back to college at Bard.

  • Jen and Nathan’s home is lovely, charming, and very clean. Simple touches, thoughtful details, and ample supplies for day to day needs make staying here a joy. We were greeted after a long drive in my tiny car by a fantastic bottle of wine waiting for us. The sheets and towels are soft, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen and bathrooms are both clean and functional. The loft upstairs is the perfect place to spend a sunny and cold winter day. The house is just off the Taconic which is very convenient for those unfamiliar with driving in the area; however it is about 20 minutes from the center of Red Hook and about 30 from Hudson. No matter, driving in any direction over any distance in Dutchess or Columbia county is beautiful and relaxing. Just watch out for deer at dusk! We will come back if we can!

    Judd2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

There is a selection of restaurants, good liquor store, coffeeshop etc. There is also a big supermarket in Red Hook (Hannaford Grocery Store) if you need. There are farm stands with great produce you’ll pass including Mignorelli in Red Hook. Tivoli is very small (a 1 stoplight town) but really charming and has a real Brooklyn ex-patriot vibe. The ice cream shop here is the BEST (Fortunes), just next door to the Hotel Tivoli which has great brunch/lunch. Across the street is the Tivoli Market (little hipster market with food and also great sandwiches and coffee). Up the street a bit is Murray’s, a coffeeshop/restaurant inside an old church. Germantown is another great town to explore—about 20 minutes from the house. The main attraction there is a fantastic restaurant, Gaskins. The town is also home to the well-known foodie destination, Otto’s (market/butcher) and great antique and home goods stores. The home is 15 minutes away from the new West Taghkanic Diner, recently reviewed by NY Magazine’s Grub Street. Hudson is a bit farther (25 minutes). Great food, antiquing, art galleries and theatre.
  • This place is exactly what you are looking for when you head upstate for weekend away. Great design, perfect kitchen to cook great meals, and a nice location surrounded by trees. I would definitely come back!

  • This A-Frame was so classic and yet modern! We had a great time. The kitchen is also well stocked with all the necessities to make a great meal. The deck outside and the view were outstanding. We would stay here again

  • Jake’s house is amazing...beautiful, secluded property in a great part of the Catskills! The home’s interior is so well done...wish my own home was as nice! We had an annual Friendsgiving weekend here and have stayed in some unreal homes in the past...this one was up there with the best of them! Communication from the owners was top notch as well...very prompt and responsive. Would totally recommend a stay here!

  • The house was beautiful & cozy and everything we had hoped for. We would go back in an instant and recommend it anyone!

  • This place looks exactly as portrayed in the photos. It's very chic and new. We had a wonderful time staying here and definitely want to come back when the weather is warmer so we can take advantage of dining on the deck. We made a few roaring fires and went out to eat a lot of good restaurants in the area. The location is super convenient. We went to rhinebeck, tivoli, and hudson. The beds are super comfortable and the showers heat up very quickly. We even saw a bob cat in the drive way!

    Hannah2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We felt glamorous and cozy as soon as we stepped into the house and right at ease! Perfect for a girl's weekend getaway, we loved the open kitchen/living room for relaxing and tapas-style dinners, with cozy, calm bedroom spaces to retreat to in the evening. Bringing home several styling ideas - the dishware, bathroom tiling, hand towels, couch throws, and artwork were gorgeous!

Set deep within a 10 acre park-like estate one mile from the Village of Rhinebeck, the 1,100 square foot guest cottage was designed to be a simple getaway retreat for one or two couples who want a relaxing retreat in the woods, but who also want the the very best of conveniences of modern living. Nestled in an old-growth forest of oak, maple and dogwood trees, the black cedar exterior makes the cottage gently recede into the landscape.
This modern, open plan space has a large windowed living room overlooking the natural beauty of the property. The 2 bedrooms (1 K, 1 Q bed) are private, and tehre is laundry in the cottage. The European-made kitchen is equipped with an Ariston cooktop that has both gas and electric burners, a Bosch dishwasher, a small Gaggenau convection oven and a built-in Gaggenau cappuccino maker. The property also features an automatic backup generator so power outages will not get in the way of your enjoyment. We do allow certain dogs, but we will have to add a pet fee of $25 per dog.
In the heart of the Hudson Valley, Rhinebeck has something for everyone. Two hours from New York City by car or Amtrak, the village has a small town feel with cute shops and fabulous restaurants. There are countless parks where you can take a casual stroll overlooking the Hudson River or do some of the most serious hiking and rock climbing on the East Coast. Rich in history, the Hudson River Valley has historical sites, mansions to tour and old towns and villages, some dating back three hundred years. You can Visit nearby farms and farmstands or head out to Woodstock, Hudson, Millbrook or Kingston, all within 30 minutes by car.
  • We loved this modern cottage! It was so quiet and peaceful, and the setting was beautiful. Danielle is a terrific host - so responsive and helpful! Hopefully, we can come back soon.

  • Great place to be out if you a significant other. Great for anniversary get away. Even for relationship problems, great location to get away as a couple and clear the air.

    Jacob2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fabulous stylish cottage in a beautiful, secluded yet very convenient location near Rhinebeck. Extremely smart design - the open floor plan is a genius use of space. It was cozy but plenty of room for us - a family of four (two adults, two kids under 2). Gorgeous kitchen is abundantly stocked with chic, minimalist china and kitchenware. The furniture is like out of a magazine and the beds are super comfortable. The wood burning stove kept everything toasty warm in early November. A truly singular and fantastic experience. I wish we could have stayed so much longer! We will definitely be back. Thank you to the gracious and attentive hosts!

    Caitlin2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and neat! The house had everything you’d ever need for cooking, and was very close to town!

    Kristen2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Large and spacious, stocked with almost every kitchen item you could need. This spot is secluded but close to town. It should be noted this is a guesthouse situated less than 100 ft from the main house but it was desiged well so it's barely looking onto the other house.

    Bridget2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a wonderful weekend away from NYC. The Rhinebeck area is absolutely gorgeous and just what the doctor ordered to cure those city blues.

Just 90 miles north of New York City, the Shaker House was hand-built over 20 years by architect Fritz Sultzer from IM Pei's Manhattan offices as his personal retirement home with a massive two-story pool (Memorial Day-Labor Day) and a large modern spa (year-round).
Just 90 miles north of New York City, the Shaker House was hand-built over 20 years by architect Fritz Sulzer from IM Pei's Manhattan offices as his personal retirement home, and has a massive two-story pool (open Memorial Day-Labor Day) and a large modern spa (open year-round). Blasted from the granite clefts overlooking the main house, the pool area consists of two heated pools, two waterfalls, multiple patios (including one in the water), custom lighting, and a thunderous sound-system that can stream music from any Apple device. It's like a private, 5-star resort was airlifted into the middle of a forest. The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and the hot tub is open year-round! There are 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms in the main house and 1 bed and bathroom in a separate guest house, called the Smoke Shack. Each bedroom is entirely unique: The Quarry Suite is built into the exposed rock and has a massive attached bathroom, which with an open shower, hand-laid emerald mirrored tile, and waterfall flowing from the exposed rocks is like a mini-spa in and of itself. The Aviary is a window-lined bedroom on the top floor with a bed that sits on a lofted floor under a skylight and a sleeper sofa and large walk-in closet. The Nursery is a large, light-filled bedroom with an attached, fully equiped crib room, so new parents can be close to their baby without having to fear going into their bedroom. The Master Suite has modern, clean lines and a king-size thermarest bed. It's attached to a private, slate bathroom with a large rock-lined shower and brushed nickle fixtures throughout. Le Petit Boudoir has two custom-built adult-length twin XL beds and a large cedar-lined closet. It's right next to a beautiful french-country bathroom with a large claw-foot tub to relax in. The Smoke Shack was the original cabin built on the property by Fritz in the 1970s. With its all birch interior, rustic furnishings, loft sleeping area, full bathroom, kitchenette, and a 56' flat screen TV with cable and Apple TV, it is a fully self-sufficent home in and of itself. There are also multiple common spaces for people to get away: The Great Room serves and the focal point of the Shaker House and contains four distinct social settings. The TV area has a 60' flatscreen TV with surround sound and a large sectional for seating. The fireside has a large central hearth, fully stocked bar, and seating for six. The dining area has a massive custom built cherry table that seats up to 16 people and opens into the kitchen, which is fully stocked with all the appliances, cookware, dishes, and cutlery to prepare a feast for the entire house. Kids Only is a long playroom on the top floor with a 56' flat-screen TV, cable, Apple TV, Xbox, craft table, tumbling mats, toy-filled shelves and enough pillows and beanbags for up to 12 kids to have a sleep-over they will not soon forget. The Sun Room, with a fully stocked wet bar, beer and soda filled beverage refrigerator, ice maker, beach towels, and pool-side dishware, serves as the perfect staging area between the house and the pool. The Library is crafted entirely from cherry, gently lit by the large bay window, and fully wired for internet access.
The Shaker House is set into the granite clefts between the Catskills and the Berkshires 90 miles north of New York City. The Shaker House is nestled in 25 acres of private secluded forest.
  • Ryan's place was so grand! We had a good amount of snow while we were up there, and even got to sled a little bit (there were 2 sleds in the Barn). There are a few paths around the house that are fun to walk around on. The house is huge and was great for our group of 14. Everyone had enough room to play games, watch movies and cook. All the beds were comfortable and warm. There were plenty of extra blankets upstairs. While this was a winter trip and we didn't get to use the pool, the hot tub area is also lovely. Good to know: our rental car (Turo) ended up cancelling, so we had to take the train up to Poughkeepsie station. The Uber up to the house only cost $30 for the 45 minute ride (we tipped extra of course). It really is very accessible from the city. Ryan was extremely responsive and helpful for the 3 days we were at the house. We hope to stay here again.

    Elena2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Shaker House was the perfect destination for my birthday getaway. The house is spectacular and unlike any other place I have ever been. The hot tub was an amazing touch and the grounds are beautiful. Both Ryan and the house manager were very quick to respond to all my questions before and during the trip. I hope to return in the summer so I can use the pools!

    Sam2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible home with more than enough space

    Chris2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very big and nice for our large group. Ryan was very helpful and communicated quickly when we had questions. Very sad we visited in the winter and didn’t get to use the pool but the hot tub was a good substitute. We had a great time and would love to visit again in the summer.

    Alix2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were in town for a family wedding, and we almost missed it -- the Shaker house was that great!! We found ourselves in the lovely hot tub, surrounded by singing birds and beautiful fall trees, and could have just stayed put. The multilevel waterfall-laden pool was closed for the season, but it looked fantastic. This house is wondrous, unusual, and surprising. Walking into the foyer, greeted by imposing statues, tall ceilings, slate tiles, and a grand staircase, you feel as if you’re taking a tour of a historic mansion. Your biggest surprise is the first floor bathroom, dominated by a granite rock outcrop complete with a waterfall. It took some doing to figure out how to make the waterfall run (it’s a tiny button in a closet behind a door outside the bathroom), but it was so amazing we took turns showering in there. Still on the first floor, you’ll find the staircase alternative – a small elevator. This is great for getting your luggage up and down the stairs. The second floor is just as awe-inspiring. The great room cannot be adequately captured in photos, and the view of trees provided by the huge windows is unsurpassed. We even had a fire in the fireplace. The kitchen had everything we needed, although we didn’t have any meals there except breakfast. How great to have some condiments and spices available. And trash and recycling large and accessible! Ten points! It took a few people a while to realize the ice was downstairs in the “sun room”, even though there’s a sign in the freezer. Bedrooms each had their own character and for the most part were comfortable. Guests in the shack complained of a mattress that sunk down in the middle, so that might not be the place for folks who are prone to backaches. All in all, enough beds and bathrooms for all 12 of us. We had no kids in our party and therefore didn’t make use of the children’s play area. We would have loved to play music over the house speakers but did not have Apple devices. You should know going in that if you’re not an Apple user you should bring your own speaker, as playing anything off the menu will cost you money. It was a beautiful place to be in the early fall, and we can’t wait to spend a summer weekend here.

  • Shaker house was a great place for entertaining large groups and families. It’s excellently secluded and the property is well maintained.

    Troy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely secluded house in the woods. Just as described. Perfect for our large group of 10 adults and 2 tweens. The board games and puzzles a nice extra touch. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook large meals. Ryan responded to emails quickly but we had no reason whatever to contact him while we were actually there.. it was just perfect!

  • The Shaker House was a spacious and fantastic place for our family vacation. We had a wonderful time and Ryan was a great, communicative host who responded quickly to any questions! The pool was amazing!

  • We loved our stay at Camp Connie for a girls weekend! Make sure to bring any essentials for cooking, as we did have improvise without a few things (can opener, clingy wrap, etc) We always made do though, and the house is just perfect. We loved the little string lights out on the deck, and the awesome wooden table & benches off the kitchen, which was perfect for mealtime. We got five guests very comfortably, and had plenty of extra space.

This guest house is perched on a hill in the woods, on a creek that flows below one of the only remaining rail trestles, down to a trout river just a short walk away - the setting is historic and picturesque! The house is newly renovated and done up with designer furniture and great details.
We bought and completely renovated this guest house in 2012. We fell in love with the location and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! The property is amazing! To reach the house, you drive one mile through the woods via the former Hucklebush Rail Line that operated between the 1870's and 1940's-- bringing crops from surrounding farms to market. The creek joins one of the best trout rivers in the Hudson Valley-- the Roeliff Jansen Kill (Roe Jan)-- at the northwest corner of the property. You can relax by the Roe Jan, go trout fishing, or take a dip in summer. ...Or enjoy being in the house. We’ve done it up with designer furniture and great details. All the basics are provided (linens, towels, etc) and the kitchen is well-equipped. Relax in the hot tub or seating area behind the house while listening to the creek below. Enjoy dinner or a bottle of wine outside in spring, summer, and fall. Or... enjoy the great restaurants, antiquing, and outdoor activities in the area.
The area is full of towns with incredible restaurants, shops, history, beautiful scenery, and outdoor activities! Please send us an inquiry for a list of specific restaurants and activities that we recommend. This will also be provided if you book with us.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Eric and Denny’s guest house, managed by Jackie. It’s location in the forest by the stream, stylish decor and amenities make it a very fun getaway. We wish we could stay longer and look forward to be back again!

  • This place is a gem. I wanted a little relaxing getaway for my birthday and Jackie’s place was absolutely perfect. I could live in that hot tub surrounded by trees!! Not too far from Red Hook or Rhinebeck where we found some really great food. 35 minutes from Catamount Mountian for some low key snowboarding. And dog friendly so our pup got to come along. She loved walking down to the creek and exploring the woods around the house. We really enjoyed our time here!

    Julia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jackies cabin is wonderful. Located off the beaten path it’s the perfect place to unplug, zone out and leave behind any pressures from work or city love. The wall of windows offers a calming beautiful view of a creek in the back yard making your morning coffee even more pleasant. The hot tub in the back is completely isolated and lovely. They have a grill for a nice dinner. The instructions were easy to follow and check in and check out was easy. I can’t wait to come back!

Check us out... instagram upstate_down! This renovated charming cottage is originally a barn from an 1800s. Enjoy open concept living with vaulted ceiling, sliding doors leading to large deck and all original barn beam work. Upstairs is a spacious loft with incredible king sized bed. Downstairs is a walk out basement with pull out sectional, hammock chair and TV for streaming. The house is privately set on a wooded dead end road, with fire pit and more all 5 minute drive to Rhinebeck Village.
Years ago my husband and I bought our house and admired this little barn house we could see in the distance from our yard. We later found out that it was the original barn to the farmhouse that once sat where our house is. In the early 70s the barn was separated from our parcel and sold off. It slowly deteriorated and many people thought it should be torn down. We finally bought the barn back in foreclosure in December 2018 and have had great joy binging this little barn house back to life! Tear down???? I think not!! It’s magical, private and full of character. Let us host you so you too can see it’s magic.

  • We really enjoyed having our own space to stay while visiting family. It was very cozy, convenient and super clean. Diana is an excellent host and from the start was communicative and quick to respond to any questions. Her place is within minutes walking to Rhinebeck, just follow the sidewalk into town. We highly recommend.

    Nicole2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Diana was super-helpful, both prior to and during our stay. The downstairs room was clean and comfortable, and an easy walk into town. She went the extra mile to help make our day at Sinterklaas special, even providing some parking tips in town for our older friend who was meeting us there.

    Stephen2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Diana's space was comfortable, clean, and just what we needed for an overnight trip to attend Sinterklass! We really appreciated her excellent communication, tips, and the heated mattress was a bonus we still talk about. Such a treat on a chilly December night! It's close to downtown Rhinebeck, safe, and quiet. Thank you!

    Liza2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Diana’s place is cozy, sparkling clean, stylish with nice little touches. It is also a 2 minute drive from the village of Rhinebeck. I would definitely stay there again.

This bright, airy and rustic cottage has long been a favorite getaway in Tivoli. The cottage is part of our rural homestead on 10 acres, within walking distance of the village yet secluded at the edge of town.
The cottage sits on a round about at the end of a long driveway, surrounded by fields and woods. There are two main spaces: a ground floor living/kitchen and an upstairs bedroom with a private deck. There’s a little bathroom with a toilet and a sink on the ground floor. There’s a claw foot tub with a handheld shower in the upstairs bedroom (**no enclosure for showering standing up). It is equipped with a small kitchenette for simple meals, a cozy soapstone gas stove for chilly nights, and is simply furnished for a quiet Hudson Valley getaway. We have two children and live full time in our home, down the hill from the cottage. Please be sure to note that this property is in a country setting. We hope you will enjoy the sounds of the katydids as you gaze at the stars, the beauty of fireflies and monarch butterflies, but also understand that some critters may find their way into the cottage from time to time.
Our home is located within a 15-20 minute walk - or a quick bike ride - to the village of Tivoli. Across the street from our driveway, is Tivoli Bays, a 1400 acre preserve of bike and walking trails, through which you can get to the Bard College campus. About Tivoli: Tivoli is a quaint little village on the Hudson, with several great restaurants, an Irish Pub, a cafe, a bakery, a little general store, a wine store, a good slice, a laundromat, a post office, a library and little park with a playground. It is home to the Tangent Theater Company and the Kaatsban International Dance Center. 5 minutes from Tivoli: Bard College is a quick drive away (or a bike ride through the Bays), and offers year-round cultural programming. 10 minutes from Tivoli: Red Hook and Germantown are both about 10 minutes from Tivoli, with restaurants, home goods stores and antiques. 15 minutes from Tivoli: Rhinebeck is a 15 minute drive with many restaurants, Upstate Films, shops and a great farmer's market 20 minutes from Tivoli: Rhinecliff Amtrak station is about 18 minutes from Tivoli. The city of Hudson offers more options of restaurants, antiques, galleries, theaters and music venues, the Basilica, as well as the Hudson Amtrak station. Kingston, across the river, is a 25 minute drive with more restaurant options, as are numerous little towns on the foothills of the Catskill Mountains.
  • Yuko and Ethan’s place is so charming and cozy - a perfect spot for a weekend getaway or a base to explore the Hudson Valley. Can’t recommend enough!

    Zachary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely valentines weekend at the cottage! While it may seem close to the main house, it’s very private. We were also pleasantly surprised that the place was so quiet even though it’s close to a main road- we are noise sensitive and heard nothing but chickens cooing! It heats up nicely with the thermostats and furnace- all of the things you need for a great getaway. Proximity to Tivoli, rhinebeck, and hudson made this an unbeatable spot.

    Frances2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Go for peace and quiet amidst a beautiful landscape. Cottage is clean and elegantly spare. Town is close and convenient. It was hard to leave Yuko and Ethan’s choice spot.

    Jane2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautifully constructed and decorated, and the place was prepared and set up perfectly for us. Yuko and Ethan were quick to respond and were extremely accommodating to our late arrival, making our check-in after a long drive very easy. The location was great too, close to the town and yet secluded enough. Thank you for letting us stay!

    Andrea2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Yuko & Ethan’s place is a great space for a couple to get away too. No television, WiFi if you need it - and a great location that was near everything in Tivoli. Would highly recommend. Hudson, Kingston and Rhinebeck are only a 20 minute drive. The tub was a huge plus and big enough for two! Had a great stay.

    Anthony2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful and relaxing space. We arrived to a fire already going in the gas stove and instantly felt at home. There’s a beautiful view and it’s close to Tivoli, which is an extremely cute town all its own. If we had any questions Yuko & Ethan were quick to answer. I would absolutely recommend this stay to anyone!

    Conor2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The space is just like the pictures!! Host is so sweet and responsive. She even brought us fresh eggs from her chickens. The sweetest, quaint cabin I’ve ever stayed in! Simple and very clean!

    Renee2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was even better in person. Its immaculate and cozy. What a gem.

Ideally situated for exploring Northern Dutchess and Southern Columbia Counties. Hill House sits back off of a main road which gets you to the middle of town in minutes. The 3BR house boasts a fireplace, a large kitchen, and a lovely dining room which has been our family gathering space for generations. It's located on property of a small motel, which is currently closed as we prepare to fully renovate the property. In the meantime, the home is yours to enjoy.
Lovely Dutch Colonial home. Convenient location. Well appointed.
Upper Red Hook is very rural. The property is across the street from a rural convenience store, gas station and wine shop. 99% of our guests love it's rural yet easily accessible location. Around the corner is one of the most beautiful farms that the valley boasts. It offers pick-your-own fields, a wonderful market, a delicious food truck, a gallery and goats!
  • Right in the middle of the most beautiful part of Dutchess County, this 1920s Dutch Colonial was a great home base for us four friends to explore the area. Vanessa was a wonderful host and had the house in excellent order, with lots of towels and fluffy duvets.

    Ann2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa's home was a perfect retreat for my family's getaway weekend. The location is great - right near major Hudson Valley towns and popular attractions. The house is very comfortable and nicely decorated. There were thoughtful touches, including snacks. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking. There were several spaces for my family to spend time together (kitchen table, dining room, living room). We would love to stay again.

  • Vanessa's place is a lovely old farmhouse filled with charm. The house is conveniently located in the Hudson Valley, so exploring the area was easy. She added thoughtful touches such as flowers, nice toiletries and pantry staples. We liked the artwork and the ambience of the house.

    Marie2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is spectacular-better than pics! Location is unbeatable for a walkable small quaint town. Very clean, and Privacy was great- a nonissue. Hottub was a surprise-- easy to use and cleanest ever, in beautiful room w/state of the art bathroom, tropical plants, beveled-glass (steamed-up) window, + netflix! Hosts were great!.. Quality kitchen amenities, shower, and plenty of high quality linens.

    Bernadette2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location is amazing and it was such a joy to be in their carriage house! Very attentive and really enjoyed my time!

    Daniel2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful spot for sure. The kids spent all day in the yard and the pool, which is temperature controlled and has a diving board. The apartment was spotless and beautiful. Parents of younger kids be aware that the stairs to get into the carriage house are a little steep and might be tough for toddlers to navigate. This was the case for us but we spent so much time outside it was fine. Would definitely recommend for couples or small families. 5 stars.

    Sarah2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Carriage House is a beautifully renovated antique barn. The interior is just lovely with every detail you may need for your stay. The pool, hot tub and grounds are an amazing bonus. In the heart of the Village of Rhinebeck with a short walk to many wonderful restaurants & shops.

  • Staying with Robert and Lee was a very pleasant experience! Their home is lovely and the private suite was quite comfortable. The location was great- a very quick walk to the main street and all the attractions in Rhinebeck. We would definitely stay again.

    Tory2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Robert and Lee have a beautiful home and have prepared a special space for anyone who is smart enough to choose it. The personal greeting at check-in is a special touch and their willingness to do whatever is necessary to make your stay enjoyable makes this a can't miss stay in Rhinebeck. It is everything you are looking for and close enough to walk to the downtown area. For certain, I will be staying here again the next time I am in town (unless someone beats me to it).

    Daniel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Robert and Lee was super nice and welcoming. The large suite was really lovely. Everything was perfectly clean and the bed was beautiful and comfortable. We loved the flat screen TV, coffee, mini fridge and private bathroom. It was about a 10-minute walk into town and we enjoyed the flexibility of leaving the car at home and just walking into town. There were plenty of historic activities and nature hikes just a short drive away. Overall, a very relaxing and fun weekend getaway!

    Marissa2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Robert and Lee are great hosts. Close proximity to town and all the comforts of home. This is my 5th stay. I’ll keep coming back 😉

    Kathleen2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
