Step into history at Windrift Hall, a tastefully restored 1790s Federal Style Manor house on 14 acres with a private pond overlooking meadows, woods, a gently flowing creek and manicured gardens.
Old world elegance meets new world charm in this classic manor house in the picturesque Hudson River Valley. Situated on top of a hill the house overlooks gardens and stonewalls, meadows, woods, a large pond and gently flowing creek. Windrift Hall sleeps 12 guests and features 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, library, study, gracious center hall and a beautiful country kitchen. The house is filled with an eclectic mix of art and antiques reflecting the origins of the European owners and their love for design and good craftsmanship. Every room has a wood burning fireplace and every window has unobstructed views of the nature around you. So while you're chopping vegetables in the kitchen you might see a blue heron landing gracefully on the pond or you can study the hawks circling in midair. Spring is a beautiful time to see the gardens and wild flowers come into bloom, in summer you might like to take your meals in the shadow of the 250 old maple tree and cool off with a swim in the spring fed pond. In fall there's a spectacular foliage on view right out of your bedroom window and winters are perfect for lounging in front of the fireplace after a run on the nearby slopes of Hunter or Wyndham. We're happy to host family reunions, weddings and retreats and our shaded 1100sf pavilion overlooking the pond is the perfect location for big gatherings or a yoga class. Please inquire about our separate regulations and prices for events. We like to think of Windrift Hall as more than a beautiful location, but a special place for unions with a peaceful energy that allows you to connect. Check in your past and future at the gate and enter into a space where time seems to stand still. Enjoy the presence surrounded by nature and let a dedicated team help you to ease into the moment. Make the most of your stay with us by embarking on an inner journey with a custom tailored experience created just for you. Please inquire about a yoga class, sound healing with Tibetan Singing Bowls, massage therapy, ceramic or product making workshop, creating your all natural body lotions with your signature scent. All our collaborators are certified practitioners and creatives who align with our high standards of quality and holistic philosophy, so you can take your mind off your to do list, create space for fresh thinking and allow yourself to just be.
Conveniently located at the corner of Route 81 and 9W, you’ll find a supermarket, a gas station, a pharmacy, a pizza restaurant, a wine shop and a medical emergency center. Personally I love to shop at the Black Horse Farm on 9W towards Athens. They have a huge selection of fresh organic produce. While listening to the classic radio station, you can sample their delightful spreads of homemade products while browsing through the shop. Our 300sf spring fed pond is set in a dramatic natural setting and perfect for swimming, but if you feel like going to an outdoor swimming pool, there’s the Catskill Valley Pool in the nearby town of Athens. Are you a yogi? You will love our Manduka Pro-Lite mats and props. We're happy to recommend local teachers for an invigorating or restorative yoga class at the pond. You’re welcome to use the public tennis courts of Coxsackie or you might enjoy a round of mini-golf on 9W while trying one of the 26 delicious ice cream flavors served at Tom’s next door. If you feel like watching a movie we have a flat screen TV with a Netflix account or you might like to see the latest flic at the charming Drive-In Theatre on 9W. If you’re interested in historic places don’t miss out on a tour through the Broncks House and Museum. It’s in walking distance and one of the oldest houses in America. Our library has books about all the historic places in the Hudson Valley, Olana across the river at the Rip van Wrinkle Bridge or Clermont on 9E are just a few other beautiful mansions to visit within 1/2 hours drive. If you stay with us I’m sure you have a love for old and beautiful things. Our place is the best starting point for your antique treasure hunt. For antiquing around the corner we recommend the Coxsackie Antique Center on 9W showcasing the wares of 100 local dealers and across the river is the town of Hudson, famous for some of the most eclectic antique shops in the country. A stroll along picturesque Warren Street takes you to dozens of shops ranging from high-end stores with fine period pieces to unique little boutiques. There are also some nice restaurants. My personal favorites are the Swoon Kitchenbar and Crimson and Sparrow. Some of the best hikes are in the Catskills. You’ll find maps, hiking and walking guides as well as other information about Greene County in our library. Within 30min drive there are 2 great ski resorts in the town of Hunter and Wyndham. After a day on the slopes, you will really enjoy to snuggle up in front of one of the 5 working fireplaces in the house. Please refer to the guidebook on this site for exact locations.
  • Amazingly beautiful house in the Catskills! Had an amazing time- the hosts were very responsive and helpful. I hope I can come back some time in the future for a longer stay!!

  • Our wedding at Windrift was beautiful! It was a really special place, our friends and family loved the property - a special place to connect with family and friends. The kids had a blast exploring and fishing in the pond. The new pavilion is both a beautiful structure and one that blends with the grounds, it was perfect. We stayed at the house, just the two of us, for the wedding weekend. It's such a relaxing, peaceful, impressive space. Susanne was always helpful and responsive to our questions leading up to the wedding. We couldn't have chosen a better place to get married! Thanks Susanne!

  • My wife and I hosted a reunion/wedding reception at Susanne's beautiful place. Everything was just perfect from communications with Susanne to the whole stay. Our friends and family were pleasantly delighted when they arrived, some as far away as from Singapore, Russia, Taiwan, Berlin. There is not better place for a relaxing weekend getaway from the city. Checkout Instagram for a behind the scenes look at Susanne's wonderful home in the country. #Autumn1010

  • Susanne's house is really wonderful, practically out of a storybook with the grounds and pond. My husband and I rented it for the weekend to celebrate my birthday with friends and it was perfect. The kitchen with a fireplace and big farm table was amazing for the 8 of us to hang out, cook, and enjoy. The house is well kept and has such lovely ambiance. It is secluded while still be easy to access and only about a 25 minute drive into Hudson if one wants to enjoy some shopping or restaurants although with just a weekend we wanted to spend as much time enjoying the house as possible. Everyone in our group is already talking about when we can do a repeat visit!

    Denise2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Susanne's home is exactly as described. The setting is beautiful and truly a place to relax and disengage from life's distractions.

    Kelly2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This the perfect place for a cozy getaway with some great friends or family. The house is decorated beautifully and the beds are so comfortable. i slept like a baby. Threes plenty of room to roam the grounds and go on nice long walks. I love that the grocery store is only minutes away for everything you need. Sue is super sweet and checked in on us to make sure we settled in nicely. I cant wait to come back!!

  • We had a wonderful weekend at Susanne's farmhouse. The property was beautiful. The home was rustic and charming. Susanne and her husband were very easy to communicate with. We also really enjoyed swimming in the pond! The power went out for several hours but that was not Susanne's fault and her husband was very helpful. The only surprise was that one of the bedrooms was a not a real bedroom. There are really only 4 bedrooms. Regardless, we had a great time and I would definitely recommend this property to other guests and would stay here again if I ever find myself in West Coxsackie.

  • We had an excellent time at Jean Louis and Susanne's home. It is absolutely beautiful! We can't wait to return.

Welcome to our home! This one bedroom offers a private bath, Roku TV, private entrance with use of the driveway, outdoor patio and porch along with use of the kitchen, fridge and freezer. For stays longer than a couple days feel free to stock a cabinet and fridge with your groceries. You'll find this room is very private. My neighbors are close but lovely people. Please pardon the "cute" paintings, this used to be the playroom. For same day, last second bookings, message me.
You may use the kitchen and any pots & pans, cooking utensils and spices, oil, etc. you'd like. Anyone may cook anytime...simply let me know if you plan to so I can stay out of your way. You may use the dining room when the door from the kitchen is open. I tend to leave it closed when I am not around.
I am near a grocery store, convenience store and gas station, Dunkin' Donuts around the corner. It's about 8-10 miles in either direction to restaurants and shopping. There is a park within a 5 minute walk and a pool there that's open from about July 1-August 30 and costs $2 per person to enter. We are very close to several farms and mountains, breweries, pubs and wineries. Museums and many attractions in western Massachusetts are easy day-trips.
  • Rachel's place is absolutely darling. There were goodies and a binder of local activities and menus on the bedside table. The area is very quiet and safe and a short drive to the city.

    Kevin2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Easy access, quiet, and close to the highway.

    Joe2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my husband stayed at Rachel's place for one night on our way from the Adirondacks to NYC. The room is quite small and cozy, we had our own shower and entrance to the kitchen. Rachel closes the door to the rest of the house after 9 pm, so it felt as if we had the whole apartment to our own. The greatest thing is that we had a separate entrance to the room right next to the driveway, which is so convenient! Also, Rachel had a lot of great recommendations, and we ended up having breakfast in a great diner thanks to her. Would stay again and recommend it!

    Aliaksandra2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was such a great host on our stop in town during our road trip. Flexible with our late check in and had no issues with the beautiful room and bathroom provided.

    Jennings2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was great. The room was clean and cozy for one-two people. It has a private bathroom that comes with towels and basic amenities. The complimentary Roku stuck with Amazon Prime and Netflix was a fantastic add-on, one which I used liberally. Additionally, there were snacks next to the bed which added to the welcoming-feel of the place. Although I didn't make much use of it, the kitchen was located right outside the room. If you find yourself in need of a place to stay for a day or even multiple days, I don't think you'd be disappointed if you stayed with Rachel.

    Sammy2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Rachel's place. After a long night at the Basilica Hudson Soundscape 2017 festival I was so pleased to arrive at Rachel's place to find the light on, on the steps of my room door. I also had a convenient place to park right outside my room door. The private entrance was perfect and the key was easy to find so that I could check myself in. The room was more than enough space for me to quickly kick my shoes off and get comfortable. I went straight to the shower and was so happy to find a squeaky clean bathroom with plenty of hand soap, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There were also plenty of clean towels for me to use as well. I even found (and used) new toothbrushes and toothpaste! The mattress was super comfy and the sheets, pillow cases and blanket smelled like fresh linens. I slept great! In the morning Rachel made me hot water for the oatmeal & breakfast tea she provided. She also had fresh, organic bananas (my favorite) as well as apples, oranges and pears. A vegan girls delight! I brought my own protein powder and was pleasantly surprised when Rachel offered to let me use her personal blender to make my morning smoothie!!! I just love this host!! Can't wait to make up a reason to stay again! Thank you so much Rachel!!

  • Will stay next time we are passing through! Great communication :)

    Hadley2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. Clean room, private bathroom, big bed, and Rachel has always been helpful, friendly and easy-going. If you want, you can choose your own privacy, if you want to connect, just open the door. There is a good atmosphere every day, and even more so with her lovely and lively daughter. Bring the car, as Ravena itself has a supermarket and that's about it.

  • Wendy and Charlie's place was beautiful and cozy. My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights for a wedding at Windrift Hall in Cocksackie and we couldn't have felt luckier to have found this place. Not only was it centrally located, but quiet and peaceful. The sunlight in this room was dreamy, the bed was comfortable, there was a nice small fridge to keep our beverages cold, and a Keurig in the room for us to make a quick cup of coffee. The functionality and details in this room were so thoughtfully done. I woke up in the mornings and sat out on the front porch with their dog, Buddy, and read a book while the sun came up over the water. Wendy and Charlie were lovely and hospitable and we had some great conversations together during our stay. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to come again!

    Kristina2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy and Charlie's residence overlooks the Hudson river. My stay at their residence was peaceful and tranquil. They were tremendous hosts. The bed mattress was most comfortable and the location was excellent to travel for business. I cannot thank them enough. They are an asset to Airbnb. I will stay again when I am assigned in this part of NY state . (jack)

  • Wendy, Charlie and Buddy (peaceful, beautiful dog) have an oasis in New Baltimore. There is a stunning view of the Hudson and you could spend your entire time looking at their antiques and collectibles. A very warm, gracious couple. I would highly recommend a stay there.

  • My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay in Desiree's home. The space is even better than pictured, and amenities like the fireplace and large projector were such special treats. We will definitely be returning again and again!

    Calli2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Desiree's place was amazing! It was so much more beautiful than the pictures. The road to the house is incredibly charming and peaceful. I hope to stay again!

    Allison2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great experience with Desiree and her property from start to finish. Desiree herself was friendly and helpful, responding to our questions quickly and informatively. She pointed us towards some close-by hiking trails which were scenic and fun. The house itself is beautiful -- spacious, elegant and thoughtfully furnished with anything you might need (three different coffee-makers, plush bathrobes, bluetooth speaker) and some you probably would not have thought of (HD projector, yoga room with mats and instructional videos!). We had more than enough space and enjoyed the quiet of the area and the house. Bring some food to cook in the fully equipped kitchen and you'll be all set! The experience was restful and relaxing, and we will definitely be back!

    Amanda2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful find! The house was spotless and beautifully decorated, and the views of the Hudson were fantastic. And Desiree was such a helpful host! I wasn't familiar with the area, and she answered all of my questions. I can't recommend highly enough!

    Anna2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • This home is a gem - right on the Hudson with amazing views. About a 30-minute drive to the town of Hudson and 45 minutes to Tanglewood, so convenient for either. The house has a beautiful deck where we enjoyed most of our time - perfect for alfresco dining. One point to consider - there are two bedrooms but the master is far larger than the other with a huge walk-in closet, wood burning stove, projection TV (the only TV in the house, btw), en-suite master bath which is gorgeous (but no door - so I'd make my husband go in the closet when I needed the "privacy" ..... I'm shy!) The other bedroom is fine but considerably smaller with no dresser or closet. There is a bar where you can hang clothes but you're basically living out of your suitcase. This set up is fine if it's for a family (obviously the parents in the master), but for two couples, there is quite a discrepancy in accommodations so you should know that going in. All-in-all, the house is unique and has a really charming energy - I would rent it again in a heartbeat!

    VALERIE2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Desiree's place was absolutely perfect! We were looking to get out of the city and relax in the country for a few days, and Desiree's place proved to be the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Between the fire place, the porch, the board games, the spacious set-up, and the quiet location, we had everything we needed for an enjoyable, relaxing stay. Desiree couldn't have been any sweeter, answering all our questions promptly and graciously. I'd highly recommend staying at Desiree's place if you're looking for a quiet spot to relax with friends and family.

    Thea2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway from New York City! We will definitely be coming back to stay here again. The hosts were communicative and provided helpful tips for getting around. The house is just as described, gorgeous, clean, quiet and amongst a beautiful setting. I only wished we had stayed here longer as lots to explore in the area, specifically the local hiking trails.

    Esther2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Desiree's place is absolutely stunning! It is a beautifully decorated and big house. Highlights include a yoga room, a kitchen with everything you need and two amazing bedrooms. • Fantastic getaway! Clean, quiet and comfortable. Photos don't do it justice. Marianne was a great host and easy to communicate with from start to finish. Kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. Can't wait to go back!

    D.2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Marianne was incredibly flexible, kind, and generous. She kept a beautifully stocked fridge, coffee, and fire kindling ready for use. Her home and property were so peaceful and lovely--better than I could imagine. A gem of a host and home. Thank you kindly, Marianne!

    Elizabeth 2016-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Marianne's place is an amazing getaway. It's a pretty wooden home in a farm. The home is amazingly stylish, clean and very well maintained. It's also excellently equipped with all amenities - especially the kitchen. The best stocked kitchen ever. Marianne is also an amazing host - very easy to connect with, proactive in her communication and ever reachable via message. Would ask anybody looking to go to Hudson to look at her place! I'd love to visit again in the summer - when the pool is open :)

    Neha2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Marianne's pool house, as well as our interactions with her. She was exceptionally responsive to all of our inquiries about the home and the area. And the house was as lovely as it was comfortable. In addition, we found it to be extremely neat and tidy. Conveniently, everything had its proper place, and everything we needed was at hand. We very much look forward to coming back.

    Kelvin2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Both my boyfriend and myself had the most wonderful relaxing time at the Pool House. We were in Western MA, and NY with our Harley, and this spot was the most perfect spot to land each evening we were there. It was hot, and we were sore from riding and the pool was the best therapy! It was clean, and huge! and all ours. The pool area is quite and private, and much more than I expected. This was what we wanted most, time and quite to ourselves and we got it! The pool house had everything we needed (note: no TV - which was perfect for me!), including some lovely snacks and wine! Thank you so much Marianne, for sharing your wonderful space with us. The area to is quite beautiful, loads of farms and plenty of good motor bike riding that is close by. We really want to go back, and maybe we will do just that near the end of the summer. Marianne was a delight from beginning to end, and it was really nice to chat with her for a bit upon arrival. But she left the place to just us for the rest of the time we were there. She made it feel like it was all ours! Again, thank you! I miss it already :(

    Sharon2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • It was very nice, Getting there and checking in was easy. The big room or living room is comfortable and nicely decorated for the holidays. Two new showers/baths which is always good and all the kitchen is new. There is a sculpture park next town over which made for a good walk. We enjoyed our stay, it was just for one night on our way to visit relatives.

    james2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Marianna was very welcoming and helpful. She was always quick in responding while booking and during our stay! Her home is so beautiful, the photos don't do it justice. Anything extra we needed was easily accessible 5 -10 minutes from the home. Would definitely recommend it!

  • My husband and I enjoyed our stay here - it was peaceful and relaxing, with cavorting deer and birds, and a great dark sky for stargazing. The pool was very clean and refreshing and the location was close to many interesting and lively Hudson Valley towns. The kitchen had everything we needed and Marianne provided great breakfast items, drinks and snacks.

When guests enter through the main door, the first thing they say is, "wow!". Guests take a few steps inside and are instantly drawn to the sunk-in great room which features a dramatic 21ft cathedral ceiling and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the meadow and onto the Hudson. To the right of the great room is the dining room and to the left is the and second living room. With so much open space and sunlight, guests feel like they are outside but enjoy all the amenities of being inside. The home has a total of six large bedrooms. Two master bedrooms- one on the main floor and one on the second level (these are also great for bridal suites). Another feature I love is that each bedroom has a private bathroom with a shower! Additionally, each bedroom has high-definition LCD televisions and sliding glass doors that lead outside to a wrap around porch. The upstairs level is very spacious with a total of 5 bedrooms, a sauna and a balcony area with two couches and a small office nook that over look the great room. Guests often enjoy spending time on the back patio having a cocktail, BBQ-ing and playing outdoor games. And of course the game room is where most guest love to hang out. It's cozy, has a card table, pool table, air hockey, darts, full length bar, refrigerator, four couches, two recliners and a wood burning fireplace! • A group of nine of us stayed the weekend. We loved it. Checking in and out was a piece of cake. Rebecca was accessible and prompt about fielding questions before the stay. Jody, who met us at the house, was warm and friendly, and his recommendations - from where to fish to where to buy the best pie - were spot on. We especially enjoyed grilling dinner, making s'mores in the fire pit, and the privacy of the manor but the relative proximity to activities (biking, running, fishing, farms, whisky tasting...). Thanks for a great stay, and looking forward to the next time!

  • Rebecca and Jody were great in addressing all the questions we needed answered. They made us feel at home and the house was exactly as we had hoped. The house itself was large, spacious, had tons of bedrooms/beds (the bedrooms had different formations which was cool). The kitchen was large and had everything we needed to consistently cook for 12 people. The property itself feels like a compound, it's so large! Very cool. We would recommend staying here!

    Gregory2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • In so many ways, this property exceeded our group's expectations. The house was perfect for our large group of guys. We were looking for a place that could comfortably sleep everyone, and provide enough space both indoors and outside, so that no matter what the weather was like, we'd still enjoy ourselves. The house was very clean and check-in/check-out were a breeze! The owners live on the property in a separate guest house which worked out perfectly. They were a phone call away if we needed anything, and greeted us with beers and a friendly tour of the property. Everyone had such a great time that we're already talking about making it a tradition and going back!

  • We really enjoyed everything huge living room with a great fireplace. Take your sound system you blast the roof off its great with outdoor fire pit and also you can request clay shooting with shotguns really fun

  • We had a great time at this place. Jody and Rebecca were very facilitating and always available during our stay. Great place with lots of amenities and perfect for accomodating larger groups.

  • The Stuyvesant Manor was great. My office went here for a work retreat and it was a very comfortable and clean stay. Jody was there to meet us and gave us a tour of the house right when we arrived and he was available to us if we needed anything. There was a lot of room for us to split up if we needed to and also enough room for all of us to sit together and do our activities.

    Kelly2016-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome and more than I expected. We had 12 guys and this house accommodated us perfectly! We had plenty of room inside and out and the kitchen had plenty of options for us to cook for every meal. The game room is an great option, and well used! Thanks for the great place and some awesome memories for me and my friends!

    Andy2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a group of 9 people staying here, and there was almost too much space for us to handle! It took us an hour to debate which room would go to which couple, with most of the huge rooms having grand bathrooms and private balconies. Everything looked fairly modern and clean, so the hosts are maintaining the property very well. I cannot wait to come back here in the winter, and make use of the the fireplaces.

Enjoy miles of country roads for walking and biking and our nine acres through meadows and woods on mowed paths. Guests have access to an Adirondack style cottage overlooking a pond. Close to numerous restaurants, galleries, antique shops and cultural activities. This property is good for couples, a group of friends and families (including children).

The living room has a gas fired wood stove. The house is surrounded by spacious lawns, meadows and woodlands with mowed paths. The house, built in the late 1800's, is a short walk to the Hudson River. At the river, a park has a boat launch for kayaks and canoes. The property is close to several dairy and organic farms. The town's quiet nature is ideal for walking or biking the surrounding roads with a park for younger children a short walk down the road. We are approximately 15 minutes to Hudson and Chatham and 5 minutes to Kinderhook. The Berkshires, Catskill (including several ski locations) and Saratoga, NY are all within an hours drive.
  • Enchanting Airbnb. Charmed by the comforting attention to details. Deb anticipated and beautifully delivered a relaxing 2 days for our party of four adults. We explored a couple of nearby towns and also just sat and stared at this gorgeous property from the pond house dock. Generous and tasty breakfast supplies, comfy cozy linens, spotless housekeeping. A+

  • My husband and I, together with my daughter and her boyfriend and my brother and his wife, enjoyed a wonderful stay and Pond Side R&R. It's a charming, beautiful place and the hosts were most welcoming. We enjoyed the beauty of the surroundings and had several breakfasts and happy hours out on the pond dock. The kitchen is very well equipped and we prepared many meals over the five days we were there. We live across the country from one another, and this was a perfect spot for us to visit with one another. We enjoyed hiking in the Catskills and visiting Hyde Park and Olana, all within easy driving distance (an hour or less). Hands down, we all enjoyed our stay a great deal!

    Janice2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We (my parents, two teenagers, and myself) had a wonderful stay at Debbie's Pond Side R&R. The house was just the right size for us, beautifully equipped and appointed (very well-equipped kitchen, interesting art and objects, comfortable + handsome furnishings, wonderful linens on beds and in bathrooms, thoughtful breakfast supplies). It's on a lovely rural road, lots of peace and quiet. We were attending a wedding in Kinderhook and it was a quick 5 minute drive or 4 mile walk. Because we were in and out with the wedding events we didn't make as much use of the pond-side deck as we otherwise would have but it's a wonderful spot, esp (in summer) in the early morning and evening. Highly recommended by all. Thanks, Debbie!

    Lucy2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely place to stay in the upper Hudson Valley. The house is so cute and stocked with everything you need. The pond and pond house are the perfect respite. Debbie is a wonderful, kind host.

    Amelia2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This airbnb was the perfect place to use as a base to explore the Hudson Valley. The property is very clean and well equipped and beautifully maintained (the pictures don't do it justice!). It's great for groups of friends. We especially enjoyed using the fire pit! We'll definitely be back!

    Fiona2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie and Mike are the most hospitable hosts I've ever encountered. Not only is their property cozy and idyllic (perfect for our group of 6), but they ensured that any and all needs were taken care of and then some. The pond house was a perfect gathering place to dine and unwind and our only regret was that we didn't have more time to enjoy everything the property and area had to offer. Cannot wait to return!

  • Such a wonderful and unique stay and experience for our family. We were made to feel welcome and free in their home and property. Our 5 yr old was a little skeptical of the animals at first but by the end of our vacation they were the highlight of his trip.

    Derek2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The four of us loved staying overnight in this beautiful old house on this old-fashioned European-style livestock farm, set amidst wooded hills--a gorgeous setting with easy access to the sightseeing sites along the Hudson River. Good to have full use of kitchen, bucolic roads for walking and running, relaxing places to hang out outdoors on the porches. Host Brent is a wonderful guy (and it sounds like Alessandro is too), funny and kind and generous with his time. Minor shortcomings with amenities notwithstanding, a great air bnb site for those who like to be a little outside of the conventional rat-race setting. I'd stay there again for sure, and would hope to stay longer next time.

    Scott2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Their farm is amazing and Brentt is the best host on planet earth. Love every stay.

    anna2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The farm was delightful! Peaceful and restful. Brent was engaging and welcoming.

    Ellen2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house sits on a side road of a side road so the only sounds you'll hear are the chickens, cows, and goats. The property is beautiful, with flowers and romantic views galore. The property is a working farm that produces and sells super delicious cheese. My friends and I left with half the store so be sure to taste some samples. Brent-- the owner, was incredibly warm and welcoming and has a super fascinating life story: American dairy farmer goes to Tuscany and ends up running a successful cheese empire. Yes, there is a novel in there somewhere. The listing isn't 100% clear on the the number of beds, so I would strongly recommend checking before booking if you are in a group or a family with children and don't want to be left scratching your head where to put people upon your arrival. Note, there are no couches or pull out sofas. The owners reside in the lower level of the house, but do provide access to the kitchen and living room.

    Nina2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing experience staying with Brent at his farmhouse! We spent the 4th of July weekend upstate with another couple, and this cheese farm was such a neat treat. There are baby goats, baby calves, baby pigs, baby chicks, and baby rabbits on this full-functioning small farm (along with their parents, of course). I got to see firsthand how Brent milks his cows and goats, and we even got to try some fresh, homemade cheese. The second day, we went hiking through a beautiful 3.5-4 mile hike through their property and a little beyond to a road that loops back to the house. Along this hike (Brent drew us an expertly crafted map), we found wild edible mushrooms, sighted countless birds, and foraged and ate wild blackberries, raspberries and blueberries! That night, the four of us went to Hi-Way, the local drive in movie theatre; a new experience for all of us. It was awesome! We double featured with Terminator Genysis and Jurassic World. He was such a generous host and gave us full run of the kitchen so we could prepare the food we had brought for breakfasts and dinners. He even provided us with fresh zucchini and kale from his garden! We had a great stay. Thanks, Brent!

    Manini2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time at Alessandro and Brent's farm. The rooms are side by side and are like a separate unit with a door. The Place is outstanding. Alessandro and Brent are wonderful hosts. They took us around the farm to see the animals and showed us their cheese operation. Such an inspiring trip. Thank you Alessandro and Brent!

    Anat2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely spot! Beautifully restored farmhouse with remarkable wide pine floors. We had a lovely hike up through the woods. The hosts were remarkably accommodating. Excellent food, impeccably clean. And how nice to wake up to the ducks quacking! Loved it!

  • Great place and very gracious host!

    Robin2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such an extraordinary place. A very old house full of light & space, with a warm lovely heart & soul. The photos don't really show its homey character. I was afraid it might be chilly and severe (like a museum, don't touch or even laugh) but it's not at all. Robert left fabulous purple-red roses on the table, and was kind and helpful when we had small needs during our 4-day stay. We felt lucky to stay here - the artworks and drawings, the fully stocked kitchen, the gardens, the enormous trees, the very comfy livingroom and beds, the excellent heating system, and most of all the welcoming spirit made us forget the terrible week we'd left behind in NYC.

    Pamela2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Bobby’s country loft is a perfect getaway for city people like us who love art and cooking. The space is filled with artwork and the kitchen is fully equipped The surrounding garden has many corners to relax and meditate. We loved walking along the country road full of corn fields and a few cow farms, but very few cars. Bobby is a host that you would want to invite to join for breakfast or BBQ. He is full of interesting life stories but he will give you total privacy if you prefer. We love this house and plan to go back when we can!

    Daniel2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, quirky, art-filled house in a beautiful location. Robert is very responsive and has great recommendations for local restaurants. Overall a great place to stay. We stayed here in the fall, so the working fireplace was a great feature to create a cozy atmosphere.

    Nicholaus2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's cottage is very sweet -- perfect for a couple on a weekend getaway. The furnishings are quite comfortable and the decor is "quirky" (to use Robert's word); in short, the place has a lot of personality. The beds are great and the kitchen has everything you need, with very nice cookware and dishes; towels and linens are high quality. (Note: no bathtub, just a standup shower). TV and channels were a bit tricky to figure out, but all the basics there: a nice widescreen and a great couch to watch from. The porch and garden are wonderful, and there is so much to do in the neighborhood. Robert was very responsive to questions and check-in was a breeze. Do be aware that this property does feel "lived in" -- less anonymous than some rentals, but in exchange you get a nice place with real personality.

    Ezra2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Robert's beautiful home. The place is comfortable, warm, and decorated with care yet totally homey. The building is striking -- I liked the coziness of the bedroom downstairs and the open, airiness of the main room. The loft was great for reading and relaxing. We enjoyed spending each morning drinking coffee on the front porch, and the kitchen was great for making dinner each night. I really liked the lived-in feel of the place, as well. You could tell it was someone's home, from the art on the walls to the items in the pantry. Robert made us feel welcome from the beginning. He was responsive to all our questions, and left out a tray of coffee and snacks so we could settle right in for the weekend. Stuyvesant was great too, only 20 minutes to Hudson yet removed enough to feel like a retreat of its own. We'd definitely stay again.

This apartment is located in a bucolic country setting, set back from the road on a 15 acre property. A large yard with a fire pit is available with stunning Catskill Mountain views and sunsets. Great for nature lovers ! It has a separate entrance and is a few minutes away from historic and charming Kinderhook village. It has been furnished by an interior designer largely with vintage furniture and accessories from close by Hudson's antique shops.
The interior is decorated in an eclectic style: combining modern, vintage and antique furniture.
The neighborhood is very rural with a horse farm, dairy farm and Samascott Orchards close by. The Hudson River is a beautiful bike-ride away and walks alongside the River evoke a pre-civilization landscape. For those seeking culture: Seven car minutes away from the farm you can visit the Jack Shainman Gallery in Kinderhook. The friendly village of Kinderhook offers quite a few historic mansions and old farm houses, like Martin van Buren's (8th President of the USA) "Lindenwald", the Van Alen House and the Vanderpoel House. Further away you find Olana, Clairmont and the Thomas Cole house. Historic Hudson is 20 minutes away and offers fine dining, galleries and vintage/antique shopping. Art Omi is in the vicinity as well with many culture and art events. Kinderhook has a new Restaurant for foodies now: "The Flammerie", with a "Biergarten" featuring Bavarian specialties among other things . And there is a lovely wine bar in an old townhouse called "Dyad". During the summer every Saturday morning you find a farmer's market in the main square.
  • Our stay was everything we had hoped for, and more. Barbara was a fantastic host--attentive and accommodating. The place is such a gem--so carefully and beautifully designed. It almost felt like it was our own personal hideaway. Far enough to be secluded, yet close enough for a quick drive into the small town. Thank you, Barbara. It was perfection.

    Zak2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, quiet rural setting, ideal for time away from life's pressures, located on a farm, with picturesque views all around. There's a large kitchen with a regular-sized refrigerator, a glass-top stove, and plenty of storage room. We were surprised at the large size of the apartment. The beds were very comfortable, and the electric baseboard heating worked well. (Who would have thought we'd need to turn on the heat in June!) Located outside a historic village, there are plenty of interesting tourist destinations in the village and environs. We had a wonderful time, and have recommended Barbara's place to friends.

    Nancy2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • This wonderful hideaway was a perfect little, remote cottage with beautiful decoration and the perfect balance of amenities to make you feel comfortable. Barbara was communicative and welcoming. Highly recommend!

  • Due to my own schedule of events I was not actually able to meet with Barbara, in person, during my stay at her AirBnB. However, Barbara was timely and responsive in communicating via AirBnB messages. The space is in a beautiful and private setting, clean, quiet, and tastefully furnished. Would definitely stay there again.

  • This private apartment looks just like it is presented in the photographs. The style is soothing and comfortable and the location is so picturesque. My family and I wanted a rural place that allowed us the freedom to be outside and enjoy our time together. Barbara's place did just that. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well equipped with all the things we needed to cook. We especially loved being able to have a campfire right in the backyard! We really felt like we were on vacation!

    Laura2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place was perfect for a quick weekend in (URL HIDDEN) was a 5 minute drive to the house I grew up in and was so spacious!! If you don't mind warm summer breezes, this is the place for you! I'm a bit too reliant on air conditioning, so if you are like me and like to sleep in a crypt, you might struggle a bit. I'm looking forward to future visits as the location was perfect, the place was quiet, and my baby slept through the night here!!

  • Brent, the on-site host, was marvelously welcoming and fun, and we had a great time. The house is rustic and welcoming, and the sprawling farmland a nice break from our city life. Small town just 15 minutes down the road for supplies and food. The well water is still fairly sulfuric, but an ample supply of bottled water was provided. The bathrooms are remarkably modern, which was nice. Very satisfied with our stay.

  • We had a lovely quiet night staying at this historic stone farm house. Everything was clean and comfortable. Brent was a friendly host and we loved being welcomed into the yard with a group of waddling ducks making their way across the drive to the pond!

  • Great peaceful place to stay. With a great host. Beautiful clean and welcoming farm. Brent is a great guy and great farmer. In our short stay he gave us a tour of the farm, we learned some pointers and are looking foward to visiting again!

  • Lime Kiln Farm offers a truly magical and authentic farm stay experience. Brent was extremely welcoming and the 1700's farmhouse is beautifully restored and beyond charming. We weren't able to meet Alessandro as he was in Italy, but look forward to returning sometime soon!

  • This farm is a special place. We immediately felt at home, and were invited to visit the two baby goats who had been born the day before. Later that afternoon, as we returned from a walk around the grounds, we got to see a calf who had just been born. The owners are incredibly kind and generous with their time. Can't wait to come back--whether you want to make this farm your getaway destination for a weekend, or you just need a place to stay, I can't recommend it enough. Thanks!

  • Alessandro was very communicative and friendly. We absolutely loved the house, it was so simple, rustic, and very clean. Great bathroom! We loved the farm animals and exploring the grounds. Hope one day we will be back again, and for longer than one night. Loved the dogs too!

There is a stacked washer/dryer in the bathroom along with an iron and ironing board. The bathroom is stocked with towels and basic toiletries. There is a stand-up shower only, no bath tub.
The apartment is located in Valatie, only 3 minutes from the local shopping plaza which has a grocery store, liquor store, Italian restaurant, CVS, Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's and a family restaurant. Less than 10 minutes away is the village of Kinderhook, a quaint town with historical homes, several eateries (bagel shop, wine bar, German restaurant), a pick-your-own farm open seasonally and The School (a large art gallery owned by Jack Shainman). For families visiting, there are 3 playgrounds all within 10 minutes drive. There is also the Hudson Firemen's Museum (20 min drive) which has lots of kids activities. Several local libraries offer story time and kids activities throughout the week. Samascott Orchards in Kinderhook offers fruit and vegetable picking June - October and a corn maze in the fall and is very family-friendly. Mac-Haydn Theather in Chatham (15 min drive) offers several children's plays in the summer. The city of Hudson is 20 minutes by car and has dozens of shops, restaurants and is well-known for its antique shops. The village of Chatham is 15 minutes by car and is smaller than Hudson, but also has a great walking street with restaurants and shops.
  • Beautiful sunny apartment, close to a variety of Hudson valley attractions. Easy check in and check out. Up to date local happening suggestions.

  • Beautiful, spacious well-appointed apartment. The gardens were lovely and well cared for. We didn't get to meet Kayla but she was easy to reach by text. She also left us a useful list of things to do in the area, along with directions. Apartment was about 3 miles from a shopping center and various restaurants. We had a relaxing time and would stay there again if in the area.

    Samuel2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late and on the table waiting for us were a vase of will flowers, recently picked apples and a bottle of wine. The property and apartment were better than the photos. Kayla made us feel very at home and was available if we needed her. She gave us a list of suggested places to visit and places to eat and shop. The area is beautiful with lots to do. I hope we get to stay there again.

  • What a wonderful home and hostess. Thank you to Kayla and her family for their warm welcome to their charming and amazing property. We had a blissful and relaxing week - just what we were seeking! Thank you!!

  • Beautiful apartment with lovely furnishings. Very clean and quiet in a pretty garden. A bottle of wine and cherries were waiting for us and a list of local amenities and attractions. Really great place to stay. The host was a pleasure to deal with and made it a seamless experience. It was our first time using AirBnB. Not our last.

    June2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect for a small family and we enjoyed reading the books and playing with the toys Kayla provided. The property also gave us plenty of room to run around. The location is quiet and peaceful, but within range of several towns in the Hudson Valley, Berkshires, and Catskills.

    David2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, 2 month old infant, and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay. Kayla was very informative, prompt with responses/contact, and thoughtful. She even offered to set up a pack n play so we didn't need to pack our own in the car for the weekend trip! The apartment was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Kayla’s over the Independence Day weekend. It is in a great location being right down the road from Kinderhook, and close enough for a country drive to Hudson, Chatham, and all of the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley. Kayla's property and the grounds are serene and picturesque, truly beautiful and breathtaking. The apartment was perfect and was very nicely prepared for us and our 13 month old. Kayla did a great job designing the living space -- beautiful furniture, luxurious linens and bedding, blackout curtains (we ALL slept great, even our daughter!), the decor. There were so many very sweet and thoughtful touches for our arrival like a bowl of freshly picked blueberries, an assortment of books and toys for our daughter to play with, and a pack and play already setup in the bedroom for our little one. We were just overwhelmed and felt at home immediately. We’ve done AirBnB several times in the past, and this one really stood out as the example of how exceptional and amazing the experience can be. We were also so glad to have the opportunity to meet Kayla and her lovely family-they are all very friendly and so kind. Well done Kayla! We’ll be back!!!

Our lovingly maintained carriage house is light & bright, having full kitchen, dining & living areas, with a wood stove. The cozy bedroom and private bathroom add to the space, offering a wonderful farm experience or a simple country life retreat.
Fairland Farm is located on County Route 21, Kinderhook, 20 min. from Hudson, NY and 2.5 hrs from NYC. Fairland Farm produces organic vegetables, and is located in scenic Columbia County - the gem of upstate New York.
Both the Village of Kinderhook and the greater Town of Kinderhook offer a variety of eateries, small shops, and roadside farm stands, as well as the expected, and more familiar, retail establishments such as grocery stores, banks, churches, and car repair shops. However, Kinderhook is a rural community with a multitude of working farms and you should expect, during growing season, to see and smell, all that entails.
  • William and Hannah are amazing hosts! Their property is stunning and well-maintained. This was our favorite rental ever. By far!!!!

    Caitlin2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious and very family friendly. Would highly recommend for those looking to spend time in the area, especially if you are just looking for a weekend in a private area but still close to enough things for entertainment or necessities.

    Dennis2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice apartment in a carriage house on a working farm. The apartment is separate from the main house and is a one flight walk up. Small bedrooms but a good-sized living room with an eat-in kitchen. Friendly host. Beautiful pool and stunning sunsets every night.

    Bruce2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and his wife went above and beyond. Not only were they responsive to any question we had, they thought of everything to make their carriage house feel like a home-fresh flowers, plenty of snacks, milk, juice and muffins ready for breakfast the next day and fresh veggies picked right from their garden. The space was ideal and very manageable with a toddler. The property is stunning and the pool is beautiful. Highly recommend and would definitely go back!

    Kitty2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this air bnb is outstanding. It was worth it just for the scenery but Bill and his wife Heather made our stay magical. The carriage house has all you need and then some - muffins, milk, oj, 1/2 and 1/2, AND dark chocolate!! The furnishings are all comfy, great air conditioning and the pool with pool house (has extra bathroom!!) was icing on the cake. Only slight downside were the rather steep stairs but definitely workable.

    NANCY2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The property is beautiful, and William is an excellent host.

    Nathan2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at William's carriage house was absolutely fantastic. The house itself was immaculate and they furnished the place with fresh flowers, snacks and light groceries. The pool is the point and a great thing to have, although it needs to be skimmed daily. William and his family to make use of the pool but stay out of sight for the most part. He's a great host, extremely attentive and helpful. The property is easy to find and near a huge grocery store, CVS, wine shop, etc. but you feel totally removed. Ultimately, I'd highly recommend it!

    E2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in William's carriage house. He was available to help with anything and communicating with him was very easy. The area is beautiful and the house was a very good base for us where we could cook for ourselves. Much better than a hotel!

  • Rreally nice place and friendly people!

    Martina2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • I will definitely want to stay here again! It was perfect for a couple and the fire pit in the tent was amazing to have. I loved how private the setting was.

    Rebecca2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it!!

    Catharine2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The experience was great. The fire in the tipi is something really different, me and my wife had barbecue and slept in a very warm and cosy tipi. It was an experience. Thank you!

    Paul2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great morning view! We loved the space and would definitely recommend. Even though it rained during the night we stayed warm and dry and were still able to enjoy a fire outside. I'd be happy to come back!

    Riley2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • wonderfully designed and super cozy

    Haik2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This experience was not what we expected based on its listing. Ultimately the disappointment came from the state of the tipi. It was INFESTED with spiders and daddy long legs as well as a number of other insects, to the point where they were falling all over us, and even after burning a fire in the fire pit for about 5 hours (per the owner's suggestion) there were an overwhelming number of insects in the tipi so we elected to sleep in our car instead for the night with our dog. It wasn't comfortable for the three of us. What this place has going for it is a beautiful view and it's secluded. It has a lot of potential, but as it was,

  • Jason did everything he could to make us feel comfortable. We had a great time despite landing a rainy weekend. Tipi is unique and the grounds are beautiful. Great getaway from the city.

We are the last house on a dead end road. There is a amazing view of Thatcher Park and the surrounding mountains.
  • Beautiful location. Half hour drive to Albany. Gorgeous views and grounds. Comfy bed. Sofa / futon pretty impossible to sit on as is sunken but who wants to be inside with those views anyways? For a donation joined for dinner and it was delicious. Would stay again. My only complaint was that the bed whilst comfy could use an airing. But for the money was great!

  • It's a magical spot to be, with decor and furnishings that feel like you're in a fairy tale. It was great to be amidst the bustle of the farm and watch the farm animals. The ducks were my favorite, and they would visit me daily on the patio. Come relax, unwind, and rejuvenate!

Built 10 yrs ago. Sits on 19 secluded acres of woodland w beaver pond, canoe and trail. About 2.5 hours from Manhattan. It's wonderfully comfortable & quiet--interrupted only by symphonies of nature. 3 comfortable bdrms w 2.5 baths, large living room/dining area w screen porch & large rear deck. TV rm in basement w double fouton/sofa. Central heat/ac, woodstove to make cool nights cozy. Hot tub and shower outside. The house is all recycled or renewable materials. Wifi & directv.
Set on a quiet country road with no neighbors in site. Summer vegetable garden off the large screen porch. 3/4 mile woodland trail along 20 acre pond. Hear nothing but the birds and wind. Beautiful skies at night. Seasonal stream and waterfall. Benches at beautiful spots in the woods. It's a corner of woodland paradise.
It's a quiet country road, with house set back from the road down a curving drive. The two mile road has only a few homes, including an old farm with beautiful fields and barns. There's an historic cemetery just down the road for exploration. Quiet roads for walking and biking. Beautiful Alcove Reservoir is 3 miles away. All amenities are less than 10 miles away in Greenville or Coxsackie.
  • The "Holler" is an excellent place to stay if you're looking for rest and relaxation. Plentiful screened windows and doors leave the airy home cool on hot summer days, while the hot tub and outdoor shower (with hot water) will keep you cozy on cool mountain nights. The property is secluded and private, but easily accessible to fun activities nearby (a hike to a waterfall, apple picking on an orchard, shopping in quaint small towns). We were a party four guests, but the home is spacious and can comfortably accommodate six. The "Holler" is a truly special place and we can't wait to return in the autumn and see the grounds in full fall foliage. The home and its responsive hosts come highly recommended!

In six years of hosting, we have welcomed and continue to welcome guests of all nationalities, ethnicities, and orientations. We are also always honored to welcome children with special needs, and to do what we can to make the weekend enjoyable and satisfying for both the children and their families.
We are pleased to introduce a bonus feature of our farm stay: free hour-long needle-felting workshops using our own wool. A great crafts for ages 5 and up. Lots of fun and so lovely to work with wool by a window looking out over the very sheep who provided the wool... Small materials fee ($5/kit). ******************************************************** Come enjoy life on a farm, just 2.5 hours from NYC! Guests to our farm stay get the best of farming, enjoying visits with our goats and sheep, and getting to know our friendly, adorable ponies. Children can look for eggs, take a riding lesson on our adorable Shetland pony (for an extra fee), and snack on treats in the garden. We have a wooded nature walk on the property, with access (by appointment) to a kayak and a canoe to take out on our wide, sprawling creek. We offer tours to our guests to meet the animals, see the garden, and visit with the animals. The sunny 2-bedroom cottage is in a renovated barn on 4 acres of pasture, creek, and woods, adjacent to the owners' 10-acres. Look outside the windows and you'll see ponies and sheep grazing in the pasture, and, quite likely, a flock of heritage-breed chickens happily free-ranging. The apartment is fully furnished and comes with everything you need, including a fully-outfitted kitchen, towels, pillows, 100% cotton bed sheets, and blankets. Everything is recently renovated: new appliances, including a gas stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. Also new bathroom, and new pine floors. Each bedroom (a smaller and a larger) contains a queen-sized bed with a cotton futon mattress. Additionally, there is a queen-sized futon mattress in the loft, and a futon-couch in the living room. The living room and kitchen are in one large room, and are separated by a round farmhouse-style oak table and chairs. Up a sturdy farm ladder is the loft, equally suitable for playing on rainy days, or for creating a third sleeping area. For winter getaways, there is a woodstove by the kitchen, and a woodpile by the driveway. Outside of the apartment there is a lawn area with a fire pit and a Weber grill, perfect for grilling and relaxing. The lawn looks out, to one side, on the ponies' pasture. Here, two Shetland ponies are grazing, as is our Nubian goat herd, who would love for you to come and pet them, and maybe feed them your apple cores. Meanwhile, straight ahead and down a small hill, there is a pony paddock, and a stable. Our farm stock changes steadily, but there are always chickens and our extremely popular free-range bunnies, Juliet and Promise. Sometimes, depending on the season and the year: turkeys, ducks, chicks, pigs, lambs and goat kids. There is also a private garden for the exclusive use of the cottage guests. One of the highlights of this rental is that guests can take part in the farm activities. Guests are encouraged to look for eggs, and to enjoy a dozen eggs per weekend (if the hens are laying; in the winter they slow down on their egg-laying). Guests may also pet the goats, hold baby chicks when we have them, and pet the goat kids when we have them. This rental is very family-friendly, and we have seen that children especially have a fabulous time visiting with our animals and taking part in farm life. It is a really wonderful thing to see a city child helping to round up the chickens, or gently holding the chicks, or picking green beans and tomatoes from the garden. There are also trails through the woods, and a creek where our local wild population a heron, wood ducks, and beavers can often be spotted. We offer self-guided tours and scavenger hunts through the woods and farms for children. We also always supply a list of local food producers where you can buy meat, eggs, milk, cheese, soap, honey, etc. We are located in Earlton, NY, a tiny hamlet that is about 10 minutes from Greenville and Coxsackie. In either of these towns you can find grocery stores, libraries, banks, etc for all your town needs. We are also less than 10 minutes from Boehm Farm, a family-run pick-your-own apple and peach orchard. Also 10 minutes to Greenville's incredible town park, which has several miles of wooded trails along stone walls and a river. Further west, we are 45 minutes to Catskill National Park, including the world class skiing resorts, Windham and Hunter Mountains. In addition to skiing and snow-tubing, the Catskills offer spectacular outdoor destinations such as Kaaterskills Falls and North-South Lake, and other attractions such as Zoom Flume, a fabulous water park. 30 minutes south is the historic, artsy City of Hudson, a destination in itself. Here, you'll find an eclectic mix of antique shops that are almost like curated museums; wonderful restaurants like DaBa (inventive Swedish cuisine using locally sourced foods) and Baba Louie's (sourdough pizza and family-style salads), and amazing coffee shops like Rev. From May through October, there is a lot of food trucks. Our family (two adults, a 16-year old boy and a 12-year old girl) lives next door to the cottage, on an adjacent 10 acres. We are available to help with any questions, and to show you around the farm during appointed times-- or to leave you to enjoy your privacy if you prefer. One thing to note: although the inside of the apartment is newly renovated, the outside of the apartment still has vinyl siding (restoring the outside is a future project!), and the downstairs basement and the barn next door are not part of the rental. Also, this is an old-fashioned country retreat; there is no wifi or television, although smartphones usually work. And we do keep some dvd's on hand for guests who've brought a laptop. Keep up with our farm happenings on the usual social media platforms!
Beautiful rural area in the Hudson Valley, at the foot of the Catskill Mountains.
  • We had a great weekend stay here! Larissa was a lovely host; she introduced us to all their animals and spent some time just chatting with us. The house is cozy and warm, so much so that we didn't mind that it was too cold for our planned Catskills hike. We ended up walking around Hudson and just stayed in, cooked, and hung out by the fireplace, which was lovely.

  • We had a fantastic time at the Farm Stay this weekend! The cottage was equipped with everything we needed, and the beds were very comfortable. For city folk like us, waking up to the rooster crowing was a real treat. We loved the relaxation this weekend afforded us - playing cards and barbecuing to taking long walks in the nearby Catskills. Larissa was incredibly helpful and very available - she lent us the grill for the evening, gave driving directions and tips for navigating the area, and even let us take home some farm-ripened zucchini! The cottage was exactly as pictured and very clean. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great weekend!

  • We had so much fun at the farm over Thanksgiving week-end ! We loved the pony ride, feeding the animals, petting the bunnies (and some of the chickens !), laughing at goats and sheeps jumping and looking at dogs and cats running around. We also really enjoyed the craft activity with the wool : carding, needle felting, sewing ... The cottage is comfortable and cozy. Larissa and her family were very welcoming and patient with our 4 daughters. We can't stop thinking of our next stay in Spring !

  • Stay was excellent , the place has everything you need for a cozy weekend in the country. We stayed there in dec, kept warm with the fire place. We did not miss anything , perfect size kitchen to cook your meals. Nice stroll through the farm, and most adorable ponies:)

  • What an absolutely lovely stay we have had at Larissa's farm stay. We got everything we wanted - fresh air, fresh produce and all the space for our two year old to rub around. Larissa and her family are super friendly and their extended family of chickens, ponies, goats and sheep are equally welcoming. Couldnt recommend this place enough especially if you are looking for a rustic escape from the city and wanting to try your hand at living a farm life.

    Anshu2015-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the farm stay! Our two girls ages 3 and 5 were in such bliss running around, feeding the animals, looking for eggs and exploring the property. Larissa and Dan (her father-in-law who was visiting) were warm and welcoming and her daughter was very sweet with our girls. The home was rustic, airy and comfortable. It's sits up on a small hill and you get a sweet view of the land and the animals. There's also a fire pit that we roasted marshmallows and enjoyed early evening talks by the fire. A big highlight were the two ponies-- our oldest received daily riding lessons and our 3 year old enjoyed shorter pony rides. It was such a good experience for our city girls! We went on two awesome nearby hikes to Kaaterskill Falls and a river hike in Greenville (both mentioned in Larissa's notebook of ideas to do in the area.) Larissa recommended a lovely and delicious stop on the way to the falls called Circle W General Store. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

    Sarah2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was such lovely experience for our family. Our 2.5 year old loved being on the farm and meeting all of the animals. Larissa was so kind patient, she spent more time with us then she needed to and made the extra effort for our daughter to interact with the animals. Our day started with painting (this was left out for us by the host) with the roosters in the background, a tour of the farm, and some fresh eggs that we made for breakfast. We then drove 5 minutes to apple picking, spent the rest of the day in Hudson (30 min drive) and then back for a sunset marshmallow roast. The apt was lovely, quaint and clean. We hope to make this an annual visit!

    Marc2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing weekend at the farm! We loved it! We were able to pickup tomatoes, onions, basil, and eggs. My daughters loved to be so close to the animals! Dan (Larissa's father in law) gave us a tour of the farm, it was really interesting; Dan is really nice and made our trip even better!

    Sweet Farm Stay
    128 reviews
Circa 1804 is the perfect Hudson Valley farmhouse retreat and vacation home. Set on the site of a historic farm settled 1804 by Stephen Truesdell Jr, the original colonial home and barns have been restored using salvaged period materials, most of which came from the property itself. A true chefs kitchen, radiant heat flooring in the bathroom and master bedroom with remote climate control units throughout (AC/Heat) are the perfect combination for enjoying a historical home in true comfort.
Exposed hand hewn beams, original wideboard floors, clawfoot tub, carrera marble bathrooms and massive exposed brick fireplace compliment the antique furniture throughout the home. The farm property, barns, winding creek, evergreens and massive willows provide year round stunning views. Enjoy walking our trails, reading a book in the woodland areas on a deck, or dipping in the creek's swimming hole...when guests get here they have little need to go elsewhere. Want to venture out? Just a short drive you are surrounded by the Hudson Valley's best in hiking, biking, shopping, dining, antiquing and more!
Our favorite places to go and things to do are just minutes away! Get yourself to Reed Street for an afternoon of fun. Sitting on the deck overlooking the Hudson River sipping french press yerba mate (or coffee or your choice!) at the Yellow Deli Cafe along with enjoying a home baked treat is a must! Pop into the Reed Street Bottle Shop next to check out their very hip mix of alcohol and wines...and next off to their sister shop Pilot House Paper to pick out some super cool stationary and other gift items. Stop into the Tin Angel if you feel inspired by staying at a period home and want to bring a piece of that back with you...it’s a great shop for gift ideas for anyone who loves rustic/country items. Before leaving Reed Street your last stop should be the General Store where you can pick up all your favorites of wonderful breads/cheeses and specialty items. Swing back later for a nice evening out for dinner at Che' Figata. No stay at Circa 1804 is complete without a visit to our favorite local pub The Cask & Rasher, just a few minutes away on Mansion St. I can't decide between the Coxsackie Hot Chicken (think massive fried chicken pieces with homemade kimchi...order an extra side of kimchi;-), the Cojo Chicken Wings, or the Jacosauras Burger... all this with the best selection of IPA's, hard ciders and if your lucky a pear or peach cider, my personal favorites! We are blessed to have a host of amazing great places to eat...Red's, Quarry Steakhouse, Pegasus (summer/fall check out their outdoor wood fired BBQ pit which is award winning multiple times over), pizza at Paul's. Breakfast at Chrissy & Tim's will give you that true old school diner feel. Athens is a short drive and worth a stop into Rive Gauche, this place never disappoints for a great French dining experience (Sunday Brunch is amazing too). Bonfiglio & Bread has finally opened in Athens too which we are all VERY EXCITED about...B&B started in Hudson but recently decided to hop over the river to our side. If you like mushrooms the mushroom toast is delightful! Crossroads is another award winning brewery and has great food too. The Stewart House is right on the Hudson River and in season you can eat outside. If you are venturing 'south' on 9w Catskill is just 15 minutes away and has a thriving arts community, along with several great restaurants and shops. While traveling be sure to stop into Barbara's Country Treasures...the smell of the candles alone is comforting and worth a stop in! And be sure to check out the Drive In movie theater times (seasonally of course) ... there are so few of these gems left and we've got one that serves up 3 different screens so you're sure to find a double header movie you have been longing to see. If you are a true beer lover you MUST find your way (it's only a few miles) to Honey Hollow Brewery where you can sample at least 4 true small batch brewed ales and some great eats. If you time it right you can hit up Lime Kiln Farm, possibly during a cheese making class...or just simply to pop into this 500 acre farm to experience true farm life the way it used to be. NOTHING is more captivating than to see Brent leading the sheep and goats back to the barn and hearing the clinking of the bells...just puts a smile on your face. The cheese is pretty awesome too so pick up some of that and say hi to Brent and Alessandro for me;-) Did I mention antiquing? You've come to the right place...simply head north on 9w and you'll start hitting all the hot spots starting with the Coxsackie Antiques Center, Sister Salvage and many more...who needs Hudson and Hudson's notorious high prices? Well if you do .. that's ok as it’s just a 20 minute drive too;-) Lastly, what trip to the Hudson Valley is perfected without picking apples and eating an apple cider donut? We think you'll enjoy Bauhme Farm for that. In case it doesn't come across, yes we are passionately in love with where we live and what we are surrounded by every day...and we love sharing that even more with our guests so they too can make memories visit after visit after visit. Who could do all this in one trip after all~

Welcome to my unique art filled home. I hope you will find your bedroom comfortable soothing and simple. Nice cotton sheets And an Amazing mattress should let you sleep very well. The bath is also simple but nice. The house is set in an established garden of boxwood and lilac.
A 1820 saltbox renovated and added to sits on a quiet country lane in an established private garden in a little hamlet of Sharptown in the Town of Stuyvesant, in the upper Hudson Valley. 120 miles north or Manhattan.
The property is located between Hip Hudson and Capital city Albany. Convenient to either. A mile from the Hudson River Skiing is near by in Berkshires or Catskills. Amtrak goes to both from New York City.
  • Robert's place is a retreat, a refuge tucked away along a quiet country road in rural Stuyvesant, NY. It is surrounded by farmland and trees, with a lush and peaceful garden. The interior of the historic cottage is mostly original with an added loft, and is filled with a wide variety of artwork in myriad styles and forms. The furniture is also a unique collection of diverse and memorable pieces, yet which form a rather cohesive theme. The ambiance of the space is very relaxing, and the bed was obviously carefully curated with an extremely comfortable memory foam type mattress and both down and memory foam pillow options, with cotton sheets and duvet. The bathroom was very clean and nice as well. The living room space is wide open with a high ceiling and loft. The heat worked well with a nice modern Nest thermostat and central heat - a big plus for an older home. He also has a Sonos if you like some music, and an Apple TV for video watching. The kitchen is well stocked and is obviously a foodie's domain. The porch is large, sheltered and airy, an excellent place to relax. Overall, a memorable and relaxing place to stay. Robert was an excellent host, always available and helpful but never at all intrusive. We would gladly stay here again!

  • Pamela and her family were very warm and welcoming. The croom was fantastic and overlooked their beautiful backyard. The bed was extremely comfortable, wifi was easy to connect. I would definitely stay here again if we were passing through Albany. Only wish that we could have chatted more with Pamela and her family!

  • I had a wonderful stay at Pamela's place. Super quiet relaxing space. The place was super clean. I will definitely stay again the next time I'm in the area. Highly recommended!

  • Pamela's place is the perfect place to stay if you need privacy, a place to rest and relax (the beautiful patio) but is yet close to everything the tri-city area has to offer. It is set up like an apartment but has the added features of massage chair, ping-pong table, and a mini gym. Sweet!

  • Lovely, large, clean, peaceful, very comfortable and safe! We wanted to be near Albany, but not in it. The rural location, with easy access into the city, was perfect for us. It is very close also to Hudson Park on the river, as well as groceries, restaurants and shopping. The large basement apartment is a walk-out, with gorgeous garden views and plenty of windows. We had everything we needed.

  • Everything was great.

    Kendall 2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • A few miles south of Albany where the crickets were chirping in the evenings and the surroundings were quiet, semi-rural, very tranquil and safe. The room is the basement, so there's lots of space, a table, fridge and very nice bathroom. I unfortunately only got to see Pamela when I checked in, as I was there for work and that kept me busy until 9 every night, but she was very friendly and offered help with anything I needed. Parking is in the driveway and the internet was fast and stable. Very comfortable stay.

  • A group of 20 of us had a fantastic time staying at Jody's over Labor Day Weekend for our friends. First off, he was an incredible host and readily available to answer any questions we had about the house as well as activities to do outside the house. He also helped us find an incredible chef named Doug who cooked a fantastic meal for us one night at the house. The house has pretty much every activity someone can want - the game room is one of the cooler places to hang out. Finally, the setting on the lake is beautiful. Highly recommend it for large groups.

  • If you're looking for a spacious getaway from the city, a place to hang out with a large group of friends and/or family, or just a home full of activity and surprises, then look no further. Jody's house has everything you could possibly need and more for a weekend of relaxation and fun. The house is massive, but the real star is the game room. It is exactly as advertised: 1200 square feet of pure enjoyment, with everything from pool to poker to a stage and mic setup for karaoke. Our stay was during a rainy weekend and unfortunately we couldn't make use of the dock or batting cages but outdoor time would have just been the cherry on top. Jody was extremely helpful and responsive -- a perfect host! Although he couldn't meet us at the house he made sure we got a thorough walkthrough on the phone and checked in throughout the weekend to ensure everything was in working order. He also provided a welcome packet with all the important information about the house and the nearby town. We could tell it was important to him that we were having the best possible time! And we absolutely did.

  • We had a ton of fun at the Hudson Hideaway. We were there with a group of 14 people for a company retreat, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and have big shared meals (outside and inside). There was plenty of outdoor seating which was awesome for a large group. The fire pit was great!

    Charlotte2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jody's place was incredible! It's such a well thought out place with endless areas to hang out and have fun. Really the best experience we've had at a large rental home and Jody is such a pleasure to rent from and is super helpful.

    Josh2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We rented this amazing home for a bachelor party with 12 guys and loved it. Our original plan was to rent a cabin and go do activities around. Luckily this home had so many great things to do we never had to leave. From the party room with the poker table, karaoke machine, bar, pool table, ping pong table and foos ball to the outdoor spaces we were never bored. The out door setup was perfect for grilling, eating outside and bonding with all the guys. If you need a great place for a large group of people or family this is the perfect place.

    Alex2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • First and foremost, WOW! Jody's place looked wonderful from the pictures, but it is even better in person, and far exceeded our expectations. His home has every single thing you could possibly want: every single game, endless beds, a spectacular outdoors space, incredible views on the water, and so much more. Beyond that, Jody himself was incredibly kind and helpful. When we had difficulty finding a chef to cook for us while we stayed, he went above and beyond, researching and contacting several different options before passing them along to us. He is a very clear communicator, and had all the information we needed to know about using the home, unlocking the kayaks, working the DJ lights/Karaoke, etc. clearly stated for our convenience. When I say this house has everything, I really mean everything: air hockey, pool table, ping pong, poker table, tether ball, 3 kayaks, batting cage, trampoline with sprinkler attachment, croquet, mini basketball game, fire pit, and likely many more things I am forgetting. If you are considering this home for a special occasion or group get together, I can not recommend Jody's place highly enough. Since there was so much to do, and everything was so thoughtfully laid out, our weekend here was easy breezy with not a single issue. What a way to get away! Thank you so much, Jody!

  • My fiancé and I chose to have a combined prewedding party as opposed to a traditional bachelor/bachelorette party. There was more than enough space for everyone. The location was drivable for our east coast friends and others flew to the Albany airport. Jody was super helpful with recommendation and easily accessible. Our friends loved the kayaks, batting cage and volleyball court. We spent a lot of time outside grilling and by the fire pit. For hos who prefer indoors, the game room is also awesome and great for adults. We would absolutely recommend Jody's place with flying colors!
