The most appealing aspect of this room is the view. It is an elevated house and the deck is over the back garden which gives you a stunning view of the local mountains and sea. The room is comfortable and has a large bathroom en suite. There is a sofa bed in the room which sleeps 2 children comfortably and 2 adults with a squeeze. • Valerie's son welcomed us warmly and guided us through the details of this very attractive home. The accomodation itself is lovely, spacious and cosy. It has beautiful views from the window and balcony. The host herself is a charming person who loves meeting and chatting with her guests. The location is an ideal holiday base from which to explore County Wicklow, it's beautiful beaches and those rugged hills and verdant valleys, it's lakes and rivers, and pleasing towns and villages — a most beautiful county. It is well worth a visit.

My home (Glendruid) is in the Garden of Ireland - 10 minutes away from beautiful Glendalough with many walks with magnificent scenery. Close to family-friendly activities e.g. Clara Lara. Also near by is Roundwood home of many films e.g. Vikings, PS I love You, Excalibur, Animal Farm. You’ll love my place because of the location, an award-winning garden peaceful & quiet. A car is essential for getting around
I have a beautiful house with a double room / double bed available - with beautiful views of the mountains and trees. It is a very quite location where you can get away from it all and just relax. I have a beautiful garden and lovely areas to sit out and have an Irish cup of tea overlooking the valley and beyond. You won't be disappointed !!! A warm welcome guaranteed.
All the beautiful places to visit and see here..... Check out Glendalough, Luggala Essate - Laragh - Ashford (avoca handweavers) Many films made around here - Vikings / PS I love you / Excalibur etc...
  • What a lovely place! What a lovely host! Absolutely beautiful location! Marie made us feel so welcome and was just lovely! The accomodation was simply perfect! Couldn't have asked for better! Thank you Marie Katrina and Sue

  • Very warm and friendly host. A beautiful house and gardens,a great relaxing spot with lots of sightseeing nearby. Highly recommend.

    Lisa Marie2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t have expected the welcome we received from Marie! She made us a nice cup of tea, along with some cookies and chatted with us for awhile. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable! Her gardens are amazing and it was so very nice to walk the grounds when we woke up in the morning. Marie suggested a great place for dinner, and she was spot on! We would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.

    Tammi2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying the night at Marie's gorgeous house. We had a very warm welcome which followed by a chat with tea and the fire on. Marie was also very helpful with tips on dinner and Glendalough. Definetely recommend you stay with Marie.

  • We were warmly welcomed by Marie in her cozy home with lovely garden. She gave us good tips and the breakfast was delicious.

  • A spotlessly clean house in a beautiful location, very convenient for walks and sightseeing in the area. Marie was a very kind and hospitable host.

    Maureen2018-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Now where to begin? Marie was a gracious host, you wouldn't be making a mistake if you book a room in her beautiful home. She was so welcoming and kind, ready to help you in an instant. Our room was charming and had a balcony with a fabulous view. The garden is beautiful and is a great place to stroll around. She provided us with towels and a lovely spread for breakfast. Then she presented us with fresh homemade bread! Absolutely devine. Her son dropped us to and from Lara when we couldn't find a taxi. Lynhams of Lara was a great spot for top quality food, I've been dreaming about their venison sausage for weeks. You won't regret staying here and getting a chance to have a chat over a cuppa with Marie!

    Annamoe, Wicklow, Ireland

At the foot of Lugnaquilla Mountain, Aghavannagh Barracks offers a unique base for walking in the Wicklow hills or relaxing by the fire. The house has been carefully restored over the last seven years, with comforts such as log burners, wool carpets in the bedrooms and formal gardens. It is the perfect place for a weekend getaway and worth spending two nights here to fully appreciate the quietness and the space. Guests have their own bedroom, bathroom, breakfast room and sitting room.
Aghavannagh Barracks is a unique place to stay being the only Barracks on the Military Road with original layout and features. Once the shooting lodge of Charles Stuart Parnell it is now a comfortable family home. We are 1.5 km from the Iron Bridge on the Wicklow Way.
Aghavannagh is a very peaceful location, the perfect get away from busy cities. Ideal for relaxing in front of the fire with a good book. We are 25 minutes from Glendalough and a 90 minute drive from Dublin. There are many gardens near us also, Powerscourt, Mount Usher, Kilmacurragh and Altamont to name a few.
  • This was an unforgettable visit. I brought two American friends and an Irish friend for a brief visit and left them suitably amazed at the hospitality and natural beauty this part of Ireland has to offer. Here's what one of them had to say: "For an American's first visit to Ireland, we couldn't have picked a better place to stay than at the Aghavannagh Barracks, a lovingly restored and stunning former military barracks in the beautiful Wicklow Mountains. The place is astonishing - nestled amongst green hills, sheep, and gardens - and every attention to detail has been paid in its lovely restoration. It felt very magical, and in addition to that we had delightful hosts, Rory and Veronica. Rory led us up and over a wonderful hike of Lugnaquilla mountain and Veronica prepared a delicious breakfast each morning with homemade bread. Can't wait to go back." Amen to that

  • We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful historic building. Room was really neat and comfy, very nice breakfast and lovely scenery. Also, proper pub and pub food on 10min driving distance. Cannot recommend it enough! Enjoy!

    Luwe2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Words cannot do justice to the beauty of Aghavannagh house or the gracious hospitality of the hosts. All I can say is it was good for the soul to spend time there and I thoroughly hope to return.

    Emily2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in this historic barrack was truly an experience we will never forget! Its absolutely one of the best places we've experienced and only wish we had booked more time there. We greatly admire all of the hard work Veronica and Rory have done restoring the home and the gardens are breathtaking! The breakfast was wonderful and the bedroom was so comfortable. A definite must visit!!

    Stuart And Leslie2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Aghavannagh Barracks are one of the most unique and beautiful places you could ever possibly stay. In addition, Veronica is an amazing host who provided everything we needed and more. She and her husband Rory have done very impressive work in their renovations and preservation of the barracks. Be sure to spend some time around the outside of the barracks because the landscaping they have done is something that can't be missed. The room and bed were very nice and the view out of the window when you wake up is something you just won't find in many other places. Breakfast is in an equally remarkable room and was excellent. The drive into Aghvannagh from either direction is very scenic, and since both take about the same amount of time to travel on from Dublin it's worth taking each of them at least once. We really hope to be able to visit again some day!

    Erica2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly unique airbnb experience - - one that makes you feel as though you have stepped somewhere else in time. As a guest, you have a series of beautiful rooms to call your own during your stay. Our visit was in early November and so we spent our evening cozied by a fire in the sitting room with tea and biscuits. The bedroom was also warmed by a wood burning stove and cozy duvets which kept the fall chill at bay. And fruit and freshly baked bread from Veronica started our morning. The views are stunning and the location was perfect for a visit to Glendalough the next day. We loved our stay and Veronica could not have been a more warm or welcoming host.

    Lillian2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • We spent our last two nights in Ireland here and couldn't have picked a better location and host to stay with - they have done such an amazing job fixing up with place, making it so comfortable and welcoming to stay. We couldn't get over all the details and just felt so lucky to have found the listing. We also couldn't have asked for better hosts - from our initial greeting and tour, to the breakfast and help getting our wash done before moving on to our next country, to the suggestions on where to eat and best driving routes - we felt so well cared for! Thank you so much!

    Mike2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Aghavannagh Barracks, probably the most beautiful place to stay anywhere along the Wicklow Way. The historical house was simply impressive and so was the food, my room and the views. I also really appreciated the hospitality of Veronica, Rory and their family!

  • It was really nice to stay at this place if you search for a quite spot. The see is near and you can start a walk from there place where you can spot seals! If you are lucky with the weather a few little beaches are there to swim. Breakfast with a lot of fruit was very nice. The kids liked the dog, playing with their son and the chickens as well. We were lucky to see so much seals... It was nice to relax at this place after the busy Dublin. The rooms are big and there is a sitting room as well.

  • Lisa and Wayne are very welcoming hosts. The communication is easy. The house is beautiful, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious !! The area is very peaceful and pleasant, ideal to go hiking along the coast and in the Wicklow mountains. I warmly recommend !

    Sarah2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We (family of 4) had a great time at Rospark. The place has everything you can imagine for families! Lisa & Wayne are great hosts, they can give you a lot of tips to explore the beautiful garden of Ireland, there's even a self made travel brochure with addresses and personal notes! The room is quite spacious with an very comfortable bed and an own bathroom. The Wifi works very well and fast so we were able to use streaming services. Oh and one more thing ... please expect culinary treats on the highest level. You have different choices of breakfast every morning (you should definitely try the white pudding) and the eggs can be grabbed by yourself (our kids loved it) directly from the chicken coop behind the house. You can add extensive and very delicious dinner if you like which will be prepared by the chef himself, don't miss it! Oh and there is Vegemite! It was like visiting friends and we can thoroughly recommend Rospark. Thank you again Lisa & Wayne, it was a blast and see you!

  • Our stay at Judy's was really lovely and we had a great time. Judy was a fantastic hostess. She was very friendly and welcoming and she made us feel at home. Thanks to her we had a wonderful time. She gave us many ideas what to do and helped us pick the most interesting itineraries. Her recommendations were great! The room itself was very nice and lovely with a private bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Judy also made us Irish breakfast, which was simply delightful. It was a truly great experience!

    Rafał2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Judy was a great host! She takes the time to talk and explain a lot about the country she loves. Also the breakfast was great! Greetings from France!

    Emiel2014-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Judy was a very welcoming and friendly host. Her house is lovely and very well located, just 10 minutes away from Wicklow town. Judy shared with us a lot of interesting information about the area and we had a great breakfast and chat whith her. I truly recommend Judy's house for those who want to enjoy a peaceful weekend away from the city!

    Lorena2016-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Judy could not have been more helpful to me in many ways. Several times she described how to get there when I could not figure it out. She even helped me with some of my family research. Her place is very close to the shops; but be prepared, everywhere in Wicklow involves a hill of some sort. I would certainly go there again.

    Joyce2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • After staying in Dublin for 5 nights, I aimed to relax in Wicklow for 2. Judy was kind enough to pick me up at the train station and familiarize me with the town. She allowed me to use her kitchen to cook an inexpensive dinner, and shared a couple of hours chatting with me over wine. On the second day it rained from morning to night. Judy offered to drive me the pub and shared her dinner with me, as the pubs were not serving food at that hour. She finally dropped me off at the bus stop to the airport the final morning. The room was great. Judy was very accommodating regarding a comfortable temperature. Breakfast was simple. She's an excellent hostess, I recommend that you take a stay in the lovely town of Wicklow.

    Cristina2013-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a first class stay with Judy. She was very welcoming whilst giving us our own space. Very comfortable, lovely breakfast and lots to see and explore in and around Wicklow

You’ll love our place because of the views, the location, and the ambiance. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers. Our house is at the top of a hill, next to the forest with lots of places to walk, run and explore. Avondale House is only 5K away and Glendalough is a 20 minute drive. It is in a very tranquil setting, but the nearest pub and shop is 2K down the hill!
You are very welcome in our home and hope that you will relax and enjoy the unique surroundings. The house is very warm and comfortable in the winter with a wood burning stove heating the whole house, and nicely cool in the summer.
Ballinaclash is a small little village in the heart of Wicklow, The Garden of Ireland. We are close to so many beautiful places - Glenmalure, Glendalough, Avondale Forest Park to name just a few!

Nice comfy rooms, fantastic surroundings with views to die for and very tasty breakfast in the mornings to keep you going on the many nearby excursions. A stones throw away from great hiking and pristine beaches, perfect for anyone looking for an escape to the great outdoors. Sandra was an absolutely fantastic host who was really easy to chat to and provided lots of helpful information about the area. Such a lovely couple and a perfect holiday location. Highly highly recommended!

    Georgia2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • I recently booked a night at Sandra's for my partner and his brother. The commication from Sandra leading up to the date of booking was outstanding. The location was beautiful and the log cabin very comfortable. My partner said the personal little touches, such as the welcome note on the blackboard and the chit chat from Sandra and her husband made them feel very at home. I think I'll have to go down for a few nights sometime myself!

  • We had a wonderful time at Sandra‘s & Dessie‘s beautiful house. Both were very kind and lovely hosts. We have been welcomed with tea and homemade scones. The house is very clean and so cosy. Ballinaclash, Wicklow, Ireland

Situated 2.5km from Roundwood village and 10 mins from the Monastic Settlement of Glendalough, our home is in a peaceful, secluded spot in the foothills of Wicklow Mountains. With easy access to the Wicklow Way it is a walkers paradise!
We have 1 en-suite bedroom which has a double and a single bed. The room can be used as a family room to facilitate a couple and two children as we can provide an additional guest bed. An additional fee of Euro 12 per child over 10 years old per night applies.
The neighbourhood is in quiet sheep-farming countryside. Roundwood Village has a selection of pubs/restaurants and a mini supermarket. We are about 30 mins drive to the seaside (Bray/Greystones beaches) and 1 hr from Dublin.
  • We staied for 2 days with our two children. Every thing was simply perfect. The most impresive for me was the emplacement of the house, in the middle of the country, you feel that you live alone there, in a very quiet place, but very next to Glendalogh, and many walk trails. I love the acces to the house crossing a contry line with a green tunnel of trees; please Anne Marie, put a photo of this. The wild garden is incredible, like taken out of a fairy tale. The room and beds very confortable and clean. The breakfast excellent, by the side of a long window to the garden. And the best of our stay: Anne Marie, her hospitality and respect. Thank you. Jorge.

    Jorge2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed our last night at Anne-Marie. Our stay was really relaxed. Anne-Marie allowed us to cook and made us some tea. We had a nice conversation with Anne-Marie. In the early morning she made us a great breakfast.

    Dora2016-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Although the accommodations were one of the best of our entire trip, the best part of our experience was Anne-Marie, herself. She's a vibrant, vivacious, warm woman who invests herself in her guests and in providing a great experience. In addition to being responsive, Anne-Marie met us in town and led us back to her beautiful home. We had a wonderful time getting to know her a bit, during our brief stay. Our bedroom was incredibly clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

  • Anne-marie was the perfect host for us. She gave great advice and was so pleasant and positive. The breakfast was amazing !!! and the property is so peaceful. The room was very comfortable and the shower had great (adjustable) heat and pressure.

    Lise2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Anne-Marie's home! She communicated extremely well and met us in town to ensure easy navigation to her secluded (but not far from town) home. Her home and our space was clean. Our room was private and spacious (and we had great wifi). Anne-Marie made a wonderful breakfast and provided us a nice snack lunch for hiking. While her home offered great accommodations, the highlight was Anne-Marie herself. She is a warm, friendly, kind, generous and incredibly informative and knowledgeable host. We enjoyed great conversation and she provided extremely helpful guidance related to our interests in local music (Roundwood), hiking (Glendalough), restaurants (Bray) and sites (Dublin).

  • Anne Marie is a super host! Her place is very quiet and we felt very comfortable and welcome. The breakfast is just amazing! She also gave us tips of what to do in Wicklow. We had a great time at her place.

  • Follow her up to her house! It would be difficult to find. She is the sweetest and she has a great family and home! We had wonderful conversation. She made a great breakfast. This was the best night sleep I had my whole trip! Truly a great experience and I highly recommend.

  • If it is comfortable beds, peaceful quiet nights, delicious breakfasts to keep you going this is the place for you. Anne-Marie gave us notes of places to stop and see in Wicklow Glendalough and other areas we're traveling to. We so very much enjoyed the stay♡

House on a hill, with view of harbour, bight large single room, 5 minute walk to Wicklow Town or the beach, 20 minute walk to train station, 3 minute walk to Dublin Bus route. I work part time, my daughter is in college, we have a King Charles dog.
  • I had an amazingly relaxing stay! Tina's house is really nice and the bedroom is cozy and very comfortable. She and her daughter were extremely nice and her cavalier is the absolute best. She also provided such a nice breakfast, thank you! Wicklow also is a beautiful town. If you take bus 133 from Dublin, get off at Covent Hill because the signs are confusing but I learned today that it's the closest stop :) I definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back again one day. Thank you again for such a wonderful visit!

  • Peaceful and pretty we really enjoyed our stay with Jeff and Svetlana. I took a stroll around the grounds and it was really a beautiful spot. We attended a wedding at Ballybeg house and found it really easy to get to and it was a great place to relax after a long day of dancing! Jeff was so prompt with emails and they really went out of their way to accommodate our special requests. I would recommend and stay again.

  • Clone House is lovely! It was a bit difficult to find in the dark in the pouring rain, but when we finally arrived we enjoyed our stay. We didn't have much time there, but we had a lovely breakfast and a quick stroll around the grounds in the morning. Only con, not great for light sleepers. The sound of people out in the hall carried into our room very clearly.

When I had troubles during my hike I could contact Susie for advice and even got a lift back to Roundwood. She definitely helped to make my Wicklow experience as amazing as it was.

The house and the bedroom / bath is really clean. The bed es comfortable. I forgot my shower gel so Susie helped me out. After a great night of restful sleep we went to the kitchen to have breakfast. There was a lot of choice including fresh coffee and tea. Susie was a nice host for our stay in Roundwood... to be honest the best we could wish for. Highly recommended ! • We travel from Dublin by car. It’s only a 1hour drive. The instructions were really clear and easy to follow. You really need a car to go to Marie’s place as it’s countryside. We really loved staying at Marie’s. Her place was clean, and quiet so you can have a good night sleep after a walking day. Glendalough Park is only 5/10min drive. We felt really like home with her and she even prepared us a lovely breakfast. I definitely recommend for those who look for Nature, and to rest to stay there. It’s was the best part of our trip!

Trooperstown Wood Lodge guest house has been decorated in a traditional style and includes open fireplaces, spacious lounge areas and views onto the mountains and woodland.
Idyllically situated in the outskirts of the picturesque village of Glendalough, just minutes from Glendalough National Park, Trooperstown Wood Lodge provides the perfect guest accommodation for visitors to the Glendalough area.
Glendalough is home to one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland. This early Christian monastic settlement was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century and from this developed the “Monastic City”. Most of the buildings that survive today date from the 10th through 12th centuries. Despite attacks by Vikings over the years, Glendalough thrived as one of Ireland’s great ecclesiastical foundations and schools of learning until the Normans destroyed the monastery in 1214 A.D. and the dioceses of Glendalough and Dublin were united.

  • Extremely clean house with a perfect view and very nice hosts! We had a lovely stay in a double bed room. There were two bathrooms (one with a shower one with a bathtub) to share with the hosts. Breakfast was scones, toast, cereals and a fruit salad. Very fresh, healthy and very tasty. We had some problems with finding the directions. The (Hidden by Airbnb) maps pin does not point on the right house. They are about to add directions in the description. In case just give them a call, Sandra will guide you the way perfectly. Totally recommend this place overall.

  • What an absolute treat to stay with Sandra and Desie in their beautiful timber home with a view and surroundings to remember for ever. From every window a stunning view of the landscape, it made one appreciate the diversity of Ireland after our time in Dublin. Such considerate and caring hosts, complete with home made scones and breakfast, what a grand beginning to our time in Ireland. Comfortable bed, fluffy towels, hot shower, thank you both for your hospitality.

  • The Clone House is an incredibly warm, beautiful and magical place. Jeff and Svetlana are ultimate hosts, both gracious and kind, making us all feel more than welcome and at home in their home. It truly was like staying with long lost relatives! We had 2 giant and brilliant rooms with fireplaces and more than enough space to accommodate us. The best part was returning after a long day to the dining room lit up like a scene from a movie, and a special dinner Svetlana had prepared for us! The worst part was leaving! I will return here and I will recommend this lovely manor to anyone interested! Thanks Jeff and Svetlana, our trip was successful (horse wise) and perfect thanks to you!

  • A little piece of heaven tucked away in the Wicklow countryside. We felt we were part of the cast of Downton Abbey!! Beautiful old house renovated to a very high specification. Our room was huge with a large open fireplace which we lit on both nights. Svetlana very kindly gave us everything we needed for the fire (coal, logs, fire lighters) so our room was nice and cozy. The bathroom was also huge with a fabulous free standing bath and the separate shower was great with amazing water pressure. Breakfast was fantastic! Freshly cooked to order and plenty of tea, coffee and orange juice. We really enjoyed our stay at Clone House and we look forward to returning in the near future.

  • Although the place is quiet and lies in a beautiful area, the breakfast is well organized and ok, I was a little disappointed about our stay. The costs were - in my view too high compared to the quality we were offered, esp. After seeing other airbnb in Ireland. The house/ room is nice but also old. There were other guest as well which makes it a little more "vivid" than expected.

  • Utterly peaceful place that takes you away from the daily cares. Enjoy the massive rooms - with shutters instead of curtains that give it a French chateaux feel. Get to hear the other guest's stories around the big breakfast table. Beautiful gardens to enjoy , lovingly cared for and tended by your host . Great location to enjoy the Wicklow scenery - and for food ,try Bates in Rathdrum , recommended by Jeff, and really special. Les and Marg

  • Great hosts, would 100% stay again and I think we will be in the near further. The house is beautiful! Rooms are very grand. Very comfortable bed. The garden is great! I couldn't recommend staying here anymore. Jeff was very helpful when we arrived. Thank you for having us.

Bed and breakfast on outskirts of Wicklow Town. Ideally located beside Wicklow Golf Club and by picturesque walk to cliffs and famous old lighthouse. All rooms are en suite and there is a lovely breakfast room where breakfast is served each morning.
  • We had a great time! The room was clean and cozy. I defenetely recommend this B&B. Thanks :)

    Jennifer2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is more an hostel than a B&B. The girl at the desk was very nice. It was modest but clean. My feeling is that this place is beautiful but neglected and needs a lot of work. The back garden and water feature should be cleaned and maintained. So get to work...

    Patricia2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • My son and I only stayed for one night here. We were welcomed into the property and felt comfortable throughout our stay. The property is very well located, and we found it quiet. We had a fantastic night's sleep. We would certainly go back.

  • It's not a rbnb appartment, like it's not someone appart,it's a BnB !! Very hard to find the place and 'Zagor' didn't answer us. But it's in a Nice location Just near the sea. The woman Who is in charge in the hotel is very nice and friendly

    Hava2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, reasonable facilities and good range of food for breakfast. Hosts were friendly people.

    Anne2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The host "Zagor" was no where to be found, in fact his staff didn't even know who he was. Despite booking in advance, when we arrived they had no record of our booking. My advice would be definitely don't waste your money on this place...pictures must have been taken years ago as barely recognisable.

We're in a small village just over an hour south of Dublin. Our location is ideal for exploring Glendalough and the Wicklow Way. The hosts have in-depth knowledge of the area and can assist with drop-off and pick-ups for walkers and guiding services.
It's in Wicklow's most beautiful village, serial winner of the Tidy Towns Contest, Entente Florale, and perennial host of weddings, vintage car rallies and other photogenic events. We are geared for singles or couples - we can fit a camp pet at a pinch but we prefer the direct attention we can give to one or two visitors. Their room, our back garden, the main living room for breakfast and briefings, and one of Ireland's prettiest villages as a base for exploring the Garden County. For guests who just want a base in lovely Wicklow, we provide bed, breakfast and generous levels of guidance. For those who wish to explore further, we provide or arrange hill walking, pilgrimage visits to holy and powerful spots, and general guided day trips. We are there all the time - Tony is a work-from-home IT professional - when needed :) It's one of the most beautiful locations in Ireland that isn't in a tourist hot spot. Alas, we are not served with direct public transport to and from the village. But there is rail to Dublin 15 minutes away, and DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport - regular and daytime commuter rail) 40 minutes away. There is an Aughrim Taxi service and several hackney services convenient for sites within 20 miles of Aughrim. We can provide a taxi service ourselves given some notice of the requirement. Local lake, for a morning constitutional. Two way marked trails within walking distance. One of Ireland's premier long distance walking routes within a half hour drive.

Lough Dan House is situated over 1000 feet up in the Wicklow Mountains on an eighty-acre farm, overlooking Lough Dan, the largest natural lake on the east coast of Ireland. Beside The Wicklow Way, it is the perfect location for a Walking Holiday
  • We stayed at Loughdan House just for one night, our first night in Ireland, but everything was wonderful. The house is beautifully located and easy to find, and the room was clean with everything we needed. Theresa was wonderful and very welcoming, with helpful information for every question we had and good recommendation on what to see and do in the area. I would gladly recommend staying here.

  • Chris was really Nice and helpful. The room was always tidy and very spatious with a comfortabel bed. We liked every minute of our stay

  • We stayed here on our last night in Ireland and had to leave before breakfast in the morning to catch our flight home. The staff was kind enough to put together a to-go bag for us, which we appreciated. Our room was clean and comfortable, with cozy beds.

  • Chris's place is within walking distance of the charming village of Laragh and of breathtaking Glendalough. We l (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ed staying here. Nice hosts, good breakfast, and beauty in every direction.

  • Chris was so gracious despite our late arrival! We actually had a flat and then got lost just after we told him we were on the way. We contacted him again to let him know that we were back on track and he was very understanding. He had us checked in and headed to dinner in no time - Our room was spotless and very comfortable. He has DVD players in the rooms and a cabinet full of movies - perfect for winding down after a long day on the road and dinner. The bed was very comfortable. The wifi worked well. Breakfast was delicious. He also has been adding to a really nice patio area behind the house by the river. It's nice already and it's gonna be very very nice by the time he is done with it. We had a nice quiet stay mid April...

The breakfast was outstanding and the service was excellent. Very friendly and inviting and a great way to start our day with conversation and laughtef. We would go back tomorrow and highly recommend this BNB.

  • Chris received us even though it was late and showed us everything. The room was warm, comfortable, especially the shower and the bed. It was a nice surprise seeing that we had at our disposal a lot of DVD movies to make the most of our evenings in beautiful Glendalough. The breakfast was very varied and was the perfect way to kickstart our day. Chris also helped us to take care of our luggage while we enjoyed our last day hiking in the area.

  • So fun to stay in a combo pub/B&B. We had to leave too early for breakfast (starts at 9), but enjoyed a tasty and hearty dinner in the pub the night before. Excellent food and charming environment. Rooms were clean and warm, particularly nice bathrooms. A great place to stay after some hiking in Wicklow.
