  • I'm really glad I booked Luca's place. The room is as described and very comfortable to stay in. The flat is basically spotless. Luca is a detail-oriented, thoughtful and very helpful host. The breakfast he makes is wonderful! Whatever I asked, it is provided for. I would certainly recommend this listing and I hope to be back soon. It's the best Airbnb experience I have so far.

  • Fantastic place to stay. Luca and Veronica were incredibly friendly and helpful as I arrived with no real plans except fun and relaxation! Breakfasts were delicious and filling with homemade cappuccinos :) Salerno is a great place and staying with them made the end of my five weeks in Europe a great experience!

  • This was an amazing Bed and Breakfast-- a lovely treat after a week of traveling. The location is great: easy to arrive to and close to everything in Salerno. With Luca's help, I was able to chart out a wonderful stay in Salerno. I highly recommend it for the patio's ocean breeze, clean atmosphere, and breakfast with the best grapes I have had, ever.

  • Luca and Veronica's place was great! They provided a labeled map of the city with great suggestions for activities and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable with a balcony that overlooked the neighbourhood and the ocean! Their breakfast was awesome! They even left us coffee, juice, and some goodies in the frigde on our last morning because we were leaving before their scheduled breakfast time! Helped us with parking, and offered to make phone calls that for us would be long distance. Thanks again for the amazing hospitality, kindness, and the perfect place to stay in Salerno!! We hope to be back soon!- Lily and Simon

  • B&B was lovely. Breakfast was very nice. Luca gave recommendations on where to eat and told us about the Ferry to the Amalfi Coast and Positano. Great time!

  • I've stayed in this B&B from 12 till 14 of September 2013. First of all, the appartments are really nice - they are pretty nice decorated, there is a separate room with separate balcony with a great view, it's cozy there, there is a wi-fi, the appartments are in the city center, so even sitting on balcony you can feel city atmosphere. And finally - the greatest point is the owners of the b&b- Veronika and Luca. Veronika, thanks a lot for your such a super-hospitality and taking care, tips about where to go what to see and flexibility in breakfast preparation. I was feeling like at home there! Wish to come back again one day :) I would definetely reccomend this B&B. Veronika

  • Luca is a fantastic host with a clear commitment to making your stay as pleasant as possible. His b&b is charming, comfortable and perfectly located, with easy access to tons of restaurants and transport to the wonderful treasures around the area. I spent 6 nights here and wish I had planned to stay a bit longer. At first I was wary about the external bathroom, but it really is two steps from the room and no problem at all. I loved relaxing on the terrace in the evening, and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend Luca's B&B.

    Jeanne2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • This B&B is perfect. It's immaculately clean and it has everything you would want in an Airbnb stay. It's walking distance from public transportation and many restaurants and squares. Luca is a lifesaver and will recommend anything to your liking. He knows what he is doing and he is very good with communication. I recommend staying at this Airbnb.

  • This was a great apartment. It was recently updated with high end finishes and was very clean. The views were incredible and the neighbors were friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Vincenzo's place lives up to its photos. It's a lovely apartment located in the quaint village of Raito. It was wonderful to come back to after the congestion of Amalfi and Positano. It's very clean, renovated with all of the amenities. We had no trouble finding free parking in the village each day. It's off the beaten path and less touristy, but you can easily get to its more well known neighbouring towns either by car or bus. We also took the hydrofoil from Salerno, which isn't far from Raito, to Capri.

    Andrew2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Ada is a beautiful place to stay and the village of Raito is a quaint and quiet escape from the other high traffic tourist areas. The view is absolutely gorgeous, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Tracy2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Truely the most AMAAAZING Airbnb we ever stayed! The view is incredible! The house is fully renovated but they kept the old wooden beams in that gives it charcter. OMG It's super duper clean everywhere and has everything you need. The bed was fantastic and large enough for 3 adult people! Has crispy white sheets and a firm matress and pillows. The shower was absolutely perfect, hot water and the kitchen is complete. It was very easy to communicate with Vincenzo and Alessandro. They gave us tips and good advice throughout the whole stay. The village is save and quiet at night while sleeping. Airco around the entire house, new alarm system and no mosquitos! DEF DEF STAY here again!!!! So worth every €!

  • Our time passed too quickly in this lovely small town - we really enjoyed the quietness of Raito, and the views, from both the town & the apartment!! The apartment is modern and well furnished, and kitchen had most things we needed to cook with! The town has a fantastic deli, a fruit shop, and a coffee shop. It has local buses to Vietri and onto Salerno, with ferries to Amalfi & Positano. We had a fantastic week!!

    Angus2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home in a small quaint town with all amenities near by. No details spared in the design of the home. Grocery store. Fruit and vegetable store, butcher and pharmacy too. A small distance to a beautiful beach in Vietri. Bus and taxi service regularly available. Access to other Amalfi towns available through fairy service. We had a great time and would definitely return!

  • A great stay in a beautiful apartment. The tiles and ceramics in the property are all from the local area and are amazing! The views from the upstairs balcony are incredible. The apartment has been very tastefully decorated.

In Vietri, the Amalfi coast door few steps from Salerno, half way between Pompei and Paestum, beautiful apartment with a large terrace overlooking the sea, ideal for two people; private parking and direct access to sea make your stay amazing! Enjoy!!
BBHome is a charming apartment, composed by entrance hall, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, utility room, living room and terrace. Providing all the comforts (oven, washing machine, hair dryer, iron, flat screen Tv, hot/cold air conditioning, Wi-Fi, parking) to make unforgettable your stay in the Amalfi Coast. Located in the private complex " Madonna Arch Park ", accessible by car from the 163 Amalfi Highway ( SS 163 ) after 1,5 km from Vietri sul Mare or by walking down 40 steps from Marina di Vietri. BY CAR: from Vietri sul Mare, follow the signs to the "Amalfi Coast" and take the State Road 163 Amalfi (SS163) for about 1.5 km; on the left, the sea side, (after the Restaurant "La Voce del Mare", at the Restaurant Wine Bar "Fish" and the road mirror), take the dead end road Madonna dell'Arco till the end where there is the white gate access to"Madonna dell'Arco Park." Enter, go left until the house D and park your car under covered porch, No 1 reserved. Note: The "Madonna dell'Arco" street is a narrow, two-way, typical of the Amalfi Coast road, therefore, please notify if you have very large cars or difficulty driving uphill and/or downhill. You could alternatively park in Marina di Vietri and going home by walking through the up/down steps. In the latter case, prior agreements, I would bring you home by car to load/unload luggages. ON FOOT: from Vietri sul Mare, cross Matteotti Square and go down to Marina di Vietri following the downhill road in direction "Beaches/Stadium/Carabinieri". Right at the end of the steep road (passed the Carabinieri station) you will find a first footbridge right in front of you. Turn left and then right over the second bridge and keep going to the end of the road (on the right looking at the sea - Via Nuova Marina) where you will find a public parking space on payment. (Free public parking is on the downhill road Via Osvaldo Costabile). On the right, opposite the Lido " Il Risorgimento ", there is the staircase to " Madonna dell'Arco Park ", where you will find the white gate to BBHome. BY TRAIN: The nearest railway station is Vietri sul Mare (2.5kms away) served only by local/regional trains. The main Railways Station is Salerno (7 Kms away) served by high speed trains (booking required) as well as IC and regional trains. From Salerno to Vietri by train: Regional trains from Salerno to Vietri take roughly 7 minutes and run hourly (less frequently on Sundays or Holidays). BY BUS: Anyway, from Salerno, we recommend the SITA SUD buses to Amalfi instead (bus stop at Corso G. Garibaldi crossing via Barretta). Tickets can be purchased on the station concourse or the tobacconist shop at the corner of the station square. The buses run hourly and take around 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. Please, ask the driver to stop at "Voce del Mare-Fish" stop (requested stop). Via Madonna dell'Arco is literally across the road from the stop. Walk down for roughly 500mt (after the church) and stop at the white gate for BBHome. From Vietri sul Mare Railways Station: walk down to the main square (Piazza Matteotti) and take the SITA SUD bus to Amalfi. Tickets must be purchased before boarding at the newsagent shop on Vietri's main street or at the ceramic shop D'Amico on Piazza Matteotti. The ride will take only a few minutes (1.5kms). Please ask the driver to stop at "Voce del Mare-Fish" stop (request stop). BY PLANE: The nearest airport is Naples. From there you can take the shuttle bus (called Alibus) to the main railway station (Napoli Centrale). Tickets can be purchased on the bus. From Naples station trains run frequently to Salerno. From Salerno Railways Station take the SITA SUD buses to Amalfi (as before). BY TAXI: taxis can be found outside Salerno Railways Station (about 20 euro one way). Please, note that there are no taxis outside Vietri Railways Station. TRANSFERS: From Naples Capodichino Airport you can arrange a private transfer ( extra service ). We can also arrange a pick-up or a taxi from Salerno or Vietri sul Mare Railways Stations on request (extra service). Please, contact us in good time before arrival, indicating the time of arrival and departure of the train.
BBHome is located in a historically interesting area. About 40 steps separate the ccommodation with Marina di Vietri, where it is possible to have a number of restaurants, bars , equipped beaches, boat rentals. Not far from from the SS163 Amalfi Road connecting BBHome with the most famous sites of the Amalfi Coast ( Erchie, Cetara, Minori, Maiori, Amalfi, Positano), as well as the center of Vietri sul Mare (declared Patrimony of Humanity by Artistic UNESCO) where you could observe, among other things, the famous Vietri ceramics and the historic palace by the architect Paolo Soleri. Not far from the highway A3 to Naples, it is well connected to other locations to the north and south of Salerno, such as Pompeii, Sorrento, Paestum for archaeological excavations and buffalo mozzarella and, finally, the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano .
  • Beautiful and spacious apartment. Great balcony with amazing views. Walking distance to restaurants. Note: If you are driving a car, the road to the apartment is very very narrow and steep. If you are used to this it should be no problem, but we felt a bit nervous about the road.

  • We spent 5 days at Barbara's place and I have to tell you the pictures are not doing any justice to her home. You have the most spectacular views from the living room and the terrace, and the interior design of the home is the best ever! The reality is much better than the picures! Barbara is a gracefull, beautifull lady inside and out, very helpful and kind! I would recomend her, and her home over and over again! Vietri sul Mare is a cozy little town on the Amalfi Coast that I would also recomend because it is private enough but not completely secluded, and if you really feel like exploring more bussier areas you have the whole Amalfi Coast to do that. Thanks Barbara for having us, it was a pleasure to meet you!

    Mihai2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara made us feel very welcome in her apartment. The area was beautiful. The patio, over looking the ocean was fantastic! We walked everywhere. Had a wonderful wine tasting, food pairing experience up in the hills. Public transportation was good. Wish we stayed longer. We will be back!

    Alita2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best airbnbs I've stayed in. Everything was exactly as was described. Barbara was a very accommodating host she was easy to contact before check in and during the stay offering any tips on places to visit and answering any questions we had. The flat is very well equipped with everything you need and is a short walk to Vietri marina. It's very spacious and comfortable. We drove and although the road is very narrow once you have driven it a couple of times it's really easy and great to get around all the sights from. Just make sure you bring a very small car! One minor problem we had was the wifi it wasn't always on and needed to be charged up to use, and sometimes connection wasn't always easy to get but if you can use 3G there's very good signal. But it didn't bother us very much so not a big deal breaker. I would definitely recommend this flat as a base to stay in amalfi coast it's not touristy at all and after seeing amalfi and the other big towns like maiori and minori which were very busy we were so happy we chose Vietri. The beaches are great and we tried a lot of the local restaurants and had lovely meals every night. Thank you again Barbara!! Xx

    Emily2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Well equipped flat with beautiful views - tucked away from the crowds and serene. Loved quiet meals on the terrace with the sounds of the shore and the birds. Barbara was wonderfully hospitable and responsive.

  • Beautiful place! Barbara was a very helpful and friendly host. The appartment itself is perfect with its breathtaking view! Everything looks even better that on the photos! Very well equipped place, you will find everything you need. Thank you and hope to be back soon! Grazie!

  • This is an amazing place to stay! So close to the beach and a short uphill walk or easy bus ride into town. Such a beautiful setting with amazing views. Barbara was a brilliant host, so welcoming and great communication. We would definitely stay here again!

Villa Sorvillo is an historic and prestigious villa in the Amalfi Coast, blessed with a splendid panoramic view of the coastline and the sea at Vietri sul Mare, one of the most authentic jewels of the Amalfi Coast.
Characterized by a unique view of the splendid Amalfi Coast, the Villa is set inside a completely fenced-in property, graced with centenary pine and lemon trees, while the accommodation has two large, equipped terraces with a stunning sea and coastal view. The inner space of the Villa is characterized by the imposing vaulted ceilings, reminiscences of the ancient private chapel, and rare antique ceramics. The Villa was once the property of the Roman Catholic Church, being the summer residence of the bishop of Cava, but was subsequently expropriated with other Church proprieties by General Murat on orders from Napoleon and auctioned off to the Bellelli family. The Villa was then passed by marriage to the family of the actual owners.
The property is gifted with an excellent location easily reached by highway from the airport and it is usually used as a starting point in order to visit the surrounding area and the Amalfi Coast. The position of the Villa allows guests to organize brief or longer day trips to all main attractions in the area, either in the coastline or the inland, from the comfort of an ancient private Villa with stunning 180 degree views of the coastline and the Mediterranean. Unlike other locations on the Amalfi Coast, the Villa has excellent nearby roads, rails and sea transportation to both main coastal and inland tourist attractions. This includes: Vietri town centre (0,3 km), Amalfi (20 km), Ravello (24 km), Pompei (25 km), Positano (40 km), Paestum (45 km), Ercolano (40 km) and Salerno harbor (5 km) where fast-ferries to the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Ischia and Procida islands leave for scenic return day trips. In addition to these famous tourist destinations, the relatively unknown and unspoiled little places of the Amalfi Coast, such as Cetara and Erchie (loved by Kevin Costner), can be reached from the Villa in 15 minutes for an even more authentic experience in Southern Italy.
  • Very, very nice. Just do it. You won't be sorry.

  • Brilliant property that Luigi and Murdoch made even better

    Pablo2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 10 days here in early August 2017 and the house did not disappoint. It is very spacious and comfortable despite its age. We traveled with a 1 yr old and Orietta was very accommodating in providing a crib for him. As expected with a house this age, there is no AC, but the huge windows in each room create a beautiful cross breeze. We already miss the late nights sitting on the patio, enjoying the views and the company. Orietta also has a smaller unit onsite that we hope to use in the future. The street getting to the house is tricky (narrow and winding) but truly, any inconvenience experienced is more than compensated for by the house itself. A must visit.

    Jennifer2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful large villa in Vietri Sul Mare was a wonderful place to spend 8 days on the Amalfi coast. We always look for the more real town to call home when we travel. And Vietri was perfect, full of restaurants, charming shops and transportation hubs. It is quite easy to access Amalfi, Positano, Pompeii and Salerno, for example, from the Villa Sorvillo. The home was large and full of history. And the view was "pinch me" perfect. Caretaker Luigi was attentive when needed and always warm and friendly. If you love connecting with history and don't especially like huge groups of tourists, this villa could be for you.

    Christine2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place, it really is exceptional in its location, character, views and size. The pictures really don't do it justice. If you are looking for something with a touch of class you won't go far wrong choosing Villa Sorvillo.

    Frank2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We chose the villa to enable us to explore Pompeii and Napoli in addition to the coast. We were so comfortable in the house that we cooked in every night. The view is amazing and the history and gracious nature of the home delighted our family.

  • Beautiful home walking distance to shops/restaurants. Right around the corner from the ceramic factory. We had an amazing stay and the only thing that would have made it even better was A/C, although the fans and ocean breeze made the temperature very pleasant. Highly recommend!

This elegant villa on the Amalfi Coast is situated in a magnificent location with panoramic sea views. The villa is on three floors, has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, a large living room, a very big garden and a beautiful swimming pool.
This elegant villa is situated in a magnificent location overlooking the sea, in Vietri sul Mare, a small town very famous for its pottery and artistic ceramics, located at the beginning of the beautiful Amalfi Coast. Villa Albatros is surrounded by a private garden of one hectare, with a long driveway, several Mediterranean pine trees and olive trees. The villa, of 300 square meters, is on 3 floors and can accommodate up to eight people, for a total of 4 rooms including two rooms with double bed and two with twin beds; the house has a large living room with nice balconies overlooking the sea, a studio-room, 3 bathrooms, two with shower and one with bath, and a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. Villa Albatros is equipped with Tv, internet wi-fi and independent heating. In the neighborhood of the villa, in addition to renowned places on the Amalfi Coast (Amalfi, Ravello and Positano) are some important sites of historical and archaeological interest (Paestum Pompeii and Herculaneum) – as well as artistic and cultural interest such as the city of Salerno and the city of Naples. **** The pool will be closed in this time: 1 April - 1 May ****
The enchanting town of Vietri sul Mare is considered to be the “cradle of majolica;” thus it is no random fact that the gorgeous Church of San Giovanni Battista and the facade of the Arciconfraternita dell’Annunziata e del Rosario are covered in these splendid and colorful ceramic tiles.
  • Amazing, amazing, amazing. Omar the caretaker was wonderful and accommodating. Be aware it isn't the easiest to find but when you do. WOW. There were 8 of us and it worked very well.

  • Great location, amazing views, wonderful villa. We only regret that we could not stay longer. We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace with an unobstructed view of the sea, and dinner by the pool. The kids enjoyed the pool. There is ample parking on the premises (parking is a problem in the area), and the Amalfi coast is accessible by ferry from Salerno, a short drive away (there is also a bus that stops close to the villa, but we opted for the ferry).

    Alexandru2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful villa with breathtaking views a short walk from a lovely town full of restaurants and shops! The caretaker of the property, Mr. Omar, adds greatly to the experience of staying here where you feel more like visiting family than paying guests. He is so gracious and kind and a true benefit of renting this property. There was a bit of a language barrier, but somehow we were able to communicate just fine as gestures, smiles, and a combination of fractured romance languages seemed to do the trick. As for the Villa itself, it far exceeded our expectations. This is not a place full of second-rate, purchased for renters furniture and appointments. This is a cherished family home and it shows. We really did feel like we were visiting the owners who had just stepped out. That level of trust is not to be taken lightly, and I hope every future renter treats this place with the respect it deserves. Everything was simply perfect. As a person who enjoys cooking even on holiday, I appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. The Villa, pool and grounds are kept extremely clean. All bedding and linens were top quality, and the rental manager, Dorotea, is very professional and responded quickly and to my MANY questions. LOL We will be return guests, I am sure of it.

The house and gardens are exceptional - perfect for relaxing in around the pool. Easy access from the road network and to the local train station helps make it a great base for exploring the area

  • Absolutly worth it. We really enjoyed our time at the Villa - breathtaking view of the coast, sunrises like you only know from movies. Warm welcome from the Host and 24/7 there for any belongings.

  • Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed our stay - there was plenty of room for the kids, wonderful views from several different terraces - you could be in the shade (or sun if you choose) all day by simply moving from terrace to terrace. The port is noisy but with the windows closed it isn't a problem - the house could benefit from fans in each room so that closing the windows when it is hot is an option. We were at the house for San Giovanni day, the Patron Saint of Vietri Sul Mare. The view of the fireworks was amazing - though also loud! Mr. Omar, the caretaker, was helpful and charming.

This is a magic place. A house which has remained untouched. The view, the atmosphere, the house itself will take you into the past. 1 double bed + 2-4 single beds, possibility for 2 extra double bedrooms + bathroom (with small additional daily price). A charming corner to rest.
Some info, Monica can send you more. DESCRIPTION The house has no modern comforts, it is an old and ancient house. Everything in it is old. The place extends over two levels: the ground floor: terrace, dining room, ancient kitchen, ancient small washing room, small cellar (to keep wine or food fresh). The upper floor: second terrace, two large voulted rooms, small bed/space, balcony, corridor, long bathroom. Possibility of 1 additional room with private bathroom (with a small extra cost). Free wifi connection. Telephone. Free access for walks into the property land.
HOW FAR Villa Argia is located between two small villages: Raito and Albori, at 10-15 mins (by car) from Vietri sul Mare and 20 mins from Salerno and 1 hour from Napoles and its museums and monuments, as well 1 hour by car as from Pompeii and the beautiful villages of the Amalfi Coast. But almost isolated in front of the mountain and the sea. BEACHES Beaches can be reached by bus or car or with a 20 min walk on a large staircase from Raito to Vietri Marina or Marina d'Albori. Different kind of beaches can be reached, both free (less available in the summer season) or under payment (€15,00 per person for sunbed, umbrella and parking).
  • Unique old house with special atmosphere - mix of tradition, history and beauty. Monica, the owner, made us feel like her family and took realy good care of us. There are very few places like this on entire airbnb network. We loved the time we've spend there and will never forget it. Thank you again Monica!!!

    Marta2014-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is AMAZING. Monica, her daughter Aurora, and Pietro were so kind, generous and welcoming - we had a such a special, relaxing time. And we've never had a more beautiful and breathtaking view in our lives - the pictures already make this place look like paradise but seeing it in person takes it to a whole new level of beauty. This is such a warm, beautiful home with so much history and love in its walls and we feel honoured to have spent the time that we did there. We would absolutely love to come back!

    Alex2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • There is definitely something special about this house.. I echo the sentiments of another reviewer who said it was an airbnb gem. Monica and Pietro are some of the loveliest people we have met and made us feel really welcome and Molli the cat is such a sweetheart! The house itself is quite large and I love the kitchen - we made a few good meals in there, including one with fresh tomatoes from the garden that Monica gave us one afternoon.. what a treat! It is an old house with a lot of character and charm and enough modern comforts, about 50 mins from Naples by car and easy enough to find and also get around to explore the coast. Staying here was quite a unique experience and I would love to come back again one day!

  • We based this reservation on the high marks associated with this listing, but we failed to experience anything positive. First off we did not start off on the right foot. We were unable to find the home and we were not able to contact anyone regarding this issue. We stopped at a local hotel for assistance. They were very helpful in trying to contact the host or the caretaker but the phone numbers that were given for contact did not go through. In fairness, the host was traveling and was unable to respond. We ended up driving through the town asking if anyone knew of "Monica". 4 hours later we finally arrived at the house after we stumbled upon the caretaker on the road, who spoke no English, but a very nice man.. When we opened the front door, it had a very strong musty smell. We opened the windows but the biting bugs were unreal. No fans anywhere and the washer did not work. The next morning the host said that she would send the caretaker to check the washer. She said that if he was unable to get the machine working that he would clean the clothes for us. We returned home that evening and nothing was done. The clothes were still in the washer. She was kind enough to meet us the morning of checkout and basically implied that everything was our fault. She even sent an email afterwards saying that the washer was working fine and that we should have bought insect repellent. Wow...I went as far as looking online to operate the washer - made noise but no water or movement. I find it disappointing when a host fails to meet the terms of their agreement. I find it personally offensive to turn things around and blame the guests for the problems they encountered. Bad business, Pitiful experience. Rethink this property

  • Monica's house is a wonderful place to stay. A beautiful, authentic, cared for old house. We felt very lucky to stay there. The house is big with good amenities and great views and places to sit and enjoy them. During our stay, we visited Amalfi, Salerno, Positano, Ravello and Paestum although the roads were extremely busy and parking was a big problem at this time of year. (We hired a car) Raito is a nice little village and we enjoyed a meal at the restaurant-Calvaliere Dei Conti and evening at Bar Albori. Monica provided us with lots of useful information and was very responsive, helpful and communicative. Pietro was also very kind and helpful.

    Robert2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • There is the most wonderful sense of peace, family and history in this house. It is also well equipped, comfortable and with its old thick walls and vaulted ceilings, we certainly appreciated the cool downstairs. The terraces mean you can watch the boats to-ing and fro-ing all day from Salerno and the smaller harbours. And the moon over the bay…. Heaven! Monica is the perfect host, discreet and obliging at the same time. She could not have been more helpful. Also, Pietro, who gave us the most wonderful fresh figs from his garden. We arrived for a week of the heatwave “Lucifer” so didn’t manage to do as much as we’d intended. But Albori is charming, we ate out at both the Bruschetteria and “New Garden”, both very good and the latter perfect for the non-fish-eating teenager (with pasta and meat dishes and great pizza). Due to the heat, we spent half of our week at the lido in Marina D’Albori. Don’t be put off by the steps! It is a great spot, much better than those at Vietri, and the kids well entertained between kayaks, pedalos and jumping off rocks (also the lunches at “A (URL HIDDEN) good!) It is a wonderful area, beautiful house with perfect hosts. Thank you so much!!

    Jessica2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is exactly why I love AirBnb. Perfect authentic home with an awesome host. If you ever want to visit Amalfi Coast and the region around, please treat yourself and stay at Monica's . You will not regret it. Could'nt have dream of a more lovely and authentic italian neighbourhood.

    Cid2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • The old house by the sea is different to anything we experienced. As Monica promised - if you listen she will tell you her story. We spent 2 weeks in the house, in the gorgeous villeges of Raito and Albori having one of the best family vacations. The views are stunning ever changing through the day, the beaches are close and access to the Amlfi coast is great. Monica went out of her way to help us plan and Pietro was always on call for anything we needed. A car is recommended and you need to be a clam driver to deal with the narrow and steap roads. We highly recommend this house for anyone flexible and open enough to appreciate it.

  • Villa Divina is a heavenly place to stay to explore the Amalfi coast, Pompeii, Vesuvius and other surrounding area. For those braving a car, there is plenty of parking which is not usual. The apartment is gorgeous will beautiful view of Vietri sul Mare. To cap off this amazing property is Roby and her welcoming family - we regularly received fresh pears and tomatoes from the garden and a complimentary bottle of delicious white wine from their vineyard. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

    Ian2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is really the best Airbnb experience I could ask for. The house is perfect in every way and host Roby is super friendly and helpful. I wish I could stay longer in this beautiful place. Thank you Roby for the amazing time! Don't miss out the opportunity to enjoy this place!

    Jane2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best airbnb we have even seen. The house, the grounds, the view, the furniture, everything is amazing, you must stay here. We never wanted to leave! Roberta is also an amazing host - she had wine, water, coffee and snacks waiting for us and responded very quicly whenever we had questions. She also arranged an amazing night out in a restaurant for us. You must stay here!

    Jerome2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta's space is a gem that makes you want to move into right away. The pictures on the site by far can't show the real beauty of the spacious home. Great place for a family with a kid. The kitchen is huge and sitting on the patio at breakfast while looking at the Mediterranean Sea from half up a little mountain is beyond breathtaking. We loved the 6 min walk to the local shop each morning to get cheese, bread and eggs among other things while practicing Italian. Made us feel like "locals". The large living room and master bedroom are superb and our daughter didn't want to leave her princess bed in the second bedroom. Though in the end the large covered swimming pool always convinced her to get out of bed, though in the evenings she didn't want to go to bed for exactly that lovely pool. We could go on an on about the beauty of this outstanding Airbnb space. We loved the fact that it is not right in town though a mere 5 min car ride up a little hill, which allowed for overwhelming views of a one in a million landscape. Enough! Just go see for yourself. This is more than a place to sleep, it's an oasis where you will enjoy life at the fullest.

    Bea & Henning2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Villa Divina was magical. The beautiful views, lush landscaping and the spacious apartment all set in a quaint village. Roby's assistance with car rental and restaurant reservations was invaluable. Our visits to Rome and Florence were great but our stay at Roby's was the best part of our vacation.

    John2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures cannot capture the quiet perfection of this place. It's situation in the landscape, the tasteful renovation of the home itself — the imaginative construction of the pool and grounds — everything is really so good I hesitate to share it. I would have been happy enough with just this — but Roberta also happens to be the perfect host — warm, inviting and helpful with a light and easy touch. The home is stocked with espresso, wine made on the premises, a fresh pie — really more than anyone can ask. Fabulous.

  • Our esperience at Mareluna was fantastic! Maria is a warm and welcoming hostess, and the hospitality she and her family showed us was wonderful. We (six adults) loved staying there. Maria helped us to arrange everything we needed, including restaurants and a driver for our excursions. I hope to return here, and I highly recommend Mareluna to everyone.

    Ruth2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful place and view. Maria was very friendly and helpful with any questions. Would recommend for a more secluded get away, kind of far from the tourist areas of Amalfi. Also many steps to the apartment which may be difficult if you have any disabilities or a lot of luggage but that's typical of the area. Loved and would recommend if you're looking for a quiet escape with the possibility to go to the cities.

    Briana2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Maria has been an excellent host. Her apartment is very beautiful and very special. The sea view is fantastic. Maria recommended a restaurant for us. The restaurant owner Domenico was very nice and the food was excellent. Next time I would like to stay at the apartment for 1 week.

    Andrew2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Have you already took a look on the photos of the apartment and the view on the seaside? Believe me, it`s as fantastic as you can even imagine!!! The house is convenient and modern with a breath of Italian style. And it is really spacious! The perfect space for holidays as for couples as for families to take a rest outside crowded cities. Another advantage of home - hosts! Maria and her son are really helpful people. They can tell you a lot about local life and recommend what to see, where to eat, etc. The are always ready to answer on any question or request you have. That was a perfect place for holidays for us!

    Iryna2016-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Maria's place. There were a few hiccups with the power going out but nothing major. Maria and Angelo were very accommodating and there whenever we needed them. They gave us restaurant recommendations and helped us with our luggage. The place is gorgeous with a most breathtaking view of the coast from all the rooms. It's decorated beautifully, as well. We would love to stay here again!

    Ashley2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Residence Mareluna and highly recommend it to anyone interested in visiting the Amalfi coast but staying away from the crowds. The house was clean and spacious, and both the house and views were even more beautiful than the pictures! Mareluna is tucked into a hillside overlooking Vietri Sul Mare - a little out of the way, but easy to get anywhere you need to go with the help of the hosts, Maria and Angelo. Maria and Angelo were extremely helpful with all aspects of the trip, most notably with communication before arrival, arranging transportation from the train station, arranging dinner reservations, and helping us see nearby Pompeii and the coast. You could not ask for better AirBNB hosts. Thank you!

    Anne2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Maria and her son Angelo were amazing hosts. They went out of their way to arrange transportation for us to and from the flat, restaurants and the coast. They are very kind and patient, they took their time to ensure everything was perfect. The flat itself is beautiful, and would be great to host a big family or a bunch of friends. We used it as a hub to explore the Amalfi coast (accessible by bus and ferry from Salerno). The only drawback would be that getting around by foot is not possible, although there is an easy €1 bus into town, or taxi and car rental are options. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend!

    David2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Hosts were incredibly warm and were available if we needed anything. The place is enormous (there were 6 of us and more space than what we needed) and well placed, as it's less than an hour away by car from Napoli, Pompeii, and any place on the Amalfi coast.

  • Best reception from ever by a most gracious and kind man. We both (me and my fiancé) felt really welcome and taken care of from the get go. Our train was late and therefore our check in got delayed by a few hours. Because of this we were met by the train to help us get settled in. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking an apartment in vietri sul mare. Thank you again for the stay!

  • We had a lovely time staying at Casa di Ilma. Ennio and Daniele and their families were great hosts. They came and found us when we were lost, offered to drive us to the bus stop and walk us to great restaurants, and let us store our belongings after check out. They were so kind! The house was thoughtfully decorated and well supplied (coffee, sugar, milk etc provided),which we appreciated. The best parts, however, were the beautiful balcony and short walk to the beach. The only minor inconvenience is that it would've been nice to have two bathrooms for seven people, but I wouldn't let that stop us from coming back again. Thank you again Ennio and Daniele!

  • Live like a local! Spacious, immaculately spotless home with 10-foot ceilings. Bright sunlit rooms open onto an expansive terrace with space for our large family of six, and doors onto a long balcony with panoramic views of the hillside and winding roads. The soothing sound of the distant waterfall was a pleasant soothing sound through the nights. Steps to shops where you can find the freshest of local fruit, cheese and bread. Some knowledge of Italian goes a long way in the shops. Make gelato or cafe nella piazza your evening routine as it has been for generations of residents. The town is conveniently located a short taxi or bus ride from the bustle of Salerno. Take a boat from Salerno to Amalfi and beyond. A tranquil place to rest from the tourist crowds that have not yet spoiled the hometown feel of Vietri Sul Mare. Excellent food abounds. Of course, ceramic art is the town's specialty. The hosts were very kind to arrange for our transportation to and from our connections in Salerno. When we return, we will stay much longer. An excellent, enjoyable experience.

  • My friends and I stayed at this apartment for just over a week. Although the apartment is advertised as "Ilma's" place, I was originally communicating with someone else and finally the check in was someone else again. In saying that the responses were timely and acceptable. We arrived via private mini van transfer from Sorrento as we had a few bags and it ended up being the easiest option. Our driver spoke with the check in contact Enio who had basic English to confirm the exact location. When we arrived Enio and his wife Rosaria were there to welcome us. And they were wonderful. Their English was basic but between my basic Italian and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate we did fine. There was cold water and milk in the fridge. Italian coffee and sugar which was much appreciated. Rosaria also made us coffee so that was lovely. The apartment is ace. Probably one of the cleanest so far. Newly renovated. Great outside space and a small balcony on the other side of the apartment. Local to uptown. Plenty of small grocery stores. Just head right. Bit of a trip to the beach but you can always walk down and then catch the novetta (mini bus) to the top for 1 euro. Overall I will come back to this place without hesitation. Has everything you need. 6 stars!!

    Lana2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great. Much better than I expected. Everything was clean and we had all the things we needed. The host was very nice to us and gave us a ride from the bus to the location and when we left also. This really surprised us. Everything was great and the view from the balcony breathtaking. I recommend the place :)

  • We loved staying at Max's place! Although we did not meet max in person, his friend Rugiada took care of us and she was so welcoming! The view from this balcony is surreal - there is an outdoor shower that will make you feel like a king/queen! If you are looking for a private oasis (and are able to walk up lots of steps), this will be an amazing place for you.

    Clara2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We were very disappointed: The room is tiny, maybe 14 sqm inclusive the bathroom, nearly half of the room is only 2 meter wide. There is not even place for a table. If the sun is shining, you have a nice balcony to sit, but if not...The photos were very professionally done, even the balcony with the view, because you don't see that looking down you see a lot of parking slots..we wanted to leave as soon as possible..

  • Our target for the trip to Amalfi - Coast was to get a nice little place with a nice sight to share some hours of sleeping and having a wine in the evening. And therefore it was really good! A kitchen was integrated in an external room besides the entrance of the sleeping area. It is equiped with everything you need so far to perform small meals and so on. --> better for sure, is to dicover the restaurants and bars on the Coast! The sea food is pretty good there (tasted in salerno)! Overall the Service was excellent and performed from Rugiada, a very nice person and helps us with little questions we had immediately! As well Max was available by using the mobile. Overall it is a very nice place if you want to discover and need a place to rest and enjoy breakfast and a glas of local wine in the evening watching the sun goes down. BR

  • Max's home was absolutely beautiful! It was on a steep cliff with a breathtaking view of the water...a great way to wake up every am. Max himself was a terrific, kind host who was very helpful in everyway! His place was very clean, and exactly as pictured & described. I enjoyed staying in Vietri sul Mare b/c it was a small town on the water & very peaceful but yet lots of entertainment on the beach or on the streets. We stayed there for 4 days & took the ferry from Salerno to Positano & Capri.....great day trip, one that cannot be missed! We are already planning another trip back to Vietri sul Mare & hope to stay at Max's again:)

    Kathy2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful week. We have visited some small villages around including Amalfi and understood that Vietri is a place for people who want to see real Italy. And Max is a amazing person. We arrived very late because we staid al Rome and our train came late, but Max met us and showed us Vietri and told us about everything. The separate kitchen is wonderful and contains almost everything for people who prefer to cook by themselves (in Vietri you can find fresh fish, seafood, good meat and great vegetables and fruits). In pleasant bedroom you can find big bed, air conditioner (that really helped us to feel good in afternoon and nights). The place of Max is very nice also because of wonderful decoration (great mosaic in the kitchen and nice pictures in the bedroom). The most important thing is THE VIEW from the terrace! You can spend there days and nights! But it doesn’t mean that You will have the lazy rest! If you want to have some kind of sport, you have almost 200 steps to reach the town and return back) And if You will take with You a bottle of nice wine, plums, tomatoes and a quarter of giant watermelon, your training will be very useful! Also that is important that You have two bus stop (of SITA and CTSP – one upstairs and another downstairs) near the house. If You want to have some energy before climbing to the house there is nice café Eco del Mare with cafe, «gelato» and desserts right before the stairs! Thank You Max!

  • Perfect apartment in Vietri Sul Mare!Great communication with Max before arrival and Rugiada was there to greet us and answer any questions we had. Everything was clean and as pictured. Fully equipped kitchen to cook and enjoy the beautiful view!

  • Max was a wonderful host. He answered questions very quickly and was really helpful. He gave us helpful advices and if we needed help, we feeled always welcome. The place in vietri is wonderful with a fantastic view. It is nice to sit there and take a look across the beautiful sea. Vietri is a nice little town, with small shops and interesting ceramic art. Big supermarkets you will not find here, but there is everything you need in the small shops. Max had coffee, sugar, oil etc. in the kitchen, so we had not to buy everything at all. That was helpfull. The Sita busses are sometimes problematic, because they are not really reliable. But from Salerno are ships and boats and they are much much better. Enjoy the amazing view by boat at the breathtaking view! Max also has two lovely cats, we really like.

  • One of the most beautiful places we visited on airbnb. View from the apartment exactly as shown on the picture. Very comfortable, great place to stay. There is absolutely nothing wrong I can say about this place. Only disadvantage I travelling around the countryside. We didn't have a car and we used sita buses - it was terrible, overcrowded, unreliable. If you look for a base to discover the Amalfi coast than Max place is still great, but it is better to rent a car.

Beautiful apartment of 140 square meters , located in Vietri sul Mare , the Marina village , in a palace of the late nineteenth century in the countryside and just a short walk from the sea ( 50 m), in the silence and tranquility.
The apartment is very large, measuring 140 mq.Is at about 150 meters from the sea. There is also a parking space , reserved and included in the price , in the courtyard. Air conditioning is not there as being surrounded by a beautiful garden with old trees and having the ancient perimeter walls of the apartment is cool in summer and warm in winter. There is , however, a heating system .
la tranquillità, la pace e la vicinanza al mare.

  • Unfortunately this was a very bad experience. We planned to stay for 7 days for the Xmas week, but we have resigned on the 5th day an moved to a hotel. Three main problems: (1) Very very loud. From the upper floor we heard people walking on heels, running, slam doors, moving furniture all the time, music passed through the walls. From early morning until late night, there was no option to relax. Even at night we heard people snoring (an example to show the acoustics) ! We haven’t slept a night normally – we were always woken up by the neighbors. We informed the host about the situation. He replied that he already discussed in the past with the neighbor above and even quarrels didn’t change it. No solution. (2) Very cold. Heating was permanently turned off. We received 3x portable heaters. They helped a little, but to keep the bedroom warm they had to be turned on at night. Trying to sleep with full lights is a bad experience (when turned on they gave very bright light). As for the other rooms – the big room wasn’t possible to be warmed up even leaving the heaters turned on for the whole day and because of this we had to avoid that room. (3) Mold on walls. We arrived late and didn’t see this at night. The next day we were surprised seeing that part of the corridor is in mold (this is not really healthy). And one problem more: (4) No sleep in 5 days was more than enough, so we decided to leave earlier. We presented the situation to Francesco. At first he accepted to refund us for the 2 days of resignation. But after we have left he changed his mind and refused. It was very unpleasant for us to hear that in his opinion we doubt of his goodwill and therefore he won’t repay us for the 2 missing days as agreed. Unfortunately we had reasons to doubt of the quality of this house (we've read opinions prior booking, and we’re shocked that something like this happened to us). (5) When leaving the house we forgot one piece of luggage – he didn’t call us to inform despite he was at the place, we were lucky noticing it by our own and returning to take it. As for the positive sides: (1) Parking - closed private access with remote control. (2) Localization - Amalfi Coast speaks for itself, really close to the beach and city centre. (3) The house is really big and the old villa looks nice.

  • Francesco was an exceptional host, very responsive, providing great assistance and even pointers on local activities. The location is great for beach access and only a few minutes from all of the shopping in Vietri sul Mare. The apartment is quite spacious and very well appointed. We'll be back for sure!

  • The apartment was a lovely place to stay. It is in a great location - near the Marina, and a nice quiet area. However it is close to restaurants and shops - a nice little butchers and small grocery store. To go into the centre of Veitri Sul Mare was an easy 20 minute walk (albeit uphill). The apartment itself is big and spacious, with lovely touches: ceramics, high ceilings and many windows. The Apartment looks over a lovely garden and the river nearby.

  • The most special traditional appartment in an old family pallazo. Tucked away from the hectic noise of tourism and so a tranquil stylish escape from the Amalfi madness which we also loved. Francesco was there to meet us to help lead us to the appartment. He was kind and very helpful.

  • Francesco's place is absolutely amazing! We stayed in Vietri Sul Mare for 5 nights and absolutely fell in love w the place. We stayed at the beginning of September and the weather was perfect but tourists minimal which was perfect. It's a 5 min walk to the beach and on the way there are a number of restaurants you can choose from that all have amazing food. There is a small butcher and deli around the corner and a small store for some basics. The town centre is about a 10min walk uphill but I think there is a bus you can take as well. It has ceramic shops everywhere and lots of restaurants. The apartment is cool even in the heat and the beds are comfortable. I loved the apartment and town so much I'm planning on coming back next year! The only thing that I would advise is that you get in depth directions to the place as our GPS didn't have the streets but we managed to get down to the water and somehow Francesco was standing on the street and recognized our confused and lost faces and showed us where to go!!

  • A charming home just steps to beaches and restaurants. Vietre Sul Mare is a lovely town and we easily could have stayed for a third or fourth day. Francesco was a great host. He left breakfast items, snacks, and when we couldn't get a taxi he drove us to the train. We highly recommend this house.

  • Francesco was very welcoming and kind upon arrival. The place is incredible with the most intricate, antique items. My husband and I had a wonderful time exploring Vietri Sul Mare and even ate at the restaurant Francesco recommended. I would stay here again.

Raito is on the Amalfi coast, close to the famous ceramic town, Vietri, and just 10 minutes from Salerno, active and lovely southern city. Our house has large living with fireplace, kitchen, two bathrooms, three bedrooms and two large terraces.
  • Everthing was OK. The house is comfortable for living and has all required equipment and all facilities. There is enough and a very convinient space both inside and outside the house. The location is a very good to discover the Amalfi coast and the nearest cites like Naples, Salerno, Capri. From the terrace You can see the sea. There is a fantastic silence in the morning and You can hear only the birds. The house is clean. Just 100 - 200 m from the house is the Amalfi coast road, but there is no any noise from that. The owners are very kind and provided us a full information about the house and how to get it. This is a really very "kind and warm" internal envirioment inside the house which creates a very pleasant feeling during the staying. Many thanks to the owner .

  • The house in Vietri sul Mare is lovely. There is a big livingroom with the kitchen at the end (out of sight). On one site of the house you find a masterbedroom (with doors to the main terras) and a childrens bedroom divided by a bath room with shower, sink and toilet. On the other site is an other masterbedroom with his own bathroom with bath/shower sink and toilet. This room has Its own terras! The main terras is beautiful with aan nice view ons the sea! We rate this house with aan 9!!!

  • We spent a great week at Francesca's house which is perfectly positioned for exploring the area (without the crowds) The house was as described, offering a spacious and comfortable place for us to stay. She emailed us a list of suggestions of things to do in the area which we found very helpful. I would highly recommend this place for a family (great for children) or a group of people. We were extremely lucky with the weather and were able to eat breakfast outside on the the terrace with a lovely view.

  • This occasion was our first time to use Airbnb and we were not disappointed at all. Although Francesca mentioned that they can not be there at our arrival everything went very well. We spent 7 days in Vietri Sul Mare, stayed in a Silence house. The place is nice just as the photos show. Everything was clean and tidy. We felt ourselves at home from the first minute. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable. We travelled with our 5 year old son, and he did enjoyed a place very much. It is very child-friendly. He had his own room with children toys, what was really good, because he was not bored at all while we stayed in the house Environment is lush and nice, the view is also pretty seeing the sea and the boats on the water. A bit tricky, but not impossible to have a walk to the beach and down to restaurants (takes about 20 min., with a little child) from the house, but we find a bit dangerous at night to do the same thing. I think it is very useful to have a car. Francesca and Dario are very good hosts. They were very helpful and reliable from the firs moment. The email answers were very quick. I called them few times and they always answered the phone. The instructions for the house were very useful, plus the information about the nearest places were very accurate. I will recommend to my friends this place if they want to visit this part of Italy. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back some day to Silence house.

    Athene2015-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Spent 15 nights here. The house is beautiful inside, even more beautiful than we expected from the photos. It has all the things you might need (blankets, towels, scissors, food processor...) that many airbnbs lack. And an INCREDIBLE amount of toys, so perfect for any kid. Cons: *The house has a bad case of black mold. When we arrived, it must have just been cleaned (though not irradicated). So we did not see it at first, but each day we were there, it spread further from the corners of the ceiling. It is mostly in the kitchen and the rest of that side of the house (guest bedroom, and bathroom with the bathtub). My husband and I have allergies, and we were there with our toddler and my mother-in-law. We all were very sick (cold/allergy symptoms) the whole time we were there, so when we saw the mold, this seemed to ne the reason. Our sickness cleared up as soon as we moved on to our next stop in Italy. To her credit, Francesca responded immediately when I emailed her about it, and she offered to refund us if we chose to leave. I expected her to deny knowing about the mold, but she actually said she had never heard that mold could be harmful to health. I am going to believe her and attribute this to a cultural difference, but if you have a mold allergy and/or want to avoid it, this house is not for you. *Not only is there no wifi. Internet is actually somehow blocked when you are in the house. To use my phone with its tourist SIM card (from TIM), I had to go down the stairs and a little bit away from the house. This made trip-planning difficult, as it rained a lot, and we did not have a car, so it was hard to plan bus/walking routes without internet in the house. Obviously, this will not be a problem for everyone and could even be a plus if you are hoping to fully unplug. *While most of the time, Silence House is a fitting name, we were woken up 3 times by someone in the upstairs of the house playing guitar and singing With or Without You by U2 with his amp on. I do not know if he is there all year. Thankfully, the baby slept through it, but we could not. I think it was right above the master bedroom. I am torn. Francesca, in her correspondence, was so nice. The house is so lovely, as well as the terraces and all the natural surroundings. Even without a car, we were able to explore everything from Positano to Amalfi to Vietri to Salerno to Paestum to Pompei to Napoli. The toys make for a kids' paradise. For us, though, the black mold was an obvious dealbreaker. I believe people deserve to know and then can make a decision for themselves.

    Darcy2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house is more like a flat. All is very clean, tasteful and practical. In the flat you get what you see on the pictures, really nice. The way down to the beach goes sharp downhill/uphill and takes ca 20 minutes one way. You have to walk a bit on the main traffic road. To stay in this flat you should have a car. Dario and Francesca were very helpful on the phone and all was understandable and fine.

Vielen Dank! Michael

We hired a car to drive around the coast but there seemed to be a regular bus from the centre. Would recommend to anyone!

Il Piliero is a characteristic XIX century spacious house, plunged into a walled garden, and surrounded by the sea, the sky and the green slopes of mount Falerio. The focus of the house is the terrace from where you enjoy an enchanting view.
Il Piliero is a typical spacious Amalfi Coast house on two floors surrounded by a walled garden; you enter the house through a terrace with a magnificient view of the sea and the steep coast. The house is near the church of Raito, close to the main and only road where you leave your car and go down the stairs that lead to the house. You found everything you need in the local shops: bar, grocer, butcher, newsagent, chemist... The atmosphere of the house is really special and inspiring, often the guest enjoy just sitting on the terrace watching the immensity of the sea and sky. On the ground floor there is a sitting room, a dining room (both which open on to the terrace), a kitchen and a bathroom. On the first floor there are two big rooms and a bathroom. One bedroom has a double bed and the possibility of a folding bed, the other one has two single/one double bed plus one bunk bed.
  • Paola's house is something special. It is very homely and well equipped and the view is spectacular. Raito is a lovely village away from the hustle and bustle of the coast road and other towns but not too far away that you cannot easily visit. We ate at two lovely restaurants in the village and the supermarket and grocers were great. Just lovely.

    Sue2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Paola's house is every bit as lovely as the pictures. The view from the terrace and both bedrooms is gorgeous. We found the kitchen to be well stocked with dishes and cookware, and plenty of maps and guides for the area were provided.

  • This place is absolute heaven (with a view). The house has a very special feel to it and is so tastefully decorated – the garden with lemon and orange trees just adds to the amazing setting. Beds are extremely comfortable and the bedrooms a great size with high ceilings– kitchen well equipped and two other sitting/chilling areas to enjoy. Terrace is also a great place to have an aperitivo and eat or to just take in the stunning view. Great location to explore the area – we used the local shops in Raito for most of our supplies which was very convenient. Our host Paola was most responsive and attention to detail in the lead up to our holiday. Annamaria who greeted us was charming and helpful. We did not want to leave – we will definitely return! Thank you Paola.

  • Luca is an excellent host, very friendly and helpful. Gave us all the information we needed for a perfect stay at the Amalfi Coast. He even invited us to a glass of Prosecco! What a hearty welcome. The Villa is functional, clean, well equipped and we enjoyed our stay even on days with rain. The views from the terraces - there is more than one - are fantastic. Highly recommended.

  • Wow!! What a spot in the world!! The views are stunning from every angle! The host Luca could not have done anything more for us, before we arrived was very helpful - we have a 6 month old baby and Luca arranged a cot, pram/stroller, high chair, foods, bottle warmer - you name it and it was provided. Truly amazing! Any questions or requests were answered in seconds! The space is really special - 360 degree views of the Amalfi coast - every time you look, you see something else, a beautiful spot in the world. In addition the layout of the house caters for a family or larger group, in essence 3 great spaces including bedrooms that feel separate, but together. This means everyone can enjoy their own space and be together too. The jacuzzi looking out over the sea is special. The location is also great, with a lovely beach in walking distance and our favourite Murino just a short drive away. You can drive to Positano and Sorrento if you dare (hairy roads) and the local towns ville de mare have all that you need. We liked the fact that this house was at the start of the Amalfi coast and was not in a touristy spot. we had a magical week with our family, lots of laughing, great food and family time in a fantastic spot. Lucky you if you stay here!

  • We had an incredible stay here! However, in an effort to be transparent to other Airbnb guests, I'm going to be honest about our trip. During our 10-days in Amalfi, we encountered several problems in the home (our gas, water heater, electricity, and WIFI all went out at different times during our stay.) In spite of those minor challenges, this is a LOVELY home in an INCREDIBLE location. Our host was gracious and very communicative, and resolved all of those issues quickly. He provided snacks and drinks in the home, free of charge. He offered many suggestions for restaurants and fun local activities. We would definitely stay here again - the host is terrific and the home is in a dream-location. The pictures truly don't do it justice!

  • Beautiful big house in a great location. The view over the Amalfi coastline and the Salerno port is breathtaking. The house is very well equipped and clean. The parking space that was even big enough for our SUV was much appreciated. Even though we unfortunately never had a chance to meet Luca personally he was always available over the phone and the communication was extremely warm and friendly. He gave us plenty of advice concerning activities in the area and arranged a great boat trip to Capri for us.

Taxi service into Cetara where you can get a water boat to almost all the othe villages on the Amalfi coast.Cetara has everything you need plus some amazing hidden beaches. Our trip was 4 ladies for 4 days without a car and Luca was such a fantastic host, going above and beyond to help us to arrange airport transfers (including a stop off to buy food and drink provisions), taxis, a boat trip and even a dinner reservation! We all felt very reassured to know that he was happy to help us due to our Italian not being very extensive! The villa has stunning views and the hot tub (set to cool) was an added extra to cool off in. The kitchen is very well equipped as too are the bedrooms, the living room area is also stunning. Without a car we did rely on the local taxi service to get us around. The system is more like a shuttle service. You call a mobile number for the driver and they come and get you when they are next able to. To Cetara or Erchie is fine (€2 or €3 per person) but to Vietri Sul Mare wasn't so easy as it is out of the region - even though you can see it as being very close! Just a different system from the uk but once we worked it out it was all fine! Cetara was lovely in the evening with lots of places to eat and a very busy atmosphere at the weekend. Erchie is much smaller and was very very busy on the beach in July on a Sunday! Luca organised a skipper of a speed boat for us for €320 from 9am - 6pm who took us up the whole coast all the way to Positano. He stopped at places for us to swim and snorkel as well as into a cave! A fantastic day and a brilliant way to see the whole coast. There is a restaurant in walking distance from the villa which is essentially set up in someone's garden amongst the lemon groves. A great meal (with no menu!), they just brought lots and lots of delicious dishes out to us for approx €35 each (including an amazing bottle of red wine). Again a very different experience to anything we get in the UK and definitely one to do! We can't wait to hopefully return!

My accommodation is in Raito, which offers a splendid panorama of the Gulf of Salerno, tranquility and fresh air. You can make excursions, trips to the beach and visits to the Museum of Ceramics of Villa Guariglia. The house is a typical construction with vaulted ceilings and terraces overlooking the sea and the surrounding lemon groves. Secure parking
Cozy house with panoramic views in a village of the Amalfi Coast.
  • There is no wi-fi in the house, but this is not a big problem. Also there was no air conditioner. The streets are very narrow and there is a risk of damaging your car. The lizards were constantly crawling into the house, which frightened me greatly. In the rest everything was fine! The owners gave us products of local production.

  • La casa di Anna is much more than what we expected. The house itself, the location in this wonderful village and the proximity with so many spots made our stay unforgettable. Simona is a very nice person.

  • This villa was so cute! We had a great time! The family was very nice and even picked us up from the train station and left some food items for us to enjoy :)

    Jessica2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • La casa di Anna is a beautiful house in a small mountain village. Waking up with the amazing view on the sea is great. The house contains everything to make a visit worthwhile! I would definetely recommend this place to everybody.

  • Simona's place is located in the cute village of Raito, and has an exceptional view on the mountain and the sea, we had wonderful diners on the terrasse. The appartment is quite spacious and confortable, the kitchen is perfectly equipped to cook, Simona was very nice and left us things to cook as we arrived on a Sunday and every grocery store was closed. The village is quiet, which is appreciated after a crowded afternoon on the coast! We highly recommend her place.

    Claire2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place, clean, well-equipped and with a beautiful view of the sea! Raito is a nice small town, away from the thousands of tourists in the Amalfi Coast- however it´s still a very strategic location to visit the area. Overall very good place!

    Gabriela2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Simona's flat is very nice, we had a very pleasant stay there! The view is really great! And Raito is a nice and quiet place to stay and well located to discover the Costiera amalfitana'south. And Simona and her husband are very nice persons, very available and wanting you to have a good stay!

    Estelle2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Simona was very helpful meeting us at the nearby train station and driving us to the apartment. The apartment is beautiful and well appointed, with nice spaces and views of the sea and hillside. Raito is a charming village and seems typical of the Amalfi region - but relatively unspoilt. All in all this was a wonderful experience.

  • Very spacious and clean apartment with a great view of the bay and Salerno harbour. Rita was very helpful throughout the stay and suggested some great restaurants in the village. The main road out of Vietri passes in front of the apartment so there was quite a lot of traffic noise. Also most of the local beach is private in summer!

  • Great place, with a beautiful view. Good location for exploring the Amalfi coast. Rita was a lovely host, very helpful.

Grazie mille Rita!

The house is set in a serene setting, no noise, no noise, ideal for rest. It 'a newly renovated home, consisting of two apartments, separated by a wall opening to the question whether. The first consists of double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and balcony. The second from the master bedroom, a living room with sofa bed, kitchen and balcony. Free internet access. free access to the land owned for walks. It is a typical construction of the area, which in all its parts respects the traditions, the choice of materials and colors. And 'suitable for those who love nature.
DISTANCE FROM THE CENTER INHABITED Casa Flora is located between two small villages perched at the beginning of the Amalfi Coast: Raito and Dawning, about 10-15 min drive from Vietri sul Mare and 20 minutes drive from Salerno, but the house is surrounded by land, in front the sea and the huge Mount Falerzo
  • Flora was very welcoming, the house was a bit hard to find when you hadn't been there before, but she and her brother Mario did the best job explaining by mail and coming to the street to meet us there. Once arrived Mario took the luggage to take it upstairs (more than 150 stairs!). The house is amazing, materials are well chosen, has wonderful views, well furnished and clean. You can see that Flora is an architect. The materials The view over the mountains and the sea is splendid, we will remember this for a very long time. It's a good place to visit the Amalfi Coast from there. Flora is very helpful and gave good tips on the region. One day we had booked ferry tickets to Capri, but we needed the printed tickets to go on the boat. As we didn't have a printer at the house, she came to the house after a work dinner to get us the tickets. That was really nice of her. The Amalfi Coast is an amazing place to go on holiday, it's very steep area but really worth the visit. Staying at Casa Flora makes the experience whole. Worth the stay!

    Emmanuelle2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in one of Flora's appartment with its outstanding view on the sea. The house itself is not too easy to reach and a small car is recommended, as you have to pass very very narrow streets and you should be an experienced driver (which counts for all the region...)! To finally reach the house you need to walk up the long stairs, but you will be rewarded with a fantastic view and a nice old - but freshly being renovated villa with several appartments and a long splendid garden along the mountains. After a few misunderstandings at the beginning of our stay everything could be resolved and Flora and her father were friendly and caring hosts. To reach the coast and the beaches you need a car or you could maybe use the regular buses (which we never did) - only be aware, that during summertime the Costiera Amalfitana is overcrowded with cars and parking space is hard to find and can be expensive near to the beaches. We greatly recommend a trip to the island of Capri - despite the many tourists and its prices there are beautiful paths to discover!!

  • Flora and brother Mario was an amazing and outstanding host. Me and husband arrived late in the evening, despite that, flora was very helpful and communicated with us all the way. When we arrived, Marion helped with my suitcase (such a darling) and we was shown around the the apartment. Honestly, everything about the apartment made our holiday perfect. From the morning sea View to the balcony breakfast! It was just simply Perfect!!

  • Perfect location, the apartment is brand new, clean. The view is awesome and Flora was a great host: available, eager to help and friendly

  • A real gem that offers exceptional value. This lovely little collection of apartments is ideally situated among gardens and lemon groves and offers stunning views. The building has been freshly renovated by Flora and Mario and offers a stylish and modern option for those looking for something that wonderfully combines a heritage building with contemporary touches. Flora is actually an architect and it is clear she has put her heart and soul into this project. If you're looking for a private location with a beautiful natural setting this is the place for you. The building is surrounded on all sides by wonderful gardens, patios, and orchards. They are all accessible to guests and offer a great place to lounge during the day or to catch a bit of sun. Being able to take morning strolls through the gardens with my daughter was a real highlight. Outdoor showers are a nice touch too and really handy on hot days. The apartment itself is very comfortable and well furnished. The decor is modern and all the finishes from tiles, to windows and doors are all hi-end. Both the window in the bedroom and the one in the living room have a small french balcony so they can be fully opened. The views are exceptional. There is also a nice little terrace to the side that comes off the kitchen. It's a little small and offers no shade but still very handy for a quick meal at the bistro table. It just about also manages to fit a sun lounger and there is also an outdoor shower which is a nice touch. Flora is a wonderful host who was always available to us whenever we had any issues and took great care to ensure we were comfortable. She speaks excellent english and is easy to get along with. We only had a few minor issues with our stay. From the street where you would park your car or take a bus you need to ascend about 9 stories to get to the apartment. It's a bit of a climb with groceries but one that I'm sure is typical of the amalfi coast. While the apartment was well furnished and has a nice, if not very small kitchen, it was not very well provisioned so if you are looking to cook you will struggle a little. As an example you won't find any wine glasses (even though you are in Italy!) But there was one brandy glass and one champagne glass ... which made sharing a bottle of wine a little awkward. :) The biggest challenge however is the location which is very far away from the main sites and not very convenient. Amalfi is an hour drive and Positano is 1.5hrs. It's a struggle to get anywhere but you do have the advantage of being in a cute little village in a spot that is very tranquil and surrounded by nature ... you wouldn't get that in the middle of Amalfi. Overall we...

    Jakub2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great-close enough to the busy Amalfi coast shops, but the property itself is secluded and private and quiet. The house and the lands surrounding it are truly stunning. It's high on a mountain, surrounded by beautiful gardens, trees, and then of course, the magnificent sea. We faced the water, so we went to sleep and woke up with the endless beauty of the sea, and our balcony overlooked the garden below, the continuing mountains on either side, and again, the turquoise sea. The kitchen is beautiful, as is the bathroom and bedroom, and Flora is an amazing host-very responsive, kind, and helpful. She made sure we had everything we needed for the most amazing time on the Amalfi Coast.

    Cem2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Flora's place was just amazing! The apartment, the property and the breathtaking views are even more beautiful than the pictures show. Flora was the perfect host, very friendly and caring. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay at the amalficoast. We already miss it and hope to be back soon! Thanks again Flora!

    Carolin2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Flora is such a wonderful host, very accommodating! The place is so beautiful and we couldn't get over the view and it's proximity to the rest of the Amalfi coast towns. It's so quiet yet so close to the action. We will definitely visit again! Emily & James

  • I spent one week in "Casa Maria" and felt like home! The apartment has everything you need (and even more) and if there should be something you need on top, Roberta and her lovely mum would help you immediately! It's like being a family member, but without any pressure :) It was just perfect! And because I was by myself I was really greatful to count on such great service. Vietri is a small but really cute city with a lot of small shops where you can find anything to make you a delicious dinner or breakfast which you can enjoy on the beautiful balcony. With a stunning view! After a 5 minutes walk you reach the calm beach. The apartment is also a good base point to explore the amalfi coast - by bus (SITA) or by ferry from Salerno. I definitely recommend this city, this apartment and these nice people! :)

  • Great spot with a lovely view. It is for the brave though to get there, small windy road, at times really very small (certainly when other cars come in the opposite directions). At the end of this road you arrive in the village where parking is again tricky... Then you have to walk into the village and climb a lot of stairs... But then: that is the price for the view (truly beautiful). The apartment is perfect, clean and cool (AC). I was a bit disappointed in the Amalfi Coast... It is just SO packed. Far too many people. We didn't even go to the beach. The roads and the beaches where just packed. But it was a weekend in july. Maybe other periods are better.

  • Overall very good stay at Gioacchino. Although we did not meet him, his neighbors Mr and Mrs Condecetti were extremely kind and made us feel like home at Albori. The apartment is clean and has pretty much all the amenities. Last but not least, the views are spectacular and are worth the 2 buses and the stairs to get to Albori house

    Felipe2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gioacchino's place was amazing! Up a winding staircase and path is a beautiful terrace showing a lovely view of the village church, sea, and mountain range behind the Amalfi. The apartment is spacious, and was perfectly suited for my needs. The feng-shui was great, too, it is clear that Gioacchino spent time considering a space that would feel comfortable and relaxing for the guests, offering more places to sit and relax than just a kitchen table. Skylights offer much more light without adding extra heat than is normally found in southern Italy. Super clean, newly renovated, and quiet. Gioacchino offered me and my friend a coffee the next morning on the terrace, which was a great way to spend the morning because he is a lovely person to chat with. Will definitely stay again!

Beautiful apartment located on the Amalfi Coast with breathtaking views of the cliffs of Vietri sul Mare. The large terrace overlooking the Gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi coast gives the joyful excitement of being immersed in a unique nature and experience the magic of a quiet fishing village. A paradise at 2km from Salerno, close to restaurants, beach, nightlife and public transport. My accommodation is suitable for couples and families (with children).
Ciò che rende unico l’appartamento è il terrazzo con la vista mozzafiato.
A 3 km dalle luci d’artista, fantastica attrazione natalizia.
  • A beautiful flat really close to the beach. The terrace was great for eating breakfast while looking out over the sea. We went for a trip to Pompeii from the flat and that was easily done by taking the local train. There was also a ferry that takes you to the coast line that we tried and that was well wroth the trip. The host was super freindly and helpful giving us a ride to the train station on our departure. Overall I would recommend this to families or anyone who wants to chill by the coast while still having the option of seeing the rich culture of the area.

  • The apartment was absolutely wonderful with amazing views from the balcony...Annarosa was a great host and gave us all the information that we needed. She had stocked up the house with a lot of things like pasta, vegetables etc which we could use, which was a great plus. There were no buses from the bus stop in front of the house due to non tourist season but calling for a taxi was no problem at all. Had a great couple of days here and would recommend the apartment to future travellers.

  • This was an unexpected gem in a very small town. The apartment is spacious, bright, with great views even from one of the bathrooms!! Very nicely renovated with beautiful local tile work. Fully stocked kitchen and all other needs we met and very nice welcoming details. We enjoyed the balcony on the evenings sipping some adult beverages :-) slower pace than the rest of amalfi coast, something we wanted!!! Annarosa was very nice. Had some trouble finding the last 10 blocks to the house. The only downside is if u don't speak some Italian, her English is not very good if u need to talk to her. GPS had some issues finding some of the streets. Still this was one of my favorite places to stay. Totally recommend it

  • Beautiful apartment with stunning views to the Amalfi coastline. The apartment is a large and can accomodate up to six people. It contains two double bedrooms, two full bathrooms in addition to a double sofabed in the living room. The beach is just down the road, and Vietri sul Mare is the perfect location to explore Napoli, Salerno an the Amalfi coast. The apartment has a private garage, but access with a larger car is challenging. There is free parking in the street, but it could be hard to find a free slot. Annarosa was the perfect host. Warm, welcoming and informative throughout our stay. We recommend the place and would be happy to come back :)

  • We had a wonderful time at Annarosa's place. It is very quiet and the only thing that you can hear is the sound of the waves and seagulls. Although sometimes you see the fireworks at the beach and hear their sounds too, which is nice! When we couldn't find a cab at the train station Annarosa and her cousin came to pick us up quickly and they were extremely kind and helpful. From the house you can easily access to the beach by walk and to Salerno by Bus. The place is very clean and well-equipted so you need almost nothing to bring. The panoramic view of the balconies is astonishing and we are looking forward to enjoying our next vacation time at her house one more time.

  • This apartment is so beautiful! It is perfect for a holiday by the beach. The view of the sea and the Almafi coast amazing. Annarosa and her family were so kind and welcoming. They even picked us up from the train station, showed us around the town and spoiled us with a welcome gift! The town if Vietri is also very beautiful, walkable and full of culture. The apartment is close to lots of bars and restaurants, but it also feels private and quiet with the sound of the ocean right outside the door. We will definitely be back!

  • Annarosa was a perfect host. The apartment was comfortable, clean, well located, well decorated, and offered every comfort. Scenic view. Everything that was promised in the description and more. We would book again in a heartbeat!

Il Melograno on the Amalfi Coast is less than two minutes from the historic house and gardens of Villa Guariglia . You can visit the main villa (Ceramic Museum and the old 16th Church which belonged to the ambassador Guariglia ) and the marvellous park overlooking the sea ,where in spring and summer classical music concerts take place. To walk through such an extraordinary village, called Albori, declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO, means climbing narrow stairways and pedestrian streets. ( the protected wood, valley and beach of Albori). The whole area is made for pedestrians, except for the only access road and the main street. Here you will be able to experience the fascination and authentic beauty of the Amalfi Coast: one not spoilt by the effects of tourism! The Melograno B & B is situated just off an old pedestrian mule path a few yards away from a street where you will find shops and a bus stop. In order to reach this street, all you have to do is walk along a pedestrian stairway , with 35 steps, for about 150 meters (about 492 feet). You don’t need a car during your stay at the Melograno B & B , but in case you have one, you can park in a free public area. The beach During your stay at the Melograno, you will be close to some of the most typical beaches of the Amalfi Coast, which you can reach by boat, departing from the beach of Vietri Marina To reach the beach you can take the local bus which stops about 150 meters (approximately 400 feet) away from the B & B. The local minibus stops at the Village of Vietri sul Mare, Vietri Marina, Raito and Albori, considered one of most beautiful villages in Italy. Other larger, nearby beaches are those in Erchie and Cetara, about 4 km (approximately 7 miles) away. Nearby tourist attractions in a three days lenght of time guests will be easily able to visit: - Amalfi, Positano and Ravello. The whole Divine Amalfi Coast. In summer frequent hydrofoil services ( 1 hour ) connect Salerno to Capri, Sorrento and Ischia ( 1 day trip ) - most fascinating Pompei and Ercolano ancient roman ruins ( and a look to Naples ). ( 1 day trip ) - Paestum enchanting sunset on greek temples ( and a look to Salerno ). ( 1 day trip ) frequent air conditioned modern bus service are running all year around in the Amalfi Coast. Naples is connected by bus and train services private cars at reasonable prices available from May to September frequent hydrofoil services to Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Ischia in a day excursion ( from Salerno port ) Staying at B & B Il Melograno means you will enjoy a place which is not too crowded with tourists but have the chance to do all the leisure activities that the Amalfi Coast has to offer ,right at hand. Raito di Vietri Sul Mare is located halfway between Paestum and Amalfi, about 14 km (approximately 8.6 miles) away from both towns. From Raito you can easily reach all the tourist points of interest on the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Coast as well as Naples, Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, and the islands of Capri and Ischia. You can conveniently use both the service of the local bus which goes from Raito di Vietri Sul Mare and the service of the SITA bus, which connects Vietri Sul Mare with Amalfi and Sorrento. Both services are comfortable and economical. From Vietri Sul Mare Station, you can take local trains to reach Pompeii, Herculaneum, the Vesuvius, and Naples in less than one hour. Even Paestum and the coast of the Parco Nazionale del Cilento (Cilento National Park) are easily reached either by bus or train. In Amalfi and Positano you will be able to take ferries or hydrofoils to visit the coasts of Amalfi and Sorrento, the coast of the Cilento National Park, and also the islands of Capri and Ischia. You can also rent boats or join daily and nightly mini-cruises along the coast. Staying at B & B Il Melograno will enable you to visit the famous beaches of the Amalfi Coast, go shopping for fashion and the best handcrafted articles, and experience the numerous top-quality folklore, artistic, musical, Ceramic, and cultural events which take place throughout the year. Not to be missed by classical music enthusiasts are the famous concerts held during the Festival of Ravello, and for those who are fond of trekking, there are trails which unravel through the mountains of the coast, among which the most famous one is the “Sentiero degli Dei” (Path of the Gods), so called for the breathtaking beauty of this panoramic walk.
  • Raito is very beautiful small village with quite good transport connections. Rosa and Marco are very warm, kind and helpful hosts. Marco picked up us from the station in Salerno and advised everything - where to eat, to walk, how to travel. Rosa prepared for us fresh coffee and cornetti and supplied with fresh vegetables and fruits from their garden. Our rooms were absolutely fantastic! Very clean, with a lot of space and with the most beautiful sight that anyone can imagine!!! Dear Rosa and Marco, grazie mille, tornerà con piacere ancora!

  • Marco was an outstanding host who continually checked on us to make sure we were being taken care of. The steps are a little bit of a challenge, but if you are going to the Amalfi Coast, that is to be expected. Loved the place, loved Marco and hope we get a chance to go back. I would recommend his place without hesitation.

  • Our experience with Rosa and Marco in Raito was truly exceptional. We knew that the Amalfi Coast and Salerno was beautiful, but we hadn't expected to find such incredibly warm, engaging and thoroughly gracious hosts here. We had driven from the Adriatic Coast in Puglia, so when we arrived, we were hot and a little road weary. Rosa and Marco had provided excellent instructions, so we found their B&B easily even though it is tucked away up the steep slope of the Amalfi. Marco accompanied us (and our luggage) up the footpath and stairway that led to the most breathtaking view I've seen in a long time. Since the B&B is accessible only on foot, we experienced a tranquility that astonished us from the minute we arrived. The rooms in the B&B are spacious, with high ceilings and large, shuttered windows. One room, in particular, has a stunning view of the Mediterranean and the port of Salerno below. The kitchen is big enough to cook in, but not dominant. The absolute gem of this facility are the terraces. They are oriented in such a way that you can see the village of Raito, the town of Vietri sul Mare with its gorgeous ceramic-domed cathedral, the broad expanse of the sea below and the town and port of Salerno. Whether it was day or night, we never tired of this view. We especially liked that the B&B is located in a village that isn't completely (or obviously) inundated by tourism. We were able to explore the Amalfi Coast and nearby Salerno, but returning to our "home" in Raito made us feel more like locals and less like tourists. Although we had a car, Rosa and Marco were so thoroughly versed on all transportation options that our car was probably unnecessary. And since there are so many great footpaths that tie these small cliffside villages together, we were able to take advantage of some extra exercise opportunities while exploring the area. I really can't say enough about Rosa and Marco. From the extraordinary breakfasts to the lovely basket of just-picked vegetables from their organic garden, they seemed to anticipate every need with enthusiasm. For example, we expressed an interest in the world-famous Amalfi coast lemons, so Rosa had a neighbor pick and deliver some from his own trees. They found a perfect medium between host and new friend--we know we'll stay in touch. We'd recommend Rosa and Marco's lovely aerie to anyone who wants and authentic, gracious experience with kind hosts in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

  • Marco and Rosa are genuine, warm, and wonderful. Our experience in Raito was nothing short of perfect. We loved the fresh fruit and vegetables from their garden, and enjoyed their simple, rustic accommodation with a million dollar view of the sea. Raito itself is a lovely quaint village without a lot of tourism. We enjoyed the lack of tourists very much, and also enjoyed the 1000 steps to the sea (great way to work off the Italian cuisine calories). I wouldn't highly recommend this place.
