“Skyline Skyrides Gondola gives a 'birds eye' view of Queenstown. At the top there are restaurants, viewing decks and the famous luge (downhill adventure - like a toboggan). In the evening, when the sun sets provides magnificent photo opportunity. ”

“Slightly larger supermarket within walking distance, but further away than Alpine.”

“The only way to experience the Shotover Canyons, see their beauty and feel their power, experience a journey with Shotover Jet, the world’s most exciting jet boat ride. A unique combination of beauty and power, it’s an experience like no other, blending pristine natural landscape with wall to wall canyon action from start to finish!”

“For a moderate challenge, starting directly from downtown, visitors can test their legs on the Queenstown Hill Loop Track up to the ‘Basket of Dreams’, a favourite lookout spot. The three-hour walk starts and finishes on Belfast Street, and offers views over the Wakatipu basin to Cecil Peak, the Frankton Arm and Queenstown Bay.”

“We are literally at the base of this iconic mountain range, so hop in your car (all-wheel drive highly recommended in Winter - MUST carry snow chains for your car tyres) & head on up! You can buy a day pass & hire gear if you need to. Group lessons start at 10am & 2pm & you don't need to book in advance - just arrive on the mountain 45-60mins prior to get yourself geared up & ready in time. The facilities are great & the beginner areas are VERY easy. If you need a break, there is a big deck, restaurant, bar, open fireplace & retail store to keep you amused too. We'd appreciate if you let us know prior to arrival if you are bringing ski gear & wish to dry your snow clothes on site - we will do our best to make this possible in the walk in robe. We are a family of skiers & boarders, so you will see us up there at LEAST two days a week if not more!”

“The most iconic photos are taken from the best advantage point you will get in town up at the Skyline. We live just down the road and you are only minutes to the base. For the healthy fit people walk to the base up the track or take the gondola if you want. Once at the top you can check out the observation deck (if your afraid of heights don't look down) The kids love the luge where Dad is still the reigning champ! We are the most competitive family... If you want to eat till you pop come up to the gourmet buffet where you will be able to roll down the hill. The lights at night will mesmerize you perched over the town. ”
