Vacation Rentals in Poynton

Just booked in Poynton

We have a stylish space which is close to the Manchester Airport and 10 mins from City on Train. It is part of our home but still private; you have access via the garden and the space is all on the ground floor. We have recently renovated the whole property so the space has been decorated throughout with a newly fitted luxury shower room and upgraded kitchen. You have the use of the south facing rear garden with three areas for relaxing and or entertaining.
Our abode is quite unique; not the most attractive architecturally but certainly deceptive. I would like to think we have so far made the most of it, I love property and renovation and am an avid DIY perfectionist, much to my wife's frustration.
Our apartment is situated within the Heaton's a popular leafy suburb of Manchester. Located within a few minutes of junction 1 of the M60 the Airport 10 mins, Man United 18 mins, Man City 19 mins, City centre 22 Mins, Stockport Train station 7 mins. We have a good selection of pubs, bars, cafes, cinema and shops all within a 12 min walk. Lots of public transport options, Trams, trains and buses all walkable.
  • It was absolutely amazing! The flat is so superb. Just by entering the flat we felt an instance relaxation. The interior was so great, it felt like being in a fancy hotel. And the garden was so beautiful! It was a pity that it was raining all the day during our short stay but still it was so lovely with this wonderful garden. It's really close to the airport, it's close to public transportation. And Mike is more than generous. The flat had more than just basics provided. The communication with Mike was also really great - quick, helpful. Thank you so much! We had such a wonderful time thanks to you and this beautiful spot!

  • The zone is very peaceful, Mike is a great host. We enjoy a lot our time here. The house is full equipped and they have a coffee machine.

    Hilda2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Mike's beautiful garden flat during a one-week long course in Stockport. Mike was very welcoming and was available during the whole week to assist. The garden apartment is newly refurbished, beautifully finished and full of unexpected, luxury comforts. The neighborhood is very pleasant and the flat is only a short walk to the lovely Heaton Moor which has a wide selection of bars and restaurants. I would recommend this flat to anyone wanting to stay in the Stockport area. Absolutely lovely!

    Silvia2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Mike's flat is really comfortable, well decorated and fitted out to a high standard. The croissants for breakfast went down really well too! Although we didn't use it the garden would be lovely on a warm, sunny day. The info pack Mike put together is very thorough and he very welcoming when we arrived. Would definitely recommend staying at the garden apartment.

    Francesca2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is really nice, very modern everything and very comfortable to stay at - all for a good price

    Andy2015-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a brilliant apartment, incredibly spacious and comfortable with everything you need. A great location and a nice quiet spot, which was ideal as we had a 5 month old baby in tow! Mike was also very helpful - we'll definitely be staying here again next time we're in Manchester.

    Penelope2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirBnB experience and feel Mikes place may have set the bar rather high! The accomadation is better than described, immaculate and of a very high standard. Extremely comfortable beds and beautiful bed linen. We were particularly impressed by Mikes attention to detail, the toiletries in the bathroom, the washing equipment and recycling bins in the utility room and the impressively equipt kitchen which even included, to our delight, an expresso machine, complete with coffee pods and coffee cups in all size including espresso size cups! There were other nice touches, quality olive oil & balsamic vinegar, milk, fresh orange juice and croissants in the freezer which unfortunately we forgot the sample! From the moment we were met at the gate by Mike and the lovely Evie we felt very much at home. Mike ( assisted by Evie! ) gave an excellent tour and explanation of the apartment and was there upstairs if we needed him but was not all intrustive. The parking was good, at the end of a very quiet drive, the entrance gate tithe accomadation was a few strides away and we were able to come and go from our independently without getting involved in a Mikes home. The outside space is lovely and very private - a nice sunny garden with tables and chairs and even a BBQ. We really enjoyed out time at Mikes place, and will most definitely make it our place to stay when we are in the area next time. Thank you Mike, we shall be seeing you.

'The Vestry' is a renovated 1846 church building, now a delightful studio cottage, that can accommodate couples, families or business trips with easy access to Manchester airport/city. On the edge of the Peak District it suits walkers and cyclists and includes a queen-sized sofa bed, 2 single kids beds on the mezzanine level and a single pull out bed (if reqd), bathroom, tea/coffee, fridge and lovely rear deck overlooking our brook and woodland. 5 min walk to village with pubs, shops, eateries.
Lovingly renovated over the past 3 years, we have transformed The Vestry into a calming private sanctuary full of character, history and interest.
Poynton is a lovely small town with a distinctly village feel. It's located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and separated from the Manchester conurbation by a large area of green belt, giving Poynton a semi rural character with a huge amount of green space. We have a great selection of food and drink in the village, and lots of independent shops. We also have a fantastic live music venue - The Acoustic Lounge - with gigs every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • We had such a lovely stay in this gorgeous little vestry - Ian was incredibly helpful and friendly, the area was nice and had lots of delicious restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance and the accommodation itself was clean and tidy, beautifully decorated and brilliantly quirky and fun. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

    Beth2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Emma and Ian were fantastic hosts. We arrived to a warm welcome and found the vestry to be so comfortable and full of character and charm. Everything we needed for our stay was provided. We also got some great recommendations for the next stop on our journey. One of our favorite accommodations during our two week trip in the UK, and one of the best I've experienced on Airbnb.

  • Emma and Ian were fantastic hosts. Ian was very kind, helpful and welcoming. We didnt have the chance of meeting Emma but her touch was everywhere and we would definitely come back and suggest it to anyone looking for a unique space with personal character and details. All the best, Francesco & Aimee (Simone and Fosco as well)

  • Happily situated in the quaint and beautiful town of Poynton, The Vestry is wonderful and amazing flat! It is a gem of a find. The Vestry is a beautiful and amazing flat and place to rest and take in Poynton. If you are fortunate to be able to reserve and book a stay in The Vestry in Poynton, you will find it exceeds your expectations. Close to Lyme Park, wonderful accommodations, knowledgeable and gracious hosts, you cannot go wrong here. So peaceful and beautiful, we loved every minute of it and wished we could have stayed longer. Hope to visit again. Ian and Emma, keep up the amazing work and we hope to see you guys again sometime hopefully sooner than later! Until next time, TJ and Sarah Gates

  • Absolutely enjoyed staying at the Vestry! It is truly lovely, well furnished and decorated, and is incredibly comfortable! The back deck is large and has a bubbling brook you can listen too running behind the deck. The area is quiet and the history of The Vestry is interesting. Emma and Ian are friendly, welcoming, and kind. They provided everything we needed and surprised us with a sweet note and chocolates welcoming us. They are wonderful hosts! Thank you both for the fabulous stay!!

    Ginny2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a truly nice little getaway for me and my partner. Hospitality of the hosts was really good. What the place has to offer is amazing. Attention to detail was immense. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to getaway for a while or just need a short weekend break. We will definitely be visiting again.

    Labeeb2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the vestry! The cottage is so well presented, was very clean and the facilities were great. We were a little bit disappointed that we had evening plans and couldn't just spend the evening by the fire in the cottage. We would definitely stay here again if we were back in the area.

    Jillian2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Vestry is a cosy, quirky place to stay. Our family loved our very short time here. We arrive quite late at night and Emma was very flexible and helpful about this, sending messages to check we were ok along the way. Emma and Ian were most welcoming, a delightful message and goodie bag was a lovely touch too. The main room has a lovely wood burning stove which we lit on arrival and in the morning to provided a very cosy and atmospheric environment. The Vestry has had everything thought out and provided for. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • 5 stars all the way - all as described, very clean and tidy, lovely hosts and a nice neighbourhood. And the cat!:) I had a mechanical problem with my bike and Rob & family were very understanding of that, even though I had to check out a bit later than initially agreed. I would recommend them without hesitation.

  • Lovely small room right next to the houses front door, beautiful and tidy, loved the coffee and the tea bags with the kettle inside, loved the squizy juice in there too. The bathroom is right next door. Loved the shower, hot water...everything lovely. I havent seen or used the rest of the place since I was tired. But the house has nice therase where you can sit. Rob and his family were very friendly, really warmest feeling for a foreigner to feel better than at home, in the lovely Poynton village. Very near is the perfect Poynton pool with birds sorrounded and the sheeps live near by and you can walk right throught the meadow where the sheeps live.

  • Just a great, fun, friendly place, lovely people and a super soppy dog in Daisy. Oh, and sometimes the red wine fairy calls in. Nice! Until next time.

  • Fantastic airBNB experience starting from time of booking. Accommodation amazing, lovely view of a perfect English garden and the Cheshire hills, very comfortable bed and pillows, guest bathroom/bedroom was 6 stars and off road parking was provided. Stayed 1 night but could easily have stayed longer to explore several picturesque local attractions. We visited Lyme Park and fell in love with the magnificent manor and gardens the location for some scenes in Pride and Prejudice, did not catch a glimpse of Mr Darcy unfortunately. Yvonne and Nige are wonderful hosts and experienced travellers themselves, so we picked up lots of handy hints. Easy walking distance to shops and town centre. Yvonne and Nige are the hosts with the most and lots of fun as is Daisy the dog. Would recommend staying here.

    Louisa2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming, lovely accommodation and would recommend and return again. Thanks for having me, hope to visit again soon

  • Fantastic Stay! Absolutely lovely couple, helpful, kind and easygoing! The whole place is very clean, the room big and the shower is great. The dog is very sweet as well. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely always book it again!

  • Great time in Poynton

    Paul2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Yvonne & Nige couldn't have been more helpful or fun to stay with for our last night in the UK. We loved having a view of fields from the comfortable bedroom and being in walking distance of good restaurants (had a great dinner at Grade, which Nige recommended and called to make reservations for us). We also loved their sweet dog! Yvonne had breakfast foods set out for us in the morning, and it was an easy, quick drive to the airport, so we started our transatlantic journey home rested, well fed, and relaxed. Highly recommend!

  • Comfortable, quiet and private self-contained apartment. Well equipped and clean. Close to Manchester airport and yet the Peak District is only a few miles away for scenic hikes and bike rides. Poynton, a village, a few miles away has numerous pubs, restaurants and shops for most needs. Jude was a friendly, responsive and unobtrusive host. We were visiting family in the area and I will definitely stay again.

    Stephen2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jude made us feel totally at home and very welcome upon arrival. The flat was exactly as described. The accommodation, equipment and food was excellent - lovely small personal touches too. Locality was ideal for us - easy to find and close to Mways. in particular we really enjoyed the comfy beds, very well equipped kitchen and nice bath. The food left for a cooked breakfast was a real treat. There is a well stocked mini-supermarket 5 minutes walk away which was useful. We will certainly make this our preferred place when we are in Manchester / Cheshire next. A special place run by a special lady. Thank you Jude. Paul and Rachel

Jude evening helped us with arranging airport parking which saved us £40s. We would highly recommend staying here and we will stay here again when using the airport.

This is a single room in a three bedroom semi-detached property with off road parking. Suitable for single nights/weekends, or longer term, if working in the area.
This room is 7ft 3 inches by 7ft. It contains a single bed and a lockable filing cabinet. Although compact and minimal storage, there is plenty of space for a large suitcase, as we anticipate mainly short stays without the need to unpack. If longer term stays are popular we will invest in more storage. There is a privacy lock on the door for when the guest is in the room.
Our house is situated on a family friendly estate, in a cul-de-sac and is within ten minutes walking of Poynton village. Here you will find Waitrose, Aldi, Morrisons and a great selection of pubs/bars and restaurants to suit most tastes. There is a leisure centre within a five minute walk. Poynton is close to some fantastic scenery with superb local walks on our doorstep and good transport links. We feel privileged to live here.

3 bedroom house - Bramhall has a number of bars, restaurants, cafes, clothes shops, hairdressers, beauty salons, charity shops, churches and a library. Many of these are housed in Bramhall's village square. Around 15-25 minutes from Manchester City Centre

  • another fantastic stay in Kevins place our " home from home" in Bramhall. See my previous review, re the house and the area. I can only re-iterate all that I said then & once again confirm that the house immaculately clean and everything was spot on. Kevin was again very helpful with a couple of things, turning the heating on remotely so that the house was nice and warm when we arrived at midnight, and helping with Air BnB when we tried to extend our stay. We will definitely be returning and would absolutely recommend Kevins lovely home to anyone wanting a stay in the Bramhall area.

All mod con's included of course like fibre optic wifi and sky TV etc. All kitchen appliances including Nespresso machine, microwave etc. Toiletries, towels etc. I can't think of anything you would need to bring, feel free to ask for any requirements. Once booked I will send you all the house details and local amenities etc. Private safe parking as the house has a private car park in front.
Please excuse the state of the pictures, I took them short notice now rather than not have any. I am in the middle of total re decoration. Therefore, the townhouse is actually 4 bedrooms, but only 2 are available for use. I am usually away but home sometimes at the moment due to the decorating, so feel free to ask. You are welcome to stay if you don't mind me being here perhaps. Note: It is a smoking house until the decorating is finished, so if you hate that you might not be happy and it's not exactly toddler friendly as my children grew up and moved out long ago.

  • Stewart and Jo made us feel very welcome and left us to our own devices. Everything shown on the advert was as it was described. The neighborhood was very relaxing, we had easy access to a lovely kept garden. My husband and I were visiting from Colorado, USA, to see family and friends. We were able to use the facilities available and have Sunday dinner with our family, who were allowed to come and visit and I was able to prepare dinner for them, which made the visit a home from home experience which was very important for us. Thanks you Stewart and Jo for having such a wonderful place to stay and at a reasonable price.

    Dorett2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with all amenities provided. The location was ideal for us, in a rural setting, but accessible to all the places we needed to go. We felt very relaxed there. Stewart and Jo were easy-going, and very responsive to all of our questions.

    Martin2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous 3 week stay in Stewart's beautiful farm cottage. It was the perfect base for us, starting a year long adventure in Manchester. The garden was perfect for our 1 and 3 year old to run around in. Stewart also kindly installed a stair gate for us to make life easier! Lovely neighborhood, easily accessible to bramhall and surrounds by short car trip. Would highly recommend to young families.

    Liz2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a great stay Stewart. The availability of night lights and a stairs gate gave us extra peace of mind. The cottage is cozy and very quiet, we had a really relaxing stay- or as relaxing as it's possible to with two children! We'd definitely return (& recommend your cottage to friends).

  • We needed a home for 6 nights while we found a longer term solution. The cottage was ideal. Homely, warm and had a nice feel to it so you instantly feel at ease. Work got in the way of us making the most of it but it'll be our go to comparison for our next home. Great hosts, great cottage.

Windgather is situated within Lyme Park, a 1300acre Deer Park which was made famous as "Pemberley" in the BBC dramatisation of Pride and Prejudice. A perfect base to explore the Peak District on foot or cycle. The views over the cheshire plains are amazing and the great outdoors is right on the doorstep, literally. Windgather is great for that luxury, romantic getaway from the rat race, If arriving by car be aware the track is bumpy, so please take it slow and steady.
A private double en suite room with a balcony, 360 * views over Cheshire and beyond. Wet room shower and wc Tea and coffee facilities in the room Sky TV and workspace, Continental breakfast included.
Views, views, views and the amazing walking, wildlife and cycling. Oh and did I mention the views. Windgather is ideally placed to explore historic Buxton, the Peak District and Derbyshire. We are only 30 minutes from Manchester by train. Lyme Hall is famous as the film location for the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. To be honest I have been looking daily for Mr Darcy but he hasn't been spotted yet !! Please check directly on the Lyme Park web site for opening times and special events. Especially out of season the Hall is NOT open everyday.
  • I loved my visit here! I made a very last-minute booking and Heather was on top of communications right away. She and Darren were warm and welcoming hosts, and readily helped me with extras like picking me up from the train station and lending me a pair of mud-proof walking boots. Heather invited me to dinner and made a tasty local venison dish with vegetables. It really felt like I was visiting friends. The house was beautiful and cozy, and the room had everything I needed, including a great private bathroom. The house is situated right in a large scenic park. It's rural but not isolated, which made it perfect for me as a solo traveler without a car, needing a quiet weekend away that wasn't far from Manchester. I spent two days walking the trails in the park and walking along the canal in a nearby village. I could have easily spent an additional day or two doing the same. Even though I visited in mid-January when it was cold and wet, it was still a very pleasant place to be outside. I'd highly recommend staying here- I really wouldn't change a thing!

    Laura2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Windgather is a little slice of heaven! For the Jane fans you couldn't pick a better location. For those who just want to enjoy a beautiful setting it's Devine! Heather is a very accommodating hostess. She made a delicious dinner, the conversation was delightful and our every request was met. The wet room ensuite was modern and everything is very clean. Did I mention the incredible views? I just can't say enough about how wonderful this location is...We definitely recommend this BnB!

    Sheri2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend Heather and her home enough! My whole stay was perfect, from the room, to the breakfast, to her beautifully situated home right in Lyme Park. Heather went above and beyond in so many ways: picking me up and dropping me off at the train station (even moving her schedule around to be able to drop me off), including me in family dinners, providing maps and recommendations for walks in the park, and being so welcoming I felt more like I was visiting a friend than staying at an airbnb. I hope to be able to come back, but until then, I'll be telling everyone I know to come stay with Heather in her wonderful home!

    Lauren2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Heather and her family gave us warm welcome in there house and the English life at Windgather. Our daughter liked the animals so much! Thank you again for this! The place is really nice and the landscape is beautiful.

    Andreas2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • I travelled alone to Windgather, it was my first ever AirBnB experience too. Fantastic communication with Heather right from booking through to leaving, she did absolutely everything possible to ensure my arrival and my stay went great. My room was absolutely outstanding. A fantastic double bed, contemporary art work, a beautiful modern wetroom/shower. There was a fantastic hi-tech looking coffee machine in the room, well lit and super cosy. The room has a balcony overlooking miles of National Trust parkland (its bang in the middle of the amazing Lyme Park). It also overlooks Heather and Darren's beautiful garden. I spent an evening in the sunset watching their free range chickens roam around. Heather and Darren's home is absolutely stunning, traditional country but with modern accents, I was invited for breakfast every day and dinner too, Heather cooked the most wonderful Lamb with home grown veggies and the morning menu included FRESH eggs from the hens in the backgarden! Idyllic! I didn't feel pressured into socialising, but Heather and Darren were just brilliant and I really enjoyed spending time with them, their 3 dogs and 2 cats! Their home is really off the beaten track, so you'll need to drive carefully to it, through Lyme Park itself, but its 100% worth it. I genuinely can't recommend it enough. Thanks for having me folks! :)

    Matt2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • My experience in Windgather was brilliant. This was one of my best Airbnb housing and I would probably book again if I come back to England. Host Heather was so kind, beautiful, flexible and a great person. I was lucky to meet her and her family.

  • Windgather is situated right inside Lyme Park so to reach Windgather you drive through the most beautiful countryside, amongst deer grazing and with far-reaching views. The house is comfortable, well equipped, very clean and provides everything you could want for your stay. Heather is friendly, easy-going and very helpful. A really special place.

We were supplied with fresh bread, scones, jam... and good coffee. The sorrounding area is stunning. Lyme park is well worth a visit. We will be coming back to explore some more for sure!!

  • This is a great place to stay, comfy, cosy with all the amenities you could want, including fluffy robes and towels, wonderful thoughtful little touches to welcome a tired traveller and very comfy bed (don't forget to pull it out a bit if you want a bit more head space!). The room is a complete living space with toaster, kettle, mini fridge and microwave so it has all you could want for a comfortable stay! The garden is beautiful and relaxing and the location is great- we did the whole trip via public transport which was very easy with a bus stop at the end of the lane or a train station in Disley if you need. Fantastic spot for visiting Lyme Park just at the end of the lane, and beautiful walks and countryside all around. Disley village also has a couple of lovely pubs and restaurants and a Coop shop so all you need for a relaxing getaway!

    Abi2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, comfortable little place in ideal reach of Lyme Park and the stunning house. The local restaurants and pubs are a 10 minute walk and all very nice, and it's an easy drive into the heart of the Peaks, such as Mam Tor and the caves around Castleton. Marnie and Ian were very welcoming and helpful, and extremely quick to try to deal with any queries or problems we had. The room and bathroom included some lovely little touches that added to the experience and I would definitely recommending staying here if you are looking to explore the area.

    Ruch2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, cosy getaway in the beautiful Peaks. A stones throw from Lyme Park which (as we discovered) is an extraordinary place to explore and see deer close up. Marnie and Ian were the perfect hosts; Greeting us and giving us all we needed for the weekend but allowing us privacy during our stay. The Hara is an ideal spot for a couple or small family to use as base-camp for exploring the surrounding countryside or to simply hide away for a night!

    Tom2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was fantastic, we loved the place and the location. And it really felt like Marnie went the extra mile in providing amenities. Would certainly come back.

    Sam2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a great time at The Hara - the room was really cosy, Marnie was an excellent host (even picking us up from the train station when we couldn't get a taxi) and the surrounding countryside was beautiful. We went on a nice walk round Lyme National Trust park, the entrance to which was only 5 minutes walk from The Hara, and had some lovely meals out at the pubs and restaurants of Disley. I'd recommend The Dandy Cock for beer and Mr Chong for food. All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely come again.

    Dylan2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quiet place to stay with lots of room and very thoughtful host

    Helen2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Marnie has created a wonderful space to stay. Everything you think you might need and more is included here. There are lots of special Marnie touches that add a lovely personal touch. We used Marnies as a base to stay whilst visiting with our son who is currently living in the Uk. It was always a pleasure to return to our little safe haven home away from home at Marnies.

The accommodation is on 2 floors with the lounge/kitchen area, and bathroom + shower downstairs, and a large, double bedroom upstairs, a sofa bed + child's sofa bed. It is comfortable for 2-3 people but can sleep up to 5 people with three single sofa beds, and a convertible sofa.
This is a peaceful, quiet area - perfect for relaxing after a busy day working, travelling or sightseeing. There is a large drive in the front of the house for parking.
There are restaurants, pubs and bars in Wilmslow town centre. The closest place to eat is the Unicorn pub which is 100 yards away from the apartment and can be reached on foot, turning left at the front gate. Local places of interest are Styal Mill, Tatton Park, Lyme Park and Dunham Massey. Manchester is a 20-minute drive. Liverpool, Chester and the Peak District National Park are less than an hour away. There is easy access to north Wales, and the Lake District in two hours.

  • This was a great place to stay. We were late getting in and had a horrible time finding it because we're unfamiliar with driving in England. She came out and escorted us to her place. She was very welcoming and gave us tips on driving. Breakfast was provided and the beds were very comfortable. It was a great experience. Gorgeous views.

  • A'dell was a fantastic host; very happy to accommodate us in her lovely home. Comfortable surroundings and breakfast in the morning made for an enjoyable stay. Would come back again :)

    Wardululu2013-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable stay, and A'Dell very welcoming. Quiet road, backs onto a park, lovely house, I would definitely stay there again. In Summer I imagine the South facing garden is a real sun trap.

    Chris 2013-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • A'dell has been a wonderful host, very attentive and easy going. I really enjoyed staying in her house. It was very clean and I had the bathroom to myself. The huge bed was amazing and I slept like in heaven. The house is very close to the Davenport train station where trains leave every 30 mins on weekends. You can also take the 192 bus into Stockport/Manchester or Hazel Grove. The bus stop is about 8 min away on the A6.

    Daniela2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with A'dell for 11 days and I really enjoyed my stay. She was the best host you can imagine. On my first weekend in Stockport she took me shopping and on my second we went to a festival in the lovely park next to her house. I definitely recommend it to everybody, who wants to stay in a beautyful house in a lovely neighbourhood.

    Anna-Kristina2014-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival, A'dell offered a very sincere and warm welcome into her beautiful home. She went out of her way to make my stay very pleasant, I felt right at home. Further, A'dell was very quick to respond to my emails and messages. Her townhouse is very beautiful, spacious and clean, with a nice outdoor deck where you can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. I highly recommend A'dell, and if I return to Manchester, I would love to stay in her home again.

    Jenny2013-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at A'Dell's home was our first Airbnb experience and was absolutely lovely. A beautiful Victorian terrace on next to a gorgeous park. A brilliant nights' sleep and a outstanding bathroom to have a wake-up shower in. We would thoroughly recommend staying at A'Dell's.

    Tim2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay at Dawn's house. She went out of her way to be as helpful as possible. The room was very comfortable and I felt very much at home. The bonus was her fabulous pets. Poynton is a lovely place for a relaxing visit and Dawn is only 10 minutes from the village so it is easy to get to. I will be going back as soon as possible as I have a friend who lives there. I highly recommend Dawn's as a place to stay.

    Carol2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Dawns home is very close to the town centre and is very well presented. If I were to travel this way again I would certainly book again. The bed was comfortable, all things considered a nice place to stay.

  • Dawn was an excellent host that made me feel very relaxed and at home. Lovely house, comfy bed, in a lovely village. Handy for Manchester City. I found it easy to get to. Hoping to stay again

    David2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a real home away from home and Dawn made every effort to make the experience comfortable for me and my young lad. Dusky and Socks (her cat and dog) are the stars of the show and are very friendly and playful with people but never roam upstairs in case you just want to chill out in your bedroom; my boy really looked forward to coming home in the evening and chilling out with them to watch tv or play in the garden with them. It's a lovely neighbourhood and would love to come back if ever I was in the area again. My only regret was that I didn't initially book the accommodation for my whole stay in the UK. Mario

  • I booked Sam's house well in advance as my family and I were travelling up to Manchester for my brothers wedding. Sam quickly contacted me when the reservation was made to confirm and asked if there was any special requests. I had initially arrived in Manchester a day earlier. Sam was happy enough to drop off the keys personally to me a day earlier to save any hassle. He text me all the relevant information such as alarm codes and I was all set to arrive at the house first thing in the morning. On arrival everything was pretty much perfect. The exterior of the house was fantastic. Space for two cars on the drive, and plenty of space on the road for any more. The area was nice and quiet, lovely neighbours and plenty of local shops. Stockport town Center was approx 5 minutes away, and Manchester town Center and the Trafford centre were approximately 20 minutes, close to everything which was great. The interior was once again perfect. Better than described really. Great sized kitchen and living room. Big television, wifi etc. All the bedrooms were clean and big, the biggest room being on the third floor was massive and had its own ensuite. Overall there was plenty of space for everything. There was a total of 9 people staying here and not once did we feel over crowded or that there wasn't enough space. 3 bathrooms was more than enough haha. On the whole, my experience here was fantastic, Sam was a lovely host and it was nothing short of perfect. It honestly felt like a home from home. I definitely recommend staying here. I would again!!

    Tabrez2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Satisfactory stay at a good location for access to central Manchester, the Trafford Centre and Alton Towers.

    Charlie2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect venue for our stay. Lovely house much bigger than pictures. Had lots of appliances to use too! Home from home!

    Emily2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and colleagues stayed in this house for over a week. The host, Sam is very friendly and helpful, he's also prompt to respond to any messages. The house itself is decorated to very high standard with plenty of space for 8+ people. Living space is more than comfortable and the master bedroom is amazing! Beds are all comfortable, especially the memory foam mattress in the master bedroom. Manchester Central is only 15 minutes maximum away in a car even in heavy traffic. Couldn't ask for more from Sam - everything was perfect and I am looking forward to staying here again in the future.

    Patrick2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very helpful host and great place

    Joe2017-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • We booked the house for 4 of us for a business trip to have our team together. It was ideal, nice living room, good kitchen and all the mod cons for washing/drying clothes etc whilst we were travelling. Sam was very helpful and accommodating. It's about a 10 minute walk to the train which runs straight into town and is faster than driving. There are some cool areas nearby like West Didsbury and its also nice and close to the airport.

    Markus2016-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Sam's house. Better than expected. Lots of room and a good kitchen. We had ten blokes staying at the house and it was perfect. Recommend.

    Matthew2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend at Sam's house. We were spending the weekend on a business trip and the house provided everything we needed, was extremely comfortable and decorated to a high standard. Sam was very helpful and responsive even though he was away at the time and managed to resolve any issues we had quickly. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautifully detailed period terrace (1884) with excellent public transport links to Manchester airport and the city centre.
The double room available is fully furnished featuring a really cosy double bed with bedding that makes you feel like your in a cloud. Original wooden floor boards, hand made brick chimney breast and antique furniture make your stay a wonderful experience. There is a TV with free Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and loads of DVDs to watch, a Sony DAB Hifi with Bluetooth, a large wardrobe with hangers, a hair dryer, lots of empty draws and cupboards, ironing board, iron and Fibre Optic Wifi. The street is really quiet due to a block in the road that prevents through traffic. It is just off the landing flight path to the airport so you can hear the planes from time to time. Also the church bells ring in late afternoon on a Monday. Davenport town centre and shops are 3 mins walk which has a bank, post office, doctors, Spar (late night shop) and one of the best Fish and Chip shops around!
  • We had a really good time in England. Dave is a nice guy and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and we always had enough for breakfast ;) He also told us which places we could visit and where we could buy food. All in all we liked to stay with Dave and we defenitily would come back if we visit Stockport / Manchester again! :)

    Yvonne2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Dave was a great host. Good banter. Room big with good TV, internet and comfy bed. Fully recommended.

    Andrew2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Dave was truly a very nice and sociable guy! I really enjoyed staying there, he did an outstanding job to refurbish the old house! The atmosphere is truly vintage (good old 60's) although all the kitchen and bathroom equipment is new. The room and kitchen have everything, I didn't use Playstation in the lounge just because I had other commitments. So I would definitely recommend this place! I promise that the pictures shown in the ad really correspond to what Dave had renovated! It was a very good time there!

    Andrei2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Dave for 3 weeks because I was working around Stockport and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! Dave is really friendly and chilled out and kept me well informed. I had full use of everything and felt at home very quickly. The location is excellent, 20 minute walk to Stockport centre or you can get the bus which goes from the end of the road and stops in Stockport and Manchester. Its also a short walk to Davenport station which will take you into Manchester in 20 mins. Just around the corner are a few shops and a chippy. My room was really cozy and spacious with a TV which had Netflix and Amazon Prime. There's also a desk with a chair which was handy and a nice big wardrobe with hangers. It was amazing value for money and I have absolutely no complaints!

    Kat2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Dave's place! He was a fantastic host and a really nice guy, making sure I had anything and everything I needed. The room was really big and the bed was super comfy (much better than most of the places I've stayed) there were even chocolates on the pillow! There are also two lovely cats roaming around the house who were very friendly and enjoyed some fuss :) Would recommend!!

    Sean2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had an excellent stay at Dave's place. It was exactly as described and Dave made me feel completely at home. The cats were friendly and ready for an occasional cuddle. The room was warm and very comfortable. Jerry who was also staying was also lovely. Would definitely recommend and stay agin!

    Camilla2017-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dave is an amazing, helpful, generous, and fun host with two lovely cats. I loved my room, it was really cozy and I would definitely stay there again! For those who haven't been to Mcr the location is pretty easy to find, the bus stop to the city centre or to the airport is just a short walk (maybe 2 mins). Thanks Dave! :)

We are In the edge of peak district , 3 miles from Lyme park 16 miles from Tatton Park 30 mile from Chatsworth house 12 mile from centre Manchester , bus stop just in front of the main house , 5 minute to Strines train station Our own private car park for at least 20 cars in the back and at least another 4 in the front which we intend to use for the Airbnb guests so you don't have to worry if you come by more than one car
Chalet/Cabin in Cheshire - perfect for nature and animal lovers! An ensuite chalet overlooking the Goyt valley in Cheshire. This cabin has all the comforts. It can accommodate 4 guests - suitable for groups or families. The chalet has one double bedroom with an en suite shower room and a large living room, which can accommodate a king-size inflatable bed . We have a Barbie's cot as show on the pictures so all the little ones will enjoy their comfort as well There's WiFi. We just installed a 45" smart TV with free view in the living room and 32" TV with DVD player in the bedroom , It is really well insulated and warmer than my house in winter! The chalet does not have a kitchen but there is a fridge-freezer, micro wave ,toaster and kettle. Guests are very welcome to use my kitchen. There is a utility room next to the chalet with a washing machine and dryer. The chalet also has a DAB radio , so you know that even if the weather is against you, there's still plenty to do! The Chalet is located in the rolling hills of Cheshire, which is lush green in the summer and has plenty of snow in the winter. The chalet is set on 11 acres of land, which includes my house. I originally built the chalet for my son to live in. He has since left home and just graduated from Oxford University. I didn't want it to sit empty, so I have made it available to Airbnb members. There are 11 acres of land, full of a range of rare, pure breed poultry, some already extinct, some not even on the internet. They include peacocks and peahens. If you are nature and animal lovers, this is the place for you! Join me for a glass of red wine seeing the peacock dancing to attract his lady friends and on occasion watch the daring deer wandering round the garden. http://cheshirechik.co.uk/ Walking in Cheshire One of the best ways to see this part of the world is on foot. We are located on the border of the famous Goyt Valley and the Roman Lakes. Although the Lakes might not have the strongest link to the Romans, it is still amazing to visit one of the most important sites of the Industrial Revolution in this part of the world. We are close to transport links for the rest of Derbyshire and the Peak District. We have plenty of National Trust parks, and our closest, Lyme Park is perhaps most famous for being the site of the 1990's television adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Located close to Marple village, which provided the title for Agatha Christie's famous series, Strines also has excellent transport links to the center of Manchester, Stockport . With regular trains and three nearby railway stations, it is just as easy to use our Chalet as a jumping point for a quiet city break as it is a country one! So whether you'd like to enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding countryside or be close enough to enjoy everything Manchester has to offer, Strines is the place for you. With the summer fast approaching we have just purchased a new BBQ which guests are more than welcome to use. We are also happy to accommodate anyone who would be interested in using the cabin and gardens as the site for photo shoots; all are welcome! Please note, due to the winter months coming up, all guests that need to go out by foot please be advised to use our steps just in the front of the main house when walking up or down from the chalet rather than the driveway itself as it can become rather slippy! Cheers and have a wonderful day!

Where the Cheshire plains meet the peaks in the “Happy Valley” sits the delightful town of Bollington. With a rich heritage in the cotton spinning industry, there’s still plenty of surviving mills and a network of canals. Standing high above the town on Kerridge Hill is the landmark of “White Nancy” built in 1817 to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Waterloo. Today the town is a thriving community within the Manchester commuter belt resulting in a very bohemian atmosphere. Unlike most places, there are still plenty of busy pubs and a bounty of eateries, bars and cafés. It’s a very short hop to the bustling city of Manchester or the majesty and breathtaking beauty of the Peak District National Park. As a major centre for cotton spinning in the 19th and 20th centuries, Bollington boasts a rich heritage which can still be seen in its old converted mills and canal network. Nicknamed the ‘Happy Valley’, Bollington sits on the South-Western edge of the Peak District with its iconic landmark, White Nancy rising above the Town on top of Kerridge Hill. Bollington is where the peaks meet the plains. A small town with the village atmosphere at its heart, it is often referred to as a Lancashire mill town in the Derbyshire hills of Cheshire – the Happy Valley. Situated on the very edge of the Peak District National Park, Bollington is a traditional stone built mill town, the only stone built community in Cheshire, nestling in the valleys on the sides of green hills which look away over the Cheshire plain. Narrow streets lead through the town providing tantalising views of hills, valleys and the very quarries from which the building stone was hewn by the sweat of its early inhabitants. Many of their descendants live here to this day – once a Bollingtonian always a Bollingtonian! Possibly named after Bolla’s ton or village in a medieval era of primitive farming, the town has evolved through the birth of the industrial revolution with the first water powered mills in the district, in Ingersley Vale, and later the giant Clarence, Adelphi, Waterhouse, Oak Bank and Lowerhouse steam powered mills fully supported by the then revolutionary canal and railway. In modern times some mills have disappeared, others have changed their industries – Adelphi Mill is full of high tech businesses – and the top floors of Clarence Mill have been converted into luxury apartments with industry below. At Clarence Mill you can find Bollington Discovery Centre, where this story is told. Those two man-made transport routes, now redundant from their original purpose, serve the town as very popular recreation and nature areas – the Macclesfield Canal - navigated today by increasing numbers of narrow boats and cruisers, it’s busy towpath used by walkers, runners and fishermen, and the Middlewood Way, once the Macclesfield Bollington & Marple Railway, now the green home to a great variety of flora and fauna. But for all the changes wrought over the years Bollington remains a friendly little town, bustling by day and night – many glorious pubs and restaurants – retaining its scale, keen to avoid the extremes of out of character development, keeping its community together, committed to a comfortable relationship with each other, the hills and the town. And all this overlooked by that potent symbol of our community, White Nancy.
