  • All I can say is WOW! The view of Portland was wonderful, the neighborhood intriguing, the house spectacular, and Lance was a GREAT host. I hope we can make it back again.

  • This listing was definitely the highlight of our trip to Portland. Lance was sure to answer all of our questions prior to arrival and even suggested where we should eat (what places that have good food and that would be easy to accommodate us on such a short notice). The view from the room was very stunning and we spent a majority of our night looking out the windows and enjoying the house. The pictures did not do the night skyline justice justice! We literally had to peel ourselves away from the home in order to take in more of the tastes and sights of Portland. I would recommend this listing to anyone looking for a really cool listing with an equally nice host. P.S. the cat is so chill and will become your instant best friend if you let him :)

  • Lance and his cat Bukowski were great hosts and very accommodating. He gave us a house tour and recommendations on bars/restaurants nearby. Downtown was a quick UBER ride away and I also walked to the hiking trails from the treehouse. Enjoyed the views and the bedroom area was large and had a nice seating area next to it with Portland restaurant magazines.

    Christie2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • This treehouse is one of the most unique airbnb stays that we've had. The view is absolutely incredible. Lance was easy to communicate with, and everything was as described.

  • Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and unique place to stay for our first visit to Portland. Beautiful neighborhood, fascinating house, and wonderful host. Thanks, Lance!

  • Lance was an amazing host. His place is absolutely beautiful. Waking up to a view of the entire city of Portland is indescribable. Lance helped us carry in luggage, had coffee ready for us in the morning, and made us feel at home. We couldn't have picked a better place for the first night of our honeymoon.

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • What a wonderful and magical little cottage! And so close to so many fun things.

    Walker2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely gorgeous, I would most definitely rather stay here than a hotel. They gave us all the privacy and provided us with all the amenities we needed. We had the whole backyard to ourselves and didn't feel bothered at all. Amazing stay

    Victor2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great, unique place, convenient location, and very serene in the middle of the city. We loved the cob house and you are lucky to get a chance to stay here!

    Christy And Arnaud2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spot! I had a class downtown over the weekend, and the frequent buslines within a short walk through the beautiful neighborhood was perfect. My first class was Friday evening, so getting off the bus on my way home right in the middle of a nice variety of restaurants and pubs on SE Division was delightful. The evening was complete when I arrived back to the cottage greeted with the gate open and lights strung over the pond on... not to mention the nearly full moon I could see lying on the bed through the cottage window. Communication from Jack and Cris was excellent! I was given clear instructions ahead of time and greeted on arrival. Didn't have much time to hang out and enjoy the environment due to school, but sparked up a friendship with their loving and laid back black cat, and enjoyed the french press coffee and sitting area in the mornings.

    Michelle2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful little cottage in an immaculately decorated yard. Small space, but wonderfully decorated.

    Justin2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cob cottage provided a comfortable and peaceful home base for our visit to Portland. We highly recommend. The cottage itself is small but full of character -- skylights, a cozy bed and mattress, a bench for storage, room dividing curtains segmenting the bed and entry way, and a small shelving unit. The backyard and deck -- featuring a small pond, friendly felines and ample seating -- provide a terrific space for a meal or downtime. Jack and Cris were friendly, welcoming, and ensured we had everything we needed. Best yet, the property is just a few minute walk from Portland's SE Division shopping and dining corridor. While the bathroom (shared with other rooms) does require you to walk a few feet to the main house, it was always clean, well provisioned and sat adjacent to a nice kitchen and living area accessible to guests of the cottage.

    Ryan2018-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris' cottage was a great place to stay for the weekend. It's very charming and the location has lots of restaurants and shops nearby you can walk to. The bed in the cottage was a little too soft for my liking, but the wonderful backyard was such a nice retreat after a long day of exploring Portland and the nearby areas. Jack offered some great advice on restaurants and activities going on the weekend we stayed which was very helpful.

    Leah2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my time at Jack and Cris’s. Their cottage is so adorable and unlike anywhere I’ve stayed at before. It’s also in a great location, and walking distance to a number of cafes, shops, and restaurants. I’d definitely stay here again.

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. If you intend to bring a pet (or two) please message me BEFORE booking to confirm details and the pet fee. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • Wonderful host! She was very welcoming and gave us great recommendations on where to eat in the surrounding area. There are quite a few restaurants in just walking distance. The space was very comfortable, cozy, and ideal. Definitely would recommend this space!

  • Andree’s tiny home was cute, but it was nowhere as nice as the photos. I’m not sure if it’s been awhile since the original pictures were taken, but the place has not been maintained well. Many of the items in the photos are not there such as the sign inside, the table, the outdoor seating area, etc. The trees are very overgrown and it would’ve been nice to have both parts of the screen in the door so we can open it to cool the place off (there’s no AC). It was also annoying that the shower hours only allow you to shower between 9am and 9pm. I get that it’s to keep noise down for the other air bnb guests in her home, but most people visiting the city want to wake up early to see everything, and then get home late and want to shower after a hot day. Additionally, the location was not great. I’m not sure why Woodlawn was described as “hip”, but the neighborhood was a little sketchy; we saw someone hit a parked car and keep on driving, and in general there wasn’t much there. After visiting I would much rather stay in the Pearl district downtown. Andree was a very nice host, but I think the place needs some work in comparison to how it was depicted.

  • Andrée is a lovely host!

    Rachael2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible area to stay - lots to do and eat close by. Andrée provides great local tips and food spots. The place is cute and cozy. Definitely recommend.

    Mallory2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised!

    Eric2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was as described, with even a couple more piece of furniture in the studio. Andree was helpful and accommodating with our late arrival and the studio had information on a number of local options. The property is a short walk from 3-4 eateries and a bus stop. I would recommend it if you were looking to stay in that neighborhood.

    John2014-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was a great host, smiling and prone to discussions to change the world. She has an adorable little dog, big plus ;) As the studio is in a court, it is very easy to communicate with her during the stay. She will certainly give you good places for brunch or go out to Portland. The studio is very clean and warm. The only snag is that the restroom and showers are not in the studio, you have to go home but access is quit easy. Although the house is in a residential area, the Alberta Street or Williams Street are 5 minutes away by car or bus. The bus passes relatively frequently. I would recommand this place anytime!

With just the right amount of space for two, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, King Memory foam Bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a king bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • Hannah and Jason's place was great! The unit was clean and well stocked, and the bed was very comfortable. Hannah was very quick to respond to any questions we had, which was definitely appreciated. The location of the unit made it easy to get to all the different areas of Portland, we'll definitely look at staying here again for future trips back to Portland.

  • Incredible location - beautiful Neighborhood within walking distance to many great spots. A little older than the photos but a nice clean space.

    Carrie2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a great stay at Jason's place. This studio is very stylish, has a REAL fireplace and a block away from public transit. It was very easy to get to and located in a nice neighborhood. The house manual located on the coffee table will tell you everything you need to know from the TV channels available to places to eat at in the neighborhood. It was a nice, homey place to come home to after walking around in Downtown Portland. Will definitely stay here again when I visit Portland.

    Mary Ann2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great neighborhood spot with friendly host! We especially loved the loaner bikes with a personal tune up. Thanks Jason!

  • Very nice accommodations for my night in Portland. Would definitely come here again.

    Rashad2016-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy and central location! Kitchen was well equipped to make simple meals. Bathroom/shower is VERY tiny and we could have used an extra wash cloth and towel. Overall good experience!

    Kendra2016-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Portland at Jason's apartment was excellent! He was very accommodating, the apartment was very comfortable and in a great location, and the suggested restaurants list on his welcome note was very much appreciated. But the best part for us was that the apartment is pet friendly which meant that we could have our cat with us (we were in the process of moving to a new state) - not an easy characteristic to find in Airbnb listings. Overall it was a great experience!

    Amanda2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay in Portland. It was really close to restaurants and shops. Would definitely come back and stay here. Thanks Jason!

If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • Sue's cottage is completely adorable. It's close to Laurelhurst Park, a lovely place to hang out if the weather is affable. Also walking distance to many of the attractions of Burnside and Hawthorn streets of SE Portland. Sue was very responsive and accommodating; we had trouble locating the iron on arrival and they loaned us the one from the house immediately.

    Troy2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bob & Sue greeted us and gave a tour of their lovely home. The neighborhood is quiet, beautiful, and safe. The apartment was perfect for a week long stay. Centrally located to easily get to many of the great neighborhoods within minutes. The great selection of local magazines and travel books were a plus and helped us pick a few excursions around town. Our first AirBnB experience!

    Beth2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The home was very nice and inviting. Sue and Bob were very helpful in many ways. We would definitely stay there again. Very pleased with the experience in the cottage apartment and loved all the history.

    Danielle2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at the the Cottage. Great basement level apartment, loved the atmosphere and a quiet place to rest after adventuring out into Portland and the Columbia River Gorge. Sue and Bob were marvelous hosts! Loved not only staying with them but getting to know them as well. They were welcoming and warm, giving us recommendations for grocery stores, places to eat, and fun things to do in and around Portland. The house itself is great and has such a unique history! I would highly recommend Sue and Bob as hosts to any friends or family headed to the pacific northwest!

    Ted2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and gardens, lovely apartment, wonderful leafy neighborhood with easy access to freeway. Sue is a delightful, genial and generous host. The spotless, comfortable apartment works for one or two people and makes a great place to stay when you need/want to be in Portland. You'll appreciate the nice bowl of fruit, the washer/dryer, the TV and DVDs, the maps, tourist books and walking tour descriptions and all the other thoughtful touches.

  • Sue was an amazing host. Her house is beautiful, and she went out of her way to make sure we got the most out of our time there. This was one of our best Airbnb experiences, thank you so much Sue!

  • What is there to say that the previous reviews haven't already said? Bob & Sue are wonderful hosts and they made us feel right at home. They pay attention to all the little details, and the apartment was furnished with plenty of little touches that helped us feel like we never left our house.

    Gordon2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay if you're visiting Portland. It's right around the corner from the park and within walking distance to lots of places. Sue was so friendly and generous with ideas and tips for us—she even gave us a print out of tips for the coast before we checked out. The cottage is so homey and sweet. The whole experience was delightful.

Our stunning guest house has everything you need! Revel in the luxurious, lofted queen bedroom, where vaulted ceilings & large windows deliver floods of natural light. Cook a special meal over wine in the modern kitchen, or indulge in complimentary Stumptown coffee & organic cream! Walk 1 block to bustling Division St to restaurants, coffeeshops, foodcarts, & other urban adventures! Escape to the forests of Mt Tabor, just a 10-minute walk! Enjoy privacy- guesthouse is at the back of property :-)
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block or two of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Tasty & Daughters, Petite Provence, Fern Kitchen), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • If your looking for a great place to stay in Portland then look no further. Laurel and Brian’s guesthouse is clean, modern, and has all the comforts of home. We had a wonderful time during our stay. Location was close to excellent restaurants and a great trendy coffee shop. Laurel and Brian communicated with us a lot and made us feel welcome in their guest house. Would stay here again without any hesitation.

  • This is really a rare find. Spotless clean and huge unit with all modern amenities. I'm in the hotel business - I always have a high expectation for a place looking great in photos - this unit did not disappoint me or beyond my expectation. It has everything one needs even for a long stay - full kitchen, brand new washer and dryer - a separate bedroom is loft is very nice, with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. It is in a very quiet neighborhood but there are a few restaurants within walking distance - fresh croissants from Petite Provence are a must. A special place making you feel right. I truly enjoy my stay. Thank you, I will be definitely back!

  • Great location, spacious accommodation that was well appointed and comfortable. As other have noted it was very clean. Highly recommend Laurel and Brian's spot.

    Jean2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in Laurel and Brian's loft! It has everything you need and is in a great location. Love how you guys did the space. This is the standard all airbnbs should be at, thanks so much, we hope to visit Portland again sometime!

  • Love staying at Laurel and Brian’s guest house. The lofted setup was really nice and an efficient use of space. Laurel and Brian were really gracious hosts. Super responsive and accommodating to every request. Can’t recommend this place any higher.

Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • We loved the bed! It was very comfortable. There is a bit of road noise and noise from wooden floorboards, but complementary earplugs are provided. Everything was very clean, modern and cozy design, and as described.

    Ashley2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • The AirBnB was very cozy and had everything I needed. Timothy was more than accommodating and responded very promptly, especially considering the last-second nature of my booking. Very convenient location and right next to a fantastic restaurant. Everything is within a 10 minute drive.

    Patrick2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A great room, very spacious with a comfortable bed and helpfully a sink in the room. Easy to get in touch with Tim and he was very helpful. The place is accessible to downtown by very easy buses, although it was a relatively long walk to Alberta street. Overall a great place to stay to get an introduction to Portland. Thank you.

    Jessica2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The room was exactly as advertised-- pleasant, clean and very comfortable bed. I didn't read carefully enough and was surprised to see both the bathroom and shower were down the hall, shared with other guests. The neighborhood was OK, not great. Best thing was the restaurant directly downstairs--- a most amazing meal. Coffee /bake shop next door also welcoming with good muffins/coffee and pleasant folks.

    Pamela2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This room was exactly as expected with a large, comfortable bed and linens. It is a shared bathroom with other guests which is indicated on the information, but was something I had forgotten until arrival, so I feel like it's worth noting. However, the shared restrooms were still very clean and the noise level was minimal despite other rooms nearby. I didn't have check in information upon arrival, but after calling Timothy, was able to get the info I needed for a smooth check in. We loved the area and nearby restaurants and were within walking distance of a concert we went to, which was awesome!

    Leigh2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Spacious room for two, good communication, clean, easy check-in/out, walkable neighborhood, nearby to restaurants & shops.

    Sean2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Tim provided a lovely place to stay with all the amenities you could ask for. Everything looked meticulously looked after and ultimately for me everything was sanitary. It felt like we had the place to ourselves but when we needed help he was no more than a stones throw away. Thanks for the awesome weekend!

    Benny2016-01-19T00:00:00Z

  • Place was adorable, with a clean modern style. Top of the line appliances and amenities made the stay even more comfortable. Super quiet, for us actually, even thought the place was right above a bar! But there were ear plugs and a noise-cancelling device, just in case. The neighborhood was the cutest; the apartment was just steps away from tons of hip restaurants and bars. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Portland.

    Alexandria2017-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay! This awesome little place is located right off the main drag of wonderful shops, bars, and restaurants. My boyfriend and I just walked around everywhere while we were here. We drove in, and using Anastasia's parking pass was a huge help! Anastasia is a great host, and very responsive whenever we had questions. I definitely plan on returning to this spot! Thanks SO much.

    Danielle2017-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very responsive. Good location near bus and street car stops. We didn’t have any noise issues. SmartTV had free Netflix and Hulu access. Anastasia kept our luggage in her apartment next door after check-out, since we had an afternoon flight.

    Seth2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot very clean and comfy.

    Amarylis2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • The LoveJoy Studio is great! The location is absolutely unbeatable, and Anastasia is a great host. I left something behind after check-out and she promptly contacted me and arranged for a pick-up. Thank you, Anastasia!

    Angelene2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is amazing. I loved its super clean, modern feel. It was located very close to a bus stop making it easy to move about the city. The bagel shop next door was awesome! Anastasia was very nice and responded quickly. Check in and out was a breeze. Would recommend to anyone staying in Portland

    Tasha2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • This location is wonderfully convenient right by a lot of restaurants and shops with even a hospital across the street. I hope to have the opportunity to rent this place again the next time I visit Portland!

    Sara2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this studio! My boyfriend and I stayed at Anastasia's place for 4 nights. Right when we walked in, we loved how cozy and clean everything was. This space had the perfect amount of room for my boyfriend and I. We are from San Diego so we weren't used to the cold but there was a heater in the apartment that made it just perfect. We did have a rental car and finding parking was a breeze thanks to the parking pass that Anastasia provided. There are quite a few places in the neighborhood to walk to including Salt & Straw and Blue Star Donut, which are both a must when visiting Portland. Felt really safe walking around the neighborhood too. We visited quite a few parts of Portland and the neighborhood we stayed in was by far our favorite. Just to make things even better, Anastasia was an amazing host. Clear instructions and great communication. When I asked if she had many recommendations of places to go while visiting Portland, she went above and beyond by taking the time to give me an extensive list of things to do and try. I didn't get to meet Anastasia in person but she even checked in with me during my trip to make sure everything was going fine :) I thought that was very nice of her. We definitely enjoyed our stay in Portland and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else but here.

Comfortable, modern basement studio with private entrance, only minutes away from downtown and located in safe, quiet Piedmont neighborhood with plenty of on-street parking. Comfy queen size bed, private bath, private kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hot water maker, and all the basic amenities.
Warm and cozy space for two with modern furnishings and its own complete kitchen and bathroom.
Piedmont is a quiet, family oriented neighborhood. There is a large city park a few blocks away with a beautiful rose garden, tennis courts and public pool. The trendy Alberta Arts and Mississippi neighborhoods are nearby.
  • A great private basement apartment! Stylish with plenty of light. The bed is very comfortable. The extra towels were appreciated after long days spent hiking the River Gorge area. Using our rental car for area neighborhoods and Uber for downtown trips was super easy.

  • Roberts place is great. Modern, spacious with great amenities. Private and has a kitchen if you want to cook. Would stay again if in Portland area.

  • Had a great time and everything I needed was at hand.

    Shaun2018-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculately clean. Nice amenities. We didn’t use the kitchen to cook since Portland has such amazing places to eat, but it seemed fully stocked and super clean. Very thorough instructions for using all the amenities at the rental. Would definitely stay at Robert’s again!

    Dany2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • The room was great! It had a full kitchen and bathroom and everything I needed. Robert was very hospitable and cared to make sure I had a great stay. The studio had a lot of security which helped make me feel safer. Overall a great stay in Portland!

Spacious master bedroom with private bath, entrance & deck; easy access to transportation, walking distance to N Williams, N Mississippi, The Pearl, Rose Quarter/Convention Center, east side amenities, & Emanuel Hospital. All are welcome! airbnb.com/rooms/2291626?s=51
This is a large master suite with accommodations for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay: a Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, a refrigerator, a microwave, dishes, knives, and silverware. The room also has cable TV, Queen size bed, foldout futon sofa, airbed in closet, sitting area & desk. "...the bathroom was unexpectedly awesome with two sinks, and such a large shower with dual heads." Heating and air conditioning is a mini-split which keeps the temperature comfortable and quiet.
Eliot neighborhood is full of popular dining establishments, coffee shops, music venues, parks, and the Matt Dishman community center with in-door swimming pool. This is a great close-in Portland community with access to everything you need. Several places for live music include the Secret Society, White Eagle Saloon, Wonder Ballroom and, of course, the Rose Garden Moda Center.
  • The room is very cosy and big. There is microwave, kettle and coffie there. The house is really good to go by public transport. The shower does not have a door or even a curtain, but it is behind the corner.

    Константин2014-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay here! I was in Portland for a conference at the Oregon Convention Center. There were events throughout the city, and the house is centrally located so it was easy to ride my bike or take Max everywhere I needed to go. The room itself is quite large, with comfy chairs and a desk just the right size for getting some work done on my laptop (and the wireless internet was plenty fast). The bathroom is also large and has a great shower. As a cartographer I also really appreciated the map-themed decor of the room. My favorite part is the little porch right outside the private entrance, it looks out over the garden and was a very pleasant place to relax. Jere was very responsive to all of my emails/texts both before and during my stay. I highly recommend her place!

    Matt2014-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Place is clean, well decorated and has the amenities you need while staying somewhere. There's also a nice desk for you to work on and plenty of lighting. The unit is well taken care of. And the host is prompt to respond.

    Krischelle2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This room was amazing. It was perfect for my short weekend in Portland. It was cozy and quaint and was very welcoming. Jere had a binder with the house rules and amenities and even a list of local places to go. Definitey planning another trip to Portland and I hope that I can stay here again.

    Catherine2018-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jere was very kind and welcoming. Also, a great communicator via text. She gave us lots of helpful info upon arrival and there were great maps & resources of Portland in the room. It was nice that the room was closed off & had a private entry so we didn't bother Jere and her husband and vice versa. Room had good "energy" to it. Bed was super comfy. Ample shower and closet space. Neighborhood was a true gem. Room was just as pictured, comfy & clean! Walking distance to restaurants and a nice local natural-foods grocery store. She even lent us fold-up chairs to take to the festival. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed every minute. Portland is a great city! Lots to do and see! Hiked and went to Cannon Beach also...gorgeous areas!!! We'd visit and stay here again, and again, and again....

    Yvonne2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This quiet and private unit was perfect for our Portland vacation. Lots of space, lots of light, and an easy distance from all the places we wanted to go. Our host was very helpful with a selection of maps, coffee maker, lots of towels and WiFi code already posted for our use. And then we found the amazing shower and the bathrobes. Couldn't expect anything more.

    Chris2015-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jere is a kind and thoughtful host. She was very helpful with providing Portland maps/pamphlets and explaining any questions that I had. The description matched the reality quite well. It is a very clean pleasant place. There was a full moon on my first day in Portland, and I had a snack at that table in the picture (during the early night). It was then that I noticed how quiet and relaxed the neighborhood seemed. Overall, the stay was a calming and beautiful experience. Thanks Jere!

    Hope2015-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The room was even better than we expected. The entrance was private and secluded. The main room was plently large for the bedroom, sitting area and a small kitchen corner. The bathroom and shower were extremely nice and then there was a separate "dressing room". It felt spacious. Our host thought of everything and it was clear a lot of thought went into furnishing the room. The neighborhood was very walkable with a grocery store and restaurants in walking distance. We really enjoyed the neighborhood atmosphere. When we go back to visit our son we definitely would choose to stay here again.

Relaxed, spacious + light boho-modern basement apartment with private entry. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. The studio makes a great home base - it's 15 minutes from the airport and downtown with ample free street parking and wi-fi . We are within walking distance to SO many outstanding restaurants, coffee + bars: Breakside Brewery, The Firehouse, Tamale Boy, Tough Luck Bar, Dame, Beast, Expatriot, DOC, and many other great restaurants, brewpubs and boutiques.
The apartment is located in our mid-century home on a quiet residential street in the hip Concordia neighborhood. Situated between the exciting Alberta Arts District, Concordia University and the up-and-coming Woodlawn neighborhood, you cannot beat the selection of great restaurants, shops, and parks within walking or biking distance. Whether you just want to chill in front of the wood-burning fireplace, wander the neighborhood, or have a glass of wine outside, feel free to relax and make yourself at home. With a full kitchen at your disposal you can make the most out of the local farmer’s markets and excellent grocery stores in the neighborhood too. This space is ideal for business travelers, with wi-fi and a full, well-equipped kitchen. We use only natural, eco-friendly cleaning products and toiletries in the studio. We're very aware of cannabis and tobacco smells (which are prohibited on the property) which tend to linger. We enjoy meeting all of our guests, but we respect your privacy and space as well. Please feel free to interact with us as much, or as little, as you'd like. We live just a short 10-15 minute drive from Portland International Airport (PDX). We are located about 10-12 minutes from downtown Portland by car. Public transportation is just a few blocks away.
The Concordia neighborhood is unique in its diversity, with long-time residents, young families and college students attending Concordia University. Other great attributes: - Close to downtown, and about 15 minutes from the airport. - Incredible restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, art galleries, music, and street art are a short walk or bike ride away. - One block from public transportation that drops you downtown before you know it! - Close to our favorite grocery store (New Seasons) with organic food, local products, and an excellent source for gifts or mementos of your stay. - Beautiful Woodlawn, Alberta and Fernhill Parks are within 6 -12 blocks away, or head to Forest Park for great hiking in the middle of the city. - Concordia University is two blocks away, and a great place to stop by to watch a baseball or soccer game in their beautiful open stadium, check out their grounds or wander into the library.
  • Very cute basement apartment. The space was very clean and stylish with thoughtful touches. Location was close enough to a few bars that you could just walk. But, very noisy. We could hear everything happening in the main house - cooking pots and pans, the dog running around, whenever anyone would take a shower, and even sometimes talking. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be the ideal place for you. Other than the noise issue, we had a pleasant stay. Melissa and her husband Ken are very nice.

    Nicolas2018-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's place is absolutely lovely! In a wonderful neighborhood, very walkable to great restaurants + shops. Easy to access from the airport and bus lines run on the next block! Modern decor, clean, coffee, tea, and clean kitchen ware. I wish my apartment was this cute! Melissa was very helpful and had a lot of great ideas for local places to check out. Highly recommend. Looking forward to returning to Portland again soon!

    Kristina2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • This airbnb was beyond lovely! There was quick communication with Melissa and the space was amazing for our quick one night in Portland. Very easy to find and close to many great coffee shops!

    Stefanie2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s home was great for our quick overnight stay. The space was clean, and Melissa offered many suggestions of things to do even at our next destination!

    Stefani2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at Melissa's place for a long weekend, and it turned out to be the perfect place from which to explore the city. The restaurants and shops of Alberta St. are in walking distance (about 20mins, or a few minutes on the bus), and it is close to the airport. Melissa provided great suggestions on what to do in the city and was quick to help us with any problem. She is everything we could wish for in a host, highly recommend!!

    Alexander2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Ken’s awesome little basement room with its own private entrance was exactly what my fiancé and I were looking for our 5 year anniversary Portland trip. It gave us a great space to come home to after spending days exploring the city. It was a well designed, stylish place with a recently renovated kitchen and bathroom that provided the space a good mix of cozy and modern. The kitchen was stocked with complementary tea, coffee and beer to make us feel even more at home. But the best part was the bed, which put us instantly to sleep after a long day out in Portland. Melissa greeted us on the first day and gave us a ton of insider tips on things to do in the area. We didn’t get to all of them, but we added the remaining tips to our list for our next trip back. Overall, this is one of our favorite AirBnB stays we’ve had to date. We will definitely be looking to stay here again when we come back.

    Michael2018-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • It's a BIG basement room with a bed on one side, and a FULL kitchen on the other. Large bathroom. Even has a fireplace. Warm and cozy. (Snowed for Xmas while we were there.) Nice amenities all around. One or two people could easily spend several days there while experiencing Portland. It's right near Concordia Univ, which means a pleasant walk over to Alberta shops/restaurants. Melissa is very responsive, but the whole process is so easy, you won't really need to ask for anything. Check-in is super easy. Lots of street parking too. This is our old 'hood, and we'd stay here again for sure.

    John2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s place is amazing! The place is the perfect size for 2 people and it’s such a great location as well! Melissa was very sweet and answered all the questions I had prior to the stay. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to stay a bit outside the downtown area.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Anna and Jeremy’s place was amazing! Great space for the value. I really enjoyed how clean, up to date and stylish the apartment was. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Anna & Jeremy are in incredible hosts! Great communication from the very beginning and super easy to check in, check out, find things, etc. Their home is absolutely gorgeous and the apartment is insanely nice for the perfect price! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, and I will most definitely be back. Thank you again for an awesome experience! :)

    Abby2018-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's peaceful retreat was just perfect... super clean, artistic, cool, comfortable... everything you could want and more. Highlights were definitely the spacious/modern bathroom, the open kitchen layout, and the cozy bed niche. You can certainly tell that Anna and Jeremy put a ton of TLC into this architecturally custom space with charming and unique decor in all the right places. As a host, Anna was above and beyond... offering a wide variety of suggestions of where to eat/play/wander in the neighborhood and the greater Portland area. She truly customizes your experience by providing recommendations that are catered to your interests and desired itinerary. Lastly, the neighborhood was awesome... definitely an up and coming district sprinkled with really cute coffee shops, markets, eateries, a wonderful park, and more. We really hope to be back sooner than later. Thanks again Anna and Jeremy... you guys sure know how to do it right!

  • The apartment was better than we anticipated. The design was stunning and we were amazed at how comfortable it was. We never met Anna and Jeremy because we were mostly out exploring Portland but they were very helpful with check in and even let us know when the apartment was ready for us hours earlier than scheduled!

  • My wife and I stayed at Anna and Jeremy's plane for our trip to Portland a few weeks ago. And it is by far the best airbnb we've stayed in. Beautiful apartment, awesome detail and design, good vibe, clean, comfortable, awesome bathroom, laundry, great neighborhood just about 10 minute drive from all the awesome areas of Portland. Anna and Jeremy were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and really hope we get to stay here again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay. For the price this really is a nice place. We liked the neighborhood a lot for walks. You have your own entrance through the garage. The place even had an iron. Could use a hot plate but other than that we were suoer satisfied. Jonathan always replied really fast if we had a question. As previously mentioned by other guests the washer and dryer are also used by the owner. In our 2 week stay this happened only once so no big deal for us. We were not big fans of the bed but that may have just been personal preference. All in all a great place

  • The three of us moved here from out of state and needed a month to get outselves situated. He was kind enough to pick us up from the airport and share his knowledge of the area. The apartment was very neat and the neighborhood quiet and pleasant. If you enjoy walking, the Max rail is only 20 minutes away and local stores only 10! The seperate entrance is a plus :) Definitely worth the stay, especially if on a budget.

  • Before we arrived, Jonathan kept contacting us for the traffic direction and arriving time. When we arrived, he helped us carry three big suitcases into our room and showed us where the nearest supermarket was. He is very nice and thoughtful. His room is cozy and warm. Highly recommend his place.

  • Suja was lovely and her place was great. She was always contactable for any information on Portland but left me to do what I wanted too. Room is nice and private, in the basement which I loved but may not be ideal for those seeking Natural light. Great place to stay in my opinion.

    Martin2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Suja’s place was sooooo adorable and has everything you need! It’s super clean and you’ll just adore all the decorations and set up, just as we did. Our favorite thing was probably the aesthetic and homey feeling, although it is a basement it’s very bright and vibrant, which was a pleasant surprise for us because my boyfriend and I hate dark rooms so to have lots of lights and the rainbow prisms from the glass windows was such a pretty look in the morning. Only heads up is that it’s a pretty low ceiling on your way down the staircase lol but my boyfriend isn’t very aware of his surroundings so he did hit big head on the way down so that’s the only thing haha but totally not even a complaint, just a fair warning :) YOULL LOVE THIS SPOT SO MUCH OF YOUR OWN PRIVACY

    Adriana2018-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • I basically lived out of Airbnbs for a year for school so I've stayed at quite a few. However, staying at Suja's place probably was the best experience I've had. The space was great and contained all the basics one needs for a stay away from home. It's nestled away in the basement so it offers privacy and quiet when you need it. Suja was by far the best part. She was very attentive and easy to get along with. She also went above and beyond what I've come to expect from hosts and helped salvage part of my trip when I had some very last minute cancelations in important plans. I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough. Next time I'm in the city, I really hope this place is available because I'll be back!

    Joey2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Suja's place was cute and clean, she left helpful notes around the house. She was very accommodating.

    Shelby2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Suja's place is exactly as described and the room has all the amenities you would need. Suja also provides excellent communication. I really enjoyed the neighborhood. I had not explored that part of town previously and was pleasantly surprised to find a nice variety of shops and restaurants nearby. Highly recommend TwentySix Cafe for coffee and a bite!

    Nicholas2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for letting us stay.

    Ken2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Suja was awesome an an exceptional hostess, very friendly, and she was very attentive to anything I might have needed, although that was really nothing. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet with great access to the bus route. It was really affordable and I felt really comfortable there. Thanks suja!

  • Convenient to everything. Excellent place to stay. Home away from home. Parking was right there in his private driveway, which made it so easy. His place was very clean, had everything you needed. We stayed for a week and we could've stay longer if needed.

  • If your looking for a great quiet, relaxing place to stay for a great price then you should stay here. It had a private entrance on side of home and is well lit at night. As you enter studio, it has a very peaceful atmosphere. There is a small table with two chairs for eating or reading. A queen bed that was very comfortable and a rocking chair to sit in and relax. A small area for coffee or tea ( both provided) a small refrigerator, a microwave, toaster oven, a sink and all the kitchen supplies to need if you decide to eat in. The bathroom has. Nice shower and ample space to get ready in the mornings . Shampoo and soap, towels and wash rags also were provided. Host have great communication and made sure we were welcomed with a visit . There is a heater and a ceiling fan. Skylights in ceiling allow you to see outside as your lying down. Wonderful place!

  • Staying here was like a home away from home. Beautiful gardens, easy parking, check in, etc. Hosts were pleasant and happy to give tips and be there for whatever I needed.

    Amy2018-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience in Rodger's detached suite was perfect. We were on a whirlwind trip that had us moving most of our time in Oregon, but they have set up a very nice escape from the city. The house is located right off I5, great since we had destinations down south and on later days on the far side of Portland. The room was very clean, well stocked and included a nice letter including good destinations near the house. I would definitely recommend.

    Sarah2015-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Roger's place. We actually wanted to extend our stay, but his calendar was full. Place was just as described. Very clean and feels very new. Great location if you have a car. Just few minutes to downtown, lake oswego, etc. Roger took his time to converse with us. He provided us with useful info. and gave us great recommendations

    Misha2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Roger's guesthouse for three nights. Very comfortable with all amenities in lovely surroundings and a quiet safe neighborhood. Driveway parking was so helpful. Roger is very kind and helpful - a wonderful host! I highly recommend this spot - easy to get to main highways and thoroughfares.

Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our newly-remodeled, cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with an abundance of natural light, even on the greyest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; It's quite small, so if you're needing more of a "hangout spot" this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • We loved our time at Melissa’s! It is really cute and as a couple of creatives we were incredibly inspired just being inside her place. We got lucky in January to have one day of blue skies and it was beautiful with all the windows! If her place were local to me I would stay there just for a creative workcation! But beyond how charming her place is, Melissa’s hospitality was incredible! Very quick to respond and on top of it all from making sure check in was smooth, to recommendations, to making sure she came out to meet us during our stay. She is awesome! The location was great! Right near plenty of great restaurants and shops! Depending on your mood it’s walkable but you are a few blocks away. If you can’t tell from this review we loved it! I think you will too!

    Corey2018-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay in the studio. Melissa was prompt and helpful in answering our emails prior to our stay. Her thoughtfulness extended to providing a surprising amount of on target amenities. I won't give away all of them so to keep some for a surprise: two umbrellas hanging by the front door, a couple of bottles and a growler to fill at local breweries, card games, generous shampoo/soap/conditioner, hair dryer, fresh flowers in a vase, and so much more. The space was peaceful, clean, well-designed, comfortable and private. It's a place we wanted to spend time in, and not just to crash after a day of exploring the city.

    Lara2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, good location. safe and easy to walk to a lot of neat and varied eateries. As advertised the place was sunny in a beautiful garden setting. We could not have stayed in a better place or had nicer hosts. Overall great experience definitely recommend this as the place to stay in Portland.

  • Words won't even do this place justice, but ill try. From the moment i walked into the studio, i was in love. Head over heels in love. Beautiful, natural light flooding in and touching every corner. The decor and design are so lovely. Melissa has everything you could need - toiletries, kitchen goodies, towels, extra blankets, etc. The bed was so comfortable - i slept a little too long both mornings. The studio is spotless - super super clean! And the location is perfect! absolutely PERFECT! That part of town has quickly become my favorite - such kind people every place i went. The studio is in a really nice, safe neighborhood - perfect for a morning walk. Parking on the street in front of the home is so easy if you have a car. A ton of restaurants and shops are only a few minutes away (easily walkable to a lot of fun places). Melissa had WONDERFUL communication! She was so helpful, kind and attentive to any needs i had (although i had NONE, she covered everything!!). She left a food guide of her favorite dining spots which was so helpful for me. Harlow was my favorite place to eat :) Honestly, i wish i could just rent this studio and live here - it was that incredible! This place was such a sweet haven and the garden area was so picturesque and perfect. I wish i could have spent more time in the little garden nook on the side of the studio. It was the perfect spot for morning tea and just feeling inspired by the space and the beautiful feel of the portland air. This place is an absolute treasure and had such a warm, healing touch that i wasn't expecting. Waking up to the beautiful view from the french doors is something that i will always remember! Thank you Melissa for creating such an incredible space for me to feel relaxed, refreshed and inspired. Please please please don't miss out on experiencing the beauty of this place! You won't regret it!

  • Melissa's place was absolutely perfect. It is such a lovely space - the pictures don't do it justice! Melissa was wonderful to communicate with and very helpful with providing information about the area. The studio was super clean and had everything we needed. This was the loveliest Airbnb we have stayed in! Highly recommended!

Brand new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house. Completely private unit with a separate entrance and self check in. Environmentally conscious space and close to everything. Come get a taste for Portland where beauty, functionality and sustainability come together.
The 400 square foot addition was built in 2015. It is well designed with modern comfort and amenities and provides a quintessentially Portland perfect place to stay during your visit. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and carbon neutral heating), a private entrance, a pull out couch (for a third guest) and a patio. You can minimize your environmental footprint while staying in this net zero energy space complete with solar panels, natural materials, and products, and get around town by bike, light rail, or the electric cars or bikes we also rent (contact us for more details).
Our neighborhood (Overlook) is the best of all worlds. It is located three miles from downtown and a mile from the thriving neighborhoods of Mississippi, Alberta and Williams. It is also quiet, peaceful and residential. We are walking distance from coffee shops, restaurants, bars and parks as well as Portland's regional light rail system that can take you downtown or to the airport.
  • Great experience! Comfy, had everything I needed and check in and out was easy and communicated well

  • The reviews are all true — lovely lovely lovely place near the heart of Portland. Very clean and warm, and the hosts were lovely. Would 100 percent recommend. Loved sitting by the pellet stove at night.

  • It was very easy to find and we had great communication with Joe and easy to get in..quiet neighborhood. Pellet stove was great to come into from the rainstorm. Comfortable couch and great coffee table books. We fell in love with the neighborhood restaurants. We wished the bed was more comfortable...the bed only fits one person in our opinion.

  • The Villa Grand Palazzio Suite is just as described, it is beautiful and comfortable . I also have the chance to meet Shane the host and enjoyed his personable approach and hospitality. I flew late into Portland and late night check in is a breeze. Highly recommended. Shane, thanks again. keep up the good work!

  • We had a very nice stay at the villa. Shane was great with communication and answered all of my questions promptly. It is a nice neighborhood, a stylish spot, and he is a wonderful host. I'm glad he came to introduce himself before we checked out, it made it a more personal stay. Just make sure to pull FIRMLY up on the door handle before you lock it. That will save you confusion. :-)

  • Shane was very responsive and attentive. I was there for less than 12 hours, so for a quick stay, the space was perfect and situated close to the airport. I highly recommend this spot.

    Josh2014-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place looked nicer than expected, truly like a real Italian villa, with a door directly outside. I was pleasantly surprised that Shane greeted me, personally and gave me some tips about getting around Portland. I look forward to staying here again.

    Pete2014-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The villa was very tasteful and totally adorable . Loved the shower. We only stayed one night. We were a little concerned that we might hear traffic at night but thankfully it was quiet. I would definitely stay again.

    Charlotte 2014-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely lovely! Very close to all kind of fun things in NE Portland (which is the best area, IMO). Very cozy, very quiet, very hospitable. Super easy to check in. Shane, the owner, greeted me as I drove up. The landscaping is gorgeous, and the house is beautiful. It's literally right on Mt Tabor, which is a gorgeous park and has LITERALLY the best dog park I have ever seen. Take note-- this villa is huge; it has multiple rooms for airbnb in the front of the house, while the owners live in the back. There are also boarders who live in the basement. So there are definitely other people living on and milling about the property, and you CAN hear your neighbors through the walls. So just be courteous to other guests if you stay here. Also, the driveway is SUPER steep and there are only two parking spaces allowed to guests so as not to inhibit the owners from parking in the garage. I had a real tough time backing my car out. So you may have to park out on the street, which can be a hurdle to deal with as your aren't allowed to park on the street from 4-6pm on weekdays. Weekends are fine though, you can park anywhere you like. Also quick note for anyone who (like me) thought this listing looks huge in the photos: it is one room and a bathroom. It has a small table in the corner of the room for sitting, but really the bed takes up the whole space.

  • Truly enjoyed my stay at “the loft.” Ronald was a great host. The loft was exactly as described, clean, comfortable and private. The room had tv with cable, a mini fridge, a microwave & coffee/coffee maker. Lovely, safe, family friendly neighborhood with plenty of parking . Walking distance to Division St where you can find trendy cafes, food and drink, and shops (loved Flying Cat Coffee, & the cute earnings I bought at Gypsy Chic Boutique!). I’d definitely recommend staying at “the loft.” Great space, at a great price, great location, & great host. Thank you for everything, Roland!

Hawthorne Street has dozens of great restaurants and coffee shops. Come and have the real Portlandia experience! The Hawthorne District is home to funky shops, restaurants, coffee houses, and pubs. Of all Portland's neighborhoods, Hawthorne is "The Bohemian." It reflects an urban niche where alternative is considered mainstream.
  • The studio was quiet and cozy. David was a pleasant host that made sure we had everything we needed and made sure we knew how to use his Roku Tv. I definitely would recommend staying there. It was easy to get everywhere we went in Portland. And his neighborhood is beautiful.

    Miranda2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • David was easy to contact and flexible with arrival time and departure. His home was equipped with all that you need. It is in a great location to walk around or take a lyft downtown.

    Linh2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at David's was perfect for our quick trip to Portland. Communication leading up to our trip was great, and when we arrived David was there to meet us and make us feel at home. The space is perfectly sized for two, nicely furnished and decorated and in a cool neighborhood. My husband and I enjoyed being able to come back to such a relaxing environment and would definitely stay here again on our next trip.

    Kamilah2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • David's place is a cozy, renovated studio located on a quiet, residential street. David was friendly and helpful, clear in all communications and offering suggestions of local eateries. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return to this comfortable pad next time we're in town.

    Webb2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect for what I needed -- a comfy place to sleep. David is friendly and helpful. He greeted me, even when I arrived late evening and gave me the tour. I'd definitely stay here again.

    Julie2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, very comfortable bed, clean and convenient--everything we needed for a weekend visit with our daughter, who lives around the corner. David was great about communication--made everything easy!

  • Paul was a great host. He send very explanatory and helpful messages before we check-in about how we find the location of the house and using the code system to get in and also about the restaurants and attraction points around the neighborhood. His listing on airbnb is what you are gonna get exactly, even better than what you see in the pictures! The studio is extra comfortable and the bed was tempurpedic super comfy!! , there is everything that you need. Organic and biodegradable shampoo and body wash was very nice since I forgot my products and I am so picky about my hair I used the products and they were nice products. I am saying this cause every detail in the studio was thought deeply. And the studio was cozy and warm. Easy Check-in Detailed info by the host Good communication Extra Comfy Bed! Cozy and Warm Studio Very Clean!

This charming little cottage sits back on a large urban lot in quiet NE Portland. Just a 5-10 minute bike ride from many urban gems: the famous Alberta Arts District, locally owned shops, a large natural grocery store and a food-co-op, a non-profit yoga studio, bike shops, bars, bakeries, many coffee shops and restaurants in this food lover’s mecca. You’ll feel like you’re in a quiet country cottage, but you’ll truly be in the heart of the city: only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Portland.
The house includes: New queen bed. Kitchenette including: microwave, toaster oven, electric water kettle, french press and coffee, hot plate, pot and pans, dishes. There's NO oven. The fridge does not have a freezer. Bathroom with hot shower and composting toilet, biodegradable soaps provided for your use. There's only ONE sink, between the kitchen and bathroom. Ample street parking right in front of the house. Free Wi-Fi available to all guests. Guests may also utilize our 1/4 acre yard and hammock (in the dry season). We do our best to minimize our footprint on the planet. This house is on a grey-water system, not connected to the septic system. The bathroom does have a hot shower, but all water drains to a grey water system. We provide complimentary biodegradable soaps for our guests. The toilet is a composting toilet that is cleaned after each guest’s stay. Please help us keep the land chemical free.
We are located blocks from the Alberta Arts District, in the quieter sister neighborhood of Cully. We are true Portland; in fact a scene for “Portlandia” was filmed just 3 doors down from our house! This delightful cottage, nestled on our urban farm, is located within walking or biking distance of (just to name a few): Unique boutiques and vintage shops on Alberta Street and Fremont Street. A wide variety of restaurants including some of the most sought after, fine dining establishments and other truly “Portland” style casual restaurants- Petite Provence, DarSalam, Beast, Tin Shed, Expatriate, Bollywood Theater, Cup & Saucer, Vita Cafe, Pine State Biscuits, The Waffle Window and many more. Bakeries- many to choose from including classic bakeries as well as a vegan bakery and a french patisserie. Independent (and non-profit) movie theater, Hollywood Theater is just 2 miles away. Farmer’s Markets: Cully, Hollywood, Grocery stores within a 3 miles radius include- New Season’s (our local chain health food store), Albertson’s and The Alberta Food Co-op. Ice cream- Salt and Straw, Tonallis and Roses, Random Order Coffeehoue (famous for their pie!) Some of the BEST Food Cart Pod’s in Portland Bus stops a few blocks away and 2 miles from the Max train lines that go downtown Multiple city parks- Fernhill Park, Alberta Park, Wilshire Park
  • Very cozy and clean. Brooke is very kind and respects privacy.

    Grace2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Brooke was super accommodating and I loved the environmental initiatives she is taking In her cottage!

    Nathalie2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was lovely! It was the perfect size for my partner and myself, and was very cozy and homey. The cabin was near town, and was in a great area itself. J Brooke was quick with responding to me, and was a wonderful host! I absolutely recommend staying here.

    Samantha2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at this cabin for our first visit to Portland. Brooke's description of the cabin and its location was accurate. The bed was comfortable, the shower was refreshing, and the toilet was interesting but easy to work with. All the local neighborhoods/districts were close by and never seemed far. Definitely a great little space to stay. The ducks and chickens made it feel very homey. Definitely recommended!

    Ruben2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brooke's cottage is such a cool and unique experience. I stayed there with my wife and two year old daughter and we loved it. My daughter loved running around with the ducks and chickens. It's in a nice location and very easy to get to all parts of Portland. We highly recommend Brooke's cottage for anyone looking to stay in the area.

    Joseph2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is so cozy! The bed, comforter & pillows are heavenly. (I took pictures of the tags, bc I want to order them for my house!) There is so much to do in Portland, that you probably won't be inside long. We weren't in love with the composting toilet, but it wasn't bad for just a few days. I have a lot of respect for this being a green rental. The urban farm, chickens & ducks are precious. There are great restaurants, coffee shops and bars at other end of Alberta. The neighborhood is nice, and you aren't far from the airport or Multnomah Falls. I would definitely recommend getting a rental car to go to the Falls & Cannon Beach, but besides that we Ubered around. The people of Portland are kind. I really loved it out there.

    Kristen2017-01-29T00:00:00Z

Come visit our sweet little 1940s cottage in the heart of Portland's hip Division St. scene! Very walkable, we're 5 minutes from Division and the best coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, and shops Portland offers. You're also a 5 minute drive from Laurelhurst Park, Mt. Tabor, and OMSI, and 10 minutes to downtown! You'll have plenty of ways to soak up local culture and then come home to rest in our serene backyard, watch a movie, or nap in your sunny, happy room.
Beautifully appointed basement apartment with separate entrance, decorated with art we've collected in our travels to Southeast Asia and Africa. You'll have your own living room, brand new full bath with soaking tub, kitchenette and shared laundry. The area stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Cork floors throughout are soft underfoot and keep the place cozy. Bedroom includes a queen-sized bed, wardrobe, desk with chair, two dressers, and a storage area under stairs. For those here for work, the space offers fast internet, multiple work spaces, and access to a printer/scanner. The living room is a great place to hang out and relax read a book, have a conversation, or watch a DVD or Netflix on the 55" Ultra High Definition 4k TV. The kitchenette includes an eating area along with a microwave, coffee pot, electric kettle, toaster, mini fridge, fresh coffee, tea, sugar, mugs, plates, & utensils. If you need more supplies, just ask! Bountiful garden with cherry and Asian pear trees, blueberries, raspberries, hardy kiwis, and a plethora of native plants. Jeff's goal with the backyard was to create a mini-Forest Park (with fruit); let him know how he's doing! Bicycle parking in secured garage and easy, free street parking for cars. US: We are a family of 4 with a 4 year old and an 11 year old. We're a chill family who like to spend time outside and don't watch much TV. When we are home, you will hear us upstairs (it IS a house built in the 1940s!), but our kids aren't rowdy. We're also eco-minded folks who try to keep our footprint small.
Not to gloat, but this is the best neighborhood in town! Extremely walkable, you'll have easy access to amazing pubs, restaurants, shopping, yoga, and more. 5 minute walks from our house: Restaurants: so many! Portland's famous Salt & Straw ice cream shop and Pok Pok Thai are right around the corner. Bollywood Theater and Stella Taco are other faves. Pubs: so many! Hopworks is 3 blocks away one direction; Imperial Bottle Shop 3 blocks in the other direction. Bike Boulevard: We're also right next to Clinton Street, Portland's most active bike boulevard. Rent a bike and cruise on down to the river and soak up some beautiful views of the city! ALL THAT being said, we're also far enough from the action that our street is quiet, friendly, and has plenty of parking. Check out the earthen cob community bench we built with our neighbors a few summers ago!
  • Loved your place. You did an amazing job at turning a basement into a sweet AirBnB! Love all the ethnic trinkets from around the world. Incredibly cozy bed too! Short but sweet stay.

  • As the pictures suggest this is a beautifully put together space, plenty of room and very comfortable! Very friendly hosts, and if you don't have the chance to chat with them they provide helpful written tips of things to see in the area. You can hear footsteps upstairs as they warn but unless you need complete silence for daytime naps I can't imagine this would be an issue. Finally the location is excellent with easy access to everything on the East side of the river. Would highly recommend!

Cozy apartment in a vintage Craftsman bungalow. Rose City Park, great neighborhood with restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance. Travel to airport and freeways easily. This a great spot to stay while exploring Portland.
This is a 100 year old Portland home with a lovely grove of trees out your door. The living room has a leather couch which folds out to a queen sized Memory Foam mattress. Your door is glass and opens to a beautiful forested yard.
This is a wooded neighborhood with lots of vegetation and interesting old houses. It's great for walking or riding a bike. Portland is divided into neighborhoods, each with its own theater, restaurants, stores. We are in Rose City Park, right up the hill from Hollywood. There are coffee shops, theaters, and restaurants nearby. within 5 minutes are Safeway, Whole foods, Trader Joe's, New Seasons and Fred Meyer.

My house is close to light rail and bus lines in a quiet and secure area. Many restaurants, coffee houses and bars are within walking distance and there is a large grocery store nearby in case you need provisions. There are parks within walking distance as is the Adidas campus. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. There is another bedroom that can sleep two and I have an air mattress available.
Private home with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs of the house. Fully equipped kitchen with a laundry room. The stove is gas so please ask for instructions on how it works before using. The back yard is shady and there is a patio with a fireplace. The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to walk around in.
There are quite a few very good restaurants with in walking distance of the house with a sprinkling of coffee houses and bars. Well lit and quiet there are also a couple of parks with in a few blocks. Also a great grocery store is near by.
  • I only stayed at Sheilah's place for one night on my way back to California from Canada, but I wish I could have stayed longer! She was extremely accommodating and communicative, letting me know how to let myself in independently and assuring me that it was no problem to arrive late at night. The room is more spacious than it looks in pictures, and is clean, calming, and relaxing. The house is comfortable and quiet, and the shared bathroom was spotless and easy to access (right outside the room). I had a good night's sleep and was up early the next morning to hit the road again—only got to chat with Sheilah for a few minutes, but she was very warm and welcoming! I'd definitely recommend her to fellow travelers, whether you're just passing through or spending some time getting to know the city. And as a young woman traveling alone, it meant a lot to me that I felt completely safe in her home.

  • I was in town from San Francisco for the weekend for a wedding, traveling solo. This spot was clean and peaceful; the perfect landing spot for a weekend of exploring and celebration. I didn't personally interact with Sheila but she was very helpful with check in instructions. The keypad entry made coming and going easy.

  • Shielah is a very warm hearted lady, who would like to share her experience and advice with me. Also her home is just like Portland: a place full of art. You can feel at home and warm when staying at Shielah's house.

    Fangxing2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah's home is stunning, comfortable and close to downtown. About a 20 minute walk to the heart of downtown, close restaurants and bars but also a very quiet neighborhood. The house was very clean and she supplies everything I would need (shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer etc) and these are things I don't like to travel with. Sheilah was very respectable and polite during my stay. Would recommend to anyone on business or a personal trip. Thank you Sheilah!

    Nicolette2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah was really easy to communicate with. I had no trouble finding her place, and the room was comfortable and clean.

  • Paul’s funky pad is as described! Paul was welcoming. I would recommend others to stay here.

  • Very stylish cozy little upstairs area

  • Excellent location, great place to stay, very clean and comfortable and most excellent customer service overall. Would stay there again!

  • My family and I had a great stay in Paul's home. The apartment is exactly as advertised. While it is a cozy space, we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location is in a beautiful neighborhood, right across the street from a park and a quick drive to many parts of the city. Paul was very helpful and an excellent host. I hope to stay here in the future!

  • Place was amazing for our short stay in Portland! Had a few guests in town as we're from Eugene and their first stay at both an Airbnb and Oregon was amazing and they loved it! Paul was also so nice although we did not interact with him much. The entire experience was so convenient!

    Vanessa2015-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a perfect host! He had thought of every little thing, provided great recommendations and had a really cute place! The little dormer room was adorable and both beds were comfy! Parking was plentiful in the area. Would definitely reccomend or stay there again.

  • Lovely suite. Would stay there again. Impeccably clean, spacious, sunny and very comfortable. Paul is a welcoming and thoughtful host. Great location. We blew the fuse several times by running the air conditioner with the microwave, but Paul flipped it back on in a second.

Plus, a queen bed, kitchen, table, desk, & sitting area with a private entrance around back of the main house. The house is just two blocks from Mississippi Ave, 3/10ths of a mile from the Prescott Yellow line light rail (Max) station, and a couple blocks from the #4 bus line that goes downtown and has regular weekday service every 15 minutes. The space has been lovingly decorated with original artwork and favorite pictures. To give the place a homey feel you'll also find books, and magazines, and a few vintage toys that we love. Feel free to play cards and color a postcard! Your kitchen ( with pour-over coffee maker, pod coffee maker, coffee filters, local coffee, tea, and cream provided) has a fridge, two burners, a microwave, a toaster oven, a sink, and a full set of dishes and pans. There is also a kitchen table with seating for three. The separate bedroom has reading lights, nightstands, a desk, a closet with hangars, a dresser, a coffee table, a chair and a couch. If you have three people in your party, or two people who wish to sleep in separate beds, there are two potential spaces to sleep. The apartment has two separate rooms. If you ask, we can provide a folding single cot bed that can be set up in the kitchen/dining room. This bed will be in a different room than the bedroom. This bed is 74.5" long by 32" wide. Another sleeping option for an extra person is to sleep on the couch in the bedroom. It easily turns into a small bed that is 37" wide and 57" long, so not suitable for tall people. We will make this up for an extra guest as the default. Children are welcome, but count as people for pricing. The desk in the bedroom is equipped with an art deco reading light and a radio. There are electrical outlets all over the apartment. The bathroom has a tiled shower with two shower grab-bars. The bathroom comes equipped with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap. There is also a blow-dryer stored in the cabinet next to the sink. Heating is provided by two electric heaters which keep the place cozy in the winter. There is one in the kitchen/dining room and one in the bedroom. There is also a dehumidifier that keeps the place pleasantly cool in the summer. Free WiFi is provided. The login information is on the table in the kitchen. We ask that you do not download any copyright protected material during your stay. The lock on the entry door has a keycode that you will be given shortly before check-in. There is a motion activated light in the back of the house that will illuminate your path in the dark There is a smart TV in the apartment bedroom. It has Netflix and Amazon Prime already set up for you to watch. Genie and George are around upstairs and available for discussion, but without prompting will leave you alone. You can reach them by text, phone, or by knocking on the front door. Mississippi Avenue is a delight! All Portland does best is just outside the door. There are brewpubs, quaint shops, craft cocktail bars, some of the best coffee in the US (Stumptown at the Fresh Pot), Taxidermy, New York Times reviewed food carts, and amazing restaraunts, all just a few blocks away. "The Skidmore Bluffs", a local park (with glorious views of the Willamette, Forest Park, and even the St. Johns Bridge on clear days) is less than a mile away. The house is very close to I-5, 3/10ths of a mile from the Prescott Yellow line light rail (Max) station, and two blocks from Mississippi Ave #4 bus line that goes downtown and has regular weekday service every 15 minutes. There is a blow-dryer in the bathroom for guest use. There is also a white-noise machine in the bedroom.

  • Lovely little spot. Enjoyed the public transit to the city immensely. The basement apartment was very bright and light, and honey. Appreciated the coffee and chocolates especially :) It was an honest relief to stay as we were having car trouble and were hot messes all around. George was super accommodating and responsive which was a total relief. Backyard was lovely and wish we had more time to utilize it.

    Julianne2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome hosts! George was very friendly and the space was great, super comfortable and cheery with all the lovely colors.

    Kyle2015-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend George and Genie's sweet basement apartment. It's in the fantastic Mississippi area, wonderful walking, cafes, restaurants nearby. It was quiet and very clean, and had so many lovely little touches. They were understanding about a slightly late arrival when I wasn't able to use my phone in the US, were available when needed, and even helped us out when my friend forgot a few things in the apartment by sending them to us. Incredible people, adorable apartment, highly recommended! I hope to stay with George and Genie again someday!

    Marita2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Genie and George's place was exactly what we were looking for during our trip. It was clean, quiet, cozy, and they provided us with everything we needed to feel right at home. We would definitely stay with them again and recommend them to anyone coming to the area.

    Tim2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great neighborhood to stay in! The living space and the out door space was welcoming, and beautiful. Highly recommend!

  • Quirky and unique spot - very memorable

    Aaron2018-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Genie and George's place was great. They communicated clearly and easily with us. Although we didn't interact much, they were attentive to any messages that we sent. The internet was great! The space was tidy with fun decor and more than enough space for two. Thanks again for a great stay in Portland!

    Andrew2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What an eclectic and art filled space. I personally LOVED the literature that graced this lovely, cozy basement apartment. My wife and I stayed here immediately after our wedding, just to have one more night alone in Portland, and it was PERFECT. George was actually outside to greet us when we got there! And Genie was so warm and kind. They even replaced our broken beer bottles (we dropped our whole grocery bag in the kitchen), with a bottle of wine! They definitely did not have to do that. Seriously kind people. The space was perfect, the back yard was amazing. I even loved the little calico cat that tromped through their garden. We would highly recommend staying here for a private, cozy space.

It is conveniently located 2 miles from downtown Portland. It has a private bathroom and has its own private entrance. It is comfortable for one person. It has access to a small deck that gets partial sun. Easy access to the public transportation .5 miles to the nearest bus stop.
The space includes a bedroom and a private modern minimalistic bathroom and shower. It also includes central AC with a return air duct near the bed to keep the air fresh and ventilated for a comfortable night sleep.
It is a peaceful neighborhood. It is well lit at night. We have a neighborhood watch program in place.
  • Jonathan was a great host who was very friendly and flexible even for a guest like me who had to check in late (almost midnight). Jonathan's property was very clean, well maintained, and has a private entrance.

  • Had an absolutely great stay at Johnathan's. The room was cozy, new, extremely clean and very comfortable. It was great to have a bathroom connected to the room and a separate entrance on the side. Great neighborhood and very close to OHSU. Would most definitely recommend!

    Janie2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Totally perfect space for interviewing at OHSU...There are hangers and a iron, washer/dryer, and a (Website hidden by Airbnb) was all I️ needed for a two night stay while interviewing for residency. Bathroom is gorgeous and spacious and well equipped with hairdryer, body wash, lotion, shampoo, etc. Jonathan was an incredibly gracious host and equipped both bathroom and main room with space heaters, even though there is central heating. Private entrance with a little deck, a small desk, and quick access downtown via Lyft made this a perfect spot. I️ would absolutely stay again!

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • wow, could not have picked a better place! everything from the hosts to the ambiance and cleanliness and accommodations was top notch. it was such an ideal place to retreat to after being out and about. my only regret is not having more time to interact more with brad & becca & carlos & diego but i have a feeling i'll be back! :)

    Mariel2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca welcomed us to their home and they were awesome hosts. The space is exactly as described, very comfortable, clean and private. They are also very friendly, and very willing to answer questions and share traveling tips. It was our first time using Airbnb, and we couldn't have asked for better hosts. And for pet lovers, their animals are really fun to be around too.

    Amanda2014-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Brad & Becca's home was beautiful and extremely well decorated. Brad is very artistic. I enjoyed my stay there and felt very comfortable.

    Tony2015-12-12T00:00:00Z

  • I am a passionate airbnb host and so of course use airbnb when I travel. This space was very reasonably priced, immaculately clean, and very well located. We were going to a graduation for our son at Reed College and it was about five minutes away. The house came complete with a wonderful cat named Biscuit who was totally cuddly and made my stay incredible. The hosts cleaned the light, airy bathroom every day and left us to our own devices. We had access to the kitchen to make coffee and get our cereal and felt secure and very comfortable. Parking on the street was never a problem. Also, the hosts were more than gracious about canceling an additional night we did not need. They did not have to, but gave us a full refund. YOu would pay triple this amount to stay in a comparable hotel experience, and would not have the luxury of feeling like you a re i,n a unique space. The hosts, though somewhat reserved and formal, were gracious and take airbnb seriously. They pay their taxes and are fully above board. I would recommend them heartily. You won't find a cleaner, more accessible and affordable place to stay in Portland.

    Jane-Marie2014-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Brad & Becca's place was amazing. We loved the place as did our kids. The velvety wallpaper was super cool.

    Tara2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca's place was great. It was clean and cozy. They have the sweetest cat and dogs. My dad and I just fell in love with the animals. The neighborhood is nice and we felt very safe. It's about 20 mins from downtown but honestly we loved all the pocket neighborhoods outside of downtown. Brad and Becca respond very quickly. Thank you both for your hospitality.

    Sarah2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Becca & Brad are lovely and the house was exactly as described & expected. This was my first time as an Airbnb guest and all my future stays will have to live up to my stay with Brad & Becca in their awesome place! The bed is indeed super comfy and that's one of the most important things for me. I stayed with my dog Coco and it was much easier than I thought it might be. They have a 2 dogs and a cat I saw once- all easy going. The front stairs are a little steep, so if If you are less steady on your feet that's something to consider. I'll definitely stay again when I'm in town! Yay Airbnb :)

Buckman is a close in SE Portland neighborhood which is an increasingly popular place to live. The apartment is at the eastern end of the neighborhood. There are parks, a picturesque cemetery, good restaurants, wine bars, craft brewing pubs and the Laurelhurst movie theater, all within walking distance. The #15 bus line runs to downtown on the other side of the cemetery (6 blocks). A little further afield (just over a mile) is the Hawthorne district where there are some off beat shops and more places to eat and drink. Downtown is 2 miles away. The apartment is part of a new build and is situated at the rear of the property next to the garden It is one story up (over the garage) and receives a lot of natural light. It is fully self-contained, all appliances are new which makes self-catering very easy. What it lacks in history it more than makes up for in convenience! There is also ample free street parking directly outside the house. Buckman is pretty close to downtown while still having a residential flavor. It also contains a number of agreeable restaurants, wine bars and brewpubs. Everyday shopping needs such as grocery stores are also well served. Additionally it is pretty easy to get to the major freeways for travel purposes. Buses run to downtown and back a few blocks over.
  • I have only good things to say about this space. To our delight it was a spacious apartment with all of the amenities - even a fully equipped kitchen! The furniture was comfortable, everything was spotless, and the neighborhood was lovely and walkable. Cara and Roger are extremely responsive and go above and beyond the call of hosting!

    Sam2016-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay. The studio was beautifully appointed, quiet, and super clean. Was in town for a week long business meeting and this was the perfect place. Wireless network worked super fast. I wish I had had more time to explore the neighborhood. Will likely be back in Portland again this year and hope to stay again.

    Claire2016-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cara and Roger are very thoughtful hosts and committed to providing their guests with the most comfortable accomodation possible. The room is spacious and well equipped with every imaginable need from cooking supplies (oils, spices) to laundry detergent for the washer and dryer. Cara was readily accessible by her cell phone and solved all our problems and answered every question. It was very clean with nice bedding and fluffy towels and good quality toilettries. There was even a welcome bottle of wine and delicious Stumptown coffee! The location was perfect for our needs: within easy walking distance of eclectic restaurants and coffee shops and a nice hike to Old Town and the Pearl district. We would highly recommend it!

    Rita2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Cara's studio apartment was wonderful! When we arrived, there was wine awaiting us. The bed was incredibly comfortable (I need to find out where I can buy those pillows!) and the place was immaculately clean. I would recommend Cara's studio to anyone visiting Portland, and I would definitely stay here again!

    Kim2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cara was so easy to communicate with, accommodating and willing to think of all the details to make our stay in Portland a great one. The space is cozy and had everything we needed to feel right at home, 2,000 miles from home. It was clean, neat and stocked. Thanks for everything Cara! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

    Alex2014-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • I could not have asked for a better place to stay while visiting Portland for the first time. The studio was very close to public transport and many restaurants that are too delicious for words. I highly recommend this studio, it really felt like home away from home!

    Courtney2015-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was lovely! The studio is set up really nicely and with great attention to detail, with all the amenities and conveniences you could think of. Clean, bright, and comfortable. For us, it was a good location: walkable to several nice restaurants, with access to the public bus, and inexpensive for Lyft or Uber to get downtown. Roger and Cara were great about communication and very friendly. We had a great time!

    Laura2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place, quiet and private, with all the comforts that you’d hope for. The tastefully-decorated apartment was comfortable, well-lit, and very clean. We were there during very cold weather but the apartment’s excellent insulation kept us cozy and comfortable despite the below freezing temperatures outside. The kitchen was one of the best I’d ever encountered among vacation rental units. It had everything we needed to prepare meals--from a full array of appliances, to dishware, pots and pans, cooking utensils, pantry basics (like cooking oil), and even a variety of spices. The bed sheets were outstanding, worthy of a luxury hotel. Thorough instructions for the facility were provided, along with an interesting array of magazines and on Portland. We enjoyed the location which is in a leafy neighborhood with easy access to downtown. Our only regret is that we didn’t get around to meeting Cara and Rodger. Clearly they must be smart sensitive people, as evidenced by their top-notch apartment that clearly has been prepared with thought and care. We look forward to booking a return visit!

Great for a clean, safe place to rest after busy days of explore the pacific northwest.
We are located in an amazing NE Portland neighborhood called Kenton. It's a quirky district that feels at home in Portlandia. There are a ton of really cool coffee shops, bars, bakeries and brunch spots. A distinguishing feature is our historic Paul Bunyan statue on Denver street. It's a must see in this very walkable neighborhood.
  • We booked Laura’s place last minute while driving down interstate 5, after escaping Seattle’s snow storm. The place was easy to find and check in was super easy as well. Overall, an amazing place to stay while in the Portland area. Super cute!! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large for the place! It was walking distance from a few different restaurants, stores and bars. Laura’s place was perfect for our couple of nights in Portland. Also, it was about a 15 minute drive to the airport and downtown which was also very convenient!

    Ashley2019-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is the cleanest Airbnb that I've ever stayed at! The Portland decor was fun and it felt very cozy inside. The shower is huge and has lots of natural light. There's a grocery store almost next door. The cons are that you can hear the road noise outside your door. But the bus stop right outside could be a plus for some people. There were ear plugs on the desk so that was a nice touch. The door was a little hard to find but Laura responded almost immediately and made sure I got inside ok.

    Amanda2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and were so happy we did. The place is so clean and beautiful and had everything we needed and more. It is very private and super convenient to check in and out on your own. Really loved the amenities such as small kitchenette and amazing bathroom. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Jo Ann2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is clean and new. The bed is very comfy and there is a lot of space. There is a bus station 20 feet from the front door, which is good and bad. Easy access to public transportation, but you can hear the bus from inside the apartment. So if you are a light sleeper, this is something you should note. The hosts were very kind and access was very easy.

    Sandy2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location! Clean quiet and modern.

    Kara2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's apartment was very nice and very clean. There were lots of fun neighborhoods nearby, and downtown Portland is just a short drive away. Parking and check-in couldn't be easier! Thank you for a nice stay! I would definitely consider returning to this spot in the future. Thank you!

    John2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place is in a great location and the size and cleanliness were just what we expected. We really liked the neighborhood and the ability to walk to the grocery store and a few bars and restaurants and it was a good location for us. Very clean and has everything you need. We thought the bed was very uncomfortable and loud. My husband could feel the box spring through the mattress and woke up with a back ache each morning. The bed is also very creaky so anytime one of us got up at night the other person woke up. For this reason we wouldn't stay here again but it seems others didn't have the same problem. Other than that everything was good and Laura was very easy to communicate with.

  • This unit is very nice and outfitted with some great amenities, like a mini fridge and coffee maker. Laura even has instructions on how you can enjoy the gas fire pit in the courtyard. The area is also very quiet, so it is easy to relax here.

I'm offering a comfortable clean bedroom in the best neighborhood in Portland. Self check in so late night arrivals are no problem. On all major bus lines. New Seasons market one block away and 20+ restaurants in a 15 block radius. Free street parking. LGBTQ friendly. 3 small dogs live here so if you don't love dogs, this is not the place for you.
I'm offering a bedroom in my four bedroom home on the main floor right next to the shared bathroom. The bed is a comfy queen size. My home has a back porch with a cozy deck for eating breakfast and sipping coffee and a picnic area under the arbor for dinner and relaxing. The dogs can be a bit intense, but Rocky is always down for a head scratch.
Dozens of excellent restaurants within walking distance of the house. Two grocery stores within 4 blocks. Major bus lines will take you downtown in ten minutes. Our neighborhood is quiet and clean in the heart of Portland's biking community. We're also within walking distance to the Aladdin Theater so come see a show while you're here!
  • We had a great stay at Kara's. Everything was as listed and check-in/out went smoothly. We didn't meet Kara, but her housemates were lovely. Great neighborhood and beautiful house.

  • Kara was welcoming and accommodating! We had a very busy schedule, with work, interviews and a quick checkout time, but the entire time it never felt like a we were being a bother. A wonderful host! She's not kidding when she says her place is a walker's bliss. So much to do in such a small radius!

  • Kara’s place was exactly how you would imagine. My late check-in was no inconvenience to her. She was very helpful with local tips, hot tea, and an umbrella for the freezing rain. I would recommend her to any and all lonely travelers!

  • Kara was very flexible with our arrival, as we got into the city two hours before we thought we would check in. The dogs are barkers but that's fine, they didn't bother us. We slept like rocks in the cozy bedroom.
