“Elecletic trip back in time with proudly prepared locally sourced. Ever changing menu always interesting. And the tiny village has unique odd and rare articles to shop over. Ancient hotel across the street looks inviting. Scenic drive to boot. ”

“This is a nicely paved trail with great views from the cliffs over the Marina. Snake Road was a road from Martinez to Port Costa. There is a point now where the road is closed to vehicles and only bikes and foot traffic allowed. You can drive All the way down Alhambra Avenue towards the Downtown and turn left on Escobar. Then turn right on CARQUINEZ SCENIC DR and follow it past Rankin Park and the Community Pool and Park. (Rankin Park is also a very fun park with walking trials and artistic play structures.) You'll pass the St. Catherine of Sienna Cemetery and then up the hill you will find the trial head.”

“ Because it's amazing. There is a giant Polar Bear that guards the bar. They have steak, lobster and prime rib for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Hamburgers and specials on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. It is the place to be for outside music in the summer. Small historic town on the straits. Great to meet the local flavor.”
