Pomena Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Pomena

Apartments „Mali Bulo“ are located in the heart of national park in small fishing village Pomena, surrounded with pine forest, just a few minutes walk from the lakes.
  • Joško was a terrific host. He was very polite and always available during our vacation on Mljet. Accomodation was great. The apartment is very clean and has everything you need. Place has a wonderful view on the marina in Pomena. We were 400 m away from the small lake in national park. Beautiful. Joško recommended several nice restaurants werr they serve fresh fish and which are not to expensive (iz Soline). I would recommend visiting Mljet island to everyone and of course staying in 'Mali Bulo' apartments

    Ivan2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Joško’s apartment was perfect for our needs. It was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean and well equipped for self-catering. The large balcony has splendid sea views. Joško is an excellent host. His communication is good and he’s full of ideas and knowledge about the local area. We really enjoyed our stay in Pomena. It’s a small vibrant place with great access to the beautiful Mljet National Park. There are two grocery stores very close to the apartment which are well stocked, and lots of restaurants to choose from, all within walking distance. Swimming off the rocks is fun around the corner from the Hotel Odisej, but by far the best swimming is in the National Park. Make a picnic, rent a kayak and paddle off until you find a spot to moor and spread a blanket out on the rocks, you’ll feel like you have the place to yourself. There is also great hiking and the Mljet National Park publishes an excellent (and essential) map with the routes clearly marked. One excellent hike leaves from Pomena and takes you all the way to the Monastery at the big lake, whereby you can follow the path around the lake back to Pomena, having a swim en route of course. The hike up to the National Park’s highest point, Montokuc, is essential for great views of the lakes. Go when it cools down! It’s a beautiful forest walk, but fairly demanding in the heat. We'd love to go back to Pomena and continue exploring the National Park, and would definitely stay with Joško again.

  • Josko was very friendly and welcomed us already on the street and even helped us to carry our luggage! He sat down with us and explained in detail what to do on the island, that was really helpful! The apartment is wonderful, much bigger than we expected and very clean. It has a beautiful wooden floor and a white elegant Mediterranean interior. The rooms have AC but we used the ceiling ventilators which was very comfortable. Just meters away are two small supermarkets (things are more expensive on the island, so it's worthwhile to bring basic stuff from the mainland) and the kitchen is equipped to make some basic meals and breakfast. The balcony is perfect to enjoy a wine with a view on the harbour. The small lake is just 10-15 min away the location is perfect to walk/ cycle through the amazing national park. We can only highly recommend this place, thanks again very much for everything Josko!

    Daniel2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Josko was very welcoming and the place is really nice and a great place to explore the Nation Park

  • We spent 5 days in Joško's apartment and absolutely loved it! The location is perfect, just minutes from the lakes. The apartment itself was extremely clean and very nicely decorated. It has an amazing balcony and a well equipped kitchen. Joško was very helpful, gave us tips on what to do and always made sure we had everything we needed. This place has been the best air bnb we've stayed in! Highly recommended!!!

    Janna2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and quiet apartment. Well furnished and stylish. Joško is a very nice host who knows everything about this beautiful island.

    Alberto2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Josko is a wonderful host who is there to help his guests in any way possible. He picked us up from the port in Polace and spent time telling us about the local area. The apartment is lovely, bright and airy and just like the photos. The National Park is a very special place and this is the perfect base for enjoying it. A very relaxing stay.

    Abi2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, spacious apartment with a lovely view from the balcony. Located in the heart of Pomena and only a few steps away from restaurants, cafes, shops and the National Park of Mljet. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. Josko was friendly and welcoming and gave us helpful tips of what to do on the island. Highly recommend!!

My place is located in the National Park Mljet (Polace), a few meters from the sea, very close to the Roman palace remains. It has a great view, you’ll love it because of the mediterranean ambiance which is full of life. Studio apartment has 25 m2 with a terrace of 12 m2, it is great for couples and solo adventurers.
  • The place is located in the small and lovely town of Polače. Since the moment we arrived, Nikola picked us up from the bus stop and explained us the things to do around with some home-made liquor, that was great. He is very friendly, welcoming and nice. The place looks bigger and nicer than in the pictures and it is clear that Nikola takes great care of the details and the property. A great thing is that he offered to store our luggage and in the afternoon took us to the ferry in Pomena with his car. Our experience was great in every aspect and the island is really beautiful. We would like to return next year!

    maria2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was AMAZING. The location was perfect, located in a peaceful street, surrounded by cosy restaurants, bikes rental companies and just near the place to by the tickest for the natural park. The most important thing was that it was just in front of the sea, and the noise of the sea in the morning was just magic. Nikola was absolutely welcoming, he picked us up from the ferry and took us back too, and he even brought and had breakfast with us the last day. Very recommendable.

    Nagore2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nikola was very helpful and friendly. The apartment is located right near the Polace ferry stop. There are several restaurants and a grocery store close by. You can get to the park either by walking or by shuttle that leaves quite close to the apartment. The apartment was cost and clean. Would stay again!

    Steven2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! Literally in the middle of everything! There is not much happening in this town (in September) so it is still very quiet. The ferry, numerous restaurants and the supermarket are all in 2 minutes distance. Nikola was very nice and even went to look for us at the place the bus dropped us off (If you are coming with the bus, you should tell the bus driver you are going to Nikola and he will drop you off at the right place). When checking out Nikola agreed to keep our luggage at his yard so we couldenjoy the island before leaving. The apartment is basic but exactly like on the pictures and very clean. We had a great time!

    Reto & Tania2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nikola was a wonderful host, extremely helpful and full of advice for what to do on our short stay on Mljet. The apartment is perfectly situated right on the waterfront next to coffee shops and restaurants.

    Charlotte2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Nikola's apartment! The location was perfect and RIGHT in town! It was so fun hanging out on the porch and people watching. Nikola gave us great recommendations and even drove us to a different port to catch our ferry when we left. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back!

    Lindsey2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nikola's apartment is perfectly located in the heart of Polace. Under a 2 minute walk to the bus to Mljet National Park, the beach, and multiple restaurants. His front porch is the perfect place to relax and watch the sunset. To top it all off, Nikola was a gracious and knowledgeable host and even picked us up / dropped us off in Pomena so we could make our boat. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay on Mljet!

    JEFFREY2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing experience to stay with Nicolas's place. He kindly picked us up and drop us at the ferry station in Pomena. His place has a wonderful location and the view of sunset is super. Highly recommended!

Completely renovated and furnished for a truly peaceful and delightful stay located in the village Goveđari, overflowing with traditional stone houses, 500 m from the sea. Features include air-conditioning, WiFi Internet, TV, grill on the terrace.
The apartment is extremely well equipped with a double bed and a corner sofa that can be transformed into an extra bed for two persons, a fully equipped kitchen with hob, fridge, freezer, and toaster, bathroom with walk-in shower.
  • If you want absolute quiet, away from it all, from the other tourists, from the traffic noise, plus a slice of croatian village life, this place is for you! The village is tucked up in the hills and incredibly peaceful, with views of green tree covered hills (i did miss the sea view a bit at first but the stunning lakes are v close and there's a lovely restaurant on the lake, mali taj). The flat is lovely and well equipped, we cooked for ourselves 2 nights, and perhaps the best thing is Kristina's (who looks after the flat) fish (URL HIDDEN) was absolutely delicious! Absolutely have it at least (URL HIDDEN) one of my 2 favourite meals of the whole holiday. Some practical tips: If you stay here, take a torch - unless you have a car/moped - as it's a bit complex walking back from the lake in the dark (tho manageable, pay attention on the way down and there are ligths once you're up near the village), and some mosquito repellant/ incense. also, we are immensely grateful to Tanja and Kristina for posting a left behind piece of clothing to us! thank you to our hosts very much for that!

    becky2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great host and home. Picked us up at the ferry and helped us pick up our rental. Gave us the scoop on the island and things to do. The best air bnb I've stayed in with the best host. We will be back. The apartment is gorgeous. Tanja's neighbor cooked us an amazing dinner too!

    Seth2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to escape to. The house is wonderful and an easy 10 minute walk to the incredible national park and the lakes.

    Sarah2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Tanja's place ! The appartment is located in a small and quiet village, really charming. It is really well furnished and very cosy. It takes only 10 minutes by foot to reach the lake which made it easy to go for a swim whenever we wanted ! Tanja is a great host : she did all she could to ease our stay and was very helpfull. We really recommand Tanja's place :)

    Valentin2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely studio apartment in a very quiet and peaceful village. The apartment looks bigger than the photos and has obviously been only recently renovated. It was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We were met at Pomera by Kristina, a neighbour who was happy to wait while we did some shopping. It is 15 mins walk to the national park but another 5-10mins to the lake where you can swim. We were able to manage the distance but it is uphill on the way back and hot so may be difficult for small children or older people. Transport is a bit tricky unless you have a car, bikes or are happy/able to walk so come prepared with food. Kristina helped us arrange a taxi to Sobra port and also provided a delicious fish meal one evening which we enjoyed.

    Pascale2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This very charming apartment is definitely one to return to ! We had a short stay of one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. Godevari is a very small village in the middle of the national park which gives a very authentic feeling. The apartment is larger than appears in the photos. We cooked dinner and enjoyed our evening on the little terrace outside with view of the mountains. Tanja helped us a lot with pre-arrival to find the right ferry. Mjlet island is so beautiful , we can recommend kayaking in the small and large lakes, visiting St Mary's island and taking the hike up to Montoruc with breathtaking views.

    Laya2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • It was just what the doctor ordered! The apartment was perfect for us and thoroughly enjoyed exploring beautiful mljet. Kristina gave us lots of really helpful local info and defo get the bikes, really useful and added extra fun to our trip. We'll be back!

  • The apartment was wonderful, beautiful and very clean! Tanja was extremely nice and even drove us from the harbour to the apartment and from the apartment to the harbour! She recommended a few place for us to visit. The island of Mljet is gorgeous! We can defenetly recommend visiting Mljet and staying at Tanja's!

"Studio Polače" located in the national park Mljet in Polace, 20meters from the Roman palace, 10meters from the sea. Polace offers a variety of restaurants where you can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, rent a bike, take a walk and enjoy the beautiful nature. Lakes are only 3 km away from the apartment.. WELCOME
  • Mario and his family were very kind and welcoming. The appartment was great and matched the pictures on the site. It is well decorated, clean, luminous and well situated in the middle of polače (wich is only at 2km from the national parc). When leaving the appartment we received a beautiful gift made by a family member, it was very kind of them! We also got discounts on some activities such as renting a bike thanks to mario! I would definitely recommend this appartment.

    Manon2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mario and his family was fantastic. It is a great place to discover Mljet National Park....The place offers even a large variety of restaurants with fresh fish next to the fruits Marios mother has given us.

    Jan Oliver2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful 2 night stay. Mario kindly picked us up from the port in Pomena and took us to Polace - a 5 minute drive. The studio apartment is newly decorated and furnished to a really high quality. Wonderful views over the bay. Easy walking location to all local amenities - plenty of restaurants and the supermarket, bakery and National Park office all on your doorstep. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this studio. Would love to come back.

    Edward2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful studio apartment on the waterfront with all the amenities you could need. Mario was an excellent host and helped us with renting a car and helped us with our transfers from the ferry to the apartment. The stay could not have been better - thoroughly recommend!

    Jo2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very good flat location at Polače. Apartment nice, clean and full equiped. He gave us useful indications for activities and places. The app is just next to their own home, so it was easy to ask of any doubt. We were also gifted with some cake from his mother and some handmade souvenirs from his brother. We had some trouble with ferry tickets at departure and he helped us to solve it out and even drove us to Pomena.

    Jordi2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mario's apartment was perfect. It is in a lovely location in the beautiful and peaceful 'town'. I couldn't see or think of anywhere better in Polace and if I returned I'd look to stay in Mljet again. Mario clearly cares for the apartment, the decor is near, modern and well finished. Very comfortable. Nothing negative to say. Mario himself was helpful friendly and kindly. His mother treated us to some delicious apple pie which was also welcoming. Perfect.

    Trevor2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic. Firstly Mario picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry which was a massive help and time saver. The place it self is perfect. It's been recently renovated to a very high standard which makes it feel like a top hotel suite. The best part it the beautiful private terrace overlooking the harbour, perfect place to have a drink in the evening. The location is great also, right outside the ticket office and bus stop for the national park, there is a nice pebble beach 30m away, lots of good restaurants and a super market. It was a pleasure staying here, highly recommend.

    Houman2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Mario was an absolutely outstanding host! He picked us up at the ferry and droppes us off at our departure. Was close to busses heading for the national park, and had many restaurants, supermarket, bakery and such in walking distance. The place was clean and had all the utilities one would need. There is also a balcony for enjoying wine at late evenings. Would recommend

My place is close to Great Lake and Small Lake in Mljet National Park. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
  • Diana is a great host who set everything up fantastically for our stay, including speaking to our bus driver from the port! Govidari is a really good location close to some beautiful spots on the lake. Thank you Diana for a wonderful trip and for being so accommodating and friendly!

    Christy2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Diana was a kind and gracious host, as well as attentive to your needs. She made sure to organise transfers from the port to her apartment, and also checked in routinely to make sure everything was perfect. The house itself is spacious, clean, well-furnished and had a lovely private outdoor area. Diana's father was also kind enough to pop by with some freshly picked figs one day! Hospitality at its finest.

    Matthew2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Diana was a nice host! She and her father welcomed us with a great piece of cake, explained us the main sites to visit during our stay in Mljet and answered very quickly every questions we had! Her father even helped us to start the barbecue fire! The apartment is nice with everything you need and is located in a very quiet village which was perfect for us to relax!

    Philippe2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely secluded spot in the hills above the lakes in the national park. It is a substantial walk - 30 minutes each way - to Pomena, which is needed for any shopping or restaurants - it is therefore better suited to a couple rather than a solo traveller in my view. Diana's hosting cannot be faulted - she was all things: hostess, taxi driver, travel agent etc. She really made my stay. I would recommend the place to friends.

    Joseph2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Diana's place was a little haven on the beautiful island of mljet. Diana was extremely welcoming and went out of her way to pick us up from the ferry port and her father kindly took us back. We were also given some delicious homemade cake when we arrived. The apartment has everything you would need for a comfortable stay and is not far from a small town with lovely restaurants and shops. Mljet is a treasure trove of wildlife and natural beauty, where we saw mongoose, deer, plenty of butterflies alongside all kinds of fish in the clear blue lakes. I would definitely recommend Diana's place to anyone considering going here and hopefully we will return one day too!

    Alice2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Diana was a wonderful host. We suggest her house very quiet and confortable especially if you want to visit the National Mljet Park. It's necessary to rent a scooter or a car to visit the island. Pomena is the nearest port and village but it's anyhow necessary to have a scooter or a car.

    Valentina2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment has a beautiful view and the location in Govedari is perfect for exploring different parts of the national park. We enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace and eating fresh figs from trees along the roads. The apartment is perfect for two and has everything you need. Govedari has no restaurants or shops, but it's easy to go to Pomena or Polace. You can walk, but it's better to rent bikes or a car. Diana helped us to rent bikes and had them delivered to the apartment, which saved us a lot of time. The weather was very hot when we were at the island, so we did miss some air conditioning, but we managed with having the fan on during the night.

    Mette2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Diana, along with her family and friends, was an exceptional host! She helped us to book the right ferry (Kapetan Luka to Pomena is best) and her father and friend collected us and Diana dropped us off at the ferry. It was our honeymoon and there were flowers on the bed, champagne and a delicious torte awaiting us! Diana was always on hand via text to help us in any way and her father and family were nearby to help with anything else. Mljet was a lovely place to stay and the apartment is perfectly located for walks in the national park, 30min walk either to Pomena or Polace (through the park) where there are restaurants, shops and ATMs. Shops are quite small but have most things you need - there is a big supermarket Konzum in Dubrovnik Port where you could stock up on things if you wished. Can also recommend the restaurant Mali Raj on the lakeside for incredible grilled fish. We'd love to come back!

  • Really nice apartment with beautiful view on the Polace bay. Pave & Antonio are so helpful with their hosts : they advised us the best places in the island! They have always kindly attention. Don't looking for another place to stay in Polace!

  • Excellent stay. Antonio and pave are extremely kind !! I recommend it !

    luc2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Pave is a great host, very welcoming. The apartment has a great view over Polace Bay. The location is great it is easy to go to the lakes either by walking (3km) either by a free shuttle every hour. (And Polace bay is more beautiful than Pomena's). We recommand !

    Juliette2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a true airbnb experience ... amazing view ... super accomodation and hosts who make you feel like one of their family. It is so quiet as compared to Dubrovnik and just what we needed to relax. The national park is a must and the local restaurants are excellent. We cannot fault this place and will return. Thank you Pave!

    Chris2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment looks big, but you should be careful not to hurt your head at the pitch of the roof. The floor was very dirty, with hair, dead animals and dust. Also the kitchen utensils were not clean. After taking a shower the first night and using the toilet on the next morning, the bathroom floor was under water! We told the hosts and they were nice trying to fix it. Nevertheless the floor in the whole apartment was disgusting. Another thing was the bed - it was really uncomfortable. The hosts tried to be very nice, but we wouldn't book the apartment again.

    Nina2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent place to stay on mljet. Very quiet and relaxed town with great restaurants and a shuttle into the park. The room was great with everything you could need and a balcony with a view of the bay. The hosts were extremely hospitality and made us cake. Very helpful with whatever you need. Highly recommended

    chris2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Antonio was waiting for us at our arrival and helped us find the apartment, where Pave greeted us with a drink. She is a super nice person, always up for a chat and trying to help us at all times. Although she doesn't speak much english she made her best to understand each other, so this wasn't a problem. The apartment has an unbeatable seafront view so we could relax and enjoy our stay in Mljet. The apartment is located super close to a supermarket and many restaurants, but be aware of some steep steps to get there ;). We enjoyed staying in Polace, which is less busy and touristy than Pomena. The lakes are at about 30 minutes walking from Polace and when you buy the entrance to the National park you can also take for free a shuttle bus that takes you there.

    María2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Breathtaking view over the bay from the livingroom and the small balcony, some superb retaurants in the immediate neighbourhood, free parking just in front of the house. Pave and Antonio are very warm-hearted and laid-back hosts, always up for a chat and very resourceful. Staying with them was a wonderful experience.

  • The perfect apartment for a relaxed stay on this gorgeous island. Right in front of the ferry stop, balcony with probably the best view in Polače, and the food downstairs was great and the service was so friendly and welcoming! You can hire bikes, cars, scooters and boats very close by. There is a little market with a great deli a few doors down.

    Francisca2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful location right in the centre of the small port in fact directly in front of where the ferry stops. We arrived before the check-in time and were treated to coffee whilst our apartment was made ready. The Stella Maris was packed with diners every evening. The apartment has a stunning view over the bay and all that's going on below. The facilities are basic but adequate and everything is spotlessly clean. It also has the luxury of a rear sun patio. Even though this apartment is right in the middle of everything is was remarkably quiet when the patio door was shut.Definitely a beautiful place to stay.

    Ian2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We were expecting the apartment to be basic, which it is, but it is also very clean, cosy, super convenient and cute. With all that in mind, it is brilliant value and I would highly recommend.

  • We had an amazing stay in Pomena and fell in love with Mljet. The studio is ideally located, as close as possible to the lakes, in a very nice environment. It is small but functional and well equipped, the bed is comfortable and the terrace is amazing! Josko is a very friendly and helpful host, we 100% recommend staying at his place!

  • Great host, really nice studio with terrace and comfortable bed. Good shower pressure. There's everything you need, including anti-mosquito plug. Only downside, you can hear the neighbours talking, although it didn't last too late. I really recommend the place and wish I could have stayed longer.

  • Joško is a great host that really helps you out during your stay, providing valuable information regarding everything you need to see during your stay and attending to your every need. Everything is as promised in the studio description and the studio is well equipped even for a longer stay (7+ days). Joško's studio and his other apartments in Pomena have an absolutely fantastic location, just a couple of minutes by foot from the beautiful lakes of the national park. Definitely recommending Joško if you're planning on visiting Mljet.

  • Josko made us feel very welcome! He kept a parking spot open for us on arrival, and showed us the best places to see on the island. We had an absolutely magical time on Mljet, and were very sad to leave! The studio itself was beautiful, clean and tidy, exactly like in the pictures. We also enjoyed our breakfasts on the terrace, which was very private! The flat is just a few minute's walk to the salt lakes, and restaurants nearby are amazing. We followed Josko's suggestions and rented bikes to explore the area a bit further around the salt lakes - snorkelling was amazing, and the water was pristine. It was paradise! Thank you Josko for a stay we won't forget!

  • We loved our stay at Joško's appartement and on Mjlet Island. Joško was very nice and very helpful. The appartement was very clean and well equipped. It does not face the sea but nevertheless has a nice terasse facing some gardens and the forest. We would definitely recommend it to anyone.

  • The place was nice, cosy and beautifully decorated just closed to the small lake. Josko is a very great host.

A recently renovated traditional stone house in a peaceful ethno village of Goveđari in the middle of National park Mljet. Charming and warm. Minutes from the exceptional salt Lakes and from the sea.
Apartment is brand new - 90m2 + terrace 60m2 with a separate entrance like a separate house. It's a traditional summer house in rustic style, hand made furniture, all new equipment, air condition, wi-fi ...etc. Apartment has one big double bedroom, bedroom with two beds and large dining room with big sofa, kitchen, bathroom and a space for washing machine. The apartment is fully equipped with everything for a comfortable stay ... washing machine, kettle, toaster, wi-fi ... In front of is a great terrace with open grill and dining area with beautiful view. Goveđari is a quite old village in the center of National park surrounded by lakes (salt) ideal for bicycle tours/rides (a few kilometers), within 10 minutes walking distance. Those lakes are the best part of Island and it is also a very important that you can have separate place (strand) on the lake only for you any time, which is a rarity wherever. You can also rent bikes or kayaks on the bridge. If you have any question about accommodation or Island of Mljet, feel free to ask.
There is no grocery shop in our village Goveđari, just a charming gallery (sic!), so when you come to Polače or Pomena you can buy everything you need before going to Goveđari. In Goveđari there is nothing but peace and quiet ... Easy walk of 10 minutes through the forest of pines to a Large lake and little village Babine kuće will take you to the restaurant on the coast. It is possible to arrange transportation to the fishing village of Soline (or you can rent bikes) where you can eat what fishermen caught that day. Water in lakes is always few degrees warmer than the sea around the Island, so you can enjoy swimming even in November.
  • We had a fantastic time at Zrinka's house. It was very cozy with everything you need to cook and feel at home. The village of Govedari is very peaceful and picturesque. You are a hop, skip, and a jump from the beautiful lakes yet away from everything. We will return.

    Nicole2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice relaxing home close to the national park. Kristina was very nice and gave us a great suggestion of where to eat for dinner our first night there (Ankora), the mussels were the best we have ever had, we liked them so much we went back again for lunch!

    Kathie2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Zrinka's place, on the hills of Govedari, is a gem. It's situated within ten or fifteen minutes' stroll from the big lake of the National Park, and about twenty or thirty minutes from the towns of Polace and Pomena, where the restaurants, shops and transport facilities are. It's just about perfect as a base for exploring this part of the island by foot or by bike. The apartment is one of two in the house, has a large terrace and barbecue area, 2 big bedrooms, and an open plan dining and kitchen area. The bathroom is perfect, with shower and separate bath. We really didn't want for anything during our 6-night stay here – the apartment is fully equipped and spacious, ideal for two adult guests or a small family. With Zrinka's apartment comes the very helpful services of Kristina, who manages several apartments in Mljet. Kristina helped us with information about the area, she cooked us delicious fresh fish for a very reasonable price, and she transported us to and from the ferry port at Pomena. We'd definitely recommend both Zrinka's place and the island of Mljet.

  • Easily the best placed we stayed on our trip around Croatia. We loved how close this house is to the lake (10 min walk or so), the tranquility of the area and how spacious the house is. We would really love to come back on day. Thank you.

  • It was like staying in my own home - welcoming, well organised and well equiped. Great location with beautiful and serene outlook, within easy reach of the National park. Place was exceptionally clean and Zrinka and her housekeeper Kristina were extremely flexible and helpful. Would love to stay there next year too. We also enjoyed regular visits of 2 local cats + 1 dog :)

  • What an amazing way to get away from it all! A gorgeous apartment with everything you could need. A balcony with beautiful views of the national park and just a short walk to the salt lakes. We visited in the spring and at times it felt like the whole island was ours! Only seeing one other person on a 7 hour walk. Although the weather wasn't hot, we had beautiful warm days and even had a couple of swims in the small clear salt water lake. Zrinka was always available for contact if we needed her and gave us useful information and advice for our trip. Zrinka's house keeper Kristina kindly met us when we arrived from the bus and even provided us with wonderful fresh fish to buy for dinner on the Terrace BBQ one evening. We would highly recommend visiting the monastery on the island and the restaurant there, we had the freshest most delicious food! Zrinka recommend us to bring some food over with us to the island from the supermarket at the ferry. This was very good advice as we visited over the Easter weekend and so the little shop was closed for a couple of days. However, when it is open the shop in Polace has a very good stock of most things you would need. If you need gluten free food (as I do) then the supermarket at the port has a good selection. Such a beautiful holiday full of wonderful walks, swims and adventures! Thank you

    Lydia2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Zrinka and Kristina are excellent hosts - very communicative and really friendly and helpful. They made our stay in this beautiful apartment so much nicer. I recommend using the barbecue on the terrace for dinner! It takes 20 minutes to walk to the lake and then go wherever you want - it's all beautiful for walking and swimming! Definitely recommend this apartment for an amazing holiday.

A beautiful new holiday house in the middle of the National Park of Mljet. Two bedrooms and an attic. The house is suitable for 4+2 persons. Fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a sitting room (big TV with over 100 channels, wireless internet access). A terrace in front of the house to enjoy summer breezes and beautiful views. Suitable for children of any age (fully equipped for babies). You can use BBQ near the house and use wood to cook your meals. Pets not allowed. Smoking is allowed outside the house. Friendly hosts that can help you with all your needs.
  • Beautiful house in a gorgeous tranquil location. Marta was an excellent host full of useful information and passion about the island. There are lots of good places to eat in Pomena and if you want to self cater, the house has everything. But purchase supplies before you come to the island esp if you want any meat/fish. We rented bikes through Marta and explored the lakes which are beautiful. Very relaxing and great for swimming. We would recommend here over the Plitvice Lakes as its far quieter and you can swim. The house is a 5 min cycle from the lakes and a 15 min cycle from Pomena.

    Emily 2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Marta's welcome was really nice and kind. The house is located in a very good position: very near the paths in the natural park and 2 of the small cute villages on the water were you can shop for food if you want to eat in the house. The house is very comfortable and well organized: we were 5 and were all very happy with our stay. We were all amazed by the cleanness of the house. Being in the middle of the park and being Godevari very small we could really appreciate the nature surrounding us while enjoying the end of the day on the small veranda of the house and star gazing. We only had a few problems recognizing the house because the picture on the website shows the front and from the street you only see the back, but Marta promptly found us. So only a few more indications are needed. We definitely recommend it.

  • Marta and her husband Niko could not have been more helpful and accommodating if they tried. We had come from a music festival up the coast and were a little fragile to say the least (me especially!) Marta met us at Dubrovnik harbour for the boat and rang to ask if we'd got our tickets (which was a no from us) so as she was already in the queue she bought our tickets for us. When we arrived in Polace we met her husband Niko and helped us get our groceries and dropped us at the cottage and even gave us some icecream and other sundries as a welcome gift. Marta made sure we were all settled in after showing us round the cottage. It was brand new, fitted with all mod-cons and was exceptionally clean. We knew we'd like to hire some bicycles while we were there and Marta arranged for them to be brought to the cottage so all of we had to do was drop them back at the end of the holiday! There are only two boats which arrive to Mljet and due to my lack of planning we realised that we'd have to get the 06:15 boat from Sobra which was at the other end of the island (a 30 minute drive). Niko offered to pick us up at 05:15 and drive us to the port to catch our boat. Marta and Niko really did go out of their way to look after us and I couldn't recommend their cottage more. Massive thumbs up for this beautiful couple, little pink cottage and peaceful island!!

  • My husband, seven year old son and myself recently stayed at Marta and Nicko's house for one week. The house is in a wonderful position, a short walk or cycle to the national park, a great area for families to cycle and swim. We met both Marta and Nicko, they were very welcoming, the house was fantastic, everything we needed, well stocked with basics too. Very clean and well presented. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

  • Marta´s house + Mljet: THE highlight of our trip through South Dalmatia 2016! We really had an absolute perfect stay in the cosy & lovely house on the amazing island of Mljet. Marta is a great host and rather dedicated to maintaining the natural beauty of this incredible gorgeous piece of earth, being the Director of the National Park same time. She spent an hour with us to provide us with all information and recommendations and even brought us some delicious goat cheese. Together with her family she lives in the next house, so you´re never alone. The house has a lot of space for a party of 4 and an additional loft, the kids liked most. It is rather well equipped, absolutely clean, comfortable and even equipped with a washing machine and a light shower. We really loved sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine in the evening, listing to all the cicadas as well as in the morning for breakfast. All windows are equipped with mosquito nets, so you could leave windows open without problems. Little shops and a small supermarket can be reached within minutes by car in Pomena or Polace, so don´t trust people from the mainland or the peninsula telling you that you have to carry with you all you need before taking the ferry (even if of course the assortment is limited). Mljet is absolute worth staying for some days and not just to see during a one-day-excursion. We rented bikes and had an unforgettable day cycling along the two lakes, where we could just jump into the crystal clear water wherever you want. Also the Ulysses cave is absolute worth the see. Don´t forget bathing togs! This is a really special and unique place we directly felt in love with – hope to return in the near future!

    Peter2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic villa!! Suited our two couples perfectly and there were great cooking facilities. The house is an easy walk to both lakes. Marta is a wonderful lady who will make your stay very enjoyable. Will definitely be looking to come back and stay here again one day!

    Georgia2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our stay at Marta's place. The location is idyllic, the apartment is bright and incredibly spacious and Marta and her family are warm and welcoming.

    Jonah2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Marta is a wonderful host!! Her house is very lovely. Marta has taken care of everything for us, she has driven us from ferry port to her house and back, booked bicycles for us. I love chatting with Marta, as she is very friendly and you got to learn so much about the local's life. One day during our stay, there was thunder storm, Marta quickly came over to the house, closed all windows and kindly remind us what should be aware of during thunder storm. After awhile, she dashed back with a candle, because she was worrying if the lights in the house were out, how caring she is. If you are planning to go to Miljet, must try to book with Marta.

Peaceful place surrounded with nature in the middle of NP Mljet. The room is situated in the oldest village of NP called Goveđari. Only 10 minutes away from the famous Big lake where you can find good places for swimming and fun. :)
  • Govedari on Mljet is a really nice place to sleep when you want to explore the National Park. Its really close by Pomena and Polace. The house of Augustino is really nice. His mum took us in. Then in the night we met Tino and we had a welcoming drink with him. He told us tips about the National Park and where to eat. We really enjoyed Mljet.

    Lonneke2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We did not meet Augustin but he arranged for his Mother to let us in. The room is a short walk from the amazing lakes and a 35min walk from the ferry in Pomena. Room was clean and simple - exactly what we needed! Thanks

    Polly2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The room was very confortable and clean, with a big bed. Augustin and his family was very nice and help us. The house is perfect located to visit the lakes walking or by bike. I recommend to have some vehicle to arrive from Pomena or Polace to the house, and know the exactly point of the house asking them first, we struggled to find it.

Apartments „Mali Bulo“ are located in the heart of national park in small fishing village Pomena, surrounded with pine forest, just a few minutes walk from the lakes.
  • Super cosy apartment, which was exceptionally clean and well equipped for such a small space! Everything we needed to cook a couple of meals which we ate sat on the terrace overlooking the sea. Couldn't have picked a better location either- about 5 metres from a supermarket, right in the centre of town and ~500 metres from the most beautiful lakes. Josko was fab, efficient, helpful and very friendly. Only complaint was the noise from some crazy people having a party in town but we did pick peak tourist season to stay (apart from that it was very tranquil)!

    Lydia2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Josko was incredibly kind and informative about Pomena and Mljet. He picked us up from the ferry port in the next village and also let us sit on the balcony of the bigger apartment so we could watch a thunderstorm roll in without getting rained on! Josko rents out bikes for the day (better rate than from the other vendors in the village) and gave us tips and gave highlights on the map for hiking/biking around the lakes. We stayed in the smaller/studio apartment, which was very small but very clean and the outdoor patio means there is plenty of space to sit overlooking the harbor. Josko was a very thoughtful host and I would definitely come back to stay in Pomena at one of his apartments!

    Cassie2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is located in Pomena, within Mljet's beautiful national park, where one can do a wide range of activities, e.g. swimming, diving, snorkling, hiking and biking. The studio's terrace with it's view is a big plus. The studio itself is cozy; although it is not that big it is well equipped. Joško was a great and friendly host: he answered all questions very quickly and was really helpful, e.g. it was possible to store our luggage after the official check-out time as our ferry left later in the afternoon. Would recommend!

    Angela2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Pomena was the best one during our Croatian trip. Josko was incredibly nice and helpful, he let us stay in the bigger flat, and gave us all the info we needed. We also enjoyed chatting with him about Mljet and general life :-) the flat was great, incredibly clean and fully equipped. The view is fantastic, Mljet is a great place to relax. We will be back!

    Annapaola2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice and clean apartment just beside the lakes :) Joško was very helpful during the whole stay! We really enjoyed the stay in Mljet and fell in love with the island - recommended!!

  • Nice and clean apartment. Great location close to the lakes. Josko was very nice and helpfull. We will surely to back.

    Lenka2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in Pomena with the ferry and the flat was really easy to find, just 3min walk away. Josko was there to welcome us and give us some good recommendations as to where to go during our stay. We rented his bikes to go around the lakes and that was perfect - great rate compared to other rental places in town and bikes in a perfect condition. Although being cosy, the studio was well-furnished, nicely decorated and clean. We also enjoyed the terrace with a view on the harbour. All in all, we had a wonderful time at Josko's place and would recommend it to anyone. Mljet is certainly a go-to island during your trip to Croatia, it was the highlight of our holiday!

  • My partner and I had a fantastic stay here. The apartment was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The scenery in the National Park where the apartment is situated is spectacular with lakes and many hiking and bike trails to choose from. The little village of Pomena is also very beautiful. We went during the low season which we didn't regret as the island was very peaceful and quiet. Josip was very helpful throughout our stay and he has great local knowledge of the area. He even managed to arrange a pickup from the ferry port on the other side of the island so that we could get to Pomena easily. I would definitely recommend this place as the perfect relaxation holiday.

  • A little tricky finding who to talk to but once we got there the people were friendly and helpful in getting us settled in. Amazing location right in the heart of the town with a good balcony view, perfect for getting to and from the park. Facilities were clean, modern and the general feel of the place was very professional. Only problem was the WiFi that initially worked inexplicably stopped working.

  • My husband and I loved our stay at the Slavica apartments so much that we're already brainstorming about our return trip! We had the pleasure of meeting Josip's parents Slavica and Antone when we arrived; in honor of our honeymoon, they treated us to snacks, homemade rakija, and an hour of great conversation (not to mention two bottles of homemade wine). We had an equally pleasant conversation at the end of our trip with Josip, who was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The space itself was perfect -- a good size for a more extended stay with all new and clean amenities. (We were only there 48 hours, but could have comfortably stayed a week.) It was easy to get places within the national park, and the view can't be beat. Bonus: the family has opened a smoothie bar on the ground floor that has delicious breakfast items. We highly recommend staying here!

The shared bathroom was also clean. The location is very good, there are restaurants nearby and a store. Entrance tickets for the National park can be bought at a booth nearby. Also, a fast boat going to and from Dubrovnik leaves from Polače everyday and it is a minute away from the room. Pave and her husband are very outgoing and helpful. They welcomed us with Turkish coffee and cookies and told us a lot about living on Mljet. Real nice room in an amazing park. Would recommend to everyone :)

If you want to escape from the crowded and noisy cities this is a real place for you . Pomena is a sheltered bay which is located on the west side of island Mljet in the heart of National Park. Just a 15 minutes by walk there are two salt water lakes and the small island situated in the middle of the Large Lake with a Benedictine monastery originating from 12th. Century. In addition to rich flora and fauna, in the National Park you can engage in various activities such as nordic walking, jogging, cycling, kayaking, diving or you can just relax and enjoy in nature.
In the neighborhood you can find restaurants which offer various delicacies from Mediterranean cuisine.
  • We had to find our way to the flat which was described to us in a text. Pomena is so small and it was easy to simply walk the 5 minutes around the bay from the ferry. The apartment is small, clean and simple, with a wonderful balcony over the sea offering the most outstanding sunsets we have seen! The yachts moored below and the restaurants lining the bay offer a wonderful view and atmosphere.

  • Petar wasn't present in mljet as he lives in Zagreb. But he was always available to answer any questions we had via email, and always responded in adequate time. Petars father was very friendly, and helped show us to our accomadation, he didn't speak much English but he was very pleasant. The island of mljet is stunning. And the people were also very friendly.

  • This was possibly the most serene lovely spot we've stayed. The sunset view from the balcony is pristine magnificence. The place is simple and cozy with everything we could want including one of the best restaurants in town (our opinion and Trip Advisor) right next door. While we never actually met Petar his father was a charming welcome, and even though he did not speak English he always had someone nearby ready to translate. The only complaint I would have is that we got attacked by mosquitos in the middle of the night and there were no screens nor a mosquito net on our bed and the weather was warm enough that closing them won't have been comfortable either. I'm sure this will not be everyone's experience but it's worth noting. Over all a great experience.

  • Nice and clean apartment - basic but with everything you need. The balcony has the most incredible views. Petar was very quick to respond to all my queries and his father (who lives below the apartment) was very kind and stored our luggage for us the day we checked out. Many thanks for a great stay.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here, the flat was a perfect base from which to explore the National Park. We particularly enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and watching the yachts dock after long days hiking!

    Anna Louise2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Petar's apartment for a week this September. The location is fantastic, right by the harbour within minutes of the shops and restaurants. The national park and lakes are 10-15mins walk and absolutely stunning. The apartment itself is basic but great value for the price. watching the sunset from the balcony was a great way to spend an hour in the evening. Petar's father met us and showed us around the apartment, and communication from Petar was friendly and helpful.

    Jonny2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this apartment is convenient and the views are stunning. Unfortunately, the standard of cleanliness of the flat was considerably lower than other airbnbs we have stayed in. We informed Petar but he was not in the area and the housekeeper did not speak any English so trying to resolve the issues was challenging. Although Petar was very apologetic on the phone and said the housekeeper would re-clean, this did not happen and we ended up cleaning the apartment ourselves. Petar did tell us he planned to get a new housekeeper to resolve these issues going forward.

    Izzy2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was great and the balcony was amazing. Photos don't do it justice, was the best location. This truly is a stunning place.

A recently renovated traditional stone house in a peaceful ethnic village Goveđari in the middle of the National park Mljet. Charming and warm. Minutes from the exceptional salt Lakes and from the sea.
Apartment is brand new - 60m2 + terrace 30m2 with a separate entrance, like a separate house. It's a traditional summer house in rustic style, hand-made furniture, all new equipment, air condition, wi-fi ...etc. Apartment has one big double bedroom and a large living room with a big sofa that turns into a bed for two persons, kitchen, bathroom and a space for washing machine. Goveđari is a quite old village in the center of the National park surrounded by lakes (salt) ideal for bicycle tours/rides (a few kilometers), within 10 minutes walking distance. Those lakes are the best part of the Island and it is also very important that you can have separate place (strand) on the lake only for you any time, which is a rarity wherever.
  • We really enjoyed the stay at Zrinka's. Kristina was really helpful and always responded to messages. She also collected us from Pomena and arranged a taxi for our return. The apartment is really well equipped, with amazing views and a comfy bed. Just like the pictures. The park is a short walk away and we used the bikes one day to ride around. As other reviewers have said, make sure you get groceries on arrival in he Studenac in Pomena. It's not impossible to come back and get more, we did it on the bikes, but easier to get heavy stuff when you have a taxi to take them. Lovely stay. Would love to come back. Vicky

  • We had a wonderful stay at Zrinka's traditional summer house. Zrinka was a very welcoming host, picking us up at the ferry, taking us to the shop to buy supplies, and providing a map and advice of where to go and what to see. The apartment itself if beautiful, comfortable, and very well set up. The furnishings are high quality and Miljet was such a wonderful and relaxing place. The apartment has a lovely courtyard and it's in a quiet village a short walk from the lakes. There's no shop in the village but Zrinka kindly offered to pick bread up for us and we also walked over to Pomena a few times where there are a few shops and lots of restaurants. I would definitely go back!

  • Thank you everything was great. We travelled with small children, so I'm happy that we rented a car.

    Maria2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Flawlessly decorated and maintained with very new finishes on everything! We wish we could have stayed longer at this quiet country house. Zrinka is one of the nicest hosts you will find with lots of helpful information, and the house is a short walk down a path to the lakes.

    Anna2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Zrinka´s house and would gladly recommend it to anyone! The house is situated in a small, quiet and lovely village not far from the lakes. The view from the living room is beautiful! Zrinka´s housekeeper Kristina picked us up at the harbor and made dinner for us for the two days we stayed in the island plus homemade bread (for 400 Kuna). There are two bikes by the house that can be rented for 10 Euros each to per day.

    Anne Kristin2015-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our favourite stay in Croatia and all thanks to Zrinka! We had little time to enjoy Mljet but Zrinka arranged everything so we could make the most of it ! The apartment is perfect , brand new you have everything you need plus an amazing view on the pines and a great terrace :) Zrinka arranged pick up and drop off at the port and even left us bikes at the apartment too so we could directly go explore the national park which is literally 2 min away from the apart (and gorgeous). At night Zrinka advised us to go to to a restaurant in Soline which we loved so much , you eat fresh fish along the water and the owners are lovely !! If you want to discover Mljet this is definitely the best place to stay !

    Jonas2015-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Mljet is really beautiful and is worth the stop in your trip! The house is strategically situated at 10 minutes walk to the lakes. The flat is newly furnished and has a terrace. And Zrinka is really nice and helpful (if you don't have a car, she can pick you up at the ferry). We really had a great stay !

  • Gina is very welcoming and helpful ! Clean studio with big sunny terrace. Amazing location in the middle of the Natural Park where we enjoyed swimming and cycling. This is a little paradise !

  • Nice appartment and very nice and cute place in the national park !

  • Gina was an amazing and professional hostess! She was very helpful and helped us rent bicycles and arrange transportation to the port. We had some lovely chats and Gina shared good tips on where to go and how. The small secluded fisherman settlement of Soline is wonderful and scenic. The appartment was simple and nice and had everything we needed, including a small balcony with views of the canal. A perfect place to stay on Mljet.

    Linea Birch2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location on mljet if you like forrest, lakes and crystal clear water.  The appartment is situated in a small fisherman village with 3 small locals restaurants where you can eat good seafood. It's away from all tourists. The appartment is clean and simple, really nice with a fan. the only lack was a good knife in the kitchen.

    Tashi Dorje2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Soline. We enjoyed the swimming, biking and lovely atmosphere. Soline is a very peaceful and friendly village. The description of the studio and the village were accurate (only the tv was broken during our stay, and the mobile telephone network is very weak at the village). Gina's sister Ivana was a friendly host, we got all the information and help we needed.

    Katariina2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Soline is a wonderful place quiet and charming. The perfect place to discover the park!! Gina and her sister were very helpful and welcoming. They made our stay much easier. We recommend this apartment!

    Lamya2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is some 6Km away from the port of Pomena and a similar distance to Polace. The scenery is purely amazing and wherever you look it's just all possible shades of blue and green. The apartment is very nice, with a fully equipped kitchen, a balcony and a shower and a compost toilet. We couldn't use the wifi, though, and had to go down to the restaurant in the main street to go online. Gina was difficult to reach via email, but on the Soline 6 website we found a telephone number and Ivana, Gina's sister, had everything under control and gave us a very warm welcome. Visitors be advised that Soline is in the middle of a natural park and therefore each visitor has to pay a one-off fee of 70 kuna. Mljet was the highlight of our trip across Croatia, and I would definitely recommend Soline to anyone looking to be amazed by the core of the national park.

    Jordi2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gina is an amazing host. Her positive attitude and spirit are really infectous. But in a good way. No matter if you need a bicycle, advices for beautiful "must see" spots on Mljet or just fishing tips. She can help you with all of that and is the perfect person to ask to. The apartment was just perfect. Directly located in the national park far away from mass tourism and the perfect if you need to calm down, relax and/or just want to explore the beautiful park. At night you even are able to see the milky way. Nothing negative has to be said. Maybe just one thing: If you don't like wasps that much (as we do) you better be prepared with lavender around you before you arrive as there aren't any supermarkets around in the next 6 kilometres. We can highly recommend this host and will be definitely coming back.

  • Beautiful apartment in a divine location. Very friendly, welcoming host and extremely helpful. Our favourite part was listening to the nightingale from the apartment.

    Jo2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is beautiful, decorated with flair and set on the hillside with the national park of Mljet spread out below. It's around a 10 minute walk to the famous lakes and 25 minutes to the villages of Pomena and Polace (of course much quicker if you hire bikes). The national park is stunning and exceptionally tranquil - our appreciation of it was also enhanced by the excellent documentary Tamara and Zoran showed us on the night we arrived which emphasised the marine biodiversity of the island. Tamara and Zoran were wonderful hosts - friendly, kind, and quick with advice. After we checked out, they even let us take refuge in the art gallery downstairs for the day to stay out of some unseasonable thunderstorms! If you like tranquility and nature, then this studio is highly recommended.

    Kate2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tamara's apartment gave us a great time on Mljet. In the center of the National Park, Pomena and Polace and both lakes can be reached by a 20 minute walk. The lakes are great to swim, the rest of the island can be visited by car. Nature on the island, the combination of green woods en blue clear water made us very happy during our stay.

    Inge2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Tamara was such a wonderful host, and gave us lots of tips on where to go and what to do, even when we moved to another part of the island towards the end of our trip. The apartment is charming, cleaning, in the best location for visiting the national park and the lakes are a very nice 10 min walk away. The view from the windows is breath taking, full of lush pine trees and long sunsets over the valley. Would highly recommend. Thank you for having us!

    Sophie2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful flat! Our host picked us up from the ferry as promised, and took us to the village -- it's even more beautiful, peaceful and quiet than you can imagine, and Tamara and Zoran are kind, generous and funny hosts. The flat is exactly as described, and even cuter than the pics suggest. The location is perfect for visiting all of the national park, and finding secret spots to swim. We were very satisfied.

    Kashmiri2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Pure transcendence!! Tamara and Zoran have created a truly special place for anyone who thirsts for a a lovingly-restored and hand-crafted home surrounded by just a handful of local families, swishing pine trees, bird songs, olive groves, pomegranate trees, terraced gardens and friendly village pets. You'd think that would be enough; but they seal the gift with hand-made soaps, local jams, mountain bikes delivered to your doorstep, a private showing of a documentary film of Mljet, and friendly rides to and from the the port in Pomena. We are already planning our next trip to Mljet next year! Thank you both for an unforgettable time!

    Shu-Mei2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle and a retreat in nature, but in style- this is your place. I cannot say enough things about this place- the kitchen is gorgeous, the views absolutely enchanting, the hosts super gracious- a magical place quit honestly! We ventured and bikes through the island during the day, and came back in the early evening to cook and relax. Also, pick up is great! Tamara allows time to pick up provisions and also provides great advice on what to do in Mljet. Also, check out the gallery! Fantastic!

    Amanda2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we stepped foot on the island from the ferry we were made to feel welcome and were taken to the local supermarket to get what we needed before starting out week long stay on Mljet. Upon arrival at the apartment is was exactly as described and pictured, the hosts provided us with all the information we needed (and more besides!) and constantly felt like nothing was too much trouble. Felt like we'd been welcomed by family which was so refreshing when on holiday. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Mljet as the location is idyllic and great for access to the National Park. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay Tamara and family; we will be back!

    National Park Mljet
  • Ankica's appartment is just a lovely place where to stay on Mljet. Firt of all it is located in vilage Polače which is in the national park, so for those who intend to explore the park by bike it is a perfect point of departure. It is a little fishmen vilage where there are no hotels (comparing to Pomena which we personaly did not like that much). There are plenty of restaurants and a grocery shop. It is true that the place is not that quite, because many boats are comming each evening to the gulf and the promenade just next to the flat gets busy, but it was not disturbing. Concerning the appartment, it is equiped in an old style, but it has a special atmosphere and it is clean. Unfortunately, I had to substract stars for Ankica's communication. She uses automatic booking, but does not reply to any messages at all! I tried to contact her several time, but never got an answer, so we were little bit worry when goong to the island, because we were not sure if somebody was waiting for us. But when we arrived she was waiting for us and was very very nice, she provided us all necessary information and was willing to help us any time we needed.

    Barbora2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • A clean apartment, well located, typical, close to comodities and a nice host and attentive. All perfect!

    Alexia2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ankica’s apartment is a convenient place to stay if you want to visit Mljet National Park. 5 min taxi drive from ferry port in Pomena and just walking distance from Polace arrival point. From here Place it is easy to get to the National Park. Many restaurants, supermarket, bike rentals, etc. in walking distance. Apartment is rather basic, but with everything working from A/C, wifi, in the kitchen, etc, and also was very clean and we did not feel any noise at night even though it is located on the main street. Communication prior to arrival may be limited, but at the end we found out nothing to worry about as everything went smoothly from check in to check out and also everything was ready when we arrived, which was a bit earlier than the defined check in time.

    Juan2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ankica is a very nice woman and her location is great, however, we had to check out early because the mildew smell in her apartment was giving us both allergy symptoms.

    Nicole2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for access to national park with great local restaurants. Ankita is lovely. Idyllic town.

    Dale2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient place right on the water by the ferry drop off in Polače. Minimal but usable kitchen and a nice small patio out front.

    Adam2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, quite spacious and served the purpose of our trip well: the island and National Park are the main attractions here! The home is right on the main drag along the waterfront in Polace, super close to the market and many nice restaurants, 100 yards from bike rentals, about twice that from the car and scooter rentals. During our stay, chartered sail boats docked across the street from us for the nights, and good conversation with other travelers was easy to come by. An ideal location with a great porch for having a nice sit in the morning and afternoon. Some reviews said the place was dated and thus not good for the price, I disagree entirely. Sure, it's sparsely furnished but it had absolutely everything we needed and then some! It was the largest apartment we rented while in Croatia, and it was great to just spread out and unwind (read: not trip all over our unpacked backpacks). Honestly, we spent most of our time out and about exploring the rest of the island. The beds were firm and comfortable, fresh linens, everything was clean and in good condition, kitchen stocked with enough utensils to whip up a meal if so desired. Not a single complaint about the place, and a perfect spot to have spent my birthday. Ankica lives upstairs and she's absolutely wonderful! She welcomed us in and you could tell she took pride in the apartment. We only saw her a couple times during the stay, out on the street and down by the market but she was friendly and professional. I believe her brother owns one of the restaurants we ate at as well, and the food was great! A true local! Thank you Ankica!

  • This is simply the best airbnb i've been in ! Ankica was very friendly and it was a pleasure to stay in her apartment. The location is just perfect : near the harbor, you can see the sea through the terrace. There is all the accommodation you need nearby. And... Mljet is a little paradise for people who doesn't like crowded place. I recommend this place !

Ana and her husband are awesome people that you can spend some fun times ; they take care about you to feel good ; and they also give you good advises on what we can do in Mljet and his national park. I definitely will come back to Ana's place if I return to Mjlet :)

  • Amazing place, would definetely recommend it. We had a wonderful stay at Ana's and Mato's place. They were very welcoming. We were always welcome to join them at the big table on the spacious terrace for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The terrace had a great view over the bay. Even though Ana and Mato are both busy at work, they always find the time to check in with their guests and see if they need anything. Ana also helped us with our further travel plans. Ana and Mato both work in the national park, so they have a lot of nice suggestions. The room was very clean and comfortable. Ana and Mato made our stay on the beautiful island even better with their kindness and relaxed vibe.

Sweet little house situated in the heart of the National park Mljet. Price is per bedroom 1 bedroom - 2 persons 30 e, but in July and August are changed to 30-40 e. Enjoy
House is in National park, and view is fantastic :). House is isolated in the field (so you can have your privacy) but very close to the lakes.
House is near the lakes and the sea.
  • Very pleasant host and journey we hardly recommend for people who love nature.

  • Mico is an excellent host. He picked us up and dropped us off. He made sure we had everything that we needed. Private room with two beds. Cabin style camping in the woods on a lake. Everything is very close on the island to walk or cycle to. Miko is very friendly and very easy to talk to. Lots of experiences and stories to share.

    Neil2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Mico's, it was what we needed after lots of hotels. It is as advertised, basic but comfortable and in an amazing location with fantastic hosts. If you're looking for an authentic experience and you don't need all your creature comforts you will have a great time. Located right in the national park where there are limited buildings and places to stay it was a real treat for us. We wish we could have stayed longer!

    Rollo2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time with Mico! He picked us up from the ferry and took us to town in the evenings. Thank you so much!!

  • Overall a mixed experience! As shown in the pictures the accommodation is very basic - more like indoor camping! This was fine, but the room was very dirty and generally not well maintained. However the location was perfect for the lakes and Mico picked us up from the port which was really nice.

    Lily2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Michael, Miko's dad was great to stay with. He picked us up from the ferry and shared his dinner with us. He was super helpful regarding places to go and getting around the island. There are some great places accessible from his cottage if you like walking. The viewpoint (can't remember the name) bit of a walk but you can see the whole island island. The village of Polace and the salt lakes. The place is basic and do remember the bug spray but a great point from which to explore Mljet.

    Philip2015-10-10T00:00:00Z

If you want to escape from the crowded and noisy cities this is a real place for you . Pomena is a sheltered bay which is located on the west side of island Mljet in the heart of National Park. Just a 15 minutes by walk there are two salt water lakes and the small island situated in the middle of the Large Lake with a Benedictine monastery originating from 12th. Century.
In the neighborhood there are few nice restaurants which offer various delicacies from Mediterranean cuisine
  • Great location - very close to the ferry and also the National Park, restaurants and supermarket. The terrace overlooking the water was beautiful. Petar was very helpful and his father kept our suitcases safe following check-out. There is no sofa in the living area and larger towels would be better. Still highly recommend - Mljet is a beautiful place to visit :)

  • Petar place is well located in the port of Pomena, in the national park. The apartment is very convenient, but what is the best of this place is the terrace, with an incredible view on the port, perfect to watch the sunset.

    Carole2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was convenient for visiting the National Park and the views were stunning. We were met from our boat and led to the apartment by the owner. He doesn't speak that much English but this wasn't a problem. The apartment itself was basic but was perfect for us. We enjoyed shady lazy breakfasts on the terrace, and beautiful sunsets in the evening. There are lots of restaurants within minutes and 2 food shops not that far away. The local hotel was very helpful in ordering us a taxi and providing any info we needed.

  • High points: terrific location with view over whole Pomona bay. We loved the deck. 2 complete separate bedrooms/baths (we used just one). located at end of waterfront so practically no car traffic. Apartment was just as advertised and pictured. The beds were comfortable and the water hot (if you remember to turn it on). We had no complaints about cleanliness. Caveats: It is extremely basic, no couch, easy chairs, etc. Not even salt and pepper in the kitchen. If you plan on cooking, bring every thing. Cooking equipment is OK. Good value for the money; we would definitely stay here again.

  • My wife and I stayed in Pomena for 4 nights in the end of July. The flat is in a really good location next to several good seafood restaurants and only 10-15 min walk to the small lake in the national park. The standard of the flat were to low for our liking but from what I understand it's typical for this area. It has a big terrace with a lovely view.

    Erik2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very great and helpful. Organized a smooth late arrival. Wonderful location over looking the lovely port town of MLjet.

    Wade2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, five mins from national park entrance. Wonderful harbour views and near supermarket. Beautiful balcony connecting to both rooms. Accommodation spacious but would recommend a few updates, if possible. Owner was very helpful and reliable when we needed help getting to and from apartment. Thank you for a lovely stay! :-)

    Deborah 2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is absolutely scenic and Petar was the perfect host. We had problems with our car and had problems communicating with the garage. Petar took over the communication and had everything settled

Apartment is located in the heart of the National Park, in old village Goveđari only 5 minutes walking to the Great Lake and 10 to the Small Lake. Apartment of 36 m2 consists of one bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining area with sofa bed for one. Apartment is air conditioned and has free WiFi and TV.
  • Govedari is a small village but Diana's place is located in quite distance from any road or path, in a very isolated area at the back of an old oil trees garden with lots of old, unuse stuff and garbage in it. The room is situated at the top corner of an old house with missing windows at the bottom floors. It looks very deppresing. When was dark there was no light to get to this place from the road - we had to use our phonetorches. All of that freaked us out. We felt very unsecure. We didn't stay a single night even though we had a reservation for one week. It definitely shouldn't be described as suitable for family with children. Not woth it's prize.

    Łukasz2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Diana is the perfect host and does go out of her way to make you feel comfortable and at home. She drove us to and from the apartment, gave us all the useful tips on the island and even gave us a goodbye present. Me and my nieces could not have stayed at a more welcoming host than Diana's and we feel like we have made a lifelong friend. We would definitely recommend Diana as a host and we wish to come and stay here again. From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU!

    Saga2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Diana's place was wonderful and a very nice place to vacation. It was secluded, but what we learned is all places are secluded on Mljet. This had everything one could need and Diana was a wonderful host. She met with us when we arrived late at night and still took the time to explain everything about the apartment and what to do on the island. I would absolutely stay at her apartment again.

    kirk2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • I was pleasantly surprised how amazing Diana has been to us. She picked us up from the ferry in the evening, took me to the shop next day to get some food (as there are no shops in Govedari) and took us to the ferry port on our leaving day. She was always quick to reply to any questions I had and explained everything thoroughly. There was an occasion where we had no milk and oil and she send her dad who lives locally to bring it, he is super nice as well. On the whole really good experience. Would come again for sure. So if you want an amazing host with a clean and comfortable apartment, don't mind not having a shop close by but not be far away from the lakes look no further, go to Govedari and most importantly stay with Diana. Hvala Diana!!!!

  • My wife and I had a wonderful time in Mljet, staying 8 days in Diana's apartment in Govedjari. The apartment is a 5-10 minute walk away from the Big Lake, down the hill, and the nearest restaurant is right there on the lake. It's a 30 minute walk (or 5 minute car ride) to Pomena and a similar distance to Polace, where there are grocery stores, other restaurants etc. It might sound more convenient to stay closer to amenities, but we really enjoyed the quiet mornings and evenings in Govedjari, and its central spot in the national park meant we could walk to anywhere in that part of the island easily. (We rented a car for the final 3 days to explore the rest of Mljet -- highly recommended.) The apartment is nice and simple, and to my mind much easier to relax in than some of the fancier options that were available in Pomena and Polace. It had everything we needed for a longer stay, and it was easy to prepare meals in the kitchen. Last but definitely not least, Diana was a wonderful host and a treasure trove of knowledge about Mljet. She picked us up from the ferry port in Pomena and even came to the other port in Sobra to have coffee with us when we were leaving -- it was an absolute pleasure to meet her.

Catherine

  • Excellent ! Ana and her family were very nice and friendly... I recommand a lot!

  • This place is in a perfect location in Polace (although the listing says Govedari we felt this was a much better location!) You are on  the water, and 100m from the supermarket, national park ticket office, and a nice restaurant called Antica.  This is the authentic experience of staying with a Croatian family.  You have your own room and share the bathroom, kitchen and large terrace with another Airbnb room, and Ana her husband Mato and their 5yo Daughter. They are very welcoming, warm and funny. They work for the national park and can help with all your questions!  They're absolutely lovely people and great company, we spent evenings chatting on the terrace. They offered us Turkish coffee every morning, fruit on arrival and even grilled fish one night!

    Laura & Charlie2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • An easygoing and kind 3gen family who welcome you into their home. The room is clean and opens to an outdoor area with views of the boats and bay. A very relaxing experience after the crowds of DBV. Reliable internet too.

    Ross2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful experience staying with Ana and her family. The bed was very comfortable. Anything I needed or asked for was immediately provided. Her house is centrally located in the little village of Polace. Both she and her husband are park rangers, very knowledgable about the area, super friendly, but respect your privacy.

    carol2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ana wasn't there when we arrived, so we weren't sure if we were at the right place... When she came home she apologised and was really kind to us (it turned out to be a misunderstanding with her husband). The room is small and not extremely clean; there are personal belongings in all the closets and there are pictures on the walls, so it kind of feels like you're sleeping over in someone else's bedroom. Both Ana and her husband are really friendly, made coffee for us in the morning and had all kinds of tips for us.

    Rosa2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ana's place is very well located right by the sea and in the middle of the national park. Your appreciation of Ana's house will differ depending on what you expect from it. It's fine for a place to stay but not for a romantic weekend as the place isn't very private.

    Anne2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved the accommodation. We were treated like family rather than paying guests, I would definitely recommend staying here and would definitely visit again. The listing says that the property is in Govedari, it is actually in Polače, which in hindsight was a lot better than where we thought we would be staying. This location meant the National Park was much more accessible. Also, there were lots of great restaurants, a bakery and a beach so really great location. The room was a great size and the balcony had an incredible view. Definitely the best, most hospitable and welcoming place we have stayed in the whole of Croatia.

    Tom2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The appartment is very well located in the center of polace , next to restaurants and right above a bakery. Ana and her family were welcoming and friendly. However, there are 2 rooms for rental. Those rooms are not the same, one is Nice, but We had the Other one. There are many pictures of the family and virgin marie on every walls. The closets and drawers were full of personnal belongings as We couldn't stow our stuff. We shared the bathroom between 8 persons which could have been ok without the room. We just stayed 1 night Instead of 3 but Ana was helpful to cancel the nights.

  • I had booked Goran's place as a gift for my mom and our cousin for their birthdays. They came back yesterday thrilled and happy. They absolutely loved their stay! They said the atmosphere was super laid-back, chilled and that they felt like they were home. They loved the beauty of the nature, beaches and walks and they loved staying in Goran's place. They said that they laughed and had fun with the owner(s), socialised with all the staff and just had a great experience alltogether. Our cousin even cried before leaving! They will definitely be back and would recommend this place for everyone.

Small apartment above tavern in the heart of national park Mljet is perfect place for your holidays. Located just 5 min walking from the harbor and 2 min from the sea, quiet and preserved nature allows you to truly get rest and enjoy your holidays!
Quite and lovely neighborhood in small touristic place in the heart of National Park Mljet!
  • Frano arranged everything from the UK - he was extremely efficient, and went out his way to help us with additional questions about travelling around the island. The hosts on the island were welcoming, although do not speak much English but this was not a problem and all of our needs were met. Flat is basic but clean and in a very central location in one of the more developed parts of the island - walking distance to everywhere, with a frequent bus which took 5 mins to get to the lakes. The only downsides were quite smelly drains in the bathroom (I am not sure the host can do much about this) and the wifi access which is only available by going down to the restaurant below that the family own.

    Hendrik2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Polace is a lovely place to visit and the apartment is ideally situated. It's directly by the water and has lovely views from the balcony. It's near to a mini-market, a bakery, several bike hire companies, a scooter and car hiring company, a tourist information point, a kiosk where you can buy tickets to enter the national park, and several restaurants. We spent several days snorkelling around Polace, we hired a kayak and went around the islands, cycled to the national park and hiked on the well signposted hiking trails. The photos don't do the apartment justice. It's surprisingly spacious, and we found it very comfortable. We stayed for 6 nights and cooked every meal at the apartment. The big fridge is a bonus - very useful in the hot weather! The apartment is 2 or 3 floors above the restaurant and we didn't find the restaurant noisy at all. We also didn't experience any noise issues from the ferries or boats. As mentioned by a previous guest, the wifi was very weak in the apartment, but we didn’t really need it. When we arrived there was a smell coming from the drains, but this went away completely once water from the shower refilled the u-bend – so this wasn’t an ongoing problem. Srecko (the owner) was very friendly and accommodating, and if we had any issues, he was very quick to help. Frano was brilliant too - and very quick on communications. We also got a lift from Srecko from Pomena to Polace, which was very appreciated :) We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to go back in the future!

    Hawys2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Firstly, Frano's communication was beyond excellent. Always able to advise and assist and even sorted our transfers to and from ferry port which was a nice touch. The area is perfect to access the national park hire bikes, kayaks and car hire to explore island. We probably stayed a day or two longer than we needed just as the strip of restaurants is quite limited (although lovely) you could do with I'd say 3 days here. One or two days exploring the lakes or one or two days the island so not to feel rushed. The accommodation was great. Minimalist but huge space good kitchen and a large balcony with amazing view. Wifi was a bit of a struggle but we got stuck into our books.

    Serra2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Frano was extremely efficient and promptly answered to our questions. Flat is spacious, clean and well located (there are supermarket, restaurant, car renter, etc.). The terrace is amazing to take your breakfast with an amazing view on the bay!!!

  • Very nice, spacious apartment in Polace, close to the national park. Great view from the balcony. Perfect if you want to stay on Mljet a bit longer. Big kitchen. Bakery, foodshop and beach are very close. Nice hiking trails along coastline where you can swim privately. Good hosts and good communication with Frano. We were picked up at the port by a member of the family. We had an amazing time! Go to Mljet!

    Inge2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Everyone was helpful and kind, they immediately solved if we asked something, the apartment is comfortable, the location is perfect, it is great to wake up every morning to the beautiful seaview. Polace is calm, Mljet is amazing. There is a parking place near to the house.

    Zsófi2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location with view on the bay and right near the sea. Well located for visiting the national park and local beaches and friendly owners. Downsides are wifi which is not really working (intermittent signal and only viable in the bedroom) and not a lot of equipment available for longer stays, although owners were helpful when asked. We were not allowed to use the washing machine ourselves and had to give our laundry to the owners so it did not really work on our timetable. Also note that the AC is in the kitchen and the living room, not in the bedroom. Might expect something a bit better for the price.

  • I did not see Augustin, but his mother was great host.My stay here was good,it was very peaceful and calm, but there is no air condition so it was very hot exspecially in july. Wifi network is too slow but the room is comfortable and very clean and bed was great to sleep. Apartmant is good located to visit the lakes by foot or by bike.

  • tino and his family were a great host and made our trip to mljet an highlight of the whole vacation. they prepared traditional local food, gave recommendations for the island and organised cheap bikes. the house is located in the middle of the national park and the apartment was perfect for a couple trip. thanks. definitely recommend to stay there.

    Philipp2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tino and his neighbour met us from the ferry port to save us a taxi ride which was very kind of them. They then took some time (over glasses of his own grappa) to tell us about the apartment and the island. Tino was not about much after that but his lovely mum was always on hand if we needed anything. The apartment was quite small but had everything we needed. We went to Mljet to do lots of walking and so the apartment was perfectly situated for us. It is about 30 minutes hilly walk to the nearest shops/villages/ferry ports so is not suitable for those who don't like walking or cycling (but then why would you go to Mljet if you don't like walking or cycling). The local taxi service is a waste of time. We tried to order it 4 times and every time it was unavailable. The island is a walkers paradise and it was really easy to find your own coves/rocks/ beaches for very private swimming and sunbathing. Overall both Tinos apartment and Mljet itself are highly recommended.

    Stephen2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, great location on a peaceful island. Friendly and welcoming

    John2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Augustin's apartment is very close to the entrance of the national park and that is a great advantage for people who don't have cars! We rented bikes and spent to wonderful days riding around the two lakes. We had however some trouble to find the house but the taxi from Mljet knew the place. It is located in the nature so the surroundings were amazing. At the house Augustin's mom was waiting for us and she made us feel very comfortable, the room is very clean and had everything we needed. We didn't have the chance to meet Augustin as he was not in town, but her mother was available for us.

We were unsure whether to stay in Pomena or Polace and are very glad we stayed in Polace, there were some lovely restaurants close by, a supermarket next door and a bakery to get a few pastries in the morning. • Mljet is a beautiful island! Ante's place is in Polače (the port town where the ferry drops you from Dubrovnik), so it was very easy to find and convenient. The apartment looks just like the photos! Once my friend and I were settled, Ante rented us good quality mountain bikes so we could explore the national park. There is a hill that you have to bike up to get to the park that takes about 15-30 min (depending on your fitness). It's not too challenging if you take breaks! Ante also suggested we eat in the little town of Soline and the seafood there was exceptional. I only wish I had longer on Mljet!

    Kate2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ante's place is great, exactly as shown in the photos. Location is perfect, with wonderful views. Ante's wife Sandra was brilliant too, helping us hire bikes and making suggestions for things to do.

  • Ante and his wife were very accommodating and helpful. We took the ferry to Pomena, where Ante was waiting for us at his bike shop. He took our bags and transported them over to the apartment for us, which was a huge help! We were also able to rent bikes from his place in Pomena, tour the national park, then drop them off at his other bike shop outside the apartment in Polace. The apartment was tidy and the porch was excellent for breakfast.

    Al2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: Great location -- steps away from the ferry dock in town, between lots of restaurants and a couple of markets. Bike rental to get to the lakes in the park, and car rental to explore the rest of the island, is also outside the door. Really nice deck looking out into the harbor. Ante is really helpful and can help you out with any rentals, directions, etc. Cons: Apartment is not what is pictured in the listing, since there are several other units in this building. Our room had one queen bed and one twin bed, neither of which was great for sleeping. The toilet is literally in the shower stall as well. The internet is terrible -- you have to connect to the network for the market on the ground floor and the signal cuts out all the time.

    Jordan2014-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ante and Sandra were extremely friendly and helpful hosts. The apartment has a great view of the harbour and there are restaurants, a supermarket and a bakery just around the corner.

    Viktor2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was remarkable, with a lovely room and even lovelier hosts. We had breakfast on our balcony each day overlooking the crystal clear water and the charming harbor of Polace. Ante and Sandra were incredibly friendly in helping us navigate the area, including renting us a kayak and bikes for exploration of the gorgeous island, transport to the port in Pomena, and recommendations for places to eat (all of which we took and loved). They were so kind, and made us feel as if we were at home. The apartment was also atop a market, which made it convenient to pick up breakfast, snacks and other necessities. Thank you again Ante and Sandra!

Even we are placed in a center of Polače, we are unique because there is no neighbors around the house.
  • Everything as described plus a very kind and helpful owner and family. I can't say anything but great things.

  • Wonderfully located room in the serene paradise of Polače on Mljet. Ante was very helpful and informative on the best ways to experience the island and it made a huge difference having his help find our way around.

  • Great spot with an excellent view over the bay. It's a very chill spot with plenty of restaurants around. The path to the national park starts behind the apartment! The apartment has all the amenities you need if you want to cook. Ante and his wife were very helpful and also have the bike hire place out front.

  • The host was welcoming. We were 5 of us and we were distributed in 2 different rooms which was not was we expected. The wifi wasn't working for the duration of our stay but there was a storm night prior to our arrival. The host was very friendly and helpful during our stay.

  • Lovely, friendly hosts. Fantastic view overlooking the port and great location for exploring Mljet. Ante was also kind enough to give us a discount on the hire bikes too.

  • Our stay at Ante's place was fine. His mother was nice, she was the one who did check in. But we were a bit disappointed as some amenities which were noted as included - weren't available. Wifi for example (which was very important for us as we had to work) and Air Conditioning in the other room. Also, kitchen is in the open balcony and as it was raining heavily one day during our stay, we weren't able to cook or sit by the table because the rain was falling inside and on the stove. I think these information should be pointed out somewhere on the page or visible from the photos. In conclusion, the place has a great location and a wonderful view but it is way overpriced!

  • Ante let us check in very late and last minute. He was very helpful to give us tips where to go in the national park. The apartment itself was great - the view was amazing! There was a lovely selection of restaurants and places to drink but it was still quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay with Ante again! Thank you :)

  • The apartment is spacious, well situated and clean. Ante and Sandra were very welcoming and flexible and we'd gladly stay here again in the future.
