Pleasantville Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Pleasantville

This is a gorgeous, newly renovated first floor apartment in a 100+ year old colonial house. The apartment is completely self contained and includes a dedicated parking spot and a patio. My wife and I live in the second floor apartment and are just steps away if you need any help or have questions. The train station, grocery stores, restaurants, and coffee shops are all a short walk away, less than 5 minutes. It's perfect for couples and business travelers.
This apartment is very clean, hardwood floors throughout, and has everything you need. The bedroom includes a queen size bed, a TV and brand new furniture from IKEA including dresser, closets, chair and desk. The bathroom includes a combination tub/shower and double vanity. The open concept living/dining/kitchen area includes a full range of appliances, a small dining table, and a large sectional for reclining and relaxing. All utilities have been recently upgraded. The apartment is heated/cooled by two mini-splits and you can adjust the temperature in the bedroom and the open area to your comfort. The bathroom floor is toasty warm on cold days thanks to the in-floor heating, and you never have to worry about running out of hot water as the apartment has a dedicated tankless hot water heater.
The apartment is a block away from downtown Pleasantville, where you will find restaurants, bars, grocery stores, delis, coffee shops and the famous Jacob Burns theatre.
  • Clean. Cozy. a beautiful spot with snacks and drinks. Host was kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

  • This is one of the most immaculate and well-appointed apartments I have the pleasure of living in. While I never expect my host to provide food, Les's well-stocked refrigerator was a pleasant surprise. Plus, Les was always available and seemed to have anything I needed at his fingertips. I hope to be able to stay again when I am in the Southern CT/NY area.

    Karen2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, clean and quiet place with a super comfortable bed to spend a restful night. Includes a full kitchen with upgraded appliances. Couldn't ask for a better place.

    Jacqueline2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Les's place was the perfect location-- super walkable, especially to the Metro North. We only stayed for one night, but we had a great dinner on Les's recommendation. The place itself was brand new and masterfully done-- beautiful kitchen, plenty of space, even games in the cupboard. We would definitely come back and stay.

  • I will be back!

  • We highly recommend Les and his property. Beautifully appointed, clean, lovely yard and within walking distance to train, retail, and restaurants. Les was the consummate host, meeting us upon our late arrival and stocking his kitchen with food available for our use. Wonderful 5-night stay!

I grew up in Pleasantville, I have to say it is one of the best places to live. I am from a family of 7 children so we are still pretty well known in town. This is " Small Town USA" and yes it is "pleasant in Pleasantville" but you need to come find that out for yourself. Strike up a conversation with someone in Black Cow or Starbucks and they will all say the same thing." We looked in a lot of other towns in Westchester and Fairfield when looking to relocate, once we walked around Pleasantville the search was over...
  • If you are allergic to cats and do not want a room in a basement this is not the place for you.

    Gregory2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, location and bedroom. Steven and his daughter were very kind. Highly recommend :)

    Marianne2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed at Steve's place for tonight. Steve made check-in a breeze. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The location is PERFECT for walking into town and grabbing a quick bite to eat. Would recommend this place for someone looking for a quick get away in Pleasantville!

    Brent2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Steven's place is awesome. His set-up in the lower level of his house is perfect for Airbnb -separate from the host residence with nice bathroom and kitchenette area. Bed is comfy and room is quiet. Bathroom and kitchenette are shared with other Airbnb guest. Street parking was always available right in front if the house. Super convenient to Metro North and Saw Mill Parkway. Steven is so friendly and made sure I had what I needed.

    Sarah2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Steven was such an awesome host! The space- Everything was exactly like the pictures and descriptions, the space was very clean and had bountiful amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, an assortment of facial washes and lotions, bottled water in a fridge you can use, coffee with cream and every type of sweetener, an assortment of dishes glasses and silverware for longer travelers, and so much more. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the place especially for the killer price. Also- the bed and pillows were so comfy! Location- I was in town for a job shadow, but also wanted to see New York City. Steven's place was within walking distance to the train station that takes you right to Grand Central for $20 round trip, and was also close enough where I could drive for my business meetings. Not to mention, the town itself has an awesome farmers market, plentiful coffee spots and restaurants, and shopping for those looking for a nice small town feel. Everything was within walking distance. The host- Steven was waiting for us when we arrived late. He was there to greet us, show us to our room, and let us get settled in. He even invited us upstairs afterward to sit with him and his lovely girlfriend and gave us the run down on the best things to do in the city since we were only able to stay one day. I was so grateful for his hospitality. Anytime you are in the area, I would recommend checking this place out. We will definitely be back!!

    Alex2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Steven's basement room is great. Bathroom is shared with other AirBnb guests so make sure to get up early if you need to be somewhere.

    Sarah2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room is nice and clean with a nice adjacent bathroom and a handy coffee set up if you don't want to go searching for a coffee shop. The town is quaint, but beautiful and near a lot of shops and places to eat, plus it is very close to the train that will take you into the city. A good place for the low cost.

    Alana2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • My mother and I really like his place. It's clean, nice, very vintage, and he is very friendly. The place is cosy and Steven is really friendly as well. I really like his cats as well.

  • Ivone's house has all that an AirBnB needs. It's neat, organized, cozy, and near public transportation (Metro North). We stayed there a full month, and definitely felt at home. Plus, Ivone was not only a great host, but a very positive influence to my family, with her healthy way of living her life. After a week we were all eating better, drinking lots of water and planning on doing more exercises - the latter is still just an intention, but we promise we will go for it, Ivone! Thanks for all!

    Priscila2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ivone's home was lovely, clean, and tastefully decorated. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, as was the room I stayed in. Ivone went out of her way to make sure I had food I wanted for breakfast and was very accommodating.

    Amelia2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Some family members stayed here when we needed more sleeping space over a holiday. They especially loved the adorable and sweet pets! Ivone was really accommodating and flexible.

    Julie2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Truly enjoyed our stay with Ivone. She was very hospitable, open, and her place was beautiful. Comfy to stay in, well-decorated, well-appointed. Comforts of the home included: Cozy bedroom, heated floors in the upstairs bathroom (I think, anyway- they felt warm to the touch when everywhere else was cold!), breakfast, on-site parking, backyard space, large TV. If going back that way, we would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a pleasant stay, Ivone!!

    Uduak2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is safe, very clean, and quiet. The host is very kind and will make your stay very comfortable.

    Seong2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was as lovely as it looks in the pictures! Everything was clean and the house has a very relaxing vibe(URL HIDDEN)appreciated that we were able to check in past midnight on the night that we arrived. Ivone had a friend there to great us for she was out of town. She also had a lockbox if her friend was not available, which I thought was a brilliant idea. The house is close enough to NYC that we took a train in and far enough to avoid NYC traffic. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend Ivone to anyone looking to stay in the area.

    Julie2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ivone's home is very clean and comfortable. She was a great host to the guests which during the month ranged from 1 - 7 people. The home had enough room for everyone. She provides extra bathroom comforts that was appreciated. She is very easy to work with.

    Robin2014-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoy staying in Ivone's house pretty much. The house is very clean, and all the appliances in the house runs great. Also Ivone also provided a lot of useful tips for living there. One important thing is that Ivone has a high standard of cleanliness, at least it's a high standard for me. So if you can keep everything you used very much in order, then here is a wonderful place for you to stay.

It isn't very loud, and it hasn't been a big issue for our guests, but we do want to let you know that it's audible just for full disclosure. This Studio is attached to our family home - but completely private with private entrance. And we are a very welcoming family.
We are located just 5-10m walking distance to EVERYTHING! ... Pace University is down the block! There's family coffee shops, bakeries, film center, Starbucks, biking, restaurants, bars, fully side-walked town, entertainment, and of course NYC (45min train). Such a great place for a getaway from NYC or other places! Pleasantville attracts people from all over Westchester and outside areas for several reasons. It is home to the famous Jacob Burns Film Center which shows plenty of independent films. Since we are located near Pace University so if you are visiting the school this house is perfect. You can walk down the block - less than 5 minutes. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and activities. One of the famous restaurants in our area is Blue Hill Stone Barns (a farm to table restaurant about 10 min away.) Checkout NY Times Crossword Puzzle Creator Will Shortz's Table Tennis Center- great for playing Ping Pong...and maybe getting an autograph...walking distance from our home! We have the "Best in Westchester" Farmer's Market in town every Saturday-Even in the winter- The Market moves Indoors. Lots of great local organic produce & beautiful home made goods. There is a grocery store, Key Foods, located a 5 minute walk from the house. And only 10 min away (by car) is Rockwood Park and Rockefeller Park --both are beautiful and located right on the Hudson River. They are great for walking or hiking trails. Also less than 10 minutes is a huge bike path that goes up and down the Hudson. Ask us to borrow a bike! If going to New York City is too far but you'd like to get out, White Plains is a 15 minute train ride and has great night life, food and entertainment as well.
  • I stayed at Jaime's studio for a weekend with my boyfriend, and it was perfect! Jaime is really friendly and communicative, and check-in and check-out was super easy. The room was comfortable with everything we needed (towels, wifi, even a charger to use!) and the place is within walking distance to the train and most restaurants and shops. Highly recommended!

    April2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jaime's Studio is wonderful. Self contained, private entrance and a rustic setting but still close to all the necessities including transportation to NYC. I will shall return.

    Bill2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jaime's place was comfortable and she was always very responsive if we needed anything. Her mom, Allison, is so lovely and was also very welcoming. It was easy to get to and so nice to be in walking distance of this cute little village. The only hang up was noise from the street. PACE University is down the street and school had just started. Some college kids were yelling out on the street off and on for a few hours. Apparently Thursday night is party night at the local bar. Of course, Jaime and family have no control over that, just be prepared to run a fan and the AC. Once we got a fan in there, that helped a (URL HIDDEN) noise! Over all, my parents had a great stay and would recommend Jaime's place for any travelers!

Welcome to the Washington House AIR B&B! You will have your own room on the lower level with keyed doors to every bedroom. The town and train are about a half mile walk to our door. So, hop the train and get off at the Pleasantville stop, get a hot coffee at The Black Cow. Make a right turn out of the coffee shop and at that corner you will see Washington Ave. directly across from the Jacob Burns Center. Walk half a mile up to our B&B... Look for the hydrant out front and you are there!
The Back Bedroom has one twin bed and one full size bed with a desk. You have your own bathroom when renting the entire space but share the bath when only renting either the front or back room. **The front bedroom has a full size bed, that bedroom is available separately with another listing. • The location and room have been as described. Only if second room is rented bathroom needs to be shared. The room is equipped with all you need. Clean towels, shampoo/soap, coffee machine, dishes and fridge made the stay perfect. Steven (and his cats) are perfect hosts. We would recommend to stay there.

    Kimberly2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very convenient, comfortable place to stay near the city. Would stay here again without question. Just a little bummed I never met the cats!

    Julia2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Steven is very responsive to the guest. Airbnb, for some reason, never transmitted the home address, and the "directions" sent me to a wrong location. Steven immediately responded to my (concerned) inquiry. The rooms are very well stocked for drinks and small breakfast. (There is a Keurig!). The bathroom also is fully supplied with toiletries that you may have forgotten. Kitty came down to visit in the morning, so I felt even more like I was at home.

    Barbara2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's "escape for a night" is the perfect getaway, in a great location, easy walking distance to town for dinner, desert, cocktails or just enjoying the scenery. We explored the Saturday morning Farmers Market downtown Pleasantville and picked up some local cheese and fresh bread that we later enjoyed on Steve's back deck while taking in the sun and beautiful spring breeze. Our room was cozy and comfortable and everything you could think of was provided; tea, coffee, fridge and microwave. We enjoyed our two night stay and next time we'll travel on the Metro North train because Steve's place is a short distance from the train station. Highly Recommend!!!!

Great home that's perfect for a couple or family seeking a city and country experience in New York. This 1912 colonial is located in the town of Pleasantville. Walking distance (3 blocks) to the center of Pleasantville town and just a mile from Chappaqua. See the 2016 New York Times article: "Pleasantville, N.Y.: Front Porches and Easy Strolls."
We have indoor and outdoor dining that comfortably seats 8-10 people 7 minute walk to the train station, 40 minutes to Harlem and 50 minutes to Grand Central Station Drive without traffic takes 35 minutes
We leave detailed instructions on house care, emergency contact information and a full list of activities, restaurants and bike trails (including some of the best mountain biking trails in Westchester). Jacob Burns Film center is a three block walk in the center of town. Shows include documentaries, foreign and independent films. JB also has a speaker series and film festivals most weekends. Pleasantville farmers market (every Saturday) is rated one of the best in Westchester and is walking distance from our home.
  • We loved staying at this home! We had to book last minute due to an issue with our hotel. Anne & Ryan went above and beyond to accommodate us and we are so grateful to them for being so flexible. Their home is warm, inviting, clean and child-friendly. We were traveling with our 3 1/2 year old twin boys and they had plenty to keep them busy in and around the house. And the town of Pleasantville and its surrounding areas are breath-taking! Should our travel needs bring us to their area again, we would definitely love to stay at their home. Thumbs up all around!

    Tomiko2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in the lovely house of Anne and Ryan! The house is a good base for trips to NY. The station is on walking distance and it will take you 50 min to get to Grand Central Station. We also used our car and parked nearby a subway station in the city. We received all info from Anne and Ryan upfront our stay and they were really helpful answering other question via e-mail. We visited the house with 2 families with kids and had enough space. It was clean and had all facilities. House has a nice garden with nice terrace at backside of the house. When we visited, it was above 35C/95F, but on the ground floor it felt quite comfortable. The rooms on the 1st and second floors are a bit warmer, but all have ventilators. And hey, what else can you expect with these temp? So, this house is very good value for money and we would certainly recommend you to stay here!

    Edwin2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • My stay here was serene, fun, and an absolute joy. There are so many places, great restaurants, and nature-oriented activities in the vicinity, and Anne's house is the ideal home base. The garden and layout of the kitchen/living areas lend to it being a great space for group conversation and fun, yet also it is ideal in the alone moments for much needed quiet away from the city. It's super easy to access from Manhattan, and so much is available within walking distance: the film center, I loved Black Cow coffee and the Saturday Farmer's Market is one of the best I've ever been to. Craft + the Cookery were great restaurant recommendations from our hosts, who clearly opened their home and offered excellent suggestions on the area, it being our first time there. We also enjoyed Stone Barns + the Kittle House. Anne's home is very tastefully appointed, modern and soothing within a victorian framework, the beds super comfy, the neighborhood friendly yet low-key - in all a fantastic stay!

    Cristina2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house was just absolutely beautiful and immaculately clean - we were so lucky that it was available as there are few Air BB's in the area.

  • Thank you Nancy and Phil for providing such a lovely space in your home. It was comfortable, close to town and quiet.

    Kristine2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Phil were wonderful hosts. They couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and at home. All of our rooms were emaculately clean with freedom to adjust air conditioning as needed. Having access to the refrigerator and kitchen was priceless. Their home was so coveniently located to restaurants and shops that we needed. They will definitely be our first choice when we're back in the area again.

  • Nancy's house is more than just charming. The beautiful home was a pleasure, both visually and viscerally. Old photos lined the stairwell to the upstairs where our bedroom, bath, and sitting area waited. (a second bedroom is also available) We enjoyed the comforts provided as well as Nancy's warm greetings. We also enjoyed the food she offered. Beautiful Chappaqua was a lovely place to stay.

  • I come to visit a friend in Chappaqua. I was just looking for a place close to my friend at first, but when I leave I have two new friends, Nancy and Phil. They are great hosts, very responsive, caring, nice. Provided useful information about the town and NYC. I would stay with them again when I visit the area next time.

    tian2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's home is lovely! My partner and I were in town for a wedding and were looking to escape NYC for a couple of days, and Nancy was very welcoming and accommodating. We had the upstairs floor to ourselves so it was nice and private, and everything was cute and comfortable. The bed is a full so probably not too comfortable for two people for more than a couple nights, but for our quick getaway trip it was perfect.

    Paige2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were visiting family in Chappaqua and needed to find a place to spend the nights. The rooms here are spacious and clean and beautiful. Communication between us was easy. We plan on staying there again!

Also upstairs, a full bathroom with tub. A laundry machine and dryer can be found in the basement. In fair weather, enjoy a BBQ in the garden. And enjoy the high speed wifi and cable television with Roku boxes and Netflix at the ready. Monthly rental is possible at a discount over the weekly rate plus utilities. Please contact me for more information on extended stays! When you stay at the Sugar Shack, you're at home! You have full access to the house and it's contents. I keep the closets and drawers empty for your comfort and I supply you with whatever you need to get started on your stay. Because I live in Paris for the most part, I am not always able to meet and greet my guests. I try to! I often do! But when I can't be there I have someone to meet you and to be of assistance to you should you require anything during your stay. Enjoy Chappaqua and the surrounding quaint towns. Take a stroll at nearby Stone Barns Center for Food And Agriculture and eat at the special Blue Hill at Stone Barns, ride or walk the many wooded trails, enjoy music at the gorgeous Caramoor Center for Music and Art or hop a Metro North Train and be in Midtown in under an hour. Town and the Chappaqua Train Station is a short, downhill walk from The Sugar Shack. It's always best to have a car in Westchester, however, you can easily stay without wheels as shopping and transportation is within reach. Before check in, I will send you a PDF with lots of useful information about the house and the surrounding area. You will be in the know!

  • Elizabeth is a wonderful host. Your enquiries will be answered within minutes. Nothing is missing in the house. We had a feeling of staying at a friend's place. Great instructions, great amenities. The cottage is exactly as described. Perfect for two people who know each other well. For anyone staying there for work the wifi was outstanding. Proximity to both Chappaqua and Pleasantville is amazing. Quietness guaranteed. Highly recommend.

  • Elizabeth was very welcoming and communicative - all the house information was well-organized and she kept in touch to ensure that everything was going smoothly. The house is cozy and cute - Elizabeth has great style. The location is perfect - very central to everything in Westchester while also being somewhat rural. Our kids loved seeing a family of deer visit the yard. We had a great stay!

    Tamara2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was a very gracious host. She left things for us such as shampoo, hand cream, laundry detergent, and candles. As my family stayed there for a month, a few issues arose but she was swift to communicate with me and rectify the situation. The grounds of the home are lovely and the house itself very charming.

    Rhonda2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Good: Elizabeth was very attentive and responsive to our presence at her cottage despite being on another continent herself at the time of our stay. The cottage is well represented in the photos and is quite clean and comfortable to stay at. Before we left for the cottage, she sent us a ton of visitor information and local recommendations. The town and surrounding area was very pretty, and there was a great deli just around the corner for stocking up on picnic fare. Elizabeth is very personable to chat with via email and was enthusiastic about our stay in her home. The drive back and forth to the city is about an hour and just has great scenery along the way. The Bad: A couple of the household basics were in short supply when we got there, but overall the house was well stocked (there were even a few left over beers in the fridge from a previous tenant, bonus!) and we managed just fine. Elizabeth seemed genuinely apologetic for any inconvenience and offered to remedy any other issues we might come across. We ate out in town our first evening there and I was disappointed it was difficult to find decent but inexpensive food, prices at the few places we dropped in at were similar to the city. Wound up spending about $100 on some basic pub grub for 2 adults and 2 kids. Maybe it is just an expensive area despite being such a small town, or maybe I'm just cheap, you be the judge. Conclusion: The only bad things I had to say are really not worth complaining about and are greatly outweighed by the good. We had a great time at Elizabeth's Sugar Shack and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Westchester.

  • From day one, this cottage felt like our home. It is incredibly well-equipped with a worldly yet homey vibe; however, not personalized to the extent that you feel you're living someone else's life. You're walking distance to Metro North and ~50min trip to Grand Central, but also steps away from a lovely, quiet garden that is perfect for summer grilling and afternoon cocktails surrounded by birds, squirrels and the occasional deer. Elizabeth is incredibly gracious, responsive and accommodating. Five stars!

    Patty2016-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • After having stayed at the Sugar Shack for four months, we decided to go back for two more weeks. Does that say something? We love it (and we'll surely miss it)! Elizabeth is the perfect host and her house mirrors her personality: unpretentious and sofisticated (a perfect combination!). We could not recommend it more.

  • Elizabeth's home ("The Sugar Shack") is very well-equipped and absolutely lovely - the pictures don't really do it justice. The town is adorable with a great farmer's market on Sat., cute shops, and a very easy commute to NYC, which my husband did daily. The yard is a little sanctuary set far back from the road, which is great if you have kids like us and just want to hang out and BBQ in the yard. There's so much to see and do nearby from local farms to shopping. Finally, Elizabeth is awesome - a very responsive and gracious host with impeccable taste. She went well out of her way to ensure we had a great stay and had everything we needed. Highly recommended for small families, couples, or anyone looking for nice getaway!

The cottage at Stone Croft is a quick train ride to Manhattan, but looks out on woods and a stream. The cottage is like a two story suite with a full kitchen. There is a queen bed in the main bedroom and a queen sofa bed upstairs.
There is a dishwasher, washer/dryer, high speed internet and a TV with Apple TV in the cottage. Lots of light! Stone Croft is on Quaker Road, a main road of Chappaqua, a ten minute walk to train & town.
Downtown Chappaqua is a charming rural village, less than an hour by train from Grand Central Station in Manhattan. Search youtube for Chappaqua for a short video about the town.
  • Had a nice stay in Lisa's cozy cottage.

    EI-Travels2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is a wonderful host. We spent 2,5 month in her cottage house and were very happy. There are 2 rooms in house. Upper room is kitchen and dinning room. With lot of space and light. Other room is master bedroom. In spite of Lisa's house is nearby we felt total privacy:) Behind the house is wonderful garden to relax. We even saw deers couple of times. All is new, well done and very cosy. There are dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, air conditioner (cooling and heating), TV - all that is needed! Train station is nearby, 7 minutes walk. It is very convenient. Way to NYC takes 55 minutes without gems.

    Natalie2014-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts: The most wonderful hosts any guest could ask for. We stayed with U.S. and European family members and were blown away. The experience: High-end interior finishes throughout, tasteful, sparse decor. Think: Tuscany meets English Country Side. A unique feel. The neighborhood: Green, lush gardens, perforated by a stream nearby. Walkway connects cottage to train and surrounding area. Think: pedestrian friendly country setting in city's reach. Expectations: Exceeded. All age groups found pleasure in their stay: Small children, parents and grandparents each liked the cottage for their own reasons.

    Stefanie2014-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stonecroft Cottage. Everything was exactly as described on the listing. It was spacious and so convenient for visiting family in the area. Lisa and Chris were great hosts during a busy Holiday Season. We look forward to returning again. Thank you for making our extended stay in the NY area so super.

    Peggie2016-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • I chose this Chappaqua location, as it was close to my daughter and son-in-law, who live in Mount Kisco. It was very convenient to hop onto Saw Mill Pkwy, just down the road, and I would be at my daughter's house in 15 minutes. If it was rush hour, there was also a 'back way' that I could use, that was also a very scenic ride. If you are staying here, just be aware that the cottage is located on a road that can be very busy in the a.m. (as folks are heading to the nearby train station) and the p.m. (as they're heading back home). Also, try to avoid being on the road when the school buses are out, as you will get stuck behind them (this is a two-lane road). The cottage has everything you'll need, with an amazingly beautiful view of the surrounding snowy forest areas. There's also a stream right on the property, so you always hear the sound of rushing water. The bedroom, bathroom, and laundry are dowstairs, and the kitchen, half bath, and living area are upstairs. There are also a lot of windows, so you get some nice light during the day. The road out front can be noisy during the day, but at night, it is very quiet. If you are a regular 'cable tv' person, you'll have to get used to the "Apple TV". I'm not an 'Apple"person, so the owners were nice enough to show me how to use it. There are many channels you can't use, unless you sign into your iTunes (and pay for whatever show it is), but there are some channels that the owners subscribe to that you can use. If you're a 'techie', it'll be no problem. I was in the cottage during the blizzard on Jan. 23rd (my first, since I'm from So CA!), during which we received 12+ inches of snow in one day! It was beautiful, peaceful, and quiet, and since I couldn't go anywhere, did some of my most creative and inspired writing! The down side was that there wasn't any snow equipment in the cottage, so I had to dig my car out with a dustpan. Luckily, some nice people driving by, hopped out with their shovels and dug me out in no time! NJ-ites are so helpful!

    Kaila2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Bob were perfect hosts. Nice big well-appointed room. with its own bathroom. Comfy bed, big fluffy towels. Laura made coffee for us in the morning and offered bananas and energy bars. We will stay there again and would recommend it to anyone who's in the area.

    Ann2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay. Both are lovely people. I had to get up very early the next morning. When I retired to my room, I could hear Laura and Bob in the living area, which was perfectly appropriate, it was early evening. 5 minutes later I couldn't hear a sound which meant that they left the living room so as not to disturb me. They really didn't have to but it speaks to the kind of hosts that they are, very considerate. Also the bed was soooooo comfortable. All was neat and clean. A great stay!

  • Staying with Elise has been a wonderful experience. Her home is absolutely gorgeous, yet comfortable. She, as a host, has been welcoming, friendly, and gracious. She is a delight to spend time with, but also is very respectful of her guests' need for privacy. The location of her home is pretty much perfect - a quiet neighborhood with a country feel, only steps from a lovely village and the train to Manhattan. I am so glad I decided to stay here and highly recommend Elise and her home to anyone coming to the area.

    Lauren2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Elise's house was awesome. The house is beautiful, tidy and comfortable to live in, and the neighborhood is very quiet. Elise is a warm host who is always kind and willing to help, and did a great job on making the guest feel like home. I will definitely recommend this place for those who are looking for a short or long term stay in the area.

    Shuangfei2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is my first airbnb experience, and it turns out much better than I expected. The neighborhood is quiet and nice while the house is clean and comfortable. Elise is very responsive and answered every question in very short time. It's just a week stay, so I haven't got too much time spending in the garden and outside tables. But it will definitely be nice to stay outside , enjoy the view and sunshine. If I will ever intern / work in the nearby areas, this house will be my first choice.

    Xiaorui2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • What an exquisite place! A lot of elegant care with a french touch has gone into every detail. It is a beautiful spot to land. The room I was in was a small single room, cozy perfect for my needs. It is clean and quiet tucked away in a nice Chappaqua neighborhood. All was easeful and welcoming. I would definitely return on a future trip to Chappaqua.

  • This was our second time staying with Scott and Mindy. They are very warm and accommodating. A pleasure to stay with. The house is lovely and the living space is well appointed. The neighborhood is very nice, neighbors are friendly. Less than half a mile away was a nice paved trail for walking, running or biking. We will definitely be back.

    Michael2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Scott and Mindy are friendly hosts, and we enjoyed our stay. They were sensitive to our family's needs. Their place is nestled in a tree-lined, pleasant neighborhood. The accommodations were very comfortable. Our family felt right at home!

    Dena2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's room was very comfortable. It is an interesting townhouse with bedrooms "downstairs" (house is sort of on a hill) and Airbnb room is 2 stories down. Private room from rest of the floor and has its own bath. Tv was appreciated in the room and bed was very comfortable. Scott was very attentive and friendly. Easy parking.

    Alvita2017-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Scott and his whole family were very welcoming. Great quiet neighborhood, and having a place to park the car was awesome. Very clean, and we appreciated the pastries and coffee on the morning of our departure.

    Adriane2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The accommodation was fantastic. There was plenty of room for four of us. Mindy and Scott are great! Definitely one of the best experiences with Airbnb ever.

    Sandhya2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a short, but great stay with Scott and Mindy. We were visiting family in the area, so we weren't around much, but Scott & Mindy made us feel very welcome, offering up pastries, bottled water and of course the best asset of all - the ping pong table! The downstairs unit was very private. There was a good Mexican food restaurant just a few blocks away.

    Melissa2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived much later than anticipated to Scott and Mindy's home but they waited up and were very hospitable. The accommodations were lovely and exactly as described. The following morning they even gave us pastries to take with us for breakfast. Very thoughtful.

    Bethany2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were wonderful. The whole family was very kind and courteous throughout our stay. Scott went above and beyond the call of duty to help us get on the train and into the city in time for our engagement there. The house was exactly as described on airbnb. The complex had a number of people with young families. The grounds had a basketball court and swimming pool. There is a bike trail less than half a mile away. The neighborhood was very nice. My wife and I walked the neighborhood for exercise, it seemed very safe and there were some gentle hills to walk up.

I have been in the hotel business for over 30 years so hospitality is in my blood! Our home is about 45-minute train ride or car ride to NYC, art and culture, restaurants and dining, great views, and parks. Our place is grea for couples, families or friends of 6 people or less - we love kids. Central location great base for day trips to NYC, upstate trips to New Paltz, Cold Springs NY, Woodbury Commons (outlet shopping), 3 hour drive to Boston.
A great open, spacious home. Very warm and family friendly but also lovely for a couple wanting a respite from the city. This is our family home and although we have dedicated drawers and closet space for you, we do keep our possessions here. Everything you need is here, sheets, towels, soaps, shampoos, a fully stocked kitchen where you will find all you need to whip up a gourmet meal. In warm weather, we have a beautiful outdoor deck surrounded by tall green trees. A cozy family room area with a large flat screen, comfy sofas and an array of board games. If you have small children we live on a safe cul de sac.
Our home is located in a cul de sac on a short tree lined street at the top of the street. About a mile walk into town, tennis, pool, hardware store, boutiques, deli and Starbucks. I love taking a morning walk to our local coffee shop for a croissant and to read the morning paper...on my ipad of course.

  • Jane is phenomenal!! From our first email, she was amazing to work with. She is warm, friendly and such a gracious host. She absolutely went above and beyond--- so much so that she even left cookies and little gift bags for my kids. Her home is as warm as she is. From the moment we got there we felt right at home. The space is fantastic and it's impeccably kept. There is plenty of room and it's just easy, comfortable living. I can't say enough good things!!! We hope to go back soon!!

  • My husband and I stayed here three nights with his parents and our two kids, one teenager and one toddler. It's a lovely property in a great location. We enjoyed exploring the local area, visiting Kykuit and having dinner one night at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. One comment is that this is the owners current home (as is clearly stated), so the owners possessions are in the closets and dressers. It would have been nice to have a little space to unpack but this was not a big deal for our short stay of three nights. Otherwise we very much enjoyed the property, especially having dinner out on the deck one nice evening. The place is immaculately clean and spacious. Although I didn't get to meet the owners in person, Jane was great to deal with by email and always responded promptly to any questions.

  • Chris and Leslie were wonderful hosts-- they were very welcoming from the second my boyfriend and I walked in the door (and the smell of cookies baking added to the home-y feel). They helped up with information about location and the town, but then let us do our thing - since we were getting ready for a wedding. Luckily, there wasn't a problem to get back at midnight. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfy! I was also grateful for the basket of travel toiletries they have in the bathroom, since I accidentally forgot my cleanser. There looked to be an amazing hammock in the backyard-- I was sad not to stay longer to be able to utilize that!

    Katrina2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable one night stay. Chris was flexible with check-in arrangements which was very helpful when coordinating last minute plans. Thanks very much!

    Leah2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Leslie were flexible about my arrival time. Chris helped me figure out the parking and showed me around the house. My room was comfortable and cozy and clean. The yard was lovely and the neighborhood was well kept. Very convenient location for me.

    Luz2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Leslie were lovely people. The were very fast in responding to my request and all questions, which was great -- since I booked them very last minute. They were all smiles and we had great conversation and I could easily have spent my time visiting with them if I didn't have other things to attend to, but they were very respectful of that and didn't hold me up. The house was immaculate and very warm and welcoming. The private room with the twin bed was perfect and very comfortable. The area was quiet, so I slept well. They were very accommodating on my late return to the house (I got back around 3am) and proactively offered flexibility on my departure time since nobody was checking in the day I left. Parking on the street was super easy, but I was a little surprised that the town requires overnight parkers to "call in" to a 24 hour municipal number. That's just the town -- not Chris and Leslie -- and they helped me through it and it was easy enough. The area feels completely safe and I felt totally at ease on the street at 3am. It was a 35 min straight shot down to the Bronx -- which is where I was heading, with no tolls/traffic. There was no lock on the bedroom door -- which didn't really bother me, though I thought it was a bit odd that there was no lock on the bathroom. They use a sign to indicate whether it is occupied or not and you're on the honor system. It wouldn't dissuade me from staying there again, but I think it's worth mentioning (I *believe* the bathroom is dedicated to the guests, of which there are only two rooms). They might consider a hook or bolt lock on the inside just for peace of mind ;) Though she happily offered breakfast in the morning, I was meeting family so I didn't actually eat there. Maybe next time :) All in all, a great experience and I would definitely stay there again. Thanks Chris & Leslie!

  • Chris and Leslie made us feel comfortable and at home. They were excellent hosts & we couldn't be happier about our experience. Definitely would stay here again if in the area.

  • Leslie and Chris are great hosts. They were flexible and thoughtful. The house is lovely, very neat and clean. We enjoyed meeting their cats.

    Anna2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Leslie made us feel welcome and comfortable instantly, like visiting distant family for the weekend. We have an slight allergy to cats, but their home is spotless and we did not have an instance of allergic reaction to their two kind felines. Their home is located a simple 40 minute walk up hill from the main train station, but they offered to pick us up on arrival, as well as check us in a bit early. Our cozy room came with necessities, plus hair dryer, electric heater and blanket, alarm clock, ceiling fan, and additional toiletries if we forgot something. Leslie is a great resource for information on local attractions. I was happy to see that they are recyclers!

The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and convenient to groceries, shopping and many local little shopping towns. Croton on the Hudson was our go to place for the scenery and serenity, only 15 minutes drive. Sunset Cove in Tarrytown is a well kept secret off the beaten path for drinks and dinner outside under the tappanzee bridge at sunset. Morning coffee on her very private deck and excellent wifi outside, huge bonus. We will definitely stay again.

  • Our stay was wonderful and Laura was a gracious host. Even though we did not meet her she kept in touch to assure that everything went well. She was een kind enough to assure that she continue her NYTimes subscription so that w4e had a delivere newspaper every day. The home was plasant and easy to live in. It was near highways and shopping.

    Janet2013-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's home was clean, quiet and met our needs perfectly. She was an excellent hostess - helpful, considerate, available, and kind. I would recommend this home if you are staying in the area for a while. It was not walking distance to anywhere(except the trails) so I would advise having a car. The walking trails on the Rockefeller Estate were amazing!

    Mary Ann2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We totally enjoyed our time in Laura's charming home. the accommodations are extremely comfortable and the property was stunning as the colors of the leaves were at there peak. We witnessed the brightest Yellows, Reds and Oranges - Just Gorgeous! Laura is a gracious hostess and left us with information on the area along with menus, a bottle of wine, and breakfast and snack items to start off our stay. We visit the area at least once a year and hope to make Laura's home our home away from home again!

    Susan2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's house is perfect for anyone doing research at the Rockefeller Archive Center, a 5 minute walk door to door. The house is comfortable, quiet and filled with art and books. You have full access to a clean and modern kitchen; your room is private with its own bathroom, large screen tv and w/d access. Laura provides many basics for food, there is wifi, and she will help with errands to downtown Tarrytown or suggestions in where to eat. Her house is also close to beautiful trails in the Rockefeller Estates and state park.

  • It was wonderful to meet Laura and stay at her home. I grew up in the area and returned for a reunion. The visit was extraordinary and staying in Pocantico at Laura's only enhanced the experience.

This 2 bedroom cabin includes a newly updated kitchen, full bath, and living space with a wood burning fireplace. The cabin also has a back deck to enjoy the surrounding wildlife and nature.
Minutes away from a 22 mile trail for bikes, inline skating, horseback riding, and walking/running. Spend time in the downtown area or explore out into nearby Bedford Hills or Sleepy Hollow! Chappaqua has close proximity to several charming towns great for leisurely exploring small shops and restaurants. My favorite spot in Chappaqua is the Chappaqua Tavern. They have great food and a wide range of craft beers to enjoy. For brunch, I enjoy Le Jardin Du Roi located across the street. The grocery store is 5 mins away called DeCicco & Sons - 230 Saw Mill River Rd. In the same complex, you'll find a pharmacy, bank, coffee shop, and a liquor store.
  • This home is wonderful. Close to highways yet surprisingly quiet. Comfortable cozy and a great place to fall asleep, as well as have a wine on the secluded deck. Thank you to my host. Bravo!

    Melanie2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the cabin - it's nestled in a beautiful neighborhood surrounded by peaceful woods and wildlife. The cabin itself is charmingly rustic but has tasteful modern decor and amenities - the deck overlooking the woods was our favorite part! Would definitely stay here again. Perfect proximity to surrounding towns, farmers markets, hiking trails, etc.

    Sarah2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • John was easy to get a hold of and helped us out, so that was great. However, the house needed to be dusted and cleaned a bit better. Additionally, the driveway coming down to the house is dangerous, my wife almost fell. Windows are old and there were newspapers in the holes., but the outside cold air did come through. The bed was large, but was not on a frame, just set on the floor and was not comfortable. Finally the house is close to a gun shooting range, so you can hear that noise. John is a very nice guy, but our experience at his house was not the best.

    James2016-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was cozy and beautiful decorated!

  • Had a quiet girls trip over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed staying at this quaint and cozy cabin in the woods. We had forgotten a few cooking supplies and the kitchen was fully stocked and full. The patio was quite lovely throughout, from morning to evening. The hammock was a nice touch as well! Really enjoyed our stay and would most definitely come again!

  • Jake and Sarah have a beautiful home. I moved around through AirBnB a few times now while transitioning through a move across country, and they have made me feel more at home than I have felt since leaving mine. Jake is currently renovating the property himself and it is absolutely beautiful. Sarah's design makes this experience seem like a high class hotel stay. This house is clean, tidy, inviting, and comes with good company. Finding this place was a great thing for me, and I feel that their home would be for most anyone. I have no reservations of my stay, I would stay with them again without question. Good time, great people.

  • Sarah and jacob's place is really lovely. They purchased an older home and renovated it. The renovations are really nice. Jacob is an architect and their aesthetic sensibility shows. The room is small but very comfortably minimal. The bed was very comfy as well as the comforter. The shared kitchen is totally up to date and modern. Parking is a cinch, right outside. Sarah and Jacob were really nice and attentive. This is definitely an A listing.

  • We had the best time in Ossining! Sharon and Blake were the most lovely hosts that you could image - friendly, welcoming, relaxed, inviting and in-the-know of all the local outdoor secrets that made our trip so fantastic. • Julie's place was in a quiet area. Julie was very accommodating and flexible. My boyfriend and I were even met with a very warm welcome..The studio was equipped with the basic essentials needed. I would definitely recommend Julie's place &I will be staying there again.

    Shainia2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Julie & Christina were gracious hosts and my husband and I were very pleased. We had a second floor bedroom with en suite bathroom that was cheerful, clean and comfortable. Although the house appeared old, the air conditioner worked well; the shower was a pleasure; and our private balcony was a perfect place to sit with a cup of coffee and listen to the birds. Our room included a coffee maker, coffee, tea, & all that goes with it; wine glasses & a cork screw; shampoo, conditioner, & nice choices of soaps in the bathroom; hair dryer, hand cream on the night stand, and even two yummy Lindt chocolates and a convenient parking space. The house is located in a friendly neighborhood that was having a block party on one of the nights we were there, and Julie & Christina invited us. Ossining is on the Hudson, where many towns are getting revitalized. While we were there, we visited family and met friends in nearby Peekskill.

  • Comfortable place with great hosts. So many amazing restaurants in the area. Eat your way across the world in one cute town. Easy walk to trails (Old Croton Aqueduct will take you to Crawbuckie, a hidden treasure). Can also walk to train for scenic ride to the city, or further up the Hudson if escaping from it.

  • The spacious, peaceful balcony, bohemian decor, and special touches like yummy scented toiletries, plush towels, full-size hair dryer and quality teas made this the relaxing retreat we wanted. We walked into town and had the best Guatamalan food at Karma Lounge! We enjoyed appetizers on the waterfront at Half Moon in Dobbs Ferry, then strolled the River Walk during a beautiful pink sunset. We toured historic Lyndhurst Castle and the relaxing grounds. The last day, we headed to Bear Mountain State Park to check out the lake and zoo. There are many cute towns and scenic nature to explore within driving distance. The bed was super comfortable, no squeaks. The cozy, immaculate room was dark and quiet at night and the a/c worked great when needed. The fridge fit a bag of our hard boiled eggs, two small cartons of dinner leftovers, 4 small cottage cheeses, and 2 puddings a prior guest had left. The only time noise was an issue was the first morning. The house was built 1920 (gorgeous) and the hardwood floors are creaky. The sound of the resident walking upstairs woke me up pretty early. But I didn't hear anything the rest of our stay, slept well! The positive energy in the room, hosts and home is palpable. The hosts clearly take pride in providing a relaxing getaway for guests, and every detail reflects that, including the thoughtful welcome binder! I'll miss drinking tea on the balcony each morning, watching the butterflies, birds, squirrels and the host's curious cat!

    Elise2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • I needed a short, cozy retreat and that's exactly what I got! Julie is so friendly and really made me feel at home, and the space couldn't have been lovelier. From the warm and soft bedding to the Himalayan salt lamp, I truly felt like I was far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. One of the best parts of the stay was getting an incredible massage from Julie at her private massage studio—amazing! I'm very pick about my massages so believe when I tell you that she's extremely gifted. The porch is also a nice place to chill, and the whole stay truly helped me decompress. I left feeling brand new! PS - Amazing coffee place on the way to the train.
