Vacation Rentals in Pinecrest

Just booked in Pinecrest

The two story windows and back deck provide a beautiful view of the river. This view in combination with the sound of the river provides a unique peaceful and restful vacation.
The cabin is a 1475 sq. ft. two story furnished three bedroom, two bath, with linens, towels, pillows, blankets, cable T.V., V.C.R., D.V.D. and has a fully outfitted kitchen with microwave. There are two queen beds, one king bed and a king futon in the living room. The cabin will sleep 6 adults or 8 people total. It is well insulated, passive solar, with a glass door stove fireplace. With plenty of room downstairs you can lounge in front of the fireplace and sleep underneath the stars.
You can drive to Pinecrest Lake in about five minutes where you can swim, boat, fish, hike, or see a movie. We love to go boating and fishing on Pinecrest Lake. It takes about ten minutes to drive to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Leland High Sierra Snow Play is about 4 miles east on Highway 108 where you can cross country ski or toboggan. Long Barn Lodge, 9 miles west, offers ice-skating in the winter. Viistor information is available at the U.S. Forest Service Summit Ranger station in Pinecrest. Twain Harte is about 15 minutes away and offers quaint restaurants and hometown charm. If you’re looking for some gaming action the Black Oak Casino is located in Tuolumne. Sonora has great restaurants, golf, theatre, antiques, shopping and cinema.
  • Great communication with Julie prior to our arrival. The views inside and outside the cabin were beautiful. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the board games with our boys. We'll definitely be back!

  • The place was gorgeous, right above a beautiful creek. We used this as a jumping off point before driving to Kennedy Meadows and backpacking to Relief Reservoir. It worked perfectly. Julie was accommodating and responsive.

  • The pictures don't do justice to just how beautiful the scenery and the house is. We loved having happy hour on the huge deck overlooking the river. The entire house is very clean and it was a great touch having all of the towels each person would need folded on the beds. The large dining room table was just what our family needed to enjoy our meals together. We loved our vacation here!

  • We stayed here in early January with our kids, two other couples and our dogs and really enjoyed our stay. We wanted to stay in Strawberry so that we would have snow around the cabin and we were not disappointed. The whole trip was worthwhile when my 3 year old woke up in the morning, saw the snow covered trees and hills through the window and woke me, saying "Daddy, wake up, it's Christmas". As far as amenities, the cabin is well stocked with all the essentials that you'll need for your stay. The beds were better than what you would expect in a cabin but not the luxurious bed you may have at home. The bathrooms have a little different layout and are kind of a tight fit for bigger stature people. We cooked all three meals in the kitchen and didn't feel like we were missing anything as far as prep and service. The television is basic but we were able to watch the NFL games that were on that day while we were inside. Outside, we made our own private saucer/toboggan run at the end of the street, which is no more than 100 feet. It has a gradual slope that wasn't too aggressive for our young children to go down and it beat fighting the crowds that lined the highway at different spots. We would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a getaway and would stay here again the next time we want a snow-treat or a summer away from the valley heat. Thanks so much to Julie for making sure everything was ready for us and letting us "crash" at her place for the weekend. We all really, really enjoyed our time there.

  • Our family had a great stay at the cabin - our two girls especially loved their 'holiday home'. The cabin was clean, bright, spacious yet somehow lovely and cosy too. The rushing water of the river full of spring rain and snow melt was incredibly beautiful and relaxing. We had a lovely hike round Pinecrest Lake and a great day trip to Columbia. We would definitely stay again.

  • Is life and city-living beating you down? Then go here. -Heart-stopping + Breathtaking balcony view -Various places around the area to check out -All the must have amenities provided (except for wi-fi ...think for a minute before labeling that as a con) -Top notch communication, instructions, and service by Owner. Precaution: Stay clear from casinos after your visit. You might feel overly confident and think you are on a streak of making the right call. So Yes...Highly recommended for anyone.

    Cabin On The River
    59 reviews
This is a very cute bungalow in the pines close to the river in Strawberry, Ca. 1 very spacious bedroom and an open living space including the kitchen, dining and living areas. All knotty pine, open beam ceiling, front deck to sit & listen to the river & minutes to Pinecrest Lake. The bungalow is just right for a couple. It is very quiet day and night. The front deck gives you lots of room to use the gas BBQ and just hang out, nap or read.
Our bungalow is designed as a mountain cabin, all knotty pine inside with a fully functional kitchen, comfortable living room, and a large front deck with a gas BBQ to enjoy. All the sheets and towels are provided along with soap and shampoo so all you need to bring is your cloths and food. Parking at the bungalow is limited but there is room just down the driveway to park a trailer or boat if you plan on bringing something like that along.
Strawberry is just a couple of miles from Pinecrest Lake and the village of Pinecrest and only a couple of minutes walk to the river for fishing of just sitting on the bank and watching the river flow by, listen to the birds sing and enjoy the sun. There are a several small lakes around to hike to and some good mountain biking. Horse back riding is only about a 25 minute drive away. Within minutes drive you can reach some of the trailheads for back packing.
  • Lovely quiet beautiful and so peaceful

  • Chucker and Debi are very talented and take great care of their beautiful bungalow. The layout was perfect with a roomy loft and half bathroom upstairs, the downstairs has a great kitchen (really nice stove and burners), tv, living space, and beautiful full bathroom (both the bathrooms are recently refurbished and gorgeous). While the bungalow itself deserves a 10/10, all of the little touches put together by Chucker and Debi make me wish I could give it an 11/10. They had two wine bottles for us, glasses in the freezer, and many other little touches that really made the stay perfect. They also had everything that we happened to forget (saran wrap, soy sauce, etc...) on top of that they live right down the street and let us know they were available if we needed anything else. Overall I couldn't think of a single thing I would change to make my stay at this airbnb any better. I highly recommend staying here!

  • Our stay was exactly what we were hoping for, which was due in part to your great description of the place up front. Your communication was excellent and the home was perfectly appointed. We had a great time hiking the area and biking along the South Fork Stanislaus while stopping to catch trout in pools along the way. Thanks so much for renting the place out.

  • This was a wonderful place to stay in Strawberry! The cabin is as cute as can be, and was a perfect place for my fiancé and I to stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to make all our meals and I loved cooking on the new oven and range, the deck was perfect for relaxing, and it's a great location, close to the river. The upstairs loft bedroom was super cozy, comfy bed, with two windows we left open all night to let in the mountain air. Although the bathroom could use a little work cosmetically, everything functioned as it should and we really can't complain. Great value for a super great little cabin!

    Michaela2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • A very cute cabin, just right for 2 people.

    Michael2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place on a quiet road surrounded by big trees--a real getaway from the city. Chucker was very friendly and helpful--answering questions, bringing over extra towels when asked. I'd stay here again.

    Tom2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the house specially the outdoor barbicue! The place is very neat and everything was as desccribed, communication with Chucker was easy. We recommend it!

    Lucila2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Chucker and Debi were excellent hosts from start to finish. The cabin is better than I expected. The first floor kitchen/dining/living room is nice and open. The upstairs has a relaxed cozy feeling to it and we slept great! The bathrooms recently redone look great as well and added to the comfort of the home. We have stayed at cabins in the area before and always love coming to this area for the quiet and the sound of the river nearby. Truly a great weekend escape!

The ultimate mountain retreat—a minute from the river—complete with linen, towels, gas BBQ, and a quaint kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, and vintage Wedgewood gas stove. Relax on the deck...fly fish in the world class Stanislaus River…hike along the river to the Strawberry Inn…swim, boat, fish or see a movie under the stars at Pinecrest lake…mountain bike down the railroad grade to Twain Harte…or explore miles of wilderness trails. Perfect for a romantic getaway or retreat with friends.
In addition to the two bedrooms and two queen beds, there is a double futon in the living room that could accommodate two more people. I provide clean linens and bedding for the queen beds, but you would have to bring your own for the futon if you decide to use it. Also, Verizon is the only reliable cell service in Strawberry so please contact me before you leave.
This is a wonderful mountain community, where you can view a magical starlit night. Since there are no street lights, please bring a flashlight if you plan to arrive after dark.
  • The cabin was such a great experience...from the excellent communication with Susan to the delicious banana bread waiting for us! Susan was amazing with her response times to questions and so accommodating. She is by far the best hostess I’ve encountered thus far! The cabin was very comfortable, stocked with necessary supplies and cooking items. She had treats for us on arrival. ❤️ We held a dinner party one night and had everything we needed or wanted. The house had plenty of seats and everyone loved the place! The river is a short walk away and you can hear it from the porch like music. It was a magical weekend!

    Chelsea2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Susan is a woderful host and an interesting and kind person. The cottage was so cute, cozy, and well equiped, perfectly located for exploring the gorgeous mountain surroundings, being nestled in a beautiful mountain community near Pinecrest Lake. You can walk to a fantastic pub (The Strawberry Inn) that serves proper pints of excellent beer and good hot food (perfect after a long hike). We loved watching old film noirs by a crackling fire on the wood stove. It was the kind of place that was quiet and comfortable to sleep in a little late under a warm duvet, have a nice breakfast overlooking the pines, hike all day and return home for a snuggle and movie or board games and cups of tea. A wonderful romantic getaway and much needed for these two over-tired parents of twin toddlers! Thank you Susan for making our stay so wonderful! :D

  • Rustic and charming. It's close to everything.

    Dylan2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place in paradise. Right by the Stanislaus River, clear, cold, swimmable, fishable water. A 5 minute walk. A 5 minute drive to Pinecrest Lake. The cabin was excellent and provided a great rest for us and our two children. We loved all the boardgames. The kitchen was well stocked. This place was a great base camp for the multitude of adventures we had. Susan was very nice and communicated great. Her opening offerings were gobbled up by the children and enjoyed by all. I hope this place is available next time we travel to Pinecrest.

    Foley2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was so sweet stock her house with homemade banana bread, coffee, and wine! It was a lovely stay. I would recommend this house to anyone!

    Catherine2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a real delight. You're walking distance from the Stanislaus River, in a beautiful pine forest, and a short drive from Pinecrest Lake. Location wise it doesn't get any better. But it's not just location. This place has real charm- all the board games you could want, field guides that helped us learn about the trees outside, a guitar, rocking chairs and lots of knotted pine. The place would be great for families as the bedrooms are connected (so in order to go to the bathroom from one of the bedrooms, you have to walk through the other or you can go around outside). That being said, we were two couples, and it wasn't a big deal. Last but most certainly not least, Susan was a great host, communicating clearly ahead of time, leaving treats for our arrival (fresh coffee, banana bread, OJ and wine!), And generally in her communication exuding warmth. We are hoping to return here soon!

    Meg2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Susan's charming cabin in Strawberry! Super clean and comfortable with everything that we needed to make our stay very pleasant! Fresh banana bread, orange juice, and a nice bottle of wine were waiting for us when we arrived which we really appreciated! Comfortable bed and plenty of blankets which kept us cozy during an unexpected snow storm. Lots of videos to watch and games to play if the weather is not cooperating. We found the cabin easy to find and close to everything we wanted to see and explore. Thank you, Susan, for your warm hospitality. We hope to be back soon!

    Elizabeth2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and her husband were among the very best hosts we've encountered on Airbnb - they went over and beyond to make our stay a great one (spent an hour on the phone telling me about fishing spots for my son, left us banana bread and a bottle of wine, mailed our son's stuffed animal that we forgot etc). The place itself had a really nice cozy feel - we could tell that many good memories had been created here. The price was also fantastic and the location was excellent. All in all, a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway.

Stanislaus river echoes throughout. This historic building has charming rooms above the Strawberry Store. Pinecrest lake with boating, swimming, outdoor theatre , hiking, camping and other activities is 2 miles away. Quiet, healthy, fun get away. Endorsed by all, All bedrooms are located above the store.
  • My daughter, 7, and I stayed President's weekend to play in the snow. This is a perfect spot to get to Dodge Ridge and the Snowplay areas across the street and tubing just 8 miles up the road. All in all, this is a fun little spot. The river runs so close that you can hear it at night. You share the home with two locals that are wonderfully sweet and nice and willing to help out if you have questions about the area. The kitchen, bath, and sitting area are shared. This actually helped with getting to know the other people in the house and we shared meals and exchanged stories of our day. The house is being renovated, so it is in progress, but was clean and tidy and as advertised. I recommend this stay for anyone who likes to meet new people and really experience the local history as the home was built over 40 years ago.

  • This place was great and Mary was wonderful. Such a neat home and with a store just downstairs, which is of course super convenient. Close to the lake and countless hikes. Recommended for sure.

    Charlie2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was so friendly and a lovely host. The rooms are a bit rustic but clean.

    Catherine2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is such a wonderful hostess! She is sweet, accommodating, attentive, and generous. She made sure we had everything we needed and offered to open the store after hours to pick up things we were missing. However, this is not an entire home/apt that you are renting (despite what it said when we booked). It is more of a communal, free-flowing situation with no locked doors (and sometimes no doors at all!) and a shared kitchen and bathroom. We had our own room which was very private and had an incredibly comfortable bed, and everyone we met- human and dog alike- was very friendly. We had a great time but if you are really serious about having a place to yourselves then this might not be the situation for you. If you're looking for a relaxed base camp at a *great* price from which to explore the area, I'd highly recommended it.

    Dave2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. My dogs and I were very welcomed into this home and had full use of the kitchen and a shared bathroom. I had a private room with a nice view. The living area is above the Strawberry store and the building is going through some renovations. I was lucky to meet and spend some time talking with Mary and some of the other guests staying there. I was also invited to join everyone for dinner; this was a nice surprise. I would recommend staying at Mary's and look forward to staying there again for skiing at Dodge Ridge or fishing at Pinecrest Lake.

    Larisa2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This location is BEYOND awesome. The rushing river is literally across the street. You can hear it from the room. Lovely! Very close to Stanislaus National Park, lots of great hikes, and many lakes. Just wonderful! Mary is a super duper cool person. Very accommodating. I felt like I was staying with family. Bottom line: WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK!

    Jean-Luis2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I spend 3 nights in Mary’s home during the July 4th weekend with my son as a ‘basecamp’ from where we explored trails in the adjacent Emigrant Wilderness. The house is presently (July 2016) being renovated so some facilities are at this moment a bit limited or under construction, but what Mary’s home currently may be missing in terms of luxury it more than makes up in terms of charm and history. We used two of the rooms, with big and very comfortable beds; the kitchen is well equipped and was completely at our disposal; WIFI works well which is important given the sometimes spotty phone signal up in the mountains. The downstairs store, which Mary has taken over only a few months ago, is well stocked, including outdoor and fishing items, and comes very handy to stock up on food or get a cool evening beer. As the store is one of the social meeting points in Strawberry, there is always a lively coming and going; sitting on the front porch with a drink and a newspaper is a pleasant and sure way to meet some of the other visitors and locals and have a chat about everything from the last sighting of a black bear to the recent purchase of a new fire engine. Mary is a charming (and during the high season also a very busy) host who makes you immediately feel totally at ease and ‘at home’. Overall, an ideal place from where to explore fabulous nature and surroundings of a beauty comparable to the (adjacent) Yosemite, minus the crowds and entrance fee. Tips: Try some of the hikes out of the Crabtree or Gianelli’s Cabin trail-heads, some 30-45 minutes up the mountain on a forest service road accessible by car.

    jurgen2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was very sweet however the place was under construction somewhat and the bed was a portable bed, no tv, had to share 1 bathroom with 3 people all non related renters. We were there for a wedding. Should have been told upfront when making reservations months Go more of the living conditions. The town was booked so moving might have been difficult. Just kept telling ourselves it was an adventure.

Rifugio is decorated with some of the pieces from Grandpa and Grandma's cabin in Cow Creek where the owner, Paul, spent many a Summer. We have gone with a real rustic, cabin feel - slate floors in the kitchen, great room and dining room, granite tile in the kitchen, and comfy carpet in the bedrooms. There is 2,160 square feet of living space. The master bedroom & on-suite bath are on the main living level along with the half bath, and the two other bedrooms are upstairs, with another bathroom.
This is a great property for making life-long memories with your family and friends! The wide open spaces of the kitchen, dining and great room allow for wonderful togetherness, but then having the two bedrooms upstairs with a separate bathroom allow for escape, if need be. The outside deck is wrap-around and is the perfect place to spend Summer evenings, or Winter days playing in the snow. Our side yard has a great hill for sledding, and our road is a nice, gradual drop so if you can beat the snow plow, you can sled for approximately 1/4 mile!
We are at the bottom of the subdivision, so it is very quiet and serene. There is no cabin in the lot behind us, so that also makes for a very private retreat.

You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the neighborhood, the people, the outdoors space, and the light. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
  • The host canceled this reservation 102 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • My family (me, wife, three 9yo sons) and I stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed ourselves very much. The highlight for us was grilling sausages by the nicely protected and cozy grill rock. The location is excellent with easy access to the beach. Good parking. The cabin is rustic, clean and easygoing. Mark was helpful, gracious and equally easygoing.

    Wallace2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a fantastic time in this great cabin. The convenience of being able to walk easily to the lake is priceless. Our kids absolutely loved roasting marshmallows in the backyard in the firepit. We can't wait for another opportunity to go back to Pinecrest and enjoy Mark's cabin again.

    Carrie2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Location is great, it's just a short walk to the lake which you can see from the cabin. There is also great outside spaces (nice/big front porch and a nice, natural fire pit in the back with plenty of seating) for a large group.

    Isabel2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Mark is very nice, answered all of our questions. We had a great stay.

  • We had a wonderful stay at this lovely Pinecrest cabin! The cabin really is as close to the lake as you can be in this area. We enjoyed walking to the lake in PJs with a morning cup of coffee in hand. The cabin itself is a classic Pinecrest cabin, with all the rooms being quite spacious. The backyard area is perfect for nightime fires and grilling. I would recommend this cabin for families on vacation, or groups of friends looking for a relaxing place to hangout.

My place is a charming cabin located near Lake Pinecrest. Rustic and quaint, it is directly across from the S. Fork of the Stanislaus River near many sledding hills and creeks to explore. Just a few miles from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and Leland Snowpark. Beardsley Reservoir and the Sonora Pass are all within a few miles. Enjoy Lake Pinecrest a mile hike or quick drive. Wake up and walk straight into national forest!
My cabin is southern-facing, with lovely spaces to lounge indoor and out. It backs up to national forest and faces the S. Fork of the Stanislaus River. Whether you like to mountain bike, hike, swim at the lake or in the many bathing holes, or indulge in snow sports--my cabin is the perfect place to call home year-round. Ideal for those wanting to unplug.
My cabin backs up to national forest and is one of the last cabins before you are in the middle of the Stanislaus Wilderness! During winter, bring your snowboots/waterproof hiking boots. During summer, bring your bathing suit and hiking/water shoes as there are many creeks and the Stanislaus River to bathe in and explore!
  • We had a fantastic time staying at Lola's place in Stanislaus! The cabin was super charming and in an absolutely ideal location: right off the river, very close to gorgeous hikes in Emigrant. There's a little store at the end of her street for last minute supplied. The beds in the cabin are *Extremely* comfortable, and I loved the whole upstairs. There is a fireplace both indoors and out -- lovely to hang out around and watch the stars. Thanks so much for hosting!!!

    Erin2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lola's place is great. Very rustic, but cozy and comfortable. We stayed in the winter and it was chilly as the cabin has no central heat. But, the fire is great and Lola provided us with space heaters and mattress warmers and we were nice and toasty in bed. Great proximity to Dodge Ridge for skiing and to great sledding hills. Lola is a wonderful host.

    Natasha2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is rustic and secluded - just what we were seeking. If you are looking to unplug and relax in the Sierras, this is the place. Easy walk to the local market and Inn with a restaurant - easy drive to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and Leland Snow Play. Big bonus is that the cabin is located on the edge of the Stanislaus National Forest and in mere minutes, we had discovered a fire road that served as the best private sledding spot for the duration of our stay. Really a great place to getaway - and just mere hours from the Bay Area.

    Scott2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lola was super responsive, helpful, and flexible! We'd never been to the area before and Lola was really informative about the area and even driving conditions in the snow. The cabin is perfect for a family getaway! Cozy fireplace, comfortable beds, and awesome location - right next to the Strawberry Store and at the entrance to a part of the Stanislaus National Forest where cars don't go. We booked the place because it was close to Leland Snow Park, but there are also a bunch of other awesome sledding hills right there.

    Erik2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • From start to finish, our first AirBNB experience was a great one. Lola was extremely helpful throughout our stay there. The cabin was unique and cozy for our family of 5. Our kids loved being able to see and hear the river right from the deck of the cabin. The views of the trees and mountainside were awesome. We loved the short walk to the store and restaurant. The warm fires at night were just the thing on a rainy weekend. We will definitely be back to this cabin many more times throughout the seasons.

    Jeremy2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great family get together. Very scenic. Quick walk to the Strawberry Store, which had good selection of beer and wine. And also near the Strawberry Inn which had excellent pizza and some good cocktails

    Stephen2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, can walk to sledding spots, beautiful and peaceful spot, and rustic and charming cabin. Lola was a very communicative and helpful host. If you're coming in the snow, check in with Lola about conditions to get to the house, etc. There's no central heating, but there are heaters and a fireplace, once it's warmed up, you'll be good. We loved the no wifi - great for the kids too (altho you can hook up at a nearby lodge.)

    Melissa2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely perfect. Very quiet and comfortable. The proximity to a little market and restaurants was also a plus, especially considering the relatively remote location. If you are looking to go to Dodge Ridge ski resort, it is a very easy 10-minute drive. The house itself has 2 queen sized beds downstairs in separate rooms. If you have more than a couple people there is also a very comfortable rennovated attic with a king size bed and a couple twins. The mattress heaters were a nice touch. My wife and I would definitely come again.

This is a one bedroom apartment upstairs from what used to be La Morenita Mexican Restaurant. It has a king bed in the bedroom and a two queen beds in the side loft. For the winter there is a really nice wood burning stove with free firewood for heat but also a strong electric floor heater in the bedroom. It has a front balcony and back deck that have really nice views of the beautiful surrounding forest. You are just minutes to all the fun things the Pinecrest area has to offer, Pinecrest Lake, world-class hiking, bike trails, horseback riding, one of the prettiest drives in the country over Sonora Pass, down 395, and back through Yosemite on Hwy 120. Access on and off Hwy 108 is very convenient, getting stuck in snow is not a problem!
Right next store to Mia's restaurant! Closest rentable accommodations to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort not on Forest Service land.
  • We had a great experience with Steve and Gail. They were were really pleasant and accommodating. They made us feel like more than just patrons. Gail brought us fresh-baked cookies during our stay.

    Jennifer2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was amazing, Steve and Gail is extremely kind and accomodating. They are very close to the lake, so location is perfect! I would stay there again!

  • We had a wonderful stay, the location was perfect for skiing. Steve and Gail were very welcoming and helpful. The kitchen was really well stocked with dishes and utensils which make cooking really easy. We brought our dogs and they loved it, there was plenty of places to walk them. This was a great experience and we would definitely go back.

  • Enjoyed our stay. Easy to communicate with Steve and Gail.

    Wendy2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin. Gail was extremely welcoming and always looking for ways to make us feel more comfortable. The space was as expected -- warm and cozy! We'd definitely go back!

  • Wonderful hosts. Great location for Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge plus there's a nice Italian Restaurant next door (but no noise, parking, or traffic issues). The upstairs unit is well appointed and there's a washer/dryer too. We'll be coming back this summer and next winter and I expect this place will become our 'go to' place. I enjoyed keeping the place warm with the wood burning stove. Do note, there is no internet and that while there is Verizon service (and possibly Sprint/T-Mobile too) there is no ATT service. The place comfortably sleeps a family of 4 and even 5 if someone sleeps on the living room couch.

    Aengus2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Steve is the nicest! The house is really cozy, clean and well located! It was easy to find everything around such as Yosemite National Park. The surroundings are also amazing and beautiful. Steve is someone interested in meeting people from everywhere, he is a very kind guy! He helped us find nice places to visit and ready to assist us every time.

    Natalia2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is not a place for someone expecting a polished hotel-lite experience. But, if good value, a great location, and wonderfully accommodating hosts rank highly, you've found your spot.

Beautiful chalet minutes from multiple lakes, skiing, great food, and golfing! Disconnect for a few nights as we have very limited cell reception (Verizon only) and NO WIFI :-) Don't worry, there's plenty of nature to keep you entertained! Great for small families who want piece and quiet during the night and to explore the trails and mountains during the day. Please recognize that this is a cabin in the woods and not a hotel so takes a little more work!
This cozy little cabin is perfect any time of year. In winter, head to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort just 5 minutes down the road, then cozy up by the fireplace. In summer, kayak and raft on any of the THREE nearby lakes and play in the water all day, or walk to a number of beautiful hikes. Enjoy the silence of the woods at night and breathe in the clean mountain air every morning, all year round. FYI: Both of the bedrooms are up a set of stairs so be sure your children are old enough to climb them safely.
This area is extremely peaceful and quiet with nature in every direction. There are very few people around but when you do encounter neighbors they are all very friendly and helpful! It's an ideal spot to get away from the chaos of life for a long weekend. Check out this site for gorgeous hiking trails nearby: (URL HIDDEN)
  • Location is difficult to find but perfect for a quiet get away. The house is neat, roomy, and it has everything. The fire place is definitely a nice touch for the family vibe. It can house so many more people than it listed cause of how spacious it is (though it only has one bathroom but it's okay.) Neighbors are nice and quiet. The drive to Yosemite valley is about two hours, which isn't bad at all. The only inconvenience is that there is no signal starting in the 15 mins drive radius for AT&T (and worst for T-mobile!) Yet we see it as part of the fun and what can make us bond better once we are in the house. Overall this is a perfect house for people who love a fun getaway, the wood and a vintage yet stylish interior for a cabin.

  • Very peaceful and serene. Easy 4 mile drive to Pinecrest lake. Friendly neighbors. The upstairs space is accessed from a steep ladder but there is also a pullout futon downstairs that sleeps two if you don't want to climb the ladder. Very clean space and a great deck for enjoying the outdoors. Would definitely stay here again. Adam was very responsive and gave you all the info you need to get there easily and get inside quickly, no hassle or difficulties during our stay. Loved it!

    Debbie2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Unless he cleans this place up I wouldn't go there. Mold in the shower, place was dirty, loft sucked, deck was filthy, no fan or air.. it was 95. Find something else!!!!

    Michael2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Adam's cabin is cute and cozy in a friendly neighborhood. His communication was accurate, clear, and he responded quickly even tho' he was out of the country. He really wanted us to have a good time at his place and I'm Yosemite. The ride to the Park usually took us almost an hour. It was lovely! The supply of firewood was more than adequate and we didn't touch the outdoor supply! All the supplies were more than adequate. We have a great time!

  • Nice small little cabin "cozy." Close to Dodge Ridge & Pinecrest, quiet area . Nice place if you just want to get away from everything

    Claire2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice quiet area with neighbors nearby. Cozy if you want get away from everything. There is no internet or reception in the cabin or surrounding area. The cabin is pretty far away from Yosemite Valley if you want to go there. Allegedly there is a shortcut to get there faster, but we didn't find it. All in all the cabin was as described and very lovely.

    Wesley2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Adam's place is so cute. My boyfriend and I had a great time here with our two small dogs. It was wonderful sitting on the porch and smelling the fresh mountain air. The neighbors are absolute sweethearts and this place is just 5 mins from Pinecrest Lake. We would definitely recommend this place if you want to get off the grid and relax.

Minutes from Pinecrest Lake Resort and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, is our recently remodeled cabin. Inside you will find a beautifully renovated industrial décor cabin with two cozy bedrooms, an upgraded kitchen, a spacious living room with a fireplace insert, flat screen TV, and a completely updated full bathroom. This beautiful cabin is located just minutes away from fishing, Lair of the Golden Bear camp, and many hiking trails that await you in the middle of the Stanislaus National Forest.
  • The cabin was beautiful and situated in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms were clean and we had a comfortable and pleasant stay. Please note that cell phone service may not be strong out in the woods. I had no internet/data all weekend--so be prepared to be off the grid! Overall, this was a great place to stay. If we are ever in the area again we would stay again.

  • We stayed here during the winter for snow play. The cabin is in a beautiful neighborhood and the streets were plowed constantly. It's only 6 miles south of Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and a few miles more to Leland High Sierra Snow Play. The cabin is bright and feels like you're in a tree house. My kids enjoyed the games provided and cable TV. We all actually enjoyed not having Wifi!

The Knotty Retreat is nestled in the high Sierra mountains, away from the hustle and bustle. The cabin is located in Cold Springs which is 5 minutes away a from Pinecrest Lake, 8 miles from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. WE ARE ONE OF THE FEW CABINS THAT OFFER WIFI !
Beautiful inviting cabin with 3 decks for lots of entertaining. Fire pit area with entertaining area. All decks are lit up with lights automatically nightly. Inside the cabin their are two bedrooms, loft/ gameroom and one and half bathrooms. Full kitchen with dishes and pans to cook with. We have a stocked Keurig so that you can enjoy a cup of joe or hot coco in the morning on the porch. Large gas barbecue located on the deck. Shower is amazing with great water pressure. Not to mention that the shower head feels like rain. There is a 4 beds total, 2 queen beds in the bedrooms, a full pull out couch in the loft and a leather futon in the first floor living room. The queen beds have 3 inch memory foam topper that make the beds so comfortable. The futon and pull our couch have featherbed to ensure the most restful night. All beds have bamboo sheets, bamboo pillows and down comforters. I have to say we love waking up in these beds. Everyone that has stayed at our cabin makes mention of how rested they feel.
  • I went up to this awesome cabin with my 4-year-old and my friend and her 4-year-old to for a weekend ski getaway at Dodge Ridge (really close by). The setup of the cabin couldn't have been better. After dinner, the boys played upstairs while the mamas sipped on wine at the dinner table downstairs. We made dinner in one night and grabbed yummy pizza from Mia's up the street the 2nd night. The cabin was cute, very cozy, clean and well equipped. The views from the windows and sliding glass doors of trees were lovely, especially when we woke on our last day to discover that it had snowed a lot! Gina and Keith were super responsive to our inquiries and called to see if we had any issues in the early evening after we arrived. They said they would come up if we had any issues, which gave me a peace of mind considering I was traveling in snowy conditions without my husband!

  • this was my first experience with airbnb. it could be better than this. in the K&G cabin you will find absolutely everything you might need for a pleasure journey and retreat. spaces are very well equipped, cozy, comfortable, silence, clean. full optional are also included. it was just a bit difficult to find it for me, as it's very hidden among many others beautiful places, but at the end, when you reach it, you will feel like at home. all my needing were satisfied. Per gli amici Italiani che vorranno scegliere questa meta, vi ho lasciato anche una moka da tre, che so quanto la desidererete stando negli states. portatevi soltanto il caff tostato e avrete tutto. Gina and Keith, you could do it better than this, the night lights all around the area were very useful too. a complete deep bath into clean nature, animals, silence and total relax. go on with this way, thanks for sharing this jewel with others.

    Daniele2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at K & G's place for our family of 5. Gina's hospitality was great as she is a great communicator and made sure we were set before our trip as well as the evening of our arrival. We were greeted with a tasty bottle of red wine upon our arrival which was a great touch. The cabin was super clean and the decor made it super cozy and relaxing. Our kids loved the air hockey table and the many movies to choose from. The beds were super comfortable as well. This is a great location, close to Dodge Ridge and Pinecrest Lake. I also loved that the house is in a court as the kids were able to ride their bikes safely on the street. We will definietly be comingback!

    Taylor2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say, Gina was easy to worth with, responsive to questions, and our stay in the Knotty Retreat was pretty awesome. The two night stay was relaxing, fun, and very comfortable. The cabin was clean, neat, well-equipped yet not overly cluttered. Beds were great! Outdoor fire pit is a great touch, and the wood burning stove really pumps out the heat! Will have to go back this winter to enjoy the snow!

    Matthew2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly located cabin. Avoided the crowds around the lake but still only 10 minutes away. Enjoyed the accessibility to food, gas, horseback riding, and paddle board rentals. The cabin itself was cozy and welcoming. The decks made us feel like we were sitting amongst the trees. At night when settling down, enjoyed a large selection of movies, air hockey, and card games. Gina and Keith have a wonderful place to call home for a couple of days. Would recommend to families looking for a few days away from civilization (as I think of it, coming from a big city) although you don't feel completely disconnected due to wifi which is not bad as I have two teenagers. Look forward to staying again but next time in the winter to experience the snow. A+ communication. Thanks again! Ed & Justine

  • I loved this place so much and it was such a home-y feel. They had every utensil, coffee maker, plenty of comforters and pillows and enough beds to sleep 4 people. It's one of the best houses I've been to and I enjoyed every single minute of it. :)

Beautiful mountain cabin near Dodge Ridge Ski area. Two bedroom, two bath, sleeps 6. Outside deck with table, BBQ. Fireplace, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave, coffee maker. No TV, cell phone reception spotty.
Nice open kitchen/living room/dining room space for families to hang out. Comfortable with up to six people.
Cold Springs is a small development off of highway #108 that is three miles from Pinecrest Lake. Also nearby access to two rivers. Store and gas station across the street. LOCATION IS NOT NEAR YOSEMITE!
  • The cabin is spacious and at a great location to Pinecreak Lake which is about 4 miles away. Gas station that opens from 6am-8:30pm across the street. The place has a blender, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, BBQ grill, deck, plates and lots of basic kitchen items. There is no tv and basic radio that does not have great reception and there is no internet. Also, you will be responsible to clean after your stay. I loved eating on the deck. It is so quiet and peaceful. Very relaxing. The place was fairly dusty so my allergies were acting up. The air is dry so bring a moisturizer.

  • Barbara responded to our inquiries promptly. We, two families of six, spent two nights in the cabin. It was a nice experience. The living area is very spacious. The kitchen is fully equipped and very functional. Our kids enjoyed playing snow on the big balcony. From the balcony, the view of the forest covered in snow was so beautiful. The cabin is very close (about 15 minutes) to the Dodge Ridge ski resort. Kids didn't have to get up too early to catch classes. After skiing, it was very relaxing sitting around the fireplace. The cabin also had very good heating although. We didn't have any luck to get cell signals. I guess it is common around the area. It might be a good thing to enable us to spend more time with each other. Overall, it was a quite nice experience for us. Thanks Barbara for hosting us.

  • Spent a long weekend there. We took the kids (3 and 5) up to dodge ridge for a ski weekend. The cabin was clean and comfy with a great fireplace. For those who care, there is actually Verizon service there, which doesn't really exist anywhere else in cold springs (been there a few times). Thanks Barbara!

This is a great large home perfect for a ski vacation. High ceilings and windows give the property a light and open feel, even in the winter months. The scenery is beautiful.
The neighborhood is very quiet, especially during the winter months. Most of the homes there a large and well kept properties.
  • The house was comfortable even with eight people, well equipped with basic supplies and equipment, and beautiful outdoor decking even with snow. Great location for skiing, within fifteen minutes to the slopes.

Quaint 1970's cabin located in Cold Springs, CA. Five minutes from Pinecrest, ten minutes from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. 3 bedroom, 1.5 baths, sleeps 8. Located in the middle of pine trees the view is fabulous.
Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort.
  • If you want to get away from the noise of the city, Casa de Amore fits the bill. Quiet with lovely mountain air. A quick drive to Pine Crest Lake or Dodge Ridge. If you want a quiet night with a movie, bring your own DVD. Nice big screen. Check out Mia's Woodbrick Pizza just up the highway. Heather communicates as needed via text. My only heads up is the upstairs loft bedroom has no door and the access to the upstairs bathroom is through that loft. (The bathroom has a door.) Good chance we will be back!

  • Great location near pine crest lake. The cabin was roomy and very comfortable. Tip- There is a trash dumping station near the pine crest lake visitor center but they charge to take garbage and they are only open during regular hours.

    Sriniwas2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was very helpful and communicative. Check-in and check-out were easy. We had no issues during our stay. The cabin and location fit our needs well, as we spent our days at a family camp just 5 minutes up the road. There were plenty of beds and the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable (downstairs bedroom was a little tight but worked fine for our group). The living room/dining room and kitchen are pretty small, but not unlike other cabins we've stayed in. We were a little worried about the lack of air conditioning because it was hot the week we were there, but the ceiling fans upstairs were powerful and cooled the rooms well. We did not cook at all while we were there, so I can't comment on anything in that regard. Food storage space was pretty minimal, but there is a full-size refrigerator. There were five of us and the house can sleep 6, but be aware that one of the bedrooms upstairs doesn't have a door. For us this was no problem because our kids were in that room, but just something worth knowing going in. Overall, a comfortable stay!

Nana's Nook is a wonderful get away cabin for everyone, located on a quiet dead-end street. It is a comfortable place to relax and get away the busyness of life. The deck is secluded with a Bar-B-Q ready for your use. It is a short drive to Pinecrest Lake and DodgeRidge. Hiking, fishing, gold towns and a casino are also nearby.
The large deck is the best part of Nana's Nook in the summertime. It looks out over trees. You hardly are aware there are other homes nearby. Morning coffee is wonderful on the deck.
Lassen Dr. is really the beginning of Kern Ct. This makes it a wonderful location with very little traffic. There are a couple of full time residence on our street, but it is usually very quiet.

  • We stayed at Nana's Nook and it was better then we expected! The cabin was adorable and the layout as soon as you walk thru the front door gave you a "home sweet home" feel. The rooms are a great size and the convenience of having a bathroom on both floor levels was perfect, especially with kids. The deck for being outdoors was very clean and we loved the feature of it wrapping around to the side of cabin to some stairs that lead to the fire pit down below.. This cabin is in a perfect location and a few minutes drive to Pinecrest. The cabin is tucked away with surrounding trees and the neighbors are very quiet which made our stay very relaxing and peaceful. The only thing we forgot was to bring hand towels but it wasn't an issue since we had paper towels. Julie has this cabin stocked with everything you need (but does suggest to bring sheets/pillows/towels) which was not a problem. You won't make a mistake by renting "Nana's Nook", Julie was an amazing host!

    Sarah2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a charming 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house which is very close to Pinecrest Lake. Julie has it decorated like a cabin in the woods! Beautiful quilts. She really has everything you need for the kitchen in the way of cookware, utensils, and plates. I took clean sponges and dish soap, but didn't need it. The outside deck really is nice and quiet. Propane grill worked well. It was no bother to take our own bed sheets and bath towels. I would have loved to stay a few extra days. Maybe next time.

Cozy private room with a queen bed (temper-pedic mattress). All bed linens and towels provided.
Cold Springs is a small development off of highway #108 that is three miles from Pinecrest Lake and 7 miles to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Store and gas station on highway #108
  • It was a big pleasure to stay with Brittany and family. The family was very kind and helpful and welcomed us with open arms. We stayed for two nights, but we could have spent much longer time there. The surroundings are just amazing. At night we layed in the hammock on the terrace watching stars and in daytime we took a very nice hike around the beatiful Pinecrest Lake only 10 minutes drive away. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Hopefully we will have an opportunity to return again. We highly recommend this place. Charlotte & Rune

  • Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful experience staying with Brittany and her family. The place is as described, a private room with a comfy bed, and a bathroom right across the hall. You are able to converse as much or as little as you want. The first night we had a great conversation by the fire with Steve but on the second we were so beat from snowboarding we called it in early and they were very respectful about noise, its like they weren't even there. (Hard to do with an adorable 2 1/2 year old but Hannah is very sweet and a professional) ;) They were life savers on this snowy trip for us! Brittany gave us a heads up before we began traveling to make sure we had chains, and Steve spent nearly an hour helping my boyfriend get them on in the morning and dig us out of the snow. They told us the night before that we should put them on then, so they're ready to go in the morning.. (which we didn't lol) Word of advice: listen to their advice! They really went above and beyond helping us out of our little snow in and we're extremely grateful. Other than that, location is very close to Dodge and Pinecrest, and absolutely gorgeous after a fresh snowfall.

  • Staying at Brittany's house is a perfect way to disconnect... literally. You can turn off your devices and enjoy the forest, the trees, the silence and how confortable this wooden house is. Brittany was very welcoming, made us feel a part of this place. If your into hiking, there are dozens of trails in the Emigrant Wilderness around -like this wonderful segment of the PCT which starts at the Sonora Pass- Great experience.

  • This cabin was the perfect location for our getaway. Easy access to all the nearby attractions. The room and bed were very comfortable and provided a private warm place to relax to ourselves. If you wanted to chat with the hosts or play with their daughter, or just relax in the living room- you could do that too. Brittany and her family were extremely kind and gracious hosts. They went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. They had great tea for us to enjoy and provided great conversation. We can consider their adorable daughter Hannah a close friend now and hope to see them all soon. We will be sure to be visiting them again!

  • Brittany and her husband are awesome hosts. My boyfriend and I stayed at their cabin due to its close proximity to Dodge Ridge, and we received tons of local tips about navigating the mountain, parking, and dinner spots. Brittany is super responsive and gave me and my boyfriend recommendations on food & grocery options for the drive up from the Bay. Lastly, you'll likely meet their adorable daughter Hannah if you stay with them. She's as friendly as her parents are and eager to make new friends. Highly recommend :)

  • Staying with Brittany and her family in Long Barn had to be one of the best weekends Austin and I have ever had! They were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The view from from our warm and cozy room was lovely and the one from the balcony was breath taking. After spending and entire day on Dodge ski resort we came home to clean and comfy home with great company, who gave us tons of suggestions as to restaurants and fun activities in the area. It was strange not being connected to the internet or smart phones 24/7 but it forced us to interact with humans and come outside our small bubble. Turns out we made really good friends with our hosts and we cant wait to visit them again! I highly recommend them :)

  • We had a wonderful time staying at the Ski Dodge Ridge-Room. The place was very clean, tidy and comfortable. Pity that we didn't get to meet Brittany though. Her husband, Steve was there to welcome and host us. He is very accommodating and we chatted a lot over tea by the fireplace.

  • Brittany is an excellent hostess! My new husband and I booked her cabin as one of our honeymoon destinations to check out nearby scenic places, including Yosemite. She is on top of communication at all times; she responds quickly if you have questions about booking, the area, things to do / eat, and more, whether you've arrived or haven't arrived yet. The room is the perfect size for two people and the bathroom is right across the hall, which you get all to yourself. I really appreciated this destination because it has a washer and dryer. That's really important on a 3 week vacation. Overall, this is the perfect quiet, cabin getaway location!

Small cozy cottage near Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge ski resort. Full kitchen, dishwasher, one bedroom, one bath, also futon couch. Cable TV. Dogs welcome!
Very small little cabin behind what used to be La Morenita Mexican restaurant, and before that the Lumbermans Cafe. Think HGTV Tiny House Hunters without the wheels! This cabin is for people who want to be as close as possible to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge ski resort without paying the higher prices at the two small resorts that are usually booked for winter weekends and the summer. It's very cute, the kitchen is complete with full size appliances. The bedroom has a full size bed/twin on top bunk bed and a full size futon in the living area. It is very very convenient and within just minutes to everything the Pinecrest area has to offer!
We are a little over two miles to Pinecrest Lake and another three miles to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. We are centrally located to take advantage of all the Sierras has to offer, skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, lake lounging, Yosemite (90 miles) and once the Sonora Pass opens, a spectacular drive to the Pacific Crest Trail and Hwy 395.
  • Although we never had the chance to meet Steve and Gail the cottage was perfect! It was exactly what we were looking for in our weekend away! Thank you so much Steve and Gail! We appreciate your hospitality.

  • My boyfriend and I loved visiting Pinecrest. The cabin we stayed in was small and cozy. Steve met us upon arrival and was very cool and welcoming. He answered any questions we had and recommended places to go. We were just up the road from Pinecrest Lake. Totally worth the hike. Beautiful scenery. We forgot we were in California.

  • Steven and Gail were very nice and very flexible on check-in and out. The kitchen is well stocked and was great for cooking in. It's a small space but we were quiet cozy!

  • We had a wonderful time visiting this adorable cabin! Steve and Gail are excellent hosts. The communication was so helpful when we were driving up there in the snow and concerned about roads. The cabin is small but has everything you need. They had left all kinds of thoughtful items in there for us to make sure we had a great time, and even something for our 2 year old! Very convenient to dodge ridge ski resort, and Pinecrest lake. And right next to Mia's restaurant with excellent pizza, which head a nice bonus! We had a great time exploring the area and will definitely be back!

  • Nice little place, hosts were kind and thoughtful. The unit was a bit chilly in the morning, but overall very comfortable. Hosts were nice to leave a stocked kitchen incl. a bottle of wine. Very conveniently located on 108 and close to dodge ridge.

  • We had a good stay at Steve and Gails place! Located next to a restaurant and nothing else it's a quite unique experience. The little cottage we stayed in was nice and had everything we needed. Steve and Gail were very generous hosts, we even got a bottle of wine when we arrived. They were very nice and we hade a nice conversation on our first night there, sitting by the open fire. We also really enjoyed the hot tub. The nature is nice there and we went on an amazing hike around the lake, make sure you visit Cleos bath where you can swim in small waterfalls!

  • Steve and Gail were some of the most accommodating hosts that I have encountered. They were extremely knowledgable about the local area and were happy to go out of their way to make our stay amazing! The facilities were awesome with a hot tub and a fire pit, and the bedroom comfortable. It was a shame that we couldn't stay longer and we would definitely stay again. Thank you!!

  • Pretty much exactly what you think of when you consider an overnight stay at a ski cabin. Convenient and easy to find, it fit our needs perfectly. The bottle of wine and cookies were a nice touch. Thanks Gail and Steve.
