  • The Love Shack was one of the best places ive stayed at! We were there for one night but I would recommend more than one so there is enough time to relax on the property and go hiking in the area! The kitchen is stocked with basically everything and we really enjoyed cooking and relaxing in the jacozzi!

  • Our family of four enjoyed a lovely weekend at the Love Shack Getaway cabin. It is comfortable and clean and in a great location for exploring Mount Rainier. Since it's not too far from our home in Portland we hope to return some day. One thing to note that may not be in the description is that access to the upstairs is via a narrow and steep staircase with a loose rope handrail that might not be good for those with mobility or stability issues.

    Sarah2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cabin. Nice amenities. Went in the off season and had the neighborhood to ourselves.

    Brian2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate in everything. We love our stay here and would definitely recommend it to people who are looking for short stay around Mt Rainier. Everything was made ready/accessible to us upon arrival. We really appreciate Love Shack for the effort! The neighborhood was great! Quiet and enjoyable.

  • We stayed at the Loveshack for a weekend--it was incredible! The space was so well used and cozy--it had everything we needed! We did a nice day trip to Packwood Lake and Packwood itself was so cute. Highly reccomend.

  • We really enjoyed our stay! It's close proximity to the national park and restaurant in town is a definite plus. Would love to stay here again!

  • We spent Christmas at the Bunkhouse and had a great time. I was worried it would be too crowded with a large group of adults, but actually it was quite spacious. The dining table looks regular-sized in the photos but was actually huge. We cooked up a big Christmas feast and found the kitchen was very well equipped. The walk Christy suggested along the river was beautiful. We would definitely recommend this to friends.

  • This was a great place to stay. We were on our honeymoon. It is good for family's or a couple just trying to get away. There were dear in the morning. It was a beautiful getaway.

  • We had a great time at this spot! We had never been to Mt Rainier and will certainly be back, it is super gorgeous and we even got to play around in the snow on Sunday. Highly recommended!

    Ryan2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great. Exactly as it looks, maybe even better. Don't hesitate to stay here!

    Eric2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time hot tubbing and walking on the river. Good kitchen with plenty of tools. We didn't make use of the fire pit, but there was plenty of wood provided. Remember to bring a headphone type audio cable for the sound system. Hope to come back for a longer stay.

    Don2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location!!! You can't get any closer to the southwest entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park. The bunkhouse is well appointed for large families (if the kids all "bunk" together downstairs), who like to eat together, sit by a lovely camp fire, and take a dip in the hot tub. There is also a very large indoor jacuzzi upstairs as well. The only thing I really missed was a cozy place to sit by the fire. The futon couches were more oriented to the TV, and there is no coffee or end table to even put a drink on, so we had to get creative. That area is really oriented towards additional sleeping, rather than comfortable sitting. But there is a nice gas stove on the other end of the room, which kept the entire house nice and warm. So it is fine for a few days hiking in Rainier, and I understand there is a lovely river walk right at the end of the street (you are in a close knit neighborhood), though we didn't have time to fully enjoy it on this trip.

    Laura2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Buchanan's Bunkhouse was perfect! Christy was very helpful with all the information we needed. The beds were very comfortable, the house was charming and hot tub was amazing after a cold hike. Thanks again Christy!

    Stacy2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin tucked right at the base of Rainier National Park. Enough room for our entire group of 15 for the weekend. Christy was very accommodating and informative and made the process very easy!!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Vine Maple House. The house was pretty much walking distance to the entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park which worked out perfectly for us to spend two full days exploring the park. Tammi provided all the information we needed from the get-go: directions, key code, and wifi code. She also provided very helpful tips for hiking, dining, and activities. The house was clean and homey and just as described. The private hot tub in back of the house was perfect for soaking after hiking around the mountain all day.

    Kim2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is in a great location right near the national park entrance. The hot tub is also a great way to unwind after a long day hiking.

    Claire2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent choice!! One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in!!

    Barbara2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little cabin right at the entrance of Mt Rainier National Park. Tammi was able to accommodate our toddler with a high chair too. Cabin is best for one family only as the sleeper couch may not be best for longer stay. Beautiful yard with hammock that wasn't shown in the pictures. New kitchen, bathroom and hot tub (!) are great amenities to have for a retreat away from the city.

    Angela2017-07-29T00:00:00Z

Enjoy this family cabin in the foothills of Mt. Rainier, located just outside the Nisqually entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. It's a short walk to the glacially-fed Nisqually River, where you can stroll along the levee. Enjoy everything Mt.Rainier has to offer and come back to a peaceful retreat at the end of the day.
The cabin is modest but warm and inviting, with an open common room featuring a wood stove, as well as a kitchen and large dining table. Also downstairs is a TV room with pull-out futon, full bath, and private bedroom with queen bed. Upstairs, you'll find a large common loft with four single beds, as well as a private suite with two connected sleeping spaces, one with a double bed and one with a child's bed, and a half bath. Outdoors there is a picnic table and fire pit. The hot tub is a bit quirky to use but works great and is easily accessed on the back porch, with fencing for privacy. Wood for the fire pit and/or wood stove is on the porch, or use the electric heat in case you don't wish to use the wood stove. The kitchen has a small oven with stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, sink, and all the basics you'll need for cooking and eating, including a coffee pot and wine glasses. We provide towels and linens for beds. There is also a small washer and dryer in the utility room.
Riversong Retreat is located in the small, wooded community of Nisqually Park, just outside the Nisqually entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. Most homes in the neighborhood are used for vacation getaways. The neighborhood road is paved.
  • Amazing location close to Mt. Rainier. Great communication from the hosts. The house is very clean. Quiet area and close to where we wanted to be. Perfect for a family! There were toys and games for the kids to play with. The fire pit was nice to sit by. Would love to stay here again!

    Meg2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Went down to this very lovely cabin for a weekend with friends and highly recommend it. It was even nicer than we'd hoped it could be! Spacious enough for all of us to be together in the main kitchen/dining/fireplace area without feeling crowded. The hot tub fit 5 of us comfortably, would be a little cozier for more people, but super clean, and adjustably hot. The beds were comfortable, with warm comforters. Cozy fireplace, well equipped kitchen with a blender, coffee maker, big cast iron skillet, and enough utensils to make a nice meal for many people. All my friends who traveled with me are looking forward to planning a repeat trip here! And for location, it is basically right outside the gates of Mount Rainier National Park. Completely awesome!

    Alice2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! The common space was very updated, the hot tub comfortably accommodated 6 adults and the big table was great for meals together. There were some fun board games to choose from as well which we really enjoyed. Communication was great from the host. I'd highly recommend staying here!

    Kate2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is just dynamite! A great location right next to the entrance to Mt Rainier and just as cozy as you want a cabin to be.

    Megan2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts are very responsive and helpful. Cabin is up to date with amenities and is very cozy. My kids especially liked some of the board games available. Cabin is near the entrance to the park and a nice walking trail along the river is steps away from the cabin.

  • This home was in a PERFECT location - very close to the entrance of the park, and a very short walk down to the river, where we took the kids to play. The space was beautiful and there were tons of bedrooms for our large group. We also really enjoyed the hot tub!

Path to Paradise is just that , 1 mile to the entrance to Mt Rainier's National Park. This charming cabin is clean , warm cozy ! Kitchen is ready for making an entire meals or BBQ on the deck. Full size modern bathroom is complete with all your toiletries. The log post style bed in this charming cabin style bedroom has wonderful sun lite windows provide garden and forest views. Surrounded by Giant forest trees lovely Gardens and picnic area with a unique custom fire pit .
  • Location so close to the national park entrance is awesome! You don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to snag a parking spot at Paradise (though you should still get going fairly early). The deck on the back is lovely. Note that this is right on the main road, but most cabins in the area seem to be, and the noise was low. Our only complaint is that the cabin would work best for only two people, and two people who are willing to share the double bed. I tried to sleep on the futon couch and found it extremely uncomfortable. Otherwise -- lovely.

  • We had a very nice time. Room was clean, quiet and nice setting. The hot tub was in a beautiful outdoor room and was the perfect way to relax after snowshoeing.

  • The location of this lode was good, and it was a cute feel but the TV in the room did not work at all, and it was just very small and old and musty.

    Natasha2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • It is a wonderfull place, warm welcome and feeling home so far away from home. Beautiful environment and perfect location to start a visit to Mount Rainier.

  • Kavitha was a very kind and welcoming host. She was very quick to get us settled into our room after a long day. At first glance the Victorian style building is very pretty especially with the scenery surrounding. We enjoyed our perfectly sized room, comfortable bed, plenty of movies to watch and hot tub before bed. Also, my girlfriend and I are both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant attached to the Inn and we had great experiences with good food. I would definitely stay here again on any trip to Mt. Rainier or White Pass.

    Torrey2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Alexander's Lodge is comfortable and clean, a homey place to stay. We had a great time cross country skiing on the Mt Tahoma trails during the day.

Our ugly little bunkhouse has seen many a friend and relative. It has 1 BR, bathroom, kitchenette, LR w/dining area and DVD. The space is incomplete and rough, but functional and professionally cleaned. Close, close, close to Mt Rainier! This is a self check in unit. Lockbox code is available after booking through airbnb.
One bedroom with queen bed, kitchenette which boasts a small full sized fridge and electric hot plate with confection oven/microwave for eating in or leftovers, full bathroom with shower (no tub), and living space with a futon that folds down to a double allowing room for a cozy two people, a cot and plenty of room for additional sleeping bags/blow up mattresses (not supplied). The heat is electric, no fireplace or woodstove in the bunkhouse. The wood pictured is for the main house. This space is rough and ready, but in the process of finish work. It is good enough for my daughter, parents, and best friend to be comfortable; but the price is based on ugly factor. Bon fire pit available when fire ban is not enforced, please let us know ahead of time if this interests you. Horse shoes are also available in the back.
We are 5 minutes from Mt Rainier entrance, hiking, fishing, and sheer beauty are just minutes away. Please note that some places may require NW pass or Discovery passes which are available at the local mini store. NW Trek is 30 minutes away. Horse rentals and canoe rentals 15 minutes up the road. So much to do!
  • All is good! Thank you!

  • Perfect for what we needed. There was more restaurants in area then we were expecting. Hooray. The bunkhouse was actually nicer than the pictures, which was awesome. It's perfect if you're going to Mt. Rainier.

  • We spend very little time in Angels's bunkhouse, but everything was as described. We got in late after a day at Mt. Rainier and got on the road super early. We met Angela's husband as we were getting in and he was super friendly. The location was top notch and finding it was super easy. You really can't beat the price!

    Drew2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Angela is very accessible by email. The lodging is as described. It was clean and a nice place to stay as it is super close to Rainier. The kitchen is as described (hot plate and microwave only) so if you like to make big meals, do not stay here- otherwise, it is fine for snacks, premade meals, etc. It is very quiet which is great and a great launching pad for Rainier daytrips from the Longmire entrance. Oh and you can play horseshoes right out back! and parking is not a problem.

    Lori2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for making Rainier affordable. The location was perfect for day hiking into the park. It may be a work in progress but the place was clean and quiet. Make sure you eat at the Wildberry restaurant for some great Himalayan food.

  • Wonderful accommodations, even better than described. Room was spacious and the property lovely. Kavitha was very easy to get in touch with and highly responsive. About as close as you can get to the park entrance. Highly recommend!

  • Perfect location to explore Mt. Ranier. The staff was extremely friendly and competent. We enjoyed our stay although the room was a bit noisy with the sounds of other travelers.

    Lynn2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This little lodge was a great place to stay for someone who wanted to explore Mt.Rainier but is very reticent to do that by embracing the 'roughing-it' life style. This was a quiet room with a very nice grounds around the lodge. The park entrance is very near and easy to find.

    Anya2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the Alexander's Lodge. The surroundings are incredible and Mount Rainier is only a few minutes away. Very easy to find, I was afraid that it would be hard to reach (was driving at night from the airport in Tacoma and had no difficulties at all). A lot of parking spaces which is really nice. It was incredibly peaceful, thank you! The only problem we had was with the wi-fi in our room. It was perfectly working in the common areas but for some reason it wasn't working very well in the room - which is fine if you want to have a getaway away from technology but it was inconvenient at times. Thank you!

    Miriam2016-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • don't expecting this place like most of AirB&B place which has microwave and refrigerator.

    Steven2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place was cute and quaint, staff was friendly, and the waffles in the morning were delicious.

    Danielle2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Alexander's Lodge and restaurant is conveniently located close to the park entrance and is across the street from a nice restaurant. The complementary breakfast is quite nice. The building is not accessible. At night there are no lights in the lobby area and stairwells. There is no elevator. Also, we found two ants and sugar spilled near the dirty coffee pot in our room. Given more attention to cleanliness I would come back.

  • We just came from a stay at the fabulous River House! What a treasure. It's right on a small river so you can hear the trickling sounds of water whilst lying in the hammock looking up at the plentiful, beautiful trees surrounding the property and on the mountains in the distance. The cabin has all the amenities you could ask for and is truly special. Our kids loved the bunkbed and running down to splash in the water. We would definitely return to this place.

  • Tammi's River House is an absolute gem. We loved every minute of our stay. The property is amazing and very convenient for visiting Mt. Rainier national park. The house was charming and very comfortable. It had everything we needed and more.

    Maureen2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great views from the house and hot tub! Clean house and exactly as described in this description.

    Timothy2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 2 night stay at the River Cabin, both queen size beds were comfortable. The cabin is located right next to a small river/large stream and was very peaceful. Cabin was well maintained, clean and had plenty of towels and supplies. The cabin was easier to find than I expected and is a short drive away from a couple of restaurants. I would stay there again if I was in the area.

  • Beautiful view. Quiet. Enjoyed the hammock under the giant trees!

    Amy2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Location is secluded on the bank of a river. Slight river view from the house. Nice fire pit and hammock to relax by. The kind of place you move in, hang out, enjoy. Not a lot in the area for food and groceries, Ashford is a small town, so I would advise to bring what you need. 15 min to Mt. Rainer Nisqually entrance and Gifford Pinchot National forest. Host is very helpful to guide you through the area.

  • Our family of five adults had a couple of busier travel days and were feeling a little frazzled. Arriving at the River House just made it all go away. The cabin is clean, roomy and well-equipped and the setting is peaceful and beautiful. The hot tub, hammock and fire pit all provide soothing options for calm and relaxation. Very close to the park entrance, yet secluded and private. Highly recommend for a stay at Mt. Rainier!

So close to Mt Rainier! Our simple 2 bedroom, 1 bath 'cabin" has: full bathroom, kitchen, LR, diningroom for 6 and DVD. A laundry room w/ W/D as well! Nothing fancy, but always cleaned professionally. Sm area for your outdoor ONLY dog. This is a self check in unit. Lockbox code is available after booking through airbnb.
Two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and twin bed. The second has a double with rocking chair and lamp for quiet reading. Hide a bed sofa and cot available as well. Need a crib? Pack and play is stored in the closet! Kitchen which boasts an 1950s range (imperfect but works), full sized fridge with cedar shelf (our son broke the glass one so we made a custom one:)) and microwave for eating in or leftovers. Plenty of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, ect for cooking. Full bathroom with 4 ft clawfoot tub/handheld shower head (iron stained), antique dresser made vanity, and simple toilet. Living space with plenty of room for additional sleeping bags/blow up mattresses (not supplied). Also, TV/DVD in the living space, no cable, dish or the like. WIFI is a yes! cell signal is a no-go sometimes, so be prepared. The heat is electric, but if the power goes out no generator here! Woodstove big enough to warm the whole cabin and cook on to boot IF NEEDED. You fill the wood racks on the porch from the shed and keep warm and full. This is our family space when we want to get out of town and chill. It is not perfect, but we enjoy our quiet time in this peaceful cabin.
  • Great stay!

    Shamra 2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was in an ideal location located 5-10 minutes outside the park entrance, 2 bedrooms with 3 beds offered lots of space, and Angela provided wood to build a fire in their awesome fireplace. The description of basic cabin is accurate - showering was challenging as the head was hand held and there was no curtain so just be aware of that. Overall very pleased with our stay!

    Sarah2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was as described by host. It was clean, had everything you would need. The beds are comfy and bedding as well. No surprises, we had a great weekend!

    Sally2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The description is perfect, just a simple cabin but is a nice place and is quiet and very comfortable. We stayed three days and we didn't have any problem. All was clean, everything worked properly, and the wifi is very fast! Incredible in a place in that location. Just only one little thing, we didn't find the horseshoes, but this is not important. The location is excellent for visiting Mount Rainier and enjoy Paradise. We can't meet Angela, but she always answered quickly all the questions that we had and give us clear instructions.

    Daniel2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay Angela's cabin was beautiful. The weather was overcast and misty, and we didn't get a glimpse of the mountain all weekend, but the cabin made up for it. We usually camp when we go to Mt. Rainier national park but this time decided to stay at the cabin. It's got all the amenities you could ask for (from extra linens to coffee in the morning, to a water cooler) and the pantry is full of anything else that you may need to refill during your stay. The books and board games, and ambience of the place (with pictures and artificats tastefully placed) will keep you engaged no matter what the weather is outside. On top of all that, it's got decent wifi and netflix etc. set up on the TV - if you wanted some of that instead. The outside is serene and the park entrance is just a couple of miles away (maybe even less). Nearby restaurants (Copper Creek Inn and Wild berry) are wonderful too - we have dined at those places multiple times. Overall, delighted with the cabin and would go back again!

  • Excellent location and value. Clear instructions from the host

    Oli2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here here with my husband, 2 kids (8&10) and my sister and brother in law to attend a nearby wedding. All slept comfortably. It is VERY quiet here and the view of the stars is incredible on a clear night. Minor issue on arrival, but the host was VERY quick to fix. Would stay here again just to star gaze.

    Jeanette2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We did not meet the owners, but they were very good with communication and it was easy to access the house. Great location for seeing Mt. Rainier. Quiet except for some odd outside noise during the day. We assumed it was some kind of business--maybe from logging? It's not terribly loud though. Beds were fine. The couch is only good on one side. Wi-Fi was surprisingly fast for a place out in the country. We had everything we needed to prepare food and it was great to be able to wash clothing since we had already been away from home for 2 weeks by the time we got to this house. Our only real issue was with the tub/shower. It is not a pleasant experience trying to hold a shower head in one hand while the shower current sucks in on your body. I think it could also be dangerous for an older person or a short person trying to get in and out of the claw foot tub. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would recommend it.

    Just a simple cabin

A beautiful cabin in a secluded neighborhood close to mount rainier national park. The cabin has tons of privacy, a hot tub, sauna, wood stove and wifi. The cabin has been listed on VRBO for two years now (619979) with great reviews. You'll love it.
Privacy and convenient location for visiting Mount Rainier.
The cabin is part of the Paradise Estate community in Ashford. It's a quiet neighborhood with some permanent residence but mostly vacation homes for people living in the Seattle and Tacoma areas.
  • Great little cabin and very close to Mt Rainier. We really enjoyed it!

    Alicia2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was awesome and cute! Just what we were looking for.

  • Luke & Amelia's cabin is truly lovely, nestled in the woods. It's quiet, yet only 5 minutes from Ashford where you will find a small general store and a few restaurants. The weather wasn't great during our stay and a top-tip for other guests - the wood burner will be your best friend to warm up the cabin - a couple of hours will warm the whole place, including the upstairs bedroom beautifully. The entrance to Mt Rainier national park is about a 10 minute drive. Luke & Amelia's communication before & during our stay was excellent - they were great hosts.

    Mark2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Luke & Amelia's comfortable, rustic cabin. We had a small mixup at check in which was remedied immediately and we were able to settle right in. The cabin is tucked away at the end of the cul de sac, and the minute you pull in the driveway you feel totally secluded. While cell service is limited (yeah!!) the wifi was fast and we were able to stream the Bronco game easily. The cabin is well equipped for cooking, tons of pots and pans and a nice grill on the deck. The bed in the loft is very comfortable and we had no trouble with the wood stove warming the whole place with just a couple logs. The location is perfect, just a few minutes from Mt Rainier NP and the town of Ashford, which has a couple restaurants and stores if you need anything. The hot tub is clean and very private. We had a great time!

  • Our stay at Luke & Amelia's place was very nice. Close enough to Mt. Rainier. Hot tub was great.

  • This was a perfect little cabin for a weekend retreat! I booked this as a surprise getaway for my boyfriend's birthday and was pleased to see it was even better than the pictures provided. The bed was super comfortable and even though you are close to a road, it was very quiet outside and still felt like we were fairly secluded. My boyfriend also loved the extensive climbing book collection (that was a nice little bonus I wasn't aware of!) The cabin was stocked with anything you could possibly need aside from the food itself. We both agreed we would love to stay here again next time we take a trip to Mt. Rainier!

    Megan2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was really close to Mt Rainier and the directions Luke sent out made finding the place easy. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the fully stocked kitchen supplies! Luke was a very responsive host and we had everything we needed. The bed was comfy and the wood stove was perfect. Only one tiny drawback, you could hear the cars passing by on the nearby street with the windows open. Other than that it was a perfect stay!

    Jackie2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at this property. It is in a wonderful location if you are planning on going to Mount Rainier. It was also nice after a long day to be able to come home and relax in the hot tub.

Alexander's is 1 mile away from Mt Rainier National Park Nisqually park entrance. It was built in 1912 and has a history. Onsite restaurant makes it easy for big groups. The onsite trout pond provides a beautiful view and the fish can be fed with the food from gift shop. Great room of around 800 sq ft with gas fireplace perfect for groups of up to 50 guests. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
