Zoo
“Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo is fun for visitors of all ages, but particularly exciting for kids. The grounds are large, so wear walking shoes and plan on at least a half-day to see everything. There are cafes and restaurants inside the zoo, but you are welcome to bring your own food and drink inside, too. The zoo has an excellent blog featuring lots of pictures of their animals, especially newborns, baby gorilla, girraff, penguin chicks, and lion cubs. There's a petting zoo and farm area near the front, and feedings and shows throughout the day — the raptor show is particularly impressive. A free smartphone app allows you to plan your day and make the most of your visit. In summer, the zoo offers a popular concert series called Zoo Tunes, and in fall's Zoo Doo contest, locals actually enter a lottery to win animal manure for composting. Only in Seattle”

“They have half a dozen egg omelettes and a dozen egg omelettes and were featured on Man vs. Food! They're also one of the rare restaurants in Seattle open 24/7! It's been one of my favourite breakfast spots ever since I moved to Seattle.”

Caribbean Restaurant

“Bongos is a newer place and a surprisingly good addition to Greenlake. Carribean food in a casual environment. It is a bit tricky to get across if you aren't familiar with it but there is an underpass walk to cross H-99 near the south parking lots at Greenlake, approx around 62nd St. (or you can cross at Winona Ave which is a bit farther up.)”

Coffee Shop

“Amazing small-batch coffee just a 10 minute walk away. One of our favorite ways to wake up on a lazy day. There's even a small selection of kids toys and books. But don't expect a Starbucks-like menu -- they only do pour overs and lattes. Try the deconstructed espresso. You won't regret it.”

Mexican Restaurant

“Delicious Mexican food and some of the best taco salad I've ever had. There's something for everyone here ranging from meat dishes to vegan dishes and everything in between. You wouldn't believe how great the food is when looking at how cheap the prices are. It gets crowded on Friday nights and weekends so going earlier is a good idea on those days. Open until midnight so good for a late night meal!”
