The Balinese-style villa called The Pavilion at the Manu Reserve is hidden among 30 acres of lush tropical Rain Forest in Hatillo, just 10 minutes from Dominical on Costa Rica's Central Pacific Coast.
The main Pavilion features a simplistic but elegant design and houses the kitchen the main living and dining area and a separate master bedroom under one iron wood shingled roof. Right next to it is a separate sleeping pavilion with its two symmetrical bedrooms and two bathrooms. The whole compound is rented always together and is furnished with woven rattan ceilings, cream colored coralina stone floors, louvered windows and carved Batavia furniture. The incredible balance of sand, sea and mountains makes Dominical a destination worth traveling to. It has clockwork sunsets with a fiery glaze, and dark volcanic sands that warm the ocean to balmy temperatures. Moments away from the beach are pools of fresh water and natural waterfalls that cascade down the mountainside. Dominical lays on the Southern Pacific Ocean and is bordered to the north by the Río Barú, a freshwater river that runs from the mountains into the ocean. creating a rushing current that you can find and track as you walk along the beach. To the east 3000-foot mountains create a cloud forest, and to the south dark volcanic ash creates coffee colored beaches and coves. Since the main part of the town of Dominical is set slightly back from the beach, it seems to magically disappear as you drift into the water, leaving only the tall beach palms and mangroves surrounded by fertile green hills to guide you along the coastline. The international surfing community has known Dominical Costa Rica for many years. It became a destination in the early seventies by a group of spirited and dedicated surfers, and because of its consistently good waves Dominical has steadily gained in popularity over the last 30 years. The town has become a haven for surfers, with local restaurants offering “Starving Surfer” specials and nonstop surf videos. The unusual conditions of the beach give the surf its size, dependability and the gentle run off and white water splash that also make it perfect for learning. The wave is a beach break with a twist that originates from the mouth of the Río Barú to the north. The river empties out of the mountains to the east and deposits sediments that form into a sand bar that spreads like a pair of sleepy rabbit ears north and south of the mouth. Only recently have people discovered and been attracted by its natural beauty. Not more than fifteen years ago the only buildings to be found were a few dilapidated fishing huts built by local fishermen. Since then the town has grown to over 700 permanent residents with a number of small beachfront restaurants, bars and cabins. Even with the emergence and growth of the town, it is possible to walk from one end of Dominical to the other in less than ten minutes. The area surrounding Dominical, especially to the south, is almost completely unpopulated. Because of this, the area is full of hundreds of different species of exotic animals including; three different types of toucans, giant green and red iguanas, all four types of native monkeys, parrots of all sizes and hues, three toed sloths and various small cats such as jaguarondis and montegordos. There are two national reserves (Hacienda Baru) in the immediate area, and three more only an additional hour and a half away (Manuel Antonio National Park, Corcovado National Park and Caño Island National Preserve) . To the south is the country’s underwater national park, Marino Ballena. Here it is possible to see a pristine underwater world with scores of multi-colorful marine creatures, coral reefs and jagged, ash black, volcanic rocks and tide pools. In a country full of beautiful views, lush landscapes, tropical attractions, and cloud forests, Dominical has the perfect balance between walking on soft sand or hiking along fresh water streams.
  • Gorgeous and well appointed home. It is secluded so you will be driving a fair amount to go anywhere and get supplies. Your are at the top of a mountain so expect to see parrots, tucans, and numerous other birds, but no "wildlife" i.e. monkeys. The house is gorgeous and the pool amazing. A BBQ for us Canadians would be handy (we did leave a small charcoal one behind). Randy and our cleaning lady were fantastic.

  • This place is as amazing as it looks! This incredible property combined with the excellent assistance of the caretaker/concierge/local wildlife expert/optional private chef Rodney and owner Alexandar, made this one of those rare listings and trips that exceeded my expectations. The amazing local wildlife (Tucans, Coati, Frogs and Iguanas to name just a few!) made hanging around the house and the pool for our writing retreat an even greater pleasure. Also for those concerned by previous reviews, the safety measures have been improved and we had no issues. I only hesitate to leave this review because I don't want to spoil this remote treasure and hope to return!

  • You will not be disappointed visiting the Ballena Coast first of all, least of all the Hatillo-Dominical area. Secluded gorgeous beaches, secondary and primary rainforest, lots of cafes, restaurants and local sodas to choose from for dining or treat yourself to Rodney's cooking at home if you're not in the mood to cook for yourself. If you want to learn to surf, or exercise your existing passion, the surfing conditions, scene and schools of learning for adults AND kids abound in Dominical. Beds are very comfortable as well air-conditioning in the bedrooms not that you need it for the natural breeze. Well outfitted kitchen including fantastic blender for all important morning tropical smoothies. Alex the owner was very responsive with communications including quick responses when needed - and Rodney the caretaker of the Villas was beyond helpful with all things Villa and things to do and see and eat in the area. Overall a very high quality holiday rental listing that goes well beyond expectations.

  • The house is a work of art finely designed in an authentic Bali style complete with beautifully landscaped grounds. It has the most stunning views of sunsets over the ocean from the back deck and swimming pool, I could have spent 4 days just watching the changing scenery and cloudscapes. The house is beautifully fitted-out with everything you could wish, and the free WiFi worked very well for the duration. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and the living space is ample.

  • Absolutely loved it. Rodney was great, kind, helpful, accommodating! Very prompt in meeting us to show us the home! Beautiful sunsets, great infinity pool, spacious. Being among the rainforest: toucans, green parrots, monkeys, hummingbirds, and monkeys was an out of this world experience! We stayed here with our young family and it was absolutely perfect!

  • We were blown away by this property. Within two minutes we’d seen a sloth and he hung around for the three days. A couple of other creatures visited, an agouti and a caoti as well as toucans and lots of frogs. The pool was idyllic as were the bedroom. Can’t fault the place at all and that was in the rain. We absolutely loved our stay. Rodney was always available to help, but left us to our own devices. Wholeheartedly recommended

  • The Bali Pavilion, which we've nicknamed,"Casa Romantica" was everything we hoped it would be and more. We got a little lost and so we arrived at dusk. Rodney met us at the hwy to lead us in and tell me when to switch to 4WD. In the dark it seemed daunting but exciting. It seemed to us like a seen from Indiana Jones. We arrived to find he had the path and yard light already on for us. It looked AWESOME! After being shown around the house we remembered that we should have bought our groceries earlier. But the store in Dominical was open, so back down the hill we went, not sure we'd find our way home later. But it's the main drive all the way up to the end so we were fine. The next morning we woke to the incredible view, Green Parrots and the wonderful pool. We had the whole mountain to ourselves it felt like. Even though the neighboring home is a short walk you have complete privacy. I had planned our trip with 3 days of relax at the beginning, and 3 days at the end. This was the perfect spot for that. Just my wife and I celebrating our 30th anniversary in a fashion that put our honeymoon to shame. I'd go back tomorrow if I could. The AC in the bedroom lowers the room temperature just enough for restful sleep. the open screen design make tough to cool the room with any doors or louvers open, but we're from the northwest and used to cooler temps. His home next door uses a ceiling fan which probably works just as well. A dip in the pool and off to sleep worked just great. Oh and we finally saw Toucans which finish off our must see wildlife list. We absolutely loved our stay.

  • Beautiful house with an unbelievable view. We spent most of our time enjoying the amazing view from the deck and the pool. The grounds are so well kept and the house was very clean. It was just two of us and it worked perfect but the house is made to accommodate many more! We want to come back with friends.

San Isidro de El General Filling a wide valley in the peaceful mountains of Costa Rica’s Southern Zone is San Isidro de El General. This small city is bursting with local culture and has an ideal location just an hour from the beach and only minutes from Costa Rica’s tallest mountain, Cerro Chirripo. Although it’s not really on any tourist map, San Isidro de El General has attracted many expats over the years with its moderate temperatures, beautiful landscapes, and convenience to shops and services. The Charm of San Isidro de El General Like most Costa Rican cities, San Isidro de El General is centered on a square that has a nicely landscaped park and large church. For blocks around this town center, there are shops, restaurants, simple hotels, and just about any type of business you can imagine or need. Candy shops, clothing stores, stationary stores, farm supplies and hardware stores, thrift stores, mechanics, computer repair, dentists, and lawyers are spread out all around town. There is even a McDonalds and Pizza Hut, and a few minutes down the road, a small mall and movie theater. What we like most about San Isidro is that it serves as one central location for all the smaller communities in the area. A huge bus station and the Inter-Americana Highway bring people in from even the smallest villages and towns to do business, run errands, or meet up with family and friends. For this reason, city life here is a lot less rushed and everyone is generally very friendly and helpful, more the feeling you get while in the countryside.San Isidro de El General might not be on any tourist map just yet, but this charming city is one you should definitely check out if you are looking to explore Costa Rica’s local culture. • I would like to write a book on how helpfull, nice, honest and genuine the property manager, Juan Carlos, was. Anything we needed, he was there. It was our first day in Costa Rica (it is 14th now) and the impression he made on us will stay gorever. The house is in the forest, with only animals aroud. Clean, comfortable and with all that os needed. Though property owner, Austin, has walked down having bad knee to great us. I really wish all hosts around the world would be so comitted to be hospitable as Austin and Juan Carlos.

  • We really loved our stay at Aurbora. The cabin was cozy and it was fun to cook outside right on the edge of nature. We then switched to an A frame and were able to sleep with the lovely sounds of the waves of the ocean and animals stirring at night. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. It was a short walk to town and to the beach. Hit the beach before 8 am to avoid the $6 fee. Will definitely be back!

  • Great place to enjoy Uvita and the beach. Everything is with in a walking distance. Also this place is to stay away from the city sounds and really enjoy the jungle. Beach is really a few steps from Cabins. Great service ang super great hosts. I will be back.

  • Arboura is paradize, the cabins are kind of in the middle of the forest and when you sleep there you have a great jungle soundsystem ;-). The location is just genial. In about 3 min. you are on the beach. So the first thing we did in the morning and the last thing at night was swimming in the ocean. Great!!Kyla and Michelle welcomed is very warmly and we could extend our stay very easily - which was very nice. Thanks a lot for this lovely days! We hope we can come back at some time of our life :-)

  • We can now say we have been "glamping", rustic but glamping. It was a camp site with mostly Aframe structures with full screened ends. The outside jungle was very much part of the decor which we loved, and the bugs were outside the screen. The grounds were well kept and staff welcoming. Our cabin was clean. The kitchen area was great for cooking has lots of room. The shower was an attached outside closet to our cabin-no hot water. It was refreshing!! It is probably not the best place for young children. It is very quiet with mostly adult folks. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always available if you had questions or needed anything. Macaws, white faced and howler monkeys were frequent visitors. The beach was a 5 minute walk. The whales tail is well worth the visit. Thank you Michelle and Daph!!

    Amy2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • The first thing we did when we arrived at Arboura's place was to extend our stay :). Inside the house, you feel you can pleasantly feel the nature around you without the discomfort of mosquitos and bugs, we loved it!

    Ana2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location just a few minutes walk from the beautiful beach. Staff were helpful, especially David and Michelle. The huts are quirky and we enjoyed being open to the outdoors, however the build quality and lighting were a bit dodgy - my boyfriend weighs about 200 pounds and his foot went straight through the front step, so he was a bit nervous climbing the stairs to the bed as they bent a lot! The hut also shakes a lot as you move around. Overall we enjoyed our stay, thanks!

  • We had a wonderful stay on the Talari River. It was restful, but also dynamic and adventuresome! We enjoyed lots of time on the large deck enjoying the river sounds, but also used the house as a staging point to explore the Chirropo National Park, Cloudbridge and Los Quetzales National Park (about 1.5-2.0 hours drive). The house is beautifully appointed with everything we needed to cook every meal. We had the best nights sleeps with the lovely cotton bed linens. We loved sitting on the deck, birdwatching in the early mornings and then firefly watching in the evenings. We loved the fresh flowers on the eating table and in the kitchen. It made the house feel so welcoming. The river is very loud. At night we kept the windows closed, only to keep the noise down, and we were able to sleep well. For a few days, the water noise level was fine, and made us feel more connected to the environment. As a couple, we used only the downstairs area, but the large room upstairs is also beautiful, and the open common area upstairs would be great for playing games or doing yoga. We thought, for certain, we would use the wonderful tub with fully opening windows, but in the end just enjoyed the shower in between our outings. The road is a bit rough on the road getting into the house. We never needed to use our 4WD, but higher ground clearance was good.

  • New house that is very comfortable by river and well equipped. Very private setting. We were there in rainy season, but the day we did have sun was great with the patio doors open. Bath was also a great feature with opening windows as well. Mattress was great. Road was in rough shape from storms, and we were glad to have 4x4. Watch large step from living room to bath, bedroom and kitchen, a little tricky design.

  • A wonderful house, in a amazing surrounding and private setting. The house is new and looks like on the photos. The kitchen is well equipped and from the terrasse you have a beautiful view on the "wild and rocky" garden and on the Cirripo River. To get to the house, a 4WD car is recommended! The house is situated in 1200 m.a.s, fresh nights let you sleep very well. We loved our stay in Ursula's house!

  • The House was beautiful, the location was great, well equipped, very private, the river in the back yard was amazing. We got even more of what we where looking for. Thank you Ursula.

  • Silvia and her family was super helpful and warm. The apartement is comfortable and peaceful. Even if the place is close to the main road, it was quite in the apartman. I had my privacy, I had a nice opened kitchen in the beautiful garden for myself. Silvia helped and supported me, they were very friendly with me and my baby. Thank you for your kindness, it was a pleasure to be a part of your Family❤️

  • If you find yourself in San Isidro de General and need a place to stay on a rainy afternoon, as we did, Sylvia's home is a great option. The garden area is very pleasant and the covered outdoor kitchen is impressive. We very much enjoyed having 2 meals with the family (for a reasonable price). Silvia's mother washed and dried our laundry, again for a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

  • The best option ever! You have to go DEFINITELY

  • A friend and I stayed at Silvia's as part of a plan to journey to San Gerardo. Silvia's family home is great! The family is very hospitable and Silvia has been very flexible with our booking times (which we needed to shift around). The let room is annexed to the main house and has an en-suite toilet and shower. It was clean and well kept. We also had access to the outdoor kitchen and garden which were nice for preparing meals and hanging-out in.

Do you want to rest? Do you want to leave behind the stress of your daily routine? Do you love nature? If these questions respond to a "yes" you definitely have to visit this beautiful and cozy cabin, submerged in one of the largest natural sanctuaries of Pérez Zeledón, Costa Rica, "Los Cusingos" a biological corridor inhabited by thousands of wild species which are within your reach if you decide to visit us.
At Rocio`s host, you can have the freedom to walk through the forest, there`s also a river just 500 meters away, waterfalls, bird and land animal sightings in the majesty of the great Alexander Scotch Biological Corridor (Los Cusingos).
The town where the cabin is located is very welcoming, the people is very friendly and willing to help.
  • I loved this cabin in the woods so much I extended my stay to a full week. Diego's folks are so sweet, the puppy, lika, will join you on hikes and make sure you don't get lost, which would be hard as the there's a fence eventually. The big property is owned by a Canadian family and you can hike over the hill, visit the horses, and walk through the woods(a few different trails) and down to 2, maybe 3, entrance spots to the river, which is super refreshing. There's a map in the cabin. The cabins is cozy, but can sleep 5-so perfect for a family with kids who've had enough of zip lining and tourist spots. Or a few friends. That said, I was there with a little old dog at the beginning of rainy season and totally enjoyed my time alone. Wake up early when the sun beats down, take a hike, go to the bird conservatory very close by, or a nature reserve not too far away., or just sit out in sun and read. Then come back to the cabin for a siesta as the rain starts. The roof is set so you can open all the windows and keep them open all night-and get the feeling of sleeping outside. Weather is perfect now-upper 70's (26c) in late morning, cooling down to 66 (19c) at night -so nice to use a blanket. The deck has 3, yes three hammocks to lay in and read the afternoon & evening away. The kitchen is functional, so cooking was easy. Shower, toilet and kitchen area have soap, sponge, shampoo and towels ( uncommon) and are clean. It's a cozy cabin. (Anyone expecting luxury anywhere in Costa Rica for less than 500$ a night is an idiot) the beds are fine, the three sleeping areas are all connected and the deck is the living room. I can't wait to return. Wifi isn't up the mountain that far just yet. So download a few movies and just skip the news for awhile-but... in a pinch, you can get a signal at the junction of the gravel road and the paved road on the way to san Isidro general. Which is an up and coming little city that has great pizza and sushi and the best farmers market (thurs & fri only) in the country. In rainy season you want a 4x4. But in the dry season it would just be a slow, bumpy ride up the mountain. This is where you want to stay for privacy and quiet time. No parties, no hordes of people. Lots of little dogs ( but Lika is the best dog ever-I almost stole her). There are a few houses you can see lights from ( and the parents place) but the feeling is still woodsy. This cabin is new to air B and B and it's obvious the family is excited about having guests and working hard to make it really nice. One of...

Hola! :) We are a Costa Rican family, living in a beautiful small village called General Viejo conveniently located between the communities of San Gerardo de Rivas and Santa Elena. After many awesome experiences hosting friends from around the world, we finally decided to open our house to whoever wants to feel and enjoy the real rural lifestyle in Costa Rica, full of friendly people, breathtaking nature and the unique "pura vida" vibe.
We are offering you the experience of be a guest in a real family's house, in a real Costa Rican rural community. Our house has built more than 33 years ago and its beautiful wooden inner walls and ceilings made out from local trees remain as new. There is a big garden around the house, where you can enjoy the nature, watching birds, hummingbirds and butterflies meanwhile you are drinking a good cup of coffee. Also we have several fruit's trees in our backyard, so depending on the season, we will offer you fresh mangoes, bananas, plantains, oranges, mandarins, lemon-mandarins, mangosteen, coconuts and even honey from our natural bee´s nest (from trees).
Our place is well located at the center of the town. Less than 10 minutes walking: - Supermarket and several "Pulperias" (small groceries stores). - Los Ranchos Restaurant (traditional food), El Viejo Restaurant (international food) and several "Sodas" (traditional fast food restaurant). - Local Bakery and several "Cantinas" (traditional bars). Also, we can help you to coordinate a local experience with members of our community. - Trips to coffee, pineapple or sugarcane plantations. Don't lost the opportunity to visit a "Trapiche", a traditional sugarcane mill run by local families. - Trips to natural swimming holes and waterfalls. There are some unbelievable places that you never will enjoy without a local. - Hiking trips to La Amistad International Park. Place where is the Cerro Chirripó, the highest peak in Costa Rica (3820m.a.s.l). - Biking or horseriding trips around small villages with beautiful landscapes. This is the best way to explore around! - Are you into camping? We can take you to great spots at the middle of the forest, completely immerse in the nature. The last october, we were stroke by the Tropical Storm "Nate" which destroyed the bridge that used to gives the main access to the community. Even though, we still have two alternative routes through other communities, "Rivas" from the north and "Peñas Blancas" from the south, the lack of this bridge has had a strong impact in the local economy. Many small business are having financial problems, because their customers from the town (San Isidro) aren't coming anymore. Your visit could make the difference, with just the simple action of having lunch at one local restaurant, you are helping a local family to keep going with their business. Additionally, General Viejo is a great spot to make daytrips around the valley. Less than 30 minutes by car: San Isidro de El General (closest town) Las Quebradas Biological Center. Los Cusingos Bird Sanctuary San Gerardo de Rivas. Cedral de Cajón. Topolandia. Less than 1 hour by car: Cloud Bridge. Beginning of Chirripo's trail. Nauyaca Waterfalls. Los Quetzales National Park. Tapantí National Park. Dominical Beach.
  • I rented an Airbnb and have been welcomed like a friend. It was my best experience until know. Isabel, Danny and their family where exceptionally friendly, helped me a lot organising my visits and Isabel prepared excellent breakfasts. The room and the matrass where very comfortable. If I where you I would make a detour to discover their place.

  • Isabel was an exceptional host!!! I was feeling like in home, she cooked for us a tipical breakfast which was delicious and she was super helpful and patient with all the questions and tips I requested. The location is really good specially for me because my next stop was the Chirripó National Park in Rivas. I hope to have the chance to stay again in Isabel’s home in my next trip to the south!!! Strongly Recommended it!!!

    Joselyn2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place! Wonderful family of hosts! Wonderful everything!!! If anything I should have stayed longer. I especially enjoyed the hiking, mountain biking and the swimming in waterfalls and natural swimming holes and hot springs. Next time I would surely go camping with them as well and practice on my horseback riding. For those who want to taste some of the local culture they have great contacts with people around that have different plantations: coffee, sugar cane, pineapple. You can actually see the whole process of these products at their farms. And this is without doubt the perfect place to practice your Spanish! ;)

Lapas Nest is close to public transport and nightlife. You’ll love it because of the views, wildlife sightings, the kitchen, the breeze, hot shower and the coziness. It's a good place for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Lapas Nest is located conveniently just off the paved Dominical/San Isidro road in the small village of Platanillo. The outlook is on the edge of the jungle where each day is greeted with a celebration of bird songs. Highest monkey count so far, is sighting 17 members of the local White Faced Monkey troupe that have been known to parade past the balcony viewpoint on their seasonal foraging journeys. Howler monkeys are commonly heard. Just 9 miles down the road, the local beach town of Dominical is famous for it's surfing, nightlife and is a launch site for a host of adventures. Boat rides to the Corcovado Park entrances, on the Osa Peninsula, with guided tours, or racing dolphins out to Caño Island for snorkeling or scuba diving in the marine reserve. Delectable treats while in town include: Espresso, Ice Cream, Massage, Fish Tacos and a Real Natural Food Store with local and US products. Whether your adventures take you exploring the depths of Corcovado or simply on a horseback ride to the famous Nauyaca Water Falls less than 2 miles down the road, returning home to Lapas Nest offers evening breezes cooled by the jungle consistently offering a 10 degree cooler sleeping arrangement than the more humid 90s of the sea-level coastline.
Lapas Nest is not located in a tourist zone. Platanillo is a small town happily doing what it does best. Pura Vida. Pure life, in a truly Costa Rican tranquillo style. Yes they "roll up the streets" at 10pm, a good idea for a town that wakes in the cool of dawn to get things done before the heat of the day. Crack of dawn will have a little foot traffic announced by the local canine watch. 5:30am the church bells play a peaceful melody. A good time for a hot shower and to put the coffee on. An adventure is in the making. Enjoy the deck chairs as the show begins, or walk to the bus stop for an outing. The restaurante opens at 8:00am for breakfast or you can bring some local ingredients home from the store to your own cocina. Enjoy your day!
  • Lapas Nest is a cozy little Sanctuary with spectacular views. The toucans visit everyday and lying in the hammock will take all your stress away. Great location and you can't ask for a kinder host. Brad took care of all my needs. This place has GREAT internet which is difficult to find in this area. A home away from home

    Amy and Gil2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lapas nest is a true treasure. It has everything you might need (bed, kitchen, hot shower, working wi-fi, washing machine) plus an amazing bacony with a breathtaking jungle view. Even though there are sights to see in the neighbourhood, the toucans and swallow tailed kites coming by for dinner will make you want to stay there all day. To top that off, Brad is a very sincere host, who really wants you to have the best time possible. He's quick to reply if you have questions and has solutions to everything.

    Renee2017-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • High above Dominical Lapas Nest has a stunning view and rustic feel. From the balcony look down over the jungle and listen to the birds. Be aware the the village’s road is near so you’ll hear the cars and motorbikes too but mostly only during the day. The home has all the equipment you’ll need but does lean towards basic. Wi-Fi is excellent. There is private parking, which is tight and steep but I managed in my 4WD. It’s a 15 minute steep drive up from Dominical on a tarmac road, past the stunning Nauyaca Waterfalls. The wooden ‘nest’ structure is certainly a unique find and a worthwhile experience if you don’t mind being away from the hub of Dominical itself and driving everywhere.

    Pam2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a great getaway at the private and secluded Lapas Nest. The hammock was wondrous and the views were breathtaking.

    Andy2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Brad's place is truly special, you really do feel as though you are in a birds nest hidden in the trees! We were woken up to the sound of a Toucan in the next tree... such an incredible way to wake up! It's also super close to Nauayaca Falls which are so beautiful. And coming back after the long hike to a hammock and a welcome breeze was so super. Thanks for hosting us Brad!

    Ami2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view, walking distance to center of Platanillo. Cabin was very nice with more than sufficient amenities ....and the beautiful view :-)

    Freddy2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • The property is excellent and Brad is a very pleasant and helpful host.

    Aidan2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Brad's place is a gem. Private, right on the edge of a jungle, this place is peaceful and secluded, and yet, things you might need are quite easily accessible. I was here for about a week and lived (not stayed) and loved each day. Getting there wasn't a problem at all as it's right on the hwy 243. I was driving, but i think it's a quick hop on the bus from Dominical, the nearest beach town. The place itself was quite spacious for 1 person. I spent most of my time on the balcony and the kitchen area downstairs, which has all basic equipments. It felt like I was at home. Dominical is easy access if you're a surfer/beach person, and the nayuca waterfalls enroute is a must-experience. Totally recommend Brad's place for your getaway!

This is a brand new house February 2017. Open concept Bali style, cozy, rustic and modern. Well ventilated for this tropical climate. Close to, one of the best beach < The whale tale> famous for whale watching (700 m), restaurant and super market.
The house is new Bali style, ventilated very open and its architecture a mixture of modern and rustic, floors and sky reasonable in beautiful wood ... 700 meters from the beach, 700 meters from the Uvita river ... 2 km from the Waterfall Green Waterfall, near the mountain for walk, 100 meters super market and restaurants ... we offer fishing tour, mountain horse tour or beach to see beautiful sunsets. Very well located at one hour from Quepos and Manuel Antonio, one hour from Sierpe and 5 km from Playa Ventanas and Ojochal.
  • Huy and Pilar are lovely people. Their space was beautiful and spotless. The location is unbelievably close to the ocean and local supermarkets. They also recommended a great horse riding experience in the mountains and that was truly unforgettable. We saw lots of wildlife, as well, just in Uvita (sloths, iguanas, macaws, toucans too). As well, they provided valuable advice for navigating the sometimes confusing Costa Rican mass transit system. We would be more than happy to spend more time at this location. Truly one of the best Air BnB experiences ever. Buenos y pura vida! :)

  • We had a really lovely time staying at Casa Bali Verde . Huy and Pili were super welcoming and accommodating with us. They even helped us massively when we were unfortunate enough to get a flat tyre. They know Uvita/Bahia very well and are able to organise tours and suggest great places to eat. Pili offered to make us breakfast and also made a lively cake ! The location is great for Uvita beach and Ballena National park.

  • Everything was perfect: the house has great design and decoration, the location is close from the beach, and Pilar & Huy are wonderfull hosts. Great breakfast too. Very nice conversations with our hosts. They gave us the right tips to enjoy our stay and visit the surroundings. We recommend!

  • This is a very special and beautiful house with wonderful owners. When we arrived in the eventing they showed us the house with the words: mi casa es su casa and even offered us a warm meal. Pilar and Huy helped us with all the information we needed. Within 10 minutes Pilar arranged a trip " whale spotting" for the next morning. She made a wonderful breakfast and provided us with extra towels for the boattrip. We were picked up at the house and had a perfect morning. We spotten some whales and a turtle ! Pilar and Huy like to help you with pleasure. Good bed, bathroom of your own. The living room, kitchen and tv room are shared spaces. They speak spanish, english and french. The Bahia Ballena and the beach are beautiful. For a few dollars you can get a taxi to the little village or a restaurant.

Rustic and ideal space to disconnect from technology and stress, Only 5 minutes walking from the main road where you will find public transport which goes to the most visited beaches in the country and also to the waterfalls, tourist centers and San Isidro del General. It is the best place if you want to live near the ENVISION FESTIVAL, but far enough to enjoy the serenity and freshness that only a tropical forest can provide.
The space is open, there are no bars because it is very safe and calm, if you have pets, these could escape unless they are trained. The space is open, there are no bars because it is very safe and calm, if you have pets, these could escape unless they are trained.
The vencidarios is a safe and rural place, with very few neighbors, and absolutely no noise from the city. The neighborhood is a safe and rural place, with very few neighbors, and absolutely no city noise.

Spacious and bright 1 br/1 ba mountain home with everything you need to enjoy a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Quiet and semi secluded but within walking distance to the neighborhood "corner store", two restaurants and the bus that takes you into town, San Isidro de EL General, the second largest city in Costa Rica. There is a weekly feria, where local farmers bring produce and other goods to sell. You will be near the Chirripo Mountain, the highest in Costa Rica.
This beautiful mountain cabin is surrounded by nature's beauty. There are many fruit trees to pick from, various species of bird that flutter about daily. The views are beauiful from the open upper deck. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked with coffee and tea, sugar, salt, pepper and a seasonal fruit bowl.
The neighborhood or barrio in Spanish, is San Francisco in Chimirol. It is quiet, family oriented and home to many retirees from all over the world. The Chirripo river runs through this neighborhood and the calming sounds of the rushing rapids can be heard at night. There is a public bus that comes by and will take you to the city of San Isidro de El General where you will find shops, restaurants and the weekly Feria. (The feria is an open air farmers market). There is a corner convenience store and two restaurants within a short walking distance from the house. There is also a small neighborhood feria every Wednesday where you can shop from local farmers. Chimirol is a very safe and friendly place.
