  • Keith is a very nice guy. Everything is perfect. Good location. Very clean. We love it. And we will definitely recommend this one.

    Cherie &2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Keith's place - at risk of reducing its availability to me. I made my first inquiry at the last minute, a day before I was requesting the facility. Keith immediately accepted. There was one surprise - the house is listed as a private whole house arrangement but it is more complex that this. I learned upon arriving that the available space - two bedrooms, living room, eating area and refrain and microwave were in fact the front part of his house. I will say, however much I may have been surprised by this, it in no way dampened my stay nor my recommendation. I had a friend visit for a bit and I was worried about the noise that we have have been making but when I saw Keith the following morning, nothing was said. I will add there is a plus to this 'attached' full house arrangement - he offered very good bread and coffee in the morning. I will definitely repeat. Thank you Keith

  • I stayed at Keith's for a week and had the most wonderful time there. Keith and Judy are incredibly friendly and helpful hosts. The room was neatly set up - and as was the atmosphere in the entire house. Keith pampered me with deliciously home made sourdough bread and coffee in the mornings which mad me feel like home. If not for the real comfy bed, I would certainly return for the great experience staying at his place!

    Philip2014-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect for walking, we wished we had brought our bikes. Keith was great on conversation and bread. Beds were very comfortable.

    Richard2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • I really liked the house, the host and the homemade bread at breakfast. The location is very close to downtown and it is quiet and peaceful. Maybe the only complaint is the beds are maybe too comfortable, which encouraged extra sleep.

    Kris2014-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent a few nights at the Straw Bale Bungalow, and were sincerely delighted with the experience. We basically enjoyed the front of the bungalow, living area, dining area, two bedrooms and one bath, completely private. It was absolutely beyond well worth it for the price! One bedroom had an amazing feather bed (I would have taken it home if I could!) Keith was such a gracious host, as well as being an amazing bread maker. We were welcomed each morning with coffee and artisan bread and jams, such a treat! You will not be disappointed if you stay!

    Pearl2015-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very accommodating house. Very nice beds, living and dining areas... Just be prepared to utilize a dorm - size fridge and a microwave as your kitchen. Very nice host, very delicious complimentary coffee in the morning too! Large grocery store and quite nice dining options within walking distance

    brad2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Keith's place was great! He was a great communicator, showed us everything, the place was very charming and clean. And then he had delicious fresh baked bread and coffee for us in the morning. Wonderful stay. And i really enjoyed Bloomington.

  • I wouldn't hesitate for a second renting a place from Richard in the future. His house is a little off the beaten path, but that is what makes it fun. He was very accommodating and his house was basically brand-new. Couldn't be happier with my first Air B&B experience thanks, mostly to Richard.

    Jason2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • First ever experience with Airbnb & have to say that I was not disappointed. Richard communicated very well with me, ensured that we had proper access to the house & any necessities, & was spot on with his recommendations for food & things to do in & around the area. The house was in tip-top shape. This house & experience definitely set the bar high for future airbnb experiences. Thanks!

  • Great spot!

    Neil2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place. Address on the listing was incorrect, but the description of the location made it work.

    Richard2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house has definitely a lot of space! Two bedrooms are gorgeous and full cooking amenities are ready to use in the kitchen. A bottle of wine and other bottled beverages are also kindly provided. The bathtub outside the house is kickass! The best thing about the place is everything is so clean and tidy. The sheets, towels and even floors are flawless. There are plenty of parking space around the house. The code lock on the door is very easy to use so no need to bother Jeff and Laura. Jeff and Laura are very quick in replying messages and provide very detailed tips for directions and the neighborhood.

    Mengmeng2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of 4 adults had plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen setup was great for breakfasts in, and the living area is comfortable and open. Good beds, great pillows and towels. The hot tub on the patio was a definite highlight. We explored the area and had some good meals in Bloomington, and a great afternoon checking out Oliver Winery just down the road.

    Myron and Edward2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Laura's place was excellent. Super clean and tons of space. Our 6 person group loved it and was amazed by the space. The hot tub was the cherry on top after a long concert. If I'm ever up by Bloomington again I will surely look for this place again!

    William2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Jeff and Laura's place! It was very clean, easy to access and a perfect stay for IU family weekend! The hot tub is wonderful! Jeff and Laura were very quick to respond and had all the details laid out for us perfectly upon arrival!

The Forest Homestead is in the Morgan Monroe State Forest, a scenic drive 12 miles to Bloomington, offering a huge variety of restaurants, pubs, Indiana University campus, and much more. The two bedroom, one bath house has great views, and is modern and updated. The property offers excellent outdoor activities including hiking trails, a pond, gardens, a covered patio, and more. The Forest Homestead is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
  • A great spot. The home is so clean and bright and welcoming. Small touches like nit only wood fir the wood stove but two sizes of kindling and fire starters. All the kitchen things you could want to make great meals. Good WiFi . Just a perfect spot to enjoy friends company.

    Linda2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I absolutely loved Terry's place! It was so relaxing, quiet, and just beautiful. Exactly what we were hoping for. The kitchen was totally useable if you're planning on doing your own cooking. Plus Terry was kind enough to offer up his garden - we snagged some delicious peppers for our breakfast skillet! But if you don't want to cook there are tons of options in nearby Bloomington or Nashville. PLUS our dogs were in heaven! They loved having the run of the property and were thoroughly exhausted by the time we left. I can't say enough how much we enjoyed the weekend and we can't wait for our next chance to get away to Forrest Homestead!

    Stephanie2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem in the woods. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. The green egg and fire pit were very much enjoyed as was the setting with fruit trees, vegetable garden and NATURE. The Port Hole on Lemon Lake is a must if you like fried catfish...the pizza is pretty good as well. Very friendly and good cover band on our Friday night visit. For us city folk, this was a great escape!

    Glenn2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is the PERFECT quiet get away spot. Its a nice modern house with all of the comforts of home that feels like its in the middle of nowhere, but is not far from downtown Bloomington, Oliver Winery, and other relaxing things to do in the area. We would definitely stay here again!

    Tim2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • I was one of the first renters for this property and it was wonderful! The communication with the owner was great and I received quick responses to all of my questions. The rental itself was clean, well equipped, and very quiet. With the surrounding acreage and the property amenities (butterfly gardens and a decent sized pond), it was the perfect spot to sit back and relax. I have no complaints from my stay. I packed all of our food so I don't have experience driving to area restaurants, but the property is definitely away from the city life, which is how I prefer it. It was definitely hard to leave and return to "real life." I hope to return some day!

    Brandy2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • It is an amazing place. The house is in the middle of the forest, it has a pond, a vegetable garden, walking trails and so many other features. The outdoor is terrific. You have plenty of space to do things outside. It is located 24 minutes away from Bloomington's downtown--it is a fun ride. The house is very nice. It has everything you need and all the things work pretty well. Terry is an excellent host. Check it and check out was very easy. He was always available in case we have a problem. This is a very beautiful place and I am looking forward to get back soon.

    Juan2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Terry's place was excellent! Easy access to trails, and a cozy fireplace inside of a wide-open living room. It was a great place to meet up with friends, play games, and enjoy the outdoors.

    Weston2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend staying at Terry's place. Quaint, quiet, and beautiful living space. Terry was a very accommodating host and we would love to go back sometime!

    $110 Forest Homestead
    25 reviews
15 min. N of Bloomington, this 375-sqft studio cottage is located in a gorgeous, setting on our 38 wooded acres. Though there are no bedrooms, a queen-sized lofted bed & double-sized futon allow a comfy-for-2, very cozy-for-4 stay. Fresh hen eggs and summer berries await!
We built this cottage out of 90% repurposed or recycled materials to be lovely and private. Evening quiet is respected, and the space very comfortably fits 2 and (very) cozily fits 4. We're touring musicians who enjoy the quiet and solitude of the country, but are used to entertaining and accommodating guests as we operate a commercial recording studio used by local, regional & international artists. On the warm summer occasion, we might light a bonfire and host a musical evening with friends (including our guests, if they'd like), but we'll let you know if anything is planned at the time you make a reservation - just in case it's not your cup of bluegrass!
We're located in a very rural area, outside of the city limits of Bloomington: 15 minutes from downtown Bloomington and 40 minutes from Indianapolis, 12 minutes off of Hwy. 37, 12 minutes from Lake Griffy, 18 minutes from Lake Lemon, 1 mile from the Morgan-Monroe State forest and 5 minutes from Oliver Winery. The drive is scenic, the roads windy, and the neighbors colorful, though sparse. The zoning is AG/Rural, so lots are 5 acres or more. 15 minutes drive on Old 37 gets you to the main Hwy 37 . Between here and there, the woods are lovely, dark and deep.
  • This place is so cozy, nestled away in the woods. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

    Sophia2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • David and his wife were wonderful. They were very gracious hosts and the amount of time and thought they put into the lodging was evident in all of the cool knick knacks and details. Farm fresh eggs, biscuits , and French press coffee put it over the top, especially for the price. I look forward to staying there again!

    Ernesto2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at the cottage. From the quiet country side, walking with my dog in the woods, making coffee with fresh ground beans and the French press, and reading all afternoon under a blanket. It brought peace to my soul and some quiet from the chaos life can sometimes bring. David and Krista are very kind and willing to go above and beyond to make your stay special. I hope to go back in the near future!

    Amanda2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • From the get go, Dave and Krista were phenomenal hosts. My friends and I just got done with a 10 mile hike and were looking for a place to stay late in the day. Dave answered us literally within 10 minutes of our request. The studio guest house made me feel right at home, with plenty of reading and movies to boot. At the same time, it really has that west coast feel I love. If you need a place to stay, and are anywhere near Bloomington, IL you NEED to book here!

    Joe2015-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at this little guest house! Everything is as described in listing, and even nicer. So many little thoughtful touches made our stay complete. Fresh eggs, blueberry bread and coffee to name a few. We spent our days hiking and exploring Brown County area and had dinner in Bloomington. Beautiful location. In the evenings we enjoyed watching movies from their very diverse collection. Can't wait to stay again! Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you!!

    Rochelle2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cute weekend getaway! My husband and I both enjoyed our stay here. We were looking for a relaxing and remote stay, and that's exactly what we got! We enjoyed eating breakfast on the back porch each morning and visiting the local wineries and orchards nearby. David and Krista were very welcoming - we loved getting to talk with them and checking out the studio! They are very talented people :)

    Julia2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The main purpose for travel was rest and rejuvenation. David and Krista's guest house provided exactly that. We were greeted by their friendly dog companions and then shown very cleverly designed quarters where we could easily relax and watch the sunset [again and again!]. The owners are thoughtful and conscientious and this was evident through our entire stay; from a freshly baked loaf of gluten free bread to organic milks, eggs, and spreads. If you are a musician, a visit here must be a consideration for a next studio project. Airtime Studio and the guest house is exactly how I'd structure a creative audio project.

    Gwen2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding hospitality and attention to detail. We stayed at this delightful cabin nestled in a peaceful country setting while visiting our daughter at IU. We so enjoyed chatting with the hosts and sharing stories. We hope to be back to enjoy the magical tranquility in the warmer weather. Thank you again for being so welcoming.

  • This loft was a great place for a week long stay for me and my pup! David and his family were very nice. The animals were all very friendly. The space was unique and cozy. I really enjoyed my stay!

    Sonali2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is an AMAZING place to stay. We wanted rest & relaxation and that's exactly what we got. The Loft was extremely clean and super cozy. We ate every meal on our private porch area...even in the rain because it's covered! David even brought the grill to us so we could make dinner, which was extremely nice. We spent our days in downtown Nashville, IN and Brown County State Park...which are both just a short drive away. We spent our nights watching the gorgeous sunset over the ridge, exploring the property on the different trails, and playing cards & listening to music. And we got the best night's sleep on the amazing bed in the Loft. Overall, David's place was way better than we expected for our first Air BnB experience...and we definitely plan to return very soon!!!

    John2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The homestead is absolutely beautiful. The pictures do the place justice. The place is very clean and the hosts provide all the amenities you would need for your stay. They were VERY open to communication if we had any questions! Awesome couple, awesome dogs, awesome first Airbnb stay. I will be returning in the near future.

    Dana2018-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The property is very unique, rustic and secluded. Extremely welcoming hosts. The property is shared with several other guests. If you are looking for a getaway that takes you away from the beaten path where you can sit by a fire under the clear starlit sky then this is the place for you.

    Adam2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • David's place was great! Everything was delightful; biscuits in the cupboard and in the fridge, chickens dawdling around in the yard, the hummingbirds zipping about. You might find yourself dragging your feet in the morning just to take in the place. You must drive on some winding roads to get there, which might make some people nervous, but there rarely seems to be traffic. Just take your time.

    Eamon2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a quiet get-away, this is a great place. David is a wonderful, helpful host, and if you need anything (which you won’t, because everything you could need is already there), all you have to do is ask. The loft bedroom, up the stairs close to the ceiling reminded me of a bed space my grandma used to have at her house.

  • Perfect place to stay for our group trip to Bloomington. Check in and out were easy and seamless. The house was clean, comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone to stay. Even though we had some people sleeping on couches, they were still comfortable and everyone was happy. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Very cozy house in a quiet community. Great for big groups and families!

  • Very nice home in suburban area about 10 minutes away from Memorial stadium. Great for big families, especially with small children. Is child- friendly with large back yard with trampoline and sandbox. The host was gracious enough to let us check in way earlier than check in time which allowed my nieces and nephews to get to the Hoosier tailgate while Grammy and pappy watched the kids!

  • I would like to thank Shawna and their family for giving us the opportunity to stay at their home for the weekend. There was 8 of us that stayed and came into the area to take in the Badger vs Indiana football game. There was plenty of room to sleep without anyone having to worry about space. Luckily they had Wifi because cell phone reception can be a struggle with some providers in that area. The location worked well for us because it was only 15 minutes away from downtown or the stadium. Made things easy and cheap for ubers/lyfts. Shawna recommend some places downtown that we had a great time at and was excellent at getting back to us if there was any question. Had a fun time in Indiana and if we ever look in coming back to take in another Badger game, Shawna would be the first person to contact.

  • The neighborhood was quiet n neighbors friendly. Easy to get to B-town for graduation events n easy drive 15 mins to IU Memorial n Assembly Hall. The home was very cozy spacious n the kitchen was great for cooking so we didn't feel like we had to eat out. Matter of fact we cooked every meal as we also had my 80+ year old in laws with us n nothing like a home cooked meal. Great set up for our teenager in the basement tv n wifi.

    Art2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first AirBNB experience and Shawna made everything easy and smooth. Her communication was great! The house was great! Super easy to get to IU (less than 10 minutes by car). Check in was easy, she set the door code to the same one we have on our front door. Little sticky notes around the kitchen made finding things easy. 2 big screen TVs with Directtv made it easy when we didn't want to all watch the same thing (not that we watched much tv). If you are tall like me (6-3) then you need to remember to duck when going downstairs. Also if you love a super firm bed then you are all set. If you prefer it softer maybe an eggcrate would be helpful for you to bring. But that's just a preference (I was fine and my wife thought it was too hard). For a first expreience, i wasn't sure what to expect I hope the next time I use AirBNB I have a similar experience! Thanks Shawna!!!

Stay in our rad basement with your private entrance, pool table, poker table, bar and 4 TV's. It has 2 bedrooms one with a King bed and the 2nd bedroom has 2 queen beds. Just 4 miles from Assembly Hall, Memorial Stadium, Kirkwood Ave and IU's campus.
Tons of space! About 2500 square ft of space so it could easily sleep 10-12 people if you brought air mattress. Close to everything IU related and has its own side entrance.
Everyone is nice and no crime.
  • Clint's place is a really fun basement that is located in a beautiful neighborhood, not more than 15 min from mostly everything in Bloomington. However, I do not think this should be listed as an Entire Home. It's just a huge basement that lacks a kitchen, which doesn't make it an entire home. Despite being a cool party area, lacking kitchen makes it difficult to have a party. Also, I understand it was a Sunday evening so there is school on Monday, but in the morning, most of us were woke up by people moving around upstairs. And for a place to have fun and party at, that isn't ideal for 7am. Ultimately, I would not personally stay at Clint's again but it is definitely an awesome size and super fun, it's just a little misleading.

    Ryann2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Clint is extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. The place is HUGE and super fun, not to mention peaceful. This is our second time staying here and it didn't disappoint.

  • Clint's home was a perfect place for a few friends to stay while we caught the IU game. Spacious and clean, this was a fantastic alternative to a hotel. The host was accommodating and very good about communicating with us. Would recommend this place for anyone in staying in Bloomington for a few days.

  • Great place! The pictures don’t do the space available justice. Loved the pool table and bar set-up. Great for watching baseball and football all weekend. Perfect space for the weekend trip in Bloomington and Clint was a great host!

  • Clint was great with communication and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The place was very clean, there was tons of space, and the beds were extremely comfortable!

  • Really great place to stay, cool place to hang out too

    Sid2017-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do no justice. The area is beautiful in the pictures (as expected), but much roomier than you would think . Loved the amenities with having a Kuerig in the bedroom with creams, travel cups, sugar...etc. Bedroom has an iron and ironing board, rack to hang clothes, shoes and put clothes on and the bed is comfortable and large. Carpet was very clean and you can tell well kept and vacuumed. Clint and Nicole communicate very timely and they are very friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend!

My place is in the woods just outside of the north side of Bloomington. It takes no more than ten to twenty minutes to get to the mall, downtown, or campus! As an added bonus, it's a short drive to Lake Lemon or Lake Griffy. This is a great place to stay and visit IU, go to a sporting event, enjoy all of the local parks, or check out the night life downtown.
Griffy Lake is 8 minutes from the house. Lake Lemon is 20 minutes from the house. Lake Monroe is 23 minutes from the house. Nashville, IN is 32 minutes from the house. Ferguson dog park is a five minute drive from the house. The road is low-traffic, so many cyclists can be seen training in the area.
  • We stayed here because it was close to Indiana University Bloomington. Its around 10 minutes away and for our stay, the host left us the whole place, so it was quite comfortable. Cell phone reception is spotty.

    Chris2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jacquelyn is a great host! She communicates well and is very accommodating. My company and I️ (along with two cats) booked this location while driving cross country. She was very welcoming and accepting (including the cats!) This place is in a very quiet area. Very tidy with everything one would need. Would highly recommend this location! Thanks again!!

  • Nice quiet little gem.

    Brian2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • A very charming house in the country but still close to Bloomington. Very clean, uncluttered and organized small ranch- style home. We didn't use the kitchen but when you enter the house, you enter through the kitchen and it gives a terrific first impression! This was my 3rd experience staying at an AirBNB and it didn't disappoint! I would definitely stay here again. My son slept in the bedroom (he rates the mattress a 7 out of 10 lol) and I slept on a very comfortable sofa bed in the living room. There are plenty of pillows, sheets, blankets and towels. The internet speed is 10 up 6 down, which is slower than the 50/50 we were used to, but it sufficed.

    Heather2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a great place and clean place to stay in Bloomington and I will stay here if I'm coming back here!

    Lawrence2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jacquelyn was super responsive and her place fit my minimal needs perfectly. It's a bit out of town but not at all too far to drive in for a meal. The house is small and simple, but everything worked well and I felt very welcome in the house. As I was traveling on business, access to good wifi, and a desk and chair in the room was very much appreciated.

    Josh2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • This house is adorable and quaint and clean and easy to access. The bedroom is quiet and the Linens were clean. The surrounding country was beautiful in terms of the drive to get there. The properties immediately adjacent to it are not high end but it is safe and you could see the stars. I would recommend it as a good bargain place to stay in Bloomington.

In the beautiful outskirts of Bloomington sits a 1300 sq ft house. I (the owner) live here with my partner, and two extremely friendly feline friends. Your private room is equipped with a comfy full size bed and ample closet space. While here you will have access to a full bath, office, kitchen, and laundry room. Enjoy the short 15 minute drive to the IU campus. Be close to excellent bars and restaurants and come home at night to a quiet tranquil home.
My house was built in the 1970s and is 1300 sq. ft. There is a large, beautiful yard with a deck. There are 2 bedrooms, an office, living room, kitchen, downstairs living space, washer/dryer, and 2.5 bathrooms. The private bedroom comfortably sleeps two. It's a full size mattress. I will provide clean linens, towels, blankets, etc. Pillows are available, but I would suggest bringing your own. Parking is available in my driveway. There is plenty of space. I just ask that you don't block the garage so I can get in and out. Text or phone call is fine to communicate your arrival. Check out time is 11:00 a.m. Guests All are welcome! However, because of the size of the bed, I am only able to comfortably fit 2 adults. I just ask that if you have a furry friend you discuss this with me ahead of time. I have two cats that will be out of your way.
The neighborhood is very quiet. There's rarely traffic, and it's close to a grocery store, restaurants, etc.
  • Emily's place is great! It was perfect for us as a couple and our pup. Emily was extremely flexible with our crazy weekend schedule. The place was cozy and we absolutely loved the cats (especially Howl who was super friendly and cuddly). Location was close to our meetings located at the IU campus, and Emily was willing to share some local suggestions of where to eat. We would 100% recommend Emily's place.

Your soul filled bedroom, private home with twin bed accommodating one person, full bath. Suburban home 15-minute drive from downtown Bloomington and IU campus, 10- minute drive to Griffy Lake. Bedroom: dresser, two desks, part of closet for hanging clothes, bay view of backyard. WiFi available. Roomy front and back deck. Property certified as National Wildlife Federation habitat. Wooded trail in back, walking area in quiet neighborhood. Tai Chi studio downstairs. Camp mattress for 2nd person.
Must be able to navigate the stairs to the front door. Pets: cat, bird (cockatiel), and a loveable rat ambasador in a fancy cage (NOT in your room). A bird lover's delight: watch wild birds and other wildlife from the Tree Study bedroom window, the living room, and the unique round deck in front and the spacious back deck. My home attracts people who like quiet, relaxing places, and lovers of nature.
Bloomington is 1 hour south of the Indianapolis International Airport. My neighborhood is a great walking neighborhood. Quiet. You can see the stars. Beautiful wooded area with sometimes mowed path in area in back of home. You will find my home has a flowing energy. It is a place "good for your soul" and, if you visit Bloomington often, I know you will be a repeat guest. I am happy to share the delightful and focused energy of my home with others.
  • I stayed at Elisa's Sacred Heights Airbnb for 4 days during a conference visit to Bloomington. It was absolutely everything I needed: a quiet place to sleep, a cozy house with a lot of colors and pets to keep me company! I had no issues at all. There is your own private bathroom, a small library, and a Chi Gong studio as well to do yoga should you want to do it. I had ginger tea made for me on my arrival! Yum! Elisa was awesome and super communicative and friendly!

    dawood2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • It's close enough to IU campus to make it convenient, and it's far enough away to escape the busy downtown and campus area. It was nice to return to a quiet place that was serene and beautiful. Elisa is a gracious host who is very accommodating and a great conversation. If you like nice interactions with your host, this is your place. If you are interested in Tai Chi, make sure you contact Elisa for opportunities to enjoy her professional studio and lessons. She has some animals who I enjoyed very much (try whistling the theme to the Andy Griffith Show to her cockatiel!). I will visit again if the place is available when I visit my IU student when I travel solo.

    Bob2017-11-05T00:00:00Z

Peaceful limestone ranch with a fenced in back yard, just 10 minutes from IU football, basketball, shopping, and restaurants.
Welcome to my 1960's Limestone Ranch. Now that I am an empty nester, I am ready to share my peaceful corner of the world with others. I successfully raised a family of five with a couple extras along the way. Even with 7 people, there was always plenty of space. I know you will love it as much as we do. Our common areas include a kitchen, living room, family room, and a large fenced in back yard with a deck. We like to sit on the porch swing next to our little goldfish/ frog pond and enjoy the evening. We also like to star-gaze in the 6 person hot tub late at night. When the weather cools down, there is a fire bowl with wood available. There is also a gas grill if you want to grill out. This house has three modest bedrooms. Believe it or not, at one time I had 4 girls in one room. (I wouldn't suggest that!) For the most comfort I think 2 per room is best. I do have a very nice roll out cot with a thick mattress if needed. Two beds have memory foam-gel mattresses. The queen has a standard mattress with a memory foam topper. All are very comfy. Entertainment at home includes a 55 in flatscreen TV. We have Netflix, a Roku, and Pandora as well as Directv. We have high speed internet. There is a Blueray and a ton of DVDs at your fingertips. Our family loves games so we have many fun options for family game night. You are close to Indiana University, shopping, restaurants, bars, movie theaters, parks, walking trails, and more. Driving in Bloomington is pretty easy, but if you prefer, Uber is available in our area. I hope you will enjoy your stay. If you have any questions, I would love to help.
We are approximately 10 minutes from everything in Bloomington! But if you need something close to home there is a grocery store, CVS, fast food, gas, pizza, and a liquor store about 2-3 minute away.
  • This is the perfect alternative to the scarce and costly hotels in Bloomington. Great home for one or two couples or a family with kids. There is only one bathroom, which can be inconvenient. But it wasn’t a major issue for our group. The large fenced-in backyard with a very nice deck provides a wonderful place for peaceful relaxation, as well as a playground for pets. The host, Missy, is communicative and helpful. She provided thorough guidelines, as well as all the amenities you need for a pleasant stay. All in all, we would highly recommend this home to anyone traveling in the Bloomington area. And our little dog, Sam, had a great time, too.

    Sid2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to IU. The house was spotless and everything was as described. No issues with internet. One thing that sets this apart is that unlike an apt or loft, there's a ton of space to spread out and not be on top of each other. And Missy could not have been more accommodating and sweet. We will definitely stay again.

    john henning2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Missy has a wonderful home with plenty of space for a family. The backyard is beautiful and the deck is great to spend time on a beautiful fall evening.

    Joe2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Missy is a wonderful hostess. She let us check in early as we were coming from out of town with our dogs. Her home is warm and welcoming, She has an awesome backyard patio setup that was beyond peaceful after a busy day with our son on campus. As this was our first time renting on this site we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

This is a rustic 2-story 950sf spacious guest house all to yourself. If you are visiting Bloomington and want a quiet place to retreat to that is away from the college party scene then this is for you.
This roomy and unique guest house comes with a rustic quality and sits just outside of city limits. From concrete counter-tops to "earthen plaster" walls this space contains creative features. There is a full kitchen, dining table, full bathroom, washer and dryer, and everything you need for a comfortable stay for a couple nights or a longer stay. The place has all you need for a comfortable retreat! There's a kitchen with dishes and utensils, gas stove/oven, cooking utensils, coffee maker w/complimentary coffee, tea, microwave, soap, and towels. Full bath with soap, shampoo, and towels. King and full-sized beds w/sheets and blankets, washer/dryer, wifi, TV with basic cable and DVD player with DVD selections, and sits on 4 acres of lawn, forest, and wildflower meadow. Main Floor: The kitchen and dining room windows look out into the large backyard with trees, birds and wildlife. Near the stairs (downstairs) you will find the bathroom with shower/tub, and pedestal sink. Hand soap as well as body soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. Upstairs is the king bed. Birch wood floors cover the entire building and many of the walls are covered with "earthen plaster" that is an all-natural, hand-made textured finish. Second Floor: the upstairs has a living room with a futon couch that can sleep 2 (full sized) and a 42" flat screen TV with basic cable (local channels up to channel 18) and DVD player. There is a smaller room that is open to the main upstairs room that houses a king-sized bed for 2 more adults. (this bedroom cannot be closed off from the main upstairs living room) If you want to have 5 or 6 people sharing this space then the last 2 can sleep on the full-sized air mattress complete with sheets, pillows, and blankets. Outside you can make use of the large yard, shade trees, lawn chairs and tables, and walking trails through the fields and forests. There is plenty of private parking space. Light-sleepers should know that the traffic can be a bit loud sometimes. Also note that I don't have a well-manicured lawn and sometimes I have nature classes for youth that meet on my property too (it's never been a problem for my guests but I like for people to have a heads-up).
This is a peaceful and quiet area with wildlife and a bordering nature preserve. You will have plenty of easy parking access. From here you can drive to Bloomington's East-side within 12 minutes, downtown within 12 minutes, West-side in 15 minutes, and I.U. campus within 10-12 minutes (take Hinkle Rd). You will also be close to Griffy Lake for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking.
  • Kevin was a great host! We felt right at home, and we enjoyed the gorgeous fall scenery. We slept very well, and the kitchen was perfect for cooking breakfast and preparing coffee.

  • The setting for this guest house is a beautifully scenic drive with an out-of-the-way yet close to IU campus location with woods in the backyard. Kevin was a very nice host, even running out for a coffeemaker and microwave to give his new place everything it needs, plus perfect recommendations for anything you'd need in Bloomington. Great location and spacious accommodations!

  • Came down with a group of guys to experience football weekend in Bloomington. We all loved the place. Clean, quiet, and just a quick drive down to campus. Really enjoyed having the full kitchen.

  • We had an excellent stay at Kevin's Airbnb. Kevin was very flexible, welcoming, and communicative, and he accommodated a special, last-minute request for an extra night, which was awesome. He checked on us and made sure we had what we needed, but he also gave us our space and privacy. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable, as described, and had everything we needed for our 5 night stay. I especially liked the small extra touches: the coffee and tea and the turn-down chocolate, as well as the free wifi and DVD player. The area is very beautiful and quiet, and yet close to the city and everything in Bloomington.

    Kaeleigh2016-01-26T00:00:00Z

  • Super nice place! If you are ever coming to Bloomington, this should be THE place for you to stay. The house is lovely, the environment is nice. There is just nothing I can complain about the place. My family was highly satisfied with the stay, and I found it the best value for the money.

    Eric2016-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying at Kevin's place! The house is wonderful - warm on our wintery stay, beautiful earth-based materials throughout the space, very comfortable, great king bed, full kitchen, wireless internet, nice big TV - has everything you need. Kevin was great about communicating with us and being accommodating. The grounds - wow!! There are several fire pits on the property, including one in the exquisite tipi out back, which was so neat. From the back of the property is a path straight into a forested nature preserve. What a beautiful stay. We hope to go back when the weather is warm to further enjoy the lovely space.

Walking in the 150 acres of woods while you are here will be an option. Waiting there for you to discover are creeks, springs, ponds.
  • Julia's place was a very peaceful, home-like, beautiful place for our family to gather. We very much enjoyed the outside space, the spacious porch, and the beautiful sunroom. The outdoor shower was a hit w/ my husband, and the basement game space a hit w/ our children! The kitchen was very fully equipped & more than functional. Everything was perfect!

  • Beautiful home and property. The house was clean and very family friendly. Julia was a great host. We had fresh baked bread and everything we needed for our stay. Can't wait to stay again when we come to Bloomington.

  • Our stay here at Julia's house was absolutely tremendous!! The home is warm and perfect for a relaxing family vacation. Julia's attention to detail with the amenities was second to none and made us all feel so welcome. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone and will be back for sure!!!

  • What a beautiful place! Julia was very welcoming, and her home was exactly what we were looking for. Lots of space to spread out and relax, and the location was perfect for our trip to watch the Wolverines play the Hoosiers. Bloomington is an easy 15 minute drive. We even got lucky and caught an 80 degree sunny October day for the game. We hope to return

  • A beautiful home in a peaceful location. Very cozy and spacious, perfect for our group of 8 for a girls weekend. We went in December and the house was decorated for the holidays and was so beautiful. The house itself had everything you'd need and expect--plenty of linens, towels, pots and pans for cooking, salt & pepper, etc. Check-in and out was easy and seamless, and Julia was so nice. We're hoping to come back sometime when it's warm out, to enjoy more of the outdoor activities!

    Anna2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Julia's family farm house for a birthday weekend getaway with family and friends and it was definitely one I will never forget. The home is set in a secluded and beautiful farm setting but is also very close to town in case you forget anything, you aren't stranded (although even if you did forget something you could most likely find what you need in at the house). The layout of the house is very open and all the rooms were stocked with everything you could need from extra blankets to cotton balls...I especially appreciated all the local and organic products. The huge wooden dining room table allowed us to eat several warm family-style meals together, which led to playing (provided) board games into the night. We really didn't have to bring anything besides sweats for lounging on the comfy feather-filled furniture and food for cooking- Julia did supply some local fresh bread, fruits and cheeses and the kitchen was stocked with any spices and cooking supplies/dishes you could ever need. The wrap around porch is a quiet and beautiful place for laughs with loved ones or a quiet and scenic space for self-reflection. This Airbnb goes above and beyond any expectations and I highly recommend booking. I really didn't want to leave when Sunday afternoon came around and I will definitely book again in the future! OH! and there is a really cute antique flea market named Pickin' Dixons at the end of the road if you need a quick outing! cheers!

Newly remodeled one bedroom cottage that resides on a quiet 18 acre farm. A beautiful view of wooded pasture from the kitchen and bedroom windows. This sprawling outdoor space is a perfect relaxing retreat for couples. Lake Monroe, McCormicks Creek State Park, or the IU Football and Basketball stadiums reside within a 20 mile radius. Ask about our dog boarding services next door for your furry friends!!
You'll be in a country setting when you stay here at the cottage. No neighbors, except some adorable sheep or cows!! Unlike in the city, you can see all the stars at night. The inside is very clean and spacious. The space is newly remodeled so we're adding more and more new things every week to make it feel cozy and comfortable!!!
We love it out here because it is just so beautiful. The sunsets are absolutely stunning. You won't be bothered by neighbors because the closest one is 1/4 mile away!! If you're looking for some quiet space to get out and enjoy nature this is the place to be!!
  • We enjoyed our stay at the cottage very much! Thank you !

  • Nice bonfire. No TV when we were there, so ask about that beforehand if a TV is important to you. WIFI is fast and reliable. Pillows were new and rather thick. Take your own if you like thin pillows. They provided plenty of helpful brochures about the area. Kitchen is well-furnished.

This unique hexagonal apartment has a private entrance, front and back decks, and attached sunken garden. As you enter you are welcomed into a cedar walled landing with a few steps down to a large den looking out onto the garden or up to the open two bedroom apartment. This is the perfect hideaway for a quiet visit in the hills of southern Indiana away from the the hustle and bustle of the city. This is not suitable for you to host extra guests and cars during your stay.
Original design, peaceful setting, proximity to university, Nashville artists colony, local wineries and golf courses as well as three breathtakingly beautiful state parks and boating on Lake Monroe, only a mile from Griffy Lake for hiking, canoeing and birdwatching.
The home is located just two miles from the IU stadium across a small lake surrounded by 2500 acres of university and city forests.
  • My apply was responded within an hour and the house was ready quickly. All the things match the picture. The house is very clean and there's enough towl and kitchen equequipment. The neighborhood is quiet and close to lake, not very convenient to walk though. In general, this is a very good stay.

    John2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late at night but were able to easily let ourselves into the cozy apartment. We were greeted with welcoming touches like the glow of candles, refreshments, and flowers. A nice greeting after a long day of travel. We were in the area to help move our son into his IU dorm and the apartment was so close to the campus (about 10 minutes) yet tucked away in a nice wooded area just up the road from a lake. Four of us comfortably stayed in the apartment -- plenty of room to move around. Communications with the hosts Virginia and Gary were excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable -- even allowing us to ship out dorm supplies to the apartment before we arrived-- a huge help for us since we were from out of state. We hope to visit again!

    Karen2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were very communicative. The house is much prettier than pictures I would say. Secluded and it was clean. Virginia left us fruits, muffins and juice. So kind of them. Its close to Bloomington.

  • Virginia was a great host and her home was the perfect Bloomington getaway. It had all the charm of old Bloomington and only 10 minutes away from downtown. The space was very comfortable and private with a beautiful outdoor area.

Our place is close to Indiana University, IU athletics, I-69/37 to Indianapolis, great views, family-friendly activities, nightlife, restaurants and dining. You’ll love our place because of the privacy - or the friendly neighbors (us), the beautiful outdoors space, the kitchen/great room, the hardwood floors, and the volleyball court and dance studio. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets - but no cats).
The home is a duplex originally maintained for a single multi-generational family of 5 with a roommate. Each end of the duplex is a complete home with separate entrances, separate driveways, kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, the whole nine yards. We (two gay men) live in one end with our Mom and four dogs. We're listing the other end for rent. This listing is for 1 bedroom. If you need more space, look for our other listings where you can rent multiple bedrooms or the whole house (3 bedrooms and an unlimited number of guests). We're happy to engage with visitors or leave them to their privacy. The home is L-shaped and shares a 1,200+ sq. ft. deck overlooking an immaculately landscaped yard/gardens and the Lake Griffey Nature Preserve. It's a short 2 mile hike through the woods to the lake from the back deck (if we're available to take you) or you can drive the 2 minutes down to the parking lot where there are marked trails. The five acres the home sits on also has a volleyball court and room for croquet or other yard games. YOUnique Studio is also a full-service hair salon and dance studio. Guests are welcome to join in classes or book a hair appointment (separate fees apply). This listing is for the messy but cozy basement which has a full-size bed and a single bed. The "bedroom" has a dresser, some shelf-space, a place to hang clothes, mirrors, an end-table, and side-chair. There is one entrance in/out of the basement, there are no egress windows. The kitchen is fully equipped. One of the full bathrooms has a 6' soaking tub and duel shower spouts (bathroom two). Bathroom one has duel sinks and a full-size tub and shower. You'll only have to share a bathroom if the other bedroom is booked at the same time as your stay. There is a washer/dryer in the basement. The home has wi-fi as well as basic cable TV. You can also use the large TV for watching movies on DVD or through your HDMI connected laptop. The home is not handicap accessible as there are stairs at each entrance. There are hardwood floors throughout and no stairs in all areas except into the basement and into the TV room.
  • The place was great! Both my dog and I were very comfortable and would definitely book again.

  • Tom was a terrific host. Tom's place was clean and perfectly suited our needs. Nice to wake up to the view of the Lake. Very accessible to Bloomington if you do not mind a short ride.

    Harold2015-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We just returned from an extended weekend at Tom's cabin at Lake Lemon. We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was perfect for our family, plenty of room for our twin boys, age 10 and their teenage brothers, ages 16 and 19. The upstairs loft had two very comfortable queen sized beds that were perfect for our boys, while my husband and I slept very comfortably on the downstairs futon. The cabin had everything we needed...a bathroom with stall shower, refrigerator and plenty of space to play games, read and just hang out. The cabin is surprisingly roomy and the air conditioning units kept everything very cool which was especially welcome! Lake Lemon is a beautiful area, with a nice nearby beach and lots of water activities. The cabin is close to Bloomington which, being first time visitors, was a great town to explore. The twins loved Wonderlab and our 16 year old was able to tour the beautiful IU campus. My husband and I were even able to sneak away to nearby Oliver Winery. Fun was had by all. This was our first experience using Air B & B and we could not be more pleased. Tom and his brother were great hosts and made everything so easy. Tom answered any questions and concerns and even helped us find our way when we got lost. He was attentive, friendly and helpful in every way. The cabin was clean, well stocked and surpassed our hopes and expectations.

    Jodi2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cabin. It was tidy, clean and very comfortable. The furnitures were simple but good for what We need, but it need to take a short drive from Bloomington. We had a good stay there.

  • Excellent place for a lake getaway. We had a great experience and would definitely book this property again. We had no trouble with the stairs but keep in mind if you physical limitations, they might pose an issue. However there is a futon on the first floor which could be used for sleeping.

    Mindy2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a terrific little cabin. It feels very new and clean. The photos don't really do it justice. There are two double beds upstairs, and a futon downstairs, so could easily sleep a large family. The kitchen is basic (has a plug in stove top, a microwave, refrigerator and freezer), but has all the essentials (dishes, silverware, cooking utensils etc). It is literally right behind the Port Hole bar. Even though the bar was rockin' the night we were there, we couldn't hear anything from inside the cabin. There are also air-conditioning units on both floors. I will just note that the stairs, while a creative way to deal with a small space, could be treacherous for toddlers or folks with disabilities. For our purposes, they were just fine. Thomas was a great communicator and was very flexible about our plans. It was such a good experience we're considering renting it again soon!

    Charity2015-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! We were in town to visit our brother at IU, and it was an easy 20 minute drive to the campus. House was clean and the beds were comfortable!

Enjoy a cozy room in my 1895 home. This is a single guest room within my home separated by doors on the main level. The perfect private space to offer to guests. This listing is for one room on the main floor with and access to the main level half bath and shared upstairs level full bath. Guest have access to our shared dining, kitchen, laundry and living space. Shared full bath is upstairs and has a claw foot tub with shower. We have an older cat named Spam but she is friendly!
Just 22 minutes from Bloomington and 45 minutes from Terre Haute we're in a perfect location! My 1895 home has been recently renovated and has an easy going eclectic feel. Fall in southern Indiana is an amazing site to see so book your weekend during the covered bridge festival here! Just minutes from McCormicks Creek state park or Cataract Falls State Park. This listing is for 6 total but there is only one queen size bed and one private room. We also have a futon, couch (noting this is in a shared living room which my family and I use) and/or two air beds for extras within the same room. This would be a combination 6 adults, 2 - 4 adults 2 children, 2 adults 4 children, etc. As long as you are ok with utilizing our living room we have extra space (which we would quietly and respectfully walk through in the mornings) and we have extra blankets! We would treat any guest sleeping on our futon in the living area as family and would do our best not to disturb guests. This listing offers 1 queen sized bed in a room with doors closing it off from the rest of the house. There is no restroom in this single room but instead we have a remodeled "water closet" with a tank sink just off of our kitchen on the same level. In total, this home has 2 half baths and 1 full bath. All restrooms are shared. We're a very easy going and friendly family but also respect privacy. We would love to have you stay in our home!
Cute, quiet, quaint, peaceful. That describes Spencer.

This is a great home a few miles from the IU campus & IU Memorial Stadium. 2 blocks away from city bus route and Cascades Park & Golf Course. The Retro Room. Enjoy a spacious and furnished living room and dining room, remodeled kitchen complete with microwave, stove, dishwasher, and full-size refrigerator. Modern washer/dryer on site.
Peaceful back deck, huge fenced-in backyard with a swing and garden plot. The fire pit in the backyard is available for use and includes a grill rack.
There used to be a swimming pool where this house was built, which is why the backyard is so huge. We are also right across from Cascades Park!
  • This is was my second time staying at Richard's place and I will definitely plan to go back when I need a place in Bloomington! It is so cozy and quiet, clean and comfortable, and Richard is very quick to respond and has been very accommodating of my scheduling needs. I highly recommend it!

  • Very pleasant house and room. I didn't ever meet anyone, but that was just fine with me. Richard left a key and all was as described. Very clean and pleasant. The location isn't walkable to IU or downtown but there's an hourly bus that stops less than a block away, and Bloomington has a nice app so you can check where the bus is located in real time.

  • This is the best Air BNB experience I have had. Richard's place was perfect for what I needed. Attention to detail and communication were excellent.
