Quiet, comfortable and contemporary cabin on 7 acres, situated between three of the most beautiful parks in Tennessee: Fall Creek Falls State Park, Savage Gulf Natural Area and Rock Island State Park. 45 minutes from Chattanooga.
A comfortable and contemporary cabin on 7 acres, located in the mountains of the Cumberland Plateau. Near several Civil War historical sites and situated between three of the most beautiful state parks in Tennessee: Fall Creek Falls State Park, Savage Gulf Natural Area and Rock Island State Park. The cabin is 15 minutes from downtown Dunlap, 45 minutes from Chattanooga and airport, and 2 hours from Nashville. Comfortably sleeps 8. Will consider groups up to 10 with pre-approval. Bring yourself, your family, and your friends to beautiful East Tennessee for a vacation filled with opportunities to hike, fish, canoe, swim, shop, or simply relax and recharge! Our upscale private cabin is surrounded by beautiful mountains and forest, yet with easy access to the main road and highway. There is a well maintained gravel road leading directly to the house, with new paved streets and four lane highways at the end of the road. The cool mountain air and beautiful sunrise will be a welcome start to your day, and don't be surprised if you see deer, turkey or foxes making their way through the property as you sip coffee on the deck. You may also decide to enjoy the steam sauna before or after your morning run or hike. Autumn is a wonderful time to visit, as the Fall colors are splendid. There is a gorgeous two hundred acre lake at Fall Creek Falls State Park, only 12 miles away. Park visitors may spend the day fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, or just enjoying the scenery. The cabin is very comfortable and fully equipped with everything you need for a terrific stay from high speed internet, HDTV, linens, towels, hair dryer, dishes, full cook wear and an outdoor state park style wood or charcoal burning grill for delicious BBQs. There's a large six person outdoor table with sun umbrella and chairs on the deck, as well as four log rocking chairs and camp chairs for use on the lawn. The cabin is also close to major shopping and restaurants in Dunlap, Sparta, Soddy Daisy and Chattanooga. Fine dining, night clubs, sea aquarium, museum, and River boat dinner cruises are offered in downtown Chattanooga.
Very quiet with only two other homes on this cul-de-sac road. No hunting allowed within this neighborhood. ATVs are also not allowed on the property.
  • Some friends and I just returned from Randy's cabin. I've stayed in many AirBnB properties, and this is definitely one of the cleanest places that I've ever stayed. The place is spacious, clean, and accommodating. The master bathroom shower is awesome! I love the fact that the deck is baby friendly as some of the places I've stayed in presented problems because a baby or small dog could easily fit through the deck railing. We were able to let the babies roam freely without any issues. Randy is an exceptional communicator, always responding to my emails very fast. We enjoyed visiting Fall Creek Falls State Park and walking around the neighborhood (though it's hilly!). We would definitely stay there again.

  • Randy is an extremely welcoming, involved, and informative host who loves this house, and it shows. He is very connected and available should you ever have any questions or need any recommendations. The house is lovely: clean, bright, cozy, well-decorated, and luxurious. Seriously, look at the bathroom and sauna. The kitchen was well-stocked with all of the dishes we needed to make meals, and all of the appliances are new. We really enjoyed having peaceful breakfasts while looking out of the huge back windows, and finishing the night with a movie and board game by the wood-burning stove. There were four in our party, and we felt well-taken care of and relaxed after our weekend in this beautiful setting. Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us; we look forward to returning.

  • We had such an outstanding time at Randy's mountain getaway. There was more than enough room for us as a couple and everything we needed was available--it's very clear that a lot of thought has been given to guest comfort. It was such a nice touch that they had several condiments available--it's always a pain to purchase a large quantity of something like ketchup. The gas stove was wonderful to use for cooking and the shower in the master bathroom is amazing--fantastic water pressure! The bed was very comfortable and there were lots of extra blankets for snuggling up--great air conditioning too which kept the entire place very comfortable. The wildlife in the area is beautiful; we saw deer (and fawns!), wild turkeys, buzzards, and more. The group of deer that hangs out on the road is not to be missed (just make sure you drive slowly!!) This was my absolute dream house and it made it so much more special when Randy called to ask how our stay was and told me that he built it from the ground up. Whenever we come to Tennessee we will be staying here if it's available!!

  • I loved staying at Randy's home in Dunlap! The house was beautiful with a lot of amenities including grill, sauna, and an Amazon streaming device. He made the check-in process incredibly easy and provided a clear manual with instructions to access everything in the home.

  • I fell in love with this beautiful property! We loved the seclusion, the luxurious amenities, and the location. We visited Fall Creek Falls during our stay and it was beautiful. Randall's cabin was the perfect home to come back to after a long day hiking. In particular, the kitchen was very well stocked and had everything we needed to make excellent meals. The market is relatively close by for food shopping. The TV had Netflix- great bonus! The beds were comfortable and the back deck was lovely for having a meal or just relaxing and watching the wildlife. I *loved* the claw foot tub and the amazing shower. I would absolutely recommend this home to my friends and family, and I hope to return soon. Thank you Randall!

  • This is a beautiful cabin. It was decorated for the holidays, which made it very festive and homey. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Our girls weekend was wonderful! The house was just perfect for us and we truly enjoyed the beauty around us. We hope to return for another adventure when the weather warms up.

  • Cheryl and Warren are lovely and I enjoyed my stay in nature. Their home is located a short drive from Chattanooga and also within an hour of several hikes and waterfalls. This is a dog friendly home and my dogs were in heaven both inside and outside the house. Bring a book and prepare to relax on the deck surrounded by deer, wild turkeys and hummingbirds.

    Melanie2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl and Warren were lovely hosts and their home was a beautiful and comfortable stop for us on a long trip!

    Katie2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This couple will take care of you. They went up and beyond my expectations for sure! Nestled on a mountain north of Chattanooga, this house can be a cozy spot for singles as well as the perfect romantic spot for married couples.

  • The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • I enjoyed the company of Cheryl and her husband very understanding, caring and loving people.

  • I can't say enough good things about this house and host! They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was amazing! The house is great and on a beautiful plot of land. The only slight downside to the house is it's about an hour from downtown Chattanooga. But if you want a weekend getaway in the woods with amazing host, you will not find a better place to stay!

    Sara2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was awesome! Cheryl was out of town, but Warren was very accomodating and friendly. David and I would definitely stay here again.

    Amanda2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • These hosts are SO accommodating! Cheryl went above and beyond what I expected from a host. The house was amazing and I cannot express how much I loved the secluded atmosphere. It was just what we were looking for. We drove to Fall Creek Falls state park one day and that evening we sat on the back deck eating our pizza and a deer walked right up into the yard! The driveway to the house was long, making you wonder if your still going the right direction but its so secluded and beautiful!

Our spectacular waterfall is just 400 feet from the back deck. The core of our 640 square ft. guest house is two CONEX shipping containers, but you'll have to look hard to see it. The warm pine interior, fireplace, large picture windows and French doors opening onto the deck, pond and wooded waterfall trail give it the feel of a cozy country log cabin. It's our "backup house", an experiment in sustainable living. Large kitchen with full sized oven/range and refrigerator, bathroom with shower/tub, bedroom with loft- 2 beds (single and double), living /dining room, reclining leather couch. Covered parking for one car. Gas barbecue and firepit on the deck. Enjoy weekend live entertainment at Monteagle's Smoke House, Fine Dining at Tracy's Tea House or Monteagle's High Point. Arrange a canoe expedition on Grundy Lakes, just 2 miles from our front door.
We live in a sustainable village that we founded, filled with loving, caring neighbors. Each in their own way is working towards self-sufficiency within a tight-knit community. We build our own houses, help each other with many projects, raise our own food, keep goats and chickens, maintain a large greenhouse, experiment with alternative energy, capture the rain from our roofs and enjoy life together. The Village features a large amphitheater with stage, barbecue facilities, gazebos and an outdoor, large screen projection theater.
  • Grant was super friendly! He took his time to show us around. A great host!

    Kelvin2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • I've dreamed my entire life of seeing waterfalls and butterflies in the same place and my dreams came true when I went to this perfect little corner of the world. Not even in my wildest dreams would I have ever imagined that I could have waterfalls and butterflies plus all of the added, very well thought out, details that the Millers give. Grant took the time to drive me around the area explaining every little crevice of this beautiful land. He and his sweet wife greeted me with burgers cooking on the grill when I arrived and we all sat down to a nice dinner in the cabin that included fresh veggies they grew in their garden. They made me feel like family instantly which was awesome since I was traveling alone. The property is beautiful, the waterfall is amazing, and the cabin is absolutely perfect. It was clean and comfortable and very accommodating. This was my very first Airbnb experience and I have to say that I seriously doubt anyone else will ever come close to topping the level of excellence that Grant and his wife have achieved The best thing about them is that they developed this little village so they live for this stuff. This isn't just a "side" thing that they offer to make a little extra money. This is actually what they set out to do. It's really beautiful and refreshing to see that there are people who still exist in this world that want to share their joy with others. I can't wait to go back there again.

    Melissa2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This shipping container home was a wonderful place to say. The Millers are both easy to talk to and very friendly, and love offering up advice about the area. The bed was comfortable and the property was gorgeous. Make sure to visit the falls, it is well worth the short walk! If I'm ever in the area again, which is pretty likely considering all of the great areas to go hiking, I'll be hoping for a few more nights at this cabin!

    Thomas2018-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Grant and his wife are excellent hosts. Our only issue was how close the host’s house was to the cabin and how the picture did not make that obvious nor was it mentioned in the ad. It’s about 4’ from the host’s house. We had to leave early due to illness but grant was a great host.

    Holly2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Well this was our first experience with air b&b. All I can say is the hosts are fantastic. Their property is wonderful. They are so welcoming and really want to share the magic of their property with you. If you need a little getaway surrounded by beautiful Tennessee wilderness then you will be pleased. Full kitchen that is well stocked with pans and utensil also. Will be back.

    Brett2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay! I wasn't at the home much since I was sightseeing and visiting family but the hosts communicated with me and were easily available by phone, text, messaging, etc. Everything was very clean and the location is quiet and beautiful. Grant was very accommodating to our late check-in (midnight) and called me ahead of time to answer questions and offer tips to find the home in the dark. I printed directions and drove straight to the house with no problems. I would definitely recommend!

  • Beautiful location in the quiet woods with a creek, waterfall & gorge. Cozy and clean accommodations with special attention by our friendly host, Grant. I’ll be returning for R&R and to hike in more of the numerous surrounding state parks. Great stay!

    carol2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place. Beautiful, remote, clean, and comfortable. The perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the mountains. Top notch hospitality, communication, and plain old Southern charm. I almost regret having to write this review, as it will probably in some small way decrease my chances of being able to book this perfect mountain getaway! But for the sake of honesty.... 5 stars across the board!

  • Grant & Becky were delightful hosts. The cabin is well appointed and very clean. We were in the area for a wedding so we didn't get to spend much time there. However, the time we did spend was very enjoyable. I would recommend to anyone who wants to get away from the rat race and in touch with nature.

  • We had a great stay at this cabin. The place is as described, and the waterfall was beautiful!! Grant is a great host and an excellent guide!

  • I had a lovely time. Everything was provided and the views are terrific.

    Natalie2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The quiet cabin is beautiful and surrounded by lush forest and a nearby waterfall. It's newly built and very clean. The Millers were very friendly and accommodating, showing us a lay of the land for hiking as soon as we arrived. Based on the description, we weren't sure if there would be a tv, so we brought a computer and watched dvds at the end of our unplugged days in the woods. This place was exactly what we were looking for -- to get away from city bustle, cell phones, distractions...We couldn't believe how affordable this incredible space was!

    Rachel2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • We escaped to this great little cabin for a break from the the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. The neighbors were a little closer than expected, but everyone was respectful of our space and privacy. The host was very communicative, helpful, and friendly. The back deck and yard area was amazing, and the private waterfall just a short walk from our back deck was beautiful. This place was perfect for what we were needing!

Uncle Nathan's Cottage was the home of Nathan Bracken who was the house slave to Col. Armfield, founder of Beersheba Springs Resort. After he was freed he continued to work for the Col. and lived in Beersheba until he died. The cottage is across the road from the Beersheba Methodist Assembly , a short drive to the Great Stone Door park entrance, Greeter Falls hiking and swimming and Cumberland Caverns. The front porch is screened and a great place for reading, games, music, gossip and solitude.
We have been coming to Beersheba Springs for over 50 years and it never gets old. We bought this house over 25 years ago when it looked kinda like it does now but not exactly; but it did have a large family of groundhogs under the house.) Updated features include: - loft -screened in front porch - back porch - central heat and air - 2 gas fireplaces - 1 wood burning fireplace - Crab orchard stone floors in kitchen and baths - heart of pine flooring - full bathrooms - great kitchen, etc.
There is a small library close by and a local softball field you may catch a game on weekends. Stone Door State Park and recreation area entrance is a three minute car ride away and the trail to the overlook is a mile long and paved halfway. Greeter Falls trail head is about seven minutes away. The trail to the falls or to Blue Hole for swimming is a relatively short hike. You will be surprised by a spiral staircase in the woods.
  • Uncle Nathan's is a wonderful weekend getaway. A beautiful clean cabin in a beautiful part of Tennessee. If you are an outdoor enthusiast or just want to relax you can do it all here. Wonderful hiking trails are close by or you can just chill at the cabin. John was the consummate host and answered all of our questions and had everything ready for us when we arrived. We hope to be back again soon. This place won't remain a secret for long.

  • Uncle Nathan's is a beautiful place, located right around the corner from Phil Mayhew's pottery house and several lookouts (great hiking around here).. and a 3 minute drive from Stone Door (incredibly hiking)! Easy access and a comfy bed, everything we needed in the kitchen to cook all weekend (even a smoker outside). Highly recommend!!

  • Uncle Nathan's is a great place! Cozy and clean. Spacious and beautiful. Artwork is awesome. Front porch is the absolute best!! Spent every minute possible there. Beersheba Springs is a tiny place with a wonderful history. Make sure to allow time to take the walking tour. And don't forget to visit the little shop "Mountain Home Gifts" just a block away. Located in one of the beautiful old homes of Beersheba, it is a gift shop and antique museum! There is a Beersheba museum as well. Tiny but interesting! The area is gorgeous and full of beautiful hiking trails. A wonderful place to really get away!

  • This cabin was perfect for a quick weekend getaway from Nashville. Enoch and Kristin were very responsive and helpful in making checking in and out a smooth process. The cabin was very spacious with plenty of room for us to have 3 couples as well as our dogs. We were very excited to find that the back yard was fenced in and enjoyed sipping coffee on the back porch while watching the dogs play. The only negative aspect of this home was that the master bedroom was saturated with the smell of cigarette smoke. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this home to others.

This two bedroom remote cabin is located on the Cumberland Plateau between Monteagle & McMinnville in the National historic district of Beersheba Springs.Three acres of wooded bluff property overlooks Savage Gulf & provides a secluded, quiet getaway.
A beautifully maintained remote cabin constructed of 100 year old poplar logs is nestled on the bluff over-looking the Savage Gulf. The downstairs consists of a comfortable living room area, kitchen, bedroom with a queen size bed and bathroom with a shower. Upstairs loft consists of two twin size beds, overlooking the living room. (Beautiful hardwood floors throughout the cabin). Kitchen is equipped with electric oven/ stove, refrigerator and cookware and dishes. Enjoy rocking on the front porch while enjoying the view of the valley. TV and local cable channels.
Things to do in the area: Stone Door: (10 minute drive to Rangers station/parking lot at most ~ 4 miles) From our house, return to Hwy 56 and turn left at the Grace Methodist church. – go about .5 miles on Hwy 56 just past the Methodist assembly and you will see signs pointing to Stone Door. Park at the ranger station, sign in…enjoy a 1 mile hike to the bluff! It is spectacular!! This easy trail affords one of the best views of the gulf area and ends at the Great Stone Door, an impressive crack in the rock bluff with a sloping floor that probably was used by Native Americans as a way in and out of Big Creek Gulf. Camping is available at the Stone Door Camp Area near the ranger station. Take the paved trail by the Stone Door Ranger's Station to Laurel Gulf Overlook. Continue following the rim of the gulf (with fantastic views) till you get to the 'Stone Door.' The Stone Door is a small split in the rock where you can reach the bottom of the cliff line. The South Cumberland State Park web site says: "The Stone Door was used for centuries by the Indians as a passage way from the top of the escarpment into the gorges below. Like a giant door left ajar, the crack is 10 feet wide and 100 feet deep. Go thru the “Door” and continue down to the base of the cliff for a great view of the cliff from below. ●Greeter Falls: From our house, return to Hwy 56 – turn right at the Grace Methodist church and go about ½ way back towards Altamont. There is a Brown sign denoting where to turn in for Greeter Falls. There is a parking area once you get down the gravel road…follow the blazed trail. This is a more challenging hike than Stone Door, but well worth the effort. Once you’ve seen the spectacular falls and are back on the trail, you may wish to go back by a different path toward Boardtree Falls, which will eventually loop back toward the trailhead. ● Beersheba Porcelain: (after 12 noon, please) From our house: return to Hwy 56 – turn left at the Grace Methodist church. – stay on Hwy 56 just past the Methodist assembly. Turn left on Dahlgren Ave. Take the 1st right onto Beersheba Lane. Shop is in 1st house, (fence around the yard). This is a home based business in the in the historical community of Beersheba Springs. Usually open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. most days. All porcelain pottery and wearable art jewelry are completely hand-made from their own porcelain recipe and fired in hand built kiln. ● Cumberland Caverns: about 35 minute drive. From our house turn left on Hwy 56 and go down the mountain towards McMinnville (about 17 miles). Turn right on Fairview Road and right on Hwy 8. Knowledgeable guides lead leisure tours every hour on the hour. No Reservations Required. The 1½ mile tour features incredible formations, a historic 1812 saltpeter mine, a beautiful waterfall and gleaming pools. ● University of the South: – about 40 minute drive (30 miles) From our house turn right on Hwy 56 for about 17 miles. In Tracy City, make a right on Hwy 41 North, then right on Hwy 41A at High Point restaurant in Monteagle. Cross I-24 and go a few more miles into University of the South at Sewanee. Known familiarly as “Sewanee” by its students, faculty, staff and friends, The University is located atop the Cumberland Plateau on a 13,000–acre Domain (as the campus and surrounding area is known). Be sure to stop in the All Saints chapel on University Avenue and the Sewanee Memorial Cross (sits in a wooded area on the edge of a bluff on the campus (drive out Tennessee Avenue on the Campus) Eating options on this excursion: Shenanigans (931) 598-5774 (great and very casual sandwich shop on the campus) Pearl’s Foggy Mountain Cafe: dinner only - (931) 598-5770 need reservations High Point – dinner only (931) 924-4600 may need reservations
  • The mountain house was the perfect place for our four day get away! The views were absolutely spectacular, the house was even more beautiful than pictured! Communicating with Rebecca was easy, she was quick to respond and very polite. We wish we had more time to stay!

  • Super great place, with a breath taking picturesque view. Highly recommend.

    Robert2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was very accurate and the cabin was cozy and comfortable. Some really great views from the porch, and the neighbors were very nice (although we still enjoyed the privacy of Beersheba Springs). The AC worked wonderfully and felt great after a hot day at an outdoor wedding. I would love to stay here again sometime.

  • We had a great weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and the surrounding area. Great location for hiking. Enjoyed Sewanee nearby. Interactions with Rebecca were helpful! We will be coming back again.

  • We had an amazing time! The cabin was exactly as described and Rebecca was very helpful!! The view was spectacular as well. Thank you for providing us with great memories.

  • This is a great place to get away from it all. Great view and lots of places to go and enjoy Nature. The house was a great size for our 2 kids and us and we had plenty to do.

    John2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • They were there at their larger cabin when we arrived. They were very helpful and allowed us to use their deck to watch the fabulous sunset when they were not there.

  • The only contact I had with the host was via text. She was very quick to respond and informed me of what to expect when I arrived. My friends had a wonderful time staying at this cabin. It was so peaceful and serene with an amazing view. It was so secluded that we couldn't see any houses around us. The beds were great and there was plenty of accommodations inside the cabin to be comfortable for our entire stay. We truly enjoyed the Tennessee backwoods of Beersheba Springs. Thank you!

Do you want to truly disconnect and relax? If so, this is the place for you. The cabin overlooks part of the Savage Gulf State Natural Area, and it sits on the edge of a bluff which has great 180 degree unobstructed views of the mountains and valley below. It has activities such as a basketball court, tennis court, and hiking. You’ll love this cabin because of the coziness and how rustic it is. Great for couples, solo adventurers, families (children 2 years or older), and medium size groups.
The wood on the main part of this cabin comes from an old farm house that was built in the 1800's an hour away from Beersheba Springs, torn down, and reassembled at its current location. You can even see old spray paint from when our family marked the logs to reassemble them like a large puzzle. The two large porches provide a wonderful outdoor living space that helps you soak in that 180 degree view of the mountains and valley below. There is even a couch swing so you can take a nap or enjoy the view with several of your closest friends or family. There is a working wood burning fire place that helps add even more charm to your stay. Outside of the basketball and tennis courts there is a game and puzzle closet to keep you busy on those cold and rainy days. There is also a life size jenga as well as a cornhole set located in the downstairs suite. This cabin has everything you need to truly relax and spend quality time with your closest friends and family.
Beersheba Springs, TN is off the beaten path and is somewhat of a secluded neighborhood. Do not expect to see many people although you may see others taking a stroll down Backbone Rd. Do expect to see some animals, a few bugs, and beautiful scenery.
  • The host was very helpful when answering all of my questions. The view from the back porch was incredible and we really enjoyed sitting out there in the mornings. The cabin was rustic, but it has everything that you'll need to be comfortable. The town is very small, so it's ideal if you're trying to get away from everything. You have to drive a ways to reach a quality grocery store, so it's best to stock up on the way there. But there are markets nearby that have some basic items if you run out or forget something. Overall, we had a great experience.

    Matthew2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin reminded me of visiting my grandmother as a child. Such a beautiful setting, kids could explore and play, the cabin had everything we needed to relax. We’d book it again in a heartbeat.

    Carmen2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot! We had such a great time! Very clean and stocked with everything you need. Will definitely book again!

  • The VIEW!!! Wow! Breathtaking!! We loved this place. Excellent size for our group of 8. Quiet. Secluded. Close to great hiking and falls. Fantastic property!

    Amanda2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing place for a quiet get away. We came up to hike. There are miles of trails (some with waterfalls or swimming holes) within a 30-minute drive. Maybe print out some maps for yourself beforehand, because we had trouble using the maps app on our phone while we were there. The host gave detailed directions to their cabin, plus directions to a near-by hike (Stone Door) which was lovely. The view from the cabin is incredible. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and the fireplace was a treat when the weather got cool in the evening. Our kids loved it!

    Olivia2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is everything we wanted in a getaway. No internet, practically no phone signal, rustic, a stunning view, and very close to so many nature trails. The cabin is adorably decorated and incredibly well-stocked by way of seating, beds, and kitchen supplies (including, though not mentioned, a coffee maker, and quite a good one). I would recommend - and have already recommended - to anyone and would love to go back!

    Taylor2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • I almost hesitate to write a review because I don't want people to find out about this amazing gem of a cabin! If you like things new and pristine, this isn't the place for you. But if, like me, you love old quilts, creaky floors, rickety rocking chairs, and wood-burning fires, this charming Goldilocks cabin fits the bill. The back porch is massive and the view is breathtaking. As I sat there with my morning coffee each day, I gradually felt the stress and grime of the city melt away. The whole family enjoyed hiking to Greeter Falls, walking around the United Methodist Assembly campground, and visiting Mountain Home Gifts (we took Alfred's advice and met the lovely owner, Tommie, who gave us a tour of the historic home and offered us water from her indoor well!). All in all, one of our best Airbnb experiences yet. We hope to return soon.

    Erin2017-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Alfred was great to work with and you can tell thst the cabin is special to him and his family. It was more spacious than we expected and the views were breathtaking from the deck. Even though we made the 1.5 hour trip to Chattanooga most days, we loved the location of the cabin for the piece and quiet of being out of the city. While rustic, it had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing getaway. Close to waterfalls and some hiking. Thank you for such a great place to stay.

Our place is close to the Fiery Gizzard State Park, Stone Door State Park and Grundy Lakes State Park, art and culture, restaurants and dining. You’ll love the views from every window of the cabin. 2 bedrooms with a full bathroom surround an open living space with views of the lake. The kitchen has been upgraded with all the extra's. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with children too).
The cabin is located overlooking Grundy Lakes State Park. The view from the deck is fantastic. The cabin includes a large deck, patio with built in firepit and a grill. WiFi is free and cable TV is available.
This property and cabin has a history that is very unique. It began in 1946 as a summer camp for girls and boys. They came from many different states every summer. Many have returned as adults to see the renovations and are very happy at what we have done so far. In the 1980's the camp was owned by a gentleman that had a glass blowing factory in the main building. We currently have the glass pieces that he left behind shown there and it is for sell. He also collected crystals and memorabilia. This is also in the same building and available for purchase.
  • This place is perfect for a weekend getaway. The house is a great blend of old and new. Modern touches with classic rustic style. Property is very unique situated in the middle of an old children's camp. 5 min. Walk to Grundy lakes. Our favorite part was sitting on the back deck and watching the sun rise through the trees over coffee. Great place to stay for couples who like the outdoors but with modern comforts at night.

  • Loved the place. Rustic and secluded with modern amenities. Cynthia and Charles were great hosts, immediately responsive to all questions. They actually seemed to care that we enjoyed ourselves. Isolated yet very close to the small town. Truly the best of both worlds. Oh and btw I caught a 5lb Catfish in the lake. Bob

  • Everything was great from the first moment we were greeted warmly and told all about the history of the place. We love staying in exciting and interesting places so this place was a sure winner! We loved walking around and exploring all the cabins. It was a fun experience and even the lake nearby was a nice treat. We enjoyed our stay and went on a few hikes close by to see the falls. We also visited a local farm that makes some of the best cheeses! Check out the Sequatchie Cove Creamy during your stay! Had a great trip! Thanks again!!

    ashley2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is an awesome place. The cabin is clean and the location is isolated. It is built on a derelict boys & girls summer camp. They have a long term vision of cleaning out all of the old camp buildings and putting up several more modern cabins. I don't know that I would have liked that as much as I did the current setup. The cabin sits on 60 acres and is surrounded by old and often falling down summer camp buildings. It is one of the most unique places that I have ever stayed. I visited with my wife and two boys (4 and 6). The boys loved walking through the woods and looking into the old buildings. The owner also came by and loaned us a metal detector which was a huge hit. The owners are fantastic. Area: There is very little to do in the area other than hiking and relaxing. There are also very few people which is great. We much preferred this area to the Fall Creek Falls area, which we visited last year. One caveat, you will read that the Dutch bakery in Tracy City is super. We got 4 different baked goods and all were terrible. They must bake things once a week, wrap them in plastic, and let them sit until they are bought or the mold becomes visible. The cookies have to be horrible if hungry little boys are unwilling to finish them.

    Zac2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. My husband was a camper at Camp Mountain Lake and he loved seeing the old cabins. He found his name written on a cabin wall and told story after story about his summers at the camp. The cabin that we stayed in was beautifully redone. It was really clean and cozy. We had everything we needed for a great weekend. The owners are very helpful and the communication was great. We will definitely stay here again.

    Michelle2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • My wife had a conference in the Nashville area and we added a few extra days to explore the back roads of Tennessee. Being our travels would have us near the Sequatchie Valley, the Moonshine Runners cabin was one of the options. I loved the idea of stepping back in time of our American history and it worked with some of our other site-seeing adventures. We needed some dinner ideas on a Sunday evening and she suggested a wood fired pizza place about 30 minutes away. The view was beautiful as the sun was setting over the Tennessee River valley painting the clouds in yellows and reds. Tracey City and rural Tennessee is a great place to meet the friendly people of Tennessee.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The area is beautiful, especially in the fall. It’s a short drive to Suwanee, The University of the South. It was perfect for a romantic weekend getaway.

  • Cindy was a wonderful host! We loved the cabin- it was incredibly charming and homey. Would definitely recommend!!

    Victoria2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed the moonshiners cabin. The way they have it set up works really well. You do sacrifice a living room space for more sleeping space to maximize occupancy, but it’s still worth the stay. The kitchen space is pretty big to allow for a common gathering space. We stayed during freezing temps and stayed plenty warm. It has tons of character. It is located on the fringe of downtown Tracy city, there is a coffee shop and bakery within walking distance. Also a handful of local restaurants. The town is small, but the city of monteagle is about. Ten minute drive and has more to offer. I would suggest visiting fiery gizzard state park if you’re looking for a pretty hiking opportunity. It’s about a 5 minute drive from the cabin. If you’re looking for a mountain adventure, this is a good one.

    Ben2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much! We had such an amazing time here. The information that Cindy shared with us was invaluable and the history was an added bonus. Check out Foster Falls if you have the time it was relaxing. Roomy cabin with accommodations. Tracy City is very small but so cute and the bakery is a must go.

This 3000 sqft gorgeous cabin is the perfect location on the Cumberland Plateau to reconnect with; your family, friends, nature and yourself! We are off the beaten path, nestled on 200 acres of private property with all the amenities needed. The Point is less than 10 miles off the interstate, 7 miles from the quaint town of Tracy City, and a short 15min drive to Sewanee! The Pointé offers all levels of outdoor comfort with a covered living area, screened porch, and large fully exposed deck.
The original cabin was 1250 sqft built by a father and son, to be the adult son's family getaway. After the father passed and the son's family grew he wanted a bigger space that did not remove the memory of his father. A gorgeous addition of 2000 sqft was completed in Oct 2017. The original and new addition are seamlessly connected making The Pointé a stunning 3000 sqft home away from home large enough for the entire family! The double door entry brings you directly to the heart of the retreat into 2000 sqft of open space; kitchen, dinning, living, and bar area. Picturesque vaulted ceilings and wall to wall windows are featured in this area with beautifully simple decor. In the kitchen you have access to all appliances and dishes needed for your stay. The dining room table seats 10 comfortably and the bar area is a great place to belly up to for tall tales or for the kids to play board games. Off the living space is a covered outdoor living room with seating and another island area for entertaining or eating. The rest of the deck raps all the way around the backside of the cabin and is uncovered so that you can take in the scenery from inside as well. This stunning home features 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Downstairs there are 2 master bedrooms; 1 king bed and private bath, 1 Queen bed connected a communal bathroom. Both bathrooms feature large walk-in showers, outdoor lighting, and are very spacious. The 3rd bedroom is up a wide, easy flight of stairs with 2 queen beds. If your preference is to be outside enjoying nature; you also have access to explore great trails, a couple waterfalls, and spectacular views all within walking/hiking distance of the cabin.

  • This cabin was above and beyond our expectations. Definitely worth every penny. Beautiful and cute set up!! The only thing I didn't love was the bed, it was very firm. But other than that everything was so perfect. Will be back again for sure!!

  • The Best experience. You will not be disappointed!! The cabin looks small from the outside but inside it is roomy and has everything you need. I would recommend this cabin to any and everyone who wants a quiet, rustic stay with all the amenities of home. We enjoyed 9 cool nights around the fire pit and watched a Harvest moon rise through the trees! We watched meteors flash across the night sky and deer scamper across the winding road! The view across the way was breathtaking!!! Couldn't ask for nicer hosts. Sure beats staying in a sterile hotel for the same price.

  • Quiet, clean and cozy! If I ever need a place to stay in the Chattanooga area again I will definitely be booking with Susan!

  • We had a wonderful time. The cabin is cute as a button. After hiking each day we enjoyed star gazing in the hot tub. We would stay again.

  • This cabin is so cute and cozy. It is decorated so nicely and is very comfortable. The spa was great, my kids loved it as did my husband and I. It has such a homey feel to it. Perfect for family with kids or just a couple. The host communicated with us quickly and was super nice. My family and I wilk be returning in the future. I highly recommend this cabin.

  • Quiet and peaceful! Susan’s directions are spot on! We enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit roasting marshmallows and making s’mores. The Sparrow’s Nest was comfortable and very accommodating. I enjoyed playing a game of BIG checkers with my son and lost. Great place to get away from the busyness of the city. Definitely would visit again.

    Cheryl2018-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is very well kept nice clean with a home away from home feel to it! It's not far from all the fun things to do in downtown chattanooga and hiking at the prentice state park is also nice! Highly recommend and I see my family returning in the future..

  • Excellent location for a quiet get-away. The nearest grocery store is about 20 minutes away. Downtown is 30 minutes away. Both drives are exceedingly easy and feel very quick. We did not see any noteworthy traffic over our 4 night stay. My wife and I both agreed we would stay here again the next time we had the chance.

  • Beautiful older cabin. Great Location. The only problem for us was not having a TV in every bedroom or a DVD player. But I probably didn't research that part. But we still had a wonderful time in a beautiful cabin.

  • Great house! We couldn't have been more pleased! It's a bit of a drive to stores so just plan to have snacks and food on hand. The house was amazing! Three bedrooms had huge walk in showers. The basement bedroom had a neat claw foot tub with shower attachment. The outdoor fireplace was fun! Upstairs bedrooms each had it's own balcony. Highly recommend! Wifi and dish tv on site.

Welcome to the Log Chalet on the Clouds. This beautiful 3 bedroom / 2 bath cabin is wonderful for couples, but also has plenty of room for the entire family or a group of friends. Secluded over 1500 feet and high atop Walden's Ridge in Chattanooga, the cabin overlooks the beautiful Sequatchie Valley and has what many call a million dollar view of one of longest and most beautiful Valleys in the world! *Note- 9.75 percent sales tax will need to be collected upon arrival.
The Chalet is located just 20 minutes from downtown and the Aquarium. You can enjoy the view from almost every room in the cabin and so many of my guest have called this a million dollar view and commented how the pictures on the website don't do it justice. The sunsets are absolutely gorgeous and at night when you are relaxing by the fireplace or sitting in the Hot Tub it looks like a thousand candles are lit in the valley below. There is a wonderful active 3-D TV that is not only great for the kids, but brings out the 'Kid' in all of us! There is also a 3-D TV in the kids room (bunk beds) and a TV in every bedroom. With over 500 channels and plenty of 3 D movies to choose from it can make even the occasional rainy day fun and relaxing. With a full kitchen and breakfast bar you can enjoy your meals right at home or you can venture out to the many wonderful restaurants downtown. The bedrooms downstairs are furnished, one with a queen sized memory foam bed an the other with bunk beds that are perfect for the kids or those extra friends. The upstairs loft also has a furnished bedroom with a queen sized memory foam bed that is ideal for another couple and the loft view through the large fixes glass windows is simply spectacular! My guest often comment how comfortable the beds are and they are like sleeping on a cloud. The front deck is equipped with rocking chairs and a beautiful wrought iron table and chairs to enjoy those outdoor meals and relaxation. With the seclusion of the mountain, yet only 20 to 25 minutes from downtown and the Aquarium there's is just so much to do in Chattanooga. Weather you want to visit Rock City, Ruby Falls, go hiking, spelunking or even white water rafting there is something to do for all ages and every interest. I hope you get a chance to check out the list of different adventurers and fun things to do in Chattanooga that is provided on my website. I also hope that you get a chance to ask me about my smaller 1 bedroom cabin as well, which is called the Log Cabin in the Clouds. In over the last 10 years, I am proud to say that not only do I have over 185 - Five star reviews, but many of my guest have returned year after year and referred so many family and friends which I appreciate and consider the highest compliment of all. I hope you will get a chance to visit either one of my cabins, or bring your entire family and friends and rent them both! They are far enough apart to give complete privacy, yet with a beautiful stair way and trail that ties them together you can get together and meet up for dinner, conversation and a night by the fire pit. I very much appreciate the chance to give you a fantastic vacation or get-away experience. I know you will enjoy them as much as everyone else has!
  • This is a fantastic cabin. Well constructed, comfortable and clean. The view is incredible. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. There are many high end touches and although it seems alot further out, you are literally 20 minutes to the city. We stayed in the winter season and the cabin is very comfortable. Two considerations I will mention are the driveway is very steep if you are a flatlander but drivable. There are also quite a few stairs to get up to the main level. Given the view and location these issues are pretty common and worth the reward.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Leslie's place. We absolutely loved their dogs. We were attending a program at isha institute of inner sciences and their place was very convenient for attending the program. The house was warm, clean and beautifully decorated.

  • Leslie replied to my emails promptly and replied each time I emailed her. She was very understanding to my in-law's health issues and our needs to care for him. This host was kind, responsive, and polite. The location is the TN mountains, and what's not to love about that? We hope to be able to stay there some time in the future!!!! Thank you, Leslie.

    Kristen2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at Leslie and Al's place for a long-term (10 week) stay from late May- early Aug, and we loved it. The apartment is very spacious. The kitchen is a full-size kitchen and has all the implements you need to cook (there's not a lot of restaurants in the area, so we cooked every meal all summer in that kitchen). If we needed something, like another chopping knife, Leslie grabbed one for us right away. The kitchen also has cleaning supplies, paper towels, and dish rags. The bathroom is full-size, very nice, and comes with towels, cleaning supplies, and a bunch of shampoos/conditioners/lotions, etc. One bedroom has a double bed (including sheets) and then a huge bedroom king-size bed with the bunk bed, also all fitted with sheets. There are fans in every room, so we only needed AC in the very hottest summer days. There's a TV, cable, and wifi. Leslie and Al are very friendly and we enjoyed being on their property. Al tends to be out around the yard during the day doing yardwork, etc, and we'd stop and say hi and chit chat some days, but he does his own thing and he'd be back in his house by late afternoon. Leslie works in Chattanooga and stays overnight there sometimes, but whenever we saw each other, we'd stop and chat. They also stayed at their lake house frequently, so overall, we had a great mix of neighborly interactions and also total privacy. The property is incredible. Al keeps trails cleared throughout the woods, and we liked to stroll around in the woods or just sit in the backyard looking at stars. We made a fire in the firepit a few times over the weekend, and we enjoyed the hottub on their awesome deck a couple times when they were out of town. We walked around the 'neighborhood' (rural area, so just country roads with houses on 5+ acres). I'd note there are dogs on the property, but we loved them (and the neighbor dog). Overall, I'd definitely recommend staying here. I know Leslie has another long-term renter for the moment, but when the property is available again, it was a great place.

    taylor2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is a glorious hide-away with all the comforts of home. My friends and I came for the eclipse but found so much more. Leslie is a very accommodating host and a lovely person. I'd recommend her lovely place to anyone and everyone!

    Hank2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie and Al's mountain apartment meets every expectation- excellent location to rewarding hikes and close enough to any bigger city of your choice. They went above and beyond and we thoroughly appreciated every measure. Thanks!

This is a complete glamping experience! Think tiny house. This 12x12 tree house is equipped with an outdoor kitchen, a table for two, lounger and chair, wifi, smart TV with Netflix, Hulu and showtime, HBO now. air conditioning, board games, books, comfy queen bed, air conditions, gas log, coffee, greenhouse bathhouse, and fire pit. It is located just 16.2 miles from Fall Creek Falls State Park and 9 miles from Savage Gulf Natural Area on the Cumberland Plateau.
This glamping experience will give you something to talk about for a long while. Close to great hiking trails in both Savage Gulf and Fall Creek Falls State Park, secluded in the woods, yet close (3 miles to dollar general and 12 mikes to Walmart) to a few groceries and gas, if you love glamping, you'll love it at Deer Camp! The cabin is 12'x12' and every piece of furniture has been specifically chosen for your experience. It is COZY!!! Besides the queen bed and lounger, there's a table for two, a chair, a gas log fireplace, throws and throw pillows to snuggle up in. Board games and books and a smart TV with Hulu and showtime, Netflix, and HBOnow are the various forms of entertainment, or you can sit around the fire pit and make s'mores or roast hot dogs or just tell ghost stories. Or if you have the talent, bring your guitar and play a few songs. Coffee can be made in the 12 cup stainless percolator or the pour over method is available. Or make hot cocoa or hot tea. Showering offers its own experience in the greenhouse bathhouse with the on demand, unlimited hot water camp shower. This is its own experience. Have you ever showered in a greenhouse? With a gas log fireplace? And the entire camp is lit up with string lights. So even if you need a trip to the bathhouse at night, the rock path is well lit when you turn on the porch light. It's glamping. Camping without packing all the gear. The camp kitchen is stocked with pans and paper plate and cups and utensils, you have a warm bed to crawl into, firewood is provided for the fire pit, coffee and hot beverages are provided, and soft towels in the bath house. All of the camping experience without camp neighbors and without the packing. Just bring your clothes and food and enjoy this unique experience! And if you sit quietly on the porch, you're almost certain to see many forms of wildlife. If you don't see it, you'll certainly hear the coyotes yipping and howling and the owls hooting. A bear sighting is possible as is a bob cat and / or coyote (both sighted in the middle of day running through camp) and seeing deer is almost a certainty. There are mountain lion, though they are the most reclusive of all.
16.2 mile from Fall Creek Falls State Park 9 miles from Savage Gulf Natural Area
  • Outstanding home and amenities. Couldn't think of a single thing I wished I had while staying at Deer Camp. Hospitality was second to none. 10/10 would recommend Mitch and Lori's place to anyone. Many thanks!

  • Deer Camp is completely awesome!! We were treated to a First Class stay. We drove up at night and could see the beautiful cabin through the trees. A fire was lit for us in the fire pit, and we were greeted by Mitch and Lori. They are the most generous and gracious hosts, who showed us around to ensure we had a care-free, comfortable and pampered stay. The cabin itself is gorgeous, spotless and extremely comfortable. We slept exceptionally well and the bath house was nice and toasty which felt good as the night air was cold. We have already recommended this to our friends and we will be back soon. Truly this cabin should be on television as it is unique in so many detailed ways. It feels like you stepped back in time but in the most comfortable way you can imagine. If you want a great place to stay, and experience... this is it! The Deer Camp has our highest recommendation for other guests to consider. You're gonna love it. We did. Thank you Mitch and Lori for our amazing evening. A+++

  • I can't say enough good things about these hosts and their wonderful place. It was very clean, well equipped and had many extras they provided. The bed was very comfortable. It was very cold with a winter mix outside, but inside was warm and cozy by the fire!! I walked in to see a Happy Birthday banner and delicious B/D brownies. How thoughtful is that!!! It was a wonderful weekend getaway and we will definitely go back again!!

  • Deer Camp was an absolutely amazing experience. The place was very warm and cozy and the bathroom was outstanding. Mitch made sure we knew how to work everything and had everything we needed. His fire was a 5/5 and my boyfriend was thoroughly impressed. Kudos to Bubba for keeping us safe. Great place! We will be back again soon! Thanks Mitch and Lori!! We really appreciate it!

  • Mitch & Lori, Mark and I want to thank you for an amazing weekend at Glamping at Deer Camp. The treehouse was everything we imagined and then some. Absolute perfection! The outdoor kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast both mornings and dinner on Saturday night. Thank you for the complimentary pancake mix, syrup and butter. Thank you for having the cooler filled with ice, bottled water and Coke! The bathroom - what an amazing idea to make a greenhouse bathroom. The amenities you included in the bathroom were amazing! I loved it and Mark did too! Thanks for the special personal touch - making brownies and hanging the banner for Mark's Birthday. Oh and having the outdoor fire lit for us when we drove up - completely awesome! I just cant say thank you enough for a great weekend stay. Your thoughtfulness definitely shows in every aspect of the treehouse and its surroundings! We WILL be back!

  • This homey comfortable little house of charming character is great. Very comfortable bed and everything one needs. Now with Satellite tv yeah. Microwave was a recent addition which is very nice. The owner Miss Debra is new to Airbnb but getting right. If you need anything she is there to help. My kids loved it. Now they want me to buy a tiny home for real. The place is quiet and safe. I recommend it especially for solo renters and people that don't require a massive space. Totally worth it and I will always stay here since I'm there every two weeks.
