Park
“Best views of Bob Hope's Estate, John Lautner Masterpiece. Park at Southridge Rd & East Palm Canyon, pull into the parking lot immediately on your right. Trailhead is ACROSS the street from the parking lot. Meander on the trail past a mobile home park and condos, then back where the large homes on Southridge Drive are. Hike is a 800 ft altitude climb - from the trailhead to Bob Hope's Estate is about 1.5 miles. There's a more extensive trail system once you are back there if you want a longer or more intense workout. ”

“(Park at the end of Farrell Road, walk along the levy, it's public access, dip into the wash-basin to the mountain, you see the trails on the mountain and horseback riders). My husband and I do a loop that starts at the levy, walk the wash, to Earl Henderson, up to Shannon Trail (where you can see Bob Hope's Estate Home from an amazing side-view). Turn west at Berns Trail to Garstin Trail (again, keep going West on Garstin). You end up at the wash and can catch back up with the end of Earl Henderson Trail....walk back east on Earl Henderson Trail. Amazing views, STEEP hike but worth it. You may spot some bighorn sheep up there. Probably 5 miles round trip.”

“This is a well-maintained trail, with the trail head located about 1/4 mile south of Estados South on Palm Canyon Drive. Go the entire 4 miles or simply hike up and back to picnic tables at the top.”
