Natural Feature
“An Oasis of Peace and Tranquility The Dorchester Mill Pond is located on Dorchester Creek, just metres away from the Thames River in the Village of Dorchester. The pond, in a natural setting of white oak, white pine and maple, is tranquil and changes from season to season providing excellent subject matter for photographers. Visitors may wish to simply enjoy the view looking south from the dam which was reconstructed in 2005 or enjoy a quiet walk in the cool shade. The century old pond and dam provide a setting for quiet enjoyment. The pond and surrounding area offers a diverse collection of flora and fauna. Cheese Shop
“At 2017's Canadian Cheese Grand Prix, Handeck cheese took home the title for best Farmhouse Cheese in all of Canada. Handeck cheese is an 18 month old Swiss Alpine style cheese that cheese maker Shep Ysselstein is making very similar to the cheeses he made while learning how to make cheese in Switzerland. The team at Gunn's Hill couldn't be more excited for this award, which also credits the Ysselstein family farm, Friesvale Farms, for the incredible milk they are producing from their herd. Be sure to stop by Gunn's Hill Artisan Cheese where you can try Handeck and their other award nominated and winning cheeses! www.gunnshillcheese.ca/come-visit/come-visit”

Museum
“This is our neighbouring town's kitch filled local museum all about tobacco, our biggest industry until a few decades ago. It's a great rainy day activity with lots of (suprisingly!) kid friendly activities going on from time to time - check out their website to see what's on. It's more about our agricultural heritage than anything, and it a really cute local museum set near the dam on beautiful grounds. ”
