Vacation Rentals in Orrville

Just booked in Orrville

This apartment is located in what used to be the hay loft in an 1882 Carriage House in Massillon Ohio. I love this apartment because they used a lot of the original materials of the hay loft to convert it into an apartment. It is so unique. It does have air conditioning and wifi. Please do not wear high heels in the apartment !!! The heels are putting gouges in the wood floor !!
The apartment is in the old hayloft of an 1882 Carriage House in Massillon Ohio on Historic Fourth Street. Great care was taken to use all the original wood floors, walls and materials from the original hayloft. A nice kitchen, bathroom with claw foot tub and shower, bedroom with a king size bed, a working wall mounted jukebox with current cd's and just a great space for a get away. I will add more pictures in the near future.
This apartment is located on Historic Fourth Street. It is a brick road lined with historic homes from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. Beautiful homes that belonged to the movers and shakers of the time.
  • Massillon was our first stop on our cross country road trip. Upon arriving everything was easy and straightforward. The carriage house felt cozy and like we stepped back in time. The apartment was clean, organized and we even enjoyed some music on the jukebox. We didn't meet the owner at the house, but were informed of where the key would be. I was very pleased that he reached out to us first and gave us clear directions making our stay easy and pleasant. I wouldn't hesitate to stay a night here again. We even got to check out the historic house. The preservation and attention to detail in the house was on point. Definitely a stop for history lovers looking for a getaway or anyone who enjoys something unique and charming.

  • Wonderful trip! This was my first experience with an airbnb & I could not have asked for a better place or a better host!

    Jon2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place enjoyable stay.

    Doug 2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • James was very accommodating! The carriage house apartment was even better than the photos. In touch by e-mail and text, we were able to work out an arrival time that worked for both of us. The bed was comfortable and warm. The towels were large and fluffy! The fireplace and the jukebox were added bonuses! If available, we would also recommend that you take the tour of the main house. Both dwellings are a true slice of history.

    Joann & Drew2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • James was very accommodating and courteous. The add on Airbnb doesn't give this place enough credit. Beautiful loft in a historic part of the small town. Small downtown area with some shopping and restaurants is within a short walk. This was a very pleasant experience, from start to finish.

    Dustin2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The host was great. He gave us a complete tour and gave us the history of the house. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Steve2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really unique. If you like historical sites - the place is for you. Very clean, comfortable, has everything what you need. Located in a Historic District of the town. We had two dogs with us and the place was very comfortable for my husband, me and our big dogs.

    Marianna2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jim was a great coordinator and host for our stay. The Carriage House is an absolute must if you are staying in Canton/Massillon! Cozy, beautiful and centrally located. It was a perfect stay!

  • We stayed with Jackie and Mark twice in one week on our way through Ohio to and from KY. We were traveling with our two labs who were very welcomed by Jackie, Mark and their two dogs! This was by far the cleanest Airbnb we have ever stayed at. Beautiful location - make sure to take a walk along the country road for scenic rural views. Highly recommend!

    Nicole2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Jackie are fantastic hosts! We attended a family reunion and decided to spend a few days in Amish country. The house was very clean and beautiful and our living quarters were very spacious. Thank you Mike for the campfire and corn on the cob. We found the little farm and was able to go home with a box full of corn. We highly recommend this air bnb.

Romantic getaway log cabin in the country. Private log cabin with full kitchen and large bathroom and large shower. This cabin was just built summer 2016 and we are continuing to landscape and make it a great place to have a romantic getaway or a place to relax and get away from the city. Free WiFi, Hot tub that seats 7, Fire pit area and charcoal grill on back patio, are some of the great features we have to offer! Also great for family gatherings or reunions and hiking to waterfalls behind!
There is a private bedroom and loft bedroom with a large bathroom/laundry room. Sheets and blankets are provided. The cabin is very nicely decorated with a rustic feel for a relaxing place to be after a busy day! Behind the cabin is a steep ravine with creek running through the woods and a small water falls! Great for exploring but not suitable for small children that are unattended.
We are located between Orrville, Smithville, and Wooster, OH. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from 5 minutes to Smithville (historical village and The Barn Restaurant), 10 minutes to Orrville and 15 minutes to Wooster! Wooster also has a large movie complex, acres of fun (rollerskating, bumper boats, mini golf, go-carts, laser tag, etc) and tons of really good restaurants! If you head Orrville direction you can enjoy antique shopping, coffee shops and resturants or Amish country which is about 25 minutes from the cabin!
  • Barb and Arlyn have built a little oasis of paradise out in the adorable Ohio countryside. Nestled neatly between long stretches of farm land, the cabin is a meticulous curated tribute to western homesteads. It's everything the pictures show and so much more. Along with the wonderful space, you get Barb, who couldn't be a more perfect Airbnb'r. Great with communication, exceptional with cleanliness and gracious with providing all of the odds and ends that will make your stay that much more comfortable. I'm so happy we found this place and I look forward to a return visit.

    Cory2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Barb was amazing as a host and her place was beautiful. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I reserved the day before on late notice, she wasn't even in town and still made arrangements to have it cleaned and prepared for me. Would highly recommend!!

    Ryan2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The place is absolutely perfect. The hot tub and back patio are amazing. This cabin may not be on a scenic river or lake, but peaceful and relaxing and very accommodating. It is the best cabin I've stayed in my 30 years of weekend getaways. Barb has got to be the best host as she provides more then enough treats, and other amenities. This owner definitely goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable.

  • Barb was a great host!! The cabin is secluded and calming. We will definitely be back! We also loved the coffee bar :)

    Kara2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Truly one of the most gorgeous Aribnb's we have stayed at. Barb is a wonderful communicator, a kind heart, and clearly knows how to meet every need a guest could ask for. From the breakfast items, well stocked kitchen, amazing decor, hot tub, large bathroom, fire wood for out door enjoyment, and the cool loft, you will be WOWED as we were from the very start. The home was spotless too!

    Rebecca2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin was beautiful!! Location was perfect for what we wanted. Barb left us some breakfast which was so kind of her! Couldn't fault Bard and the effort she goes to. Check in and check out was easy! We arrived after Dark and had to turn around as we missed the house/drive way but apart from that found it fine! Wish we stayed longer. My only down side was the main bedroom not having any curtains/blinds. This is a personal opinion as i find it hard sleeping in the light. everything else was perfect. Thanks again ! :)

    Alice2016-11-27T00:00:00Z

The Summer Kitchen is a country retreat on a real working organic grain farm in the heart of Amish Country, Ohio. This private getaway for two adults is an entire apartment that is attached to the farmhouse. It's aptly named The Summer Kitchen because this structure was once used as the kitchen for all the summertime canning and cooking. The farm sits on 130 acres atop a hill surrounded by lofty pines.
Enjoy your morning sitting under the tree outside your door, listening to the birds singing and your host's cat may come to visit you. A beautiful rural setting of Amish farms makes for a relaxing retreat.
A quiet setting with an occasional airplane next door. Horse and buggies going by. The sound of our combine or tractor doing some field work.
  • Wonderful peaceful stay. Thanks for your continued hospitality!

    Greg2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice private space. You have everything you need for a nights stay or a weeks stay. It is beautiful, quiet countryside. Only 30 minutes from Canton but close to delicious bakeries and restaurants. If you want to relax this is the space for you.

    Martina2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, CLEAN, quiet, peaceful place! Thoroughly enjoyed being there, and away from all the hurry and scurry of so many places! THANKS!

    Shirley2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous airbnb! Shirley is a perfect host. She welcomes you like you are home. Especially enjoyed that they use all natural cleaners and essential oil based air fresheners. Plus they also recycle. Very roomy too, separate LR with sliding barn door to separate from the nice sized bedroom. Very grateful they are pet friendly without any extra charge. It is only 30 minutes to Berlin on beautiful country roads. I have already booked for next year. Thank you Gerald and Shirley.

    Terri2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Shirley and Gerald make the Summer Kitchen a home away from home. Their kindness is reflected throughout their farm. We enjoyed visiting Mount Hope, Berlin, and Wooster, and found our new bedroom furniture nearby! We loved walking the farm, playing Frisbee, and catching up with Shirley and Gerald. If you are looking for a secluded retreat with all the amenities of home, look no further than the Summer Kitchen. We can't wait to return!!

    Greg2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for opening your home to us! We greatly enjoyed meeting you and experiencing the beauty of the area. It was so quiet and we slept so soundly! Thanks again for everything!

  • If you don't mind soft beds it is a great place.

    Lowell2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great house with authentic country charm. Very clean. The beds were so comfortable and the house was toasty warm on a cold December night. Tess was so easy to communicate with and the hospitality abundant. This was an amazing value for all that is offered. We'll be back!

    Wilma2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nestled in a pastoral setting in rural Ohio, Tess's place is truly a home away from home. This roomy historic dwelling is set up for families with young children but worked well for our family of five, including three college-age adults. The kitchen is well stocked, there's plenty of hot water, and the fire pit was a hit with all of us.

  • The room and bath were separate from the living area and right next to the front door, so I didn't feel like I was intruding in any way. I was given a key and the parking was right there by the front door. The bed was tremendous and it was decorated beautifully. I felt very welcomed and yet had privacy. I would definitely stay there again. Joan was a dear!

We enjoyed very much the opportunity to visit with her and learn more about her. She did not grow up in Wooster but it is obvious that she has adopted it as her home town. • This was our first Airbnb experience, so we weren't sure what to expect. Paul was easy to communicate with. We loved this house! It's clean, nicely furnished, and conveniently located to campus. It is ideal for those families with students at The College of Wooster, or for those visiting the town. There is a nice yard and play area out back for young children. The kitchen is easy to use. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful main room. We have already booked our next stay! Thanks so much, Paul. Pam & Ron

  • This place was fantastic. Gorgeous house with lovely decor, plenty of space, very clean and comfortable.

    Robin2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a great host -- very responsive to any and all questions we had about our stay. His place was large, with plenty of space and natural light, and perfect for our traveling party's needs. The beds and linens were comfortable. Some notes for future visitors: If you have a large vehicle, the driveway can be a bit tight, so I wouldn't recommend pulling all the way up. We also had some ants (the bugs, not the relatives) visiting us throughout the weekend.

    Kami2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 would stay again. Beautiful neighborhood, even bigger than the pictures portrayed, comfy beds, & excellent communication. Great place for a great value.

  • Our first visit to Wooster OH to see a play at the Ohio Light Opera's Freedlander Theater on the campus of The College of Wooster was a successful trip from St. Louis. The house has character and is clean and neat. Lots of things were provided: linens, full kitchen equipment, coffee, etc. Best of all: we had the house to ourselves! It is located in a very nice neighborhood and is a quick trip "down the street" to the college and theater. Paul was very accommodating. We highly recommend the place.

We are located right in the heart of Downtown Wooster. This apartment is on the third floor of a beautifully renovated historic building housing several apartments, Flex Yoga Wooster on the second floor and Sure House Coffee on the first floor. We are within a few minutes walking distance to Restaurants, Bars, Boutiques, and Coffee Shops. We are also very close to the College of Wooster and Buehler's Grocery. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
There are two other apartments on the same floor as our Airbnb apartment, a yoga studio and an apartment on the floor beneath, and a coffee shop and butcher shop on the first floor. While there is other activity in the building it does not typically get very loud at all.
Wooster is a beautiful small town ranked among the top Micro Cities in the nation. Everything you need is within a close distance to our location. You can walk downstairs and barely leave the building for a fresh locally roasted coffee at Sure House Coffee on the first floor, or walk across the street to grab a drink or meal at the City Square Steakhouse, ranked in the top 100 steakhouses in America.

  • We rented this loft for a young family who travelled from Chicago to be a part of our son’s wedding. The loft was across the street from our rehearsal dinner venue, which was perfect. It is located right in the heart of downtown Wooster with unique shopping, incredible dining choices, coffee shops, and several great places to enjoy a drink just steps away. Our guests loved the loft and location. Anne was so accommodating and helpful to us!

  • This was our 2nd stay at the loft and it was another great experience! We look forward to our next visit!

  • Wooster - wow! Who knew how cool. The apartment is perfectly located for a walkable, smart, very sophisticated Ohio main street smallish town experience!!! What fun and what a great eclectic shopping dining experience! Perfectly perfect hosts as well. 19/20 scale review.

  • I had three friends stay here that came out of town for my wedding and it could not have worked out better. Anne was very accommodating and even lets us check in a bit early so that I could get ready for my wedding with all my grooms men there. Great place, gracious host, highly recommend staying here!

    Jacob2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The space was perfect. We were able to check in ourselves and Anne was available for any questions/advice via text or phone calls. The space is centrally located right downtown close to popular restaurants and shops, very clean and nicely furnished. Awesome space and a really good value!

    Downtown Wooster Loft
    13 reviews
This house is located two blocks from the College of Wooster and eight blocks from downtown Wooster. As your host, I live here with my two cats. Your bedroom is the finished attic and includes air conditioning, a space heater, a queen bed and a sitting room. You are welcome to use all of the common rooms of the house: the main bathroom and TV/meditation room on the second floor; the kitchen, dining room, living room and half bath on the first floor; the front porch and back patio.
  • Drew was a nice and friendly host. The place was very comfortable and warm. The cats were cute. Nice stay overall, would definitely recommend to others!

    Nan2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • I was initially leary about staying in the same place with a single man, but Drews manner was open, friendly, and unassuming. He is a scholar and very respectful. I felt totally at home! He even keeps the place neater than I keep my own home!

    Renée2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely third floor suite in a clean and comfortable home very near the college campus -- perfect for a parent visiting a student!

  • Drew was a very warm and welcoming host! He was flexible and accommodating--assuring me that he would be around despite the fact my ETA was unclear... he made me feel right at home; chatted like an old friend... and served the most amazing breakfast the following morning! Quiche, coffee cake, and tea... perfect!

  • Pleasant, quiet, very chill and easy overall. Cats are shy. One startled me when he popped out of a tiny wall cupboard, but I think I startled her equally .

  • Location. Location. Location. That's what realtors always talk about. And Drew has an amazing location only four blocks from the Ohio Light Opera auditorium. I could walk to and from performances which was great. Drew is a cordial host. He was not around much but left excellent directions on where to find the key and what areas of the house were open to use -- just about everywhere! His home is clean and tidy. An excellent value. I plan to stay here again and would recommend his place without reservation.

The Creamery is a warm and lovely secluded English cottage located within close walking distance of the College of Wooster and the downtown Wooster area and restaurants. Built in 1925, the Creamery has a wood burning stone fireplace and a piano. It is surrounded by perennial flower gardens and trees.
The first floor has a combined kitchen, pantry and laundry, family and dining areas, the blue Anna Claire bedroom (with full size bed), and a full bathroom. There are two bedrooms (the yellow Emerson Blair room has a queen size bed and a full size bed; the pink Maren Leigh room has a full size bed) on the second floor. There are two full bathrooms on the second floor. One bathroom on the second floor has a shower and the other second floor bathroom has a bath tub. The first floor has original oak flooring except the kitchen that has been updated. The second floor has original wide plank hard pine floors. The Creamery has central air and screens on the windows in the spring, summer and fall, and forced air and thermal glass panes in the winter months. There is an elevated lighted deck with patio furniture off of the dining area, and a lighted garden stone patio with furniture off of the living area. The home is fully furnished with large and small appliances including HDTV, wifi, coffee makers, coffee bean grinder, ironing board and iron, toaster, blender and more. The Creamery is ideal for Ohio Light Opera patrons, and College of Wooster/OARDC/ATI visiting researchers and scholars, alumni, families and friends. Holidays at The Creamery are extra special as the home is family oriented in design and decor. The Creamery is also well equipped for business travelers as the large dining area doubles as a conference room with seating for 8 to 10+.
The Creamery is Suzanne's family home, and is located in one of Wooster's beautiful older neighborhoods with wonderful homes and neighbors. You may be regaled by a cicada and bull frog serenade and perhaps lightning bug fireworks, . . . or snowflakes! Wayne county is home to the JM Smucker Company and Hartzler Dairy (where the cream rises to the top!). We will welcome you with their products and others (such as Hershberger hand-picked strawberries and Bauman Orchard apples) as seasonal and local items are available.
  • Our host was extremely charming and welcomed us to her home as we arrived. We toured the property with her and learned a few special things about the house. Plus there was a very welcome bundle of food items including hand picked strawberries waiting in the refrigerator as well as a fresh loaf of artisan bread. The house with its three bedrooms and three baths was perfect for the needs of our six travellers and two young children, who also enjoyed their time their very much.

    Stan2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 8 days over Christmas and Suzanne greeted us with a Christmas tree and decorations. It was a nice home away from home for our family traveling from near and far to be together in our hometown. We were able to host local family for dinners and happy hours. The house is very cute, cozy, and has that old Wooster home style. It's close to all things downtown too so we walked on occasion when warm enough. The piano was a hit for seasonal music and the kitchen was a topic of conversation regarding ideal setup of a galley kitchen. Six adults and a couple babies was a bit tight as the house is on the smaller side (around 2000 sq feet) but we made it work. There were games and toys supplied for all and nice care package of cheese and wine to greet us. Many nice new memories were made at the Creamery, thanks Suzanne!

    Luke2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home this past weekend. From the welcoming wine and cheese, to the milk and bread and butter you left to get us started our first morning, your attention to detail and thoughtfulness were very much appreciated. The house was extremely comfortable for our 3 generation family and beautifully decorated We were in Wooster to bury my mother in law and found the coziness of the house to be a big help to our family. Thank you again

    Leslie2015-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We (and everyone who visited us at The Creamery) absolutely loved this house. The colors, the light, the charm, space and location were perfect for a long weekend to celebrate our daughter's graduation at the College of Wooster. Suzanne and Roseanne were warm and responsive and prepped the house with grace and generosity. We hosted a dinner for 12 here... cooked every meal here... used upstairs and down, inside and out. It's hard to say what my favorite part of it was but I'd like to think I'd be there again with a less hectic schedule and be able to sit in that chair at the window in the kitchen where the finches feed and light dapples in and peace prevails!

    Beth2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • From the minute we arrived we felt welcomed and appreciated. A group of seven Packer fans traveled from three states to stay at the Creamery for the Hall of Fame weekend. From the groceries in the fridge to the lovely home we felt right at home all weekend. We walked to the Farmer Market, enjoyed a local brew pub, and enjoyed the spacious home for the weekend. Suzanne quickly sorted out an internet access issue and was most helpful in getting us acclimated to Wooster. So happy we were able to call the Creamery home for the weekend.

    Ann2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fresh fruit, butter and eggs, - lovely home- warm and wonderful. Thx!

  • Very much enjoyed the owner's hospitality. The home feels wonderfully secluded but is in easy walking distance of downtown Wooster which offers good restaurants, coffeehouses and shopping. The grounds are very nice--lovely shade trees, flowers and birds. We spent a very enjoyable, relaxing month in this home--we'd certainly do it again!

    David2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was the best value, as well as the best venue available! Our stay was utterly perfect, from the cheerful colors of the rooms, to the full amenities at our fingertips, to the gracious host. We could not be happier and would love to stay again.

Completely renovated 1908 carriage house which is now part of a duplex. It is so warm and inviting. I absolutely love being in here. It feels almost like the 1940's in here. Electric fireplace takes the chill off the air. Downtown is less than a mile. Shopping is 5 minutes by car. Cleveland is about 35 minutes depending on traffic and Akron is 20 minutes.
This converted carriage house is unique because it still has the original hardwood floors from 100 years ago. The trim is all original and the walls are still plaster and not drywall. Claw foot tub is amazing. It has all the modern conveniences but a very old feel which is wonderful. The view out the office window is a valley with woods on both sides.
This is a little road with only three houses on it. The road is NOT well taken care of by the city so it has potholes and it's bumpy. But well worth it to stay here.

College of Wooster/OLO - OSU/ATI - 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, sitting room and kitchen for guests. Walk to the College, Downtown Wooster, Brewery, Dining, Ohio Light Opera, 4 miles to OSU/ATI. An easy drive/bike into Amish Country. Let us be clear - LilyPad is our working artists studio and our guest house for friends and family - we open up it up to the ABNB community for fun- some folks come thinking it should be Ritzy. It's not. It is funky-fun, and our rugs, art, people and wine are all real.
The entire house is yours to use except for Charlene's design studio. We live in Toad Hall, the home directly in back of Lily Pad. Your Rental: 3 bedrooms (2 have full beds, 1 has a twin + a full sized futon), sitting/dining room, mudroom, bathroom, full kitchen, covered porch with rocker + porch swing, back patio, and shared backyard with large picnic table (with dog and chickens) are yours to enjoy. There is no TV or cable, but the wireless coverage is everywhere in the yard and house. There is a bookshelf of novels, non-fiction and DVDs in the hallway upstairs. Take a book/ leave a book. We have a large collection of art including some modern works and theatrical design originals. The artwork in Lily Pad (about 50+ pieces is from Charlene, our friends and fellow designers. The upstairs hallway has large number of Ohio Light Opera costume designs. Not included in rental: The design studio (formerly the living room) is a large room converted to the design and painting studio of Charlene. She designs a costumes for opera, theatre and dance. This room is gently velvet-roped off , and we ask our guests respect this as her work space. Charlene sometimes has to work on short deadlines and may be painting or working in the studio. We also ask you not use the attic, the bedroom in the attic or the basement. This is off limits and used for storage.
Forest Drive is also known as the "College Ghetto" being two blocks from the College of Wooster campus. Many professors and employees of the College live on Forest. Homes range from grand to quaint. Wooster is a great town. Bookended by 2 campuses, OSU's ATI and The College of Wooster. You can have fantastic food, visit the brewery (JAFB), visit Seacrest arboretum, visit the largest Amish community in the world, or just spend a day browsing the book and antique stores. Christmas Run Park is just 5 minutes walk away. Tennis courts, GIANT children's play ground, catch and release fishing and a covered bridge. The Wooster country club and golf course abuts the park.
  • The hosts left us a welcoming bottle of wine and my husband had several long conversations with Stephen. We were happy with the location, a short walking distance to the College of Wooster where we were attending my husband's 55th college reunion. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. However, we were greeted by a shabby rear entrance and a general feeling that this older house was a "work in progress." Painted rooms, but no "finish" to the place. Little aesthetic appeal.

    Ellen2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, easy, comfortable! It is the perfect place to stay if you are doing something at the college.

    Terry2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lily Pad was perfect for my daughter Kate and I. We attended an event at the college the next day and the location made that part easy. The house was more than we needed but was comfortable, quiet, clean, and everything we needed was there. I'm afraid I didn't get to meet Charlene but Stephen was very welcoming and brought a couple of local brews which I really enjoyed. He even shared one with me after getting us settled. Highly recommend to anyone spending time in Wooster. Communication was easy. Great place with efficient and welcoming hosts.

    Dan2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a group of seven in town for a wedding on COW campus. We had ample room and only a brief walk to campus or downtown. Stephen and Charlene were awesome hosts and available for any of our questions. I would recommend this location to anyone staying in the Wooster area.

    Jared2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay! Gracious hosts who went the extra mile to make sure we felt welcomed. Also helped us with my wife's dress that we left behind! Highly recommend staying at the Pad.

  • Terrific location, on a quiet street walkable to College of Wooster campus plus a food market and cafes. Very comfy beds, and plenty of towels. Our hosts were in communication during booking and arrival. My family rented for graduation weekend and our experience was very positive. Thank you, Stephen and Charlene!

    Melissa2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • The weather outside was frightful, but we were snug and comfortable inside. We were in Wooster for the weekend, and it snowed 4-5 inches, with 35 mph winds. The temperature dropped to -4 degrees. We hunkered down at the Lily Pad, and a wonderful time was had by all. The house was easy to find and is in quiet residential neighborhood. It is my understanding that most of the neighbors are faculty or staff for the College of Wooster (COW), which is 2 blocks away. A friendly note and a bottle of wine waited for us when we arrived. On the first night, we attended a wine dinner at the Wooster Inn. We arranged for a taxi to take us to and from the event. It was a van and could easily accommodate the 5 of us. Our host, Steve, came over the first morning and cooked pancakes. This was optional, but it was a nice touch. We got lunch at First Amendment Public House. Then, because of the cold and wind, we got pizzas to go from Broken Rocks and growlers from JAFB. We reheated the pizzas in the oven when we got ready for dinner. The house was the perfect refuge from the -20 wind chills. In all, this house entirely met our needs. My younger daughter graduated from COW last May, so we were very familiar with the town and had grown quite fond of it. I was sad when she graduated because I did not think I would be coming back. But, it's 6 hours from Chicago (daughter #1), 6 hours from Washington, DC (#2), and 7 hours for us. For those who have never been to Wooster, it's wonderful. The downtown has been revitalized over the past 25 years, and it more than occupies us every time we visit. If it were not so cold, we would have walked everywhere from the house. Normally I bring my bicycle and either ride the backroads in Amish country or the Millersburg rails-to-trails. I can't say enough about Wooster. The Lily Pad worked well as a home away from home.

    Peter2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen and Charlene are GREAT hosts! They had everything we could've possibly needed for our stay, we found the beds to be super comfy, and they were very accommodating and responsive to the change in schedule that we needed to make for our visit. The Lily Pad is a great place to stay in Wooster, and is conveniently located to the downtown area, parks, and shopping.

  • We have stayed at B & B's all over the USA and Europe and this one is the best for us. From the pre-arrival communications, the warm greetings, the excellent accommodations and the week long hospitality everything was perfect. The location and peaceful surroundings are very relaxing. Thank you Lynn and Steve, we plan to see you next year.

  • So glad we chose to stay here! It was our first experience with Airbnb. Lynn and Steve are the best hosts. They go WAY above and beyond to ensure that their guests have everything they need. You truly feel like you are at home. From the minute you meet them, you feel like long lost friends. Their property is private and tranquil, but close to anything you want to go to in the area, whether it's the local community of Wooster, Amish country, or Mohican State Park. We would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone visiting the area. Thanks again for opening your place and showing that there are still some amazing people out there that care about taking care of others!

  • Lynn and Steve greeted us upon arrival and Lynn welcomed us into our cozy, clean and very well appointed rental for the weekend. We could not have felt more at home. The home is nestled in the woods where we were met on the driveway by a herd of deer on our first night out. Turning onto the road we were treated with an almost fairytale sight - a winding road in either direction decorated with stately trees in autumn attire. We will definitely return and for a much longer stay. With any luck I won't leave my camera bag in my garage next time. :)

    Brenda2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great place and terrific stay. Had a function to attend at Wooster College with my daughter and did not want the bustle of the hotels. Buckeye Ridge was the perfect solution. Quiet setting but super close to town. Lynn and Steve could not have done a better job. Lynn gave a great welcome and tour of their farm as well as a thorough overview of the space itself. It was clean, very well stocked, comfortable, and nicely decorated. I wish I had had another day or two to enjoy. I'll be back! Thanks Lynn and Steve for being so friendly and welcoming. You answered all of my questions promptly and I truly appreciate your hospitality and friendliness. Best to you both!

    Dan2015-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • After our nine days at Buckeye Ridge Farms, we really can’t say enough good things about our apartment or our hosts, Lynn and Steve. First, Lynn and Steve went above and beyond anticipating our needs and wants. The cupboards, counters, fridge and freezer were stocked with a wide variety of food and beverages -- a very thoughtful consideration for those who are not familiar with an area where running to the corner store is not a country living reality. (And thank goodness!) There were also an amazing assortment of cooking utensils, pots and pans for a super-efficient dual hot plate stove, a fine toaster oven and regular toaster, coffee pot, and plenty of dishes, bowls, and glassware. And a charcoal grill! We were able to whip up a dinner for my wife’s sister and her husband one evening. For a day trip, they provided us with a cooler. And when my wife was wondered what would happen if the power went out when a storm was approaching, a flashlight, candles and matches appeared almost instantaneously. Lynn even has a homemade poison ivy antidote should you decide to bushwhack off-trail. They provide a notebook with their recommendations for local best-of’s, and we can vouch for their excellent judgment! Lynn and Steve are wonderfully solicitous without ever being intrusive. Further, they are interesting and enjoyable company. Lynn invited us to go with her to feed her goats, and directed us to a beautiful and well-maintained trail around the property. If you are a birder, you are in for a treat, especially in the spring. We’re from out west, so it was a treat seeing eastern birds like Eastern Bluebirds, Eastern Bluejays, Cardinals, Catbirds, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, Eastern Meadowlarks, and Red-bellied Woodpeckers.  We also saw shared birds like Indigo Buntings, Brown-headed Cowbirds, Crows, Red-tailed Hawks, Slate-colored Juncos, White-breasted Nuthatches, Robins, Turkey Vultures, Downy Woodpeckers, and the ubiquitous House Sparrow -- but no House Finches! (By the way, Lynn is an excellent birder herself.) We are incredibly grateful to have had this option available to us for our recent visit to Wooster.

  • We stayed at Buckeye Ridge Farm while celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary weekend. What an excellent choice we made! Our host and hostess, Lynn and Steve were the best. They welcomed us so warmly and provided us with everything we needed. The apartment was even cuter than the pictures. We wish we could have stayed the whole week.

This is a complete island all to yourself in the middle of portage Lakes main chain of lakes. It is a vintage 1917 log cabin with a fireplace wood burner etc. Full kitchen and bath sleeps four comfortably. Enjoy the outdoor covered pavilion with a custom fire pit and barbecue. Bring your boat and dock it on site. One of the best fishing holes in Ohio. This will be a true adventure of days gone by with all the modern comforts!
Beautiful private island rustic cottage ! Outdoor large barbecue area !
Close to many restaurants and bars you can boat or walk to !! Firestone and Turkeyfoot golf courses !! Waterskiing !!
  • My husband and I fell in love with this cabin and its location. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend get away. Kim was very nice, her response time was quick and was very easy to communicate with. We will definitely stay here again!!

  • For those of you wanting to stay in a place with character and history this is your spot. A 100+ year old original portage lakes cabin situated on its own small island. Fisherman, it is as if it was made for us. Across from the loading ramps and 24" Catfish off the dock. You can not beat this place. It is a treasure that I hope is preserved forever. I will never forget this place, or the weekend with my boys.

    Norm2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • You really are on your own private island! The location was really peaceful, and the firepit outside provided a great place to grab a drink as the sunset. The host was also very responsive!

    Sean2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic value and super peaceful! Kim was very prompt in communicating and ready to help if we needed anything. The kayaks were a wonderful addition and made our time at the cabin that much more fun! Can't wait to go back!

  • I have had vacations in dozens of cabins. This was the best one ever. It fit my needs perfectly. Ironic that it was located 4 miles from where I grew up. I have traveled hours and hours as far as Canada and have not been as well served or well matched in my needs. The cabin is rustic and worth what I paid. It may not be for kids but for adults like me it was safe, well-appointed and well served by Kim and the owner. FYI fishing was much better then I expected. Try for the red eared panfish which are huge and tasty. Bars and restaurants and Turkeyfoot Golf Course are near and super values.

  • It was secluded yet open to enjoy the lake. We had beautiful weather. We would definitely return!!

  • Connie's place is cute and clean, exactly as pictured. Connie was a great host. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Connie is an excellent hostess. She quickly dealt with all issues (all minor) that we encountered. The apartment was as advertised. I would recommend a stay with Connie anytime you are in Massillon.

  • The luxury apartment was a great place to stay while visiting family. Having both beds in 1 room made the stay cozy, so nice for my son to sleep in same room as grandparents! The owner, Connie, is super-friendly, responsive, and flexible! Every request I made, she replied right away to make sure my stay at her place fit what we needed. I would stay again anytime I'm in the area.

  • Connie was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We got in late due to a long travel day, yet Connie was there to greet us to ensure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again if we come back through Massillon!

  • Our stay at Walnut Grove was wonderful. We did not meet Greg, but his wife Peggy met us at the door, showed us to our accommodations, chatted for awhile, and then excused herself with a last request that we let her know if we needed anything. But what could we have needed? She has thought of everything, from bottled water, a coffee maker, fresh fruit in a basket, individually packaged toiletries, maps and brochures of the area, and coloring pages/crayons for the children. In the A.M. we had a delicious breakfast at our door. Greg and Peggy have been in the business of hospitality for many years as restaurant owners. They know how to serve beautifully. The accommodations, previously Housing a nanny is spacious and ample space for a small family or a few friends, as well as a perfect hide away for an individual. The hosts are generous with their outdoor living space which includes a heated pool. We would definitely recommend a stay at Walnut Grove.

  • My wife and I enjoyed our stay with Peggy and Greg at their lovely home in Wooster. Upon arriving, Peggy took us around giving us a nice history of the home and showing us some of the beautiful stone detail that Greg has added to the house. We had roomy and comfortable accommodations and they served a lovely breakfast promptly at 9 AM. It was a delightful surprise to have access to a beautiful pool on a very hot and humid day.

  • I enjoyed my time in Barbara's basement apartment. It was beautifully furnished and comfortable. I particularly appreciated the breakfast food and snacks that she provided--also access to a computer since I didn't have one with me. I spent a lot of my time there getting my daughters settled in college so it was great to have a restful place to come back to in the evenings!

    Maria2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara and her husband Mike are the best hosts. We had a late flight into Cleveland and Mike stayed up and waited to greet us and give us a tour of the beautiful space where we would be staying. They made sure we had everything we needed and more, the bed was very comfortable, and the entire space was spotless and very welcoming. We enjoyed our short stay tremendously. Thanks Barbara and Mike!

    Jillian2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best experience at Barbara's place. The accommodations surpassed our expectations. Barb and Mike were very hospitable, thinking of every detail to ensure we were comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a home away from home!

  • Lovely lower level accommodations in a very spacious home. Many amenities, total privacy, kitchenette and bar facilities. Incredibly comfortable bed and beautiful airy patio adjacent to the rooms. Highly recommend!

    Polly2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara and her husband were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts that were willing to talk and get to know me when wanted but respected privacy when desired. They went above and beyond with every detail- from having any personal item I'd forgotten, to a full assortment of drinks and snacks available. The large king bed was comfortable and the private living space was massive, with a private entrance and everything you'd find in a fully upgraded SFH. There was a stone patio for lounging in the sun and a beautiful neighborhood to go for a walk. The location had easy acces to the highways and was a short communte to Akron and Cleveland, with shops close by yet still feeling secluded. After 2 weeks as a guest in their home I will confidently say- whether you're looking for a place to stay for the night, or are in town a full month.. you'll get more than you paid for when here. Highly recommended.

  • This is the "Primo" airbnb place. The picture shows the full kitchen with the large bar in front, the comfy media area with TV and fireplace, the pool table and bedroom It does not begin to describe the luxurious linens, the space! 2200 sq ft of private space. Awesome. Barbara and Primo are attentive and concerned hosts who worried about us and made sure we were doing well. The location is in the rolling hills of Ohio, near farms and country roads....very quiet and peaceful. We have never stayed in such a huge, high quality space. They gave us privacy and comfort and we loved our visit. The could not have been more congenial and courteous. Warning...this space will spoil you for all other airbnbs.
