Just booked in Orford

A tranquil and idyllic retreat tucked in the country side conveniently a few minutes from unspoiled Lake Fairlee in Vermont. Rejuvenate yourself on a relaxing getaway surrounded by pristine nature and wildlife. Enjoy breathtaking easterly mountain views on a spacious deck with your loved ones. Hillcrest Manor sits on a delightful 3 acre lot with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, basketball/tennis court, fenced pasture, and three stall barn. It has plenty of space and accommodations for the whole family.
Very important! Please read all info before you book: A clean, peaceful and warm country home with an Open format Fully functional gourmet kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, beautiful Post and beam cathedral ceilings, tasteful art and furniture. I personally recommend around 7 guests to stay at my home because that is how many people can relax in the living room and watch TV at the same time. If you would like to have more people stay that is fine by me, there is enough beds, deck space and dining room seats to go around! In the house there is 1 Full size bed (fits 2 snuggly) and 2 twin size beds in the master bedroom. Also, 1 king size bed in the 2nd bedroom and 2 full size beds (each fit 2 snuggly) in the 3rd bedroom sleeping 10 guests comfortably and if you include the 2 extremely comfy couches the house sleeps 12 guests. There is only seating for 7 in the living room (the pictures are missing a comfy chair). There is seating for 11 in the dining room and kitchen. (8 sitting on the repurposed barn door dining table and 3 at the island bar)
The Lake Fairlee area is one of the most beautiful places in Vermont. Golf at Lake Morey Country Club, yoga classes & horseback riding (just ask me) or Swim, Kayak, Canoe, play volleyball and tan in the sand at Treasure Island. Hike, Bike, snow shoe, and cross country ski the Rivendell Trail system. Hot Air Balloon rides at Post Mills Air Strip. Cross roads farm for fresh food. Blueberry picking at Wild Hill Orchard on Middle brook road. Enjoy hiking and swimming at Union city dam. Norwich farmers market Saturdays 9-1 on route 5. Huge snowmobile and ATV trail system. Hanover, NH for shopping and Dartmouth Hitchcock hospital and Dartmouth University 20 min away along with Dartmouth ski way for snowboarding and skiing. My favorite restaurant close by is Stella's in Lyme NH and the best supermarket in the area is Hannaford Supermarket in Bradford VT.
  • An absolutely fantastic time! 10/10, would recommend to any family or group of friends trying to get away for a weekend.

  • We really enjoyed our short vacation! Hill crest Manor is a perfect place to get away! With beautiful views all around, this house is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Kyle is an excellent host! He was very welcoming, easy to reach and provided us with everything we needed! The location is great- short drive to Woodstock and Quechee! We wish we had stayed longer!

    Natalia2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle place was simply AWESOME. I would personally recommend Kyle as a Super Host. Kyle was very proactive about all our needs during the stay. He was very responsive about any questions. The house was very clean and he had put notes on places so that if we have any questions then it would solve it. The view from the house was great, the property has dedicated basketball and long tennis court for the guest. Each one of us enjoyed to the fullest. Thanks Kyle once again for letting us stay at your place. It was one of the most memorable long weekend we have ever spend.

  • Highly recommend, Kyle and house was amazing

  • I chose Kyles house because of the location and area. My prime goal was to escape reality with comfort. Kyle's house was so big and clean and the kitchen was perfect for hosting. I will be returning back to this property as soon as I have more vacation time. He was the best host especially considering this was my 1st time using airbnb and because of him I will be using it again. Thank you again Kyle for being such great host. See you soon........

    chelsea2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Super host! Perfect place to relax, enjoy the landscape and have fun with friends and family. We will definitely cone back next year. Thanks to Kyle, everything was simple and clear.

  • Kyle is a fabulous host! He is quick to respond, very friendly, and super understanding as well as thoughtful. The house was stocked with everything one could ever think of needing and the location was pristine: rural yet close enough to town to get necessities. The views from the deck are picturesque, especially when hot air balloons take flight, and sitting around the campfire every star in the night sky can be seen. The Hillcrest Manor is a hidden Jewel. Thank you Kyle!

A rustic cabin with an old time camp feel. Perfect for a remote country weekend, introducing your children to the country, or a family get-together. The dishes, sheets, and furniture are all mismatched, but clean and cozy. If you are looking for a quiet cabin in the woods where the forest breeze blows through the rooms, look no further you have found it. 25min from Hanover, NH 10min from Lake Fairlee 10min from Post Mills Airport 10min from Crossroad Pond
The cabin is nestled under tall maple trees, built on a rocky ledge and surrounded by ferns and forest plants. The lawn is not always mowed, but the birds are always singing. There is a sloped lawn with gardens and a small fishing pond. Feel free to explore the forest surrounding the area. Try mountain biking on the dirt roads, or go for a nice hike on the Rivendell Trail to Flag Pole Hill. Crossroad Farm is an amazing local farmstand that is always worth a visit. If you don't feel like making dinner, Baker's General Store has a deli with some tasty options as well as ice cream.
We live in a rural setting. Our neighbors who live along the mile long dirt road to our house are reserved yet friendly country folk. Please be respectful of them and drive at 25mph or under on the road. Becuase we are in a rural setting the power sometimes goes out, in heavy storms a tree may fall across the road, the internet ranges from being fast to slow depending on the weather, our cabin has a wonderful old time camp feel to it, while having most of the modern amenities.
  • The cabin was very comfortable and warm . Set back in the forest it was quiet and we rested well . I would recommend it .

    Richard2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • It was like staying in a tree house. Great time and very nice hosts.

    Rob2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is nice and off the beaten path. If you want a place of peace and quiet and feel close to nature this is the place to go. The hostess and her mom are very nice and accomodating, just let them know what you need.

    Joshua2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for rustic cottage which worked out great for my family (2 adults, 4 kids, and a dog). Hosts were very helpful and provided some groceries which was great since we arrived late and there aren't grocery stores nearby.

    Katie2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tara's cabin is a wonderful place to get away. The house itself is cozy and charming, and the woodsy setting is absolutely wonderful. As the website description says, the location is a little off the beaten track. She had thoughtfully stocked the refrigerator with some basics, but come prepared with the groceries you want or to drive a bit to find them. Highly recommend this for a quiet get-away!!

    Peter2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderfully relaxing week at Tara's guest house. It was everything we were hoping for: a secluded and quiet gem which seems to melt into the surrounding woods. Nearby, there's plenty to do, and we spent several days hiking the Cross-Rivendell trail, making forays into the Green and White Mountains and paying a rainy day visit to the Fairbanks Museum in St. J. This is a guest house with personality: awesome views from each window, lots of interesting nooks and crannies, a great collection of nature/environmental books.. spacious kitchen, comfortable beds (and bedrooms) and an especially awesome cathedral ceiling which fills with sun each morning. The home is clean from top to bottom and well-cared for, with the essentials you'll need to get-away-from-it-all. Tara and Elizabeth.. you were perfect hosts and easy to reach when needed. We'd stay with you again without hesitation. Thanks for such a perfect week!

    John2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tara was a great host! She was very thoughtful with everything she provided for a delicious breakfast and even put out toys and water for our dogs. The house was even more beautiful than I had imagined. We had a great time. It was the perfect spot for a nice getaway from the city.

Vermont at it's finest...on top of a mountain, 5 minutes from the Fairlee exit on Interstate 91 and 15 minutes north of Hanover, NH, home of Dartmouth College. Our space is perfect for a couple, or two, or with children. Sleeping arrangements are a queen size inflatable bed from Grandinroad and a double size sleep sofa. Villino Totensin means "House of Totems", a mid-century, modern, open-plan timber frame cabin, constructed from whole trees (these are the totems). The space is magical, funky, rustic and quirky, yet comfortable. The setting is private, in the Vermont woods (full of songbirds in warm weather, sheer beauty in winter). A view of the Connecticut valley, stone fireplaces, huge windows and a wood-fired hot tub near lakes, rivers & mountains: swim. skate. ski. hike. soak. 15 minutes from Hanover, NH.
This timber frame home was constructed using entire trees, harvested from the property, they stand, like totem poles, visually joining the surrounding woods. The south-facing, wall of glass window blurs the boundary between inside and out. It's like living inside the Nature Channel, in a reverse snow globe, surrounded by weather, but cozy, inside. Two stone fireplaces flank the main space, to enjoy firelight (during cold months), one even has a built in oven that can be used for cooking, if desired. Wide pine and oak floors made from timber from the property and milled just up the road. There is space to prep and eat contained in the rental suite, but the full kitchen, on the main floor, is available for guest use. Privacy Note that the Sky Room itself is private, with bed, table and chairs, lounge area, etc.. The loft area is semi-private, open to the main body of the house. There are folding screens to create privacy, but it is open to the ambiance, sounds, etc. of the main floor, below. Again, the loft is open to the house, so the semi-private loft, with privacy screens, etc., really needs to work for you. Please consider this, before renting. Thanks! FYI: This rental is for the Sky Room Suite, which does not constitute rental of the entire main floor. You are invited to pass through the main floor space, yet be aware that we live there and you will find evidence of our lives there. Entire House Rental is possible (ask about fee and availability): but this listing is for just the Master Suite a private room with it's own bath, loft and deck (with view (leafy view in full spring/summer)).
The neighborhood is very rural. This house is in the woods and other homes are only visible from the edge of the deck, or through the woods. None the less, we have a variety of great restaurants in the area and Hanover, NH is right down the road (15 minutes) where concerts, movies, dance performances, etc. are usually available. WINTER SPORT A ski slope (the Dartmouth Skiway, visible out the front window) is about 15 minutes away and has two chair lifts, and bunny slope, lodge, rental center and very reasonable rates. Two larger ski areas are each 60 miles from the house: Okemo and Stowe, both outstanding options. Cross country skiing is readily available near the house. The Lake Morey Resort golf course (1 mile away) is an excellent choice. WARM WEATHER SPORT Lake Morey is a large (600 acre) lake, a mile away and is great for swimming, boating, and maintains an fantastic ice skating track in winter. The Lake Morey Resort (at Lake Morey) has an 18 hole golf course (par 70), club house, bar, spa and special events. River swimming holes abound, nearby, I'll leave a listing in the house. They are perfection. Really. There are many local farms in the area that produce local foods, cheeses, meats, maple syrup and more. A listing of great visits will be available to guests. Hiking trails are available all around the local area. For a bigger climb, the White Mountains are about an hour and a half away, providing excellent mountain hiking / climbing and more.
  • I stayed here with 3 of my friends for a weekend and we had a great experience! Harrison was a very welcoming host and had wonderful local recommendations of things for us to check out and places to eat. The space is very open, but we felt he respected our privacy. We were able to enjoy nice conversation with Harrison yet we also had time to ourselves. The hot tub is well worth the $50. We were even thrilled to come back from a day of hiking one night and find out Harrison had warmed it for us! He is a very gracious, thoughtful, and easy-going host.

    Jessica2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were very pleased with Harrison's house and hospitality. The room is exactly as described. The loft room has a private room attached with a door along with a nice porch area. We really enjoyed the wood fire hot tub, highly recommended for any weather as it's hot! Harrison was easy to communicate with. Perfect place for a Vermont getaway weekend. Thank you!

    Anna2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We only spent the night at Harrison's place. His home is stunning and he was very welcoming and laid back. Love to come back for another getaway! Thanks!

  • Had a great weekend at Harrison's retreat in the woods! The space is cozy and comfortable and Harrison greeted us with coffee and conversation in the morning. The views from the master suite are spectacular! We had a very enjoyable time.

  • Harrison's Sky Room is exactly how it's described. In fact, it's better. Rustic, unique and cozy. An ideal get away. Harrison is a superb host, friendly and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this slice of paradise

    Colin2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Harrison's house is a gem in the Vermont area. Magically surrounded by woods, you wake up to the sound of nature. Unbearable views and amazing sunrise. Every little detail in the house is unique. It is one of its kind. We will definitely come back again.

    Estefania2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arriving, Harrison greeted me and inquired about the reason for my visit, my plans during my stay, and gave me a tour of the house (which is awesome!). He generously offered my use of anything in the shared living spaces, even offering to make me coffee in the morning. He made sure that I was well taken care of and had everything I needed for an enjoyable, relaxing stay. I really appreciated his hospitality.

    Jeremy2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Harrison was a wonderful host. He made us feel comfortable and welcome the entire time. His house was even cooler than the photos, couldn't have asked for more.

We love this sunny, cozy little cabin tucked back close to the surrounding woods off the road. This 2 br and 1.5 bathroom space is a lovely yet close getaway from Dartmouth/Hanover area! Great sleeping spaces! The front screened-in porch makes it a great place to sit in the evenings without any bother from summer bugs. You will find the cottage beautifully decorated. This stay will be one to put in the scrapbook and remember always!
Family friendly and equipped with all your travel needs! This small little house/cottage packs a punch! Complete kitchen for cooking in! Stocked with every piece of kitchenware you could imagine. Great in the summer for taking advantage of all the local farm (fruit/veggie) stands in the area and some of the local dairies where you can purchase fresh milk and cheeses! Minutes from hiking, fishing and local lakes and ponds. Across the Connecticut River from the popular Farm-Way Inc.-Vermont Gear! Cottage is located about 30 miles North of Dartmouth College.
A small grocery 'Four Corners Store' is about 1/2 mile down the road and 'in- season' has a great ice-cream stand! The owners are very friendly and can answer any questions you may have! There's a famous Pizza place across the river called Colatina Exit…a MUST if you have the time!
  • Easy access, loved sitting on the porch at night and in morning with breakfast. The night sky was incredible and I saw the Milky Way for the first time in decades. The house was very homey and we had everything we needed.

    hanyun2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and very comfortable cabin in New Hampshire! Our family of two adults and two kids (toddler and baby) had a great stay at Cynthia's place. The cabin is VERY well equipped and Cynthia provided good tips about places to go. She even had some things for breakfast waiting for us when we arrived. There are plenty of things to do nearby (lakes, mountains) and Cynthia was kind enough to lend us her paddleboard (we loved trying it!). Just take into account that there is nothing dividing the rooms upstairs. Our kids are heavy sleepers so that wasn't a problem, but we did had to lower our voices after their bedtime. To sum up, we had a wonderful time in the cabin and would love to come back other timer

    Sofia2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place is cozy and comfortable. Cynthia is accessible.

    Glenn2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend in Cynthia's home. It was super cozy and well equipped. The kitchen had every utensil you could possibly need. Soothing comfort in every room!

    Gina2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place comfortably sleeps three (four if you don't mind sharing a bed). It's a short drive from Fairlee/Piermont downtown (about 10 minutes). The wood burning stove is great and heats the house incredibly well (all bedrooms are in upstairs). All the basic amenities are there, and the kitchen/dining room has plenty of space. We used this as our lodging for a pond hockey tournament that was ~15 minutes away in Fairlee. We had five and two slept on the floor. We made our own meals at night and were very comfortable the whole time.

    Mark2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • The home is super cozy and perfect! We were here to work on a group project and loved the space and slept really comfortably. It's a gorgeous area but we didn't venture outside much because it was raining and because we were working on the project.

  • The photos really undersell how lovely this place is! It's clean, modern, beautiful. So warm and gorgeous! It even has a little porch, and you can pull into a car port. It's just a great little house and I wish we had been able to stay longer and hike and take advantage of the vegetable garden. There is no wifi, which is a bummer since there is no cell service anywhere in the area. Note to travelers: DO NOT listen to your GPS!! It routed us via a crazy trailhead road that nearly busted our car's axle. Amy will give you directions--follow them and don't try going any other way!

  • Amy was an incredible host, above and beyond in fact. She was generous, kind, and wicked fun to hang out with. It was my first time in Vermont, and her cottage was the ideal setting. nestled in the forest, with ponds, wild flower fields, and a menagerie of wildlife. My boyfriend and I ate fresh foods from her garden, wild caught venison, as well as the best pancakes I've ever had. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and special vacation. Thank you again Amy, you really made our trip a one of a kind experience.

    Suzanne2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first AirBnB experience and I'm afraid it's created too great of an expectation. The Peaceable Kingdom was even better than I expected. The cabin is absolutely adorable and much bigger than the pictures make it look. The location is way out there and incredible calm and relaxing. The views of the mountains just from the property is spectacular. Even though it rained for a good portion of our stay, we still had a great time just relaxing and reading. While it is remote, you can find plenty to do within 30 minutes, so it's not desolate. (Also, Amy gives GREAT restaurant recommendations!) The slab of bacon provided (along with other basic food items) might have changed my life it was so fantastic. We're hoping to be able to come back and stay here again.

    Ken2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's place was the perfect place to get away from it all. We were able to disconnect and enjoy the beauty of Vermont in this cottage. Only staying one night, we wished we could have stayed longer. They have everything you need and the check in and check out process was nice and easy!

    Katie2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful. Very secluded and private. The area around the cottage is full of flowers - so beautiful. The cottage is a perfect size and Amy could not have been nicer and easier to chat with. The cottage is beautiful inside - very comfortable and clean with everything you could need. Amy offered to buy me food prior to my arrival to make it easier since it is a little drive to the store. She brought me freshly baked bread and cream for my coffee too! I'll stay here again for sure!

  • My husband, 12 year old son and I were fortunate enough to spend almost a week at this beautiful home. The pictures on the airbnb site look amazing, but please be assured the beautiful home cannot be fully realized until you are there. It is situated on acres of woodlands, and the porch, and enclosed patio allowed us all amazingly peaceful and enjoyable evenings after days filled with kayaking, canoeing, and hiking. I highly recommend it as an ideal retreat for city folks, or those just looking to relax and get back to nature. The host, Kyle, is attentive and has every kind of amenity you can think up, and many that you will not. He is a gracious host. Our dog also accompanied us, and was delighted with the bed and pillow our host left for him. Also, we took the dog to a wonderful spot called Dog Chapel Mountain, an area not far from the house completely devoted to dogs, past and present. Lovely spot to hike also. We spent our evenings waiting for the hummingbird that stops by for the bird feeder, and watched as so many variety of birds came to join us on the porch. Loved this vacation, and highly recommennd it.

  • Great get away either with the family or with your friends. The house is far away from any noisy streets and has great views. The location is close to the lake and plenty of hiking trails. Kyle is very attentive to anything you need. I will definitely be staying here again.

    Maxime2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stay in Fairlee! Kyle's house is gorgeous and peaceful, close to beautiful Lake Fairlee and lots of other local attractions. Kyle is one of the best Airbnb hosts I've interacted with - clear communication and making sure we had everything we needed. Thanks!

  • Great place. Nice and quiet. Great communication with Kyle. Close to hiking, and Lake Fairlee.

    Jennifer2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's home was a wonderful retreat! Private, roomy (yet incredibly cozy), and a great value. Kyle was extremely quick and helpful with all communication. The home was exactly as described and the entire stay and process couldn't have been made any easier for us!

  • Clean, comfortable, kind man with an awesome relaxing get away! Nice family! You know how to entertain! Your home was the best! Yes we loved it!

    Christal2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle has provided anything you could possibly need in a home. The location and house is the perfect getaway from busy life (but you can still be connected via wifi, best of both worlds!). Definitely plan on returning and highly recommend to anyone and everyone looking for a relaxing escape :)

  • I stayed at Kyle's place with my family and we loved it!. It's a big, gorgeous and clean house with a great atmosphere so I would definitely recommend it. For sure one of my best airbnb experiences!

We are near I91 with all amenities available in the Upper Valley. Boating, hiking, golf, antiquing, art galleries, swimming, excellent restaurants are in the proximity of this lovely, quiet space. There is a small frig available for guests. We will be happy to spend time with guests and share what is available in the area. Minimum two night stay. There is a private area for one to sit and enjoy the property.
  • Faith's place in Orford is just as described--cozy, tranquil, and located within access of many beautiful sites. Faith provided us with plenty of tips on nearby sites and restaurants, and although out of town at our time of arrival, she made our arrival easy with detailed directions. And she made coffee for us on the way out of town. Faith's hospitable and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommended!

    Sam2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Faith was an amazing host! She greeted us with refreshments and answered all of our questions with kindness-- from helping with directions to giving suggestions on local restaurants, hikes, and more. The backyard was especially lovely, with a bench looking out to a babbling brook and some beautiful trees. Her dog was also very friendly.

    David2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really peaceful stay here. Faith was warm, attentive and welcoming. The room is facing the back yard which was a beautiful view to wake up to. We only had a small chance to connect with Faith in person on our way out, but I'm so glad we did.

We are located 3.2 miles from Lake Fairlee and 25 minutes from Hanover, NH.
  • We loved the place, especially the gorgeous view! It was very private and comfortable, just what we were looking for. The openess of the floor plan and the fully equipped kitchen was great for our post wedding party. The only drawback was the steepness and condition of the driveway, a worry for some of our older guests - we asked them to walk up and not drive up it due to the ruts. All in all, a great experience.

    Sarah2015-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's cabin is really quite perfect for a group of six. I have to say that the incredibly steep driveway was a bit of a surprise. It had recently snowed, and there was no way any of our cars would have been able to get up it (no salt used in VT). However, Rachel was very helpful in making sure we had enough wood for the fire, and that the driveway was at least plowed for us to walk up it (also there was a cut out at the bottom so that we could park and be off the road). Overall, it was a beautiful house with an amazing view and enough room for all of us to enjoy Vermont comfortably.

    Amanda2013-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is LOVELY! Right on top of the mountains! Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The kitchen is GORGEOUS and the view is BEAUTIFUL. We had a great time and Rachel was very helpful!

    Jenny2013-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing! A truly wonderful place to go to get away for a bit. It is in a beautiful location with an amazing view, near nice places to swim and places to get amazing farm produce. The actual house is also well equipped and very comfortable. I had no complaints being there and would recommend it to others to visit without hesitation.

  • Lovely cabin in the woods. We would certainly stay again

    alicia2016-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This house was great! It was spotless. The size was perfect for our group of 6 plus one dog and one 3 year old. The kitchen was very well equipped which allowed us to cook at home both nights. The view from the porch was incredible and we loved having snacks and drinks there every evening. The location was ideal for the bike race we were up there for. It was also not too far to Hanover and to the Northeast Kingdom. Rachel was wonderful to work with. Very helpful and her responses were always prompt. We would love to stay there again!

    Caroline2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was a helpful and responsive host and the house is lovely! Great views, comfy beds, nice kitchen. The complimentary maple syrup is a nice touch, and my 9-year-old loved exploring the woods behind the house. As a result of cooking bacon for breakfast, we knew that the smoke alarm worked! (And the oven runs cold.)

    Grace2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Fairlee! Rachel was an absolute great host, as soon as we arrived Rachel sent us a message making sure we were well accommodated and knew about the amenities, not to mention a hand-written note to our surprise. The house is located in the top of the Mountain and it's super quiet and relaxing. The view is breathtaking! We enjoyed waking up to birds chirping and my children loved running in the woods during the day. My wife arrived a day after due to her work schedule and she too was impressed with the place. We have been using Air BnB for years and many times the description is not accurate, so we could not have been happier. We plan on coming back in the fall to experience Vermont foliage and the view again. Thank you Rachel for the hospitality!

Enjoy the privacy of a separate entry.
  • Was a great place to stay close to the white mountians.

  • We had a lovely stay with Lucy and Paul. Everything was great, and the room is huge. You have the entire basement with include a room, bathroom, a huge living room with a fridge and everything to make coffee or tea. They even had pastries and cereales for us in the morning. Thanks for everything !

  • Great little spot. Even better than the pictures suggest. One note is there is only a small beverage fridge so don't bring lots of things to store in the fridge. The location is beautiful quiet and close to all sorts of trails. It's a great location to get away from it all and relax.

    Robyn2017-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy was a great host! This basement apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay including a beverage fridge. The location was perfect for what we needed. The surroundings are stunning.

  • What a wonderful place to stay with fantastic warm and friendly hosts! The suite is lovely and huge, with a giant living room space with large television and enormous couch, little kitchenette area with a microwave and Keurig, and a table you could sit at for a cup of coffee, and a private entrance. I particularly loved all the antique touches in the decor—washboards in the bathroom, a gorgeous old door made into the headboard, etc. Just a lovely space. The delicious breakfast (real maple syrup, as is required in New England, with perfect pancakes) and delightful conversation was such a wonderful bonus! I greatly enjoyed my stay, and would absolutely stay again in the future if looking for something in the area. And Bella, the sweetheart of a dog, is an added perk!

  • Lucy and Paul were gracious hosts, and welcomed my stay on very short notice. The guest space is large and warm, the bathroom is really nice, and the bed is comfy. There is a drink fridge, a microwave, and private access through the garage. Their dog Bella is adorable. Don't run the space heater and microwave and Keurig at once or you'll trip the breaker.

CabinSense is a private oasis on 175 acres with 3 large ponds hidden in the hills of Vermont. Simple and rustic, it stands in stark contrast our modern-day lifestyle. Without electricity, cell or Internet, it is offered as a special place to escape, unwind, rest & recharge. The main cabin has a bunk bed and a twin bed, a wood stove with oven, a cooler and an outdoor fire pit with grill. A second cabin accommodates parties larger than 3 but no more than 6.
The Main Cabin is made of full-scribed (swedish cope) white pine logs, 12 to 14 inches in diameter. The building is 16x18 feet with a 6 foot covered porch. The roof and sub floor are fully insulated with recycled fibers and the floors are planked with rough-sawn 2-inch-thick hemlock. Inside, there is a hand-crafted bunk bed, an antique table, chairs and a wood-fired cylinder stove with oven and side-mounted hot-water tank. The Extra Cabin - If you have more than 3 people in your party and no more than 6, there is a second cabin with 3-burner propane stove, dry sink, wood stove, screen porch and sleeping loft with king bed and a single bed. This cabin is not insulated, but is spacious and located only a few minute walk from the main cabin on the other side of the pond. We only offer this cabin as extra space for groups larger than 3 but no more than 6. The minimum base rate is $150 for the main cabin plus $25 per person for parties with more than 3 people up to 6. The Land - The cabins are located on 175 acres of pristine Vermont forest populated with old-growth trees, well-defined trails, moss covered rocks and ledges, deep valley bogs, elevated hilltops and three large ponds. The cabins are located next to the south and middle ponds. The Ponds - The ponds cascade one to the other and are supplied by cool mountain springs located on the property. Each pond is suitable for swimming, kayaking, canoeing and fishing (perch). Together they attract and support an abundance of wildlife including duck, owl, deer and black bear. They are surrounded by hiking trails and have multiple access points, including a 30-foot rope swing next to the main cabin, docs and swimming raft. The water is cool and refreshing. In combination, this "space" is like renting your own National Park.
  • The cabin is the epitome of privacy, beauty and simplicity. Our family had a magical day swimming in the pond, cooking over the fire, resting on the porch overlooking the pond, and exploring the beautiful forrest around the cabin. It is a quintessential log cabin, with beautiful rustic furnishing and comfortable beds. At the end of a long forrest road, it is entirely private, lovely and serene. We had a wonderful time and are already planning a return trip next summer.

    Nan2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is secluded and amazing. Chris has thought of most anything you need for utility or fun including a canoe, tubes, fishing rod, the cleanest outhouse I or my guests had ever seen. It is the real deal. Just know that the cabin is about a half mile down a varied terrain dirt road so 4 wheel drive, SUV or truck is preferred especially if it has just rained.

    Andrew2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing experience! Chris gave us detailed instructions to get there and even allowed us quite an early check in! The kayak and river tubes provided were a great plus! Would highly recommend! A true wild experience!

    Vandana2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing, beautifully constructed rustic cabin that provided exactly the off-grid experience we were seeking. The plot is setup wonderfully, we loved cooking over the campfire and leaping off the rope swing. And while you feel like you're deep in the wilderness when perched on an easy chair overlooking the fog-strewn pond, the cabin is actually only a brief dirt-road drive from Thetford, so you're never too far from the country store if you need it.

    Max2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • HIGHLY recommended. Chris was incredibly helpful at providing info about the place and check in. It's beautiful and even better than the pictures.

    Joseph2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful weekend stay. Gorgeous land and fairytale-like cabin! Perfect getaway spot if you're looking for peace and quiet. Chris is a wonderful host, he has been so kind! Hoping we can go back soon, definitely one of my most memorable and favorite getaways.

    Gizem2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin and the location are simply wonderful We will come back!!!

    Gianluca2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was an amazing host right from the first email and made everything easy and understandable with respect to directions and explanations of all the unique characteristics of the property. The property was immaculate and well stocked for us, and it exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful one night/24 hour stay and enjoyed the property immensely! When we first arrived there, we did some "pond hopping" in the afternoon with our kayaks - experiencing all three ponds to the greatest extent....... later in the evening we enjoyed an excellent meal at the Lyme Inn - only a short 10 minute drive across the river to Lyme, NH. Upon return, we made a fire inside the cabin because it did get a bit chilly at night. We loved the wood stove in the cabin (very responsive) and heated up the place very quickly. We cooked a nice breakfast in the morning and really appreciated the propane stove.... the burners were great to cook on...... after morning coffee and breakfast, we hiked up the red trail and enjoyed the incredible view of Ascutney and the mountains to the south. Again, Chris was a wonderful host and made the whole process very enjoyable. We never met Chris in person, but he made it clear that he wanted to respect our privacy but that he would be there if we needed him for anything. This is a real special place! It really is like a national park.......... sans tourists! We hope to return in the winter to experience it in an entirely different light.

Rustic, cozy 1 bedroom guest house for 2 with full kitchen and bath in rural VT, 30 mins from Hanover NH.
I have lived in this sweet little barn for years while renting out the main house - it is a sweet, cozy tiny house! Now I have decided to rent out the barn while I do renovations in the main house. The space is perfect for two but a twin bed in the living room can sleep one more if needed. Dogs are welcome as long as they are house trained and won't chew or break anything.
I am located just a few miles from Interstate-91 but tucked away on a quiet dirt road and close to Lake Morey and Lake Fairlee. There is awesome hiking in the area and a small downtown area a few miles away.
  • First of all, Mary is a wonderful host just getting into Airbnb with a small converted barn in the midst of Vermont's lovely countryside. A fully equipped kitchen, looks-like-new bathroom, and comfy queen-size bed - the kind you can fall asleep on before you take off your glasses (like me). Mary is SO considerate - two sinful cupcakes on the counter next to a Keurig coffeemaker, and enough nice new plates, stainless steel table setting, baking vessels - the works. All around you are lovely New England farms. In one direction is a modern Hanniford supermarket less than 3 miles away - and if you're there on a Saturday night, you can get the whole regional experience by visiting the Bear Mountain Speedway, a dirt track course like the one a kid named Mario Andretti raced on 60 years ago. This is not a "Holiday Inn" - this is the New England electic which is why you are coming to New England and not Manhattan!

    Mel 2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and her family warmly welcomed us into the house. The house had everything we needed for our stay and was very clean and beautifully arranged. We really loved the way she has decorated the house which brought character to it. We would highly recommend "The Barn" at Bradford!!

  • Mary's barn apartment was adorable. It was clean, quiet and set in some beautiful countryside. Mary was extremely responsive to any messages I sent and left a couple of delicious muffins for us! We had a great time there and will definitely return!

    Dan2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's "barn" was the perfect location to be close to Bradford and East Corinth for a weekend getaway. It was private and quaint with beautiful flower gardens surrounding the home. Mary had provided muffins and everything we needed as we used Mary's as our homebase for hiking. I especially appreciated Mary's communication as I finalized the location and arrival time. I would recommend this location for a visit to the VT mountains.

Next door to Dartmouth College, nestled in a quaint New England Village, you’ll love my fully restored 240+ year old home. Anyone looking for a quiet rural get away, adventure-filled outdoor experiences and a dash of international culture, come to Lyme. My home offers both a peaceful getaway and a springboard for all this region offers. I welcome couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families.
I think the pictures tell the story! If you have questions, please ask.
This is a sweet little New England village - you will be within walking distance to 3 lovely restaurants, the Common, our library and the school playground. Lots of cycling and hiking here. Plenty of XC and Downhill skiing (some walking distance!)
  • Our two families spent 4 days in this quiet and comfortable home. Our host was wonderfully supportive and caring with communication while at the same time providing us the privacy we appreciated. The home is beautiful and the area is amazing. Highly recommended.

  • Fantastic, scenic, quiet place. We had 5 in our group and everyone really enjoyed it. Lovely attention to detail - even fresh flowers throughout. Wine and fresh bread to welcome us on arrival. Very well-equipped kitchen if you like to cook. It's an old house but very modern in its conveniences and furnishings. Terrific place and we would certainly go back.

  • I took my two sons to stay at this house in June. Karen was a fantastic and accessible host. This house is amazingly well-built, very high quality throughout. I renovate houses and can appreciate the quality of these house details, solid doors, etc. The house is extremely comfortable. The outdoor deck was great for entertaining a few friends. The beds were great. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you might need to cook. The street is nice and quiet, but still centrally located in Lyme. Overall, a great experience. I would highly recommend.

    Joseph2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful country retreat in quiet Lyme, NH. Karen's home fit our family of four perfectly. We were in NH for camps at Dartmouth College (10 miles / 20 minutes to campus and Hanover). Open and inviting living space. Large back deck with a grill overlooking the yard, woods and beautifully manicured perennial gardens. Kitchen with everything needed to cook meals. Internet is available but not great, but it is not great as we found in a lot of the surrounding area of NH and VT! Karen is very responsive by email. She was also wonderful in asking what we also wanted to do in our free time and provided us with awesome bike and hiking trips! Karen had a detailed handout on her home for us when we arrived. It covered house rules and included information on the surrounding area ~ delicious restaurants, some walkable from her home. Lyme is a very small NH town with a green, general store, post office, hardware store and a few restaurants. Hope to be able to visit again! Loved our time there :)

  • A lovely place in a charming location, with a great host. Will definitely consider staying here again if I'm back in the area.

  • Christopher is a hospitable host, easy to communicate with and quite welcoming in terms making the stay uncomplicated. I would strongly recommend him as a host. His room is nice, clean and private. In terms of location, even though his place is a 15 min car ride from Hanover, finding taxis is a practically impossible task in that town and can leave you stranded with no viable alternative to get to his place. Its a great option for those driving in their own vehicles.

    Abhijat2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was a great host! He was flexible, kind and honest. The room was simple yet spacious and was perfect for what we needed; A nice place to hang your hat for the night. I'd definitely be open to booking with Chris again, if ever in the area.

The perfect springboard place for foliage, hiking, biking, day trips and more! Comfortable and spacious with full bed on a quiet residential street. Hardwood floor, fun décor; pretty view out the east window. There is a small futon chair in the room suitable for a child age four to nine or so; twin floor mattress may also be available by reservation. Check our weekly and monthly discounts, and our reviews-- lots of people return to stay with us-- and our other listings at this location too :)
This is our home... we love it and according to most we keep it reasonably tidy. At the same time, we lead rich lives and try not to stress if things get backed up now and then. Rest assured that our listing rooms and linens are always cleaned before the arrival of each new guest. Same goes for the guest bathroom upstairs-- however, it is a shared space and may at any time reflect some use! If we're around, please let us know if it needs attention; if not, there are cleaning supplies in the hall closet just outside the bathroom :) There are still a few places in our home awaiting renovation, mainly in the way of “finishing touches”. Each area has full functionality. PLEASE NOTE: If you book within 24 hours of arrival, we may not be able to clean your room until the late afternoon. You are still welcome to arrive as early as 1 p.m. and use the facilities.
Beautiful tree-lined street with plenty of space between houses, kind neighbors and very little traffic. Large supermarket, drug store and other churches and stores within 2 miles, including the famous Farm-Way outdoor outfitters, gift shop and more. There are also several parks in Bradford: Elizabeth’s Park... Huge playground that families come from miles around to enjoy. Denny Park... Gazebo and green space in the middle of downtown with views of the White Mountains. Boch Park... Also downtown on Main Street, overlooks the dam on the Waits River and its beautiful waterfall!
  • Nice , quite , elegant place in Bradford , Vermont . Located near hiking points , easy access to stores and local food points. Hosts are very nice people, communication is great via Airbnb or messaging .

  • Bed and Linens were very comfortable. Supplied towels and custom soap were perfect. Bathroom was well equipped and has a great walk in shower. Home is very user friendly. Check in was a breeze. Don and Jenifer unfortunately were just leaving for the weekend so we did not get the pleasure of meeting and getting to know them. Our little interaction was more than pleasant. House is an easy walk to center of Bradford and about a 15 minute ride to Bear Ridge Speedway which was our final destination. I will not hesitate to recommend or return myself

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Good location for bikers, near good biking roads. Walking distance to Lake Fairlee. Watch the hot air balloons from your livingroom window.
  • Chuck and Joan's place is very clean and convenient, right by Lake Fairlee in a beautiful area. In all communication they responded very quickly and were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay!

  • Chuck & Joan's place was perfect for my stay in VT. They are very close to the lake & have a beautiful home. Be sure to ask for directions as GPS is not the most reliable there & cell phone reception is shaky. Thanks Chuck & Joan!

  • Great place for a getaway weekend, very quaint and New England-style atmosphere. Chuck and Joan were a pleasure to deal with!

  • Joan and Chuck were gracious hosts - very responsive via email to any questions in the lead up to us arriving. Cozy suite of rooms - bedroom, bathroom, sunroom with TV, and kitchen. We only stayed for a weekend, but with all the space and amenities offered, it would be great for anyone wanting to spend more time in Vermont!

  • We were promptly greeted when we arrived. This was a perfect location for our visit. The apartment was clean and exactly as advertised. Well equipped kitchen. Loved listening to the farm animals as well.

  • Great hosts! A nice, clean, spacious, and private apartment. The area is rural surrounded by farmland. Close to Lake Fairlee and a short drive to Morely Lake. Did some hiking, boating and much needed relaxing. We would love to stay there again if in the area.

  • We were here for attending the commencement ceremony at Dartmouth. We had a great time. It was clean, serene, quiet, scenic and waking up to the happy chirping sounds of birds and farm animals was the best of all! There is a lovely garden in the backyard with flowers, geese, hens and cows too. Chuck and Joan are very good hosts who let us check in earlier than planned and were willing to help us in any way they could to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommend this place.

  • Carolyn was a phenomenal host. She was very available and wanted to make sure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The fresh eggs were great and the house is super beautiful. I would highly recommend a stay here.

    Sam2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn's house was exceptional. It was spotless, comfortable and cozy. The surroundings are breathtaking. Carolyn was very attentive before we arrived. She left several food items (coffee, milk and butter) to make our morning easier and relaxed. She also came over to introduce herself to us in the morning and was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a family reunion. We will consider staying here again if the opportunity arises. Thank you Carolyn! I know it takes a lot of work to prepare for so many guests and for only one night.

    Mary2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful stay at the Purple Palace and can't wait to return! Carolyn is an incredibly thoughtful and kind hostess. She was so accommodating and generous - and she has the sweetest family and an adorable dog too. The home setting is serene, beautiful, and wonderfully secluded, but it's also relatively close to great towns like Hanover NH. Carolyn is the epitome of an artist and the artwork in the home is captivating - museum quality. Abandon the phone and tv- come here with a great book and relax in one of the many hammocks throughout the house. Pure joy.

Furnished antique farm house in Orford, NH. 16 miles north of the Dartmouth College campus with easy access to Exit 15 of I-91. Five bedrooms (2 king beds, 1 queen, 1 full bed, 1 twin) plus a finished attic that can sleep a gang. 3 full bathrooms. 5 acres. Country setting next door to large dairy farm - wonderful neighbors! The house has an occupied apartment attached - another great neighbor.
    Beautiful antique country farmhouse.
Rural setting with easy access to Hanover, NH (Dartmouth College), Connecticut River, Lake Morey, Lake Fairlee, White Mountains, Appalachian Trail, skiing, golf, etc. Next door to a wonderfully interesting dairy farm, complete with robotic milking machines - and the farmers love to give tours!
  • The house was beautiful and very quiet. We wanted a place where we could house the whole family and be comfortable while we attended my daughter's graduation and this fit the bill nicely. We were welcomed upon our arrival, shown around the house and given all the information we might need during our stay - it was perfect. The yard and fields yielded some relaxing walks/runs and wildlife viewing.

    Rebecca2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a nice house in a beautiful setting. We were there with another family, totaling 3 kids and 4 adults, and the house was a good size for us. The house is close to Hanover and Norwich, as well as Lake Fairlee and Lake Morey, and several hikes that were manageable for the kids (and us). It is a secluded but well-maintained property close to farms but about 5 minutes from the small town amenities. Our hosts were accessible but not intrusive, so we could contact them easily with any questions, and they made us feel welcome. We had a great stay!

  • The house was exactly as described. Beautiful property, lots of bedrooms, very clean, and great amenities. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Carl!

  • We were very lucky to find this place as we had our family visit us soon and was looking for something spacious and not far from Hanover. The house is great and has everything you would need for a short or long vocation. It's located about 15-20 min drive from Hanover in a beautiful rural area of New Hapmshire. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for almost 4 weeks stay. The hosts, Carl and Cari were very kind to tell us about the area and even let us use their little garden if we needed. There are plenty things to do in the area. There is a milk farm next to the house that is worth to visit especially if you have kids, there is a beautiful lake Morey 5 min drive, where you can take a boat, kayak or just swim, there are many farms around you can visit and 'pick your own' fruit or berries and so on. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this place and will gladly come back next time we plan our vocation in New Hampshire

    Elena2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I greatly enjoyed my time spent in the Lovejoy home. The historic farmhouse has everything you will need. The dwelling was clean and nicely decorated. I used the house as a base so that I could explore both Vermont and New Hampshire. It is also conveniently located just a short drive from Hanover and Dartmouth College. Be sure to visit Ariana's Restaurant situated just north of Orford. Although there were only two of us, the farmhouse would be perfect for a larger family.

You’ll love this rustic spot nestled in the beautiful hills of Vermont, minutes away from two rivers, and lovely walks with valley views all around you. It's also just 15 minutes from Dartmouth College with it's libraries, fine music, theater, dance and films, and 20-25 from 3 local hospitals. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and traveling nurses.
Within walking distance to a small classic New England town, our house backs up onto woods that border a state forest full of trails for walking & skiing. We are about 15 minutes away from the Dartmouth Skiway and many local hiking trails and rivers and lakes to swim in. If you don't like to cook there are many good restaurants and pubs nearby, we'd be happy to recommend, in addition to a small local breakfast and lunch spot open all year round and an organic farm with a cafe open during the warmer months.
Our place is perfect if you like living in a rural setting and all that it has to offer but want (or need) to be close to Dartmouth College, local hospitals (DHMC, WRJ VA, and Alice Peck Day), and other business and shopping related necessities.
  • I enjoyed a lovely stay at a quaint, quiet home in the Vermont countryside. Kerstin was great at making sure that my questions were answered before my arrival.

    Cindy2016-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kerstin is really welcoming and friendly. She made us tea upon arrival. (Being English, this is always my benchmark for a decent person!) She's a very generous host. The views from her house are stunning, due to the thick fog all weekend, we got to see them on our last morning. Thank you Kerstin x

This charming 1820 farmhouse at 64 River Rd., 18 miles north of Hanover, is a seasonal home that accommodates large groups in 7 bedrooms & 3 baths. Available June 7 - Oct. 19 for single or multiple families. The house is not suitable for weekend parties and does not have central heating.
Peaceful Valley Farm is located on the River Road along New Hampshire’s scenic river byway. The fully furnished 1820 historical Federal-style farmhouse has been the seasonal home of three generations of the Huntington family because it easily accommodates large groups: three bedrooms with double beds; two bedrooms with 2 single beds; one bedroom with 1 single bed; and a bunk room with 5 additional beds. There are three bathrooms located upstairs, two with showers. The large kitchen is heated by a converted wood-to-propane stove and one of the 2 living rooms has a working fireplace. Two refrigerators and a walk-in pantry with 3 sets of china and every possible piece of cookware make this gathering space functional. The covered porch adjacent to the kitchen has seating for 10-12 people and the expansive lawn is used for croquet, badminton, bocce and whiffle ball (all stored in the barn). Two charcoal grills and a gas grill make cooking outdoors possible. Although worn by the ages, this old house still exudes incredible charm and conviviality. However, it's location on a quiet road next to neighbors make it unsuitable for large groups partying all night and making noise. Absolutely no fireworks or smoking on the premises.
The neighbors south of us in Lyme, NH occupy the Moses Kent Farm, a Federal-style home that has been restored and placed in easement n order to preserve some of the best examples of Rufus Porter's murals. Lake Morey and Lake Fairlee are nearby, making this a convenient place to stay when visiting campers or looking for a weekend of golf or boating.
  • We had a wonderful time at Peaceful Valley Farm. The house is large and rustic. Even with 10 of us there were plenty of beds and common space. We enjoyed canoeing on the Connecticut and playing baseball in the side yard. We had my one year old daughter with the us and the house is very kid friendly.

    Jessie2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Lindsay's house with our extended family for a weekend and had a wonderful time. The property and house are spacious and beautiful-- especially the relaxing porch where we spent many hours. Kids enjoyed swimming in the river and the house is close to several lakes and hikes. We would definitely stay here again!

    Autumn2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We found the farm to be a rustic, restful and altogether pleasant getaway. It is as advertised, no wireless or TV. Perfect for exploring the upper valley canoeing, hiking or just relaxing by the river.

    Anna-Marie2015-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a wonderful stay at this charming farmhouse. We loved the history, the surroundings, and the feel of an obviously beloved family home for generations. The kitchen and bathrooms are not up to date, but we knew that before we rented and were fine with that. We were only 20 minutes away from Dartmouth and were able to easily get back and forth for graduation activities. Our host, Lindsay, was very helpful and answered all my questions. We had friends come over Saturday evening and ate outside on the picnic table enjoying the surroundings. We had a wonderful time!

    Elizabeth2015-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful Valley Farm was exactly as described and perfect to house our overflow guest for a reunion. Owners were lovely and easy to work with. Would highly recommend!

  • Old farmhouse in a beautiful location.

    Ron2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely and the host left good instructions to follow. The only thing that was a bit of a challenge was the fact that there was no bathroom on the first floor.

    charlotte2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • One of my favorite places on earth! Such a wonderful and spectacular home and property with so much character. I spent the weekend here with my closest girlfriends and we used the spacious and well-equipped kitchen to cook a giant meal one night and went to one of the many delicious local restaurants that Lindsay recommended on the second night. We hung out on the dock by the river, took a dip, played lawn games in the giant yard, relaxed on the porch, and visited the very nearby and beautiful Lake Morey. Couldn't have asked for a better setting for our special getaway. I would definitely stay here again, but next time it will have to be for much longer than a weekend! Too much to enjoy!!

Sunshade cabin is a step back in time recalling the golden age of family lake camps in Vermont. Able to accommodate 5. It features two queen beds and one single camp bed. Steps away from Lake Morey and hiking trails. Enjoy a breakfast of pastries, fruit and coffee/juice before or after watching the sunrise from Eagle's Bluff. Transportation and sightseeing tours are available options, just ask us. Relax, refresh, recharge and make new memories at a wonderful location in rural Vermont.
  • Great host, very communicative and was able to accommodate our breakfast request since we could not eat sugar, Rick brought mini bagels for our breakfast. Cabin is very cozy and filled with books, DVDs and kids' toys. The only thing I would suggest is it would be nice to have a table there, so if people order take out, they have a table to eat on. Overall, a good experience!

  • Rick was nice and very helpful when we couldn't find the place....he even made a fire for us in the fire pit. We liked the chickens too....

    darlene2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Rick is a very nice host. We have a group of 6 people. We need a place to stay in Fairlee and head to Gorton park the next day. We arrived late on Friday , around 10:30pm, however, Rick was still awake to welcome us. He also set up the pit for us. The fire pit was really very impressive. It is good for a group of friends to stay around the pit and have a chat. The bathroom is cozy and very clean. The sleeping area is spacious and can definitely hold 5 people. There are decoration all around the cabin. Moreover, Rick offer breakfast for all of us. The maple yogurt and cereal is marvelous, I swear I have never had something that fresh and tasty in my life before. The donuts are very good too. The next morning, Rick showed us around his house and told us a little things about his family and the hens and the fresh laying eggs. We all enjoyed staying in Rick house. If you are finding a place to stay for a Vermont trip, highly recommend Rick's house.

  • Rick and his family were great hosts. The cottage is charming, and it has everything you need, very well appointed. The beds were very cozy, and when we returned from dinner on our second night, we were greeted with a wonderful fire in the pit, just outside the cottage. The breakfast was also a nice treat, best coffee cake I've ever had. The one negative was that we only stayed two nights. We highly recommend Sunshade. Thanks, Rick!

  • Great place to stay and very nice hosts. Beds are comfortable and clean house. Outdoor grounds and fire pit are nice to relax around.

  • This was a perfect cottage for our girls weekend getaway! Plenty of room for all three of us to hang out. Everything you need is there - including a full morning coffee/tea/cocoa set up and breakfast delivered to your doorstep! Plenty of bedding and a fully stocked bathroom with all the incidentals. If it were warmer we would have loved to enjoy the fire pit right outside the door!

    jen2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Such a comfortable cabin! Adorable with comfortable beds, well-stocked book shelves, many toys and games, and goodies for breakfast on top! It is in a lovely location with seating areas including a fire pit and also a gurgling fountain that adds to the comfort and peace. A definite A+. Signed, A Happy Group from Kansas.

    Trish2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and communicated back and forth about staying at his place and he made someone was there to greet our party. We had 5 of us staying in the cabin for a nearby wedding, which fit us all and felt cozy and warm, on this damp weekend. Although all the beds are in the same room, essentially, there is privacy provided by a wall divider. Everything was comfortable, easy to get to and a perfect spot to stay for our nearby wedding. We even went on a easy, but climbing hike down the road to Eagle's Bluff, with a bit of a view through the fog. Breakfast was delicious!

Our cozy, quiet 4-room apartment is perfect for a single person or couple. It's an ideal rural location for visiting Dartmouth College (9 miles) and Dartmouth Ski-way (3 miles), along with access to hiking, biking, lakes, and the Connecticut River. Though the apartment has a full kitchen, there are several good restaurants and pubs nearby (1 mile), plus a neighborhood restaurant within walking distance that serves breakfast and lunch.
Our private apartment is attached to our home. It has its own entrance and is self-contained. There is lots of closet and drawer space, and the kitchen is fully equipped, including a coffee maker, microwave, stove, dishes, etc. Wifi is available throughout the apartment.
A post office, grocery store, restaurant (serving breakfast and lunch), organic farm stand, bank, and gas station are all within walking distance. The Connecticut River is 3/10 of a mile down the street and we're surrounded by farmland. Across the river is Lyme, NH (1 mile), which offers three excellent restaurants and pubs.
  • Cozy yet spacious, bright, and clean. This was the perfect spot for the three of us, very kid friendly! Jennifer and Ray are wonderful, generous hosts. They left us breakfast items and a new snacks to get us through the morning. Super convenient location, with Lyme right across the river and Hanover a quick drive away. Very handy to have a diner, the gas station and convenient store a quick walk away.

  • We had an absolutely comfortable stay at Jennifer's place over the weekend on a summer weekend in August 2017 to visit the White Mountains National Park in neighboring New Hampshire. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. She had tons of good books in case you are interested in reading. The apartment overlooked the mountains and had a really nice view. Thetford is pretty close to Dartmouth college area so there are tons of good restaurants and eating places within 15 minutes driving distance. I will certainly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to spend their time in the area.

This lovely home is located on Lake Fairlee in the quiet and quaint Vermont countryside. Just 17 miles from Dartmouth, this is the perfect place for visiting parents of college students, family vacations, or anyone looking to get away from it all.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. There is also a pullout couch (double bed) available in the living room. On the upstairs level, there are two twin beds that can be converted to a king bed, and ample room for multiple air mattresses.
  • We stayed with two friends of ours a couple of days over New Year's Eve and had a great, relaxing time at the Lake Fairlee Cozy Cottage! After a heavy snow storm, we felt very comfortable and warm inside the really cozy house with a wonderful view of the winter wonderland around us.

  • Beautiful lake, garden, and house. My family all loved Cozy Cottage from the moment we drove up the driveway. The house had a very well outfitted kitchen with a nice kitchen table from which you had a glorious view of an attractive formal garden with a background of a mountain. The lake across the street is serene with a private dock. The living room with the comfy chairs and sofas and variety of books made for cozy, comfortable retreat for the family. There is a wrap around screened in porch but no chairs on it although you could simply take the kitchen chairs out there. The house was spic and span and completely charming. I only we could have stayed longer.

  • The home is very comfortable with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs and a large room with a bedroom upstairs. The kitchen is small, but the screened in porch and large backyard make up for it. The house is very close to Lake Fairlee but unfortunately you can't see the lake from the house. The access to the lake is narrow so it's more of a simple boat launch than a place you could hang out. You can however drive to the public beach access on the other side of the lake if you'd like.
