Gorgeous Gothic Church, tastefully converted into a 6 bedroom house, with stunning original features, sleeps 17 (a few more with a squash)! In a peaceful village, 2 miles from the historic Cathedral City of Wells, Bath and Bristol - 30 mins. PLEASE NOTE: 1) Price listed is for 16 guests. Welcome to this magical part of Somerset, only 3 miles from Glastonbury festival site! From quiet family get-togethers to grand house parties – the Gothic Church is a unique and fun modern party venue for all occasions and will ensure wonderful memories of your special celebrations. Built in 1838 the Old Gothic Church stands in the sleepy village of East Horrington, 2 miles from Wells, Britain’s smallest city (it has a Cathedral, therefore it’s a city!) offering good shopping facilities as well as restaurants and pubs, a cinema, churches of most denominations, together with open-air markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Wells is making a name for itself as a film location, the most recent productions which have been filmed here are “The Libertine” starring Johnny Depp, the hit movie Hot Fuzz and the second film about Queen Elizabeth 1st called “The Golden Age” starring Cate Blanchett. The Gothic Church is a fine example of early Victorian sacred architecture and has been recently renovated to the highest of modern standards. It is now a unique and fun party venue for private celebrations offering sumptuous living and working spaces and rooms with individual interiors. Entering via the immense vaulted atrium you’ll find three downstairs bedrooms, one bathroom and one shower room and a fully-equipped 44ft kitchen/breakfast room. There are also stunning spaces for optional spa/pamper sessions. Ascending the open-plan double staircase you will find on one side of the atrium the spectacular banqueting gallery with its three original stained glass windows. On the other side are three further bedrooms, another shower room and the spacious Chancel living room with its central glass wood-burning stove and impressive Gothic windows, with views as far as the mystical Glastonbury Tor and the Isle of Avalon. Outside is a private decked courtyard complete with indoor hot tub and seating area. There is off-road parking for 3 cars with additional parking available further down the lane.
Spa and pampering sessions: You can book external treatments direct with Thermae Bath Spa (in Bath), or we can help you arrange for local qualified therapists to visit and treat you at The Gothic Church. Countryside activities – The Mendip hills are a beautiful part of England where you can find activities to suit everyone. From peaceful walks, golf or horse-riding to more unusual sports such as clay-pigeon shooting, hot-air ballooning, karting, rock climbing and 4×4 off-roading Eating In: You can plan to cook your own party meals to be enjoyed in the atmospheric banqueting gallery. If cooking is not your forte, you could select a local take-away to deliver, or arrange delicious catered meals by high quality chefs; delivered, served and cleared away – all great options and none needing taxis! Eating Out: There is a wealth of local restaurants and cafes to choose from in Wells as you wander through the picturesque streets.
  • This. Place. is. AMAZING! 14 of us stayed here for my best friend's Hen Party. It was honestly better than I could have ever imagined. If you are planning a hen or big group getaway, THIS IS YOUR PLACE! It is SO COOL! And unique and amazing. It's absolutely huge and to have so much space with such a big group is really important - we totally didn't feel on top of eachother at all. The space is VAST. Lots of fridge space and eating space and everything you need to do big meals etc. Everything was spotless when we arrived, which must be difficult with such a huge place so credit to the cleaner!! We decorated the place with things we could tie with string, as they specify to not use cellotape / blue tac or anything which was absolutely fine. Plenty of things to tie balloons etc to, with string. The beds are actually incredibly comfortable as well! We bought a speaker with us to play music and had lots of fun and dancing in the kitchen. We were concious of noise but were able to have lots of singing and dancing, within reason! On the Saturday night we got a minibus (would reccommend SouthWest Minibuses) into Bristol to go for dinner and cocktails. It is worth noting that the drive into Bristol is about 45-50 minutes, rather than 35 mins which I think is in the AirBnb description. The hot tub in the shed in the garden is LUSH. It's lovely and big. We had about 8 of us in there at one point. Was lovely to sit in there with the door open to let fresh air in. It was a bit disappointing that when we arrived, the housekeeper told us it was too cold for us to go in but that it would warm up for the evening, however when we checked it in the evening it still wasn't warm enough for us to get in. I told the housekeeper and within minutes the maintenance man came round (which is incredible - thank you!) and he said there was a technical fault that morning so it didn't have time to heat up in time. It just meant we couldn't use it on the first day, but that was fine as we were too busy chatting and dancing anyway! By Saturday morning it was absolutely perfect. The maintenance man & housekeeper were just a phone call / text away and were very helpful (the heating went off at one point and they helped us fix it right away). James, the host, was excellent in the run up to our stay. Really good communication with lots of advice and answered all my questions. This place literally made the hen weekend. Wish we could go back and do it all again! Thank you so much to the team @ The Old Church!

  • We spent NYE at James' place and it was amazing. The building itself was unreal (probably better than the photos) and the location was really easy to get to from London and also a great base for a nice country walk - Especially when there is a hot tub to come back to! The house was so spacious and fully equipped for 16 people to relax, have dinner and sleep. Check-in and all comms were really easy between James and Ewa and they provided everything we needed to know upfront. Overall, we all had a fantastic time and would really recommend it to groups wanting a weekend outside of the city. Thank you James and Ewa!

  • The Gothic Church is a fantastic place for a group of friends, with lots of bedrooms and communal areas. We loved the lounge room with the fireplace, the big kitchen, and the mezzanine with a table that could seat us all for group meals. The booking process was simple and James was very accommodating and helpful with local recommendations. There are some lovely country walks and local pubs nearby.

  • We had a fabulous time. It’s a great location, access to so many places, Wells, Glastonbury, Bath etc. The house was perfect for a girls weekend get together. The beds are comfortable and there is lots of space. Everyone loved it.

  • Stayed here for my sister’s hen do and it was perfect for it! Great location and James gave us lots of ideas of things to do nearby. The church itself was beautiful and had everything we needed. Thanks very much!

  • We had such a lovely weekend stay at The Gothic Church, a perfect space for friends or family to stay. The church is super clean, inviting, beautifully decorated and in the cutest of villages with a fab pub a nice walk away. James and Ewa are great communicators and made it super easy to find things about about the area, and how to get in and out of the church. The hot tub was a fab addition, which was lovely and relaxing and a whole lot of fun. I totally recommend staying at The Gothic Church for a relaxing weekend with friends, or family or as a base to the amazing surrounding village and towns. :-)

  • We have just got home after the most brilliant weekend at the Old Vicarage. There was plenty of room for 21 of us, and we loved the hot tub! Everything was exactly as advertised and more! We arranged a caterer to come and cook for us on the Saturday night, so we could make the most of the fabulous kitchen and dining table. Harriet was so helpful and gave loads of brilliant information about the local area etc. I’m already trying to think of an excuse to come back!

    Katie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Vicarage was the perfect location for our friend group to gather over New Years. The house is spacious- plenty of room for the 8 couples and two children on our mini-holiday to spread out during the day for work, naps, cooking, and privacy. In addition to being an amazing property, the surrounding village, local pub (The Oakhill Inn) and surrounding attractions were an unexpected value-add, making our trip that much more memorable. Harriet is an excellent host!

  • I cannot recommend the Manor or our hosts highly enough. The house is absolutely stunning - even bigger and grander than expected - the perfect setting for a rainy retreat to the country. Maryam and Emma both responded to all of my queries before and during the weekend with lightening speed and their recommendations were spot on. Can’t fault this place at all, an AirBnb gem - get booking!

  • Just echoing other reviews - the place is absolutely stunning and pictures can't do it justice. I had my 30th birthday weekend here with 15 of my friends and it was wonderful. We also had a welcome bottle of prosecco and flowers waiting for us, which was a great touch. Maryam was very quick in replying and accommodating. Amazing place and location! Highly recommended!

    Oana2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time at Maryam’s house; we were a family of 8 adults and 5 teenagers (and 2 dogs!) and had plenty of space for everyone to relax since they were coming from Brazil and Portugal. The house is even better then the photos and both Maryam and Emma were incredibly helpful and provided us with best local knowledge of places to go, restaurants and pubs. Thank you and we can’t wait to be back in the Summer!

    Andrea2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful. Both Emma and Maryam were so helpful in making sure we had everything we needed for the most special Christmas. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and we had so much space. The children had the most wonderful time and we brought our dog who also loved it. The hot tub was brilliant and the games room. We didn't leave the house at all there was no need. Plenty of showers and bathrooms it's really great for large groups. The hosts went above and beyond to make it so festive with two Christmas trees and lots of festive decorations. Everyone loved the house and would definitely recommend it.

    Annie2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property! More than I expected, you could tell it was well looked after, very clean and had beautiful touches for Christmas. Also met with a big bottle of Prosecco which was nice. Would love to go back again in the summer time but definitely a great option to go for a nice weekend away with friends.

The Mulbury factory shop and Kilver Court retail outlet is just outside Shepton Mallet. The Glastonbury tor is a definite for anyone visiting the area, as is the town itself. There is plenty for kids to do as well. Longleat is just down the road and is always popular. Farleigh Hungerfod has one of the country’s last swimming clubs; wild swimming in the river is perfect for those summer months. The castle is also incredibly exciting. Nunney also has a beautiful castle that the kids are free to run around in. Cheddar Gorge is incredible fun with tours through the caves and rock-climbing for the more adventurous among us. Tennis courts can be found just a short distance away in Writhlington. There are also two charming pubs within walking distance, as is the local village shop.
  • Lovely cottage in a great location, close to some wonderful places. Very helpful and communicative host, with breakfast provided at a convenient time that suited us. We would return again!

  • Claire's place is perfect for exploring the Bath area. She is a lovely person with fantastic advice on what to see. The space was so lovely and comfortable and Claire went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Couldn't recommend more.

  • Had a great stay. Perfect for a couple days away from the busy city. Great breakfast , perfect location and awesome host! Will definitely visit again :)

    Jason2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Claire’s cottage is a lovely place to stay. We were kindly left eggs and juice and bread so that we could cook for ourselves and not have to worry about going to the store, which was really appreciated when we got in so late and were hungry. We were also left fruit and baked goods. The directions to get to the house are a little difficult, as we kept thinking we were at the wrong house because we didn’t know what the main house looked like, and you can’t see the cottage from the front or back. Claire was on a holiday of her own while we were there so I think our experience differed from the reviews I’ve read on here, but all in all the cottage is a charming, comfortable place to relax away from the city.

    Amanda2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Its a brilliant place to stay. The home was beautifully finished and very comfortable and Clair was the best host EVER...we felt like we lived there! ...and the breakfast was delicious, not to mention the cake and the scones and cream...those special touches that just make it!

    Dominique2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Will most definitely be returning to Claire’s lovely cottage. She was very accommodating. Also such a lovely person and always happy to help, she was great with my daughter and her dog Boris was also very friendly which again my daughter loved. The food was amazing every morning. Looking forward to coming back!! Great value for money.

    Dean2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay! Claire was very nice and super helpful with how to go and visit Bath and some extras that we could do. Breakfast every morning was fantastic and the cottage was spacious and clean! We will definitely be coming back again!

  • A warm welcome, wonderful hospitality and local knowledge to rival the best in a snug 'away from it all' hideaway which provides all you might wish for within half an hour of Bristol or Bath. Wonderful.

  • My partner & I enjoyed our first stay at Gert Lushing & exploring the local area so much we returned for a second time to celebrate my partners birthday & again we had a lovely, peaceful & private few days at the hut. Charlotte was fantastic, kindly arranging flowers & a card for my partners birthday to be in the hut to surprise him on our arrival & leaving us extra blankets, heater & hot water bottles to keep us extra warm at night! We were there mid December on the last weekend before they close for the winter & were impressed by how warm the 2 heaters kept the hut, we were nice & toasty throughout our stay. Charlotte was always there on the end of the phone if we needed anything but gave us lots of privacy & space to relax & enjoy our time together. Great space, great host, great time, thank you!

    Julia2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Gert Lushing is the perfect little place to get away from the hustle and bustle for a while. Communication was great and we had everything we needed for a few days stay. The Oakhill Inn served lovely food and the 10% discount was a bonus. Would definitely stay at Gert Lushing again!

  • We loved this cozy cabin! It had everything that we needed. We were worried about being cold during November however were pleasantly surprised by the 2 heaters which made it very warm and toasty. Charlotte was a great host and provided quick replies. All in all a great stay and we will definitely be coming back sometime!

    Mike2019-11-26T00:00:00Z

  • Beautiful cabin with stunning open fields, peaceful, tranquil perfect for getting away from the rat race.

    Sarah2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, great views of the field and farm and a really cosy cabin! There was everything we could possibly need to cook and prepare food, managing to make fajitas, hot sandwiches, jacket potatoes and even bake some cookies! The cabin was amazingly clean and cosy, and the choice of two heaters to use to warm the room up were much needed when it got chilly! It felt especially comfy when laying in bed listening to the rain on the roof (there was lots of it!). Thanks again Charlotte, we hope to see you soon.

  • We had a great stay at Lower Beeches and it provided the perfect base for our short family trip. We had everything we needed for us, two children and grandparents. Rob and Amanda were great hosts and did everything they could to make sure we were comfortable and has everything we needed. There were some lovely touches, like Rob's great freshly made bread. We enjoyed the peaceful location and stomping through the fields to the ponds. Overall, nothing I'd change and will definitely look to return.

My 18th-century cottage, full of beams and character, is close to Glastonbury festival (6 miles) and within easy reach of Bath (15miles), Frome (10) or Wells (6). It’s also close to the Bath & West Showground (5m) and to Vobster Dive Quay (7). There's a great pub at the end of the road with good food and log fires.
Bathroom – shared with host – has a rain shower and roll-top bath. The house has old beams, wooden floors and colourful Moroccan lamps. The bedroom is a light and airy room with a high ceiling. There's a comfortable small double (4ft) sofa bed and a full-size double bed on a mezzanine. Climb the fixed ladder to bed and then gaze up at the stars through the window. The space is roomy enough for a couple + one, or for two guests who want a bed each. There is a desk, WiFi, TV and DVD player.
Eating: The Oakhill Inn is just a 5-minute walk away. Good food with local produce, plus pizzas. Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Wells Cathedral, Bath, Longleat and Stourhead are all near by – not all of them accessible by public transport.
  • We stayed last night and it was our first Airbnb experience. Jackie and her partner were lovely and very welcoming and were happy to chat or leave us alone. The room was spacious, warm, comfortable and clean. The shower was great and the breakfast was high quality. We had dinner in the Oakhill Inn which was very tasty, but I recommend booking a table as it was very busy even on a Monday night. We would stay again and definitely recommend this cottage.

  • Jacqueline is the perfect host and rose cottage is a delightful property. The room was spacious and I found the bed to be extremely comfortable. The bathroom facilities especially the lovely raindrop shower were superb. I would not hesitate to recommend rose cottage to anyone looking to stay in this area.

  • Jacqueline and her husband are two fabulous hosts who made us feel right at home. They were very welcoming and attentive, listening to our needs. Jacqueline even spoke French which facilitated communication. The accommodation is easy to find thanks to the instructions left by Jacqueline. The room is perfect for three (possibly 4). If needed, there is television, a CD and DVD player as well as a library of books and tourist guides. The bathroom is spacious and the house was very clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast offered is very varied and hearty (different choices of cereals, breads, jams, etc.). The couple guided us on the itinerary to follow for the visits and the way of the return as well as the various possible places of interests near the lodging. We thank them warmly for their welcome and we highly recommend this Airbnb.

  • This cottage, and it’s ‘accommodating’ host, will make you feel at home, but not many will have a home as characterful and quaint as Jackie’s ! Treat yourselves to a wonderful stay at this Somerset ‘hidden gem’ ......

  • Me, my husband and our 5 months old baby loved the stay! Jacqueline is a super sweet host and her place is stylish and cosy. We felt very welcomed, Jacqueline was on hand for any enquiries and offered local to do tips for bad weather. She also gave us a mini tub to give our baby a bath!

A spacious and quiet room with a comfortable double bed, private en suite bathroom (with toilet and rainfall shower) within the owner's detached house. Set back from the road, there is a private driveway with secure parking, a garden, patio, decked area with seating and a hot tub. Sky TV, coffee, tea, milk & mini fridge are available in a private lounge and there is access to a games room offering table tennis and pool. A complimentary range of cereals and toast are provided for breakfast.
Our five bedroomed home was completed in March 2017 and is built from natural stone and oak timber frames with wonderful views of the countryside from our garden. We love the quiet location and privacy our home provides which includes a unique games room with wooden beamed ceiling, a patio with table and chairs and a decked area with covered seating and a hot tub (available all year round) which guests are more than welcome to use. Our house is ideally situated near to Wells, Bath, Frome, Bruton, Cheddar, Clark’s Village, Wookey Hole and a little further afield, Bristol, Longleat, Stonehenge and Chew Valley Lake. Due to our more rural location, although there is a bus service from our village to Bath and Wells, your own transport is recommended. Within half a mile in each direction there are two local good food pubs, the Oakhill Inn and The Mendip Inn. The property is a little over 10 minutes drive to Wells, 30 minutes from Bath and 10 minutes from the Bath & West Showground. The nearest supermarkets are 3.5 miles away, a local shop, 1 mile away.
  • What a wonderful stay! We enjoyed a relaxing girly break here for one night and could not recommend the place enough, from the moment we arrived the hospitality of Tim and Caroline was superb. I always worry about the cleanliness of places so I was pleased to find that the place was sparkling clean! Pros: Ambiance and luxury from the moment you arrive with electric gates and beautiful grounds. Private lounge with everything you need: fridge, ice, sky tv, tea and coffee etc Beautiful windows that capture the scenic views of the countryside The shower in the en-suite has a huge waterfall style head on it - very powerful! The hot tub and pergola with lights around it are beautiful. When we asked if we could hook up to the Bluetooth speakers, Tim came out immediately with a Bluetooth speaker for us to connect to. Tasty breakfast - vegetarian option was available. CONS - there were none! We genuinely felt that Tim and Caroline want you to have the best stay, they are not intrusive and you do not have that uncomfortable feeling that you are staying in someone’s home! They are both very approachable and friendly. They answered messages quickly and were there in a flash! We will be staying again without any hesitation!

    Denise2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline and Tim were very accommodating. Their house is lovely and very spacious. The bedroom and en-suite is large and has every amenity you could possibly need! The hot tub was the cherry on top to a perfect stay and we felt so relaxed. Although the location is a 35 minute drive away from Bath itself, it feels nice to get away from the traffic and noise and is totally worth the drive and Is only a short distance from Wells. I would definitely recommend and love to stay again

    Maya2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a lovely relaxing stay at this immaculate house. Although Caroline and Tim are there they do give you your privacy. Would definitely recommend The Redan for good food which is a 5 min drive away or The Oakhill which is only a ten minute walk. Caroline is a great host and thinks of the little added extras to make your stay extra special.

    Nic2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A very hospitable stay in a fabulous house. Caroline, Tim has Mango the cat were lovely and a pleasure to stay with. The house is immaculate and the hot tub was perfect after a day exploring Bath. I would recommend to any couples who wish to get away from it all.

    Thomas2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We decided to go to Caroline and Tims very last minute and drove three hours to get there and it was 100% worth it! We had a soak in the hot tub which was so relaxing and peaceful, the room was clean with a very powerful shower! The best was super comfy and the house is on gorgeous grounds. The highlight and the best thing for me was Mango (the cat) so friendly and affectionate and such a little cutie! We will defo be back, but better planned next time! Recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful break in the country x

  • We had a lovely stay at upper beeches. I was a little sceptical about going away with our 1 year old as there’s so many little things to remember but I needn't have bothered because Amanda and Rob had thought about everything. Right from stairs gates to an additional comfort mattress for the travel cot which nowhere has ever offered before. The small touches were very thoughtful, especially Robs delicious homemade bread! The place had everything you would need and was perfect because of all the room options we had for sleeping. The only downside was we had misread the part about the garden not being for us. Rob kindly asked us to move and did offer to show us the alternative garden space further down the road but we opted not to use it as the group would have to be split up due to our baby sleeping in the house. It was completely our misunderstanding and didn’t really affect the holiday because there was so much space inside we didn’t once feel like we were on top of each other (5 adults, a 1 year old and a puppy). This was our little boys first family holiday and it will definitely be one to remember!

    Shelley2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was lovely, very clean and comfortable. The baby items were such an added bonus as we didn't need to pack any bulky baby items!

    Ruth2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A sparkly clean, very well equipped adaptable space suitable for a family or a small group, tucked up a quiet country lane with lovely meadow walks nearby. Ideally situated for Bath, Glastonbury and Shepton Mallett, with good detailed directions to find this hidden gem. I would definitely recommend it, and would like to stay there again another time.

  • Sue was an excellent host even though we never met. The extra little touches in the property where very much unexpected but appreciated. Very clean, warm and cosy with excellent communication. Would definitely recommend and return to stay again if I was returning to the area.

    Wayne2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The standard of accommodation and amenities goes way above and beyond the 'norm'. We were amazed at just how many extra things were available in the kitchen: not just salt, pepper and oils, but a whole range of herbs, plus milk in the fridge, tea and coffee (and filter coffee if wanted) ~ loads of things that we didn't use as we took most of our own stuff! We never got the chance to actually meet Sue unfortunately, but communications were friendly and she was quick to reply to questions. The bed was like being at home for us: a memory foam mattress that was incredibly comfortable. A nice touch were the motion sensor lights that came on as you entered the kitchen and the bathroom. We couldn't fault the cleanliness of the whole apartment, and it was lovely and quiet, too. We were down in the area to attend a weekend event at the Bath & West Showground, and it was an easy 30-minute drive from there.

  • Myself and Jay had a lovely stay at Sue’s place! Very thoughtful touches such as milk and butter as well as toiletries available which added to the thoughtfulness! Great location as only 30 minutes from the places we were visiting such as bath and cheddar gorge, would definitely recommend

Charming log cabin studio set in 8 acres. Suitable for 2 people with a private bathroom and kitchen. Well behaved dogs welcome. Good local pub and shop in walking distance.
Located near the historical cathedral city, Wells, this comfortable self contained studio cabin is perfect for long or short stays.
  • The cabin is super cosy & a lovely place to come back to after a cold windy walk in the mendips! As a couple of other reviews mentioned there is a house very close by but we barely noticed it once you are in the cabin - it has an undisturbed beautiful view & you feel like you are the only ones there! Cathy was lovely when we met in passing but I was also very grateful that she just let us get on with it. If you're looking for a cosy hideaway close to plenty of beautiful historical villages etc then this is perfect!! Would ahppily go back!

    Kimberly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at the cabin, surrounded by beautiful countryside and a short walk away from local pub and quaint little shop. Fell in love with the sleepy village of Croscombe with its friendly villagers. Perfect location to explore Somerset and all it has to offer Thank you Cathy for a wonderful and pleasant stay.

    Darnelle2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and quiet log cabin with all amenities in place. Main windows look towards fields. Good parking away from the main road. Good access by road to Wells and Shepton Mallet. Perfect for a short break to enjoy the area. We would book again on a future visit.

    David2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Location was ideal for both Wells and Glastonbury. The cabin itself has everything you could possibly need and was warm and cosy despite the pouring rain and windy weather outside! Cathy was a fantastic host, definitely pop over and say hello to her and her husband.

    Rachel2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is set up a hill it has everything you would need for a short or even long stay. Lots of beautiful walks nearby and if you don’t want to drive again till you leave there is a pub a 5 minute walk away that is also a restaurant and a shop that sells basic things including newspapers. Wells, Bath, Cheddar and Glastonbury all very near near if you want to do some sightseeing. Would highly recommend.

    Lisa2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A very VERY comfortable place to stay with every possible convenience inside the lovely cabin. Would definitely recommend and I’d love to stay again sometime soon. Hard to fault. A couple of things to be aware of though - there’s a large house just metres away not shown in the photos. Although I was disappointed on arrival I soon got used to it and didn’t meet the residents. The village shop is in a room at the local pub and good for essentials only, so stock up before if required. Great accommodation, you’ll love it!

    Gary2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice cozy cabin with everything you need. Lovely decorated A quiet relaxing place surrounded by green meadows and hills. The cows in the nearby pasture watch over breakfast. We spent very nice days there.

  • Our second visit to Cathy's place and I'm sure we will be back for a third. Well equipped clean and comfortable accommodation in a peaceful relaxed setting with the beautiful city of Wells just down the road......perfect.

A good location for exploring Somerset, we went to Cheddar Gorge, Wells, and Bath. We hadn't realised how close to the road it was, but it wasn't too noisy. Lovely view of a sheep field from the living room area

  • We spend 2 nights in this beautiful cottage and it was just perfect. Other than it being a bit wet outside we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We arrived late Friday night and we were straight in and settled in no time. We were welcomed by a very clean warm, homely space which was very well stocked with the essentials including, butter, milk, breakfast cereals, orange juice, bathroom items etc. Communication wit Bridget was very good and Bridget was always happy to answer any questions that I had before arrival. Our stay was just lovely thank you so much. 100% recommended

Mobile signal is not great, but you can blame the Jack and Jill Hill, the actual one from the nursery rhyme for that! There is an exquisitely comfortable double bed, a fridge, shower, sink, toilet, table, deck and kettle in the summer house. There is NO kitchen. All new bedding, mattress and towels.
There is lots to see and do. The Jack and Jill Hill with its well at the top, the miles and miles of walks and cycle tracks through beautiful Somerset right from the house, the pub and Babington House or you could stay in the hammock in the garden. If you want to get in your car, Bath is ten miles away, Frome seven, Stonehenge an hour and Glastonbury and Longleat twenty to thirty minutes.
  • Jacki is a sublime host and quite the talented lady to boot...the tiny house is quainter than quaint and extremely robust, it blew a gale the first night and I have never felt more cosy and secure. The local countryside is wondrous. I like to run and there is a perfect cycle path behind Jacki’s house for cyclists and runners...fab!

  • Snuggly cabin overlooking a garden framed with a stream, and woken with warm croissants & other goodies. Perfect!

    Harry2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish cozy cabin style accommodation. Great touches of real ground coffee, and milk in the fridge. Tasty croissants and bread (for toasting) for breakfast in a basket with butter and jam left outside on the deck every morning. Great location for walkers and cyclists, being close to National Cycle Network route 24 - known as the Colliers Way, it goes from Dundas Aqueduct to Frome. Jacki is a friendly, thoughtful host, and we'd love stay there again.

    Catherine2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute summerhouse, exactly as it looks in the pictures, we went in the winter and it was very warm with the heater on!

    Luke2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful, serene and peaceful space. I came for a bit of a mini-retreat and it really was the perfect place for it. I will definitely be back!

    Katy2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jacki made our staying in her lovely tiny cottage just amazing! I can recommend this place any time a year. It was hot and comfortable despite the weather. Everything was clean and stylish. And the breakfast was delicious!

    Ekaterina2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for peace and quiet, to relax alone or with another, this is the place to do so! The tiny house is situated in a great location, with beautiful surroundings and is a great base for either walking or driving to the neighbouring villages and towns. The space itself is stylish, cosy and has all the amenities you'd need for a short break, and you will not find a better host than Jacki. She's genuine and personable with great local knowledge, and cannot do enough for her guests! Go visit for yourself and reconnect with nature!

    Alec2020-01-01T00:00:00Z

This converted stables is cosy and unique, yet has the comfort and privacy needed to get away from it all. Set within the boundaries of our gardens and orchard, The Drey, is so named because of the squirrel neighbours; who visit your private decking and patio. This tiny house has everything you will need from log burner, makings of first full english breakfast, chefs basics and a homemade cake as a gift! We also offer an option of a 3l slow cooker stew on the day of arrival for £15
The Drey is comfortable and cosy. There is a full size cooker, slow cooker, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and a large variety of cooking and serving utensils. The loo is accessed directly next to the front door under cover. The surroundings are pretty and rural, but at times there is some road noise at busy periods. Within 1 mile of local amenities, yet walk out of your door, into our lane and have access to the open countryside with glorious views over the Mendip hills and the Somerset levels. Within a 7 minute walk you will find a local pub and gastro hotel. Drive to the beautiful city of Wells 10 mins, Bath 35 mins, Glastonbury Tor 15 mins, Vibrant Frome 25 mins, Weston-Super-Mare 60 mins, Cheddar 30 mins, Longleat 40 mins or Wookey Hole 30 mins,to name just a few places of interest on your doorstep.
Only 1 mile to Tesco, Aldi, Bakers and plenty of decent coffee shops and restaurants. Glastonbury Tor and Glastonbury festival ground only 3 miles. Bath and West show ground just 2 miles.
  • Thank you Lisa for a really wonderful few days away with my daughter. The Drey is cosy, warm, with a great wood burning stove, and the cake you made for us was delicious. We appreciated your warm welcome and the clean pretty little cottage. It is such a great hideaway, and it felt like we were on retreat. We also appreciate the breakfast goods left in the fridge. We stayed in, playwd board games, watched movies and enjoyed cooking in the well equiped kitchen. Thank you again, we will definitely be back. Xx

  • Linzi, Ryan and Mylo were brilliant hosts. The cottage is delightful and full of helpful small touches. Having everything we needed for our one-year old was brilliant and meant a lot less for us to pack. The cottage is perfect for a small family and the location is great with easy access to The Mendip Hills, Wells, Frome and Glastonbury. We'd absolutely recommend.

  • A lovely cottage with great facilities and very clean. Linzi was a fantastic host and very helpful before our visit and during the stay. The highlight was the home-cooked full English breakfast delivered to the cottage.

    Richard2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great little set up and a perfect base to explore local attractions. We stayed with our 3 month baby and Linzi very kindly left a baby monitor, travel cot and changing facility out. We walked to the local pub for dinner, visited Clark’s village and had a fantastic Chinese takeaway from Hong Kong Garden Shepton Mallet. A great little break away.

    Lucy2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Top quality Airbnb and Linzi is a great host. 5 stars!!!!

  • It's nice. Location great for seeing different bits of country side, feels really clean /safe/warm. It's kind of basic - there's no Wi-Fi as far as I could make out, and kitchen has bare minimum, but that's reflected in the price. I'd stay again.

  • Very well situated, easy to reach. Ideal when you wish to visit Wells, Cheddar gorges and Glastonbury. Studio is very comfortable and has everything you could need. Perfect for two people. It is very quiet. Because there is no much light around the area, it is great for stargazing too!

  • My husband and I have stayed with Cathy before, but in her detached cottage also on the same property. This time we stayed in her guest room up stairs which has an en-suite bathroom. The bed is huge and very comfortable! The bathroom is also quite large and well equipped. Cathy and her husband are always extremely welcoming and friendly. This was our second time staying with them and we would stay with them another time if we ended up back in Somerset. This place is close to Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar and even Bath.

    Vivian2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay here, Cathy was very welcoming and gave us some good local knowledges of places to eat and things to see.
