  • Was exactly what I was looking for. Nights can be cold, but Karylyn has more than enough blankets to stay cozy - very cute space / definitely a little nostalgia!

    Samuel2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Karylyn is a fantastic host who will go out of her way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Communications were answered quickly and accurately. The room is separate from the main house so it's very private. The bathroom is not connected to the room and is about 50 feet away, but was very clean and inviting. I will be back! Thank you Karylyn!

  • Leon and his wife makes us feel like family when we go up to his camp. It’s a beautiful place with plenty of outdoor space. It’s always a good time at Leon’s! Thank you guys for sharing you little piece of heaven with us!

    Matthew2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place, clean and tidy. You can rent kayaks from the owner who is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

    Debanjan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was perfect for my needs! It has a gorgeous view of Schoodic Lake! Space was clean and couldn't ask for nicer hosts.

    Tom2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We feel so fortunate to have found this little gem available at a late date. The lake is beautiful and crystal clear. A joy to swim and play in! Leon was a warm and knowledgeable host. The cabin is small but clean and comfortable, with everything you need to have a great time. Access to the water is the main thing at this property. Would be perfect for small families with kids who love to swim, or folks who want to kayak on the lake.

    Donna2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here. Leon & Lanie were both super friendly & helpful. They certainly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The cabin was super cute and accommodated my family perfectly. The location was ideal as it was in close proximity to the landing for launching our boat which was very convenient. Leon even added some extra bumpers to his dock to ensure we could safely keep our boat there and was always around to help us if needed. We can’t wait for next summer to visit again. Many thanks to our hosts for a wonderful week on the lake!

    Christy2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome time at Leon’s place. Thank you for having us and I hope we can come up to camp again soon!

    Matthew2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful house right on the water. The house is the perfect size for a little vacation getaway on the water. Great fishing spots and Leon is an amazing host.

    Christopher2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had amazing time! Where to begin? Leon & Lanie were very friendly, welcoming, and have a great sense of humor. Leon went out of his way to tell us about local history and mythical stories ;) and helped us build a fire. Their place is small but it has everything you need and the area is beautiful. We definitely enjoyed our stay and wish we stayed longer. Thank you for everything!

Kiss all your cares goodbye, rest and relax, or seek out the many adventures here in the great north woods. Even during this crisis, I invite you to come to Bear's den where I am doing everything in my power to clean and disinfect my camp thoroughly between each guest. We are situated on a peninsula over looking Deep Cove and Ambajejus lake. Just 11 miles from Baxter St Park, and 40 min to KATAHDIN Woods & Waters. We have a Gorgeous New Down Filled Sectional Sleeper w/Chase Lounge and 2 bunk bed
Bears Den is a cozy cabin nestled in the woods on a Peninsula over looking Deep Cove, and you have a very private beach on the other side of the road over looking Ambajejus and Mt. Katahdin. Sunrise on the Cove Side, and Sunset on the Beach!! The views from the picture windows are stunning. The interior is all knotty pine, in classic Maine style. The kitchen is well appointed, and there is a full bathroom, but it is small, and it is not handicap accessible. I have an incinerator toilet, but Please don't use it without getting the instructions directly from me. It's a very private location, quiet and beautiful. 25 minuets from Millinocket, and just 10 minuets from the Trading Post. We have our own Boat Ramp on the Causeway leading into camp. You also have access to 2 Kayaks, a paddle or peddle boat, one Stand Up Paddleboard, an Old Town Canoe, and a small boat with a trolling motor. 350lb max weight limit for the boat. There are steps going into the camp, going down to the bathroom, and a dozen steps going down to the dock. Bears Den is in God's country. It's in a beautiful rugged part of Maine, but we are in the north woods 3 miles down a dirt road and up a rocky hill. The camp and surrounding areas are not accessible to individuals in a wheelchair or those who have trouble negotiating tight spaces. Please be sure to read thru the listing completely, and have everyone in your party do so as well. It is important that everyone is clear about the directions, rules, amenities, and the little nuances listed here.
We are in God's country. It's an amazing beautiful place. Bears Den is located on a peninsula, and there are several other camps around, but can't really be seen. We are literally in the woods. There are ton's of activities nearby, and some wonderful stores and restaurants. The Trading post has quick convienece store items, plus GREAT pizza, lobster rolls, and AMAZING homemade desserts as well as souvenirs and clothing. They have a wonderful kids section! Next door is the Big Moose with a nice pub and local brews on tap. Close by is River Drivers restaurant and the new England outdoor center which is my personal favorite. In town the Appalachian trail Cafe has a great breakfast and they serve homemade donuts. A Few Museums and Art Galleries are a must on a Rainy Day If you choose adventure, there is White Water Rafting, Sky Diving, Pontoon Plane Rides, and so much more. A side note, if you are planning on climbing Katahdin be sure to make a reservation, and don't underestimate the mightiness of this mountain. Please do your research, and be prepared for anything. I also strongly Suggest a Minimum 3 Night Stay for anyone Climbing. Note also there are no dogs allowed in Baxter State Park. If you want to use a guide service please go to the link below. Paul is wonderful guide super knowledgeable and I guarantee you will enjoy it. https://www.moosewoodsguideservice.com https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10214987085504796&id=1658990200 https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1236822833147304&id=866272530202338 Check out the link above for a local View of the Katahdin area
  • This cabin was the perfect lakeside location for our leaf peeping vacation! It was the most unique place we have stayed at and we loved burning our poop (in the incinerator toilet).

    Sara2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful, secluded space to stay. It was the perfect place to chill outlastway through a fall road trip and Nancy made us feel right at home in her home. Kayaking on the lake was a real bonus too!

    Alex2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was clean and was exactly as described. It was peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed the use of the kayaks and boat. We would absolutely stay again.

    Wendy2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • My second October weekend at Nancy’s. Absolutely gorgeous location. Comfortable, so clean. Incredible views of the lake on one side and Katahdin across the road (get up for sunrise!). It’s so relaxing and you are “away from it all”. Nancy is a great host! Very responsive, excellent communication and truly cares about your experience. She takes great pride in her camp and the area and wants you to love it as much as she does.

    Michelle2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our weekend stay at Nancy’s quaint cabin was unbelievable! We were lucky to get such beautiful weather which helped us to enjoy everything that this home and location had to offer. Our first night there Nancy told us we had to look at the stars... and let me just say WOW!!! My boyfriend and I spent almost 2 hours out on the little dock staring up at the sky. Neither of us had ever seen anything like that before. The next day we took the boat out on the lake and explored around a bit. This place has breathtaking views and is so quiet. Exactly what you need to get away and detach from reality for a couple days. Nancy was an amazing host and was MORE than helpful with anything and everything you may need. She was always quick to respond to calls or texts. She offered wonderful suggestions on places to go and gave very detailed directions. Nancy is everything you could look for in a host. I hope to come back one day! Thank you Nancy!!

    Marissa2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bears Den was exactly what was advertised.

    Darren2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy is the best host we could have ever asked for! Her place was breathtaking, and beyond anything words can describe. It was myself and three boys who made the greatest memories and are already planning another trip to this very spot. The amenities were everything we needed & we made use of all of it. From the lake, to the rope swing across the lake, fire pit & grill. Nancy thank you for letting us stay at your place again. It was the perfect getaway from the world!

    Sydney2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy is a great hostess. She responds right away to texts and initiated a lot of communication with reminders in the days leading up to the trip. Definitely make sure to get drinks and food at The River Driver’s Restaurant. The staff is very polite and attentive. The strip steak is delicious and they have a nice cocktail menu. Nancy’s house is the perfect place for a cozy and private getaway. I highly recommend Nancy’s house.

  • Great cottage, clean and exactly as described. Nice access to local trails although a bit of a ride to access the ITS trails. Beautiful area.

  • What a great space! Super convenient for our needs. Comfortable space for 5 with 2 full bathrooms. No light pollution and it was cool to hear the deer and see a whole flock of Blue Jays feasting off the front deck in the morning. Libby was speedy in all responses and her suggestion to download the directions before you get to Big Pine Road is spot on (there’s no cell service past The Junction). Will definitely stay here again next year.

    Robbin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Libby and Craig are wonderful hosts. The camp was exactly what we were looking for and more. The view was breath taking. Perfect size for our family. Snowmobile trial at the bottom of the road. All questions answered and more, Craig knows his way around for sure. We can only imagine the beauty in the rest of the seasons. Maine is truly the way life should be!!! Thank you both. We will be back!!!

    Danielle2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay! Very clean and orderly in a nice, just out of town location. The living room couch is sooooo comfortable! The host is very accommodating and the snowmobile trails were right down the road. The 2 full bathrooms were very convenient for getting ready in the morning. Would definitely stay there again!

    Matt2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic cabin for our snowmobile trip. Easy access to trails, ample parking, two bathrooms was key. Really nice cabin with a great view. The hosts were exceptional, answered my many questions and when we had trouble figuring out the stove they were there in minutes. We won't hesitate to stay here again.

    Matt2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay! I highly recommend this place.

    Brenda2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was beautiful it looked exactly how it looked in the pictures. We did get a little lost when looking for the cabin but Libby and her family were nice enough to direct us there. Libby and her family were extremely accommodating during our time there. She answered all of our questions extremely really fast. There was no connection out there because it was so far into the woods and the wifi barely worked but other than that it was a great trip and we really enjoyed it!

    Chelsea2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a secluded log cabin in the mountains of Maine with beautiful views, then this is the place for you. The views of the mountains were breathtaking, especially at sunset. The cabin itself was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. Libby and Craig were great hosts and went out of their way to install an AC unit for some hot days. Also, the deer farm on the property was awesome to check out. We saw some beautiful bucks. Just a note, make sure you bring heavy duty bug spray, which was well communicated to us by Libby.

  • Great clean cabin, bed very comfortable, WiFi worked good for being remote area, washer and dryer was a huge plus when staying for a week. The only issue is if you are going for snowmobiling the access trail To the main trail is not the greatest and no information about clubs or trails , or shops where left in the cabin . Other than that a GREAT PLACE .

    Theresa2020-02-01T00:00:00Z

  • Wonderful location. Very quiet residential area. Close to many great hiking trails. Will definatly return.

    Eileen2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this stay! Everything was as pictured and very clean. The kitchen was very well stocked. We loved that there were walking trails to follow right from the cabin. We were able to walk right around near the pond and even to a small pebble beach with a bench and swimming dock. No one else was there either time we went and our dogs loved the swimming. We only stayed 2 nights but wished we stayed longer! It was about a 10 min drive to the downtown area.

The Bunkhouse is located on our campground, which has a large pavilion with a beer & wine bar, hot and cold shower, toilets, sandy volleyball court, pool tables, fireplace, use of canoes on the pond is included with your stay. Enjoy a remote location with a few of the creature comforts from home. The bunkhouses are not heated and they are in a remote location. There are 4 cots or beds in each bunkhouse. Mattress, pillow and sheet are provided and blankets can be provided for an additional charge. Most of our guests choose to bring their own sleeping bags, but we can provide blankets if you need.
Located in a remote location easily accessed from Baxter Park Road. Ideal location for camping in Baxter or whitewater rafting on the Penobscot River. This is an 87 acre campground located next to some significant wilderness areas.
  • We were upgraded to the Fox Den cabin and just loved it. Warm stove and shower, comfortable bed, and nice balcony on the back. Very clean and stylish space.

    Aeryle2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • So we ended up getting upgraded to an actual cabin, so I cannot comment on the one on this listing. But Matt and team were very fast communicators and directions were very clear. The outdoor center (a little down the road from this listing) was beautiful and had a very nice restaurant attached. The location was also fantastic for hiking Katahdin (and this listing is actually 6 miles closer to the park than where we ended up staying). The drive to the gate in the morning was easy enough (and we saw a moose!).

    Hannah2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place, me and my friend absolutely loved it.

  • Great place to stay before or after your trip at Baxtor State Park. Only 30 minutes from most trailheads.

  • Charming campground with nice amenities. Great restaurant at the NEOC. Good place to camp before climbing Mount Katahdin.

    Sharlene2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place close to the Baxter state park. The staff was really welcoming and friendly. We arrived after open hours and the indications to get to our bunkhouse was clear. Will definitely go back

    Véronique2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins are located close to a beautiful lake. Guests can borrow canoes or kayaks for free and enjoy a stunning view on Mount Katahdin. The site with hot showers is also a great place to spend a night after hiking in the state park. Our cabin had 4 beds with blankets and pillows, a fire pit and enough space to park the car. The staff was helpful and all check in/out procedures were without a problem.

  • You will not be disappointed. This cottage is a piece of paradise .The advertisement for the cottage is 100% is accurate. Very spacious, clean, view is amazing. The location is excellent. Very private yet close to town for any needed items/groceries. We will definitely return again.

  • Very clean and spacious space. Everything was as we expected. Super frontage on the lake. Plenty of room to move both indoors and outdoors. Again, every detail to make a stay away from home was thought of. Very close to Baxter and north woods hiking trials. Great time and place!

  • The cottage was a perfect home base for our weekend adventuring around the Baxter SP area during peak fall foliage season. We loved the inside of the cottage and how much room there was for every person to have their own space. The view of the lake were incredible and sitting outside by the fire pit at night couldn't have been any more relaxing. Would definitely stay again if ever heading back up to the area! The communication with the hosts was great as well. Recommend eating at River Drivers Restaurant for any and all meals out if you stay here as well. The food was great and loved the overall vibe!

  • Photos on here, enticing as they are, don't fully capture how idyllic this place is. Wonderful for paddling, grilling, firepitting, sitting very still, and making excursions into Baxter. Plus, Jon and Stephanie were super responsive to our last-minute request for an extra night's stay. Even after that, we we could have lingered much longer.

    Will2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie & Jon’s cottage was absolutely perfect for our weekend! We hiked in Baxter State Park on North & South Brothers Mountain. The home is a 30 min drive to the park. We enjoyed the paddle boat, fire pit, and ample space to host our crew of 6. They are very welcoming to pets and our chocolate lab spent the day “fishing” in the lake via the walk in beach. The cottage was super clean and had every piece of cookware/cutlery we needed for our stay. This home in the woods is perfect for anyone looking to get away and escape to the woods! Highly recommend.

  • The best place to stay if you’re visiting Millinocket and the surrounding area. We were super close to town and Baxter State Park. Property was clean, right on the lake and very quiet. We will definitely stay here again.

  • Perfect take of spot for Baxter on Katahdin Woods and Waters.

    Josie2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot though location is a bit remote. Perfect for Baxter State Park visitors and families. Comfortable beds, clean and more than enough kitchen essentials to be able to cook which is good as there is Limited restaurant availability in the area.

  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here. It's a very quiet location with a great yard, fire pit, and just steps to the lake. The house was clean (with a very comfy bed!) and the kitchen had lots of pots, pans, etc. which was great since we cooked in each night. Andy was very hospitable and quick to respond to messages. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Absolutely wonderful way to spend the last days before our wedding! Could not have been more relaxing, had a great kayak and sunbathing session on the deck! Convenient spot for traveling to Katahdin and NEOC and very private spot with plenty of land. Especially gracious host allowing us to play with water toys and help ourselves to groceries. Thanks!

Unwind in style at this cozy lakefront cabin on Moosehead Lake, offering tranquil views of the lake and mountains beyond, your own private dock, and a pebble beach great for swimming. Also included is a mooring that can fit up to a 26ft boat. Conveniences are available in Greenville a few miles south. Cook up a tasty breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen to start your day and lie out on the grassy lawn or admire the view from the balcony at sunset. When you need a break from the great outdoors, relax indoors with a DVD on the TV or surf the free WiFi. Don't worry about laundry - a private washer/dryer lets you take care of it. The perfect after-dinner ritual is spending clear nights under the stars telling stories around the outdoor firepit. Step back into lakeside vacation mode with this cabin rental - book today! *Please note, due to the remote location, cell reception and WiFi is known to be spotty. A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.
  • We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Lily Bay A frame house. The house was right on the water and it offered a very peaceful trip. The house itself is well kept and extremely clean. I thought it was neat how the host provided travel sized shampoo and conditioner. While there was no air conditioning in the house, the breeze from the water was enough to keep the house cool. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

    Danielle2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fantastic on a private area of the lake. The water is about 50 feet from the back door with no obstructions. The unit is well taken care of and clean. I would stay again.

2 bedroom rustic cabin, with modern updates, sleeps 6, on Ambajejus Lake, with gorgeous views of Mt. Katahdin off your front deck. If you love the outdoors, you will be in your own little piece of heaven here. Fishing, boating, hiking, biking, hunting, and tons of wildlife. Feel like you are in your own little cabin, as this cabin is our personal home away from home. We share all our outdoor fun toys with you, for no extra fee: 2 canoes, 1 tandem kayak, a paddleboard, and life jackets.
The property has two waterfronts. The front of the cabin is facing Mount Katahdin. There are blueberry bushes, and a small beach area. There is also a built-in fire pit that looks over the lake and mountains, surrounded by hammocks, and camp chairs. The back of our property is on a cove, where we have a path that leads to a staircase down to our dock. This cove has calm water, the perfect place to tie up your motorized boat, to fish off of, or jumping in for a swim.
Our cabin is on a small Peninsula with seven other cabins. These are all second homes to people either from the town of Millinocket, or Southern Maine. If you know people from DownEast Maine, then you know how friendly and helpful they are. We found it nice to have neighbors, as they will always look out for you, and help in a pinch. Summer tends to see the other cabins inhabited off and on throughout the summer. The remainder of the year, you may find yourself the only inhabitants on the peninsula!
  • Beautiful setting and views.

  • Cabin was clean and organized... easy to find pans, towels, games, whatever you’re looking for. The canoes, kayaks and paddle boards afforded hours of entertainment for us and our 7-year-old, and they were in spotless condition. Relaxing spot and would 100 percent come back.

  • The Casey cabin is clean and comfortable with an incredible view. The owners provide a host of options for entertainment and relaxation, plus information on local hikes and what Baxter State Park has to offer. It’s obvious that many great memories were made there, including our own.

  • We used this cabin as a base of operation from Monson, Maine, to Mount Katahdin supporting Appalachian Trail Thru Hikers. Our stay was beyond words with views that words do not adequately describe. The cabin was extremely comfortable, clean and very well equipped. Our family fished, canoed, and paddle boarded and enjoyed the fire pit. The star gazing will take your breathe away. The sunsets and sunrises were stunning. The location was very private and convenient to Millinocket. We enjoyed putting cell phones and computers away and taking in the nature around us! We enjoyed eagle sightings, ducks, fox and moose sightings. Baxter State Park is minutes away. We do plan to go back! This is truly a real piece of paradise.

Rent your own private island with stunning views of Katahdin on the fifth largest lake in Maine. Total privacy with no other buildings within a half mile of the 1/2 acre island. The island has a rustic 475 sq ft 1 1/2 story camp. It is totally off the grid, but has excellent cell phone/wireless connectivity. The lake is large and clean and mostly undeveloped. Miles and miles of shoreline with remote beaches and islands to explore.
The cabin has a kitchen/ living area. The kitchen is equipped with basic cooking and eating utensils. There is a futon, a table and four chairs, an apartment size propane range, a sink with a hand pump for water from the lake. There is also a bedroom with a queen size bed on the main floor and a sleeping loft upstairs with two twin beds. There are four rechargeable LED lanterns to provide lighting inside. The lanterns and cell phones and other devices using USB charging ports can be recharged by a small solar system. The cabin has a deck outside the entrance. There is also a propane grill, a picnic table and a firepit. The outhouse is new and clean. The island has a 16 foot dock and a mooring for your boat.
  • The location is everything. You don’t miss heat or power when you have that view, not to mention the cabin is lovely. We had a blast both out on the boat and on the island. Excellent fishing, and a kitchen stocked with every utensil you need to make a fine meal out of your catch! Would absolutely stay here again.

    Susanna2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The island and cabin are outstanding! Very well-maintained, and great hospitality from the host, Bob. The island is a lovely get-away that comes with a kayak and a canoe. It's away from everything, and the cabin is very nicely built with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. I went to the cabin with my dog and three friends, and the stay was great. The rechargeable lanterns provided were helpful and provided plenty of light for cooking or hanging out in the evening. Be aware that the lake can get a little choppy (1-2 foot chop) when there's a breeze. Because of the chop, I had to go slow with my flat-bottomed boat, but it was definitely manageable. I'd love to go back again!

    Brandon2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Bob's place was everything we had hoped for, quiet, peaceful, beautiful views, good fishing, and all around great place to stay and reconnect with your family. The cottage was incredibly clean and well kept, Bob was very pleasant to deal. He met us at the boat ramp and escorted us to the cabin. I look forward to going back.

    Adam2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you need a place to unwind and recharge, this is it! Get away from the hustles of everyday life and gain some peace at Bob's island. My husband and I brought our puppy and it was perfect. She could roam around safely and we soaked up the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The lake is not very populated so there was hardly any boat traffic, which made it even nicer for us. The cabin had everything we needed to get along fine for 5 days. We brought plenty of ice and food and drinking water, so make sure you don't forget to bring those. The boat launch is a few miles away and was a long yet beautiful trek. The 2000 piece Star Wars puzzle kept us busy during a stormy day. All in all, it was just what we needed. Swimming, beaches to explore, hardly any bugs, fishing, camp fires, and more. We highly recommend this spot.

  • “Epic” is the word that I found myself pulling out when answering to family and friends inquiry “How did your family vacation in Maine go?” For our family of 4 it was surely a trip to remember with fond memories. Our 14 and 12 year old daughters enjoyed the adventure of having our own island. We spent 4 full days and 5 nights. Our first day we headed up north along the western shore exploring coves and beaches bringing back some driftwood to add to Bob’s already available firewood pile he had in store for our use. Second day we headed southeast from the Island across Twin Lake to an uninhabited island coming across old logging camp fires and cookware to boot. After bush whacking across the island we paddled back in northerly direction towards Perrow Point. It provided the perfect lunch spot providing a relaxing break in the sun to enjoy our lunch and an afternoon siesta. Bordered by cat tails behind us and Maine’s northern forest and in front of us the lullaby of North Twin Lake lapping upon the shore this was the definition of “Out Of Office”. After a nice family siesta we headed back across Twin Lake to the island where a nice meal of New York strips, salad and baked potatoes on Bob’s grill awaited us followed by a campfire and a star filled sky. Our third day was socked in and rainy giving us opportunity to play inside games including Bob’s simple but effective 7 games in 1 taking advantage of Chinese checkers, backgammon , followed by cards. Cabin fever set in later in the afternoon so of course a cannonball contest ensued off the dock with Dad bringing home the title for the most displaced water! Later on we ventured across the sandbar to the nearest shore and found a short trail through the North Maine woods to a lumber road. Good stuff for exploring. Last day we had high winds and white caps for most of the day which was fine for us playing our own make shift Frisbee golf course on our little private island. Winds finally died down allowing us a last sunset paddle before returning Bob’s boats to their resting place for the next fellow traveler. We found Bob’s description of the island and the house and its features to be spot on! If only we had read his description more closely we have cut our questions to him by 3/4 – sorry Bob but thanks for being so responsive! Helpful hints for those traveling in our wake, we brought our own cooler to transport the 4 blocks ice, two in ours, two in Bob’s large cooler he already has for you in the house. Solar system providing power for all 4 of our devices as well as his lights for the house worked perfectly. Kitchen had bowls, plates and silverware along with pots and pans. Propane stove worked great. Water pump bringing in lake water to the...

  • Bob is an excellent host, who balances the essential line between kind, communicative, and welcoming without overbearing. He even generously ferried some of our belongings to the island upon our arrival to the dock with our canoe! The island itself is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and serene. The shores offer good swimming spots, and there are hiking trails within boating distance. The cabin also offers a canoe and kayak for further excursions, a firepit, propane grill and stove, and other additional amenities like board games and maps of the surrounding areas. We loved our few days on the island, and we hope to be back some day!

    Matthew2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a rustic, isolated getaway with spectacular views of Mount Katahdin, great swimming, and canoeing, then this is the place for you! Because there is no potable water, we recommend bringing a portable hand-pump water purifier instead of large water jugs or lots of bottles. We also renewing your fishing license and bringing your gear. There are a couple nice spots you can canoe over to along the shoreline.

    Keegan2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very secluded island camp with great views. Fishing, swimming, boat rides, who could ask for more. Camp was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thanks Bob!

  • Dave is the most active and attentive host I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know in my stays with AirBnb. This is our second time staying at his cabin for an annual winter sporting event in the area—he is generous, thoughtful, and engaged to the point that our stays with him have become legendary among our friends, everyone wanting to join in for the next year. It is clear that his open-hearted ness is genuine and that he looks as forward to visitors as we have looked forward to our visits. Thank you Dave!

    Megan2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Don't hesitate to book with Dave. A perfect location not far from town and other local attractions. Dave is a perfect host and a local expert. We could not have been more impressed.

    Katie2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Where do I even begin? The basics first: Everything was clean, and lovingly decorated. The place is beautiful with a view over the lake surrounded by trees - just a slice of heaven. We had a private cozy area upstairs in the main cabin all to ourselves and Dave made us breakfast, even when we got up at 5 am. (There also is a big beautiful group sleeping area in his garage that looked super comfy) We were free to help ourself to everything out of the fridge, and there is a big kitchen with everything you could need. Now, he could charge double just for the views, but he doesn't because he is just the most lovely person. He took us out on his boat, let us ride the jetskis and was beyond helpful with everything we needed. We very much enjoyed having his company as we all had dinner together (that Dave made for us) and sat by the fire and we could not have wished for a better time. All in all: Dave's camp is beautiful, but what truly made our stay special was Dave himself. He was so kind to us, and he had the most amazing stories to tell. I dont think we have ever had such a fantastic experience with any place we stayed, and we will keep this time in our memories for quite a while.

    Jan2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We had an amazing time @ Dave’s place...he is very accommodating. The cottage is adorable and the lake is gorgeous. He took us out on his boat and jet skis. He is a great guy - we had a lot of fun getting to know him. He is very knowledgeable about the area. He cooked us delicious breakfasts, too. This was a trip we will not forget!

    Cornelius2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you have a chance to stay here, don’t pass it up. This was the best Airbnb experience we have ever had. Dave is an amazing host who is so welcoming. He offered to take us out on his boat and even built us a fire at night. We are planning on returning next year. The house is SO adorable in the perfect location. If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway, this is your spot!

    Lexi2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Dave and the place was amazing! We came in late after hiking katahdin and Dave was there to great us when we pulled in with lights all over the place and food! Highly recommend thanks!

    Charlie2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dave's hospitality was outstanding. He and his family made sure we felt at home during our stay and we loved spending our free time talking to them. The cabin is very cozy and offers a stunning view over the lake as well as a well-equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals.

    Elisabeth2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Dave’s cabin for the Millinocket Marathon in December. From the moment of reservation, Dave was communicative, thorough, and hands on. He seemed to invest himself fully in our experience, anticipating our needs in advance and giving generously and energetically of his time, care, and resources to not only meet our needs but to surpass our expectations. We came to know him through this process so this was definitely not the kind of AirBnb stay in which we stayed anonymous to our host—all the better as making connections to a region is what the Millinocket race is all about. We learned a lot about Dave, the cabin, and the region and enjoyed ourselves greatly. The cabin is cozy and cute with a kitchen as stunning as the view.

  • On a scale of 1 to 10, Steve and Debbie are a 20 on the satisfaction scale. Our trip was complicated by a number of "non-accommodations" issues. Ours hosts went WAY out their way to assist with the burdens! As far as the cottage is concerned, it was perfect for us and, frankly, better than I expected. The cottage/cabin and location are suited for activities for ALL of New England's seasons. It is a HUGE plus to have your hosts close by! Five ++ Star Rating for the facility, location, and hosts. Thank you so much!

  • Steve and Debbie’s cabin was perfect for our family. We had 3 families and 2 small dogs and we had plenty of space. All beds were very comfy and had ample pillows and blankets. The kids had a blast out on the pond and hanging out in the loft. The table was large enough to accommodate our puzzle and the living room had plenty of seating for us all to watch a movie at the end of the day. We were also able to meet Steve and Debbie and they are just the nicest people! We will be back! ❤️

  • What an awesome camp!!! We loved being so close to Moosehead and the hiking trails. Being able to walk 1000ft put the back of the cabin to the waterfront wasn’t too shabby either!!! Paul and Lance were super responsive and answered all our questions! They also gave us some awesome local tips! Beautiful place and a must visit!

  • Great location in a beautiful part of Maine. Communication was excellent. A perfect rustic getaway!

  • LOVED everything about this cabin, peaceful and quiet, beautifully decorated, and so cozy. Even the few days we were there felt like home. When we weren’t out exploring the town, we enjoyed coffee and sitting by the fire pit. Everything was perfect, looking forward to visiting in the future

    Maura2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin is very nicely decorated and is super comfortable. We had everything we needed. A little remote, but great location to get away from It all. We are definitely planning on a return visit.

  • Wonderful cottage in the woods, suited perfect for a family with kids especially if you’re looking for a place to relax for a couple days. We cooked breakfast & dinner at the cottage everyday. I highly recommend!

    Sofia2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A bit off the beaten path and totally worth it! We couldn’t have asked for a better location for my family’s long weekend getaway. We didn’t even need to leave “the neighborhood” in order to keep our 2 active teenagers and preschooler occupied and happy. I wish I had more time to explore the trail system that is located directly back of the cabin which leads through the forest, along the rocky shore, to a beautiful little beach with a dock. So quiet and peaceful! Greenville and Rockwood are just a quick drive away. The cabin is very clean, spacious and well appointed. Beds are very comfortable. Our host was friendly and attentive. We cannot wait to return!

    Patty2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! The cabin is clean, cozy and everything you could want in a Maine cabin. Paul or whom ever decorated has a great eye and really knows what makes a space feel special. The lake is walking distance although we drove most days because we don’t pack light. The water at the lake is crystal clear and perfect for swimming! Definitely coming back!

  • This is a very cute cabin right on the lake with an amazing view of Mt. Katahdin. Great deck and dock to enjoy the sunsets. Michael & Vicky were very welcoming and provided me with some great tips for the area! All the modern amenities (TV & WiFi) in a nice quiet cabin! I highly recommend staying at the Dragonfly Cabin!

    Erin2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great lake house with a fantastic location. It is within walking distance to NEOC, a short drive to Baxter Park, And reasonably close to town. The views from the backyard on the lake are beautiful. Highly recommend this place

    Stephen2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Vicky and Michael's place is amazing! There is so much space and everything you could possibly need. Being on the lake was so much fun and you feel incredible isolated from everything else even with people nearby. I will absolutely stay here again in the future.

    Kelly2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Vicky & Michael’s place. The location is perfect and we enjoyed easy access to hiking at Baxter State Park and the convenience of a few dining options and a camp store within walking distance. My family had so much fun that we even skipped a day of hiking just to relax and use the canoe and kayaks to paddle around the lake and sat by the fire pit under the stars at night! Beautiful home in a beautiful setting! Definitely recommend.

    Theodore2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing getaway on a pristine lake with a stellar view of Mount Katahdin! The house was beautiful and comfortably accomodated 10 guests. The hosts were very helpful and quick to reply to any questions we had months ahead of the trip and during. The location couldn't have been better with regard to rafting, hiking and biking. Highly recommended!

    Justin2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, wonderful accommodations and fantastic hosts. Can’t wait to go back.

    Brent2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 4 (kids 4 and 7.5) had a lovely 9-day stay at the Dragonfly. We kayaked, fished, and swam some days, drove up into Baxter State Park to hike on others. Older kid got to be a pretty good paddler! There is a great view of Mt. Katahdin from the dock, and the stars are brilliant on a clear night. The kids loved the ducks that came to visit each day, swaying in the hammock, and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. We didn't use the TV, but there is a remarkable DVD collection if you happen to be there on a rainy day. Also a handful of games and a couple of puzzles, for lazy mornings/evenings. The kitchen has everything you might need and then some (we caught the beginning of blueberry season and baked a pie), and the restaurant at the New England Outdoor Center (either a short walk up the road, or a quick paddle across the cove) has great food. Millinocket town is about a 20-minute drive for groceries, and we enjoyed the Appalachian Trail Cafe in town for lunch and overhearing through-hiker tales. We'd recommend double checking with Vicky and Michael about the check-out routine (where to leave sheets and towels, whether you're expected to vacuum before you go), as we seem to have had some miscommunication there, but otherwise it was an excellent experience!

  • This property is awesome! The best vacations are to Maine, and this vacation was the best vacation we've ever taken.... The cabin has so much charm, and the views from the window cannot be beat! Having our own firepit, which overlooked the lake, made for awesome winding down for the day... And we absolutely loved having direct access to the lake and being able to use the owner's kayaks and canoe to explore the lake and it's many islands. Did I mention the views!? Beautiful views from any direction across the lake. Be sure to explore nearby Baxter State Park for some hiking, and a short road trip north to Patten!

  • Kevin and Michelle were amazing, as was their property! This cabin is on the water and has the most amazing views. Hosts are close by in case you need anything but the location of the cabin makes you feel like you’re the only one on the lake. Hosts offer use of their kayaks, fire pit and more. It’s our favorite Maine destination to date!

    Cody2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin in a great location. We loved it and Kevin and Michelle were perfect hosts. The cabin is well appointed and Michelle’s fresh cookies were a big hit. This is definitely a 5 star + stay.

  • Windy Point Cottage was such an incredible find! The house was huge and very clean. The front porch is just steps from Ambajejus Lake (with access to kayaks!) and has a gorgeous view of Kathadin. If you are hiking in Baxter State Park, as we were, it is only about a 10 minute drive to the park entrance. Communication was great and the house was easy to find from directions. Highly recommend this lovely home.

    Briana2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was so nice that we didn't want to leave. It had a spacious living area with all the amenities you need to cook there. We used the gas grill and nice outdoor firepit. It was very clean which is a priority for me. The deck facing the water was so serene and relaxing. It was a great place to drink your morning coffee, watch the beautiful sunsets and listen to loons and birds. At night we would look up at the sky and star gaze and saw a few shooting stars. The beach was nice for swimming and hanging out in the beach chairs. We enjoyed that we could kayak everyday. It's proximity to Baxter State Park was great for us because we spent some time there every day exploring and hiking. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely go back and hope we can soon.

  • This home is in a BEAUTIFUL lakeside location. With quite a bit of snow already on the ground, we really appreciated the woodstove, with firewood on hand. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals for the weekend, and the views from the porch / dining room made them even more enjoyable.

  • What a beautiful home! If you're looking to get away from the world and put aside the responsibilities of your day-to-day, this is the place. You absolutely will not be disappointed. The property is quite secluded and we didn't see another soul throughout our entire stay. Thank you to the whole gang that keeps this place running!

    Jeffrey2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time here! The bed was comfy, there was a full kitchen, and the lake was amazing. So clean and stunning!

  • This place is a true hidden gem. Perfect for a quiet and relaxing time, connecting with nature, either for adventure of rest. The house is beautiful, very warm and welcoming. It has everything you need -and more- kitchen supplies, books, wifi, movies, kayaks, canoe, fishing stuff, truly everything. The sunrise and sunset view of the lake are breathtaking.. we woke up extra early just for that. Following your recommendations, we went to a local brewery and pizza. We loved the whole experience. 2 h drive to Acadia and much closer from other nice hikes. Thank you very much for everything!!

    Gaby2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as pictured. A wonderful place to relax, swim, fish( we caught a 16 inch Bass that was delicious!), boat, nap the day away, and see amazing stars. Stay here- you will be glad you did.

  • I considered dozens of places in 3 different states and this was the perfect fit for our family. It felt like home away from home - more comfortable than the typical sterile vacation rental. Charming, clean, comfortable beds and tons of light. Owner and manager were very helpful and had lots of good info about the lake and the area. A canoe, 2 kayaks and life jackets on site were put to good use. The kids explored the lake while we lounged on the dock. We’d recommend to anyone looking to unplug and get away for it all.

    Melissa2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a setting! The lake is beautiful and the house is so comfortable. You walk out the door, pass the firepit and you're on the dock. Take a kayak or canoe out into the lake for ultimate tranquility... We had a great weekend! Thanks.

    Louise2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great view of the water. Had fun sitting on the dock each day watching loons and kayaks float by. A place to unplug from the world and enjoy some great natural space.

  • We love the area and have been going for many many years! This place was great for our family! This was by far one of the best rentals we have used in the area!!

  • Beautiful view!! Close to town, wonderful place!

    DoryAnn2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful rental was clean, exactly as advertised, easy to find, and located on a quintessential Maine pond (loons included!). It is a short drive into downtown Greenville and centrally located to a lot of cool hiking, swimming, and fishing sites in the region. I highly recommend it!

150.00-200.00 / Night 9% Maine Lodging tax will be added. This is a sweet little camp has a large deck set high in the surrounding trees and woods on two sides with shared access to our “stony cove” (a rarity on Maine lakes and ponds) for swimming, launching kayaks and canoes, fishing off the dock, or sitting around the fire pit at night. There is a nearby public launch for trailered powerboats that can be tied to a private dock. This property shares a beach with Stony Cove Lodge.
The interior of the Camp includes a bedroom and closet with cathedral ceiling, a bathroom with bathtub and shower, and a sleeping loft with double and twin-sized beds. The kitchen includes complete sets of dishes, pans, and silverware; and a stove and refrigerator. There is a couch that turns into a bed, a television/dvd player, and radio. A grill is located on the deck for outdoor cookouts.
  • Me and my wife really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and cozy. Really enjoyed having the pond right there. We used bonfire pit on the beach almost every night , there was plenty of firewood available! Would recommend staying there!

  • Very nice house, perfect spot very close to everything in Greenville. Super relaxing

    Dave2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We were so happy with this spot! The beautiful pond and quiet area made for a nice relaxing weekend!

    Brooke2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic little cabin, up to date and clean on a quiet lake where loons visit the beach and can be heard calling each evening. Four miles from the local hotspot Greenville, this is located on a smaller, quieter lake. We couldn’t have asked for more.

The health and safety of our guests, homeowners, and employees is our number one priority. Many of our vacation rentals minimize person-to-person contact with private amenities and entry via smart locks or lockboxes. Plus, each reservation is backed by 24/7 customer support and expert cleaning in line with current CDC guidelines.
You'll truly get away from it all at this four-bedroom Kokadjo retreat, a dog-friendly home on the shores of First Roach Pond with a dock on the lake, a shaded deck, a patio, and a foosball table to enjoy when you're not fishing, boating, skiing, or snowshoeing. This lakefront lodge sits on the northern banks of First Roach Pond, eight miles northeast of Moosehead Lake. Launch your kayak from the dock at sunrise or strap on your snowshoes for a winter excursion. You can explore the beautiful Moosehead Lake at Lily Bay State Park (12 miles southwest), the slopes of Mt. Kineo (26 miles west), or the wilderness of Baxter State Park (40 miles northeast). Begin each morning by browsing the free WiFi and scrambling eggs in the country kitchen. Grab a bathing suit from the washer/dryer for a summer day on the lake, light the gas grill at lunchtime for a barbecue on the deck, and spend the evening hours watching movies and playing foosball with your dogs curled up at your feet (a two-dog limit and a nightly fee apply). Reserve your stay in Kokadjo today! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.
  • I wanted a very private and secluded peaceful weekend for my family that would allow our dogs. The home was large and roomy enough for 6 of us and two dogs. The location was easy to find and we did find a store about 5 min away that had everything we needed. The lake has a nice dock and is pristine and warm. You really feel like you are deep in the Maine woods which you are. We saw moose nearby. The lake was great for swimming. The house had mostly everything we needed but if you are more than two people I would suggest bringing your own soap, shampoo and conditioner as the trial size is not really enough for a large family. There was a restaurant nearby and Greenville is not far at all and there are many more options there. The lake would be perfect for kayaking or canoeing. The house was very cozy and beautiful and is well stocked with anything you could need and lots of games for the kids too. We had a wonderful time and would go back in a heartbeat.

Kitty's Lake House is a 3 season lakefront home with spectacular views of the sun setting over the last 100 miles of the Appalachian Trail traversing Mt Katahdin. One of the most unique properties in the area, this home sleeps up to 10 with all the beauty Maine has to offer right outside the front door. Hike the tallest peak in Maine (Mt Katahdin), the Grand Canyon of Maine (Gulf Hagas), whitewater raft class 5 rapids down the West Branch of the Penobscot River or just relax on the beach out front on pristine South Twin Lake.
  • What a special and magical place! This place epitomizes what AirBnB is about... Kittys lakehouse is unique and beyond words. Our group had a fantastic time enjoying the lake and the views. Sunsets were unbelievable! Yesere is a (very infrequent) train behind the house but it just adds to the experience.

    Emily2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome stay! The home is beautifully designed and the record collection is outstanding. By the lake we enjoyed incredible sunsets and listening to the loons.

    Alyssa2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's place is unique, beautiful and has an incredible location for what our group was looking to do in Millinocket. Poor weather throughout our trip prevented us from doing the hike we had hoped, but it allowed us to settle into the house which is what actually made the trip as memorable as it was. Embrace the creativity, buy into the quirkiness and you will never regret staying here! Kim was a fantastic host and accommodated us every step of the way.

    Jeanelle2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible spot!

    Tripp2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Expect amazing sunsets, expect a vast view of the lake when you walk into the doorway of Kim's hand crafted wood cabin, expect artistic touches throughout and stories for each part of this one of a kind home, expect quick, helpful and thoughtful responses. We were 7 in our group and completely enjoyed every moment of our trip. Kim and Renee were so helpful, with a call before our trip "just to check in" with detailed instructions on the area and on having a delightful stay. Beds were comfy, and the water - my wife brought home a bottle of the water and is still enjoying it from the fridge! Kitchen was well stocked for entertaining such a large group, lots of space to navigate and cook. Their lake side location one of the best with a little beach and firepit. We kayaked, we visited Baxter and Gulf Hagis. One of my guests said it was the best trip she had ever taken, which made me the coordinator look like a star :-) . Well, the credit all goes to Kim and Renee our SUPER hosts!

    Scott2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This house looks nothing like any house we have ever been to. This was just like living in a museum. The view from the porch and the amount of interesting art pieces in the house, almost caused us not going out to see the National Park 😊 Kim was really kind and offered us his kayaks, was avaliable to answer all of our questions, an amazing experience!

    Iris2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's place is fantastic. We were a group of pretty hardcore hikers, 3 men and 4 women, who were there to hike Katahdin and the Knife's edge. Professionally our group consisted of a home builder, an attorney, a psychiatrist, the owner of a software company, etc.. All of our group absolutely loved Kim's house. The fact that he's an artist and built his house is seen everywhere you look. His home is another one of his works of art, and it's awesome. His attention to detail is amazing with the house itself, and the way he's decorated it. We will absolutely stay at Kim's place again, when we come back to hike Katahdin, next time. Our only regret with the trip, is that we spent so little time in his home with it's incredible view of the lake and it's wonderful sunsets.

    John2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very unique house and we are a unique family so it was a perfect fit. The location was fantastic, close to Baxter state park, quite, and peaceful. The views were amazing! The natural setting was beautifully woven into the construction and design of the home. Theread was wood and stone throughout the house and plenty of natural light. We enjoyed stargazing at night from the second floor deck while listening to the loons. The furniture was rundown but that just added to the rustic Maine vibe. We were very comfortable here, even my 77 year old mother who appreciated the walk-in shower and first floor bedroom. It was fun to explore and discover something new and special each day inside and outside of the house. We hate to tell too many people about this special house because we look forward to being able to return again to enjoy it ourselves.

  • We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It was extremely clean, the beach was nice and the sunsets were amazing. Perfect place to unplug and reconnect with the ones you love.

    Jess2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Beautiful sunsets. Nice shallow cove, perfect for canoeing and kayaking. While there are other camps nearby it is still quite private. Moosehead Property is responsive and nice to deal with.

  • This place was lovely and quiet! We were right on the lake with a great little beach for swimming and canoeing. Cozy cabin was tidy and perfect for the six of us. And we were close to Lily Bay State Park and Prong Pond Mountain. Thanks!

  • Was the perfect location and all the included extras like firewood, kayaks and a canoe made it a great value as well.

  • The cottage was easy to find, and had a lovely view of the lake with beautiful sunsets. Everything was just as described in the listing, and check in was simple. We particularly enjoyed the fire pit and it was a pleasant surprise to have firewood available on site. Having access to the kayaks and canoe, along with lifejackets and paddles, was a really great amenity. The cottage has plenty of space and is very comfortable, with the added plus of being WiFi-enabled. We would definitely stay again!

    Angela2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • At Moosehead Properties you will find an incredible sunset/rise view from the dock or even the dinner table. There were 3 kayaks and an canoe easily accessible and fun to use. We stayed for about 5 day and were able to fish a ton, relax and even hike Mt. Katahdin! The house is big and open. The stairs are steep though to the upper levels just an FYI but very manageable for most. Plan for a fun time and enjoy the sights!

    Alison2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! The cabin is a great size with plenty of space to relax both inside and outside. There is a nice large deck, fire pit and private dock. The cabin is right on the lake so the views are incredible! The kitchen had all the amenities needed such as pots and pans, plates, utensils, cooking utensils, coffee pot, etc. The bedding and towels were clean upon arrival and having a washer and dryer onsite was helpful. Town is only about 20 minutes from camp and Indian Hill Trading Post has everything you can think of from groceries to clothing - you'll definitely want to pick up some drinking water. Moosehead Lake is a beautiful place to visit and this cabin was a great find. We would absolutely stay at this cabin again!

Welcome to Cole's Moosehorn Cabins & "The Way It Was"! Unplug & reconnect at this historic lakefront log cabin. Located on Northwest Pond, part of Seboies Lake, in T4R9, Maine just south of Millinocket. The cabin is rustic yet clean & comfortable. Take a paddle on our complementary canoes/kayaks & bask in views of the Chairback mountain range & Katahdin. Look for moose, enjoy the loons, stargaze & swim on this nearly private pond. cabin comes with everything you need and nothing you don't.
rustic log cabin rental on the shores of Northwest Pond/ Seboies Lake in T4R9 Maine (it's an unorganized township in the Katahdin Region of Maine). We are a set of historic sporting camps on the shore of a 2000+ acre pond where you can take a paddle around in one of our complementary canoes, swim, fish and more. Also handy to hiking in the famed "100 mile Wilderness" which is part of the Appalachian Trail. Book a whitewater rafting trip on the West Branch of the Penobscot River or hike the highest mountain in Maine- Katahdin. We have a total of three cabin rentals situated around a main lodge. Each cabin room has a twin and a full size bed in our two bedroom cabins. Bed linens are supplied as well as kitchen towels and cloths. (bring you own beach towel). Kitchen ware is supplied and they have gas ranges and gas refrigerators. There is a wood stove for heat (wood supplied). We provide potable water for drinking and dishes and there are outhouse facilities (no showers- take a jump in the lake!). There is no electricity (gas lights and lanterns) so be ready to get UN-plugged, interact with your company, listen to the loons and watch the night sky! Know before you go: you are going into the wilderness. Cell phone reception is marginal at best. The road into camp is a dirt logging road it is passable in a two wheel drive vehicle but small cars with low clearance will need to take there time navigating rocks. It takes about 35 minutes to reach the nearest town so it's a good idea to stock up before you head in (i.e groceries).
Cole's Moosehorn Cabins is a historic sporting camp dating back to the late 1800's. Sports or guest, would arrive via the railroad and canoe to camp. We are located on Maine Public Reserve Lands and are the only cabins on Northwest Pond part of Seboies Lake. So, lucky for us and you we offer a nearly private pond experience and one that will never be developed beyond these camps.
  • The cabin was very clean! Location was gorgeous. Lots of privacy

  • This is a truly isolated place to stay, deep in the Maine woods next to a beautiful lake. It is a place to collect your thoughts and take a break from today's busy world.

  • We had an awesome stay at Trapper Bill’s cabin. The lake was lovely and we were happy to be able to jump into a canoe when we arrived. Close enough to go hike Katahdin yet far enough from everything to feel secluded. The wood burning stove was great to have and the property is peaceful and quiet. We loved it!!!

  • It’s hard to know what to expect even after reading reviews and checking out the photos… But this place was amazing. The remote location was perfect and the simple cabins were wonderful and clean. My husband and I really enjoyed using the kayaks to go out on the pond to fish and watch the loons.

  • Our long weekend at Kate and gene's cabin was amazing. The experience we had was beyond words. It is a beautiful place, heaven on earth. If you are on the fence about it, just book it. It is soooo worth it. You won't regret it 😃😃😃

  • There aren’t enough words to describe the secluded calm tranquility that we experienced here. Quite a long drive coming in a the dirt road but more than worth it. The cabin has all the small things that you would need. Lots of horse flys, be prepared to swat all night. And pack everything you may need because it takes awhile to get to town. Gene and Katie are welcoming and very kind. We will be back!!

The Lambertson cabin is a rustic log cabin on the north shore of Wilson Pond. It’s a family cabin, so we appreciate your efforts to treat it as your own. It does not have electricity but has gas lights, refrigerator, stove, and hot water heater. Inside the cabin you will find a small leather-covered spiral notebook, which explains with pictures how light the gas lights, etc. Everything should be up and running when you get there, so you'll just have to light the lights.
There are two double beds. A futon can be used for extra guests.
The cabin is located on the shore of Lower Wilson Pond. There are only three cabins on Lambertson Road so you will find peace and quiet while listening to the loons calling.

    Amanda N Brenton2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Mike’s place on the lake. The setting is very serene and peaceful. It is rustic and worth the drive to get there. You truly feel that you are away from it all. We fell asleep to the sounds of loons at night. We made great use of Mike’s canoe and paddle boat which were ideal for a quiet lake like South Twin. My husband loved the fishing. There was enough space for myself, parents, sister and black lab. Mike was very responsive to anything needed. We are looking forward to returning.
